Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
All right, welcome back our number two Kentucky Sports Radio
Ryan Drew Shannon. We got Mario, Billy, got the whole
crew here for our second stop on the KSR Pop
Up Summer Business Tour. We were at Heritage Hill's Heritage
Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Bullock County. Shannon, the
dudes old up and ground. Just talk to a guy
named Brian. He lives on the thirteenth green. Thirteenth there,

(01:27):
he is, Brian. Yep. He said, this was an old
dairy farm before they made it into this golf course
out here. And he got up out here and the
big house that you drive by when you get to
the pro shop. He said, he used to slide down,
sled down that big hill over there.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, there's a good sledding hills in Bullet County.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
There's a big aerial photo of the farm in there
in the clubhouse. It's pretty cool see before it was. Yeah,
certainly a farm looks like a farm, very turned into golf.
Pretty neat photo.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Who's the secment? Sponsored by Drew.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
It is sponsored by our friends at UK Federal Credit Union,
the official credit union of the University of Kentucky. It's
also an award winning and Places to Work winner. I
really like their app and their mobile banking with using
that UK Federal Credit Union's camera can save you time
as you make a mobile deposit or pay bills, check balances.
It's all there with a touch of button. And for

(02:13):
added security, you can set up card controls and travel
notifications in the app. While traveling, you use the UKFCU
app to locate your nearest fee free ATM anytime you
need that cash when you're on the go. It's always
with you and available uk fc US mobile app. It
just makes banking better. Membership eligibility required. Federally insured by NCUA.
That's University of Credit, University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Big thanks to UK Federal Credit Union. Big things to
Heritage Hill Golf Club. Look, I just read this line here.
If you're lucky, you can see wild turkeys, deer, fox
or bald equals. Right. That's right. I'm about that. Don't
get those in other counties. I'm about the bullet county
coming strong. That's right, all right. We gave you guys
a little homework assignment again last night. We want to
get to and this really I did it because of you, Drew. Okay,

(02:58):
this came in on the a Vision Glass text machine
this weekend, said, have you what is your best or
have you had a memorable interaction with a celebrity by accident?
Just kind of just run into somebody not playing like
you know, we can't say John Caliperry at Roperena. Of
course John caler Perry's gonna be at Ropperena. I know

(03:18):
a couple of years. But you're immediately what I thought of.
So I want all you guys to jump in with
your answers. Who do you?

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Will?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Let you go first?

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Well, we'll get the big one out of the way.
That's been told a few times. When Matt and I
met Marilyn Manson, yes, and he requested to sit between
us on a Southwest flight left his fiance Matt and
I cause you picked your seats on Southwest there's no
signed seats. We boarded first, paid the big group A,
and we intentionally were like, hey, let's look big, you know,

(03:45):
you stick your legs wide, make that middle seat look
as uncomfortable as possible, so that the two of us
would just have the road to ourselves. Here comes Marilyn Manson.
We had already met him and taken a picture in
the airport. Thought that was the last time I'll ever
see this man in my life. He is with his
fiance and he says, I'll sit there, and she goes,
you're gonna sit with them, and he says yep, and

(04:05):
he climbs over me and flops down between Matt and me.
And that's for the next hour and a half. He
did not stop talking. I know Matt always tells the
side of the story. He didn't take a breath for
an hour and a half, and I loved every minute
of it. Because he's telling us most of it is
probably making it up right. He also ordered a round
of I want to say it wasn't bourbon. I want

(04:26):
to say it was Jack. It was Jack Daniels. I
had I had just had to tough through some Jack
Daniels put it on Matt's tap. It just I don't
care what happens for the rest of my life. Nothing
will be more surreal then. Part of it is the
fact that he asked, scoot over, move your thuught.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
You already had that nice interaction before. I think that's
what it was.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I held a device from the sharper image in our
photo for his request. Yes, it looks a little funny,
but that one, Like even now just telling it, my
brain is like, did that really happen? He invited me
to go? It was how it was Halloween. It was
October thirty thirty. First we were flying.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yes, he was.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Having a party that night in Hollywood, and he invited
us to go. Matt didn't want to go. We were
staying a little farther outside Hollywood. Dude, I can sit
an hour uber by myself. But then I thought that's
I don't want to die like that.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
What I'm really just, I guess disappointed that I wasn't
with you guys, because I would have definitely taken that
trip with you.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yes, you would have.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
How many people would pay to sit next to Marilyn
Manson on a plane? Like he got the whole like
Marilyn Manson fantasy camp experience.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Sitting He invited to go to a party with Marilyn Manson?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
What's the little is it? A pellet Gun's got a
little air gun? It'll hurt me, you know, it's not
too much damage with the little BB gun even down
from that. Yeah, one of those Yeah, he invited it
to go shoot people off his his balcony in hollywoods.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
I don't want to shoot anybody, but that's.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
What he was up to that night. Like you guys
want to go, It's like, no, I'm just trying to
get to I'm trying to get from point A to
point B here. I mean we're going Vegas to LA
for the Breeders Cup.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
That will be number one. Yeah, absolutely forever. One I've
never told is I go do this comedy show in
New York. Every time I go, don't miss it, comedy sellers.
Have we been as a trip?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
I don't, Matt, I don't think so. I love it.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
I absolutely love it, and it I'd say if I've been,
I'm probably batting five hundred on big time celebrity sightings
in there because so many comedians go to listen to
other comedians. There's a diner attached next to it, the
Olive Tree Cafe, like the Saturday Live cast will just
show up there after the show. I mean there's constantly
people in there. I name dropped many of comedians I've seen,
but one night I'm in there just watching whoever. It's

(06:26):
usually just Randoms I've never heard of five up and comers.
And I look at the guy next to me and
I was like, guy, looks from there, you know, go back,
you don't talk or anything. I look again and he
gives me a little nod and it was a z's
and sorry, who's an A list at this at this
point in comedy, I mean, this is the guy with
Netflix specials. He had just done the Garden and he
does a little to me and like covers his mouth

(06:47):
like don't call me out, and I just kind of
tipped my cap. And then we're leaving. We're kind of
side by side in this cluster of leaving the basement.
I was just like, hey, man, like the comedy. He's like, yeah, yeah,
thanks for keeping it down, and they just put his
hood on, walked right out and disappeared. But to go
to a comedy show where I paid twenty bucks to
get in to see five comedians I've never seen, and
then I'm like shoulder to shoulder with an A list

(07:08):
comedian and he just kind of gives me like a
don't let him know there. But that was too as
more of the randoms where you just end up next
to someone. That was another one. That felt pretty bizarre.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
But before you quit, I want you to tell one
more if you don't mind telling it. The guy you
met at Tin Roof. I don't want to give away
who it is. You know what I'm talking about, Coleswindell, Yes,
can you tell that story?

Speaker 6 (07:30):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I think we've sort of hinted at this before. I
don't know if he ever told the full story.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
We told the full story. He since gotten a lot bigger.
It wasn't a pleasant first interaction. I told her that
next day we were doing a pregame show in uh
in Reperna back when we did those uh huh. Yes,
he had done a show at ten Roof the night
before Cole. Cole's a big fan of Cole, or at
the time he was. I would say that he must

(07:54):
have introduced himself to everyone five times to the point
we interrupted. We're like, we're I drew this, so we've
we've done this over and over. But he was he
was up and coming. I think he was just really
into marketing at that point. But Cole Swindell was a
big fan of But do you know who I am? Guy?
At that point in his career, Well.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Didn't he come up and say I'm Cole Swindell. V Oh, yeah,
that Cole Swindale.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
I have the believe. Our response was, yes, you said
that five minutes ago. He's a huge so bad telling
that story as I repeat it. Now he's fine, But
at the time, you know he's he's not the Cole Swindell.
He wasn't. Now he's trying to get his name out
there every three minutes.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Billy, you got one for us? I do, yes.

Speaker 7 (08:33):
I was just trying to look up who Cole Swindell is.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I had no idea.

Speaker 8 (08:36):
It was h he'll tell you, Oh, he'll tell you
he's the coleswind I gotta be careful with this story,
but it was back when I was in college. I
was interning in Nashville for one oh four five to
Zone and my job was to book guests on the show.
Uh And so I ended up doing something with comedy
off Broadway. They have a bunch of comedians that come through.
So I have booked a couple comedians like Pete Davidson

(08:58):
and Jay Farrow, and Jay Farrell's the Impressionist and I
think Shan's heard.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
This story before. Jay Farrow came to the studio and.

Speaker 8 (09:06):
I was gonna let him in, but I went to
the back door and the back door had locked behind me,
so we couldn't get through the back door. So this
is the middle of July and me and Jay have
to walk from the back door all the way around
a building to the front. And Jay gets on the
air and he just starts complaining about having to walk,
and he was like, man, I'm sweating my ass off
out here.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
You know, your interurn just made me walk all the
way across the building. Look at this guy.

Speaker 8 (09:31):
Now, I'm dressed up. I'm trying to make a good
impression as an intern. I've got a button down on
and I slats and my hair slicked back. Young Billy
r Sports and He's like, look at this metro sexual
over here.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
I mean, come on, do you even have a blank?

Speaker 8 (09:45):
And I was letting the air to defend myself that yes,
I was a guy, wow, and I am a part
of the show. So Jay Farrow, I know he's a comedian,
but I mean he took his shots at me back
in Uh.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
I guess this was like twenty fifteen in Nashville, and.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
We should have considered calling him Billy the Dude.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
So we know that you got to blame. I had.

Speaker 8 (10:07):
I had to make sure everybody knew after that. But
I didn't expect Jay to attack me. Attack me. It
wasn't one hundred and ten degrees outside that day, and
I guess he wasn't very happy having a walk around
the building.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Where is he these days? He's like super talented and
kind of disappeared. He does. He can do hundreds of
impersonations on a commercial.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
He's on a commercial or something.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
He was in studio. Were you at that show? Star
was Matt and mea and just kept doing impersonations and over.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Yeah, I think I was there. I think I was
there at that show.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I wasn't there. I remember that show, but I wasn't
there with you guys. All right, do you have a
good one? You can go ahead.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I don't really I was trying to think, like you know,
you say, accidental, like run ends with celebrities. I don't
really know that I've got any that come to mind,
but I guess the closest would be when we were
down in Memphis and we were tweeting Jerry the King
Lawler to come out to his club.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Of course we were in his club.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
We weren't in Memphis, so we kind of summoned him
to come in, but I was as when he actually
did show up after we you know, harassed him on Twitter.
That was really cool though for me, you know, growing
up being a wrestling fan, and then you know, he
kind of took Matt and I over to the side
and showed us his VIP room in the club. So
that was cool. But I don't have anything that would
rival be in as good a story as Drews Marilyn

(11:16):
Manson's story.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
I have a random Derby one. You know, Derby. You
just run into him everywhere. Matt and I were at
the what's the one where you gotta dress up all
fancy in their.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Backyard Barnstable Brown, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Brown Stable Barn. There we go barn Stable Brown party,
and there's always the Patriots and the Packers love Derby,
Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, they don't miss the Derby together.
Then the Patriots, the Brady and his crew, Welker, they
went to all of them. Still probably do Gronk seen
him a few times. But we're at Barnstable Brown and

(11:50):
you're kind of just crammed in this area for the
Porta party, and you're just it's all, you're just bunched in.
And I look up and I am like being pushed
in the back into tom Brady's camp. And I'm not
even really supposed to be there near them to begin with,
but I'm now just standing there. So I'm like, hello,
there's Patriots, and I'm minding my own business. And Tom
Brady has like a guy I only be like a

(12:10):
manager assistant. His his dude, And they were flying after
this was Oaks night. They were flying after Derby to
get to one of the big fights when they have
them the night of Derby night weather Pacia one of
those things, and just small talking. I heard him say
something about the flight, so I talked to the one
guy that's not on the team, this assistant, just so

(12:31):
I'm not bothering the A list guys. So y'all heard
you going to the fight? Yeah, and taking the plane
blah blah, got an your room? Uh yeah, come on,
just kidding, kidding like that, And like I'll sit in
Tom's lap and kind of like pat him and he says,
come on, and Pat's his thigh. At that point, I'm
just stunned, Like Tom Brady is joking about me.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Saying this story.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
I mean, that was the only interaction with him, Patty
his thigh and that little laugh and then bathroom line
moves on. But that was just like, why am I
standing here? And why am I offering to sit in
Tom Brady's last to go to Vegas? Right now?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Mari, you got one for us?

Speaker 9 (13:03):
I don't have one that's necessarily uh positive in my eyes,
but since you called me out, I guess I have
to give it to you.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:11):
So it was about a year year and a half ago.

Speaker 9 (13:14):
I'm working, Uh this is not really like I would
say it was expected. Right, I'm working at camp Dangelo
Russell's camp in Louisville, Kentucky, And obviously you're gonna meet
Dangelo Russell. Ye know, it's his camp. Sure, and I
run into him, and you know, I'm with the kids.
I'm working as a coach, so I'm coaching younger kids
and everything like that, and you know, I'm meeting D'Angelo

(13:36):
for the first time, and I'm like, hey, what's up,
D'Angelo And He's like, hey, man, what's up. I was like, hey,
you mind if I I just have a quick conversation
with you. The Gold was obviously I wanted to have
a conversation, to bring him on my podcast, just get
him a little five to ten minute interview, and uh,
once you know, he kind of we didn't even really
get to talk.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
He was like, can't you see, I'm busy, And then
that was the end of that.

Speaker 9 (13:58):
And I was the overall like the experience of it.
But uh, he wasn't really busy in my eyes, because
but it is what it is, but that.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
He's learning the grind of trying to get an interview.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah, it's tough.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
It's definitely tough.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
I do remember when we were in ESPN with Matt
when he was doing his show that time. I don't
know if it was you and I Drew that were walking.
Maybe I was by myself, but I remember passing a
guy in the hallway just cutting a promo on somebody
on the phone, just ripping them up one side and
down the other, and I realize, oh.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
That's Randy Moss. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
It was just like, I don't know what was going on.
He was not having it that day, and I was like, okay.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Yeah, I wouldn't want to mess with him. Yeah I was.
I was with you, Was you okay? Walking down that
hallway on the phone. He was not happy about something.
Think Daniel was even kind of shooting video of us, right.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
You know, he's filming me and you, and we weren't
gonna acknowledge Randy, and you went out of the way
to acknowledge Randy, and Daniel turned and put the camera
on him, and I'm thinking he was hallway right now.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Whoever he was talking to, he was not happy.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Sometimes Mario and right with the Randy Moss, the athletes,
they're just not to answer your question. That's part of
the gig.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I got a couple like minor interactions and three of
them like happened at the airport. Like I remember one
time I almost ran over Ludicrous Ludacris was walking down
the airport and you know you're in a hurry sometime
the airport you're not paying attention and it was just
him and like one bodyguard guy and he's little. I mean,
you know, Ludicrous ran over Ludicrous, Like what part of

(15:28):
the airport, like the parking.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Picture you on the thing inside the beeps and you.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Have like the tar no, Like he was coming around
the corner and I was coming around the corner and wham,
like I almost and I didn't realize who it was
at first because he was so little, and I realized, wait, man,
that's ludicrous.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
I thought you he was on foot. He almost ran
him down.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
He is a little guy. I could I get probably
take him. Jesse Jackson, I saw him at the airport
one time, and I wanted to go approach him and
just say hey, but like before you even get there,
like you know, his guys are like, you know, keeping
everybody back from it. H I saw Stu were at
Scott at an airport and uh tat They sat and
talked to me for like thirty minutes. We're both waiting
for a flight. What a great guy. I mean, he

(16:07):
just genuinely just a great, great guy. But the one
story that kind of came to mind, and I've already
told this on the air, my Robin Leech story. I
like this one. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
We were still recovering from you almost killing Ludacris.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, almost bowed him over. I almost bowled over. Jessica
Simpson at the Kentucky Derby. Forgot about that when she
was doing her big reality show with Who's Who was
her husband?

Speaker 6 (16:27):
This?

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yeah, and they had their reality show. They were filming
them both at the Kentucky Derby, and I was really
sick that day. I was sick and it was just
one of those where I had my head down. I'm
walking through there and wham, and I look in their
TV cameras all around, and I thought, all great, because
I didn't you know they were filming stuff for her
reality show.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Yeah, Ludacris, Jessica Simpson, you try to take down this
two thousand boy.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
That and you had some bad interactions at the Kentucky Derby.
It sounds like you just maybe I should just stay
away Derby A good idea.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I have a good airport when that I want to
tell it's in line with your Stuart Scott One. I
was in the Atlanta airport by myself going to my
Taco bell trip years ago. Yes, I just went, you know,
random airport bar whenever it's called sports bar or something generic.
And there was one man standing up over at the
end talking to the bartender and he would get one
bottle of butt light and he'd put down a twenty

(17:18):
And at the time you could get a bottle of
beer for twenty dollars an airport. But it was my
points was a significant tip on each bottle. Say, it
was probably ten twelve bucks every time he got one.
And I'm like, how does this guy look familiar? I
didn't have a great angle. I'm like, this is the
nicest guy ever. And he turns around and it was
Craig Seger from TNT. Because he didn't have on his outfit,
it took me a second to place, you know, his face.

(17:41):
And I sat there for an hour. I said high,
but I didn't disturb him. But I heard him talking
to other people and that was a super nice guy.

Speaker 9 (17:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
When he left, I kind of mentioned it was just
twenty dollars bill beer at twenty dollars beer and how
nice he was. And the bartender there was like he
comes here, you know, he's flying everywhere. It's like he's
here all the time. And he was one of the
nicest humans ever. And at that point I only known
him as the colorful suit guy you sa CNT and
he since passed away. That one little moment in that airport,
just watching him be himself, like Mario just said, some guy,

(18:10):
some people don't want to be bothered. I was watching him,
not knowing anyone else was paying attention, and he was
just being a great dude. So that was a pretty
cool airport interaction I had with Craig Sager.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Just we gotta go to a break, but I'll just
finish my Robin Leech story just real quick. If you
haven't heard it, he were to show it love. It
was a David Spade. We would see David Spade in
Las Vegas and we see Robin Leach there and he's
with a a much younger companion, much much younger companion.
And we go up to him and I said, Hey,
do you care if you get your picture taken with

(18:39):
these two ladies here? And he looked at us and goes, oh,
please walked away. That's my Robin Leech story. All right,
Well we'll take our break. We'll come back. Ryan Drew, Shannon,
Billy Mario. We got the whole crew here where at
Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Bullet County. We'll be
right back. This is Kentucky's Sports Radio. All right, Welcome
back Kentucky Sports Radio, Ryan Drew and Sha We're here

(19:01):
at Heritage Hill Golf Club on our KSR pop up
Summer show tour. If you're looking to, you know, try
a new course out, Come on over here and try
this one. It's beautiful out here. It's a great course.
I think you'll enjoy playing it. We spent that whole
commercial break guys talking about ones that we missed, celebrity
interactions that we missed. You thought of one in.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Billy Billy reminds me about more things that I've forgotten
about my own life than I can remember. He said,
didn't you just meet the guy from MTV last year
Louder than Life, Matt Penfield, Uh huh, which was a
guy that's really connected to the music scene, obviously on.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
MTV, but he was so cool.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
He said, Hey, if you're ever out in LA, here's
my phone number, give me a call. We'll go hang out. Well,
that's pretty Let's go to La now. I'm like, I
got a reason to go back to La now. But
there was a couple of others that you you thought.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Several people on the Avision Glass text machine reminded me
and Drew about you had an interact with Jay Cutler.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
We crossed paths once upon a time. We won't revisit
that one. He's a good good man in the On
three Sports company. But cross paths cross pads back from
day said hello to each other. I remember that, not
so cordials hellos. But he's a good on three employee.
Now he's somewhere in the company doing something. You know,
we all grow up and forget about little trials and

(20:14):
tribulations along the way.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
I had forgotten one. Not only did I almost knock
over Ludicrous at the airport, not only did I knock
almost knock over Jessica Simpson at the Kentucky Derby, almost
knocked over Sheryl Crowe and the iHeart Building and another
she's teeny tiny, she's like four foot nothing. And remember
she had that pop up show in the iHeart Building
when she was trying to start her her country music career.

(20:37):
I walk around the corner, Wham, there's Sheryl crow Like,
oh my.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
I just you have You know, most people don't barrel
through any a list celebrities. You have at least three
take down.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
I've been on an elevator with Patrick Swayze. He's a
little bitty guy. He's shorter than I am.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
My understanding is all famous people are tiny, right something
that's like a trick. They're all playing on us. Tom
Cruise Jay Z was tiny. I think they're all tiny.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
Jay z is tiny.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Eight five two two eight seven. I know Andy's been
holding forever. Let's get him up real quick, Matt, go ahead, Andy.

Speaker 10 (21:14):
Hey, guys, I just wanted to, uh, well, come in
on the Danny Early thing.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (21:19):
I really don't think he ever had any intention of
taking the Lakers job. I don't think he really took
it seriously. I think a lot of that was done
for leverage, probably to get more money from Yukon, and
not just for him, but for his assistance. And not
only that, he can, you know, go into recruits house
and o hey, I just turned down the Lakers, And

(21:42):
I just think a lot of most of that was
her show.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Hey, you talk about leverage, I mean the guy that
just went back to back titles turned down the lost contract.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Yeah, he's about to get it am out.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
That's what I'm saying. Give him half the university.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
When Kentucky was, you know, trying to steal him, there
were reports that Yukon's kind of broke, so it might
be the case that they don't have money to give him,
which would make this situation interesting.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
And he deserves to stay there. Turning down a lot
of money with Kentucky and a lot of money with
the Lakers to stay in Connecticut. If they don't aven
having the extra money to go.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Find it, somebody's got money up there to pay that. Man.
When you turn down two of the biggest brands in
all of basketball, you gotta find a way to take
care of him.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's right, Connecticut.

Speaker 10 (22:26):
Not only that, I mean right now you're the king
of college basketball and jobs probably going to be open
in three years anyway.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
You're right, Andy, yup. Can't disagree with anything you said. Man,
good to hear from you. Hope see you soon. Maybe
our wife next Tuesday. Okay, all right, we'll let us know. Andy,
we'll have a spot for you. All right, we'll take
our break, come back eight five nine two eight h
two two eight seven. Got a couple people on hold
right now. We'll get to you and we come back
from the break. Ryan Drew, Shannon, Billy Mario. Everybody's here.
It's a big house here at the Heritage Hill Golf

(22:55):
Course in Shepherdsville in Bullock County on the KSR pop
up Summer business Tour. Come on out, bring your clubs,
join us.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
For the show.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Then play a little golf afterwards. We'll be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio. All right, Welcome back Kentucky
Sports Radio. Ryan Drew, Shannon, Billy Mario. We've got some
breaking news here. If we've got the breaking news button
or Shannon, you can do the breaking news affect yourself.
You have it, Matt, how about there we go? Do

(23:22):
we need one more time? No, you got it. It's enough.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
We don't want to annoy everybody out here.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Danny Hurley just got a new contract from Yukon. Six years,
fifty million, just over eight million a year, puts him
but just behind Caliperry and self. What sounds like to
me they were at a little short, little short.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
I get seventy million to fifty million, I think I
would go to Yukon and say, how about another twenty million?

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Mathew Mathing Man, I mean it's a little bit sure,
it's still a lot of money.

Speaker 10 (23:53):
Man.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
You must love stores Connecticut, you.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Must love that area.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
You're gonna be willing to give up twenty million to
stay there.

Speaker 6 (23:59):
I get it, I actually get it.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
But if you're Danny Hurley, you're probably thinking that money's
gonna be there for me next year or the year
after when I when I'm ready to move, You've got
to be thinking, Okay, but I can still get that
money for the next job.

Speaker 9 (24:12):
But this is the Lakers. Yeah, think about the Lakers.
Is just the stability wasn't there for the Lakers? You
know they get a new coach every two to three years,
and then you know, I think he was thinking about
the stability and the in the game. This the style
of play college game is different from the NBA.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
So Danny Hurley staying at Yukon, He's going to three pe.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
If he's not the coach of the New York Knicks
within how long. I don't have an exact timeline, but
I'm making up a scenario in my head where Early said,
because he's been very open about one of the NBA,
I think he's gonna wait. He can stay in the Northeast,
keep keep the wife happy. He can go do all
the Connecticut you want to do. You can Connecticut your
little heart out, and he'll be the coach of the Knicks.

(24:54):
I can see it here on June eleventh. I can
see it a half twenty four all right.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Eight five nine, two h two two eighty seven. Who
we got Matt Sam, go ahead, Sam, Hey, guys, how's
it going. How you doing, Sam Good?

Speaker 11 (25:13):
I'm still recovering, trying to get my voice back from
Sunday night. But you know, as a Kentucky fan, a
fantastic night. I mean, three hits only over the weekend.
It's just incredible. I'm so happy for this ball team,
and I was happy to see my guy Mario and Drew.

(25:33):
I hope you have a communication then.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Appreciate it, Appreciate the phone call. Yeah, I mean the
pitching staff. You know, there were points in the season
where the bullpen was kind of shaky at time. Shannon, Yeah,
that bullpen. I mean we didn't talk enough about once
Camps came in and shut him down with the bases
loaded and one out and he got like two strikeouts.
I mean something that the bullpen has been unbelievable in
the postseason. Yeah, they have.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
In credit to Benjion for also picking the right guy
at the right time. You know that that twenty seventh
the out was really tough to get the other night,
but Benjione had to go to, you know, the bullpen
and picked the right players to come in at that moment.
And you're right, they've been clutch so far, and hopefully
they'll continue that throughout the College World Series because I
think they're gonna lean on him quite a bit like Humble.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
They got the final out. That was the only battery
faced in all five games. That's all he needed.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
That's all you needed.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
I think the number was one hundred and fifty six
total batters UK went up against. He only faced the
last one. That's amazing, just sitting there waiting to be called.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah. The Novae kid came in in the first game
and shut them down the way in the three scoreless innings.
I think what was the.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Stat with three hits in the Superriots and NCAA record,
it's got to be.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
It's amazing.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Kintucky went into the postseason and you know, we're all
very confident number two overall seed, but if you have
a worry or a weakness the pitching staff, it wasn't
you know that. I'd say that was probably one of
the bigger concerns. And the hitting has been there, and
they pitching staff didn't have a great end of the year,
but they put those doubts away pretty quickly in the
NCAA Tournament.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
In Game two, I mean, Oregon State scored two runs
and have a hit bassis loaded walk. Yeah, so I
think about that for a minute and she runs a
no hits.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Mason Moore one of those. I think there was about
seven strikes he threw before the finally called a walk.
We're not gonna complain about any any umping back there,
but some of Mason Moore's walks I had a problem
with with my strike zone up against the ump strike zone.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
You could see in the video though, a lot of
people behind home plate very kind of concerned about some
of the ball strike calls.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
If you heard any booing on TV, it was me.
I was booing the loudest to some of those going.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
Were you the one starting the blue white chant?

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Because I could hear somebody go blue and it sounded
like you, and I'm going, well, that sounds like I was.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
On the white team. There was someone farther to my
left and left field, a woman. To her credit, she
did it several times throughout the game. She'd stand up
and do a blue and then our section would do
a white. But it was only one half of the stadium.
We needed the other half to participate. We had like
a blue white on the same side. But I'm glad
that made it through the TV.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
We did a lot of that who's next, mat, Let's
get up another phone call? Who we got Tomingo, go ahead, sir.

Speaker 12 (28:03):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Fellows?

Speaker 13 (28:04):
And just wanted to say I enjoyed listening to you. Unfortunately,
I lived right there by Heritageill and we're up there
about four or five times a week. It's a great place.
And my daughter to be talking about Oklahoma, she actually
works up there at the golf course in the summertimes.
She's just graduated from OU. But so it's pretty cool
that you guys were there. I wish I would have
known you were to be there. Unfortunately, we had to

(28:26):
make a trip over here to Georgetown for my son's
golf event over here at Cherry Blossom, So we have
the McDonald's at Midway earlier today, and I thought about
you because I heard Ryan say he was coming that
way earlier. But it's a great golf course and I
enjoyed listening to you. And good luck to your cast
there in Omaha.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Well, thank you, Dimingo. We appreciate that he probably passed Mara.
He probably passed us. We were stuck in traffic trying
to get this way while he was going to Georgetown
at Cherry Blossom. Got another on the avision glass Tex machine.
This is from a good Kentucky Wesleyan buddy of mine,
Ernest and Bug Rakes, great player basketball player number four.
He's a bullet canny guy. He said, Hey, buddy, you're

(29:05):
at my golf club. I'm a member there at Heritage Hill.
How about that? Where is he at today? Why is
he not out here? Maybe he is out here playing somewhere.
We have to wait and I'll find out.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
I got some inside advice on this eighteenth t all right,
what is it? He said? We're looking at about a
three forty off the tee. I'm out on that.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
If anybody else got a little three forty over water
in them.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Forty yards.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
With some water, Yeah, I appreciate whoever suggested that having
the confidence in us trying it. But I might as
well just take my bag and throw it in the
water before I clear that and land one on the green.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
What is it to the edge of the water. He
just finds the middle of the water.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
I don't have that in the bag.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
That that that that's the hole though, that you can
just really muscle up, and if you get a hold
of one, you get down there close to the water,
then it's a little chip over the water, which.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
I'm just not trying to muscle up. I got no
interest in muscling up. I'm a short game guy. I'll
meet y'all up there and we'll see who gets in
the whole first eight.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Five nine two two eight sevens our phone number, our
RK puppetshell phone. Then we got anybody else on hoole,
Matt Kyle, go ahead, Kyle.

Speaker 12 (30:11):
Hey, guys enjoying the summer shows and the random topics.
I have a random celebrity encounter. I don't know if
y'all would know him or not. He's a celebrity shift
Robert Irvin, the guy, big bulky muskiel looking guy. Shannon
Mike know him. He's married to a female warrestler, Gail kim.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Okay, I don't recognize him just by name. I have
to look him up and see if I recognized his face.
But okay, we'll have interaction, all right.

Speaker 12 (30:44):
So two years ago, me and my wife were in
Vegas renewing our wedding valve and we were I believe
the hotel we were at was the rio. I think
that's where we stayed, and I think that's where we
saw him. But we were just sitting at the slot machines,
and like right next to where we were sitting is
like kind of the hotel restaurant and bar, and he

(31:05):
was just like standing there with like a couple other guys.
And I pointed him out to her and I said, look,
I mean we watched Food Networks stuff all the time.
And she said, oh, that Robert Irvan. I said you
should go up and say hi to him, and she said, no,
I'm not going to do that. So I me being me,
I just walked up to him and said, you know, Robert,
you know, don't want to bother you or anything like that.
My wife is a big fan. Would you mind taking

(31:28):
a picture? And he said no, sure, and he waved
her over, talk with us for like five or ten minutes,
took pictures. I mean, couldn't have been a nicer guy,
but like told people were encounter but I mean he
was a really nice guy.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
I appreciate it. Man, thanks for fun. Most people were nice.
Most people don't get the oh play and turned to walk.
You don't usually don't get that or the I'm the
Cole Swindell. So all right, this segment is sponsored by
our friends at Draft Kings. Of course for all your
betty needs. You want to go to Draft Kings and uh,
the KASR parlay I think needs to make a return

(32:01):
tomorrow night for Game three, Young Drew, do you feel
good about a KSR parlay for tomorrow night Game three
between the Celtics and the MAVs.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Well, I didn't watch any of Game two. I was
at Continuity Baseball game. Yeah, no regrets there, but I
do feel a little out of touch with how the
series is gone having only seen one game. Can we
maybe group efforted a little bit? Yeah, I haven't committed
to anything. It's basically my points.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
The Celtics guy, So, Lill Shannon, what do you think
I mean?

Speaker 4 (32:27):
They obviously dominated Game two. It looked I guess Dallas
was in it a little at the end. Yeah, never
really had a chance.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah, I would like to start with Porzingis. Now, I'll
give you guys the option here. We can go over
on points or over on rebounds. His over points would
be it's a line. It's thirteen and a half. So
do we like for Zingis to get thirteen or fourteen points?
Or do we like him to get six rebounds?

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Now? What's did he re injure his leg? I think
he's good. I think he's good to go. I think
he's okay.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
Now I saw him limping a little bit with yeah,
limping at the end of the game.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Is it is it reinjured?

Speaker 6 (33:03):
I don't know. I haven't heard.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
That's just a swag. I'll like the pip lump. Okay, okay,
pick pick something. We'll all pick something and Drew can
kind of formulate it and see if it'll work out.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
I'll put it together. We'll get something official. But let's
who let's just hit you're Likingingis?

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, we can go either points or rebounds, the rebounds rebounds, Okay,
let's go Perzingis rebounds.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Uh over five and a half. H I like Drew Holiday.
Whatever assists he has, I go the over. He's been
the over on assists like five games in a row.
The dude is playing great. Everybody you know, Jason Tatum
and Jaylen Brown gets all the highlights the shine. Yeah,
but Holiday is the guy that's been the star.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
He's the blue guy. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
Holiday was one of our U with assists was one
of our hits.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
On Yes, that's why I was very happy with that.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
I'm trying to build it. Chris, Chris STAPs is down
to thirteen and a half just getting a point. There
were we doing rebounds? You said rebounds, didn't he rebounds?

Speaker 6 (33:55):
But he could score it too?

Speaker 4 (33:56):
All right, well we got we got two player props?
Are we all?

Speaker 10 (33:58):
Do?

Speaker 4 (33:58):
We like the MAVs of the celt.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
You and you and Mario and Billy can pick the
rest of it.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
I mean, Boston's not gonna go up three or are they?

Speaker 6 (34:06):
No, they're not.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Dallas is a two point favorite, and.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
The under has hit the first two games after the
overhit a lot through the conference finals hit.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
But does that bring down the over under total because
of that? Do they factor that into now? Maybe we
take the over because the unders hit the last two times?

Speaker 4 (34:24):
What about PJ Washington? No, No, he's gone call me.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
No.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
I'd rather take his points than his threes. And you
know Luca has hit the under on his point It's
like thirty two and a half last game or something,
and he was under.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
I mean it depends. I'll leave it up to you, Drew.
I mean, I wouldn't do it. But I mean, if
you look at it like this, I guess he's due.
He was over on threes in the first game. I
think he went one for five in game two. So
I'll leave that up to you.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
But your pick, well, nothing will be final, so I
send it in and get approval. But it sounds like
we're gonna go a little poor zingis yep? Well, Drew Holiday, Yeah,
I like the over. I like the over.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yeah on this game, you think Dallas is gonna have
a better offensive game than they've had.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Nobody likes to root for the under, just sitting there
saying this.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
That's horrible. Yeah over.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Well, we'll have the official parlay soon. But that's that's
that's Draft Kings looking ahead to uh to Game three?

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Do you have to read that?

Speaker 6 (35:18):
I do you know?

brick fountain and transport it back to my new house.

(37:50):
I would love to have it, but I just I

not good at well anything anything when it comes to
like building it with your hands. But if they're anybody listening,
I don't know, maybe I can hook you up with
