you said, you're driving down for sales Road ninety nine
percent of people have no idea.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
This is out here off Paines Mill Road.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
The first horse just got on the track a week
ago because the weather kind of lay their contraction.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
So that's how new this facility is.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
They've got expansion plans coming up while a horse barns
up already. They're gonna build horse barns in the back
on the side. It's gonna be massive when they get finished.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
All right, So let me first of all, if you

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Cannot only get free gourmet bites or front some gourmet bites,
not free food trucks. Kids can play with inflatables, and
there are some Kentucky artists playing, George Molten and then
Kyle Eldridge and the Kentucky Cowhans, which is a good name.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
You know.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
We have the Appalachian Heathens from Middlesborough and America's got
talent and now you got the cow Hans here at
High Bramble Park.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
It's gonna be a huge day Saturday out here as
part of the Woodford County Fair.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Twenty eight races they're gonna have out here on there.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
It's a lot of race. It's twenty eight races.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
That's a lot of races.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Where are all these horses are?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
They just gonna have the same horses race twenty eight
times and see which one can hang in there.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
They're in the training room right now getting rubbed down,
an ice treatment and massage.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
They're gonna need it.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
We're twenty eight races on Saturday, the Woodford County Fair,
Woodford County Fair leg of the Kentucky Proud Series. You
know OVW Wrestling. We've done the Woodford County Fair a lot.
It's always been a good event. And this weekend part
of the fourth of July.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
We know, like really right now in Kentucky. The only
harness racing that is active is it Red Mile?
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Is there none? I don't think that's right.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
There's other there's like the they said Marion County Fair
has theirs is one down in western Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Uh, clo the So then why'd you say Grove?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Why'd you say it was the only was the Man
of War?
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Because the one a Red Miles kind of the main
harness in Kentucky. This one's gonna be like a rival facility.
And I think this one's gonna be bigger and better
than that one.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Oh arrival, Yes, look at you starting the rivalry already.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Well you know if Red Miles number one right now,
guess what high Ramble Park's coming?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
I'm coming after park? All right. Well, we got free coffee.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
We got free donuts here as well today, So come
on out and see us. Just turn on paynes Mill Road.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Ryan.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Uh. Last night I told you I drove.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
I drove from New York City back to Kentucky, which
is a long drive.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
And and I actually had to get back in time
to do ESPN at seven o'clock at night. So that
was drove a little bit of it. The night before
went to Hagar'stown, Maryland. Not the most beautiful city in
the world. It is a city, but.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
UH drove through massive rainstorms.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
West Virginia has been under construction since nineteen eighty three
and is still under construction.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
They seem to never get it fixed.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
But UH pulled in, got here, did ESPN last night,
and now happy to be with you today.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
I was actually a little worried about you because the
weather was so bad, awful they canceled all the flood
of the flights in Philadelphia, New York were being canceled,
and I thought, I thought you kind of flew up there.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
I didn't know you drove.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah, about you going back for today, I was I
had other plans, but you know what, we had to
make it to High Bradble Park.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
So we did right, But but.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
It was that's a beautiful drive, but it is not
beautiful when it is absolutely pouring rain.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Lead.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
You saw a couple accidents, even.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yeah, I saw one one bad accident. Got CP crawled
through the window to get out.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I went over.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
It was I mean, the guy looks like he's okay,
so I can say it's funny. Now he wrecks in
front of me. He like he tries to merge over,
there's somebody there, so he kind of loses control of
his car and he flips. And when you see it,
I was like, oh no, So it's pouring rain, right,
and uh, I'm I'm about to pass it, and the
(06:02):
car's there, and I'm thinking, well, I mean, you can't
just leave the car like you gotta be like a
good citizen. He's in that car, he or she and
it doesn't look good and it had a trailer on
the back.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
So I pull over.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
But then it occurs to me when I get to
the car, I'm gonna have no idea what to do,
Like there's gonna be I'm really not gonna be able
to help the situation at all. And then as I'm
walking up to the car, rain pouring down, dude like
climbs out of the of the the passing of the
driver's window and and he's fine except for the fact
(06:35):
that he just wrecked his car.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Need to think his guardian Angel, could it sound like
that was awful? That's us A good situations do end
very very badly, all right.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
So we have a lot of stuff we want to
get to, but first I want to bring uh, Mario.
Up here, Mario, I want you to come here, because
this is the first story I think is undoubtedly I
need a young person on the show moment. Uh So,
yesterday I get these little news alerts on my phone
and a news alert comes that says YouTube basketball sensation
(07:07):
Jesser to join lah Familia for the TBT tournament. And
lots of those words did not mean anything to me.
I don't know what it means to be a YouTube
basketball sensation, and I don't know who Jesser is. But
I've learned that Jesser is a twenty six year old
YouTube star with thirty one million followers, and he is
(07:30):
going to play with the Kentucky Alumni basketball team. Now
you are also that age. Were you excited to hear
about Jesser?
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yes, I was.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
I was surprised a little bit at first, but overall, man,
I'm exed. I'm really ecstatic to see him in a
lat familiar jersey. It's gonna be incredible.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Now, I'm gonna guess ninety five percent of the people
listening to show either don't know who he is, or
if they do, don't understand why he's on the team.
So explain to explain to old people what it is
that Jesser why it matter?
Speaker 6 (08:01):
Well, first, first of all, he's not a professional basketball player, but.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
He could ball. The more reason did not be on
the team. He can ball a little bit.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
Okay, that's more than the average person, I would say,
I would hope. So I think lot Familia's way of
bringing him in was more of an exposure thing. They
want to use his following. They know that, you know
him just being there.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
So he's not good at basketball. He's not terrible. I
mean that's not a good sign.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Terrible compared to the guys on Lat Familia, He's I'm
not gonna say he's as.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Good as the Harrison Twins.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
No, No, is he as good as anyone on the team.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Probably not.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
No, he's a level lower. I would say he's a
level now.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
He did play in the NBA Celebrity All Star Game.
I saw him take king the hoop.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
He took Kane Brown to the hoop.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Okay, all right, So I mean, well I didn't realize
he took Okay, sorry, let me take it back.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
So what will he do on the team. Will he
get to play? Of course?
Speaker 4 (08:59):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Of course? He just said he wasn't good.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
I mean when they're up by twenty, like, they might
throw him in for the ELI ending.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
You know, have have you know? I think that's something different.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
No, they they don't have him ending. They'll have him
in there, you know, they might sub him in. Who
knows if he competes Shoanwoods.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Might play him. I don't, I don't know. Okay, all right,
So what is he famous for?
Speaker 6 (09:23):
So he does he's a content creator on YouTube. He
does all sorts of videos.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
But like, what what does he do? He does? He
have a talent.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Content creation. He's created, but that's not a talent. What
does he do in the content?
Speaker 2 (09:36):
He is?
Speaker 6 (09:37):
His personality. I would say little kids love him. I've
heard that, but I'm gonna ask you again what does
he do? And what does he talks about stuff? It's
really his personality. He has, you know, a bright personality
that you.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Like it and you think it's a good addition. I
think it's a great addition, Ryan to you? Does it
bother you at all? That this is love familiar?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
The Kentucky basket ball team and we have Jesser the
YouTube star.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I ask you before we started, should I be embarrassed?
I don't know who Jesser is.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Shit.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Well, let me ask you, be honest, how many people
in here when they heard the announcement yesterday knew who
Jesser was. Hey, here he is two people? Three people?
All right, so three people knew who he was. That's
that sort of confirms my ninety five percent wouldn't. So no,
I didn't know either.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Well, Shawn Woods was on the show yesterday and he
hinted and kind of teased us there was another guy
getting ready to come out.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
So I was getting all these messages.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
I hope's John wall I hope it's Booky Cousins Hopus,
Darius Miller, and it's a guy YouTube star that I've
never heard of in my life.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Okay, so bad thing. I think it's gonna be great, man,
you think it's gonna be great. I think it's gonna
be great. Oh, we're gonna be in no seats. Okay.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
So they offered, just so you know, law Familia offered
us to have Jesser on the show today, and I said,
I'd like to have Jesster on the show, but I'm
gonna need some time to learn what to say to this.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Person or or who he is, so we couldn't do
it today.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
So when I have Jesser on the show, Mario, what
in the world am I'm going.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
To ask this kid?
Speaker 6 (11:07):
You ask him how does it feel to to First
of all, you ask him, how did this happen?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
How? How did you do? You know how it happened?
You're the city, You're the person that has all that infu.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
I know he has connections with Willie Cauley.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
Style their friends.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
So apparently he and Willie Colley Stein play video games together, right,
they do videos.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
He's had him on a newrost amounts of videos of
that Jesser has made.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
So okay, they have a big and then what else
would you ask Jesser since you're the one that told
me to have him.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
On, Yeah, I would ask him, like, what's your goal
at do you think are you here to compete? Are
you gonna be like like trying to obviously play? I
know you everybody wants to play for this one million
dollar prize, but like, so do you think of get minutes?
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Let me ask you this, is it good for UK
basketball that he will be on Do you think it
will make it'll.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
Get Yeah, it's great. It's something different it's something different
that has I was telling Billy earlier, I said, when's
the last time we had a content creator suit up
in a TVT tournament game.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
That's history, though, Man, I love it's history.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
Listen to you.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
It's it's something tournament's issue.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
It's been around for like four years, and.
Speaker 6 (12:10):
They're they're doing They're killing it. Man, they're keeping there.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
This is history. Do you feel it? Do you feel
the history? No, not at all.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Obviously they've got their squad.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
This guy goes it's the greatest moment in UK basketball history,
has surpassed the twenty ten NBA Draft to become the
greatest moment in the UK basketball Okay, well, I'm glad
you're here to give us that info. Uh and and Ryan,
this will be I do think I saw videos last
(12:40):
night on TikTok of kids excited that he's on it.
And so if kids like it and and it'll do
like make UK fans that are kids excited, then that
I'm talking.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
I think you should watch some of his videos on
I won't.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
I won't, but I saw one yesterday I think it
was he had he took a bunch of like elementary
school kids and he played a bunch of senior citizens
in a game of basketball, and he was like.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Actually content, Yeah, really they had kids play senior citizens.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Huh yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
He was like in the middle of it and kind
of commentating during the game.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Well, I'd be honest with you, that does sound interesting
to me. Who won? I didn't watch that much of it.
I didn't go then there you go. You know what
you watch the night? You know what You've won?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Me over?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Little kids versus old people in a basketball game sounds
actually really fascinating to me.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
How old are we talking?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
They were elementary kids?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Were the senior citizens?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Oh they were.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Probably in their sixties and seventies. They were a lot
of them were gray. But they were talking smack with
each other.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
All right, now, this sounds great. I have completely flipped
on jess little kids versus senior.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Citizens basketball game?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Does he are most of his content surrounded basketball for.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
The most part? NBA two K you know basketball? Yeah,
I would say that.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
All right, Well, all right, well so UK basketball continuing
the tradition of being on the forefront of everything. Thank
you very much, Mario. I appreciate. Now that's not the
only in which yeah, I give him a round of
the balls. That's not the only way Mario's gonna go
ride around on a horse or on a horse and sussy, sulky, sulky.
(14:15):
Mitch Bardenhart gave an interview yesterday that did not get
a lot of attention that I think is actually very
interesting talking about the future of UK sports. And I
know sometimes talking about the money and all that is boring,
but I do want to talk about what he said
because I was surprised by it and I think it'll
be important going forward. We will do that here at
High Bramble Park in for sales. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Wa. I'm back.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at High Bramble Park.
Perfect day for a live show, outdoors, not too hot.
We're under a tent, got merchandise, got food. Mario's about
to get on a sulky. He is on a sulky
right now. He's gonna take a ride around the around
the track. That's kind of exciting.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Isn't it ever done that You've ever been in a
sulky on a horness race?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Horness on a horness race, no, or a harness race. No,
it is I have not looks kind of fun. How
fast do they go?
Speaker 4 (15:10):
That's it. That's pretty much it. And there you know,
there's pacers and there's trotters. They're trying to tell me.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Pacers lead with their left leg in front four at
the same time. Trotters do opposite leg at a time.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I like watching you act it out. So are these
pacers or are these trotter?
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Okay, so they have both. They have both, they have both.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
I don't know that one. Looks like that's got to
be to trotter.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Wow, they're making some speed.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Mario when he when he grew up in New York,
I bet that's what he not he would be doing
at some point eight five nine two eighth twenty two
eighty seven, text machine seven seven two seven seven four
five two five four one of before we go to
the phones, I want to read one thing, all right.
So Mitch Barnhart did an interview with CBS where they
asked him about this whole Champions Blue.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Thing that he started, the kind of new.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Private entity that they're doing for UK athletics, and apparently
a lot he was kind of on the forefront of this,
and a lot of colleges are trying to decide whether
to copy, but let me give you. I'm gonna give
you some quotes that I think fans will find interesting
and maybe, like Mitch Barnhart said, you know, look, we
got to raise twenty point five million dollars in revenue
(16:18):
to pay these players now, and it's different than what
it used to be.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
And here's what they said.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
We are not going to our fan base and saying hey,
our expenses have gone up, we need more money. That
is not fair to our fan base. And frankly, it's
not going to be viable in our state. Our opportunities
because of population are not as many. So they have
decided to do and he says public private partnerships will
be really important for us. We're going to take the
(16:46):
area around our football stadium and there are opportunities in
that land space for us to do things to create
a relationship with local businesses that want to be a
part of US business. Because businesses can incorporate our football itself.
There are opportunities for hotel, motel lodging. We don't have
any on campus now, and they can partner and make
(17:08):
it happen around the football stadium. There also can be
restaurants and shopping and this is a way for us
to raise revenue in order to meet the new requirements,
potentially hotels, motels around the stadium, restaurants and shopping. That
land is owned by UK and basically UK athletics, and
they're saying we will create a commercial situation that basically
(17:33):
funds these increased costs of UK Athletics.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
What do you make of that?
Speaker 5 (17:36):
I understand they have to raise this money somehow. I mean,
they've got to do something right. But immediately I'm hearing
fans like, man, they're just taking more of our tailgate
space away as well, you know, more and more of
it just keep disappearing, disapreeing. That's why I go to
the UK football game to tailgate visit with my family
and friends and then go to the game.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
And they're keep taking it away from us.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
So what would be better? I mean, I will say
I'm very skeptical. I think I tell actually on campus
will do really well. I Mean, one of the odd
things about about University of Kentucky is our hotels are
not really close to the campus at all. They're either
downtown or they're out on the edges of town. That
(18:14):
hotel next to Cass Bar, that Holiday Inn is like
the only hotel that's anywhere close to campus, So actually
thinking of having a hotel, I actually think that can
really work. I'm very skeptical about how whether restaurants can
work there for a variety of reasons.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
But what else do we want them to do if
we don't want them to raise ticket prices?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
I agree with you about the tailgate scene, but I'll
be honest with you, I think they already ruined that,
and I don't think it's coming back like I think
they the day they took that grass out, and they
ain't gonna all of a sudden go, why don't we
just start taking less parking spots and putting grass.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
In the day they took that out, they ruined it.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
If they're going to ruin it, how about we at
least make something for people to do over there. I
guess I understand that that's better than raising ticket prices,
isn't it.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (19:01):
I think I said they've they've they've got to do something,
and we've seen it work. Like you know, the Reds
have that kind of their little area close to the stadium.
The Cardinals have something outside of Bush Stadium.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
But the problem for Kentucky football is so the Reds
have that area of the stadium. But guess how many
home games you have a year for the Reds a
lot more. You have eighty one home games, then you
have another ten Bengals games. Now you're at ninety one
UK football games. The basketball arena is not in the
same place, right, so what you at Tennessee the basketball
(19:31):
arena and the football stadium are close enough next to
each other you can work. But yeah, I mean there's
at Kama Stadium, there's eight games a year at most.
This year there's only seven. He did say he wants
to have more concerts like Tyler Childers, that they would
bring in more and more concerts. That's good, you know, I.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
Kind of I lovely what Kentucky's doing with their athletic complex,
with the baseball field, the soft faull field, the soccer field,
the football field all kind of there together, But there's
not a lot of area for like, you know, student
use that area for parking. You know, you keep taking
that stuff away, it's just gonna get kind of more
more of a lockjam during on game days.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
What I took away from Barnhart's interview is that all
of US with UK fans have to realize Kentucky, the university,
has a choice if they want to compete in sports.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
He's right, we're not a big enough state, like we're
not Ohio state.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
We can't just we don't have twenty million people that
live in the state, right, we have to figure out
creative ways. I don't know if this will be what
will work or not, but I do like that they're
trying something. You know, what's our population of Kentucky, Just
for comparison's sake, what's the population. It's like six five
and a half million, four point five.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Okay. Do you know what the population of New York
City is?
Speaker 3 (20:47):
It's eight million, right, so that's one city that has
almost double the population of US.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
If we are going to be able to compete, they're
gonna have to do things like this. You said it.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
They have to do something.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
And you don't want to raise ticket prizes and keep
gouging there our fan base, you know, donate more money,
more money, more money. They have to do something, and
maybe this may be the only option they've got.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
I do appreciate Barnhart, to me, was always behind on
an aisle. I do appreciate that now it's in. They
are like, we're going to be the leader, We're not
gonna be a follower. And I actually think that's positive.
Who's up next, Kelly, Kelly, Go ahead, Kelly.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
Hey head two quick pair of two quick questions, one
para feel. So I'm going to the Kentucky Gonzaga game
in Nashville. Yeah, and I was planning on wearing a
hoodie down there. But the hoodie has the checkerboard emblem
on it.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
If it's all you got, If it's all you got,
I'm okay with it.
Speaker 8 (21:44):
But if you can get something that it's the best
quality that I have, Yeah, Well you got.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
To decide do you want to have good quality or
do you want to look like a dork. It's up
to you. It's up to you. No, I'm just kidding. Listen.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
The checkerboard is fine. It's it's it's now that it's
not the official uniforms. The shirt can almost be retro.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
So I'm good with it. What's your other question?
Speaker 8 (22:06):
If you if you saw the rest of my attire,
you would know I've never really shot away from looking
like a dork. The other thing is right right. The
other thing is I root for the Cleveland Browns in
football in addition to Kentucky. Both of those teams are
probably gonna suck this year.
Speaker 9 (22:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (22:24):
Is it a fair or is this foul to adopt
the Buffalo Bills as my second favorite team given that
they have Hairston Walker and David Well.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I mean, you can root for those guys, but if
you're gonna My view is if you're gonna adopt the
new team, they gotta stink when you adopt them. You
cannot adopt the team when they're doing well and the
Bills are good now. So can you root for the
UK guys, Yes, but you cannot be a Bills fan.
You got to adopt the team.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
That's exactly right. Be right back.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Quarterback Tucky Sports Radio. Here
hide Bramble Park, Saturday, twelve thirty. Bring your family. It
is free and open the public. The grand opening of
the harness racing track here in Woodford County and for sales.
It's going to be a beautiful place already great Mario
(23:14):
and Billy been riding around on a Sussey yep and
sulky sulky and uh it's a beautiful day.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Not too hot yet fake.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
David Beckham just let me know that UK raise their
prices on football and basketball tickets today. So the timing
for me saying they wouldn't do that was not great,
but I wasn't. I wasn't aware of that, So I mean,
some of that's probably to be expected.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
But if we'll we'll see.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
I don't know that raising tickets on football this year
is the greatest decision in the world, but we'll find out.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
So when you're telling the story, I meanly started thinking
where are they going to do this. They want to
build it by the stadium.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Okay, I can't really picture where it's going to be either,
I mean without just taking the entire.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
I mean if it were my money, okay, were my money.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Having been in the restaurant business and in the restaurant business,
I would not want to put a restaurant where they're going.
I definitely would want to put a hotel because I
do think a hotel would kill it right there. I
mean I think a hotel just like when parents come
and visit their kids, you know, just that football back like,
I think a hotel there. The city could use a
(24:23):
hotel there. Any First of all, there's not a hotel
rooms in the city to begin with, and then you
put some there, I think that would kill it.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
You know, they had that hotel there at the corner
of Waller and Nicholas Field Road, but they closed many
many years ago, So you're right, there's really nothing around
the area.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
It's a different city now than it was there.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Absolutely, you know, it's it's.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
A little bit of different city. By the way, we
do have some breaking news. This isn't.
Speaker 9 (24:44):
This.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I'm not this is okay. I tell I was gonna
not do that for this one.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
But uh, Pump p Diddy found guilty on two of
the five counts in his federal charges. The two he's
found guilty of prostitution related charges, but the more serious ones,
the ones that could have kept him in jail for
the rest of his life, were acketeering and a couple
of the others he's actually found not guilty of.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
So probably for him, a little bit of a win
could have been a lot worse.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Kind of had a cliffhanger. Yesterday they came back said
that we've got a verdict on four of the five charges.
Judge says, get back in the delivered delivery.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Interesting, they said they had a verdict on four of
the five.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
But then when they gave the verdict three three, well,
I guess they could have had a verdict on four
and they.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Were split on which one b the way. Uh. Hell,
he's in.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Jail, that's but he got a lot less than he
could have gotten if he had gotten the sex trafficking
and the rico.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Okay, uh eight nine twenty two eighty seven? Do you
have what I was gonna play?
Speaker 6 (25:47):
There?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
See, I'll come. I'll come back to this. Who's up next, Jake? Jake?
Go ahead, Jake.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
Hi.
Speaker 10 (25:54):
I just wanted to I just wanted to call in
and give you some background info on that jester that
committed to La Familia.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Go for it.
Speaker 10 (26:02):
He started out as a two K you thwoer. He
was playing the game two K and kind of blew
up and got his name out there. And now he's
just a basketball content creator like Mario's dead. He he
he plays one dy one's, he'll he'll play in some
fivety five games and stuff like that. I've been watching
him for years. I think he will surprise all of
you guys in the tournament.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
No, I mean I will see they play well.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
I mean he's playing against dude, Like, there's a difference
between a guy who's good down at the YMCA, or
even a guy who's good in high school and Willie cally.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Stott right in the hair.
Speaker 10 (26:40):
But he will hit the open shot.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Okay, but I mean, first of all, he'll hit the
open shot.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Let's see if he'll hit the open shot when a six'
ten dude is flying at him with, That, like there's
a difference between hitting the open shot and hitting the open.
Shot when Montres harrell is talking trash in front of
fifteen thousand, people that's a different.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
THING i hear.
Speaker 10 (27:02):
You But i'm gonna call back when he averages.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Twenty oh what what's this guy's? Name what's this guy's?
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Name?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
John this Is, Jake. Jake i'll go.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Farther if he averages ten throughout the, tournament, Ten i'll
give you one thousand.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Dollars, oh that's.
Speaker 10 (27:22):
EVENT i will take on.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
That but if he.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Doesn't if he, doesn't you owe me twenty. Dollars So
i'm giving you basically fifty to one. Odds, okay are you?
Speaker 10 (27:36):
In this sounds? Good i'm in all.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Right take his number, There, john because he's paying me
my twenty dollars when he doesn't average ten.
Speaker 10 (27:45):
Points, again you some money, bags aren't.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
YOU i just want your twenty.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Dollars it's you're giving me free twenty, Dollars so go
ahead take his money, back all?
Speaker 5 (27:55):
Right hang, on maybe you should watch that video of
him taking Game brown before you go spending off all
your money on this sort of.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Thing, well if he Took Kane, brown would you take that?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
Bad, NO i don't think he'll get ten minutes a,
game let alone average ten.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
Points gain you like you said. It these guys played
in THE. Nba Even Deron lamb played in THE. Nba
take the.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Worst dude on Law familia and he would come to
your pickup game and wreck everyone that's. Playing, OKAY i
don't know who our worst player, is but take the worst,
one whoever it, is and he would wreck.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
EVERYBODY i had a guy during the break said he
just made a good video of basketball playing the squid.
Games he took the squid games and made a version
of the of.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Basketball somebody did send me the it's apparently ten year
olds versus seventy year. OLDS i am watching. THAT i
do think that has the potential to be very. Entertaining all.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Right but So Bobby, bones you Know Bobby, bones the radio.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Host oh, yeah definitely friend of, mine Like Bobby.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Bones but he did a video a couple of days
ago on his he does a sports show where he
ranked the five annoying fan bases in.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Sports he had The Philadelphia eagles number, four he.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Had The, yankees he Had duke, basketball and he Had tennessee.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Football and then he got to number one and he said.
Speaker 9 (29:13):
This the number one most annoying fan base in all
of sports is and they show up by the, hundreds
and it's like a virus that takes over wherever they're
going Into and It's kentucky basketball. Man and let's say
there are ten Thousand kentucky basketball fans IF i were
to do the math Sixteenth oh, Come, bin there're the.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
One, yeah there you.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Go all, Right, So Bobby, BONES i have a message
To Bobby.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Bones you, Know, BOBBY i like, You but first of,
all when you say hundreds Of kentucky, fans let's change
that to thousands or tens of.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
THOUSANDS i know you're used to.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Being At, arkansas where collectively you have forty to sixty
people in the state who care about, it but In
kentucky it's a different. Thing, Secondly, bobby you're a great radio,
host but you also do stand up. Comedy i've seen
you do stand up. COMEDY i went it was very.
Nice the ten thousand people's sixteenth joke is why we
don't know you for stand up comedy and we actually
(30:20):
know you for being a music. Bidja it's a very terrible.
Joke but let me just say, this there's nothing wrong
and there's no reason for you to be angry that
you got our coach after we wanted rid of.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Him you have. Him that's.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Nice in his first, year he had GOTTEN nnba draft
picks for fifteen straight. Years comes To, arkansas the street
breaks in his first. Year he goes To arkansas and
he ends up with less draft picks Than Mark, pope
who replaced him At. Kentucky it is okay for you
to be hurt by the fact that your programs are
not as good As, kentucky's but.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Those SHOTS i will not.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
ALLOW i would rank the five most annoying fan, bases
But arkansas would not make it because they're fans that
isn't even on my. Radar because there's a fan base
that we don't know anything. About so take duke, Basketball,
Yes tennessee. Football, yes you want to throw The yankees. In,
yes you want to throw The eagles.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
In.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Yes guess what the common denominator of all those programs
or franchises that, matter the one that doesn't is The.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Arkansas, razorbacks which is why you're not on the. List,
well ride. Back what else is sports? Radio? Look come?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Back it Is Kentucky Sports radio here live at Hand
High Bramble.
Speaker 2 (31:34):

bramblepark dot.

Speaker 2 (31:48):

County fair series where it's like it's gonna be some
of the harness racers from across the state are Gonna
i'm here and compete On.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Saturday right here on this.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Track one person, Writes, matt you are wrong About. Jesser
you're gonna end up paying that bet kid can. Ball
another person Says MATT i play With Daniel orton pick.
Up he can't even get time ON, tbt and no
one can score against him in our. Game jesser stands no. Chance,
mario you're A jesser, advocate just like you're A brownie.
(32:22):
Advocate can, well he scored more than ten points a? Game, No,
okay that's WHY i feel very. CONFIDENT i don't think
he'll play more than ten minutes a.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Game, YEAH i think that's. UH i think that's very.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Unlikely big, weekend or actually big day today for My Cincinnati. Reds,
okay they have a double header. Today they're down one
nothing in the first. Game it got rained out after
the third. Inning play two games against The Red. Sox
we Gotta i'm, Sitting i'm already scheduled watching all. Right
we got we gotta. Split at least if we win them,
(32:53):
both that's, Great but we can't lose them. BOTH i
feel like if we lose them, BOTH i might have
to be back out on The, reds so we need
to make. Sure we mean to make sure we at
least win one of them today against The Red.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
Sox i'm glad you're talking about The, reds CAUSE i
did want to ask, you how'd your Boy Chase burns
do the other?
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Night didn't have a good, game didn't have a good,
game only got one out the entire, game didn't make
it out of the first.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Game he got a red sat on back.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
There did you see The Red sox broadcast says they
think he was tipping his, pitches so that he was
doing something that let The Red sox know what he
was about to throw. Accidentally so they showed The Red
sox would be like in the on deck. Circle they were,
whispering and The Red sox announcer, said we don't want
to say what it, is but it looks like he's
(33:35):
tipping his. Pitches Terry francona was asked about after the.
Game he wouldn't say, yes but he kind of insinuated
we got to work on that with. Him so maybe
he was accidentally telling them what he was going to
throw before he.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Threw makes sense because it was batting. Practice, man they
were just teeing off on. HIM i THINK i saw
staut We hinly threw one strike because they hit everything
else that was a.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Strike, yeah so but this is a, big big. Deal
cannot lose both of.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
These we lose both of, THEM i might have to
be back out AND i don't want to be out
because they're a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
THERE i really enjoy, them BUT i might have to
be back out.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
There you've got A red's purse right. There even look at,
that you have A reds.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Purse, well that's actually, uh that's actually very. Nice I've
I'VE i have.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Enjoyed i've enjoyed watching them this year so. Much and
the good thing is they're. Young even if even if
it doesn't work out this, year they've got a couple more.
Years like they pretty much have everybody good locked up under.
Contract they got a chance to be good for the
next couple.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
WEEKS i did See Spincer, STEER i think was The
Major League Baseball player of The week because he Had.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Yeah Spencer steer been been doing. WELL i never. SO
i have a rule of.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Thumb when somebody passes, away every single person deserves at
least a minute of either saying something nice about them
or don't say anything at.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
All So i'm not gonna violate, this BUT i do
have to note that one of my favorite things to say.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
The person that said it passed, Away jimmy swaggered the
minister WHEN i was a, child the teleevangelist who was
WHEN i was a, Kid you guys would. KNOW i
was ON tv all the, time like he. Was like
when you thought of, Evangelists Billy graham was number. One
he was kind of the classy. One and then there
(35:20):
was Like Jim baker And Jimmy. Swagger AND i was,
shocked like two years ago to learn That Jim baker
And Jimmy swagger were even still. ALIVE i had no
idea That Jim baker is still. Alive, wow But Jimmy
swagger passed away ninety years. Old if you, want you can.
Look he had a very checkered. History but he also
said the line that you've heard me do that IMPRESSION
i can, do Which i'm not going to do in
(35:41):
front of everybody because it puts me on the. Spot
but the eye have sinned against, you my, lord which
is one of my favorite videos of all.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Time sorry to, see, though even though he was a
little bit of a crook and a con, man it
was sorry to see that he passed away at ninety years.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
Old you're, right there was a time a lot of
us Remember, Billy jimmy Shoe, marlowe there it, is there it.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
IS i thought you were gonna do.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
It, SORRY i just SAID i. Forgot OH i. KNOW i, Say,
look there was.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
A time but one of those three guys had a.
Show we all watched. It, man we didn't have cable.
Television he had those three networks and it was. ON
i remember sitting with my parents Watching Jimmy. Swagger, yeah
my grandma was Very my grandma was very.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Surprised she, GOES i remember she asked me WHEN i
was a little, kid and you gotta REMEMBER i was
like nine or something ten and chucked at me and she,
goes do you Think Jimmy swagger did?
Speaker 2 (36:33):
That AND i MEAN i didn't really know what that.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Meant huh at nine or ten years, old he was
apologizing for like he, said he sinned against His. LORD
i assume he probably did. It but, uh rest in
peace To Jimmy. Swagger who's, Next, Dallas, dallas go, Ahead.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Dallas hey, man what's one little? Brother what's?
Speaker 9 (36:56):
Up?
Speaker 7 (36:58):
WELL i just want to know what do you think
is starting five for basketball is gonna? Be and do
you think the football team is gonna make a bowl
game this?
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Year because on the second. One SO i, mean oh my,
god does that surprise?
Speaker 7 (37:14):
You, YEAH i think we got some good transfers and
guys coming in this.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Year all, Right, WELL i like the. Positivity how many
wins do you think we're gonna, Have, Lord.
Speaker 7 (37:25):
I'd say six and six will.
Speaker 8 (37:27):
Barely we'll make the That Liberty bowl or.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Something, well, listen if we make if we're six and
six with the schedule we have and make The Liberty,
BOWL i, think, honestly that's a.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Success to be quite frank with, YOU.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
I do think it's worth noting that they flipped the receiver,
yesterday a four star receiver flipped From auburn To. KENTUCKY i,
mean Since vince, left you do have to say that the,
recruiting they've gone from two commitments to twelve in the
course of in the course of like a week and a.
Speaker 5 (38:01):
HALF i don't know who this guy, is BUT i
Heard Tom leach talking about it this. Morning apparently you,
know all miss one and em you know this is
a is a, player this.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Is this is the best commitment they've got so. FAR
i believe it.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Might be the best commitment that that guy in the
right tackle they got that came in From New Mexico.
State those may be the leaders in the transfer portal.
Class so let's talk about basketball for a. Second Jalen.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Lowe, So Jalen lowe said that he thought This kentucky
team had the line up to be to play for
a national. Championship he, said we will have the best
backcourt in the, country best backcourt in the. Country and
then he went through and Said Trent noah is the
best shooter that he's ever seen in his. Life, wow
(38:41):
said he in all of his playing, basketball nobody better
Than Trent. Noah so the question, was what do we
think the starting lineup would. Be i'm still Going Jalen.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Lowe i'm now.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
SWITCHING i Had Jasper. Johnson i'm gonna switch and Go Denzel.
ABERDEEN i Watched Jessper johnson a little bit in The TEAM.
USA i still think he's gonna be really. Good he's
probably a notch below WHERE i thought he. Was So
i'm gonna put him at like the sixth, man And
i'll switch to what you And drew had With aberdeen
and then Go, Oway Mohammed diabat And Brandon.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Garrison do you have any difference from?
Speaker 5 (39:15):
That, NO i think Until Jaden quayton gets, healthy that's
the starting. LINEUP i think that's exactly who they go,
with and with yellowch if he ever makes it back over,
HERE i think maybe he's.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Gonna maybe push for a starting position as.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Well in my hotel, ROOM i Watched Jasper johnson a
part of both of his, games AND i love the kids.
ATHLETICISM i think he's GONNA i think he's gonna be really.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
GOOD i kind of THINK i we'll. See he may
want to be a one and. Done he looks to
me to be like a two year. Dude but he
looks to me like a.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Dude, Again i've only watched a couple, games but he
looks to me like a two year.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Dude that maybe is gonna be more of a six
or seventh man than than THAN i.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
Thought, YEAH i think he's LIKE i said, earlier he's
gonna get better and. BETTER i think it's gonna he
gets bigger and. Stronger you get him to THE, uk
they get him on the workout, program he muscles up
a little, bit he becomes that much more valuable as a.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Player i'll tell you who's.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
GOOD i don't want him to be.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Good kick going To louisvill's good kick going To louis'
is gonna be a. PROBLEM i, mean that brown, kid
he's the best player On TEAM, usa and he'll be
the best Freshman louisvill's.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
