Speaker 2 (00:30):
This is Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
We welcome everyone. It is Kentucky Sports Radio, Tuesday, August
the nineteenth. I'm Matt Jones here in our secondary studio,
which has natural light and is beautiful. You can give
shallon Clark's Pumping Shop phone line eight five nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. A Vision Auto Glass
text machine is seven seven two four five two five four.

(00:56):
In this diition sponsored by the T. J. Smith Office,
you called t J. I'll make them hey seven days
till the reopening a KS Bar, eleven days until kickoff
of the Kentucky football season. It's all right here about
to start. Today is a very busy day around these parts.
We've got our final chaos a bar owners meeting today,

(01:20):
which we've been I've been preparing for. Then at three
o'clock at Andy Barr is coming in for an interview
for interrupting with Matt Jones. How about that.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
It's a big good he's a big KSR fan too, right.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
He's a UK fan. I don't know if he listens
to this or not. I mean, he knows who we are,
and he's always been friendly with me, and I even
you know, I thought about runn against him one time
and he's always still been nice to me. So we'll
see today and then next week. Andy Basher is.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
On Yeah yoga. Girl's very jealous of that. She has
a big crush on Andy Basher.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Well, she can't come here, and he's a married man
like you are. She's not so you're married to her,
but she's not married to you.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
But she she she's already asked me to get her
in when Andy come to talk.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
To you, get her and she wants to just come
and sit in the studio.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
She wants to meet him.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Tell her I'll let her meet Andy Barr, Andy from
in the middle of Andy bar That's exactly right. Listen,
it's either nothing or Andy Barr. What does she want?

Speaker 5 (02:27):
She wants or some Andy Bsher. She's like understate of that.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
If you Drew, if you're the woman of your your
love also wanted Andy Basheer. Is that good? Bad? I
guess they're a worse. Uh, celebrity crushes my no offense
and she I would think I would want my girlfriend
to want somebody hotter.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
She thinks he's really hot.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
To tell her she could come in only if she
agrees to wear the government govern met Daddy shirt.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
I'm worried she would have I have. I told you
I've become friends with the woman that started that, and
she's now kind of like that. I can't. I can't
believe I did. She's now kind of like you know
it was COVID. It's completely yeah, I wasn't thinking clear
clearly was a little bored.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
Yeah, I own to Andy Basher t shirts from COVID.
One of them says like, won't you be my good
neighbor or something corny like that.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
You bought that? No, I didn't buy it.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
You have do you have a government I wouldn't have
accepted that those are weird times.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Well, I see, I mean I would just say to you, right,
I think you know when you're when you're dating or
married to somebody, it is certainly the case that they
have like a dream man. Yes, but I would just
Shannon want mine to be. I would want my woman's
to be like Brad Pitt.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, everybody gets aho.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
You don't want it to be accessible and the hall pass.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
You.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Don't don't pick hall pass, says. I had a friend
one time whose girlfriend picked a hall pass that lived
down the street. Yeah, And I was like, you can't
do that. That is plausible, Drew. It has to be
one that's in plaus It can't actually live down the hall.
It cannot be somebody who's in the building.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
Yeah, Like minus Melissa McCarthy, it's unlikely that I've ever
a unique one. Unlikely I'm going to run into Melissa
McCarthy though I never too. Though I'm gonna make you
turn it in. There will be a lot of pressure.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I'm gonna shan him because I feel like if we
were an ever meet her, maybe that's accessible too. For Drew,
it's awkward.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Then it's awkward on these podcasts.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I mean it could, you know it could?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, Ryan's girlfriend. It's actually oddly Lindsey Graham, which I
think probably not accessible. Eight I'm nine two eighth twenty
two eighty seventh text machine is seven seven two seven
seven four five two five before we had a lot
of fun at the KSR golf Scramble once again really hot.
I don't know what it is the days we do

(05:00):
those liuvil ones. God turns the sun up on top heat.
It was a brutally hot day.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
And there are certain areas on that Glenos golf course
where there is no ventilation.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
You know this, This is a scientific fact. The hottest
place on planet Earth is the green on whole eight
glen Oaks. That par three, because it's surrounded by trees,
gets no air circulation, I mean.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
None, And that's where you had people.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
And for ov W has been there for like five
straight years. I don't realize. My heart must have something
against OVW because they put Crixus and Freya the Slayer
and those they are sitting there and when I get there,
they are first of all, they stay. They don't want
to they don't want to wear shorts. They want to
look up. They want to stay so they wear like

(05:54):
silk shirts and jeans that I always drew feel so
sorry for him.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
Yeah, yesterday they helped quench my thirsd with the shot
of hot vodka, providing refreshments out in the heat on there.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
It's never been good because I give them and the
chaos bar people money for alcohol and I'm like, get
something people will like and then they'll come in with
like warm rum. I'm like, you realize it's ninety seven
degrees out here.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
I think we had hot vodka of a brown bag
at the BW Hole. A lot of great sponsors with
drinks that they were among them, just.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
A little different. Well, but thank you for everybody that came.
We had a lot of people. Everybody seemed to have fun.
A lot of sunburns when they went home. But it
was a good day. And now, like I said, eleven
days until the start of football, and you may remember yesterday.
What was it? Was it Genny that called in and

(06:49):
gave me heck.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yes, she did?

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Is that right?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Took you to task a little bit?

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Yeah, I mean Genny had things to say.

Speaker 7 (06:55):
She did.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
I was glad to hear she definitely had notes. I
will say this, Genny, if I'm nine to eight oh
twenty two eighty seven. I had to cut you off
because we were at the break. I will let you finish.
She said she had other points she did. If you
want to call I if I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven, I'm glad to give you the
chance to make your other points, because I did have
people write me and say that they liked Jenny's positivity,

(07:19):
that she might be doing a better job than UK
Football at getting them through excited for the season. She
could be the head of marketing, she kind of. I
bet she's a school teacher. She was very.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
Organized, she had notes, She was quick to hush you
when you needed to be hushed.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Did give me up.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I was getting school teacher vibes from her, but I
liked to hear more you. You sat right down in
your seat and shut up and listen.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
I'm not gonna chark you with I mean, she said
she was seventy. When you get to be sixty five,
is that when you can go on aarp. Now you're
getting there, I know, maybe next month, But when you
get to that point and you're a woman, I'm gonna
let you say what you want. A lot of men
sixty five and up still angry, still mean, still haven't

(08:02):
learned to just accept life. Then they get to like
eighty five, I think they start to see their mortality
and they calm down.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
The softest spot you have for callers are older ladies
and camels and kids. No, not kids. What he tights, Billy,
that's not good with you.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I'm good.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I sit and talk to kids screaming kid yesterday.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, but they're not calling into the show. I don't like.
It's the kids in the wild oh that I have
issues with. If a kid calls into the show Fairy,
then that's I see myself in the kids that call
into the show. I never called into shows, but I
would because I would have like I would have called
it if this existed when I was a kid. I

(08:50):
would have listened every day. I would have called Michael
from Dallas. I would have so. Yes. But but no
one gets better more sympathy than when in over sixty five,
just because you know they've been through it, right, They
grew up when women were like second class citizen, huh,

(09:12):
and so they've been through it. So I'm gonna be
respectful to them, even if they're putting me in my place.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Sounds like we need to hear from more women sixty
five and older.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Noah, that way you won't interrupt on them like a whole.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I'm like, we have a whole set of calls that
women sixty.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Five what we need.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
If we're gonna do that, we need to set it
up someday. It needs to be a set day. It
needs to be a set day. But women sixty five
and over, like, get themselves ready. I'll be checking tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
No, No, a bunch of Grammy Squammi's coming.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Always just make it weird. Wow, what is it about
you that makes you always have to make it weird?

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Well, you know, I'm such a young man, you know,
but that makes it weirder.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
The older you get, the less you can do that.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
I can't really say grammy squammy anymore. I'm lik in
that age bracket. Now.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
He's still figuring out how to be fifty nine.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
It's new to him. It is a lot of people
said they felt bad for you, and they like you
pulled at their heartstrings with the talking about Josiah leaving.
I actually got a lot of texts about that last
night I did too.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
But if parents are getting ready to go through it
or have already gone through it, like last night, I
went home and were loading up his towels and he's
washed claws and socks and underwear. Like, man, he's moving
out the kid?

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Is you let Mario film you moving him in and
the emotions you go through. What if I start balling,
then that's clicks yeah, clipbait. So you want me to
ball the kids to fake it? But like I think you,
one of your strengths is through uh difficulty and happiness.

(10:50):
You've gone through it in public, and when you do that,
people who are going through the same things can relate
to you and they can you know. I mean, I've
talked a lot about it when when I had the
seizure on that show, I've had people. I've had hundreds
of people talk to me about their kids have seizures,
they have seizures. So even though it was hard for
me to show that it helped people, this could be

(11:13):
you because right now all these people are going through
this right People are moving into college right now all
over the country. People are losing their children, people are
becoming empty nesters where they'll never speak to a person
again like you are, and I think it.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Would be good for you to go through that because
you know you're.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
So are you are you? Are you okay with that?

Speaker 5 (11:34):
I'm okay with it, but I guarantee I'll cry. I
almost cried last night, but I said, I'm not going
to cry in front of him when we're trying to
just get packing stuff together.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
You almost cried last night, yeah, because.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
It just kind of hit me, like, you know, he's
he's gonna be in two nights, I'm by myself in
this house.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
I it sounds like that's what you're really worried about,
Like are you you really worried about being by yourself?
I is just gonna be down the street. So he's
gonna be all right.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
But he'll never come home anymore. He's gonna have his
girlfriend over there, his buddies, parties. He's not coming home.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
To be fair R s v P. No for the
dinner Saturday. So he's already he's already. Yeah, he's already,
Like I don't have to go to that stuff really. Yeah,
So wow, right now you're going to start crying right now.
But it's the being alone because but you haven't been

(12:25):
alone in a long time. Yeah, you know, did you
live alone when you were younger? Have you ever lived alone? Never?

Speaker 5 (12:31):
I've always had a roommate.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Never lived alone ever.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
No, because even after the divorce this time, Josiah was
there with me, you know, so I've never really been alone.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Now, you have never been alone? Now, see that. I
can see why that would be hard, because you just
went straight from your parents.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
To college to another marriage, another marriage.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Watch. Yeah, this is I can see him. I'm fifty
nine years old for the first time, has to look
in the mirror and be by himself. Yeah, it's a show.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
I can see you like going to the fridge and
smelling the milk and drinking out of the cart now, and.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
That's I didn't think about it. That's just that's an advanta.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
He's gonna be wandering around probably, Yeah, you're gonna you're
never gonna wear pants. Okay, there's gonna be a lot
of things. Well, listen, I'm we've given you a hard
time about but I'm sure that is hard. I mean,
I've lived alone since I was twenty one, basically straight.
But if you've never done that and you're having to

(13:35):
do it while you're also uh, you know, trying to
keep your kidneys going. I understand. I can understand why
that would be hard.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Like I said, you know, every day after the show,
I'd call him up. We'd usually do lunch together. Well,
those days are over, you know, I gotta eat lunch
with you guys.

Speaker 6 (13:50):
You can still go to lunch with him. I mean
we can almost see campus from this window. He's right,
but he's not. You're right, he's not gonna go. I mean,
if he's already RSVP.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
No, what about Gavin?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Wouldn't My mother gave me a maybe. I don't understand them.
Maybe by the way, you either can go or you can't.
Thought the living boys would show up for free food.
I got six Maybes.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
And I'm like, and Gavin's one of them.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Gavin's a maybe, just size of Nope. If I'm nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, Jinny, I'll let
you finish your point. If you would like to call
plus open the phone lines. If I'm nine two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven, we're gonna talk about people
got frustrated, at least some people online that I said
Cutter had a chance to win the job. Well, yesterday
Mark Stoop said, the same thing. Does that mean anything

(14:33):
or not? That's next here on Kosi Welcome Back, take
Ey Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty
two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven
four five two five four one person rights, Matt Uh,
you said you've lived by yourself since you were twenty one.
Do you think you could ever live with anyone? Yeah?

(14:56):
I think if I was married, though, I'd still like
want my own room, your own room. Well, no, I
mean I'm not saying I wouldn't share a bed with
my wife. I think I would want my own room. Yeah,
I don't think that's crazy. Do married couples not have
their own room?

Speaker 5 (15:13):
Yeah? Yeah, somehow she'll have her office room, he'll have.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
I'm not even talking man cave. Like I want my
own room with my own like clothes, sneakers, books, books,
although I might put the books like the in the
But why is that crazy? Shannon have your own room?
Do you share a bedroom with your girlfriend?

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, but yeah, of course I do.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
I'm not saying not sleep together, but I'm saying, don't
you want a place for your own stuff?

Speaker 5 (15:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Like I have, like my own man cave is what
I call it, you know, but.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Is that where you keep your clothes?

Speaker 5 (15:46):
See, I mean, so you want your own closet area.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Well, have you ever seen a woman's clas I mean
they're like had do you have space through with somebody?
And some people have tiny closets, thinking I've only lived
really with two with I lived with my parents and
tall and that's it.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
So it's a complete opposite of me. I've never lived alone.
You've never lived with somebody, So it's kind of hard.
If we had like two months.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
When I was writing my book in New York where
I lived with my then girlfriend, Yeah, in her place,
but that was so small and like, no, what was.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
That cat's name?

Speaker 4 (16:22):
May Bear Maybar, may.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Bear Man Matt teaching you how to live alone would
be a great show.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
That's the expert. You're doing it for the first time.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Actually, I can teach you how to live with somebody.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
I don't know that you do it. Well. We've had
we've had we've had a number of issues. A f
I'm nine eighty seven. All right, let's talk about Mark
Stoops yesterday says this is a competition. Now, cutter Bowlie
and Calzada surprised. I was saying, other schools have picked
their quarterback in the last day or two, and we

(16:57):
seem to open it back up.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
I mean, I still don't think it's a battle. I'm
surprised he leaned into it at all, though, But I
think he said Zach and Cutter are battling right now.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
I mean I would be.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
I still think I'd be shocked if Cutter boldly started
outside of an injury. But uh, I was surprised Stoops
leaned into it because I mean, they're starting Week one
prep in a few days. Camp's ending now, it's it's
go time, and I'm surprised he waited to say it
and maybe one of his last speaking moments before a
Week one begins.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Do you think that you think it is a battle?
I mean, it is an odd time to say it. Literally,
all the other schools that have been battling, like in
the last day or two said Okay, this is our guy,
and we seem to be flipping it back up.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
I think he even goes back to the spring we
kept you know, during the spring, we were hearing that
Cutter did all the right things in the film room,
on the field, off the field got better. Then when
fall camp started, you know, the work started leaking out said,
hey man.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
But do you think it's real?

Speaker 5 (17:52):
I saw some people who thought it was gaming ship
on Stoop's part eleven days away from the first game.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I think agree with that, though, by the way, he
does like to fake say that he does, oh, we
might play two quarterbacks, and then it never happens, so
you you actually think though it's real.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
I think it's legit. So it kind of goes along
with everything I've been hearing since Fall camp started that
Cutter is like legit gonna be Maybe.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
There's not one person who has watched the game practices
who will not tell you Cutter has been better. Now,
there's caveats to that, right, which is sometimes Cutters going
up against second string defense and Zach's going up against
first and so there's caveats to all that. But people
all do say that Drew and we don't see him,
so it's hard to know. We don't have the equivalent

(18:35):
of NFL preseason games where you get to see him
on the field. But let me ask you this. Let's
say you pay two million dollars for a quarterback but
the backup's better. Do you just say, well, we eat
that two million you got.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
Yeah, you play the best guy. I just every Boa
deserves all the praise he's getting because he has looked
much better. But I just I still feel like Kalsada.
It's not like Kalzot has been bad. It's just been
like Cutter's had like an oh wow moment. It's not
even about money if you in practices we've heard, I mean,
Calzada has been the one all of camp.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
There hadn't been a.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
Day where it's like, let's go fifty to fifty and
give Bully. Why would say that, I don't know, that's
what I'm say. I'm surprised he did say. It could
be the case at this point with the season starting,
this is where your practices are gonna be. Bowley or
a Calsada NonStop could be a way to keep Bowley
engaged or keep could be a way to keep Galzada
going hard, just make him not feel comfortable that he

(19:28):
still needs to be given as best as a season approaches,
or away for Bowley, like, hey, what do you think
it is that that he's just trying to keep him
moving okay.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Because he's done nothing. I think you think there's a
chance that Cutter Bowley is the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
I'm drue. I don't think he's gonna start. No, Calzada
still starts. Cutter will be on the field, though, I
think the I think he will.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Be that when I have a hard time believing because
we hear that every year and they never play that game.
I mean, Gavin Wims it would play at the goal
line on third and one. But it's not like they
gave him series. Yeah, he's a running style like bo
isn't like a running quarter Yeah, so I just I
would be surprised they do that. Here's what I think
he's setting up. I think he's setting up that if

(20:17):
we get to halfway through the third quarter and it's
ten to seven Toledo Shannon, that he might put Cutter
bowl in.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Oh god, see, that would be the scenario. I would
not would have put him in, like me either, we're
way down. Maybe I could see, you know, there'd be
a justification for doing that. But if it's a close game,
I don't think you can just yank your starter. I mean,
you gotta believe, well.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
If you the moment you yank Kyle Zada, he's done, right,
He's probably done for the year. So I mean, I
just I don't know. There's no scenario where you can
kind of shuttle those two back and forth and you
think it's gonna work well when you have that old
adage when you have two, you have none, I think
is one hundred accurate.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
I think you're right. You pull him in the third
quarter of the first game of the season against Toledo.
That's a bad look.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
What I would like to know is call Zado just
playing down to second string caliber or is cutter.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Bo We don't know, because we don't know.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
I mean, this is one of the two is happening.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
This is one of the things that's hard, like when
when people criticize up Us or anybody for spacing, we
don't get to see it. And by the way, most colleges,
most colleges will let their reporters see more than Kentucky does,
but none of them let them see all everything. So, Drew,
it's just, I mean, on some level, we're guessing. But
I can tell you this. The Mark Stoops staff is

(21:39):
a leaky staff. It's not. It's not. It's not like
the Mark Pope staff, which nothing gets out unless they
want them. People to know, right, most of the leak
is pro Cutter, it's not. I think you've made an
important point. It's not anti Calzada. Nobody says he stinks,
but it is like, dude, Cutters the guy or not,

(22:00):
maybe not Cutter as the guy, but Cutter's very pretty
doing well. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
I mean his nine and day different than what we've
got to see in game situations a year ago. I've
been to two practices, and I mean Cutter deserves all
the praise. I just if you start praying him too much.
It sounded like Calzada is not getting the job done,
and I haven't heard anything that cals Otta is underperforming.
It's just kind of like, wow, ur QB two is
really good. Yeah, eight five, nine, twenty two eighty seven.

(22:23):
We got some folks on the line, will take your calls.
I want to talk about basketball. Uh, Trent Noah got
like the best compliment you could get from Mark Stoops
yesterday or Mark Pope yesterday.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
Maybe Mark Stoops is bragging on him too, No, I.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Mean he got Trent Noah got a big thumbs up
from uh from Mark Pope and Jenny I gave you
the floor, come on, and she didn't call. That's one
thing maybe she just can't handle the pressure. Ooh, is
that a call out? Well, I'm just saying I'm you
got the floor and then you don't do it. We'll

(22:56):
be right back. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney, called Tachy.
He'll make them pay now.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Here's Matt Jones, quarterback Tucky Sports Radio. If I'm nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, two little things
here from the world. Last night at ten o'clock on NBC,
apparently they did a show about the Eastern Kentucky flooding.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
I wish I'd have known that.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
I had known that too, I would have watched it.
I don't know if anybody watched it, tell me if
it was good. Seven seven two seven seven four five
two five four. Apparently they like did a whole special
on it, which I think is actually very cool of
them to do, assuming it was not a negative. I
don't know how you could negatively portray a flood, but uh,
I mean, you can't possibly portray it. But you know,
as long as they weren't patronizing to the people, which

(23:39):
I don't think they would have been, So somebody saw it,
let me know if it's good. Maybe it's on Peacock
could watch it. Uh, people are up in arms. Keenland
today put their fall meat tickets on sale and apparently
Shannon complete disaster website crashed. Nobody can get on the internet.
Is furious. Uh you know horse.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
People fascinated when like sites crashed, Like you know you're
about to sell a ticket, you know, yeah, thousand.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
I could keep a site working for fifteen years. It's
hard because like it's hard because you buy a website
and you buy essentially traffic, or not buy traffic, but
you buy ability to handle traffic. Shann. Yeah, but then
you have moments where there's like you really only need
it two or three times a year, and it's not

(24:25):
like at least when I had a site, it wasn't
like you could just say, okay, turn up our volume
for a day.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
But if you know what I mean, it might be
worth having.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Yeah, I mean that's a huge corporation. But sure you
always do that, did you? It did not work for you.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
I'm a victim again. I never have luck with the
Keenland sales. The process is at the best, but this
time was worse than usual. I had like tickets in
my cart when it went on so nine ready to go.
They disappeared, so they delayed it till ten am, and
then at ten am they've now delayed it until tomorrow.
So it's been nine am today forever.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
And I've been there. I've been there. I mean when
we won a national championship in twenty twelve, me and
Hubby were up all night cause are just every time
we put our site back up in crash crash, crash, crash,
and like this is a huge night we won the
national championship. People want to see content and it would
just crash, crash crash. We couldn't get We couldn't. There
was no level that we could afford to buy from

(25:20):
our provider that could hold those moments, those recruiting moments,
like you just you couldn't. So ultimately we ended up
having to buy our own server, which cost a lot
of money and it was like a whole thing, but
we just could not keep it up during those moments.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
So what is it with Kingly and this falls or
something special going on and people were flooding in with
tickets today or is this happening when it.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Went on sale? Was today?

Speaker 6 (25:41):
I guess I wouldn't think traffic would be any crazier
than it normally is.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Yeah, I wouldn't think i'd handle it. One person rights, Matt,
my wife and I lived up and lived together. I
would assume so and have separate bedrooms. It's the only
way it works. Otherwise she takes up all the space.
That's exactly right. I'll also note the whole act of Okay, Shannon,
you're ready for a controversial non married guy, baby, let's go.

(26:06):
I get it, and I get especially when you're dating
and like first married. But the act of sleeping together,
I don't know how we confuse that with the act
of being married, Like sleeping in the same bed. You know,
you buy big bed so you can have space, put

(26:31):
her into closet.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Well first of all six four, Yeah, I get a
kingsize bed.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
What's the problem, Well, it's still I like I like
to sleep.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Diagonal, diagonal, Well, sleep diagonal.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Then you're an ex At that point you parallel sounds
saying it's odd that we've combined the act of sleeping
with being married. I understand the other acts that occur
in a bed, but why why is sleeping the thing
we don't say you have to shower together an option

(27:05):
it is, and sometimes maybe you want. But why have
we said sleeping is the thing that you all had,
you all have to do together, like me exactly like
you snore, some people like twitch or kick? What just
I'm just laughing.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
I'd say the answer is most people have one bedroom
when you know they're married and living together.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Point that's that that that is that is you have option.
That'd be a good No, that's a fair point. Most
people probably have one bedroom and that I just you
know anyway, Mark, go ahead, Mark.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
Hey Man during the show. I'm from Collegeville, so all
this guys in your county would love to see Cutter play.
But I know because it should start. But the first
time he throws two interceptions that it should be brought in.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Well, we'll see. I appreciate the call. Adam Luckett apparently
wrote on chas board that Cutter will start. He takes
ninety percent of the reps in practice, but if things
don't go well, you casada, I'm sorry, takes ninety percent
of the reps in practice, but if things don't go well,

(28:22):
Cutter may be in to put a spark. Yeah, does
that seem right to you.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
Yeah, and I can see that too. You know, you
struggle out right out of the gate. You want a spark.
Maybe that cutter could bring you coming off the bench.

Speaker 6 (28:33):
Yeah, I agree that if it's not working for Calzada,
this is more than ever under Stoop's time here can
he be quicker to go to the second option? Just
going into week one? They didn't do anything in camp
to suggest that Bowley could steal it before the first game.
It's been Calzada leading the team and running the show
since day one of camp.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
How many of our fans, Shannon, what percentage do you
think would recognize Calzada by face? Honestly? Maybe what do
you think I'll go under? I was like, very many
at all. Let me go, Ahad and tell you. I
wouldn't have until media day, that's it. I would. I
had no idea until you walked down up as they

(29:16):
were bringing him up. I assume by his build that
that's who it was.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Assumed it, but he didn't know it.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
But I didn't know it. You thought it was Nick.
I thought it was his brother.

Speaker 6 (29:29):
I sometimes doing it for a living and constantly involved
in it. I forget how many how little people even
like pay attention to like a media day stuff like that. Like,
I just think everybody's watching the interviews. That's still a
small part of the fan base.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
That's why the Hi Pete thing was so big, because
you know that the R interview with him is now
up to like eight hundred thousand views on TikTok wow.
And I went back and looked, and you go look
at the official UK interviews, they're like it like five.

(30:02):
So the SHIAJ. Pete thing, well, yesterday they had a
UK Football had an event down at like Kentucky Downs
or something, and apparently it was Tom Leach and Mark
Stoops and they were talking about all the players on
the team and so they were talking about Casada and
then the running backs and et cetera. And then at
some point Tom Leech says SHIAJH. Pete and the place

(30:23):
goes for the only time, goes into applause, really like
he's he's the most known Perton. It's like cut Her
Bowli might be the most known just because he's from
Kentucky and all that. But of the guys that are
going to play, I think there's a really strong argument
that SHIAJ. Pete, the offensive lineman is the most known
person on the team. Well, isn't that weird? It is weird.

Speaker 5 (30:46):
But he's such a monster, and he's a good talker,
and he's an American Indian, and he's got all these
things that make him an interesting figure. We want to
know more.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
About him, Shanton. It makes him a figure.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
He is my voice cracked.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
I'm going through popular is Samuel? Go ahead, Samuel, h Samuel,
anytime you're ready? Go ahead?

Speaker 9 (31:16):
Yeah, go ahead? Can you hear me?

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (31:22):
I got one thing here. I think o Calzata hands out. Really,
I hope I do. But I think cutter Byly is
gonna be more in the spark. He's gonna bring the juice. Guys,
do you think he's gonna be the two? He's gonna
be Tua. Well, I ain't gonna go talk to to.
I think he's gonna be He's gonna be many Tua.

(31:43):
He's gonna be Kentucky's Tua.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
But why do you say that? I mean, why, what for?

Speaker 7 (31:46):
What?

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Based on what?

Speaker 9 (31:50):
He's just a bad cat man. He's gonna bring the juice.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
All right, there you go appreciate it called Mini Tua.
You think you think? You think at some point this
year we're to be calling Cutter bowling mini.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
Tua unlikely, but I like the optimism.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
The cutter is six', FIVE i, think isn't HE i
don't know he's about my. Heights i'd say six to
four or something like. THAT a, big big. Fella, Yeah,
no he is. BIG i don't know about Many.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
Tua, yeah two had a pretty, good uh college. Career
he's Many. Tua THEN i think he's starting at some,
point AND i don't think we're going. Bowling, yeah. BOWLING i
thought it was very telling yesterday when the entire room
admitted they couldn't name six.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Starters, yeah the entire.

Speaker 6 (32:33):
Room so When i'm thinking about people Recognizing, CALSADA i couldn't.

Speaker 10 (32:36):
Believe do you think If calsada walked into that, scramble
which presuming those are people who PAID ksr listeners who
care enough to come to a, scramble play, golf pay,
money et, cetera do you think if he had walked in,
there people would have been, like our quarterback just.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Walked, in not if he was in a golf bolo
would have thought he was playing in the, tournament or
he was our quarterback playing in the. TOURNAMENT i think
People shannon would have thought he's playing in the.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
TOURNAMENT i would have, like, oh there's the fourth guy
in your.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
Group, yeah whoever that is to now that does? This
will that'll change after game. One but that's what we talked.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
About is that a mistake BY uk by not making the.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Mistake if they, win it won't. Matter BUT U k
this idea in the offseason that not talking about the
team and not teaching people about it was. SMART i
think is. Crazy to. Me it's crazy that that's a crazy,
mindset and it's even more important that you do it
in this transfer pool era where you just don't know.

(33:38):
Guys contrast that TO uk basketball and how they're all
doing videos and they're, all you, know they're All jane
Quaints is taking his driver's test and we're learning all.
That you, know WE'RE yellowvich did get To Know me video?
Yesterday and you know what do most people? Know you,
know the one thing everybody did bring, up there's a

(34:00):
picture of them. Jumping, well, okay was that? Ideal probably,
not but they should have leaned into that at least
tell us we don't even. Know most people don't even
know which two guys were jumping. Right one of them Was,
rainer but who is the other? One still can't tell.
YOU i still don't know who the other one. Was
it's just now. Again if we, win none of that.

(34:20):
Matters BUT i think that was a. Mistake if you've
ever dominated a trivia, night or you know every word
to the preamble Like Ryan, lemon then The National Civics
bee is Is, Thursday august twenty, first that's tomorrow Or,
thursday two days from, now four to six pm at
The Kentucky State. Fair they'll have them. Up all these
kids will be on the spot to see who knows
all the civic minded constitution and democracy. Facts should be

(34:44):
exciting and it'll be more fun than a tilta. World
it's brought to you by The Kentucky chamber Of Commerce.
Foundation understanding government and getting you involved in community matters
is important toether The Cannational Civics Bee thursday at The
Kentucky State. Fair we got to talk about The kentucky

(35:55):
yes that's exactly what they. Do and she's always insisted
that she wouldn't like. It and then FINALLY i saw
Clip Leeann. MORGAN i was, Like, MOM i promise you
would like this. Person she's From, Morristown, tennessee which is
thirty minutes from where our family's. From, okay she talks
like all the all the stubble fields In Hancock. County

(36:20):
just watch. Her and now my mom sends me clips
like everything she. Does you, know she put out A tv.
Show my mom didn't love, it but she didn't want
me to tell. ANYBODY i GUESS i just did because
she didn't want to Hurt Leeann morgan's. Career so she's

(36:42):

people are doing the sleep divorce thing these. Days it's
pretty common that way couples who snore won't be miserable
and resent their. Partners m you, know you snore Bad.

kevin go, Ahead.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Kevin, Yeah, matt it's.

Speaker 9 (37:42):
Uh you.

Speaker 11 (37:43):
KNOW i want to preface this by, SAYING i think
it's a great thing for the city Of lexington That
kentland is the specter Of keenland's grown to where it
is international, acclaim et. Cetera but as a, local it's very.
Frustrating year in a year, out it's getting worse and.
Worse AND i think that the culmination of that was
today with the. CRASHING i, MEAN I i'm just trying
to brainstorm. Ideas do we do a Locals? Day and they?

(38:03):
Did you know a lot of certain great, question a
lot of tickets to people who live. Locally but, YEAH
i mean maybe that would be a.

Speaker 7 (38:09):
Good idea with, it.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
Say fifty sixty whatever percent are are you have to
have A kentucky id or something to? Buy because you're,
RIGHT i think the charm Of keenland is losing a
little bit because of what you're. Saying it's become. World
it's the same thing that happened to The, derby and
they you, know they tried to do. It, well let's

(38:31):
Do oaks and then It's derby and then it's five Oh,
tuesday et. Cetera AND i Think louisville in some ways
has lost The derby to the international, crowd even though you,
KNOW i appreciate the. Call this is very similar to
when the people In barcelona who are shooting water guns at, people,
saying get out of our. CITY i do wonder, though
if we've kind of lost the everybody goes To. Keenland it's,

(38:54):
fun you see all it's all different types of. People
now it is a different, place but we always joke
about when we, GO i don't ever know anyone, there.

Speaker 5 (39:01):
ANYONE i, know it's amazing you walk in one of those.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
ROOMS i mean it's no, one.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
NOBODY i don't know anybody.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Body so LIKE i, think it's it is, changing but
at the same, time it's. Successful brings people the.

Speaker 6 (39:12):
City So i've missed three straight meets and for, me
that's pretty, uncharacteristic and a lot of that has been
it's hard to get tickets and plan. Ahead it was
so nice when on A friday afternoon you go out.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
There you, know it's a nice.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
Day let's drop everything going out To keenland and pay
five dollars at the. Door but those days are long.
Gone you just like going to a concert or. Event,
heck it's you Know. August you gotta be prepared weeks
and months and. Events, Ye Johnny, versace go, Ahead.

Speaker 12 (39:39):
Hey matt let's played at the golf tournament. YESTERDAY i
mean really enjoyed. IT i played golf my whole. Life

such a great job with, that and you, KNOW i,

Yeah we tied for the lowest.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
Score what was?

Speaker 12 (40:07):
That and this is something you may seventeen.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
UNDER i actually thought it was. Wow so seventeen?

Speaker 12 (40:14):
Tied, Okay, YEAH i MEAN i actually, Yeah i've played
in them a lot of times and that wouldn't have
tied for the lead in many.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Years but we.

Speaker 12 (40:24):
Lost in a scorecard playoffs to the LONE u OF l,
Fans so you may want to work that into some
of the routes later.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
On, yeah there was ONE u OF l fan. THERE
i should have made. It they were. Lost i'm. Sorry that's.
Bad that's, poor poor. Former wait we'll we'll get them.
Back but thank you for, Playing. JOHNNY i appreciate. It
i'm surprised seventeen to one, because of course was there
for the.

Speaker 6 (40:44):
TAKING i didn't think anything of it when my group,
Left but When billy texted me late last night that seventeen,
ONE i was playing back some putts in my head
that we could have been.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
At least in the. Mix you shot twenty, something we shot.
ELEVEN i didn't even feel like we played very.

Speaker 6 (40:57):
Well, yeah we parted the two holes on the course
and still shot. Thirteen so MAYBE i started dreaming dreams
AFTER i learned seventeen won.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
It there was a FORMER u OF l basketball player
on the nineteen eighty national championship team that played in the.
Scramble who Was Robert BINGHAM i think was his last.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
Name played on that nineteen eighty title.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
Team uh huh For. Louisville he was in the scrambled.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Yesterday, yeah there were there were some people who leaked
and Let louisville fans in. There that's the way it.
Goes let's go To. Jeff go, Ahead.

Speaker 7 (41:23):

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Well he wouldn't Start. Bowlie why he, Wouldn't.

Speaker 9 (41:37):
NO i.

Speaker 7 (41:38):

Speaker 7 (41:46):
CALS i speed. Mobile, YEAH i was a mobile, quarterback
