Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio present it
by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Now here's Matt Jones quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio eight F I've nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh text machine
seven seven two seven seven four five two five four
Here at Ksbar where the wings are starting to flow.
We got new staff training and uh getting everything ready. Saturday,
we open at nine for breakfast. Should be fun. Our
pregame show Saturday starts at eight thirty am, but the

(01:29):
doors here don't open till nine. But it starts at
eight thirty am for people who be asking me, yes,
the buses will be going to the game from here,
which is probably the easiest way to get to the game.
It's just a I think, is it a dollar? Is
that what the ride is?

Speaker 6 (01:43):
Change? It's always been a dollar.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
It's a dollar there and a dollar back, and you
can park. I mean the reason it's the best deal
is you can park here for free and it's a dollar.
Although I will say, uh, we do like the businesses
here do require you to patron the business, so you
can't just like drop your car off and leave or
you will be taken to Alligator Alcatraz.

Speaker 6 (02:03):
So just for just so people know. Yeah, and the.

Speaker 7 (02:07):
Same bus that takes the stadium will take you out
Alligator Alcatraz.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Yeah, it's a tough drive, to be honest with you,
if I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven. We got
some folks on, but a couple things before we do.
Ryan number one Summrvelli officially ended last night. Sad about it.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
It was. It was a good run. I have to
tell you.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
It got almost to my birthday, which I think is
much better than I would have thought.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
It's ended just because they can't hit.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Uh, basically it ends on the West Coast, losing two
or three in Arizona and now chance to get swept
in here tonight in LA. But the bigger thing is
the Mets have kind of found their groove and we
can't really hit consistently. We're a player short pictures are
getting hurt. It was a fun ride, though. I enjoyed
this team quite a bit, and then I'm really excited

(02:55):
for next year. I think they if they can go
get one player during the off season, I think they
got a chance to be really good.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I gotta admit you hung in there longer than Shanon.
I both thought you were going to We thought maybe
by mid May you'd already tap out. Like I'm out,
Summer Velly's over.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I can tell you the moment I tapped out was
when that when Marte bunted last night, that was that
was it. You down two to one, third inning, first
and second, nobody out. You know, you know the Dodger's
gonna score more. You're in there, home, you got, you got,
you got. Marte followed by Ellie like you gotta you
gotta go for it. He bunts it, pops it up,
turns into a double play, and at that moment I said,

(03:29):
the Summer Velly is unfortunately over. But I did, like
I said, did really enjoy it. And then they announced
yesterday next season opening day is the Red Sox.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Oh my wow.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
If you think I'm not selling that ticket.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Hoping today's a big ticket anyway, I mean, that's the
only thing.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
I don't like is normally the Red Sox are a
good ticket in and of itself, but opening Day in
the Red Sox, between me and you, I feel like
I can get like a grand each for that ticket
if i'm I mean, I could probably I can pay
for a good chunk of my season tickets just with
that game. So there's no way I mean I'll go.
I'll sit up in the top. But there's no way

(04:10):
I'm I'm not selling that one.

Speaker 7 (04:13):
Is there any way you could talk yourself back into
the the month.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Left, you're really out cower.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
No.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I mean I may still watch games. I may still
watch the game three and a half. I may still
watch the game. But they're done. I can just like
you can, you know how, sometimes you can just tell
like we're done. It's okay, but we're done. I'm still
gonna watch them because they're fun. I want to see
They'll bring this South Steward guy up this weekend. He's
he's kind of a future star, so I want to

(04:39):
watch him.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
But but they're done.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
It's sad to see the end of the run. We
followed this roller coaster since the spring. It's been up
and down every week, and now it's fun.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
When I looked at the calendar back in June, I
kind of thought this was when it was gonna end.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
This road trip.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
It just kind of felt like, you know, because they
got to go back out to the West Coast again
in two weeks, so it's it's over.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
But it was, But I I enjoyed.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
I did value it, yes, and I gave you I'm
giving you my tickets for sun.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I appreciate you tapping out like I watched the Cardinals
and reds Now on Sunday. Because you're tapping out.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
I was gonna give them to you anyway.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
You appreciate that, Daddy.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Come on, no, stop, that made me uncomfortable.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Ryan, What are you doing.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
That?

Speaker 6 (05:23):
You just you can't do that?

Speaker 8 (05:24):
Like you can't.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
You can't do that. Like it's not it's it's not.
It's not. It's not a positive like it's not.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
It doesn't make I mean literally every single listener out there,
it ran up their spine when you said that negatively, like.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
You scooed it over to get away. Just naturally, I
started moving it's all.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
First of all, it pleases no one. It doesn't please
the listener. Certainly doesn't please me.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
Uh it's it's.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Not since yeah, I think it pleased one person maybe giggle. No, stop,
do you promise you're not gonna.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
Do that again? I promise I'm gonna roll up them
in you and bop them in the nose. No, no, no,
don't encourage you.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Stop uncle mad Okay, I don't love that either, but
I can do I can deal with that, all right,
It's part of the problem, Ryan, is even normal words
come out creepy when.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
You say so.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
If you say something like that, it just comes out
extra creepy.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
So please don't turn down the creepiness.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
But I don't think you're gonna be able to do that.
So just certain things, just don't say it. Just don't
say Cracker Barrel changed its logo back.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
They did.

Speaker 6 (06:40):
People don't seem to get.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
My joke I think is good, which is they're bringing
back the barrel and the cracker. But nobody seems to
think that's as funny as I do. But nevertheless, it's back.
It was only gone for a few days. Here's what
I'm gonna say. I think, Shannon, now that they're bringing
it back, you could argue the best publicity they could
have ever had.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Of course, Yeah, there's stocks going back up.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Their stocks back are happy again.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
People to me also say people don't understand how stocks work.
When you say, well, they lost one hundred and fifty
million dollars, No they didn't. The value goes there, but
they didn't. Nobody took that money from them. It's how
much people are paying for their stock. You know, their
stock is down fifty percent in the last five years,
like it used to be like one hundred and ten
and now it's fifty seven. So they were already heading

(07:27):
a pretty negative direction. But now they've bounced right back up,
and they had everybody talking about Cracker Barrel again. And
now there's gonna be people who like boycotted it who
now are gonna go back. Like Shannon, I think it
ended up being a masterful set of publicity. Whether they
intended that or not, it ended up working out.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Is the best publicity Cracker Barrel has ever gotten. Now,
they didn't say they wouldn't change the inside of it,
which really is what got to me more so than
the logo. I didn't care about the logo, but don't
change the inside of it. They haven't committed to going
back to them.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
What they said was yeah, But what they said was right.
They're only doing a different insight on the new ones.
The old ones are gonna stay the same.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Okay, Well, I got a different understanding of it than
you do, because I was told that they were going
to go through and remodel all of them slowly, not
all at once. It would take a couple of years.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Okay, Well, maybe I'm wrong about that either way.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
In hindsight, Drew, I think it worked out for him
really well.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Like I think it got everybody talking about it.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
It got people saying what they liked, but they didn't
like maybe what they needed to improve, and so I
think it.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
Ended up being a net positive for Cracker Barrel.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
In the long world.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
Yeah, probably an inside job because they're nine percent today alone.
So anyone got that dip your little money making opportunity here.
I think they did it on purpose.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Insider trading, yep, it work sold at the top, put
out all this bad publicity that bought right back in.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
Yeah, you could probably made some money if you did that.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Right, you know, new coke and old coke. And it
worked for them, And so I think maybe Cracker Barrel
did this. Maybe this was their grand plan all along
to get people. When's the last time we ever talked
about cracker Barrel? What's the last time the national.

Speaker 6 (08:59):
Meeting we moved Middlesborough? That was a big That was
big when.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
That happened, that Crocker Barrow in the food bracket.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
Yeah, now here's the question.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Would now that it's on your mind, are you more
likely to go to a Cracker Barrel now? I actually
think I kind of am because I just hadn't thought
about it in so long. It had not even occurred
to me to think about going, And now you know,
maybe you do.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Right.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
I went to Cracker bearl two weeks ago before all this,
so I was still in my same place with cracker barrel.
But I bet there are people that will now get
excited that it's sting like that. People will get talked
into going now to celebrate that they're keeping the old
man in his barrel in front of mine.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Of course, I think more people are going to go
now because it's been in the news.

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Yeah, how awkward is it for the person that had
the idea of the logo you just leave.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Something, You just get your things and something for the
people who said do the different logo?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, that was your one contribution to the.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Yeah, and you know what, that's good.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
It does go to show though, like they couldn't have
thought when they did it it was going to end
up like this, But it was a good pivot to
oh back yes and now get all the positive attention.
So I think I'm gonna say plus one, Cracker Bell,
I think it ended up working out for him.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Just send that one person to the mail room or
fire them and act like I.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Never had to, just keep acting like it didn't happen.
All right, who's next, Brent, Brent? Go ahead, Brent, Brent, Brent. Okay,
let's go to Rob.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Rob. Go ahead, Rob? All right? Do you have these
are these people? Do they exist? Shannon? Or are you
just making enough names?

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I'm not making them up.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
Let's try Casey, Casey, go ahead, Casey.

Speaker 9 (10:34):
Hey fellows, good morning, good boarding.

Speaker 8 (10:38):
I had two quick.

Speaker 9 (10:39):
Things, so I wanted to say congrats to the newly
engaged couple ones so they're listening. I was blown away
that she got to announce the engagement herself and it
didn't leak. And then so I read Jason Kelsey met
his wife on Tinder. Imagine you love your life on
Tinder and now Taylor Smith is going to be your
sister and isn't that well? And that's all I had.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Thanks, guys, Yeah, that is crazy.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
I didn't realize that Jason Kelsey met his wife on tender.
I appreciate, appreciate the call. That is kind of well,
by the way, where did you all meet your your
Where did you meet Abbey? Where all people should meet
at lovely Tin Roof.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
We even when it rained on our wedding day, we
had to cancel our wedding photo while you were there
and we ended up we were like, well, let's just
take the bus to ten Roof and do photos there.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
So I remember that. Yes, we were about to take
pictures outside.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
Actually the specific place was the Color Run in Louisville,
but we were there on a Tin Roof team.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Okay, what about you? Where did you meet your current like.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
You girl and I actually used to work together at
Channel eighteen thirty years ago.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Do you ever meet people you don't work with?

Speaker 8 (11:45):
Like?

Speaker 5 (11:46):
I mean, I think all three of the women you've
ended up with didn't you meet them all at work?

Speaker 6 (11:51):
You're like a walking HR disaster.

Speaker 7 (11:54):
I don't want a room with you anymore. On trips
noticed this.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Like, do you ever do you ever get outside of work?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I don't really. I don't do the app thing, I
don't do any of the dating services. I'm just you know,
stay in my comfort zone Channel eighteen.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
All right, I'm saying it. What about you? Where did
you meet your lady in a bar?

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Pub?

Speaker 6 (12:18):
I have been to t k S Pub. That's an
interesting place to go. Hunting.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
I wasn't hunting, but fall in your lab.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
Yeah, that's one way to put it. Yeah, that's good.
How about you?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Where'd you find your lady?

Speaker 5 (12:32):
I mean you're making a mockery of a question because
there's nothing to Probably in recent years it's it's been
like dating app. Yeah, probably because I don't go out right,
Like I don't. I don't go out, So where am
I gonna? You know, where am I going to meet somebody?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Being an older guy, it's crazy to watch the younger generation,
that's how they meet people.

Speaker 6 (12:56):
I'm not on I'm not on Tender. I don't know.
That's for kids, I think, I mean, I haven't we The.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Only time I was on Tender was Withdrew in The
Great Story of in Dallas when I when Tender thought
I was a lesbian.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
Yeah so that's.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Wait what somebody stuff?

Speaker 5 (13:14):
What Tender thought I was a lesbi? You know I've
told this story before. We don't have to go over
it again. Yeah, that story, it's for something. But it
is true that we're both swiping its age on Facebook
is wrong.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
We've talked about that before. But but Tender was like, oh,
this must be a lesbian.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Twenty nine year old lesbian.

Speaker 6 (13:35):
Yeah, who's who's up next? Ship? Matt, Matt, go ahead, Matt.

Speaker 8 (13:41):
Hey, guys, how you all doing doing good? I just
want to say, uh, thank you for u ks R
and everything like that. I've been doing a little medical
stuff going on, so I've been on the couch for
a while, but i want to say thank you. I've
been listening every day for the last couple months, and

(14:04):
so I appreciate you all just giving great content every day.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Well, thank you very much, and God bless you good
luck on your your medical thing.

Speaker 8 (14:16):
I do have one more thing to say. Okay, you
all were talking about Dairy Queen and the Blizzard Machine
having to work as the owner of a sports bar.
Shouldn't your TV's work too well?

Speaker 6 (14:30):
They generally do.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
But I mean if I only had one television and
then it didn't work, that would be a problem. But
we have thirty some TV so yeah, occasionally one goes down.
But Dairy Queen has one Blizzard Machine, so no, I
don't think it's the same as one TV goes down
out of thirty as opposed to one Blizzard machine out
of one goes down.

Speaker 8 (14:54):
I was just trying to make a joke. I hope
you all have a great day.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Yeah, all right, if our smoker goes down, appreciate that. Yeah,
if the smoker goes down, that would be a little
bit different. Tell me about Stocktor Morgan.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Stockton Margan, you know, Ring Ring Ring. Your equity is
calling you and it's time. Maybe they'll use that equity,
that that equity. Put that equity to work for you.
You can do a cash out refinance, you can do
a reconstruction loan. So just give him a call. They're
easy to work with. They're all across the state. They're growing,
They're everywhere there. You pass one all the time, mostly
your communities. So go to Stockton dot com. There's a
button right there says get started. You hit that button,

(15:25):
the'll pray you up with the loan officer. They'll get
you all the way to the closing table. That's what
it's all about. Easy to work with, easy to work with,
easy to work with. Doctor Morgan in MLS A two
five to nine Equal housing Linder.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
It is wingsday here at Chas Bar and Grill. We're
gonna take a break and be right back. It's Kentucky
Sports Radio. You know, I like this Saushannon Confederate Railroad.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Right, I believe it's yeah, I think of this though.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Daddy never was a Cadillac cond But I think he's
actually talking about his actual father here.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
He's not talking about his his boss at work.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
There's more like country songs that have daddy in it
than I would think. Yeah, like what, Well, there's Daddy
won't sell the farm by Montgomery Gentry.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Okay, Daddy's come around.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Yeah, Daddy's come that's I love that song. Daddy's come
around to mama's way of thinking. There's the Baton Rouge, right,
Colin Baton Rouge, Papa.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Wasn't Mama and dad?

Speaker 7 (16:23):
About Johnny's daddy was taking fishing?

Speaker 6 (16:25):
There you go, Johnny's daddy was taking me Keith, who's
your daddy? Oh that's right, Toby Keith, who's your daddy?
That's a good call. Yeah, Country country likes that work.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
So when johnny'sdaddy took him fishing, was that his father
or his boss?

Speaker 6 (16:41):
Not sure?

Speaker 5 (16:42):
A good question. Did you see the story about Babe
Ruth in Tennessee? This is uh this is a great
story and uh I have a strong feeling about it.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
There's a man in Tennessee. Whose name is is Babe Ruth?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Really?

Speaker 6 (16:57):
Okay? Like that's his real name, is Babe Ruth.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
However, he went around claiming to be Babe Ruth, the
Yankees player, and he defrauded allegedly one hundred and ninety
people out of money by claiming to be Babe Ruth
the Yankees player. And he's now been indicted for fraud
for and has gone to prison for defrauding people out

(17:20):
of money for being for saying he's Babe Ruth the
Yankees player. I'm of the opinion that's on the people
that got defrauded. Like, if you fall for Babe Ruth,
who's been dead for seventy five years, then I.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
Think you're you deserve to lose your money. True. I
think you are so insanely gullible that you need to
have your money parted from you. Now.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
You don't want people to get uh, you know, ripped
off or get caught up in fraud. But if it's
so obvious, then you fall for it. We need to
have like a level of that's that's your bad. How
you answer the Saudi Prince in your DMS, send them
your solid screen number.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
That's on you.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
They also said that he realized how easy it was,
so sometimes he would claim to be other players, including
Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
People don't think they're still alive, I guess.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
But what is the scenario where you're giving Honus Wagner money? Like,
how would that even happen?

Speaker 6 (18:20):
He's selling his autograph.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
They just played one hundred years ago in the twenties.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Now, at least his name was Babe Ruth, so if
he pulled that identification, you could be like, well, I
guess Babe Ruth has aged.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Pretty well right for one hundred and forty.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
But Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner too, But he finally
got caught and he can now no longer do that.

Speaker 7 (18:42):
I actually respect. Is the odd asked you to try that?

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Then it worked?

Speaker 6 (18:46):
Yeah, you should go around and say you're John F.
Kennedy junior.

Speaker 7 (18:49):
All right, I'll try that.

Speaker 6 (18:50):
That's more recent though.

Speaker 5 (18:51):
Maybe go uh, I don't know, Abe Lincoln, just say
you're able link got the beard, you're from Kentucky.

Speaker 10 (18:58):
I bet you'd be able to get some top hate. Yeah,
just just go with or ask for a donation. Wow, wow,
is right?

Speaker 6 (19:08):
Who's next? Let's get it justin, justin, go ahead, justin,
Thank god. I hope you're doing well.

Speaker 11 (19:15):
I heard about the discussion earlier on the Dairy Queen machines.
I wanted to give a little tip. I've been using
the apps for Dairy Queen and McDonald's. It'll tell you
if it's available or unavailable. And the drive through where
I placed the order through the app because it said
it was available, and they have told the person in

(19:35):
front of me, sorry, our machines down, and then I
proceed to pull around and get my mcflurry or or
blizzard whatever it is. So just a little, a little
work around because I think they.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
Just don't like I can't deal with it sometimes. Yeah,
I can understand that they can pull them off the
line a little bit, makes sense.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
You know, we have that we have an al eight
slushy machine here that does go down quite a bit.
I think actually doesn't even like it would work for
a day. But there was a time we caught one
of our bartenders just didn't want to do it. No,
we like it's down, but then it wasn't. That was
a long time ago. But you do have to be careful.

Speaker 7 (20:09):
Oh late at night shift inding if you've already cleaned it,
whether it's a grill, a Blizzard machine, whatever. If you're
wanting to go home, you might tell somebody that things
not working. I've already done that.

Speaker 6 (20:19):
Sure, Yes, you and I are almost always available on
that aut appreciate the call.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
You and I Drew are at least scheduled as of
now to do our first NFL show tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
Are you feeling nervous at all?

Speaker 7 (20:35):
I mean a little bit, but I will say the
feedback we got of our practice one and already getting
one under our belts.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
The dress rehearsal help get me ready for it.

Speaker 7 (20:43):
I feel like it took us about fifteen twenty minutes
in the practice to get to get a feel for it,
which now made me much more prepared for the rule.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
The NFL sent us Ryan A. They sent us a
revised cover art. Oh they did, Yeah, and I still
look awful.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Waited to see the updated Yeah, the upgrade.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
I showed it to Drew. Right, No, I haven't seen it.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
Yeah, text, well, all right, I'll send it during the break,
But basically I still look terrible. They still didn't give
me a knack. They still no, wait, I'm not sending
it to you. All, what are you talking about? At first,
I'm not sending it in the group text. I'll show
it to them here.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
I'll show it to you when I see you, Shannon, Well,
I won't see you for a while.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
So so so here's the thing. It wasn't very good,
so I sent it. So I didn't want to be
the guy that twice complained about how he looked on
the thing. So I wrote him and said, listen, this
is fine if you have to do it. It's still
like it still doesn't look like me, and I think

(21:49):
I didn't say you did this on chat GPT, but
it looks like it was done on chat GPT. So
I said, but if it's fine, if you want to
put it out, and he was like, no, we want
you to be happy with the first and we'll put
out just another logo and then work on this in
the in the thing, so all they did was basically
take my forehead wrinkle out, and then you know they

(22:11):
took a couple of the crows feet away from me
and Drew and that.

Speaker 6 (22:14):
I don't know why I had to look seventy and that.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
We've got these great characters of you guys right behind
us every day and these are these are fifteen years
old and they're really good.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
Like I would think the technology has gotten better, but
these are fifteen years old right here, and I think
they still look very good.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
Don't you. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:33):
I've even seen some that that are AI. But the
people posting on bond that bridge, and I'm like, wow,
that looks really professional. And I assume they just ran
it through AI. Why can't our friends at the at
the league use the same technology.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
But I also am very careful because I don't want
to seem like, I mean, we're brand new.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
I don't want to seem deva or or demand.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
They're gonna find out eventually you might as well.

Speaker 7 (22:55):
They can cancel this and keep moving on with their
lives and not missing us.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
Right, Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
Who's next, quickly, Let's get brent on.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
Brent forty seconds go ahead.

Speaker 12 (23:05):
Hey Matt, good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Quickly.

Speaker 12 (23:09):
So I wanted to talk to the disrespect that Kentucky
is getting for this first game against Toledo. Everybody's picking
Toledo to win that game in the upset Kentucky. And
I know there's some skepticisms because of the you know,
the debacle that last year was, and to be honest,
I don't really believe a whole lot this year either.
But if you don't think the coaches and the team
haven't heard that and aren't going to come out and

(23:30):
play with a chip on your shoulder, I mean that's crazy.

Speaker 6 (23:34):
I hope you're right. TJ.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
He'll make them pay.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
I genuinely like this song, Channon. It's Paul over Street, right, Yep.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
It's a lot of Daddy in here though it is.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
But I've always liked it. He's an underrated artist. Actually,
I just showed you the new picture. Not a fan, right, I.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
See the problem. It looks like you need some definition.
Like they just use one color throughout your whole neck,
face and forehead and you can't really tell.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
Purple that one is a little better. But you need
some some features.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah, it's not very good, all right, I said on
yesterday Matt Sack, who's a Kentucky fan site guy, he
wrote out he was or no. Justin Rowland asked who
the Kentucky football Mount Rushmore was. Who were like the
four if you were to create the Kentucky football Mount Rushmore,
who would it be? And he he had suggestions, and

(24:35):
so here were mine. I feel like three of them.
I feel like my first three. I don't think you
can really dispute. And then I think the fourth one
you can go a lot of different directions depending on
what you think matters.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
So to me, like Art still is like is definite.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Art still has to be on there all American great
defensive play. Then Tim Couch, I think has to be
on their best quarterback, number one overall pick et, cetera.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
And then uh uh, Josh Allen for me, has to
be on there.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
I think Josh Allen is the best modern player that
Kentucky has has had.

Speaker 6 (25:19):
But then I think off. Then I think after that
you decide, Okay, do I.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Want like a George Blanda. Do I want Benny Snell
who has the rushing title. Do I want Randall Cobb
who could do everything for a few years? GERMANI Dawson
who was has an amazing legendary pro career, good at
Kentucky but not like Mount Rushmore, but maybe the best

(25:44):
pro of all time. I think I had one more
on my list of potentials. Is there anybody else that
you could see? And then do you disagree with any
of my major threes?

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Yeah, I'm winning DERMANI do you know, maybe his.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
UK career mar He's only second team All SEC.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Uh, But what he did post Kentucky, when one of
the greatest Sinners ever played the game, I think that
that earns him the right to be on our Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
But usually when we do UK basketball, we don't take
account pro their pro career.

Speaker 7 (26:12):
Yep, even changed positions in the NFL really mostly guard
here and then became one of the best centers ever
in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
So what it was? So who would be yours? Well?

Speaker 2 (26:21):
My first three I thought of immediately. I was couch, Art,
Steel and DERMANI that fourth one, Josh Josh Allen's a
great example of somebody that could probably do it. But
you go back to Dave Babe Perilli and George Blanding,
those guys they won the mythical national championship. We're gonna
ignore those guys.

Speaker 6 (26:37):
I give I mean, and this is my bias, and
I'm fine with it. I'll accept it.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
I give less for things like Mount Rushmore when you
played when it was segregated. I mean, I just I
think it's a it's just a different time in sports.
If I'm saying who the who the the best of
the best are, that's just that's just me.

Speaker 7 (26:57):
I'm with you that there's three that I mean it's
Mount Rushmore, or go ahead and put him in stone,
put him up there. It's art still. Josh Allen, Tim Couch,
I think that should be on just about everybody's list.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Fourth.

Speaker 7 (27:07):
You can go a lot of directions. I'm actually gonna
say someone you didn't name. It's more personality. I'm gonna
say Jared because a lot of people when you think
of Kentucky football, if you're not from around here, you
don't fall it closely. That is one of the first
players you think of. So it's more of obviously the
personality and the style than what he actually accomplished. But
I would put Jared as a fourth. You wouldn't put
Josh Allen on yours.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
I mean, he's all time sack leader if you're talking
about pro if you're talking about pro stuff, I mean,
he's got He's probably been Kentucky's best pro in the
modern era.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, we talked the other day that the three best
defensive players have probably been Josh Allen, Dennis Johnson, and
Art Still. So you pick one of those three, pick
two of those three. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
It's hard for me to pick an offensive lineman just
because like who knows. I mean, like it's hard, Like
what's the name of the guy that was All America?
Was it Faine or something? Or isn't there who's the
guy back in the seventh what Bob Gain? Yeah, I

(28:09):
mean I don't know, right, like he was an All American.
I can't say he was better or worse than pick
the offensive lineman on the big Blue Wall, because I
don't really know how to compare that.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Is dermontiviol the only Kentucky graduate to be in the
NFL Hall of Fame.

Speaker 6 (28:26):
He is, and I'm not dismissing that at all. He's great.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
It's also the case though, that like that Steelers team,
they put everybody in the Hall of Fame off that
Steelers team.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
I think they got like ten people in the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
That was kind of during the time, sort of like
at UK basketball when we put all those people in
the fifty all Cum's friends, as you said, in the
Hall of Fame. They've kind of done that with that
Steelers team.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
Over the years, and that's all still what he did
in the pros. I'm trying to do Uk Mount Rushmore.
I think Josh Allen, if you look at his accolte,
he won every possible award you could win. He was
unanimous All American, every defensive trophy you can win, SEC
Defensive Player of the Year. I think he might be
the number one lock of any of them.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yeah, I'm amazed how considering how recent he is, how
much pushback I got on social media for Josh Allen.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
I don't even think Josh Allen is kind of a debate.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
I mean, if you were to say to me, I
bet you if Mark Stoops was sitting here and I said, Mark,
who's the best player you've had, wouldn't he say Josh Allen?

Speaker 6 (29:29):
And I don't think that. He almost certainly would say
Josh Allen. Maybe Lynn Bowden because of just the unique
what he did here.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Maybe, but I think you would say Josh Allen. And
I think, you know, we've never had a Heisman winner,
but we've had one National Defensive Player of the Year
winner and it's him, So how could you not put
him on it, right, and then Tim Couch was second
in the.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
High Cosmon conversation.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
I mean those two guys, and then Art still obviously
has all those accolades and also was.

Speaker 6 (30:00):
So for me, those three kind of stick out.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
And I think there might be some people that may
try to argue, maybe Bear Bryant, maybe put a coach
up there.

Speaker 6 (30:09):
Well, if I include coaches, then he's certainly up there.
I don't.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
I don't include coaches necessarily, but if I did, I
think he would definitely be the fourth.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
So who would you bump off if you include him?

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Well, I don't have a definitive fourth one, because I
you know, I can even I can be talked in.

Speaker 6 (30:28):
I could be talked into Randall Cobb. I might go
Cob next.

Speaker 7 (30:32):
I think Benny's hurt by Chris Rodriguez coming right behind
him and have an identical stretch.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
And he's also probably hurt by the fact that we
had the greatest offensive line in our history during that
That was part of it. Yeah, I mean, what's the
case for Benny Snell but not Chris Rodriguez?

Speaker 6 (30:49):
Is there one? I mean, Chris Rodriguez broke off his records.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
And then Ray Davis broke that touchdown record.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
So yeah, I don't know, but I feel very good
about my three three. He should be on everybody's Who's
up next?

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Jim, Jim, go ahead, Jim.

Speaker 13 (31:05):
Hey, guys, I don't know if you've addressed it yet,
but the announced team for our game against Toledo on
the SEC network as Taylor Zarza and Matt Stink. Matt
Stinchcombe was one of my favorite duos.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
Yes, we've had them a bunch of hard years. I
think they do a really good job actually, and Alyssa Lane.

Speaker 13 (31:26):
Yeah, and as far as Bob Gain, he was the
first Outland Trophy winner in the SEC, so you have
to have consideration. And yeah, I like your other three
picks though very well.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
Appreciate it all right, Then I would throw him in
there too.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
I mean, if we're going to put Dermani in, then
I think we probably would have to put Bob Gain
because even though I don't know a lot about him,
in terms of accolades, he has to be towards the top.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Right. His accolades at Kentucky were actually better than Dermani's
acolades just at Kentucky.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
Just just if you're just looking at Kentucky You're You're
exactly right. Corn Bred Hemp one of our major sponsors.
Here at KSR corn Bread Hemp, full spectrum, flower only
Hemp CBDs. They got gummies, They got everything you want,
and the seltzers are flying off the shelves. Shannon is
currently breaking into my house to take more. You go

(32:17):
to cornbreadhimp dot com. What are your favorite flavors on that?

Speaker 6 (32:21):
Oh, blueberry breeze for me, some at watermelon, and you
like the peacht peacht is my favorite?

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Right that?

Speaker 5 (32:27):
Three people, three different winners there at Cornbread, Hemp and
cornbreadthimp dot com.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
Go check them out with our good friends. This is
the good life.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
It is wings day dollar wings all day and night
here here at Cornbread or here at kspar and Grill.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio. This is like your favorite
song and are one of your favorite songs?

Speaker 2 (32:48):
No?

Speaker 7 (32:48):
But okay, well sure can we We can ask When
I was younger, I guess when I'm listening to my
nineties country as a kid, some.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Reason, I always think of this with you. I think
of this and uh excu.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
Alibus when I used to get naked too, That's probably
the one you were thinking.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
Of, Yeah, that wasn't That wasn't exactly what I thought
of when I thought of you on it.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
And the people that don't know that story now are
wondering what it is. Letave it at that.

Speaker 6 (33:09):
And then there was the one that, uh uh, wow,
what's its name? You hated it?

Speaker 5 (33:14):
And then you Billy the kid, Billy the kid, that's
really kid. I had some other suggestions here for that
fourth spot. Sonny Collins, Goodwin, good choice, Derrick Ramsey.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Him and Arch Steele were the best of that time period.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Multiple picks for Max Stuffy. I. You know, if you're
just talking about who I like, I would pick Mac Stuffy.
You can't pick a punter though, like they don't they
don't do enough things. But if you're just talking about
people who won National Player of the Year at their position,
we have two, we have three, Bob Gain, Josh Allen
and Max Stuffie.

Speaker 6 (33:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
I do like our four of Arch Steel from the seventies,
Jmani from the eighties, Tim Couch from the nineties, and
Josh Allen then from the two thousands. I kind of
liked that we spread it out like that. Those four, uh,
I think are best picks.

Speaker 7 (33:59):
It really just shows how pack the tradition is over
there that you can't think of four players to put
up there, just so many of the shoes from.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Well, it's interesting because it it's it's almost not balanced
in the sense of like you know, it's it's you
got this top little group and then there's like a
bunch of people. You know, we didn't even mention Lynn Bowden,
and I mean you mentioned that Stupis likes him, but
I mean you there's a case considering all the things
he did that like, it's it's a lot. And we

(34:26):
didn't mention Andre Woodson, another guy who was very very good,
great season.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Coach Brooks could probably even get a little conversation in there.
And we're gonna go who is your top your mount
rushmore guys? You like you said Max's.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Well, okay, so you're talking about my just favorite four
people that played at Kentucky football. Max is certainly probably
number one, Jared, Max and Jared are one or one one.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
A uh.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I take those two and Dante and Dane.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Okay, well you I'll take you no way. Freddy?

Speaker 5 (35:01):
All right, So yeah, we're so we're going Max, Jared,
Freddy and then give me one more. I take Max,
Jared and Freddy. You talk about going out and having fun.
That's a good Max, Jared and Freddy would be a
go out and have just about the most amount of
fun you could have. I mean, that would be pretty good.
And then I really like Benny Snaell a lot. I

(35:23):
mean when he was here, he had a great personality.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Cash has done a lot of stuff with us.

Speaker 6 (35:29):
He has.

Speaker 7 (35:29):
Yeah, I thought Tim Couch was God for a few
years ago, So I'd go Tim Couch, Max, Freddie, jareded
You're going Tim Couch one man. Well, I didn't, and
that was no particular order. I'm just saying that's my four.
But when they were air raiding and I was a kid,
I didn't think there was a better athlete on the planet.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
So I gotta go Freddy Jared, Max Dante.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Okay, I I think I'll go Freddy Jared, Max Hm.
I don't know that other one's kind of tough. I'm
trying to think who who?

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I think who've done the show with us?

Speaker 5 (36:03):
I mean, if you just talk leave aside personality and
who was the most fun. I've never had more fun
watching a person than watching Lyn Bowden, because you just
didn't know what he.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
Was gonna do.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
I mean, in any given moment, something crazy could happen.
And I love that you pick Vince. Yeah, if we
canna pick coaches, he would certainly. But he's on Louisville.
If I my Mount Rushmore, I cut his head off
when it goes to Louisville.

Speaker 6 (36:27):
If he's up there on the mountain, we're bringing him down.
I don't know how we do that, but we'll figure
it out. We will. Who's next, Jeff, Jeff, go ahead, Jeff.

Speaker 8 (36:36):
Man, I ain't gonna wow.

Speaker 6 (36:37):
I did laugh out. Yeah, well, you were the one.

Speaker 8 (36:43):
The reason I was calling.

Speaker 13 (36:44):
I want to talk about the Paul pick a ball
sha and picking his own.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
Oh wait a minute, did you pick? You made sure
to pick somebody who're gonna beat Shannon.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Of course, it's like Kentucky football.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
You gotta play some Eastern Michigans before you.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Play in Georgia, right, I mean that's what that's what
I'm doing. Oh okay, I pick somebody could beat me.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
Interesting. I didn't know you were doing that.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
All right ahead of that.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
I appreciate the call. All right, So between you two
that you're playing today, who's better?

Speaker 7 (37:16):
Like I mean, if we're being serious, Shannon has played right. Yeah,
I even know how to play before.

Speaker 6 (37:23):
But you were a tennis player.

Speaker 7 (37:25):
Well, my career record zero zero because I broke my
ankle on the day of my first match.

Speaker 6 (37:29):
Oh okay, Well, then I did the whole preseason.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
I earned spot number two for Madisonville and then shattered
Minkle playing basketball on lunch break.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (37:37):
I mean, if we're setting odds, I like talking trash
and I'm gonna leave it all on the field. But
if we're setting odds, Shannon's a favorite. I mean, I
don't even I don't even know if he's in a
racket a paddle. I don't even know what I'm hitting
to prol Okay, I'm new to it, but he'll lose.

Speaker 6 (37:50):
By the way. Uh, the sprint has changed a lot.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
On the Toledo Kentucky game, it was seven and it's
now up to nine and a half and in one
book ten and a half, so a lot of money.
One sort of big time gambler said he wondered if
Toledo would even score a touchdown, said that their offense
is not that he doesn't understand where all the love's
coming from, because they don't have an offense.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 7 (38:15):
When the moment it got to seven and a half,
I bet it at nine and a half for plus money,
and I'm not done with it, but I'm gonna bet
it at thirteen and a half, probably seventeen ish all
the way up to twenty. I'll probably stop at nineteen
and a half, but I'm gonna have like staggered lines
for odds because I am as it gets closer. And
I'm even one of the ones that said don't sleep
on this team. I'm thinking they're gonna be all right,
and probably more than all right.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
I think it could be a whooping.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
I think it was all the talk we had about
the Toledo Heisman Trophy for it.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
But seriously, are you I mean, do you think they're
going to this sort of late move that they're not
gonna be able to score?

Speaker 6 (38:49):
Do you think that's that there's anything to that?

Speaker 2 (38:52):
I think that a Kentucky's defense will shut them down
quite a bit. That's the Kentucky strength of this team
is their defense. They'll be able to shut down SEC.
So yeah, I definitely think they'll shut down a Toledo team.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
And we said earlier.

Speaker 7 (39:03):
The difference is the offensive line in these games. If
Kentucky's offensive line is what we wanted to be, and
you know, bush shit, it's going back to old school.
They should push Toledo around. If they don't, I think
we have longer term problems than Week one.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
It is funny to me how nothing can happen and
vibes change so immensely.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
You know, there's no news, nothing has occurred.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
The line was at thirteen and a half, it went
to seven and a half based on nothing, and now
it's up to nine and a half or ten and
a half based on nothing. Like people's vibes can just
change that much and there's no news for either team
of substance. I think it went to seven and a
half because it was a very popular. All these podcasts
are doing their predictions, and if you look at Week one,

(39:51):
it really is. If you're just looking at names and logos,
it would be one you'd pick as an upset a
MAC favorite playing a Kentucky team that's won four games.

Speaker 6 (39:59):
A year ago. Well you don't even have to know
the rosters.

Speaker 7 (40:01):
That's people are picking that as an upset one, and
I think that changed the numbers a little bit.

Speaker 6 (40:05):
Who's next, Let's go to Mike, Mike, go ahead, Mike, Hey.

Speaker 14 (40:11):
Matt getting back to Dairy Queen to go to or
the one and there's two that I know of in Kentucky.
It's a walk up window. They don't serve all the food.
There's one in Murray. They serve chili dogs. Yes, but yeah,
you just walk up to the window. And it's seasonal.
So it opens in March, closes at the end of October.

(40:35):
And uh, you know, being frum down there, it's all
over at a big event. It's all everyone talks about
on your Facebook feeds. But yeah, if you ever get
down to one of them, Kroger's the other, or Dairy
Queen the other one in Cunnington, I.

Speaker 6 (40:46):
Would like a walk up one. And then the one
in Flemingsburg. We've been to that. That's the one that
is always very very good.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
They had home style breakfast. Then we're up there. Apparently
the one of Paintsfield gets We've got to give them
some love over the years too.

Speaker 7 (40:59):
The it's chili sauce there, right, very Queen of all
places seems the most to just let their franchise or
logo off script you'll make whatever you want.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
Let me ask you a question of the folks who
can hear me. There's a lot of people in here
who can't. Everybody. Everybody feel like Kentucky's winning Saturday. Is
there anybody that's legitimately really nervous about it?

Speaker 6 (41:22):
That's good?

Speaker 5 (41:22):
Yeah, it does seem like the fan base is getting
more confidence as we get closer.

Speaker 6 (41:29):
I hope it is, because it feels like it is.

Speaker 7 (41:32):
I needed to be reminded that they beat Ohio forty
one to six with a team that's worse than this
one last year, and that in Week one, when Bush
Hampden didn't have a full offseason, they were scoring it
will before that lightning strike against Southern Mists. So they
have handled their non conference opponents a little better than
they did in the early Stoops years.

Speaker 6 (41:49):
Yeah, that is important to remember.

Speaker 5 (41:51):
