Speaker 2 (00:30):
This is not Matt Jones. This is Drew Franklin filling
in for Matt Jones with my dear friends Ryan Lemon,
Shannon the Dude, Billy r Sports in Super Mario running
around here today and we are at ham Days in Lebanon. Yeahuckey,
one of the best festivals all across the Bluegrass here
here in Marion County. And as always, we are brought
to you by TJ. Smith, personal injury lawyer. Call TJ.

(00:52):
Ryan and what will he make them do?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
He will make them?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Hey right, beautiful wor guys, I'm not used to leading
this voice at a remote I'm Drew. I filled in Tuesday.
I guess for you, Ron Lemon, and I guess We're
just gonna keep rotating until Matt Jones gets back. We
want to hear from the callers as always on the
Clark's Pumping Shop phone line at eight five nine two
two eight seven. And the a Vision glass text machine
is in Ryan's pocket.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I got it right here.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah, look at it.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Do you know the number two seven thirty five thirty
six eighty And in.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Case you forget it, it's on a sticker on the
back of the fill.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
You go, there, we go, beautiful stuff and as always
or not as always today we're sponsored by eleven and
Tourism and Johnny Rocker Law. You're familiar with him from
the pregame shows where Ryan picks the uh Johnny Rocker
role player of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
We're here at Rocking right now.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
That's how they climbed the rock on rocket chair. It
brings their own rock you know, by the way. He
has small town compassion with big city results.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, betiful, you've done that.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Look at that gotty old pop.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Well, as I said, we're here at him days. It
runs September twenty sixth through twenty eight We've been here
a few times, especially last year was a monumental one
as we have our Billy, our sports is going to
do the show with us today, and Billy, I'd be
remiss if I didn't mention last year your you're big,
your big victory here where you beat all of us
in the Haybell Toss and you still carry that trophy
round like it's the Lombardi Trophy.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yah.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
I've only thought about it every day since then. This
is my favorite remote for one reason only, and that
was the Haybell Toss. I still remember jumping into your
arms after my victory drew and it was excited to
do whatever competition that we're gonna do today.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, we got that picture framed a chaos bar me
lifting you up as you you beat mostly Shannon here.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
In the hill who decided to hang that up there?

Speaker 5 (02:33):
That had to be Billy that hung that up there,
because nobody else would do that. And I'm sad because
you're not defending that title.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
What kind of title do you not defend? Radio heavyweight title?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Let's just jump into that. Let's let's just talk about
we have a new trophy here. It says twenty twenty
five on it, but we do not get a shot
at Billy in the haybell toss. Everyone has just decided
he is such a champion he can never be taken down.
But it looks like, according to this trophy, we will
be doing a hog calling competition.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
You were against this now, so have you turned on
it or do you think you're still gonna do it?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Do you want to call the hogs?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I'm on the fence. I got a little bit of
feedback from fans like this is KSR. We can't be
hog calling. Yeah, maybe we just changed the name pig calling?
Can we do That's it?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Is it the same? It says hog right here on
the truck.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
So I don't know how to hit that out, but
we are going to do that at the end of
the show, even if it is just Billy versus Ryan,
because Billy has to continue his dominance here and here
in Lebanon and this will be his next opportunity when
he calls the hogs at the end of the show.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
That's what we do.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
We just change it's the pig calling contest. We can
get a piece of piece of tape, you know what,
a piece of tape, cover that up, put pig on it.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
But apparently.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I don't know what's going on with the Haybel contest,
like controversy down here, little drama going on.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I don't think they want us to talk about.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I don't know. All just makes things up sometimes. Let's
talk about how it's a top ten event in Kentucky.
It includes the Country Ham Breakfast, the Pokey Pig, five
K live music. Shannon, you know what thinking about love music?

Speaker 5 (03:56):
H Yeah, we played here at Alice Blue Gown a
couple of years ago. You're really really cool facility that
they've got the right. Yeah, they shut down like the
little town Square and they put a stage right there,
and we had a great crowd out there, and I
was thinking about actually coming back out here Saturday, so
I may I may be a monkst them out here
today or Saturday.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, on Friday night, you got the Downtown Concert brought
to you by Good Buddies Brewing Saturday night from eight
to eleven, brought to you by Marion County Economic Development.
For more, go to Hamdays dot com. As I said,
We've been here many times, we love it. Has anyone
gotten the Country Hambisky?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Yeah, I really just came to eat, like I'm just
doing a radio show. Secondary I've already had a country
ham biscuit. I had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit
from cedar Wood, which is absolutely delicious. Get some of
that if you you late breakfast food. And I'm a
big fan of it.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
You know, we were just in levit In a couple
of weeks ago at the cornbread hempfields. So we're making
this has been twice in two weeks. You come down here,
We've come like you know, second born citizens here in Lobdon.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Right now, Well, let's see, let's give it a little
love like we do when we go to random cities. Okay,
this one.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
You know, usually you have the athletes. That's pretty easy.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
But I'll still toss to you to brag on the
local athletes from the past.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well, of course he starts and ends with the Epps family,
Anthony Epps, Mikayla Epps, two of the greatest high school
players this state has ever produced, right here in Lebanon.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
But you know one guy I think that gets forgotten
is Elton Scott, who was a year behind Anthony. So
he was on Anthony state championship team, but he won
Mister Basketball the next year. I think he went to
West Virginia but ended up in Louisville like that. So, uh,
those are the top three I think. I always I
heard you talk about somebody.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Named Toothpick, Bobby Toothpick Williams.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I don't know toothpick.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Toothpick is named toothpick because he had a toothpick in
his mouth, not because he was so skinny it looked
like a toothpick.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
I believe he was the first African American All Star
for the k H s AA.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Okay, yeah, gotcha, gotcha, So Toothpick on the list. Also,
you mentioned corn bread.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
We were just there. This is cornbread territory.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
It is, absolutely it is.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
This area is all over it with big Johnny Boone. Also, uh.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Talk about that, right, I suppose to say that either.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
How about another legend from around here, the late Turtleman
Turtle Man, Oh yeah, the wild Man. Did you all
watch called The wild live action?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
I used to watch that all the time. Yeah, Turtleman
was a big, big star around these parts.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
And or Discovery. Yeah, I mean respectfully everyone here. He
would definitely just go put the animal and then go
get it right, and that how it worked.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
Well.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah, see like the raccoon in the garage, he would
plant it.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
Okay, But see, I don't think there's any difference between
you know, you go to a pay lake and you
go fishing right right, you realize those fish get loaded
in by somebody, and then you just go pull them
right back out. I don't think the turtleman was doing
anything different than what you would do if you went
to a lake.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
So I think it was. It was perfectly fair. Well,
I think you started to go in there and get it.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
You start to go grab a snapping turtle with your
two bare hands and pull it out.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
But how did the snapping turtle get into a swimming
pool above ground swimming pool?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
They just got threw him in there. Threw the turtle
in there.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Neil, his good friend Neil on the show, No, probably
threw it in. Also some fun ksr memories from here,
including one last time we did a remote in Lebanon
last summer. Again Matt Jones was gone gallivanting all over
the world.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Was just not like leban I think. I think that's
what it is. Matt doesn't like Lebanon, doesn't like country Ham.
He says, country Ham stinks. I think that's why he's
not here.

Speaker 7 (07:12):
Well.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
I remember our show we did downtown h very well
because moments before we started, Ryan Lemon was in charge
of hosting.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Is that doing now?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
When you're hosting? As you all know what the pre show?
You gotta you gotta have your topics, you gotta drive,
you gotta ready. And we are minutes from going live
and Ryan shows me his phone and his entire phone
had just switched to German. I remember that day, contacts, notes, emails,
and we could not figure out how to get it
back into English.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Everything I had prepared and written down for the day
had been in German, and we none of us knew
how to translate it back. Nobody could figure it out.
We had to just kind of wing it. I remember,
I remember it. I think I went to the AT
and T store and they had to get it back.
Weid it.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Everything was in German. How did that happen? What happened
in my.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Pocket and my phone in my pocket and everything I
translated into German?

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I don't know what happens.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
One of those Lemon pos I would think you could
have maybe taken all of that, copied and pasted it
into like a German to English website.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Wow, and you know Ryan's notes, they're so thorough. I
mean there were probably six thousand works.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
I had all kinds of stuff talk about Lebanon, all
translated to German, and finally somebody at the AT and
D store finally translated it back for me.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
I bet Matt wishes that's what happened to his phone
in his pocket instead of And we.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Talked about that on KOSR. We have Okay, let's keep
talking about it. That's actually one of my things to
do as a Matt check up. Billy and I are
you know with cover zero. We recorded another one yesterday.
It's out this morning. A couple of people here said
you listen, so thank you. But in part of doing
our NFL show, we are able to have long conversations
with Matt. We're like the only people able to speak
to him because he doesn't have a phone over there,

(08:44):
and Billy, being the great GM that he is, sent
up an iPad that was already rigged up with all
the streaming tools we need. So we've checked in with Matt.
He is alive. We can report okay, he's mid Safari.
We were able to get through a show yesterday, but
Billy we mentioned he had seen some animals, and if
you all follow Matt on Instagram, I think he borrowed
a stranger's phone. He's like, I can't go to Africa

(09:06):
and not take pictures. So he was able to post
on social media a few times by logging in through
someone else's phone.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Yeah, and he said that he did that several times,
whether it be a taxi driver that he's going into
or the guy that he's on tour with. He needs
some photos, so he's asking people to take a photo
of him and then send it to his phone so
he can get it later.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Well.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
I saw he posted one of a giant turtle. I
saw he posted one seventy five year old, Oh, seventy
five year old?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Test and how he knows that? And he said the
guy told him, and I was like.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, cat, get to count the rings on it.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
And he'd be posted a picture of some penguins looks
like on the beach. So at least we got to
see that part of it. And here's my question, though,
I think going to the Big Safari today or something
right now, I believe he's already.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Yeah, there's six hours ahead of us.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Wasn't it closed? Did they close it yesterday or something.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I did see and a lot of KSR listeners sent it.
It looked like they had closed the area. He was
going to completely shut down what I thought. But I believe, Billy,
he's already in the area when we talked to him yesterday.
So had he been a day later, h Matt in
traffic with no phone would have been a great plot
twist for his trip. But I'm pretty sure he is
already in where whatever the mountain or whatever he's doing.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
So we got another show to record later today. We're
supposed to see if he contacts us before that, if
he can even get connected. So he is going to
the bush, but that would be the ultimate chaos R
cursed if it's something like that were to happen.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
They said they closed itause there were too many people
already on the property and there already.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I saw that line of traffic backed up. He would
have loved that, but I think he. I think he
managed so he was.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Already in when closed it yesterday.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Okay, but also yesterday after we did cover zero, we
could have used you guys, Billy. We wrapped up at
about four o'clock. You're talking about this, Yeah, we're gonna sorry.
I heart loves when I tell behind the scenes. I
heard stories. Yeah, uh wrap up about four o'clock, very
very long day. At that point, I still had a
lot more to do, had mother in law coming over.
I was supposed to have lasagna in the oven by
five to get that ready.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
It's four o'clock.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, but I'm at this moment, I'm I'm still great
on time. I got my whole itinery. But as I'm leaving,
iHeart waving goodbye to everyone. So someone says, oh, Drew,
you're here for the four thirty seminar, and I stopped
and I was like, yeah, of course, I'm here for
the four thirty seminar. Remind me again about the seminar.
And then they said, you know, we get to meet clients.

(11:11):
There's a presentation and all things going on just at
infinity right above my heart, same buildings. So because me
Billy O and me Billy and Mario are unable to
say no, we're.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Very nice, leave the building.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
You're trapped.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
During the office, I'm not gonna say we're trapped because
we were very enthused, but Me Billy and Mario spent
a little extra time with our iHeart colleagues. Yesterday going
over podcast presentation, I posted a little clip of BILLYO
and Mario. They were dialed in, very focused. We met
a lot of our nice clients. But Ryan, you know
it's we missed at the meeting yesterday. I'm sure you
were completely aware of it, like we were.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
I was so excited about going to the meeting. I
slept from like three to five o'clock. I slept right
through it and no idea.

Speaker 6 (11:51):
People seem to be questioning how into the presentation I was.
Me and Mario were showing each other pictures on our
phone during the video that you posted. But look, we
were there to mingle, right, We were meeting the clients.
We did what we needed to do.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Mario was taking pictures. They had free food there. Mario
made sure to get lots of f used to go
boxes on the way home. But you know, sometimes you're
at I Heeart and you just you. I'm not gonna
say we didn't check an email, but we were lucked
into walking out the door right as they needed us there.
But we could. We really could have used your runs.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
So they went to Infinity Bar. But yet it was
a seminar there.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Oh, there was a big screen with multiple speakers like
guest speakers.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
iHeart brass from out of town people.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Word great. Yeah, I hated to miss that one, Shannon.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
I didn't know anything about it. That was in Lexington,
so I could wipe my hands clean of this one.
I didn't know about it.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Well, we signed you all in. It looks like you
were there.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I also want to mention before we get onto some
actual news and have some more fun hair at hand.
Day's Jojo was awesome yesterday.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
He was good, wasn't he?

Speaker 2 (12:45):
He was so fun. I need people to understand that
energy you got from Jojo through the radio during the
break because he was like that maybe even times too.
And I just that is I guess that's Jojo all
the time. He's full speed and full of energy. It
just seems to always be happy.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Yeah, I said this on the show. The fan base
needed that, needed a little pump of excitement. I think
we got it from Dennis on Tuesday, Dennis Johnson and
then Jojo yesterday. The fan base needs it out. Surely
the locker room and the coaching need something like that.
But just a little boost, little little joke, the breath
of fresh air excitement coming into the program.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Maybe you see what JoJo's doing on Saturdays. He could
join you guys on that pregame show because he is
full of a lot of a lot of positive energy.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
He is.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
We'll have to check with the Orthow legend to get
his availability, But Shannon, you agree with us from the show,
Jojo needs his microphone in Kroger Field, if only for
thirty seconds during a time.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
Yeah, I mean, somebody just to go over there, you know,
and pump the crowd up a little bit. If former
player always helps, If somebody that the fans are already
familiar with, and you know, a guy who's beloved like
Jojo is. But yeah, I thought he was great on
the show yesterday, and he does seem like the happiest
person I think I've ever heard. Uh just just you know,
talking about Kentucky football and saying why not?

Speaker 6 (13:51):
You know, And yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
How many times could we set the over under for
why not? If he does? Why? You're a program looking
for traditions, looking for things to celebrate.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Wait, why not? Why not? Jojo?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
You know, he gave a little plea to Mitch Barnhart
and Susan. I can called her Susan Slacks. Susan Slacks, Yeah,
he said, And we've got a little pre plead bring
him on, let him do something. It would be great
to bring him out there because he definitely would help
revive the fan base a little bit.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I think it was a.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Great show with him yesterday. Also, it's great talking to
Matt doing another cover zero. Check that out. We have
a lot of news to get to here at ham
Day's more ham Days Talk. It is Drew, Ryan Shannon
and Billy. Billy might be doing some hog calling later.
We'll see. We'll figure that out as we go, but
we'll be right back. Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio. We're

(14:37):
live at ham Days in Lebanon, lovely Marion County. Drew
Franklin here. That gave me the keys to the car
to remote for the first time. This is fun right.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Rolling on with it.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Yeah, I do want to drive it into Lebanon. Last
time we were here at the Cornbrad Hymn Show, Mario
was surprised that Abraham Lincoln was born in this area.
So today coming in, I pointed out, look at that
sign they say he was born in a cabin down
that road right there.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Isn't there like fifteen different places that people claim that
didn't matter that Abraham Lincoln was.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
The real place is right down the road here, close
to cabinant.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
I don't think we really have any evidence from back then,
so I guess you could claim he was born anywhere
in Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
What about Hodginville.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Yeah, but he was born in a cabin right down
the road right over here.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
We'll count it.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
The sign says, so.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Just wherever we are that particular day, that's where Abraham
all like Kentucky wants a piece of Lincoln.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Like I mean, everywhere everywhere you go, it's Lincoln. Well,
and then you know I grew up Indiana.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
We claim Abraham Lincoln where he went to was a
youngster there, and then of course Illinois claimed it where
he grew up there.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
He was bouncing around like he was running from the wall.
But we're happy to be here in Springfield or Lebanon
and Marion County. Let's do a few news items yesterday.
It was a little newsy after the show. We got
some basketball start times. Yeah, some good, some bad. I'll
start with the one I like we were finally the
first game in the Champions Classic playing Michigan State at
six thirty. Usually in those double headers, Kentucky gets that

(15:57):
second game, which always starts a little late. Oh yeah,
makes for a later night and so on. But this year,
at least in the Champions Classic up in the Garden
will be at six thirty's on Tuesday night.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Nobody happier than brother Billy or yes, yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, amen that.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I always think about Billy and all of these because
you know those late night games, He's gotta be there
un till two three o'clock in the morning, dealing with
drunk fans and depending on how the game went, if
they end up losing it, I mean, it's yeah, more
of a I guess hurdle trying to screen those phone calls.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (16:25):
I've always circled the Champions Classic as the longest day
of the year, and it's always pretty good news for
our guys Dave Baker and Cameron Mills because that is
a long pregame show as well, So good good on
them being the first game.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Our website team shout out to them. That makes for
a long night as well. We might even get an
hour of sleep after that game. After this next game,
the one, Billy's dreading. We got some decent news about
the Champions Classic. But in the ACC SEC Challenge, Kentucky
and North Carolina get the nine to thirty draw, meaning
Billy will officially crawl into the pre show that next
day having not slept. Billy, what'd you think about the

(17:00):
absolute last time slot available for the long day of
basketball in the Chick.

Speaker 6 (17:04):
Well, I have an air mattress. I can set that
up in the studio. I think that might be the
best thing to do to get to the show the
next day. It kind of reminds me of the Oklahoma
game in the SEC Tournament. If you remember, we had
to wait for that game to start. It was like
three in the morning. Matt's on the roof doing the
postgame show. So maybe we can channel some of that
craziness at night, but definitely a show. We might turn
on The Alien Show for at least a couple of seconds.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
You and I are together postgame South Carolina Thisaturday, two
of us. I will say, I've never I've done a
postgame show, but not a late night We might also
do some Alien talk, depending on how that game goes,
what times pregame run That's us was that games.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Let's we're gonna go at four thirty, four thirty to
five three, just one hour pregame show.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Since it's a road game, so.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Four thirty to five three will be at KOs bars.
Will come out and tailgate with us and then sit
and watch the game.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yeah, even though it's a road game, we'll go to
the bar and still have a good time there pregaming.
Some other basketball related news, we got a bracketology yesterday.
I know everybody's worried about our NCAA tournament seed in
the middle of September. First we are, but Joelnardi he
loves his job. He has a great job security over
there as long as he keeps doing these weekly, so
we'll at least acknowledge it. Kentucky is a three seed

(18:11):
in the West. I think that's a San Jose is
where that region would be opening with Furman my Boy, Manny,
Manny's Boy, Manny's alma mater. That would be fun, and
then you would get Michigan State or Memphis in the
second round. The one seed in that region is Perdue,
who Kentucky plays here in about four weeks in an
exhibition game, and then the other one seeds in the

(18:32):
draw are Houston, Florida and Duke. But you know, we
obviously don't know really what matchups would be. But at
this stage in the year, knowing what little we know,
is anyone arguing against the three seeds?

Speaker 3 (18:42):
You good with that? I'm good with that. First couple
of thoughts.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
First of all, the fact that ESPN employees Jolenardi year
round to do bracketology, which means absolutely nothing. Joelanardi's got
it figured out. I mean, I want that job to
make stuff up that doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
And he just moves like three teams around.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yeah, the new one. Yeah. Second of all, San jo Jo,
three seeds, okay whatever.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
I mean, obviously two or one would be better, but
a three seed, okay, we'll take that. But San Jose,
I'm thinking if we have to drive all the way
out to San Jose, I am not looking forward to that.
So maybe you and I I think that's a that's
a Matt and Drew. Yeah, Ryan and I can stay
back and entertain everybody at ks bar if that happens.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
You know, when Jeff Goodman and Rob Dustin were on,
they both said they felt like it's Purdue in Houston,
And then there's like eighteens kind of grouped together. Kentucky's
in that group, but so is Louisville's in that group. So,
you know, a three seed, you know, but if you're
gonna give me produce, Purdue doesn't scare me because you know,
I hate Purdue.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
I never like Purdueuce.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
They produce stink, produce stink, produce stink. You know, you
just they're gonna they're gonna fail, They're not gonna do anything.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Is that the chant produced tink?

Speaker 3 (19:43):
That's what we used to.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Say, produce sinks. They just produce stink, produced stink.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Okay, all right, that's it's very very clever produced stink. Well,
we'll see him, Like said, that's four weeks from from
maybe even today.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
It's well, let me ask you this.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
If if we could make, you know, wave a magic
wand and say, Kentucky it's a three seed right now,
would you take that or would you say, let's just
play it out and maybe we'll get a one or
a two? Meaning do you think there's any chance that
Kentucky gets worse than a three seed?

Speaker 2 (20:10):
I say, play it out, play it.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Out, yeah, play it out.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
I mean you got Steven Pearl coaching Auburn. Now, I
mean Florida's Florida. They're projected as a one seed. But
other than that, the SEC overall still gonna be strong,
but not nearly what it was a year ago. I'm
loving what we're hearing out of practice. I want a
top two seed.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
Yeah, three seeds should be the floor right with this roster.
Let's let's be a one or two. I would be
poetic you play an exhibition game versus Purdue and then
they're the one seed. That would be an interesting matchup.
But at the same time, I'd like to avoid them.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Can we just get hashtag produce stink.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Produce producing producing. We're looking way too far ahead to
the NCAA basketball postseason, but one postseason's coming up close.
In Matt's Reds, you know, yeah, he would be up
here having a melt down about what happens. So we
have to acknowledge the Reds. You had the big home
run last night in the bottom of the ninth. That's

(21:01):
when I turned it on when Stevenson tied it up.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Did you miss the inside the parker? I caught up
on it.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I don't sit around watching the Reds, but my group
chat went so Okay, Well, they were down four to
two in the is it the eighth when they had.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
The uh, there's two to nothing, then two to one
on the inside the Parker, then it was two to two.
Then they went into extra innings. Pirates score one on
the top of the tenth, Red score one, three to three,
and I think it was four to three was the
final I believe, right was? The Pirates scored another one
obviously in the top of the eleventh.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
But yeah, the.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
Reds are quickly running out of time here. They got
four more games, they had one more with the Pirates today,
three on the road against the Brewers, and the Mets
loss last night too, but there's still one game ahead, so.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Excruciating way to lose for them too. Yeah, extra innings,
I have the record. Are there three and twelve in
extra innings this season? Braves were part of one of
those wins. But filling for Reds fans a little bit.
They're not out of at ESPN gives them a twenty
nine percent chance, But losing back to back to Pittsburgh
that way, Ryan, I can only imagine what's going through
as he's chasing Zebras and around South Africa.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
Yeah, when we did the show? Was it on Monday?
The Reds were in the driver's seat because they had
the tiebreaker with the Mets. They were currently tied with
them at that time. But you already dropped and you
got the Pirates. You think you could make maybe win
two or three of the Pirates, but that.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
You had the cy Young Award winner Paul Skins last
night on the Mountain too.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
So that's what I heard a lot of Reds fans saying,
why didn't they pitch Hunter Green on Tuesday night? Just
concede the loss to Paul Skin concede the loss. It
was just split going into today. Today's game like starts
at noon too. I think it's an afternoon game.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Well forty five. Johnny Rocker might saying he might have
to sneak out here to watch his Reds. We can't
be having that, Yeah, and then.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
The Brewers next they're gonna be playing for home field
a vantage, So I mean they're not gonna lay down.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
That's right. Rick, I feel like you told me we're
counting down the flock. We're coming up on a break.
How you doing over there?

Speaker 4 (22:41):
Rick?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
By the way, all right.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
How you doing? Rick?

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Ryan Shannon and Billie, you heard that. Well, we'll take
a quick break and be right back with more news
from Big Blue Nation yesterday. So it's not Matt Jones.
This is Drew Franklin here in Lebanon for Ham Days
with Ryan, Shannon and Billy. Uh. Guys, Uh, we're having
fun today. But I have a slight correction I have
to make if I made an error. You know, I'm
not used to being up here. Hey, I don't normally

(23:08):
drop the show. I usually just sit there and barely
pay attention to stage. I'm thinking back to like I
was the kid in school where you had to give
a presentation. You could like see their hands shaking, like
I was terrified. Were you all like that? I've grown
out of it, But I mean, did you all have
basic public speaking problems? Or am I alone on that?

Speaker 4 (23:26):
I was the guy voluntearing to go first. I'm jumping up.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Yeah, I'll do it.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Let's go all right.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Well that doesn't surprise anyone, but I do have to
crack something. Turtle Man is a life all his friend
Neil on the show one who passed I got it.
I got it backwards. So I'm a turtle Man. If
you're out there listening. Good to know you're you're still
doing well. You've got his number, Turtle Man's numbers. How
do you why and how do you get Turtleman's back?
You ever lose this phone? I have the most random
context I've.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
We should go through your phone and see who the
most random people we could find and maybe just have
Rick call them up and see if they want to
talk about you know, how life's going.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Listen, send Turtle Man a message and let's try to
get him on the show. I mean when he's hometown,
we're in Lebanon.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Well, yeah, he's He's one of the most random. Him
and Marilyn Manson, I.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Believe, well you met Marilyn Manson was just a louder
than life. I mean you could have, you know, hung
out with him over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
I was trying to get ahold of him. But you
just want to clear things up, Turtleman.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Turtle Man is alive and well yeah, still still is.
He's still here in Lebanon. Where's he live? Well, we'll
find lives here. Maybe he'll be at ham Days, maybe
he'll walk into the show.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Why didn't they correct me when I said it?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Thin?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Yeah, bro, we'll fix that that.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Man's ready for you to kill him.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Maybe we'll hear from him later.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
He can do some good hog calling. I'm sure if
anybody could, it'd be Turtle Man.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Right. Didn't he did the Gee? Maybe I did? Did
they live action?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Maybe I'll do the Turtleman call while you are but
we want your calls. A five nine to two two
eight seven nailed that transition there, and the A vision
Glass five o two seven thirty five thirty six eight.
That's it. That's You've ruined my brain of how to
say a phone number.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
And you know I don't usually have the vision Glass
text machine, but it goes off all day long. People leave,
listen to the podcast Boom, then they'll they'll text me stuff.
So I've had to learn to turn it down because
it beeps.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
All this phone nearly spontaneously. Canbust it. Last Thursday, when
we brought up Jimmy Kimmel, that's true and Ryan brought
it up. And I've never seen anybody backtrack on a
topic quicker than Ryan on Jimmy Kimmel. Because the text
machine just went crazy.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
I thought it was going to explode, like twenty texts
in a row about the Jimmy Kimmel in Oh it
was more than twenty Yeah, that's probably right.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
I will say I was off last week and I
wasn't able to listen. But there was some moment where
I was out and a few people came up to
me and they're like, your boy had a Kimmel segment today,
and I was wondering if I needed to get back
on the show and a hurry. But you all did great,
So thank you for holding it up a little while.
Happy to happy to drive today for you.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Well, you know he's well, he's talking about he back. Yeah,
he's back on it right man, like record viewership, I
think on his first game show back. So it's all
I'm gonna say, what.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Do we have tomorrow?

Speaker 3 (25:49):
You're driving me to one?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
You're you're driving tomorrow? Show it orm.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Where are we We're.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
At bywater Farms in Georgetown, another one of our favorite stops.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
It's like a big pumpkin patch and you can come
get your pumpkins and get your mom. It's a great place.
We always have a good time.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Like cinnamon donuts, apple cider always out there. It's always
a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Shannon did the pumpkin cannon last year.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
How was that junkin r out there? What do they call sup?
Like a cannon they have? Yeah, but it was actually
apples you put in there. Oh it's happening, and yeah
that's a lot of fun too, So a lot of
cool things you could do out here tomorrow bywater farms.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
And growing up in Madisonville used to make the potato
guns with Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's good, good old
fashioned fun. Standing out of trouble back then. I had
a few more news items I didn't want to skip over, right,
Kentucky volleyball needs a shout out.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Yes they do.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Opened SEC play with a sweep yesterday beating South Carolina.
South Carolina get my round of a yeah, we can
cheer for that. Put your hand biscuits down, chere for that.
South Carolina actually dominated the second set and Kentucky still
came back to win that one. Didn't have much trouble
in the other two, but I was surprised to see
it's the first time they've won their first SEC match
since twenty twenty one eight straight SEC titles, but usually

(26:55):
get off to a rough start there. So they're one
and oh eight and two on the year and I
believe this Friday they have another another home win.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
But that's surprises me because you're right, they are the
queens of SEC volleyball. They've won so many titles in
a row. But I saw they moved up to number
three in the country. How do they beat Louisville last week?
So I've already played number one, played number two. Now
they are number three. Beat number three.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
I want to see Kentucky Nebraska again. I think we
want them back. We had them down two to oh
Nebraska came back ended up winning. But I think Kentucky
can beat Nebraska again and hopefully maybe we'll see them
in the championship game. You've got all these trophies out here.
Maybe we should give Kentucky volleyball a trophy right now.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Let's make that the championship now. Yesterday being Wednesday, we
also got a football injury report. Been a while since
we've had those. Last week's a bye week before that
Eastern Michigan where you don't have to release it. But
now that there's a SEC opponent, we found out that
Kentucky nothing too bad of shape. DJ Waller probably not
gonna have him starting corner, but he's missed the last

(27:50):
three games. Calzada was listed as questionable. Stoops hasn't said
much about that. Hard to know his status. Think there's
a little gamesmanship going on there when Stoop talk about it.
Will Cox was listed out, but then some good news.
Terry On Nichols will be back after he missed part
of the Eastern Michigan game. Josiah Hayes and Choice Silao
look like they're back. And then South Carolina they were
a little more beaten up. They could be without a

(28:12):
right tackle, a defensive tackle, center, a cornerback, and a safety.
So a little bit of football news coming out of there.
Looks like Kentucky in decent shape all things considered, after
that secondary was really banged up two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yeah, the bye week definitely helps Kentucky for sure. He
let these guys kind of get healed up a little bit.
You know, Waller's a guy they kind of missed. They
had to play a lot of guys at corner last game,
just trying to find somebody that can maybe get the
job done. He's the one they probably missed the most.
But you know, we talked about this. There's a little
scuttle but that said Calzada's shoulder is pretty messed up
that he may be out for a while. Just be
a backup guy maybe, like we saw him in the

(28:44):
Eastern missigame, be a coach on the sideline to Cutter,
kind of help him out what he sees from the
sidelining and then goes and talks to Cutter about it. So,
but South Carolina down five people, that that's good news
for us for sure.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
And a great opportunity, like we've been talking about, for
Cutter Bowley to go into a tough road environment and
if he can pull off a win there against South Carolina,
that's one of those games. It's a swing game on
your schedule, so we can really see I think what
we've got in Cutter. It's hard to see really what
you got when you're playing Eastern Michigan. But going on
a road and getting a win like this as your quarterback,
I think that would be a huge step in the
right direction.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
Well, I think that's the silver lining. You don't root
for injuries, but Halzada being out allows Cutter to do
his thing without looking behind his shoulder. I mean it's
going to be his game, his first SEC start, and
I think that this team is better with Cutter at
the quarterback spot.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
At least they're ceiling.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
I think you so too. Last night, I sticking with
SEC football and Billy after our big iHeart seminar which
we were so excited to get soon dressed up for.
And we were dressed up that I was wearing basically
pajamas ahead on a Titan shirt. Well, we were doing
cover zero. I wasn't ready to go be part.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Of the couple bucks here on was a rough move.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
We looked like a little couple of little kids on
our way to our first NFL game. But after that
I went home and stand on some of our topics.
Yesterday we talked about Lane Kiffin. Yes, the big debut
of his documentary, The Mini Lives of of Tiffin was
last night. Did anyone get bored enough to tune into
a lank?

Speaker 4 (30:03):
I wish I would have known that came out col
last night. I would have watched it.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
I don't know how many people listened to the pre
show that are listening right now, but Billy told a
great story on the pre show about how his fiance
is in love with Nick Saban.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
Yeah, with all people, we watched the whole documentary last night.
She starts sitting up in her chair when he goes
to the Alabama doing the offensive coordinator stuff. I'm like, oh,
you're really into this thirty for thirty and she goes
that guy's attractive.

Speaker 5 (30:28):
I thought she talking about Lane Kiffin. Nick Kiff, he's dry.
He's just like very basic. I mean, he's a great coach,
but I just I mean, look, I'm not one to
judge a guy who's a good looking or not. But
I wouldn't think that Nick Saban would be the heart
throb for somebody in her twenties. But apparently, Billy better
watch out because Nick Saban's gonna come take your girl.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
She was all over him, I mean at the end though,
she tried to say that that's how I would look
if I was older, and I said, no, no, no,
I don't look anything Saban, please, you're just trying to
save yourself now.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
So we looked it up. He's seventy three.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I'm playing the documentary back of my mind. I can't
think of a moment where, even if you thought Nick
Saban was good looking, that would be a moment. But
it opens with you see a lot of Lane Kiffin.
The documentary opens with him doing yoga, just like he
had done in Lexington. I didn't expect the whole beginning
to be about the impact of hot yoga on him,
but it was a decent documentary about an hour. I

(31:24):
tend to like Lane Kiffin in a kind of love
hate way. I found him entertaining. The big news that
came out of it was he admitted that in twenty
twenty two he was considering Auburn pretty heavily leaving Old
Miss and his daughter Landry and their friends went to
his office and they had put it together, a slide
show with sad music, and he said, it wasn't sure
that I was going to leave, but at that point
I knew I had to stay.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
I hope.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
I'm doing a documentary this week of the girlfriend, I
mean his daughter, the girlfriend of the LSU linebacker Game
day game week. That's the documentary I want to watch absolutely.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
I did think it was really good, though, Like you
forget about Al Davis's power point after firing Lane with
the Raiders, or him leaving after going seven and six
with Tennessee, and then for only for USC to get
all those sanctions with Reggie Bush. So I mean the
guy has lived many lives.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
As the title is.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
He talks about leaving Knoxville, where he was not ready
for the news to get out. He comes out and
immediately there are people throwing stuff at his house with
his wife and kid there. They had to send police
and he just left town and never went back. But yeah,
it was about an hour. If you need something to watch,
I recommend watching.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
To watch it just to see how sexy Lyric Saban
looks at that.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Well, how are you gonna beble to watch? How could
you watch Game Day after this? Knowing that Marissa has
this thing for Nick Saban.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah, Hey, Billy, let's go watch college games. Well, you know,
I think I'm safe.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
I don't think Game Day will ever come to Kentucky,
so I'm at least good there. That's that's the hall pass, right, Nick,
say that's I guess that's for Hall pass.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Rick.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
We need to we need to cleanse ourselves to these
mental images of Nick Saban. Who's on the phone line,
Maybe they'll have something to change the subject or add
to this.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Got Wayne on the line.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Wayne, you have the floor? Hey you're taking all right?

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (33:04):
Our show prip probably the most most important people that
they ever came out of me. You know, Tommy Simpson
was the best football player played. Okay, he was one
of the fan.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Thirty if not their head was in the ten thirty.

Speaker 7 (33:27):
See he was one of the fan thirty had been hand.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
That's true? Yeah, me one less.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Well, that's a good point. We appreciate the call.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
So Tommy Simpson is that his name, Tommy Simpson.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Tommy Simpson, all right, part of.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
The ten thirty. So there we go. Got somebody else
here from Levanon that needs to be mentioned.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
You're supposed to know all the athletes Roun.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Hey, I didn't know Toothpick. I didn't know Tommy Simpson.
But that's what we do. That's why the callers will
educate us.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
And one more SEC coaching note, Billy Up, I tell
you're to Marissa to turn the radio down. So we
talk about other SEC coach. But the situation to watch
in Arkansas, it's it's very unlikely, but not impossible. Their
coaches on the hot seat, and the potential option should
they leave him in the middle of the year, when
Bobby Petrino sits there and we could have Bobby two

(34:16):
point oh two point zero right coordinator. He did the
little thing twice. We could see neck brace Bobby head
coach of Arkansas once.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
I can't imagine them bringing up Probably.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Not gonna happen. A booster has even said absolutely no way.
But there's some buzz because the offense is looking good,
Sam Pittman, the time looks like it might be up
and they could hand it off to Petrino, where we
get Bobby two point oh two point oh. Would you
all be for Bobby Petrino running the show with the Razorbacks.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
I'd be four it because I'm not a Razorback fan.
But if I'm Arkansas, I can't imagine them bringing them
back again. I mean, Lobill already made that mistake once,
so I can't imagine Arkansas doing the same thing.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
But I guess, I guess stranger things have happened.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
I hadn't even thought about that, but that's a strong
scenario that could happen. I mean, Patrino's the oftenative coordinator,
he's hat head coaching experience. You need to interim coaches
to get you through the end of the year. I
can see them maybe giving it to him. So then
as Arkansas become public enemy number one, Caliparian basketball and
Patrino and football, both at the same school.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I don't know if I'd call that and I would
just laugh at that, and he would. You gotta lean
into it if it were to happen, like he needs
to ride a motorcycle onto the field with the neck
brace and just go all in if that happens. But
it's a fun little side story to watch in the conference. Again,
they probably wouldn't do it, but that that is being
talked about.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
It's a possibility. Like what else you're gonna do. You
gotta win a couple of games. You're trying to win
the game the rest of the season. Maybe he gives
you the best chance to do it.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
I'd love to see a neck brace and all. We're
gonna take a break here at him days. We're having
lots of fun. I got a topic coming up where
Billy and I are gonna teach these two how to
like golf. That's gonna be Don't worry, it's not gonna
be golf talk. There's different different parts of it. Okay,
we're still gonna do some hog calling. We want to
take your calls five oh two, Uh, excuse me, five
oh two. That's the it's the text line A five
nine two two eight seven and the a vision glass

(35:58):
text machine five oh two seven thirty five thirty six eighty.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Got it.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
This is KSR ham Days and we right back. Look
at this Welcome back KSR. Yay Bru Franklin, Ryan Lemon,
Shannon the dude, Billy R Sports.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
We had a few giveaways, some towels, some sunglasses, some coozies,
and we just set them out for people to come
get and Ryan literally everyone got up at once and
just stormed the stage.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Everybody loves a free T shirt. That's why then they
sho shoot the T shirts up in the crowd. People
go crazy every you see these cooozies. Yeah, I think
I've told this story story.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
There was a guy I was doing a double Q
remote and there was a at a gas station of
all places, and there was a guy who showed up
five minutes right before the remote ended and was ready
to fight me because I didn't have a koozy to
give the guy. So I'll tell you, people will take
anything that's free, free stuff.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
I should I should have helped your soup. We need
like crowd control and yeah, everyone grab one one one each,
one each. Literally everyone that was sitting here got up
to get some stuff. But you know that's that's why
you come to a KS.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
You got free sunglasses, free t shirts, free towels, free coozies.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
I don't know what. What have we got? Free necklaces?

Speaker 5 (37:04):
Yeah, some beads, and there's enough coozies for everybody here,
So nobody's gonna get into a fistfight if somebody doesn't
get one.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Hopefully we'll regain crowd control while we wait. Shannon, you
haven't had read and if I'm not mistaken, I did
so bad at this very day when I crashed out,
I was just saying words. I was like train news film. Yeah,
so why don't you tell us about Don Franklin since
I have been benched as a spokesman.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Yeah, they have twenty eight stores and over six thousand
vehicles across the Bluegrass trucks, SUV, sedans only. At Don
Franklin Auto you can go the distance with powertrain protection
on certified pre owned makes and bottles up to ten
years or unlimited miles with confidence standard and.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
It's all there for you.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
At Don Franklin Auto dot com they have over like
I said, six thousand certified pre owned choices for you there,
and you can get anything from Genesis, Cadillac, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat,
KEI at Mitsubishi, Ford, Lincoln, Chevy, Buick. I think I
got them all there. Go to Don at Franklin Auto
dot Com. It's Don Franklin Otto driven by Family.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
So that's how you do it, you know, just start
shouting words because they're on.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
The paperword numbers or whatever it is, whatever's on there.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
We should talk a little South Carolina. It's coming up
still got to day. We'll do a lot of that tomorrow.
But we mentioned the injury report a few other things.
It's Tom Hard game. Oh yeah, SEC Network seven forty five.
Tom was texting us yesterday. Tom was also part of
the twenty fourteen game that was so eventful. He even
said a few things that he went through. What did
you have flat tire at tire?

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (38:32):
He mentioned that was when the fan fell out of
the stands that game. Who being okay? But I mean
in that night he was just like one thing after another.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
So we were talking about, you know, the Jojo touchdown,
the Grow Street party song, Budge touchdown, and then Tom,
I guess we'll listen to the show, he texted me.
Because remember that's also the game somebody fell out of
the stands down there after Bud threw the ball up
in the stands. I think it was.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
And you know, Tom sees games all over the SEC
all season. He agrees that was just one of the
most eventful like things. Yeah, stuck around even.

Speaker 4 (38:59):
For him, Like he said he after the game, he's
got a flat tire. He's trying to get to the airport.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Yeah, but we'll have him back Saturday. Does the name
Vicari Swain mean he thinks anyone? Because he's a name
you need to know if you're gonna be watching that game.
He is South Carolina's punt returner.

Speaker 4 (39:13):
Okay, why do we need to know?

Speaker 2 (39:14):
He's returned seven punts this season?

Speaker 3 (39:16):
All right?

Speaker 2 (39:16):
You know it's only been four games. Yeah, seven times
people punted to him. Three times he took it back
for a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (39:22):
Oh, I got an idea fourth down, Let's just go
for it. I don't care where we're out on the field.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
We're not kidding. We're just kick it out of bounds.
We're not kicking to that guy.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
You know, special team coaches infuriate me sometime. You got
a guy back there like that, just don't punt to him.
I mean we had Derrick Gabney. They kept putting to him,
kept pumped because they thought we know how to stop him.
He won't score against us. Guess what he scored against you.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Just don't punt to this kicking the ball straight out
of bounds. Absolutely chance.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
We got a good place, a great Kentucky. Special teams
have been good so far. Not three touchdowns good, but
that is Beamer Ball that started with his dad in
Virginia Tech. They win special teams, that's what they do.
They already have four non offensive touchdowns this year. But
absolutely gonna have to watch out for him. And you
mentioned Derek Abney. He has the record with six. We
don't want this guy getting closer this record. But Derek
Abney lives in South Carolina. This could be a game

(40:10):
where he's in the crowd, hopefully not watching that guy
take another one back.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
You know, I'm just texting Derek Abney the other day
trying to see if you can maybe come on the show.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
Like people do. Yeah, what about your numbers and your
phone book? Then with the well, I.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
Got all the old old timer football players, Jojo camp
Dennis Johnson, I got those guys. But you're right, man,
I special team coaches think he's not gonna score against us.
We know how to stop him. Just don't kick to
this guy. Man, this game could depend on a big
play like that. I think it's gonna be that close.
Don't give him that opportunity. I brought up the fourth downs.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
You know the Old Miss game, Stoops was very aggressive
going forward on fourth down.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
Do you guys like Stoops?

Speaker 5 (40:44):
I mean, because you know years past he's sort of
played more conservative a lot of times, not going forward
on fourth down. That got a lot of fan criticism.
You know, it seems to be from game to game
we're not really sure what Stoops we're going to get.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Do you like the more aggressive let's go forward on
fourth down?

Speaker 5 (40:59):
Or do we need to play conservative against South Carolina
if we find ourselves in a fourth down situation like that?

Speaker 3 (41:04):
What do you guys think My.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
NFL team had Mike Rabel where he'll go for it anywhere.
I kind of like the gambling attitude. Don Campbell does
that a lot. Stoops is a little bit the opposite.
But I think the one that really broke me was
last year Georgia or not being more aggressive. And we
know all the end of first half tobackles, but the
Georgia one is is one that really hurts.

Speaker 6 (41:20):
Well, you wanted to follow trends and numbers, right, analytical stuff,
and he consists and your gut, yeah, well see that's
I don't know about the gut. But you mentioned it
being at South Carolina? Is it right that they were
playing at South Carolina three of the next four years.
How the schedule works out, so a lot more sandstorm
in our future.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
You got a chance to win a game at South
Carolina a fourth down, you gotta go for it like
you should have done all four against Georgia last year.
You got to take that chance. You gotta get that win.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
And Beemer noted what we just said. He called it
a slugfest. He noted that since twenty sixteen, the team
that's come on top has not scored more than twenty
four offensive points. I mean, these games are close, not
high scoring. They pulled away late last year, had an
interception return. But these games are always slug fest and
Beamer knows them. But that's a hit ahead for us.
We're gonna talk a little more golf, a little more
South Carolina, a little more ham Days. Billy and Ryan

(42:05):
might do some hog callings. Stick with us. This is KSR. Drew, Ryan,
