Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones walcome back.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio eight five nine two,
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We're gonna go back
to phones here and just second. Some questions from the
text machine. First of all, I was are on Duke
loss to Houston not Florida last year flipped. Yeah, I
was gone, so I remember that. I knew they lost,
but didn't it. Didn't get to watch the game. One
person writes, Matt, when is the Pardon My Take takeover

(01:26):
on KSR? We may do it a little differently this year.
I may I'm thinking about going up to Chicago and
doing the show with them.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
That's cool.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yeah, so we've never done it. I've actually never done
a show with them, so I may, like the three
of us go into a show. I'm trying to figure out.
You know, my mom is in school in Chicago, so
I'm trying to figure out I'll be good when she'll
be there. That I could work in a trip with
my mom slash Pardon My Take show.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
That'd be a good idea to do something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
That show is always you Love Them where you Hate Them? Always,
one of the most listened to shows all summer.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah, but listen they're one of Time magazine put out
the one hundred best podcasts of all time or one
hundred most important and didn't put them on the list,
which I thought was really I thought that was ridiculous
because in terms of sports podcast their number two probably
next to Bill Simmons. I mean, they're actually bigger now,

(02:22):
but Bill Simmons has a long history. But I would
say it's like, if you're to say to me, what
are the most important sports podcasts, it would be Bill
Simmons and them, and then maybe what like the Kelsey
Brothers or something. But like and they don't even doing hell,
I mean like they should have been on the list.
Was not on the list, Shannon, which was where Now

(02:42):
oddly the KSR pre show is on the list but
not the KSR.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
True.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how that happened.
Speaking of that, what happened, you can go ahead and
get those. But what happened with Billy oh Man? So
I didn't hear?

Speaker 6 (02:54):
I like to start with the good I had a
great night with Billy went to the Country Boy opening
with the pickleball. So they have a pickleball play. Yeah,
we didn't. We didn't pick a ball. We did golf simulators.
He and I had a few beers and hit hit
balls into uh into a pebble beach A little part
three there. But then we got our separate way as
everyone leaves, and then Billy comes back and he's like, hey,
I need you, And I was like, okay, what's up?

(03:14):
And I'll look outside, and Billy has somehow there's a
gravel parking lot and there's like this mountain of gravel.
It's probably two three feet tall. I don't know how.
I didn't see it, but he has managed to get
his two door vehicle on top of this gravel mountain.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
So it's like a it's like a little gravel mountain
with a yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
It's almost like the top. Yes, And how did he
get up there? I don't even know. It's really amazing.
I have a photo. I should have taken it from
a different angle to really capture it, but I'm like,
all right, we'll be fine. I go in. Luckily we're
at country Boy, no shortage of guys with muscles around.
I get six bearded dudes about average. I'd say we're

(03:54):
we're in the high two hundreds. You know, we got
some muscle. We get out there. In about four in
the group whisper to me, he needs We can't do this,
the bumper will come off. Someone mentioned some oil piece.
He's like, this is going to rip off, Like he
needs a professional. But at that point we made a
group decision to do it anyway.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
So this is like if I were to picture you're
telling me, like, think of a mountain, like a stereotypical
mountain with the top Like he's just hanged.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
We're in a big gravel lot, like if someone intentionally
just piled up a bunch of gravel in a little spot.
But how did he get I have no idea. I
didn't see it.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
Oh can you see that?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah? How did he get up there?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
He said, said the sun.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
See it?

Speaker 5 (04:35):
We got him out of a little league baseball player.
This was a muzz coach.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
So how did you did get him out?

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Yeah? One big push with all that muscle, and the
sound was a little uncomfortable, but I think everything was
still intact. He slid backwards and then just kind of
drove around.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
It, and we're good for him.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
That was the end. But uh, it was a good
country boy opening except for Billy Party.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Playing mountains today? Right, So you can play pick a
ball golf simula. Later you said it was a really
cool play lots of pickleballing.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
I'm not like you where I'm anti, but I'm a
little intimidated. Like I'm in there having fun. It's a
grand opening. Got me some pretzels and a beer. But
there were some people treating this like it was Wimbledon.
Well was like sweating. DH was like, Hey, I'd love
for you to come to the opening. He's like, but
if you're gonna come, like you know, don't trash the pickleball.
And I said, love your DH. I'll be there one day,

(05:24):
but I cannot promise not to trash pickball. People were
into it, but people are into it in the simulation.
I play the golf simulator. I think that had a
lot of fun. Top of the line of technology.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Speaking of restaurants, coming back KS Bar twenty sixth of August.
Are you all you got your you got.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Your stuff going?

Speaker 6 (05:42):
We're in there.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
The thing is next week. Next Thursday is our fan
wing test. For those of you that have tickets. Uh,
I may give a couple of seats away there as
at the remote tomorrow, but we sold them out in
like five minutes, so they're they're they're doing it. And
then just so people know, we're doing an opening for
listeners where we do like a you can pay and

(06:07):
we'll you'll get to try a bunch of our food.
It's like a friends and family thing, but like we'll
just bring you food and it'll be I don't know
what it'll be, but we'll put tickets on sale, but
it'll be Thursday, the twenty first, and I'm doing it.
We're doing a friends and family for people we know,
but we're doing one just for listeners. Yeah, so be
listening for that. I don't know when it's going to

(06:27):
go on sale, but be August twenty first, and that
will you all will be literally the first people to
see it. We redid the floor.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah, it was really good.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
You saw it yesterday.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
That's really good.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
It's really cool.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
We redid the floor, redoing the front. For you all
that wrote about murals, I'm going to be writing you
this weekend. So just so you know, we're going to
have If you've been to the bar before, when you
walked in, you know where the host stand was, Shannon,
we're painting a mural. We move the host stand inside
and we're painting a mural on that brick on the outside.

(06:59):
That be cool thinking where the host stand was there
was a brick wall behind it. Yeah, it's going to
be like a UK mural of like former UK player
or whatever whoever. We picked designs and then we're gonna
put the players on those posts outside.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
So somebody asked me, they're actually gonna be painting on
the brick or they won.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
If you can. Yeah, I don't know. Science.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
I've seen people paint on bricks before.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
It feels like you can paint on me.

Speaker 7 (07:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
They have like a big brick wall downtown here in
Lovell where there's just like.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
A pain on bricks. Yes, if you've driven around, don't
ruin our plane.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
People are asking me questions. I think they want to
submit an entry, but they're like the one that am
I painting actually on the brick?

Speaker 5 (07:38):
If you're a true artist, you know you can paint
on brick. Yeah, that's not artist anything.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I've seen people paint on human beings.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Saw Dennis Rodman do that?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Yeah, so I think uh so. Yeah. But anyway, August
twenty first will be uh uh when that when that is?
Did you see Shandon? I have to say. I haven't
watched the video yet, but you know, I like people
that kind of fight the power, right, I'm a power fighter.
I also like when people are clever. Did you see

(08:07):
what the south Park creators did. I've seen a little previously.
South Park creators Shannon needed, like needed to sign a
renewal with Paramount for south Park to be on the
streaming service. Yesterday afternoon, they finalized their renewal one point
five billion dollars wow, for every south Park episode to

(08:28):
be on Paramount and for them to continue making them. Now.
I haven't watched south Park in years. I didn't even
know they were still making them. But still one point
five billion dollars A lot of money, right, a lot
of money.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's a lot.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
They wait till they sign it, and then that night
put out a cartoon making fun of Paramount and decerrating
Paramount until the deal is signed. And then the moment
it signed, they put out a cartoon that clearly they
had already done, sure, making fun of Paramount for like

(09:00):
bowing down to Trump, but they waited till they signed
the deal. Shannon, I kind of think that's awesome, Like
that is a middle finger in the face to your bosses.
But you wait till you sign the contract. There's a
big part of me that goes, I can't you got
to salute that.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
What are they going to do about it? Now you've
already got the deal, the deal they.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Could do two days exactly. They either just have to
eat it or they have to pay them one point
five million dollars because in the contract it says you
can have no control over our content. So they they'll
either have to fire them and give them one point
five billion dollars or they just have to eat it,
which is probably what they.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
You know, like that.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
Yeah, the episode is Trump suing the town of South
Park kind of like just mocking what they just went through.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
So I have to say, as somebody who loves it
when people find a way to kind of needle at
their bosses, that's one of the best ones I've ever seen.
Wait till you sign the contract, and then from right after.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
It, I guess the next contract negotiation won't go as well.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Well, one point five billion dollars. You know what you can,
you can have it, Michael, go ahead.

Speaker 8 (10:10):
Michael, Yeah, just gonna talk a little gilded age.

Speaker 9 (10:22):
Again, Michael, Yeah, how far into it?

Speaker 10 (10:25):
Are you.

Speaker 8 (10:26):
I don't want to spoil.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
I'm only like five episodes in, so I don't spoil it.
I still want to learn with the ladies as it happens.

Speaker 9 (10:34):
I'll just say big things are coming from Bertha and
her power moves. You gotta watch what Peggy's gonna do
with her love.

Speaker 10 (10:41):
Triangle and may.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Who says comes into your own.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
Mary and the Meryl Street daughter.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Okay, well, I wouldn't talk anybody specifically.

Speaker 10 (10:51):
Does it?

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Does her acting improve?

Speaker 11 (10:55):
Well, her storyline gets better, so that helps?

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Okay? Good, all right, good. I'm kind of I'm kind
of attracted to Bertha, not to you, Michael. I think
Bertha is kind of I agree with you, But I
don't think she's wrongly named Bertha because it's but no, Michael,
am I wrong? Bertha is kind of hot.

Speaker 12 (11:15):
No, she's kind of going on and she's good in
White Lotus too.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yes, she is. Carrie Coons is the is the act. Yes,
Now Bertha looks hot like she has great dresses too.

Speaker 9 (11:28):
Yeah, and then I got my son, LaRue. Here was
one summer thing for you guys.

Speaker 7 (11:31):
I'll put them on.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Go ahead, LaRue. LaRue is a great name. That's Larry's
middle name LaRue. LaRue never knowes like the county. Go ahead, LaRue.

Speaker 13 (11:40):
Hey, So you guys know Joey Chestnut and Usain Bolt,
right I do?

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I think I know your question, But go ahead.

Speaker 8 (11:49):
So who do you guys think would win if you
have to eat a whole entire hot dog and then
run a hundred meter dash?

Speaker 10 (11:57):
Who you think would win between the boat?

Speaker 4 (12:00):
So the question is, both Joey Chestnut and Hussein Bolt
have to eat a hot dog and then run one
hundred meters. Who wins first? All right? I appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
That's a great question because Jimmy Chitwood is going on.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
It's not Jimmy Chitwood.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Chestnut is going to devour that dog in like a second,
and then he can finish it in like the one
hundred and like thirteen fourteen seconds Usin may take he
can run it in like nine, but it may take
him three or four seconds to eat.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I would think Joey Chestnut wins, right, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (12:31):
I think he with the hot dog eating, he gets
himself probably five to seven second heads start on the race,
and then he gets it done.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
What do you think, Shannon?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
I think Bolt still wins because we don't know how
fast he can eat a hot dog. Maybe he can
eat one quickly, and you.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Think he could maybe eat a hot dog faster than
we think.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Maybe maybe. So yeah, we're just talking one. No, if
we're talking five, I would say Joey chestnut.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
But one.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
So you're taking Bolt.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
Yep, I think he's still try I'm taking.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Chest chestnut chestnut, Mario Bolt.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Mario picks Brony oddly somehow, which would be an amazing combination. Eric,
go ahead, Eric.

Speaker 11 (13:07):
Matt, I'm trying to, Uh, I want to contribute to
making a new ks bar launch better than ever. And
I'm sorry you'd cut me off. Uh back to the
last segment. But uh if if if you Kim by
the way, not can it?

Speaker 4 (13:21):
You can't call twice?

Speaker 11 (13:24):
No, but I'll make Hey, I'll make it up to you.
I promise just just to hear me out for a
few seconds here. If it's Tim by the way, not Tim.
So if Tim from Long John Silver's called me, I
am going to give you a free multifunction printer to
outfit your new office. So if Monique needs to print
something copy scan, it's just going to make it so
much better. Your sales are going to.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I appreciate the call. I hope he calls you. I
hope you get your log Jod's account. If you want
to give me a printer, you can. But this is
not I cannot be a facilitator for people to have
their business conversation.

Speaker 6 (13:58):
This is what happened when you signed up for LinkedIn.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
This is the problem with what happened when signed up
with LinkedIn.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I hope Tim calls in everything ask you a question.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
I wasn't gonna do this, but now that we've gone
down this path, Yeah, there's.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
A part of me that would like to have coke
in the bar.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Okay, I said, do we know someone who runs coke.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
And that would give us a deal?

Speaker 10 (14:22):
Maybe?

Speaker 6 (14:23):
Okay, we'll work it out.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
All right, Shannon, don't tell anybody, but I like coke. Okay,

all materials at Join Commonwealth dot com. One person writes, Matt,
how would you feel if what the South Park people

(16:23):
did to Paramount, Ryan, Drew and Shannon did to you? Well,
I would be upset, but they wouldn't. But I'm a person.
I'm not Multi multinational corporations do not have feelings like
a person does. Like we know, I do not feel
sorry for multinational billion dollar corporations. I feel sorry for

(16:45):
people sometimes, but that's not the same thing. So yeah,
if they did it to me, I'd be I'd be hurt.
But if they did it to you know, an LLC
that I was like a one percent shareholder, let them
do what they want, Shannon.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
At that point, I think, if you can, you just
lean into it, embrace it. And like I said earlier,
you're driving more attention to south Park being on.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
I didn't know about it till you just mentioned it.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
I didn't even know south Park was still on. I
did the tweet yesterday about the McDonald's. You know, we
talked about this the other day on the show, but
I did the tweet about Lexington McDonald's, and you know,
I'm not trying to start problems, but the quality of
a lot of Lexington McDonald's has fallen off a cliff

(17:30):
and I'm upset about it. I am shit.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Those diet cokes aren't what they used to be.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
These diet cokes, I only do breakfast and die coke,
but I'm sure it applies to the regular food too.
It is falling off a cliff. And the problem is
whatever mctribe is, because mctribe takes over these restaurants and
next thing you know, it falls apart. All Right, I'm frustrated.

(17:57):
I love the least town road, McDonald's falling off a cliff.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yes, it has.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
You go to the Nicholsville Road. McDonald's used to go
to that one all the time when our studio was there,
falling off a cliff. The only the ones that are
good still Harrodsburg Row, not mctribe, ah Newtown Pipe not mctribe.
I hear Pylomar's good. I'm not haven't been out there,
but that's not mc tribe, but the mctrie. I don't
know who you are, mctribe, but we gotta get our

(18:23):
stuff together. So I did a tweet ranking them universal agreement.
So today I go to the Harridsburg Row McDonald's. Pull up,
get my diet coke, get my little breakfast muffin. The
owner is working, comes to the window and thanks me,
and I said, I got to look him in the eye,

(18:44):
and I said, you do a good job, sir. This
place more efficient, The diet coke is delicious, the muffins
are glorious. And I got to thank him and he
got to thank me, and that was a special moment
for me. But mctribe, you are mcruining these restaurants and
I need you to fix them.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
That's all I have to say about that. Do you
think the ones that you've uh. I don't even know
what mctribe is.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
This is not personal, okay, but I don't think it's
a Native American group. This is just a group of
people who are ruining. Are McDonald's the ones that have
your stamp of approval? I think you could get them
like plaques, like when something someone wins the Lexidon Leader Award.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
You see a sticker, I'll tell you a website.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
I'm not gonna do it. I don't have time, but
somebody should drive around the state and rank and give
McDonald's star ratings. Because I'm Michelin stars. Yes, because some
are different. Midway McDonald's good, yes, right, yes it is.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
It's my favorite one.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Midway McDonald's solid.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yep, get you in and out pretty quick.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
I've heard of other McDonald's in state, good, some bad.
I've heard the one in Richmond needs help. I think
it's also a mctribe one. Oh, Like, You've got to
the root of this problem. I don't know what mctribe is,
but every time I go to one and I'm like,
what's going on? I see the sign proud to be
operated by mc pride, stop being so proud and fix them.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Did they see youse worked up about anything like this
a long time?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Do the signs have a little number you can call?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
They do, But I'm not calling. This is my call. Okay.
They're asking Shannon for for for comments this, this is
my public I'm not calling.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
I'm just saying, at the bottom of you, you are.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Ruining these fine establishments. The least Town Road. McDonald's was
once an exemplary place.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Now I avoid it and.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
No one and every time I go, no one's there.
You know why, cousin mctribe fix it. Let's go to Noah,
go ahead, Noah.

Speaker 7 (20:40):
Hey, guys, I got a statement and a question for
you both. All right, sorry, uh for so tomorrow first
time I'm gonna be able to see you guys at
Kentucky Customs up fitting. Really excited for it and for
the question for you all. Yes, So obviously you were
talking earlier about for Loaf Amelia. It'd be awesome for
next year. We can get someone from like John Wall
and Boogie coming in making a huge rock star sensation

(21:04):
sensation for it all. I want to know what you
guys would put for your full starting line up. Like
your dream team starting lineup for Law Amelia and like
maybe two or three reserves love it.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Okay, So if you're doing Law Famelia, I appreciate the call.
So I'm gonna take guys. I can't put someone in
the NBA now because because Law Familia requires you to
not be in the NBA. So if I'm doing my dream,
this is who I would like to see play at
Law Familia that realistically could play. John Wall, Brandon Knight's
my backcourt. I don't know what Brandon Knight's doing now.

(21:38):
I don't know if he's still playing basketball, but he's
got to be good.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
Give me a year, He'll get in shape, hard work.

Speaker 4 (21:44):
You got a year brand John Wall, Brandon Knight backcourt,
boogie center, Okay, get those three. I'm like, I liked
having Archie this year. Archie Archie's could be on the
team power forward.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
I have the answer I wanted him this year. Alex Poythers,
he's still Dombin. I don't know if he's in Germany.
I don't know what league he's in, but he is
still playing at high level. Alex poys and there wouldn't
be any other Alex Poyter's athleticism around though, turn me
either Derek Willis.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Derek Willis is playing great, Like every time I see
Derek Willis is the All Star in like Turkey or
who's Beka Stan or wherever he is, but he's playing well.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
He's the other. He and Alex were in Lexington last
week and I'm thinking just.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Throwing a uniform and get out there. Derek Willis and
Alex Poythers. I think, give you this, give you the
guys who are still balling. I love Archie. I'm good
with the twins. I think they had a lot Khalil
Whitney was fun. He was, but you had that and
make it the group. Who would you want Willy? I
want Willy. I need Willy to like buy basketball, can

(22:48):
work out together. Didn't he say he doesn't have a basketball?
Get a basketball again? But go ahead?

Speaker 6 (22:54):
My other one I won with Poethers, trow b bad
is Isaiah Briscoe because he dominates the Big Three. Uh
that's why he wasn't on it last year. He chose
the Big Three over law Familia. But he can still play.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
I'd heard rumors before this season the Terrence Jones was
a possibility.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
I bet is he still good?

Speaker 6 (23:10):
I have not seen anything of him in many years,
but if he still can do it, yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Of course I'm I'm for all this. These are all good.
Oh I didn't roze. I got to take a break.
If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven,
uh seven seven two seven seven four five two five
four is KOSR TJ.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ? He'll make them.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Pay Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
Here's Matt Jones, Welcome.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Back Tukey Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven text with sheet seven seven two
seven to seven four five two five four one person
who rights mad? I love you, but your entire McDonald's
rant sounded like something Donald Trump would say. Well, he's
not always wrong, might be wrong a lot, But if
that's something he would say, I'd back you on that.
As much as I don't like to admit it. While
our politics are very opposed, we do have some similar interest.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
McDonald's is one of them.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
McDonald's he saved McDonald's five not putting five foot putts.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
Stretching the USGA rules. You all have that in common,
your own interpretation.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Own interpretation. I agree with him about.

Speaker 6 (24:12):
Paper straws kind of turn it into.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Him that I mean bridges here.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
So, uh, you know those are good one person rights.
Mad I listened to your podcast with Tommy v Tour
and interrupted last night. I loved it. You need to
have him on again. Yeah, he's I think that's a
really good one. If you get a chance, just did
it last night. We're gonna have Matt Norlander CBS basketball tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
So you get a college basketball and tomorrow. This is
one kind of about So it's a political one, but
I promise you, even if you're not on my side,
you would enjoy it because we're basically ragging on my
side what they do wrong. So you will.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
You'll still like I knew it was an important guest
because I was here in the building and I left
my backpack in this room and Billy was like, oh no,
you cannot go in there.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Billy was very nervous.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Yeah, okay, can you get my backpack?

Speaker 4 (24:57):
He worked for He worked in the Obama White House.
He talks about like what's it like to work in
the White House? Just is it like on a day
to day basis.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
Could you ask him about why it's so old and
dated in there, and if they're gonna the air condition.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
And say to him that's another thing I kind of
agree on Trump. I don't know if I like all
the gold he puts in, but the building does kind
of stink.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
It's a little gaudy now little, it's.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
A little god but like the idea of like go
to a foreign country and go to where their presidents live.
They are majestic, like I was in the one in
the Netherlands recently majestic. The White House kind of stinks
on the inside, don't you agree.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
I could not believe in when they were walking around
in there. It's like old crickety, crackety little hallways.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Room stinks. And I you know, the Capitol is amazing, yeah, right,
The Supreme Court is amazing if you've ever been, But in.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
The bellies of the White House, I kind of feel like.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
The White House kind of stinks. I mean I would
before this is the United States. You know you can go.
I went to Italy to where their parliament is majestic.
Like I kind of feel like we should make the
because he's right about that the White House is just yeah,

(26:13):
and it's old. You know how you go to a
hotel Shennon and it's old and you just kind of
feels old.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
That's kind of musty, it's lusty.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
It's it smells like, you.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Know, the carpet looks like it's been there for fifty yearsmells.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Like Grover Cleveland's sweated all over it. Nobody's cleaned it.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
It's the history, though, That's the history you get when
you walk in.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Yeah, I know you think that press room is some
glorious grand place to shoot. It's like the size of it.
Yea have a closet.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Yeah, that's my biggest takeaway. The room you see on TV.
You think that room that you do the press coming,
you think it's you. It's tiny, which makes it even
more uncomfortable when Ryan's doing as much McConnell impersonation and
it really is Patriot Papa.

Speaker 13 (26:52):
Go ahead, Hey guys, just a couple of things, madam
one to encourage you to not be ashamed of your
guilded age interests.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
Okay, you know, many people such.

Speaker 13 (27:04):
As myself are interested in similar shows. My beautiful young
wife and I watched Love Island together. I didn't think
I'd like that show at all. Almost the shame to
admit it at one time, But now I can't get enough.
I proposed that we have a crossover reality show with
the guilded Age concept and the Love Island concept, where

(27:27):
they compete as couples to climb a proverbial social ladder
in the setting of the guilded Age.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Wouldn't be bad. I appreciate, I mean, the climbing up
and down old money versus new money. I appreciate the call.
That's really good. You know, I think we've talked about this.
You know, I was cast on a reality show once
and almost did it, and then got a new job
and decided I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Well, I can't remember the details. I remember me talking
about it one time.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
It was going to be a legal version of The Apprentice.
So Donald Trump's Apprentice had come out and they were
going to do a legal version with Johnny Cochran. No,
I'm serious, awesome would that it was going to be
called The Partner and you would go. So when I
was on the DC circuit, they came and they had

(28:15):
the tryouts, and a guy that I clerked with had
been asked to come because he kind of had a
unique background, and he asked me to go with him,
and I went and they liked me, and I got
asked back and then they basically invited me to be
on the show. And then I got another job clerking
on the fourth Circuit and I couldn't do both, and

(28:36):
I just couldn't turn it down to go be on
a reality show. And then the reality show, I think
they taped it, but it never aired because I think
he died or he either died or something happened. They
never aired the show. They did film it, but they
never aired it, and it was called The Partner, and
it was just going to be The Apprentice but law
with Johnny Cochran.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
It would have been awesome.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
And then of course they asked me to be on
the Married at First Sight in Nashville.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
But I never consider different different one. Yeah, I never
considered I got far in a reality show thing. I
completely forgot about. This just popped in my head. I
don't even want to say this on the air, I
don't think, but there was a show. You don't want
to say it on the air. I just had this memory.
The show was I want to work for Diddy? That
was the name of the show. Why why did I

(29:23):
do that? In hindsight, that would have been a horror
work you were going to it. But I think I
think there was like an email like would you apply?
And I might have applied. That would have been one
to work for Diddy.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
No.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
I completely forgot about this for probably fifteen years, and
you talking about that. It popped in my head and
I'd even make sure that was the name of the show,
and that was it.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Wow that that you know, there's very few things I
don't know about you. I did not know about your
Diddy love.

Speaker 6 (29:52):
Easy easy, easy easy, But just.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
An opportunity.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
I have breaking news. Not to get off subject, but
it's a big all.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Right, breaking news, Shannon. I don't know what he's gonna say.

Speaker 6 (30:04):
I gotta make sure this is a real account.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Okay, before you see is reporting hang on, make sure
is it really teams?

Speaker 6 (30:10):
Yeah, okay, says wrestling legend Hulk Cogan has died.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
Oh wow, well you know they said they've been saying
for a couple of weeks that he was like, oh
okays last legs.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
Yeah, that just popped up some of our Hull Cogan
is any one?

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Well, I mean that's that is sad. Hul Cogan is
like when you're thinking wrestling, I mean, the biggest, biggest
of all time, it's him, Flair, the Rock, and Austin
in some order. But if you're just talking about the
Rock became bigger after wrestling. But if you're just talking

(30:50):
about the person that was the biggest while they were
wrestling in history, it is probably Shannon Hulkogan, Right.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
I don't think there's anybody bigger.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I mean, throughout the eighties and nineties, he was more
than just a wrestler. I mean he was like a
pop culture icon. Like everybody knew hull Cogan, even if
you weren't a wrestling fan. And even today, like you know,
all these years later, people st don't know who hull
Cogan is.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
That's really sad.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Man, That is sad. See he was seventy one years old.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
Yeah, yep, yeah, you are listening to great ones. He's
number one, and I think there's a gap between him
and number two. He he like you.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
I mean, he was the thing you have to remember
about Hulkogan. He was in a Rocky movie. Yes he
was right, People forget about that. He was the person
I mean he was the person that probably made it
to where the average person learned about wrestling by learning
about Hull Cogan. See that's me right like that. I
mean you probably he was on the Tonight Show if

(31:45):
he would do things that would sort of bring it
into the mainstream world. And if you know the history
of wrestling, wrestling went from like regional promotions to a
national show essentially on the back of hul Cogan.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Yeah. So see, I'm a non wrestling guys on my
first introduction is Hult Cogan. You know, I don't know
nothing about his history, but I remember seeing him and
Andre the Giant.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
I mean his match against Andre the Giant arguably the
biggest match shennon of all time, right yeah, I mean yeah,
ninety three thousand people in the Silver Gnome in Detroit
and he body slams him. It was alleged it was
the first time that ever happened. That wasn't true, but
that's how they built it up.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
And US commercial commercial endorsement.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Did you do a Pepsi big pay.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Anything, I mean, you know, anything you can imagine there
was Hulk Hogan's name on it.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Yeah, you gotta play the song, I mean yeah, and
and you know what I feel like, we think iHeart
would let us play one song on the podcast for
all right, Well then we can just sing it shit

(33:03):
when the sun's crashing down and it hurts.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
Inside, then when it comes crashing down.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Same thing. That's pretty good, though, rest in peace to
a whole coach. I'm really sad to hear that we
won't take a break of mary back this kids.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
Dude, how does this not get you pumped up.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
When you comes crashing down in it huts inside? Come on, Jane,
you got the next verse. Let's go.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
You gotta take a stead.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
It'll help to hide. There you go, because when you
hurt my friends, then you hurt my pride.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
Man, I can't let it slide.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
I am a real averycan frightful right of every man.
There we go. Everybody, I mean everybody loves anybody you
and for you and me.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
This is like a lifelong I mean this was so
many like here. You known heroes as a kid.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
You would go to you know, movie warehouse, and I
would rent the videos right WrestleMania one, Him and Mister
T on the Front, three, him and the Giant right five,
Him and Macho Ye six, him and the Warrior what
to him and Orndorf? Yeah, you know, yep, sad. I

(34:32):
mean later in life he did some things that but
you know what, still legend.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
There absolutely Yeah, rip Hulkster, Oh dog, what's next? Oh sorry,
you caught me off guard of us. It's okay, wiping
my tears.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Away, go ahead.

Speaker 9 (34:49):
Uh yeah, I've just got a couple of things for you.
Number one. I was going across looking for that uncensored
Top fifty Players podcast that I ran into. One y'all
had gotten back from a la night. It was about
in twenty thirteen, and Drew had a two foot tall
bottle of rum. Supposedly.

Speaker 8 (35:06):
Anyway, boy number two had a hot.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
The one where we did with Ryan one where Rydan
told the Rob Bromley story, which is still one of
the better stories of all time. Yeah, that was a
good one too. That was a good too. That was
like twenty thirteen. You're right, it was about then.

Speaker 8 (35:22):
I believe.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
So.

Speaker 9 (35:24):
So anyway, me and my buddy did a hot dog
eating exhibition last night out in the great town of
Poplar playing Swimming County and uh, I thought I could
get down ten of them there in ten minutes. That
was the goal. That was set by all of our buddies.
But uh, I felt the challenge only got seven and
a half. But my boy Dugan he got ten. So, uh,
do y'all think that y'all could eat the most.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Of Yeah, I don't know. I appreciate call. I'm not
a mass eater like that, so I don't know that's
a drewth Yeah, tacos is it. Stomach's built for it. Yeah,
I think I would win a talk go eating contest. Yeah, well,
uh have you We've had a lot of people give
you a hard time about not getting it, about not
doing it.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
I'm telling you right after that that weekend, I bet
I was asked about it five hundred times.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
And did were people saying you should have been able
to do it?

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Yeah, I can do that. I actually i'd be easy
to do that. Like, Okay, try it. Get one of
those Jeff donuts.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
And yeah, no, I mean they can't. It's so much hard,
Like unless you've been there, you don't see how thick
those things are.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
And when you open up the lid to that box, like,
oh my good.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
That was a moment where it was clear you were like,
I don't know what I agreed absolutely the side view
of the donut where you see how tall it is. Yes,
there's someone staring through your window there, Shannon.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
No, I don't know they work at iHeart.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Is it looks like Ryan with Joe Biden Binkie. Go ahead, Banky, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
We know, yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you. Instead, that's what
I wanted to tell you.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Oh okay, Baky, go ahead like that.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
She's fussing at somebody.

Speaker 10 (37:01):
Jerry.

Speaker 5 (37:02):
Oh sorry, I clicked on Jerry.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
I don't know what's going on. I got people coming
in my studio district.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
Right, let's go to Bankie. Jerry's just gonna complain. Go
ahead to Bankie.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (37:11):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (37:12):
You know. Celebrities, they normally die in threes.

Speaker 9 (37:14):
You know.

Speaker 10 (37:14):
I just found out the Halkster was number three. Malcolm
Jamal Warner died I think this Weekend's Women and with
his daughter, then Ozzie and now it's Hulkster.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
Yeah the other.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
But those are three. Those are three big ones. I
mean Ozzy and Hall are legends, and then Malcolm Jamal
warn are one of the most famous TV stars of
the eighties. So yeah, that's a big one.

Speaker 10 (37:37):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (37:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (37:38):
The last thing stay away from long John Silver's one
piece of long John's fish has thirty grams of fat,
saturated fat.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
I don't know what that means though, how like thirty
grams of fat? Like, how much is that of your
daily allowance?

Speaker 10 (37:56):
Oh I'm not I don't know, but I mean thirty
thirty grams of fat and one piece of fish sounds
like a lot to me.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
Okay, well, I appreciate you. I just don't know how much.

Speaker 6 (38:04):
Great that would be a high for a day.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
That would be high for a day. Yeah, so one
piece of fish is a day's worth of fact.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
I mean, I could be proven wrong, but I think
like twenty to thirty is a pretty big day for that.
So one piece of fish, it'd be about all you'd
want to eat.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
But it is good. It's like it's it's the it's good.

Speaker 6 (38:25):
Let's be on. When you're seeking that out, you're not
really thinking about your body in that. You're not doing
that for health, Like when I go to Jeff's Donuts
or Canes name it, I'm not really considering my belly
a heart attack.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
We would go up to like five percent then.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
Still at one point says all right, cornbreadhip dot Com.
You go to Cornbreadhip dot com and you're able to
rest relax.

Speaker 10 (38:44):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (38:44):

It is cornbread Hip dot com. Use my promo code
KSR for twenty percent off at cornbreadhimp dot com. Promo

Speaker 12 (39:04):
It's hey, guys, what's up? I was just in Josie's
at the breakfast bar and this guy sitting there and
he flips Mayor and when he got up and left
to hit me, it was Chris Lofton when he brought
me my bier, my bill.

Speaker 9 (39:19):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (39:19):
Chris had picked up the tab for everybody sitting at
the bar, quietly left, never said anything about it as
a class kid making a class act. And I just
want to give him a shout out.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
What wait minute, did did he speak to you or
he just did it randomly?

Speaker 12 (39:33):
He just did it random and he didn't he didn't
speak to me, uh, anybody else. So I hadn't met him,
probably about six years ago. We had the same past.
He didn't remember me, but I kept thinking, I know
that guy. I know that guy, and I mean after
he left it hit me, but that that was really good.
Probably one of the Tossy's biggest mistakes, not recruiting.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
No, no doubt that may be. That may be his biggest.
I appreciate it.

Speaker 11 (39:57):
Call.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
It's hard for me to get upset about it because
I loved ramel Bra badly who he got instead. But
that is one Tubby clearly missed.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
He had Rondo Crawford Bradley already in that class often
would have been a fourth guard in that class.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
He would have. Brother, you know something, Jean, you know
something mean Jean at whole maniacs out there. So your
prayers and eat your vitamins.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
That's pretty good Eastern Kentucky coach.

Speaker 4 (40:26):
It's a little country hole.

Speaker 6 (40:27):
Cogad Brother, did you remember being absolutely crushed when he
went to nWo and had it?

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Was awesome, the greatest heel turned in the history of rest.

Speaker 6 (40:36):
Had that black Beard?

Speaker 4 (40:37):
Yes, And he came out and he gave the boot
and then he I liked to be a bad guy.
He just paid his beer. Black I was like, you
would know how I'm a bad guy now I used
just for men on my beard. That is how you know,
I'm a bad guy.

Speaker 6 (40:48):
So many great Hogan moments. What was that? Was it
something paradise? Thunder and Paradise?

Speaker 4 (40:53):
Was that a shah? Yeah? That was like a cheap
knockoff baby. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (40:57):
And he had mister Nanny, Oh yeah, mister. I think
he was in Three Ninjas, which is one of my favorite.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
Uh. I Also, like Shannon, when he wrestled, he had
like no moves. Everybody else could do a leg drop
and that was just a move. But when Hulgan hits
you with the leg drop, you were done.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
That's right. The body slam the three punches.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
And then he would haul up. He would go yeah
and then do the ear thing.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
It was the power of the Hulk of Maniacs in
that way.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
That's right. It was the power of the Hulk of Maker.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
That's what was so devastating.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
It was, well, you know, that's exactly right. We've had
trying to think of death. We've learned about on the
show George Jones, we did, and Shannon and I actually
cried on that one, and now Hulkster we learned during
the two hours. Well, rest in peace to my man.
I'm not a little thrown off. I'll give Jerry thirty seconds,

(41:50):
and he better not bring me more down. Go ahead, Jerry.

Speaker 8 (41:54):
