Welcome to Hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio, present it
by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
We're sitting here. I wanted you to do you did
with the college kids. I want you to do it
with UK fans tonight at the game. All right, same
set of people, but like, take widely different ages. You
see what I'm saying, Take widely different ages and let's
see what it comes up with. At the game. We'll

(01:27):
also see how many people listen to show, because if
they listen to this show, they should be able to
get it. So probably if you get people who if
you do the video, if somebody's listened to the show,
will know. But there'll be a lot of people at
the game we don't listen to the show, and I'd
like to see what the different because here's what's my
prediction is going to happen. At the game. Gil Chris
will have at least some people who know it, although not.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Everyone, not everybody will.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
I think more people will know Bashir at the game
because they're older. Fewer people will know Portnoy. Correct, everybody's
gonna know Pope. Obviously, almost everybody will know Patino. There
might be a younger fan you meet who doesn't know Patino,
but I think the Portnoy Basher Gilchrist stuff will flip
we'll flip, will flip because like my mom wouldn't know

(02:10):
who who Portnoy is. I was just saying, do Alex Cooper.
You two wouldn't know who that. I don't know who
that is, but you do, of course I do. Every
woman though under thirty would know. Every woman under thirty
would know Alex Cooper. But you two have no idea
who that is.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
The old guy and the young guy. We don't know
who she is.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
That's like the female Portnoy. Oh, okay, right, barstool she
used to Now she does her own thing. Okay, but
all right eight five nine two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven. I want to get back to phone because
I got a lot of people on Ryan. You have
a lot of support on the baby thing. I mean,
it's still more people saying you're wrong than right, but
you probably have forty percent of people that agree with you.

(02:48):
There are people, though, saying Ryan's wrong, we shouldn't we
should ban babies. But he's right that taking a baby
to a game is a miserable experience. Agreed.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And if we're gonna do it, I think the lat
see the lap ticket is the way to go.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
It is. Yeah, apparently a lot of the Reds rule
is three has to buy their own ticket for the rents.
They're just trying to get people there. Maybe, Although I
think we're gonna win the division this year.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
We liked Ryan said absolutely not the two year olds.
But he took three year olds, so we know he's lying, right.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
How are you laughing, Shannon? We're good. We're good. We've
got Terry Francona, now, Ellie, Matt McClain's healthy, got great rotation,
we got like seven eight starting pitchers. I'm gonna be
watching spring training games this year. Ellie said, at the
end of the year, I want to be the best
player in baseball. And so like Ellie Ellie's listen, you

(03:44):
could hear me talk a lot about Ellie.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
So y'all just need to get rid of l gets
tenant bats over a game.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Now watch him get hurt in spring training. But this
could be my This could be my summer of Ellie.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well, I like McLain. I thought he's good, but he
was out all that I know. I thought coming up
he was gonna be the net superstar.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I talk about Kansas real quick of Bill self. Kansas
lost by thirty four points last night. To be yug
on the road thirty four points. It's the third largest
loss in the history of Kansas basketball and the lost
largest loss since like nineteen seventy when the game was over.
Remember remember don't forget that. Bill self last year said

(04:21):
the turn team basically quit at the end of the
year because they knew they couldn't make the NCAA turn
or win the NCAA turn. You remember that. Yeah, he
basically said, we were just over. He's asked about the
team and he was like, yeah, we're just not very good.
And then he said, I thought this trip would make
us bond, but now we need to get all away
from each other. That's not what you want to hear

(04:43):
seriously acknowledge with six games left in the regular season
that his team hates each other. He was like, we
need to get away from each other for a few days. Now.
They play on Saturday, so I don't know how much
away they can get. But how about that after a
year and then the look, he won a title two
years ago, so it's not like he's, you know, a disaster,

(05:03):
but he basically says like after last year, saying, we
stopped being caring because we knew we couldn't win a title.
Now he says, we got to get away to each other.
We don't even like each Yeah, they're a mess.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
And part of that has been as Kentucky's been losing lately,
Like the other night when Weston Texas, you flip over
and Kansas is just getting destroyed by Utah, who's got
a guy with hair down to his back just schooling everybody. Also,
it kind of you know, we want a Hunter Dickinson
pretty bad. The Hunter Dickinson experience has not gone well
for two years.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Again, is he is as much an example of a
guy you cannot win with as any player in America. Like,
he's good, but you can't win with, right, You just
can't wait. He makes your team worse, which is crazy
if you think about it, because he's so good, but
it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
You think, yeah, he'd be a great addition to your team,
But it seems like it has been the other way.
It's been a deterrent on the team.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yeah, I mean they've gotten significantly worse since he transferred there.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
They still play two top ten teams and another top
twenty team in the year. They can have like thirteen
regular season losses. The tournament, but close. But I'll tell
you who might not make the tournament. Yukon, Yeah, there's
a world they might miss the tournament. There's a world
Gonzaga might miss the tournament. They still play some good teams.

(06:14):
A team that we has is one of our signature withins.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, so some powers not necessarily showing up this year.
Curly is lucky.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
They won last night, that could have been two in
a row. And up next they go at Saint John's.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Imagine them on a losing street going to see Rick
this weekend in North Carolina might not You might have
a year. I think Kansas makes it, but there is
still a world where North Carolina, Kansas, Yukon, and Gonzaga
are all like not certain to make the tournament.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Which is crazy. Can they get just won two street titles?
North Carolina was in the championship game, Kansas just won
two years ago, three years ago. So I mean it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
My mom thought, I asked you, Alice Cooper, Alice Cooper,
there's a lot of people, Yeah, but we wouldn't. But
there's a lot of young people.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Wouldn't you people maybe not my generation, definitely.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
No, who do you think we've talked about this before,
and then we'll go the phones. Who do you think,
outside of Trump and Obama, is the most known person
in the United States? Trump and Obama are one and two.
I must say by picture, by picture, not name Snoop Dogg,
Taylor Swift. I'm gonna say Taylor Swift. Yeah, I think

(07:26):
Snoop's up there. Who's the most famous non musician by picture?
Because I think a lot of the most famous are
gonna be musicians. Probably Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift and Snoop
are a good one too. Actually, I'm sure there are
other ones that pop up there.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I think there were a time you could say Jordan
and a time maybe you could say Tiger Woods.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I'd say I wouldn't say either of them. Now. Is Lebron?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Probably Lebron?

Speaker 4 (07:50):
It's Steph maybe those two Lebron and Steph Patrick mahomes.
All right, what about non singer, non athlete? I'm going
sticking entertainment, going to an actor, actor or like an
influencer type who's like everybody, because who's the person like

(08:11):
I know that person?

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Oh man, because so generational, like younger generation they all
know mister beast. But people my aid may not have
the idea who.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Mister, I don't know that I would recognize him just
by face. That's a good question. Seven seven two seven
seven four. I think just my picture Trump would be one.
I think Obama would be too, but it could be
like Paylor Swift. I mean there's young people, there are
people out there who Obama's not been president since twenty sixteen.

(08:46):
Joe Biden. No, but what he wasn't famous to them?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Would you put is is Elon close to getting close
to them a lot?

Speaker 4 (08:54):
But there's you know, if you're not if you don't
follow the news, you could not know who he is.
See let's go to uh Bob and Jamestown Defender, Hello
Bob and Jamestown Defender.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
Hello.

Speaker 8 (09:10):
And I think he should put him on soon after.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
But that's not well we'll see. I didn't ask you
to program the show, but go ahead.

Speaker 8 (09:19):
I think he picked the wrong guy on the twenty
twelve team, Michael give grew christ I'm the same age
as him, and I was following the team very well.
I don't remember seeing him.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Well, who else would I picked? Everybody knows Anthony Davis.
I mean, who else am I gonna pick from that? Team.
There's nobody on that team besides an Deron Lamb. There's
no way kids would know who to run.

Speaker 8 (09:40):
He's more distinguished. I'd say he's more distinguished, had a
better personality.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I feel like the MK better personality. MKG was had
the biggest Do people forget MKG, like you say you're
his age. He had the biggest personality on the team.
His smile, he lit up a room. I mean he
was a that he was a much bigger star than
Deron I mean Drew like Doran because he had his

(10:06):
used mattress. But otherwise personal reasons, it was MKG, right, maybe.

Speaker 8 (10:12):
More distinguished looking. I just think that he just kind
of I mean Anthony Davis definitely, Derawn looks hasn't looked.
I think there's a lot of different people that you
could pick other thang not off that.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Team, I mean not off that that I appreciate CA.
I mean, of course Anthony Davis, but he's still playing.
So it's that's not a lot of people know him
because he's on the or was on the Lakers, you know,
and won a title. That's a little different.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Starting to get a little aggravated fan base. You can't
be forgetting Michael kid Gilchrist.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Do kids know who Oprah is? Because there's anyone twenty
five and older knows Oprah. Do kids know who Oprah is? Okay,
Mario thinks Oprah is a good one. Oprah's a good
one because like a lot of Yeah, maybe.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I think she's definitely probably in our top five.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
We did this ten years ago. She's number two, there's
no doubt, right number one. I think there's a lot
of people would know her now is still out there.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
A long long time. Yeah, I don't know. Let's go
to fine, Bob and James. Go ahead, go ahead, Bob.

Speaker 7 (11:23):
Matt Lake is fifteen feet below my property. I'm getting
scared anyway, Monica, in.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
All seriousns, I hope that turns out. Okay, it's obviously
people are still dealing with it, and with this snow,
it's a tough situation.

Speaker 7 (11:39):
I know, Monica Winsky remember her, she was on Today
Show today. She looks fabulous. I mean, these people in
college today they wouldn't know who she went. But anyway,
she's back and she looked better than ever. And Hal
McCoy the Sports Rider says the Reds are could be

(12:04):
say Nates and pray Ellie's back and goodyear Arizona, Sonny.
They're getting ready to play some.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Right, and then I mean again, this is the thing
about going to him. He's to be just a Shannon.
He talks about Botica Lewinsky being hot like that's what
he does. That What doesn't matter what the topic at hand.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
Is, He's gonna just say.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
He's just gonna say what he's gonna say.

Speaker 6 (12:32):
Where let me say, she does look pretty good.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Let's pull it up to your puff. You can't you
see that? Oh she does look good? Good for her?
She I have I feel bad for her. I mean it, like,
how old was she when that happened? Nineteen twenty? Like
the president is interested in you. It shouldn't like ruin
the rest of your life.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
I'm rawing a blank. What was the lady's name that
turned her in?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Uh? Linda Tripp?

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yes, that's it, good pool Linda. Yeah, Yeah, that she
was rude.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Linda Tripp? Should not she because she didn't like Monica
told her in confidence, trusted her as a friend. Yeah,
Now that I was saying when when I was a kid,
when I was in college, like nobody cared about politics
except that story. Yes, I remember when the Star report
came out, my whole college printed it out and was
reading it because it was pretty salacious stuff. Now it

(13:30):
probably wouldn't even nobody didn't even care. Back then. That
was now we would just assume. But like back then, Ben,
go ahead.

Speaker 9 (13:39):
Ben, Hey, I'm just calling say, Ryan, what the heck? Man,
You're supposed to be the family guy. You're supposed to
take us for us dads. I mean, I've got a
I've got a ten week old baby, and my wife
and I probably were playing on going to the game
tonight and her ticket for our week old.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Hang on, tell tell him telling me you can't go.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Here's here's my advice.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
No, no, not advice. You're setting the rules. You are
the new mayor.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
It is okay to go and just be husband and wife.
You don't always have to be mom and dad. Get
a babysitter for that kid and joying.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
School night.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
They got a neighbor, they got a friend, they got
somebody at church, they've got somebody, have a date, and
enjoy just being husband one week old. Yeah, that's why
you don't want to take that baby.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Do you watch their ten week old?

Speaker 2 (14:30):
No, I'm busy.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Did you have a response being everybody.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
Everybody wants to criticize parents and say that their retire
life or their world revolves around their baby. But when
parents try to live normal lives and take their baby
along with them, Look, my ten week old is probably
gonna be a lot less disruptive than a three year old.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
I agree. I agree with that, l I agree with
that a ten week old is a lot less likely
to whine like a little child than a little child is.
And I am I am now. I appreciate the call.
I'm now the family person on this show. Ryan lost it.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
I lost the lost the time.

Sports Radio. Who's this? It's like a baby song?

Speaker 6 (16:03):
This Lone Star, Lone Star.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
It's about children, right.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
It's mister mom. Yeah, did you not like Lone Star
in the nineties?

Speaker 8 (16:10):
Was that?

Speaker 10 (16:10):
No?

Speaker 4 (16:10):
One of yours? I like that one song? And no
news is that them?

Speaker 6 (16:15):
I think that is?

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah. The woman on the bus was really attractive, you
know I'm talking about in the video video. It's a
long time. I don't remember. I might look at it
now and think differently, but I just remember. Yeah. I
mean there are just certain women from your childhood, right,
like you remember like her the the Aerosmith videos, right,

(16:39):
Alicia Silverstone and then what was that Stephen Tyler's daughter,
which I always thought that was weird that he put
his daughter in the video. Did you think that was
weird a little bit. It's a little bit weird when
you're like, the the thing is how hot the woman
is and you make it your daughter in the video.
That's strange.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
How about Pamela, It's strang Pamela.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Anderson, Yeah, she was. I was a little young. I
was a little young.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
What do you mean you're too young?

Speaker 4 (17:02):
No, Baywatch is like not mid early mid nineties like
I was. I was talking about. I was like video though,
Oh I don't remember that. What music video? Sheh?

Speaker 6 (17:13):
The band Lit Miserable.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Uh see, I don't remember that. Okay. Uh just thinking
about videos. The Alicious Silverstone Ones was the one from
my generation. Don't you think remember that? Remember that one? Yeah?
That was the one. What was the video? Crazy? Yep?

Speaker 2 (17:29):
I don't know if there was one. I can't remember.
We've talked about it before where the girl had on
a red white.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
So you can't do it. He can't. He can't keep
it subtle. He just can't, you know what I've seen
Shannon like like you and I are talking about it
kind of above ground, and then he comes in and
he's like he's talking about little textas I know, that's
what he's talking about. Before the conversation even came up,
I knew the video. Yeah, I didn't go to him, Shannon,
because I knew he was going to bring up the

(17:57):
little Texas video. I knew he was because he does
it every time, and I was like, I don't need that.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
At least he hasn't brought up Jana Jackson yet.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Don't go next, Yeah, before I go to Sean real
quick Drew, NASA. I don't know if you're keeping up
with this. Oh. Yes, every day NASA gives the new
percentage chance that an asteroid is going to hit the
Earth in twenty thirty two. I'm all for NASA. But

(18:28):
what I don't understand is it's going up substantially every day.
So like last week it was like one point six,
I think it's two point four a week. Agout be
keeping it's three point one, and they're going to give
another update today and it just keeps going up, and
they say, well, three point one doesn't sound like a
lot but it's like a one and a thirty three chance.

Speaker 6 (18:50):
Three percent chance of winning the lottery. I'd take it.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Exactly one and a thirty three percent chance that an
asteroid hits the Earth and the asteroid. It's not apparently
big enough that it would like wipe out humanity, but
it would wipe out a city the size of New York.
Now they don't know where it's gonna hit. They said
it would be more likely to hit one of the
large cities in Asia. But still, like, let's say it

(19:13):
hit a city in Asia with twenty five million people.
That's obscene death, and it would cause all kinds of
other things, including typhoons and hurricanes that would affect the
entire world. I feel like this isn't getting enough coverage.
Twenty thirty two is not that long, eight years, right,

(19:33):
three percent chance not huge, but it's gone up one
percent since last week, so clearly like things are spiraling here.
Does that enter your radar at all? I've been tracking it.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
I mean, I'm not looking up at the skytracking it,
but the percentages and in most things, you know, three
percent it's like a slum chance, not gonna sweat that.
But an asteroid hitting your three percent is way too
high for me.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
It's only twelve percent higher or lower than what our
chances were to lose at Texas when we were up
five and don't.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
Got Saint Peter's. It is even lower than the Oh.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Yeah, but it is lower than Saint Peter's.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Don't think it can't happen. I mean, hello, Middlesborough, Kentucky,
it happens.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Yeah, Well that was a crater. But like this is
so the I mean, this is a huge thing. I
heard a guy on TV say, if it's coming, there's
very little we can do about it. That we will
not have the ability to shoot it down. And as
a matter of fact, with our weapons, even if we
shot it, we might make it worse because it would

(20:33):
split into a lot of pieces and maybe hit even
more parts of the world.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
So we've got to sit there. We're a sitting duck
waiting on it to hit. Yeah, maybe that's a little
scary a little bit.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
I wondered if it like narrowly misses us, if we
just look up, well we just see it go by.
Probably we just step and be like whoa clo.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
So I don't know, just something to watch. We got
eight years. I mean, I don't know. I'm not saying
you need to like worry about it every minute, but
like I feel like three percent a decent a decent size.
They say it's the largest percent chance of something hitting
like this in one hundred and fifty years.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Wow, makes you want to take notice. So especially if
the percentage chances keep going up, How does.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
It go up so quick? It's just been a week.
What is it?

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Seventy seventy one percent of the world is water, so
there's a good chance it's going to go there.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
But that's even worse. That'll cause massive tsunamis and like like,
if it hits, it will do massive.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Damage all the shorelines where yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Yeah, wherever it hits. Let's go to Sean. What's up, Seawan?

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (21:36):
I called in to agree with Ryan, but I don't
know if you realize you just made your show have
a theme. You tied in Asteroids, Armageddon, the movie, Aerosmith,
and liv Tyler all in the last few minutes.

Speaker 7 (21:49):
I agree with.

Speaker 11 (21:50):
The reason I agree with Ryan has nothing to do
about the fan experience. It's all about the health of
your baby. You're gonna talk about taking a kid to
a ball game. It's gonna be about thirteen degrees tonight.
Tip off, You're gonna have twenty thousand people probably down
there with god knows what kind of germs. If you

(22:12):
got a small child. You just leave him at home
because it's healthier for them. I did have a question
you all talked about Byu BYU in Kansas, that kid
that didn't come with Mark Pope here? Uh is he
doing anything out at BYU?

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Was that Saunders? Is that the kid we wanted?

Speaker 11 (22:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (22:32):
I saw them playing last night. I don't know what
kind of year he's had. I appreciate the call. I
think he's been decent, but I haven't heard like him
being great. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
I mean I'm not sitting around watching BYU. I can
b s if you want, but the.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Same record we do, but playing in an easier conference.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
He scored a lot for him last night. But as
far as what he's doing.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yeah, I didn't notice him out there, and I think
we did want him and he ended up he ended
up stare.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
I just pulled up his stats. He's getting fifteen points
a game this year. We could have used him, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
we could have used him. That would have been I mean,
we could have used anybody with the injuries we've had.
I mean it would have been. I mean Pope did
have twelve scholarship players, but have been nice. Probably if
we had one more, been nice to have had it.
But I should have had four point guards, not three.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
That's right. Eight. If I'm nine two aight oh twenty
two eighty seven, we'll be right back. KSR. TJ. Smith,
personal injury attorney called TJ.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
He'll make them pay now.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 6 (23:28):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Welcome, Mac Turkey Sports Radio text machine seven seven two
seven seven four five two five four One person right, Matt,
I knew the moment you did that that Ryan would
bring up the God Blessed Texas video. As a matter
of fact, if there was someone next to me, I
would have bet on it at that moment. He said
it so much, I knew that was.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Gonna Janet Jackson was coming out of my mouth next.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Yeah, don't know. Eightf I'm nine two eight oh twenty
two eighty seven. One person rights, Matt, would you dislike
Elon less if he saved us from the asteroid? Well,
whether he does or not, he'll say he does. Like
the Elon stands are even crazier to me than the
Trump stands. Like the Trump stands at least, like it's

(24:10):
like political and people have lost their minds about politics,
So I just I just get that. But the Elon
stands like, when in human history have people been so
obsessed over the richest person in the world, Like I'm
supposed to not like question, go look at history. When
has it ever been good to put the richest person
in the world in charge of things? Has that ever

(24:32):
turned out well? Ever? I can't think of a time
like the idea that America like people just worship the richest,
Like I liked when Warren Buffett was the richest person.
He didn't do anything. You didn't even barely know what
he looked like. Yeah, right, that's what the richest people
should depart. You can be the richest, but y'all also
shouldn't be in charge. Those should be two separate things.
The richest and the most powerful should be two different people.

(24:55):
I'm gonna take that view. So no Elon. Elon scares
me a lot more than Trump because Trump at least
wants to be liked. Elon just seems to just be
like whatever. Plus I mean, like, when was it okay
to start wearing a hat in the Oval office?

Speaker 9 (25:12):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Was he wearing a hat?

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Yeah? Like I love wearing hats, but I didn't like
to be respectful. I was always with the view like
you took your hat off when you went into my
man had his kid crawling on his head with a
hat on. It's like, whoa, things have changed.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
I just feel like we've forgotten that every superhero movie
has a billionaire that decides they want to control the world,
and then we need a superhero stop them out.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
I feel like we've we've forgotten most nineties movies about
billionaires in charge of the world never works out. I've
seen it in a zillion movies. Have you ever heard
of a billionaire who's like, you know what, this dude,
he cares about it? When has that ever happened?

Speaker 5 (25:50):
And then a lot of them they build robots so
and then we can't find the robots.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
I feel like we're not far from the robots killing.
We're walking right into it. Guys. What's gonna happen is
the robots are gonna stop the asteroids and then just
murder Mario. Oh no, which is not nice. And Billy
will be taking the picture of it when it happens,
and he'll put it right He'll he'll put it right up.
Two things first, KSR KSPR trivia mine with me hosting

(26:17):
is gonna be tomorrow night. I would tell you to
call and make reservations, but our phone lines aren't working
because of the snow. Hopefully they'll be working by this afternoon,
but call and make reservations. Tell your friends you can
be a finalist for the final prize all that second.
If you're not going to the game tonight, send me
the ticket. I gave away thirty four tickets for that
game the other night in the snow. Was that Tennessee?

(26:38):
I think it was. Yeah, I've already got a few.
Send them to Matt dot Jones at Kentucky Sports Radio
dot com and I will get them to people who
will be there and who will make noise. And also
we try to give a lot of them to people
who don't get to go. So I think I've already
got like six or eight to give away. If you
write me and ask me for them, what's gonna happen, Drew.

(27:00):
You're gonna get blocked. You're gonna get not get any
of them, And you can't be like, hey, just wanted
to check and see if there's still Like the answer
is always know there's not gonna be any story you
can tell me, because I can't set that precedent, right,
So you can't say to me like, oh my kid
is I mean, I'm sorry. I like you. I'm sure
your kids a wonderful person. I'm not setting the precedent
that like.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Ryan doesn't when your kid there anyway, So Ryan's about
your kids exactly.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
If you write about your kid, Ryan's gonna be banning
your kid from walking in anywhere. So just but when
I do put out the things saying if you want tickets,
that's when you write. And and we gave a bunch
away last time, and I will today if people have
them to give. I watched the first episode of The
White Lotus.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Yes, I can't wait to discuss it with you guys.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
This isn't really a spoiler alert because nothing huge has
happened except there's a body. But there's always a body, Yeah, right,
there's always a body. I think it's really good. There
are two things I really like about it. First of all,
I love Uncle Baby Billy, and he's in it.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
He's kind of a jerk, though he's.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Kind of a jerk in yeah, I mean he's kind
of a jerk. If you seem justified he's kind of
a jerk in that that's what Walden Goggins is, right,
But just having him there is great. I love that
his girlfriend, the one woman came up and said, love
your teeth.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, you can't stop staring at her teeth.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
But they kind of work for I think oddly. And
then the fact that there's a couple there from Durham,
North Carolina and they fight over Duke North Carolina is
kind of awesome. And as someone who went to college
or went to law school in Durham, North Carolina, their voices,
that is what people sound like there. I see a
lot of people complaining about their accents. The accent in

(28:39):
North Carolina is different in that part of North Carolina.
It's like a different sort of drawl. North and South
Carolina have a different voice, you know what I mean,
Like it's a different voice. And the families and the
kid that plays a kid that went to Duke, that
is exactly how they are at Duke. You want to
know how obnoxious he is. That is how obnoxious they

(29:01):
are Duke reppy boys, that privileged Duke frat guy to
the max. They couldn't have cast it better. And you
know who that actor is well you Arnold Schwarzeneger's kid.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Wow, he's good. He's good at.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Because he's a jerk on there. So highly recommend episode one.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
You liked it, I can't wait for the next one
to come out.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
Very good. Let's go to Corey. What's up? Corey?

Speaker 7 (29:27):
Hey man?

Speaker 10 (29:27):
First time? Long time?

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Who are.

Speaker 7 (29:31):
Uh so?

Speaker 10 (29:31):
Kind of piggy back and off of you said we
should bring the walk on the fight Vanderbilt tonight.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
Let's do it.

Speaker 10 (29:42):
So. I grew up in East Kentucky and Larry Stamford
played for Coach Repp back in the flight sixties early seventies,
and he told us a story that he, uh, Coach Rep.
We were oddly enough playing Vanderbilt and they had a
big boy that was just eating our lunch right, So
coach Coach Repp looked at him and said, hey, I
want you to go and get him thrown out of
the game. So he comes up and gives him a

(30:04):
good elbow to the chest and Larry gets thrown out
and the Vanderbilt boy gets a technical But to keep
the persona going toe, Trump had to pretend like he
was chewing him out. So he comes over and says,
what have I always taught to you, he said, I
told you lead with your left, not your right, and
sit him to the locker room.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
I like it. Listen, sometimes you gotta get that dude
thrown out. I appreciate the call. I don't know how
many times that's happened in history. You know they we
thought they would throw out. Was it Rashid Wallace when
Andre Riddick fought him and they just gave him both technicals.
I've always thought Patino got Ridick to get in that
fight so they both would get thrown out because Rashid
Bomas was too good.

Speaker 5 (30:39):
Yeah, and with the Larry Stamper was before my time.
But that's all I know about him is people talk
about how he would go in and fight when they
needed it. I don't think that's the only situation where
he threw a punch.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
We had that with lance Ware. Lance Ware was a
little bit of that.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Can go in and get that Russ staring there and fight.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Yep, lance did that.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
He's the last guy we've had.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
Well, we also had and Bradshaw who kissed the guy
in that fight before.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
He's got the difference different technbody's got a different technique.
Jay Rock what's up, Jay Rock?

Speaker 8 (31:09):
I ain't what's going out, y'all.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
It's been a while.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
First off, I'm down here in Pikeville. You know, I
live in the sixth o six now, and just keep
praying for us down here.

Speaker 11 (31:17):
I'm helping clean up, uh, and prayers for my homie
Mike Evans or so has to live.

Speaker 7 (31:22):
In West Virginia. But uh, I got a couple of
things in defense of.

Speaker 12 (31:27):
Bob in Jamestown.

Speaker 11 (31:30):
I was watching Gilligan's Island a couple of nights ago, and.

Speaker 7 (31:33):
Man, love you hell, she looks good.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
I holler, that's really funny. It is looking like the
Pikeville area. It's where it's really it's really hit.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
There were reports that I didn't really even know. They
had a flood floodgate in Pikeville and they had to
close it.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Oh, they had to shut it.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
That's what I saw some reports.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
I can see why they would have it, because the
downtown is kind of set under a little everything else,
so I could see that. Yeah, well awful. And apparently
the detells now at like sixteen. You know, the rest
of the country. Let me say this, the rest of
the country could learn something from how Kentucky handles these disasters.

(32:17):
You know, I want to give some credit to I
saw the floor speeches from the Senate yesterday, and the
Senate is like eighty five percent Republican. And Robert Steivers,
who I think leads the Senate and who I've feuded
with that various things over the year but also worked with,
he got up there and said, I just want to
commend the governor and our response team. We're really good

(32:39):
at this, and they're really good at this, and they
deserve credit. And then Basher said something similar about the Senate,
sending like, that's what should happen in these situations, is
not people talking about how bad people are. Like I was, like,
that is a really it used to be how it
was right in this time. Watching people come together this

(33:00):
day does that well, and it really has the last
few years, because we've been hit with way more than
we deserve. And so kudos to both those guys, but
especially to Stivers. That was big of him to do. Jackie,
go ahead, Jackie, first time, long time? Who are what's up?

Speaker 12 (33:17):
So I've taught little kids early childhood teacher for over
thirty years, and this is I kind of agree and
disagree with Ryan, But the fact of the matter is,
if you take a baby into that germ infested Petri dish,
that first out of the collar was right. But you
also have to consider their ears. You've got to put
earmuss on these kids. They can't go in there and

(33:41):
with the roar of the crowd. I'm not a pediatrician,
but I can assure you it's damaging to their ears.
And the other thing is I would say maybe up
to three years old you could hold a kid on
your lap. Maybe the parents have got to use their
common sense. Their kid's going to be obnoxious and bother
people don't.

Speaker 13 (33:59):
Take them teacher.

Speaker 12 (34:00):
Their teacher will tell you how they'll behave in a
crap there you go.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Listen to this, Ryan, I appreciate the call getting some
whereas no one took up for Billy Ryan getting some
people taking up for him.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
I will say, going to every home game, I see
a lot of babies, and nine out of ten have
big old ear muff hedphone things on. So from what
I've seen, almost all of the parents are at least
looking out that.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
Did they do that louder than live Shannon to the
kids wear?

Speaker 3 (34:25):
But I think so I think from what I can remember,
I think they did have some sort of.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
I can't imagine bringing a child.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Louder than I don't like them in the pit. To
be fair, I just.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Why would you do that? That? That seems like I
can't think of a worse.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
Idea than I was wondering the same thing.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Yeah, you know, it may be February, but we still
have ways to go this winter season. Thankfully, our friends
at Cornbreadham can help you stay positive and cozy with
their line of premium gummies, oils, lotions, and more. I
went to their facility the other day. We're gonna be
doing a show from it. Yeah, it was fascinating watching
how they do it. Still everything like people like hand stuff.

(35:05):
It's really impressive. Jim Hignan, those guys, it's amazing. But
right now, all first time Cornbread Hip customers can get
thirty percent off their first order. Just head to cornbreadhimp
dot com and enter my code KSR at checkout. It's
cornbredhimp dot com code KSR thirty percent. It's cornbreadt hemp.
This is the good life. We will take a break
be back for our final segment. We got a kid

(35:26):
on here Jackson don't know what he's gonna say. And
then a guy named Slick it's KSR boy say you
didn't get that digit shanding.

Speaker 6 (35:38):
Oh yeah, I got you.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
That's true, and that's gonna sound even weird good on
the podcast Welcome Back, Take You Sports Radio. This segment
sponsored by Club Blue, the official NIL partner of the
University of Kentucky, offering subscription service that directly benefit UK
student athletes. They continue to have great benefit invitations in
game fan experiences, pregames. They've been doing a ton of stuff.

is the easiest way to do it. One person writes
on the text machine, Matt, uh, you know if Elon
was with the Democrats, you'd be for it. You're just

(36:23):
being hypocritical. I messed up. Helped me bout here where
am I supposed to put this thing?

Speaker 2 (36:30):
See what happened?

Speaker 4 (36:33):
I knocked my.

Speaker 9 (36:35):
No.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
I don't trust any rich people ever ever. You know
I don't like rich people. There's like one rich person
I know that I think I trust. I don't trust
rich people. Democrat Republicans don't trust yourself. Then that's a
different there's different. There's difference between rich and wealthy. I'm
talking like uber wealthy people. Don't trust them, any of them,

(36:56):
Zuckerberg Gates, I don't trust any of those people. You
should not give the richest people in the world direct
access to the government, people who have like the most
contracts of the government, giving them direct access. How do
people think that's a good idea? It's scary. Don't you think.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
I've already said it. We're walking right into it. I
need Batman and spider Man.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Pole are rich because they don't care about anything but money. Like,
are you kidding me? When have you known a rich
person who's like, if you really are a generous soul,
then they're gonna give their money away. And there are
rich people who do that. But when have you known
a ruber rich person who wants control of government for
the good of other people? You better know those people

(37:38):
pretty well.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Are we headed to a fallout between Elon and Trump?

Speaker 4 (37:42):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (37:42):
And if that happens, Yes, Elon has access to all
these Trump's Trump's more powerful because because the average person
loves Trump, they're they're still skeptical to you.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
In that battle, Trump went, I hope Elon to me
is the scariest dude in the world. He's not. He
I don't mean to get off on this, but like
he wants to be involved in all governments in the world.
He's trying to get involved in every elect Like all
of you folks that are worried about like a one
world government, how are you not worried about Elon? He's

(38:13):
the scariest person in the world to me outside of
like Putin. I'm serious, like that's this isn't political he
dudes like that, you know. I mean Germany's having an
election next week. He's getting involved in that. Does that
not scare you?

Speaker 5 (38:30):
I think we need hit him with the mean girls,
you don't even go here, like you're not from here. Well,
he is a citizen, but I mean, like we don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
You all must those people who are like please like
at least with Trump he's elected, right, like he can
be He'll true this dude, Well, I find him to
be the scariest person in the United States and in
the world, except outside maybe Putin because at least he
doesn't have nuclear weapons. I don't think.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
I don't like that all three of the big billionaires
are building underground layers right now.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
I don't like that all these billionaires who are Democrats
just overnight became Republican and got access to the government.
Does that not wear you? Sure?

Speaker 8 (39:11):
Like?

Speaker 4 (39:11):
What do they? They were all Democrats? So what do
they believe in? Being rich and rich? That's what they
believe in? Jackson, Go ahead, Jackson. Should they take a
two year old to the game, though they if they
buy a ticket? Hey, yeah, buy ticket? Jackson, go ahead.

Speaker 8 (39:25):
Okay.

Speaker 13 (39:26):
I have two points. My first point is I can't
believe that nobody recognized Michael could go Chris.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
Would you have recognized him? Jackson? You would have recognized hi,
wouldn't you?

Speaker 13 (39:36):
Okay about six months when we won, and I would
have recognized him.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
Good.

Speaker 13 (39:41):
Secondly, I have four younger siblings, and so it's really
hard for us to go to games, and so I
think that we should you should be able to buy
a lot seats, even if it is like ten or
twenty dollars, just because it's so difficult for us to
get all the kids to the game. That's just my
take on it.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
I understand. Well, thank you Jackson. I appreciate. See Jackson says,
you kids to know wait in our youth. Uh put
Mario on for just a second. Mario, would you have known?
Would you know a picture of Keith Bogans by picture
a picture? No, if he's not in New Jersey, I
wouldn't know. All right, So if he's not, let's now

(40:19):
doff though. You know what about Jodie meeks By picture? Yeah,
but that's because you've met him. No, he just has
a distinct look. Okay, I'm a basketball fan too, so
it's like, I mean, not knowing, you know, not knowing
Bogans that's top five leading scorer. And would you know
Kenny Walker about picture? I really know he's probably out

(40:40):
the door in Lexington, Like he's everywhere in Lexington at
any given point. All right, Draft Kings, Let's do our
pick of the night. Uh, let's take Kentucky. How much
to do it? What's the score?

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Uh? Spreads five and a half. I like Kentucky. That
that's pretty good. I'll say Kentucky covers, wins and covers alright.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
I like Kentucky to cover. I'm feeling good, but I
was also feeling good about text and look where.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
They got me. I didn't feel good about Texas. I
picked them, but I didn't feel good. I feel decent
about tonight. I think the crowd makes a difference. Even
we got I don't like the snow though. We got
to get everybody out there all the last Snow game,
we had a great crowd, that's true. So hopefully, uh,
hopefully that happens again. Shannon, what do you think?

Speaker 9 (41:17):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (41:18):
Yeah, Vandy's been struggling on the road road.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
I think it's going to be probably like an eight
point game, seventy eight to seventy, let's say, somewhere in there.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
But we have to win, have to. You cannot lose.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Can't drop this one.

Speaker 4 (41:32):
I cannot lose this one. If you win this one,
I think we're one win away from like the tournament
and then but more importantly, you have to win for seeding.
You have to win for momentum. We have to win
because we're losing Saturday at Alabama, so we have to
win tonight, right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
I think Vanderbilts beat US three of the last five.
I think it's something like that. They swept US two
years ago.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
Yeah, Cal lost in the tournament. Yeah to back. Yeah,
they also own us in football.

Speaker 5 (42:02):
Vanderbilt's kind of dad right now, for being honest, we
need to get back to beating Vandy.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
In sports already? Did it? Chane and I led the
segment off of wont you pay attention to the show?

Speaker 6 (42:10):
I got going on over here?

Speaker 4 (42:11):
What do you have going on? What do you give?
What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (42:15):
I'm good, I didn't hear you do it?

Speaker 4 (42:18):
That's okay, So all right. Pregame show is at four
point thirty today. We'll be at the bar. It opens
at three. If you have tickets that you want me
to give away. Matt dot Jones at Kentucky Sports Radio,
those of you that are going to the game, be loud,
make noise. This one in the LSU game. We have
to win. We cannot lose these games. Tonight is the

(42:39):
first of those. We'll see you on the pregame show.
