Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Eve's Sports Radio. August the eighth, twenty
twenty four. I've set that date now for about nine
and a half years, and it's making time past too quickly.
I may have to throw the date out of my intro.
Starting to frighten me. I'm getting no too fast. But
it is August the eighth, twenty twenty four. This is

(00:20):
Jerry Eves. Eves Sports Radio phone number is five zero
two five seven one seventy nine hundred. That's five zero
two five seven one seventy nine hundred Thursday. If you
didn't know it, we're close. It was some day yesterday
and Thursday today. So a lot of people start their
weekend plans on Thursday and they just try to fight

(00:42):
through on Friday. So I understand I used to do
the same thing. Now that we are here and it's
going to be a beautiful day, a little overcast, it's
going to be warm again. Make sure that you hydrate
if you have to be outside. It is dangerous temperatures.
We've got a lot to get to so first and foremost,
let me bring on my young co host. We're not
in studio, he's at home. I'm in the basement I've

(01:06):
got ESPN on and so does he. Anthony, Welcome to
the show, Welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Back, Hey, good morning. How you doing well?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
You know, yesterday, Anthony, I was doing better because we
had a we had a group, a cast of characters.
It is the best way I can put it. I
could say you are cast the characters are cast of clowns.
It just depends on how I wanted to put it.
But since you and Frank are now grown, I can't
call you clowns anymore. And since we had Brooksy with us,
you know, and he thinks he's grown, got his NBA,

(01:37):
thinks he's a grown man now. So I guess I
got to leave you youngsters alone. But I had a
lot of fun yesterday in studio. What about yourself?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Oh, I had a great time yesterday. It was it was.
It was an amazing morning that we had everybody in
the studios. It was a good time.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
It was a good time. It really was. We have
to slide in more often, we really are, Anthony, because
I did, I kind of enjoyed it. But I want
people to understand, in studio is Fourth Street Live. That's
downtown Louisville, on the second floor. Okay, right, above Friday's restaurant.
And right now I'm in my basement, so I think

(02:15):
I walked a total. I did go to the second
floor of my home to get my vitamins. I take
more vitamins than law allows. I don't know why I do,
but I do. I take everything out of the sun.
I've got a medicine cabinet of vitamins. I take no medicines,
no blood pressure medicine. I'm working on that. Doctor Wheeler
continues to tells me, Jerry, You've got to eat right,
which is hard for me. I love right food, drink better.

(02:38):
I love sodas, but I have cut back on the sodas, Anthony,
I have truly cut back. So I'm trying to do better.
But you know, God will e no medicines, but I
take every vitamin. But anth I'm gonna tell you what.
It's just so comfortable right here now. Where are you
tell the truth? You in the bed? Are you sitting
up in the kitchen? Are you up tell the truth?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Norminally? Down in the bed.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I tell you, man, it's just so comfortable. Since COVID,
I want people to know something. Since COVID technology has
improved to such a level, that, Anthony. I used to
go into the studio every day for the first probably
five years. Every day over off Newburgh Road. I would
leave Simmons and drive in. I was twelve to one.

(03:24):
There was a part a portion of time I was
seven to nine. I was on seven ninety like I
am now from seven to nine for about I want
to say three months, but I'll talk to you. I'll
tell you what happened another day then. But I used
to have to go into the studio. I need to
do the show. Now, no gas, I mean no traffic

(03:44):
on the snowy days, Anthony. It used to be a
bear and we had a few snowy days. It was
dangerous trying to get into the office. But now it's
just so simple. I mean technology, Thank you. That's all
I can say. So Antheon is what we had. I've
been remissed. I don't know how. I've talked to a
really good friend of mine. We talked about it two

(04:07):
days ago and yesterday morning, and I forgot both times
to mention. Coach Craigthorpe Steve Craigthorpe at University of Louisvill's
head coach from two thousand and nine through eleven. Passed
away three days ago. It was fifty nine years old
of Parkinson's disease, Anthony. And you're young, but that is
a very tough neuro disease. It's just boy's hard. It's

(04:31):
long term, Anthony, it's slow. Prognosis is you're not going
We're all going to die anyway, Anthony. But we don't
ever want to think that way. But it's just an
awful disease. It takes your motor skills away. It's really, really,
really tough. So I know his family is going through
hard times. University of Toledo has put him in there,

(04:51):
elected him into their Hall of Fame. So I'm glad
to hear about that. And I'm sure his family is struggling.
But God always makes a way, Anthony. That's all I
can tell them. But I just wanted to make sure
that I mentioned him. I wasn't here a long time.
A lot of people said he wasn't successful, even though
the fifteen and twenty one records not bad. But I

(05:12):
just want to make sure that we speak about him
and let people know that he has passed away at
the early age of fifty nine. Lets me know how
blessed I am Anthony at sixty five just to be here,
and I've got a lot of my friends that are
going through different things, that are struggling with issues and
need prayers. And I want to say a shout out

(05:32):
for my man, Big Brown. Everybody knows Wiley Brown, the
gentleman that lost his thumb at the championship game that
we all had to go find it. He threatened all
of us until we found it. And we found it,
Randy Baufort and our sales, the managers, coaches, everybody until
we found that thumb. But he's having a low iron count,
so he's in the hospital trying to get his blood, sales,

(05:54):
things together. So I want everybody to say a prayer
for Wiley Brown. He's the very best guy hit coach
at i USE Southeast. He's been there got probably fourteen
or fifteen years, Anthony, and he's been very successful. Just
I mean, just to let you know, he beat Bellaman
when Scotty was really good Division two i US Southeast,

(06:15):
Wiley Brown's team beat Bellaman. That just lets you know
the kind of job he's done. Because Scotty has done
a fantastic job. I want people to know that and
is it in a Scotty Davenport plug or show. But
I want people to understand last year he had a
tough year. That didn't mean he didn't coach his butt off.
I told you all when Bellaman went Division one and

(06:36):
put Scottie in different waters. It's going to take time
for him to recruit for that program to get on
that level. Just want you all to understand that. Everybody says, well,
what about the first year. Yes, the first year it
happens quite often, but to stay at that level, it's
going to take him time. So I don't want y'all
to think that Scott is any less a coach. He's
just been put in a very difficult situation. And what

(06:59):
is that, Guys. He's got to play pay games. He
has to make money. No one knows better than coach
Beart and I I've had more people knocked me on
my coaching record, Anthony. I think I was ninety nine
and one hundred and eighty. Also one hundred and eighty, Anthony,
if I was two and ten going into conference play,
I had a tremendous year. People just don't understand the

(07:21):
restraints that low level Division one programs have to do.
When you have to go play Louisville, Kentucky, UCLA, Gonzaga
like Scotty's playing right now. Scotty will play anybody anywhere
for the money. Guys. He doesn't want to play them,
trust me, but he will play them because he's got
to make the money for bellam and sports program. So
I want people to always remember that when you're talking

(07:41):
about Scotty's record, people just don't know the business. But
I just wanted to make sure that we spoke about
coach Craigthorpe and I'm praying for his family, So an
with him, thirteen big fellow, and you know you're always
my Olympic medal count guy, Give me kind of what's transpired,
what's going on, give me the metal count and what

(08:03):
we should be looking forward to in this Olympics before
we get to break yep.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
So, going into our Olympic Medal count update, the US
is still in first place, have a total of ninety
five medals going into this Thursday in first place between
seven gold, thirty five silver, and thirty three bronze. So
overall first in every department in the first and overall,
China's trailing behind and second with twenty five gold, twenty

(08:32):
four silver and seventeen and broad with a total of
sixty six. Australia is in third with forty two, and
then France and Great Britain are trailing right behind them
with a total of fifty one and forty nine going
in today, we do have some more games going on,
so I think I'm pretty sure, and then we have
some I think men's basketball today, if I'm.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Not wrong, we got them today.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Another woman played the woman played yesterday and they won.
It was a blowout, but Thatgerian woman trying to make
it close in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Then they did compete, Yes, Nigeria did. They were down
thirty in the second half, ended up losing eighty eight
seventy four. Anthony, I watched that game. They did compete.
I saw a little girl blocking out Grimes and he
should have seen her. She had just she was trying
to root her out. I mean she was probably five
three Grimes at six eight, but she was down there

(09:26):
trying her best to block her out. So a lot
of credit to Nigeria. They played really hard. They did
played fundamental basketball. It was I was proud to watch
them play. They played the right way.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Good and then last night, actually last night it was
a rerun. I watched a little bit that word. I
was watching table tennis again, you know, my little my
little side hustle sport. I feel like feeling Anthony Edward
side hustle spoil.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Watched and I watched Sweden.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Take down Japan and a sudden game series, so they
headed on the face the winner, I think of China
and France with the gold medal in Japan will be
facing I don't know. I don't know who Japan's facing
for the bronze medal, but I know they've qualified for that.
But I know the winner will be for gold between

(10:18):
China and France and Sweden.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I got you know, I love temple tennis. It's not
the game we played, Anthony, that's for sure. That's another level,
my goodness. I mean, that is a whole nother level. Anthony,
and a lot of people, older gentlemen. You don't know
your uncles. They're passed away now. But when they were
in the service, Anthony, they played table tennis. They had it.
That was the sport. That's what they did. A lot

(10:43):
of them played ping pong and they were Uncle Jimmy
was very good my dad's brother. My dad was very good.
They played a lot of ping pong back in the day,
but not to this level, Anthony. They could curve the ball,
which I can curve the ball. But those guys, they're amazing.
Watching what they do on this table, the way they
hit that ball, the way they pop their wrists, it's crazy. Yeah,

(11:04):
I mean, all the different sports in the Olympics, it
has been so exciting. I just wish I knew all
the rules for the sports. I wish I had the
time to where I could just sit down and I'm
telling everybody my bucket list twenty twenty eight. If I'm here,
I will be in Los Angeles. I may not be
in Los Angeles. I may be at the outskirts because

(11:25):
there's going to be a million dollars a night, but
I'm going to go to Los Angeles and watch the
next to the twenty twenty eight Olympics. Can't wait. It's a
bucket list. If I'm here, I'm going to be there, Anthony.
And like my brother was saying, Larry, I don't care
what events I go to. I just want to go
to the events and watch the athletes compete that have
been practicing and working their guts out, because guys, those people,

(11:49):
it's amazing to watch the runners and the gymnasts and
the swimmers and things we just don't get to see
every day. We see football and basketball every day. Is
being baseball every day. I get to see it all
the time. We get to see the managers and just
like the Dodgers managers upset with what happened last night.
We get to watch that, but we don't get to
watch the other sports. And they've got phenomenal athletes, Anthony,

(12:11):
and I swear they run up with those mics on
those people that have been running a mile and two
miles and it's crazy the hurdles, and they run right
up to them and want them to talk. I'd be
telling them time out. I need a break. I'm tired.
I can't answer any questions, Anthony. I'm tired, But I'm
gonna tell you what we haven't spoke about. Yark and

(12:32):
the Goose. The goose, Anthony. The young man that went
to Manual, that went to Notre Dame, that ran in
the fifteen hundred and came in third, got the bronze metal,
anth Anthony. Again, you had three people running fifteen hundred
meter race and finished within a second of each other.
Is crazy. I mean it just the competition and the

(12:58):
way they're pushing themselves at the end of these races.
It's just crazy. It just doesn't make sense how well
they can run and how strong they can push themselves.
And you see the will to win come out so
much in the Olympics, more than you see in any
other team sport. It's crazy. Football during the playoffs, Super Bowl, yes,

(13:21):
they play college football, Bowl games, no, but you see
them the lead up to the bowl games, those last
three games of the college season. You see teams playing basketball,
the playoffs, you see them playing NBA and college you
see teams playing you see the pressure. We saw University
of Kentucky teams the last three or four years had

(13:43):
a very hard time performing under the pressure. But nothing
like what I saw Quincy Hall do yesterday. Anthony, Friends, listeners,
if you all didn't see the highlights of Quincy Hall
and ESPN, one of the co hosts is acting like
he's running it's a four hundred meter race. And if

(14:03):
you all don't know, in my opinion, we always talk
about the young man Quincy Lewis, that's in the Olympics sixteen.
It is the toughest race ever. It's a sprint for
four hundred meters, one lap around all you have. It
separates the men's from the boys, I'm telling you. Anthony,

(14:24):
turning the corner, Quincy was in fourth place and you
could see the expression on his face. You thought he
was done. They're showing him right now on ESPN. He
was grimacing. Everyone thought he the announcer, oh, he doesn't
look good coming out of the turn. It doesn't look
very good. And then all of a sudden, Anthony, you

(14:45):
started to see the will to win, and you started
to see that young man pick it up. Anthony. People
don't know because they've never really sprinted all out. They're
not Anthony. I would consider college athletes like yourself, myself,
they've never had a coach push them to the limits.
They never have. Most people have never pushed themselves to

(15:07):
their limits. They never have. It hurts. I want people
to understand it is not comfortable what you see them doing.
When you see them smiling twenty seconds after that. The training,
the preparation, it is very difficult well for that race, Anthony,
to have kick left. That's why I love the young kid.

(15:28):
I told people he'll be in the mile relay and
the medley relay. I can't wait for him to be
sixteen in the Olympid Trials Quincy Lewis and run people down.
He showed me a lot because Anthony, people just don't
have kick the last eighty meters. You're just done, You're spent,
you're tired, your heart's about to jump out of your chest.

(15:50):
I want people to understand it's pounding so hard and
they push themselves to that limit daily. To watch that race,
I'm so proud of him to see him come across
ran his best time ever, ran a forty three point
oh three Anthony his best time ever. So in the
biggest stage and the biggest scene, he showed up his best.

(16:12):
And that's a lot of people say how do you
evaluate an athlete? And a lot of people ask me,
what do you remember? What do you remember? What do
you remember? And I'll tell you every time. In my opinion,
I was a dog in the first half of the
UCLA game, the biggest game of my life. I was
a complete dog. And in the second half I was

(16:34):
the best player on the floor. Got no problem saying
that and Daryl Griffith was on the floor too, don't forget.
And I told you all griff was the best. Griff
told me to shoot the ball. Eve, you got to
shoot the ball, period. But it was the biggest moment,
and athletes want to show up in the biggest moments,
and that is the evaluation. That is the epitome of
a suit a really, really good athlete. Some people are

(16:57):
highly critical of people that don't win championships and things,
but Anthony, the benchmark, the Michael Jordan is winning it all. Now,
You're still can be a Hall of Famer and you
can be a great player, but in a team sport,
individual sport, winning that carrot is the key, that just
the bottom line is the key. And nobody Quincy Hall,

(17:20):
You've got my due respect admiration because what you did
those last eighty meters, no one has any idea how
hard you had to work and how hard your chest
was beating for you to do what you did yesterday
in that four meter and made America super proud. Like
all the other medalists and the people that didn't meddle,

(17:40):
that have put in all the work, they've put in Anthony,
all the blood, sweat, and tears, all the injuries, all
the rep The trainer is the worst part, guys. Let
me tell you what Jerry May is to cease now.
But you all know we called him rough House. He
was Louisville's football and basketball trainer and baseball He did
everything for the University of the overpol for numerous years.

(18:03):
Now they've got numerous trainers. There's so much money out there.
But when you spend time with Jerry May, that was unpleasant.
You were up at five thirty in the morning in whirlpools,
ice cups where he's pressing it on your hamstrings or
on your ankle, hydroculator packs, warm packs. You'll have no
idea him rubbing you extremely hard. Going to the trainer

(18:25):
is not fun, guys. A lot of part of athletics
is very, very strenuous. I just want you to know that,
and what those men and women are doing phenomenal. So
at seven twenty four we're going to get to break.
If you didn't see Quincy Lewis, google it when you
get to work. Just tell your employer you need less
than fifty seconds to see something in one of the

(18:47):
most phenomenal feats you'll ever see. Same thing with that
fifteen hundred meter run. You had two Americans come across.
That was just amazing to watch them push themselves to
the utmost limits to win it. This is the sports Radio.
We'll talk to you in a minute. Welcome back to
EAT Sports Radio. August the eighth, twenty twenty four. Seven eight. Anthony,

(19:11):
We've got your favorite caller on the other line, and
before we get to our next set, we're gonna take
care of him because now he has to work, he
can't call in every day. So Matt, bring on the
one and only AC to the show. AC.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Mister, mister, good morning, thanks so much.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Whether I'm gonna call real question always Ac.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Absolutely, Brother Anthony. How are you feeling, man? You know
you go ahead answer that question. How are you feeling man?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I'm doing well. How about yourself? Ac?

Speaker 3 (19:39):
I'm good good. You know, I guess so hyped up
I had I had a coffee this morning. You know
he gets me going. No, mister, I appreciate it. Had
a great shirt you had Wednesday. You have brother Frankie's
for the first time. I think this is the first time,
right am I right? A wrong?

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Well, he's done shows with us in Las Vegas. I've
sent he Anthony Zach Vine out to watch different pro
games for me, and they gave me reports at the
Summer League.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Okay, okay, this is my first time hearing the confidence
level is a little shaky, you know, Ac valuis. But
you know what I like the most, Brother Anthony, Your
confidence level is over the hook. I told me sure,
Heves via email. I like his confidence. You're sarcastic. That's
what I like the most. You know a lot of
callers that appreciate you. They don't say what I'm saying.

(20:27):
I'm a straight shooter. Man. I'll let you know how
I feel. Now, let's talk about a little business. Mister Eves.
Did you did you consider my football contest that the
genius idea I gave you? Or do you have something
better than I.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Didn't like it? Ac? With your team concept? How that? Oh?

Speaker 3 (20:48):
So you don't have mister g WILLI So you know
what mister jers William versus Eve. So you don't want
the ratings?

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Listen?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Come on, man, how can you that's a genius idea
I came up with you. Did you talk to Brother
Anthony about this?

Speaker 1 (21:03):
No?

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I did not, and you should, Brother Anthony brought your
dad to show you that email. I gave him one
of the genius ideas. Hey, we're gonna get rid of
pressor within three four months, we're gonna get rid of
all the show yours. Your radius is gonna go up,
you know. Let me say something about last week. Sure
you're ready for this, Okay, I'm ready, mister Eves. Let's

(21:27):
face it. Yeah, let's let's face it, mister Eaves. You
had about ten to twelve callers just because they you
had a contest this week. I don't see anyone even
if that tells you right sim life, everybody is in
their unemployment line because they cannot afford to live their lives,
so they wanna live off your sponsor's money. I'll let

(21:49):
you know how I feel. Hey, I told the show
there the unemployment line right now, they're collecting down with
some stiphen you know what I'm saying. That's terrible. How
calm You had ten to twelve callers last week? And
because you had a contest a C eighteen, Yes, sir,
a C.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Most people aren't like you. They listen, most people don't.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Then I call them the show. But that's all the
show and has a matter of fact, all your callers
they have no energy, no passion. That's like I'm listening
to the three am show.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Come on, I'm about to turn them loose on you.
A C. I've held the shows, all my callers I've held,
I let you.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
I let you know how I feel, you know how
you think you have. I don't care. I'm ready, you
know I'm mister, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sure. Let
me tell you, I'm the lion of your show. This
is my kingdom. And who's out there, industries? I'm sorry,
a C.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
I think I'm going to reevaluate because the A C.
I've been holding my callers off of you and A C.
I have women that want to strangle you, AC, and
I don't let them.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
And here's the thing about the women. Well, I'm not sure.
Check this out. You have ladies. They hate me, but
they don't call the show to let you know how
they feel. So I think they are more scared of
AC than ever been. I'm just saying they're all scared.
I'm the line of the and I cannot wait. I

(23:31):
could battle SIS and of them at the same time.
You know what I'm saying. They got nothing. Nothing I
can tell you right.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Here's the deal in AC.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
I like your confidence, brother, you know, I love your confidence.
But a C. I think in the calling my show
probably four or five years.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Probably three years, about three years.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Okay, here's the deal. A C. You haven't won but
one contest, AC, you're confidence A deal.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
I got the records, I got the record, the sports radio.
Who wants the March Madness content? Who wants the marsh
Madness contests? And and finishing third place this year, we'll
give you that.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
That's the only time you've been close. That only time
you've been.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
I love you because you come mester. I don't want
you to do because a lot of times a CEE,
you'll just give out scores because you just like to
give out scores. This year, a C, I want you
to give out your actual, true scoring. I want you
to be serious. Sometimes you give no Okay, So this
year when you give me a crazy score, a C,

(24:48):
I'm gonna call you out. I want to say, a C.
You know that has no chance. I want real scores
so that when you get beat my callers can say
they're crushing you. I don't want to know worst because.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
You do by mister Eves, I understand. But the thing is,
if you do the spread challenge, and if you you
can look at that email, you know people may not
I did.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Here's the deal, and I'm not going to the last
part of my show today. I proceed a C. This
has nothing to you. I did not know you were calling.
Tell people you didn't tell me. I didn't know. But
I want to go through my contest at the end
of the show. I swear to you. I told Anthony.
Did we talk about the contest this morning? Did I
tell you I was going to give out all the rules?

(25:37):
I'm telling you I'm going to a C. So we did.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
We didn't talk about.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Was that we didn't talk about it this morning?

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Oh? Yes? And I told you about the football contest
se Ac you like that and he tried the thing.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Thanks keep having him and give hello to all your
car hosts and including mister Cobby, my brother Andrew. They
forget to check that email I sent, mister Eaves. It's
a genius idea. I'm pretty sure gonna.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Grin loose on you. I'm gonna turn bland and loose
on you. I'm gonna turn Steve loose on you. I'm
gonna turn him. I've kept you.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Think about it. All the cars you just named, they're
just dogs and cats. I'm the lion of the jungle baby.
Come after me. They can talk about me. I've been
playing radio stations more than they have let me hand out.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I know you big time, but you gotta get back
to Okay.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
I'm gonna I want by this. What I'm gonna say,
before blood before your blood pressure, brother Matt's blood pressure
goes up. I don't want to be hold account bill.
So this is what I guess said. Let me broke hollow.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
I'll try to tell you he's crazy. No, someone just said, Anthony,
this is so funny. I'm telling you, AC is a mess.
Somebody sent this to me at seven thirty three. I
can't call in and comment on AC because I'm afraid
i'll say bad words or two on air. And I

(27:18):
promise you all, I'm reading this. This just came across
my phone. Ac. You bring out the best in people.
I'm telling you, I've kept women off of Ac. Anthony.
I'm telling you AC has no idea. There are women
out there that stop me and say if I could
ever get my hands on him. Ac. They love to
hate you brother anyway, Anthony. Yes, at the end of

(27:39):
the show, we are going to talk about the contest.
So we're already in seven thirty seven. Matt, let's get
to our second break. When we come back, we're gonna
play a little audio again of my favorite coach with
the highest integrity that you can ever imagine, Jim Harbaugh.
After the break, welcome back to radio. It's seven forty. Yes,

(28:02):
it is Thursday, August the eighth. I've got Anthony on
the other line. Anthony. Ac brings out the best in people.
I can tell you is my phone's just vibrating, vibrating, vibrating. Oh, Ac,
you're a wonderful person. Matt, we get to the audio.
What was that ant?

Speaker 2 (28:20):
But he's taking our rates up, you know, yeah, you know,
you know a lot of people dislike a people. You know,
most people they hate on you when you're doing something right.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
You know. Real Ac hadn't won a thing an and
he's been saying he's a predictor. Can't even get close.
He didn't even smell a victory. He's he's more confident
than I am on a golf course. Anthony hitting it bad.
He don't care what after the next week, he's gonna
call himself the predictor. But we're gonna bring Matt, bring
Ron onto the show, that Roan. We gotta have a discussion.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Hey Ron, Hey, good morning, good morning.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Somebody somewhere right at your cage.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Good morning.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Oh hi, Anthy, how are you?

Speaker 2 (28:58):
I'm doing good?

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Jerk, Jerry?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
What this?

Speaker 5 (29:01):
There's no like I mean, there's no humility anymore, is there?
I mean, no, the greatest of all time and all
the time the guy guys have a high opinion of themselves.
But he calls in, wants to change the rules, wants
to make the rules, don't don't ever win nothing. But

(29:22):
what's the line of the shows?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
A joke?

Speaker 2 (29:27):
You know?

Speaker 3 (29:28):
It's you know, I'm kind of like Larry Bird. You're
gonna talk to talk at some point.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
You gotta walk the walk, Okay.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I run, I agree with you this time.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
You know.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
He was a trash.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Yeah, but he backed it up. He went out there
and backed it up.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Run. I've never you know this a c He is
a mess. He hates k R, which is fine.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I love the guy.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
I love the guy.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Other two I love to hate Ac he is the
funniest guy. He sends me long emails, I mean long guys,
and he has his but you know, but he does
have to win some contest. Ryn. I'm sorry he hadn't
been close. You ain't, man, You just can't. You have to.

(30:22):
So he a lot of times he throws out crazy scores.
You know he does. I'm not gonna let him do
it this year. I'm gonna make him give me actual,
true scores so that we can evaluate him everyone. And
I mean, you'll ask my wife. You all think I'm playing.
They're women at Republic that want to strangle it. They say,
Jerry when he comes home sometimes I want to cut

(30:43):
you off. I just don't like the guy irritates me.
I'm like, no, you got to listen to AC. We
let everybody four letter words. If you speak properly, we're
not cutting you off. Even though we know a C boy, he's.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
The man.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
The man's you need.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
I give you there you go, there you go. He
he bugs. I heard him. I hardly ever listened to
Paul fine bomb, but I had him on and loading bold.
He put a C on. I said, well, he just
doesn't bother me. He bothers Paul all the time. He
calls Paul the same way. He is a mess. He

(31:24):
tells Paul, Yeah he did. He says, I'm raising your ratings.
He says he's going to get Paul to call my show.
That's what he said. Is a mess. But Ron Durham's Anthony,
since you're doing it first, we'll do the contest first,
and then we'll do Jim Harball, mister integrity last. Anthony,

(31:46):
here's the deal. This is your first football contest. But
we've had people doing this. We've been doing this for years,
and we've changed the rules a little bit every year.
But last year was the best year because Anthony, this
is how it goes roun. The callers call in, they
give their scores. I usually have a four team round robins.

(32:08):
Sometimes it's five round. I went and checked when it
was a big game, I would throw in two national
big games. I always have Kentucky and Louisa. Anthony always.
So we're starting this week Louisville Austin pitt Louisville, twelve o'clock.
This is August thirty, first Southern Miss at Kentucky at
seven forty five. Of course, I think I'm going to

(32:30):
do a coin flip to see which one is the tiebreaker. Anthony.
I usually use Kentucky, Louisville or Indiana as my tie
breaking game for my callers, but we haven't decided that yet.
But there will be a tie breaking game. The other
game that I already have. The biggest game, I mean
a huge game is Clemson at Georgia twelve o'clock on ABC.

(32:53):
That's the third game. I haven't decided if I'm going
to go Western Kentucky opens up at Alabama. Ron, I've
got for International at Indiana and you I'm not going
to say what you said about Indiana, Ryan, and I
got Indiana fans, right, Why don't we just won't we
just scratch Indiana. We can't just scratch. They got a

(33:15):
new coach. We got to give him a chance. Coach
sent to a chance, We've got to give him a chance.
Kurt sent us a new coach at Indiana. Let's give
him a chance. But Anthony, here's the kicker. Last year,
they play against themselves. No one is gambling because I
give away my money. They have nothing. They don't put
up a dime, Anthony. So they'll call in and I'll

(33:36):
give them four or five games. They'll give me their scores.
We will see who wins the most games. The person
to the closest combine winning team and combination points wins
the tiebreaker. If that's a tie, then they split the money.
But Anthony, at the end of that, always give them
an opportunity to double their money. So we started fifty

(33:58):
dollars for men, seventy five for women. That means if
the men win. If Ron wins and Ron won twice
last year, hundred dollars off me, then they get to
gamble against me again. They put no money up, they
just put up their winnings. If they lose, they get
nothing if I beat them, If they win, I double it.
So we're doing the same thing again this year, Ron,

(34:19):
So everyone knows. Let's say Ron wins and the game
is Ballard Male, the tie breaking game, the game that
they in each game, Ron, tell me something, Did I
use the same tie breaking game for everyone or did
I change that? What? Did hell? Did I remember the
tiber when I made them gamble against me? Game I did?

(34:45):
I gave different high school games exactly right, So Anthony,
I want to pull up the high school games again.
It makes people have to follow the teams here. That's
the part I like the best. It brought attention to
the high school sports. So I'm doing the same thing again.
I will pick a different high school game for each caller.
I put him in order as they call. That's the

(35:05):
games they get. I don't just pick and shoes. I
don't give RD the games I know he doesn't know
anything about. It's in order as they call, they get
that game. That's how it goes. It's gonna be a
great year again. If I beat everybody like I did
last year, I was wearing them out. I double the money.
I just give away people. I give away Mike Buyings
money and Courts money. And I love giving away Carney

(35:27):
gall Carney's Galleries money. Givry.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Let me say on, let me say one thing, Jerry, Okay,
go ahead, make no mistake about it. You're talking about
gambling money. That that's just money. That Jerry Eve's money
is the sweetest money out there. Okay, because I know
how bad he he hates the turn loose of it.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Around you, and I did not need that. I can't
wait to beat you. It's like water boy. Can I
hit him now, Coach? That's all I'm saying like, can
I hate him now?

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Coach, that's some sweet money that.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
We Oh, you won't get any that's for sure. I'm
gonna beat you every time. I am like Ac, I'm
the lion Roman in this kingdom. Can't wait, So Ron,
that is how it will go. We will not start.
Football does start the twenty fourth, if people did not
know it. August twenty fourth, college football does start, but
we're starting hours the week of the thirty first. That Monday,

(36:23):
I will have all the games in play. We will
start to take the calls. Women, you get a chance
to make more than the men, but you still compete
against the men. You have to have the winning score.
There's not a men winner, women's winner. It's one winner.
And that winners then comes to Jerry Eves. If they
beat me, they double their money. If they lose to me, Anthony,

(36:44):
and they lost last year, I give them a hard time.
It's so sweet when I pull that money out of
their hands, Anthony, it's so sweet. So it's some forty
nine Rod can't wait, and I'm gonna turn you all
looser on AC this year. It's the sports radio. We'll
talk to you all a minute. Welcome back, to Eves.
Sports Radio got Anthony Eves. It's fifty three after the hour,

(37:06):
almost time to be there if you have to be
there at eight. So an you understand the contest.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
No, I'm about to get a little further elaboration breakdown
for the contest.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
We will will slow it down for you. Yep, it's simple,
but we will slow it down. There's a few rules,
but we'll slow it down for you. But Anthony, I
want everybody again. We listened to it, I think two
days ago. We're going to listen to it again. Matt
please play. Jim Harbaugh, you got to listen to this
one minute statement. You'll just have to.

Speaker 6 (37:36):
Never lie, never cheat, never steal. I was raised with
that lesson. I have raised my family on that lesson.
I have preached that lesson to the teams that I've coached.
No one's perfect. If you stumble, you apologize, and you

(37:58):
make it right. I do not apologize. I did not participate,
was not aware nor complicit in those set allegations. So
for me, it's back to work and attacking with an
enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Thank you, bet yes, Well, all I can tell you
is this the NCAA put a four year show calls
on Jim Harbaugh yesterday, four years show calls, which means
layman terms. For university to hire him, they'll have to

(38:37):
go in front of the NCAA Board of Ethics and
say why they're hiring a guy that they know has cheated.
Why they have to hire this guy is what they'll
have to do. If it went poorly with the Chargers,
He's got eighty million dollar deal and he got fired
after two years and he wanted to come back to
coach at Eastern Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky would have to

(38:59):
go in front of NCAA and tell them why they
want to hire a cheater, a proven known cheater. So
my only issue with this anthony is this, before we
close this thing out, the NCAA will slap Louisville. It
took our banner away. I understand the rule. That's why

(39:19):
I told people ineligible players can't play and participate. They did.
That's why our banner came down. They've done the same
thing to the University of Kentucky. They've slapped them from
the fifties to the eighties with Rex to right now
the football program. They have hit Kentucky. But there are
a few programs, Anthony, are a few individuals you touched

(39:41):
on one the other day. There's no question Duke should
be on probation. On Zion Williams and loan proven parents
living in me and Dolla Holmes. This is before name.
It was in likeness proven, Anthony, These see cars proven.
But you know they don't touch Yazhevsky, period point blank,
with all kind of jewelry. People suing the players over

(40:03):
a jury they didn't pay for when they were in college.
Nothing crickets Michigan. This football program, how they allowed them
to participate in the championship last year, Anthony, was a joke,
And now they're making themselves look worse and worse as
they make the correct rulings on Jim Harball. But again,

(40:24):
Michigan's national champions. They've got their chest stuck out all year.
Look what we accomplished. Michigan coach Harball are cheaters, So
adlet director, Manuel, I want to see what you're going
to do. They have a new president on Young. I
want to see what he's going to do. Santo on you,
I want to see what he's going to do or say.

(40:45):
But bottom line, is the NCAA has a bunch of
cheaters that they have put up on a pedal suit
that they don't want to take down. This is Eve
Sports Radio. You'll have a great day. It's gonna be
a wonderful day outside. Great job, Matt Anthony, great job.
To talk to you all tomorrow. Bye bye.
