Welcome to two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Welcome back, have number two Tucky Sports Radio Matt, Ryan,
Drew and Shannon. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty
two eighty seven, the text machine is seven seven two
seven four five two five four h Ryan Corey Price
found the box score of that Madisonville Lafayette game.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
The dude that.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Went eighteen and two thirds innings. By the ways, Nick
trapv eighteen and two thirds. Here's what's impressive in relief.
Oh can you can you imagine looking at your reliever
and going, okay, get son, go get your metch go
out there and give me a good eighteen and two
thirds today.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
Heard of long relievers. But that's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
By the way, the other guy lichens for Lafayette drough.
He just went a cool fourteen, and he probably thought,
you know, if I go fourteen, I'm gonna get a
lot of praise for it.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
And then the other guy goes eighteen and.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Two thirds, Then you're fourteen doesn't look like anything in
the end.

Speaker 7 (01:59):
Yeah, he can't really say much to my guy, Travis,
I think you said, I don't know, Travis, I don't
understand how I went to uh Madisonville for four years,
never saw a statue of that man. I should have
been driving past his statue every morning on my way
to school.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Vic Vic Travis ended up being a big league umpire.
He's from here, he's he probably pitched for Lafayette.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Oh you think that's who it is? Do you have
any basis for that?

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Or you're just saying that that's I mean, there's could
be a lot of Travis's.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
You think you think it's this one.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Now, it's gotta be this guy, Victor.

Speaker 7 (02:25):
The Travis was the loser, then then I the winner.
I should have been uh seeing, So.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
I like this shit.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
He is just convinced that the only person whose last
name is Travis Vic could have played his first.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Name was Vic.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, Vic, Travis the picture and he's also became a
big league umpire.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Okay, all right, so you know, yeah, okay, that's what
the color said. Oh he did?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Okay, right, fair enough? Twenty two eighty seven. Let's go
over a couple of things. Uh, First of all, did
you say shan in any of the videos from Bartstown
Road this weekend?

Speaker 5 (03:04):
No?

Speaker 6 (03:04):
What was there were fights?

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Oh? No, I didn't don't even know.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
I don't even know that you can use the word
fights Melee on.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Uh, I didn't go out there.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Yeah, so that area. I think it started next to
the Taco.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Bell YEP, I know what you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
On Bartstown Road, but just go look it up.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
I mean it matter with the price of tagos or
what's that.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I don't know what it is. It seemed to me
like it was it was I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It seems like back in the old day, Shannon, when
they would do the twenty four to seven belt in
the WWE Hardcore Belt and and people would just there
was just a melee of people.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Usually Al Snow was involved in those.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
That's right, Yeah, you might have been, Uh.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
It's crazy and it just goes on and on.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
If you look at the videos, the two things you
notice is the fights don't stop, and they just seem
to add people exponentially. And then they're everyone has their
phone out filming. Wow, Like they're like everybody's everybody wants
to be the one to make the videos. So what

(04:16):
happens is there's this group of people fighting and then
there are like dozens of other people that surrounded filming
the videos, and they end up shanning fighting to get
spots to film the videos.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
You think I'm kidding about this.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Go look at it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
It starts at the Taco bell and it looks to
be going down the street towards the bars down there,
like towards Wicks and and O'Shea's, Baxter's all that that stuff,
and it just seems it's almost like the Lord of
the Rings.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Trilogy of fights.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
It just keeps going and going, and I.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
I was never told what it was over.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I'm sure it was something very important, but it is,
and you know, you look at it and you go
the police end up showing up.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
The police have none of you seen these videos?

Speaker 7 (05:16):
There were all clips on social media.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Okay, so it was it on like Twitter or.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
It's like, I don't know, there's they just show up
on some Instagram accounts like there's a there's a Louisville
News or something.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
I just just look around.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
I feel like they're on Facebook and Instagram and TikTok.
You'll you'll find it. I don't have a particular account. Drew,
you saw them like that?

Speaker 7 (05:40):
No, it's chaos everywhere. Was that in protest to the
Mid City Mall? Is that what they were doing?

Speaker 5 (05:45):
No? I think it's just I guess just a Saturday
night out.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Okay, I got it now on Facebook?

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Okay, but do you see what I'm talking about? Loo?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yeah, there's there's like, by the way, that's the official
news Louisville. You don't need to your DRV or wave
or w h A s. You go to Louisville News Facebook.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Can you imagine you're just walking down the street. You're
just like, I gotta get a taco at Taco Bell
and you run into that. I mean, what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (06:19):
Running the other way?

Speaker 2 (06:20):
That's what I'm going to say. Man, these people stick
around and record it. I'm getting the heck out of there, man,
I'm getting.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Are you Channon? Are you?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Are you getting out of there?

Speaker 5 (06:28):
You recording it?

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I'm probably leaving. I used to go down there every weekend,
you know, in my younger days, I was in it.
I was was you know, Phoenix Oll Tavern, all those
bars down there.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
I was down there every weekend.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
It makes me sad that area has completely those bars.
I mean, you're right Chin, and that used to be
where you went out little I would say years from
like two thousand to two thousand and eight nine something
like that, right, I mean that was where you went?

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Was that part of ten?

Speaker 3 (06:57):
I'm not walking with you to O'shes anymore, not not
after seeing that.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
No, it's not, it's not that. It's not it's not
like that all the time.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
I feel like they would have to, they'd have the
streets barricaded off if it was like that.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Time one of you and I were going to our
you know, our annual walk down to O'sha's, and that
happens now.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Maybe wish. I bet Here's why. I bet you. I
bet you it's safe for next weekend that it was last.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Week, probably gonna be a heavy police presence.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
I'm just telling you. If you want to be like
whoa that was in Louisville, go, first of all, go
to go to Louisville News Ye and look at videos
from Saturday night. Are you seeing him, Ryan, He's Drew
showing them to you.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
I haven't seen him yet during the break.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Probably just absolutely wild stuff.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Also, uh, I don't know, did any of you watch
Sports Science on ESPN? Of course that the guy who
did it, what was his name, John Brincus Brincus, He
passed away this weekend. Sports Science was the thing where
they would show what would you say to They'd show
like the numbers of how a high jumper, how far

(08:06):
he jumped, or how fast somebody went to Ken Griffy,
you know, caught a ball to the outfield.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Always, as a.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Kid thought I just found it interesting because they would
take some guy and they would say, you realize he
runs x meters per second or whatever, and you go, wow,
that seems like amazing stuff. You know, they don't do
that stuff anymore, but I actually enjoyed it back in
the day.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
Yeah, that was groundbreaking stuff. Even if they were lying
to us. It was very cool to see, like the
exact velosophy, velosity, if the ball was it You think
they were making it up. Well, he's faster than a
gazelle right here at this point in this clip. I
didn't know the science behind it, but it was a
nice It was a new angle to sports that we'd
never seen before.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
I like the idea. You think they just made it up,
he could throw it farther.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
They showed you the science though science.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Presumably it was science, right kind of. I bet those
weren't your favorite segments. I don't feel like the science
part would have made you interested.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
No, it kind of made me my head hurt a
little bit trying to figure out what the heck they
were talking about. But I remember I did see one
on Nolan Ryan one time. They said, like the ball
coming out of his hand was like one hundred and
nine miles an hour out of his hand, and then
by the time it crossed home plate it was one
hundred and four or something like that.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
Did you believe it.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I'd believe every second exactly, but.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
That's not a huge difference one hundred and nine to
one hundred and four. Did that blow your mind or something?

Speaker 2 (09:25):
That it was one hundred and nine coming out of
his hand, that would be that, by far the fastest
pitch ever recorded.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Okay, well, I'm glad you put that clearly stuck with
you the years later. Okay, well, good well, so h
rest in peace to John Brincus. And then last you know,
I don't this may surprise you, Shen, and I don't
know a lot about war and.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
The military, Okay.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
No, I mean I don't. Well, some people really will
study like military tactics and all this stuff. I don't
know anything about it, but I did think this was interesting.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Did you see Shannon that Ukraine like made this big
attack on Russia.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Yea, yesterday.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Did you see that?

Speaker 4 (10:09):
And did you see how they did it? Because I
think it's a it's fascinating. They over the course of
a year and a half made this like mobile drone shooters, right,
and they they found a way to get semi trucks
into the country. So they just over the course of
a year and a half got semi trucks into Russia.

(10:32):
And they and they did it like they would go okay,
and they would just leave the semi trucks on.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
The side of the road for a period of time.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
And in those semi trucks, which looked to the naked
eye just as trucks where you would drive, you know,
goods too, they had a mobile drone launcher and they
placed these trucks all over Russia, so in like twenty
five different spots, I don't know how many spots, but

(11:01):
spots all over Russia, ranging from the part next to
Ukraine all the way to the ends of Siberia. And
then at the same moment they launched these drones attacks
from these trucks and the moment they all went out
at the same time, and they took out one third
of Russia's air force in their country by doing these trucks.

(11:24):
And then they had it to where if anybody tried
to get next to the truck to see what they did,
the truck exploded.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
There's people are saying that it is one of the most
brilliant military attacks in like decades.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
But it does sound kind of amazing, isn't it that
you just have all these semi trucks and then you
launched them all from inside.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah, and that nobody went up to see like what
those trucks were. At any point they would put a year.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
They would put well, I don't know if they left
them the whole year, but they would put them on
abandoned roads that people like never went down. And because
Russia didn't think it could happen from inside their country,
they weren't ready for it, and all of a sudden,
so it not don't they didn't shoot them from somewhere else.
They actually shot them from places inside Russia.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
But they're playing the long game, right. Imagine you know
it took it a year and a half.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
A year and a half, right, I mean that's a
long time. A year and a half to get it done.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Just listen to tell the story. It sounds like Hollywood,
sound like a movie that somebody made. That they could
pull that off like that. It's amazing.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
And I'm sure there's military people out there that clearly
know more about it.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Maybe you're more or less impressed with it.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I keep seeing all these people from around the world
saying this is one of the most brilliant strikes of
all time, blah blah blah. But just the idea that
you would, for a year and a half plan to
take these trucks there, and then they made it to
where if anybody was to ever come close to them,
the truck explodes so that they could never catch it.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
And then it worked all that and it doesn't work, yeah,
or something that doesn't launch man and it and.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
They took out a third of their of their aircraft
missile our aircraft long range missiles shooter in like five minutes.
So kind of amazing. Who's up next, Junior, Go ahead, Junior.

Speaker 8 (13:07):
Hey guys, I got the best sports trivia question in
the history of sports trivia, and it's about Major League Baseball.
Who has the career record for most home runs hit
on Mother's Day? It's a two part question.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I'm gonna go ahead and tell you I don't think
this is the best question in the history of trivia
no matter what your answer, unless your answer is like
mother Resa, I don't think it's gonna be the best ever.
But we'll play along. Who has the most home runs
in the history of Mother's Day? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
I'll say Albert Poohols. Who is it?

Speaker 8 (13:44):
Yes, but you're wrong, it's Kim Griffy Jr.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
I was actually gonn literally, I was going to say
Kim Griffy Junr. Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 8 (13:53):
Who has the most career home runs in Major League
Baseball history hit on Bob's Day?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Well, I mean, I think the only way this is
interesting is if it's also Kid gri.

Speaker 8 (14:07):
It is interesting, and it is also Ken Griffy. It
just speaks to his natural talent. Hey Mom, I'm going
to hit a home run for you today. Hey Dad,
I'm on deep for here today on Copas Day. I
just always.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Okay, Well, that, no, that is interesting. I'll agree with you.
That's interesting. So I appreciate the call you Ryan. You
think people can do it in honor of their families
like that.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I mean, you've seen people like promise a home run
to a kid, a sick kid, or somebody they made.
So sometimes they follow through and it does happen, King Griffy.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
They never do the story though when it doesn't happen,
Drew Right, You always hear those stories about how they
meet the kid and then they say I'm gonna hit
a home run.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
They do, but then you never hear the story. I'm
sure it has to happen where they didn't hit a
home run. That one, it doesn't feel like comes up
as much.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
No where am I videos of crying kids that were
promised a home run and they didn't deliver in these
big moments. All the kid wanted was a home run
for their birthday and you let them down.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Is the more interesting stat guy promised home run to
a dying child and struck out five times in the game.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
Yeah, they do.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
They don't get what's the guy who makes you cry?
Tom Rinaldi doesn't do esus about the time the guy
went over four with a lazy ground out to short after.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Those toy get tears his ac l in the process.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
When you look in the mirror in the morning, if
you see spots on your skin that worry you the
areas your skin won't heal or bleeds unexpectedly, then you
might need to go see a dermatologist. The Kentucky Skin
Cancer Center has locations in Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin, and Powderly,
Kentucky Shandon. Somebody said, every time I say Powderly, I
always say it like I don't think it exists, and

(15:50):
they're like, it does exist. One hundred does one go
to the Kentucky's kin Skin Cancer Center or two seven
eight four to two one nine and it's the Kentucky
Skin Cancer Center dot com. Take care of yourself. You're
not just a patient. They will treat you like family.
We will take a break of very backs. KISR.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
This song always, the song always makes me like they.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Would play this. Wasn't there a show Ryan that would
show like baseball highlights or something?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
And oh, yeah, this baseball this week in baseball.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
That's right, Yeah, I remember the kid watching that A
lot right would come on like what Saturday morning and
then they would what would they show? Because I do
remember this show, but I don't remember what was on it.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
They would show the past week's highlights. Sometime that you
have a cool little feature on something on a team
or a guy. What was the name of the host,
Meil Allen, Meil Allen.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
Okay, I do remember this song from from doing that.
The account one of the accounts that has these videos,
uh Shannon w.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
T F Louisville.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
I guess what w T means.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
One person writes, Matt, I was at that Taco Bell
the night all those fights happened. It was wild and
people kept running in from all over to video it.
And you're right, more of the fights started with people
trying to video it and then getting in fights. I
didn't think it would ever endow that's close to because everybody,

(17:30):
but you can kind of see it is close to
my neck.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
But you can see the inclination too.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
You see this fight and you want to video it
so that people will watch your video, I guess. But
also like, I don't even remember who it is that
posts these videos, so I don't know if that really
helps you.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
But either way, just be careful when you go to
Taco Bell.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Chip says, here's an interesting another interesting story from the
Lafayette Madisonville game. Tom Rogers from Madisonville played football at UK.
He was in charge of video in the game for Madisonville,
and he recorded the entire game, but he forgot to
remove the lens cap.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
No, so he missed the historical game. No, that can't
be true. Come on, now, that can't be true.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Recording do they have lens caps back in nineteen seventy.

Speaker 7 (18:25):
Tom Rodgers is a Madisonville legend. I can't believe he
would do that.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
You think, Okay, do we call truth or do you
throw the challenge flag or not? On that story that
he forgot that Tom Rogers forgot the lens cap on
the camera.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I'm throwing the challenge flag. I think Tom Rogers slept
and missed the whole game and that was a story
he came up with.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Or maybe he like put it.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
I don't know, Shane, what do you think like put
it without someone manning it and then laughed and didn't
rise he left the lens cap, And.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I guess that's possible that like when you look through
the lens you see that it's all black because there's
a cabin, which.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Means he would have had to have not been there
to do that, right, you have had to set it
and forget it and then go somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
But you would think you would have it all focused
before you just left it.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
You know you would.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
You would focus any any novice cameraman would at least
have it focused in.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
So you're saying you think Chips lie.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
Yeah, I don't think there's any truth not true.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
I'm gonna believe Chip.

Speaker 7 (19:24):
I don't know how you would just make that up, Tom,
I think he did. I just think he had a.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Pad one bad moment, had a fart. How do you
make it up? Ask Chip, you just did it? Believe.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
With the end of the Knicks Pacers series, NBA on
T and T has now ended drew after I think
they've been doing it for thirty one years.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
The NBA has been on T.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
And T in some form, and then the NBA Show
with Barklay and those guys has been on since I
think the late nineties. They are now going to move
to ESPN, but it will still be produced by T
and T, but they will no longer be on T
and T. I think the question for me, we talked
about it, but now it's over. I saw in their

(20:10):
final show, Shaq said to ESPN, ESPN don't blank with us.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Do you think ESPN will ruin it?

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Will they try to put steven A or someone on
it and ruin what I think is objectively the best
sports television show that has ever existed.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
I think they absolutely will. I saw Sack Shack's comments
with the full F bomb on TV on his last show.
They don't see that a lot. Yeah, no, but he
even said he's like the last time doing this whatever.
But yeah, I am worried that we'll have Kendrick Perkins
sitting between Charles Barkley. I think they'll work in their
ESPN people and ruin what has been a great thing

(20:52):
for decades.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
I mean, you've been in television a lot in your life. Ryan.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
One thing I've learned about television is that everybody thinks
that they can make whatever it is better.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Right.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
So when I did Hay Kentucky, when I signed the agreement,
part of my signing was you will let me do
whatever I want. And they said yes. And when my
boss he kept saying yes. And then the boss changed
and he tried to do stuff to change it, and
I fought it off, but it was hard. Do you
think ESPN will be like, this is a great show,

(21:28):
but you know what would make it better? Throw in
a little steven A like they'll screw it up.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
If they do that. They will.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
You can guarantee they're gonna do that. They want to
put Stephen A or Kendrick Perkins or some of their
own guys on.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Kender Perkins is awful by the way, they cannot and
I know he's my Don't tell anybody I said that
shit because I taken cannot put Kendrick even one of them,
but definitely Kender Perkins will go ahead.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Right.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I feel like, no matter how hard they try, though,
it will never be the same that just those four
guys on TNT.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
What if they keep just the four guys, You don't
think they can be the same somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
They're the same producers. They have to keep the same everything.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
They are just they're keeping the same every They're even
doing it in Atlanta.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
They're still doing it where they are.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
You know, if you do that, I don't you know
the way Ernie reacted like you know, he teared up
and even Shack returned up a little bit. I think
they know it's never going to be the same, and
no matter how much they try to say it, ESPN
will get their fingers in it and it will not
be the same. Anymore.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
They just can't ship. They're going to want to put Steven.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
They established personalities they want to inject in there.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
They can't, though, Like what makes that great?

Speaker 4 (22:38):
That those dudes like each other and it's natural and
if you start throwing somebody else in, there's just no.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Way to work. They got to just stay away from it.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
And they can be they can be pretty critical. And
I don't know if he has ben'na let them be
critical like they are sometimes, like you know, Charles Barkle
will say this so and So's stinks or whatever. You know,
I don't know if espn'll let them do all that.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Well, they better cause that's that is the best show
in sports on television. You cannot screw it up. Who's next?

Speaker 6 (23:09):
We're up against the break here? I got twenty seven?

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Okat tell you we well, then just tell whoever that is.
We'll be right back. If I'm nine two twenty two
eighty seven, it's KSR. TJ. Smith, Personal injury attorney, call TJ.
He'll make them pay. Now.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 5 (23:27):

Speaker 5 (23:57):
This is the good life.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
One person writes Matt, I'm driving back from a girl's
weekend in South Carolina. Drew Laney from Mount Sterling is driving.
She's the queen of the zipper Merge. I've seen more
people doing it recently. Is that the KSR effect?

Speaker 5 (24:14):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (24:14):
No, but I still am a big advocate. Shannon did
a really good one on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
I was proud.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Did Jo got right up there waiting for the truck.
The semi cut right in. No, you have to use
the semi because it takes the.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Semi truckers right now driving around listening to you, so.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
The trucker knows it takes it a minute to get going.
And because it takes it a minute to get going.
That's when you zipper merge and you go and remember
I've been people send me, keep sending me studies, Drew.
It is quicker for the general collective to zipper merge.
So I'm I'm an advocate in most situations. Even though

(24:58):
I feel bad when I do it, it's still, I think,
the right.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Thing to do.

Speaker 7 (25:03):
I still think you might be confusing just cutting someone
off the traffic with a zipper merch. I think these
are two different techniques. Yes, I think the zipper merge
is more of a collective effort. You're all one on
the road, but a lot of teamwork involved, sometimes just
going to the front and you know, pulling in there.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
That's what is the difference between cutting someone off and
a zipper merge.

Speaker 7 (25:23):
Everyone's a willing participant in the zipper merge.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Well, I can't collectively Ryan talk to everyone and say
let's all do this. I can only control my behavior.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
When the you go down to the interstate and the
left lane is closed and the line of traffic's all
on the right, the guy that drives all the way
up to the very end of the left lane, and
then that's that's that's not a zipper merge. That's not
a zipper merge.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
It should be. No.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
It kipper merges when you've got two lanes of cars
you have you're taking turns going one at a time.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
No, No, there's a process.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Yeah, but no, the only reason there's not a process
is because the other people are not participating. What you
just the situation you just describe, Brian, is where you're
supposed to do a zipper merge. Where you're talking about
a lane gets closed. Okay, what are you laughing at?
I'm being serious. Okay, so there's a lane closed, and

(26:21):
then you start, you know, Shannon, you start seeing signs
lane closed in three.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Thousand feet, two thousand feet, et cetera. A zipper merge
is that you all should use that period of time
and then merge at the point that the lane is closed.

Speaker 9 (26:36):
It is not everyone sign No, that's not that's what
people know. No, No, that's where people that's what we
we've been we've been told to do over time, and
that is actually less effective. The zipper merge is starting
farther back what you're supposed to do.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
It's less effective for humanity.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
We had to put this up for a vote between
the four of them.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Now, the public is not right just because it's the public.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
I'm just saying, in any other formal life, go cut
somebody off and see what happened.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
I agree with you, Shannon, it would be rude. But
zipper merge.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Is different. It is scientific. Shannon, Yeah, it is.

Speaker 6 (27:20):
I'm supposed to have heard the front of the line.
Let me cut everybody else off.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
No, it's not everyone.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
The point is if everybody did it, it wouldn't be
cutting people off because we would be doing the most
efficient thing.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
Drew, you see what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (27:34):
So you're thinking you're kind of you're leading and everyone
else is just behind on what we're doing here.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
You think the way what I'm doing is trying to
take humanity to a better place.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
So you're just really a man of the people with
your zipper merge.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
I'm a man of trying to lead the people to
a brighter tomorrow. It's what we're It's basically, it's basically
what we're saying. Doesn't sound like you bought it right.
One person rights Mad. I was at the golf scramble
on Friday. I think it was the most fun one
you've had, didn't get a lot of rain. Ryan and
Mario were nice to everyone. Thank you for putting it on.

(28:10):
I do think it was one of amazingly Ryan, it
didn't rain. I mean we got through that whole day.
After it poured. It literally kind of stopped right before
we started.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Him. By the end of the day, it was nice.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
It was a beautiful day out on the golf course,
and I think that maybe the fastest scramble we've ever had.
Usually we're stuck out there till six or seven o'clock.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
Was spread out over two courses.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah, there wasn't any backups on my side anyway. Didn't
see anybody.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
Really was it really wasn't it was? It was. It
was great.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I heard a rumor that Judge Gabe is the only
person that hit the CNS Pools bullseye the whole day.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
He did. He hit the bullseye. He won. I don't
know what they gave away, but he won something.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I think he's the only one prizes wild eggs.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
If you chipped in this little bucket, you got like
a free meal, and I got that one.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
I was able to hit it in that. Gabe hit
the pool thing and what was it. Who won? I
think did we ever find out who won?

Speaker 7 (29:04):
I did not defend my crown. I don't know what
one on my course, but it was not me.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Scores were better on you on your course, Matt than
Truce course.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
Well Cat's a little tougher.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Well it was a lot of fun, and thank you
to the University Club for hosting it and all the
people that came out. It seemed like one of the
more positive experiences. We agree, so appreciate all of it.
Who's up next, Mike, Mike, Go ahead, Mike.

Speaker 10 (29:32):
A couple of things. Vick Travis was a umpire. He
actually had an umpiring school here in Lexington that I
attended when I was in college, and it was it
was really good and I think it's something I'm missing
now as far as referee coverage and stuff in this area.
The other thing is, if you think Kentucky baseball it
was painful, how would you like to be banned? Or

(29:53):
Texas number one? Number two overall? Seaton the entire thing
both got eliminated. And then lastly, there's a really a
douchebag move to do what you do on.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
The Okay, that's stop it right now.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Holidays right there.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
What's the name of that caller. What's the name of
the caller, Mike, have you studied the science of the
zipper merge?

Speaker 6 (30:17):
He already dropped the mic and hung up. He's gone.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
He's not interested in the science. He's interested in feelings, Shannon,
not facts. And I'm just trying to promote facts as
to what it is. The number one and two seeds
lost in the baseball tournament, right, and that's the first
time that's happened since nineteen ninety nine. And Tennessee has
a chance to go down today. They're one of the

(30:42):
top seeds. LSU has a chance to go down. So
it feels like if there was ever gonna be a
year for a random team to win the baseball tournament,
this might be the one. A lot of SEC teams down.
You know, we had fourteen teams in. I think there's
only six left uh in the se in the tournament.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
You know, I'm pulling for Murray State to take out
Old Missy also, so there could be a lot more
SEC teams fall out.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
Today. Speaking of an SEC team, an SEC coach made
some news though. This is what I'm gonna play you.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
This is the Coastal Carolina coach Okay, Coastal Carolina is
hosting a regional and Florida was in their region. Florida
got eliminated, and I guess Florida was upset because a
game started later than it was supposed to for rain reasons,
and they got mad and took it out on the

(31:33):
Well you'll hear the Coastal Carolina coach after they win
to make the to go to the super regionals, Coastal
Carolina coach goes to the press conference and he had
this to say about the Florida coach.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
What about that?

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Shannon thinks he can come and bully people around, calls
out the Florida coach for being a jerk and trying
to bully people around.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Do you like that?

Speaker 6 (31:57):
I like that he's calling them out. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
I would like to know, oh specifically how he was
bullying them, But I liked it.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
This guy, well Drew, there's a video. Have anybody seen
the video of the coach. He's kind of like give
them the giving him the heared fore. I guess he's
mad that they were postponing the start of the game,
which was gonna make Florida have to play later. And
then they might have to play again.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
He was good.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
He was upset that they were delaying the start of
his game because if they won, it wouldn't give him
enough rest for the night game. Well, he ended up losing,
so it didn't matter anyway. But Drew, do you like
calling out Florida's Hall of Fame coach and saying, uh,
don't be picking on my on my field crew?

Speaker 5 (32:36):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (32:36):
We need more of this, normalize calling out other coaches
with behind the scenes stories who wouldn't otherwise know No,
A lot of times this would happen and it would
just never see the light of the day. The Coastal
Carolina coach would take his anger home with him to bed.
But this guy said, no, I'm telling everybody. I'm tattletelling
in this press conference. And now we can see the
Florida coach. I've seen the clip you're talking about, just

(32:56):
berating someone who probably had nothing to do with any
of the decisions, just someone work in the field that day,
and I'm glad he got called out for it. Bring
more drama to light.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
I agree call out coach, especially I'm four Ryan calling
out coaches for being jerks to people just doing their job.
I love the Coastal Carolina coach. I'm a fan of his.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Now I have not I don't know who this guy is,
but I'm a huge fan as well. You know, kids
has always been a kind of cardinal Real coaches don't
say anything bad about other coaches, but something like that
guy trying to bully the field maintenance like it's their
fault it was raining that day, like they had nothing
to do with it. Their trying to get the field
ready for you to play.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
Shut up, Hey, if I'm nine to eight oh twenty
two eighty seven, calm down, Ryan.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 2 (33:39):

(34:02):
five nine Equality Lender NMLS, Consumer Access dot Org.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Back to you, Matt.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
Did you did any of you watch King of the
Hill when you were Was he any King.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Of the Hill fans?

Speaker 7 (34:14):
Some?

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Not, not often some?

Speaker 11 (34:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Okay, Well one of the guys who did the voice
of John Redcorn does anybody know that character anyway? Shot
at his house by neighbor in Texas? So that's wow.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
WHOA, well, yeah, that's uh, by your neighbor. That's well,
it's unfortunately sad to hear that. We'll take a break
and be right back. It's Kentucky Sports Radio. I'm glad
to see that I have some support on the text machine.
Seven uh seven seven two seven seven four five two
five four The text of the day. One person rights, Matt,

(34:52):
being the only one that understands ZIP emerge the correct way,
uh is almost infuriating. It's very simple, and I don't
understand how these other three guys who are smart can't
wrap their minds around it.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Totally agree with you on that.

Speaker 6 (35:06):
Yeah, it is very cutting in line.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, okay, so let me read you this one one
person rights, Matt. I feel like this will help those
guys under a stand to think about the two lanes
at McDonald's.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
What do people do?

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Do they either all go in one long lane and
then get to the front and decide which way to go,
or are there two long lanes that at the end
after you order zipper merged together. Difference, that's the way
it could be in traffic, exactly, big difference.

Speaker 7 (35:37):
That's a forced zipper merge. There's no one navigating our
zuper merge.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
It's not far.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
People could just decide to sit in one lane, but
they've over time collectively realized to get into that it
works better.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
So that should be what society is like. We should follow.
The McDonald's drive through. McDonald's has showcased that this is
the best what.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Well we need ron at McDonald out there on the
highway directing traffic.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
See, I've left you speechless, Ryan, because you know you
what we this.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
This person makes the right point.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
No, I think most people listening. Then they response to
that Drew and I have gotten are definitely.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
A text machine, says other.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
What text machine? You don't have a text machine? What
is your text machine?

Speaker 7 (36:23):
Ryan's the original text machine.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
My cell phone got some things I can't even sell.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
Tell you what those do? You?

Speaker 4 (36:30):
You asked for this yourself, Ryan, Those of you who
know Ryan's text machine text team and tell him who's correct.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
I think he would like to hear from you.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Ok, yeah, that'd be great. I can't wait to get those.

Speaker 6 (36:44):
But you got a new phone, it should be ready.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
My new phone does work finally, Oh you got a
new phone. I had to get a new phone. Finally
got out to work, still green.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
But you get Did you get an iPhone? No?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Absolutely not Android?

Speaker 5 (36:58):
What is the what is your brand is? What is
the name of it?

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Samsung Galaxy twenty one I think is when I'm working
with the days.

Speaker 7 (37:06):
Did you get the insurance?

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Of course I got the insurance.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
I had to get the warranty.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
Yeah, Samsung Galaxy twenty one. How many where are we
on the Galaxy world? Is this one of the newer
ones or is this an old one?

Speaker 2 (37:18):
No, it's definitely an old one, probably before COVID, I
think so before yeah.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
Forty, I mean maybe agree.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
Okay, let's Shannon look up. What's where are we on?
The same?

Speaker 7 (37:30):
Looks like they're on the twenty five?

Speaker 5 (37:33):
You're and you got twenty.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
One twenty one? Twenty one? Yeah, I my insurance was
a swap one for the other.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Oh, so you got to swap on a twenty one,
So in perpetuity you can only get twenty one?

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Have you got insurance on this one that also will
only get you twenty one?

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Well, you can, you know, pay the upgrade if you
want to pay another.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
Time you didn't pay that.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
So basically, Shannon the cell phone technology in twenty nineteen,
he's going to be Ryan's forever, right like he can never.

Speaker 6 (38:07):
Well, I mean, what's twenty five I'm gonna do? The
twenty one can't do?

Speaker 5 (38:11):
Well?

Speaker 4 (38:11):
I mean I would still dry sensing, speed is quicker, Yeah,
the camera is better. I'm sure there's gonna be AI
features integrated in new ones, and Ryan, you're just never
gonna get any of those.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
No, I don't need any of that. I just need
to be able to text you guys, make a few
phone calls.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
So you bought insurance again? Oh yeah on a phone
that's six years old? Yes, yes, so by drop it
and crack it and break it again.

Speaker 7 (38:36):
But how much would you twenty one be if you
just bought it if it's such an old model.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
Conceivably be now? I bet it's very cheap because no
one would buy it. Yeah, I don't know if I could.
I just got the insurance and it has a swamp,
But did you look into it? Did you look into maybe?

Speaker 7 (38:52):
Going so there's some for one hundred. Here's some for
one hundred and eighty dollars brand new on eBay.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Okay, so that's good, all right. So it's one hundred
and eighty dollars. How much are you paying a month
in insurance?

Speaker 2 (39:02):
I just paid it one hundred dollars deductible, so I
don't know what the monthly charge is.

Speaker 5 (39:07):
No, but going forward, how much a month is your insurance?

Speaker 2 (39:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (39:11):
That might be good. You may have ended up paying,
like let's say you're paying twenty dollars a month in insurance.
You may end up paying in eight months what the
whole phone would have cost. Period.

Speaker 6 (39:27):
It's possible you don't pay for that phone twice over.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
I mean almost certainly it's the case, Ryan, that you
are going to in a year pay for the phone
in insurance and still not have paid for the phone.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Yeah, the insurre is not twenty dollars. I think it's
like single digits, four or five.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
But you don't know.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
I don't know, I don't My phone is just buzzing
like crazy right now I really appreciate that good.

Speaker 6 (39:58):
Are they agreeing with us or are they agreeing with Matt?

Speaker 4 (40:01):
I can't like you Gotta at least know how much
the insurance is and make a good financial decision.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
That's all I'm asking.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Okay, I'll make up my new bill, and what is the.

Speaker 7 (40:12):
Value of the twenty one? Is only gonna go down?
Maybe in a year it's one hundred dollars maybe, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
That's the will become a collector's item.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
It I'll go up.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
But that's why you don't do these things, because the
value goes down, and if you ever need to replace
it and you want to buy the same one you have,
it will be cheaper than the amount of insurance you
paid up until that point.

Speaker 5 (40:30):
You guys, do you.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Remember who you're talking to? Stuff?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
We're trying to help you. Who's next.

Speaker 6 (40:37):
Let's go to Joe.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
Joe just got a minute quickly.

Speaker 11 (40:42):
I was gonna say something about that that drone thing.
But when the Samsung twenty one came out, Kentucky basketball
was four and seven and coming off a twenty point
loss to Alabama, had already lost to Richmond, wake Forest,
North Carolina, Ruisville. I'm glad he's gone. I love you, Mark, folks,

(41:04):
keen enjoyed Ryan.

Speaker 4 (41:06):
This was he bought the he bought the Samsung twenty one.
Was right after Olivier Sar missed another open jumper.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
Drew to win the game.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
So thanks for that memory. Thank you all right, Ryan,
thanks for entertaining us on the way out. We will
be back tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (41:24):
Enjoy your Monday on the second of June, and this
has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
