Speaker 4 (01:06):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven,
text machine is seven seven two seven four five two
five four. We got a lot of people on here,
a lot of people writing good comments on the text machine.
One person writes, Matt, every time you talk about marriage,
I see why you're not married. Although I do think
most of your opinions make sense. Marriage is not about logic.

(01:31):
Do you agree with that?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I one hundred percent agree with that. There's a lot
of give and take with a marriage, though, Are you
Are you ready to accept some of that when you
step into that role? That's the big question.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, I mean there's give and take on everything, right.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, but you know mainly when you're married, it's a
lot of giving, not a lot of taking.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
You agree with that? Look all this good advice he's giving,
But like we do have to think about the fact
that were on number three.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Not true, not married to number three but close to married? Toniver,
What do you put on Facebook? I'm in a relationship?

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Oh you're a Facebook official?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Now I'm Facebook official?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Oh did you really you made it facebook official?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I don't even know how to do that.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
One person said, Matt. I was sitting on one of
the golf holes yesterday glen Oaks.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I saw you.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
My wife and I were on the our patio. I
saw you hit a ball that came within inches of
hitting a person's window.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Did you know that?

Speaker 5 (02:28):
I didn't know it almost hit the window, but I
knew there was a couple that there were some dangers.
First of all, those houses at glen Oaks are right
on the course.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
And then yesterday I was right of the fairway in
a house.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Your house was in the danger zone, and there was
one where my friend Johnny Bruce was like, oh no
as soon as I hit it.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
So I'm not surprised. I don't think that's a lie.
I was all over the place yesterday. It was not good.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
Craziest part as you found in the way. And then
I usually works.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Kicked out hit.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
That's not that that didn't That didn't happen at all.
All right, So two things. First of all, did you
did you see the story about Justin Bieber?

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Oh, so.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Shannon a dude dressed, So I guess there was. There's
a hot club in Vegas. Okay, all right, so you
got to think about that. You've been to a club
in Vegas, Drew and I went one with you. Yeah
you we went that one time, right, and it's like
it's too cool for us. No, Frogs is not a club.
That's a disgusting bar. I'm talking about like I'm talking

(03:39):
like a boom. I used to go to tow Yeah, places
like that. I hate those kind of places. But we
went like one time and Drew, I don't shan, I
don't remember you being.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
There, but either I think that was okay.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
So well, so anyway you get, it's like everybody's hot,
everybody's doing the thing.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Well, Justin Bieber.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Show well a guy who looks like Justin Bieber, Okay,
not a lot like him, but kind of like shaved head, tattoos, sunglasses,
dressed like Justin Bieber.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
He shows up at the club. Now nobody knows yet what.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
I don't think I've seen whether he was trying to
do this or he just showed up and everybody thought
he was Justin Bieber. So they led him in to
the club like via the VIP.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Entrance and everybody's like, Justin, thanks for being here, and
he was like, at least people think I'm Justin Bieber.
They put him on stage and let him perform. No way.
He was like, I'd like to perform, and then they did,
and he performed Shannon a couple of songs before people
were like, it doesn't sound like Justin.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
Maybe he's having an off night, you know.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Yeah, they gave me, well, you know, j Justin Bieber's
been having health problem and go through some so they
I think they were like, well, he'll find his rhythm.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
He apparently did multiple songs before somebody was like, yeah,
I don't think this is Justin Bieber because they he
had asked for them to play his vocal track.

Speaker 7 (05:18):
With it Smart.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
And because he had said, like, you know, I've been
struggling with my voice. So they did, and it took
him a few songs to realize Shannon, it was not
Justin Bieber and this was like some huge club in Vegas.
They're now embarrassed about it.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
This guy's like, yeah, I performed as Justin Bieber for
a few songs and nobody questioned it.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that he wasn't
trying to do this. They just assumed that was him
and he just played along. And if that if I
were in that situation, I would probably just play along too.
I mean, when are you ever gonna get the chance
to get up on stage and perform in Vegas?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
But it's kind of amazing he got to that point.

Speaker 7 (05:58):
Yeah, once he's up there though, having been in that
club or in clubs even that one specifically, you could
probably do that with about any artists. Nobody is paying No,
there's usually some things going on. People are paying that
much of attention. Makes me wonder if I've even seen
people that weren't they who they are? Like, did you
say you were usher at one of the clubs? No,

(06:19):
I've said for years, my last ten Jimmy Buffett concerts,
they could have put anybody up there singing those songs.
Nobody cared. So you know, I'm not that surprised he
got away with it once he got past the security
and got on stage.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
It has to be you know, my whole thing about
if you want to sneak into something, act.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Like you're supposed to be there, right. Yeah, that takes
it to a whole new level.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Though, Perform what a Boss movie, not just to get
into the place. Yeah, perform, Shannon, get up there on
stage and say I can do his songs.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I wonder what, I mean, what was it that tipped
them off that it was not him?

Speaker 4 (06:53):
He was just as they said, he sounded terrible.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yeah, and then to kick the guy out that I
think they.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Sort of stopped the music said thank you justin for
being here, and then and then kind of got him.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Got quite a boss move. He had to think of himself.
I'm gonna try to get in. Once he gets in,
I'm gonna try to get a VIP area. And then
he gets that.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
You're ahead.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
You know, I think it's.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
That's probably I said, Dustin Bieber, you mishurting me.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
It's your fault for thinking it. H Mark Pope said
Trent Noah has been the veteran leader of the team
and that he is gone from a freshman who couldn't
do anything when he first arrived at Kentucky to now
he thinks he's the veteran presence this team will need
as a true sophomore on a team full of guys,

(07:41):
one of whom played and won a national championship.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Is that surprised you?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I praise coming for the guy. You know, we all
thought he was going to be maybe forgotten into this rotation.
Of all these players. I think that's we're all saving mistaken.
I think the dude has earned his right. It's gonna
get a lot of minutes. Earned his right last year
on the court, earned it even more this summer.

Speaker 7 (07:58):
I can believe that Noah's doing all the right things,
but when you look at that roster, it is surprising
that he'd be the one to get named as a
leader when you have oh Way coming back. Who's going
to be in all American conversations you mentioned you got
a guy who just won a national championship. There's a
lot of options that could have stepped up and been
the guy. But to hear a sophomore Trent Noah is leading,
that's that's great. He's gonna still some minutes.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Mark Pope knows.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
If you're gonna be the veteran leader, you're gonna play
like nobody listens to the guy that sits on the bench.
So I guess that means when you're making your rotations, Ryan,
you gotta put Trent Noah in them.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I think, and even you know the TBT guys, they
told us the one guy they was mentioned the most
that we're impressed with was Trent Noah I guess he
kind of dominated one game against the TBT guys, So
I think Trent has earned that right if he's doing
it on the court, gonna.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
Play, somebody has to not play.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Like you keep hearing oh way low awesome, right, and
then you hear uh Colin Chandlers, you're not gonna able
to keep him up court. That I think Mark Pope
said Jasper Johnson had a chance to be the spark
club that puts up huge points in short minutes. Okay,
now you get to Trent Noah, somebody's not gonna be

(09:11):
able to play.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Who's it gonna be?

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Like somebody of that group of Aberdeen Noah Diabate and
Cam Williams is not playing. There's just in con Colin
Channel somebody that group's not playing. You still have enough space.
So who is it?

Speaker 7 (09:28):
I really don't know. I mean, Pope's gonna be We'll
use everybody can. Pope's someone that will use this whole roster.
But he's still like maybe Malachai Moreno disappears.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
But I'm even assuming him because he was a twelfth man.

Speaker 7 (09:44):
But he would start on several teams. That just shows
their depth.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
If he plays, then someone else is not gonna play.
I'm even right now putting Malachi Moreno in the I
don't think he plays once Quainton's comes back. He might
play at the end of the year, but I don't
think he'd so. But one of those guys is that
the two three four position has to not play. They
have too many people. Who is And if you had.

Speaker 7 (10:08):
To march in March, I would have said Trent Noah,
But then we keep we keep hearing these comments, so
it's confusing, and you're hearing he's knocking down every three
pointer and he gets in practice.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
I'm gonna say Cam Williams, which I can't believe I'm
gonna say. But I think if if Noah's playing, then
who's it gonna be? You know Aberdeen's playing, It has
to be Cam Williams, right.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think the abode is gonna have to be gotta
be on the court because he's like the other leader
they we keep hearing about.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
Came Williams is probably the guy because positionally he's he's
more of a wing guard where they're the heaviest you
can play.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Noah was gonna be the one out with Cam Williams playing,
But maybe it's flipped because Cam Newillions Williams is also
the one guy you don't hear people talk about a lot.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Did they go maybe go small at the four and
maybe Trent gets minutes there?

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yeah? Maybe, But I I think you're just early in
the year. Everybody will play. But I'll be when we
get to sec play and they narrow that rotation. I
kind of wonder if he'll be the guy that's not
in Free Bird, Go ahead, Free Bird.

Speaker 9 (11:13):
Hey gentlemen, Hey Ryan, Happy belated birthday to a fellow Leo.
Mine was the last Wednesday, And thank you buddy. Uh,
what's the craziest thing that's happened to you all on
a golf course? Like you know, when I'm hitting the
house breaking a winda uh years ago, I asked that
he ran over a dunk by the pond.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
That's bad. I almost got in a fight with a
doctor from Louisville once.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah, remember that.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Appreciate the call like a like. I came very close
to blows with a not just a random louivill fan,
but a doctor, like a licensed doctor who would not
stop yelling at me. And I was like, sir, you
are a doctor. Do you recognize that this is not
behavior that the medical Board would be appreciating. So that

(12:02):
I think is uh, that's probably up there for me.
You know, I had a hold in the woman. I
was like, ten, Well, what course was that on Mason
Heatley par three? And yes that counts. No, the course
doesn't exist and it was a par three course, but
it still counts.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I had a lighted par three course on Mason.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
It's like one hundred and thirty yards. I hit a
three wood.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Did it go in?

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Of course it would not have been. It didn't go
I got one when I was fifteen at the Middlesborough
Country Club and then I haven't had one since. Yeah,
two before the age of fifteen. You would have you
would have thought I was tiger. And then there's the
much disputed round at Bethpage Black.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
This is controversial.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Good footage that day, Eugene.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
What's up?

Speaker 10 (12:51):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (12:51):
You's what's going on with y'all?

Speaker 10 (12:53):
To day?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
I get to talk to you, Good to talk to you, stranger.

Speaker 11 (12:56):
Planing to run another night out to dinner with my family.
It's always goodness him out and around and he's taking
his boys to dinner. I think, so it's always good
to say.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Ryan, well, it's nice I get to hang out Eugene
for a little bit. You saw Eugenie in the wild.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 11 (13:13):
I wanted to ask you, boy, was what what do
you think about this fella's coming over from Croatia? I'd
say his name, but I'm sure I can't.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I see I think so. Yeah, I mean, he's twenty one.
It's good. Nice to hear from Eugene. I appreciate the call.
He's twenty one.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
And that's the thing I think people do skip over
with him is he's older, you know, And I think
that makes it.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
I mean Z was young, right, wasn't Z eighteen nineteen?

Speaker 7 (13:40):
He was a little younger.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
This is a twenty one year old, so he's a
little bit more of a grown man. I don't think
he comes over here unless he thinks he's gonna play.
Z was young, he knew he had some time, I think,
But what do we expect? Who knows?

Speaker 5 (13:56):
I mean, like played on the same European team that
Joki played on, you know, but there's probably dudes that
have stunk that have played on that team too, So
who knows.

Speaker 7 (14:07):
Yeah, I mean we've we saw that team in the Bahamas,
years ago, had fun the casino with them, so we
know some guys from that club can maybe not be
as focused on.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Basketball as we need to be.

Speaker 7 (14:17):
It's the same They gave Indiana a good exhibition game
here recently, just last week, so they've done a lot
of good things. As far as how he'll translate.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
He could be the one that ends up not playing.
He's the one.

Speaker 7 (14:27):
Like I said this yesterday, I have no clue. If
he was starting in the NCAA tournament wouldn't surprise me,
Or if he was last on the bench, couldn't get
out street clothes, would surprise.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
What do you think, by the way, about the anonymous
quote from the SEC saying Kentucky's playing paying two to
three or four times more than any other school in
the conference, they better win it. See that quote.

Speaker 7 (14:49):
Yeah, I think there's a little bit of messaging going around.
That's part of coaches making excuses for Kentucky having a
good roster, and then Pope kind of embracing it, wanting
to flaunt that they have the big roster. Somebody like
the Norlanders story. Some of these seem like outrageous numbers,
but that's what.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
You're saying.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
It a lot of these SEC schools are upset that
Kentucky and Florida had money and the football programs got
the money at their school.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
And they wanted to be known so that the greater recurved.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
I asked Matt Norlanders specifically, tell me the schools that
will be hurt the most by the rev share tech thing.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
And he goes, Auburn and Alabama.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
There's all their money, I go to football.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
That was the first two he said, was Auburn and Alabama.
I think that's interesting, and I wonder if one of
those quotes might be from Auburn or Alabama. If I'm
nine to two, eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we'll
take a break right back to cancer.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Welcome back, take you sports radio. E. If I'm nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we have some
breaking news. Shitning running non John Wall has officially retired
from playing basketball after eleven NBA seasons and in another
couple of years of being hurt and trying to trying

(16:02):
to get back, he is retiring from the NBA. You
could be forgiven if you thought he was actually hasn't
played in a couple of years, But I think he
has wanted to come back. I'm gonna go ahead and
say I've said this many times. No bigger star has
played at Kentucky in my lifetime than John Wall, one
of my Also, I really like him as a person,

(16:25):
And in my opinion, when you're talking about the turnaround
of Kentucky basketball that occurred after Billy Gillespie, the person
who deserves the most credit is John cal Perry. But
the person that deserves the second most credit ryan is
John Wall.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
He made Kentucky basketball cool again, just in an instant.
Once again, we were there with a team everybody envious of.
I think, really in my lifetime two rock stars Rex
and John Wall. Those two guys are there's a big
gap between the next guy.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Yeah, they're the He's the guy. And I say this
like I'll talk to people who are like in college
or whatever for now and they'll talk to me about
this or that player, and I'll say, unless you lived
through the John Wall experience in Lexington, Like as much
as people loved Oscar or as much as people love

(17:14):
pick your guy, there was just a different thing around
John Wall. There's just a different there was just a
different like mystique kind of around him. That I don't
think was replaced even by the many great players that
came along after. He just had a different thing.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
Yeah, he's a rock star, like we probably won't see
it again. And short of winning the title, I mean
he pretty much lived up to it here. He was
awesome in his one season really before injuries got him
in the NBA, he was a rock star there too.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I mean they still use like I still use UK.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
See UK students as they are moving on campus this year,
they come up on my TikTok feed Shannon and and
they're playing that little thing.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Six four from Kentucky.

Speaker 12 (18:04):
Shit.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Well, like they're still doing that moving into the UK
dorm and those kids were like three when that happened.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah, just I had no memory of John Wall obviously.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
The other thing is it was pre social media, huh.
So that's why there was still a mystique around, Like
he wasn't doing TikTok videos, right, he wasn't.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
He wasn't accessible. There were not nil signings, there were
not meet and greets. He there was a mistaque.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
You didn't seem around town, right, Yeah, he was just
this John Wall and like that that won't happen again.
You can't have that.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Mistique around people anymore. Like the only person I can
think of in culture today that has that mystique is
like Taylor Swift. She has that mistake because she doesn't
do a lot of interviews. She doesn't like there's a
little mistaque around her.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
John Wall is like the only person I can think
of in the I don't know that you'll have that
again at Kentucky, do you no?

Speaker 7 (19:08):
I mean, if you were lucky enough to see him
at you know, Taly horror waffle house late one night
or they're show up your frat party. Was almost like
seeing Bigfoot and you know you're texting everybody you possibly know,
even if you just walk past Wall and Cousins on
the street.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Yeah, he didn't even go out either. That's another thing,
Like you could see DeMarcus because DeMarcus was enjoying his
year a little bit, although not as much as people think.
Some of those other guys on the team were out
all but you never saw John Wall really.

Speaker 7 (19:34):
It was like so even now, his highlight real Like
there's a few football players they're like famous YouTube highlights,
like Tavon Austin. There's a couple Wall's high school highlight
has kind of become this thing in law.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Also, the people didn't somebody just talking you the guy
that did it. Yeah, it's like its own thing. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
And then if you can find there are a lot
of people. If you go to YouTube again, if you're
younger and you're like, go watch that, there's a video
somebody has put up of the highlights of him in
the UK North Carolina game. Yeah, everybody has seen that
crossover dunk, but I thought forgot all the other stuff
he did. That one steel where he comes around and

(20:14):
he shoots a layup behind his head and gets fouled
off the bat.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
That's one of the greatest plays I've ever seen.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
And he gets down the court in like half a second,
the fastest guy I've ever seen it from one in
the court.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
And then of course there's the dance. Yep, like the
dance started at all.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Now everybody does dances all the time, but like that
was as stupid channing as this little thing is.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Yeah, right, it took off, though, it totally took off.
And yeah, there just won't be another John Wall So
I hope whatever he does next it goes great. David,
go ahead, David.

Speaker 10 (20:51):
Yes, Yes, Matt and Ryan. I've got a question for
each of you from two weeks ago Friday. Yes there, yes, okay, right,
you mentioned the cemetery in the Hamburg location. Yes, would
that be the one between Sir Barton Way and the
Walmart Lows?

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yes, yes, it is.

Speaker 10 (21:14):
That is a horse cemetery.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
For what it's worth, it's a horse cemetery.

Speaker 10 (21:21):
Yes, one of the nicest ones in the nation. I
would say it was moved from the hillside on Winchester
Road for the road that came up to Low's and Starbucks.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
And then what's your second question?

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Matt, I am so excited about your fellowship and your
non fellowship and your non fellowship trip to South Africa.
And the big question for me is are you going
to pack your cowboy hat?

Speaker 5 (21:53):
No, it's too hard to fire across the world. With that,
I appreciate the call. So I am like, I'm starting
official prem for South bast it's coming up. I've been
reading books. There's a book called The Elephant Whisper. It's
a little too long. It's a little too long, but
it's good.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
It's interesting.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
It's about this guy who run who like ran a
nature preserve and he started like talking to elephants, and
I've learned all about elephants.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
You know, elephants are very smart.

Speaker 5 (22:23):
You know, elephants are like the only animals they're like
if one of their animals, their herd, dies, they'll remember
the spot and they'll come and mourn at the spot.
They like understand like they speak to each other through
like what like sound waves via their movements across the

(22:43):
like it's a fascinating thing. And I'm getting ready. And
what I'm learning having read this is like being out
in the bush. As they say for the Safaris, that's
gonna be like they say, you know, these animals, they
is come up to you, like, look, there's a line leopard.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
What do you know?

Speaker 2 (23:02):
What do you plan to do?

Speaker 4 (23:03):
And one we'll say hi and just hope that I'm
just gonna have to assume.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
That these people get your pocket knife out.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
I'm assuming that they're safe, because the one thing I
learned in the Elephant Book is if these elephants want
to kill you, you're dead. Like there's nothing you can
do about it. So you just got to hope you hide,
bind those non women, you just ladies, You go fires
build a wall. So but I'm looking forward to it.
Although I'm a little nervous. I won't won't act like

(23:30):
I'm not. We'll be right back. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney,
called TJ.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
He'll make them pay.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
No more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Here's Matt Jones and the whole.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
State doing this. Yes, for years. I mean we weren't
the only people. This was a big song, but you know,
I mean they were like other athletes in other sports
doing it.

Speaker 7 (23:54):
And then John Wall spawned his own songs. There were
multiple John Wall songs, but I still listen to today.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Really, Yeah, the do the John Wall was that one
of them. That's the best one.

Speaker 7 (24:07):
There was some lower budget versions out there that Bernie's good,
but that's the one that's starting.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
I don't know what is an ice cream paint job
or do I want to know? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (24:17):
You know what, maybe experence stream on the inside and
clean on the outside.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah, if I'm nine eight twenty two car, what it's
your car? Okay? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (24:28):
No double meaning there.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
Uh, it's like a way that you can get a
car painted like it's exactly what they're talking about. Okay,
good to know.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
One person writes Matt, You're gonna love South Africa. Although
my wife is very concerned about your safety. I get
asked that all the time, about the whole safety. Yeah,
like I get I probably probably once a day somebody
comes up to me and says like, I mean, they
say it shange like I've never heard the news.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Like I'm breaking it to you for the first time.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
You know, reciate the concern, but like that. Again, it's
the same thing when I talk about New York.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
Like a lot of people, I understand people are like
nervous about what they don't know, but I'm sure it's
like other places. You just have to be weary of
where you are right and just make good decisions. I mean,
I've read about all I can read about these places,

(25:26):
and Cape Town I think is the vast majority of
it fine. Johannesburg, I know, has some more serious issues,
but again, if you stay in the right places, you're
probably fine.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
You are fine. And then you know, the safari thing
is like there's a lot of people that have done it.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
So I think you know, UK Punter or Aiden la
Ross gave you some really good advice and I think
you know, trusting you about just going out with somebody.
Don't go by yourself, don't go out at night. Just
be with somebody all the time and you'll be fine.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
My Safari group just had another woman join. It is
now ten women and me.

Speaker 7 (26:05):
There's more people on the front line when you fight
the elephant.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Yeah. I've looked at the other group, Shannon. They all
include multiple men except this one.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
I mean, I don't think that's a bad thing. I
think you use that to your advantage.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Well, it's not. It's not about that. This is about
the nature.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Oh yeah, he steps up.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I am a little concerned about the being mainly part
because they're gonna expect me to do things.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yes, they are, like I'm.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Gonna have to carry people's luggage, you know, like I must.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
I already know I might have to help people Like well,
I mean, it's just like this is the this is
the growing up in the South. Like I'm not you know,
anything that's gonna need to be done. They're gonna be
looking at me, whereas like in Kentucky, I just look
at Hubby and I'm like, this is a hubby thing
to do.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
They might be independent women who can do it theirself.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
I'm sure they are independent. I'm not saying they all
need me, but I'm still gonna feel like I gotta
like there's a puddle, I gotta like throw my Yeah,
I mean I feel like, you know, I'm that those
are gonna be the kind of things that that would do,
that would be very sweet. That's probably over the top
and unnecessary. Did you buy the pocket knife at the
fair on Friday?

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yeah, so, Shannon, I was gonna I was gonna buy
a heavy of pocket knife. And then you know, there's
a lot of people that said men should pick their
own pocket knives. I didn't realize it was that you
could have gotten your own though. That's what I'm asking.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Did you mean the case, like I any gift someone
gives me, I'm gonna accept. I'm not gonna be like
I guess if somebody came up to me and gave
me like boxer briefs, I would think that's weird. But like,
I don't feel like a knife, it's so personal. You
can't buy another person a pocket knife.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Is that they just want to be able to pick
the style to look.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
I want to buy a pocket knife place and seventy
five percent of them said Trump. So I wasn't gonna
buy those, and then a lot of them were like camouflage,
and I just went, well, well.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
That's what you need.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
That wakens new get past security. Next time it's camouflage,
you just walk right on.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah, didn't it didn't work. The didn't work the last time.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
Are you more worried about the wildlife in south as
the dangerous.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Parts of the cities. I'm not worried about any of it.

Speaker 7 (28:13):
So you're not worried about like getting trampled by nothing.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
I'm not the I'm not worried about I don't get
worried about that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
You know.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
My view is your time is your time when it comes,
like if you make good decisions, you know you can't.
It's like I always say about people in your house.
If somebody wants to get you, they'll get you. It's
they want to get in, they're going to get in. Yes,

(28:43):
So a lot of times I think a lot of
security stuff is for you, not them.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Yeah, you know what I mean. It makes you feel good,
right you go to these places. I mean there are
millions of people that go to these countries every.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Year, right, Like the it's got to be smart about it.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
There's no reason to be scared. You can be scared
and safe and never experience life. Right. So, if I'm
blessed enough to be able to do a trip like this,
how can you not do it?

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Gota enjoy every second of it?

Speaker 4 (29:15):
How can you?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I mean, how can you not give it a lifetime?

Speaker 13 (29:18):
Man? I got it?

Speaker 5 (29:18):
I mean just think about just from like a blessing standpoint.
I got a phone call three and a half years
ago from a woman I did not know who had
read an article on the internet about me and said,
we would like you to be part of this group
to where you get to travel the world for free. Right,

(29:39):
the first part of my trip is free. I have
to pay for the second part for free, be.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
With twenty five of the most interesting people in the country,
and at the end of it, become part of this
group where you have networks with everyone in the world.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
You can't turn it down.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
And why because you do a sports radio show in Kentucky.
Like that's crazy, So to turn that down would be insane.
Remember we were supposed to go to Israel. Now, Shannon,
I might have been scared about that.

Speaker 6 (30:11):
Yeah, yeah, there's certain this was supposed.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
To be an Israel trip and then they switched it
to South as right, A good switch today probably the
another time.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
Yeah, so if I'm nine eight twenty two eighty seven,
the Kentucky high school football season starts Friday, Yes it does.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
What do I need to know?

Speaker 13 (30:29):
Right?

Speaker 2 (30:31):
The teams are always good? Are going to continue to
be good?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Are there any like surprise teams?

Speaker 13 (30:37):
Like?

Speaker 5 (30:37):
You know, sometimes there'll be a team hasn't been good
and I like to root for him. There's got to
be a couple of those out there.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Who are they?

Speaker 2 (30:44):
I'm not aware yet when they got to get into
the weeds yet with it, I'm going to ultimate no research, none. Okay,
My opening night is a Woodford County High school football
I'm doing the MC for their bowl game.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Okay, who do they play?

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Team from Ohio?

Speaker 4 (30:59):
So you're the What does that mean that the PA
guy not the MC, the PA guy? Oh, why why
are you doing that?

Speaker 2 (31:05):
I think their main guys out of town. They pulled
me out of the bullpen.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
So you in week one?

Speaker 5 (31:10):
This sounds like a new job, Shannon, he is the
reserve yep, Woodford County, PA.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
How's the normal guy? Not ready for the first game
of the year.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
True the ball game. I don't have to go to
all the Douglas games now Josiah's not playing.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
That's what I's gonna ask you. Are you gonna you've
been going to high school football for fifteen or twenty
years to see the same schools because of your kids?

Speaker 12 (31:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Are you done with that?

Speaker 2 (31:34):
I'm just gonna try to maybe go to other games,
Like I've never been to the Trinity Saint X game.
I think I'd like to go to that game one time.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Are you going to be like Ryan Lemon travels the state?

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Maybe I think there might be a sponsorship.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
So can I ask you a question?

Speaker 5 (31:45):
If people ask you to fill in as their PA guys, yeah,
around the state.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
I can do it. I'd love it. See folks. He
will say, yes, yeah, Woni, yeah, put price on that right?

Speaker 2 (31:59):
No, No, don't Prie hot dog and a coach.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
Just ask them to pay your transportation costs and you'll, uh,
you'll be good. Let's go to Madison. Go ahead, Madison,
have it done, Matt good? How you doing?

Speaker 12 (32:11):
Uh fine, I'm doing well. I gotta I gotta go. Friend,
So I'm wait a.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
Minute, breaking news, Wait a minute, tell me about this relationship.

Speaker 14 (32:27):
Well, uh, it started.

Speaker 12 (32:30):
Uh she's from Union County, which is just around.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
They're fast, they're beautiful in Union County.

Speaker 13 (32:41):
I should have known better than that, you know.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Okay, So how's it going?

Speaker 14 (32:49):
Oh that's going good?

Speaker 12 (32:50):
Well uh we uh we've been uh we've been together
for almost a year, not quite a year, but it will.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
But you out like going public here now it's like
a it's like a.

Speaker 12 (33:02):
Hard yeah, launching from outer space.

Speaker 14 (33:07):
So space.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
So what what's what's the what kind of dates do

Speaker 14 (33:14):

Speaker 12 (33:15):
Want some want some pick different eat.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
So what's the last one you went to.

Speaker 12 (33:23):
The last one I went to?

Speaker 10 (33:26):
Uh?

Speaker 12 (33:26):
Well I went to mister Bes one time.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
How did you meet?

Speaker 13 (33:34):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (33:34):
They had a.

Speaker 12 (33:36):
A dance here and Aaron Henderson and we met and
became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Speaker 10 (33:41):
That was it.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
Oh so you had to dance? That's good.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Well I'm glad you know Madison and we'll just call
her woman. Uh sitting in a tree, K, I, S, S,
I and G.

Speaker 12 (33:57):
You don't have to go that far A good time.
I got a I got two things for you. One is, uh,
what did you what do you make of the when
do you think will get confirmation a big blue man.
That's I'm not heard.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
I don't know, but it's always the same time, so
it's probably I'm looking at it. It's either Friday October
tenth or Friday October seventeenth. I don't know which one
it is. I would say because of the exhibition game,
I'm gonna say the tenth. That's just gonna be my guess.
But I think that's probably right.

Speaker 12 (34:32):
And then two, what do you make of the spread
going up and down? It seemed like.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Appreciate it, appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
It dropped to seven and a half Kentucky covers that
come on, man, they've got to it's a home home opener.
You're an SEC school should be bigger, better, stronger.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
Lexi and Sporting Club is hosting Kentucky Vintage Fast at
Lexi to SC Stadium prior to the game Saturday.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
They play the Oakland Roots.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
Found in central Kentucky, the Kentucky Vintage Fest Festival is
a curated community market with nostalgia, sustainability, and unique fines.
Twelve dollars get you in the Vintage Fest at three pm,
eight dollars at four pm. Kickoff is at Oakland is

Speaker 4 (35:37):
There you go. It's kind of cool. They're doing like
a little antique vintage the fest and then the game
against the Oakland Roots.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Crowds are picking up out there too. People more and
more people are trying to, you know, find a way
to get out there.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
Yeah, we're winning. That's right, we win.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
We'll take a break. Be right back, Kiso. My name's Madison.
He needs two girlfriends.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
That's the biggest breaking news of the day.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
I know, that's the one I'm most excited about. I'd
like to know what's happening at that dance too. I
like they made it a dance like old schools. Nice,
that's exactly.

Speaker 7 (36:05):
They're all on separate sides.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
And he's stocked over Hope. So draft Kings. Go to DraftKings.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
Bat five dollars went two hundred dollars from my friends
at Draft Kings. So you got Red's Angels, Rad's Last Night,
Get the Wind, the save, was my man, scuzz Bucket.
Scuzz Bucket came in with two outs in the eighth
with two guys on struck them out. Ninth inning, three strikeouts.

(36:33):
He scuzz Bucket. I it was late at night. It
was like twelve thirty at night, and I'm watching it.
I want you to look online while I'm doing the
rest of this.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Read Ryan. When he gets his last strikeout, he does
a little dance.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Oh, he does a dance.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Oh, he's got a dance. He's got a little scuzz
Bucket dance. It kind of looks like he's sitting down
to use the toilet. Oh, I have to watch this.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
Look up Scott Barlow and look up the dance. And
by the way, some of y'all are starting to call
him scus online.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
This is going to enter. I don't it's gonna be
funny if he ends up that ends up being his nickname.
But I love the guy. In fact he lives in
a camper van makes me love him more. His wife.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
Here's another little fact about him. His wife was Miss
Texarkana and Miss Team Texarkana. Wow, the sweep he gets scuzzy,
He gets more scuzz Bucket by the day.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
His hair does seem to grow longer. I can't find
it yet.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Just look, look, look, go to the Reds account. You'll see, Okay,
feeling good about this road trip that was but they
won the first game. That's good. Need two out of
three against the Angel, So just win one of the
next two.

Speaker 7 (37:36):
It's another series you're not gonna get swept.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Street continues, But uh, he's out there, he's and then
I love Key Brian. He's not just Brian, he's Key Brian.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
He's become your favorite player.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
You ta, he's the best defensive Hey, Shannon, I know
you appreciate this day. Is he the best defensive player ever?
You see the one last night they hit it and
it went off the pitcher's foot and then he caught
it and still threw him out.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Yeah, he's very good. I didn't see that one last night.
But he is, without a out, one of the best.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
And he's not Brian, he's Key, He's Key Bright. Go
to DraftKings. The crown is yours? Uh promo cor remember
bet responsibly?

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Do you like that the dude's hair is almost down
to his belly button.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
He's so good and he's got a little dumpe dance.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Yeah, he needs to work on that a little bit.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
I like it, Mike, go ahead, Mike, hey man, what's
going on?

Speaker 14 (38:26):
Hey, my son got his master's at the University of
Cape Town. So if you'd like a drug addled perspective
of Cake Town.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
So you acknowledge your son had a drug addle perspective.

Speaker 14 (38:41):
Well, it's probably more birds.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
But okay, did he have fun? I hear that. If
you're that age, it's like the most fun place on earth.

Speaker 14 (38:51):
He loved it. He spent two years there, he got
his masters, and then he went back and got his
master pilots. Fine for you up driving. So yeah, he
loved it over there.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
Well I love it. Okay, Well, I mean like, but
he's still here. He survived, right.

Speaker 14 (39:12):
No, Now he lives in Colombia.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Okay. When you said no, I thought he had survived.
You mean he just doesn't live here. Okay, I got you.

Speaker 14 (39:23):
Yeah, it's all good. So if you needed any information,
you're welcome to.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
All right.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
I appreciate it having it, Thank you very much. From
now in Colombia. My man, he likes going off the
beaten path, right, I'd like to watch a movie about that. Yeah,
it seems interesting. One person writes on the text machine. Matt,
you don't have to protect the group from lines. You
just have to be able to outrun one.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
Of the ten women.

Speaker 6 (39:47):
You think, Yeah, just don't be the slowest one in
the group and you'll be just fine.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
That would be sad, though, if I was the slowest
one in the group of the of the ten women, Andrew,
go ahead, Andrew, Hey.

Speaker 13 (39:59):
Real quick, guys, I appreciate you for taking the call.
Just want to say, yesterday at about nine thirty, I'm
listening to the pre show and then at one o'clock
I'm at glen Oaks playing golf with Drew and Billy
are sports So just wanted to call in and personally
give my thanks for their experience. This is why you
do it, guys.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
All rich you think about that so people know, like
Drew had somebody cancel from his group. Billy mentioned on
the pre show we had someone cancel, and then you
showed up and got to play with Billy and Drew.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
That had to be a lot of fun.

Speaker 13 (40:32):
It was awesome. I just kind of texted the pre
show as a joke that I'm twenty minutes out and
next thing I know, I was there. So thanks again, guys,
and I really appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
That's awesome. Thank you for playing. That's very cool. See,
you never know what's going to happen on golf. Scrambled
Day had a great time with him too.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Drew just told that story during the commercial break and
then the guy calls in. It's crazy.

Speaker 7 (40:55):
I recognize his voice right away. He's good, very helpful, fun,
good at golf. But the best part is in scrambling.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
We just kind of got to fit in.

Speaker 7 (41:01):
It's not just about the golf and hang it out
for six hours and uh, we had a good time.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Fit right in with us. That's exactly right. You do
kind of have to.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
If he had been weird, that would have that would
have sucked. I'll be honest. I said, Billy, why did
you do this? We're just stuck with his random all day.
But that wasn't the case. We had a lot of
fun from the moment we met.

Speaker 13 (41:17):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
I'm glad. I'm glad you got to do that. I
keep thinking about that pitch when scuz Buck because you know,
I'm in bed.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Yeah, his dance needs a little work.

Speaker 13 (41:28):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
It's Scotty Barrance.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
It's just a jump like a kind of just jumps.

Speaker 5 (41:32):
But that's what he does every time. Oh yeah, that's it.
He's key Bright, Bland, Go ahead, Bland.

Speaker 9 (41:40):
It's one to call in and tell about my daughter's
with Kentucky Joe at the State Fair other day. She's
the UH communications director for the Beef Cattle Association, does
cooking demonstrations. UH likes in little TV And anyway, Kentucky
Joe came up to her and recognized her from that,
and he he's sung her a song, the Gifts of

(42:04):
which is I love Kentucky Bees. When I see you,
it makes me hungry.

Speaker 10 (42:10):
Anyway.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (42:12):
That's what you say, By the way, that's what you
say to a woman to really win her over. When
I see you, it makes me hungry. That's right. Well,
I appreciate it, and tell your daughter sorry about that.
You know, he was singing to everybody out there at
