Speaker 3 (01:05):
I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven,
ask anything Wednesday, I'll remind you we are doing interviews
all week Wednesday, Thursday Friday at the bar for server positions, cooks,
et cetera. So all day or we'll go ten I
think it's ten to three today Tomorrow Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
So we'd love to have you. And if you know
people that.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Would be interested, if there are college students, a good
part time job, if you are interested in a longer term.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Job, come see us.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
We have very competitive pay in a fun working environment,
and we opened three weeks from yesterday, so it's coming
back here very soon.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
You excited for that, Drew, very excited. I ordered a
bunch of new photos for us to get her tomorrow,
so I'll be hit Ryan. I'll have another framing and
hanging party soon. Ready to open it and let everyone
end though.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yes, and we will put on sale Monday tickets for
our fan opening dinner, which is I think Thursday, the Thursday,
the twenty first, so just keep that in mind. One
person also wrote me and said, uh, Shannon Harvey would
have loved she.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
Odj Oh absolutely That.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Would have been great to get those two together, wouldn't it. Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:18):
I think she Oz would have loved Harvey as well.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I think that's right.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
What person rights Matt has scuttle Butt Lemon, who was
so good at the twenty twenty five class, heard anything
about recruiting for twenty twenty six?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Nope?

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Are you gonna You're gonna go back into that world
of reporting recruits?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
You were pretty good at it last year.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, I felt like I got some real good information.
Things just changed it. It's happened. Sometimes world burned by
your said.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
But sometime but you know what, nothing ventured, nothing gain right, True,
you put your you put it out there, didn't work,
But that's okay.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I haven't heard anything though about the twenty twenty six class,
so I went for you said about Harvey, he would
have had a blister wreck record.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Oh, he definitely would have. We could have sent loadolo
to him. He'd be back by his next.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Start, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
You know who else I think Harvey would have really liked.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Since if people all say Harvey would have liked RFK
as the health secretary.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
That would have been true.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Harvey would have been what do they call it, say Maha,
make America healthy. That would Harvey would have been on
that trade. I don't think there's a I don't think
there's any any doubt about that. One thing I wanted
to note, And you're seeing some people talk about this
online today, and I think it's a It is an
interesting conversation. The WWE just signed with ESPN three hundred

(03:40):
million dollars a year to put their their twelve pay
per views on ESPN. So they're gonna be on that ESPN.
They're gonna be on the streaming app. They're not gonna
be on the regular network at least they say, but
it'll be on streaming.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
The NFL just announced the NFL Network and NFL Red
Zone are gonna be on ESPN. So with the combination
of for Us Drew, you know, SEC, NFL, and now
WWE on ESPN, you almost have to have that app
at this point, right If you like sports.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Definitely, and I'm someone that I don't really watch network
TV or cable, I will open the ESPN app and
see what's going on, even watching Old thirty for thirty,
I mean, and now you just add all the wrestling funds.
But here's more about them hurting the product at all.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
I mean, if they didn't change it for Netflix, I
don't think they're going to change it for ESPN.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
But but here's what I think is interesting about it.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
So it was three hundred million dollars and that was
the exact same amount that the ESPN is giving the
SEC every year for all of the SEC games.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
And I was seeing people this morning online making the
argument kind of.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
That the SEC may have gotten jipped that basically because
the Big Ten, if you remember, signed a co track
for more than that, and the SEC contract is long term.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
I think we still have like another eight nine years
left in it.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
And the argument was if the WWE's pay per views,
which they only do twelve a year, or three hundred
million dollars every SEC football game, every SEC basketball game,
every SEC women's basketball game, and the SEC network okay,
so think about all that inventory, all the games SEC network,

(05:32):
that basically the SEC should have gotten more money. And
the argument was when we get into this rev share time,
there's gonna be a time these schools wished that they
had signed a bigger deal because when some of these
other conferences come up, they're gonna get more money per
value than the SEC will because the SEC signed a

(05:54):
long term deal for maybe not the right amount of money.
And I have to say, you know, Shannon, if twelve
pay per views for ww and Grant and WrestleMania is
one of them, I get it. Yeah, But if they're
worth that amount.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Of money for US only rights, they still get to
sell it. That's not world rights, that's just US rights.

Speaker 6 (06:14):
I was wondering about that.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
So, I mean, you would think then by the numbers,
they're saying that as many people watch twelve pay per
views for the WWE as watches, but I don't think.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
That's true though, I think more people will watch the
SEC total.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Again, I mean, how many people watch a wrestling pay
per view? A few million?

Speaker 6 (06:31):
I'm not sure, but there are you there are.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
College football games that get more than that. Well.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
I actually think there's a decent argument that r SEC
deal actually ends up looking like it's not worth enough money.
When you compare it, you know, you hear three hundred
million dollars, you go, oh, that's a ton of money.
It is, but the Big ten sign for more, and
when you compare it now to other sports, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Shannon. I mean I kind of think maybe the SEC
should have gotten more.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Or maybe Triple H is just a RT negotiator, maybe
more than what they should.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Have Maybe what do you all think?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
I mean, I would say to me, the SEC deal
for every game, which think about how many games that is,
is worth more than twelve pay per views.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I don't know the timeline, but I assume when they
had cut this deal with the SEC, maybe that was
top market value.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
It was like two years ago. It was like two
years ago, two and a half years ago.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
So you know, good for the ESPN to kind of,
you know, negotiate that deal at the time that maybe
would be worth double that two years later.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
I mean, I don't care, Drew, except for when it
comes to being competitive, right, I mean you always say,
you give the quote. I say all the time, it's
not my money, So what do I care? But I
do hope we don't get to a point five years
down the road where we're still in this contract that
looks like it's not worth as much and it hurts
us to actually be competitive on the field.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Yeah, sure, looks like yes, being out a bargain. You
just look at the poll that came out yesterday, was
it nine or ten SEC teams in the preseason top
twenty five. So, I mean every single week you're gonna
have some great games, and it compared to what they
just signed the WW for, and it may, especially in
a few years, it's gonna look like they got a
nice little bargain on getting the best conference in football.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah. Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
And now, Shannon, you know, with all these things, got
the NFL WB.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
All in the espn uh.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
You know, a lot of opportunities for Uncle Matt potentially,
or they could just ignore me for.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
All of them.

Speaker 8 (08:25):
I'm sure expert an expert, well, definitely an NFL expert
now all right, yeah, yeah, I mean they had talked
to me about a year ago about hosting a WWE
pay per view pregame show with Booker T.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
What yeah, And I was like, oh, I'd love to
do that. And then about.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
A month later they announced the show and it wasn't me,
it was Booker T and somebody else, And I was like, well, oh.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Well, young, what was the guy named the guys that
replaced you that one time?

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Wrote?

Speaker 4 (08:57):
It was not you, youngb suck, It was the guy city.
It was a guy in New York he's been on
a bunch of stuff, Peter Rosenberg or something like that.
I understand like he's done a bunch of stuff for them,
So it made sense to me.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Who's up.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
He could have been the other half of Harlem Heat
I could I.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Was supposed to be Stevie red Hunter Hunter Go ahead,
Hunter Hunter, Yes, anytime you're ready? Now, all right?

Speaker 7 (09:24):
I got h two questions.

Speaker 9 (09:27):
One, if Otego was there for Kyle's last year Kentucky,
what it affected the outcome of the season, and what
he would have left with him for Arkansas. Second question
with the revenue share or we're thinking like what's North
Carolina gonna do with their football programs? Stuff like that?
What the heck is that Alabama gonna do with two

(09:48):
elite program.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah, I mean Matt Well, Matt Norlanders said on my
Interrupted podcast. I asked him what programs would be most
effective effected negatively by ramps share. I don't know if
you all heard this, but if you listen to my
Interrupted podcast, we talk about this. I asked him what
programs will be affected most positively, and he said Kentucky Duke,

(10:10):
and then he mentioned those big East schools, Saint John's
Connecticut and Villanova and Marquette. But then I asked him
which schools were gonna be most affected negatively, and Drew
he led with Alabama and Auburn. He said Alabama and
Auburn basketball they're gonna take the biggest hit because he
said there's no way their football programs are gonna sacrifice
the money, and he even then mentioned Arkansas as well.

(10:32):
He basically was like, he kind of thought the schools
that would take the biggest hit are the SEC schools
not named Kentucky and Florida. He thought there were people
at Florida that would still really push that, but he
kind of thought Alabama and Auburn might take the two
biggest hits.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Definitely, they're both new to basketball success in the last
decade and Auburn especially. There's a hunger to get football
back where it needs to be because Bama football has
still pretty much been Bama football. So it'd be interesting
to see if that fan base likes this run with
Bruce Pearl where they've doubled their conference championships under Pearl,
or do they want to get back to winning the
Iron Bowl because it'll be hard to do both.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
She'll be hard you're right, and that might be why
Bruce Pearl seems to be sniffing at running for senate.
Is he might be seeing the riding on the wall
and thinking, I don't know if this is gonna be
the path.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
As far as the first question, Ryan, I don't know
if Otaga away is a cow player? What do you think?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yeah, you know you got read Rob and Antonio reeves.
Those three guys on that team, all those guys, that's it.
Where's he gonna play? Where's he gonna get on the
f on the floor. As great as Otaga was, I
might take the other guys over him last year that year.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Although col did like dudes who were tough and would
take it to the basket more than he did shooters, so.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Maybe he would have been a cow player. I don't know.
It's hard to say. Who's next, Doug, Doug, go ahead, Doug.

Speaker 10 (11:59):
Hey, guys, since it's asking anything Wednesday, there's something one
of your all's opinion on for a long time. So
we know that Jerry West is the logo of the NBA.
Not sure that he should still be, but he is.
Who is the logo of UK athletics, both male and females.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Well, so, you know, that's a good question. I appreciate
the call.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
I mean female, let's start with female, is it Sidney
McLaughlin Ryan.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I thought, man, you're talking just basketball basketball logo.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Okay, if you're talking basketball, then I don't know.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
I mean, we mentioned the other day the three or
four kind of best players that would does one stand
out to you of that group?

Speaker 5 (12:50):
If I were in charge, I'd probably make it Dani Isel,
just because he's the leader in points and rebounds. I
know it's been a long time, but those two records
have stood for a while and probably aren't going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
And it's a similar era. It's a similar era that
Jerry wesh sure.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
With Anthony Davis as a close second.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, you're probably right.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
If you go that line of thought, then his Valerie
is still the female one. She's actually the scoring leader.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
I have Matthew Mitchell doing the Dougie as the winner logo.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
I like those picks. I think that I think those
are those are probably pretty good picks. Shannon War of
the World's apparently there's a new War of the World.
I didn't know. I did not know it existed until
earlier today, and it stars Ice Cube.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Is that right? That's right, yep, And it has a
zero on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
How is that possible?

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Not one literally has.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Literally has the worst reviews of a film that has
come out of a certain budget in the last since COVID.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Now I want you to think about that for a minute.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Since COVID, every movie and I don't know what the
amount is, but every movie that's been made for a
certain amount of this movie has the worst reviews of
any Shannon, I would never see War of the World's
but now I kind of want to see.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
Oh yeah, this makes me want to see it. First
of all, it brings awareness to the fact that even exists,
because I didn't even know it existed until this morning.
But now I do want to watch it just to
see how bad is it?

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Like how bad has ice Cube's career falling off a cliff?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
I would argue, you'd rather have a zero Drew than
have like a twenty, because I now wonder how bad
can this be that it hasn't even gotten one positive review?

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Like it must be.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
So bad that now I almost want to see how
could it be that bad?

Speaker 5 (14:51):
Me too, didn't know this existed till it was mentioned today.
It's kind of like the Aiden Laros with the zero
toughness punning. We don't talk about the punter if he
doesn't have that zero, So we don't talk about Ice
Cubes new movie. If it's not as zero, if it's
just middle of the pack of the worst movies, don't
even know what exists. Now I will make a point
to watch it just to know how awful it is.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
And it's you.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
It's on Prime.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Oh, it's already out, so it's not in a Theay.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
No, you can watch it like right now if you
want to.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Okay, all right, so I think we should watch it.
Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
I mean I haven't seen a War of the World's.
I mean I know they had a couple a few
years ago. I haven't seen any of them. So I
hope I will be able to keep up.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
With the story.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
But but Ryan, would you want to watch the zero
movie War of the Worlds?

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Let's do it? And you said it. Would you rather
have a zero than a twenty? Because now we would
never be talking about if it was a twenty?

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Okay, we Care's the thing. If you're listening, we have
a group homework assignment. Okay, by Monday, by Mondays.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
What are they? What are the reviews say?

Speaker 6 (15:53):
I was rooting for the Aliens.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
I was ready for the alien beyond.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Believe land and boring the world's awful? Was this the
student project?

Speaker 3 (16:02):
This is a great I love it all right.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
So for for between now and Monday, that is our
homework is that you have to, uh, you have to
watch War of the Worlds.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
I'm told that WLAP just went off the air.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
This company and their technology is unbelievably Hopefully the rest
of you are still hearing it. Maybe we're talking into
the void. We'll take a break. Be right, bag, It's KISR.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Welcome back.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Take you sports radio the same in sponsor by corn
Bread Hemp. They've got the gummies, they got the seltzers,
the oils, et cetera. Help make you sleep and relax.
They change the way I was able to sleep. You
go to cornbreadhimp dot com promo code KSR twenty percent
off your first order. Once you try it, I think
you will agree with me, even if even if you
don't use it for sleep, if you just use it

(16:50):
for relaxing. It's at cornbreadhimp dot com. This is the
good life. Last Night, Ryan a record the fastest ball
ever hit.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
For a home run. Lourie. I don't know how to
say his name. How do you say l o U
R des.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Lords Gury l Junior of the Diamondbacks hit one hundred
and three point nine mile per hour home run fastball
from a guy named Mason Miller, who I think throws
faster than He made the league through one hundred and
three point nine and he hit a home run. It
is the It is the fastest ball hit for a
home run of all time.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Run man, It's crazy. I mean, pitchers are throwing the
ball faster, guys are hitting it harder. Just every year,
just the bigger, better, stronger, faster. Makes me wonder how
all these records are not gonna be just obliviated in
the year's ahead.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
It's amazing. One hundred and three point nine, that's hard
to even fathom. But uh, he's thrown The guy who
threw the pitch has thrown it up to one oh
four point five.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
That's insane for the A's.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Now he plays for the Padres, so that's why we've
probably never heard him. I had Pablo Tore on my
Interrupted by Matt Jones podcast.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Think I think people will enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
We talk about Rick Patino, we talk about Bill Belichick,
and that's most of the show because he's really fascinating in.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Both those stories.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
A lot of the stuff about Patino you all will know,
but it's fun to talk about with somebody else. But
he also said two things Drew that I thought you'd
find interesting. Number One, do you we've talked, I think
before about the Yankees wife swap?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Right? Do you remember that the two guys that changed families?

Speaker 7 (18:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Uh, he said, by the way, and I didn't know this.
So remember there were two players. They were like swingers
on the baseball team. They decided to change wives and families.
Did you know that one of those two is still
married to the woman that he switched with.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
No.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Also, didn't they like swap children too?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
They swapped everything. They just changed houses. This was so weird.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
But I'm not surprised that one of the two relationships
didn't work. But aren't you surprised that the other one did?

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yes? Yes, I didn't know that until he said it.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
And Second, and Shannon, this probably won't shock you. You
remember Total Request Live?

Speaker 6 (19:24):
Oh yeah, trl trl.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
You remember they would do the top ten every day?

Speaker 6 (19:28):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
Yeah, Pablo Torre proved on his podcast it was rigged.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
They would tell you to call in and vote.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
They never took the votes, They just ranked them based
on what they wanted to play.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
Doesn't surprise me at all.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
You know, MTV was going to basically force feed you
the bands that they wanted you to hear, didn't matter
what people really voted, So that doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
It didn't really shock me. But now we have official
word that TRL was rigged. People were not calling in
for n Sync and Limp Biscuit no as much as
you thought they were during the time.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
But that was MTV's narrative.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
They wanted you to like that music, so they wanted
you to see that it was number one every day
on the top ten.

Speaker 6 (20:11):
Now we know it's a lie.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Now we know it's a lie. So so yeah, check
that out that episode if you get a chance.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
What's next, Jackson, Jackson, Go ahead, Jackson.

Speaker 11 (20:20):
Hey, Matt, I was just wondering about what you think
of the Reds. They beat the Cubs twice, hopefully about
to sweep them, and I saw something that said they
have a thirteen point eight percent chance to make the postseason.
So I was wondering what you thought about.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm not, Jackson,
but I have enjoyed it. You know, they lost that game,
the Bristol game, and I kind of thought that might
be up. And now they've won the last two. They're
new guys played a big role. I know you appreciate defense.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Ryan.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Did you see that play key Brian made last night
at third base.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
One of the bare handed through the game out that one. Yeah,
that was one of.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
The best playing. The pitcher played well, and they get.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
So both you are like, yeah, your new acquisitions won
that game for you.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Last ye Yeah, so you know they play this afternoon, Jackson.
I don't know if they'll win that, But then they
got four straight against the Pirates.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
They need to win three of those.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
If they if they win three of the four against
I'm gonna be at the game Saturday and Sunday, I'm
going up there. If they win three of those four, Jackson,
or they win today, so three of the next five,
then I'm on board.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
And you and I can start getting excited. All right,
all right, So.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
He didn't sound too exciting now he hung off.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
He was gone, Yeah, I mean I don't want to
believe Ryan, because I feel like it's just a good
way to get hurt.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
But it faced good. They've won the series at Chicago
that was.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Exciting, and they've got the schedule ahead of them that
they could actually make.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Some well this week, then it starts to get really hard.
They play like all the best teams down the stretch,
so it's gonna be a tough. But I want to
thank them. They've given me a lot of enjoyment this year.
I've really enjoyed it.

Speaker 6 (22:04):
What's next sounds like somebody's going to renew next year
for their season.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Take yeah, I am. I mean next year.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
To be honest with you, the next two years is
what they've been building for.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
It's twenty six and twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Now, I will say if they don't make the playoffs
one of those two years, but go ahead and go
on record, Shaan and not renewing in twenty.

Speaker 6 (22:19):
Eight, Okay, all right, they got twenty.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Six and twenty seven to get me.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
I'm writing this down.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Because then all their players their contract, like they've got
their core for the next two years, and that's what
I'm That's why I'm still.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Holding out hope what's next, Bob, Bob, go.

Speaker 7 (22:35):
Ahead, Bob, good mine.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Yes, got one minute, Bob.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
I'm pressed with the interview with a sad Is that's
the way you pronounced his name.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
His name is not a That was the former leader
of Syria. His name is hiaj.

Speaker 7 (22:55):
Chiage. Yes, I'm not not a SOD. I'm I'm a
crow member dropped by the Crobble from Montana and I
wondered they played a lot of seven man football in
that area and now Southwest and I just wondered if
he participated in the seventh man.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, I didn't hear that he did.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
He said he played eleven on eleven but they only
had eleven guys. But uh, he may have done that,
but he he didn't say one way or the other.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
So I don't know.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
And you were talking about Cortes. Uh, there's a place
to help marrow.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
To let you go. I'm sorry. We'll take a break.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
TJ Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
He'll make them pay.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
Now starton mortgage.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Here's Matt Jones, welcome back Tecki Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Uh some breaking news seeing it running on AH. The
SEC has announced the basketball opening and closing weekend schedule.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
They are opening.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
They have decided every year to open SEC play every
year with powerhouses playing and then make the last Saturday
of every season Rivalry Saturday, so the opening weekend for Kentucky,
they will play on the road at Alabama January third,
Their first game in SEC play will be at Alabama,

(24:21):
and they will close the season at home on Rivalry
Saturday against Florida in the final home game of the year.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Do you like that, Drew?

Speaker 5 (24:32):
I love it, and I have a prediction. March seventh
will be for the SEC regular season Crown Kentucky, Florida
and Lexingtonparino winner wins the conference.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
I like that. I don't. I don't think that's a
bad prediction.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Actually, I love the Alabama when to start it, I'd
prefer a home game, but whatever, you gotta go to
Alabama eventually. Let's just get it out of the way.
I love how those are the book ends on the schedule.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
And that'll be the only time we play Alabama all year,
by the way, so only time we Alabama all year
will be there.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Home and home, not home and home.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
No, we play our home and home teams are Florida,
Tennessee and Vandy.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Vandy.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
So it's back to Florida Tennessee Vandy again. So that
game against Alabama on the road is the only time
we'll see them all year long. Ryan, do you like
opening with Alabama and closing a home of Florida.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
The thing I like the best is that the Florida
game closing out is at Roperena. I thought for sure
when you started that they were going to end at
Tennessee or at Florida's the rivalry game on the road.
I thought for sure you're gonna say that. So the
fact you've got Florida, the defending champs at home, yeah, absolutely, bring.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
It all right. I like it. So there you go.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
That is your SEC Updates schedule. They should have the
whole schedule here probably pretty soon. The women's schedule came
out yesterday. Yeah, the SEC schedule, So you got to
think the men's will come out soon after Shady Rays.
We are at Shady Rays on Friday. We will be
doing our remote there in Lexington at the summer. Remember

(26:04):
fifty percent off all Shady Rays in Lexington on Friday.
Plus I may spice it up with some ticki ticks.
So all you gotta do is come to Shady Rays
Lexington and Summit should be a fun show. I think
the weather is the weather's supposed to be good. I
was gonna say it was gonna be good, but I
realized I have no idea if it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Be good or not.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Yeah, I think it's supposed to be really good.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Really good good.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
As soon as it's over, I'm hopping in a car
and heading up to Pittsburgh. So Shady Rays Friday at
the Summit, we will see you there.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Who's next? Shiit? Jordan? Jordan? Go ahead, Jordan.

Speaker 12 (26:39):
Hey, guys, I watched the Any Given Saturday Netflix doc.
Kentucky's not really in it. They don't cover us during
the South Carolina game, just their perspective. In the last episode,
we get like ten minutes where they cover Harrison and
then they say we're playing against Louisville for pride and
then show us getting destroyed. So that's done.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Yeah? Is I understand it? You tell me if this
is right, if you've seen the whole thing. The South
Carolina episode is centered around South Carolina, but the Kentucky
Louisville episode looks like it was supposed to be centered
around us, but then we lost and so they didn't
do a whole lot in it.

Speaker 12 (27:19):
Yeah, they showed a lot of like practice and stuff.
They have like Mac, they have Harrison talking to Dion
and you know, all those guys, and then there's a
little bit of it, but then it clearly they were like,
oh yeah, Kentucky's gonna play for Pride. They show Harrison
like doing his homework in the hotel room, which is interesting,
and then and then they just show highlights of Louisville
just destroying us.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Is the show good overall? Like, is it a good show?

Speaker 12 (27:43):
It's it's very repetitive. I watched the first four episodes
and I was like, this is the same like thing
over and over again. They show a lot of LSU
and then I actually skipped episodes five and six and
just went straight to Hours and skipped through that too.
They do cover Vandy during the Alabama week, and I
was like, oh, yeah, this will be a great So.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Yeah, I heard they have a really cool shot.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
They're on the field with the fans as their as
their storm. Somebody told me, if you didn't like Diego
Pavia before, you'll really not like him after this.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Is that true?

Speaker 12 (28:18):
One of his roommates talks to him and he's like, dude,
you got a suck cussing in public?

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Okay, well I'm gonna watch it.

Speaker 12 (28:27):
And he's like, yeah, you did it at the restaurant
the other day.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Yeah, well okay, well listen. I appreciate the information. Have
you all watched any of it?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
The three of you?

Speaker 1 (28:37):
I have to see any of I watched the first
episode last night. It was all Brian Kelly and Shane
Beemer and the two guys I like the least in
the entire conference, but stomach through the first episode.

Speaker 5 (28:47):
Same as Ryan. When Brian Kelly was the first fifteen
minutes I had it on and I was like, I'd
rather not start with him.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Not a fan, Yeah, I mean I love anything, but
behind the scenes. Did anybody know did Hard Knocks deal
with Harston or Walker or Davis?

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Do we know the first episode last night?

Speaker 5 (29:06):
That's on my watch list tonight. I have not seen
any spoilers. I assume if they were heavily featured, that
would have been circulating on social media, but I have
not seen it.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
I got to get their War of the World's first.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
I would have thought.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
I would have thought with Davis's story and Harrison. I
would think they'll be on there at some point. But
but we'll see.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Who's Josh Allen got married. That'll be probably be featured.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Oh to you mean the other Josh Allen.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yeah, the Hill's Quarterbackiela Fallow him around done, don go ahead,
don hey man.

Speaker 13 (29:40):
I was listening to sports radio and on two different
unrelated sports it was go time. Well, I'd like to
know is when or why is it go time? When
is go time over? And who gets to declare? And
why they can't be a talking hit.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
You mean, like go time in a game.

Speaker 13 (29:57):
Go time for whatever. This was like an they were
talking about and you know, like before the season started
or some you know, anytime whenever, anybody, whenever you think declared.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Well, So here's what I think, generally speaking, and I
appreciate the call generally speaking. I actually had to talk
about this in my interview with Terry Minors yesterday. I
hate Shannon cliche. Like, one of things I hate about
media is the way people have to do segments right.

(30:30):
Like I really hate segments on shows when they're like okay,
let's play deal or no deal, let's play fact or
fix you know, all those kinds of things. Really, it's
just a way of we gotta have something to say,
so let's call it a game. Announcers are like that too,
with things like he's really stepping.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Up, or it's go time or whatever.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
I just think that's kind of you're just leaning back
on something because you don't have anything interesting to say,
so you go back now. I do like catch phrases,
like when people will say string back when I was
a kid string music in Kentucky. But in general, when
I hear things like go time, that guy's right, like,
what does that even mean? It's go time and it

(31:14):
always go time, I always kind of just roll my eyes.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Well, I guess it's talking time a lot of the summer.
But now we're getting down to the last, you know,
thirty days before football season, Now it's go time.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
I think that's probably what they mean.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Probably are you do you, Drew? I feel like you
We've talked about this. When we were playing in our
NFL show, Billy was like, do we want to have segments?
And I said, I hate segments. I think they're kind
of stupid.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
But yeah, they get a little cheesy. I know you're
your ESPN employers big on them.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
We got two segments scheduled for this afternoon. You know,
I don't, I don't. I don't want to make fun
of them. But we like these shows. They all have
segments and you know you have to do them. But
I like, right right now today on the ESPN radio,
I'm gonna have to do NFL two a day's and
the two we have are the Bears, which actually I

(32:03):
could do and shann In your Packers?

Speaker 3 (32:05):
What should I say about your Packers this? After that?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
They're gonna win the Super Bowl? That's really all you
need to say, Aaron, But.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Can you give me any information about him?

Speaker 6 (32:12):
Yeah, Jordan loves their quarterback.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
I do that.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
Yeah, that's about it. I don't know right well, they
kept up with them at all in the off season.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
As you you're gonna hear me b yes about it
for for.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Ten minutes today. What's next, Jeff, Jeff, go ahead, Jeff.

Speaker 14 (32:30):
Hey, guys, hey, do you have any idea why UK
is doing the Family Day during the Texas came to cheer.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Family Day?

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Is that where you get to bring your kids for
like a reduced price or something.

Speaker 14 (32:45):
Yeah, you know they usually do it against sink for
the parents coming in because the kids.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
They Oh, you mean like parents' Day or do you
mean like family day?

Speaker 7 (32:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (32:55):
Yeah, it's like they call it family day that it's
more like parents' day.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Oh for the college students, Oh, I don't know. You're right.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
They usually do that in a game where it would
be easy to get tickets. I am surprised that they
would do that for Texas because presumably that's gonna be
kind of a hard ticket.

Speaker 14 (33:12):
It's gonna be a very hard ticket. We usually get
an R hink Jesus.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
I have not heard, but that is maybe they just
maybe they were hoping to find a way to not
have that stadium filled with Texas fans since it's the
first time they've come.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
That's interesting. I appreciate the call, Drew. Why do you
think they did that? Yeah, because usually parents days when
we play like Vandy or something.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Just a complete guess. But we only have two home
games with Keenland. Maybe they try to line it up
with that. The other's Tennessee. So if you're picking up
the two, Texas has never been here. I don't know,
but just Keenland being that time, maybe they want to
have they combined the parents in the football weekend.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
How much do you think we're gonna get invaded for
that Texas game.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Coming that I believe will be the hardest ticket all
season due to Texas fans coming into our town and
buying all the tickets.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Well, they might be number one.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
Yeah, it's true, you know.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
I mean, there's a decent chance they'll come in and
they'll be the number one team in the country.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
I think you're gonna see.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
I think that Saturday in Lexington has a potential to
be because Keenland's going on.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Too, has the potential to be like an insane.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Saturday because if I was a Texas fan, you've never
been here, Keenland's here, Like, why wouldn't you go? I mean,
you're gonna see I think you This sounds crazy, but
I think you could see thirty to forty thousand Texans
Texas fans here.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
Oh I'm expecting it. And you know, Kentucky football doesn't
really move the needle in the SEC, but Lexington might
be the number one destination.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yea, it really is.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
I mean people can go to Nashville, people have been
to Nashville, but I mean you're gonna go to Auburn, Alabama, Tuscaloosa,
Kentucky has Keenland going on bourbon trade else city. It
is a it's a place where when your school doesn't
get to go there very often, you want to make
sure you take advantage of it.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
That one the same way we wanted to go to Austin.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, exactly, like when we played there last year, everybody
there were a lot of people that really wanted to go.
I expect, you know, I expect they're going to be
some games this year.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Old Miss.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
There're gonna be a ton of Old Miss fans up here.
There will there. I mean, there's gonna be a ton
this was there. That'll be their first big game of
the year, just like it is ours. It's here we
beat them last year, so they feel like they want revenge.
I think you're gonna see both for Old Miss and Texas,
just obscene crowds of their fans here. And obviously Tennessee

(35:47):
always does that. Yes, So I mean three of our
what three of our seven home games, I would just
expect to see just massive amounts of the Tell me
about Stockton mortgage.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Stockton Mortgage. A lot of people are like him and
ask me, you know, should we go ahead and try
to do a refinance and minile the rates are high.
You need to talk to them, man, just sit down.
They'll talk to you. They'll go over all your options.
You may do something. They say, hey, once you wait
one more year, if the rates go down, then do
it so you can trust them. And I trust him
for years doing my own mortgage and referring customers to them.
So give them a try. Stockton Mortgage. Go to the

(36:23):
website Stockton dot com and there's a button right there
says get started. They'll link you up with a loan
officer you all across Kentucky, even outside of Kentucky. They
can help you refinance, do a cash out refinance, do
a helock. They can do it all for you. Stockton
Mortgage nmls A two five nine equal Housing.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
Linderright, I'm gonna have to go lock in so that
the ESPN people tell me what we're doing today. So
these guys are gonna take you through the final segment. Uh,
Drew or see me Ryan. I'm gonna mention Devin Key
at one o'clock and that he got it against against
voting ohe Nicks.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Yeah, I'll be.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
On ESPN from twelve to three. If you're bored, please
flip over. We will take a break. We'll be back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Welcome back Kentucky Sports Radio. Ryan Drew and Shannon. That's Tiffany.
Either team Tiffany or your team Debbie Gibson.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Back in the day, Shannon, I didn't even know there
was a Debbie Gibson. Tiffany was the only name that
I recognized from the eighties.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Yeah, she was kind of the little you know what
a ski one? Debbie Gibson was like the goodie two
shoes win.

Speaker 6 (37:21):
But what was her song?

Speaker 1 (37:23):
I can't think of it. With Tiffany going on right now.
She had a couple of hits.

Speaker 6 (37:27):
Everybody knows this one.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
I think We're Alone now, Yeah, yeah, which I don't
even think was her song.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
I think that was out before that before her.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
And they both got popular, didn't They both get popular
by going to shopping.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
Malls across the country. Tiffany. Tiffany was on Full House.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
That's how I remember, all right, Ryan Drew and Shannon Here,
I got one segment here. If you want to call,
we'll get you on real quick. Eight five nine two
eight h two two eighty seven. That's the Clark's published
my phone number. So, Drew, there is a Kentucky Little
League coach that is uh going viral right now. I
believe he's coaching the Eastern Little League All Star team

(38:00):
in the regional tournament. Is that right correct? And he
makes a mound visit.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Shannon.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
You know you've been there. You're the pitcher. Coach comes out,
talks to you. But obviously the stakes a little higher
when it's the regional tournament. You're trying to get to
the Little League World Series, big crowd, you're on the road,
big stadiums.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
People watching at home on TV.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
This was on ESPN, crying out loud, huge moment for
Eastern Little League that produced Walker Beeler. By the way,
Eastern little League and this this coach comes out and
he did he did something that's gone viral, and we
want to play it for you, So go ahead, Shannon.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I don't have that many funny ones. Oh I got one.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
Do you know that a koala bear is not actually
a bear? It's a marsupio.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Do you know why kowala bear is a bear?

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Is a marsupio not a bear?

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (38:55):
I know it doesn't have the qualifications.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
And then he walks off. That was the entire mound visit.
It's a huge point of the game. He goes out,
brings his infield in his picture and he tells the
joke about a marsupial. I loved every second of it.
Me too.

Speaker 5 (39:13):
If I had that little league coach, I might have
stuck with baseball with that kind of attitude. Ryan, you've
been in that spot. Does that help the picture?

Speaker 7 (39:21):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (39:21):
If you're just talking nothing about baseball and you know,
telling a joke or keeping their mind off on something else.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Well, these are these are twelve year old kids, you know,
and they feel it. They know, man, this tight game.
They're trying to win, and you know, advance. So I
was coaching eight year old there's my story, Shannon, and
it was a huge game. Matter of fact, Dante Key
was the other coach. We were playing Dante's team head
to head, first place up for grabs in south West

(39:48):
Little League Southwest Pony, I'm sorry and big part of
the game. So I called time out in the eight
year old game, Shan and walked to the mound, called
my infield in and I'm like, tell me what I
want what I really really want. Yeah, I tell you
what I want, what I really really want. I want
you guys to get this guy out, walk back to
the dugout. That was my that was my mound visit.

Speaker 6 (40:10):
Did they laugh? Did they get it?

Speaker 1 (40:11):
I mean they probably had never heard the song.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
Every Girls even a big thing.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Then well no, they had no idea who the Spice
Girls were. Didn't know what I was doing, but I
like this coach was doing for this. You just tried
to just I mean, it's baseball, it's supposed to be fun. Yeah,
don't be upset.

Speaker 6 (40:27):
What don't we say at that moment? Anyway? And throw
a strike? I mean, the picture knows how to pitch.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
At this point, there's nothing you can really say unless
you're talking strategy. At that point, I think the main
object is to get out there and just to break
up the rhythm of the picture, right, make them laugh,
make them smile and think about something else for a second.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
My college coach at Kentucky Wesley and Denny Potts, was
like five foot three. When he would make a Mounain visit,
he would go shan it and stand on the rubber
so he would be as tall as all the other
players make them kind of stand down the mountain a
little bit. So I out the coach Drew played it perfectly.
Just try to have some fun, enjoy the moment, enjoy baseball.

Speaker 5 (41:06):
It's a great joke. They did have to come home.
That was the end of the road for our Kentuckians.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
So the Marsupial joke didn't work.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
It didn't well, we don't know. That didn't work. Maybe
it helped that picture in that moment, but it was great.
It's gone viral, some nice attention for him. But it
was the end of the road for the Kentuckians.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Maybe he should have told a better joke.

Speaker 5 (41:24):
No, that's a good one, that's a great one.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
I could tell you what My mound visits were not
as pleasant from my playing days.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
From Scottie Weigan.

Speaker 6 (41:33):
Yeah, Scotty Wig wasn't telling any jokes.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
He ain't messing around, telling your ass.

Speaker 6 (41:36):
Could throw a striker, you're gonna get yanked out there.

Speaker 5 (41:39):
What age group did you say, you saying spice girls
through eight year old. Yeah, they probably weren't very familiar.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
They had no idea, but I thought that was a
good way to do it. Tell me what I want,
what I really want. I'll tell you what I want,
what I really want once you get this guy out.

Speaker 6 (41:50):
I mean like nineteen ninety six when this happened.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
No, no, it was like two thousand and ten.

Speaker 5 (41:55):
It's good to know coach Lemon's tactics though.
