Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Wander back out Number two Tucky Sports Radio. Here it's
KOs Bar and Grill. Come on out, have lunch, see
us and join up. What is a beautiful day? Tomorrow's
a KISR Golf scramble to ask anything Thursday. You know
they're predicting some rain through Uh, it's good for those
of you that are in the scramble. We're going and
if there's any thunderstorm, we'll we'll delay it until until
(00:29):
it goes away.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
But it's on because it should be.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
It's gonna rain probably, but it will should be weather
that we can play in hopefully, hopefully.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Yeah, I don't love the forecast. We've been very lucky
most years. I mean, we've had some heat, we've had
a rain day once, yeah, and we've had some very
hot days. But overall we've been pretty blessed with sunshine.
It looks like it might be catching up to us tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
That's all right, though. Just make yourself, you know, get
yourself ready for rain gear. This is you know, it'll
it'll make the course play a little soggy.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Scrabbles are fun, man, I enjoyed it.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
The case our golf scribles should be at the level
of playing fields.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Should be a lot of fun. Now, one person rights Matt.
I was part of that Vietnam Draft lottery.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I was at UK. We basically all watched it and
the people who got a low number went out and
immediately got drunk at two keys. That's tough.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah, I mean, you know your life's completely changing. Go
enjoy what you have left of it there with your friends.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
They called it Shannon the Selection Show.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Yeah, that's that's the time.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
You don't want to want to get it now.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Barkley would commentate, He'd be like, all right, June third.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Yeah, Greg bum will rest in peace.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It would be that would be uh, that would be sad,
be sad. But but God play up too much with that,
you know. I will say this. I've said this a lot,
all of us. There's people on all sides of the
political spectrum that complain about everything, and there are a
lot of things that should be better. I think we'd
all agree, but there is we should be thankful, way
(02:01):
better than it used to be. Yes, it is better now.
It is better to be alive now than it has
been to be alive at basically any point in human history.
And we are, even with all of its faults, in
one of, if not the best places to be during
that time. We should be thankful about that, even when
(02:23):
we complain, as I do, about the things that happened,
because it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Even that long ago.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
World War two was like, there are a lot of
people alive that were in World War Two, Like it
was nineteen forties.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, look at this guy.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Women could never.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
And women could never yesterday, I thought was a really
good symbol Drew of why in Aisle has been so
good for college basketball. Away comes back to Kentucky. Pettiford
comes back to Auburn, Right, he's coming back. Yes, Condon
comes back to Florida. The lack Yaxel comes back to Michigan.
(03:03):
None of that stuff happened. None of those guys come back.
In the old system. College basketball is older, the quality
of play is higher. Some of those guys are coming
back to the schools where they were, where fans knew them.
I think it helps the NBA in the sense that,
like you know, they get guys who are seasoned after
(03:23):
the top fifteen dudes INNIL. I think has caused a
lot of problems for college football for a variety of reasons.
But I think, and now we have three or four
years to show this that for college basketball, NIL has
been almost a universal positive.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah, they said a lot of these guys would have
left just hoping to get any kind of money, a
lot of them knowing they would end up in Lithuania
in a few months, knowing they're not gonna get drafted.
But now they're coming back and it makes the sport better.
I mean, look what it's done to Cal. I mean Cal.
Everyone would leave Cal after year, whether they're ready or not.
Now he's got Carter Knox coming back. DJ's in a
third year without NIL. I mean, those guys leave, Carter
(04:04):
Knox would stay in the draft if if we didn't
have NIL. It just it makes the sport so much better.
It's gotten older.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
And it's better for the kids.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
And if you look at the final four last year,
a lot of players were retained in the similar with
an IL money that could have gone the year before.
It's just made the teams better.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Think about all these dudes that played for US that
have floated around the world playing for various teams who
could have come back and made a substantial amount of
money here.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
So just let's just go through with some of them.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
James Young, he went to the Red claus the main
red clause from Marcus t yep right, Dakari Johnson.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Dacari would have been he's my I wish he had
stayed because he would have been on that team the
following year with Ulss Murray, they just didn't have any
size with Scowl and Marcus Lee.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Okay, those are those are three who ashten Hagen another
I think EJ.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Montgomery had a lot left. He went straight to Lithuania
when he went pro.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, that those guys if they come back, they all
of a sudden are in a position to where they
could have made a million and a half to three
million dollars that year.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
And then given themselves a shot.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Like when you look at the NBA draft this year,
go look at mock draft boards. What you'll see is
the top fifteen to twenty picks are mostly first years.
I mean, that's gonna and it's probably always gonna be
like that. But then when you get from twenty to sixty,
there's a lot of guys who are in their senior years.
And there's a lot of guys who after their freshman years,
no chance they would have been drafted, right, No chance
(05:36):
at all. So if we were picking all freshmen these dudes,
there's there's zero chance these guys end up on an
NBA ross. I mean, Kobe Braya could get picked in
the second round. Was he gonna get picked after one year?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
No chance.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
So I just think it is a really really positive
thing and for the sport. And we were worried about
all this chaos, and I think football should still be
worried because there are problems, But for basketball, I think
it's almost a universal positive.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
You mentioned Tig. Think about the Nerlin's year. He's the
point guard instead of Harrow, And you might even have
a junior deron Lamb, you know, he's he probably would
have stuck around. Just think of all the guys that
could have had an extra year and gotten better. You
would have returned pieces from the National championship season and
put them with Nerlins. You know, it might throw off
commitments you get over time, but it'd be fun to
have those guys play a lot more basketball here and
they would have made more money. Than they did in
(06:24):
the league.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
And from the fan perspective, like you imagine a guy
like Anthony Davis. You though he's so talented, but if
he decided to come back, but he's.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
A bad exit, he's going number one. He did not die,
but he's not coming back.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I mean like that that those dudes are not coming
there's no system where those guys come back. But that
next tier of guys, the BJ Boston's of the world
exactly another good example.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
I mean, he's a guy who could have.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Found a second, second, second year year, another option of playing.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
I was begging for sophomore Chris Livingston. He leaves after
a bad year against a four year deal with the Bucks.
I mean, he's not a starter or anything, but he
plays quality minutes. He would have been a great sophomore.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
So I do think it has been, you know, a
pretty universal positive. Now you and I, Drew, we have
to talk about this case about.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
The roofing come the roofing guy. Yeah, it's not not great.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Okay, so the name of the roofing company, Shannon.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
I have anxiety of us talking about roofing company here.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
That's true. We've had we've had a history of talking
about but everything I'm reading you here, I just want
to be clear. Everything's coming from the Harald Leader. So
like my name's been itt, I ain't in it. I
am reading you Shannon Harald Leader. Okay, so get upset
if you want it. My friend Janet Patten, she's the
one that wrote this stuff. Can I read some of
(07:46):
this please? Uh? The owner of Lexington Blue, the roofing
company accused of defrauding homeowners and insurance company, ran his
firm as a cult of personality. His employees say, all right,
remember he's originally in trouble. The AG's offices is investigating
them for saying, hey, I'm going to fix your roof,
(08:07):
taking the money, and then he doesn't fix the roof. Right,
this sentence is amazing. Brad Pagel encourage employees to take
psychedelic drugs, lectured them for hours about his metaphysical beliefs,
and cheated them out of money, say several formal former workers.
He routinely berated them under the guise of encouragement, and
(08:30):
bombarded sales team leaders with hundreds of intimidating texts.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Now, would you like to know some of those texts? Please?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Apparently one of his employees made a post on Reddit
that he didn't. He did not like that they made.
He then got on allegedly on text and texted, we've
got to get him, find him away to shut up,
and then sent these crazy, intimidating, intimidating text basically about
(09:02):
what he was going to do.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
To him if he didn't, And they have the screenshots up.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, I saw in the Herald Leaders story, former employee said,
this dude's like an absolute psychopath. I mean, just all
the stuff he was doing, a lot of it you mentioned,
And it's not like he took advantage of like five
people or twenty people. It says there's hundreds of people
that he took advantage of getting away with this for
a long time.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
And then like you the article, like it's a long article,
and the article is about all the stuff that he
did and all the things that he wrote again allegedly,
and like this is just a dude here in Lexington
that was doing a roofing company. Again, we are careful
about roofing companies, but it's it's absolutely wild. He started
(09:45):
after ten years Shannon calling himself the reverend.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Yeah, that's a definite cult leader. So I'm going to
the guy.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Just before you say that.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Yeah, if I'm working at a if I ever say
to you guys, all right, start calling me the reverend.
That's the moment you need to say, Matt, it's been fun.
I think it's time for you to move on. Stop.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
We're not calling you the referend.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
All right, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
So the guy had his employees take you said psychedelics.
He had roofers up on a roof on. Yeah, on psychedelics. Yeah,
but what form of that sounds like a good idea.
We're gonna get guys on top of a house that
are on psychedelics?
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Did not positive?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
I mean, this story is wild.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
It is. It is one of the wilder stories that
I've ever seen about someone in Lexington that did this.
He he He also his social media included multiple pictures
of him as Neo from the Matrix.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I didn't see that part.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
He would do motivational talks, one of which was shown
to his employees and here's how it started. This is
Brad Pagel aka LeAnn Dad coming at you live in
one tape rough, rugged and raw.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
I think I would have walked out of the office
right there.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Today's talk is gonna be about getting rid of the negative,
the week, and the heavy, the blank in your life.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
That doesn't jive with where we're going to go.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
If I said to you in a meeting, this is
mad Joe aka reverend, I'm coming at you, I can't
even say this is not laugh I'm coming at you
in one tape rough rugging and raw bausimidated.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
You know, let's all eat these gummies and get out
there and pits and roofs.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Here's some mushroom, Shannon.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Yeah, there's a ladder and some mushrooms.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Get the word, Shannon, here's some mushroom. Let's go pull wire.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Are you ready?
Speaker 5 (11:52):
I think that's how ks R ends the day that happens.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
I'm out.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I'm just telling you this story on the hair Leader
is a wild story, and uh, I don't think it's
going to help this guy in his Attorney general investigation.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Do you They might revoke his status is reverend for
all this? You know, with so many victims and being local,
there's a decent chance that some people listening were fraud
about this guy. Maybe think chime in, let us know
what it was like.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yes, employees were told to watch the Wolf of Wall Street,
and then he would re enact the seat Let's go roof.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
Seemed like a lot of homework for a roofing job.
You know, I just want to go hammer some nets.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah that's true. You don't a roofing company. You're not like,
all right, dude, stop. Yeah, we don't need to watch
the matrix. I just have to put in this shingle.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Who's next, sh Jason.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Jason, go ahead, Jason.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
Well, I don't think they have to worry about the
mushrooms because Evan only they weren't fixing any roots anywhere.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Yeah, they never got on a roof, so I guess
it worked out.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
I got something. I don't know if you guys know
or not, but I'm usually a podcast listener. Yesterday, when
you guys were talking about the offensive line, coach, as
you faded out to commercial, and you know, sometimes the
commercials aren't the same and don't line up. You could
early hear Ryan say, I bet Freddie Mager's not happy
about it.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, he wasn't to say that on the air, but
it did co through the air. He said Freddie. Well,
Freddy didn't like Will Wolford, fred Freddie Rock or Eric.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
He didn't like he doesn't like any Wolford.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
He didn't like Eric Wolford because he thought that Eric
was not good about like he only cared about the
starters and he didn't develop the bench. And then it
showed itself when he went to Alabama and there was
a huge drop off in our players. And uh, but
that was Freddy was very Freddy thought, he, you, we
had good starters that year will Eric was here, and
(13:55):
but he thought he kind of worked him into the
ground and then didn't develop the bench, and that that
really made Freddie Matt. He thought, sometimes at the end
of the games, our guys were dead because.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
He didn't do what an offensive line coach should do.
Speaker 7 (14:10):
Yeah. Yeah, well Brian's always entertaining and I.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Just thought, yeah, I mean it's Ryan, right, Like that's
what's gonna happen, is that he's going to uh, he's
gonna do that.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
But appreciate the call. It's good reminder. These mics can
be hot.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah, and get me a second, like, turn off your
mic before you start talking, thinking you're off the air.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah, Brian is not gonna if I Okay, So the
guy who went on Reddit, sorry back to our reverend,
the guy that went on Reddit and complained. He wrote
to another employee, if that guy doesn't delete that post,
he's gonna end up in a.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Van down by the river.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
I mean, that's not good. And also apparently afterwards the
guy who had made the comments would get anonymous texts
that say we found you. You can't hide anymore. We
are coming for you. That is crazy.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
It's like trying to start the mafia here with those rooms.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
So you're putting up roofs.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
I imagine that you just signed up for a roofing
job and next thing you know, you're in a cult.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
I don't know if I'm nine, two eighth twenty two
eighty seven. We're gonna take a break. We'll be back
here to KOs Bar Grill. It's Kentucky Sports Radio. Walk
Back Tucky Sports Radio Drew Shannon Mario and Reverend Matt.
When you look in the mirror in the morning, Uh,
do you have spots on your skin? Like? And do
they worry you? Well, you should at least get them
(15:43):
checked out. The Kentucky Skin Cancer Center is here to
help you. Locations and on One's bro Bowling, Green, Franklin
and Powderly Kentucky Skin Cancer Center has fifteen hundred and
five star reviews. They'll check it out, make sure you
don't have anything you need to worry about. If they
need something removed, they'll do it. Go to the Kentucky
Skin Cancer Center. Seven oh eight four to one nine
(16:03):
nine nine. How come I can't read these to seven
oh eight four to two nineteen ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
They hid that too at the beginning.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
It's an important digit two seven oh when you need
them all eight four to two nineteen ninety nine. Now, Shannon,
you said, one of the former employees of the Reverend
is on the is on the thought? Is that right?
Speaker 5 (16:22):
We got Tevis here?
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Tevis? How are you?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Tevis?
Speaker 8 (16:28):
Hey, Matt, I heard you talking about Brad Pagel, so
I thought I might call in. I Uh, I worked
for Lexington Blue in the summer of twenty sixteen. Uh,
while I was basically on summer break at UK and
a lot. I mean, I can totally believe a lot
of the stuff that's coming out today about them. It
seems like he really kind of uh his worst habits
(16:51):
might have exacerbated over time, but I mean that was
that man is the most intense. Uh just it was
the most wild experience of it.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
So give me an example when you say he's intense,
when you say he's intense as a as a roof boss, like,
give me an example of something that would have happened
that was intense.
Speaker 8 (17:13):
Okay, So, like you know, I'm all, I'm at a
job all day long. We get done when the roof's done,
so I'm dropping the world. I'm coming back to the
office with a work truck and he brings us into
the He brings me or whoever else is around, into
the office to do one of those motivational sessions that
you read about. I can't even remember what you get.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
You get told, you get told you're gonna have to
do a motivational session. What does everybody think? We like,
we are here to make build roofs. We're not here
for motivation. So you walk in and then what did
they say?
Speaker 8 (17:48):
Well, I remember he played some sort of movie video
that I can't even This is a while back, so
I can't remember exactly what was going on. But you know,
it's a lot of talk about, like, you know, being
your best self, and I mean it was it was
just totally I can't even describe it.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
So you're gonna be your best self, but ultimately you're
just supposed to put up a roof. So did everybody
kind of think this is ridiculous?
Speaker 8 (18:14):
Oh, it's totally ridiculous. And he had a sovereign citizen
qualities at the time, I remember, and I think that
kind of played out the way he's well, you know,
you know the people who liked the law, like, say,
you get pulled over by a cop and he's like, well,
I'm traveling, I'm not drying, like that type of stuff.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
So he would claim he was sovereign and above the law.
Speaker 8 (18:36):
Yeah, yeah, and uh, you know.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
So did you like him? Did you like him as
a boss, or did you think I got to get
out of this? Well?
Speaker 8 (18:49):
He I thought he was a bit crazy, but you know,
to be honest, and part of the reason I wanted
to call in at least it isn't the vouch for
the guy. And this is nine nine years ago too.
But like I will, I will say about him, he
always had my back, Like if I got if I
ran into any trouble with homeowners association or just somebody
(19:13):
who was rude, like, he would always stand up for me.
He would show that he cared about me and Barticlar.
I can't speak for everybody.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
So he didn't make.
Speaker 9 (19:28):
No no, no.
Speaker 8 (19:29):
But at the same time, like I knew this, I
figured the company probably would have failed a lot sooner
than it did. It was just a w I mean,
I don't even know how to get into it.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
I appreciate, appreciate the call.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
So see all the way going back to twenty sixteen,
would you be a sovereign citizen?
Speaker 4 (19:53):
But I'm like, someone told me he has he has
a book on Amazon.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
What's the name of the book.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
What's by doctor Brad Pagel. I'm gonna assume it's him.
You see, it's called The Alchemy of Greatness, The Mind,
the Hustle, and the Awakening.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Oh how about what what are the reviews?
Speaker 8 (20:09):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (20:10):
It actually has four or five star reviews.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Wow? Well maybe maybe Shannon I need to start making
you all read that.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
How many.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
One of them is written by guy Brad? Maybe there's
two Brads in this equation. Could be Humber being his
own book. But he does have four or five star
reviews if we're to give him some credit.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Okay, Well, there you go.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Who's next, Matt, Matt, what's up?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Matt?
Speaker 10 (20:40):
How's it going. Uh, you guys were talking about the draft.
My dad enlisted in the Marine Corps in sixty nine
thinking that the draft was inevitable and a YouTube video
that you spoke about you could see it clear as day.
He was zero zero one. His birthday was September fourteenth.
He was the very first date.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
And the draft that's brutal.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
So he so enlisting probably helped him find a better
location than he would have right right.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
He Actually he didn't serve in combat. He was in
oak Inowa, but his service time was two years and
it got to come home. But yeah, he was lucky.
Speaker 11 (21:18):
He was very lucky.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (21:21):
But there's my question, was my ask anything question was
if you had to enlist, what branch would it be
and why?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Well, I appreciate the call. I think if I had
to enlist.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
I would try to do something with the law or
you know, I've seen Good Morning Vietnam. They have a
radio thing and the radio. Yes, I could be in
the in the radio part, but I would think maybe
what is it jag Corps or something like that. I
would be I freely. I would be horrible in the military.
I mean I would be So would you Mario, me too. Yeah,
(21:57):
who would be good out of our group? Ran as well.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
He's loyal, exactly Oil.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
He'll he'll do what you say like he's a he's
a good direction follower, Drew.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
He'll figure it out.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
I haven't been lucky to do the We did the
jump with the Golden Knights, and then I've done the
Blue Angels flight. I feel like I'd be an Air
Force Scott. I need to be in the skies.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Yeah, I'm scared of flying. I'm not doing that. I
think I'm gonna have to do. I hope they still
have Good Morning Vietnam the show. I'll just do that one.
We'll take a break. Be right back here at kas Bars.
Kentucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Good Morning, t J.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
He'll make them pay.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Walcome back in his Kentucky Sports Radio. I have to
say this. Drew keeps finding out more stuff about my man.
What's the name of his book? Well, he has twelve books.
Twelve books, twelve books. One of them is called roof Warrior,
Roofe Warrior. A lot of like the art of closing
the deal and going door to door. You know, a
(23:00):
lot of sales talk.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Yeah, all right, And then you said I was reading
the Herald Leaders story. It said that he would give
talks on the Rothschild family, the Illuminati, his weight loss,
and his tender profile.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
And his tender profile.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Those are four very different or maybe you can bind them.
I don't know. It's a strange man.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Seems like a pretty strange man. I'm not going to
lot Leaders doing a great job with this. The Breeders
Cup is coming back to Lexington next year. Very excited
about that. We have basically stolen the Breeders Cup from Louisville.
For whatever reason, the Breeders Cup is not interested in
going to Churchill Downs. They seem to be basically all
in on Lexington and it is all Breeders Cup in Keenland.
(23:46):
They'll do it in twenty twenty six. It looks like
the Breeders Cup's gonna go California, Kentucky, California, Kentucky. And
it looks like the Kentucky one is gonna be Keenland.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Yeah, I remember, I don't know the exact year, but
the first year Keenland had it. There were some current
concerns about Lexington as the city being a good host,
and they absolutely nailed it. Everyone raved about it, had it.
We've had it since. I hope it keeps going. We've
been we've gone a few times. That's when we had
the Toby Keith trash dogs, right.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Well, I mean that the two they've had were American
Pharaoh and Justified. That helps too. They've had pretty good Uh,
they've had pretty good ones.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
But both times Lexing in the city was a great host,
so I can see why they'd want to keep it here.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Yeah, it's uh, pretty pretty good stuff for the city
of Lexington. Is about about as positive a news as
you can get. Who's up next, Bob? Bob? Okay, Bob,
what go ahead? Bob?
Speaker 12 (24:33):
Yeah? Amn, Hey, you have so many irons in the
fire and all things being equal, from most likely the
least likely, what activity or thing would you give up?
And also one of the quicks saying, have you all
heard anything about the AI that blackmailed his programmers?
Speaker 2 (24:55):
No? But that worries me. Yeah, that's that's the kind
of thing I'm very very worried about.
Speaker 12 (25:00):
Real quick, let me tell you what happened I heard
it this morning on the news. Uh, this guy programmed
emails in this uh in his office there and he
was going to take that AI down in the place
of another and it sent him an email threatened him
to tell his wife that he was having an affair.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Oh yeah, well that's that's a crazy story. I appreciate
the call as far as as far as giving stuff up,
this is the one that I would probably give up last,
because this is the one that is the most successful, profitable.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
And so, uh, this is gonna be the one that
I would handle.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
The show, the show, yes, yeah, yeah, every everything else,
you know, everything else depends on on the stuff you
got going.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
I think the first you give up is you're cooking.
How's that going?
Speaker 2 (25:48):
No, I was.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I was cooking.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
I mean not as quickly as I would have liked,
but better than you would think.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
I've done a little bit.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
I've done a little bit heated, I've I've watched videos.
I've tried a couple of things. I don't want to, like,
get too excited, because I don't want people thinking I'm
more advanced than I am, which is what I'm worried
they think.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Well, that one I've had a lot of people ask me.
So if you're giving something up, I can see you
abandoning the cooking career.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Well, well we'll have to we'll have to see you.
Rail Bird is this weekend. Who are the leads? You
got Lady Wilson and who's the other one.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
There's Raleigh green Ley mustache. The women are upset about that.
So how do you think the it's It looks like Sunday.
I can just tell by the parking stuff here. We
Sunday we have filled up pretty close. Saturday not as much.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
I wonder is it who's the who's the lead on Sunday?
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Sunday's jelly roll?
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Okay, so that's probably on Saturday late boys.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Chaboozi is also on Saturday. Chaboozie, you're still interviewing him.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I was told by someone that Chaboozy has been here
all week, that Chaboozy has been Chaboozy has been seen
around the city of Lexington all week.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
So what do you think about that?
Speaker 4 (27:01):
That's neat. I mean, that's a big star. I'm glad
he's enjoying our town. He'll also be with Bailey Zimmerman.
You're a big Bailey Zimmerman. Guy, don't know who that is.
That's the second headliner behind Lady Will.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
That might be why Saturday hasn't been quite.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
As Maybe Shabboozie could come by ass bar.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah. So, like I said, I've heard he's been here
for quite some time, so that's kind of I guess
that's that's good. Hopefully it works out.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Who's next, Jamie, Jamie?
Speaker 9 (27:25):
Go ahead, Jamie, Yes, sir, It's Jamie from Glasgow, Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Okay, time listen.
Speaker 9 (27:31):
I think maybe my second time, Colin.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
All right, I was just wonder.
Speaker 7 (27:36):
I was just wondering.
Speaker 9 (27:37):
I'm not a big spender and it took a lot
of convincing to get me to buy further than shady raids.
I was just wondering if y'all get some kind of
kickback because they're pretty good glasses.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
We do not, I mean, we did not get a kickback.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
No, as uh, they they you know, I mean, they
pay for the ad. But my assumption is people buy
them because they keep paying for them.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
But I'm I'm shady rays.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
I said, I've lost one hundred and fifty payers because
I lose sunglasses.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
But I do I do think they're very good.
Speaker 9 (28:09):
Well, one fire turned into three fire somehow I give
my wife my Debbie card and one fire turned into three.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Far I understand exactly work.
Speaker 9 (28:18):
But they are really they are really good glasses. I'm
gonna give you that.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
All right. Well, thank you very much, sir, appreciate the call.
If I'm not two eight oh twenty two eighty seven,
we got some breaking news.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Shannon, Oh, let me get it ready, all right?
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Running on a Charlie Baker, the president of the NCAA,
says their goal is to try to expand the NCAA
tournament to seventy two teams, hopefully by this season.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Too many teams, man, too many teams.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
I don't like that.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
You don't like that.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
I mean, once that four more, it's not the end
of the world. But I just it's it's fine. Let's
just let's stop anymore. Because then if you had four
more on down.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
The road, would that be an extra round?
Speaker 4 (28:58):
Then if he had, well.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Know what they would do is they would make the
playing games. There would now there's four of them, there
would be eight, so you would have probably games all
day on Tuesday, all day on Wednesday, So that the
idea would be rather than just playing Tuesday and Wednesday
night of that week, there'd be games starting at noon
on Tuesday, games starting at noon on Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
I mean, I'm not upset about the opportunity to do
more March Madness betting, especially in the day, but I
just I like it where it is with the NCAA tournament.
We don't need more.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
I don't understand why they think they need more. First
of all, you're gonna end up with more bad teams
from big conferences.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
That's who's gonna be. That's who's gonna make. It's not
gonna be.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
It's not like they're gonna get Of those four new teams,
maybe one will be a mid major, but three of
them will be you know who made it last year,
North Carolina, and they were terrible. They're gonna be teams
like that. I don't feel like. I mean, it's not necessary,
but you know why.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
They're doing it. They're doing it for money. And that's
the reason.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
What would Rob Doster and Jeff Goode and do with
their big Field of sixty eight off therea.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Now I have to change the name to Field of
seventy two.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Somebody should go buy that web domain right now.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Yeah, so don't like it.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
I don't love it. I mean, I'll admit I would
enjoy a noon game being on the DraftKings app, but
I'd rather than not do it.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Also, the SEC said yesterday, I don't know if you noticed,
the presidents had come out and said they wanted to
have the NCAA football playoff with four teams from the SEC,
four from the Big Ten too, blah blah blah blah blah.
Then Brian Kelly and the SEC coaches came out and
said take the five best conference champions and then all
eleven wild card. They kind of like publicly win against
(30:35):
their presidents, which was kind of an interesting thing to see.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Did that surprise you a little bit? I liked the
keeping it open. I think the SEC would still get
most of them anyway. Yeah, like last year that I
think that if you had a first out in football,
it would have been mostly Alabama, Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina.
So I think even though it doesn't have the automatic
bids that the SEC would get now, I still think
it would end up being more SEC.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
I was just a little price to see the SEC
basically publicly come out, to have the coaches come out
and just like disagree.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
With their with their with their with their bosses. You
don't see that a lot more.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
You don't, You don't, But yeah, SEC, it's too much
of a dominant conference for for that to happen. I
feel like, yeah, SEC is just gonna fill up the
spaces and that's fine.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
I'm good with that, but just make him earn.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
It, right, Yeah, I feel like down there in Destin
this week, Greg Sankee's been getting a little sassy. I
keep seeing stories about, you know, Sinkie kind of scolding people.
What people have been saying. He's denying stuff. Uh not
a lot of ton of news and decisions coming out.
They didn't do anything with the schedule, but Saninkie's getting
very loud.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
And part of the agreement was that we would play
a Big Ten football team every year. So so basically
the SEC would go to Noine conference games and a
game against the Big Ten. If that happens, the Louisville
game's off the schedule, We're not playing. If that happens,
they'll get rid of the Louisville game.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Well, he did say he's encouraging teams to keep their conference,
their their longtime rival. But if you add d If you.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Make us play nine conference games, and then you make
us add a Big ten team and then we play Louisville,
We're only gonna have one game we can certainly win.
Our chances of making a bowl every year start to
become very difficult, Shannon, Like, I mean, if we have
to pay eleven major conference teams, us making a bowl
(32:25):
becomes not a regular occurrence.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Right, Yeah, that's why you want to keep it at eight.
If you're Kentucky. I mean, there's no adding another game.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
There's no upside, at least in the current system.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
We have three gimme wins in a in a system
where we have to play a Big ten team, now
we're down to two, and then if you play nine
conference games, Drew, you're down to one.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
I would enjoy the Big Ten game, though, just something different.
We've we've been going to the same SEC cities forever.
I would like going to a Wisconsin or in Iowa,
really anywhere but Indiana and playing a game there, just
for something new.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
I think, for something new, it would be good.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
I'd like to see him do eight conference games, make
us play a Big ten team, we keep Louisville, and
then we play two bad teams. I'm good with that schedule.
That's what I would like to see me too.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
I like that a lot uh.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
BBN spring is sprung, and that means you're getting outside more,
whether that's yard work or staying active by biking or
running for increased physical activity. When the weather gets warmer,
it can lead to aches, pains, and injuries. Court physical
therapy can help get back to the things you enjoy
while helping you prevent injuries from happening. It's court dot com.
That's ko RT dot com. Court dot com. We'll take
(33:31):
a break of me right back. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.
So this is Bailey Zimmerman, who I didn't know who
that was. This is uh, he seems great something your country. Yeah,
I can see. I I'd like to make sure I
get there.
Speaker 13 (33:46):
For Bailey Zimmerman, you're not spot on. I mean like
it's it's it's great. Uh what's your favorite part about it?
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Well, I mean I like how he's seeing in very
generic music that could be created by a I and
it's probably a love story about someone that's wonderful. But
then he also he's not perfect. He drinks beer a
little too much and is a little rough around the edges.
I don't even know if that's what the song is
(34:18):
every country song, but that's every country song, and it's
just pleasant enough that it's not going to offend anyone,
but it also is completely uninteresting.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Well with the title of it, again, Shane smokes Holy Smoked.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Okay, Shannon, just pull up the Holy Smoke's lyrics and again,
I've never heard this song. I didn't hear one word,
and just read me what the the first verse is.
It's It's gonna be terrible.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Okay, Well, you got to listen to the song while
I'm pulling it up.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
At least, yeah, read it.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Well, I was only scared of the devil and her dad,
so we park somewhere we knew they'd never look. Oh yeah, no,
I've never seen nothing like her playing with the flame
of her mama's lighter.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
No, it wasn't very long before I was hooked.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
See that's awful.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
I mean everything about that is objectively awful. First of all,
I didn't even know what it was about. I already
guessed clearly, he's rupped around the edges.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
That's wired.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Dad doesn't like him to continue. Now she's well, if
it's worthwhile, which I'm sure it.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Will go to the part that starts with life wasn't
I think.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
It's life wasn't heavy in the back of that chevy,
me Her and the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Okay, he did not say me her in the whole week.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Something about us hell of a rush, falling in love,
lighting up them holy smokes.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
First of all, did he write that in like eight.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
Minutes that GBT wrote that.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
That is the that's the worst song.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
So you're not going to be there for basing that death.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Compare that to like Tyler Chilters. You remind me of
a Sunday back home in old Kentucky. That's beautiful, right,
what like that's a really you know? And then this
is lightening it up with the girl and the Holy
Ghost and the smokes.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Like I got more, I can continue.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
I'm good. That's the best part.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Okay, go ahead, what's what's the best part?
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Heaven was a preacher spot in that first church parking lot,
hanging on to me like the cross on a rear view?
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Does her eyes were blue?
Speaker 1 (36:28):
The words were red on that half pack of cigarettes
at seventeen.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
That was Holladay.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
This man is comparing his woman to God.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
To a pack of cigarettes at seventeen.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
That's what Haladijah was that Holy smokes.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
Great title for the story that makes it.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
There is a time that would have been considered blasphemous
to compare God to.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
Cigarettes hanging on to me like the cross on a
rear view.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Well, now I know why Saturday is not quite as
popular at at the all. Right, Draft Gigs, Pacers and
Knicks Tonight game five, go to Draft Gigs. Bet five
dollars to get three hundred dollars. They will not be
playing Bailey Zimmerman at that. Uh. You bet five, get
three hundred dollars if you win. It is a in
bonus bets DraftKings, the crown is yours. The Knicks are
(37:19):
a four and a half point favorite at home. Do
you like them to keep the series going? Well?
Speaker 4 (37:24):
I should add I've been wrong now six times in
a row. I started hoting the playoffs. I didn't miss
for the first two rounds. Gone cold here. Uh, I'm
gonna say the Pacers put them away, even though I've
been on the Knicks this whole time. I think it's
the end of the road.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
I think the garden's gonna be rocking. So I'm gonna
I'm gonna go with the Knicks on this one. They're
gonna take it back to game six.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
I'll give I'll take the Knicks. I think you go
to Game six, then the Pacers win. Game six probably
is the is the way it goes. I think you're
gonna get good Jalen performance, good Zesty Carl performance, Miles
Bridges gets going, and you end up getting the win.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Open zesty Carl's questionable with the bang his knee.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Sesty Carl doesn't play, then where then it's Pacers because
they won't win without him.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Listen, I love Carl, one of my all time favorites.
I want him to get a ring. But I saw
more of those videos last night. I think this is everywhere.
But you know what's funny is I think this is
making him likable now. I think, you know, because people
have always kind of thought he was kind.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
Of dorky and weird, and I think NBA people were
like they didn't really know what to think about him.
And I think this whole zesty Carl thing is like
making it to where people are kind of embracing him
a little bit. Right.
Speaker 6 (38:33):
I think he's embracing it too, I think he should
embrace it.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
He should come out tonight and go fou like he
should do that.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Sec The one I saw was Carl Town's Top five
Jesty his moments, and I was like, I don't want
to watch this, but I have to watch it.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
I've watched that same video seven times.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
And when he goes and after all that that, you
can't love Carl.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
I don't even like bringing it up. But it's everywhere.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
It's everywhere, It's everywhere, and I think he I think
it has made him. I think it's made him more likable.
I really do.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
All Right, who's next, Aaron?
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Go ahead, erin but shure I.
Speaker 11 (39:09):
Hey, fella, I'm from the smith.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Yeah, go ahead, fou so I I grew up in
the Smithland area there that you was talking about.
Speaker 7 (39:22):
With the crypto guy.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Oh okay with the hands, Yes.
Speaker 11 (39:25):
In the house that you was actually showing. So that's
the original Smith Mansion. It's right next to the river.
It's kind of like a landmark in that area. There's
not many houses like that around there, and I'm twenty
nine now, so like my whole life, that house has
kind of been vacant. So it was kind of wild.
If he actually did live there, because Paduca is only
like twenty minutes away. So whenever you showed that house,
(39:48):
it was kind of wild because, like I said, I'm
twenty nine and I've never known of anybody actually living there.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Well, apparently he did. Apparently he just bought it like
eight months ago, so he hadn't been there very long.
One zo point five million dollars. Have you ever been
in it? Somebody told me they went to Livingston County
High School and they would do their high school graduation
pictures there. Did you do that? So?
Speaker 11 (40:10):
No, So I actually my sister and all them everybody
else went there. I went to Crickland County. I lived
in Livingston though for a long time. Okay, but really
nobody was ever like allowed in that house. It's known
that there's like tunnels, there's all kinds of stuff with it,
so if you like look it up online, you can
see there's all kinds of crazy stuff around that house.
(40:30):
But actually going in it, like really, even growing up there,
you didn't hear of many people like going inside, Like
a lot of the pictures were on the outside there.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yeah, all right, well I appreciate you. I'd be uh,
I'm fat I think it'll be up for sale again
because the student's probably going going to the pokey and uh,
they're gonna probably have to put that that for sale
for some restitution.
Speaker 4 (40:50):
I would think, Yeah, I don't know that he's gonna
get out of this one reading all the reports of
what it's been alleged and how much trouble is in.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Yeah, that's right, eight five nine two eight. Well, Well
we don't have to do that is tonight.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Come on out. Starts at seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
We got a handful of tables left, So get your
uh make sure to come in and get there a
little early.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Get your seat. I gotta finish the questions. I'm a little.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Behind, but Mario will be here for our final qualifier tonight.
You're ready to r I.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I think Ryan's family's coming too. So, oh, Ryan's Family's
coming yesterday.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Well, good for him. That'll be awesome. Ryan's got a
big family. And again, congrats to him for graduation. Congrats
to all of the graduates. I hope everybody has a
great day. Watch out for roofing, you know, watch out
for the reverend when you're going around. Mario, thank you
for filling in, Hey, thank you for having me, and
thanks to my parents who just who showed up a
(41:42):
little while ago. Larry's been making a ruckus here next
to me. Hard to concentrate. We will see you later.
This has been in Kentucky Sports Radio.
