Speaker 6 (02:16):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Right there man, I just got invited. Shannon Any's pay Wow.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
That's going to be a first, right, everybody's paid for
He's a good rush.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Right. So, Kentucky in the Champions Classic in Madison Square Garden,
we're three and one, three and one. We beat Kansas
in twenty that was the Anthony Davis team crushed them.
And we've beaten Michigan State twice twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen season,
and twenty nineteen season, and then we lost to Duke
the game that Drew mentioned. So we're three and one,
(02:45):
beaten two and oh against Michigan State and Madison Square Guard.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
So we can't jix it. Just leave it alone right now.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
I don't know what that means.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Said, we're two and oh against Michigan State, and.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Then how am I gonna leave it alone? They gotta
play tonight, they have to play. We can't get out.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
They don't need to talk about their record anymore. I know,
just leave it alone. It's good now we got it
out there.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
They just announced next year's game where Chicago Kansas? Well
play we go to Chicago and play Kansas. There's not
a place called Chicago and Kansas.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
You go, all right? Cool? A couple of things I
want to talk about before we get back to phones.
You watched the James Garfield Show.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
My mom and dad and I watched it in its
entirety over the weekend, and my dad loved it.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Did you like it? I did like it. It's really good.
It's really good.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
So he said, to thank you for the recommendation.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
You're very welcome. Tom womb scams, he steals the show.
Ron Swanson is in it, the dude from Lexington, Michael Shannon,
good show, really good show. My facial hair very.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Factual, a lot of it.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
We left it up.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
We looked it up. Oh so you checked the historical accuracy. Yes, yeah, wow,
And it was very factual. Yeah, it really was well good.
I'm glad so you as I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I try. I'm on episode four. I kind of fell
asleep last night because I was so tired, but looking
forward to finish it. All right, we all have I
(04:03):
think Mario I talked Mario about this and Billy about this.
Girl yesterday. But I have my new favorite player that's
not a Kentucky player. Okay, Audie, is it Crooks? Attie Crooks?
Have you seen this girl? Sharnon? This woman? No, she
plays for Iowa State. She's awesome. Yeah, all right, she
(04:27):
crushes people. I mean Shaq at his finest was not
Audie Crook can't stop her, cannot stop her. Nope. She
gets the ball in the post and says, out of
my way. It's over, it is over. She had forty
three points in twenty one minutes the other Oh and
(04:48):
and like she's bigger than everybody, but that's not it,
that's part of it. But she's got pretty quick feet,
ye for somebody her size, and she gives you a
little who's to do? And if you're not ready for
the HOUSTI two, she just knocks you over. And luckily
the rest they let them play. They're not gonna let
you flop. There's a video of her Iowa State playing Valpo.
(05:11):
You need to go look. If you I'm sure you've
seen it, but if you haven't seen it, you need
to go look at the highlight clip. It is two
minutes of her abusing these girls doing whatever she wants.
I mean, whatever she wants. She goes through them, she
goes around them, she fade aways right hand, left hand,
and they're good. Their team is good, like she's not
(05:31):
like a novelty act. They're good. And she is going
to be a star this year. I think she's like
a junior. I've seen her before, but she's done something
in the offseason because now she's just destroying people. Have
you seen her play? Oh? Yes?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
And the fact that she's a big woman. You think
that's the main reason she's gonna be a star. I
knew not to go to him, but she is. I'm
gonna put you to the side, Drew. Let me finish
this point.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
I don't know. I don't to help you, all right.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
You don't gets away with it.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
You don't know. I never said that. I said she's
Shannon you.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yeah, Well, what you want me to do about it?
Speaker 4 (06:13):
I want you to mute it. Okay. She is fun
to watch and she's awesome.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Yes, she had a good sophomore season, but her junior year,
her numbers are incredible.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
It's forty three points in twenty one minutes.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
She's averaging it's like twenty eight. It's close to thirty points.
But she's shooting almost eighty percent.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
From the field.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
And it's not like it's shooting eighty it's like seventy
seven something. Like it's really hot. And it's not like
she's just on the on the block, you know, laying
it up. She's got turnaround, turnaround. Yeah, she's smooth. I
mean they're smooth. Just like you said. Just type her
name in Twitter, YouTube and watch the highlights and it
will not let you down.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
She's I mean a little Jokic ask, I mean not
not you know, Jokic is one of the best players
of all time. But like the footwork is pretty impressive.
And I don't know what these I don't know what
those girls at Valpo were supposed to like whatuff? Like,
what were they gonna do? Now? They should have just
gotten back on the bus and gone home.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
That's why that highway video is to entertainment.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
I mean, poor Valpo women's team. Just go home.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
But you're right, she's only a few games in her
junior year. Just now the brand is getting out there.
She's gonna be a start if they stay good, because
they're pretty good. If they stay good, that is.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Your You know, what was the name of the guy
on NC State DJ Burns, it's that but she might
but like her size differential is even greater than his,
so it's even more amazing.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
And they love her. She's like homegrown Iowa. I think
she was Iowa Miss basketball, has all the high school records,
so she's just adding on to her career right now.
I know they just had Caitlin Clark at the other
Iowa not gonna get in that territory. But she is
a huge star in the making.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
She's my new uh what what do you call it?
What was our nickname for the guy from Indiana State,
Kream abdul Jabbar. She's my new Kaream abdul Jabbar, although
he's still playing. He's in Saint Louis this year. Also,
I had to give a shout out to Read Shepherd.
Five straight games of at least fourteen points a game,
starting to come on at twenty one the other night. Now,
(08:15):
he tripped a guy. When you think about that part,
you know, guy had it, he was asking for it.
He needed to be tripped. He needed to be tripped.
Sometimes you can get hit in the face, you gotta
trip him. But Reid, who started off the year very
poorly starting to come on. Now, I have a question
for you, though. You were saying on ks board that
there's a lot of red negativity. Where do you think
(08:37):
our fan base is with red right now?
Speaker 5 (08:40):
I am actually stunned that what seems like a d
I'm not gonna act like it's this huge percentage of
the fan base, but there are several people who have
not forgiven him for wearing the Arkansas gear. I don't
know that I've seen it this year, but even last
season and rup before the games, they'd scroll NBA players
how they're doing. I mean, there would be some booze
for read Shepherd, not a ton, but just the fact
(09:01):
that there's any still blows up.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
You would say the vast majority of people still very pro.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
I would hope so. But I will say when we
have a thread on case board, and I love case Board,
I know you listening to a.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Lot of natatory though on case I mean when I
read like.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
It's a message board, you know, part.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Of me it's like, come on, guy, like this is
kay and where do you think this came from? And
they're like, so I get it. But I'm just.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Shocked in general that there are people that I don't
think they'll ever forgive him. I didn't think that would
be the case. I thought it was dumb to do it.
I didn't even care in the moment. I just thought
it bad decision making. Now we're almost a.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Year later, and people have not gotten over that. Well,
it clearly represents some faction of the fan base. Are
you is anyone on this show still perturbed at Red Shepherd?
Not even a little bit.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
No, No, I've thought about it twice since it happened,
and we brought it up twice on this show. That's
when I thought about it.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
It was dumb, but I root for him. You try
to watch every game I can pull.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
I find myself pulling for him, so I don't have
any I mean, he's from the Mountains, right, so I
can't help.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
But be He's third teenth region man, he is diehard
Kentucky throw and through it.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
It was a bad movie. Told him to do that.
That was really dumb. But but beyond that, I can't
now if he shows up, if he does it again,
if it doubles again, we're gonna get the Hague.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
You might as well just double down and do it.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
You want him to wear an Arkansas shirt every year,
it's the same.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
What's the difference. I mean, people are already hating him
because he did a year ago. People get over stuffed
though clearly yeah a year later they haven't gotten over it.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
But if they just keep double down on it.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
All Arkansas, no Kentucky at all. Shorts and shorts.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
You do not.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Know well the applause to like, there's a clip of
him looking like Grace Allen, which will defend the guy
h him in the face first. But this is a
bad look for favu of Arkansas Arkansas behavior. This is
black eye for the hogs.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Like that.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
Those are the comments to it.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
I don't think that's the norm, though, I don't think.
I do think that that. In general, Chaos Board is
generally pretty positive play. But when you get on those
show threads, there's that one dude, Bagel face McCoy here.
We've had We've had bagel problems. Ye, yeah, I've had
some of those people.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Thank he's on his twentieth account.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Yeah, we might need to see some of those people.
Gotta go, let's go to Nate. Go ahead, Nate.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
Yeah, Hey, Matt and Gang, I'm in your former home
the Raleigh Durham area getting married on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Oh, congratulations, gonna celebrate with a Hurricanes game.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
Well that's what I called in to talk about, Matt
and my might ask anything question to you. It got
two things. As we went to the Edmonton Hurricanes game
last Saturday, and my future father in law went to
go drop off can goods at the Hurricanes little they
had a can drive and it's right outside the stadium. Well,
guess who was out there, Old Jacob Slavin and so
(11:48):
we were taking pictures, but we stood around there for
about ten or fifteen minutes. Nobody had any.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Clue who this guy was really.
Speaker 7 (11:55):
And that's my question. Oh it was incredible. Man. I
was like, this guy's in a being, he's the best
player for the So my question would be, are hockey
players the most people the most unrecognizable people on TV?
Who are millionaires out in public?
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Yeah, I mean I would say so, I would think. So.
I mean, I'm I'm a huge Hurricanes fan and I
could probably recognize by face, a hos vetching the cough
and Slavin and that's it. I think maybe Jarvis, but
like most of the guys, I wouldn't recognize. So you're
probably right. I mean, those dudes make a lot of money.
(12:34):
But you know, I think about the NFL, I appreciate
the call. I mean a lot of those NFL guys
you wear a helmet, look for helmets, you don't necessarily
know what they look like, right, I mean the linemen
are obvious, but if you get someone that's just, you know,
reasonably sized, Yeah, I mean I would the UK players
in the past kind of admit their jealousy of the
basketball players. You have to remind them, like they go
(12:55):
the free throw line, it's zoomed in on their face
on Nashvial TV wearing helmets on the time. If we're
being how many guys on the Kentucky football team could
walk down the street in Lexington everybody know who they were?
Cutter Bowley would yes? Do you think Seth McGowan everybody
would know what he looks like?
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Maybe now, not when the season started.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
I don't know, I don't know. Maybe maybe now.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Yeah, I'll say, Pete, you can spots huge, Yeahger, I
mean he grew up here.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I mean maybe by people who knew him when he
was growing up. How many of the wide receivers do
you think any do you think there's anyone that knows
what Fred Ferrier looks like.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Well, he's from Frankfort, those people in Frankfort, But Cam
Miller DJ Miller, if you put two of them side
by side, most people would not know.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Jeremy Macklin. You think a lot of people would know
what he looks.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Like, unless unless you're like watching the YouTube postgame interviews.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
They just don't.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
It's the nature of those guys, you know. Now, obviously
the quarterback is a different situation. But like if you
were to rank Kentucky football players by when they would
be recognized, Cutter Bowley would be number one. Yeah, I
think after that video, Zach Calzada is number two. I
agree with that. That's a good call, don't you. Yeah,
(14:10):
Who's three?
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Garrett?
Speaker 5 (14:13):
I think we don't know what Garrett looks like?
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Though, we don't know what Garrett looks like unfortunately. I mean,
it's got to be Pete just by pure it probably
would be Shias Pete in the long ponytail. But I mean,
Alexafari's an NFL player. Do you think anyone knows him?
Very few?
Speaker 2 (14:32):
I was trying to think.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I mean, he's been in the bar, like I told
his girlfriend works at the bar. He's been in the
bar and I didn't realize he was in there. People
were like, you realized that was just Alex Safari.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Yeah, that's the only defensive guy. Maybe ty Bryant just
because he's from here.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
I think you way are overestimating the people from here.
Ty Bryant. No one knows it unless you went to
school with ty Bryant. They don't know what he looks like.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
A lot of people know he looks like.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
I don't know what he looks like. He can walk
in here right now.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Do you know what he looks like? I do interview Mario,
you know what he looks like? All right, well you
all interviewed you. I don't know what he looks like.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah, he can walk in here right now. Anybody could
walk in her.
Speaker 8 (15:08):
Ok.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
The Kentucky football fans to get on YouTube and watch
the interview, they'll know. But the ones that just tune
on the game, they just don't get much FaceTime.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
But the thing that the thing that are a lot
of our fan base and a lot of there is
a huge difference between the fan base that watches videos
on YouTube, that posts on social media, that goes on
chs board and the general things. One of the things
I always say to people, and I have to remind
that this of myself. This show is for the general
(15:37):
casual fing and the hardcore fan forgets those people exist.
But there are more of those people than there are
the hardcore fan. Oh absolutely, there are more people who
And it's interesting to me when a story breaks into
the casuals. Right. So, the get your Money Garrett was
(15:57):
fascinating because the casuals knew about it.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Yeah, but that took getting front page CBS, and I
mean that was a national.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Sin and Garrett calling this show. Yeah, So yeah, I
think the casuals, and I say casuals are positive because
I think these are the vast majority of our fans.
They would know Cutter bowllying, Zach Calcata and that's probably
and she owes and that's probably it.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
And that goes back to like this this past spring,
they should have done a better job introducing some of
these guys to the fan base. We get to know
them a little bit.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
We'll take a break A five nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty sevens KSR. Welcome back, Take you Sports Radio.
I was just sitting here thinking Shane and I had
no people in my life named Key Brian. Yeah a
year ago, and now there are two key brides. The
Reds have a key Brian and the Hurricanes have a
key Bride.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Well, they're not really in your life. I mean, they're
just people who exist that.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
You see them almost every day, Like I I would say,
outside of close family and friends. Yeah, the Hurricanes and
the Reds are more close to me than the vast
majority of people. I watch more hurricanes. I mean the
two things I watched the most on television are Reds
and Hurricanes because they're on all the time. And like
(17:11):
the two announcers for the Hurricanes, they're my friend Christmas
car Trip Tracy is. I mean, no one here knows
who Trip Tracy is, but I know his strengths, his weaknesses.
He's overcome alcoholism. He has frosty tips in his hair
that he debates back and forth whether or not to
continue frosty in them.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
I take that back, Maybe these guys are your friends.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Some people feel that way about us because they listen
every day. I kind of have that with these random
two guys in Raleigh. Like I think I would geek
out if I saw the Hurricanes announcers starstruck when they
were played in Columbus. I tried to find a way
to sneak into the booth just to get a picture.
I want to get a picture of the two guys.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
And then they were that's so I would have thought
about skip carrying Don Sutton and Pi wearing.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Yeah. Well, okay, but this shut up. Like last night,
I missed that we were driving during the Hurricanes Bruins
we got back. I watched it on replay, some of
it fast forward to the goals, but I wanted to
see it.
Speaker 5 (18:14):
A hard fan, you know, growing up, I used to
watch this guy right here to my left.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Yeah. Now he's a big deal. When he'd come to
mess we have to cut him off on certain topics.
There are a lot of people writing on the text
machine though, that still have read issues. I'm telling you,
it's more than it should be, more than you would think.
I really am surprised that it's so many. Let's go
to uh, let's go to Dan, Dan, go ahead, Dan.
Speaker 9 (18:39):
Hey, Hey, Matt, this is Dan from Rocking Down.
Speaker 8 (18:41):
I'm calling you from Queenstown, New Zealand.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Oh wowow hello Queenstown.
Speaker 10 (18:47):
Good day, Yeah, hey queen Yeah, I've been to Australia,
going in Queenstown now.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
But I got to tell you that I'm wear a
UK hat over here.
Speaker 9 (18:58):
And I've had numerous people, I want to.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
Say numerous three people from the United Kingdom with the.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
UK had on bet a Tennessee fan over here, didn't
like didn't like him too much, talking about like he
didn't even know anything about.
Speaker 10 (19:16):
In the morning there, it's five five thirty. Yeah, I'm
getting ready to go eat reckless. We're going out early
this morning. We've got a whole lot of turning around
to do.
Speaker 8 (19:26):
Yeah, it's it's it's uh what you're all too It's
Wednesday here?
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Yeah, well good, well up. I hope you're having fun.
I guess will you get to watch the game Wednesday?
Speaker 8 (19:40):
I won't get the I won't get to watch it.
I'll listen to it though, yeah okay, so yeah, yeah, yeah,
I've been listening to you like of course, it's like
going from a night shift to day shift here, so
you know, I'm like, I went to bed at eight
o'clock last night. Yeah, and so, uh.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
Wow, hope you enjoy the trip. I'm glad. I'm glad
you're getting to do it. I know you know you've
had some health issues, so in you're traveling. That's awesome.
And Dan, it's good to hear from you. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (20:10):
Great listening to you guys. Man, loved your show. Brothers,
thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Appreciate the call. Enjoy New Zealand. Dan, that's great. I'm
glad he's there. Free bird, go ahead, Free bird.
Speaker 9 (20:22):
Guys, Greetings from Tompkinsville. Two things, guys, Glad you're back. Safe,
but we had a good time. I love the interviews
with the UK guys and Man, some of these UK fans.
First of all, get off read. He did what he did,
He's playing well, and let's have a little faith in
this team. We got our point guard hurt. We don't
know if he's coming back. Let him do what he
(20:44):
did last year. Let him make shift the lineup and
do his adjustments. It's November for crying out loud rant over.
Y'all have a great fak.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
I agree with that. I totally agree with that. And
if we end up without Low, I do think Pope
will be able to, like he did last year, craft
the best possible team he can from what's left. But
I want Low to play because I think that's where
we hit our peak.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
And we hit this last year and you had to turn.
You lose Criso, then you're down to Travis Perry. I
still like Aberdeen, and you know, Jasper's got a long
way to go.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
What do you have?
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Seven eight assists Friday night? So they still have the
bodies and really tonight, Aberdeen, they're Michigan State's point guard.
Leads the nation and assists. He's really good. He averages
almost ten asis a game. It'd be one where I
think Aberdeen would be playing a lot anyway for defense
with this matchup.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Yeah, I mean, this might be a game where Jalen
Low would have been the least helpful because I think
he would get exposed a little on defense, and they're
so physical in the physicality. So this is actually I
think you'll see the need for Low more when we
play Saint John's or when we play maybe even North Carolina.
This is a game where this probably would have been
an Aberdeen game anyway.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
He's definitely more valuable as a defender, and I can
luck gun guy in the perimeter, but he's a better
off guard off the ball guard. You know he's got
to be you think so seems like with this little
I've seen, he's a good point guard, but he's better
off the bat.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
The problem with him playing off the guard is you
can't play him, Oway, and Chandler all at the same time. Correct, Yeah,
at least this way. I mean, if I'm trying to
get bright spots, you can play all three of those
guys together. Right now, he's the team's leading scorer. I
know he's been moving around a lot, and still we're
patching the roster together with all these injuries, but he's
been even better than I expected. Really, do we expect
(22:24):
to see a better game from Oway? We'll probably talk
about this a lot on the pregame show, but.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
I think so. But if he doesn't play well, we're
really starting to wonder what's going on between the ears.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Yeah, I'm concerned about it. It's not the same guy
so far this year. Hey, big news for our listeners
in North Carolina. Cornbread hemp is now available at all
locations across the state, including Lowe's Foods. You got the Seltzers,
relaxation without the hangover, the gummies to help you sleep,
no waiting for shipping, Just walk in and grab your
corn bread. No artificials, no synthetics, no shortcuts. Go to
(22:59):
Low's Foods in North Carolina or close to you. Look
for corn Brad Hemp or Coornbradhemp dot com and find
a location corn Bred Hemp. This is the Good Life
pregame show, by the way, is at four o'clock today,
a rare four o'clock start. Yeah, we're gonna win tonight,
right Yeah.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Darren Peterson's out for Kansas. Just came out in the
second game. It's a big deal.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Yeah, he's gonna be out Dukes at eleven and a
half point favorite racis Kansas, which is nuts. We'll take
a break me right back. KSR. TJ. Smith personal injury
attorney called TJ. He'll make them.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Pay now more. Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
It really is amazing. I mean, the most texts are
on the text machine hunt, like probably two hundred are
about Reeed Shepherd aunt I ree No, They're not only
in night. I mean there are positive ones too. One
person writes, I love Reey Sheppard. He's an incredible player
and he loves UK and Kentucky. Did he mess up
(23:56):
wearing shirt sure, but that shouldn't make up for it,
or shouldn't take away from what he has done. Another
one writes, Reid is born and brad Kentucky. He's supposed
to be ours. His shirt was in fidelity in Kentucky.
You don't forgive infidelity. A lot of people do. If
they didn't, there would be a lot fewer marriages, I think,
(24:19):
around the around the state.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
So what could Red do to give everybody back on board.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Burning Arkansas Jersey? That would be good. One person goes,
I'm done with Reid and Rex Chapman. Reid's shirt and
Rex's politics make me not care about two of the
best players we ever had here. I don't know if
they're the best players we ever had here, but I
will say like neither of those are good reasons. The
(24:47):
politics reasons ridiculous, Like come on, I mean, really, you're
not gonna like a player because they disagree with you?
About to stop it? Do you know all most politics?
I mean, first of all, here's a little secret. The
vast majority of the players you are are more on
Rex's side than they are, Especially the closer you get
to recently, go back in time, they're probably more on
(25:09):
the other side, But none of that should matter about basketball.
I mean, I understand if you want to mute Rex's
Twitter account cause of it, But as far as like
a player, what does that have to do with anything.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
One of the most popular players to ever play here
for your team, your beloved Kentucky Wildcats, and you want
to turn him off because he thinks something differently you politically.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
First of all, it's crazy you would think that if
you listen to me. Good point, although Rex does go
in a little bit farther than I do. All right,
I want to play a game with you, all right,
Guy Drew doesn't get to play because he'll know all
these answers. This is for Shannon, and this is for
Shannon and run.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
All right, We're ready.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
We're playing the Where does this former UK player play?
Speaker 8 (25:54):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Wow, former UK player basketball play this year? All right,
I'll start with the easy ones. Both of you get
a gas. Where does Kercreasa play Shannon?
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Cincinnati?
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Ryan Cincinnati?
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Correct? Where does Bryce Hopkins play Georgetown? Shannon?
Speaker 3 (26:19):
It was Providence, but he moved on Saint John's Saint John?
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Is it right? Gets an X? All right? Where does
Ugana Oenso play?
Speaker 2 (26:33):
I went to Kansas State. I don't if he's still there,
I'll be like, I'm gonna say Kansas State.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Then Shannon, I think it is Kansas State.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Virginia, Virginia didn't have a clue, no idea. You did
not know that. Where does Aaron Bradshaw play? I know
this one.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I think, Shannon, it was Ohio State, then he moved
on to Arkansas. No, he's not a Darkan, so I
don't know. I don't know this one.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Memphis, Memphis. Shit, Ryan gets one right, all right? So
it's Todd the winner can get. And I don't think
either one of you are getting this one. Where does
Damian Collins play?
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Because he left LSU.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Arizona State.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
I'll say Texas, San Antonio.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Texas, San Antonio, somewhere very specific, somewhere in Texas. But
don't answer.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
But do you know, I'm pretty sure I was certain
on all those. I think I know this one, all right? Well,
is it in the Sunshine State?
Speaker 4 (27:39):
I want you to take a guess.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
Is he a bull in South Florida ball South Florida?
Speaker 4 (27:42):
He plays at South Florida. There you go. I knew
all of them, except I did not know he played
at South Florida. We got to Devin ask you Villanova. Yeah,
I think people would have gotten that. We've talked about
that one. But at South Florida. Would you have known
Damian Collins was at South Florida.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Because he played a lot of minutes at LS. You
don't know why he f LSU for South Florida.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
I can't believe you go Ugo? Is it Virginia?
Speaker 5 (28:04):
Neither Hugo is actually playing really well. Aaron Bradshaw is
absolutely not well.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
He who goes at four and a half points a game.
Can you name the women.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Who just had some big games this year? Maybe not,
but Aaron Bradshaw has not improved. From your story, she
did a story on this today. Hugo is no.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Nine and a half. You're right, so he's played well.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Bradshaw has not improved in three years.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
D angel women's team that is ranked in the top
twenty five, whose two best players are both former Kentucky
women's players Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
I don't know that one.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
I don't know any ready. No, I don't have it.
TCU Mattie sher and Clara Silva.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
I completely forgot Maddy Shirr still playing past.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Sarah Silva, who was the girl from Portugal. She's averaging
a double double and Mattie Sherr is averaging ten points
a game. Former Ryle High school star and they're in
the top twenty five.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
So there's a big women's game at Momorial Costume tonight night.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
They played Purdue. Ye pack the house. We're blue. Yep,
they have They're doing some kind of ticket giveaway. I
can't remember what.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
Was they're giving away, like clear bags. I think students
have huge giveaways like AirPods and men's basketball tickets and
the men's game. Teacher appreciation night maybe.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Sure, Yeah, if you're a teacher, you come in, they
appreciate you, it'll be it's it's all kinds of fun.
But it's tonight and they'll have it on the big screen.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Men the guys game, they're gonna show them.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
I just have to say, though, to the schedule makers,
you got to stop doing I feel like they do
this to the women every year. I feel like we play.
Didn't the women have a big home game last year
during the Duke game. I do believe you're exactly right.
Why do they do this to them?
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Were they thinking that they would play the late game again,
so people can maybe see both.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
But even then, like you know, it's a Tuesday still though.
I hope people go because, like I said, they got
a big recruit there. But I don't know why they
do that to them.
Speaker 5 (29:59):
This is their last home game until December seventh. I
mean that's also good.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
It's odd that we play all these games they're playing in,
like go.
Speaker 5 (30:06):
To Puerto Rico, go to Louisville, another road game.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Okay, uh Shandon, did you see the story about the
billionaire and his and the pickup line?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Yes, yes, I did. I have seen this.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Okay, So there's a guy named Bill Ackman. He's like
a rich billionaire. I don't know what he did to
get rich. I don't know what it is about these
billionaires that, like, again, we talk about this all the time.
If you're a billionaire, why don't you just go be
a billionaire? Why do they all want to all of
a sudden, You'll never hear from me again if I'm yeah,
I mean, why is everybody like wanting to be a prognosi?
You're a billionaire, I need like two million dollars and
(30:44):
you're not. This show's over.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
You won't find me all right, like, I'm off the grid.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Just give me a couple more minutes. Give me a
couple more minutes, and we're out.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
A couple more This okay.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
So Bill Ackman, he he like pontificates on things, and
for a while it was politics, but now he's just
on life. He's decided he can give everybody advice on
how to live their best.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Life on social media or something because he's so relatable.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Yeah, he's mister billionaire is relatable. And so his latest
one was they somebody asked him, Bill, I don't know
who's asking these questions. Dear Bill, what do you recommend
we do for young men so they can meet women?
You know who knows? Here was Bill's answer. He said,
(31:37):
in my day, I have found that women really like
it if you approach them on the street or in
public and say may I meet you? That you walk
up to him and you say may I meet you?
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Sounds like the worst idea ever, A robot that is
not going to work in today's world.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Do we think that that is a good introductory line
to meet a woman?
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Shitton, It's a little weird, but it's straightforward. It's to
the point, or no, may I meet you. That means
what you talk to.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Me, They're gonna say no and keep on walking.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
May I meet you is such a weird way to
say it, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
That's why it works, though, I think that you.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Think it does work.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Hey girl, let me talk to you.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
To go hay girl, what you do? Can you imagine though,
if someone came up to you and said, may I
meet you?
Speaker 3 (32:39):
You would be intrigued, be scared.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
I would feel like they were socially awkward to say something, Yeah, now,
what's introduce yourself?
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Just go up and be like, hey, let's meet name
how you do it?
Speaker 3 (32:52):
But you're assuming that she cares.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
But if she doesn't want to talk, I guess what
I'm saying is, if she doesn't want to talk to you,
is may I meet you gonna help? Or hurt?
Speaker 5 (33:01):
I say hurt.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
I think most women know if they have any potential
interest in you within two to three sex seconds, right,
and I think may I meet you? So they only
make it work.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Yes, in today's world, you're like, that's a little creepy goodbye.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
You think it's good?
Speaker 3 (33:20):
I think it could work. I mean it's different. We
say that to me.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Who is somebody that we could test this with, like,
I don't think it works well. I think you have
to go into the wild and do it for us.
I can't do I can't. I can't, I can't. I
don't have the I would be so embarrassed myself. May
I meet you?
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Yeah, till you meet your future wife?
Speaker 5 (33:46):
How did you all meet? I walked up here and said, hey,
can I meet you?
Speaker 4 (33:49):
That's weird?
Speaker 5 (33:50):
May may may I under you can't?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
I if she's gonna says to.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
Do this with would be if he was not engaged. Billy.
Billy is a may I meet you would be a
good test.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Because he talks to people at the gym, which is.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
He does talk people in the elevator, and he would
do it. I could see him doing it. I personally
think it's a not a good way to start a conversation.
Now he's getting roasted like everyone is. And there are
videos online on TikTok of just people going up to
strangers and saying, may I meet you, and the look
of horror that he's on people's face. No people are
(34:28):
testing it and like they're just they'll just walk up
to somebody on the street and go, may I meet you?
Speaker 5 (34:32):
And They look at him like, use, it's not a
natural thing to do.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
It's day.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Which how old is this guy?
Speaker 4 (34:39):
So well, he was suggesting to do it now. He's
probably in his fifties, so he was suggesting to do
it now. So I don't know.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
We gotta try it out.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Yeah, you can try.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
Shannon's the one sounds like pro's true.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Would you like to try it out?
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Shannon?
Speaker 2 (34:56):
No, I wouldn't cut the street all big talk.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
All right, let's do our Draft Kings pick for the
Let's not do Kentucky Michigan State. We'll do that later.
Let's do Duke Kansas. Duke's an eleven and a half
point favorite. You go to Draft Kings, use my promo
code KSR bet five. Get two hundred dollars at Draft Kings.
Who you like? Duke's an eleven and a half point
favorite at Kansas.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Pick it against the spread and Peterson is not playing.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Peterson is not playing.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
I'm taking Duke, then the cover.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
See, I'm taking Kansas. I cannot see Kansas losing by
twelve in the Champions Classic. I mean remember we felt
like we got run off the court by Loui Wheel
and lost by eight. I mean like, that's hard for
me to see.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
It's way too many points for a matchup like this.
Peterson's awesome. I mean, he might be my favorite of
all those freshmen. I think he could be the best.
So it's definitely gonna hurt him. But eleven and a
half too many points for me. And again, like, eleven and.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
A half, I can't believe it would be that many.
So I'm with you. I'm taking Kansas in the points,
so I'm only one taking Duke.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
So three Kansas and one dude.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
My track record is awful on draft Kings, so you
know where to go.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Ryan's gonna see Duke Kansas and Bett punt.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
I was betting punt last night on the Steelers game.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
They didn't play.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Cowboys, Raiders and Cowboys. Yeah, Steelers were Sunday. I was
betting punt the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
I turned the Cowboys game on. I was like, let's
see what the score is and it was thirty one
six and Guy Fieri was on the screen with Peyton Manning.
I was like, I think I'm gonna turn this off.
I think I'm done. Hey, if I'm nine eighty seven'll
take your call. B right backs KSR. You know May
I meet you? Might work better if you're a billionaire,
(36:40):
if you work up there, I'm a billionaire.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
As you're show on your your phone with your yeah, at.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
That point may be more of a successful successful lie.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
I think you could say anything at that point though,
you think so, Yeah, like I'm a billionaire.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yeah, I'd lead with that. Okay, there you go. If
I'm nine uh two. A twenty two eighty seven one
woman writes, I had a guy come up to me
once on the street and say he would like to
brush my hair. I would have preferred, may I meet you? Yeah?
For sure, that would be That would be really weird.
(37:19):
There's one more player that went to another school, and
I guarantee you none of you know. Okay, where's Cameron Fletcher?
Oh my, he's from Saint Louis. I'll say Saint Louis.
All right. They may want to make a guess, man,
I have it? Is it? He wasn't? Is it? Xavier? No,
Shannon was hot point. You looked it up. You looked
(37:45):
it up. There's no way you knew he was at
hop you're looking at me right now. How I look
that up?
Speaker 8 (37:49):
Way?
Speaker 4 (37:51):
Question, Shannon? That is the cheating cheating that.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
I look it up, you're looking at me. It's on
the screen right now.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
How would you have known he's at hogh point?
Speaker 3 (37:59):
I know is a high point. How do you know anything?
Speaker 8 (38:03):
I know?
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Where did you hear he was at high point?
Speaker 3 (38:05):
I don't know, but I know.
Speaker 11 (38:10):
That that was maybe your most blatant you know, the
Alabama House of Representative Espression taking up for you.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Nobody would get it right.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
But now I'm in with the group that Shannon cheats
because there's no way you could have known that.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
No way with my toes.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
I mean no way. You couldn't have known that. Go ahead, Miles,
no way you could have known it.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
You googled five minutes ago and Matt said we forgot one.
Speaker 12 (38:41):
Uh. I was just gonna say, uh, uh that I
absolutely love our basketball team. B she and uh and
uh my favorite play was, uh is O take old Way?
And and this is mouse from Dan and uh they're
(39:03):
just miles from Dan and I.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
Well, thank you, it's good to hear from you. Hope
to see you at the bar again soon. I appreciate
the call and you and always going to have a
big night for you. Miles. I have a feeling let's
go to Ford. Go ahead, Ford.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Hey, I was your comments about not knowing people's faces
on the street, the difference between like basketball and football
and like hockey or football and hockey helmet sports. The
reason I know when I walk around campus I see
like the basketball players, it's because I'm seeing, you know,
practice clips, especially preseason, I'm seeing practice clips and stuff.
I'm seeing practice clips of like the football team. They're
(39:44):
in helmets. I'm not going to know their face.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
I mean, of course that's that's definitely the reason. But
still that's all the more reason schools need to get
people to learn their players like they need to do
to or work in football. They need to do more
of that for the exact reason you're.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
Talking about is that is that it's a UK UK
and appreciate the call.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
It's UK. Well, I mean, JMI deserves the responsibility too.
You know, somebody made a point to me last night
that was fascinating but true. We were able me and
Drew and Billy and Mario to do multiple clips and
shut from the Buffalo Bills field. We can't do that
(40:33):
at UK. Right. We were able to one on one
talk in a way without anyone overseeing us with the
Buffalo Bills players and you can at UK that's a
failure in building relationships with the players. It just is
and and they can have any excuse they want for it,
(40:54):
but it's a failure. So then when people don't know
them as well, that's on you. You did that, not like
that's just how it is. Let's go to Poe.
Speaker 13 (41:02):
Go ahead, Poe, Yah, God bless and Uh, I just
wanted y'all. I know you all aren't doing it, but
whoever's on it lay off for read. He's true to
the bone Kentucky and Uh, I'm sitting in London right now,
and I know that's true.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
I appreciate U.
Speaker 13 (41:26):
My mom and dad. My dad lived in Virginia and
my mom lived in London when I was little, and
I went back and forth, back and forth, and I
go through Middlesbrough and there was a store man that
had a Kentucky helmet and a Tennessee helmet in what
was the name of that store, I'm not sure what.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
The store was. Arnold's Athletic was an athletic store that's
on that highway. Could that have been it?
Speaker 13 (41:52):
I don't know. It was on the left going towards Virginia.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
I appreciate the call. I think that was all they
used to make jerseys. I'm sorry we have but yes,
I think it was Arnold's Athletic that. I didn't think
you'd have that answer, man. So we were right there
on the border. So it's closed. Now.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
There was one store you said you don't have to
go to get to get your shoes like they got.
They had the shoes before everybody else. Is that the
same store.
Speaker 4 (42:16):
Arnold's Athletic made the uniforms. No, there wasn't. There was
a foot locker who big city. I was like, we
had a we had like you know, we were big
time in Middlesbrough By the way, we Pikeville needs to
be ready. They gave this weekend. We're coming on the road.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
Jackets, jackets.
Speaker 4 (42:36):
No easy way to get from Pipe from middles It's
like Buffalo to New York City. Same state. Not close.
All right, four o'clock, we'll be back for the pregame
show for Kentucky and Michigan State. Uh. Until then, get
yourself ready. It's Champions Classic Day. This has been Kentucky
Sports Radio
