(01:29):
of physical therapy with Court. Let's go over a couple
of things here before I go to the phones. A
five nine two eighth twenty two eighty seven. Uh, drew
the Reds are back. I saw that Summer Ell tweet
Summer of ELI summers l E. I think since since
May first is like second in the league and on
base plus slugging. Uh, he's uh, he's he's hitting, he's running,
(01:52):
he's fielding, he's l e ing. Uh the Reds of
one seven last ten.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
And they're in first in the division.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Well, I mean that's that's not really, that's not the goal.
The goal is to the goal is the goal is
to be the best you can. But they're two games
over five hundred. They just won a series against the
the best record in baseball, Tigers baseball. But they broke
two massive streaks. I think I told you this. They
had lost thirty nine straight series where they lost the
(02:21):
first game, and they broke it this weekend. Then they
had not won a game all year where they were
losing after the seventh inning.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
They were on thirty. Oh that's terrible, and they won
yesterday after being down going at that, so that I
feel like that's here we go.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
Chew, Well, I missed I think eight shows. How many
times did we go up and down with the Reds.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Up the seven of ten right swept the Guardians.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I think it was right before the show of ten
he said I'm done with the Reds.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I want now here's what I like yesterday, Shannon. I
think more sporting events should do this. I want to
see if you all agree. The game yesterday was on
something that I didn't know existed. Problem with baseball is
there on so many days like it's how do you
even It's on so many different things. To watch the Reds,
I have to have like seven different things. But this
was on something I didn't know existed the Roku channel.
(03:12):
Did you know there was a channel called Roku Channel?
Speaker 4 (03:15):
I know that you know Roku, but did you know
they have a channel they carry sports? Apparently didn't know
there's a Roku Sports channel. Didn't know?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
And apparently they have a baseball game every Sunday at noon.
Were any of you aware of that?
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Nope? No, are you aware of it channel?
Speaker 6 (03:32):
No?
Speaker 7 (03:32):
I just watched it on the MLBA every.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Every every Sunday at noon, they have a game free
that anyone can watch on the Roku channel. And I
bet you no one listening to this knew.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
That until yesterday.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
I learned of it two days ago because we were
in tom Square and on the biggest screen in Times
Square they had a Red's logo and I was like,
why is there a red ad in Time Square?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
So I guess in some ways it works because I
wouldn't have known there was a Roku Sports channel if
there wasn't that Reds game. But here's what I like
about it, so I turned it on. It looks kind
of cheap, like, it looks like the graphics are from Atari.
Like it's like the Reds play the Tiger, Like that's
(04:18):
kind of what but I will say this, they did
something that I think TV network should do. The announcers
for the game play by play guy was the Tigers
play by play guy. The color guy was the Reds
color guy, Jeff Brantley, So it was the Tigers guy
and the Reds guy.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
And they knew about the teams, and they would say
when the pitcher was up, the Tiger's guy would go like,
now he normally does this, and Jeff Brandtley, the Reds guy,
would go, well, for Ellie, that's what.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
He wants him to do. And you were like, these
people know about the teams. This guy's teaching me about
the Tigers. If I'm a Detroit I'm learning about the Reds, Shannon.
That's what they ought to do on these national broadcasts,
rather than bringing people that don't know either team, they
actually knew these teams.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Is that not a good idea?
Speaker 8 (05:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
And for some of these play by play guys, I mean,
what a cool opportunity to work with the guy.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
For someone new. I thought it was. I sat there.
I was kind of making fun of the graphics because
then they would be like ball to outfield. But the
announcing thing, Ryan, I think they should do that in
college basketball, we play Alabama, have Tom Leach in the
(05:37):
Alabama color guy, or have the Alabama play by play
guy and Jack Gibbons. Yeah, like they'll know more about it.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
So just for their Yeah, that ones high profile game
in the week.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Or maybe one or two games or whatever. I just
thought it was a unique change of pace that I
had never seen done before. And it made perfect sense
to me.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Because if it's a there one Sunday afternoon game, you
don't want to have Homer.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Just but rather than Roku hiring a bunch of people
that don't know any of the teams and that do
one game a week, do this. I just thought it
was a good idea.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I may end up watching these Roku games to hear
the two announcers from different teams.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
All.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
It's a good idea.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
It could be fun in a close game if you
get a little bit of trash talk. I know they
got to be professional.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I will say, if you shon, if you will look up,
if you can find this.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
I don't know if you can find it. The Detroit
Tigers guy calling the Tigers home runs versus calling the
Ellie home run, he had different levels of excitement.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yes, when the When the Tigers guy hit it, they
were like, back back, it is good. And then when
Ellie hit it.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
He was like Ellie, who's long run Joe and it
is out. He didn't quite have quite the same excitement.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
You know, It's okay. I still think that's hard. I mean,
if you had to.
Speaker 7 (06:57):
Call a Lobel game, that's where you would be when
Lobell did something right.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
But I think it would be cool to have a
game with like, you know, I just thought it was
a neat idea.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
I wish I would see we could see it more.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
I just want to know, like, what's on this Roku
channel the other twenty two hours out of the day.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
After it was over, I watched the postgame show. I
had to be the only person in America watching that
postgame show. And then it was Women of Surfing that
was the next show. I didn't watching Women of Surfing
was next. So anyway, it's kind of neat. They so
in a tragedy, someone killed a legislator in Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
And then I mean, did you read this story. This
is a wild story. Man dressed up as a police
officer went to a legislator's house in Minnesota, knocked on
the door as if he was a police officer, and
then shot and killed her and tried to kill her
husband or actually maybe did kill her.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Husband, and then went to another legislator's house was at
the door. They came, shot him both, then saw the
police coming, ran and got away. Was a forty eight
hours they just caught him late last night. Wild story.
(08:11):
But here's what my takeaway from it. The police saw
him shoot the second one and didn't catch him, and
he got away.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Shan him for forty eight hours. Wow, with conceivably the
whole country looking for him.
Speaker 7 (08:29):
That's a crazy story.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Usually, what is it like if you don't catch a
criminal in the first forty eight hours, your chances of
catching that criminal go drastically down.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
So but it is amazing to me. I thought this
when the Luigi got got out. How in twenty twenty
five do people get away? How it would feel like
to me they should be able to catch him. Like
immediately they pulled over the guy's wife. Did you see this?
(09:01):
She was driving towards the border and they pulled her over,
and she had passports and like one hundred thousand dollars
in cash. She was clearly trying to get out of
the country, and she almost did.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Is that not he wore that like mask that covered
him completely. Now I didn't look that human if you
look close in the picture, but it completely like changed
his identity at least for this.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
She changes like and they ended up figuring out who
was But do you think in twenty twenty five Shandon
people can get away?
Speaker 7 (09:34):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:34):
No, I mean I don't know what some of these
criminals are thinking. Obviously not much, but I don't know
that in their mind. I guess they are cocky enough
to think that they're smart or smarter than everybody else
out there that can outsmart you know the police officers.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Well they did.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
I mean he did get away for forty eight sure,
but eventually forty eight.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Hours more than I would think.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So do you So, let's say somebody were to commit
a high profile crime like that. Do you think in
twenty twenty five, someone who commits a crime like that
can get.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Away like for good?
Speaker 7 (10:07):
No?
Speaker 2 (10:07):
No, you can take no way. You can run for
a while, but they're gonna catch you eventually.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Do you think you could get away?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
No?
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Not unless you're out of the country almost immediately.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
So what is the way they would think they could
get away, Like how would they think, Okay, I'm I'm
gonna do this and I'm gonna get away.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
You can't get on a.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Plane, can't use your cell phone, can't I mean you
have to get on a plane instantly before they have
any idea even who it could remotely be. They would
have to you'd have to get on a plane before.
But then if you're in the air and you go
to a country that the US has any relationship with,
you'll get stopped there.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
So you probably can't get on a plane at all.
You can't drive, can you across the border because.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
In Mexico, but you just don't go to the pizza
hota soup like what's his face?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, but remember he he left before he got charged
with anything. You're talking about Eric c corr, right, So
when he left he wasn't wanted yet he just never
came back home.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
So you can't probably cross the border. I wouldn't think.
So what do you do you get on a boat?
Speaker 2 (11:15):
You would have to have like an underground bunker, like
I don't even like in the I would say in
the Amazon, but that's all swamp.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
So I was a television show like I would watch
a television show that talked about how people try to
get away.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Don't you think that would be an interesting show. I'm
not saying you should like. I don't think we should
encourage telling people how Well.
Speaker 7 (11:39):
There's a great show out there that exists.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I Almost got Away with It. I'm fascinated with it.
I've seen it. I think it's on like one of
those ID channels, you know, investigators call.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Now I Almost got away with It.
Speaker 7 (11:52):
Oh yeah, it's it's fascinating.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
So how many people that commit major crimes? I mean,
I see like at the post Office most Wanted list,
but most of those are like financial crimes or they're
drug trafficking. How many people that commit major crimes like
murders and they know who did it? It's different than unsolved.
(12:17):
We don't know who did it, but you know who
did it get away.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
I just can't catch it.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
They just can't find them. Does that happen? It's getting
harder and harder. Yeah, there's a camera right now.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
If you think, if they know who you are and
they know you did it, they will get.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
It, will get you. Is there anybody that is famous
that got away?
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Maybe some like years ago, but nowadays it seems hard.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
To dB Cooper.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
I guess I was like, in what the sixties or
fifties or something, just track you on camera you were shot?
Speaker 4 (12:56):
How long it took them?
Speaker 3 (12:57):
We talked about this a couple of weeks ago to
find Osama bin latt Uh.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
You know he was. He was in hiding for a.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Long time years, but they found My point is they
found him basically in like a shack in Pakistan, and
they still found it, and they knew where he was
for a while before they before they moved in. I
just wonder, standing like, these people who commit these kind
of crimes, do they really.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Think they're going to get away? Because I feel like
nobody gets away. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Well, if you're willing to commit that type of crime
or you know it kills somebody, you're not in the
right mind set to begin with. So in your own
mind you could probably think, well, yeah, I can get
away with it. I'm going to be the one person
that can actually disappear off the face of the earth.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Well.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
I just wondered if maybe there are people who get
away that we don't know get away.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
That Did they ever catch that police officer down in
Louisiana that was on the run for like two weeks.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
The guy that they called all the people that escaped prison, right.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
They did catch the other Like one last guy was
still on the lose. They couldn't catch him.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
I think did they get him?
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Well, now that would be if you're just a guy
who escaped prison, because presumably he didn't have a plan.
Speaker 7 (14:05):
Yeah, but it's only been like what a month, Like
they'll catch them all good.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
I mean if you went a month without getting caught, sure.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
But you're saying, like, do they just never get caught?
They will get caught eventually.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
That's how what I feel. I feel like everybody will
they can solve the crime. Now there are unsolved crimes.
But if they can solve the crime, I feel like
they'll get you. But maybe I'm wrong. I don't know.
That's I'd like to see the TV show on it.

They're over it.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
So that's the way it goes. They they are over it.
By the way, before we uh get to Billy's thing.
Do you see our.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Baseball transfer portal class is ranked number two in the country.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Are they really?
Speaker 3 (15:45):
You know, when the season ended, everybody goes. I had
a lot of people write me and go, what's the
deal with all the baseball players leaving? I guess they
had plans, probably told honestly some of them to leave
because the number.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Two ranked portal.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Now they don't go down because a lot of these
teams in the College World Series will start going and
getting their classes. So we but I mean, I can't
imagine we fall out of the top fifteen. Right, Yeah,
they're fifth right now? I want's say, like, was it
eight editions now and one may fifth?
Speaker 5 (16:11):
And I had several editions As you mentioned, Part of
it is Kentucky season in a little earlier. You got
a head start. But it's still looking like a good
overhaul so far. Plus you've got some guys. I think
you'll be able to keep them put together a good
team next year.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Our portal stuff is pretty uh pretty amazing on a
lot of sports. I mean, we've done better overall in
the football portal than you would think we would do.
We had the number two ranked class in the basketball portal,
did pretty good in the women's basketball portal. Now you've
got a high ranking in the baseball portal. Maybe Kentucky's
just better at recruiting than the portal Ryan than they
(16:45):
are in just regular world.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Ben Gione definitely made a shift. That's what he wanted
to do, just kind of recruit out of the records.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Dold you just do that in baseball. Just go to
the portal.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I think you do. I think you just load up,
replace the guys.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Because you know who's good.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yep, you know he they do have several guys they
have decided to come back. That kind of helps him.
Then you get this good transfer portal class.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
All right.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
So we were doing the we will come to your
KSR comes to you on on Tuesday, or excuse me,
on Thursday. We had people call in from northern Kentucky. Uh, Billy,
you have found the five finalists. You're gonna give us
the five finalists and then we will pick where we
are going to go on Thursday.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
So give us the the choices.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
All right.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Number one, Eric has akay, that's that's a.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Bad microphone mind, is that.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
The women's microphone.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
No, no, very well.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
All right, go to Ryan's microphone. Go to Ryans microphone
because that's.
Speaker 9 (17:37):
A bad always something, okay, okay. So our first option
is Eric. He has a house in Independence, Kentucky. Where's
Independence just south of Cincinnati?
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Doable?
Speaker 10 (17:47):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (17:48):
That he has a full blown arcade, eighteen pinball machines
and it's a nice place to hang.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
So that Eric has a house, eighteen pinball machine.
Speaker 9 (17:58):
And a full blown arcade in his house, So a
lot to do there if you.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Go that is? That is interesting? Hey, what do you
think about eighteen pinball machine?
Speaker 5 (18:09):
Seems like a lot. I feel like two three four?
Is it gonna be allowed? Do we need tokens?
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I get little.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Tickets where I can idea of eighteen eighteen pinball machines?
Speaker 4 (18:22):
All right? What's number two? Number two?
Speaker 9 (18:23):
Stub has a condo in Newport, Kentucky. So you'll have
no problem getting to the game. It's right across the
street from the Red Stadium, so you might as well
walk there. Matt will appreciate this. It is where Licking
River in the Ohio River meet. And besides that he
can accommodate maybe ten to twelve people, So if you'd
like to bring it.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Bring are I appreciate the offer from Stub. I'm a
little worried about someone named Stub. What I mean that
sounds like it sounds like a criminal, doesn't it?
Speaker 7 (18:56):
Already calling our I'm.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Saying he's a criminal. I'm just saying was if you
know anybody named Stumb, you.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
Can't hold it against him. Though he's got fine, Fine.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
That's fine, generous, That is very nice to be right
across from the stadium.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
All right, what's number three?
Speaker 9 (19:11):
Corbin has a house in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He has
not asked his wife yet, but he is still going
through with this. It's ten minutes away from the Red Stadium.
It's he has not asked his wife's any wife, and
he has a five and an eleven year old kid
that will be staring at Matt the entire show.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
No, no, no, we out what if we go to Corbyin's,
but we request that he doesn't ever tell his wife.
We just show up and she finds out when we're
there at ten.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Okay, no, wife doesn't know and five and eleven year
old kids?
Speaker 4 (19:40):
All right, what's the fourth one?
Speaker 9 (19:42):
Matt is in Covington, Kentucky. He is downtown, so another
walk to the game option. He's off of Seventh Street.
This is an apartment though, a good location, next to
a coffee shop and in a bar that you can hit.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Before the game. All right. And then what's the last.
Speaker 9 (19:57):
And our final option is Rick and Alexandre, Kentucky.
Speaker 11 (20:01):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (20:01):
He is ten minutes away from barleycorn Uh. Cliff fan
of the show, and he said he has a great
bourbon collection that he'd like to show you. Twenty five
minutes away from the Red Stadium.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
So that's the farthest one.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yes, all right, So early on and now let Ryan
and back in here for a second. Early on, I
tend to lead toward the guy with the pinball collect
you know, eighteen pinball machines.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
He won me at pinball machines. I didn't have to
hear anything.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Good at pinball feels like something you'd be good.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
At well, like pac Man and Astronot. Back in the day,
I didn't do a lot of pinball stuff. I was
more of the just went to.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
An arcade on Saturday and played pinball a little more,
not going. But if you were picking one, what would
you be?
Speaker 7 (20:41):
Oh, the arcade, pinball machines guy sold right there?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
All right, I'm going to just go ahead and executive
say it. What town is pinball machine?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Guy in Independence? Independent? Is that? How far is that
from the stadium?
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Not far?
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Well?
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Well, okay, but that's Independence Kentucky is okay, that's that's
on the way. It's a little little south, but that's okay.
I'm picking Independence. Isn't that one of the places with
two county seats? Isn't Independence one of two?
Speaker 7 (21:13):
That is very independent?
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Good point of them? Go dependent dependent Kentucky.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
I think that's my fun independence fact, because it's the
only county.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
It's easy that you know that, But I think you're right.
I think I vaguely remember that from the book.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
All right, what county is there? They all kind of
run together up there.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
It's in two perhaps. All right, Independence Kentucky. What's his name? Eric, Independence,
get his contact, give it to Ryan, and we will
come to the house with an arcade in it.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
All right, very much fun.
Speaker 7 (21:50):
I'd want to be there now, that's all.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Well, I know what Mario will do during the show.
So there we go, Independence Kentucky. And if well, I
don't know if we can't invite people to his house
without his permission.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
But we'll learn more about it this afternoon.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
We have to bring our own quarter to the pinball machine.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
I hope he does. I hope it's a money making
thing for him. Big C. What's up?
Speaker 10 (22:13):
How you doing? Guys?
Speaker 8 (22:14):
First caller, a long time listener who.
Speaker 10 (22:19):
This borrow will boo him for going to U of L.
But shouldn't we kind of ask why?
Speaker 8 (22:25):
I mean, he's an insider right of UK football?
Speaker 1 (22:29):
What's he know that we don't know?
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Well?
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Everything I've heard, and this comes from people on the
UK side, people on the VENT side, media members, I
think everybody's kind of saying the same thing. He had
kind of lost some of his authority in recruiting. He
had kind of in the fallen a little bit on
the chart of who was being listened to. He didn't
(22:54):
like that, and then Louisville offered him a three year
guaranteed deal. Kentucky was not going to do that, and
Justin Rowland said something which I can't I mean, I'm
not saying Justin's wrong, but Justin seemed to suggest that
Vince would get a percentage of the money he brings
in for nil.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Thank y rage is it?
Speaker 5 (23:16):
I wouldn't think so, but you know by Justin weren't
put out there if he didn't think it's true.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
That's an interesting idea. I can't imagine that's true, but
I think that's ultimately what it was. We'll be right back. TJ. Smith,
personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio AF. I'm nine two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven
two seven seven four five two five four. Independence is
in Kenton County. It shares the county seat with Covington.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
You're right, see I know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Sometimes on top of the county seat in Pendance in
the other if two courthouses.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
I don't know that much about it. I just recognize
the name as one of the two.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Nineteen ninety five Shannon Independence only had ten thousand people.
In twenty twenty five, they say they have thirty three
thousand people.
Speaker 7 (24:10):
Wow, a lot of growth has happened.
Speaker 12 (24:12):
I's like all the suburbs of Cincinnati even more and
more south and So there's a Kentucky player from independence,
Ryan Lemon, do you know who the Kentucky player that
has not currently on the team but in UH, let's
say since nineteen listen, in my lifetime, there's one Kentucky
(24:32):
player from Independence Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Can Ryan Lemon get the who is the Kentucky player
from independence Kentucky?
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I'm gonna go with Mark Krebbs.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Mark Krebbs is not from UH. I'll give you three guesses.
This is not an easy one.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, wow, from northern Kentucky from independence. Todd's forboda No
Number three? Oh, I will say close really hesitation in
that noe a hesitation and they know you're close?
Speaker 4 (25:03):
Can you get now use the hint you are close
with Todd? Samoa, Todd May Who's that?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
I thought that was a guy played at UK in
the eighties, Todd.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
McKinley.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Oh, I wouldn't have got that. I wouldn't have got that.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
Well, you were close, you got Todd. That's pretty good
half crowd Todd. So if anybody knows any facts about independence,
let me know. One person writes, Matt, what do you
think about Steven A. Smith getting caught playing solitaire during
the NBA Finals game. Do you think that is a
bad look for him? Yeah, so people didn't see the
(25:43):
games going on and he's playing Solitaire with the game
going on, and it led a lot of Stephen A
critics to say, clearly, he doesn't pay attention to the game.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
What do you think it's pretty bad look. You know,
people have been on their phones at games before. It's
not the end of the world. I don't think it
affects how uh, how he can give his analysis, but
it did look ridiculous the image of him holding up
Solitaire while the action's going on in front of him.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Your guy who takes a book to a Reds game.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
So you've done that halftime show and the and the
postgame show on TV. I'm I'm not yet what that's
the difference now. I'm not gonna act like I haven't
been at a game and gotten bored and.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Looked at a web page, like at a website or
something or on my phone media. I mean, I'm not
going to act like it.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
I think that I would be surprised if anyone that's
ever been to a game has not been on social
media or something during the game. I think the solitaire thing, though,
makes it look worse because Solitaire is the most mindless
of activities, Shannon, Solitaire is like I my brain is
so uninterested in what is happening, I'm going to sit
(26:55):
there and play cards. So I actually think it's the
fact that he played Solitaire that makes it look so
much worse than it is being on his phone.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yeah, it's a time commitment to right. I mean, you
don't play Solitaire full game in a time out. It's
gonna be fifteen to twenty shows.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
The game is going on while he's doing.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
I guarantee if his New York Knicks were playing, he
wouldn't be playing Solitaire. So yeah, I think it is
a bad look that he has to come on in
the air and talk about this and he's not even
watching the game.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
But Ryan, bad luck, bad look.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
You know, it's not the Jazz and the Pelicans, it's
the NBA Finals. You got to talk about it. Your
career depends on it. But maybe you know, I see
he's commercial time. You get paid for playing Solitaire. Now
maybe he's needs to get paid.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Yeah, what do you mean they get paid to play Solitaire?
Speaker 1 (27:39):
You haven't seen that on your algorithm? You get solitaire
cow it's just.
Speaker 11 (27:46):
Here.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
That is a scheme. Yeah, you are going to follow
fall four.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
They can make up the two hundreds a week playing solitaire.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
You cannot take two hundred dollars a week playing solitaire.
There you do, you fall for every scam.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
I haven't done that one yet, but it does sound
pretty appealing. And it's play.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
You've fallen for a scam recently, haven't you.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Uh, it's been a minute. I'm due for one point.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
There comes a point where when you.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Oh, I almost got arrested.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
I thought, okay, here we go. I almost got arrested.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
About that?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Like he just said, I almost got arrested, Like that
was sit and that was just a throwaway. Okay, So
tell me how you almost got.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
I'm pulling into execy train to go to work one
afternoon and I got a call recent Yes, I've got
to tell you about it. And I got a call
from a sheriff's deputy who wanted to know why I've
not been showing up for jury duty. Like I didn't
know I had jury duty. Said, yes, you signed a
document back in February where you agreed to show up
for jury duty, and now we have a warrant out
for your arrest, which carries a fine, Like.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
I have a warrant out for your arrest.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
It's not showing up for jury duty. So then the
sheriff's deputy put me on phone with his supervisor, Sergeant Green.
I think, but they would think that helps. But they're
making it like real official.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Why it's not real? Oh wait a minute, Oh this
was the case. Yes, okay, so keep going.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
So then they say, you know, you have to come
down here to the courthouse right now to clear this
up or there will be you will be arrested later today.
I'm like, oh, well, I'm going into work.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
First of all, was this an unknown number?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Private numbers?
Speaker 4 (29:25):
It was private? Why did you answer?
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Well, like I get calls from Dante sometimes from his
when he's a work phone, it's probably says private number.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
OK, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
So I answered the phone. So they, you know, they
drug it out for like ten minutes, and like you know,
I said, I need to go tell my boss because
when you can't hang up, you hang up, we consider
that you're fleeing and we will come after you.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
There.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
That was the first red flag.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Do you think that the police say don't hang up?
Speaker 1 (29:48):
First red flag?
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Then they say you have to come down here and
you have to pay a fine.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Uh and where did they say to come down?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Come down to the Sheriff's deputy office. I said, where
is the sheriffs deputy office? They gave me, uh an
address close to Trancy. I'm like red flag number two.
I don't think the Sheriff's deputy office is over by Trancy.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
And then they said, well, you can pay for it
over the phone.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Well that should have been right there.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
I know what police officer do you think says you
can pay for things over the phone.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
So that's why I said, that's not how this works.
I said, I'm gonna call the Sheriff's department myself. This
is the shriff's part. You're talking to your and I said,
your name is Sergeant Green.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Click.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
So I called the Sheriff's department. They said it's before
I even got it the story out. It's a scam.
They're calling people. It's a scam. But but they really
had it as an elaborate scheme where you know, I'm
talking to a trooper, I mean a shriff's deputy. Then
I'm talking to this and they knew they knew a lot.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
They knew what did they know?
Speaker 1 (30:42):
They knew your name?
Speaker 4 (30:45):
What else did They said?
Speaker 1 (30:46):
We came to your house. Well, I won't give the address.
We came to your house at Blake, Mike Blake, Mike Blanke,
and you signed it. And I'm thinking to myself.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
But you should have known whether you did that.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
I know I didn't. I can see Gavin like being
their house.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Say your son signs your name for jury.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
If a sheriff's deputy shows up and they need you
a legal signature, I can I can sign. I can
see him doing it.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
You think your son, You don't tell your son don't
sign my name to documents that the sheriff comes in.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
I need to have that conversation with him.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
But I, well, you didn't do it. He didn't do it, Okay.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
But I did it? Did It didn't cross my mind
that probably he did.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
I mean, that's shaking.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
But like they had me convinced about tim Inn protect
you forever. Yeah, for two days that week and I
were like you just you fall for things I did.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
Why what calls were you to actually paying? Oh?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
I wasn't gonna pay, but I was close to driving
down there.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
You were gonna drive to Trancy. Yeah, what would have
tipped you off that it wasn't the sheriff's office when
it was someone's house.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I really thought they had like some substation down there.
Substation huh that I didn't know about substation at Indies
on Third Street or something down there. It was crazy.
I mean they were so convincing. He was really good.
I can see why people fall for it all the time.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Shannon, Yeah, Ryan, come on man scene to remember.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Didn't Ryan actually have a warrant out for his arrest
years ago and we talked about this on the show?
Speaker 7 (32:12):
Or Am I just making that up?
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Ryan? This might have been something Ryan told you on
spring break?
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Maybe so okay, because I thought I don't remember that
one happened.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
Yeah, Man, I worked.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Like miss jury duty, going to get arrested or pay
a fine.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
There's a scam going around now trying to get people
to pay like tolls and stuff and say.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
I get that one all the time. You just have
to ignore it.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
I mean, one time, the closest I came to fight
one of those is someone called me and said I
had a tax like I had not paid something in tax. Yeah,
like three hundred dollars or something, and I was like,
you know, I'm disorganized.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
I probably didn't pay.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
I could see myself having not done it, and I said,
but I was like, I'm not paying over the phone.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I was like, send me a document. They're like, this
will be over the phone. If you don't do it,
know the phone will be six hundred dollars. And then
I remembered something somebody said to me a long time ago,
which is the irs doesn't we'll never call you to
pay over the phone. And I was like, and so
I hung up. But they did get me for a minute. Yeah,
but I wouldn't have thought that. It was like on
Third Street, the Sheriff's office.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Well, they had me. I was ready to fly down
there to take care of Here's the thing, though, if
I paid over the phone, I would get reimbursed when
I came back to the state, came down to the station, you.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Would get reimbursed.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
Wait a minute, they want you to pay over the phone,
and then if you went to the station, they give
you the money back.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
If I could clear it up, if I could get
it all cleared up, clear it up, yeah, I would
get reimbursed. Like that's not how this works.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Stockton Mortgage go ahead tell people about fight in.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Stockton Mortgage ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 4 (33:49):

I'm already giving a lot of people telling me they've
had the same thing happened not showing up for jury duty,
the same exact same scam.
Speaker 11 (34:26):
Man.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
I'm telling you it's so good they get that they
switch guys on you in the middle of the conversation.
The sheriff's deputy switch to his sergeant bad cop. Oh, yeah,
they gave me their badge numbers. Wow, so I gave
your badge Did you look them up. No, but I
was in the cost I wrote it all. I was
in the parking lot. I wrote everything down.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Everyone. Poor Ryan.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Can I just give him a hug? He's gonna end
up giving everything of his away exactly.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Yes, we'll be right back, all right. Few things. First
of all, Troy McKinley, not Todd McKinley. Troy McKinley, My bad,
Sorry Troy. I think he was a police officer here
in Lexington. Pay time two. You did have an arrest
war you skipped the court date.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
I remember that, Shannon's right, because you realized that when
we were like in Danville or something, and then you
thought you were gonna get it.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Some didn't. Some police officer come.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Tell you somebody at our show in Danville.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
That's right, somebody in Danville said you have a arrest
warrant out for you this morning.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
To see I knew Channon was right.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Good memory memory.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
That's right. A couple other things, but first of state renovations.
Most people hear the word remodel and immediately think stress contractors,
that ghost you, prices that change halfway through. But the
state renovations is different. That's why we are growing. They
do it differently. You get a full team, a designer
who picks out every detail, and a project manager who
helps thing run smoothly. Again, a lot of KSR folks
(35:47):
have been using this for painting, flooring, trim or fixtures
mentioned KSR and get half off your design agreement. A
state renos dot com. That's a stateri n os dot com.
Renos is in renovations. One person writes, why did Ryan
think that he had to warrant? Everyone knows where he
is from ten to noon. He would have already been
(36:07):
arrested decent point.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Maybe the sheriff's deputy was a Litill fan.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
No matter.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Another person writes, my wife got scammed out of seventeen
hundred dollars with the same.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Thing, seventeen hundred. Mine was like two thousands, like twenty
one hundred. I think are going like it was two
thousand a day.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Elation scam, inflation scam inflation.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Well, like I told you during the break, they were
very respectful. They called me sir, so they were very
respectful criminals.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
One person writes, Matt, just so you know, these scam
artists have a registry and when they see someone close
who nearly falls for it, and then gets off. They
will try again soon. Tell Ryan not to or tell Ryan.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
To be careful.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Gotcha, I'm on it.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Just don't answer your phone. Tell Dante to call you
from a different number. You know, there's only one. There's
only one person I've ever known that called me from
a number that didn't show up.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Yeah, Vince Meryl, Really, what does it say on your screen?
Speaker 4 (37:04):
No caller? I d no caller ID every time. He's
the only one, like so when I saw no caller ID,
I knew it was him.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Well, the only time that ever shows up for me
is when Dante calls him an office numbers, his private number,
private number.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
And I don't even know how he did it.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
He was the only person he's still like still now
it always says no caller. Usually I would not answer
and then trying back because I like, I don't answer
if I don't know the number.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Ye don't They say like likely scam? Now likely? And Ryan,
it just goes on, I mean just likely. It's not exactly.
Speaker 6 (37:38):
Go ahead, Harold, yes, the first time caller?
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Who are thank you?
Speaker 6 (37:46):
And has anyone else been bothered by the Murray game
last Saturday? It was a naturalers kept Mary instead of Murray.
Seems like someone should have correctly.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Oh did they really? They called him Mary State.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
One guy would say Murray. The other guy would say, Mariya,
are you thinking about Mary Wills?
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Yeah? I did. I had it on mute.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
I had the game on, but I had it on mute,
so I didn't see that. Well, you know, play Arkansas
today to appreciate to call it. Be nice to get
one beat. Beat col and the Hogs there right two o'clock.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
They're plus three forty on the money line over a DraftKings.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
I'll be tuned in saying go Racers all day. See
Louisville when.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
They played Oregon State, the catcher tried to throw the
ball and he lost it.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Yeah, you see that?
Speaker 1 (38:40):
I saw that?
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Did you see that? Shannon Ye catcher and he was like,
where did go that?
Speaker 10 (38:45):
Was?
Speaker 4 (38:46):
You ever seen that before?
Speaker 1 (38:46):
I've seen it before. Yeah. They tried to you know,
that quick release, get it up to their throwing hand
and mishandle it.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
But then he like he did. He didn'tized that he
hadn't thrown it. He was just kind of looking around,
where the heck did it go? Cindy, Go ahead, Cindy, Hey,
this is Cindy.
Speaker 10 (39:02):
I'm one of the proud members of Ladies of ks Are.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
We'll call it.
Speaker 10 (39:06):
Oh, thank you Anna. Maria Island today looking out at
the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, and I have a question
for you. I know Vince is gone. Let's move on.
What is your prediction for the UK basketball SEC records
based on the level of knowledge you have?
Speaker 4 (39:25):
Yeah, they haven't released the full schedule yet.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
I appreciate the call, So I don't know where we
play home in a way yet. Just off the top
of my head, I'm going to say fourteen and four.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
That's a good guess. That's what I was going to say.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
What do you think I was gonna say they'll lose
three or four. I don't want to be the same.
I'll say it's getting pretty confident with three. I'll say
fifteen to three.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Fifteen and three.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
They're going to contend they'll be in the conversation to
win the regular season this year for the first don't.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Think we lose a home game. I think I think
we win all the home games, and I think we
in basically what we go five and four on the road.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
They'll probably have his played Florida twice. You think Florida,
it's already happened. I think they are. They're saying that,
By the way, there is a sheriff's office on Third Street. See,
I wasn't surprised. I thought there's something like remote office there.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Don't let your guard down, don't start giving in now,
there's gonna be more scams coming.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
They had me until they said I had to pay
over the phone.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Well, I mean that's how they have to get you though.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
They reel you in, they slowly will you in.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
You start to go, well, I mean maybe I am arrested. Yeah, maybe, Gavin,
you literally convince yourself. Gavin signed your I mean.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
I can see a police officer show up to my
door here.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
Even it's smarter than that. Gavin would not have done
for jury. Dude, you have to do a lot more
than just sign. Is smarter than that.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
The police officers up to the door. He's like, oh, okay,
whatever you say, sir, Yes, sir, the.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Teacher's son that he has rights, Yeah, you have rights.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
But if I disconnected that call, they were gonna thought
of a flean and evading, and they're going to come
after me.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
I heard Kyle go ahead, Kyle, Hey.
Speaker 8 (41:06):
I was raised in Independence, Kentucky, and I was gonna
correct you. That was Troy McKinley, not Todd McKinley.
Speaker 11 (41:13):

eighty one, he went to sim McKinnon and the school
actually blew up and a student passed away, and Simon.

Kinnen ended up went in the.
Speaker 11 (41:26):

Speaker 1 (41:58):
I'd heard that story. I didn't realize it was the
same year that Troy McKinley and then won the state title.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
See there you go. That's part of why going around
like this is nice. We're gonna learn about Independence.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
You know, Northern Kentucky, I've said, is the part of
the state I know the least because I can't differentiate.
The only thing I know is Villa Hills because that's
where Tall lives. But besides that, I don't really know
the rest of it.
Speaker 4 (42:16):
Uh. By the way, the guy's name is Eric, right,
the guy that won. It's not Eric Dieters, the guy
that ran for governor. Apparently he lives. We're not going
to his house. Listen. That's a guy that would have
eighteen pinball machines.
Speaker 8 (42:31):
Don't.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
You can back to He's like, he's threatened my life,
so I cannot go to Eric Dieters house. I'll find out,
but he does live in Independence, Kentucky. If you got
