(01:30):
but I don't think there's a better There's a better
combination than that one.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
That absolutely lives up to all the hype. It was delicious, delicious.

I had a friend who just used them recently and
said they did a great job of State renovations. All right, So,
by the way, good debate here on the text machine
about Frank Franklin.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
You have a pretty good score. You have a I should.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
You have a pretty good approval rating about eighty percent
twenty percent. U say you're too negative, but that's good.
Eighty percent for the for this show is a positive approval.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
I would love to live in dreamland with those twenty people.
But Corey Price told me it has been seventeen years
since Louisvill's had a twenty point lead against Kentucky.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
So forgive me if.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
I'm a little out of character trying to think what
time was that, what team was seventeen years ago?
Speaker 5 (02:37):
That would have been two thousand and eight. That would
have been a Billy Clyde team. So so if that's
why I'm not used to being.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Checks out, all right, let's talk about a couple other
things here. First of all, I saw a stat. I
was fascinated by this. Sixty percent of American sixty percent
shant it we, at some point being their life, in
their life, be scammed for it least one thousand dollars. Wow,
at least one thousand dollars every sixty percent Americans will
(03:06):
be scammed.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
So I wanted to ask you, huh.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
There are only four of us, so it's going to
be hard to figure out the percentage what percentage of
people who on this show have any have any you
all ever been scammed for at least one thousand dollars.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
I'm looking at you.
Speaker 8 (03:28):
First, right, not one thousand dollars?
Speaker 5 (03:30):
No, not a no that you've been sec.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Good by a timeshare. That's thousands of dollars.
Speaker 8 (03:36):
I was I was given a timeshare, Okay.
Speaker 7 (03:38):
But I think that in itself, Yeah, given a time share,
it's like I was given a scam.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Yeah, So so you would say.
Speaker 8 (03:47):
No, not a thousand dollars. I mean we went we
talked about on the show that one guy that tried
to get me to pay because I missed for jury duty.
I think that was like four hundred dollars.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
You came close on that one.
Speaker 8 (03:56):
That was he scared me. I mean that one really
kind of scared me until he want me to pay
over the immediately, Like wait a minute.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
I do think ultimately it's mostly really older people that
that happens to.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
What about you?
Speaker 7 (04:07):
No, And I get like three voicemails a day from
spam I don't answer my phone and a barely check email.
So they're trying, but I feel like I'm it's gonna
be hard to penetrate this wall. I'm not paying attention
to any of that stuff. There could be real concerns
people trying to reach me and ignore them, Shannon.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Not that I'm aware of, unless they just took it
out of my bank account and I didn't know about it.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
What It depends on what your definition of scam is.
But lost money in a pretty big thing, that would
be what I have. But that was I know it
wasn't a scam, but I had I had something go
wrong that was a significant amount of money.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
It's very frustrating.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
I've allowed somebody to borrow money and they never paid
me back.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
It's more of a yeah, that's what I would say.
Mine was more like a swindle. I don't think it
was a scam, and I think borrowing money is a
different is different situation. But but you know, I invested in
something that was the person.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
The person ended up being a complete and ended up
going to prison.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
It seems pretty serious.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Yeah, So that was that was frustrating. One of those days.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
One day I'll tell that story because it's a pretty
fascinating story. But but yeah, not a scam, but sixty
percent was a number that absolutely shocked me. Ryan, And
it also tells you how we have to be very
careful to protect especially our parents, like our parents and
older folks, because it is amazing how successful it looks
like people are doing.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
AI also is going to be a problem in the future,
you know, people not knowing what's real and what's not.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
I mean, you can have that happen if you're not careful.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Sometimes I'll see something that's like UPS, please put in
your information.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
This package is blah blah blah.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
And if you hit reply, you'll realize, oh, that's not
a UPS email address.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
You know. That's like uh.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
But like if you first see it, you go, well,
I need my package, so if, of course I should do.
Speaker 7 (06:01):
That's the most important thing you can do is look
at the at after the email.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
A lot of times it's gibberious.
Speaker 7 (06:05):
But it'll say twitter at blah blah blah, Like just
make sure it's a real dot com.
Speaker 8 (06:10):
Yeah, we get a lot of these as realtors. They
try to say we need to pay something for our
training and licenses and stuff, and like I Drew said,
you just punch them who sent it to you and
it's at a Gmail address or something like that, you know, or.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
There'll be one letter difference. The thing you do have
to be uh, you have to be careful.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
Also if someone's ever trying to collect and they want
your info, say well, I follow you, you give me
my info. What's my because they should know it if
it's a real Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
I came very close on that once, had someone call
with the I R S and they were like, you
owe X amount of money and I was like, well,
it's conceivable I could owe X amount of money, but
they but then I was reminded, the IRS will never
ask you for anything on the phone. That's that's something
if you the IRS. Good tip for everyone. The IRS
will never ask you for something on the phone. They
(06:56):
will do it and they want never ask for a
payment on the phone. And actually they probably will never
call you, but they certainly will not ask you for payment.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
So that's always something.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
I did get an email from the Nigerian Prince one time.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
I thought those are usually those are usually easier to
figure out. Ryan high School Football Elite eight this weekend,
there are some massive matchups across the state. I think
Boyle County plays Highlands. That's a big one. You usually
are good at these. Are there any that you stick out.
Speaker 8 (07:23):
For you Middlesbrough and Pikeville. That's the game of the
one doing.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Well it is for me. But besides that one.
Speaker 8 (07:30):
I haven't looked. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
That's the thing you bring, that's you're you're supposed to be,
mister high school you have it not looked?
Speaker 8 (07:38):
No, I honestly have not looked. I've been you know
so well.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Thank you for that. Appreciate your Yeah, that one.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
I think Boyle County Highlands is the one with the
two highest ranked people.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
But there for high school football.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
This is a massive night as all these regional titles,
uh go on all around the state.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Who's up next? Donnie, Donnie, go ahead, don.
Speaker 9 (08:00):
Me, Hey, thanks for taking a call. This team's got
a bunch of issues. I mean, they're all over the board.
The talent isn't that great. You've got role players who
are not playing rows. You've got Away who is not
(08:20):
playing for UK, he's playing for NBA. He's got to
attack the rim. He's got to do what he did
last year and.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
He's not I mean, let me ask you a question, sir.
I'm not trying to, but you say that with such
confidence he's playing for the NBA, he's not playing for Kentucky.
I'm not even saying necessarily, Sairly, you're wrong. But how
do you say that with so much confidence? I mean,
do you know him? Like, how would you say that
knowing that's the case.
Speaker 9 (08:50):
I'm saying that as a fan. What I saw last year,
what I'm saying this year. His game is attacking the rim.
He's not even looking at the rim this year. That's
how I say that out of confidence.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
Okay, but I mean it might be could it be
the case that, could it be the case that that
could it be the case? That's what Mark Pope's telling
him to do. I'm not saying it is, But do
you know that that's because he's thinking about the NBA.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Okay, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 9 (09:20):
Okay, it doesn't matter. He's not doing what he needs
to do for this Kentucky basketball team. He's not a
jump shooter, but he shoots jump shots. If you come
into college you don't have a jump shot, chances are
you're not going to get one.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Well, I don't disagree with you. I appreciate the call.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
I don't disagree with you that he's not doing what's
best for the team, and I don't disagree with you
that he's not playing to his strengths.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
That's where we agree.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
I think it's probably just a little bit of pet
peeve of mine that when guys start to play bad
that we then start to assume it's because of their
care character, or it's because of their selfishness. Maybe they're
just playing bad, you know, Maybe they're just making the
I don't Maybe Mark Pope is saying I need you
(10:10):
to You did this last year, I need you to
do this this year.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
I don't know, but I do know.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
I do agree Drew that he's not doing the things
that are historys.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
That's a fact.
Speaker 7 (10:19):
And even when Frank Franklin was doing his random and ago,
he just left by the way he kept it on
the results like, I don't know what's going on in players' ears.
I know that some haven't gotten better, but I'm not
gonna speculate on if he's thinking about the NBA, because
I have no idea. I have what I can see
with my eyeballs.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
I will say he doesn't look happy. Ryan he doesn't
look like the more joyful guy last year, and those
things are all concerning, and I do worry about it.
The guy we've seen in the last five games, we're
not gonna win very much if he's our best player.
Speaker 8 (10:54):
Trey, he said, he's got to be the guy. He's
got to snap out of whatever funk he's in, whatever
is in between his ears he's having trouble with. He's
got to figure it out.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
You think it's the hair, Shannon, That's what yoga girl said. Yeah,
hair cut hair off to look professional. Maybe we needed
the hair to be long.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
That's right. I need him to look like a basketball player,
not a god that's gonna do my taxes for me.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
I will say, if he had that hair, we'd have
like six guys with the same hair, right, and it's already.
I really struggle with Johnson and Aberdeen because from afar
they look like from when they're dribbling it up and
you only see their back. One of them's number one,
one of them's number two. They have the same hair,
They're close to the same side. I really struggled drud
(11:35):
knowing which one is in the game at a given time.
Speaker 7 (11:37):
Cam Williams and Aberdeen can kind of look the same too.
Always sometimes it's not just a scoring or his hair.
I think on defense he has like concrete in his shoes,
like that Garrison clip. I mentioned this before if you
go back and watch it, Yes, Garrison is the star
of that video. But always feet are glued to the
floor and he could have helped out and did not.
So it's an effort, not just that the offense isn't
(11:57):
given him opportunities.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
Let me switch gears for a second. Let's say we
beat Vandy tomorrow. What happens then? Like, is this what
I mean? How does this fan base process four straight
wins and three straight sec wins.
Speaker 8 (12:12):
When they're ready to fireing and run hing out of
town right before?
Speaker 5 (12:14):
This is not just that all of us, I mean,
let's not.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
This is one I ain't putting on everybody else this show,
all four members.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Of this show.
Speaker 6 (12:23):
I mean that's actually true. Three of the No, you're right,
you're right, you have not given up. You were not raped.
But three of the four, including you, Ryan said we
need a change and it's time for a different coach.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
So I got, I love you, but you can't they
that's a week.
Speaker 8 (12:43):
Well, the scenario we said that was that they lost out.
Speaker 10 (12:45):
I understand that, but we you predicted it's why you
play the season.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
That's just which to be fair to Shannon, this is
what he said, but all three of us predicted not
only he would be gone, but then he would not
win these games.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
So again, we can't day it's weak. So what happens then?
Speaker 8 (13:02):
Okay, we a couple of weeks ago we wanted him
out of there. But now and it won't surprise me
if they go down and beat Vanderbilt tomorrow. I mean
the word trending up. I mean that's why the louisvill
game's exciting. Ri also because Louie's trending down and we're
trending up.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Stoopid.
Speaker 8 (13:18):
If he pulls this off, it's his best coaching job
since he's been here, better than the ten win seasons.
If he'd been able to pull this off.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Yeah, I'm not going that far. I mean, we we
we we found that's what happened. We looked pretty bad
for a lot of the year, and we started. Zach Calzan,
I'm not saying this, but it will be kind of
a rise from the dead.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Oh, absolute doubt.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
The turnaround will be his best coaching job.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Imagine you beat Bandy and your scenario, then you beat Louisville.
You've got a seven win team. It was going to
a bowl game, and if you win that, you got.
Speaker 8 (13:49):
Eight eight amazing.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
I mean, it would be amazing.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
It's not kind of crazy.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
It is part of the reason I'm focusing on we
Drew is everyone road.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
It wasn't like a people did pretty much everybody.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
Man, if we're honest, how many of you wrote him
off after the two and five start. I did a
poll at Whiskey Thie, Yeah, and two people held up
their hand that they still wanted him to be the
coach too.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
So it would be.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Drew a pretty miraculous turnaround. If they're able to win Saturday.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (14:20):
I mean, we're nine a half point favor so I'm
not acting like we're definitely gonna win, but it would
be a pretty amazing turnaround.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
And this is gonna sound like I'm taking credit from him,
but Cutter Bowley, man, it's not a one person sport.
But this is, in my eyes, all on him. There's
the complete you know, we're flipping switches in basketball. He
flipped a switch because It's not just what he's doing.
You see it on the players around him, you see
it on the sideline. These guys like each other, they're
like Stoops, and when Bowley took over, it's something completely
(14:49):
changed and he's getting better and better by.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
By the week. It is a huge part of it.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
I'll also note, though, except for the Tennessee game, the
defense has been really good since the Texas game. I mean,
and including with multiple guys. I mean we have I
think we have five starters out this week against against Fandy.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
That's my point.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
A quarterback makes the locker room wake up. I mean
literally everyone, the trainer, everyone gets excited because you have
a quarterback.
Speaker 8 (15:11):
They've definitely not quit. They've kind of ride around it.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
And back against the wall. I don't know if there's
anybody better than Mark Stoops. What he's been in these
situations has been very.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Good throughout history.
Speaker 6 (15:21):
At it a fub nine two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven text machine is seven seven two seven seven
four five two five four. We will take a break
and be right back here at Parlor Pizza. This is
Kentucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Waterback.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Here at Parlor Pizza two locations,
Richmond Road and in Hamburg. Twenty twenty five Best of
Lexington Pizza Happy Hour two to six Monday through Friday
with discounts on drinks. Thanks the folks at Parli Pizza. People, everybody,
how's your pizza? Is it good? You guys enjoy it? Yeah?
Well good, I'm glad to see it. A fub nine
(15:53):
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. I got uh.
I always get coving In, Catholic and Highlands confused, which
I don't know. I guess just because my Northern Kentucky
lumping it together. Boyle plays Covington, Catholic Highlands plays Corbin.
You got Saint X and Mayo tonight as well, and
of course Middlesborough and Pipeville. If Middlesborough wins. Just for
(16:14):
the record, wherever they play next week, I'm gonna go.
I think it's like Raceland. Where is that?
Speaker 8 (16:19):
Is that in that far eastern Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
It's not farther eastern Kentucky than Middlesborough, so we well,
I guess.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
It could be. Yeah, where is it? Ashland? Is Raceland
up there next to Ashland?
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Yeah? Okay, they played Paris, I think tonight.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yeah, So if I think we have to go to
whoever wins that game, Paris, I can get to either.
But if it's Raceland, then, as as Paul Simon once said,
I'm going to Raceland, I'm going to Raceland.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Ashland, Kentucky. I'm jealous.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
Your team still moving on. Mine got cheated, So I
guess I'm a Middlesborough fan.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Now, yeah, go Jackets would be nice. They haven't Shirtie,
they haven't been in like, uh in twenty years, so
it would be good. Back to UK.
Speaker 6 (16:59):
And for a second, three thirty is it on ABC?
Is that right or PESPN? So we got a nationally
Telesish James sold out, which they are.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
I mean, when's the last time a Kentucky Vanderbilt football
game in Nashville has been sold out?
Speaker 5 (17:16):
I never?
Speaker 6 (17:17):
I mean, do you know better than me?
Speaker 4 (17:20):
I don't know that for sure, but I would venture
to guess that it's been a very very long time.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
If and we talked about, if Vandy beats us, that
sets up a game with Tennessee with them where they
have a shot to make the playoff, but first they
gotta beat us. Do you I mean, there's a world
in which you could see that as a trap game.
Do you think they see it, you're a Vandy fan,
see it as a trap?
Speaker 4 (17:41):
They absolutely do not. And this will be the only
time in my life that Vanderbilt will be in the
conversation for the college football playoffs. True. So yeah, if
they're gonna do it, this is the year they're gonna
do it. They're not gonna see Kentucky as a trap game.
Speaker 8 (17:54):
There's been many games with Kentucky Tennessee Kentucky Vanderbilt game
down there in Tennessee where they are sixty percent Kentucky pans.
We used to pack that play.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Dandy has been the fans have been showing up. They
just sold out like a game earlier this year against
Charleston Southern. So I mean, even these little teams they're playing,
they're selling out there.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
We have a lot of guys out on defense. They
just announced now DJ Waller is out two. I mean
we have literally I think five of our eleven starters
out are the back I mean, we talked about the
secondary was gonna be hurt, but they've actually hung in
there pretty well a lot of these young guys. Is
tomorrow the day where you really start to see that
defensive issue.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
I'm very worried about it. I mean, the guys have
stepped up and played great, but they're just short on bodies.
I mean, they're missing so many cornerbacks. I'm really watching
Alex Safari. He hasn't been downgraded to I think he
still question Well.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
I have a source. I have an Alex Safari source
that's pretty good. If you would listen to this show,
you might know what it is. I'm gonna go ahead
and say a very good source to Alexa Fari who
told us yesterday he's played well.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
That's big because especially with how they play and him
kind being the quarterback of the defense, he's the best
defensive player outside of anyone on the defensive line who's
been good. If he plays, that gives me more confidence.
If he's out with five cornerbacks out, I really worry
about what Pavia can do.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
Yeah, I think I think he's gonna give it a go,
which I think would would help quite a bit.
Speaker 8 (19:16):
They need him because that defense is Yeah, they're gonna
limping in the end of this game. Someone could be
a shootout.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
Do we like Diego Pavia, Yeah, we do.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
I'm good kid, got good head on his shoulder nice
donident guys.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
You know, could he find a classroom on campus down
to earth?
Speaker 6 (19:35):
I have to tell you listen, just like everybody last
year Alabama game, I was fan of Diego Pavi. I
thought he was fun. I'm drew, I'm kind of over him.
I'm kind of over like he's a lot.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
I think in other words, he's good.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
That's why, because you hate people that are good.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
It's not I mean, yes, but that's not like I
like Johnny Manziel till the It's he's just good.
Speaker 7 (20:00):
He's what we needed Calsada to be. Cals Ada has
that same personality.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Just Diego's already got his money right.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Yeah, By the.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
Way, does Garrett does Garrett get a role in MVP
for UH for sort of uniting the fan base with
the whole Garrett video if.
Speaker 8 (20:13):
Getting kind of united the locker room too. They kind
of rallied around that.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
Kentucky wins one of these next two games and goes
to a Bowl game, we will be talking about the
Garrett moment ten years from now. That will be one
of those things that lingers with the fan base that
we can reference and everybody knows what we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
No, I think you're right.
Speaker 6 (20:27):
I just Diego Pavia and this is now true about
the cam Scattibo too.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
It's like a little bit went a long way.
Speaker 6 (20:34):
Like it's just like I heard Big Cat on the
part of my take say, he kind of thinks Pavia,
cam Scattabo and Theovonne are like the same guy, are
the interchangeable. He feels like he just they're They're everywhere
and it's the exact same guy.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
If Andy loses tomorrow, I'm gonna say that wasn't Diego,
that was theov out there playing quarterback.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
It's crazy. Theovonn is my age and they're saying like he.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Is Diego Pavia is a.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Senior Day tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (21:01):
He's gonna want to show out a day in Nashville.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Senior Day, Senior Citizen Day tomorrow in uh with with him.
Who's up next, Dennis, Dennis, go ahead, dinnitt.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
Well.
Speaker 11 (21:14):
One of my questions ya, y'all kind of went over
was what a percentage of Usually it's usually the bandy
games down there is usually it's a home home game
for Kentucky. But how you see that this year.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
I'd say ninety ten Vandy this year eighty five fifteen.
I mean, you got to remember when those tickets went
on sale to the general public earlier this year, we
stunk and they.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Were good, and then they sold out.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
So I'm gonna think it's gonna be vast majority of
and Andy fans, maybe for the first time ever.
Speaker 11 (21:47):
Yeah, I agree on one other thing, you're out.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
I was.
Speaker 11 (21:53):
I saw the the injury port for Louisville on social media,
and it was the enter that their quarterback min Or
Miles was lists to this question.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
I think I could be wrong. I think he's now out.
I think I saw this morning he might not be playing.
So I mean you may have a and I appreciate
the call. You may have a situation when we play Louisville,
by the way, when we might be playing their backup
quarterback and their top two running backs are out too.
I mean, we may be playing Drew a depleted Louisville
team next week, which gives us an even better chance
(22:26):
to pretend. I mean, if they lose to SMU this week,
and that means they come in on a three game
losing streak, it might be odd the team that may
be quitting going into that game is them and not us,
which would have seemed crazy three weeks.
Speaker 7 (22:40):
Yeah, this time of year, I think motivation is a
big factor. That's not a Mark Stoups joke. I generally think,
you know what the condition of the teams. Players are
looking to the portal. In some cases we don't have
a coach. Coaches are looking for the portal. That's why
I likes this against Florida. Louisville's getting that territory where
I wonder how much they're gonna care.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
They still have something to play for.
Speaker 7 (22:57):
But if they don't have a good week this week or.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
They're beat up, I can't have They can't make the playoff.
I don't think they can make the ACC championship. So
I mean when they play US, it's just gonna be
like a pride thing. And I don't know if they
lose to SMU this week, that pride may go away, right.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
We might. We might see like a team that's not
even there after.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
The last loss. That quarterby blamed everybody but himself. That's
kind of maybe maybe.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
Wise hurt this game in parentheses, We'll take a break,
be right back.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
It's KSR. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll
make them pay.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
No more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Here's not jes welk aback Tucky Sports Radio. Stop overpaying
for sunglasses.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
If you're tired of buy an expensive sunglasses only a loser,
break them. Shady Ray's independent American owned companies started right
here in Kentucky. Shannon's favorite song with also Shannon's favorite.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
Glasses, Shady Rays.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
Shady Ray's Got Tom Tangle Free, Aviator's favorite band, may
not be Your Fair.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
That was actually Darius Rutger singing s don't tiple Polots.
Speaker 10 (23:57):
I believe that's ter better shady version of that song.
It's better stop it, you reer of Scott.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
Why was Darius Rucker singing Stone Temple?
Speaker 6 (24:09):
It was?
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I think right Liam?
Speaker 5 (24:11):
It was.
Speaker 8 (24:12):
Yeah, and so many type people will see it online
and Shannon and I will get it sent to us
fifty times a day. Yeah, I wouldn't play it.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
No, that's fine.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
It's Shady Ray's best protection program in the industry. Lost
and broken replacements at shady rays dot com. Two things
we were talking about on the screen right up there.
It came up a Modello ad and I was saying
to you all Medello is now the highest selling beer
in America.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
Or at least it was last year. Bud Light may
pass it back this year.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
And that got us to talk about I don't drink beer,
but I always see bud Light, Miller like Cores Light,
michelob Light, Bush Light.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
To me, they all taste the same. But for you all,
that's not true.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
If you're an experienced drinker like Drew and I are,
you definitely know there is a difference between those light beers.
For me, if I'm going between those three cores Light,
Miller Light, bud Light, I'm going cores Light personally, But
it's all, you know, per taste.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
They probably have forty beers on tap. Miller Lite would
be my fortieth pick. You hate it, I don't hate it.
If I had to, I can get through it. But
I just it's like the one beer I will never order.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Really or indoors. Apparently now.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
You're not gonna You're not gonna endorse anymore to me
as a non drinker.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
If I ever.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Taste it, it all tastes awful to me. But like
I didn't, I thought they were all the same.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
You like the sighters, don't You don't.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Really like any of it.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
But if if I have to drink something, I'll drink
like but I can't.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
I just ain't Orchard.
Speaker 6 (25:33):
I don't know how you when you know diet coke
is in the world that you would voluntarily choose that.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
I don't know how you would choose diet.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I would do the opposite. I certainly would.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
The best beer is Shanning the Dude Brew.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
You USC and Troy is a basketball game that probably
none of you watched last night, but you do on
your way home, need to watch the end of the game.
It was it went to triple overtime. I'm not even
sure how that game went to but it was in
triple overtime. Troy is up by two. They're trying to
(26:08):
inbound the ball and they end up getting like they
can't get it in, so they throw it. USC goes
and gets the ball. Guy has a shot at the buzzer.
Troy guy cannot be playing any better defense. He ends
up having to double pump. He shoots a Mo diabat
shot from his waist, although that was like a normal
Mo diabate shot, but he shoots it double pumps and
(26:31):
it goes in for three and like if you watch it.
I didn't see any of the game, but you have
to feel sorry for Troy. They go from Troy Alabama
to LA they're leading, there's three seconds left and they
have the ball and they find a way.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
To blow it right. It was. It was brutal loss
for the team from Troy.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
Delute. It like that a guy Jack's won from his
belly button down and like that double pump that hurts
even more.
Speaker 6 (26:56):
There have been almost no Power Force score rules getting
beat this year, like almost none. A lot of that's
in IL because like now, the discrepancy between the leagues
are I mean, but there's been almost none. Part of
it is the good teams that are mid majors. We
talked about teams aren't even scheduling them, so like the
Belmonts of the world can't get games against good teams.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
But Pitt I think lost to a Division.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
III team, Arkansas almost lost to Winthrop. But for the
most part, the power schools in Sanford, but Arkansas is
almost lost twice. But for most of the part the
power schools Drew have not lost to anybody. But they're
playing each other and these games are good. The game
last night I think Saint John's plays somebody tonight, Like
(27:42):
there are good games out there, and next week all
the best teams are playing in these tournaments except us.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
Do you wish we would play in one?
Speaker 7 (27:52):
If you'd asked me nine days ago, I would say
yes right now. No, let's hide, let's get under the
table with Mark Pope right now. On the Troy thing,
isn't that? That's who we played last year and they
go to waffle house every game? So you're telling me
they had to go to La where there's not waffle homes,
travel all the way back and break tradition, because I
really I was last year. I really got to like
that Troy team even though they are.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
Then they lost the game. So yeah, are you glad
we're not playing in one of these tournaments?
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Next week? I mean next week? There are some the
Battle for Atlanta.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
There are some really good brackets out there where there
are like six ranked teams in a tournament.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Are you glad we're not doing it now?
Speaker 8 (28:28):
No? I have always been for that. I've always enjoyed
being sitting around your Thanksgiving vacation and watch Kentucky play
in one of these Thanksgiving weekend tournaments. So I know
Pope that he was gonna maybe get back to that, Like,
I'm sure these contracts are already made in advance, so
maybe we'll get back into a year or in a year.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
We'll find out all the contracts for Pope for terms
of scheduling were filled through this year. Okay, so like
col picked the schedule through this year, but starting next year,
these are games Pope agrees to. So really we'll start
to see what Pope's scheduling philosophy is really starting with
next year's season.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
Who's up next, Alex, Alex, go ahead, Alex.
Speaker 12 (29:10):
O guys, just a comment not necessarily defending the caller
in that earlier segment on O Way playing for the NBA.
I also don't know what's in his head or who's
in his ear. But Mark Pope did have a really
interesting comment in a press conference. I can't remember if
it's been covered here if you heard it after the
Louisville game, but somebody asked about always struggles and he
went on a ramp for a few minutes. But in
(29:30):
his answer he made a comparison to Tom Brady, saying,
imagine if someone had told Tom Brady he can't run
the ball. Like Mike Vick, and then Tom Brady decides
to change his game and run the ball more. And
that actually does sort of suggest to me that maybe
somebody don't know NBA scouts whoever, maybe say that he
does need to prove that he can hang out on
the wing and be a true shooter, and so maybe he's.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
Yeah, I didn't hear that. I mean, so you're saying
he said that after the Louisville game. Yeah, okay, Well
I didn't hear that.
Speaker 6 (29:59):
I mean that I would say, though, if an NBA
scout told him, and he and they may have. I
think they did tell him to shoot three more threes.
I'm not saying though, that's why he's playing poorly. I
assume Mark Pope is telling him to do what he
needs to do Ryan to be good this year.
Speaker 8 (30:15):
He like he's forgotten what got him to this point.
He'd forgotten that part of his game. Yeah, if you
want to shoot some more three, well, he was hit.
He hit two against Michigan State. He hit what two
out of four? Even though he's got an ugly shot,
it's broke, but he's still hit two out of four.
He's forgotten that other part of his game that made
him so successful.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Yeah, I mean it's not.
Speaker 6 (30:31):
I don't think Drew he's taken an irrational number of threes.
I think it's just the thing that he's has done
so well, he's just not as good at I think
you actually made a really good analysis of that, and
we should watch this tonight.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
He used to catch the.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Ball and be gone immediately, and you're right, it's like
he pauses now. Like you're in the NBA, you see
guys do and tries to shake people, and that's really
not his game.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
I don't think he's good enough to do that. You know.
Speaker 7 (30:58):
Yeah, go to YouTube type n oh wait highlights from
last year and that guy's not on the team this year,
at least not right now. Because it was just instant.
He'd get it in boom, finishing through traffic. It's like
he was the aggressor. He was the creator, and this
guy's sitting around waiting for a lot to happen.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
Oh.
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Of that is still the overall offense. But he could
also get it started by doing what he did a
season ago.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
Let's do something positive. Yesterday, UK signed and confirmed the
number four women's basketball recruiting class in the country. You
can give that a round of a blast.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
I mean that it is.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
The highest ranked UK women's basketball recruiting class ever. It
includes I think three young women ranked in the top
thirty and one in the top ten. You know, this
team's young this year. Kenny Brooks. I mean, they're good
this season, but they're like set up Drew to be
(31:50):
really good in the next couple of years. He is
quietly building a team that I think is gonna be,
maybe starting next year, the second best program the SEC,
behind South Carolina. I mean, they are set up to
do that.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
Yeah, it's such a tough league that he had to
move to and and you know, start towards the bottom.
But he did a quick job climbing. I think he's
just going to continue to climb. And he did what
we didn't have for a long time. As he's trying
to get size. You know, he's got three right now
that he calls the Big three or whatever he calls them.
But you know, to win in the SEC, you know,
that's where most of the size is in the women's game,
and he came in knowing he had to compete with that.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
They played Louisville to borrow, isn't it tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Yeah, it's up against the Kentucky football game, right, I
think that is it.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
It's it two okay on ESP what it's on the
c W really along with like the Bernie Mac Show
or something.
Speaker 5 (32:43):
It's on the c W.
Speaker 10 (32:45):
That's the lead in Wow seventh Okay.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
The Wow Okay, So anyway.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
So we played Louisville.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
We played Louisville on the c W right in between
the live tour and uh so we play at two
o'clock and then then I mean that's a huge game.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Both teams are ranked.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
Yeah, you know, we haven't talked a lot about it,
but a big chance. I mean, Kenny Brooks is scheduling
philosophy this year has been clear like we ain't gonna
play that man good teams.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
We're gonna kind of.
Speaker 6 (33:15):
Sit back and wait for the SEC. So this is
a chance early on Ryan for them to get a
big win.
Speaker 5 (33:20):
I think we all feel like a game's there, right,
It's it's there, Okay.
Speaker 8 (33:24):
A Final four is in the very near future for
this women's program.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
MA.
Speaker 8 (33:27):
I don't know if what happened issue, but it's coming
for the first time ever in school history. They'll make
a final four.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
The men's soccer team.
Speaker 6 (33:33):
I don't know if anybody watched it last Did anybody
see the men's soccer game last night?
Speaker 5 (33:38):
Just me and Drew?
Speaker 6 (33:39):
I guess it was sad, so I turned it on.
It said nine minutes to go. Kentucky's won nothing ahead
in the NCAA tournament at Saint Louis.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
So I turned it on.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
We get Saint Louis's announcers because the game is there,
it's foggy, it's misty, it's rainy. The Saint Louis people
are like, we haven't lost at home in four years.
This can't be happening. The Lord is against us, like
I mean, they're very they're very sad, and it looks
like we're gonna win. And then with four minutes to go,
(34:11):
this guy kicks it, kicks it to the goalie. It
is in the goalie's hands like it could not have
been more in his chest. And we have a goalie
that's like one of the top goalies in the country.
Remember I kicked against.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
Him last year.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
Couldn't get anything past him.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
I know, so I know he's good.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
I couldn't kick it past him. Even me and it
went right off his chest. He was literally like, oh,
like he was holding a baby and it went right
off his chest and then squirted to the side and
went in. It was It was an absurd goal. And
then we went to extra time, we had a guy
get sent off, and we end up losing two to
one in overtime.
Speaker 7 (34:50):
I was already ready to celebrate, and then when there's
four minutes left in soccer, you're one, Oh, you're feeling
good and you hate to put a season, inning tournament
loss on one person, but you gotta make that's say.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
I don't know how it didn't make. It was brutal,
it was.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
And the announcers. I hate listening to announcers of the
other team when you're rooting and they're like, oh, you
can't stop a billicking at home, and I was like shit.
Speaker 7 (35:11):
And when extra time started, they just had all the
confidence in the world.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Too, since we brought our play by play guy.
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Yeah, no, he won one game, one game, but he's
one and two. I think we'll take a break. Eight five,
nine two, eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We are
here at Parlor Pizza's KSR.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
Welcome Back final segment. Here Zacky Sports Radio Parlor.

It's time for our KSR parlay. We have not won
since the first two of the first three weeks, but
we're still up on the year. As long as we
were even. You can lose these last two and we'd
still would be up. But let's get one.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
We got it.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
On the way home. People get mad because they say
I take all the good ones by going first. So
I'm gonna go last this time to give you all
a chance.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
And which one do you want?
Speaker 4 (36:42):
We are going to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, a big
Robberry game between Duke and North Carolina. Bill Belichick may
not even be there. He may be at Jordan Hudson's
adult cheerleading competition. He has checked out. I have taken
Duke in the six and a half points on the road.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
I'm good with that one. I'm good with that one. Uh,
you're gonna take Duke? What about you, Drew?
Speaker 5 (36:59):
I'm getting crazy?
Speaker 8 (37:00):
Are you already?
Speaker 5 (37:01):
You want a good one? Well, it's not gonna be
as good as me picking the Texans to win last night.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
I took you that long two hours to take a
victory lap.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Yes, that was a big win and that's gonna pay
for my weekend. But go ahead, buckle up, boys.
Speaker 7 (37:15):
We are going with the Hilltoppers at LSU. Bring It
Spreads twenty two and a half nuss Myers out. LSU
is in shambles. They haven't scored twenty five points in
a game since early September, and the spread is twenty
two and a half. Western will not win, but we
just got to keep it within twenty two. Go Hilltoppers.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
Wow, you're taking Western to cover.
Speaker 7 (37:35):
And motivation season and LSU is a wreck. They barely
scored twenty against Arkansas West.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
That's a that's it. That's it now. That is a
gutsy pick. What about you?
Speaker 4 (37:43):
What your hockey pick tonight?
Speaker 8 (37:44):
Not for the parlay, but Michigan Hockey will cover one
and a half over Ohio State. Got that one?
Speaker 5 (37:51):
You won it last week for the parlay.
Speaker 8 (37:54):
I got Georgia Tech covered the two and a half
over pitt at Georgia Tech.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
I like that one too. That was one I consider okay.
So I'm good with all these. I'll top it off
with a game I think it is ugly. Tennessee wins
by all. He needs to beat Florida by more than
four and a half. I think they win by twenty.
Speaker 8 (38:11):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Florida is getting the credit for having played better than
than that people thought against Old Miss.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
This is when you then go the counterway.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
Uh, So I'm gonna take Tennessee to cover the four
and a half again at Florida.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
This sounds like a winner to me.
Speaker 6 (38:24):
Tennessee hasn't beaten Florida or see me, Florida hasn't beaten Tennessee,
I think in a long time. So so we got
that leaves Tennessee. Duke uh, Western Kentucky and Georgia tech
as our ks r har.
Speaker 5 (38:39):
I feel I feel pretty good about that.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
In North Carolina, North Carolina, you picked Duke, Yeah, Duke,
I'm sorry, Duke in North Carolina, Duke, you're right, Yes.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
We just need Western. Which team do you, Duke?
Speaker 6 (38:51):
Duke?
Speaker 5 (38:51):
Okay, just making sure who's up next? Randall? Go ahead? Randall.
Speaker 13 (38:58):
Hey, Manu, you mentioned the other day that the ball
team could go to Europe or G League to get
a point guard with lobying out. What's the deadline on that?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (39:10):
I mean, I would have said the deadline is the
start of the semester, but then we had the situation
with Big Z where he came in, like you know,
November so started, So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
I assume from everything I've seen, you.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
Could go get a guy and they could start playing
second semester, but I don't know, which is partially why.
If Jalen Low is gonna play, I'd like to see
if he could try before December, so that if you
needed to, you could go get somebody. But as to
whether or not they're considering it, I honestly I'm not sure.
Speaker 13 (39:41):
I been Travis Kirk is really kicking theirselves.
Speaker 5 (39:46):
Well, I mean it would have been nice to have Travis.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
I appreciate the call, but I don't think he would
be the answer to our question, to our issues, right.
I mean, I'd rather have Jasper Johnson playing back up
point guard than Travis Pear. Travis Perry, I don't think
solves this team's issue, to be honest with you.
Speaker 8 (40:03):
Yeah, you know, we talked a little bit about Jasper.
You know, he only played like nine minutes, but he
did have three assists. So he is a guy that
I think can come in as needed as a backup
to facilitate the offense. The Aberdeen's the guy have been
disappointed on his offensive end. Great on the defensive end,
disappoint on the offensive end.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Well, he is our leading scorer, though we had.
Speaker 8 (40:19):
That one big game like the game against Michigan State.
I didn't think he did anything to help us offensively.
Speaker 7 (40:23):
Sure, our leading shot blocker is who since some people
on the team don't how to jump on defense, Colin
Chandler leads a team in shotblocks.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Huh, well right away, I need I need Triton Noah
to make some shots. Yeah, I mean Trentonoa's got it.
Trent Noah's got to make shots like that. This team
needs that. We talked about Cam Williams and he's made
a couple since then.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
Trenton Noan needs to make him. Who's next, Daniel, Daniel?
Go ahead, Daniel, Hi match?
Speaker 14 (40:50):
Just to follow up phone call I talked to you
Tuesday when I was driving up to the game, and
I had ended that call with asking you to please
not have a stinker game? And what did I get?
A stinker game?
Speaker 9 (41:00):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (41:00):
Well that's how it goes. You guys have just talked
about the subject that I was gonna bring up. Yes,
why can't Jasper Johnson be our point guard?
Speaker 6 (41:11):
Well, I mean I think he can. I appreciate the call,
and I think like it'd be good. He's really good.
But I also think he's got to be better on
defense and We've got.
Speaker 5 (41:23):
To see him be able to really facilitate and share.
I mean, I think he's.
Speaker 6 (41:26):
Gonna get some chances, right, I think he is now.
I think if Jalen Low's not playing your Mark, Pope's
gonna go. Look, we could maybe use this, So we'll see.
Speaker 8 (41:34):
Yeah, they tried to Colin Chandler experience at point guard.
That didn't work out so well. So I think now
their rotation is Aberdeen and then Jasper.
Speaker 5 (41:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (41:41):
All right, so let's talk about the week in a
hit basketball play Tonight against Loyola Maryland.
Speaker 10 (41:47):
