Consumer Access dot Org. Welcome to two of Kentucky Sports
Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Now Here's Matt.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Jones welcome back, I number two take you sports radio.
We will hear at UK Football Media Day. We will
be joined at some point here with players. They're talking
to the print and TV media right now after having
just taken the team picture. Although it didn't look like
that wasn't the full team was it? Because I feel
like we have a lot more players than that.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
I still haven't seen like the big offensive line group
like jag Or Burton and those guys have not come
out yet.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
Yeah. I don't know who these people are.
Speaker 7 (01:30):
Maybe those the team photo though they wouldn't do it
without their offensive line.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah, it's only like five rows of people, isn't it
usually go up like twenty? I wouldn't pen that close
to Okay, Well.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
Anyway, Yes, So we've had fun here first hour, a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Going on, a lot of news made, and now we
are we'll kind of wait for the players and everybody here.
Let me ask you now, you you were already on
the ship before all of this.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
Are you more on the ship?
Speaker 5 (01:56):
And now absolutely every time I hear Mark Stoops talk
get I get more and more sucked in. I mean,
I'm not gonna lie. I mean a couple months ago
I was thinking they're gonna struggle to get four wins.
Now I'm almost up to Shannon Mall. Why can't they
put together?
Speaker 6 (02:10):
You're gonna have a good team.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
By the time of kickoff, I'll be going eight and four.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
Yeah, I'm sure I enjoyed the interview.
Speaker 8 (02:16):
It didn't change any well.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
I mean, I've already bet over four and a half,
so it's not like I'm yeah naysayer over here.
Speaker 8 (02:22):
But those two conversations didn't have me ready to run
through a wall.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
I enjoyed them, but I'm still right where I was
as far as my expectations for wins.
Speaker 8 (02:28):
But I did like them clearing up a lot of things.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Yeah, I did too. I think I like I do.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
One of the things I like about Mark is that he
wears his emotions honestly.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Yes, he does, for good or bad.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
As someone over the years who has been the recipient
of happy, sad, and mad phone calls from him, I
know his emotions pretty well. I actually don't know him
really well, but I know his emotions and I can tell,
generally speaking, when I think he's in a good frame
of mind and when he's not. And he is in
(03:02):
a good frame of mine, he looks good. He's lost weight,
he looked happy. He had that you know you we've
done interviews with him. We know, we know you can
tell when he walks up here, like you know what
I mean, you can tell what where he is.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
And I thought that was that was very good.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
You were dead on when you said you just look
like you're a different person like the guy you used
to be. And you remember he did a gear you
with his one time here at media day. We lean
back and put his feet up on the table. I
feel like he's getting close to that guy.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I mean when he came in.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
I'm glad he came in during the spring, but he
was very defensive and it was clear very he was
he was and that wasn't the same guy here, right,
I mean, I think that was much more what we're
used to when things have been good with Mark. Right, yes,
so all right, so now we have my goodness, Yeah,
we have this all right? So how do I say
(03:56):
that person?
Speaker 6 (03:56):
She ows peat you are a big person. How are
you doing? Matt?
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Nice to see you come on and join us. We
are already on the air. So Ryan, okay, first I
gotta stand next to you. Let's turn over here I
want you to look stand here, right here next to me.
This is the biggest person I've ever seen. She's Pete
she hays join us here on the air. Thank you
very much for walking, for coming with us.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
She has. You are from New Mexico?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Am I right?
Speaker 9 (04:25):
Thank you for inviting me.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
I am? And you are the Are you six eight?
I feel like you are.
Speaker 10 (04:30):
Six eight, three hundred and twenty four pounds, three hundred.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
And twenty four pounds of Now you look how big
is there? Look at him next to Drew.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
That is amazing she has. Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
You played last year for New Mexico State, came to Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
What made you become a wildcat?
Speaker 10 (04:50):
Weld cat? The competition for sure?
Speaker 4 (04:53):
The food food really on.
Speaker 10 (04:57):
My official visit, Coach Will took me to Tony's the
State Cause. Oh, incredible.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
Good.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
It is very good food. We've been to or I
have been to? Was it lost Crusaes?
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yes? Not a lot going on there is there?
Speaker 10 (05:14):
Well, it's it's laid back, it's it's a good community
when it's.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
Close to Roswell.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Okay, I went through there.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Yes, yeah, isn't it.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (05:24):
If if you do take a trip out there. I
highly recommend and you visit White Sands.
Speaker 6 (05:28):
I've been there.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
We went through there to Roswell and I've been to
White It's beautiful.
Speaker 10 (05:33):
Oh incredible. The sunsets are gorgeous out there. It's a
different kind of heat and a good community that that
kind of developed me into the Well, tell me.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
About your background, because I saw an interview with you
that I thought was fascinating. I think that's probably the
easiest way for you to start. Just tell me about
your background, where you grew up all that.
Speaker 10 (05:51):
Okay, Well, I'm originally from Montana, grew up there. I'm
in a military family, so that had to move around.
It ended up getting stationed in Colorado, Fort Carson, spent
some time there, and you know, eventually, you know, worked
my way down to New Mexico into the Navajo Nation
and went to high school there. Did did football there.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
When you say Navajo Nation like that on a reservation.
So you played football in a reservation in New Mexico.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
Yeah, yes, And.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Tell me about what life is like there. A lot
of people listening would would have no idea.
Speaker 10 (06:27):
Well, it's it's a very it's humble beginnings. I'll tell
you that it's a very small town and I played
I played football there for two years. Not a lot
of exposure there, not a lot of I guess media
attention or whatnot. Very small football. And there were times
(06:48):
where I only had to play We only played with
eleven guys. I had to play both sides, So I mean,
football wise, you know that happened. But you know, I
enjoyed the school if anything, you know, being around the
teacher and how many people were in your school six
hundred when I first got there.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
All Navajo Navajo majority.
Speaker 9 (07:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (07:09):
I did all sorts of sports there. I did cross
country for a bit.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
You did cross country?
Speaker 10 (07:15):
Yeah, okay, yeah, country nice.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
I guess everybody plays most things right.
Speaker 9 (07:20):
Into shape there.
Speaker 10 (07:21):
But within the Navo nation, it's a lot of rural communities,
you know, spread out throughout, so the commuting is a big,
big part of it. You got to drive a long
ways to see to see family, to get groceries.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
So but but that wasn't where you were when you
were a little kid.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
So what was it?
Speaker 6 (07:40):
But that feels like that would have been a big change.
Was it?
Speaker 9 (07:43):
Big change? Big change?
Speaker 6 (07:44):
Culture shock?
Speaker 9 (07:44):
Of course?
Speaker 6 (07:45):
What was the culture shock? Tell me about it?
Speaker 10 (07:48):
Okay, Well, coming from Montana, I was I was within
the Salish community, that tribe of people there, and those
individuals moved differently, communicate differently, of course. Or is that's
their community. You come out of that community, you go
on to a military base, per se, it's entirely different.
People are more there's a lot more structure and people
(08:09):
are it's more militant, I could say that.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
So it makes sense.
Speaker 10 (08:18):
Then you go from being one of the only Native
American people in Colorado to being surrounded by a bunch
of you know, being back in in your community, the
community that my mother is from.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Did you enjoy that?
Speaker 6 (08:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (08:30):
A good change.
Speaker 10 (08:31):
It's perspective, right, I didn't know it at the time,
you know, being in it, but you know out looking
back in my life.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, and now you're in Lexington. What what what is
that like?
Speaker 6 (08:42):
Been like? It's fun?
Speaker 10 (08:44):
Different again, another another angle to look at life from.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Now you've played not against SEC football, you all beat
Auburn with this year, right, we marched in there.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
So tell me what that was like.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I mean I remember like a Mexic Coast state goes
into Auburn and when that had to be unbelievable.
Speaker 10 (09:02):
Man, it felt so good to be an Aggie that day,
to wear Crimson, to to have our entire team rally
together and just I mean just stare down at our
opponent like that. There were times, man, like the stadium.
I mean it was one of the first SEC games
I'd ever really been a part of. So like the fireworks,
the roar of the crown, I mean, it was captivating.
(09:24):
But we were we were so focused on our objective.
Their coach kill, our head coach at the time, got us,
got us going. You know, Coach Mitchell, my former offensive
line coach, you know, rallied us together. He kept the objective,
the objective and.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Did you play with diego?
Speaker 11 (09:40):
Right?
Speaker 6 (09:40):
Yea.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
So now you gotta beat him this year though, right, Like,
I mean you can't. You can't. Now you're gonna be
playing against him.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
I mean you're not gonna be going up against him,
but you gotta, like you used to protect team, now
you gotta make sure we get out him.
Speaker 6 (09:54):
Right. Yeah, that's it's beat us last year. Can't let
that happen again.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Standing there, I love it, and we go to Aubert again.
So you're gonna get another chance at that?
Speaker 10 (10:07):
Yeah, Yeah, a huge opportunity with this new group of
guys here too, so I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Did you, I mean, did you ever dream you would
get a chance to play football at an SEC school?
Speaker 10 (10:20):
I mean, you know, if I were to tell myself
at a younger age that I'm doing this, I don't
think I'd believe myself. So it's incredibly fulfilling. I'm extremely
grateful and I'm cherishing each and every single day, an hour,
every interaction I have like this one. So I'm extremely grateful.
(10:40):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Mark Stoops was saying when he was here a minute ago,
he looked at me and said, you would really like him.
He's a dude who's very like he thinks deeply.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Would you agree about that about yourself?
Speaker 10 (10:52):
Yeah, I try to see like I always remain curious
about you know, people, opinions, life events.
Speaker 9 (10:59):
You know, it helps me.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
What are your interests like away from football?
Speaker 10 (11:04):
My interests away from football? Well, I like history. I
like reading about the past. It helps me determine the future.
But you know, it gets a bit confusing, so I
try my best to say in the present.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
What are your favorite parts of history?
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Let's it like, if I were to if you were
to sit there and listen read a history book or
listen to a history podcast.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
What are you choosing?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I'm listening right now about the Mehica in Quartes in
fifteen nineteen and all that I've been listening to a podcast.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
What do you listen to during those Well.
Speaker 10 (11:37):
I was for a bit of time reading about Napoleon.
I watched some videos about some of his recent battles,
some of them within the Middle East, some of other
like ancient battles or whatnot. Just seeing how these leaders
command and maneuver their troops. It's pretty cool. And now
(11:58):
you are the head of one of the members.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
But I think most people think gonna be the core
strength of this offensive line. That was a weakness on
this team last year. What do you think it's gonna
be like this year? New set of guys for the
most part except Jagger.
Speaker 10 (12:11):
Yeah, you know, Jagger's done a done a good job,
you know, getting us together, you know, keeping our objective
the objective. We got a lot of you guys, uh
inexperienced ones, and we also have a bunch of experienced
guys coming in from a different We're beasts of no nations.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
What do you think of that? I mean, do you
love it? Do you have the shirts yet? We need
to get the shirts Beasts of No Nations? Well, first
of all, that's what I'm calling it.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
Yes, all right, our offensive.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Line Beasts of No Nation, and it will be you that.
How do I I want to get your name pronunciation right?
How do I say it? Sheaj shiahs okay?
Speaker 2 (12:53):
No?
Speaker 10 (12:53):
No? Iag gyaj like massage, shit yag.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Yaj ship like massage. I got that ship yosh? All right,
Zach Zach Causato. We've never seen him play? Tell me
about him. He's coming over here after you.
Speaker 10 (13:14):
Well, shoot, yeah, he gets his going. You know, I
don't really see him throw the ball when I'm past.
That's good, we don't. I thought that is a good thing.
I don't want to have my eyes on him. You
don't want to be means. So he's good. He gets
the ball out, he tells us to play, you know,
he leads us. You know, he gets a huddle. Right,
(13:36):
he's good. He's a good man to to block for.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Well, I've really enjoyed getting to meet you. I always
have Ryan Lemon here. He gets to ask one question
to each player. So Ryan you're at the bath.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
So he said, you went to Tony's on your visit.
What do you eat now that you're here?
Speaker 11 (13:50):
Like?
Speaker 6 (13:50):
What if you mean?
Speaker 5 (13:51):
Now you get in Kentucky, we're kind of known for
hot browns, and then you tried to sample a lot
of our particular kind of food.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Hot crowns.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
Do you even know what a hot how they is?
Speaker 10 (14:00):
I'm not.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
A hot browns.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
It's a Kentucky staple.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Tell you what's in it?
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Ham, cheese, bacon, biscuits.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
It's awesome.
Speaker 12 (14:14):
You know what I have had? Dad's dad is good. Yes,
I love them. That's what I need to hear. Dads
is very good, very good. Dads is very Football players
go there a.
Speaker 10 (14:25):
Lot, right, Yeah, hold the line throughout the year would
stop in and yeah, they'd serve us up really good.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
We we have we have a sports bar.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
When we open it back up, I want you to
bring your offensive line out one day and we'll get
let you have our We'll have wings and burgers after
a big game.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
How's that sounds good?
Speaker 3 (14:43):
All right?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Thanks, I've really enjoyed getting to meet you. Good luck,
Uh you are? We were saying Deon Walker, who was
last year? You two are the biggest guys I can
remember playing at Kentucky, so looking forward to watching you
play this year.
Speaker 9 (14:56):
Thanks thanks for having me on.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Okay, we will take a break and be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio. We uh eight five nine two. Well,
why am I giving the number? We're not going to
take any calls. He's walking up right now. Here comes
Zach Calzana, the UK quarterback this year. This will be
my first chance to get to speak to the young
Well yeah, the quarterback closest to my age of all time.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
So excited. Yeah, Zach, Thank you very much, sir. So
tell me what are we excited? This is?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Uh, this is you're you're the guy here for a
team ready for a rejuvenation.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
What's the guy? What's it like?
Speaker 9 (15:33):
Oh?
Speaker 13 (15:33):
It's awesome, man. It's been a great experience since i've
been back. You know, the players, the coaches. I feel
like everybody has a great mentality. So that's what was
really refreshing coming in and everybody's just ready to work.
You know, you can feel the sense of urgency since
January and now that we're camping, we're rolling. I think
it's awesome and we've had a really good start and
we just got to keep stacking days.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
How'd you end up deciding to come to Kentucky? I
mean you you had a number of choices. What made
you end up here?
Speaker 9 (15:59):
Yeah? Man, number of choices for sure.
Speaker 13 (16:01):
You know, wasn't sure if I wanted to take my
shot out the league or if I wanted to come
back to school. And you know, when I decided I
want to come back to school, Uh, Kentucky really stood
out to me. You know, being back in the SEC
is something that I've wanted for a long time. I've
been eager to get back. And you know, just meeting
with coach Bush and coach Stoops and you know, getting
a good feel for their mentality and how they feel
(16:22):
going into the season. And you know, coach Bush does
a really good job with the offense. He's a great mind,
and we've got some good weapons. So everything felt good
about it.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
You've been You've played on a number of different levels,
so you know, when you have a team that you know,
very talented, when when something's missing, how do you feel
about this group?
Speaker 13 (16:40):
I feel really good about it from talent perspective. You know,
we're in a really, really good spot and I think
even more importantly from a mentality perspective, where we're in
a we're in a great spot. I think, you know,
from our skill position guys all summer, you know I
could text them.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
What do you mean mentality? Because that was an issue
for this program for the last couple of years. What
makes this this good?
Speaker 9 (17:02):
Right?
Speaker 13 (17:02):
It's it's just been everybody's approach for me. You know,
skilled guys. You know, I text them on a Sunday,
We're gonna throw in an hour and I got you know,
ten eleven, twelve guys out there ready to work, running
full speed. You know, our offensive line, you know, we'll
be in lyfts sometimes and you know you can see
you can see him out there in the sand doing
getting extra work, and they're the last group to leave.
And our running backs too, I think dal Dell in
(17:24):
the addition of Seth and those other guys, Will Cox
and JP, you know, they do a really really good job.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Do you.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
I mean you played at a and M You played
at AUBURNS, so you've played in the SEC. Does this
team have the makeup to be competitive.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
In the lead?
Speaker 10 (17:38):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (17:38):
Yeah, I feel goodbout it.
Speaker 13 (17:39):
I feel really good about it, and like I tell you, guys,
we got a chance, and I think that's all you need.
And now it's just a matter of putting our best
foot forward every day. I think, you know, offensively, we've
had a really good start to camp, but we got
to keep stacking, we got to keep improving. We know
it's gonna be a long, tough season with some tough opponents,
but you know we're built for it and we're getting
ready for.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Your journey's an amazing one.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
I mean you you've been all over the place and
you've been on different levels. You're you're doing Auburn, you're
doing A and M, you're doing that, and then you
end up an incarnate word, which is a completely different thing.
Tell me about what that transition is like, how do
you get yourself because it's a completely different it's like
a different sport in some ways.
Speaker 9 (18:16):
Yeah, it was. It was awesome.
Speaker 13 (18:18):
I think you know, I've said it was a blessing
that I that I needed more than I knew. And
you know, getting there and looking around at you know
the facilities and the you know, the three four hundred
person stadium, it was different. It was a lot different,
but you know, it was kind of it was a
great reset for me, you know, coming off of you know,
being out for a year.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
To humble you a little bit.
Speaker 13 (18:36):
Oh, absolutely absolutely, And you know, I think it's funny
I tell people we had a home we had a
home field advantage because it felt like a scrimmage, you know.
Speaker 9 (18:45):
You had a hundred up. It was. It was parents
and friends in the crowd.
Speaker 13 (18:48):
But you know, I think as a team we embraced that,
and as a player I embraced that, and you know,
just didn't have the facilities, we didn't have the resources,
but it was just all about football.
Speaker 9 (18:57):
You know.
Speaker 13 (18:58):
We said, you know, everybody on this team two things.
Everybody's been told no and everybody loves football, and we
embraced that.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Forgive me forget is it Cam Cam or who was
that that same way? So you've seen the path, yes, sir,
absolutely right, and then is that what you're hoping to follow?
Speaker 9 (19:14):
Yes, sir absolutely.
Speaker 13 (19:15):
And the quarterback before me, Lindsay Scott, you know they
showed me through for forty six hundred yards a year before.
I was like, no question, you know, let me come
do the same thing and just reset and you know,
gain back my love for the game and.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Go back So have you gotten your love back?
Speaker 14 (19:30):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (19:30):
Absolutely.
Speaker 13 (19:31):
I love the sport and you know, just being here
every day, I'm extremely grateful.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
All right Now, I look at that schedule, I mean
we go to Auburn, so like.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
It's right there.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
I mean, I know, yall first games, Tolitoh, I get it.
But there's got to be a part of you that
just sees that right.
Speaker 13 (19:48):
There and it is kind of excited, right, No, it's
definitely exciting to be able to go back there. And
you know, for me, I know I'm gonna have to
tell myself, like, look, this is another game.
Speaker 9 (19:56):
I have to prepare for this game.
Speaker 13 (19:57):
And I think the way I approach every other game,
you know, with with the mentality that I have, I
think it's going to be the same. There's going to
be that part of me that you know, it's Augurn,
it's my old school. But at the end of the day,
it's a football team. And you know, as somebody that
a lot of these guys look to, I got to
treat it the same and and go in the game.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
What you know, what what's the are you?
Speaker 6 (20:16):
Are you consider yourself a leader?
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Like?
Speaker 6 (20:18):
Are you? Do you? Because there's so many guys I mean,
what was he said, what was it? Fifty?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
You know the pate said Pete, he said, what was
the name of all nations?
Speaker 6 (20:28):
What was it?
Speaker 4 (20:29):
The phrase beasts? Like, there's fifty different new players. How
do you make a leadership role with that?
Speaker 9 (20:37):
Right?
Speaker 13 (20:37):
I mean, I think for me coming in, I just
wanted to be the best teammate I could be and
be somebody that could be trusted. And you know that
that's something that I think has to be established first
before your voice has any weight to it. So, you know,
in the spring January, just wanted to be some somebody
that you know is here doing doing what I need
to do. Somebody that the teammates know I can they
can count on, and you know, as as we get
(20:59):
rolling in the camp, just somebody who's whose voice And
that comes from a lot of conversations with you know,
a lot of the other leaders on the team and
just making sure that you know, we're all on the
same page and we're moving in the right direction.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
What what do you do off the field?
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Like, what are your interests away from football?
Speaker 14 (21:14):
Well?
Speaker 13 (21:14):
Shootas I've been in Kentucky, Uh, I joke with people,
I'm either in my apartment or I'm at the facility.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
Okay, Well we got to get you out. Well actually
after this, I mean, I've dabbled.
Speaker 9 (21:25):
I've dabbled.
Speaker 13 (21:26):
I went to Keenland, you know, I've I've gotten to
see some some cool parts of Kentucky and Lexington with But.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
You're you're here for in some ways, here for business, right?
Speaker 9 (21:34):
Oh? Absolutely, I know.
Speaker 13 (21:36):
I mean at the end of the day, it's one
and done for me and that and that's how I'm
treating it.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
Do you?
Speaker 13 (21:40):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (21:41):
And you still obviously have goals and aspirations of the
next level. What's it like working with Mark Stoops and
Bush every week?
Speaker 9 (21:48):
Oh? It's awesome.
Speaker 13 (21:48):
I mean they were a big reason that I came here,
conversations that I had with them. So just to be
around those those coaches and and be with guys with
the same mentality as me, and and just keep preparing
and and whatever we can do every day to get
better and get ready for this.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Have you gotten a feel yet for how much we
hate Louisville, Tennessee?
Speaker 6 (22:07):
And you've gotten that yet?
Speaker 9 (22:09):
I was seen it around a little bit.
Speaker 13 (22:10):
I was, man, I was at a restaurant the other
day and they had a like some Louisville volleyball game
on or something.
Speaker 9 (22:17):
I was like, why do we have that on the TV?
Speaker 6 (22:19):
Did you demand they turn it?
Speaker 9 (22:21):
All?
Speaker 13 (22:21):
Like why is this on the TV? They would change
the channel. So that was funny. But yeah, no, absolutely,
you know I love a good rivalry.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
It's all.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Give me a player. I always think players know this
better than anybody. Give me a player that maybe the
fans don't know that they will know at the end
of the year. Is it a receiver or something that
you would say, hey, just keep an eye out.
Speaker 9 (22:45):
Man, Really, just all of our skill guys.
Speaker 13 (22:48):
You know, Willie Rodrigez, Willie Rodriguez, Joshkatis, two receivers.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
About the law. Tell me about the law kid because
we don't know him.
Speaker 9 (22:57):
Oh, Kendrick, Yeah, he's explosive. Man, he's ready.
Speaker 13 (23:00):
He's one of He's a weapon like I haven't had
in a while, so I'm excited.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
He's tiny, so he's got to be fats, right.
Speaker 9 (23:07):
Oh he's big. Have you seen him close?
Speaker 6 (23:09):
I haven't just from Afar No. I mean, like, well,
maybe he is.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Maybe I just can't get the six foot Oh, well
a lot bigger than he's big.
Speaker 13 (23:17):
Too, man, you know him Jamoor, Macklin, DJ Miller, JJ
Hester still the group.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
All right, Hey, good luck to you, thank you very much,
and let's get some WS.
Speaker 9 (23:26):
Sir, thank you guys.
Speaker 6 (23:27):
All right, we'll take a break, be right back. Heys
are good stuff.
Speaker 11 (23:30):
Man TJ.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Smith personal injury attorney called TJ.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
He'll make him pay.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
All right, welcome back.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
We are now joined by UK's punter who's already been
a guest on this show with Ryan Lemon.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
We had him on when you were off that week
to talk about his toughness.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
Right, is he in person?
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Did you get on the phone on the phone, so
this first time seeing Aidan Larross or punter from South Africa?
Where where did you play last last years? I was
here with the with the no before that you T Martin?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
You T Martin?
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Okay, gotcha because you yeah, you know, I'm good friends
with Max Duffy and he was he was when you came.
He was like this is the dude, So you know
Max obviously. Yeah, So tell me a little bit at
your journey here. What you've been here a year? But
now the job looks to be to be yours. Are
you excited, super excited. I've obviously received some preseason awards.
(24:27):
To me, that doesn't mean much, but I want to
obviously exceed what they've given me. I think that's that's
my goal. Yeah, you got, You've got you. You know,
are taking a job that has some good history with
Max and and our success with punters from overseas. Are
you ready to follow in the footsteps?
Speaker 11 (24:44):
Of course? Yeah.
Speaker 14 (24:44):
I think putting South Africa on the map is a
punter would be amazing. I don't know if it's been done.
I know their few Division one South African players d lineman,
offensive linemen that have gone through and played in the NFL.
Speaker 11 (24:54):
But I'd like to be a punch.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
Well, tell me about your I mean, how did you
end up playing college football? Because you're right, I don't
know of any other South African player.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (25:04):
So my family moved to Chapelhill, North Carolina in twenty seventeen.
So through high school and I joined the football team
to make friends. I played rugby and rugby was my
main sport. I wanted to play for the USA Eagles
and I had a coach in high school that punted
a little bit in the NFL and took me under
this wing. And because of COVID and how it worked out,
(25:25):
I didn't get recruited, but he knew somebody at UNC
Charlotte that pretty much gave me a true walk on spot.
First day of practice, didn't even go to full camp,
and I kind of made my way up.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
I believe, am I right?
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Wasn't there a Kentucky guy that was an assistant or
a volunteer assistant at UNC Charlotte. He was Max's friend.
I can't remember which player it was, do you remember?
But we had their guy for there for a year
or two. But then you went from Charlotte to U T.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
Martin. Is that right? Yes?
Speaker 14 (25:48):
So I walked on to Charlotte, did the kickoff for
my second year, had some good film being the backup
field goal kick and backup punter, and at that time
I was actually more of a field goal kicker. Got
the scholarship to U T. Monito, do all three and
the rest is history. I gotta didn't do as well
as I wanted on field thoals, it excelled at punts,
so I took that under my wing, and I was
like let's go.
Speaker 11 (26:08):
Let's get it done now.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
I have to take I ask specifically for you because
I'm going to South Africa here in six weeks. I'm
going to well, I'm going all over, but I'm going
to Cape Town, Johannesberg and then going to Kruger. You're
gonna go to the Bush, yes, yes, So so tell
me about it.
Speaker 6 (26:24):
What am I?
Speaker 3 (26:24):
What am I in for?
Speaker 14 (26:25):
I mean, my parents are there right now. They just
took four weeks there and they started off in the
bush and the Kruger. They went straight from there to
Cape Town and I mean they've just sent me loads
and loads of pictures. They are cant wait.
Speaker 11 (26:37):
To come back.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Where did you live there?
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Cape Town? Cape Town? So I hear like the most
beautiful city in the world. Tell it's plain to people.
Speaker 14 (26:46):
I mean the just the how we've got the ocean
and the mountains riding the same spot. I mean, it's
it looks like San Diego, but the culture is way better.
I mean I love it. I love it there, Like
what like, what what my in for?
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Great food?
Speaker 14 (27:01):
Good food, great people. People are just going to be
surround you. Everybody's happy and.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
The ocean so they have am I they tell me.
I think they have me. Is there a mountain, white mountain, table,
mountain table, mountain? Tell me about I'm supposed to I'm
supposed to like go to the top of it or something.
I mean, you could do two ways. Is it like
a gondola that takes you up there? Probably the better option,
or you can hike it.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
I probably won't hike it. Probably take the gondola.
Speaker 14 (27:25):
Views up there beautiful. And then right next to it's
the Lion's Head you can go up to too. I
mean the mountain there's regions you can you can hike.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I think we're going to see. Are there some sort
of octopus or is that? Am I wrong?
Speaker 11 (27:38):
Maybe there's a there's an aquarium there.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Okay, there's I think they have me out in the
water for some old boy.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Yeah, are you ready for that? No?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
And there's not a penguin?
Speaker 11 (27:48):
Is there is a Bouldest Beach?
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yeah, we're going there.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
What's that?
Speaker 14 (27:52):
So it's a beach that has penguins and it's like
regular penguins. They live there and you're able to go there,
and uh if you can go for a swim too.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
I'm gonna go say hi.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
To the people and when you say the bush, I'm
spending like three or four nights and I they said
kruger as park.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
I can I call it? Does it?
Speaker 11 (28:11):
Do?
Speaker 6 (28:11):
I sound like a logo if I say the.
Speaker 11 (28:12):
Bush, if you go to the bush? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:14):
So what's what am I gonna see in the bush?
Speaker 6 (28:16):
I hear they have all of the things.
Speaker 11 (28:17):
Yeah, I mean, you'll see see it all.
Speaker 14 (28:19):
It's a It's probably the most beautiful experience you ever see.
It's like you get to see the nature for what
it is and the true wild. It's it's really cool.
And the people there will treat you, treat you like
like like one of them, and they're they're amazing.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
But we're talking like elephant, giraffe.
Speaker 11 (28:34):
Lions, zebra. You'll see it all.
Speaker 6 (28:37):
I see zebra. I want to I want to see Uh?
I want to see a zebra? Do you did say?
Speaker 4 (28:44):
I think we do you still, even though you live here,
feel the connection with with South Africa hundred percent?
Speaker 14 (28:49):
I've only gone there once since since we've left, and yeah,
it's it's still a family that my my dad's side
is still there. We're all my uncles, my aunt's all
there and obviously haven't seen my friends there for a while,
but nothing changes when you haven't seen somebody for that
long with there.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
So tell me about this team and the guys on it.
I mean, you're a little bit older than most of them,
but there's like you like you. There's people from everywhere
and this is a team full of transfers and new faces.
Speaker 14 (29:17):
What's it been like, Yeah, it's been It's been amazing.
I pride myself on getting to know everybody. I'm friends
with a lot of the guys and the team, and
I think the culture is amazing this year. I think
we've come along together really quickly.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Tell me about the different between the culture last year
and this year, because there is a difference.
Speaker 14 (29:33):
Yeah, Yeah, of course there's obviously a difference. Look, last
year's passed, But I mean, I think this year we've
got a tight group of guys that are all together.
Speaker 11 (29:42):
In the same mission. We know.
Speaker 14 (29:44):
We know last year didn't go well. The guys who
weren't there don't care. We like the people who are
there who were there. It's over us, so we're all
together on this.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
You were on here earlier talking about your toughness rating. Yeah,
you said you're a former rugby player, you thought that
was a little kind of disrespectful that happen.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Have you Has anyone from EA reached out and said
it was a mistake or anything, because there's no way,
first of all, you could beat me up. There's no
way that you have a zero toughness rating.
Speaker 14 (30:09):
Yeah, I don't know. We I obviously grew up. Like
I said, a South African rugby player doesn't often get
told that they're not tough. I haven't heard that one before.
But yeah, I don't think if they want to change it,
I hope it's higher. I don't want to if they
put it to fifty or sixty, I don't think that's
almost worse.
Speaker 11 (30:26):
Well, they'll just be zero, you know.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Yeah, but it did get you a lot of attention.
I mean, we're friends with the guys on.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
Pardon my take, they talked about you.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
I mean, is there part of you that's like, hey,
I'm the zero toughness guy.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
Let's go.
Speaker 14 (30:38):
I've obviously taken it. You know, it's any publicity is good.
Obviously I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the
zero toughness. So yeah, I think it's it's.
Speaker 6 (30:45):
Why you would have been here because I had to
learn about South right.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
To be honest with you, I mean I'm because I'm
excited about it, but it also will mean as the
year goes on, you're gonna get attention.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Like it is. I think it actually is going to
be kind of a blessing in disguise for you.
Speaker 14 (30:59):
Definitely, I think people aren't going to be going to
the bathrooms on fourth down as much.
Speaker 9 (31:02):
It's good, it'll be good.
Speaker 5 (31:04):
You gotta just declete somebody one time.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Oh you do have to, Well, they'll get a penalty,
but otherwise you gotta you gotta show it at a point.
Speaker 14 (31:11):
But obviously if it comes down to it, I'll do it.
But obviously as a good punt that doesn't want to
have to make a tackle. You know, that's exactly right. Well, uh,
I appreciate. What's your been your favorite thing about being
in Lexington. I mean, you were in Chapel Hill, so
you were in a college town before. But I love
I think I love I like the vibe. Yeah, I
like the horse racing. I like that it's a it's
a big it's a bigger city, but not too big
(31:33):
for an SEC school. It's great and the things to do.
But also I like I just like the culture here.
It's a good it's a good spot.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
Well, good luck this year.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
We are looking forward to it and I I'm going
to be watching I do the post game show. I'm
going to have uh once I get back from South Africa,
my Aidan la Ross play of the game. So so
just be ready in the postgame show. And I hope
one of them is you just knocked.
Speaker 8 (31:58):
Well what about running a faked Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Do you want to get a chance to do that
in one?
Speaker 9 (32:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (32:05):
That that's up to the coaches, you know, I mean
obviously we but.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
You got I mean you played right, so you got
to be fast for a punter.
Speaker 9 (32:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (32:11):
No, I think I'm quite athletic. Compened the most and
I like to pride myself on that too, you know.
So hopefully we'll see that's.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
What you call.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Yeah, he can call you bowl somebody over, right, because
you remember in that Missouri game, Max called his own
number and uh and that was it worked.
Speaker 14 (32:28):
Yeah, that's all probably. You know, if it works, they
won't say anything. But if it doesn't, your stuff. Thank
you very much and good luck. Yeah, appreciate it. Tell
me about stock toor mortgage Stocktor mortgage. You know it's
a good time to buy spring summer building season. But
the best thing you want to look at. You may
have a lot of equity built up in your home.
You can use that equity to work on your new
home instead of if you buy a new home, you
can maybe build a new deck, new pool, finish your basement,
(32:50):
things like that. That's where Stocking Margage can hold your
hand through the process and get you to the clothing table.
You can get that home in your dreams. We'll give
them a call.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Go online, stock In dot Com NMLS a two five
nine equal housing lender.
Speaker 6 (32:59):
We will take it all right.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Come back, final segment here at UK Football Media Days KSR.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
Welcome back, TEK you Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
It's time for our DraftKings pick of the day. Well,
even though my heart got broken last night in that game,
we still got the cell. Let's not do the game today.
There's a game at twelve forty between the Reds and
the Braves. But let's do the game tomorrow. Not Speedway
Classic Chase Burns versus what Stringer say his name.
Speaker 8 (33:25):
Strider Strider to Tennessee guys.
Speaker 6 (33:27):
To eighty five thousand people will be at the stadium.
Who you got.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
You know, Braves are a lot of redneck NASCAR fans track, Yeah,
you guys are kind of country bumpkin redneck fans. So
I'm going to Braids because we have a lot of
Braves fans there.
Speaker 7 (33:41):
You're a Cardinals fan, I'm going Reds. In fact, I
didn't even really want to win last night. We're taking
so please beat us the next one.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
We need it. We gotta win the next tour or
the summer Velly's over. That's summer.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Velly might be over at three thirty at three thirty today,
but I'm.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
Gonna take the break.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Last night we ended the so give me the Braves.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
If they win the next too, I think the summer
is still going. If we lose, we're not all right.
Jamary Macklin is joining us as our final guest here
on a action packed ks R. Jamory, You're you're one
of the first faces come over here I've seen before,
so it's it's nice to have you back.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Yeah, definitely, I'm happy to be here.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
You know you are kind of You've gone from a
wide receiver that we were saying, Man, we need to
get that guy the ball more too. You're gonna probably
be Option one this year. How excited are you? I'm
very excited, man.
Speaker 15 (34:28):
I'm very blessed to be in this position man, to
be able to leave the guys, man, and I'm just
happy that to be back, you know what I'm saying
to help.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
Some people were a little surprised that you came back,
because you know, you didn't get the ball probably as
much as you thought last year.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
What made you decide.
Speaker 15 (34:42):
To come back, man, I just had a good conversation
with coach Houston, Coach ham then after the season. Man,
I just wanted to come back and be able to
lead the guys and make an impact on what they.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
Say to you. When you said you had a conversation, I.
Speaker 15 (34:53):
Think it was just like we just laid it all
out on the table and how things went. And you know,
they were sorry for their faults and I a, of course,
uh claim my foss as well. You started to get
the ball more as the year went on. Uh oh yeah, definitely, uhud.
The target started to come, so I started to make them.
You know, I say, I just have to be ready,
you know what I'm saying, and not shrinkle down and
just you know, be all in my head.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
I have to keep working in There's been been a
big conversation over the off season about the transition you know,
I mean in the culture of the program from last
year to this year. You don't have to worry about
going over everything last year. But what do you think
are the big differences that have improved around here? Because
we keep hearing culture better, culture better.
Speaker 15 (35:31):
I think the intentionality of all the guys, man. I
think everybody's very intentional on what we need to get done. Nobody's,
like I heard, just being selfish thinking about themselves. I
think everybody's just connected very well and just wanted to
run through a big wall of the coaches in Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
That's important though, and especially in a locker room this
big because it because you know, when John cal Perry
was here, he would say, one knucklehead is okay, but
if you have two, it can ruin the it can
ruin the team. In football, you got you have to
be careful about.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
That, you really do, man.
Speaker 15 (35:59):
So I think that we need to we continue to
have conversations about that, just making sure everybody's on the
same page, man, and just just continue to work.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
You know what I'm saying, Go in and work.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
So tell me about the room. There a lot of
new guys, a lot of young talent. But I know
what I'm gonna get from you. So what am I
gonna get from the rest of these guys?
Speaker 6 (36:15):
Man?
Speaker 15 (36:15):
They bought them boys, all of them nice, all the
young guys, even the guys that we had transferred the
man Troy setlto Kendrick Laud, those guys Man and JJ
Hester and a bunch of those young guys. Man, they
are plug and play guys, so they can plug and
play at any position.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
They bring a lot of juice to the team.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
And Mark was saying, you know, look, I got eight
or nine guys that could play. It's gonna be a
big competition throughout camp. Do you agree with that? I
definitely will, definitely would, And a lot of guys understand
that too. So they just got to go out there
approach like that, trying to win a starting job. That's
just how to how football is his competition. You know,
Zach kl Zada, you know been through the Wars. You
(36:51):
receivers only as good as his quarterback. So what do
you what are you seeing with him?
Speaker 12 (36:54):
Man?
Speaker 15 (36:54):
I've been connected with him very well over the past
couple days of camping throughout summer.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
OTA's as well.
Speaker 15 (36:58):
Man, he's been doing a really good job of just
you know, being patient with me and all the other receivers.
And we've been patient with him because the connection takes time.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
He said, you, he said, he'll call you guys and say, hey,
I'm throwing on the field in an hour, and eleven
guys will.
Speaker 15 (37:11):
Show He would definitely all the time. He usually did
it on Sundays. I don't work on Sundays. That's my day,
is why I spend time my relationship with God in
church and then I go home and rest on Sundays.
But man, he would always do that, you know what
I'm saying. And a lot of the guys did show
up for him, and uh, I appreciate him for you
even doing that.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
You know.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Part of this, uh, part of this offseason, you know,
is fans trying to be energetic for this year. What
would you say, because you are an optimistic, positive guy,
if you're sitting here talking to the UK fans listening,
give me tell them what why they should be excited
about what's coming in the next Pece.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
We already to run through a brick wall. We are
ready to do it. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 15 (37:46):
We we know what last year looked like. We understand
that we are trying to grow from there. We're not
holding it in and and just focus on last year.
But we we know what we got to do.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
And you have to say, a lot the same opponents.
So like a lot of these teams, you're gonna get
a second crack.
Speaker 15 (37:57):
Yeah, that's fine. We need our lock back. You know
what I'm saying. I need my look back from last year.
I don't like that because a lot of those teams
we could have beat. You know what I'm saying. It
was just a few mistakes on ourron. It wasn't that
they just beat us. Uh, But we were ready to
run through a big wall. Man, were ready to do it.
Speaker 6 (38:09):
Do you like?
Speaker 4 (38:10):
I mean, we look at this schedule, we go all right, Georgia,
you know, Florida, Tennessee, Texas this year, barbor Old miss
like you, I would think as a player.
Speaker 15 (38:19):
You gotta be like, I love it. I love playing
teams like that. If you don't, you ain't you in
a row spot. You should love going against teams like that.
I'm ready to play. I don't care who were playing
for real. Let's do it.
Speaker 6 (38:29):
You're real ready to go, Yeah, let's do it. What's
been your favorite part about being in Lexington?
Speaker 9 (38:34):
Man?
Speaker 15 (38:35):
The people. I feel like the people are really nice man.
And being able to fish to a lot of fishing.
Oh you're a fisher. Fisherman, where do you like to fish?
Coach White house, Coach Brown White's house he has.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
At his house.
Speaker 15 (38:45):
Yeah, he has like a little pond or I don't
even know what to call it, but he has that
in the back yard.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
And I love fishing. There.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Has anybody ever taken you like if you got out
in the state, you know, we got some amazing.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Man, I need to you got a little boat of something?
Speaker 6 (38:56):
I know, I don't. I believe me. I wouldn't do that,
but there are people who do.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
Like, Hey, where are some of the places Jagger lives
on Lake Harrington down here?
Speaker 3 (39:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Get him think y'all fishing all the time?
Speaker 6 (39:07):
Jagger's a big officier.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Okay, Yeah, I'll definitely, I'll definitely talk with Jagger. I
didn't realize Brad White had a place to fish in
his house. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Well we've not been invited.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
Yeah, well, I mean, look at you.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
But all right, Ryan gets one question, what is.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
It, dude?
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Receivers are cocky, arrogant bunch of guys. So who's the
fastest guy? Who's your fastest receiver were gonna see on
the field this year?
Speaker 3 (39:28):
Freaking Kendrick d He too fast.
Speaker 15 (39:31):
Sometimes I'm just like, oh my god, slow down, he's
stupid fast him.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Quinton Berry's really fast?
Speaker 11 (39:38):
Uh?
Speaker 15 (39:39):
And Troye Lotos really man. We got a bunch of
the fast guys like they're just out there just running. Man,
I'm just looking like that. I guess I must be
too old to I can't do it. Yeah, so I'm
getting old. I can't host this forever. Probably only got
a few more years left in me. When I go,
which person on the team do you think could host
a radio or TV show?
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Take your spot?
Speaker 6 (39:59):
Brother? You? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Here we go? Really, come on now, I get everybody
on here to listen.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
Let's do it, all right, I'll tell you what then,
all right, I'm gonna test you if you're gonna be
if you're coming from my job. Give me the Cory
Macklin intro to the twenty twenty five season. You are
hosting the show your job. You're hosting the pregame show
for Kentucky and Toledo. Get everybody ready for this game.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
You put me on the spot. I ain't got it.
I thought you ala already. I gotta think.
Speaker 6 (40:26):
I gotta a few years.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
I got a few years, Ok, a.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Few years to get Jamari. Thank you very much, good luck,
have a great I appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (40:36):
Thank you very much. Go get them. There you go.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
Nice to see you, all right, So there you go.
We Uh, that has been a fun lot of show.
I mean, I don't I don't know we've ever had
a show where we did seven interviews through the course
of it. But I actually thought, I'm not just I
think they all were good. I think that was one
of the better Stupids appearances. That is the best Mitch
Barnhardt appearance ever on the show. Love, Pete, Zach Aiden
(41:04):
and now Jamoor. I thought it was great. The players
were all different too.
Speaker 6 (41:06):
You know.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
Pete's like kind of really philosophical.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
But man, when he talks, I'm like holding on everywhere exactly,
you know, Like he even gets me to shut up,
which I can't win. Nobody does.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
How it comes on until he's all business. Then you
got Aiden who come on, he's got something to prove.
And then Maclan's like the cocky aarica and let's go,
let's go play right now kind of guy. I loved
every minute of those interviews.
Speaker 8 (41:27):
It's a great day out here.
Speaker 7 (41:28):
I was already excited for the season before we pulled
up today, but just being in the stadium talking to
the guys, they all have that same message if we
want to play for each other and run through a
wall for Kentucky. We don't know what the final product
will be, but I'm excited to see how it pans out.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Yeah, and I see you get I got my UK
these are these are custom These are my UK shoes.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
You break those up for special occasion's only come out.
Speaker 8 (41:49):
For these were these are specifically krs.
Speaker 6 (41:54):
Oh you got your air monarch.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
When you got your KSR shoes there, But why did
you choose air Monarch?
Speaker 8 (42:05):
I didn't choose them shoes monarchs.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
They do have read in them. Why did you get
red in them? Very patriot?
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Yeah, it's a good point, Tony. And it does say
bound chicken bound bound.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Yeah. Well all right, hey, thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
The folks here at UK this is one of the
better ones I've ever had, so I very much appreciate
them setting it up. Everyone enjoyed the weekend, uh and
we will be back on Monday, and hopefully. I don't
think I'm gonna go to the NASCAR game. Had we
won last night after that comeback, they were probably gonna
get me to go the thing. Now probably you know
I don't want to see the Summer of La end
(42:46):
in person.
Speaker 8 (42:46):
You're gonna miss the pit Bull concert.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
That was part of the reason I didn't go. When
I heard Pitbull was gonna be there, that was pretty
much it. Shannon, I'm glad you enjoyed the game last night.
Speaker 6 (42:56):
Thanks for the tickets, No problem.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
We will see you later.
Speaker 6 (42:59):
