Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Now here's Matt.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Jones Watermack and he is now number two Kentucky Sports Radio.
If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven,
text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five
two five four we are It's an ask anything Wednesday.
Go ahead and get in with us. We'll go back
to the phone here in just a second. Couple little
tidbits I thought people would like. First of all, I
(00:27):
propos of nothing, right, Shannon, Nobody was talking the other
day about who had the best rated show or anything
like that. That was not something any radio host and
you were feuding about. Am I correct?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
That's correct? Yeah, yeah, not mean that was that was
somebody that would not have been you.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
No, no.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
But just coincidentally, the uh, the ratings came out last
week for Lexington and Louisville. I just want to give
you a notion of when we talk about you know,
sometimes you'll hear me say this is like the highest
rate in radio show, not just in Kentucky but in
the country in sports. I just want to give you
(01:07):
a sense of what that means. All right, in Lexington,
they do it year over year. We were down twelve percent.
But remember that's from the John Calipery leaves Mark Pope
comes a couple of months, pretty big couple months, highest
(01:27):
rated couple months we ever had. This was still our
second highest rated period in history behind that one. Okay,
in Lexington Men eighteen to forty nine we had a thirty. Now,
let me give you a little perspective as to what
a thirty means. In most places you are considered like
(01:50):
as a sports host, you are knocking it out of
the park if you get like an eight, and we
had a thirty. We had a six sixteen in people,
not just men, people that includes women who listened to
radio even more than men. We were first in every demographic,
(02:12):
literally every single demographic in Louisville twelve and the number
one show in Louisville, including beating all the Louisville shows.
I just say that to say thank you to the listeners.
When we first started. I remember the first Louisville Writings book,
we got like a four and a half and people.
(02:35):
I remember Lockwin McClean famously came in. He didn't think
I heard him, and he looked at Drew Diner and said, well,
they'll never get that again. What a fluke that was
twelve years ago, and now that four and a half
is a thirty, so we appreciate.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, a four five, that's sort of typical.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
You could have a five and a half at certain
day parts and be the number one station in your market. Yeah,
so by comparison of thirty compared to a six or
a five is insane, and.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Eleven in Louisville, when over half the city claims to
hate us, is pretty good. So anyway, I just wanted
to give you that just as a little perspective. It
used to be I would obsess over those things, like
every time it came out, I'd be sitting there looking
at it. Now almost never look at them because we
do get bonuses based on them, so I care about
(03:33):
it from that, but we usually come in first every time.
I don't even have the look. But the numbers now
are just stupid. I mean that is just stupid. Thirty
percent of all radios in Lexington are listening to this
show at any given point. That's crazy, especially when you
consider a lot of people don't even listen to the radio.
(03:55):
So there's a podcast audience that doesn't even include the
podcast or the streaming. That's people who are playing it
over the airs. This podcast is treating it is a
different set of numbers. So sometimes when we go over
this and a reminder of how many people are on
the other end of this microphone, it makes you think,
what did I say? What I confess to You're not
nervous that you confessed how boogie you are for any
(04:17):
things for his big Bougie Club the NFL yesterday, Uh,
Billy and Mario got a little nervous, Shannon. I have
never seen me in the tense interview world. It was
(04:40):
Billy and Mario watching as I interviewed Andy Barr, which
will air, which will go up on podcast tomorrow. First
of all, thank you to Andy Barr for doing it.
He was great. He handled all the questions. He did
what people in those offices should do, which is sit down,
get hard questions. We went back and forth rupted him
a few times, which is people would say, but you
(05:02):
have to Shannon, if you don't interrupt these politicians, they'll
just talk right.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
And that's the name of the show. Interrupted by Mad Joe,
that's the name. So but it was great, But Billy.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I could see Billy on his face getting nervous because
there's a back and forth on an issue where I
go yes or no, can you say this? And he
just keeps going and I'm like yes or no. Remember,
so I say so you won't say yes or no.
And the third time I do it, Billy looks at
(05:32):
me like, oh goodness. So I really thank him a
lot for doing it. He I think if you listen,
he answers his questions. We a few times have to
just agree to disagree. But I thought it was especially
in today's world where people don't sit down with people
from the other side. I did have respect for him
(05:54):
Drew for doing it, even though a lot of his
answers frustrate me. But that's okay. He still said and
did his I knew it had a big impact on
Billy because yesterday, after you all did it, he told
me the story of wanting to get under the table.
Then this morning he told me the story again and
I had to remind him. He probably told me this,
but it weighed on him that much that he's still
bringing it up a day later. I didn't think it
(06:15):
was tense at all because I'm used to conversations like that.
But I just don't think Billy had seen me in
that setting, and it was a very closed space. It
was just bar his assistant, me, Mario, and Billy, just
and in a very small space, and I just think
Billy got very nervous. Well, I can add I was
also in the building, sitting in this studio working on
my computer, and I heard it through the wall. So
(06:36):
even though I wasn't in there, I also felt a
little part of what was going on there. It did
get louder at times, but not loudly each other, But
I mean I could I could pick up on some
tension through the wall. Okay, well, I didn't think it
was tense, but I can tell you who did. Bill.
Hebly told me again after this show, Bobby, go ahead, Bobby, Hey, guys,
(06:58):
how are y'all doing today? Good?
Speaker 4 (07:01):
I got two quick questions, if that's okay.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Go for it, all right?
Speaker 5 (07:05):
So the first question, and I hate to do this
while Ryan's not there, but can y'all go over maybe
the roles and stats of what you all think Barry
On Brown and dang Hee will do for Nebraska and LSU.
And then the second question is I'm really excited that
y'all are gonna possibly have Randall Cobb.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
On y'all's new show. And I was wondering, he's like
my childhood here. Yeah he's not. He's not gonna be regular.
I'm sure we'll have him one as a guest, but no,
he's not. He's not. Okay, what I said was they
wanted me initially when they came to me with the show.
The initial idea was, Matt, why don't you do it
with Randall Cobb and I And there's no offense to Randall,
(07:44):
but I wanted to do it with Drew, and so
I pushed for Drew and then that's how it ended
up with Drew.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
But I think as a guest some Drew is also
my childhood hero, so I can accept that. But I'm
just wondering if Randall, if you could get on or
maybe even set up.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Probably come on to promote that thing. He's on special
special Forces, special Forces whatever. So yeah, we well, we'll we'll,
we'll see if we can do that, all right, because.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
I'm also a Packers fan, so it kind of best
of both worlds there, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I appreciate to appreciate the call. Actually I want to
I want to put red you who is on this
Special Forces show? We haven't done that yet, right, We
mentioned it briefly at Shady, But did we mention everyone
that was on it as many as we could off
the top of our heads? Oh go ahead? Well no, no,
never mind. If we've done it before, then we don't
have to. We don't have We mentioned Lexingtonian, Britney cart right.
(08:39):
Oh that's right, Brianna Chicken fry Chicky. Yeah, okay. Well
is Johnny Manzel on there? Johnny Manziel is on.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
So good.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
It's a good cast if you want some just chaos
doing Special Forces. Randall should be the favorite far. He's
gonna win. As far as the what I think Baron
Brown and Dane Kee will do. I don't know that
Baron Brown will play a lot at wide receiver. He's
he's projected to be second string, but I do think
he'll be a big kick returner for him. But I
mean I looked at an LSU website. They do not
have him as a projected starter. Yeah, they're pretty loaded
(09:08):
a receiver. He'll get looks. He won't be a guy
like he was a Kentucky where you know they're pretty
much forcing the prizing. He would go I mean he
wanted the ball more here. Yeah, that he would go
to a place where he may get the ball less. No,
I agree, you know, don't know exactly what happened there,
but it was time for a fresh start on both
ends with him. I think as a kick returner he
(09:29):
will be very dynamic. We're just gonna have to accept
we're gonna get a Baron Brown touchdown high in the
LSU uniform. What about dang Key the quarterback there, Dylan
ree was still hasn't hit that level everyone thought he would.
I think he had a little bit of a down
last year. But if those two pan out, they could
be something special. Uh, we heard anything like he'll be
(09:52):
he's in there, he's the top two guy. When he
committed there. I mean he was assured he's going to
get the look. And we know what Ryan would say, Shannon,
Ryan would say he's gonna be all big ten.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Oh of course, yeah, but he's this guy, you know,
I understand that.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
So he's got a person I haven't really heard.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I mean I don't I don't read a lot of
Nebraska sites, so I don't really know what what what
the Nebraska situation. He's there to be to be the guy,
so he should be getting plenty of looks. They need
be able to take a big jump. Ben, go ahead, Ben.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Hey, I I text you a while ago on the
KSAR text machine about I were My family's the one
that owns the Safari company. So I just thought i'd
give you a couple of tips before you head out.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
All right, Yeah, give me a Safari tip. All right.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
Well, you fig you're worried about being a manly man,
just bring.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
A couple of dollars with you. You guys will have
plenty of chances.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
You can just be the guy that like tips five
dollars for carrying everyone's bag, or like do a couple all.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Right, so I look manly by paying money. Okay, what else? Yeah,
there you go.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
But on the same time, be careful to new like
scam that's going around there. If you say you have
a ride coming and it sends of Jones on a
piece of paper, some local will write Jones on a
piece of paper and try to get you to like
give them money and get in their cars. So it's
be careful of that you are trying to buy something.
Just lie and say you're from Canada, you'll get a
better price on something than if you say you're from America.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Ah, and I've actually heard that before. Like, I think
Americans have all the money, so Shannon, I should be
Maybe I could be from sweet Canada. I think I
want to be sweet for the NFL like Drew, I
have more money. No, no, yeah, I try to think
what would be blacking?
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Get an actual serious point?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Oh sorry, go ahead, no, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Uh a serious point that number that I text you
on it's like life happened. So if someone you know
gets sick and you guys have like it's kind of
a sketchy place in the world's things bad. So we
do on a lot of stuff around there. So if
you need some pull with something, then feel free.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
To do me a favor. Send that again, like right
off after you get the phone so I can save it. Okay, okay,
all right, appreciate it, Thank you very much. There you go.
I also saw a thing that said, when you're in
your little Safari vehicle, don't make don't jump up and
down or make big movements because that's what you were
going to be doing.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Well, I could see me flinging my arms. Though when
I'm talking, you tell the story, so I'm might have
to sit on my hands as I'm telling stories so
that I don't attract a line.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, don't make eye contact with the lions.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Hey line, my man, my man.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Calm down, my main.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
A well Flay Shandon, Jacob, go ahead, Jacob, Hi.
Speaker 7 (12:36):
Good morning, and I hope you're all doing well. Matt.
I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to start
walking more. Actually, when I in my walk my longest
so far this past weekend and watched like thirty pounds
of summers from walking more, My question is.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Very kind of you. That's very kind of you to say,
and I'm glad that you're doing that. You uh, You're
going to be much healthier.
Speaker 7 (13:00):
I'd a couple of questions like what kind of like
motivated to get started on he's on walks, Like how
many miles a week on average do you walk? And
like do you like map out you're routes beforehand?
Speaker 3 (13:11):
But yeah, I appreciate it. You know, sometimes you just
look at a picture of yourself, like I'm a my
weight fluctuates in my face like pretty big, so like
I can and my weight fluctuates in general pretty big,
Like I'll go, I'm at one of my smallest weights now,
(13:32):
but before I went to Europe last year, I was
at one of my biggest and so you know, sometimes
you just look at a picture of yourself Shannon, You're like.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Oh, yeah, I need to do something about that.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I need to do something. And then when I was
in Europe, like you, you walk everywhere there, like they
don't the cars. They're not as big into cars. They're
trains and walking. So I just got used to walking.
And I think you can also learn a city better
when you're walking, Like I know you New York really
well because I walk it all the time. But then
(14:02):
like when we were in Pittsburgh, I could never really
figure out where I was in part because I wasn't
walking to figure out where it was. You get a
sense of where the city is. So yeah, And as
far as do I have a route, I definitely have
a Louisville route. Louisville is such a so much better
of a walking city than Lexington. Lexington, it's just hard
to walk here. I now have a Lexington route kind
(14:23):
of go downtown by campus. I usually now do it
at night. Got like a seven mile loop that I
can do. And then Louisville usually up and down Barnstown
Road into you know, the Cherokee Park, sometimes downtown. But yeah,
I like it. It's just good for me because I the gym.
(14:46):
Going to the gym to me feels like going to war.
It's the same thing. Like I loved Sonny who was
my trainer, and I'll still probably use her again. She
was awesome, but like every time I went, I was like, oh,
oh gosh. Whereas walking I find pleasant, especially like during
this West Coast trip for the Reds, leave my house
Shendon at ten, turn the Reds on, the Reds on
(15:10):
the radio, and then walk and listen. That's what I do.
Don't miss your chance to play with and support Kentucky
based charities with Commonwealth Causes. Queen of Heart's fifty to
fifty Raffle takes place every Thursday. That's tomorrow. Ryan places
us all the time. Five thousand dollars if you reveal
the Queen if you have the jackpot, and a thousand
if you hit a joker. The next one for the
(15:32):
Bourbon Raffles August twenty eighth with a Weller millennium. They
said that's a fifteen thousand dollars bottle to track down.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yeah, fifteen thousand dollars for a bottle on it good
mixer with doctor Pepper.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
You go to Commonwealth Causes dot org and follow apple
ky causes on social media Commonwealth causes dot org To
get in today, we'll take a break right back kysar.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
To talk to Matt Jones and the crew.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Call the Clark's Popping Shop full line or EP five
nine two eighth eighty seven or one eight hundred and
six oh six forty two sixty three and send us
the whiskey Thief tweet of the day by tweeting Matt
at k Y Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Walterback Tekee Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven. One thing that I found ridiculous
in the news Auburn has claimed four more national championships
in football. They just said, all right, now we have
nine and they picked random years and were like, if
things were fair, we would have won it.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Then well they go today basketball can claim like three
or four more.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, I mean they were like, in two thousand and
four we were on probation, but we still should have
gotten it. Because now those rules are legal, and so
they just gave themselves the title. They also gave themselves
the title in like eighteen ninety seven or something. Those
ones you gotta claim. Nobody can challenge it. Now I
feel like I'm challenging it. I don't think. First of all,
(16:53):
I don't think anything starts before there was a tournament.
Anytime it was just fattel men voting, it doesn't count.
So for me, one of the national championships are valid
until they started having at least that BCS Title Game
nineteen is good, Yeah, because we won that, we won
(17:13):
the Orange Bowl. I believe they do have one year.
I think they can't disclaim it. But they didn't get
host pretty bad from the old men voting. Didn't they
go undefeated one season and still they're like, oh, it's
too bad. You don't just get to say, so we win.
I would hear them out on that one, though. You're
gonna left them just say we get to win that one,
just that one.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
What about Central Florida? Didn't they go undefeed it one
year and they.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, they're claiming it too. It's a flawed system. You
don't just get to claim like, you don't just get
to claim we won the title. You don't. You either
won it or you didn't. I would argue nobody that
won a voted title one. But if we're going to
say that you're going to do it, you you have
to have gotten something. It can't just be yeah, looking back,
(17:58):
it feels like that was me. I can't just go
back in history and go, yeah, we played Cook and
Fleeener in the high school tennis doubles championship. Yeah, we lost,
but they.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Know we're really one, even though.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
We really won in the eyes of the lord champions
of Yeah, so me and bo Bob, where are the
where the where are the champs? Now? You don't get
to do that. I think we should try them. Which
ones are we claiming? Well, the year we beat LSU,
they went on to win the National championship football. But
(18:32):
as I see it, we beat LSU and they're the national.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Champion fifteen in basketball.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Well, Matt and I already tried to claim that one
ended up in court. Didn't we win the n i
T one year when it was better than the NCAA allegedly, Well,
the years we were on probation, we just created a tournament.
Let's claim those. Yeah, we're you know what, last year
the BBN Invitational was the national championship, and this year
the Kentucky tip Off Classic presenter Baktuk Tour is the
(19:01):
national championship titles. I can't believe they were just like
two thousand and four. Yep, that's ours. They saw Trump
calling in his golf championship. That's exactly what That's what
they did. I still win the twenty twenty election. We
still win the two thousand and four national championship. Is
that a good one? Nothing of the first time you've
done Donald on here? Bet you're welcome, Tom, go ahead, Tom, Hey, guys,
(19:27):
I just have one to ask your opinion.
Speaker 8 (19:30):
I uh, I got a chance to watch the Tigers
game last night against Astros and was really.
Speaker 9 (19:36):
Disappointed at the end of the game.
Speaker 8 (19:38):
So both pitchers went scoreless six to seven, seven innings,
they bring in the bullpen, they go scoreless for a
couple of innings, and then they started in the tenth
inning with putting the runner on second base. Tigers get
Dashtros out, Tigers get up. They put their guy on
second base. Leadoff hitter hits a sacrifice fly. The guy
(19:58):
goes the third. So the Astros walk potentially either guy
to try to.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Set up there, and they did the night they did
with the Reds. Yeah, yeah, so they did it the
other night with the Reds. Think that rule, I like it,
but I but it. But you're exactly. You just gave
the scenario where it feels a little cheap, which is
the starts on second sacrifice gets them, the third sacrifice
(20:24):
gets them home. That does feel a little bit cheap,
So I get it. I would say for me, I
think I like the runner being on because I think
the extra innings can take way too long. I might say, Shannon,
start them on first, because you actually have to do
something to get them. Now I'm told the reason they
didn't do it is they were like that gives an
(20:44):
advantage to a team that has a really fast guy
that's there on first and they can just steal second
and then they're in the same thing. But then that
gives you incentive to have fast guys, right, So I
you know, I.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Don't love the rule, but it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
And I would say for the team that's batting it
the top of the tenth, they could have done the
same thing. They could have done a sacrifice to get
the guy in So in general, I'm four six and
one half dozen. The other I appreciate the call in general.
And fourth, the Reds have been awful at it this year.
The Reds are like two to nine in those games
and rarely get their runner home. But on some level,
like that's a skill you need to learn. In the
(21:18):
same way like soccer teams teach their teams to do
penalty kicks a certain way, knowing that sometimes games will
come down to that. Probably managers need to teach their
team what they do in the tenth When the guys
on said, if I were a manager, I would bunt
to the right side and move them to third, then
hit a long fly ball, two outs, a bit of
run scores.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Now you've put the pressure. Well, what he's saying, that
happened with the Reds the other night. That guy got
to third, so then they walked Ellie, and then they
walked the guy after Ellie. But it ended up hurting
him because the next guy didn't got like a double
in the gap and they won.
Speaker 9 (21:48):
So you know the.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Crazy Reds Braves games. That was twelve eleven. That's how
the Braves won. It was both teams were hot and
then he got to the tenth and it was just
sac fla Sacks run. Yeah, it's a little it feels cheap.
I get it, but that's the way it goes. Ben,
go ahead, Ben, hey man, how's it going good? How
are you.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
Good?
Speaker 8 (22:08):
So my question is, who do you think in the
past decade or two has been the best Kentucky alumni
in the NBA in their prime?
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Well, in their prime it's probably I mean Shaye won MVP,
so I guess it has to be shame. If you're
looking at totality of career, I'd probably say Anthony Davis.
But if you're looking in their prime, who hit the
best peak drough it's probably Shay right, he just had
one of the best seasons you could possibly have. Matt,
I like your show until you start talking politics. I
(22:37):
don't agree with your ways, and I listen to get
news about UK sports. If you continued mention politics in
your show, you will lose me and other listeners. Well sorry,
First of all, no you won't. You'll you'll stay. But secondly,
I mean, you know we've done this forever, so like
(22:58):
you must be if you you must be a new life.
If you didn't realize that, and I'm sure we've lost
a few, but I want to keep life interesting and
it's impossible, unfortunately, to not to talk about what's going
on and not mention that stuff because it's everywhere now.
It's become a huge part of everything everybody does. So
and we don't have UK news either. Yeah, I mean,
(23:18):
what are you going to say? What's the UK news?
You can't create it? Yeah, what's the UK news?
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Like?
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Mark Stoops is motivated like how many times? Yeah he is?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Hell yeah, Bush Hampton's telling the offensive line to breathe
through their nose.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Yep. That was big news yesterday. Yeah, I see there's
the UK news.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
He's looking for to breathe through your nose.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
I didn't hear this. What happened? He's telling them breath
through their nose, Shandon.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Just because it relaxes you.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
You get more oxygen into your bloodstream and that's what
he wants his So he.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Tells our offensive li i'man to breathe through their nose. Yep.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
That was Caage Pete that that said that really well.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
You do when you when you do like meditation, they tell.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
You to do your nose out through your mouth.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, that's that's how you do meditation in through your nose.
I like when I can't sleep. They taught me that
and it actually was one of the few things, along
with cornbread hemp, that helped. If you breathe through your
nose out through your mouth, you intentionally extend it for
like six seconds, and you do that enough, it just
slows your heart rate down and you're just and you
(24:17):
can't You can't think about anything else which can help
you fall asleep. So I do that quite often. I
didn't think though that would be good. I don't want
to fall asleep on playing football, and they certainly shouldn't
have cornbread heap before they played football. It's basically, we
just need Pete to do every interview because that's when
we get our best stuff. Is when Pete is from
in front of a camera. He's the best. Did you
see they did the Lake Retreat and do you know
(24:38):
what a blob is was in the movie? Pete was
the one bouncing onto the blob. Some of the guys
I don't think of landed yet, but I mean, how
fun would that be? Having Pete down? A just may
surprise you. But when I went to Camp Rockmont in
Black Mountain, North Carolina. The blob terrified me as someone
who's not a big swimmer. The blob was a terrify thing.
(25:00):
I never got to experience it, just just in the
movie Heavyweights always wanted to Yeah, they know, that's what
they called. It was the blob. To one person, rates Matt,
if you want to increase your core strength while you're
walking at a weighted vest, it makes it to where
you don't have to walk as far and you will
strengthen your core muscles. But wouldn't that be hot?
Speaker 1 (25:22):
I saw a guy doing it at the State Fair,
and I go the State Fair seems like a strange
place for a guy to be running around with a
weight it vest on.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
But there's a woman that I wasn't going to bring
that up, but since you brought it up, and there's
a woman here who every day at lunch wears the
wave vest and somebody Billy uh like, well not just him. Honestly,
there's a lot of people involved in this show that
(25:49):
have a major crush on this woman. Oh, people that
are not present, everyone that's not here right now. Think
about who's on this show right now, and then take
the other three people who have some role in this show.
I've never seen her. I had never seen her, so
they mentioned her. I've never seen her, but they talk
about her like they're talking about this angel that's descended
(26:14):
from heaven down to P three. I'm not kidding. Well,
we don't have to say what floor it is, but
it's three options. But but Shannon, three people that are
not here. This is a like a regular thing. But
she apparently does the best.
Speaker 7 (26:32):
Right.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Is there any chance that maybe Ryan's not really dropping
off Joe Sia and he's out walking around with a
way to pest done.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
In the parking lot right now?
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Probably not. I saw her for the first time just
maybe even yesterday. I mean it's it is a full
workout of the parking garage. I never would consider doing that. Yeah, well,
I've never seen this person, but I've heard, as they
would say, I've heard tale and people I have it.
(27:01):
Are you gonna get a wait at best?
Speaker 7 (27:02):
Now?
Speaker 3 (27:04):
They're popular in my neighborhood. I see people wearing them all.
It's uncomfortable. How much does it weigh? Well, you choose
your own eVision. You can pick which weight. Yeah, you
show off? I like I would do that and then
I'd get down to like you know, I'd get over
there to like the Starbucks and Chevy Chase and just
fall down. I had Uber home from a walk with time.
It's embarrassing. It is embarrassing.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
Uber.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
I've done it too, and sometimes you have. That's that
is embarrassing. Let's go to Matt. Go ahead, Matt, Yeah, I.
Speaker 10 (27:33):
Got a little baseball trivia question.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
All right.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
In nineteen twenty seven, Bay Ruth hit sixty home runs?
All right?
Speaker 10 (27:44):
Who who led the major leagues in RBI that year?
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Tooty mckhenderson. I have no idea who was it?
Speaker 10 (27:55):
It was a Bay Bruce baded third, lou Gary bad
and fourth, and lou Garry hit one hundred, was seventy
five RBIs coming to the plate sixty times?
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Was nobody on base? There? You go. See Shandon didn't
even know that. No I did.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
And I was gonna say pee wee Reese was Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
I had no idea, Thank you very much? A five nine, eight,
twenty two, eighty seven? Who had the nineteen twenty eight
thank for me the whole show one day? That was
Toudy mckinderson or whatever you said.
Speaker 11 (28:27):
Patriot papal go ahead, sold up guys, and interested to
hear your take on this with the Ask Anything Wednesday
in honor of college football season starting the game in
Ireland between Kansas Camea.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
I was top twenty five max up matchup. Yeah, it's
the former gedding game.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
Ironic that they're doing this in Dublin, Ireland, home of
the potato famine a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
What are your.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Top five college football rivalry game names?
Speaker 9 (29:03):
I'll go ahead and give you former getting as one
of the.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Top five because I think it's awesome.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
I'll hang up and listen to your car again. It's good,
you know, boy, I don't know there's one that's like
what battle for the Battle acts? Yeah, appreciate the call.
Speaker 7 (29:16):
I like.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
The Iron bowls?
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Good.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
What do they call the egg Bowl? I like egg Bowl?
I don't like the egg Bowl because it's Thanksgiving and
it's usually well, yeah, that's true, it used to be Thanksgiving.
What's the one we talked about on the Gambling podcast.
There were the small schools, but oh yeah, it was
the Battle for the River or the Creek. I think
it was Prostate Creek.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
The Red River Showdown? Is that?
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Yeah? That's Oklahoma Texas now there's one that was like
a Wannita college and something. We talked about it on
fade This a long time ago. They both and then
they sent a shirts from it, if you remember correctly.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
There's the backyard brawl. I like that one.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, in West Virginia. Back here, Yeah, my a friend
of mine writes and says, Matt, everyone nowadays is wearing
the weighted vest I didn't know that. And the breathing,
that style of breeding breathing is called Channon. Smell the flower,
blow out the candle.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Oh, you got a lot of candles to blow out.
Speaker 12 (30:20):
Smell the flower. Yeah, blow out the candle. It's like
meditation radio. I feel like we turned to be NPR
and this is what the big blue wall is gonna do.
That worries me. It's kind of like the Wineman.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yeah. Do you think they get in the huddle and say,
smell the flower, blow out the candle. I could see
doing that. Here we go together, smell the flower, blow
out the candle.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
You aren't about to stock the little garlic before the game.
Speaker 9 (30:50):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
I would be honored to tell you about stocks and mortgage, Matt.
You know, fireworks are great. They're really great. In July,
but they're still good in August, and so is making
the most of your homes EQUI what if it's just
sitting there? Stockton Mortgage can help you put it to
better use, whether it's a renovation, the summer move, or
your next big adventures. Stockton helps homeowners turn equity into
action without the guest work. So don't spend another summer
(31:13):
thinking about it. Start at Stockton dot com. They have
locations all over Kentucky at Stockton Mortgage NMLS eight two
five nine, Equal Housing Lender. The only thing that I
don't I don't agree with is is this putting in
there you love fireworks because I, as a client, do
not love five. I don't like them either. I don't
so Stockton mistake. We'll take a break, be right back,
(31:36):
Kentucky Sports right.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
To talk to Matt Jones and the crew called the
Clarks Popping Shop phone line at eight five nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven or one eight hundred
and six oh six forty two sixty three. And you
can text Matt on the Avision Glass text machine at
seven seven two seven seven four five two five.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Four Cajun Hanger fifty four pizza. It's all there. You
download the Clark's Rewards app, you get all kinds of discounts.
At some point, I gotta get on this have apps.
I got it in general, but like I see people
at Clark's and they like scan it and they get
like all this stuff and it's like forty three cents
usually like free drinks. I mean McDonald's people are getting
like long things and it's like a dollar twenty. It's
(32:15):
a lot of work, but the Clark's Pumping Shop app
is worth it. They're more than just a stop for
gas and snacks. They're local folks giving back to the
community at Clark's Pumping Shop, Return, Refresh, refuel Channon, do
you do that? You will do all the saving apps for.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Some of them.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I will, but you know, I'm not one of these
people that walks around and has twenty different things hanging
from their key chain.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
You know.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
I'll do like one or two the place I go
the most.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
The McDonald's one is tough because like people are like, no,
go do you have McDonald's hav no gong on.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
I haven't done on.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
It's like, come on, I would never fight with my wife,
but if we did most of our fights would be
in the McDonald's line when I'm saying, just give me
the four numbers or I'm going to order like a
normal human being. It could be trouble. People love it,
I mean they loved their McDonald's app. I caved. I
got it recently. Yeah, I honestly the first time I
(33:09):
ever used it, I was with my dad, who's also
old school. We are using the app, and I mistakenly
ordered at a different location than where we were at,
so it wasn't a good first. I understand how this
stuff works, so like like like take like a good
RX pharmacy. Do you all know what that is? It's
like an app it cost well, first of all, it's free,
(33:30):
but then you can do like a subscription that's like
ten dollars a month or something. I had a medication
a while back that was like three hundred and eighty
dollars and I went to the to the people and
I'm like, I, why is this so much? And they
were like, just download the app, said fine, So I
downloaded this app, scanned it. It was three dollars and
thirty one cents. How does that explain to me what
(33:53):
that business model is? What is the business model where
it's three hundred eighty dollars, I download an app, just
hit a button and it's three dollars and eighty one cents.
Who does that make sense for? Does it make sense
for the pharmacy? Does it make sense for the drug company?
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Who are they so only advertisements on that app or
something like?
Speaker 3 (34:17):
I don't understand the price discrepancy. So I mean I
was like, thank thank you, and then they go Honestly,
most things it'll do that and it's just an app.
I don't get it. Do you do you know why
that would be. I'm familiar with the app, but I've
never heard like something that extreme on it. So we
don't need insurance. You just need the app and everything
(34:40):
everything works out. There's an app for everything. Yeah, Pete,
go ahead, Pete. Hi, Yeah, what you today? Nice to
hear from you.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yeah, I listen. I'll bring up to might get a
bit of an apology because last time a cord I've
come across as a bit of a rumpy old man
about South Africa.
Speaker 9 (35:01):
But really it.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Was just out of concern.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
Yes, you were you were being kind, you were trying
to help me. I didn't I didn't I wasn't upset
at you.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Well, anyway, on September the sixth, at nine oh five
South African time, the spring Box will be playing the
All Blacks at Eden Park.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
In New Zealand. Okay, yeah, now.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
I know, I know you don't think this is a
It's a huge deal in South Africa, you know, a
really big deal. It's the number one game they had
the World Champions and you know you'll be over there.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
No I won't. Yeah, I don't leave till September eleven.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Okay, well, September the thirteenth.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Okay, on September.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
All Blacks versus spring Box at the Wellington Stadium in
New Zealand, and the game is uh at seven five.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I will be I'll be there for that. So you're
telling me that South Africa will be excited on that
Saturday for All Blacks versus Wellington, Well, can.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
I give you a week bit of just a little
bit of.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
History, just like a little bit.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Okay, Well, the All Blacks haven't been beaten an eaten
Pikes for thirty one years. Wow right, Okay, so this
is the game.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
This is the game. So I actually am free that night.
That's like one of the two nights I have free.
So where would you suggest I think I'm going to
be in Johannesburg that night? Where would you suggest I
watched the game?
Speaker 4 (36:46):
If you would let me off find out for you
and get back.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
To you, please do because I'd love to be in
I love being in a place and soaking up the
atmosphere of people excited about a sporting event, So I
would love to do that. Well, well, it's huge.
Speaker 7 (37:00):
Wait.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
The last thing I've got to know is what's your size?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Uh, you're gonna be more specifically what part of me?
Speaker 9 (37:09):
All right?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Talking your closing side?
Speaker 3 (37:12):
Yeah, first shirt for a shirt? Most shirts X L
if it's if it fits small two X okay?
Speaker 4 (37:22):
And do you prefer short or long sleeves?
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Long?
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Well, is there some way I've got a little present
for you that should arrive in the future.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
That's very nice ks bar. If you send anything to
me at ks bar, I will get it, and that

Wednesday and Thursday, So any of those days just stop by.
Speaker 4 (37:57):

I love to give.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
You one, all right, thank you, Pete. Appreciate it, all right,
appreciate What is it? What was it? A talisman? I've
heard the word, but what is it? I'm not sure,
but I did look up that game the match. Yeah,
it's a big deal. Anybody know what the talisman is?
It is an object, an object believed to possess magical
(38:27):
properties used for protection, healing, or good luck. She probably
wants me to take that on my trip. Yeah, you're
gonna need that. It's very nice. That's a nice fellow.
That's a nice fell And there's Bob and Jamestown. Go ahead, Bob,

out of curiosity. Where did you hear that? Recient media?
(39:25):
What media?
Speaker 9 (39:30):
No, it's on the TV, but I pull it up.
I mean, that's a pretty big donation.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
I mean, I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm I'm
looking at I don't see it. It was on the
TV though, Yeah, okay, four million, four million? Mm hmmm, right,
breaking news.
Speaker 9 (39:54):
I mean, he's one of the one of the highest paid,
you know, NBA players. But I mean that's pretty nice
that donation. All right, well, I appreciate the call.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
The top result on Google is Anthony Davis donates four
hundred million to Kentucky and it's a Facebook group. That's
not really but that's four hundred million, he said four Yeah,
I think he fell for a fake post, while also
getting the number wrong by one hundred million dollars or
(40:24):
by three hundred and ninety six million dollars.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Here it is on Facebook recently donated four million dollars.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
But again it's Facebook.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
What does it say who wrote it?
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Uh, that doesn't say it's not on on three out
on believe.
Speaker 3 (40:44):

think he donated money for flood relief. If yeah, that's
