Welcome to Hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio, present it
by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Welcome back our number two Kentucky Sports Radio here at
KS Bar and Grill could crowd this morning getting ready.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
What do you think the crowd's could be right for
the game tonight?

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Well, first, pretty wrong on the first two exhibitions. I
thought it would be good and it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
It was pretty good on the first one, it was
not good on the second. No, I think it was.
I think it'll be. I mean, this is just an indicator.
It's eleven am and most of these people are in
town for the game, So I think that's a good
indication that there'll be a good crowd here today.

Speaker 7 (01:32):
Yeah, first game, you know, Kentucky Wesley, and the crowd
is pretty decent. Maybe a little bit more than that.
We'll be full, I don't think, but it'll be a
good crowd.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
I think it'll be great. Pope's first, uh first real game.
So we're let's talk. Well, let's do two things. I
do want to I want to you. You said you
had an election question.

Speaker 7 (01:51):
I have a legit serious election question for you.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
And Shannon.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
When he says a legit serious question, this is Ryan limit.
So what does that mean when you say a legit
serious question?

Speaker 7 (02:03):
I know what amendment to is about, yes, and I
know how I'm going to vote, But how is it
worded on the ballot depending on how it worded? How
it's worded, am I I don't know if I'm voting
yes or no yet? You know, right, well, how's it worded?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
I forget about how it's worded because I don't really
know specifically, although I have it written down. This is
what it comes down to. If you believe that the
fact that the state government should give be able to
give money to private schools to in order to like Basically,
what they want to do is they want to take
this student and say, if this student, if we spend

(02:41):
three thousand dollars on this student, now we'll give that
three thousand dollars to the private school the student goes to,
or give the three thousand dollars and let the family
get a tax cut for the three thousand dollars or whatever.
The amendment doesn't tell you how they'll do it. The
question is do you want to give the legislature power

(03:03):
to do that.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Here's my thing. The reason I'm against it is very simple. One.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
It will kill rural schools because city schools are different.
I could be convinced sometimes that in Louisville or Lexington,
it might be a scenario where it would work. But
in rural schools, you take money away from schools that
already don't have enough money, they're gonna get crushed. The
second thing is, I don't trust our legislature to do

(03:31):
something fair, Like do you do you trust the legislature
to do something fair? And then this is the third
thing for me as to why you vote no. Just
go look at who's paying for these ads. It's all
out of state corporations. And let's be real, who's for
this kid? Parents who already send their kids to private

(03:55):
school now they just want a tax cut.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
That's what they want.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
You're gonna get a weird set of election results because
there's a lot.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Of people in Louisville for it.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Like the people that send their kids to Trinity and
Saint X and Assumption like they're for it because they're like,
let's give us a tax cut. We're already paying for
private schools. So you're gonna, I think, see, it's not
gonna fall Republican Democrat like these things normally do. There're
gonna be some Democrats that are for it. Because they
already send their kids to private school and they're gonna
be some Republicans against it because they care.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
About rural schools.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
But the short answer is, if you believe the money
should go to the private schools, you vote yes. If
you believe they shouldn't, you vote no. That's basically the simple.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
Okay, That's why I wanted to know, because I didn't
know if it was worded to are you voting to
allow it? Are you voting to prohibit it?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
You're voting to prohibit it. But if it were to pass,
it's not automatic, then the legislature would be decide how
it's distributed. So the part of it is do you
trust the legislature to do that? And maybe you do,
maybe you don't. But that's that's what it is. That
make to answer your question.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
Yeah, okay, me having to read it when I get
in the voting booth tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (05:04):
He's went.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I went and voted, So you have not voted, not vote.
Have you voted, voted, Shannon, have you voted. I'm the
only one that's voted. I went and stood in line Saturday,
long line. But let me just say, you know, we
hear all over the country of all this turmoil. I
stood in the line in Louisville for forty five minutes.
People could not have been nicer. The little old ladies

(05:28):
working the polls could not have been sweeter. They weren't
the quickest with the computers in the world, but you
know what, everyone was patient with them, and uh, I
thought it was a Really it was kind of neat
seeing all these people of different types. I was at
Bowman Field, so like a lot of different kinds of
neighborhoods over there, So there were a lot of different
kinds of voters, but everybody who seemed happy, and I

(05:50):
actually thought it was kind of cool.

Speaker 6 (05:52):
I saw your pictures. It looked like a long one.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
It wasn't long, but it moved pretty quick. I mean
it was, it was long, but it moved.

Speaker 7 (05:58):
Are they expecting turned out to be heavy tomorrow?

Speaker 4 (06:01):
I know that they're expecting nationwide this to be insane turnout,
But it's also like, this is the most anyone has
ever early voted. There have been more early votes in
America than in any other election in the history of
the country. So they don't really know. Does that mean
they'll be significantly fewer tomorrow? Because everybody voted early. Nobody's
really sure. And that's partially why these polls for president

(06:24):
are kind of hard to know what's real because like
a lot of people are early.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Voting who didn't used to do it.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Used to be Democrats always early voted, Republicans didn't, But
now Republicans are starting to do it too.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
So does that mean the Republicans aren to win?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Have they just changed when they decide to vote? Nobody
really knows it's gonna be. You could tell me any
result to the presidential race, and it wouldn't shock me.
If you told me Trump swept all the swing states,
I wouldn't be shocked. If you told me Harris swept
them all. I don't think she'll win Arizona, but sweep
all the others wouldn't give me a shock. And if

(06:59):
you told me it comes down to Pennsylvania and they're
fighting over it for two months, that wouldn't shot me.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
I don't want.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
I mean, that's the one I don't want. I agree,
And that's the one, honestly, that I think is most like.
I think the most likely scenario Harris wins Michigan, Wisconsin,
Trump wins Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina. Georgia and Pennsylvania
are close. He ultimately wins. Georgia and Pennsylvania is uber close.

(07:27):
She probably leads, but it's not a lot, and we
fight about it for two months. I'm worried that's gonna
be what happens. Cover the spread.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
I agree if Trump's gonna win.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
If Trump's gonna win, which I hope he doesn't, but
if he does, I want him to win by a lot.
If she wins, I want her to win by a lot.
I do not want this country fighting each other for
the next two months. I just don't. I don't think
that's good for America. It needs to be definitive. Whatever happened,
I agree.

Speaker 8 (07:54):
Who's next, Matthew?

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Go ahead, Matthew.

Speaker 9 (07:58):
I an in a question, Yes.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Turn your radio, hearing myself in the background, all right,
that go for it.

Speaker 10 (08:10):
I think down another coach and a question is do
you think our basketball team will be good enough to
win the SEC Tournament? And I'm a first time caller,
and I hang up and listen.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
All righty, I lost you?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Well, sorry, sorry sir. On the basketball question, are we
good enough to win the SEC Tournament?

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (08:33):
I don't know if we're good enough to win the
SEC regular season, although I love the thirty five to
one odds that we all got a few weeks ago
or thirty to one odds, but I think in the
SEC tournament, of course, Drew, that's a one game scenario.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
We got a shot.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
Yeah, whatever happens in the regular season, I'm confident in
Nashville will be a home game like it normally is
for Kentucky. I know fans are so excited to get
back to that event with the chance to I don't know,
make it to Saturday, So you know, will they be
the best team in the field. Will they be the
one seed? Unlikely? But when the ball tips off, it's
gonna be seventy five percent blue in there whoever they're playing,
whatever their seed is.

Speaker 7 (09:07):
And we all love the fact how Mark two is
gonna put importance on winning the tournament.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
That's key. Yeah, Cal didn't want to play in the
SEC Turnment. Mark Pope wants to win the SEC Turnment.
He doesn't want to just go down there. He wants
to win it, yep. And that I think helps as well.

Speaker 7 (09:23):
When our coach is leading the charge to go down there,
not just to play in it, but to win the thing,
we all rally around that, and it'll it'll be crazy
environment in there.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
We heard a couple of years ago, I can't possibly
watch tape on these two teams, and I don't know
who we're gonna play. Pope will probably have watched every
team that's even on the other side of the bracket,
just all the analytics and information those guys preparing with.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
So let's talk about Right State tonight. Kentucky last year
was second in the in the country, and scoring BYU,
by the way, was third. You know who was fourth,
Right State? That's who we play. So you're looking at
you're looking at two coaches who coached there's two of
the four high scoring teams last year. They shoot threes

(10:03):
in an absurd rate. We're gonna shoot threes at an
absurd rate. The over under is one sixty one. That
is six points higher than any college basketball game playing
tonight except us. My point is, get ready to see
a lot of points. Wright State plays like us. They
don't shoot the ball as well as US, but they

(10:25):
shoot it just as much. This is gonna be a
game where, like there'll be wide scoring runs. They'll hit
two or three threes in row. Will hit two or
three threes in a row. We're better than them. But
get ready for a lot of points tonight.

Speaker 7 (10:38):
I think it could be a really fun game to
watch because of that, because not only does Right State
score over last year over eighty points a game, they
also gave up over eighty points a game.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
They were one of the worst defensive. They were like
one of the worst fifteen defensive teams in the country
last year.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
Yeah, like three hundred and forty eight on Ken Palm
in defense. They have a lot of people back, including
the preseason player of the year in the conference, a
big guy, so some talent, and the freshman of the
year a year ago. I'm just excited to play a
team that's you know, not D two, to really get
a test. I think Kentucky's gonna be all right. We're
gonna in for another fun night. But I'm just looking
forward to it finally happening experience.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
They do have a big That was one thing about
the two games we just played. We really didn't play
against a big man. They have a pretty good big
be a good test for Mary Williams and Garrison.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
If a Mari plays, which do we know if he's playing.

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Pope hasn't said anything. He was optimistic and said the
testing went well, but he didn't practice much on Saturday
or yesterday whenever it was said. He'd mostly do free throws.
So it'll come down to game time.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Right State, Rachel, who works here at the bar, went
to Right State. She's unfortunately wearing the Right State colors. Rachel,
that's not very nice. Put that away. She's doing the Raiders.
I'm gonna let you work tonight if you if you're
doing that, they.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
Gave us Julius Mays, so we have them to think
them for.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
That's right, that's where Julius May's played. I didn't, so
this is the Battle of Julius. Won't be a dry
eye in the house. As Ryan likes to say, never
picked fourth in the Horizon League. That's about the extent
of my research so far.

Speaker 7 (12:08):
So I got gokats Well, I thought we were gonna
say it for the pregame show, but we've busted out
some really good knowledge here already on KSR about their
Why would.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
We save anything for the pregame show. We give the
knowledge as it comes.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
Well, I didn't you know, I like to you some
nuggets on the pregames.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
What you're gonna but dream me some nuggets?

Speaker 7 (12:26):
Bring you some nuggets?

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Okay, yeah, all right, well we'll get I appreciate your nuggets.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Who's next, Peter, Peter, go ahead, Peter.

Speaker 11 (12:36):
Hey, y'all.

Speaker 12 (12:37):
So I moved to Tennessee, UH this past summer, and
I've never really felt all that strongly about the Tennessee rivalry.
So I've been taking the temperature of the tan base
for the last few months and I still just really
didn't have any idea what they were about. But I
went to Kneeland for the first time, and I was like,
I know, I'm gonna figure it out now. So I
walk in there. Everybody's giving me high fives, everybody's past

(13:00):
me on the backs, and hey, let's have a great games.
I'm like, hey, this is all right. I sit down
next to a guy he mean mugs me for a second,
but then he gives me a handful of peanut eminems.
I'm like, I've never been treated so nice at a
stadium before.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
When you say he gave you a handful of peanuts,
m and ms, do you mean he reached in his
bag and with his hands then handed you the m
and ms, or he let you go into the m
and ms.

Speaker 12 (13:27):
He gave me the opportunity to enter into the box,
I would do that.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
I wouldn't take a stranger's hands of m and ms,
but I would if he let me reach into the bag,
I would do that.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
Okay, no, no, it was it was. It was like
an olive branch.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
It was very nice.

Speaker 12 (13:42):
But anyway, so here's the thing that was going on.
Once they started booing everybody that was injured, there's something
in me that just snapped. Yeah, I'm telling you, man,
it was like, it's like the Hulk Hogan theme song.
It's like, you messed with my friends. I can't let
that slide. I'm a real American. So I took their
little That's exactly how it goes. So you know, their
little gang thign with the three fingers, right, and then

(14:04):
they turned I turned that stuff upside down. Man, it
was just downright.

Speaker 13 (14:08):
They're the worst.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
They're the worst fans.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
I appreciate that they were nice to you at the beginning,
but you saw their true colors as the game goes on,
and I appreciate the call. I've doubt they're the worst fans,
especially they're football fans. I don't find their basketball fans
that bad, but they're football fans. Tennessee has the nastiest,
meanest fan base in the country, and they take pride
in it.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
They don't just like.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
They're not just mean in the heat of battle and
then come back and go, oh well, I don't know
if I should they keep going. I mean, my mentions
are still filled with Tennessee fans calling me exactly what
they chanted our players like, that's just what they do.
They love being mean. There's a soccer team in England
called Millwall. They that is like known for their fans

(14:55):
are awful, and so they take pride in we are awful.
I kind of feel like that's what Tennessee does.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
You went down there two years ago they stole Dane's
grandma's wheelchair.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
What who steals a wheelchair?

Speaker 7 (15:08):
Did? Why have you never told this story? I forgot
about it.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
You forgot Dane's grandma's wheelchair got stolen years ago.

Speaker 7 (15:18):
She parked it, walked it, walked to her seat, and
went back to get it after the game and it
was gone. Somebody stole a wheelchair.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
And that you you held onto that for two years.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
Forgot about that. Yeah, so they stole a wheelchair? Yeah,
probably some woman who was chewing tobacco.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
What is it with you and the chewing tobacco?

Speaker 4 (15:36):
They do all they women, they chewed about all they
women chewed the bat and they spin on your shoes?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Okay, can we just focus on the wheelchair.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
Yeah, it's true story. They did. They stole her wheelchair?

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Was it one that she took in or was it
like the stadium? It's her own personal wheelchair. Should they
stole her own personal wheelchair?

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Yep, they sure did.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Hell is not hot enough for people who still wilcheir.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
That's what I'm saying. The Tennessee fan base is me.
We'll take a break. It back to Kentucky Sports Radio.
A good picture, Shannon George straight by the way, I
say this because Zach Topp has a cover of this song.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
His uh, his manager ks r like, no matter.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
What you people know, what where, what like, who you are, etcetera.
We mentioned that top his manager's brother listens to this show.
He's now invited us to any concert we want to
go to. Really comes to Cincinnati and Columbus in a
couple of months, and so maybe we'll go up there.

Speaker 7 (16:34):
And see is he in but Montana for I don't.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Think he's out there during that.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Speaking to that, I'm like getting the specifics this week,
you know, very exciting.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
I'm looking forward to it. Are you looking forward to it?

Speaker 7 (16:48):
Yes, I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
That exciting robot it didn't sound to take.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
Yes, I am. I am very excited to go on
the trip.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
You're gonna have to at your cornbread Hemp Cornbreadhemp dot
com promo code KSR help your rest relax. You might
need it while we're driving through the snowstorms in Montana.
It is cornbreadhamp dot com promo code KSR full spectrum
flower only helped Hemp CBD help you rest and relax.
I took it after the postgame show Saturday, went right

(17:18):
to sleep, got that extra hour sleep, got up and
did Sunday Morning with Matt Myron. You can too, not
the radio part, but you can take the Hemp cornbreadheimp
dot com promo code KSR. The All right, so since
we see the kid with the Pope hat, I guess
he left.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
He left, all right?

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Well, was good to see your kid with Pope hat. Uh,
he didn't even say bye. I just boasted his picture.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
It's all I wanted. Got his picture, got out here,
say bye, back to the Vatican.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Didn't even buy meal.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
I don't think he did, all right, Sorry Pope kid,
it still looks good. The Friday night, Arkansas played their
last exhibition game at TCU. Kids showed up with a
Pope uniform on bought tickets right behind the Arkans I
say a kid, It was an adult bro brought tickets

(18:06):
right behind the Arkansas bench and set there the entire game,
dressed as Mark Pope with a Kentucky shirt on fair
or file one fair.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
I mean it was.

Speaker 7 (18:17):
It was a road game, it was at TCU, so
fans are gonna be doing that. So yeah, the but the.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Funny bought a ticket right behind the Arkansas bench.

Speaker 7 (18:27):
That makes me respect that game. We gotta find out
who he is and get him on this show because
that was a boss boss move.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
What do you do, Soluly Fair? It's my my fan
of the day. You know you said he goes to TCU.
He's a Kentucky fan. He doesn't have many opportunities to
show his Kentucky fandom. We don't play at TCU. So
he found the expecs next best thing and got behind
the former Kentucky guys to show off his poke for it,
shanding you for it.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
And as he's supposed to be getting a dig out
on Calipario. I don't think Caliparian cares that Mark Pope's
the coach at Kentucky anymore. So I think it's a
little weird.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
I guess I.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Think it's I guess our Let me tell you.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
I know John cal Perry cared about it to show
up in Kentucky gear wearing a Pope hat right behind
the bench. You think you think you know John Calperry
shean and you don't think that's gonna be.

Speaker 8 (19:12):
A dig No, I don't think he cares.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
I think you are. I mean, I can tell you listen,
I can say.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
One thing with confidence. Col's gonna be following everything that
happens here in the same way, by the way, our
fans are gonna be following what happens there. I mean,
we can all sit there and act like we're all
bigger than that.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
No we're not.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
And now look in the camera, y'all online think you're
bigger than that. You click on the stories every time
something's written about Arkansas and ks R. We see it
if it says cow And every time the ark go
look at my mentions. Every time I talk about Kentucky,
the Arkansas fans are in it.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
It's what it is.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
It's like when Kentucky Louisville fans say, we're obsessed with
each other. Yes, that's the point. That's what a rivalry is.
So yes he cares about it. Yes we care about it.
And that dude, I thought it was funny and people
who are angry about it online get over it.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
It was funny.

Speaker 7 (20:03):
I hope they find that kid. Invite him to the
game on February first, when Arkansas comes to Upperna. The
kid that would put him bold right there behind them.
Give him the tickets. Anybody wears a Pope costume, We're
gonna give you a good tickets.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
What if the whole crowd wore Pope costumes.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
I really think some merchandise person you got two months
buy the whole student section.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Pope costumes for the Arkansas game. That would problem? Would
that be?

Speaker 6 (20:27):
That would be pretty good to your point about the
interest can talk. You got a basketball commitment and lost
a football game to Tennessee and the biggest story on
KSR this weekend was fan wears Pope out. Yeah, Arkansas game.
Look this morning.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
You know it's the same people, the same people who
get who say and I see this all the time.
KSAR didn't talk enough about sports. You know, after the game,
you should be railing on stoops and blah blah blah
blah blah. That's not what people want. People want. People
want something different than what you want, and people want
to know things like that, dude, sit, that's what people

(21:03):
want to know. And that kid or I guess with
an adult he won the day, right, and Arkansas lost
the game.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
And by the way, what happened?

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Arkansas lost game, didn't score in the final three and
a half minutes and couldn't.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Get a shot off on the final play. Well, where
have we seen that before?

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Mentioned Coleman previewed the game.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
So Loo's next.

Speaker 8 (21:20):
Glenn in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Glenn in Pennsylvania, How are you hey?

Speaker 9 (21:24):
Doing good? Guys? Hey, my son and I are coming
down the KSR tonight before the game for our first trip.
What the is a go to menu item?

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I mean, you can get the best things at this restaurant,
in my opinion, are the wings, the the caso that's
with the you got it. There's two kinds of caso.
You want the beer cheese caso where it has the
potato things to dip in it in the cheese logs.
Those are the things I think, and then people like
the barbecue tacos too, and.

Speaker 6 (21:53):
Once it's getting cold, like right now, chili Gillespie season.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
So yeah, that's those are your choices. And then you
can get the nil beer country Boy like all the
good stuff.

Speaker 9 (22:03):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, all right, guys, looking forward to
seeing you fellows again and go.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Cat four point thirty is the pregame show tonight. Are
you going to the game tonight?

Speaker 7 (22:11):
I'm gonna try to watch both games. I mean, I'm
really excited to see the women's team. You know, they
didn't have any exhibition games. They just played against the guys,
their practice guys in the Blue White game, so this
is the first time to see what the women's team
has as well, so I want to try to watch
both of them.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
I am.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
I am excited to see the the women's team as well.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
I think it's gonna be. I think they're gonna be
They're gonna be good.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Who they play South Carolina Upstate tonight five o'clock.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Are you excited for the Kenny Brooks are to begin?

Speaker 6 (22:40):
I am, and the doubleheader's cool, but you know, if
they were on different days, I'd go to both too.
I hate how you know the men's will probably hurt
the women's crowd of even like Patty who comes to
our remote, she had to pick one or the other.
As cool as will for the people to be at
home just to watch them back and back, I do
worry the women's crowd will be hit about to set up.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
I don't know why they did that.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
I mean, maybe they didn't have a choice, but I
think it would have been better play the women.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
Tomorrow or something right.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
Especially the women debut in the updated Memorial Coliseum. It
needs a night of its own. We would all go
it allot.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
I'd be in there if I didn't have game.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Show the game.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
I mean, I guess five is better than doing it
at seven, but I just it's nobody. It's gonna be hard.
You can't go to both, so it's just gonna be tough.
We'll take a break a five nine, two, eight oh
twenty two eighty seven here at KOs Bar and Grill
it's Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
TJ Smith, personal injury attorney.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Call TJ.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
He'll make them pay.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 8 (23:35):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
It is a nice hoodie. I'm not gonna lie. I
just tweeted out a picture with me with the Pope kid. Yeah, goodpidding.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Now it's got the one. I'm meeting my parents for lunch.
I wonder if they're gonna be like because the back
of it's like it's too many pictures of her face.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
It's like twenty pictures. But you know what, that's all right?
Go Taylor?

Speaker 6 (23:54):
Which is your favorite of the Taylor heros? No, you're
such an area.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
I don't know any of the heirs. I think I
know like five of her songs.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
Well, when you did Taylor Swim Trivia that night, you
had to learn about the difference.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
No, I've learned that there were eras, but I don't remember.
Something about dead poets, society, reputation, Yeah, she's got shaken
off and something about crying on a guitar.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
There's something that I know that I like when I
hear it, I know that's a song, but I don't
I don't know a lot of the names.

Speaker 7 (24:26):
When she was here at Rupperina, what maybe five years ago,
she was very complimentary how beautiful Kentucky was. Yeah, I
had in front row seats.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
You know what I'll never do again front row a
Taylor Swift concert. I didn't know at that moment. When
she was at rough five years ago. You know, it
wasn't like winning the lottery to go.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
I had a friend who took his two daughters, and
as the ticket prices kept going up on the secondary market,
he had a number that he said because they bought him,
like from from Ticketmas. When I went on sale, he
had a number that was like, if it gets to
this number, I'm selling my two and just letting the
daughters go and we'll meet them outside when it's over.
And it didn't quite that, no letting, you know.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
Because this past weekend, right, that was her last shows?

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Any nice last show in the United States. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Uh, if I'm nine two eighty seven, I've had a
bunch of you are writing me saying will you do
your uh the preview where I pick what's gonna happen
to election? I wait it tomorrow just because there's a
lot going on today, but I think it's very honestly
think there's only two states you have to pay attention to,

(25:35):
Pennsylvania and Georgia. She wins one of them, she wins,
he wins them both, he wins. I think that's all
that matters.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
I heard on the news this morning, Harris is going
door to door in Pennsylvania. I don't think you're able
to get to all the doors at a lot of doors.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
That's a lot of doors. I don't think there's gonna
be all.

Speaker 7 (25:51):
That many boots on the ground.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Look at you, boots on the ground. Did you watch
the Breeders Cup?

Speaker 7 (25:57):
Didn't watch any of it.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
I just want to give a shout out of the
the Breeders Cup. Kenny McPeak yep Lexington, Kentucky, here been
a great horse trainer won the Derby and he had
never won the Derby to this year one won it,
never won the Oaks till this year one and had
never won a Breeders' Crred Cup race. And then he
wins again with Torpedo and went won the Distaff. So

(26:18):
big shout out to Kenny mcpee, big UK fan and
uh I think fan.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
Of this show. As well one on the biggest stage
on Saturday.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
Yeah, we talked about this the pregame show. He is
a Lexington guy, through and through went to Tates Creek,
grew up here. His horse farm is just north of
town here. Loves this area and the people in the
town loved that guy.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
I did not do well bretting betting the Breeders Cup.
It was not a great day. I got one big
win with straight no Chaser that somebody gave me a
tip on it one, but otherwise bad day. Breeders' Cup
is hard. They got all these foreign horses, and I
don't know how to read the I don't the day
the gods, like, I know, speed numbers and stuff, but

(26:58):
then you bring these foreign horses. They have different numbers
in their grass and they run the wrong way and
I can't ever tell which ones which, and so I
don't do well with the Breeders.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
Cu Meters, I mean, yeah, they got meters crazy.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
They got people like they run backwards, and it's just
impossible to figure out what to do with.

Speaker 7 (27:14):
Those think they run backwards?

Speaker 6 (27:17):
Well, you O were gone. Kenny Peakle was a guest
on Kentucky Sports Radio to talk about his big wins.
Little did you know he had more big wins to
come at the time.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Can I ask you one question about horse racing. This
is for people listening who are in the horse industry.
I noticed I watched a lot of the Breeders Cup
on Saturday. I watched nearly every race. They have this
new thing now that they do that I don't think
they used to do, which is when the race is over,
they show you all the horses that are in it.
And then you know, they've always shown the jockey and
the name and the uh and the trainer, but now

(27:48):
they make it a very important point to tell you
who bred the horse, like this horse was bred here.
Now listen, I'm gonna be very simplistic here, cover your
kids to me. Aren't you just putting where they had sex?
Like what like, explain to me. I get that, the

(28:09):
that the stud and the mayor, I mean, I get that,
but the place where the breeding took place.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
What are they doing?

Speaker 7 (28:18):
Why do they get like, well, they have to provide
sensual music, but is that.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
Really what they're doing is setting the moon?

Speaker 4 (28:27):
Like why is it? I mean, I understand why you
would say who the male was? I understand why you
would say who the mother was because of bloodlines.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
But when they say these horses were bred at this place.

Speaker 8 (28:38):
I need to know this on every athlete, every sport
across the board.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
But exactly like when Lebron's place, they don't say Akron Hospital.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
I mean they.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
Don't, they like they don't. I don't What am I missing?
Why does it matter where it took place?

Speaker 7 (28:54):
I know that the certain farms feel like that they
do a better job, but what do they do?

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Okay, but we've been we watched it. It felt very
visceral and it didn't feel like there was anything. I
didn't feel like anybody was doing anything there that helped.

Speaker 7 (29:15):
I remember one.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
Person helping out a lot, because I remember thinking that's
a job I wouldn't want to have to do. I
don't have to get into what they were doing, but
they lended a big hand. Let's say that in the process.
I assume because these maybe these breeders want it to
be out guess.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
But why should I the viewer care? Like what I guess?
What I'm asking at?

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Are there places that do it better than other places?

Speaker 7 (29:39):
I think they The stats, yeah, show the work. Maybe
they have more successful winners, but why. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Okay, I don't know. So the answer is, we don't know.
But the DNA comes from the horses. Yeah, I just
I didn't know, and it was a big thing. They
would do it after every race, and I didn't understand why.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Who's next?

Speaker 7 (30:03):
Junior?

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Still don't understand. Why? Go ahead?

Speaker 13 (30:07):
Hey, hey, you hear me?

Speaker 5 (30:10):
Yes, go ahead.

Speaker 13 (30:13):
I love the show. One of my favorite things about it.
Everybody has a tape and an opinions. As far as
the breeders, if you look at the description of the race,
you know, six furlongs on the turf.

Speaker 11 (30:27):
Yeah, it'll tell you.

Speaker 13 (30:28):
Kentucky Thoroughbred Breeders Association adds prize money if the winner
is born and bred in Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Okay, all right, Well that makes sense because they want
people to do it in Kentucky. But do you think
a particular place is better at it than another place?

Speaker 13 (30:44):
I don't, but I did notice on the undercart of
the Breeders Cup, California has the same thing.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
I got you.

Speaker 13 (30:51):
Okay, my question to you. I was a little lukewarm
on the Pope higher, but I've since come around. His
heads in the right spot, his heart's in the right spot. Yes,
I'm all in simple questions. Are we gonna play n
c double A tournament games on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (31:09):
Well, I mean we could play on Saturday. Are we
gonna play?

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Basically you're asking, are we gonna win one NCAA tournament
game this year?

Speaker 5 (31:16):
Is that what you're asking?

Speaker 11 (31:18):
No?

Speaker 13 (31:18):
No, b Yu did it play?

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Yeah no, no, yeah, smart Pope will play If we
play on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Pope will play.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
If you're asking if because he's a Mormon, if he
can't play on Sunday, he will play on Sunday. It's
only b y you So like you know, there are
Mormon players that play on Sunday, it's only that university,
uh that doesn't play.

Speaker 5 (31:41):
So that's a that's a good question.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
I mean the SEC tournament finals on Sunday, So if
he was gonna play in it, he'd have to.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Uh have to do That's where I was going with. Yeah, no,
but I think the answer is yet appreciate the call.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
Yeah, that's not a Mark Pope thing, that's a.

Speaker 5 (31:54):
B Yu thing.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Yeah, that's b why you that decides that? And you
know there are Mormons that make it to the NBA.
I think they play on Sunday as well, so I don't.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
It's an interesting question though I hadn't thought about it,
but I don't see any reason why we would.

Speaker 7 (32:06):
I thought you was going with like what you said, though,
are you just saying are you do you hope we
win one game in the NCAA tournament to play in
the weekend of the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
We're winning one game this show.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
I don't know if we're winning two, but I think
we're winning one for sure.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
Who's next?

Speaker 8 (32:21):
Shame from Grayson, Shame from Grayson.

Speaker 14 (32:22):
Go ahead, Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Fellers?

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Good?

Speaker 14 (32:28):
Hey? Two things. One, No matter how you feel about Stubes,
I think one day there will probably be a statue
out for ant I mean at the Commonwealth.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (32:39):
And two, I was looking over the draft Kings and
Louisville the twenty one and a half point favored against
more Heads States night A lot.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
More Heads got a new coach, so I don't know
what they're like. Louisville's got a new coach, so I
don't know what they're like. So it's just your I
think you're just guessing at that point, so I couldn't
say really, I mean, I don't even know who more
it's coach?

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (33:06):
I mean that Preston left for James Madison, So I
don't know. I appreciate the call. Uh, let's do our quickly,
our draft Kings pick for tonight. Let's pick a game.
I'll tell you what I like, the late one. You
gotta stay up light late to bet mine Baylor Gonzaga.
Gonzaga is a six and a half point favorite in
the opening tip off. I'm gonna say Baylor covers that

(33:28):
six and a half. I don't know if they win
the game, but you give me. I think those teams
are bad. Even you give me six and a half Drew,
I'm gonna take the six and a half point, So
give me Baylor.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
Well, that was gonna be my player for that very reason.
They have a lot of new pieces, but they're big
names from college basketball that got roach from Duke. They
have the big five star edge GOM as long as
U let's just make that our play. Yeah, we'll just go.
You know, I'm excited to watch that one. I'm gonna
stay up. It's getting a top ten matchup on day
one is exciting, especially Gonzaga team. We're gonna travel across
the country to see. I'm really looking forward to that

(33:57):
and I hope it's close.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Yeah, by the way, some games to if you're a
Kentucky fan to care about. That game's at eleven thirty
on the ESPN two at ten o'clock tonight on TNT,
which I didn't even know they did college basketball games
on T and T. Texas and Ohio State we play
both of those teams this year, so they play at
ten o'clock. That'd be kind of uh, excuse me, that
would be kind of interesting to watch. And then Texas

(34:21):
A and M, who has been picked ahead of us
in the SEC, plays a road game at Central Florida tonight.
Who's Central Florida is supposed to be good, so we
might see how good Texas A and M is. So
those are you know, a couple of games besides the
Kentucky games you might keep your eye.

Speaker 6 (34:36):
I think Florida South Florida starts right as Kentucky hens too.
If you find that one. Want to watch a little
bit of the Gators. But it's here, it's right in
front of the US. A lot of games to watch already.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Texas Ohio State though two teams we play I actually
think that's a good one to watch.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
I think Texas and Texas A and M both will
have pretty good, really good years this year. They're both
really good.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
Yeah, tell me about Stocktor Morgan.

Speaker 7 (34:55):
Oh, I got it pulled up here Stockton Mortgage and
this says, if you're looking for place to call homer
in football season, working with Stocton Morgan to give you
the home field advantage. Doctor Morgan has nineteen branches across
Kentucky and dozens more beyond. No matter what you're rooting for,
Stocton Morgan is in your corner. Literally, talk to Stockha

(35:15):
Morgage today about your home loan needs and final loan
officer nearest to you. Check out their website at Stockton
dot com in MLS A two five nine equal housing Linder.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
We'll take a break and be right back. Ryan got
a scoop right. We'll see if he's scuttle butt hopefully
is wrong. This is KSR Welcome Back. Final segment Kentucky
Sports Radio here at Ksbar and Grill Game Women's Game five,
Men's Game seven, pregame show four thirty. We'll start having
You're welcome to come in before and after those of

(35:43):
you going the women's game, come watch the men's game.
Those of you going the men's game, come watch the
women's game. Up and we'll be here for the pregame
show eight five to nine two eight zero, twenty two
eighty seven A. Kayden Lewis picks Kentucky. A top twenty
five recruit picks Kentucky. Not there you go, that's worth
clap and not from the state of Kentucky. Pope now

(36:05):
has the number two ranked class in America. Only Duke's
is ranked higher. And he's still got one other guy
that he wants to fit to go and get, which
would put us only point oh three points away from Duke,
so we would almost be number one. Uh you said
you thought Caleb Wilson was leaning Arkansas, but the Arkansas

(36:25):
visit was canceled. So do you think now maybe we
get him as well, and Pope kind of gets a
clean sweep of his top choices.

Speaker 7 (36:33):
I think now they can put the full court press
on Caleb Wilson, just really go all after him. I
think they've already up their offer to him. So that's it.
He's got it down to three North Carolina, Arkansas, and Kentucky.
Everybody seems to think it's really between Kentucky and Arkansas.
So Pope, you got the you got the big time
in state talent, you got a big time kid out
of state. Now, can you beat caliparian a recruiting race.

(36:54):
It's gonna be interesting to see if he does.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
I mean literally, this is like their top four choices.
I mean that would be for all. I mean my
question always with Pope was I think he's gonna be
good at everything. Can't he recruit?

Speaker 5 (37:07):
Well?

Speaker 6 (37:07):
I think he would have answered that question right there,
right Oh, absolutely, right away too. I mean, he got
lucky that two of the guys were in Kentucky. Got
to think you have a little bit of a home
advantage there. But then to go out and potentially add
Lewis and Wilson having already had Lewis, anyone that was concerned,
I'm what more of a statement do you want him
to make?

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Yeah? Pretty awesome. By the way, here's the answer on
the breeders cup.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
I guess I should have figured out what's the name
of the event, so the breeders pay for it, and
so that's why they put it on there, Shannon, I
guess maybe that should.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
Have made sense.

Speaker 7 (37:43):
You know, sometimes I guess.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
I didn't think that the word breeders in Breeders Cup
would be about the breeders, and so they are publicizing
the breeders in the Breeders Cup. You know, sometimes the
answer Ryan is righting of view, and you don't know,
and you just And that's.

Speaker 7 (38:03):
Why I still want to think though one breeder provides
a better mood, a better setting than another breeder, I
still just let me think that.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
You think it's like a hotel.

Speaker 7 (38:11):
Yeah, yeah, clean waterbed, seductive music.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
You get you're the kind of person that likes water.

Speaker 7 (38:18):
Oh, I had a waterbed for twenty years. Probably waterbeds
are awful. They were great. And then when it's really cold,
it was warm. You get in there and it's nice
and warm and cozy.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
What year did you get rid of your waterbed?

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (38:30):
Probably mid nineties, mid to late nineties.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
But doesn't it like, I mean, doesn't your back hurt?

Speaker 7 (38:36):
Oh no, not at all. It was awesome. It didn't
adjust to you.

Speaker 5 (38:40):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
Well, they should bring them back.

Speaker 6 (38:41):
So when you like, if you're sharing the roll over
another person just floating around.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
Yeah, when she rolls over, is it like a wave
that knocks you out of bed.

Speaker 7 (38:50):
Well, no, but it's kind of a soothing little rocking
that kind of rocking you back to sleep, like when
you're a baby in your room.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
Why don't people do it now? I don't know.

Speaker 7 (38:57):
I really don't know why we lost our water beds.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
I think that I remember I knew somebody. I thought
it was awful.

Speaker 7 (39:03):
I loved it.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
There's yeah, who's next, John, John? Go ahead?

Speaker 15 (39:09):
John, Hi, guys, thanks for taking my call. And John
here bred in a house in the south end of
Louisville about thirty nine years ago.

Speaker 7 (39:18):
Uh.

Speaker 15 (39:19):
I had read an interesting story that I thought you'd
be interested in trying to make it real quick. The
Nerds Company.

Speaker 5 (39:25):
Uh.

Speaker 15 (39:26):
In two thousand and five, their annual revenue was fifty
million dollars, and since five years ago, whenever they introduced
the Nerds gummy cluster, it has now contributed to ninety
percent of their sales, and their annual revenue for the
past year was five hundred million dollars.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Wow, that's a great story.

Speaker 15 (39:44):
I have one good idea to make, in.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
My opinion, is the best candy that I have ever had.

Speaker 12 (39:52):
And I hands down agreat with you and I have
not I mean.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
I have to.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
I have to moderate myself because I would eat. I
would eat a huge bag every day. So I like
limit myself to sit literally six or seven Nerds clusters,
because if I don't, I'll just be fat, like because
I will eat. Though they it is the best candy
that has ever been put on the planet.

Speaker 5 (40:18):
Name a better one, say, chocolate ones.

Speaker 4 (40:23):
I'm saying, can you name a sugar based candy that
is better than that one?

Speaker 6 (40:28):
I have sour Patch kids in the conversation, but Nerds,

the arena to do the pregame show in for everyone
in Seattle to come say hello on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (41:37):
So I hope you'll plan on doing.

Speaker 11 (41:39):
That, Queen Anne Beer Hall is massive and they have
a lot of Seattle cracking events.

Speaker 5 (41:46):

Speaker 11 (41:49):
Yeah, yeah, that that's a huge one. And it's really close.
But keep an eye on the pass. I mean the

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
