Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones welcome back.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I re number two Kentucky Sports Radio A five nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is
seven seven two seven seven four five two five four.
It's very interesting to me looking at comments. True, the
text machine is infinitely nicer in its comments than Twitter,

(01:27):
which makes me think, do you think Twitter attracts the
meanest people on Earth? Mario's shaking his head. Yes, And
it's gotten much worse. And I'm not on it nearly
as much as I used to be. Like, the text
machine is anonymous. I do have your phone number, I guess,
but it's anonymous. But people say the nicest things. Their

(01:50):
critiques are not mean spirited. They're usually in the benefit
of like just offering an other argument. And I get
hundreds of them a day, and I don't you know,
I read the vast majority. I'm not gonna say I
always see every one of them, but I read the majority,
and I they are actually a very affirming thing and interesting.
And then Twitter, Twitter, I think a mat like brings

(02:15):
out the worst of humanity. You can take a person
that's a pretty good person, put them on Twitter and
they'll be calling people just terrible names. And then if
I respond and say something nice. They'll usually go, oh, man,
you know, it's just kidding. It's just Twitter like a sport. Yeah,
it's like but human. Yeah, and like and there's another

(02:39):
human on the receiving end of it. Facebook is bad,
but it's mostly just old people who don't know how
to do anything else on the computer and so they
don't know other people can see it. Yeah. I mean,
like I don't Facebook. I really now only get on
to do the Bond that Bridge and look at it
and like, those people are really nice. And by the way,

(03:00):
if you listen to this show and you're on Facebook,
you should follow the Bond that Bridge page. Like it's
a good collection of KSR fans, the Ladies of KSR page.
There's a Men of KSR page, which I think is
nice to do, but like, you know, just be careful
using that account sometimes just you know, that is not

(03:21):
that's not that's not official. But then you just get
on regular Facebook and people are just like Sarah over
at the Mexican restaurant looked at me finding like people
are just very upset.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
I think it's a great impersonation of someone being mad
at Sarah at their local Mexican restaurant small.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Facebook is good because the things that like, like I saw,
I guess in Richmond Madison Central High School did their
senior prank, and I guess they went to Meyer and
bought all the eggs in the store and then went

(04:06):
and just threw them in the parking lot, which seems
like well, first of all money, Well, first of all,
it's not really a prank. It's just destructions. A prank
is like when you did what I did in college
where we locked our fraternity in the fraternity room and
left town. That's good, that's a prank. It's a good prank.

(04:27):
That's just mean there's a little bit of fire. Well,
we didn't think of that at the time. It was
quite a prank. By the way. You had to put
one on Shan. And I think I've told this before.
The actives made the pledges put a prank, you had to.
They like judged you on whether or not you did it.
So like I don't do things half, you know, I

(04:49):
planned the whole thing.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Here, the mastermind behind behind the entire this was.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
An ocean we got. I planned it. We took Shannon.
We had some people that were you know, inclined to
do handyman stuff. They took handcuffs and a chain locked
the two doors together. They had to measure it right.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
Then.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yes, we made the windows to where like they were
covered so they couldn't see us going. We got grasshopper
and mott mice and let it out on the chapter
hall and crickets, what are you laughing at?

Speaker 5 (05:29):
This is very built a concrete wall to where they
couldn't walk into the dorm hall, my goodness.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
And then we left. Where'd you go? Where you have
to You were supposed to go away for twenty four hours.
The point was to like bond on the twenty four
hours and then they had to confine you. But they
didn't find this, and then they were really mad about it.
And I'm like, you made us do this. I didn't
do it out of style yourself. You told us to

(05:59):
do this. I didn't know you were such a bad
boy in your youth. In hindsight, the fire hazard was
something I didn't really think about it.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
I have a few I'd like to take back. Yeah,
I would never like still street sign or something.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I did that too well.

Speaker 6 (06:14):
I was gonna say, if you were that, you do
have to pass.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
You have to be careful like stop signs. You know,
you don't want to like they need to be harmless signs.

Speaker 8 (06:21):
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Let me be clear. So when I was at Governor's
Scholar in Danville at Center College, a street sign had fallen. Yeah,
with that wrench in your hand, and Tall and I
decided to bring it back to the you're just cleaning
up you could, that's one way to look at it.
The people scholars didn't see it like that. Tall and

(06:44):
I had to go along with two other guys and
apologize to the Danville City Council. They stood us, They
stood us up there for public shaming, just for trying
to clean up the The newspaper did a story about it.
They were like local or like you know, out of
town teens apologize for vagrants.

Speaker 8 (07:04):
Article.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
It's on there if you look at it. There's a
picture of me and Tall and these two other guys
pre t me too. That was his name. I don't
remember the other guy's name. And we had to apologize
to the Davil city Did you all have like a.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Bad nickname like the governor Scholar four or anything like that,
just go around terrorizing towns.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
The nerd words?

Speaker 9 (07:26):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yeah, that was that was that? So? Yeah, you know
that's the vagrancy. Yeah, I've never done anything like that.
New study says Lexington, Kentucky's mourning commute is one of
the three deadliest in America. There are more res per

(07:47):
capita during the Lexington, Kentucky morning commute than all but
two cities in the United States. Only Baltimore and San Jose, California,
have more per capita rex in the morning than Lexington.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
I think I'm on this route, Winchester Road. I think
we're a big part of it. We have one spot
and I don't think it's been fatal, but it's you're
coming off New Circle on to Winchester Road and it
feels like there should be a merge lane and there's not.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Just the other day, I'm at the red light. Just
here a loud bang. I have to look. It's just
like another one. There was another wreck in that one spot.
It is when it comes to like no lights, buckle up,
put your phone down, nolall, no street signs. It's like,
come on Winchester Road on your own risk and good luck, sir.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
In front of my neighborhood. When I'm turning onto Winchester Road,
when I get agreen, I have to wait a couple
of seconds because someone will just barrel through a red
I don't mean it was yellow and you're trying to
beat it. It could be red for five seconds. I
don't know if they don't see it, but they'll cut
you in half if you're not paying it.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
To Lee'stown Road, I think has decided to just go
down to a half lane. There was a time it
felt like there were six lanes. They claim to be expanding,
but now when I drive through, it's basically a ferry.
I have a little over in a while to get
from one side of New Circle to the other. It's

(09:14):
there's no lanes left anymore, not of roads. So do
you you think that's probably correct about Lexington's morning commute? Probably?

Speaker 5 (09:24):
I mean we have a mess. I just named my
part of town. I mean there's others, as you said,
I mean Newtown Pike, you name it. There's parts of
Lexington all over that are horrible traffic and.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Day to give one more also a shout out to
all my gilded age posse out there. Oh my goodness, yea.
The amount of people that right me now and say
either that they liked the Gilded Age before or that
they've started watching it. There's a lot of wives here
who've been trying to convince their husbands to do it,

(09:53):
and they use me talking about it as the excuse
to do it. The amount of Gilded Age love that
is growing. They had the season finale Sunday. It was
one of the highest rated that It was the highest
rated in the show's history. They renewed it for a
season four. I'm halfway through season two, so I'm still
working through. Bertha is trying to get her box at

(10:14):
the Metropol at the Opera, and I don't know how
that's gonna play out, So no spoilers.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Like Shannon and I, we just gotta spoil a little bit.
We're still on season one, episode one.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
You should get some money from all these people. You're
the first person I've ever heard talk about this. I
didn't even know what existed until you talked about it.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I didn't know any It just kept popping up on
my HBO, and finally I was like, why not. And
here's why it's great. It's not about anything important, right,
It's all free, right, Yeah, but it's also just about
like she wants to throw a ball, will people come
like social things, Yeah, it doesn't matter. And in a

(10:52):
world where everything's so serious, I think I just like it.
And I have a soft spot for old women that
make snide comments about each other. I really enjoy that.
I think it goes back to my Aunt Francis and
Aunt Boots Morgan Wallin's uh grandma, so kind of they

(11:12):
used to sit there and smoke and just be like,
Sheila thinks she's pretty today, but she ain't. And I
was just as a kid just think that was the
just some of that old women being snide and mean,
gossiping about each other. Yeah, and they were all like
you know, they were. It was all like I heard
she was at the coffee shop staring at that stuff.

(11:37):
Was great.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
This is a whole show of that. It's on my
watch list. I need to catch up. I really do
want to watch.

Speaker 10 (11:44):
You like it.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Let's go to read What's up?

Speaker 8 (11:46):
Read Good morning, guys, Lauren.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
I'm listener.

Speaker 11 (11:51):
Uh living open like Alabama or Western Texas, Brad and
I signed up for my Sports Classic tickets.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yesterday is the St. John's Is that UK Saint John's.

Speaker 11 (12:04):
We'll be staying at the West and Each Street players Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, I think that's gonna be a lot of fun.
I think you're gonna see the debut of the denim
uniforms at that game. I think you're gonna see I
think the UK Saint John's game is gonna just have
like I think you're gonna see a ton of former
Patino era players at that game. UK alumni group in
atlanta's probably the best UK alumni group along with New

(12:32):
York and the country, and they'll have it rocking. I high.
I think that's going to be an awesome, awesome game.
So I think you made the right decision.

Speaker 8 (12:42):
Was it was like twenty three seventy six, which is nothing,
but this is the once a lifetime.

Speaker 12 (12:47):
We live in Opal Lake anyway, so it's not a
very long drive Atlanta, so that's great.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
So I'm for punped Well, I appreciate the call. We're
gonna be there, I think. I mean, normally that last
game before Christmas is not a game that I think
is great to go on the road for. But this
year it's gonna be different being in Atlanta, Rick and saying,
and you know they could be you look at their schedule,
they could be when one or two in the country
coming into that game. I just think it's good. It's

(13:13):
gonna be awesome. I think that's that has the potential
to be the environment of the year for Kentucky basketball.
Completely agree.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
I was there a couple of years ago in Atlanta
for the CBS Classic, the Notre Dame or Notre Dame
North Carolina game.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
That was real close.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Dillingham Shepherd, that bunch and that arena was one of
the best I've seen in any of these events we do,
Champions Classic, that was CBS, any of these one off games.
That place was on fire. I think there's a hunger
from the people that used to go to the SEC
tournament there. Even though Nashville is better, you had that
long connection with Atlanta, and I think it'll be crazy
again this December with Rick.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yeah. If I was sitting at home and I was going, Okay,
I want to go to one. I want to take
one UK basketball trip this year, There's no doubt I
would pick that. I would. I just think, you know,
they go to New York. I love playing in New York.
I'm gonna try to go to that game. That's the
is that the CBS Classic game against Who do we
play this year, we played Ohio State. No, he played

(14:11):
them last year? Who he played? John?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Sorry, Yeah, they replaced UCLA. That's the We got Nashville
and Gonzaga is the other one that if you were considered.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
New York is Michigan State Champions Campus Class right. Yeah,
So there's a lot of good choice. Actually, there are
all good choices this year. But I think the Atlanta one,
I'm just I'm just excited about. I think it's gonna
be fun playing against Rick. I do I think you
think he gets gets applause? He will? He will.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Also, their star player is gonna be Bryce Hopkins. I
know that's not quite the reunion of a Rick Patino reunion,
but just another angle of that game that makes it
probably the best on the schedule. Drew, tell me about
Stocktor Moore, Stockton Morgans. They're growing. They have locations all
over Kentucky. They're growing so fast. I can't even tell
you how many of Kentucky. Whatever Ryan said last time,

(14:56):
there's probably more. Check them out stock mortgage dot com
for all your home loan needs. It's it's a great time.
Ryan's in Hilton Head. He'll be back tomorrow. Call him
and we'll.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Move forward on a house with clarity and confidence. Where
would I go?

Speaker 5 (15:12):
I mean, hey, you're having the right attitude, very important
when you're shopping for a home. But make sure you
trust Stockton Mortgage with that home bankingstry.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Loan fit neatly into a box?

Speaker 5 (15:21):
No, they absolutely don't. They will find the one that
fits perfectly into your box at Stockton Mortgage dot com.
N MLS two three. I need the number, Shannon, you
got it yesterday?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
What was it?

Speaker 6 (15:31):
Eight two five? Equal health?

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Where will it fit into into your almost said packet
thing you've created that you need?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
The loan, your personal customize my cardboard? What box?

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Your customized thing that you want? They will help you
with that.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
All right, equal housy litter, Consumer Access dot Org. We'll
take a break, be right back. Welcome back, Teke you
sports radio. If I'm not twenty two eighty seven. A
couple open lines. It's technically an ask anything Wednesday, although
I don't think I said that, so we'll probably do
that tomorrow as well. But couple open lines, give a
shout eight five nine, twenty two eighty seven. Let me

(16:10):
give you an example of the kind of thing I
like on Facebook this is from someone. I'm not gonna
say the name of the restaurant or else you'll know
the town. Okay, but it just this is from someone
on my Facebook. I just got a message to someone
and they will know who it is, but I'm not
saying their name. If you think your husband is cheating

(16:32):
on you, he is, just go to and then she
mentions the restaurant on any Wednesday night and look what
he's doing. You'll thank me later. See.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
That's why I like Facebook. It's good entertainment. There used
to be, and it was. It was it got a
little out of hand. It got deleted to like topics
in a small town. Remember I would recap them on ksorry.
Pick a town and just do the top five topics.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
It's kind of like speak your piece and text form.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean, first of all, when I
was growing up, I don't know about you all. I
didn't know how many people cheated on each but one
trip to topics and you realize all, you know, all
of Lincoln County is cheating. It's just a matter of
like where you got to go to catch it.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Just calling people out with first names, like we don't
know any of the parties involved.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
It's just you know, just reading the chaos. Yeah, in
the Lincoln in Lincoln County, they'd go to Garrett County
to cheat. But all you gotta do is just cross
the state the county line and you'll see it. That's
what Uh, that's what I like. The UK basketball schedule
is now completely out, including the non conference Are you

(17:47):
are you excited? They announced the UK the final thing
for the UK. What's it called? The BBN That new thing? Okay,
so it's like Nickel State.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
Valve Poe, Eastern Illinois.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Eastern Illinois. Hopefully we'll be able to retain our BBN United.
They changed the name of that every year, don't they.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
So last year I kind of in mocking it was
really playing up the BBN Invitational. I mean I was
really into it. Even asked the players about it after
the game and they were like, what is this guy
talking about? But KSR went all in on the bb Invitational.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
We want it.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
I'm surprised they didn't cut the nets, but whatever. This year,
the BBN United tip Off Classic, presented by Kentucky Tourism
is staying in Lexington.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
How many things have they named it?

Speaker 5 (18:32):
I think it's different every year. It's been eight off
up class, Bill Kite, lightly even a Joe b.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Was there was a job, there's been and it was.
Last year was just the BBN Invitational. This year's a
little bigger because we're gonna unite BBN.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
I'm little wried about getting distracted because there's three games
in the BBN United tip Off Classic presented by Kentucky Tourism,
but after two of them is the Louisville game, and
then you have the BBN United Tipoff Classic present Kentucky Tourism.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
I later distracted for the Fine All against Eastern Illinois
by Louisville.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
I hate that, you Sandwich. Do you almost have to
pick do I want to win the Louisville game or
do I want to win the bb IN United tip
Off Classic present by Kentucky Tourism. And at that point
in the season, you're still figuring things out, and I
worry it's too much on their plate.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
In the first two weeks of November, Let's play a
game what state is Nichols State? Man? Because as my
grandfather would say, ain't no state Nichols. What state is
is Nickels State? In blind guests couldn't even tell you
part of the country. I will say Pennsylvania. All right, Shannon,
what state is is Nickels state in Nebraska? Nebraska? Did

(19:40):
just to think about your mindset? Was that just because
I knew? I knew that's what New York, New Jersey,
what it's like when people I would say I went
to Transylvania and people go, is that in Pennsylvania? And
I'd say, you just think because it ends in Sylvania,
it's in the same thing. No, it is in Louisiana. Wait, second,
guess Thibodeaux Louisiana. So that is who we play for. Uh.

(20:06):
It is known for there have one of the best
best programs in America at Geomatics, which begs the question
what is geomat? I must to learn here A lot
to unpack. Do we know what geomads is? What is
their logo? I know nothing about Nichols. Geomatics is the
science and technology of acquiring and managing spatial information about

(20:30):
the Earth's surface. Okay, so when they come here, they
might be distracted by going outside and analyzing our soil.
The limestone is gonna blow their mind.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Drew can check out on the post game. They'll be
out there.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
I'll belter with me in the new Gaton Park, Oh,
Caatton Park, I might be a new spot for real.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
In the uniform, just digging in the soil and going wow.
The composition of this is truly amazing. Free bird, go ahead,
free bird.

Speaker 11 (21:01):
Hey guys, just up here working in Augusta on my birthday.
Enjoyed the remote on Friday, And I've got a question
for all of y'all. I was listening earlier this morning
to Tom Leash to show which old Shannon a dude produced.
I would imagine He said there was a guy back
when Kentucky played in the Great Alaska Shootout that didn't
like to drive, or excuse me, fly, he drove from Pikeville,

(21:25):
Kentucky all the way to Anchorage. So whatever you guys
are passionate about, whether it's Kentucky baseball, concerts, whatever, how
far would you all drive? And I think a couple
of y'all would.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Any distance I've driven. I'm not I mean truck drivers
have driven more than me, but I would venture to
say no radio host in America, except maybe Charles Krault,
has driven more than I have. So the answer to
your question is, I would drive anywhere would I drive
to Anchorage? Yes, I just without question fic, I'd like to.

(22:04):
I think it would be fun. Don't give them any ideas. So, yeah,
I appreciate the call. I would drive. I've driven anywhere
you can go that's safe. I've driven there. We're not
a year removed from driving to Seattle. Yeah, we drove
the Seattle. It's about as far as you can go
from here. Yeah, so I appreciate the call. I know

(22:25):
you all hate it. I drove from Newfoundland all the
way to Vancouver, all in Canada.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
So I love to drive. I don't hate it. I
just like to make fun of you. I enjoy it. Kevin,
go ahead, Kevin.

Speaker 8 (22:42):
Hey, I got to ask anything question. But first that
if you don't think anyone's cheating in Louisville, just walk
there Court Park one time in the thange of mind.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Oh is that the cheating park?

Speaker 8 (22:54):
I think all public park, that's just the one I use.
But I mean, if she takes a hundred degrees out,
you're sitting on a a patio table and there's still
two different cars to sit one hundred and three weathers
at a distance.

Speaker 7 (23:05):
You know what?

Speaker 8 (23:06):
Yah? Yeah, as soon as I'll lift my phone.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
To give you a question real quick because we only
have thirty seconds and we'll cut me off.

Speaker 8 (23:13):
The nineteen nineteen Dream Team they were so dominant. But
do you think they still would have won the goat
Medal if Chuck Bailey only could play four players at
any given time?

Speaker 3 (23:23):
That's an interesting question. No, but that's a I like that.
They'd win a few, they'd win, but they wouldn't win
them all. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll
make them pay.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Welcome back Tukey Sports Radio. This segment sponsored by no
Chay Linda Farms. Guess what they're now the official beef
provider of KS Bar when we come when you come
back on August twenty six, we now have smash Burgers.
You know that's the We've got them there really good.
I tried them out. We tried like six different kinds
of meat, and we decide to go with no Chay Linda.

(24:01):
We thought it was the best, not just that, not
just because of this rate. Literally we blind tasted them,
and I think five of the six of us blind
tasted picked no Chlen I think the sixth had it second.
So we were like, let's go for it. You can
get it at home no Cha Lendofarms dot com. You
can get delivered to you. Uh. It quickly makes the

(24:23):
It's the best meat beef you could have in the area.
It's what we're gonna be using at Chaos Bar. You
can come try it at Chaos Bar or order at
no chay Linda Farms dot com, a Kentucky company, at
no Cha lend of Farms. Literally when they said they
wanted to do it, I was like, I'd love to
pick them, but it's got to be like the best
one of the group. And then we do the thing.
We have six people, six different entities, and no Cha

(24:43):
lend of Farms wins blind taste test. It's pretty awesome.
Steve knows what he's doing. The new burger is gonna
is we Our burgers were kind of sometimes they were good,
sometimes they were these it's gonna.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Be consistently good.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, I mean that's the big ope thing about when
we reopen. I'll talk more about this another time, but
we just needed to be more consistent, sort of like
Ryan Lemon and uh and this and we something a
couple of items just need to be better, and that's
what we did. Corey Price found that.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
Article, of course he did.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
I mean impressive work.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
Are you surprised?

Speaker 3 (25:18):
But it doesn't even have my name in it? And
he found it. It's good they had to protect these
amazing So here I'll give you just a quick thing
of the story. A group of Governor scholars came to
Tuesday's meaning of the damvill City Commission to say they
enjoyed their five weeks in Damville. A spokesman for the
nine young Men, and that was me, said they had
quote done something out of bounds. It makes it sound

(25:40):
a lot worse. I said, you have done something out
of bounds. That makes it sound a lot more scandalous
than it was. Did I really get up there and
go we did something out.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Of interesting choice of words.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
What the out of bounds activity was was never revealed.
I cannot believe Corey found this.

Speaker 13 (26:02):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
The young the nine young men are studying the Governor's
Scholar program in center. As a way to make amends,
they got up their nerve and asked Mayor John W. D.
Bowling to declare a Governor's Scholars Day That was pretty
bold of us. You're in trouble and then you want
your own day.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Yeah, how does that even work?

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Coming in take it over the whole town. That's right.
We committed vacrancy. And then there I was like, name
us a day celebrated.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Played guilty and said, now name the day after.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Us, and he did.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
They also learned about more about the city, visited the
fire station. I didn't remember that we visited the fire station.
The teenagers who will be high school seniors this fallower
were presented a plaque. Uh, I do remember this. The
students had to put up with some kidding from one
of the commissioners, Commissioner Bunny Davis. His day was Bunny.

(26:56):
He got up and said, he said, eight of the
nine young men were athletes. I think I was one
of the eight. Uh eight athletes. I think I know
the one. No, I'm plates. I think it was pretty
too Metrio that was not the athlete. And Bunny said,
too many athletes graduate. Oh lordie instead of magna coom Lordie.

(27:20):
Oh wow, what a line by Bunny. Oh lordy. Bunny
had jokes. Uh so, yeah, I can't believe you found that, Corey.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
That's prettymat It says that they and they urge you
to vote and be interested in your community. Did you
walk away interested in your own community? I do vote
and I am interested in my community. Lesson learned, lesson learned.
I want to play something real quick here. This is
one of the all time.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Your brother completely destroys you unintentionally moments. You remember Michael
Porter that played at Missouri. I do his brother is
what John te Johnte maybe going to prison for game
weight on basketball. He's been kicked out of the league. Now, shit,
and that's bad enough. Yeah right, Yeah, Michael Porter does

(28:14):
an interview and I think found a way to make
it worse for his brother. Let's go ahead and play.

Speaker 9 (28:21):
Does Everybody has different things that they struggle with. That
can go from people to struggle with alcohol, people that
struggle with drugs. You know, my brother, for example, struggle
with gambling. My vice has always come in the form
of women. And when I'm far from God and like
I'm not in my word, I'm not praying, I'm not

(28:42):
prioritizing him like that seems to be the place that
the devil gets me is in the space of women.
And I know that's a lot of people in my shoes,
you know. I know it's a lot of a lot
of people in my lifestyle or whatever. That's something that
comes up a lot. But I've never viewed that as okay.

(29:04):
I don't think objectifying women. I don't think being with
women all the time and sleeping around and doing stuff
like that is cool. And I haven't necessarily been doing that.
But nevertheless, like women has always been my vice.

Speaker 8 (29:17):
Right.

Speaker 9 (29:18):
I got two younger brothers.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
That are married.

Speaker 9 (29:20):
I got two of the sisters that are married. I'm
the only one that's not married. And I feel like
God kind of gives you what you're prepared to handle,
and so far in my life, like a good woman
like I don't think I'm ready to handle that because
I'm all over the place. Sometimes I'm good and sometimes
I'm not, you know what I mean. And I feel

(29:42):
like this cycle of being good with God and bad
with God has poured over into me not being able
to really lock in and be living the Christian walk
in that area of my life. Brother Johntay, he never
seemed to struggle with that advice. You know, I never

(30:04):
struggle with the gambling addiction. I never I never struggled
with that advice. God gave me a lot of money
because maybe he figured I could handle it and not,
you know, lose myself in that area.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
And all right, maybe first of all, what you know,
when Michael Porter was in college, he was known as
being like insanely harryan right, and his teammates didn't get
along with a lot of those comments are crazy. Like
he basically is like, yeah, I just I get too
many women. He doesn't womanize. I don't womanize, but like,

(30:35):
I can't up. I can't keep up with all these women.
What am I supposed to do? I'm only human, have
all this money, Like, what do you want me to do?
I just can't. There's just too many women. What do
you want me to do? My brother, he doesn't have
to worry about that. I mean, it's just like he's
like my brother. It's never an issue for him. Well,

(30:58):
it's not going to be an issue for him moving forward.
I just do you not think that's a crazy thing
to come on there and say.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Didn't he say his brother is though married, so I
guess he's not sleeping around with other women. I didn't
take it really as a big slight against his brother,
like everybody else, What did you take it as well?
He's a one woman man. He's not sleeping around. He
doesn't have to have that.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Don't you think it was a little arrogant to come
on there and be like, I just got too many women?

Speaker 6 (31:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was that part of it was arrogant. Yeah, yes,
I didn't think he was throwing his brother.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
I mean and like, God blessed me with money. Yeah.
He also said God blessed him with money, and he
was like, my brother can't handle Yeah, God give it
to me. Money to me because I know how to
handle it. He just gave me a few too many women.
It made me too good looking. That was the problem.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
I believe he has significant interest in women, because when
he was on his Kentucky visit, a clip went viral.
Cameras caught him where he's pointing went out and he says,
look at that battie when he's on the bench, and
everybody was trying to wonder who was pointing out in
the crowd.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
That was a famous game when he was here, he
that was that was like a campus thing. He pointed
at someone in the crowd and like all the people
were trying to figure out which woman.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
He might have even been on Missouri's bench at the time,
but then rup he got caught scanning the crowd.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yeah, it's a problem for him.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
I'll pray for him. As your brother's going to prison.
You're just dancing on him saying he, you know, didn't
have the same problem.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
You're just like, hey, I can't you know, I can't
deal with it. David Louisville, go ahead, David.

Speaker 10 (32:29):
Thanks staking my call again. Tells I got a couple
of two part questions here. First off, where are you
all going to be at the State Fair? Do you
know where you're gonna be located?

Speaker 7 (32:37):
South? South south Waen sounds great? And the second part
this and you guys may have heard you sing if
you guys were a spirit animal, what spirit.

Speaker 10 (32:47):
Animal would you be? And I'm gonna hang up and
listen and we'll see you guys at the south wing.
Thank you guys.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah, I don't know enough about animals because I don't
like him, so probably one that.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
It's just like you'd be like a little poodle. You
yap a lot.

Speaker 14 (33:08):
I Oh, how's that impersonation? What do you think I sound.

Speaker 6 (33:23):
Like you being a poodle? That you, there's a poodle's experience.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
First, Why is that even now?

Speaker 6 (33:27):
A poodle sounds sound a human?

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Happened right leaves over there names Shandon's over here calling
me a poodle.

Speaker 6 (33:40):
Okay, then you pick yours.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
No, I'm fine. I think that one works. Raven, Go ahead, Raven, Raven,
that's kind of excited about talking to someone now, Raven,
All right, let's go to Gatlin, Gatlin boys, what's up Gatlin?

Speaker 11 (33:57):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (33:58):
How you doing? First time call? Who I heard? I
heard the guy, Uh listen every day and I heard
the guy mention a man drove from Pakville, Kentucky, And
I just wanted to say that I was in that vehicle.
I was five years old. That was my dad.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Oh wow, my.

Speaker 12 (34:17):
Dad and my mom drove us all the way from
Pockville to uh Anchorage to watch Kentucky in the Grady,
Alaskan shootout.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
So how long did the trip take?

Speaker 12 (34:27):
It took five days down, six days back.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Wow, So you got that you drove all the way there,
watch the games turn right around, and came.

Speaker 8 (34:35):
Back pretty much.

Speaker 15 (34:38):
Yeah, we got to uh, we got to eat things.
Giving dinner with the team, they asked me who my
favorite player was I said Steve Maziello, I don't even
think he got any.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
What do you mean, what do you mean you got
to ask got to eat with the team. Did you
all like have a connection or were they just impressed
you made the trip.

Speaker 15 (34:56):
No, they were just impressed we made the trip. They
had heard my dad was on the radio, I think
with Ralph Hacker. I was real little, but they had
heard and we stayed at the same hotel.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
That's awesome. That's a cool story. So they heard you
made the trip and then brought you on. Well that's
really neat. That's a very UK basketball story. Well, I
appreciate you sharing it.

Speaker 8 (35:21):
Gatlin, I thought so too.

Speaker 11 (35:24):
I had to had to tell you all.

Speaker 9 (35:26):
I've always wanted.

Speaker 15 (35:27):
To call in and mention that.

Speaker 12 (35:28):
So that guy kind of did it for me.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
So that's perfect. Well I had to be weird. You're
sitting there listening and the guy talks about you. I
appreciate you.

Speaker 6 (35:34):
Coche drove all the way out to LA. We didn't
get to eat with the team right around too. We
immediately turned around.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
When we meet, we went to the game. For people
who don't remember, we drove to La went to the game.
Shannon asked if we could go to the viper room.
We went to the viper room for like twenty minutes,
turned right around and came back.

Speaker 6 (35:54):
Only think it was twenty I.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
Remember being in the arena and people had been following
the trip. They're like, what have you done in LA
so far? Is like, no, we drove straight to the
poly pavilion. Like this is us getting to La?

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Is the game starting in light? I'm looking at the
map to Anchorage? How do you get there?

Speaker 5 (36:10):
This goes through North Dakota and then you're up into Canada.
Then you go through Edmonton. But it's driving straight through
would be sixty six hours one way. So if they
did in five days, you're still hauling it to get there.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
When you think about stopping sixty six hours five days,
that means they put in some days. I mean they
put in like twelve and a half hour driving days.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
I'm looking at like our trip to Seattle would be
about half of what they did. And we flew back.
They turned around and drove back. All right, next summer
driving ink? Who have a reason are we playing there?
We're going to go to Pike Pool and then we're
going to recreate the Jarney see Ramone Harris Lasking Assassin.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
We'll take a break. Be right back to Kentucky Sports Radio.
Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (36:58):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
I found this kind of interesting. I just saw this online. Apparently. Uh,
there are thirty five elected either federal politicians or state
governors that have their own podcast. Okay, all right, thirty five,
one of whom is our governor Andy Basheer. All right,

(37:19):
would you like to know who has the most listens
of any elected persons podcast?

Speaker 5 (37:26):
Does Pelosi have a stock tips podcast? Because I would
listen to that. Yeah, that would break the bank.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Uh. The most is Ted Cruz, who has one point
four million monthly downloads. That is a lot. Who is
listening to Ted Cruz. That's a lot higher than I
would think any politician. Me too. Gavin Newsom second, five
hundred thousand, So Cruises gotten by million. All right. Dan Crenshaw,

(38:04):
that's a representative, has three hundred and seventy thousand. He's third.
So what if I told you that Andy Vasheer has
the fourth most of anyone in the country, Shannon, that
sounds pretty good, right, pretty impressive? Yeah, fourth most in
the country of any politician. Guess how many monthly downloads.

(38:25):
Third had three hundred thousand, third was three hundred and
sixty six thousand.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
You'd say a quarter million.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Seven thousand, three hundred.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
What a drop off.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
Yes, and that's the fourth biggest in the country. Now,
just for comparison's sake, every hour of KSR gets significantly
more than that. I'm mean to go farther. Representative Troy
Carter does a weekly podcast. I don't know who that is,

(39:00):
but it's called What Makes America Tick. So presumably in
a month he had four episodes. Guess what his total
downloads for a month is doing four episodes a week
called What makes America Tick? Five hundred Shannon four hundred
fifty three.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
All right, just stop, don't do something. That's a that's
a group text. You can share. You can share all.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Those opinions with those people without having a podcast. That's
a good thing. That's a group text. There will be
more people like at a remote Why would you keep
doing that?

Speaker 6 (39:43):
You're just talking to yourself out loud.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (39:47):
Yeah, presumably a few of those or maybe whoever uploaded
it produced to mom and dad aren't going to miss an.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
Episode a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
All right, Good for him. So what wealth it says
is unless you're Ted Cruz Gavin News for Dan Crenshaw.
Maybe I'm actually impressed by Ted. That's good numbers.

Speaker 5 (40:04):
I wouldn't think a politician would have an entertaining podcast.
Maybe it's not that that's a lot. Somebody likes it. Clearly,
let's go to Todd.

Speaker 12 (40:13):
Go ahead, Todd, Hey, good morning man.

Speaker 13 (40:17):
I enjoy your show and appreciate. My question is how
come you don't host the Paul Finebomb Show anymore?

Speaker 3 (40:29):
They kicked me off? Uh? What was the language I
used for the other thing we did? We did something
out of bounds, Drew and I did something out about Now.
We were on there one time and we just we
were talking, you know, you have to sit and talk
about the other teams, and I said that Missouri's Kwanzo
Martin shouldn't be the coach anymore because I didn't think

(40:52):
he was good enough for the new SEC. Uh. The
Missouri a D got mad, called the SEC network uh,
and I was banned from hosting, and then the Missouri
a D the next year fired Quonzo Martin. But for
whatever reason, it sort of stayed in the SEC world
that I was kind of persona non grata, and then
I think over time I talked about it, I think

(41:14):
it made Fine Bob a little like. I don't think
he loved that I talked about it, And now I
think they'd probably let me be on it. But now
I just think Paul won't let me be on it.
So you know, I enjoyed it. I had a lot
of fun doing it. But that's why, Well, I.

Speaker 13 (41:30):
Enjoyed listening to you. I mean, I listen to you
guys every day and I appreciate it, but I enjoyed
you being hosting the show when I thought you did
a good job, Well.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
Thank you. I did. The Fine Bomb Show is how
I got my ESPN gig. Was the day we had
to host when the there was that scandal at Ohio State.
The Fine Bomb Show is also how I ended up
in the hospital. You know, quite a rod. The Fine
Bomb Show when I lost my voice and Fine Bamb

(42:01):
was gonna have me host for the first time in
like five years, I thought it was my chance to
get Tom come back. I lost my voice. I drank
all this water to try to get my voice back,
and I ended up with water intoxication, which sounds like
a made up illness and I ended up in the hospital,
and then I had all that blood pressure problems which
led to my anxiety problems. Like all of that comes

(42:22):
from stupid ass, Paul Fine Bomb comes from Quanzo Martin.
Because if it wasn't for Quanzo Martin, I wouldn't have
felt the need to host. I could have just sat there,
not drink all that water. Butterfly effect to Quanto Martin.
He changed everything. Quanzo Martin causing all those problems Bob

(42:43):
and Jamestown. I really wanted to get to you, but
Shannon said there wasn't time. I will see you back
here tomorrow. This has been a good Dougie Sports Radio
