sponsored as always by the TJ. Smith Office called TJ.

I've got it. I've not got it unlocked yet, but

(01:23):
the number is I'm not gonna look five O two
seven three five three six eight zero. That's our a
vision glass text machine. We'll get to that. It's been
really good. I'm glad they did that so we can
have a little text machine number. While Matt is on break.
Matt took off yesterday. I'm not sure where he is
as of today. He was flying to Rome. He may
have I don't know, maybe flew all day. So hope

(01:44):
he's in Rome. Hope he's in Rome. Hope all's going well,
and hope he has a great trip.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Yeah, Little Jealousy's over in Rome while we're here at
chs Bar. Nice day, chas Bar. I'm not too mad
that I'm here.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Very true.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, was it day three of the Ron limit experience?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Here we go day three.

Speaker 6 (01:59):
I need to ask you earlier in the week, you know,
he said, he does five Uh, you know websites for research?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:05):
You are you hitting those five?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
I'm hitting probably more than five.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
What were there?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
They were KSR ks R I do? Uh, I still
do l e X eighteen and ky T.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
Were mats five he did KSR the Herald Leader.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Herald Leader. I did subscribe to Herald Leader. So you did?

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Oh yeah, ESPN, ESPN, Huffington Post, uh and Barstool Daily.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
I get daily Mail. I get stories from Daily.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Mail, Daily Mail. No, is that is that from the UK?
Like United Kingdom Daily?

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Yeah, he's international.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Sends me all these stories from daily Mail. So it's
British British cly Mail. Well, like Drew said, it's a
great day here at ks Barn Grill. It's an awesome day,
but get ready for traffic armageddon in the city of
Lexington for the next four days. High school graduations are
starting right now. Lafayette is graduating right now and Drew,

(03:00):
you said the traffic was ridiculous trying to get through downtown.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
One way come in this direction by Rup. It was fine.
They got to figure out that left turn from Broadway
going toward Reperena. It looked pretty nasty for anyone heading
towards downtown from Broadway Harrisberg Road.

Speaker 7 (03:14):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
But yeah, it's we see it every year when the
graduations happened. Downtown becomes a mess. And I guess this
is the first one of several.

Speaker 8 (03:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
I don't keep up with these things.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, lafayettees at ten, Dumbbar at two, Tates Creek at six,
so they got him in, get them out.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
If you're going, add thirty minutes whatever, so to whatever
time you're planning to leave.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
So at about twelve twelve thirty, all the Lafayette people
are gonna be leaving Rup, and all the Dumbbar people
are gonna be trying to get to Rup.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
All right, So I'm certainly not going that way home.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Do not go that way home. It gets worse tomorrow,
Drew Franklin. Okay, he Douglas Frederick Douglas at ten, Brian
Station at two, Henry Clay at six, and oh yeah,
the UK baseball games at noon, and oh yeah, all
the railbird people be coming in cul it starts on Saturday.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
We're gonna have fun little Pepper out here tomorrow. I'm
excited about if we can all get here with the traffic.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Now, that is gonna be cool. We're gonna do our
show here tomorrow morning from ten to twelve like a
UK football pregame show. May even do it outside. I
get a good idea about maybe doing it outside. And
then the game starts at twelve. We're gonna have a
watch party, but we're gonna open the doors to the
restaurant at ten am. We're opening in an hour early,
so when we start the show, Boom Place will be open.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Thank you to our wonderful servers and cooks and everyone
coming in an hour early after their Thursday night. I'm
gonna make sure everyone's ready to be served before the game.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Have a little watch party then for the game. Afterwards.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Game is kicking us off at eleven forty five of
those they can get over to Darren in the official pregame.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
That is true on WLAP WKRD will be kicked off
for the last fifteen minutes of KSR.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
It's all right, it's for a bigger cause than KSR.
It's in cuaaaseball.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
So did you get your transportation logistics worked out?

Speaker 6 (04:54):
You know, I'm kind of more of it. Let's just
we'll figure it out as we go. Guy, I'll get there.
Maybe a scooters Coooter's not out of the question.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
Scooter actually could be a great idea.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
Chris who calls the show. Yes, when we hear from
Chris lot, he offered to drive me. Chris is a
friend of mine, might do that.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
We'll see your personal uber drive.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
I don't want to make Chris do that, but we'll see.
It was nice fing to offer. We'll get over there though,
I'm not gonna miss much. You're staying here.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
To keep stay here and have lunch and watch the
big game here. If it's part of our watch party.
I think not only will there be a great crowd
at Kentucky prow Park, I think there'd be a great
crowd here of people watching the game.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Yeah, especially maybe head and over Come by first. Today
at nine am is when the tickets went on sale.
If you're just trying to buy a single game, okay.
Earlier in the week was buying the all session told
you I didn't have a lot of luck there, plucked
in some friends helped me out, But today was if
you just want the singles, and I was just looking.
I don't know how quickly they're gone or if they're
even left. But there were some still general missions for

(05:47):
tomorrow and then on through the weekend. So if you
if you don't mind taking your own chair, it looks
like you can still get in the building.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
So Shannon, so tomorrow at eleven forty five if people
want to hit the here the last fifteen minutes of
the show, we need to check out that iheartstream out
of Summerset again.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Right, Yes, that is twelve forty am WSFC.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
I think it is.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I'm just happy that this baseball team is getting the
attention they deserve and you guys are doing that pep
rally out. There should be a lot of fun, So
come out early, do your pre gaming stuff, head on
over to the game if you've got tickets of not
just hang out at the bar all day and watch
the games.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I think a lot of people will come here when
we open at ten, stay for an hour and then
go to Kentucky prow Park. You know like it'll be
like the football tailgate pregames people do.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Yeah, can we put you through a table to get
the energy up like we did years ago?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Cash Daniel wants to come around pull me through a
table that helps getbody.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
That would be more appropriate, maybe to hit you with
a baseball bat, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Break the rule that's true, like sting or something.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
You know, you know you probably saw worldwide. Todd Harris
already has his tailgating trailer parked over by Kentucky prow
Park going setting up for tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Yeah, he's doing a Saturday.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Tomorrow late and graduates tomorrow, graduations.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
Future UK baseball, yes, hopefully star Yeahy Shannon mentioned the
park even though it's we call it new, it's five
years old now right twenty nineteen with COVID and everything.
It's just now hitting it strout of your rights to be.
You know, it got the postseason last year. I'm not
at every game, so I don't want to speak for
the experience throughout the whole season, but that kind of

(07:20):
felt like Kentucky Proud Parks coming out party. We're here
hosting the regional. Now they've added those left field bleachers.
I'm ready to see it again.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Yeah, so it'll have been a lot of the action tomorrow. Again,
if you're coming into town, give yourself a lot of
extra time and do not drive through downtown. That's just
the best advice we can get. Lets you're going to graduation,
less you're going to graduation, do not drive downtown. Drive
here to Ksbar. Now before we move on, there are
still some parking spots available here for Railbird. I tweeted

(07:48):
out the link again this morning. We've got less than
ten spots available for Saturday and less than ten spots
available for Sunday, So that could save you a lot
of headache and heartache if you want to just go
ahead and take advantage of that what we have here.
But we will still have parking spots available if you're
wanting to come to ks Bar or any of our
neighboring restaurants, have lunch, hang out, watch a UK game.

(08:09):
You canna sneak over real bird, that'll be a big negative.
I'll be I'll be hanging out here, I think most
of the day watching the baseball games.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
You know what a Chris Stapleton guy.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
I love Chris staple con I don't have tickets is
the main reason, but I love Chris Stapleton. Yeah, you know,
maybe he might want to just pop in here for
a couple of cheese logs before he goes and performs.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Too bad we don't have a show on Sunday. I'm
sure he'd stop buying talk to us. I'm sure he
would want to waste his voice.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
So the news of the day, obviously is that there's
no news on Jackson Robinson.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
I mean, did he pull Hamadu Diallo.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
And just forgot what he's doing to withdraw his name
from the NBA drafting? What's going on? Dude?

Speaker 6 (08:49):
He had until eleven fifty nine fifty nine last night
to uh to let the NBA know and college know
if he's going back to school. I think everyone assumed
that also meant he would let Twitter know, which is
why Kentucky fans myself included, we're hitting refresh all day.
But it got to the midnight hour with zero news publicly,

(09:10):
and now it is ten to twelve am the next
day and as far as I know, there's still no news.
So there's lots of ways you can look at it.
You can look at it as he just stayed in
the draft and didn't feel like telling anyone. You can
look at it as maybe you'll have a big surprise
announcement today. Who knows, Really, no one knows. That's the
point we thought we would have our answer. We even
said over the week, everything will be clear Thursday morning,

(09:31):
and it is not clear. He left us all hanging
last night.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
I guess, Shannon. There's two trains of thought. One, like
Drew said, he left his name in the draft and
kept it to himself because maybe he didn't want to
hear the backlash of fans like why are you doing
You're crazy, You should go to back to the UK
or go to the back to be going whatever.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
And if you're staying in the draft, you don't have
to do anything. You're just in the draft.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
Deadline meant nothing.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Deadline meant nothing. But if he pulled his name out
of the draft, the train of thought as well, maybe
he's trying to go ahead and work out the nideal
of the school he picked before he announces where he's going.
You know, maybe there's some negotiations going on this morning.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Then there's the third train of thought, which is mine,
is this is an opportunity to shine a spotlight.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
On me, me, me, me me, And that's what it
is right now, because that's what we're talking about. So
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, I guess if he did stay in the draft,
he doesn't technically have to say, well, he doesn't have
to say anything regardless, But maybe his thought is he's
going to stay in the draft and there's nothing to say.
But he knows that everybody wants to know his decision.
It's not like he's oblivious to that fact.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
So if he is.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Coming back to college and he hasn't said anything, I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I don't know the kid.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I can't say that it's you know, him just trying
to make it all about himself.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
But it feels that way in my opinion.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
It seems like somebody connected with the draft of the
NBA would have leaked it out to somebody.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
That's the thing. I mean, agents, people talk, yeah, and
even if it's not his agent, and other agent finds out,
they put it out. So it's a little surprising something
didn't leak. If he made a move exactly like I said,
you would think these kids have to know how many
people were watching them, Like I hit refreshed so many
times yesterday, I was on KS board. I fell asleep

(11:12):
at ten o'clock with my computer in my lap. I
woke up and it was after midnight, and I didn't
know if anything had happened yet. So it was a
long day for Kentucky fans. Do you think these are
any fans b Yu fans? You think these kids might
They have to know, so many people are waiting. Yeah,
so to just do nothing that was a bit odd,
but you know, that's his life. We'll see what happens today,
or maybe not see what happens today. That's what's wild

(11:33):
about it.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
There was no way I was gonna stay up again
like we did for Hamadou Diallo. It just wasn't And
I'm glad I didn't now because since nothing happened. So, yeah,
you get up first thing this morning, you grab your phone,
you look, did it happened? Why nothing happened? And here
we are starting to show at ten o'clock this morning
and still nothing has come out.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
Diallo missed the deadline, but he put out a tweet,
so he at least let fans know his Twitter followers.
But he didn't do the paperwork. If I'm not mistaken,
the NBA even kind of gave him a little grace, like, well,
you announced it, you know you're a little late with
the paperwork. We'll let it count. But there wasn't a
peep anywhere from Robinson.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
So we are all right, So what do we do now?
What's we just said?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
We wait?

Speaker 6 (12:10):
We is and Drew Franklin and Ryan Lemon and Billy
are sports walking in. We just keep searching his name
on Twitter, waiting for its text to pop up, waiting
for any piece of news. If you're Pope, hopefully you
have a pretty good idea behind the scenes. And if
he's not coming, we keep mentioning the Wooga Poplar, Miami guy.
He pulled his name out of the draft, so he's
floating around out there. He intends to visit Kentucky. I

(12:32):
think he's visiting Oregon coming up. So I mean, you
got some backup plans. But as far as what we
do with Jackson Robinson, we're all just looking at each
other wondering why there's not news yet.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Kobe Braan did pull his name out of the draft
and reconfirmed his commitment to Kentucky. That news didn't come
out yesterday.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
He was the fourth one to do to do such
and be.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Honest, I wasn't even didn't even know he was in
the draft pool. But good for him to test the waters,
kind of figure out how maybe it'll help him for
next year the draft. But if Jackson Robinson does not
come to Kentucky, that kid Kobe Braa may end up
being the leading scorer. So at least we got one
out of two yesterday.

Speaker 6 (13:06):
Bray's gonna light it up. You still want to add
another one. We set that all along, and we like
Robinson because is the continuity with Pope going back to Byu.
I'd take Poplar at this point. I mean I would
have taken Lanier if he were ready a week ago.
It's just I want to get one more piece done
and move on because it's been a long wait for
this last spot. Maybe another one after that.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
So the Jackson Robinson watch continues another day. We thought
he was gonna it was over yesterday. One more day
of the Jackson Robinson Watch.

Speaker 6 (13:32):
And if he's in Utah, he's probably sleeping.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Like that's true, it's still early.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Maybe that's why we.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
Have making that excuse. Last night I was like, well,
it's nine o'clock here. Maybe he's eating dinner there. We
are still nothing.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Uh, Ryan, Drew and Shannon. Billy our Sports is getting
ready to join us. We'll take our break, come back
with a lot of news and from Louisville yesterday involving
the Scotti Scheffler incident. Will hit that, and then we'll
go to our phone lines eight five nine two eight
oh two two eight seven. It's eight five nine two
eight oh cats. We'll be right back. This is Kentuky
Sports Radio. No news is right on the Jackson Robinson front.
If we wait, the Jackson Robinson Watch continues right Leman, Drew, Franklin,

(14:06):
Shannon the Dude joined by Billy R Sports for this segment.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Did you come through downtown? Is the traffic still ridiculous?
It's a mess. It is an absolute mess right now,
so steer clear of downtown. Glad to be joining you, guys.
Three hours of radio is a lot, so Shannon does
it every day, a lot of radio Shannon does. She
does seven hours of radio a day. Shannon gets carried
on the pre show, so let's all calm down.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
Carried all right. A lot of news out of Louisville yesterday.
We had to get to it. So Bill, I'm glad
you're here because you're a resident golfer like Drew Scottie.
Scheffer was cleared of all charges, including second degree assault
of an officer yesterday in Louisville. Before we go any further,
just I think we probably all agree maybe the best
thing overall for Scheffler and for the city of Louisville. Drew,

(14:52):
what do you think? What was your takeaway from it?

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Yeah? I mean, me, who has no part of it,
was ready to move on, just as a fan, because
anytime it was brought up, I would get on the
Internet and it was just Louisville being made fun of
everywhere you look. I mean, I like to pick fun
of the Louisville Cardinals, but I don't like when the
whole golf community is dunking on Kentucky. So I'm just
glad they're they're moving on. It seemed both sides we're
we're good with it. They even I learned what it

(15:15):
means to dismiss something with prejudice yesterday. Ryan, Yeah, I
got admit, had to google that a little bit. With
come back It's done forever. They added that at the
end of it. Uh So both sides agreed, we're dropping it.
It's over. I'm sure we will have the clip dialed up.
Ye enjoyed hearing for our boy boy Romans. I think
that was the big takeaway. But just with the Scheffler

(15:38):
detective Gillis thing, it seems both of them wanted to
be over and it will hopefully be over now that
they dropped it yesterday.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Billy, Yeah, I thought this was gonna be the natural conclusion.
That's why the prosecution not wanting the delay of the
arraignment with I thought was so strange. And then you know,
when we got the video that you know, obviously there
was an incident before what we saw in the video,
but that just felt like it was completely different than
what the officer was saying. So I think we were
all headed for this conclusion, but it did end a

(16:05):
little interestingly yesterday.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Shannon, Yeah, I mean, I think this is the thing
that we all thought was gonna happen, just happened a
little bit later than what we I think intended or
you know, originally thought was going to happen and what
should have happened. So I just love the statement that
came out from the detective, which we'll read here in
just a minute. But yeah, I'm glad that we can
all finally put this behind us.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Okay, So Jefferson County Attorney's office filed a motion to
dismiss the case, admitting his claim that was simply all big,
one big misunderstanding and now corroborated by evidence. Well, Ben
after they walked out of the courthouse, then it blew
up again. We like Steve Romines. He's been on this
show many many times. He's hosted, hosted, Hey Kentucky, played

(16:48):
golf of them. This is the first voice you're going
to hear in this clip is Nntalia Martinez. He's a
reporter for Way three News. She's the female voice, and
then the male voice is Rominds you're going to hear.
But we have to play this clip because this is
what everybody was talking about. So go ahead, Channon, he

(17:09):
needs that.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
He got. No.

Speaker 9 (17:12):
Here's what happens is he is being interrogated after the
most stressful situation of his life, right and the officer
is actually asking him leading questions and trying to get
him to agree with them. Okay, And that's why you
don't talk to the police, because they are going to
try to put words in your mouth and that's exactly

(17:34):
what they did. No, of course he didn't have to speak,
but again he asked to talk to the officer.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
He wanted to explain to him what happened.

Speaker 9 (17:46):
However, they are trying to get him to confess to
something that he didn't do, and the video evidence shows
he didn't do it.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
So what do you think after you hear that Drew first?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Uh Italian Martinez. Yes, we need more of her out there.
She wasn't given up with her questions. I kept firing right,
let's get hur at the White House and started asking
some serious questions. But also Roman's not backing down either.
I love Roman kind of I mean, you hear the
personality has in the court room. I think we got
a little taste of that right there with him standing
up for Shuffler, but certainly he did back and forth there.

(18:23):
It's another thing that went viral. I think part of
it is, I mean, the message is the big thing
there and him she's kind of standing off with the reporter.
But it added to it with his southern draw. There
is a lot of the reason that was all over
the internet yesterday, but.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
There was more after that then Officer Mills, Officer gillis,
I'm sorry, issued a statement, so I got it. We
got to read his statement, had to be fair. Read
his statement. A tragic incident occurred, and the family of
mister Mills remained in my family's thoughts and prayers. He's
the gentleman that died in the traffic accident. This was
a chaotic situation for everyone involved. Ensuring the safety of

(18:58):
everyone in the vicinity was my most priority. Mister Scheffler
and I both agree that there will be no ill
will over this going forward. Instead of giving a negative
public reaction, he chose to speak with dignity, humility, and
respect My family and I appreciate that. And then there's
the PS Shannon, Yeah, would you like to share us
the PS.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yes, And there's one other part of this. I want
to read it too, go for it, But the PS
yes says yes, the department has us buying freaking eighty
dollars pants to those concerned.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
They were indeed ruined. But Scottie, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
I never would have guessed that i'd be that I'd
have the most famous pair of pants in the country
for a few weeks because of this. Take care, Be safe,
Officer Gillis, So there you have it, and then the
other part was to be clear. He says, to be clear,
I was drugged by the car, which I said in
the pre show. You were dragged, you weren't drugged. I
went to the ground. I received visible injuries to my
knees and wrist. I'm going to recover from it and

(19:53):
it will be okay. Like you didn't get rant over
by the car. Dude, you got dragged a few feet.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
He's like, Oh, I'm gonna be okay, I'm gonna recover.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
I think he put that in there to try to
convince people, Hey, this did happen. You know, I didn't
make this up. This did happen.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
What was your takeaway, Billy, I thought it was the
icing on the cake of the embarrassment this has been
for the city of Louisville. I could not believe the
ps at the end of that statement.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
I could not.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
I thought that was fake, honestly, to say that they
the department does has a by freaking eighty dollars pants
when the world is watching the City of Louisville, that's
what you put in your statement. I thought it was
an embarrassment and we've used that word way too many
times with this situation.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
The PS saved me. I liked his PS. I like
that he said freaking eighty dollars pants, Like he didn't
want to buy the eighty dollars pants either. He's I
feel like he's almost a cry for help there, like
they're making us buy these eighty dollars pants. Also, it's
like a very formal statement that it feels like he
just got it at the end and just wrote and
penned his thoughts.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Of see, that's what I thought. His attorney and him
constructed the first part of the statement, and after the
attorney walked away, he typed in the PS, by the way,
my free pants ripped and you know.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
But in' nut childish. I mean, this is a very
serious situation, and he's making a joke out of it.
I mean, you're naive to think that people in power
don't abuse their power. Sometimes. There are a lot of
great cops throughout the country and in the LMPD. But
for him to add that little jab at the end
I thought was unnecessary and embarrassing.

Speaker 6 (21:19):
I thought you had to defend himself because thousands of
people have made fun of him and his pants and
he's just had to sit there. Whatever side you're on,
whether he's wrong or not, I can see why he
would want to defend himself when he probably cannot open
the internet and not see someone making fun of that situation.
Is eighty dollars pants? What was going on?

Speaker 2 (21:37):
But if for Dootnie to pay for those eighty dollars pants,
that should be the punishment right there.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Pay for his pants, you know.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
And I think Scotty Scheffer's got eighty dollars pants, say Nike, he.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
Could probably get him as many pairs of pants as.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Me as he wants. Take care of it.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
The man his pants and let's move on.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Because I did like how they both Scheffler and the
officer both were like, Okay, look, it's it's over. Let's
put it behind us, and let's move on.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
There's a little bit of fanboy in at the end too.
He went from not knowing Scheffer on the scene so
kind of like, hell, I mean, Scotty, you know, take
care of you.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
We're bros.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Now.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
Well, Scotty also saving taxpayers money here in Louisville, trying
not to sue.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
It's sure.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
I think that's another indication they just want to put
all this behind us.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
You know, as Shepherd was supposed to appear next week, right,
I mean, he was going to have to appear, so
they got this settled to take care of all that.
So you'd have to miss any time off the golf course.
That's Memorial next week, and so you know, I'm sure
there was a little sense of urgency on everybody's part.

Speaker 6 (22:28):
They're in Canada this week. You should have had court
this week. He's off this weekend.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Yeah. Yeah, we got a tweet from Josh Teeters.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Teeter's not off. He's teeing off.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Today's teeing off today up in Canada.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
Listen to the KSR podcast. Uh practicing for the RBC
Canadian up there. We're wishing Teeter luck.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
So I guess if we look ahead, is a val
hooling at another event after the way it kind of played.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Out eventually, but a major it may take a long time. Yeah,
all right, we'll take our break.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Come back, Ryan, Drew Shannon and Billy our Sports Herol
Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney, called tea.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
He'll make them pay now more.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton mortgage.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Here's Matt Jones, Ryan Drew, Shannon, Billy Our Sports here
Connect Sports Radio. Before we go to the phone lines
eight five nine two eight zero two two eighty seven.
Got to pick couple people on hold. We want to
get too real quick. Got to read a couple from
the a vision glass text machine, which is the new
numbers five o two seven three five three six eight zero.
Can someone start a go fundme to replace this officer's pants?

(23:26):
And then the very next one is, I'll donate a
buck to a go fundme for a new pair of pants.
We could probably raise that in an hour, eat well,
fifteen minutes, probably to get the guy eighty dollars worth
of pants. But then there's a better idea. The cops
should put the pants on eBay. Oh, he would get
more than eighty dollars.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
Especially if he gets shufflers on him. I don't know
if he do it. Signature on those pants.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Actually, that's the call right there.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
You do it for charity.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
Doing it for a charity, have him sign those pants.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
I like that idea.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
Scott. He's a nice enough guy man. He would dote
him in the right way. He would do it, and
that's what Drew knows a lot of the people in
the golf world, and they all talk about he's of
all people, he's the nicest guy, the one that everybody likes.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
That this will happen to brilliant.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
I mean, I'm not saying anything about what happened this
particular incident, but what I was saying that day is
to wake up to a mug shot. If you would
say anyone in sports, who's the last person you think
would have a mug shot? I would probably say Scotti Shuffler.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
And now looking back, you know the fact that he
was taking downtown and putting that orange jump suit in
the picture, it's it's not only surreal, but you gotta
think if it should have even ever gotten to that point.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
It's gonna follow him forever. I mean, the golfers have
come out, there's a group chat with like a lot
of the top golfers, and they've changed the picture of
their group chat to the buckshot. That thing's gonna be
with him forever, which makes it so silly to people
that know him a little bit, like, that's not a
guy you think would ever be in a mug shot.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
A two two eighty seven. That's our phone number. Who's
our first color today, Shannon Brady? Brady? Go ahead, Brady?
Hey R doing today?

Speaker 6 (24:57):
All right?

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Brady? What's up?

Speaker 7 (25:00):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Nothing, just we needn't have the farm. So just wondering if.

Speaker 10 (25:07):
If Robinson does not come and Poplar is like just
somehow off the board, who would be the next guy
after that?

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (25:18):
Appreciate it, Brady. I mean there's that Will Riley.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
I guess name is still out there, and then may
reclassify option. That's an option. I think that is on
the table. If Robinson doesn't come to Kentucky and they
don't get Poplar, I think that's still an option out there.
Is there anything else after that?

Speaker 6 (25:34):
I mean, you're asking me for option for at that point.
I don't want to be an option for. There's the
brazil guy that was at Arkansas last year. I guess
he could be an option, but really I don't want
to get that for down the list to where we
have to worry about who's after Will Riley, who's in
high school right now? Hopefully it's Jackson. And if it's
not Jackson, maybe you convinced Poplar on his visit.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Billy. We didn't get your take on the whole Jackson
Robinson thing. You were stuck in traffic to get here.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know. Maybe there's a secretary
at the NBA office that could break some news today,
because I mean, that decision had to be made, it's
just a matter of him making it public, right, So
I don't know if it's the shan the dude, me, me, me,
everybody wait for my decision. But all these kids were
waiting until the last second to do this, So it's
just nice to see a little procrastination is still alive

(26:22):
in those guys.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
There's nothing wrong with Robinson testing the waters because he's
a potential NBA guy at some point, But if all
projections didn't even have him drafted, it seemed like the
answer is pretty obvious. So that's why I'm leaning towards
he's working out his nil deal with a with these
schools right now, trying and then he'll announce everything at once. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (26:42):
I don't know why Robinson had done it, but the
reason they all wait till yesterday is so they can
do all these private workouts with teams and get every
ounce of feedback until they closed that door. And they're
not allowed to do that. Anymore. That doesn't explain while
Robinson waited until after midnight, but everyone else we saw
so many at once. It's because they can have all
those conversations up until that last minute. Then they're back
in college.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Literally every other player somehow figured a way to make
it work except for him. So, I mean, all these
other players were dealing with the same issues. It's just
interesting that it's taken him this long to announce it.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
We're gonna look like a bunch of idiots if he
just does an interview in a few days, like, I'm
in the draft. I've been in the draft since April.
What you want from you, I'm in the draft.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
That's possible, That's very possible. We don't want that, but I.

Speaker 6 (27:25):
Mean that could be the case because he doesn't owe
us anything.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Okay, so do we hear anything today? What's your guys prediction.
I'm gonna say yes, by the end of the day,
it'll leak out.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
And the pressure is gonna mount up so much as
we go throughout the day, we're gonna figure it out.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
By the end of the day.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
I think some national rider that covers the NBA Draft
or the NBA leaks it out that.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
I'm holding out hope and I don't know anything about this.
This is just me being an optimistic fan trying to
find some light in this. That it's done with Kentucky
and they're saving a little boom this after noon or something.
They didn't want to do it at midnight. They're kind
of gonna make it a little bit of event today.
But you don't want to wait too long if that's
the case, because it is almost eleven am, the day
after the deadline.

Speaker 5 (28:09):
I like that a Cody Feger boom is how we
learn of this information.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
That's what that is.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
Yes, that's the optimistic opinion. I'm not saying that's the
most likely, but as a Kentucky fan, I hope that's
what's happening.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
Who's next, Shannon, Let's go to Damon, Damon, Go ahead, Damon,
Hey Fellas, good morning, Good morning the show.

Speaker 9 (28:29):
Y'all just want to say, how cool would it be
if Jackson Robinson throws out the first pitsch tomorrow and
that's how we find out.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Oh, now, that is pretty cool. If he just nobody
knows he's there and they announce the name thought the
first pitch he walks out through that in a UK
hat that's actually a pretty cool move. Would I would
love that. That would be awesome.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
That's all I wanted to say.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Fellaws y'all have I think, damon, there's no way they
could keep that quiet in though, with everybody with the phone,
and there's no way.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
And we can't wait another twenty five hours for information
being to lose it. We're already losing it a little bit.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
I mean, we've watched doors in the past. Oh right,
I watched a door.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Good.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
Yeah, so somebody would take a picture of him on
his way to Kentucky Proud Park. There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (29:14):
Someone is hacking into the cloud into his email to
see any correspondence with the NBA last night. That's how
crazy we are. Someone's gonna do some digging and find
out what actually happened.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Well, somebody on the Avision Glass text machine said, isn't
there a list the NBA would have of everybody that's
currently in the draft that that could be accessible.

Speaker 6 (29:33):
I don't know if it's updated daily. Maybe after the
deadline they'll send one out. I don't know that they will.
That would be helpful that.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
They would send it to I guess all the teams
will need to know who is available in the draft,
but none of this.

Speaker 6 (29:45):
Matters to They don't like this deadline. No one in
the NBA cares. It's just for people going back to
college and college fans. So if you're in the NBA,
deal with the draft. This has nothing to do with you.
It's just if anyone that intended to step out and
wanted to keep their eligibility A.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Five nine two eight h two two seven. Who's next? Shanon? Sam?

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Sam?

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Go ahead, Sam, Hey, Good morning guys.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Good morning? Sam?

Speaker 8 (30:08):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (30:08):
I just wanted to come on here and say, first off,
I'm very excited to come out to cast Bar tomorrow
for the free game tailgates.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
And the watch party. Nice.

Speaker 10 (30:18):
But I also think it's very impressive of Jackson Robinson
for him and his family to keep this information so
close to their chest. I mean, there's a deadline for
a reason, and we're all still kind of sitting around waiting.
I remember when like Lanier was there were reports like
he's in Lexington and then he's not, Like just you
haven't seen that talk with Robinson. He seemed to keep

(30:39):
it very close.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
But that's it.

Speaker 10 (30:40):
God bless you guys.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Thank you, man, I appreciate it. You're right. I mean,
guys are in this day and age where everything leaks,
they're finding a way to kind of get around some
of this keeping it quiet. And I think the coaches
are also helping keep things quiet. That seems to be
on both sides, because if we used to always leak
out from one or the other, the coach was leaking
it out with the player. Now neithers I leaking stuff out.

Speaker 6 (31:01):
We got a little spoiled when Pope was building the
first ten pieces. I mean, we knew what these guys
were eating for dinner and lunch on their visits. How
many times do we see a picture of Pope at
the airport helping a kid with his luggage. If we
were consuming every little piece of information, every little move
these guys made, we haven't had that luxury with Robinson.
He's been busy with his NBA process and he's in

(31:21):
Utah and he appears to be a very quiet kid.
So even though we've been optimistic because Kentucky fans, a
lot of it has just been speculating and hoping. There
hasn't been a lot of concrete things out there.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
And it's not just athletics, right, do you want to
go back to school? Do you want to live that
lifestyle again? Do you want to live in the team dorms?
I mean, these are all things that you have to
consider compared to possibly going to the NBA or g
League or whatever path that you want.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
You know, some guys, you're right, Billy, like DeMarcus actually
wanted to stay because he liked this lifestyle, the collegiate
lifestyle and being here at Kentucky. Other guys, you know,
soon's the seasons over. They're ready to get the heck
out of Dodge.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
But when your projection is to not be drafted or
end to the second round, that does make you scratch
your head a little bit, right, I mean, are there
any projections out there that have him drafted at all?

Speaker 6 (32:05):
Some at the end of the second round, but I
mean he's considered like fringe second round undrafted, like climbing
up in the first round seems very unlikely for him,
which is what you think he would want to do,
and maybe he could do if he came back with
another year.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Let's get another one, Shannon, who we got Let's go
to Sean, Sean, go ahead, Sean, Hey, guys, I.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
Just want to thank you for helping me get through
my impatient waiting out here at Valhalla. I'm stuck out here,
want to way on that Scotty ship where I know
it's been settled. And for him, that's good. But one
of the criticisms I heard was, you know, Scotty should
have yielded. It doesn't matter if it's a cop or
if it's security. Well, I'm out here with a semi

(32:45):
and twice yesterday I had the security of Valhalla literally
stopped me in the middle of a turn, blocking traffic
to ask me a question. So when it comes to ignoring,
no security people that work, they're not professional people that
do this every single day and handle traffic. So a
lot of times you're going to see a guy that

(33:06):
has to deal with that like I have to in
a truck. Go ahead and pull your vehicle to a
safe parking spot, then address him and halfway through a turn.
You know on Shelbyville Row is just dangerous. And that
happened to me twice at the very very golf course
that we've been talking about. So the people saying he
was disrespectful by not listening to him, maybe that needs

(33:29):
to understand that some of those times, those guys will
just give you bad information because they're not paying attention
to where you're actually at.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Okay, we'll be careful out there, man, appreciate you calling in.
Be careful. And then Scotty Scheffer did say that from
the beginning that one person out there directing try told
him to go ahead. Second person, which is that Officer Gillis,
says stop, and Scotty's admitted, if you know, he should
have just stopped right then, and maybe this wouldn't even
have gotten this far, but he when he already had
permission from somebody to go ahead. And probably that happens

(33:58):
a lot at these events. Man, he's golf first, kind
of get it waved ahead of everybody else because they
have to get in and start warming up and start
practicing for the round.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Well, a lot of golfers went the exact same route
he was going. Even Roman said that Colin Morrikaw, it's
one of the biggest golfers in the world. He was
in the fifth place, was thirty seconds in front of
Scheffler doing the exact same path. I just think there's
a lot of miscommunication. But like I said, one person
told Scotty, this other officer didn't know, and that's how
you get where they are.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
And we learned that it wasn't just police directing traffic
out there that morning. It was also PGA officials. Yes,
it's but they all had the same vests on right.
Is that was fluorescent yellow vests? Is what the in
the video that was recently released was what they were
telling Scotty. Doesn't matter who's in that vest, you need
to listen to it. But it's also dark, it's also rain.
There's a lot of factors that play into this. But

(34:44):
you know, like you've said, it couldn't have happened to
a nicer guy and maybe they could have avoided taking
him downtown if they would have just talked to him
about the situation.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
Yeah, yeah, well all on tenth the purposes, it's over now,
charges drop and everybody's going to try to move forward.
So dropped with prejudice, run, thank you very much. Means
what means it's over, You can't come back and charge it, right.
Legal analyst Drew Frank for this legal stuff, All right, well,
take our break, come back, go back to the phone
lines eight five nine two eight oh two two eight

(35:12):
seven eight five nine two eight O cats. If you're
shopping for a house, you know, Drew, Let's just say
you're a young guy, just got engaged, you're renting right now.
Maybe you're looking to possibly how.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
Was that guy one time?

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Will?

Speaker 6 (35:24):
Now I'm looking at one and now there's.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
One rus sitting right between us. Maybe he should call
my friends at Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Sounds like a good idea to me. There.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
You know, they're great people to work with and you
know now's a great time to buy that right, Yes,
I would. I would call tax dock to Morgan. It's easy, Billy.
You can go to Stockton dot com. There's a button
right there. It says get started, started through the process.
The approval process can take about twenty four hours, and
you want that pre approval little before you and Marissa
go out looking for in the houses. That's what you want,
So give him a call Stockton Mortgage NMLS A two
five nine equal housing Lender. We'll be right back. This

(35:50):
is Kentekting Sports Radio. All right, welcome back, Ryan lev
and Drew Franklin and Shannon the Dude and Billy r. Sports.
Here Kentekty Sports Radio from the Avision Glass text machine.
Couple things I wanted to ask you guys about. One
person texted in about Shuffer's orange jumpsuit. Could they sell
that for like a charity? And he could probably. I
could see him signing that for charity.

Speaker 6 (36:13):
I think it just goes back on the next next person.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
Yeah, I don't think you get to keep it.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Can you imagine them out there playing with the orange
jump put in his golf bag?

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Yeah? And then somebody else said, there's no way he's
signing the pants because the guy tried to charge him
with a Felony's.

Speaker 6 (36:29):
See, I don't see them coming together for much of anything.
It was good enough to get them agrated to dismiss
the charges on each side.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
They did downgrade the felony if you saw that.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
Yesterday, dropped all four charges right against him. Yeah. One
more from the avision last tex machine. Ryan has Pope
bought a house yet. I can confirm he has, but
I'm not going to tell you where it is. We
need to give them some privacy until it closes, and
then once it closes, it'll be public record.

Speaker 6 (36:54):
Can you tell us where the nod or wink did
Ryan Lemon get to make the sales, I did not,
did not.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
And is Calipari's old house still for sale? Has anybody
bought that yet?

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Do we have an update?

Speaker 4 (37:05):
They took it off the market, which made me think
that maybe there's a private deal in place or something. So,
but when it closes, then they'll the prices will come
out and then you'll find out where everybody wherever they
thing is. Yeah, Pope has bought a house.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
He didn't buy Cow's old house.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
No, it didn't. You know, didn't do that, all right?
Eight two eight seven, Chance says, we got another call.
Let's get that up real quick, Abby, Abby, go ahead, Abby,
Hey there, this.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Call actually goes back to the South Carolina football game
and Ron, it's for you. I wanted to share with
you that I have been sucker punched three times when
I wasn't looking. And I'm a woman, so I believe you. Okay,
Oh it happened.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
I got the X ray of my fractured draw to
prove it happened.

Speaker 7 (37:52):
Yes, I mean people will do it when you're not looking,
just because sometimes even when you're not even talking to him.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
Well, I hope you're okay from your getting sucker punched twice.

Speaker 7 (38:04):
Yeah, you know, it's just a little sword jaw like
you said. Thank goodness, my one broken like yours.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
But it sounds like nixt time we need security.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
We need to call Abby here to work security for us.

Speaker 7 (38:15):
Well, I don't know if I would help.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
She's row security you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
So okay, Abby, thank you very much, appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (38:26):
Now.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
I saw Steve's Bushimi. You got punched in the face
randomly just walking down the streets to New York. I
think it's a thing that people are doing, just randomly,
sucker punching.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
I just don't know how anybody didn't see it when
it happened to you, Ryan, Well, there were two ladies
that saw it, not Abby.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
Abby was there also. I know I'm not going back
to South Carolina. I think that my MoMA won and
done there. I know sense going back.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
You're two weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
You're not going back because you get punched.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
