I think it's gonna just be a fun matchup because
Gonzaga is always at the top in point score. This year,
I think they're averaging ninety one. I don't know the
exact rankings at this moment, but you know, UK's right
up there with them. I think the two styles are
gonna be a lot of fun and make it a
good high scoring game.

I think it's gonna be a ton of points. I
think so they play Pope.

We even said this, they play a little Clemson inside,
they're a little stronger rebound well, they got some dudes

like their whole team we know them all. I mean,
we played Gonzaga, nim hard. You got Hickman, Hickman who
was committed to UK. People forget that we're facing a

well in Kentucky last year. All these guys average between
like eleven and thirteen points this The scoring is pretty
spread out, but a lot of familiar names that we've
seen in games before.

press conference yesterday, I'm more confident in this Kentucky team
after the Clemson game than I was before. And his
argument was, they got down seven, they were getting out
worked out, rebound out everything, and yet they still came back,
took the lead and it was a one possession game
with three minutes to go. Do you agree with that attitude?

I'm gonna take the last two games, the Western Kentucky
and the Clemson game where they didn't have their best
shooting night, so they had to find a different way
to claw their way back into it. You know, they
did it against Western wh they weren't shooting very well,
and they really did it against Clemson though they didn't
win the game.

I think Gonzaga is probably gonna try to take a
page out of Clemson's book and maybe try to be
physical with Kentucky if they have the guys to do that.
Gonzaga also shoots a lot of three point shots, so
I think it's gonna come down to who whose shots
are going down from behind the arc.

Yeah, Kozaga talk about being physical. Bullied us last year
in Rough.

Now grant it was a completely not one player is
the same, but they bullied us in Ruck last year.
I mean it was that was probably Kentucky's outside of Oakland,

We haven't played well against him yet in this series.

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting because obviously you're gonna have

Clemson game. Some guys we talked about maybe playing more

to see the changes he makes against Gonzaga to come back,
you know, getting beating and rebounds, not being out to
score efficiently.

is quote a little bit of a problem. Said he

made the decision. I can tell you there was an
initiative by the Conference commissioners, by the conference ads. They
said we're gonna take the four major sports, which the
way they look at it in college athletics is basketball, football,
women's basketball and baseball, and they said we're gonna make

the SEC the best in all four sports, and I
think they've done it. They've always been the best in football,
They've always been the best in baseball. They have in
recent years become the best in women's basketball. The only
thing left was men's basketball, and I think they're there.

I saw that somewhere through there were the remnants of
the nineteen seventy Wichita State football team crash. Everybody knows
the Marshall team crash, but a lot of people don't
know that the Witch a state football team crashed like
fifty one people.

Only ten people survived.

Right the part of where the crash is is in
an area that is so hard to get to that
they have basically left most of the remnants there of
the plane, like the pieces of the plane, the things
that were on the plane, and so you can go
to it, it's like an hour and a half hike.
I didn't really think this group was up for it,

so we didn't do it. But apparently it's one of
the only, maybe the only scene in the United States
where a plane is crashed and it's kind of been
left like it was so pieces of the plane are
still all over the place. And I was like, it
is so odd in our society to think there are

places in this country that are so hard to get
to that only a handful of people have ever in
the history been there, and that where that plane crash
is one of them.

You know, we went through some really remote areas where
it was hundreds and hundreds of miles of nothing but land,
and then we meant hundreds and hundred miles of nothing
but mountains.

But think about they just left the stuff. They They
were like it would be too hard to get all

kind that. I don't know what it was about that story,
but that was really crazy to me thinking about as

Stoops is a gut guy, and it just seems like
a gut check to bring that guy in and kind
of keep that going because if it's hard to earn
the respect of your O line, and he did that.
But maybe Stoops is more of a liver guy and
and the GA just didn't fit in to Bourbon.

The there is a there's a trend online of a
lot of people because they don't like Stoops's coaching and

think it's fair to him. You can totally believe that

Baylor by forty, looked like a juggernaut. Then they lost

to West Virginia and we're down fifteen most of the game,
which was kind of weird.

San Diego State pounded them at San Diego State. San
Diego State then went and played well. So they've looked
great in every game except West Virginia, so maybe that
was just a fluke. How do you see it going
on Saturday, Drew?

I think it's gonna just be a fun matchup because
Gonzaga is always at the top in point score. This year,
I think they're averaging ninety one. I don't know the
exact rankings at this moment, but you know, UK's right
up there with them. I think the two styles are
gonna be a lot of fun and make it a
good high scoring game.

I think it's gonna be a ton of points. I
think so they play Pope.

We even said this, they play a little Clemson inside,
they're a little stronger rebound well, they got some dudes
down load up and down and their dude, I feel
like their whole team we know them all. I mean,
we played Gonzaga, nim hard. You got Hickman, Hickman who
was committed to UK. People forget that we're facing a
former what's the bigs name the I think it's pronounced
k but it's spelled like, yes, he killed us last year.

And then they added Battle from Arkansas who played really
well in Kentucky last year. All these guys average between
like eleven and thirteen points this The scoring is pretty
spread out, but a lot of familiar names that we've
seen in games before.

Mark Pope said Ryan after the game said in his
press conference yesterday, I'm more confident in this Kentucky team
after the Clemson game than I was before. And his
argument was, they got down seven, they were getting out
worked out, rebound out everything, and yet they still came back,
took the lead and it was a one possession game
with three minutes to go. Do you agree with that attitude?

Are you more confident after the Clemson game.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
I'm gonna take the last two games, the Western Kentucky
and the Clemson game where they didn't have their best
shooting night, so they had to find a different way
to claw their way back into it. You know, they
did it against Western wh they weren't shooting very well,
and they really did it against Clemson though they didn't
win the game.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
I think Gonzaga is probably gonna try to take a
page out of Clemson's book and maybe try to be
physical with Kentucky if they have the guys to do that.
Gonzaga also shoots a lot of three point shots, so
I think it's gonna come down to who whose shots
are going down from behind the arc.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, Kozaga talk about being physical. Bullied us last year
in Rough.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Now grant it was a completely not one player is
the same, but they bullied us in Ruck last year.
I mean it was that was probably Kentucky's outside of Oakland,
worst performance of the year last year, and then we
kind of got run against them two years ago up here.
We haven't played well against him yet in this series.

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting because obviously you're gonna have
to see my putt makes some changes, and maybe he
saw some things and wook some things out in that
Clemson game. Some guys we talked about maybe playing more
minutes than we expected. And hell, it will be interesting
to see the changes he makes against Gonzaga to come back,
you know, getting beating and rebounds, not being out to
score efficiently.

Lamont Butler, according to Pope, his issues his ankle injury
is quote a little bit of a problem. Said he
didn't he didn't have an update on whether he would play.
You know, we always usually have a conversation about who's

opinion after watching this it's Lamont Butler. I mean, I

I don't think they can lose him if he doesn't
play Saturday.

I think I don't think he's always going to be
as bad as he was. But if you told me,
for instance, Lamont Butler was out for the year, I
would say, we've got to find a way to turn robinsoner.

with current as your starting point guard and expect to
make a real run just because he's too inconsistent and
maybe most.

think they've done it. They've always been the best in football,
They've always been the best in baseball. They have in
recent years become the best in women's basketball. The only
thing left was men's basketball, and I think they're there.

I saw that somewhere through there were the remnants of
the nineteen seventy Wichita State football team crash. Everybody knows
the Marshall team crash, but a lot of people don't
know that the Witch a state football team crashed like
fifty one people.

Only ten people survived.

Right the part of where the crash is is in
an area that is so hard to get to that
they have basically left most of the remnants there of
the plane, like the pieces of the plane, the things
that were on the plane, and so you can go
to it, it's like an hour and a half hike.
I didn't really think this group was up for it,

so we didn't do it. But apparently it's one of
the only, maybe the only scene in the United States
where a plane is crashed and it's kind of been
left like it was so pieces of the plane are
still all over the place. And I was like, it
is so odd in our society to think there are

places in this country that are so hard to get
to that only a handful of people have ever in
the history been there, and that where that plane crash
is one of them.

You know, we went through some really remote areas where
it was hundreds and hundreds of miles of nothing but land,
and then we meant hundreds and hundred miles of nothing
but mountains.

But think about they just left the stuff. They They

kind that. I don't know what it was about that story,
but that was really crazy to me thinking about as

I know. I called Stoops. I said he created a

quarterback the entire line respected and liked. And I know

Stoops is a gut guy, and it just seems like
a gut check to bring that guy in and kind
of keep that going because if it's hard to earn
the respect of your O line, and he did that.
But maybe Stoops is more of a liver guy and
and the GA just didn't fit in to Bourbon.

Yeah, listen, I have to say, and I appreciate the call.
The there is a there's a trend online of a
lot of people because they don't like Stoops's coaching and

based on where the stuff person I think that's a
terrible trend. These I will say this, and I've said

think it's fair to him. You can totally believe that
Mark shouldn't be the coach at Kentucky. I think that's
a reasonable opinion. I think it's a reasonable opinion to
think he should. But I there's this trend to kind
