Now here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Welcome everyone, Kentucky Sports Radio, Thursday, August to fourteenth. I
am Matt Jones, two weeks before my birthday. That's exciting
at least for Actually it's not exciting. As you get older,
it becomes less and less exciting. You're sneaking up on
forty YEP, gonna be there in about five years. You
can give Sean the Clark's Puppet Shop full line and
is ask Anything?
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Thursday.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
If I'm nine two eighth twenty two eighty seven, a
vision Auto glass text machine is seven seven two seven
to seven four five two five four in this sision
sponsored by the TJ. Smith Officer called TJ I'll make
them pay. I'm here with Drew and Shannon.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
We are at the State Fair. I am told that
we would love to have you stop by the booth
hang out, say hi. There will be no chairs. That's important.
You're more than welcome to come and see, but there
will be no chairs. There is a it's the first
time we've ever had a remote with a no chair announcement,
but a no chair announcement, So just keep that in mind.
If you stop buy and you want to come, you
(01:30):
can maybe even bring a chair, but just keep that
in mind.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
Uh, don't be don't be expecting a chair.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Yep, standing room only event, it's that big of a deal.
I saw a book a Mormon in a standing room
only tickets, So it's not that bad if you're gonna
come stand for a few hours.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
I was like, the whole place I stood up. You
stood up for the whole place I stood up.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
I bought a standing ticket. Point being, what's a couple
of hours on your feet to see a great show?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Book?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
A Mormon's great. I've seen it in I've seen it
in four different cities. I've seen New York.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
I've seen in New York, London, Louisville, in Chicago. Were
you just a state, I would just.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Be there and it would be on and I didn't
know what else to do. I was like, oh, I'll
go to that because it's fun. Yeah, if I'm not
twenty two eighty seven, is ask anything Wednesday? You can
ask any question UK sports related or otherwise.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
You know, I'm going to talk a lot of sports
tomorrow and some today.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
But I have to tell you, I am this is
a bad decision by me.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Okay, I like to I know it ahead.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
I know it's a bad decision, but I'm starting to
believe in the rent.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Oh they're going to say a tucky football.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
I'm not to that level of bad decision yet. By
the way, I did see the guy who said ten
and two. Remember the guy and he said there was
like blue in my ear Bluer than You podcast, And
a guy said ten and two Bluer than You podcast
does not exist. But there is a guy who has
(03:11):
some podcast. I don't know if it's called Lovely Kentucky
or something. It's it's some form of words in blue
in Kentucky. He was going through this and he had
us at ten and two, So that person did exist.
I think the caller said lots of people. I saw one,
(03:32):
but he did have it.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Good for him. What are the two? I guess Texas?
He thought Georgia.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
I think he thought that we would we would squeak
one lost to Texas and then squeak one.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Loss at Georgia. But the other ten I think he
thought Shannon were golden.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
We're going to the championship.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Then that's what he thought.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I mean, so, you know, so that guy did have
a response. All right, so I shouldn't believe in the Reds.
But they're only a game back now, and I came
to the realization whether and the Mets are reeling. They
were playing your braves. They are at six nothing last
night ended up losing eleven.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Six on TV too.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
You're very well, room, I thank you for that. They
play again tonight, Reds are off, so we're gonna need
you to do it again. But this is what I've realized,
more than even believing in them, I think they are
quickly becoming my third favorite team of my non Kentucky
sports lifetime. Okay, so Kentucky sports. If you were to
(04:31):
rank my favorite teams probably take up the top thirty positions,
and I mean like by year, right, So like you
could say, my favorite teams have been the ninety two
Kentucky team, the twenty ten Kentucky team, the twenty fifteen,
two thousand and three, those are kind of the four
(04:51):
for me that always and then I liked the one.
So ninety two, ninety two will always be one, twenty
ten will always be two. All of you were on
the floor when the confetti was falling, it was and
the ninety six is great, fifteen is great. Oh three
Bogans and those guys I loved. But so if you're
gonna have that, And then there's football, right there's the
twenty seventeam with Stevie Gottloose and all that. They're gonna
(05:15):
take my top thirty. But when you get to non
Kentucky teams, it's the eighty five Bears, because it's the
first thing I remember as a kid was watching.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
We didn't come here to feathers ruffle. We just came
to do the Super Bowl shuffle, right then.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Probably second is the Braves teams of my youth, the
you know Sid Bream, Francisco Creber ninety two. I mean,
I just I you're a kid, right, you get that excited,
et cetera.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
This is now number three.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
I think the Carolina Hurricanes have had a couple that
were there, but this is now number three, and I
think it's I like all of the guys.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
I have nicknames for them. What we know, we hear
some of them. I mean, first of all, Ellie. Ellie's
my favorite athlete non Kentucky since Walter Payton. It's a
big accomplishment for him.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Now he hit, What's what's wrong with it? He's fun,
he hits, he runs, he fields the future. He has
a song, Cruz, he has that song. Okay, nobody needs
to talk about your strikeout. Striking out is okay. Like,
we can't be perfect in this world, Shannon, I think
we need to accept people for their failures.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
And then there's very few people I hate on the team.
They got rid of Connor Joe. That's rare.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
You usually despise about to not a huge espanall guy,
not a huge Ashcraft guy.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
But you know what, if they were here, Shannon, I'd
be nice to him. I wouldn't cuss him. Out.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Isn't there a guy named scuz or something on the team.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
I love the scuzz Bucketeah, Okay, Scott Barlow. He looks
like he you know, he looks like he's been hanging
out the backstage of a metal show at Manchester Music Hall.
My friends and I have created a whole alter ego
life for Scott Barlow.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Look him up on Wikipedia.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
First of all, everybody should look up Scott Borough just
to see what he looks like.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
Just look at it on Wikipedia. And I can't prove this.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
It says, and I'm assuming it's true, and nobody needs
to correct me, that he lives in a camper van
during the season.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Okay, I see it. It wouldn't be on Wikipedia if.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
It says he lives in a camper van in Cincinnati
during the season.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Come on, how can you not like the scuz bucket
out there? He lives in a camper This is a
major League Baseball player and he's living in a camper
van down by the river.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
You don't believe that, I believe.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Why would it be on Wikipedia if it wasn't true.
I'm looking at it a boat. Does it not? As
a Cribs episode on YouTube? He has a Cribs episode
on YouTube. It's when he was with the Royal, But
I assume it's the same camper you're telling me. There's
a tour of his camper van.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
MLB dot Com here give by everybody.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Now, I know, Mario, what I'm watching after the show,
I'm watching Scott Barlow. He missed part of the season
to fly to New Mexico to watch his baby be
born with his wife.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Wi are they getting born in New Mexico? Who knows?
Probably because they live out in the desert and that's
where they want to go.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
I'm about his wife living in the camper. She lives
there too during the season. She's not on the camper van.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I'm watching the video right now.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
So my friends and I've created this whole alter ego
about him. Like when we were in Pittsburgh, we said
he had to leave the game early because he was
going to float on a log back to Cincinnati.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
He didn't even take the team plane with them.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I mean, it's a nice camper van.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Is it a nice camper vann? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Okay, so that he's on the team. You got little
Spencer Steer, He's just so wheetle and then he hits
the ball really far.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
He does.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
And then we got new guys. We got a guy
named Key Brian. He's been good, not just Brian. Is
he hitting well though?
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (09:05):
So far?
Speaker 5 (09:06):
So when you got him that was a question.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
And then they got the pictures, Hunter Green, Nicolodolo, Andrew
Abbott got the Chase Burns. So I I it's fun.
This is what I like about it, Drew. It's fun
to be joyous about a sports team and not just
be nervous all the time. Like they won last night.
It's just fun Kentucky. There's so much stress when they play.
For me, I'm thinking, Oh, what if we lose? What
(09:30):
am I gonna say on the postgame show? What are
we gonna do on the bar?
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Oh? Can I be critical? Am I gonna be too critical?
I have to do all that. With this, I can
just scream out scuzbucket and everything is exciting. I see
the Brewers are in your way. Play the best team.
We played.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Okay, so we played the best team in baseball this weekend.
They have owned since I've had season tickets. I don't
think we've beaten the Brewers one game ever. I've watched
them every I've probably seen them beat the Reds fifteen times.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
I'm gonna assume we're gonna lose this weekend, but if
we win, think about how exciting that is.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Oddly, though, on a twelve game win streak, I started
playing odds. It's got to end sometime.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Let's talk about that twelve game win street because this
is kind of interesting, Shannon. There's a burger place in Milwaukee.
Did you read about this?
Speaker 3 (10:15):
I'm saying this.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
So there's a burger place in Milwaukee called like Milwaukee Burgers.
It's got a name, and they have since nineteen thirteen
had a promotion that if the Brewers won twelve straight,
everyone in Milwaukee gets a free Hamburger.
Speaker 8 (10:32):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Okay, it's only happened once, like nineteen seventy seven, and
they gave away one hundred and seventy thousand Hamburgers. So
last night the Brewers had to win for everyone into
Milwaukee to get Hamburgers. The Milwaukee players said they were
genuinely nervous about the game. Everywhere they went, people were like,
(10:54):
I want my burger. Don't screw up. And they went
out and they won, and so now everyone who lives
in Milwaukee gets a free Hamburger. Now, the restaurant said,
this is gonna take a little while to plan. How
many Hamburgers do you think will end up getting eaten?
(11:16):
Knowing that in nineteen seventy three or whatever it was
one hundred and seventy.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Thousand, they're getting thousands, and they got a lean into it.
They're getting more than thousand.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
I get, I'm getting sponsors, I having an event. I mean,
I've got signage on the side of my building from
the local bank. I'm turning this into the biggest thing
I can. I'll say, thirty thousand burgers.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Oh, they're gonna get If they got one hundred and
seventy thousand and seventy three, this is gonna be.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Glossed over there. I'm just trying to think how many
you could possibly make in a small store in why.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
First of all, I don't know how long they have,
but shitnon, I'm thinking more like in today's world, where
everyone will know, you know, it's hard to get people
to know.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Probably back there.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So the population of Milwaukee's a little over half a million, Okay,
so start there.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Metro area is bigger than that, but go ahead.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
I'm gonna say around half of Milwaukee, maybe a little
bit test maybe a little bit less than half of Milwaukee.
We'll go and get. So I'm gonna say, like two
hundred and forty two hundred.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
I'm with you. This is a two hundred and forty
to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars burger promotion. I'm
looking at them.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
They're in a little shopping center. They're in a shopping center,
not a big place. So I don't even think you
imagine the lines for that. But let's just say they
two hundred and fifty thousand burgers. That's gonna cost them
a half million.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
No, it's gonna cost you half a day to get
it too. I think i'd rather go spend four or
five dollars.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Well, they said they'll do it over a Period's okay
about the time. How you prove everybody just gets one burger? Like,
I don't know how it works. I don't think it's
gonna be made to order. I think you. I think
you're doing you one day and as many as you can.
You're just gonna throw them at people wherever they are.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Just but he was throwing toilet paper at people.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
You know, it's exactly right.
Speaker 7 (12:56):
Exaucet.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
You're gonna hit people on the head with a hamburger.
So they're gonna come and they're gonna get that. So
I think that's a cool promotion. But they play the
Brewis this weekend. I'm just going ahead and tell you
I think they probably get swept. But if we win
two of three on Monday, you're gonna hear like like,
I'm gonna start to completely believe.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
You're not getting swept.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
It's like Roulette when you walk up and all of
them are rent. At some point, a Black's gonna hit.
They're not gonna win fifteen in a row.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
It's been swept all year, the only team in baseball
it's not been swept all year.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Just for the to.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Drew's point, then at some point you are gonna get swept,
because at some point it's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I don't need that negativity on my team, Like Shannon,
I mean, I.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
Know every like I don't know. I know more players
on the Rids than the do UK football. If I'm
being honest with you, like I know the whole roster,
I even know the Triple A team. You can know
that the Invans know they live in Yes the bats
that's are reloaded right now with players I I don't
recognize myself as to how into baseball I am. I
(14:00):
love it, it's I don't.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
It's not so much of baseball. I'm a Reds fan.
I still know who's on the other team for.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
The Reds to play baseball.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
So you're like, somebody asked me who they're playing the Brewers.
Who's on the Brewers.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
I don't know one person on the Brewers, Robin Yant,
Paul Molitor. I think that's really that's all on Craig Console.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
You don't know the player on the Nichols basketball team either,
But you're still a Kentucky basketball fan.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
And I say to Nickels, say to nickel State, eat it.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
And I'm now as redtastic as you could be.
Speaker 9 (14:32):
Eight.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
If I'm nine, at least until Monday, when I'll be
Summervilly be over again. If I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven, text machine is seven seven two
seven seven four five too. Would you go get the
free burger, by the way, would you go fight the
masses to get it?
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Depends on how long it's gonna take. If I can
do it, quickly. Yes, if I got to stand in
line for longer than twenty minutes.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
I would love, though, to do a sports show in
Milwaukee and be like out front, Oh, just set up
right there and set up right there, and why I
mean it would be That would be an unbelievab thing
to watch happen, don't you think?
Speaker 6 (15:02):
Oh yeah, But as far as get in line, I'll
just buy the burger the next day for normal price.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
We'll take a break. Very back, kis welcome back, take
E Sports Radio. One person writes on the text machine
seven seven two seven four five two five four with
Ryan Gone as Drew plain Ride. How did he say
thirty thousand burgers?
Speaker 5 (15:21):
I know, I know how you know?
Speaker 4 (15:23):
This is you. You were on your little message thread.
That's what happened. You didn't hear me say one.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Hundred No break it?
Speaker 6 (15:29):
Then hold on, let me defend myself. Did No, there's
several locations doing one hundred thousand. I bet one store
is not doing more than thirty.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
You didn't hear me. He didn't. He didn't hear me.
Sound let me defend myself. No, no, no, he didn't.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
I did absolutely, But you did not say there are
several locations. One shopping store cannot make more than thirty
thousand a day.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
He didn't hear it, he he said, He glossed.
Speaker 6 (15:52):
I am standing no, my predictions said, let me defend
my damn prediction. Once one store can I make more
than thirty thousand? There are several stores involved making one
hundred thousand. Mine is even high.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Apparently they're not just giving it to everybody Milwaukee, they're
giving it to everyone in Wisconsin.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
WHOA If I had had that detail, I would not
have said thirty thousand.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
I thought one grill and one shot. If he had
heard me say one hundred and seventy thousand earlier, Yeah, God,
can you everybody in Wisconsin? What's the population of Wisconsin?
That's millions of people.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Right, gotta be yeah, five point eight million?
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Five the five point eight million burgers.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
That's there's no way.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
It says they're preparing for a hundred thousand.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
So again, you all have extremely extremely high predictions for
one location.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
She did one hundred and seventy last time.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
I'm just telling you, if they did five point if
they have five point eight million people shd in, then
they're only planning for one hundred thousand trouble.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
They are in trouble.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah, I mean that's gonna be a promotion. Do you
all think they're gonna.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Make these burgers?
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Oh, they're gonna make them everywhere. They're gonna to make
This is gonna be very, very excited have a burger printer.
What Verson writes Matt, the show that Shannon is feuding
with talked more about him yesterday again said that he
could kiss that they could kiss his his ass.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
I think he just wants me to do that.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
He does.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
I think he's got like.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
Here's what I learned yesterday. Okay, I knew. I knew
that the cup Man would do what the cup Man does.
He's getting some attention. I'm fine with that. You know what,
he's he's ninety three years old. I'm glad for him.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
No, I'm glad.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
He's a he's a legend in Kentucky sports. I'm glad
for him to get some attention. Here's what I've learned though, Twitter.
If you put my name or KSR into your tweet,
I think the algorithm boosts it because he's random. Accounts
will mention us and then all of a sudden they'll
have like three hundred likes and so like, that's you know,
(17:52):
that's just what happens, and so they're gonna So I
understand why.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
People do it. I also think it's funny though, like
he zooms in on you, shnon Normally I'm the controversial
or Ryan.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
People make fun of him. This is all Shannon. This
is ninety three year old cutler versus STD and I
love it. I want I want that in the steel Cake.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
It's been the best week for his show since its existence.
People actually know what exists now. It's awareness, like we're
bringing awareness to his ways.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
What fires him up. It's the no one listens that, Shannon.
That's what really makes me Dan.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Sometimes sometimes the truth makes you mud.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
It clearly makes me mad when you say that, and
I and I get Then did you watch what person
writes a text me She ask ANYTHINGK Thursday? Did you
were any of you part of the one point four
million people that watch the Taylor Swift podcast live. It's
the second most watched live podcast of all time. I
look this morning, it has nine point eight million people
(18:50):
have already watched it. The record of all time for
podcast is one hundred and forty four million, and it's
a Saudy Arabian love podcast.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I'm not kidding you.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
We thought it was Cat Williams, Shannon Sharp or Joe
Rogan Donald Trump. It is a South excuse me, Saudi
Arabian love podcast where a Saudi Arabian guy tells men
how to love their wives. I'm not kidding you. That
is the most watched podcast one hundred and forty four million.
Cat Williams' second with Stanton Starper that's like seventy five,
(19:24):
so it's like double the highest one. So my prediction was,
all said and done, they will pass Shannon Sharp and
Cat Williams. I don't think they're gonna catch the Saudi
Arabian Love podcast because there's so many people that live
in the rest of the world.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
We forget the rest of the world's pretty big, drew right,
and we just think it's all America one hundred. When
I heard one hundred and forty four million people watch
the Saudi Arabian Love podcast, first of all, I want
to see the Saudi Arabia what we're doing hair casts?
But are you surprised by that?
Speaker 6 (19:52):
Yeah, I had the shattering Cat Williams record. I didn't
know about this. They're not gonna catch.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
They're not gonna catch the Saudi Love Shack.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
I wasn't part of the one point three million. I
got on before it got to one point three million.
I was part of like the nine hundred thousand. So
I watched the whole podcast last night.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
It was long, it was I was wondering if they
talk about They talked a lot about her music, and
I had it on while I was doing I was
in it for Jason.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Kelsey was nice, though, like they seem.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Like I've Kelsey's I was completely wrong about I thought,
especially Travis.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
I thought he was a complete dolt. Seemed like a goober.
And I actually think they seem.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Like pretty good dudes to be honest with you, and
I think they'd be fun to hang out with.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
My favorite part was just Jason budding in with the
dumbest questions or stories, Like at the Bill's game, he
just took a baby and brought it to the suite
to meet Taylor and they're like, whose baby is that.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
He's like, I don't know, I just grabbed it on
the way over. But but it was good. But they're
not gonna They're not gonna catch the Saudi Love pun
they're not. Let's go to uh, Trevor, go ahead, Trevor.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
Hey, Matt i' would talk about Jay and I yesterday.
It got me thinking, I'm a huge UFC fan and
they just signed a multi billion dollar, multi year new
TV deal, but they also just went through a big
anti trust monopoly lawsuit. Has there ever been anything filed
or do you foresee now that there's so much money
moving around the NCUBA of the NCAA potentially going through
(21:15):
something like that, like a monopogy.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Yeah, they have been accused of being a monopoly before,
and they won the lawsuit.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
I think it was kind of a I think it
was an odd decision. Basically, the court said, well, you
can go play NAI. They said that was the competition,
which is not really true. But I think they've survived
the monopoly lawsuits before. By the way, it's interesting the
JMI contract came out and it's actually not as big
(21:47):
a raise in money as I thought, or as any
of us thought.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
It's not. The fifteen years, four hundred and sixty five
million dollars includes the nine years that was already signed
and the money that was so it's really only extended
the deal for six years so it's fifteen and it's
not four hundred and sixty five million dollars just for
the fifteen years. It's four hundred and sixty five million
for the total of the contract going back to twenty fifteen. So,
(22:16):
as I understand it, our money went up from fourteen
million a year to like nineteen million a year, which
is more, but it's not what I thought it was,
which was thirty one million a year, And in fifteen
years that's not going to be what it is not
going to be the same amount of money.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
So it was interesting if you go read the wording
of the press release, it's worded to kind of mislead
you a little bit about how much money it is.
But you know, it is more money than it was
by a decent amount. But it's not only it's as
much as we thought it was when we said it
the first time. So we just need him to get players.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Oh two yea.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
As long as you get the players, none of it matters.
A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven
berread back TJ.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay now.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton mortgage.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
She also said that Shannon that she didn't understand the
rules of football and that she thought all the players
played against each other.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
So I guess Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Introduced her to Jared Goff and Josh Allen and she thought,
Shannon that they played to get like they hit each
other even though they're both quarterbacks. Yeah, and she said,
I wondered who would win, and then like, that's obviously
not what happens. I do think there's a lot of women, though,
that are like that. I appreciate that she admits it.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
I mean one of my ex.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Girlfriends knew literally nothing about sports when I started dating her.
Since when we started, was like, why do they stop
in football?
Speaker 5 (23:46):
Stop?
Speaker 4 (23:46):
And I said what do you mean? And she's like,
they run for a little bit and then they stop.
Everybody falls down and gets up, And if you don't
know the rules, you can see how it looks like that, Shannon, Right,
they just stop.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
If you don't don't understand that when somebody gets tackled,
the play is over and you reset.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Yeah, they ask that, but I would think that, you know,
he would explain it to.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Her, and she says she knows now, she says she
she even mentioned the name of our podcast, Covers zero.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
It's one of the things that she one of the
things that she knew.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Yeah, she's talking about how she's so into it now
that when they drafted Xavier Worthy, she's like texting her
group chat we got Zaveryworthy and they're like, Tyler, what
are you talking?
Speaker 5 (24:22):
How did you know who Zavier Worthy?
Speaker 9 (24:23):
Was?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
All right, we got some breaking news. Uh running no Ah,
all right, So this is this is someone writing me
telling me what Mark Pope said in an interview with
Matt Norland. So, to be fair, I have not heard
this interview, and six oh six four six' five is
giving these. Facts So i'm gonna assume six oh six
(24:47):
four sixty five is saying the right thing because the
interview just came out like a couple hours.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Ago but if they're, not it's not my. Fault SIX
o six four six. Five here's what SIX o six
four six five. Says Mark pope did an our long
interview With Matt norland on. YouTube here were some of the.
Highlights yellovich will be on campus by. TOMORROW i believe. That,
yep that's kind of been hinted in other Places Jaden
(25:12):
quinton's failed his driver's.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
TEST i believe that, too but that's. Unfortunate mario's.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
LAUGHING i mean we saw, Him we saw the. Video,
yeah there were reports that he didn't take.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
It jay this is six h six four sixty five
says he failed his driver's.
Speaker 6 (25:29):
Test jack had a good source that said he just
wasn't able to take it. Yet so Maybe pope's throwing
him under the.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Bus Maybe pope's throwing him under the, bush.
Speaker 9 (25:40):
This.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
Says Nor lander said in the interview That kentucky lost
one player in the portal class because they got. Outspent
that is definitely true on. ONE i think it might
be true on. Two but they definitely got out spent
on the kid that went To.
Speaker 6 (25:57):
Indiana, yeah that was the one Where ryan was so,
confident and as much as we like to make fun
Of ryan, It indiana did come through it at the
last minute and take that one might even hire his
assistant or his coach as an assistant at one point
that was an.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
OPTION i think they also Don Van, dan the kid
that went To New. MEXICO i don't know if they
got out, spent but they were. Surprised he he he
committed To kentucky and then ended up going TO. UCLA
i think THE uk people found out when the announcement came,
out so they were a little. Surprised and then finally
A hawthorn is red? Shirt is THAT i didn't know.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
THAT i didn't know people red shirted. Anymore to be,
HONEST i, mean that's a guy that would be good for.
HIM i don't expect to open.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Again this is not me saying it's six oh six
four six,' five but Is that is? THAT possible, I
mean i guess. It's Possible if yelovich, gets here you got.
THIRTEEN guys, i mean it'd be good.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
For him he's he's very thin, right now even though
he's looked a little flashy in some of the, SUMMER
videos i don't know if he's quite ready for. This
LEVEL so, i MEAN like, I said i didn't know
people still. Red shirted, but yeah if there's a guy
to do, it him he's he's a long. Term project.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
So yeah so those are the six oh six four
six five notes About The mark pope Interview with Matt.
No orlander i'm sure within the next few minutes people
will have checked and we'll we'll confirm or deny. Those
comments so y'all have at?
Speaker 9 (27:17):
You?
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Exciting, YEAH yeah I mean i'm glad he's just done.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
With it anyone still had concerns?
Speaker 3 (27:25):
He's here, he's here but does that mean he's good
to GO or i.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Think he wouldn't come over here, unless apply although, inies
did but that was a. Long, time yeah now We'll.
See james, Go. Ahead, james, hey guys how y'all? Doing today?
Speaker 10 (27:41):
Doing good so my question to you all is it's
About The. Champions classic it actually falls on my birthday,
this Year and i've made the decision to spend a
good chunk of change. For, tickets okay so do you
all know do y'all have like a ballpark for how
much like good to great seats go for.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
Uh At The.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Champions classic so that's in, the, garden, right? Yes, sir
yeah you know they're not as.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
Bad as you.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
WOULD think, i mean You're Picking, new york so it'll
be the most expensive one that they'll they'll do. Of
IT but i would say if you just want to
get in, the building they won't be. Too bad if
you want to sit, down Low It's New. York city
duke is. Playing there duke has a ton of, grads
THERE so i think it's going to. BE expensive i, Would,
guess drew this is just a gas.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Four to six hundred dollars a ticket. Down low we're good,
one yeah, Right now I'm on stubb upper levels are about.
Two fifty that'll go, down though that that that'll.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Go down my best advice, would be your hotel is
going to be a surprisingly More.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Than yeah let it, take somebody somebody who goes. A
lot here's your choices. On hotel if you want, to
stay this Is Mine matt jones'. Hotel advice there are
you can Stay In times square at hotel that will
disappoint you for an. Okay price but if you want
to have a, nice place just go out to the
(29:08):
edges of the city and stay like In in queens
Or in brooklyn or something. Like that when you try
to get a nice Hotel, in manhattan like just. FORGET it,
i mean don't you agree.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
With, that yeah this is A little i don't Know
how christmas they Are.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
In november, It's true I've already i've already looked for,
this EVENT and i mean they're outrageous Even By new.
York STANDARDS so i wish you well on, the ticket
but be careful with that hotel. The hotel book the
hotel before, the ticket because the hotel will rise exponentially.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
In price the tickets will probably stay very similar to
what they. Are, now.
Speaker 10 (29:44):
Okay see my mother on the lives right Outside, the
BRONX so i don't even have to worry.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
About, that yeah then then then splurge on.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
The ticket i'm, gonna say if you have five to six,
hundred dollars That's what i'm going.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
To get that's just.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
My guess appreciate, The call Bob, and jamestown go.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
For, it.
Speaker 8 (30:05):
Matt what do you think about this cash list? Entertainment
policies now it's anymore when you want to go out
to the, sporting, events, music whatever and it's, all cashless credit. Card,
ONLY yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
I mean i.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
GET it i THINK it's i understand why people want to.
DO it i appreciate. The call you don't have to deal.
With cash if you don't have to deal with cash
as a, business owner then. You don't it's harder for people.
To STEAL so i think that's part. Of it your
employees it's much harder, to STEAL so i think that's
why a lot of people. Want it you do have,
to know Like In, new york it's illegal to not
(30:40):
take cash because it discriminates against people who don't have
the money for a. Credit, card right so if, you're
poor you might not be able to get a, credit
card you might not be able to get a bank
debit card that gives. You access so Like In, new
york it's actually illegal not to. TAKE cash i don't
know if that's True. IN kentucky i Think, in kentucky
if somebody doesn't want to, TAKE cash i.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Means.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Cashless YEAH so i used to think everything should, be
cashless AND then i thought about what it would be
like to live if you couldn't didn't have access to,
A CARD.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
And i think that is kind of discriminatory to not
give people the ability to.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Do cash the other, thing is do we want to
make It in america where every financial transaction goes through
one of like three companies you KNOW what, I, Mean,
Visa MasterCard, american EXPRESS and i Guess what discover.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Or something you want to make it.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
To where every single financial transaction, we do four companies
get to take a Share. Of shannon that doesn't seem
one hundred, percent right, you?
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Know, right, YEAH yeah i think maybe it's just quicker
too for a lot of these places to be able
to scan a card and.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Move on.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
It is but if you were, a mayor would you
say that places should have to?
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Take, cash yeah for the reason that you just laid,
out there like. Not everybody we think that everybody, has
cards but not. Everybody does there are some people who
don't have cards and still only. Carry cash now that
might be a very very, small percentage but those people
do still exist who don't, Have cards and what?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
About them the.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Quicker, right now until you're behind the person that didn't
know it's cash lists and, they're like well HOW do?
Speaker 5 (32:14):
I pay and.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
That that think about people they get paid and there
are people that get paid?
Speaker 5 (32:19):
In, cash yeah what? About them okay about?
Speaker 3 (32:23):
That's?
Speaker 5 (32:23):
Right, that yeah what?
Speaker 3 (32:26):
About them look At my matt standing up for. The
STRIPPERS but i mean there's.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
A lot of people that get paid. In cash and
there's a lot. In there it's like.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
You, wait tables when, you leave your pockets are full.
Of cash it's a hidden part of.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Society unfortunately but like you can't just exclude those people from.
The economy so Like when rapperina, Did that to, be
fair probably people that GO to rup would, have cards.
Et CETERA but i am sure there are people that
Go to repperina that for whatever reason only have cash,
on them and it's, you KNOW so i understand why
people want to, do IT but i actually think it's a.
(32:59):
Bad policy it's like a lot, of policies it forgets
the poor.
Speaker 6 (33:04):
And eventually people get used. To it but older people,
RIGHT now, I mean i've seen it all the TIME.
AT up i know people they're shocked when you say.
Card only it's almost like they don't know what, To, do, like.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
Well what do? You can't but you mean you can't
take my twenty dollars bill if you're.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Taking My grandmother and if she had lived, till now
she wouldn't have known what to do in. Those scenarios,
SO yeah i, mean people is that same With.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
MY yeah i don't think my grandfather ever carried. A
card it was.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Always CASH so i DO think I actually i get
why people, do IT but i actually don't think they
should for. All, y'all now there's some wild myths floating
AROUND About Uk Federal. Credit union let's go and. Bust them,
myth one you got to be PART of uk.
Speaker 9 (33:47):
To.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Join false myth two joining as. An ordeal. That's wrong
this wanted me to go.

Man money he only. CARRIES cash i like THE phrase
i hate, electronic Money although i'm gonna be saying something
like that when it comes to like everything, Being bitcoin
i'm and, BE like i hate non. REAL money i
(34:39):
FINALLY got i finally stopped getting my.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Physical check see you're you're part, OF it, i KNOW
but i.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
LIKED it i liked carrying the check to the bank
and FEELING like i had. Real money and it was
LIKE when i handed it, TO him i, was, LIKE
okay i have. Been paid now you just Check the
now you just check the ledger and, you're like oh YOU.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
And i with the last two holday that actually still.
GOT checks, i.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Like if it was up, To me i'd still. Get
it but they were kind, of, like okay. It's time
you don't have a.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Printer anymore.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
One person what About the? Amish people they don't do?
Electronic cards what they need have to. Have cash very.
Good point you don't think about, you see you got
to think about all, these, people right and then what
if your system, goes down which happens that's Happened At.
Chaos bar your system, goes down then you got to
(35:29):
pull out that old thing that scans. YOUR card i
was at a restaurant just to cut last week and
the thing went down and they made you put in
your number and then, it says we'll we'll run. It
LATER and i was a little nervous. About that you shan't, It,
RIGHT like, i mean what are you going to do?
Speaker 5 (35:44):
With? It now you're gonna hang out with it for.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
A while you could pass that on to anybody and
they can get access to. Your, account well.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
That brings me to ANOTHER point i already had written,
down today Which. Is florida florida football is doing faceless
or face techno. This year you will have the Option
at florida of when you buy, a ticket you can
turn on a feature where you won't need to have.
The ticket you can just scan your face, all right
(36:12):
so like clear at, the airport but, For tickets florida
is at this point making. It optional but the maker
of the product says they hope to get to a
point that all tickets will just be.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
YOUR face.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
I this stuff freaks, Me Out Like i'm i'm not
against the idea of somebody having, my face but this
would make it to where, long term if they made
it to where you had to use, your face you
couldn't resell.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
Your tickets see this is where this, Is, going chiton
this is where.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
It's going universities are going to use this technology so
when you buy the tickets, from them you cannot resell
them on a secondary market in order for somebody else to,
get them you'll have to go back through the school
and pay. A.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
Fee AGAIN, m m you See what. I'm saying don't have.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
The resell they'll have, the resell have to go through
the university or the professional sports team.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Or whatever, but like what if you want to give?
Them away what if you til get it to her
and your face doesn't look the same as it did a. Few,
HOURS see i don't know how facial.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Technology WORKS if i get, beat up will it still look?
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Like Me if ryan got sucker punched Before, the South if.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
Ryan's got a, swollen id does?
Speaker 9 (37:26):
It?
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Go well this Is just ryan with a.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Swollen life What if i'm fired up for the GAME
and i painted in my, FACE blue i got A
big uk on.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
My forehead YOU know i don't on my phone with.
My FACE if i have a, hat on it might.
Not WORK if I when i, Got glasses sometimes, it
works sometimes. It doesn't what if you can't get into
the game because you, you know you ate and have
it you.
Speaker 6 (37:51):
Got chrupik let's also note they still even figured out
how to.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Scan tickets?
Speaker 6 (37:57):
ALL right i mean we how many times we have
long lines when a game is started because the scanner,
was down or the person work and couldn't figure.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
It out now we're gonna go even FARTHER.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
And i have clear at, the airport and there are
multiple times they just look at me and go that.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Just, Go, on, well yeah that's nice if they, Do
that but what else do you do if you're in
that situation. They're, making well that's why i'n't thing necessarily
more complicated than when it needs.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
To be, YOU know i think the reason you if
you Were The New, york knicks the reason you'd like
to do this is you, would say why should stub our.
Secondary value let's make it to where you have to
sell your tickets through us or the face doesn't, Work
right that's why they want to. Do it i'm, just saying,
you know it'd be interesting to See at florida when
(38:43):
they do that, This year like will?
Speaker 6 (38:45):
It work it used to be occasionally mostly. College kids eight.
Am tilgate you go a little. Too hard you don't
want to go to the, game anymore you want to.
Go nap you just hand your. Tickets off do we
have to pick our buddy up out of his chair
and Drag him?
Speaker 5 (38:58):
Bernie situation just put face up there so we can. Go, In.
Yeah flora apparently they're testing it this year, with students
which seems to me to be the worst group to test,
it with but that's who they're. Testing with let's go To,
a jacob, Go, Ahead, Jacob.
Speaker 9 (39:14):
HEY matt i just wanted to ask a. BASKETBALL question
i know that last season there was a lot of
Talk About mark pope's team being a three point, shooting
TEAM and i just wanted to know if there would
be like continuation you think in this, year's team and
then also like who you think will take the most
(39:37):
three point attempts and who you think will have the
highest Three point we, ended up in.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
My opinion, last year not shooting as many threes as
we should appreciate, the call both for the way the
team was built we should have, shot more and also
he just went away from. HIS philosophy i actually think
this year they might take fewer because we have less
shooters on.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
The team There's No kobe bray on, this, team RIGHT
so i think we'll take the same. OR less i
think this team is more of a penetration get to the,
rim team so this may be an evolution In pop
pope's offensive.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
Stock yeah we heard all last summer about one thirty,
a game and he said it throughout the year and
rarely got. To that part of it might be how
thrown off they were. With injuries you know You Had
jackson robinson. Go out kirkrisa would have been good for
one or two a game before he. Got hurt but
looking ahead to, THIS year i don't know that that
thirty number.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Will be who takes? Those threes that's a. GOOD question i.
Speaker 6 (40:32):
DON'T know i still don't Know What jasper johnson's gonna be.
With minutes if he plays a lot, OF minutes i would,
say HIM but. I don't i don't know that he's
gonna play a ton. OF minutes i mean he'll play,
A lot but to lead the team in three, POINT
shooting i need To.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
Think jalen low takes the most. HE could i don't,
know IF but i think he takes. THE most i,
would say if you're gonna make, a bet it's and
it's based. On Minutes jalen low takes. The most but
as far as the, highest percentage who knows And Be
colin chandler, Could Be trent noah, Could Be jasper johnson
(41:07):
Could Be cam williams.
Speaker 6 (41:08):
And if it's, JUST minutes, I mean oway is gonna
be trying to make him and you know he's playing the.
Most minutes even though he's not considered, a shooter he
might have the. Most attempts, so yeah that's a really
interesting question in terms of who takes. THE most, i
mean in, His Mind brandon garrison will take. The most
he certainly will want to take.
Speaker 5 (41:27):
The most.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
There's Legitimately, Low, Uh, Low, Oway, Williams, Aberdeen chandler noah
are six guys you could at least put odds on.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
The, board yeah of who would take, THE most.
Speaker 6 (41:45):
I think my final answer is gonna Be o way
just because, minutes PLAYED and i think he's gonna want
to show off that he's improved his three he took
over to a game.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
LAST year, I say i'm Gonna, say low who are you? Gonna?
Say shannon.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
I'll Go jasper johnson just to be a.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
