This is Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now
here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Welcome everyone in Kentucky Sports Radio, Wednesday, November the fifth.
I am Matt Jones here in just rural Connecticut. Ready
for what is I think a very positive day. After
a few days of hand ringing around the UK fan base,
you can give Shanthon Clark's pumpings up phone line that

(00:58):
is eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven.
A Vision Auto glass text machine is seven seven two
seven seven four five two five four In this dish
sponsored by the TJ. Smith Lofas you call TJL, make
them pay the Cats get you know, not the prettiest
win in the history of basketball, but a victory last
night over Nickels. It was a terrible first half, one

(01:21):
of the worst offensive first halves I can remember Kentucky
playing in a long time, although defensively they played fairly well.
But then in the second half turned it up. Scored
nearly fifty points, win seventy seven fifty one and get
what may very well end up being the signature play
of the year in the Colin Chandlers second half dunk,

(01:44):
Ryan Drew. I watched the first half live before I
had to go to a get together and was pretty
bummed out by what I saw. Didn't get to see
the second half until after, like late in the night,
so I watched it on replay. Much more pleased about

(02:05):
the second half. So how do you rate the overall experience?

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Ryan?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
In the first half that was kind of miserable, but
the second half that actually was a lot of fun.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
How do you come out of it?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Well, feel bad for you having to watch that first
half before you go to an audience or something that
was ugly. I mean, twenty eight to fifteen, neither team
could do anything. But I think the second half, when
you put Denzel Aberdeen to point guard, you see how
things are supposed to be. You know, the whole offense
looked one hundred times better when Colin's playing off the
ball and Denzel's playing the point guard. That's that's when

(02:34):
things really turned around.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah, it's clear that the team needs a point guard,
it needs a person to run the offense. And then
Colin Chandler needs to not be the point guard. And
then the second half we got and he needs to
get to a wing spot to be better. And it
was nice Drew seeing that in you know, practice in
the second half last night.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
Yeah, we've wondered who who could play point guard behind
Lownder that all summer, and you know Colin Chandler was
in the mix. I think last night we learned. I
don't think we know. Pope even said after the game
his natural spots at two and that's where he needs
to be. In the first half, when he had the
ball in his hands, that's when things were stagnant. They
just weren't moving it around and getting the offense going
like Pope's likes. But the moment where he slid over

(03:18):
and he was more of a reactor than a decision maker.
That's when the offense really got going and got started
making shots.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Yeah, so let's start with the first half. I mean,
first of all, defensively, let's say something positive. Fifteen points.
It's like the third fewest points ever in rupp Aerna
in a half. In a first half, I thought they
played excellent defense. I mean, what if you want to
take some optimism from the game, even the first half,

(03:43):
you could say this is a defense that is good,
that travels.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Now.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
You know, they struggle a little bit against Georgetown, but
I still think in most games that defense is gonna
be good. They got length, they got they they're pretty
good at sliding their feet. Defensively, they're going to lock down.
Had a lot of teams Offensively, I'm not sure they
could have looked worse.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Than they did in the first half.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
They no ball movement at all, and when they got
open shots, and they got a lot of them, Ryan,
they didn't make any of them. I mean they were
at one point, what at halftime one for twelve?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Is that what the one for fourteen from three?

Speaker 2 (04:18):
I think and Pope talked about it after the game
about just too much dribbling. You know, guys were just
not running on just the ball kind of died in
their hand, just dribble, dribble, dribble.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Driven and they would just shoot and it wouldn't work.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
But then you get to the second half and the addition
of Aberdeen is the difference. And after the game, Mark
Pope says, Jayleen Lowe is gonna play in the next game,
So now he's gonna get his debut, and I think
you're gonna see a completely different offense.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
But you could just see how different it was.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Guys got in the right spots, looked like, oh wait,
didn't have to press as much. And then Chandler hits
four threes in the second half, as the founding member
of the Colin Chandler Fan Club drew, I mean members
was shaky. I would say by halftime you had people
like asking if they could get their money back.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
They were uh.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
There was a lot of negativity, and then in that
second half you got some redemption.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
I'll even say throughout the preseason at our meetings, I
was buying too many donuts. I was taking a lot
of food home. We weren't filling all the chairs. I'd
put out our fan club meetings, people were down in
that at halftime. I even had a few people come
up in reperna and pat me on the back saying
hang in there, and I kept saying, no, you hang
in there. We're fine, We're right where we need to be.
And then that second half when he got his natural position,

(05:34):
which has been my point all along. He's being asked
to do things he's not going to be doing later
in the season, so that's not great as hard when
he got over to the two where he needs to be,
he did not miss a shot, went three for three
from the three point line, and then had the number
one play on Sports Center. So the Colin Chandler fan
Club's doing just fine. I will add, we're currently a
little overwhelmed with new applications, so please be patient moving forward.

(05:56):
Could be three to five business days where I get
you processed, but we're in business.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah, well done. Well I am gonna I'm gonna say
that I am. I'm pretty optimistic about the team, especially
after the second half. I needed to see though that
half Ryan with with the with Aberdeen running offense, I
needed to see that, you know, I didn't get to
see it till late but I needed to see it

(06:21):
because I was really concerned with you know, you go back.
Produce said they didn't really scout. I don't know how
much that's true or not. But then all of a sudden,
since that game, our offense had just been a disaster,
really throughout three halves, and now it may just be
as simple as having a person who knows how to

(06:41):
run the point. You know, there's other things I think
will get better. I do not think Trent No was
gonna shoot this poorly the whole game. I don't know
about Cam Williams. You know, people have gotten on me
for being concerned. I'm still concerned about him, and I
think he's gonna end up being the person left out
if when this whole roster is full, if he's not careful.
But I feel better about other guys. You know, I

(07:03):
thought Diabaatee looks good all night. Oh wait, better in
the second half. You just gotta have that point guard.
And we saw the same thing last year. I don't
know why we're surprised because last year when we lost
our point guards Ryan, the exact same thing kind of happened.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
That's the value of a strong point guard man the
ball movement is so much better. Did the execution is
so much better. Then you get a little confidence, then
no shots start going down, then things start feeling good again.
I mean that first half mad. They couldn't even catch
the ball? Was it all way one time? Couldn't even
you couldn't even catch it, went right out of bounds.
I mean, they were just so out of sync the
first half. It all came together when En Denzel in
the game in the second half.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Well, I was now talk to me about the dunk.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
You're there, Drew The dunk was the number one play
on Sports Center. The pictures that came from it of
him snarling. I didn't know, Shannon, Mormons were allowed to
snarl like.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
That did And I didn't know that Colin could jump
like that.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Well I did, I'd seen him jump like that. Nowing
it back is a whole other Are Mormons allowed to
snarl like that? I thought that that. I always thought
of that as not a Mormon thing. I thought they
were through much much kinder. That was a that was
a mean snarl, that was like, that was a Church

(08:17):
of God snaw snarl right there.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
That was a whole other thing.

Speaker 6 (08:21):
Yeah, And he said something to him too. And I've
even spent the morning trying to zoom in and lead
his read his lips. I couldn't get it. But I
need to know what I need to know what Elder
Chandler said after he punched on.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Yeah, he didn't.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
He didn't. Did he prayer to you? Let me say
something I'll pray for you would be a.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
I'll pray for you.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
That would be a great thing to say. If the reactions,
I need to rank the reactions of people on the
on the court, and on the sideline. First of all,
Brandon Garrison, his mouth is awesome, the little just the
face he makes in the moment, you've got cam Williams
falls to the ground. Have you seen that in the background,

(09:05):
he just falls to the ground like he falls to
the ground like he shot. Then Jalen Lowe falls into
the to the to the walk Ons and even Mark Pope.
You can't really see Mark Pope's reaction on camera, but
Mark Pope says he wishes he had a picture of
his face when he did it.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Is this go down drew as one of the great
dunks in Kentucky history.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
I mean, we we we do this sometimes we have
the ones over the years, Dirk Minifield, James Young and
the NCAA Tournament, Glenn Azabuki, Willie Cauley Stein against Florida.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Uh, you know, there's a handful. Is this one on
the list now?

Speaker 6 (09:44):
And it's definitely in the conversation. I don't I don't
like doing this ranking with Minifield involved, because that is
its own that will never be top, that's that's its
own category.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Do you think, though, that's a camera angle thing or
do you think it really defied the laws of physics?

Speaker 6 (09:58):
He really seems to just jump again right when he
gets to old Guy's chin on his way up. But
all the other dunks, all of them in rupperena, at
least there. I think there's been some better outside of opperna,
anyone that's happened in rapperena. Colin Chandler is squarely in
the mix and could even be two behind Minifield.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Yeah, I'm trying to think of the rupperena ones.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Okay, So, because you're right, Willie's was out of the arena, James.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Willie had three. I think they're all on the road
is tournament win. There's Florida he didn't get as many in.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Rup has a great one against the guy Georgia.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
Michael Kidd Gilchrist killed a guy from Portland.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Yes, you're exactly right that one. That one's Darius Miller
has one like that too, Miss. Yes, Michael Kidd, Gilchrist
and Darius Miller have And then I want to say, Ryan,
doesn't Kalinna have one like that?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Somewhere in rub.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Oh it was unbelievable. He was just a freshman and
he jumped up where his head was like even with
the grim against Yep, a good memory it was. I
was there.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Ohway had a nasty one last year against a and m.
Chandlers is better. But we were having this same conversation
last season with Owin.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Yeah, well, Chandler's is pretty amazing, and I think I
think part of it is the way he had struggled.
I think that makes it a little bit more exciting.
But just as important Ryan to me than the dunk
as the four threes, especially the three in the second
half in rhythm. Like, the thing that was driving me
crazy about the Georgetown game and the first half of

(11:33):
this game is they have got to make those open threes.
Mark Pope's offense is going to give them open threes.
It did last year, but now with the way these
guys can penetrate and kick, they're gonna have a ton
of open threes and they cannot I sound like cal
they can't miss them all.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
They just cannot miss them all.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
There was one point where Williams, Noah and Chandler were
combined one for seven after going two for fifteen in
the last game. You just cannot miss them all. Or
I mean, we still went seven for twenty nine as
a team. We just have to do better than that.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, I think if I remember right, Chandler opened the
game by missing his first couple threes and they were
wide open, Like he had wide open looks and couldn't
knock him down to start the game. I don't know,
he just I think he did as a point guard.
He was just pressing himself, just trying to do too much.
He was getting beat on defense. There was nothing he
could do right that first half, but then just seemed
to settle down when they moved him off the ball
in the second half.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Chandon, I don't know if other people got to watch
the game. Did I hear you did get the YouTube
thing shut down?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
No, that is not true. First of all, there were
like two or three different links, so if one did
go down for a few minutes, you just jump over
to the other one. But the numbers normally are like
around two or three thousand. I look last night, it
was up to twenty five thousand people streaming.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Right, So you did that and you're saying they never
took it down because I had messages that it got
taken down.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
It depends on which one you were watching. I mean
there was a way I said there were two or
three different ones. So if and got shut down and
you just go, well, that's it. I guess I don't
get to watch the second half. That's on you for
not looking around for another link. Don't blame me for
it that.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
There was one guy who was doing his own like
little commentary during the streaming and it started buffering, and
I guess people started messaging it's KSR, and he's like,
what's KSR? Who is this KSR.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Guy who was doing the commentator?

Speaker 2 (13:21):
I guess people the guy like streams it, the guy
who does the stream is he calling the game? He'd say, oh, great.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Move, Yeah yeah, he wasn't calling it. He would just
like chime in with like comments It's like you're watching
the game with your buddy, you know.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
Now, did I hear somebody was trying to raise money
while they were doing it? That was him.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
He was taking all these cash apps and were people.
I did I send him a little money?

Speaker 5 (13:43):
I mean you gave him money?

Speaker 6 (13:44):
Wait, you wouldn't give ESPN money.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Wait just a second, hang on, I was about to
make fun of people giving him money.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
You gave him money.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, because when you donate the money, he'd say, you know, hey,
thanks Matt, thanks for the donation. Hey, wait a minute,
you have the radio I wanted to hear.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
Hang On, I gotta explore this. I gotta explore this
with Ryan.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
That that Ryan giving a YouTube streamer money for showing
the game that he could have bought is maybe the
most Ryan thing I've been.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
But when I got the shout out from the YouTube game, No, hang.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
On, I gotta explore this with you when we get back.
This is more interesting to me than the dunk is
you giving?

Speaker 5 (14:27):
Don't you? You don't even know this guy. He could
he could be a scammer.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
No, but he was doing us all favored by streaming
the game.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
And what he's gonna do with your information.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
Hey man, I like how most people get a VPN
to hide their location when they watch these things. And
Ryan's like, I need a pay per trail. I want
people to know.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Admitting to paying for pirated material. That is, Yeah, this
is unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
That's true. It'll kill the little man. But right, but
Shannon apparently didn't kill the little man.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
You know, he helped him out and Ryan kept it.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
You puffed his gas and you changed his flat. All right,
So let's go back to this.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
The streamer helped me understand what's happening because I actually
turned on a minute of it when I was in
the car. The streamer is streaming the game, yep, and
he's just talking, right, So he's like, oh, good shot. Yeah,
what's what's his name?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Sports Live Reactions.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
That's not a person's name.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Sports Live react that that's who the streamer was. Sports
Live reaction.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
Do you know where he's where he's located?

Speaker 2 (15:39):
No idea?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
All right? What made you give him money?

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Well, you know, somebody cut your hair, give him a tip,
somebody does bring your food. You give him a tip.
I was giving him a little tip. He was providing
a game for me.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
I thought that was what what method did you use
to pay him?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Cash app? He was you just posting his cash app? Yeah,
posting his cash app and he's venmo and whatever?

Speaker 5 (16:02):
How much did you give it?

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Ten dollars?

Speaker 6 (16:05):
This is my favorite thing that's ever happened in dam
in history.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Couldn't you get the stream from you? Because just seven?

Speaker 6 (16:11):
And didn't you pay sling on Saturday?

Speaker 7 (16:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (16:13):
But why didn't you just get ESPN so you can
just watch every game like normal?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
I wanted to help out. He's a hard working man.
I wanted to help him out.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
He's not hardworking.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
He didn't do any He's in there watching the game
like you are.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
I felt like I was watching with my buddy. He's like,
oh man, great move by always not your buddy.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
He doesn't, he doesn't, he doesn't? Does now?

Speaker 3 (16:29):
You pay us?

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Now?

Speaker 6 (16:31):
So are you gonna pay every game? Just a different
form of entertainment?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Maybe why this is a little thing is going on?

Speaker 5 (16:36):
And you gave him ten dollars?

Speaker 4 (16:38):
If you remember we told you you could get it
for seven dollars.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Yeah, I got it for seven game before, so.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
You're in for seventeen dollars for two games. For two
you can get the whole month, in the whole ESPN.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I just like, I just want to give a little tip.
Obviously a ton of other UK fans were doing the
same thing, because he was constantly like A and N,
thanks Matthew for the he gave him ten dollars.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
You gave him ten dollars. And then what happened? He
said your name?

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, he says, you know, hey, thanks Ryan, Thanks, thanks
for the thanks for the donation, and that's all I says,
thanks Ryan, Yeah, every time.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Woman to you so much.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
I mean, you have been on broadcasting, you have been
on television or radio now for over thirty years. I
would assume you're used to your name and your your
image being said. Why did this random kid saying your
name matter to you?

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Do hear Sports Live Reactions say, it just was one
of the highlights of my.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Career Sports Live Reactions.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Who is Sports Live Reaction's.

Speaker 6 (17:41):
New best friend is At any moment did you think
about how he is in the process of committing a
federal crime and you're paying him and putting your name
on it.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Well, that's why I was kind of complimenting even way
to go.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
That broadcast.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
You should google. I think it's the Protecting Lawful Streaming Act.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Yeah, I mean did you consider that, Like, you now
have a cash record, electronic record of you giving an
illegal streamer money and encouraging him on his behavior.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Nope. But tell you what when his stream went out
and I went to the other stream, if he was
taking cash AFP, I made a cash at him too.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Oh wait, wait wait a minute, wait, wait, wait a minute,
you cash app two people?

Speaker 2 (18:23):
No, the other second guy was not soliciting tips, but
if he was anyway, no, he did way to give
it to that guy. It was like DK races and
you spent.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
More money than if you had just if you had
just bought the app that.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Could just tip tip your people that are providing you
a service.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
But now you don't have anything. You could have ESPN
all day today if you wanted it. There's more games.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Here's the other thing you have nothing. Not only is
their money trail, but now you're on the radio admitting
to doing it.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
That's true. I kind of just threw them under the bus.

Speaker 6 (18:55):
And uh yeah, it's only about positive sports.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
I think sports reaction eyes now like, well we know
where he is.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Yep, Brian's gonna make it to the second hour.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
The police.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Are you are unbelievable. I mean you really are, like,
like there your brain.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
It's just fascinating to me because it continues to be
your brain, like it never stops being you.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
You know, you don't just be a nice to the guy.
He's providing the game for a lot of UK fans. Yeah,
I'll help him out a little bit.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
But I want to I want to know he's not
doing anything. He's literally just hooking it up to his
cable like he's just he has like, oh, Shandon, I
don't know the technology he has, like a cord, right,
he just he's just taking it and just putting what's
on the television on his competit.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Ry is assisting and encouraging this behavior.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
You forget he had audio connected to it. He had
a little lower third go running on with these cash
app he had a lot of.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
That was really you know what he's gonna do with
this money? You know much about him? Is he character?

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Maybe? How much do you think he made? Like you
said a lot.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Of ten dollars he made. If he made ten more
than ten dollars, I will be shocked.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I'd say he read at least fifty to sixties names
that people didn't send him money.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Okay, so let's just imagine if fifty people send him
ten dollars.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
I mean that's five hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Yeah, that's just streaming a game.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
For streaming a game, now, I would picture to say, Shannon,
most people didn't send him ten dollars.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Oh yeah, I didn't send anything. I was just watching
him commit the crime. I didn't encourage it. I didn't.
I didn't donate to the crime.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
But he's the guy that threw KSR said, Hey, what's wrong?
Who is this KSR guy? What's wrong? KSR? Why are
they doing this to my stream?

Speaker 4 (20:40):
So they're not even like he's not even a Kentucky guy.
Because he was a Kentucky guy. Who's a good chance
he would know what ks are.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
No, he just knows we have a big fan base
that will watch him donate.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Did you hear my name, Shannon, you were watching that stream?
Do you hear him say my name?

Speaker 3 (20:55):
I didn't hear it.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Right, you are a child.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
We can give you a shoutout, Chile.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
Did you hear my name?

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Say my name? Save my name?

Speaker 5 (21:04):
Unbelievable?

Speaker 4 (21:07):
It really is what person rights, Matt. That guy is
an Arkansas fan. He only streams Kentucky and Arkansas games,
and during the Arkansas games he says, go hog. So
not only did Ryan give him money, he gave an
Arkansas fan money.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
He's praying on you, Ryan, I didn't know that's part
of the story. I mean not I mean getting only
five dollars out of ten dollars. That's not watching again
Friday night. I'm liable to send you more money Friday
night to go.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
To the bar. Why don't you go to the bar
Friday night?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
It's will yes it is, and they have the game on.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
And they have the game and you could put get beer.
Yeah yeah, so you know who works for us and
who could use it, Like, why give it to this
random guy?

Speaker 6 (21:51):
They're doing actual work, not just stealing the internet at all.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
He was working hard, he was commentating on the game.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Sure he was working hard. If I'm nine two eight
twenty two eighty.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Seven, what person writes Matt, have you you've all been at
all disappointed at otega Oway this year?

Speaker 5 (22:05):
Well? I have not, But I.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Also don't believe otega Oway is you know, first team
All American score.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
I think otega Oway is is Otakeoway.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
I mean if you look at his final stats last night,
he had like thirteen points and six rebounds or whatever.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
That's otaga Oway, Like, that's what he is.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
That's why it's been so important to me that Jalen
Low be good because I don't think otega Oway is
gonna become a twenty point a game score.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
I just don't.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
So what he was last night is what he is.
So if you want to be good, we gotta get fifteen.
I've said, I think Jalen Low has to be our
leading scorer if we're gonna be really good. Now, he
hasn't played yet, but I don't know that he's been
all that disappointing because this is exactly what I think
he is, and that's hugely important. But I think you

(22:55):
gotta have another star, and that's Low. We'll take a break.
Take your calls if I'm not two eight oh twenty
two eighty.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
If a KSR TJ.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ, He'll make them pay.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Now.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's
Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio. I mean we had a
big game, appreciated. Most people are wanting to talk about Ryan.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
I'm most people yeah, texting me that they heard my
name though.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Wow, that that's hilarious to me too. That's actually more
funny to me than anything. Is that you wanted your
name said by this random kid. Fake David Beckham says,
you're missing the point with Ryan. He basically paid the
guy ten dollars because he felt like a buddy watching
the game with me. Does he hate being alone this much?

(23:48):
Did you feel like you were with a friend?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Well, I was with younger girl. We were watching the game,
but I felt like, you know, you know, just a
buddy watch the game. You know, Hey, great move, take
a good job.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
You can give me ten dollars. I'll call you and say.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Hey, Ryan, let's put the phone down by my ear.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
And even mentioned you. I could even mention you on
the postgame show.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
That'd be good.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
He didn't even say your last name either. Man, there
could be any Ryan.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
That's true.

Speaker 6 (24:10):
Yeah, pay more for that.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
One person writes, Man, I don't know why you don't
do this. If you just said people's name during the
postgame show, you could get a ton of people to tip.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
That's probably true.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
That's very much.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I would yeah, I mean I just feel bad.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
I mean, like I've thought about over the years, when
I was when I was still trying to decide whether
I was gonna renew with that heart, I kind of
was wondering about maybe doing it.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
On my own and doing that kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
And but you know, I mean, we do well, and
I think that's a little bit of just taking people's money.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
I mean, clearly this guy didn't mind shit it with Ryan.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
I would take Ryan's money. I'll say your name.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
But they're boys, they're watching the game. Go yeah, that's different.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Well, uh, if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven, who's up first?

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Shitting Todd?

Speaker 5 (24:57):
Todd? Go ahead, Todd, Good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 7 (25:02):
I got home last night and went straight tough YouTube
to see if the game was on, and I clicked
on the live app or the live section, and the
first three things were the UK basketball game popped up
and both of them both streams are right there together.
So one was like pr Islam was the streaming and
the other one was the one Ryan money too.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
There was an Islam stream.

Speaker 7 (25:28):
Yes, it had like it had like twenty one thousand views.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
There were twenty people watching the Islam stream.

Speaker 7 (25:37):
Yes, what didot.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
What do they do on the Islam stream?

Speaker 7 (25:42):
I have no clue. I didn't click on anything. I
just watched it.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
It was just wow, that's amazing. This whole new world.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Shannon is introduced to this illegal but black marking games. Yeah,
they have complete Shannon has completely introduced big blue.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Name to the dark web of UK basketball.

Speaker 7 (26:03):
But go ahead, Yeah, he's making millionaires on the black web.
But I want to say, Colin chandler Is dunk reminded
me of Kenny Skywalker a little bit.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
So yeah, I mean he the way he cocked it back,
and I appreciate the call. I mean, that's you have
to be Drew really athletic to pull off a dunk
like that, just to be in the air long enough
and to hang your body like that, like I mean,
you know, we've talked about that, he's really athletic. He's
I mean, that was obvious even last year. But if

(26:32):
you if there was anybody still wondering, they don't wonder now,
I wouldn't think no.

Speaker 6 (26:37):
And we knew he had that athleticism, but just to
do it in a game, in like a half court set.
The guy jumped with him. He jumped kind of far
out off two feet and you're talking about the reactions.
I love Ohway covers his eyes before Chandler even coxsh b.
It's like Ohway saw it before anyone else there saw it.
And I think just being in the game made it
so much better.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Yeah, I mean you could.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
You could just tell they knew what was coming, and
they were They were very excited and they should have been.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
That was that was. That was one for the ages.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
I have one more thing for the Ryan discussion because
I don't want to leave it. It comes from Jacob
on Twitter. He made a good point. Ryan noted that
as soon as you tipped him, the stream went out
and you went to another stream, so like you paid
him and then it was gone.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Yeah. Yeah, he was having some troubles and even tried
to on the stream, was trying to show us how
he's trying to rectify it and it was working well.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Part of that, I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
I didn't know how direct from payment to you getting
kicked off.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
If it was just it was se and a half
lated problem.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
I think what happened is he got the payment, he
was like, well, now I got this guy's baking.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Yeah, I'm out.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
Why I'm out, let's go. Let's so you're saying there
were multiple streams. One of them had twenty thousand people.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Oh, they all had twenty thousand.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Yeah, I mean, it's like sick, You're you're telling me
there were sixty thousand people watching.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah, and like I said, normally it's like two maybe
three thousand. So we get them, you know, quite a
bump on his viewership.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
That's unbelievable. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Well, I mean, you know, USPN and YouTube TV may
have created this entire secondary.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
They're gonna end up getting all these people kicked out. Well,
what they get too big.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
What that tells me is you got at least sixty
thousand people who are YouTube TV subscribers who are no
longer subscribers if they're.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Going to well or at least Kate. I'm like, for me,
I'm a YouTube TV subscriber. I haven't gotten rid of
it yet.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Well, that's true. There could be people that still haven't.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
But I mean, but I will say if it goes
all that much longer, I'm just gonna be like, well,
what's the point, right, I kind of in my view,
this is gonna like I want cable back like cable worked.
The thing is, we got rid of cable to end
up with all these streaming companies, and now I think

(28:51):
what everybody wants is a streaming company that puts all
these back together shit.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
Essentially, we want cable again.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
We want it the way it was again, with the
way it was before. We'll circle with this whole thing.

Speaker 5 (29:03):
We can come full circle. That's exactly right.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Cable and Direct like I literally just just got rid
of Direct TV like two months ago, and now I
kind of wish I had it because they.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Didn't do this.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
You didn't have to find, you know, search to find
the channels. It was all right there.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
But part of it is ESPN now knows they have
all the cards because since they have their own direct
to consumer app. I think they think, like, we don't
need these cable companies anymore. Now I don't know if
that's true, but I think it's what they think. And
so that's why I think this one hasn't resolved, like
most of these end up doing.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
What's next. Let's go to Mike, Mike, go ahead, Mike.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
Hey, Matt, can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (29:44):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (29:46):
So, as a former TLS and Sarah graduate, I just
wanted to congratulate you on Middlesborough's big win this past weekend.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Thank you very much. We're still celebrating.

Speaker 8 (29:56):
So what I what I just did right there, Matt.
That's called humility and grace, and that seems to be
something that you are completely devout of. Whenever you talk
about TLS and Sayer on the show, I can no
longer hang on.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Just you went to both TLS and Sayer. Yes, okay,
so like so you listen. I have multiple friends that
went to SAYER, and I have some good friends that
have their kids at TLS now. So it's not like animosity,
but there is a little sense of those of us
who grew up in a rural area, you would understand

(30:31):
us just sort of seeing you all as the one percent,
and we get more I don't know what we would say,
we get more sort of excitement in beating you.

Speaker 8 (30:43):
Yeah, sure whatever. Also, I want to congratulate you on
the Zoo Mondami winning the election. I know that's pretty
big for you.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
I'm not a huge Zora guy, but of the candidates,
I was fine with him.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
I mean, although I did like the guy with the hat.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
I thought he was good, But uh no, I mean,
he's not my form of politics necessarily, but I think
there's a lot of lessons in him winning. He focused
on like people's the cost of living and all that stuff,
a lot of things Trump did, so I think there's
a lot of lessons for people as to why he won.
But he's not like, I'm not a socialist, so I mean,
that's not he's not exactly like me.

Speaker 8 (31:18):
Yeah, I understand. I don't want to get too political.
Thanks for having me on that go culture.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (31:23):
And uh go ponies whiskey.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Thief call today right there? I think, yeah, they'll take it.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
Yeah that was see.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Now that's a good call because he's kind of Ryan.
He's kind of giving me a hard time, but he's
doing it in a good natured way.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
So I like that.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Giving you the business about your Jackets.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Yeah, but you can say, I mean, Shannon, if it's
Jackets versus if it's Middlesbrough versus Sayer, Yeah, who's.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Rooting for Sayer? That didn't go to Sayer? Who's root
for the rich private school?

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Nobody?

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Like when they make movies like Hoosier, Well not Hoosier's necessarily,
but when they make movies with like they don't. People
don't cheer for the rich private school, cheer for the
they're the villains. You cheer for the public school, maybe
the one in the inner city or the one in
the mountains.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
Like that's what you do, Ryan, that's who you cheer for.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
You don't cheer for the one where all the kids,
you know, parents are like investment bankers.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, it's Middlesborough slash East Tennessee. That's who you're playing against.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
See there you go with the chieving again. Why do
you do that?

Speaker 6 (32:28):
In all time wins Sayers probably at the bottom of
the entire state. So they're an underdog, they're they're the
little guy.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
But they're that's like arguing Lexton Christians the underdog. These
schools that are recent like whatever, they put a lot
of money into it, and good for them.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
I'm not whining. I'm just saying.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
When a group of mountain kids who've been out there,
you know, working in the mines and then they come
play football, Shannon, they should root for them.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Yeah, they're the underdog. It's the underdog story.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
That's exactly right. I think they sent me the wrong ad, Shinnon.
I think they sent me yesterday's but DraftKings zumbo, so
I can do that. Let's do it, but you need
to send me the other ones back. The NBA is back.
We won two of three on the KSR parlay Drew Lonks,
but the other two one and a new season means
new ways into the action. At DraftKings sports Book, official

(33:19):
sports betting partner of the NBA, Drew and I will
be doing college basketball parlays all year long, and you
can do them also for the NBA. Bet five dollars
to get two hundred dollars in bonus bets. It's DraftKings.
The code is ks R. Customers get two hundred and
bonus bets with DraftKings and DraftKings dot com. For additional
terms responsible gaming resources, see dknng dot co slash b ball.

(33:42):
We did get three or four in the first night,
and you know, Drew, college basketball is hard, especially spread
because because the free throws at the end, it's hard
to know.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
Oh me, we got I shouldn't have I shouldn't have
bet the other BB in United Tip Off Classic game.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Yeah, that was your problem, you BB, and I did
Duke and I did Georgia Southern and you went with
the BBN United tip Off Classic.

Speaker 6 (34:02):
Those games are always well Kentucky didn't cover It didn't
presented by Kentucky Turism. Neither favorite covered in the bb
United tip Off Classic presented by Kentucky Turrism.

Speaker 5 (34:10):
It's right, we'll take a break, be right back to
Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio a five nine, two, eight
oh twenty two eighty seven text machine.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
A lot of people writing it about our guy Ryan.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
What person writes, why does Ryan get more excited about
a random streamer mention his name than when Tom Hart.

Speaker 5 (34:31):
Mentions his name. That's a good question.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
I mean, Tom Hart, that's on the actual broadcast. But
I don't think it would have made you this excited.

Speaker 7 (34:40):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
I do get excited when Tom mentions a KSR dropped
or I can't deny that he was texting me during
these I gotta look it up.

Speaker 6 (34:48):
You owe him ten dollars?

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Then I think I owe him ten dollars.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
You know, Matt and all of us say your name
on the show every day. It's got a few people listening.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
I think he forgets he's on the radio.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
Yeah, I mean there's more people listening to this then
on the.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Stream, Tom sent me a text he liked my goat
joke the other day. That's what it was.

Speaker 5 (35:07):
Oh you're what your your bar or whatever? He was
the one. Yeah, still he was the only one. The
second time didn't make it any better.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Uh, I know this was your guy for a long time, Drew,
Lil Wayne tweeted about Colin Chandler's dunk. That had to
make you happy because I remember you. I don't know
if you still are, but you used to be a
little Wayne guy.

Speaker 6 (35:34):
There was a point in my life where it was
a bit of an obsession. In fact, you might have
restraining order against me. Then he got a little weird,
big feeling.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
I remember at this at the same time, you and
my ex were both huge Little Wayne fans, and I
didn't understand it. But now like he's he's he's We
thought he was all in on the Cats because of
cow but maybe he's also in just period for tweeting
about Colin Chandler.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (35:59):
Other than Ryan telling me he paid for this guy
on YouTube, the Lil Wayne sweets been my favorite part
of everything coming out of last night. It goes back
to my childhood. I was listening to Lil Wayne when
I probably shouldn't have been listening to Lil Wayne burning
all the CDs, huge fan And then when Cal kind
of brought him in, I loved it, and I worried
that he might, you know, leave, like a lot of
celebrities probably did when Cal left. But I love that

(36:19):
he's still all in on the Pope operation and Colin
Chandler specifically, and I look forward to seeing Lil Wayne
at our next meeting with the fan club.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
I can't ask you guys a question. What does it
mean when he says, oh my lamb. It's like a
thing like I've never heard that before Colin Chandler, oh
my lamb.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Well, I mean, I have no idea, but you know
most people would say oh my, then they might say
like god, and lamb is often used, okay.

Speaker 6 (36:50):
Instead of saying oh my gosh or oh my goodness,
oh my Atlanta, oh my lamb. You never heard that.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I've never heard that, oh my lamb. Oh Milanta, Oh
oh Milanta.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
I haven't heard that either.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Did you get that's when on the body. Remember we
saved that as a drop.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
I never got that's right in London? Nice? All right?

Speaker 4 (37:17):
So on a serious note before we get back to
the phones, what happened in Louisville yesterday just uh, you know,
an absolute tragedy. I was mesmerized for a couple of
hours kind of following the story online. I think according
to Governor Basher, I think there are nine people uh

(37:39):
dead now, and they're still maybe sixteen that they're not
sure about. The plane crash is just awful. I mean,
the three people on the on the crew, that's terrible.
It was going from Louisville to Hawaii, so it had
probably about as much fuel as you could have. And
then you know, I haven't heard to see did it.

(38:01):
I know it crashed into those buildings. Did it hit
any chanting residential areas do we know?

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Not that I've seen. I think mostly just commercial businesses,
you know.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
But the videos are astounding. I mean they really are.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
The video did you see the video the guy the truck,
he's sitting in the truck. I mean that one because
I just I just think about what if you were
that guy and you're just sitting in your truck and
all of a sudden you.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
See that behind you. That is unfathomable to me. And
you know, the.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Fireball Louisvill's out of school. It affected the entire city.
You know, what do you say in these things except
prayers to everybody involved. I know there are families who
still don't necessarily know where their loved ones are. I
can't imagine how that is. And we're thinking about you.

(38:55):
And also, you know, to the first responders, that was
a chaotic scene. You know, lots of buildings on fire,
fuel in the air. I'm sure there is still some
danger from that. I don't know the science to know,
but it can't be good.

Speaker 5 (39:14):
It's just awful.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
And I've said this before, but our state has had
to deal with more of these things than I think
are our fair share, whether it's weather or now this,
and you know, it's just it's just terrific. So I
know the community will rally around them.

Speaker 5 (39:35):
That's what we do.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
I know, the city of Louisvilleville, I know, you know,
even the I mean ups has been a big part
of the state. I know that everybody will do the
best they.

Speaker 5 (39:47):
Can on it. But my prayers are with everyone.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
The scenes yesterday were, you know, Ryan, they were out
of like a movie. You couldn't believe you were seeing
it in places that you knew. And I'm actually surprised
the loss isn't greater than it is, because when I
saw the videos, I thought this is.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
Going to be unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
And thankfully, even though there's a there is loss, it
maybe isn't what I thought it would have been when
I first saw it.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
You're right, you like that you talk about that guy
in the truck. I mean, that's going to haunt him
for the rest of his life. It is these haunting
images you have when it happened right in your own backyard,
just just off Ano. There isn't a news conference coming up.
I think at eleven that they're gonna carry on. W
h a s IF.

Speaker 5 (40:34):
Day for whatever whatever comes from it.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
But you know, on a personal level, you know, I
obviously am friends with Craig the mayor, and you know
he's had a ton of stuff happened in his time
as well, and it's just.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
It's just sad.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
I mean, did they say it was it was it
on fire as it was taking off?

Speaker 5 (40:55):
Is that what what bas together?

Speaker 2 (40:57):
There's video of a fire on the plane it's going down.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
The run, and it was as it was taking off,
not landing right because it had all that fuel and.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
They got to that speed to where you have to
make a split second decision do you want to try
to take that up into the air and circle around
or do you want to just stay on the ground.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
And they hit that building yep.

Speaker 4 (41:20):

of it. I just think it hits harder, and I
think this one is like that. So God bless all
the folks involved. We will take a break and come back.
