Hour number two. Kentucky Sports Radio shout out Bobby Parry.
But we're doing the Bobby Perry Bands.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
History, are you guys doing?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh so, somebody back at the station must have reswitched
our access in a channing because we were hearing a commercial.
It was definitely a Louisville based station. Oh yeah, we
heard now yeah Mario Mario Maitland joined it. So somebody
Tom Jurich must have snuck into the iHeart Building try
to sabotage our show this morning channing.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
I don't know what was going on, but the music
was playing and you guys were talking about the Bobby
Perry Band, and I'm going I don't think these.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
No, we didn't. We were hearing a commercial about for
w l k Y. The important thing is Shannon didn't
yell at me this time. That's true.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
I'm just good.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Oh no, no, I was yelling you guys just couldn't
hear me.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
We did not hear you at all.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Didn't hear him one time, didn't.
Speaker 7 (01:14):
The commercial was just playing in the background and we
were just talking about Bobby Parry.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
The show goes on at eleven o three, so when
it's eleven oh five.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
We definitely knew because we asked that.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Maybe you should call and see what's going on.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
We were talking about the Bobby Perry band.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
We're trying to call Ryan's phone. Ryan wasn't answering a churuse.
What did you call me?
Speaker 6 (01:32):
You didn't even know you called.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I'm glad we weren't. I'm glad we weren't further discussing
your your plans with yoga girls. So that's good. I'm glad.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
That is very true. I tried invited Shannon too my house.
You could understand the hotel. You stay at my house tonight?
Speaker 6 (01:45):
Yeah, I forgot. We were on the radio show.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
For so anyway, shout out Bobby Perry. See I have
a bp B shirt on you. Guys asked me, what
the heck is that Bobby Perry band. They're now the
Commonwealth Band, but for many years they were the Bobby
Pear And Mario goes, who's Bobby Perry? That's okay. Mario's
a young guy, he said, yes, I'm a young folk man.
(02:07):
You're a young guy.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
Good to see you, though. Man, I've seen you everywhere.
Speaker 7 (02:10):
Man, I was I saw you were hosting every Day
Kentucky the other day.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
How was that, you know, I'm trying to I'm trying
to branch out, trying to I was talking like nonsports topics.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
Yeah, a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Ky, which is a little different. I got to talk
about current events and stuff like that. So now here
today you wear a lot of hats. Yeah, I'm gonna
talk with Tom Leach.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Tomorrow and branching out.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Oh, you're a regular on the Tom Leech Leach Report,
so I hear you all the time. He's enjoyed talking
to Tom. H We do need to clear up something.
The last collar we had said that Mark Pope tried
to talk to doctor through the surgery, that that that
was in the KSR report on on three. Totally false. Okay,
totally false.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Wait now the guy called back and said that Mark
Pope actually said that in the video. No, I didn't
see the video, did you? Did you see the video
of the interview.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I have not seen the video on the.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Interview, Mario, of you, I haven't seen that part.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
The I think the article says Pope talked to the
doctor but didn't talk him through the surgery. I guess
with felt confident for talking to the doctor he could
do it with his daughter Avery down there in Nel Salvador.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
That makes sense. I mean with his kind of background
that I mean, I think most fathers would want to
talk to the doctor first of all, But then with
Pope's kind of expertise, maybe he was just checking the
guy out, making sure that they were kind of on
the same page.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Eight two eight seven. That's our car's pumpagh out phone number.
We have added Mario Maitland here with Lee K. Howard
and Shannon the Dude. A couple couple of topics. Let's
hit them before we go shift back into basketball. Shannon,
I guess as you need to answer.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
This one first. There's a new show on Netflix called
Unknown Number. It's about cat fishing. Billy was trying to
get Shannon to watch it.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I haven't watched it yet.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
It's about catfishing.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
I watched it last night. It's freaky. I mean, it's
definitely worth it. I don't know. I can't spoil it
for you.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Can I get your log in? Because I don't have Netflix.
That's one of the reasons.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Sure, yeah, Netflix doesn't care.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
It's going to put that on the air too.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
While you're talking about the Bobby Perry bands going their
out everything.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Else you got, Well, have you seen it? Are you
know anything about it? It's a true story that happened
in Michigan about some high school kids getting catfished, and
I wish we could talk about with somebody because it's
it's freaky.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Well give us I can't.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I don't want to give it away.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
Yeah, I tell you what, We'll watch it tonight. You
give me your log in for Netflix. I'll watch tonight
while I'm at the day.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
If you stay at my house, you're just gonna stay
at my house tonight. It's gonna be right there.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Oh yeah, okay, I'll do that. Then that's fun.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Is it a series or it is just a just
one show. It's a documentary, but it's only like one episode.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
Oh one episode?
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, wow, you watch it on one episode? What was it?
I'm blanking the name of the Notre Dame football player for.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Men Ti tale. Yeah, who got catfished for over a year,
fell in love with a woman just via on social
media contact turned out to be a guy in like
Kansas or something.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
What else is there to do in Kansas? You know,
let's cat vis a guy from Notre Dame.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Wow, this sucks all right?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Eight five nine, two two to eighty seven. Got to
talk about Sidney McLaughlin. Oh oh, legend, Sidney McLaughlin is
gonna end up being the best athlete ever to wear
the Blue and White. And I don't Eve think it's
gonna be clothes. She now is the fastest woman in
the world in two of the hardest events ever, Legend.
The four hundred hurdles is considered the hardest event in
(05:31):
track and field. She smashed every American record, every US record.
So if that's not good enough, then she just starts
running the four hundred meters, breaks the American record this week.
I mean she is going she will be remembered as
the greatest athlete in the history of the University of Kentucky.
I think her record, the American record that she broke
the other day, was like forty eight point two nine seconds,
(05:53):
And I was watching the race and it looked like
she let up a little bit. I Mean, that's the
thing about when you watch her, it looks like she's
out there competing with a bunch of like JV athletes.
I mean, she's like to run and these are world
class athletes, and there's the other athletes at.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
A different level in the world level. She's definitely on
a different level.
Speaker 7 (06:10):
I can't believe she went here like she's from, Like
she's went to the University of Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Man like I went to school with Thirsty No.
Speaker 7 (06:16):
I think that's cool, and I was I got a
chance to go with go to school with Sidney McLoughlin.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
I can say that.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Well, they kind of became hurtle you there for a while.
Some of the Olympic champions were hurtlers that came through UK.
She was at the forefront of it. Yeah, Kenny Harrison
was another one who's uh, who's done really well. Jasmine
Camacho Quinn. I think she ran in the Olympics for
the Puerto Rico, I believe. But yeah, Sidney McLoughlin, I
think back at like some of the interviews that I've
been able to do with athletes at UK over the years,
(06:44):
and she might be at the top of the list.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I got to do just a one on one interview
with her in her year that she was at Kentucky
and she was smashing SEC records and college college track
and field records, and that is just continued and that
The crazy thing now is like it's almost like she's
challenging herself. She's got two gold medals in the four
hundred hurdles, she has two gold medals into four by
four hundred relay. Yeah, and now she's on her way
(07:09):
to setting the world record in the four hundred open.
I mean, I think at this point she needs to
take on like javelin and pole vault and really challenge, challenge.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Yourself, challenge tristic.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Can we talk about like just track and field the
program itself at UK, like how big it's gotten, Like
we talk about volleyball, we talk about baseball, basketball and football,
of course, but track and field is kind of like
under a I mean, Messiah Russell, Sidney McLoughlin, Ashley Holmes.
I believe she participated in the Olympics as well, and
then you could look at the guys side as well.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
We have a lot of guys that went through the
track and field program.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
I feel like that Kentucky Athletics has done a great
job with the UK track and field program and doesn't
really get talked about a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Here's my question for you, Ryan. Do you think a
race between you and Sidney McLoughlin, if you ran the
one hundred and she ran the four hundred, who's finishing first?
I would win at one hundred? Okay, what about two hundred?
I could probably make it an under thirty second.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
You would not win at one hundred one out.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
No, you run like fifteen to six second. I used
to run.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
My best time was eleven point three I think when
I was in high school. Of course that was forty
years ago.
Speaker 6 (08:15):
Yeah, you wouldn't do it.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
What about the two hundred, That might be two hundred.
I could run it in probably thirty thirty five seconds. Hey, no,
so we gotta the race is three quarters three, she
runs the full four.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
Hundred, and he's beating him. Yeah, I think so, because
she's regardless of what he's doing.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
She's gonna run a sub forty eight I think on
Thursday in the final. So I can you you can
run a two hundred. I can run a two hundred
and thirty thirty five seconds. No, oh yeah, no, yeah.
But if we're talking about a three, we's called it
three thirty. I guess probably a three hundred meters.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
I would love to see you sprint. Yeah, we gotta,
we gotta do a video.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
You want little chubby, little white guy running down the track.
He's got some wheels. But you mentioned the UK Track
and Field.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
You know, only got the new complex over there, the
new field house, they got all the they're putting a
lot of money into the program because it has developed
into one of the best programs on campus that we
don't talk about.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
Don't talk about it enough.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Man.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
They've definitely doing big things over there at the track
and field program.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well, she was just inducted into the Hall of Fame.
I think was it last year. Yeah, she was here.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
She was inducted into the Hall of Fame. So she
continues to help support UK. They'll use her in recruiting
for years and years to come.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
She's the face of UK track she and she may
end up being.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
The face of UK athletics period.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
Yeah that's the fact.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
I literally, I literally said on my sports cast yesterday
that when we think of the most dominant athletes to
ever compete at the University of Kentucky, it's hard to
find one that is more dominant in their sports.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yeah, that's that's true. So let's just spitball it. Who
would be in the argument some of the best athletes
ever at Kentucky. I don't even thought about this, but
I know one that comes to mind way before all
of our times. But jaile Wah Jones played football, basketball
and baseball, and I believe played professional football and professional basketball.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
When was it late forties? Oh good, late forties, forties
before even I was born.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Does that really count?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
But think about it, even in the forties he played
professional basketball and professional football, Right, So Wall's got to
be on the list. Yeah, And you know, there's plenty
of basketball players that were dominant in their sport, like
you Obviously the year that Anthony Davis had he was dominant.
Dan Essel was was dominant. But you know, I'm just
trying to think of like athletes that were just dominant
(10:31):
in their field. Not only you know, John wall is
the fastest dude I've ever seen from baseline to baseline.
Speaker 7 (10:36):
I wish, I wish I would have got a chance
to see him in person.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
It was on TV. He looked fast. I can only
imagine what he looked like in.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
I Got One for You. I just thought of. Shane
Boyd was a starting quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats in
the SEC and also got drafted by the Minnesota Twins
in baseball.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
How about that one.
Speaker 6 (10:53):
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
We're just saying, like overall great athletes, someone's gonna call
someone's gonna call in and tell us who we're missing.
I guess Roto is trying to be an all star
quarterback in a flag football.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
Yeah, he looked pretty good.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
He was a stud quarterback in high school. He played
quarterback in high school. Anthony's played quarterback in high school.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Yeah, a lot of it. You see a lot of
like basketball football. That seems like a natural crossover. Yeah,
it seems like a natural thing. Like Tim Couch was
a great basketball player in high school.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
He played basketball too. I didn't know that.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Yeah, he led the state in scoring as a junior
at like thirty five points a game, man, and didn't
even play basketball his senior year.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
That's crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
If he did, he would have probably won Mister Football
and Mister Basketbasketball if he played basketball.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Yeah, you know what. By the way, Kentucky's got the
quarterback kid from a Moler Ponitowski. Yes, next year baseball stud.
He was baseball in football stud. Yeah, I think he
was mister football in uh, mister baseball and mister football
as as a junior.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Oh wow, no kidding, yea, yeah, all right, Well, if
you got a suggestion for somebody we can't think of,
give us a call. Eight five, nine, two to eighty seven, Ryan,
Shannon Lee k and we've got Mario for the hour.
I here on KA taking sports radio. Little Sean Cassidy
one more time. You love this stuff, Mario, Little Sean Cassidy.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
This is a good song.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Do you know the song?
Speaker 6 (12:09):
Yeah, I do. This plays in a lot of movies.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Well, Shannon brought the point he's probably wasn't the first
guy to sing this song. I think this is probably
a cover, Shannon, is my guess.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Yeah, I think this is an older song in the seventies.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
But I'll be sitting there rocking. I'll be in this
in my seat, standing up, snapping my fingers doing the
White Man Dance, the White Man Overbye dance.
Speaker 7 (12:27):
I could tell he's so happy today because it's the
yoga girl's birthday.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
He has a little pepp in his step here.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, I even shaved this morning. I've been up since
seven thirty. I thought you looked good. Thank you. You
always look good.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (12:37):

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Oh right. I got a couple other good athletes in
UK sports history Bookie Jones, quarterback on the football team,
played on the baseball team. That's a good one.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Jenny Hanson in the nineties, she was the best gymnast
in all of college gymnastics. She won the all around title.
Speaker 9 (13:49):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
She definitely got to be one of one of the top.
And then somebody suggested Linn Boat.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
Lin Boat and yeah for you forgotten about.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah yeah, Because he was a basket big basketball player
in high school.
Speaker 7 (13:59):
I played him multi full times in basketball. Yeah, he's
he's legit.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
He can play.
Speaker 6 (14:03):
He can play.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Someone text me and say, for his size, Jared Lorenzen,
that's a great choice, just an.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Athlete, because Jared always said if he'd stayed with baseball,
he would have got drafted as a pitcher, because you know,
you got a cannon for an arm. He led Fort
Thomas Highlands to the Sweet sixteen semifinals, I think in basketball,
and then of course why he did in football.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
That's really we should have thought of him first. Yeah,
he's kind of like a unicorn in the way that
the way he moved, yeh yeah, the way he moved
and he played that position. So I guess we can
announce now, Mario Monday.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
You scare me when you say that.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Monday Shannon, Shannon knows this. I think we're doing the
show at Fort Thomas Highlands High School, Jared Lorenz's alma mater,
because his son is now a football star at Fort
Thomas Highlands.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Tate Lorenzo, No, you know, I did not know that.
You didn't tell me that.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Well, secrets out. It's not a public show. You can't
come to the school watch the show. But we're gonna
go up there do.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
The show up.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
We can talk to Taydan and catch up with him
a little bit because he's he's really having a good
season this year for Fort Thomas Islands. And it's cool
too because he wears number twenty two, yes, like his dad.
And we see some of the big kids. I've seen
some of the highlights, so yeah, he's a big kid,
but he moves since it's the same kind of like
his that yeah kind of like I mean, it's it's
pretty neat to see. By the way. We talked about
this while ago. Ryan, remember do you remember when you
(15:22):
and I did a photo shoot with Jared years ago.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I don't know why they picked Lee K Howard, me
Jo Lorenzen, and dead Air Dennis go to a photo
shoot for like a triathlon contest of some sort outside
at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I still don't know why we were invited to, like
talk about it either. Four awkward dudes and lit'sten like
we were grouped together for a photo shoot and I
don't even know. I don't know if it helped them
promote their events or if they were just I don't know.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
There are some great photos out there. Maybe Corey Price
can find because they are some great foak.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
How long ago is this.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
It's had to be over fifteen years ago.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
I have to I have to see it.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, because you like jumped on Jared's shoulder. Yeah, And
we had one picture that they used to like in
a magazine or something and it looked like the album
cover of a really bad rock band.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Good rock band. I don't know it was bad, but yeah,
I have to see that. Yeah, eight five, nine, two
two eight ten. We got some phone calls.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Who we got Channon Hunter? Hunter? Go ahead, Hunter?
Speaker 8 (16:28):
Hey, Ryn.
Speaker 10 (16:28):
First off, I think you do a great job whenever
you get the chance to host.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Appreciate that.
Speaker 10 (16:35):
I've got a statement for football, but it's also kind
of like a disagree, agree or whatever. If Cutter gets
to start the next ten games, or if he will
start king games, I believe that his stats all across
the board will be better than arc Man's twelve games
(16:57):
not noted down arch. I think he's got a lot
of pressure, but I think it's a praise the Cutter's
confident and just stepping up there and being a playmaker.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Well, leak, if that is what's gonna happen, he's gonna
surprise if people win some games they probably shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, and I think the the upside for Cutter is great,
and I think that's why that the staff has decided
at this point to go with him. They've not said it,
but I do think that Cutter is kind of the
quarterback going forward. And he's a guy who's not afraid
to make mistakes.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
So confident.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah, he's a confident kid. So if he can get
in there, make the passes, you know, limit the turnovers,
maybe he does end up with a better season than Arch.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
I think he just needs reps. He needs in game rep.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
That's why they left him in so long against Eastern Michigan,
just to get some reps.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
Yeah, he needs to play, but yeah, he's confident. Dude.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Man, who's up next, Shannon, Let's go to Bob. Bob,
go ahead, Bob.
Speaker 8 (17:49):
Good morning, guys, it's getting back to my days and now.
Back in fifty years ago, we had an all around
player came out of Louisville, Kenny Cohon. He was an
all stater in three sports. He could have went to
any major in college. And I don't read today about
(18:12):
anybody's being and all around sports. Even we're specialized. But
he got drafted in the majors right out of high
school in the baseball and uh played with Indians and
he set two years behind the move with drill.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
And we believe you, Bob, I don't doubt you.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Uh, what was it?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
What was the guy's name again? Kenny Cohon Kenny Khon.
Speaker 8 (18:36):
Came out back in the fifties.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Okay, all right, we'll look him up.
Speaker 8 (18:43):
Three sports athletes.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
I appreciated, Bob, Bob dry They just don't you specialize now,
even the good kids in high school don't even play
the other other sports they like in high school though,
I did see though, Tailing not Kaitlyn Kenny. Uh, the
kid out in California. He's gonna play football. The number
one recruit in the class. Is it Stokes? Tyron Stokes? Yeah,
he's from Louisville, Tyrann Stokes. Is he gonna play They
(19:07):
say he's gonna play football this year and he's the
number one recruit in America for basketball.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
I don't know about that. I feel like he's made
it and then basketball and why not keep it going?
Speaker 9 (19:16):
Right?
Speaker 6 (19:16):
Yeah, maybe he wants to experience for different sports.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
You know, you grew up with your buddies and they're
out there playing football, you want to play they also,
I think. I mean when I was in high school,
we all played all the sports. Yeah, I mean, any
sport that you could make the team, you would play.
And now it's all specialized. And I have a son
who's in first grade, and a lot of those kids
are like almost specialized. They're playing year round baseball or
year round yeah whatever. But that's when you see him
(19:41):
get burned out by the time they get to high school. Like, man,
I'm done playing. I've been traveling for years.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
I do regret that I was the only strictly basketball
I've ever tried football or anything like that. So yeah,
I agree, you should definitely try the sports.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Well we got to just a minute, but I do
want to though. We mentioned Tyland Kenney. He's at Arkansas
today visit thing with John Cali Perry. Everybody thought he
was gonna be a lean to Kentucky or Louisville, Kansas
is kind of snuck in there recently, but now he's
at Arkansas today and he makes his announcement. I think
like next week, the twenty eighth, I think is that
it the twenty eighth.
Speaker 6 (20:13):
Think it is the twenty eighth. Yeah, you think Kyle
steals him.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
I won't be shocked. I mean, Tyland Kenny grew up
in Newport, Kentucky, when Kyle was during his heyday. Tyland
Kenny's been in this bar. I've talked to him in
here before. So Mario, is he the sixth seventh?
Speaker 6 (20:28):
He's the sixth six seven six seven six seven.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
So all right, we'll take our break. Come back, Ryan, Shannon,
the Dude, Mario and Lee K. Howard right here on
Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (21:12):

rooftops of a lot of buildings downtown right now at
this moment, there is somebody had took has taken their
like towels or clothes and spelled out all yorn on
the rooftop. It's the it's the guy the rooftop that
has the pool. Have you seen like these little inflatable

Speaker 2 (21:31):

Speaker 4 (21:32):
I think so, I think so, Yeah, well the pool
is gone, but he's spelled out all yorn, all your
happening right now.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
It was there yesterday a picture.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
I must have missed it.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I do have a picture of it using what now clothes?
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Use it clothes. I'll tweet it out.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
Tweet it out.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
You should do that for yoga girls to night for
a birthday.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
All yorn, all yorn, Shannon, I really liked that idea.
Speaker 4 (21:55):

and I'm still not a horse guy. I think Keenland's
one of the most overrated things in America. Keeenland's awesome.
You gotta wait in line to park. You gotta park.
You gotta to wait in line to take a trolley.
You gotta wait in line, news bathroom. You gotta waiting

Speaker 6 (24:30):
You just hate the things that the little things you like.
The actual race though, don't you.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
I like watching the race, but there's like, what you know,
forty five minutes between races, and what are you gonna do?
You're gonna stand in line, stand in line for this.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I can't buy a twenty dollars drink by.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
A twenty dollars drink. That's exactly right. One thing here
real quick, Shannon, you and Mario. Since I won't be
with you guys tomorrow, I do want you guys to
hold Ryan to reporting on how the date with Yoga
Girl went. Oh yeah, yeah, sure up, Okay, Well, I'm
sure I'll be really tired when the show of tomorrow

You got to carry the ship.
Speaker 2 (25:04):

about that before we get out of the show. But
everybody in the Mount Vernon area, rock Castle County, we're

tickets to give away too.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
And you got a few fun ideas that I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
We're gonna be We're gonna try something. We're gonna try
some new ideas out there for everybody to show. Uh.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
I do want to get on a couple of things
that they the Fill of sixty eight guys talked about
from the basketball practice before this show's over, which way
somebody set on the a visy and glass tech machine.
How the hell you been on an hour acting like
you watched the Field of sixty eight video and you
haven't watched it. I watched the Jack Pilgrim video, the
sources say video. I didn't watch Goodman's video.
Speaker 7 (25:38):
Goodman's video is really long. So the Field of sixty days,
it's like an hour and fifty three minutes for the.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
That's a long time. Jack Pilgrims was like twenty nine minutes.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
Yeah, yeah, I've seen Jack's, but Goodman's I've seen about
half of it. Yeah. I saw the otego Otago that
was really saw that.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
I saw that part of the field.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
I guess on the Goodman dostri interview, that's where maybe
coach Pope said something the surgery.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
Yeah, yeah, a lot a lot of good news in
that interview.
Speaker 9 (26:03):
All right.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Uh, they talked a lot about Jake Jaden Quainton's Jake
Q huge.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
Did you see him on the Live Street? He looked,
doesn't he look Biggerly?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Well, I was gonna say, the one or two times
that I've seen him in person, he looks big to
begin with, So now I'm trying to picture him even biggigger.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Yeah, huge, they were, you know, the word was he'd
put on forty pounds. Goodman and dost don't doubt it
at all. He said he's gotten that much bigger.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
He looks big.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
Jasper speaking of pounds, Jasper Johnson, he's won ninety now
at jacks, so.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
He needed he needed to get more physical, bigger, stronger.
So that's just something and they work on you once
you get the get on campus. And we've seen these
guys over the years that once they get on campus,
how they changed their body because they're not only lifting
weights obviously, but they're also changing their they're eating habits
and what they're doing. And you know, at my agent's
easy to put on forty pounds, but it's not the
good kind of forty pounds.
Speaker 9 (26:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:52):
Yeah, yeah, I love the way the Mark Pope basically
he was talking a little bit about Louisville in an
interview and he said that Louisville or I guess Goodman
was saying it, Louisville and Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
Both can be final four teams. Yeah, and I agree
with that.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
I agree with that.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
Goodman said right there where you were at Leak and
said they both it's final four or bust for those
two teams.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Yeah. I mean the way that both of those that
Pat Kelsey and and Mark Pope have recruited, it's it's fun.
Like I know that people don't want to see Louisville
have success, but it's great for the sport when when
both teams, you know how many years years ago was
that when they met in the final four. I mean
that was crazy.
Speaker 9 (27:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
So I mean when when Louisville is good, it makes
that rivalry.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
How are we feeling about the matchup in November versus Louisville?
Are we feeling this?
Speaker 4 (27:35):
First of all, I hate it that it's early November,
I mean before the football game for crying.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
I don't like it. I don't like it at all
that they moved it up the early November. Yeah, and
I don't think there's a chance that they have Jayden
at that point. I still think it's further down the road,
maybe December before Quainton's actually steps on the floor. But
I have seen pictures of him out there doing like
non contact stuff, so it's good to see he's at
least out there on the floor.
Speaker 7 (27:56):
Is there a one game that you guys are like, Look,
what's the game you guys are looking forward to the
most out of this season?
Speaker 6 (28:01):
Mine is Louisville. I want to see the Louisville game.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
All right, Mine's going to be different and maybe even
lined with yours. I want to see the Indiana game. Yeah,
at rupp Arena.
Speaker 6 (28:11):
I know Ryan does see.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
That's I grew up in that Kentucky Indiana rivalry man
us old guys Austra Combs talked about in a Lotti
you know when they when it went away. The younger
generation doesn't understand what that rivalry. Yeah, Like my thing
is I grew up, like I said in Texas and
New Mexico. But my distant relatives.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
My grandma is from Indiana, and so I grew up
hearing about the Kentucky Indiana rivalry. Yeah, and I know
that Indiana's not Indiana anymore, and they're not.
Speaker 6 (28:38):
That they'reless though, and your guy right, but they're.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
Not going to be the best team that's going to
Indiana along. What about the Saint John's game in Atlanta?
Speaker 6 (28:46):
Oh, I forgot about that? Is gonna be crazy?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Aren't we going to be at that game? Is that
not going to be our trip?
Speaker 6 (28:52):
That we're road trip?
Speaker 4 (28:53):
That's allegedly our road trip. We're going to go from
Lexington to Atlanta, but veer through Louisiana, Mississippi.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
In Austin, Texas, we're going to Austin, Texas.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Well, Matt's in charge. Of course, we'll probably go to
Austin time.
Speaker 6 (29:04):
I love Austin. I've never been. I've heard good things
about Austin, Texas.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
I'll be at that game too. That's the CBS Sports
Classic game. So yes, So I'm thinking about Jake k
for we get off of him. He did admit that
his chess record against Mark Pope is four and one
I believe he said he's four and one against the chess,
and I think he challenged check check. I was waiting
to hear.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
I was so confused, you know, it's kind of like
checkers check and I think, yes, they challenged Robbed. He
challenged Robbed Auster to a chess match, so like like
he's he's legit good.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
And there they just kept talking about how great a
kid he was and let alone, he's six eleven, gonna
be an NBA basketball player. He's just a great kid.
Speaker 7 (29:45):
Seems like a smart kid too, Man, And all the
interviews that I've seen, even before he got the UK,
when he would get interview out, I've noticed im like
he's very like well spoken, very smart, very smart dude.
Seems like a smart kid.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
The other guy that we really haven't talked about that
they spent a lot of time talking about was Diabate.
So if you're looking at the four, you can go
with the six ten shooter and Yellovich, or you can
go with the toughness rebounder leader in Diabate. And they
I think it was Goodman said they'll probably play both.
But that's two different styles, two different units to put
out there, depending on who plays the four. Yeah, can
(30:18):
you imagine being an opposing team and you're preparing for
Kentucky nightmare and you've got to prepare for yellowch and
Diabate at that position. So, and one thing I think
that last year's Kentucky team was really missing was kind
of that physicalness, that that dog, that guy who just
you know, got in there. They needed that did they did,
(30:39):
And Diabate could.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Be that guy.
Speaker 7 (30:40):
Dan Jaln Lowe. People have said that he's tough too
as a point guard. He's a tough point guard. Yeah,
I haven't seen him play, but at least that's what
I'm hearing from. You know, those interviews yesterday.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Well, if you couldn't help get excited with the interview
that they had, what they did with us yesterday and
then what they did with Jack and the car driving
to the airport, I was cool. They could tell they
were just really impressed with everything they saw practice.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
And I also think this is important to keep in
mind too. Kentucky is gonna be in the mix I
think at the end of the season, and there's not
another just dominant college basketball team this year. Yeah, so
I think it's more wide open. I think there's an
opportunity for Kentucky or Louisville or you know, anybody to
kind of take off and be that number one team
in the country. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
I think they said, like the produced one, Houston's two,
and then there's about five or six teams that are
all kind of about the same. So even though they
had Kentucky ranked what sixth or seventh, they felt like,
you know, it could be five A and five B,
it could be four A and four B. Know, that's
how they're all kind of lumped in together there.
Speaker 6 (31:33):
I really enjoyed that.
Speaker 7 (31:34):
I don't know about you guys, but I enjoyed their
little practice, their their interview at the practice session. You
can see live play in the background. Yeah, I thought
it was really really cool. I love the way that
Jeff Goodman kind of made a comparison. He said, like
Cole's practices is more like tough love compared to the Pope.
He's more like more like positive reinforcement kind of guy.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
That's so I like.
Speaker 7 (31:55):
I like how they set the whole thing up at
that Joe Kraft Center. I thought that was really cool.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
All right, Well, take our final break, come back, our
final segment eight, five, nine, two a two two eight seven, Ryan, Shannon,
Mario and Lee K.
Speaker 2 (32:06):

announced yet. Congratulations well deserved. As soon as Brian Milam
decided to leave, I told Mario some guy said, well,

Speaker 6 (32:19):
He's been saying that before it happened.
Speaker 2 (32:21):

Speaker 2 (33:48):
They never said anything.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
I wish the announcers are a broadcast would have brought
that up. Yeah, let people know that he heed to
play football. Did he play wide receiver? I'm guessing maybe, right.
I guess we have to research that on that because
I never heard anybody talking about him. He's in high
school quarterback are so Willie calls tying a five nine

Speaker 11 (34:46):
Okay. My questions for Shannon, Hey, dude, what do you
think that over under for Ozzy tributes at Louder than
Life this weekend? I think we're somewhere like at least thirty.
Speaker 9 (34:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
Well, there's one hundred and seventy five bands, so thirty
is probably a good number.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Yeah, there will be a lot of those.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Thanks for the call, appreciate it. Eight five nine two
to eighty seven. I just tweeted out the picture of
the All Yorn picture taken from the city center window
overlooking some of the buildings in downtown Lexington. So it's
it's one of the buildings across from the two twin courthouses. Yeah,
but All Yourn using likelylosed. I'm guessing I don't know
(35:29):
really what that is. Did he do this like when
when Tyler was in town? I think he just did
it like yesterday, in the last couple of days. So
I do have another a vision glass text that I.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Need to read. Ryan Lemon with the worst take ever.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
So do you like Derby? You like Kentucky?
Speaker 9 (36:00):

Speaker 3 (36:02):

Speaker 2 (36:04):
My first Derby. They picked everybody slammed me in a
mud puddle. So yeah, I don't like anything about it.

We know Illinois ranked in the top ten. Truth, do

Speaker 9 (36:41):

Speaker 6 (36:58):

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Did he say the right? Okay? Okay, okay, here for
a second, all right? Eight five nine two seven.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Does not cuss. He is never cussed in all the years.
He's never dropped any kind of word. He shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
No, he hasn't. He's even like some sort of a
pastor or something, and he's cho.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
He definitely didn't say that.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Brian Lemonbroh, he's called me that Indiana f Yeah, oh yeah.
He's from Henderson, Kentucky. But he's a big Indiana fank.
He lives I think in Evansville most of the time.
My one Indiana interaction was when I was in junior high.
I was visiting family in Indiana and they took me
to a car dealership and I got Damon Bailey's on.
Oh yeah, that was that was a big deal. Yeah, yeah, big, big, big.
(37:43):
That was when Indiana was was Indian Indiana. And it's
been since then since they were actually good. Well, they've
had a couple of games. I've talked about this before,
where like, you know, Mikes had one year I think,
but yeah, they had the rcadom was half red, half blue.
Those are the days when they were both top ten,
top five programs and was awesome. Did you say we're
about out of time, Shannon, We get a couple more minutes. Okay, go,
(38:03):
we've got another phone call. No, I couldn't hear what
you were saying.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
I didn't say anything.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
