At ten forty nine am on the text machine which
is seven seven two seven four five two five for
one person rights all right, you're going into break when
we come back. That's gonna be when Ryan Lemon says,
that's what I wanted to hear from our coach and
nailed it, and then.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
It's what he said.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
See, the listeners know, Shannon, they know what Ryan Lemmy.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Likes to put himself on the squad like he's got
a jersey.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yes, yeah, right, does like to put himself on the squad.
He's definitely part of the part of the team in
his mind. Okay, let's talk a little basketball. I'm gonna
sit down here. The SEC Tournament starts tomorrow. We're gonna
be doing the show in Bowling Green, but from a
private location.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
That sounds that makes it sound a lot more like
a speake, is he like Ryan, It makes it.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Sound a lot more like dirty than it is. Just
gonna be somewhere where we're not gonna have a crowd.
Then Thursday will be at ten roof doors will open
a nine eastern. So well, actually, what time will the
doors open. I don't know because I'm not sure.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
We'll figure it out, but the doors will open at
some point and then Friday we'll see what happens. But
the SEC Tournament starts tomorrow. I'm very excited about it.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Drew. How are you feeling about Kentucky's chances. I'm feeling great.
Speaker 6 (02:23):
As I've mentioned a few times, my brain ninety percent
of every day for the last month has been thinking
about Nashville and the SEC Tournament. Feel even better about
Kentucky after going to and O last week and a
big win at Missouri. You know, I think playing on
Sundays probably unlikely, but I'm expecting to win a couple
of games and to have a great time and get
(02:43):
us even more fired up for the big tournament after that.
I just think Kentucky's in a good spot, even with
the injury to Jackson Robinson.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
What about you, right, I can make a big prediction
that there'll be if Kentucky wins on Thursday night, There'd
be a lot of hungover Big Blue Nation people Friday
morning because that late game. Finally win a game in
Nashville the first time twenty nineteen, that place will explode
Thursday night if they win a game.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I think just the crowd Thursday night's gonna be awesome.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I think that's gonna be I remember when in twenty ten,
Cal's first SEC tournament. What an amazing Kentucky fan base
showing we had for that, and how just crazy the
gym was in all the games. I don't know if
it's gonna be like that, but Drew, I think it's
gonna be close. I mean, I feel like, you know,
there's just there's been a sense from fans that the
(03:27):
SEC tournament just hasn't been the same in a number
of years, and I think they're ready for it. And
part of the reason is John cal Perry did an
interview yesterday once again with an Arkansas media group, where
he said, I don't care about the SEC tournament. I mean,
you talk about doubling and tripling down. He said, I
do not care about the SEC Tournament. The exact I
(03:49):
don't know what the exact quote was, but well, you know,
he was I don't care. And then I looked in
the comment section a lot of Arkansas fans were going, yeah,
I never thought of it like that, and I was like, well,
we had to get into it. Yeah, you know, he
was like this, it's only about seed. And then you
have Mark Pope, who goes, I do care. I want
(04:10):
us to go and try to win it.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
I love that Yeah, I do not miss Cal's comments
about the SEC Tournament. He was always the worst part
about him, Like, Okay, maybe you even maybe you believe that,
which I think is weird in itself. Maybe you tell
your team that, but to to say it to your
fans who you want to be there, who are paying
a lot of money. That city is outrageously expensive these days,
(04:33):
and a lot of people I'm sure from Arkansas are
excited to go for Cali Perry's first run. Like me,
they've probably been thinking about it for weeks. And to
have the coach just straight up come out and say,
looking at a camera, I don't even care about it,
I just think that's insane.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
And he lies.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
He says it like they're gonna win the national championship,
you know what I mean. Like, like, it's one thing
if you say in twenty twelve, if you're Kentucky, I
don't care about the SEC Tournament.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
C NCAA is what matters.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
You're gonna be an eleven seed, dude, Like you should
take every win you can get from I just think
that's crazy. But Mark Pope's the opposite. Mark Pope's like,
I want to go win, and I think that makes
it exciting.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
He said that from day one, right the minute he
got off the bus, he's talking about the SEC Tournament
and going down there to Nashville to win the SEC Tournament.
I'm sure like you guys, had a lot of people
say I'm going this year for the first time in
five six years. You know, I think people are excited
again about going to getting Nashville what it used to
be for the SEC Tournament.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Also, he's saying it doesn't matter. Yeah, it doesn't matter
on Sunday. Dude, you're playing on Wednesday. It should matter
to you.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
You should try to at least get to play the
first game of the tournament. I understand they're playing it
South care.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I mean, I love how he acts like they're like,
you're in the first game of the tournament, right, you're
playing the worst team in the SEC. Who Oh, by
the way, beat you by twenty earlier this year, you
might want to care a little bit.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
This isn't like that Sunday years ago where they were
good and then Texas A and M got a better
seed because they both played in the championship. Okay, that
doesn't matter, because the brackets made. We were playing at noon.
We don't even have time to get to your game.
That's your game, so you should care about.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I'm going to be in bowling Green and I can't
even get you might be out before I get there,
right like, and I get there early. So yeah, I
thought that was that was crazy. Now Kentucky, the Otaga
Away named second Team All SEC. Uh, nobody else made
the top three SEC teams.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
I kind of understand it.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
I'd like to have seen Amari get on there somewhere,
although when you look at the guys like you can
kind of understand how he didn't. And then All Defensive
Team Lamont Butler did not make it. I think he
would have if he had not been hurt so much.
But Otago Away being second Team All SEC was probably
not something we saw at the beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Nobody even had him in the team starting lineup. Last
summer we were talking about the roster. Yeah, that guy
has he's been. He's been our Lebron James, he's been
our go to guys. He what what there are two
games where he scored what the last eighteen kind of
Lebron James eight.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
You know, listen, I love you, mister.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Our team and Otega has been really good Lebron James.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
He's been our Lebron James. He scored twenty.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Do you think our Lebron James.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Our go to guy, our guy we need to get
us a bucket, win us a game. He's been that guy.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I don't think that's necessarily the definition of Lebron James.
But okay, Lebron away. Uh, great, great honor for that kid.
Speaker 7 (07:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
I was happy for always, as you all said, very unexpected.
Speaker 8 (07:36):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Just last fall when we were trying to think how
this could play on our heads, I was pretty bummed
from Mario. Though there's only like one big guy on
the three teams. I just feel like that guy deserved
a spot for some form of recognition. Put him on
the last team, put him somewhere, but I thought a
Mario deserved to be among them.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
How great the league? Oh yes, I mean you look
at that league and like that first team guys, he
couldn't really are you with any of it?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Ziegler? Maybe he was a little high, but you know
he plays well against everybody. It's not us.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
The old dudes on that first team too, four or
five of your players.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
You also exactly you see why having these older guys matters.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
So you know, it was a good reminder. It was
a good example of the what's new about about college basketball?
Now you look at the SEC Tournament, there's always gonna
be one team that gets to the semi finals that
you wouldn't think is gonna do it?
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Will it be US?
Speaker 6 (08:35):
I am not afraid of Alabama. I mean, one game
in time, we gotta beat Oklahoma, Georgia of the you
won Alabama. They play the same style. They won by
five in Roperna, and they hit two more threes. I
just think with Butler being available, you know, with Perry
in there in Tusclus, that's a different story. But with
Butler being healthy to try to guard Sears, I think
(08:55):
it'll just come down to who shoots better. When when
they won in Lexton, Grant Nelson was the story, but
Andrew Carr could barely walk. Andrew Carr played much better
when he got another chance. I think with Kentucky at
mostly full strength, can't do anything about Robinson. I think
it'll just come down to who shoots better.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
At that point.
Speaker 6 (09:09):
I like that better than going against the Florida or
an Auburn probably picked tennessee above Alabama. But I'm not
afraid of Alabama.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Alabama, No, because, like Drew said, Kentucky, even though they
lost the game at Rough, they played really really well
that day against Alabama, and we played well.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
For a half yeah at Alabama, and we had like
nobody in that game.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
I mean, we were playing like me and you in
that game.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
So Grant Nelson was the All American forum in that game.
I don't think rub Yeah, I don't think that's gonna
happen again. So you know, you contain him. You do
a better job in the perimeter. Yeah, they don't scare me.
If I have my choice of those four top four
seeds to play, I probably would have picked Alabama.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, yeah, I actually can see.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I mean, I could see Missouri beating Florida in that
other game right above us, and you could end up playing.
I have no idea what's going to happen. I think
I do agree with you, though, Ryan. We need to
win the first one. I think, just for our fan base,
we need to get a win in Nashville. You know,
I'd like I think, I think I who would you
rather play between Oklahoma and Georgia?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Do you care?
Speaker 6 (10:10):
Oklahoma's much better? Scoring team as we saw. But Georgia,
the way they play, I mean, they just fight, and
I worry about, you know, aggravating something with all our
guys that are dinged up. I don't want any part
of Georgia. I mean, they don't play dirty, but they're
about as close to as as physical and dirty as
a team is in the league.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
And Oklahoma probably would like to win that game against
Georgia to lock up their term.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah, I mean, they're kind.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Of like they're probably in but they probably you know,
they can't take a deep breath. But I think if
they beat Georgia, they'd be in pretty good check.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
I do wonder last time we saw Oklahoma, Brandon Garrison
wanted all the smoke and had to be separated.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
So I didn't wonder how much of that.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
Is lingering from that game a couple of weeks ago
in Oklahoma. But I think I still lean the Sooners,
but Kentucky better beat either one of them.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
When I go over again in Nashville, I have to
tell you I got into uh here, get your camera
over there?
Speaker 4 (11:02):
What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Mario? I never Mario chooses, like, why are you doing
close up pictures of Ryan limmit, like, what is that?
Speaker 4 (11:08):
Is that for ladies? And well, why why is it?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Why are you taking zoom shots of Ryan Lemon right now? Okay,
all right, So I did get one hundred in to
March Madness last night, Like last night was my Okay,
March Madness is here.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
You got it?
Speaker 4 (11:25):
So I.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Flew home, got home, saw the second half of Wafford
and firmed. Now, first of all, great, we've been to
that tournament final in Ashville before drew the Southern Conference tournament.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Final crowd wild.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
But the reason I loved it is it's so March madness.
Wafford had a dude, Shannon, who looked forty three years out.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
I know who you're talking about.
Speaker 9 (11:54):
He did.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
I mean, he had like a bald spot thinning hair
a little bit, and he shot underhanded free throws, okay,
underhanded free throws, granny shots, and he shoots thirty two.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Percent from the line.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
And by the way, I think he's their best player,
Like he was pretty good, but yet he shot thirty two.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Percent from the line.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
And what I love about that is that dude Shannon goes,
you know what, I can't shoot free throws and I'm
going to shoot them poorly and look ridiculous like you.
You would think, if you're gonna shoot granny shots, you
should at least get seventy percent.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
And I loved it.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
And then they won the game, which means he's gonna
be in March madness. That dude's gonna get attention next week.
Anytime you have like a forty three year old granny
shooter on the team. I fell for March madness. Shannon
last night watching.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Watford events like the YMCA Old Man's League going on
there with him, And.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Why about Dwight Perry. He's the head coach.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Okay, so let's talk about that White Perry, former Kentucky
player for those of you a little young, he's known
for he was Bobby Perry's cousin, and they tried to
start Bobby Perry in an NCAA tournament game and drew
and accidentally put Dwight's name in so he had to play.
They did the jump ball and then what he just
fouled somebody so that they could take him out. He's
(13:22):
the coach of Wafford and they make it and their
best player is from Panukah, right, really, yes, I think
he went to McCracken County. His name's like Softless or something.
But what an awesome story for Wafford. Dwight Perry.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
Yeah, that's a fun Kentucky basketball memory. I can remember
looking at the TV, like, why is Dwhite Perry in
our starting five in the first round the NSA Tournament
and the big guy you mentioned, I gotta call him
out on that head band. That headband's not there to
catch sweat, that's covering up a receding hairline. He is there, Lebron.
He's got the bald hair going back with the with
the headband that fits right on it. I mean, there's
(13:59):
so much alike about that guy.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
I love him. He looks like mister Belding. I love it.
And he shoots granny shots. Ryan, How can you not
be into March madness after you watch that?
Speaker 2 (14:09):
He's he's what He's a kream abdul Jabbar this year.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Yeah, that's what.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
He was good.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
He's a pretty he can't you free throws, but he's
otherwise pretty good.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
You know, you talk about that Dwight Perry incident.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
I was there.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
The dude gets announced, doesn't even have his name on
the back of his jersey and Kentucky's playing number one
seed Kansas. I love to lave up in Chicago. It
was it was kind of embarrassing that that was going on.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
It was kind of awesome. I forgot he didn't have
I forgot he didn't have his jersey. He didn't even
have a name on his jersey.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Number thirty thirty five five.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, but how about Dwight. Congrats to Dwight. Yes, like
former Kentucky. You know, we always talk about former Cats.
Who knows we may have another great coach out there
in Dwight Perry, So congratulations to him. Volunteers of America

(15:21):
That's right without us eight five, nine two eight twenty
two eighty seven Cats heading to Nashville. Uh, we're gonna
take calls, I guess in the next segment. So if
you want to come in eight five nine two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. What do you think about
the Mark Stoops interview? Or are you excited about the
trip to Nashville. We need to talk for a minute
(15:42):
though about high school basketball drama.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Yes, I love it all right, bringing on.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Well, high school sports drama, I guess. Let's so the
Girls Sweet sixteen starts tomorrow. We got if you're in town,
come on out to the bar and see everybody, and
before or after the games at Rupparena should be a
lot of fun. But let's talk about whatever happened in
Pulaski County.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Did you see this?
Speaker 2 (16:05):
I saw, I got a note about it.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Did you watch the video?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
You need to chanon if you watch the video, you
guys need to check my Twitter accounts the night before
the show. Just a little bit of advice for everyone
on the show, so that you're able to talk about
what happens, so that we don't keep doing this every episode.
Pulaski County was playing I think Southwestern. All right, and
they're playing in the game, and I guess one of
(16:29):
the teams is beaten the other one by thirty points
and then somebody on the team's grandma gets really angry.
In the video, we don't see what makes her angry,
but I think it's the referees. In the video you
can see online. She starts going crazy and in the
video it looks like she threatens to flash the audience a.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Couple of times.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
I love the grandma.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yeah, she looks like she's trying to threaten the like
flash the audience a couple of times. She starts pointing
at the reft. She starts jumping up and down. Then
some people in the audience seem to booor. She starts
yelling at the people in the audience. Then it looked
like her pants were about to fall down. I'm not
sure exactly what was going on. I posted the video
and then I had somebody right on Twitter. This was
(17:15):
their explanation of what happened as to why this grandma
was out yelling. Let me read it here. Sorry, she says.
This is a grandmother of one of Southwestern's players. She
went on and ran on Facebook about how Trump and
Elon needed to come to Pulaski County to investigate the
officials because they were Dei Hires. I love the idea
(17:41):
that the officials in Pulaski County are Dei Hires and
Trump and Elon should come and fix it. I love
the video. I love everything about it. I loved that
I got messages all night of people saying, you really
do need to investigate the officials for girls basketball in
Pulaski County.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
I'm gonna go ahead and take I'm not gonna do that.
What did you think of it?
Speaker 6 (18:03):
I mean, it's funny, but I feel like we've already
had way too many videos of adults acting like clowns
at high school games this postseason, and we haven't even
started the Sweet sixteen. I mean, there's been several incidents
in the district and regional tournaments. I've seen some in
other states. Why can't adults behave at games that are
for their kids in high school?
Speaker 3 (18:22):
You're down also, you're down thirty. You know, Shannon, when
you're down thirty, I don't think it's the rest fault.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. I think
when you're down thirty you're down thirty. I don't think
going and screaming at the officials is and calling them
dea Shannon is going to change much of the game.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
No, but I like Grandma's energy. I wish all of
our fans energy. She was ready to party.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
You like her, You like her acting like she's gonna flash.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
The crack almost came off, The bottom almost came off.
She could have been nude by the time she get
out of that arena.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
She That might have led to more legal problems.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
I don't know if you're supposed to be getting nude
at high school basketball game.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
The video is fantastic because you know she starts behind
the scores table and then the security guys come and
get They asked her escort her out, escort her out
along the baseline while the game is still going on,
and she takes that moment to like perform and do
her dance and drop down to her knees.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
It looks like other people get into it too. Yeahrue,
it looks like there's like a lot of people that
are upset. It's not people really to be down thirty.
What is happening in Pulaski County Like summerset chill di
ihiers man.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
We gotta do something about him.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
Never mind the shortage of officials there just trying to
get anyone.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Yeah, I mean, how much how much the high school
official make to do a game, to do a girl
nearly enough?
Speaker 4 (19:42):
How much do you think? Is it forty dollars?
Speaker 2 (19:43):
I'm gonna say fifty? Then I'm not. I'm not. I'm
just guessing.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
So does I mean, does this woman genuinely think that,
like people are lining up down the street to come
be flashed by her for a girl's basketball game?
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Like, does she really think that?
Speaker 6 (19:58):
Maybe she was just filling march and wanted some lingerie
on the deck there at Pulaski show a little skin.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
She had a different notion of what March madness was.
Speaker 6 (20:07):
Okayes seriously, though, that's someone's grandmother and they're on that court,
maybe finished in their high school career, and now a
radio show is talking about her grandmother trying to pull
her girls out at a high school.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Like, I mean, the idea of me tried to think
about my grandmother, Like the idea of my grandmother who
would tell me I was showing too much skin when
I was just wearing shorts.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Period, the idea that she would go.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
To a game and like threaten to flash people, Like,
how do you end up in that situation? That's crazy.
Then there was the high school track event where the
girl took the baton and just hit the girl in
front of her in the head.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
That's one way to get ahead, well.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
N ahead. And then she did an interview with a
local TV station.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Again she's in high school, so I'm like, I mean,
I'm trying to be you know, fair, But she said
I didn't do it on purpose. She's like, I know
the video made it look like I did, but I
didn't do it on purpose.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Does anyone believe that she didn't hit that girl on purpose?
Speaker 6 (21:15):
I mean that looks pretty intentional. And she even kind
of looked at her and sized it up. I mean,
she lifts her arms, not even natural movement while you're running.
I think she.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
And she knew what she was doing.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
Did she think that nobody would catch that on camera?
Speaker 10 (21:29):
Well?
Speaker 4 (21:29):
See, that's why I think it's plausible. Maybe she didn't
do it on purpose. She had to know she was
going to get caught, right, It's not.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Like it was he it was heat of the moment.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
You think you can heat in the moment, she.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Was frustrated and goes counk and just hits it right
in her head. That'll slow her down.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Come here, what'd you think?
Speaker 7 (21:49):
Right?
Speaker 4 (21:49):
It's a salt man. She ran.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
She roars back and conks that girl in the back
of the head. I think because the girl was passing her.
She's mad because she's getting beat and she hit that
girl in the back of the head.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
It did look like that she was about to drop
the baton.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
The one that did the hitting.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Yeah, her head.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Yeah, she was just she was just getting the better
trying to give the girl the benefit of.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
The defense attorney, Is it plausible that she was losing
control and then she swung out.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
I've run a hundred relays and never in track in
high school, in middle school, in high school, you did
a lot of realize yeah, yeah, And there's not one
time that I ever see anybody carried the button lose
their handle on the grip and it ends up above
their head.
Speaker 11 (22:39):
That's ridiculous. If you lose your grip, it falls, So
you're saying it doesn't fall upwards right into the back
of someone's head. Another girl immediately falls down. She has
a concussion. And I saw they she might have fractured something.
If you're accidentally hitting someone, they don't have a concussion
and immediately go down.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Well, so what's more embarrassing the girl hitting the girl
or the grandma flashing?
Speaker 6 (23:02):
They're trying to act like grandma. Grandma is an adult.
Grandma knows better. That's not your show, Grandma, sit down
and watch the kids. Grandma, grandma, yeah, Shannon, grandma.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
Yeah, Grandma is probably the most embarrassing.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yeah, Grandma's a little embarrassing. All right.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
If I'm nine twenty two eighty seven, we'll take your calls.
Bear at bags KOSR. Welcome back, Teke you Sports Radio eight.
I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh,
text machine, by the way, a couple open lines, give
us a shout. I'd like to hear from you. What
do you think of the interview? Are you ready for
the SEC Tournament? I got Derek on there, but let's
get some more people on. I know.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
See that's what probably So I don't like start shows.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
With the interviews because then it leads to people not
like calling because they're listening.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
I do, but we did that today. So I'd like
to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
One person writes, Matt, uh, my daughters played basketball for
Mayle for three years. We've been all over the state.
Uh in the region Pulaski. Southwestern has the worst fans.
Speaker 10 (23:57):
We've ever played. Oh is that true? Southwestern Pulaski. Having
just watched that video, I can't I know, but it's
it's a pretty wild scene.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, I mean that's a pretty like I'm laughing about
the woman doing that, but it's a pretty awful thing.
Because the thing is, like whatever people's view is on DII,
most people don't even know what it is. But if
if you're whether you're forward or against it, it is
now in some people's mind, just being an excuse to
yell at black people or women in a job and go, well,
you're a d I, which is a which like that's
(24:31):
just blatantly racist or sexist to do. So, Like now
they're just like you see a black person in a
job and people just think you can just say that.
I don't know if that ref. I didn't see if
that reff was black or a woman, but that's like
what happens. So if that was what she said, and
I don't know, to be honest, that's just what the
person in the crowd said. But if that was what
she said, that's awful. But it's also funny that she
(24:52):
tried to like may act like she was gonna flash people.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Somebody has said the three officials were all three women.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
See that's what I'm saying, So, like, what if that's
the case? People use that as a way just to
say it. Now, it's weird for a woman to say
that to a woman. That's even weirder. But but yeah,
I mean the other thing, like I said, with high
school officials, like it's not like there's a it's not
like you're getting into Harvard, Like, it's not there's not
a line down the street getting to do it.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
You're lucky anybody wants to do it.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
Also, maybe you shouldn't be acting like you're flashing at
a high school ever as an adult, maybe leave your
clothes on at a high school.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
I think that's just a good rule.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
I just think maybe we should all live by that
good rule of don't act like you're uh, we don't
need high schools an adult.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
I kind of agree with you.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Last thing before you go the phones, did you see
uh the interview with Danny Danny Hurley and his wife
on sixty Yes.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yes, Danny Hurley.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
I knew. I didn't see it until last night, but
I knew it was interesting when my mom said, I'm
so glad that guy's.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Not our coach. Your mom said that, Oh yeah, because
I guess they watched it.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
People were making a big deal online about the fact
that his wife said she didn't like basketball and she
didn't know what a screen was, And I thought, what's
wrong with that?
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Who cares?
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Like, I tend to usually date women that don't know
anything about sports, like you, when you do sports all
the time. If you're a basketball coach, it might be good, Shannon,
to have somebody you come home too who doesn't care
about basketball, Right.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
I leave your job at your place of work. You
don't have to bring it home. Why does she doesn't
matter if she knows she's not playing.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
I mean, I mean she's not the first for I mean,
I don't know how much like Ellen cal Perry, I
don't think was like huge basketball person.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Was famously noted that Joanne Patino was never a big
basketball person or in Lexington.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
And it also may be the case that if you're
gonna be married to somebody with an ego of Danny Hurley,
You're just gonna have to buy nature kind of be
like not into it, yeah, you know what I mean,
or else it's not gonna work. I mean, Danny Hurley
can't marry a female Danny Hurley. They'll kill each other.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
Right.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
Did you imagine if she was like critic I'm like,
you know, you really should have made that substitution there
ten seconds ago.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
He would explode.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
There were parts of the interview though, where she definitely
runs that household though you know, he may be a
successful basketball coach, but she runs the household.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
But again, isn't that kind of how it was with
Joe and Patino and l in California was exact all.
They both kind of had this powerful coach husband who
in public like the boss everybody around and act like
he was like mister right right, right right, And then
they got home and he was like, Okay, honey, whatever
(27:34):
you say. I mean, I feel like maybe that's just
the thing with people like.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
That, especially college coaches. I mean, how many of them
are really going home and mowing the yard, paying the bills,
cooking dinner. I think that's pretty normal for a college
coach's wife to pick up the slack on all that
stuff and maybe not paying much attention to basketball.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
They would not have worked here though, no blessing in disguise.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I mean, Danny Hurley would not.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
But don't you think Mitch hadn't to make an effort
to try to go if they.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Had hired him, like we would have all gotten behind it.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah, but I think the well, I don't know, should
I say this.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Just us, just the four of us sitting here talking.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Yeah, I better not, I'll get in trouble.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
I just thinking. I think Mitch felt like he had
to do it. I think he had to, but also
was like, not really, but that it didn't work out.
I mean, think about if you had to deal with
Cal for fifteen years and then that was next.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
You wouldn't want that. You wouldn't want that. Derek, go ahead, Derek.
Speaker 9 (28:35):
Yeah, guys, good to hear from coach Stuce today. But
you know, in this day of pay and play, the
coaches aren't going to really point out any individual player
too much. You would love to hear him say this
player didn't do this or didn't do that, But when
you've got to worry about the next guy, coming in
and throwing people under the bus, are actually pointing people out.
(28:58):
They're not going to do that. I'd love to hear
we all would, but uh make them be a little
more responsible. Uh, but they're not gonna do that.
Speaker 10 (29:05):
Now.
Speaker 9 (29:06):
The second thing he was talking about the twelfth Region, Uh,
the girls were being hosted in Pulaski County, but it
was actually Mercer County High School and Damble Christian Academy.
And the big problem was, uh so it.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Was not that was not even hang on, that was
not a Pulaski Southwestern fan.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
That was a Mercer County fan.
Speaker 9 (29:31):
I do believe.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
I just know, Okay me, don't be saying you believe.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
I don't want to besmirch the good people of Mercer
County unless it was Mercer County.
Speaker 9 (29:40):
Wasn't. Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't a Pulaski Uh. But
what happened was, uh, in this area, we don't have
many Christian schools or private schools you know coming in
uh to the tournaments, and now the last few years
we have Uh so they have a really good team.
Daniel Christian doesn't have a really good The girl she's
(30:01):
gonna go play for Louisville. But the situation was they
were up by thirty.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Yeah, but it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I don't really care what the situation was. You can't
act like that, you know what I mean? Like like
like it doesn't matter.
Speaker 9 (30:14):
I'm not condoning that. Yeah, you're correct, I'm not condoning that.
I'm just giving you some backstory on what was going
on at the game. I don't condone that behavior in
any way. Yes, so fans are stupid fans frustrated.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Yeah, well I might have to let you go, but
I appreciate the call, Derek. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
I'm sorry. I've got to go to the next thing.
But I you can't act like that, and people keep
telling me, he says Mercer County. Everyone on the text
machine is saying it's Southwestern. The people in Merce County
will be mad at Derek if he says it's them
and it's not them.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
I pulled the video up again and tried to zoom
in on her shirt, and I realized I got way
too close to that shirt and had to back up
a little bit. But just if you if it takes
two police officers to get you out a high school
basketball game, then you were in the wrong. I don't
care what you did. Look in the mirror and learn
how to behave at a high school game. And it's
a high it is a high school.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
That's why I think Trump and Elon will definitely look
into this and they'll get it situated.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
As well as they're doing with everything else. With that, Mike,
go ahead, Mike, Hey, Matt, what's going on.
Speaker 7 (31:21):
I just got a comment or two about the Mark Streets. Okay,
I think he's been there. How long has he been there? Five?
Five years?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Oh, it's been there longer than five thirteen?
Speaker 7 (31:38):
And how many winning records?
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Like eight or nine? I think maybe seven? Eight? Probably
it was didn't have a winning record his first two years,
had a winning record pretty much every year since except.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
The last COVID in this year. Yeah, so I think so.
I'd say he's had eight of twelve winning records.
Speaker 7 (32:00):
Yeah, I think he's overrated.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Well you thought that, now, Let's be honest. You thought
that number was gonna be a lot less. You thought
I was gonna say like three, but then I said eight,
and it left you a little.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
You didn't think that was what the number was, did you? No?
Speaker 7 (32:16):
I didn't. I don't know the numbers. Yeah, I mean,
I just think it's tough for him to go.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Well, I mean, he's not gonna go. Here's the thing.
He's not gonna go right now. He's gonna be the
coach next year. So I mean, in my view, like
we might as well support him this year because like
he's the coach, whether you think.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
He should be or not, right right, Yeah, So I
appreciate the call that.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
What are you laughing all the day?
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Right there?
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Boy?
Speaker 5 (32:54):
And doesn't even know that he thinks he's been here
for five years? Did you just wake up five years ago?
Speaker 6 (32:59):
You missed the tenth reseason? Man, that's a good one,
two of them. One of them missed the one before that.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
It was not Mercer County.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
It was definitely Southwestern.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
And a lot of people are angry that the guy
for saying it was Mercer County.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
He did not have a Mercer count.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
What Burson right, you tell Derek to shut his mouth.
We at Mercer County, classy. We only flash each other
for fuck.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Somebody says this is allegedly the grandma was the Southwestern
assistant coaches mother in law off with the coach's mother
in law.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Well wait a minute, the one assistant coach. He seems
to get kicked out at the contemd too. So do
you think he got kicked out taken up for his
mother in law?
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Good for him if he did? Yeah, what do you
mean good for him? Hang on just saying you don't
believe that. I refuse to believe that if you had
a mother in law that acted like that, that you
would go get kicked out too.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I probably would go up and try to defend her
a little bit, well.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Defend her for what she gets up and tries to fly,
acts like she's fly ash in the crowd.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
What are you defending her from?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
You would do that for your mother?
Speaker 4 (34:04):
No, my mother would not do that.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
If if your mother was that situation, tell Karen Blondale
that you think she would do that.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
No, but if she ever got a situation, you would
hear everything had defended.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
My mom would do it. Games.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
First of all, I didn't get in till there was
like a minute left and we'd already be down thirty
and she would stand up and go there's still timeys,
that was it?
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Yeah, technically there's still time. Yes, I have dated women.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
I'm not getting kicked out for their mothers if their
mother was acting a fool, You think I'm getting kicked
out for that.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
If my mother's doing that, I'm getting under the bleachers
and hiding.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
I would part of right. Look at Ryan, He's like, right,
you just take the view. No matter what they're doing,
you gotta go take off that.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You got to take up for your mother.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yes, I tell mom to keep her shirt on. In
the two minute delay, my mom hears that.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
You think she'd be out there, I said, I never
said that.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
That's exactly right. You're getting a text.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Maybe she should have taken corn bred him a lot
of it. She would have full trim flower only himp CBD.
She could have rest relaxed. They gave me some. They
gave some Tomorrio to give to me. These are the
sleep ones. These are really good. These will knock you out.
Yeah and uh. The CBD gummies for one hundred milligram
CBD extra strength. You can try them at home. Use
(35:27):
a promo code KSR for thirty percent off with corn
bread Hill. Ryan will be here taking up for mothers
in law. That's next on Chaos.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Welcome Back.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio text machine is blowing up
with people talking about this. One person rights, Matt, if
it's your mother, you hide. If it's your mother in law,
I agree with Ryan. You have to defend her. Somebody's
telling me that coach may have gotten.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Fired after the game. Oh really, would you? Is that
change your mind?
Speaker 2 (35:55):
I don't know what he was saying to the official.
I just think you got it something.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
I don't know if that's true. This is just you know,
these are text machine scuttle. But one person writes Matt,
I've written this question to you for three straight weeks
and you all haven't answered it, which he has. By
the way, I just need to know who are your
and Drew's favorite comedians. I think you two are very
funny and like comedy. I'm just getting into it. Who
are your favorite ones?
Speaker 4 (36:18):
All right?
Speaker 3 (36:18):
So if you're talking all time for me, I think
Drew's gonna agree with at least a couple of these.
I think we both love Norm of course, early, Chris Rock,
early Dave Chappelle, Louis c k up until up until
this stuff happened, I.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Was gonna say Louis ck pre things.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Like before all that, Bill Burr, Bernie Mack him downstairs,
Nate Bargatzi and Shane Gillis who I've really gotten into
in the last year.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
So that's my group.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
Who would you a pretty much named all my favorites.
Bergazzi has become my number one, and I've seen him
so many times in so many different cities. I think
he might actually have a restraining orders.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
To me, it got a little weird.
Speaker 6 (37:08):
Sometimes we're just pure coincidence that we were in the
same place. Luis c k would have been number two
if not for some disclosures about his private life.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
It's hard to weird stuff, you know, but he is funny.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
I still like Chappelle, even though it's not it's very political.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Everything's like he'say like man, those first couple specials though,
I mean that the best special of all time is
the first Chris Rock one though, right, like the OJID,
Like that's the best stand up special of all time,
the one about oj and all that, Like that's to me.
I mean, I know people say Eddie Murphy, but that's
a little before my time.
Speaker 8 (37:44):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
I also like Mitch Hebburg a lot, even though he's
I didn't discover until he died, but like his uh,
his stuff is good.
Speaker 6 (37:51):
There's a local guy who I'm still waiting to get
bigger than there. He is, and he's big, but he's
in Cincinnati. I've seen him a couple of times here
and likes and his name is Josh Sneed. I think
he's really funny. You should look him up on you too,
But he's not quite to the level of the names
we're mentioning. But he's also one of my favorites.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah, I like that one Nicky Glazer. Recently, I really
like Shane Gillis now. I like that he Shane Gillis
is like, you know now comedians. It feels like it's
just like a way for people to give their used
to be liberal opinions. Now it's conservative opinions. But Gillis
like skewers everybody, and I like that about him. But
I think he's I think he's really.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
Fun I think his sketches are so much better than
his stand up. He's got a whole YouTube series.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
He's really funny on his podcast too. I think I
just think he's a really funny dude. I like his
something about his awkward manner when he talks about Alabama football.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
And the Civil War and stuff. I just think he's funny.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
Really, my favorite thing to do is go to like
a comedy seller where I don't know any of that.
I like like learning about comedians that are when they
make it.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Like I saw Gary Goldman before he made it, and
then when he did, You're like, oh, that was kind
of cool.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Sean. What's up Sean?
Speaker 12 (38:54):
Hey, real quick, you were saying yesterday about comedians. It's
not Katherine Maddick. It's Kathleen. You'd probably caught in about
the uh you're talking about the Michigan the Michigan State
dust up. Remember this is the same school that also
did the same thing with os U.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
So that I like the.
Speaker 12 (39:15):
Buck guys, but Michigan's just jerks, uh, Shannon. The only
acceptable crystals are the burgers at lunch and the moms
at the booty shaking contest. And my serious thing is
for Matt have you ever considered having like a Handy
and Calm's political talk show in addition or aside from
(39:36):
ks Ran.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Well, you're not. That's not gonna you know, you're gonna
have to. I appreciate the call. Yeah, I mean I
did that with Hay Kentucky for a while. You know,
I gave Scott Jennings his first real start on TV.
I don't know if that turned out the way I
thought it would, but but yeah, I enjoyed it. But no,
I mean there's a lot of like. I like the politics.
I don't like when people yell at each other, and
(40:02):
that's a lot of what it is now. Same with sports.
I don't like listening stephen A and people yell at
each other. But PTI where they're talking to each other.
I do enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I do get a lot of people to ask me
if you're going to have a Hey, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
It's it's too much. It's like every day. You know,
it's a TV show, is just different. You need a
lot of people on it. It's just and it weds
you here. You can I like to travel, you can't
really travel.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
When you have the TV. You got to be here
in the makeup. In the makeup you know, made me
look Betteruke, go ahead, Luke.
Speaker 8 (40:35):
Hey guys, just two comments. And I don't know if
you've said anything about this. I've been listening on and
off today, but came up over my phone last night.
Coach cal was on the talk show or whatever.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
And yeah, we talked about that. Yeah, we talked about
that earlier.
Speaker 8 (40:51):
Yeah. Yeah, But the other comment, Man, I live here
in East Tennessee.
Speaker 7 (40:55):
I've grown up in East Tennessee my whole life.
Speaker 8 (40:58):
I'm a huge Cat fan. I'm not a vault any
means that's here for the University of Kentucky and everything.
But with Mark Stoops, Yes, last year's season was disappointing.
But where you live, where I live, When we get
seven eight wins, man, I'm happy. I'm watching my cast
wins seven eight wins. But like the ten win season. Man,
(41:19):
you thought I don't want a national championship walking a.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Revenue, Well, I do think that's a totally fair point, Luke.
I appreciate the call about expectations. I think some of
our fans expectations for football are too high.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
With that said, we got to be better than we
were last.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Year, you know, because we were undisciplined and we didn't
play well last year, and hopefully that makes it better.
Thank you to all the KSAR listeners for the response
to Kentucky Chambers flood relief efforts. Kentucky Chambers has compiled
a comprehensive lifts of community resources. If you want to
donate for all those affected by the flood. Kwychamber dot
(41:53):
com slash twenty twenty five storm relief. That's kwychamber dot
com slash twenty twenty five storm relief from the Kentucky Chamber.
The KSR Golf Scramble went on sale at ten o'clock.
You can get your teams. I'd say, go ahead and
get in. I imagine it'll be, if not sold out, close
(42:13):
