Speaker 2 (00:32):
Welcome everyone.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio Friday, January the third, here
on a cloudy day in Lexington, Kentucky at the KS
Bar and Grill.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
A rare Friday at the Bar.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
I think our next ten or twelve Fridays are remotes,
but we are here today and you can come out
and see us.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
You give us the calling.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
The Clark's Puppy Shop full nine eight five to nine

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Smith Loves You, called TJ.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
He'll make them pay it is uh really the calm
before the snow? So I what is the latest here
on the snow? Every time I look, I feel like
I hear a different thing. What are they say?

Speaker 2 (01:14):
And it seems to me, of all people I know,
you follow the weather the closest.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
So I heard a report this morning on the radio
coming in. They're predicting anywhere between eight to nine inches.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Eight to nine that's where we are now. That's where
we are now, so not freezing rains, but snow.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
The if it changes like you, like you said yesterday,
the northern Kentucky could get eight to nine and we
might get the ice here in central Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Which which one do we want? I really have the snow?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, And so it's the people to the south of us.
Then you're looking at like what e town Somerset? Is
that the ice?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Probably? Which is awful? You know, that's when they do
you know what you're talking about. I just heard the
weather report this morning. It'll change by this afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, what are you hearing?

Speaker 5 (01:53):
I uh?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Sources.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
So I tuned into the local news last night. I
don't do that often. I watched the little Chris Bailey
That's what I went with last night, trusted him. Sleeves
weren't up, but he had like a little map I
guess you could call it, had purple pink and then
lighter pink. Lexington was in the pink. That was kind
of icy. The purple north of us was the snow.
But we were right on the line. So it seemed

(02:14):
as of last night, I could go either way.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
All right, So Shannon, I'm sitting. I just sent you
Chris Bailey's number. Okay, all right, why don't you call him.
I don't trust either of these two forecasts.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I don't trust Chris pink.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
He talks about his pink purple, you asked Chris Bailey. Okay,
and see if he'll jump on here for a second
about that, right, Okay, So last night I tweeted out
something that's kind of you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I just wanted to disturb the pot a little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
I just did a little thing saying, you know, where
could I find a good snow output computer model? Because
you remember Mark Weinberg said if you post a snow
outburg output computer model, I will have you deported, uh
to Siberian?

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Is that what he said?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
It was something like that, huh. So I did it.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I asked for it, and then I tagged him, Bill
Mack and Chris Bailey, you know, just to kind of well.
First of all, I was looking for a snow output
computer model, and.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Second I thought those guys would have the best chance
of knowing where they were.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Now, I didn't know you could do this on social media,
So I want to thank Mark Weinberg. First of all,
I know Chris Bailey, I know Bill Meck, I like
both of them. I don't know Mark Weinberg, don't know him.
Might be the nicest person in the world. So this
is not I'm not defaming him. He's just a little
spicy and I think he takes his weather a little seriously.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Okay, So I tagged him. I tagged all three of them.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Tag thing was up about ten minutes, and then I
went and I noticed that Mark Weinberg was no longer tagged.
You know how it'll be like in blue if you
tag somebody. His had not gone non blue. And I
was like, oh, I must have made a mistake, like
and how I did it. So I went back and

(04:04):
I edited it because you can do that now, and
I tagged him again, and then it showed up and
I was like, Okay, you know I made a mistake.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Blah blah blah. Got up this morning untagged again.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Who Okay, I did not know.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I guess you can untag yourself from post like leave
me out of this. First of all, hate that because
I like tagging Ryan and get him getting his his
message box filled.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
But I think.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Mark Weinberg untagged himself twice on my snow input.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
Can I can I tell you that I think I
know why why he's not very happy with us. Do
you remember when we made fun of him because we
said that he farted live on the air.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
He did fart live on the air.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
Well, I think all of our people tweeting him and
making fun of him.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Maybe he heard his story.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
He didn't like that, but he did.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I mean he did pass gas were being he did
on the air, like that happen. But so he untagged
himself twice. Does this man take computer snow models more
seriously than most of us treat the most serious news
in the world.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
Yes, First of all, make fun of me. Yeah, I'm
learning this untagging thing for the first time. I saw
your tweet where it was just written out and he
wasn't blue, and I thought he had blocked you, and
you just kind of I.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Don't think he's blocked me because it looked like I
can still see like Pete Thamel has bought me, okay
years ago, and so I can't see a Pete thame
ol tweet.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Rick Bosch has me blocked. I always wonder what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Rick Boss blocked you. There are only like two people
that have bought me that I know of, uh Mark
Weinberg and and Harabolob the investors. You know guy used
to go on Bill Simmons And I still don't know
why he blocked me either. But but Mark Weinberg untagged
himself twice from my tweets, which made me sad because

(06:00):
I thought he might have the snow computer model.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
I am hearing this also for the first time, and
I am so excited. I cannot wait to learn how
to do this. And when you tag me in one
of your ridiculous it's where you.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Can now did you do have Chris Bailey?

Speaker 4 (06:12):
He did not answer.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
He sent me directly to voicemail, you know, like when
you get one ring and it goes to voice.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Tag him he want he'll want to come on, he likes,
he likes to come on. Let's let's or text him,
not tag em, excuse me, text him and ask him
if he will come on, because I feel like we.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Need a direct from the person weather forecast.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Seems like Mark is taking himself out of a conversation
with these big weather personalities, almost like he doesn't want
to be one of the top guys.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
They all hate it, don't want to be on. We
all hate each other, you know. The O BW Rumble
is Saturday night. By the way, if you like the
Royal Rubbers, you can buy that. Say we're already sold
out so you can't come, but you can buy it
on pay per view. It's like the Games early, so
it's like seven eight bucks. You can buy it that
night and watch. Shannon did not get invited to be.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, what's that man? Come on?

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Because you are a little uh, just a little whip
whipper staffer.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
You're not an actual You're not an actual rest. I'm
not an actual wrestling. We could put the three weathermen
in there, and I would like to. I'd like to
see that.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Triple threat match, a ladder match up there.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
First one touch the doppler Doppler on top of a
Doppler's like computer thing, right, the Doppler weather model. Okay,
so now it's have you been to the grocery yet?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
I am going this weekend. I've not been yet.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Well you better go. I bet it's like empty down.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
It may be, it may be, but I'm I'm absolutely going.
You're going to have a noon pick up. I'm hoping
that everything I ordered is the dune pick up. Straight
from here, I will be going to my parking spot.

Speaker 7 (07:35):
You know, why are we acting like we're gonna be
snowed in for a week?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Like do you you will snow this city?

Speaker 7 (07:42):
You can go a couple of days without going to
the grocery store.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I can't. We have nothing in your refrigerator. Well, I
mean I don't have anything. I don't have any.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Door grocery store.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Well, I have to hope that a restaurant is open.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
So I'm probably gonna go to Louisville because my Louisville
house is closer to places to eat. Yeah then my
Lexington house, and so I'm probably gonna go to Louisville.
Louisville tends to actually clean up the streets a little
bit quicker honestly, at least in the neighborhood whilife because
there are businesses. Yeah, so I'm probably gonna go to
Louisville and try to hunker down.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Hunker down there.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Something we've not talked about. Do we all need to
take equipment home in case we're stuck. I need to
do the show.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I have equipment home.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
But yeah, there's a good chance if there's snow and ice,
there's a good chance we'll be closed here Monday and
we'll be doing the shows at our various houses. So
but I'm excited about it. I don't know about you.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
I like it. Do you all like a big snow
like once a year? No? But you get the kids
get to stay home. Don't you like that? No, you
want them to get out of your house.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
So it's time for the kids to go back to school.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, well, you guys don't want to give you want snow, right,
you don't want to go Who wants to go to school?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
That's the worst.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
So I'm the one person who's got to show up regardless.
You guys can do it, right.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
He has to show up.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Used to back in the day when iHeart wasn't cheap
they would there was a hotel across the street, they
would put people like Shannon up in the hotel.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
I think they're gonn do that. Maybe maybe they are
going to do that for you. Okay, that's so they
do that because we have to be on the air
for the for the people.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yes, Shannon's got to be in the studio, so he
can just bring a sleeping bag and just sleep in
the studio tonight.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Have you preps got your salt down?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I have a little container, but I don't. I don't
think that's gonna be enough.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Do all your prep hauled a bunch of salt out
in the front. He should when's it supposed to start
Sunday evening Sunday? I think that's not Sunday Day. I
think it's like Sunday four o'clock maybe.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay, So tomorrow for the game, should all.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Be should be fine?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Right?

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Should be fine?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Well, everybody be careful with the snow. Well, hope we
get Chris Bailey on at some point and he could
let people all over know, because I do trust Chris Bailey.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
He takes it very seriously.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
So it does bring Kentucky has to fly out to Georgia.
I guess they'll fly out on Monday one. If that
will affect their flight plans.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Maybe they'll go Sunday. Yeah, maybe Sunday.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
You got Mark Fox and Pope used to live there.
Maybe get their old spots, make a little stay out
of it.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yes, we played George on that's right on on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Now.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Kentucky plays Florida tomorrow morning, eleven o'clock. Early earliest start
for a UK game that I can ever remember. I
can't ever remember an eleven am start. I would go
so far as to say, I bet we've never had one,
and I still don't even know why we have one
to that, Like this week, I went and looked in
the future weeks. They're not playing games at eleven. Why

(10:25):
are they playing? Why are we playing at eleven?

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Well, you mentioned I think what Tennessee Arkansas's after us,
and then you got NFL games, So you think.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
They just want to get it done before the NFL.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
I think, so squeeze in our game, squeeze in Tennessee Arkansas.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
So yeah, ESPN has a doubleheader. This is kind of
their kickoff to the conference season. It is Kentucky Florida
followed by Tennessee at Arkansas.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
So two big games.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, to start SEC play, but we're first and we
are eleven.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Am. Are you feeling confident about the game?

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Unfortunately, I'm not really, just because I think Florida's really
really good. I mean they're good. They're not undefeated for
an accident. They're a good basketball team. They got that
uh what's his name, Clayton Junior, the point guard. Yes, Walter,
Walter Clayton j From. He's played well, he had very
good you know, we haven't talked about his yet. Florida
has a kid that's seven foot nine inches.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
He is seven foot nine. Have you seen him? Yes,
he's mad.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Now he doesn't play, no, but he They have a
guy you need to if you're at the game tomorrow,
rup watch him in warm ups.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
He's seven foot nine. He can grab the rim without
even being on his head.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
How does he not play?

Speaker 7 (11:30):
You're you're eight foot tall and you can't play nine?

Speaker 3 (11:34):
He well, I mean, and I don't say this to
be mean to me. He must be terrible. If he's
seven foot nine and can't get in, he must be.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Pretty kind of slow moving guy.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
But he is.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
He is.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I'm sure someone that just as a human being, Drew.
I would like to just vision, like just see what
he what what he looks.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
Like, because his clips are incredible. As you can imagine,
he does not have to do anything around the rim,
but just lift his arm up and put it in.
I assume the reason why he can't play much right
now is when you're that big, it's so hard to
be quick and move around.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
You wouldn't want to be that big.

Speaker 6 (12:07):
He can't guard anybody.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
He can't get it well. First of all, just think
about buying clothes.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, yeah, I mean just buying clothes in and of
itself would be awful.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
You have to special order everything, like I have.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
A friend who has size fifteen feet. It's it's a
terrible existence. You can't buy shoes in normal situations. You
have to order everything online. Most size fifteen, everything nice
is sold out, so you cause it's all NBA players,
so you end up having to It's a tough thing
when you're seven foot nine.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I don't know what that guy does.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Not shoes, the pair of pants finding meta and it
seems a little different.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
When Sean Bradley played at seven to seven. He can
move a little bit, He can play. The NBA people
for game. He's a second pick in the draft. Sean
Bradley was this guy's seven nine and just you'll you'll
see this kind of like doesn't move very well.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Now the official line hasn't come out. There are some
like unofficial lines floating around. The official line will come
out this afternoon. You think a couple of the unofficial
ones had Florida as the favorite.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
What do you think Kentucky's gonna be? You said one yesterday?

Speaker 6 (13:08):
You still one or two Kentucky just with the home
court advantage. I think it's pretty even if these two
were just on a neutral court and no crowd and
we're just playing basketball. But I think with it being
at RUP, you know, we talked about it being early
for Kentucky. I mean, Florida's first true road environment is
eleven AM. That's gonna be difficult on them too. But
I think Kentucky point or two.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Well, I hope Here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
I hope Kentucky fans, we need to get to the game.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
You know, you need to.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Be there when it starts, right, So we open here
at nine, our show starts at eight thirty. Come in,
you canna have breakfast and then go. But you like
we need to be there, ready to go. The problem
for this Kentucky team has been the start. We have
started poorly in like our last seven games, and I
think you mentioned it drew yesterday, Ryan. We can't start

(13:57):
slow and at eleven am on a Saturday.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
That's a way you start slow if you're not careful.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Yeah, think got to find an answer to figure out
how they can get off to a better start, because, yeah,
you get down early in some of these SEC games
and may be too too late to to come back
because the SEC teams are really, really strong.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
I genuinely believe that this game is going to be
a game that will almost decide what where can Like
I will bet you at the end of the year,
Florida and US are very close to each other. This
could be a game that's a tiebreaker to get a
double by in the SEC tournament.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Like I think it could be that important.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
I think so too. I mean, right now, not have
any games yet. Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama I think could be
fighting for one through three, and you know, Florida Kentucky.
This game could decide who's number four at the end
of year. Is still a lot of basketball to be played.
But we could be looking at the last week the
SEC and this game decided who's playing on which day
of the tournament.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Totally agree with that if I'm nine two eight h
twenty two eighty seven. Will continue to effort, Shannon, how's
the effort coming with Chris Bayley.

Speaker 7 (14:58):
Oh, we're still efforting.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
No answer. We'll keep it busy. He We shouldn't be busy.
This is more important thing going on.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
We will take a break and we'll be right back
here at chaos Bars. Kentucky Sports Radio, Stop collaborate and listen.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Eight five nine two twenty
two eighty seven. Where are you folks from? By the way, Frankfort.
Frankfort is in the house. You had the state capitol.
It is state capital.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, A lot of people don't realize that I.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
Used to trick people on growing up in Indiana. Is
a capitol in Kentucky pronounced Louisville or Louisville. Got it?
I got him, You just I got him every time?

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Dude, like he's so he just you can't couldn't get
near him when he was in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Great joke or sparbs. Yeah, No.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Recovering from that one could not slow down there chief
eight five nine two eight h twenty two eighty seven,
give us a shout A couple open lines, one person writes,
Tell Shannon he needs to get prepared. People like Shannon
are part of the problem. They don't prepare and then
they clog up the roadways.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
You're part of the problems, I am, You're part of
the reason we have problems. So prepared.

Speaker 7 (16:04):
I've got me a hotel room right down the street.
I'll probably stay there on Sunday night.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Actually, so which hotel downtown?

Speaker 7 (16:10):
Lot of one on my fans like knocking on my door?
I can't tell you like which hotel?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
I'm man okay, Chris Bailey says, you can call it okay?
We why don't you?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Why don't you go ahead and do that? I'm nine
two ah twenty two eighty seven. Why we wait for
him a second? Did you see what happened to the
young dude on Georgia Parker Jones yesterday? A name that
no one knew and that no one knew they were
going to know until yesterday.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
And I'm I'm part of the large crowd of the
Internet that searched his name and went through all the memes.
I didn't hit like. I'm not even saying I enjoyed it.
But there was a lot of Parker Jones on the
internet last night.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
If you didn't see Parker Jones is just like a
walk on. He's one of the He's one of those
dudes that they're not going to have on football teams
anymore when the new regulations come. He's just like a
white guy with a bowl haircut that it probably has
a father.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
That's a donor or something that is on the team. Yeah,
they're not. Well, let's save it because I want to
talk about it. But Chris Bailey is on.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Okay, So Chris, thank you for coming on. We like
to have you on for weather emergencies. How how are
things coming in the weather room And are you fighting
with anyone?

Speaker 8 (17:20):
No, no fighting as of yet. We still got to
face ourselves matter.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
As you know, we have the winter storm coming Sunday Monday,
and it's a it's a big hitting system, a significant
snow for the northern part of the state, freezing rain,
sleet along in south.

Speaker 8 (17:38):
Of sixty four. I think it's going to be fairly significant.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
It's a situation where you hope there's more snow or
sleet than freezing rain. Freezing rain is just a pure
ice that you know, accumulates on everything, power lines and
trees and stuff.

Speaker 8 (17:52):
And that's the that's what we want to avoid.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
But Chris, is it gonna be the worst?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Like if you were to say, because we had people
obviously listen all of the state, what is the area
that if you're in that you think right now is
the one you think that you say the freezing rain
is the worst?

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Where do you expect that to be?

Speaker 8 (18:08):
It is right now probably along and south with the
heaviest band of freezing rain of sixty four.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
So give me like to Danville, Somerset.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
You're talking Danville, maybe Richmond, through Big Sandy Valley, Paintsville, Pressensburg,
Pipe Wills and places like that. And then farther to
the north of that is where that heavy snowband looks
like it's going to set up right now?

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Is that north are we're talking like northern Kentucky for
the snow?

Speaker 8 (18:35):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
And the thing to keep in mind with this mat
is that everything with this system, you know how some
will go like southwest, northeast or cuts in different directions.

Speaker 8 (18:46):
This thing is just moving.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Like a bowling ball due west to east, so you're
going to get all the precipitation amounts coming in a
straight line from west to east. So, for instance, what
happens in Louisville is life to happen in Lexington.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
So what do we think happens in Louisville and Lexington?

Speaker 5 (19:05):
I think both cities will get significant amounts of snow
to start, then go over to sleep freezing rain, and
then back to snow.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
So it's Monday all over the States.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Yeah, it is, it is, and Sunday, Sunday through Monday
is a mess. And the you know, the sad part
about it is the fact that whatever falls doesn't matter,
Matt because uh, it's going to be there probably a
week later because it's going to be so cold after.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
So how cold does it get after? Ryan was saying
zero degrees? But of course Ryan doesn't know anything, So
what about you? So how cold is it going to get?

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (19:41):
Hey, hey, Scoop is right on it. You're you're talking
right around zero. Give it take a little bit Wednesday
Thursday of next week zero.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Wednesday Thursday of next week.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
Zero, that some may be below zero, because what happens
if you get a clear If you get a clear
sky over top of a no pack, whether it's snow
or ice on the ground, that temperature just bottoms out.

Speaker 8 (20:05):
And uh yeah, Wednesday Thursday.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Zero degrees is very cold, so so before. But the
great information. So if you were to say so, do
you think everyone in the state for the most part
gets affected by this in some way?

Speaker 8 (20:18):
I do. I do without question.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
The the lowest impact right now is going to be
the Tennessee border counties. But even there, compared to what
I was thinking yesterday, I think their impact is greater
than yesterday. So I think they start out as freezing
rain for several hours, they will briefly go over to
some rain tomorrow night for several or year see whatever

(20:41):
this is Friday, on Sunday night, I should say, for
several hours, and then everybody ends the snow again on Monday.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
So total accumulation in Lexington and Louisville you think will
be what I for.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Snow, you're talking about the potential for several inches. I
can't really put an number on it yet, because here's
the thing, Matt, when you're dealing with you know, for
Lexington and Louisville, we're going to get three different precipitation types,
and how long do you how long of a duration
do you get a snow, How long of a duration

(21:15):
do you get a sleep? And how long do you
get a duration of freezing rain?

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Do you expect power to go out in lots of
the state.

Speaker 8 (21:24):
I would say there is going to be a large
chunk of power out is just coming up.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yes, all right, well, Chris, not great news, but at
the same time, you you at least give it to us,
and that's good. And so you're basically saying, if you're
in that Danville Richmond area, those are the places to
kind of be the most work right now.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
If I yeah, if I'm within if I'm within seventy
five miles of inter State sixty four on that southern
side of it, right now, I think that may be
the prime zone for ice.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Chris Bailey from wk y T, thank you very much
at Kentucky Weather on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
I need a fight from you this weekend. Don't let
me down.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Listen, man, I'm too old for that stuff now, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
The younger man too old you Listen.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
All you gotta do is tell wine Berg you got
a snow model and it'll be on.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Thank you, Chris, appreciate it, all right, Thank you guys.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Seventy five So from I sixty four south seventy five
miles that's the danger zone.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
So if you're in that area, watch out.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
And it sounded like awful even Lexing and Louisville, because
we get all three snow, sleep, freezing rain. All three
of them could hit.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Danvillyn, Richmond, Bert who knew Larry Vaught. Make sure you're undercover.
I'm not too far from Richmond. I might catch a
little of the Richmond storm too. Yeah, Somerset, Bob and Jamestown.
Are you gonna be Is he gonna be all right?

Speaker 4 (22:47):
He can come up, stay with you.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
No, he's good right where he is.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
We don't need to We don't need to bring him
this way. All right, we will talk a little bit more.
We will take your calls right after this. It's Kentucky
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called Tea j.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
He'll make them.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Pay now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Do you know who this is? Uh? Ryan?

Speaker 4 (23:09):
I know this song? I don't know who it is.
I know you did.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Take a guess.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Think about what think about what's going on right now?
Shannon likes to make things associative. Go ahead, keep the
music playing so we can hear it. What would the
name of this artist be so that you can you
can hear it?

Speaker 4 (23:24):
The snowman?

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Closer? Close?

Speaker 3 (23:27):
Think about informer, but wadea the weather man. No, he's
not named the weather man. You're now getting farther away.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Oh the iceman.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
No, no, no, do you had one of the words, right, snow?
So what would his name be?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Snow person?

Speaker 2 (23:44):
No? Close, just snow, this snow. His name is just snow,
just snow. I didn't know that. Informer.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Do you remember this song? Oh, I definitely remember the song.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Yeah, name named snow? Snow?

Speaker 3 (23:55):
If I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven, One person writes,
Matt even with weathermn uh, you always interrupt him.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Why don't you let people finish his hentence? Yet?

Speaker 4 (24:04):
You gotta keep them moving, You gotta keep him moving.
He had a lot of information we wanted in a
short amount of time.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, and you gotta you gotta get the weather people
to the point.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
They're used to filling time on the air, and they
just yab Yeahber and you gotta like go, Chris is
really good.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
You just gotta say, hey, what about this?

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Yeah, hey, tell me you some actual cities.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
They give me some shit to the.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
All right, so real quick, before we go from Parker Jones. So,
Parker Jones, he's standing there. He's got his frat boy haircut,
he's got his jersey, but he doesn't even have pads on,
so like he's not gonna play. He's just there hanging on.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Referee. Uh, George's gotta run.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
They're going, referees running down the sidelines, and Parker gets
in the way and he hits the referee. If you
go back and watch the replay, you can see the
referee's face getting angry while he's like, he's like, what
are you doing?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
You're you little snot fifteen yard penalty for interference? Tough?
Look right, Yeah, Kirby's goes crazy.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
He starts yelling at him, back up, back up, He's
and then poor Parker Jones, I mean he's like, the
Internet is made to give this kid a hard time, right,
they look him up, They're like Parker Jones. Then all
of a sudden, on Twitter, everyone's searching his web page,
you know, his his player page on George's website crashes.

(25:18):
So many people are going to it in part, he's
the number one trend in America. And all I could
think about is what if you were him on the
sideline and like you're you feel bad, but you probably
have no idea that the whole world is talking about you. Right,
So then the game keeps going, Georgia loses and at

(25:39):
the end ESPN was just diabolical drue. With a minute left,
they show him on the sideline and go. You gotta
wonder what Parker Jones is thinking, as if he was
the one that caused him the game. I mean he
did that was like in the second quarter. It was
early in the game. But Parker Jones, what do you
think his life is like right this minute?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
I can't remember a reaction and a network zooming in
quite aggressively as that was. There was also a sorority
group chat about him that leaked like.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
There was not a sorority group chat.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
Yeah, yeah, he caught a lot of strays that had
nothing to do with fall.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
There was a sorority group chest.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
It wasn't a good look for him. Oh poor sorority group. Yeah,
it was about him. I mean they put it out
reacting to this. I was just thinking, someone please get
to the locker room and get his phone before he does,
and just tell him, Parker, can you imagine we're gonna
knock it on our phone tonight?

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Can you imagine when he turned his phone on? He
had to be like you remember I've told you that
story before on this show about the woman who made
the joke that was inappropriate before she got.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
On a flight to South Africa.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Do you all remember that story and that she was
then when she landed, she had lost her job and
all this stuff, and they talked about how she turned
her phone on and her world had just changed. I
wondered about that with Parker Jones last night.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Yeah, he is now George's bartman. You know, he's a
poster child for that loss. How can he walk across
campus when school and classes were zumed, because man, everybody,
everybody on that campus knows who that kid is.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
But he didn't cost him to get No, he didn't.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Thirteen points, but it was will he be on the
team next No?

Speaker 2 (27:16):
You want to be in Georgia next year?

Speaker 6 (27:18):
Got sad because I I was for Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I was rooting for Notre Dame.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
You think he's not even at george No, and I
I he had zero impact on that game. He really
did as the first quarter. Kirby even said in his
press conference, we didn't take advantage of the first intent anyway,
Like it really didn't hurt him that bad. I couldn't
believe ESPN zoomed on him in the fourth court.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Couldn't either. That was mistake.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
It happened in the fourth quarter, all right, But it
is hours later and they're showing him again. He has
his back, he's walking towards the locker room and they're
zooming in on.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Let me just say something to Parker Jones. Parker, I
kind of feel bad for you. You were just excited.
He was just excited. Hang in there, It'll be okay.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
You know what. You might not be able to stay
at Georgia.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Alabama's good though, there's other good colleges hanging there.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
You know.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
I feel like Bart Bartman went away. Hopefully Parker Jones
doesn't have to go right right now TV, Like, come on, man,
he didn't do anything like he's picking his nose.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
On TV at that moment. You know, he is peeing
his pants because they just call it off.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
He's trying to hide. You feel bad for my Jones
brethren there Parker.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
What if he wants to transfer to Kentucky?

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Do we take him? We need some better players than Parker?
I think yeah, next year. Who's up first? Zach? Zach?
Go ahead, Zach? Yes, sir? Do you hear me? So?
I had a question. I had a question for Ryan.

Speaker 8 (28:44):
I sent you a message on the text machine last night.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Ryan, are you with the door dashing? I'm really excited
for you?

Speaker 9 (28:51):
But are you taking things out for like your taxes
and purposes?

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yes? Are you fine? Are you taking Are you taking
your taxes out.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
As a realtor? You know you're a W nine employee.
So yeah, I'm familiar with them. What they I gotta
do this? Did you do it yesterday? I did for
a couple hours.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Did you get any people who gave you extra tips? Negative?

Speaker 4 (29:09):
No, they must not have been listening.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Had a ton of people write me say they were
gonna give you extra tips?

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Did they not do it?

Speaker 5 (29:15):
Well?

Speaker 4 (29:16):
I did it a couple hours after the show, and
then I wanted to get home watch the Georgia Notre
Dame football game.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
So I had a suggestion. I appreciate the call. Somebody
suggested this, and you have to tell me if you're
up for it. But would you want to take a
night that you just delivered directly from Ksbar, take out
the middleman of door Dash, and you did that, and
then that way it would be fans of the show.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I'd love it.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
I think it'd be a lot of fun. You get
to meet some people.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
And then baby Mario would go along with let's do
it all right, So we'll do that one. I don't
know when, but we'll pick a night and then that
way we'll just take out the middleman, you know, door Dash.
All they do is just take a bunch of money
from you. This would be direct ks Bar to Ryan
Lemon to the people.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Any night, but Sunday night and Monday nights is gonna
have ice and snow.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
We could do it Sunday night.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
That's what we need you the most.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
That's what people would would would need at the mode.

Speaker 6 (30:06):
Get big tips, Oh, big tips.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
I'm down. We may not be open, but but.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Because I mean, nobody's gonna come in here and eat,
so we may not be open, but but either way,
you're up for that.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Yeah, I think fans could directly get from you.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
I think it would be just a lot of fun.
I actually enjoy it, you know. So that's one reason
I picked to do that. I had some other you know,
I was looking at what can I do to pick
up some extra cash. This was appealing to me. I
think it's fun.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yes, only fans.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
That's next week.

Speaker 7 (30:38):
How's your feet?

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Feet?

Speaker 3 (30:42):
I got little bitty feet like that?

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Again?

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Please, I think people are watching only fans of Ryan,
just doing show prep and regular Ryan.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
That would just be sleepy if you did that. Who's
up next? Hunter? Hunter? Go ahead? Hunter?

Speaker 9 (30:58):
Hey, you guys do today?

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Doing good?

Speaker 8 (31:02):
So?

Speaker 9 (31:02):
Uh, little tip for Ryan. So I'm actually a full
time DoorDash driver. Do you just need so? He needs
to try to get one hundred orders in a month,
because what they do is they have special programs. I
don't know if he's hit it yet, but essentially, once
you hit the highest program, you can go whenever you want.
So you're not waiting on door Dash. You can actually
just do it whenever you want. You can go however
long you want.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
And then my second we cannot tell you real quick
before you go to your second one can I.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Tell you what I saw a door dash driver do yesterday. Yeah,
I've never been madder. I was at Chipotle.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
This DoorDash driver was waiting on his food and the
place was really crowded, so I'm sure he's waiting longer
than he wanted to wait.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
I heard him. I'm at the front of the line,
and you know.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
You know me, I can't stay quiet, Like I want
to stay quiet, but I can't stay quiet.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
But I don't like when people are rude to people.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
I especially don't like when people are rude to service people,
especially in the food industry. These people don't make enough
money for what they're doing, like and at Chipotle they
don't even like get tips, so like they don't even
have the big money day. So it's no reason to
be rude these people. This door dash driver sitting there waiting,
he said, where is this food? And she goes, we'll
get it to you in just a minute, and he
mumbled under his breath the B word, and I went

(32:10):
and so then I was like.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Hey, dude, no reason to be rude to her.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
And he goes, you shut your mouth, I'll say what
I want, And I'm like, don't be rude. She's gonna
get there as quick as you can. You don't have
to be rude to her. And he starts coming at me,
blah blah blah. Well, then the woman comes and he
I don't know what happens between the two of them.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
I didn't see it. I'm paying for my food.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Next thing I know, he spits on the woman. No,
we literally spits on the woman. She calls the police.
She calls the police, says, kicks him out of the restaurant.
He's cussing at her. Police come. She wrote his license
plate down, So I think there'll be at least one

(32:53):
last less driver for you have to compete with.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I was.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
I couldn't believe how rude this dude was to her.
I mean, call it, spits on somebody.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Isn't that an assault?

Speaker 3 (33:04):
I mean it's something I don't know what I would.
I'll leave that to the police department. But and then
as I was leaving, the police came in. He was
gone at that point, but I saw him come in
come into the place.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
That's awful.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Anyway, go ahead, What was your second point that was?

Speaker 9 (33:19):
I've had I've had similar situations. I've seen other doorashs
that but not that extreme. Second point is so I'm
actually from Utah. I call him the postgame shows quite frequently, actually,
but I actually get to come to the Alabama game.
It's my first ever Kentucky game. So I want to
hear one area because we have we come in about Thursday,
so we have Thursday and Friday to explore Lexington.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, one one.

Speaker 9 (33:43):
Restaurant from each of you that I should go to
and try, and I'll hang up.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Appreciate the call, all right, So if you were to pick,
obviously I'd love for you to come here because this
is a wonderful Kentucky experience. But let's take this off
because we're biased. What would be the one Lexington restaurant
you would suggest that people come in from out of
town try if they want a Lexington experience.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
I always suggest Carsons because it's not ridiculously expensive like
Tony's and Jeff Ruby's Carson. The food at Carsons is awesome,
it's a great environment. So I'm going with Carsons.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
Using my number one recommendation too. If you're looking for
like something truly Lexington, I think of like certain items
like a fried chicken American or something like that, but
just another good restaurant. I always recommend Carsons and Tulip
are my two that are kind of a chain, just
kind of a good dinner in Lexington that they don't
have anywhere else.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
I think even though it's Italian and there are places
in America you can get better Italian. I think Giuseppe's
is a very Lexington right It's out there, it's.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Kind of like hidden and it like you walk in.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
It's just a very Lexington kind of feel out there
in the middle of nowhere.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
If it's springing summer, I always recommend Palmers because you
could sit outside.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Hey, this year, go beyond resolutions and create a happier,
healthier lifestyle you can be proud of. That's what our
friends at Cornbread Hemp are hit here for. Relieve aches
and pains. Help you sleep feel better naturally without to hangover.
It's cornbredhimp dot com. Use my code KSR checkout for
thirty percent off your order corn Brett Hemp It's the
good life. UK women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks will join

(35:10):
us in the second hour. They had a pretty amazing
win to start their season. Sec play. We'll be right
back to Kentucky Sports Radio yeah, I least a court
working back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at Ks
Bar and Grill. We're open here in fifteen minutes for lunch.
Got some folks here. You said you lived in South Carolina?

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (35:32):
It's good nice from here from South Carolina. Gonna be
uh excuse me, get better get home before all the
snow hit you here coming up.

Speaker 6 (35:40):
Another good crowd in here with not much school going on.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah, no, no school works works out well A f'
nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. One person said, Matt,
if the Parker Jones thing happened at Kentucky, do you
think our fans would be mad at it? Yeah, but
I don't think our fans are as angry on the
football side as some of those guys are.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Now.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
But let's let let's let's use a let's use an
example that we're used to. Let's say it's the NCAA
Final four. All right, it's the final four, and and
uh what was it? Brian Long, remember Brian Long or
Sam Malone gets a technical from the bench in the

(36:24):
first half while we're making a run. So we're down
let's say eight in the first half, and he gets
a technical we still end up losing by ten, But
do you think people would would be upset about it?

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Yeah, of course, and they would blame him and say, well,
that's where everything changed, and you know we were on
a roll till that happened. In the momentum change. They
would find every excuse in the world to blame it
on that kid.

Speaker 6 (36:50):
Yeah, I think there'd be a lot of backlash. I
don't think it'd be to the extent of this. And
I can't even imagine they're walking off the final four
and they're zooming in on Sam Malone. In that scenario,
let's steal what made last night so weak?

Speaker 2 (36:59):
I couldn't.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I mean, they really, they just called him out at
the end. It felt like an extra little you know,
that they.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Didn't need to do.

Speaker 6 (37:07):
I think they have a big role in this. But
I agree that it would happen at Kentucky. Maybe not
to this extent, but I think there'd be that kind
of backlash of all walk on and play that a
role like that.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Let me give a shout out to the women's team,
since we are gonna have Kenny Brooks on the women
yesterday one by twenty in their first game in the
SEC over Mississippi State at home. First time in program
history that two different players on the team both made
seven three pointers in a game.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I don't know. I mean, Corey Price can tell me
if the.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Men have ever done that. I don't know if the
men have. I would be surprised if that's ever. I mean,
Monk hit seven threes, Meeks Reeves did, but we haven't
had too many guys hit seven threes, and I don't
think we've ever had two hit them in one game.
We had two do it last night. They shot sixty

(37:56):
five percent from three. I watched the entire second half.
That Georgia Moore, you know she now like she those
first few games, took her a little bit to get ready,
but she dominated that game. Shortest girl in the car,
But we have a very tall team. Like if you
watched our team, all the women are very tall, and
then the shortest one is just going around like she's impressive.

Speaker 6 (38:20):
Yeah, she was awesome, and Dejah Lawrence was awesome. They
combined for fifty five points. Dasia was hot at first.
She was the one we were kind of watching chasing history.
I was watching the whole game. She was seven for
eight at one point, and then we're talking about her
being one a way that Aymore makes a bunch of
the second half to catch up with her, and they
both end up with seven, one shy of the record
of eight, and then they get the team record. But
I mean, Kentucky, that was just so fun to watch.

(38:42):
Mississippi State had a little bit of a run in
the third quarter, but then Georgia shot him out of
it again.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Kentucky women are like thirteen in one, and you know,
I mean they're good. Kenny Brooks, They're gonna be like
he's gonna be really good here, like really good.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
This is another example. This might be the worst team
he yes here, and yet they're still you know, top fifteen.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
They may and probably will have a better record than
the men's team. And the men only have two losses
right now. The women have one loss.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Now they probably will have a better Yeah, you're right,
who's up next? Let's go to Joe, Joe, go ahead, Joe, Hey, y'all,
I'm calling it now.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
The Cats come out hot tomorrow and otega Oway puts
his knee in that eight foot tall guy's face.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Go cat.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
Well, he's red shirting, so it'll be hard for them
to do it. Who do you think has to have
a big game for us tomorrow? Besides the obvious you
know Lamont Butler plays well. Is there's somebody you think
has to step.

Speaker 6 (39:33):
Up well, I will give another one, but the Butler
Walter Clayton match up at point guard is actually gonna
be very exciting and could determine the game.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
So he will need to play well. But I still
want to.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
See more aggression from Andrew Carr. He was great in
the first half against Brown when Kentucky couldn't score, had
fourteen points, finally shot a three and made it. I
would like to see him continue to play better and
better each game.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
They're gonna be good on the glass, so I think
our bigs have to have to play well. The Walter
Clayton Lamont Butler, though, that'll decide the game. Who wins
that that battle, because that's gonna be a heck of battle.
Two of the three or four best point guards in
the league.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
I'm really looking forward to that. But you said, well,
my key area was gonna be They've got two seven footers,
Condon and Hangleton, the dude the transferred from Marshall. Yes,
they're both really good athletically, I mean, and then the offensively,
So that's gonna give Amaro Williams and our bigs a problem.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
I think they're a good offensive rebounding team, very good.
Rebounded half of their missus in the first half a
week ago, so that needs to improve.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
I last night, I don't know if any of you
all did it. I turned on Washington was playing basketball.
It was late at night and I turned it on.
First of all, Washington being in the Big Ten throws
me off because they're playing a conference game against Maryland.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Which is crazy.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
But Great Osibor, okay, that was the dude. If you
remember who almost came here. He is being paid more
than any college basketball player in the country this year.
Great Osibor. I watched him play. He was good, but
in watching him, I have no idea how he would
have played here. Like he's not in shape, he's he's

(41:05):
a big load. He's like the ball has to go
through him. He reminds me of Oscar quite honestly, I drew.
I don't know how he would have played in this system.
I mean, he's as he's talented, he got big buckets
for him, but he is like two hundred.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
And eighty pounds in just a big load.

Speaker 6 (41:23):
And there was a point that almost seemed like a lock.
There was a lot of talk of him being here
because he's known to Mario Williams as there were kids
in England that it seems like we're gonna get a
Williams Ussabar, a package deal to start the Pope Ara
and he goes money pulled him away. I haven't watched
a full game, but just keeping up with stats and
seeing a little bit of clips.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
He's just he but he seemed like a He's very good,
but he just doesn't seem like the kind of dude
that would play for Mark Pope.

Speaker 6 (41:46):
He doesn't seem like he should command as much as
he got. I mean, he got a lot of money
coming out of YouTube.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
He gets the ball and he just pounds it, throws
himself into the guy and then but but he finishes
a lot, so it works out.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
Yeah, Pope likes his bigs if we've seen it, you know,
try to help direct the offense, step outside the fifteen
foot and you know, make good passes.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Would have been interesting though, because he would have probably
played Williams would have been in a backup, probably wouldn't
have gotten Garrison, so it would have been interesting to
see how that played out. Eight five, nine two, eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. We're here at kas Bar
and Grel gonna talk about some football. Kentucky actually got
some national praise yesterday.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
We'll tell you what it was. Right after this
