Devin Leary made an NFL team, so he can't be
that bad. And then Brian Vandergriff quit football, and Zach

Calzada has not been good on his own so far.
I mean, he missed a little screen pass through it
at his feet, plenty of misthrows on Calzada. He looks
like he's seeing ghost out there. But I feel a

get in position and they're running plays and put him
in a position to take a safety like last week

or some of these play calls he's getting. Yes, he's
missing throws, but at the same time, I don't know
that we're exactly setting him up to succeed.

shout out to something positive of UK sports. UK volleyball
goes on the road, plays Top five Penn State, beats
them in three straight sets and dominates the game. They
had a huge crowd, they ended up it basically was
dead on national TV again on Fox. They were playing
on network television and they win. That means they have

played two teams in the top five, essentially in road games,
back to back, and have won the first two sets
in both games. Won the game against Penn State. They're
gonna end up rank probably number three in the country.
Craig Skinner, Drew has a national championship contender we had.

I mean, that's something to be excited about going forward.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Yeah, you spoiled State's fun up there. They had a
big banner night, big celebration.

On against Nebraska on Sunday, Penn State would have been
one and you would have beaten the number one team
twice in one week, being unheard of and about any sport.

Oh oh yeah, definitely, but a huge, huge win. Looks
like Skinner's loaded up again. We know they've had a
good hold on the conference for a long time, but
it looks like they're gonna be a national contender this season.

Just makes that Nebraska game that lost that much tougher.
You're up two to ohero on Nebraska and have a
chance to just sweep them, and then you'll lose that game.
They come back and beat it.

Craig Skinner Basically, if you look at the top eight
teams in the country that's not Kentucky.

So he's making it to where we're going because in
the SEC, volleyball is the one sport that the SEC
doesn't do as well. So like we'll run through the SEC.
Florida is the only other team that's good. So he's
playing this non conference schedule ride and so far doing well.

I love it. You know, so many coaches early in
the conference season season they want to play these cupcakes.
He's like, hell no, we're gonna go after the big boys,
big girls, and we're gonna chill them what we're made of.
They're definitely the best team on campus. We don't talk
about him enough. They deserve all the recognition they're getting
right now.

And next year, these teams they played are coming here.
So I don't know what if you're gonna have a
next year home schedule, but they'll probably have like the
best volleyball home schedule next year of any team in
the country.

Whoever operates that before? Of course you can't on the

I've heard more complaints about the blue white chant. I
didn't realize that was such a big deal to people,
but it was. I did hear it on the game broadcast,
and it did seem like, I'm with you, maybe we
retire that for when it's loud.

I mean, when you're doing the blue white chant, you
actually have a gap there between the blue and white.
With jizzer offense, you know that they can communicate. It's
a horrible chance. People are looking at the video boards
and you're looking at the at the play on the field,
it's it's I don't know who's operating it, but they
they they need some help. Uh. As far as the game,

if you listen to Van hows during Tom Leach, uh,
obviously the quarterback quarterback play kind of costs us that
game because, uh, according to Van House, he there are
some wide receivers skimmed opening during that game and we
just missed them.

to crumble and we're not even to the middle of

It's an amazing headline. But give me quickly some details.

Uh. So, the raccoon I found in a dumpster and
it had got so drunk it had fell over into
some water and it had drowned. And I was able
to get it out of the dumpster and it was
dead or close to dead. It was not breathing. So
I did CPR on it and I was able to

bring it back to life and it's living.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Now that's awesome. Now let's go do got drunk? How
did it get you drunk?

The dumpster was at a Moonshine Distillery, and they had
put their fermented peaches in that dumpster, and it had
got in there with one of its siblings, and it
had ate those peaches apparently all night, until it had
got so drunk it couldn't eat anymore.

You like that, Miron That happened sometime. I just amazing,
amazing as amazing story.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
All right, So you see the drunk peach eating raccoon
and the dumpster. Most people would see that and just
keep walking. What made you decide to save it?
Speaker 11 (30:25):
Well, I'm a nurse and I'm also a mother, and
its mom was standing close by, and she was making
like some cheeter chatter noise, and I think she was
trying to get her attention, like she wanted us to
help it. And I mean, I'm an animal lover. So
I went over there and I got it, and I
just started doing chess compressions and beating on its back

a little to get that water out of its lungs,
and it finally started to breathing again.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
This is my favorite part. So you did seepr on
a racket?
Speaker 11 (31:01):
I did?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
I did? That is awesome, Misty, Seriously, you are a saint.
No one else would do that. So once it was over,
did it, thank you?
Speaker 11 (31:12):
Well, it was still drunk. So it's still the rest
of the day. And we've seen it to the the
future while life came and got it. But they brought
it back to me the next day. I was sort
of shocked they did that, and I got to turn
it loose back where its mom lives. They are at
the health department that I work at.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
That is awesome. We're good. You can stop with it.
You can stop it right there. Well, it was still drunk.

I've had some nights on moonshine. I thought they kind
of relate to this raccoon a little bit.

I don't know if this is scientific CPR beating on
its back. It worked though, I don't know if that's

Right she acts like that that's a regular occurrence, and

I loved it.

I Drew absolutely loved the story, absolutely love Misty, and
I love that she got to be on national radio.
At first, my producers called her and asked her if
she would come on. She said no, she said I'm
not doing that. So then I was like, let me
call her. So I called her and I was like, Misty,
come on, this will be fun. And she goes, I
don't know anything about sports, and I said, who cares?

She then picked games with us Shannon. Every game she

that's just a that's a fact. I mean they've been
you know, depend they've they've either one of two things
is true. Either they've had the wrong offensive coordinators and

three years in a row without picking the right quarterback.

I tend to do the offensive coordinators becuz you know,
Devin Leary made an NFL team, so he can't be
that bad. And then Brian Vandergriff quit football, and Zach
Alzada at one point beat Alabama so some of it is.
I think it's more coordinator based, at least to me.

Calzada has not been good on his own so far.
I mean, he missed a little screen pass through it
at his feet, plenty of misthrows on Calzada. He looks

get in position and they're running plays and put him
in a position to take a safety like last week

literally dozens of those a week and they're real and

games just shows you how bad it's gotten. And they're

Of great story. Well that's the story. It's a woman

I thought, who's better forget week one than the woman
who did it perfectly? That the woman from Kentucky who
saved the drunk raccoon that.

Was in the dumpster.

So we had her on and it's one of my
favorite things I've ever heard. And I couldn't just leave
it to the national audience. I have to play it
for our Kentucky folks. This is Misty Combs from Lecher County.
Remember this is on national radio, and I have to
tell you I've done a lot of interviews on ESPN,
never gotten more response. ESPN's thinking about putting it out

as a clip today. We'll see if they do it,
but either way, I'm playing it on this show. Here

I am great, all I'm.

Doing wonderful, Misty.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Now I read the store you this week found a
drunk raccoon in a dumpster and you gave it CPR.
It's an amazing headline. But give me quickly some details.
Speaker 11 (29:12):
Uh. So, the raccoon I found in a dumpster and
it had got so drunk it had fell over into
some water and it had drowned. And I was able
to get it out of the dumpster and it was
dead or close to dead. It was not breathing. So
I did CPR on it and I was able to
(29:33):
bring it back to life and it's living.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Now that's awesome. Now let's go do got drunk? How
did it get you drunk?
Speaker 12 (29:43):
So?
Speaker 11 (29:43):
The dumpster was at a Moonshine Distillery, and they had
put their fermented peaches in that dumpster, and it had
got in there with one of its siblings, and it
had ate those peaches apparently all night, until it had
got so drunk it couldn't eat anymore.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
You like that, Miron That happened sometime. I just amazing,
amazing as amazing story.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
All right, So you see the drunk peach eating raccoon
and the dumpster. Most people would see that and just
keep walking. What made you decide to save it?
Speaker 11 (30:25):
Well, I'm a nurse and I'm also a mother, and
its mom was standing close by, and she was making
like some cheeter chatter noise, and I think she was
trying to get her attention, like she wanted us to
help it. And I mean, I'm an animal lover. So
I went over there and I got it, and I
just started doing chess compressions and beating on its back
(30:49):
a little to get that water out of its lungs,
and it finally started to breathing again.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
This is my favorite part. So you did seepr on
a racket?
Speaker 11 (31:01):
I did?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
I did? That is awesome, Misty, Seriously, you are a saint.
No one else would do that. So once it was over,
did it, thank you?
Speaker 11 (31:12):
Well, it was still drunk. So it's still the rest
of the day. And we've seen it to the the
future while life came and got it. But they brought
it back to me the next day. I was sort
of shocked they did that, and I got to turn
it loose back where its mom lives. They are at
the health department that I work at.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
That is awesome. We're good. You can stop with it.
You can stop it right there. Well, it was still drunk.
There you go.
Speaker 6 (31:42):
I've had some nights on moonshine. I thought they kind
of relate to this raccoon a little bit.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
Now.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
CPR would also imply mouth to mouth.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
New mouth to mouth, chest compression, and then according to her,
I don't know if this is scientific CPR beating on
its back. It worked though, I don't know if that's
if it's textbook, but I like it.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Right she acts like that that's a regular occurrence, and
let your county act like you just do it. Let
your county.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
I loved it.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
I Drew absolutely loved the story, absolutely love Misty, and
I love that she got to be on national radio.
At first, my producers called her and asked her if
she would come on. She said no, she said I'm
not doing that. So then I was like, let me
call her. So I called her and I was like, Misty,
come on, this will be fun. And she goes, I
don't know anything about sports, and I said, who cares?
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Neither do I let's just do it.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
She then picked games with us Shannon. Every game she
would pick the team that was an animal.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
That makes sense, that checks out. She's an animal lover.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
So I think it was like Falcons Bucks, And I
said who you got? And she goes Falcons and I said, why, well,
it's a bird, of course, I.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Thought she understands a buck's also an animal, right.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Though, No, it's a buccaneer. It's like a pirate.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Oh yeah, see, maybe you shouldn't act like you're so smart.

I was thinking of Milwaukee Bucks.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Yeah, it sounds like, see you think Milwaukee Points football.

As good as the story was, her accent was the
best part though.

Her saving How could you not love her after what
you just heard? That story right there?

I love her and she Letcher County. It should be
very proud of a woman who sees a raccoon and says,
you know what, I'm gonna save it.

one thing you cannot say is that those boys quit.
And I want to encourage everybody to look in the
mirror and if you if you're going to quit on
the cat, then yes you should stay home. You should
