of our we now have a new regional boss. So
this is somebody who's over like the entire UH southeast
of the country, like basically runs all the radio talent
in the southeast of the country. They came here to
meet us today. They separated us. I have to meet

him for lunch, yes, but you all met him before.
They've wanted to separate us, right, which is like you
know what they say, divide and conquer. It's a strategy
of war, it's a strategy of business. So I haven't
met this person yet. You all just met him. You
just met him, what did you think? Very personally, and
he offered a fire you know what.

The first thing he did ask Drew was did you
guys really start in a basement? It was the first

to know about this Jay Lucas and Patrick Patterson thing.

knew there was some sort of recruitment that kind of helped.

to get from Lexington to Louisville.

I don't know what they did, but I sixty four
was just a parking lot from uh it's about Shelbyville.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
I mean it backs up way back.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It was. It was awful. It was awful. I don't
know what you all did here Louisville. Why why is
it happening? And then the thing about all these traffic
jams in Louisville, they never seem to have a reason.

That's it. That's not gonna say.

You never get to a thing that makes sense as
to why they're happening. Because there's never a wreck or something.
It's just you just it's just backed up.

Like there's one time where the three lanes funnel down
to two. That's the only thing I saw. I can't
believe it backed up all the way for that. Something
else happening.

It's gonna take a little while to get here. But

to sleep, and then they went eighteen. You just at
three in the morning.

Played a doubleheader last night.

I tapped out about the ninth inning. I don't think
I made it the extra innings.

I'd say, around the thirteenth I dozed off.

I was trying, but I wasn't gonna fight the eyelids
when they were closing it just I couldn't hang.

For I gave it thirteen. Well I started in like
the eighth, but I gave it from the eighth to
the thirteenth. It was very exciting, right.

Yes, Freddie Freeman went on a walk off in the
bottom of the eighteenth show.

Hal Toddy gets on base nine times. That's crazy man,
nine times. Crazy, first player to ever get four extra
base hits in a World Series game. And then they
intentionally walked him four times, so he ended up getting
on base nine times.

Insane, that's it.

But you know what, it's a World Series record. But
you know that's happened twice before in a baseball No,
I didn't know that, So it was the third time
someone's ever gotten Now, I want to do you feel
like he's the greatest at Do you think he's the
greatest baseball player of all time? Are you ready to put?
I mean, who are the contenders? Right? So the contenders

would be Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth what, Mickey Mantle.

But Babe Ruth only got it pitched and hit.

Do you think you have to pitch and hit to
be the greatest player? Because nobody does that.

To me, that's what puts him over the top everybody else,
the fact he can be a big league pitcher and
maybe the best big league hitter in our game right now.

So are you going to say, are you gonna say
he's the best player of all timeause he's pitching Game four,
doing all that, He's pitching the ninth you.

Get your team to the World Series. Yes, to me,
he's the greatest baseball player ever.

I agree.

I don't think it's close. Because you said no one
else does this, Well, that's the point. He's doing what
no one else does and is excellent at both.

I do? Yeah. I get excited when he comes up
to the plate because like, in any moment, what was
that game in the Championship Series he had three home runs?
I mean, like, the dude is just he's a special
player that we should really be able to appreciate what
we're watching.

I don't even love baseball, but if if Tani's a bat,

You know, I'm not a historian. I can't rank the
best players ever, but I can't even think of anyone
you could say to put ahead of him, Like, what
would the case be for someone else?

I did like last night. Oh I no, I don't
know what it would be. I mean in my lifetime,
I would have said Barry Bonds up until today right
or up until like this year, because I loved watching
Barry Bonds as a kid, and he was good even
before he started roid.

Now yeah, he could hit forty homers and still forty bases.

Yeah, I will say it was difficult to watch a
dude we cut from the Reds in the World Series
last night when when the one guy got hurt, George Springer,
they were like coming to the game, ty France, and
I was like, ty France, I remember that guy from
last year. He's on the team. So that's a little

difficult to watch.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
So he's on the Blue Jays.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
I didn't know he is. I think we got rid
of him at the end of last year and they
had to put him in. They had a pinch runner
last night. Who's the slowest pinch runner I've ever seen?
Did you see that guy? He tried to go from
first to home? He's still all that guy. He got
thrown out by a he did close. Yeah, but I've
enjoyed it. This has been very enjoyable.

Now they played tonight, I mean the game gets over
at three in the morning. They play again tonight.

I liked it. Now equally is important. Are you ready
for next week? You're eating a loane week. We're starting

I've talked it over with the younger girl. Why because
we try to eat dinner together, Like I need to
eat dinner by myself, and I think I think you
said I got to stay an hour by myself there
at the restaurant.

Well, I'm hoping you don't have a clock to count.

Will but you put the stuff watch.

So yeah, have you figured out where you want to go?
What places would you like to go?

Me tell you sure, I'm want to hit all the
neighborhood places, Drakes, Applebee's, El Mariachi.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
There's a Chinese freeing you wherever you want to eat,
and you're picking Applebee's. I wouldn't. I wouldn't do anything,
I understand, But don't you why not try now that
you're doing this new thing, why not try some new places.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, I'm not big on those new places. I like
what I like. Applebee's I think is very underrated. I
think the food of Applebee's is really good.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
All right, Brakes, Applebee's, El Mariachi, where bread you're just
naming Molden. I want to go somewhere that's I mean, Like,
why don't you try new places?

Speaker 3 (10:05):
I think I need to support my my hood where
I live.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
You know, it's not it's about being comfortable here I
see it.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, I think I need to go to waffle House
on Georgetown Road.

There's a lot of new restaurants in Lexity.

Here's the problem, though, we can't I'm asking I can't
tell people where you're going, because then they'll come to
talk to you.

I don't want I don't want that.

You don't want that. This is this is supposed to
enrich your salt.

Rich State Barbecue is right down the road. It's probably
gonna be on my leg.

Continues to say the one about being comfortable. He knows
the people that own these places. And anytime you go
to Applebee's it's basically a little league team just about
to go to a game. Sorry, he'll know the coaches
and the players.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Big Applebee's is just one big little league team. Yes,
this is kind of the kind of place that seems
like a little league place.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Oh yeah, all right, So you're gonna go. How are
you going to spend the hour? Have you thought about?
Are you going to read?

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I think I'm probably just going to watch the game.
Try to go, and there's a game on and just
sit and watch a game and eat.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
So just sit there in silence, Yeah, and watch a game. Yes,
no stimulation.

Well what if somebody comes up and says, hey, Ryan,
what's up?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Okay? Of course they can talk to you, but you
cannot invite sit down.

Won't you sit down and have a cheese stick with you?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
No, you don't get to invite me to sit out.
And you can talk to them, but they need to
move along briskly.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
And cast bar Is off the table.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
He said, right, ks Bar, I'd let you go to
kas Bar on like Tuesday because we're not that crowded. Okay,
So if you want to go on like Tuesday, I'm okay,
but you know you cannot go like wait a minute,
no way, hang on next week. Kentucky plays basketball on
Tuesday and Friday. She can't go Tuesday or Friday. Okay,
I'm doing trivia on Thursday, so you could go Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Matter of fact, I would appreciate that it's Wednesday. It'll
be a little cheaper for me Drew if he wants
to do that. But in general, you're just there to
experience Ryan your inner peace.

And people are like saying Matt's byd you should go
to Tony's Jeffruby's. Like, I'm not gonna do that time.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I'll give you one night of I would.

I wouldn't do that too, I would.

I would night of a Tony S or Jeff Ruby's.
Would you like to have one night of a meal
to sort of spoil yourself?

restaurant like that, had to sit there by yourself. I

Been to Tony's by myself many times. Get the crab cake.

Yeah, I mean we have a former assistant football coaches
that is there probably now at one of those places
by himself. I'm just saying I'll offer that to Okay,

I am not. No, I have not you me me
if you saw me at dinner last night. I was
with yoga girl, Josiah and his new lady friend.

Speaker 2 (12:50):

I prefer, that's what I wouldn't want to do.

But I might fall asleep. If I'm laying there motionless

So Ryan made it sound like he knew the story,
but it was actually Ryan that told us the correct.

We discussed everything Ryan said, We discussed, but we offered
the information to him, and then we discussed.

information he did.

I wasn't gonna correct him or our boss. I don't
want to make it sound like an annoying about us,
but like, yeah, that's a different that's a different take

I was thinking, our boss did all this research on us,
and it sounds like Ryan did.

Ryan's just made that up. Well, I don't want to
say he did zero research. He knew there was a website,

was traditional media.

I kind of think in his mind, Ryan already turned
it into that that he knew him.

No, he just wanted to know what made the blog
kind of take over for traditional medium.

And I didn't know Ryan took that well. And the
person said, Matt, you and Drew need to pick the restaurants.
He's just trying to go to places where he'll know people.

doesn't get to go to restaurants on Lee's Town Road.

I need people to know these restaurants he named that's
where I live. You lived, I've been in all of
them a million times.

son was at Big Blue Madness was one of the
kids that was chosen to be one of the honorary

assistant coaches, and he actually got the He was the
one that judged the dunk contest. But on the elevator
ride down, it was a Jason Hart. I was talking
with him and my son actually was wearing a great cross.
We're from Georgetown, and I mentioned to him. I said, hey,
you know, we're from Georgetown. You know, we're really big

fans of Alaca. And I said, you know, we've heard
a lot of good things about him, and he said
that he arrived on campus physically prepared and had actually
packed on twenty four pounds since arriving on campus.

But it looks like, so what's your question?

Oh no, that was just my comment. I just I
think that that has a I know what to ask
anything Tuesday. But I'm actually a podcast listener. The last
time I called in was back when Ryan Timmins, all right, well,
I appreciate it for football, Well, I appreciate the call.
He does look like he's he has put on. I mean,
I can't get over drew how different he is from

two years ago when he played in the high school
state tournament. I mean, I and.

This goes to show that some time with these younger guys,
you can't just take your initial view and go with it.
Because I left the high school state tournament going I
don't see how that kids ranked twenty fourth in the country,
and then didn't watch him play last year until the
the what was it the Nike Classic or whatever that
he played in. I was like, Okay, he's gotten better,

but he's infinitely better, and he'll play a lot this
year and he's gonna be great, definitely.

He's always been skilled and had the size advantage and
knew there was potential. But even like I feel like
I watched him a a at a game at Lexington
Catholic his senior year somewhere in person. I don't remember
the exact moment, everythinking this guy's good, but he will
get thrown around in.

What I thought too just too thin. There was a
first rowing around by Lyon County and the tallest dude
was like six', three AND i, thought there's just this
didn't go to. Work, yeah and that to him for bulking,
