Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone. It is the local Toyota Dealers KSR postgame show.
The Cats get a big victory down on the planes
in Auburn in not the most exciting game in the world,
but in one that we won ten to three, a
huge win for Mark Stoops and a huge win for
the Stoops era as the Cats get their first SEC
(00:21):
win in over a year and do it on the road,
only the fourth time in the history of the program
that they have won an SEC game in the state
of Alabama, which is in and of itself an unbelievable statistic,
but it happens tonight. A five nine, two, eight oh
twenty two eighty seven. We're gonna take your calls. We
(00:43):
talked about this postgame show could be a historic one,
and I think that got sort of staved off a
little bit by by what happened and the win tonight,
so we will talk all about it right now. Also,
I'm sure many of you have the World Series on,
because we probably are watching the if not the most
exciting game seven, one of maybe the probably the most
(01:06):
exciting in my lifetime. The only one that would be
close to be two thousand and one. But I don't
think that one went into extra any so, I think
you're talking about the most exciting crazy plays and the
Dodgers have the bases loaded. We'll talk about it throughout
the game, but let's let's focus a little bit on
the football game. This was like a definitive kind of
Mark Stoops win. If you were to sort of draw ups,
(01:29):
how does Mark Stoops want to win SEC games? I
think you could make an argument that like this is
his dream game, win ten to three, right when where
your defense completely envelops the other team, where they cannot
move the ball, where they barely get across midfield, and
you just completely dominate them defensively. And then you have
(01:54):
one really good drive as you milk the clock and
sort of playball control. And then you have one really
good drive where you make some big plays and you
score a touchdown. That's what win the game because they
did have one really good drive. First drive in the
second half was excellent on all cylinders for UK. I
mean they through had a number of great plays by receivers.
(02:18):
Kendrick law Fred Ferrier gets his fifth and sixth catch
of the year, and Kentucky gets the touchdown. It ends
up being enough to win. Got to give a huge
shout out to the Kentucky defense, to Brad White for
the game plan. He drew it up perfectly, and the
Cats were excellent throughout the game. I you know, we
(02:40):
can break down the various specific parts. Cutter Bowley was
not good, but I had a drive to be able
to give us the win. The defensive line was excellent.
They absolutely overwhelmed both of Auburn's quarterbacks. It was clear
Hugh Freese had no idea what to do. I mean,
he played, he started one guy, he brought in a backup,
and then Billy he brought the starter back in. You know,
(03:02):
that's clearly a guy who has no idea. He has
no idea what to do with this because he essentially
played three quarterbacks and he had absolutely no idea where
to go. The Brad White's blitzes and where they were
coming from, they could not pick them up. The quarterbacks
were lost. And then when big plays need to be made,
they need to be made. And I think it's worth
(03:23):
noting that the most important play of the game is
in some ways also a signature stoops play. They throw
an interception, they're running it back and Cameron Miller, a
freshman wide receiver causes and Kentucky recovers its first fumble
of the year. Come on, that's ridiculous. But it's a
(03:45):
hustle play where he does not quit, he gives effort
and he saves the play. That's kind of a Mark
Stoops signature. So here's where I am on it. I'm
thrilled about the win. Anybody that's not about to win.
I don't like to tell people how to fan, but
if you cheer against Kentucky, then I think you're if
(04:07):
not a maybe you're a fan, but you're a selfish fan.
Everyone should be happy we want. On a personal level,
I'm very happy for Mark Stoops. You saw that emotion
after the game, the fan base turning on him, which
has happened. You know it affects him. You can tell,
(04:30):
you can see it, like he feels this emotion. He
is not somebody who sees criticism and goes middle fingers up.
He's somebody who it goes internally and he feels it.
And I sympathize for that, even though I mean, I
don't feel sorry for him in the abstract because he
has a ton of money and he's gonna be owed
(04:51):
a lot of money no matter what. But still on
a personal level, I thought the emotion was great, and
that's why I like him. He wants this so bad,
and I think a lot of the fan base feels that,
and that's why they want him to succeed so much.
And I'm glad he got this moment. And as a
practical matter, I thought, if they lost tonight, kind of
(05:11):
his fate was sealed. But now he lives to fight
another day. They get Florida next week at home. I
think it's crucial. I think if he loses that game,
probably you end up with the same result as if
he loses tonight, which is it would be hard to
bring him back. But if you win and then you
beat Tennessee Tech and you're five and five Withandy and Louisville,
(05:36):
I mean, you got a shot to make a ball,
and there's no argument he will be brought back if
they make a ball. They are not firing a coach
at Kentucky in paying a thirty seven million dollars by
out if he makes a ball. Now we've talked about Billy.
Maybe the worst result for the program is five and seven.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Then you don't know what to do.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Then you don't know what to do. I mean, I
know a lot of fans, most fans will probably want
to change. I think a lot of people around the
administration will not want to change, and you're gonna have
this like sort of I don't know, I don't I
don't know what happens in that scenario, but I do
know what happened with what would have happened if they
lost tonight, which was it would have been over and
(06:19):
so it was a huge win. And then when it's over,
you saw Mitch Barnhardt on the field. You know, there's
another person on that field, which is one of our
biggest donors, was standing right behind him too. I mean,
they're the ones like this is all gonna kind of
come down to their decision making. And it's a big
game for Mark's future. So there's another big one coming Saturday.
(06:41):
I don't think they can lose that game. I think
they're gonna have to win. And Florida's pretty good. They
played Georgia. You know, they had a shot to win
that game at the end of the game, so well,
I say, Florida's pretty good. I don't know that they're good,
but Florida can beat you if you don't show. If
you don't play well, Florida will probably be favored. So
(07:04):
I am thrilled about the victory, but it also causes
a game Saturday that's like you're playing for your career
Philly at home. We can't lose another home game, you know,
we can't. We can't lose another SEC home game. But
it wouldn't have mattered at all if it wasn't for
to tonight, And I think people really need to celebrate tonight.
(07:25):
It was an ugly game, it was a boring game,
but it was a definitively Mark Stoops kind of game.
It's the kind of game that he thought he could
build a program to win games like this, and he
got to give him credit for doing it. And one
thing I will say, I know it's easy to dismiss
some of our fan base, and I've never understood this once,
(07:47):
to dismiss our own wins as if we're somehow Alabama.
We have only won a game in the state of
Alabama four times in the history of our program on
the road. Start with that. Secondly, you know, Auburn played Oklahoma,
Missouri and Texas A and M down to the final play.
Excuse mean there were one possession games, not final play,
(08:10):
but one possession games. So I mean they were not
good tonight, but you know what, we had something to
do with that. So I think the program deserves credit.
If you're gonna criticize, you have to praise, and tonight
is a night of praise. If I'm nine twenty two
eighty seven, the Blue Jays are now up bottom of
(08:31):
the tenth, I mean, this is who's gonna win. Got
Yamamoto pitching? Who's I mean, he'll be the MVP if
he does not if he does not give up the
winning run. Here, who you got, Billy?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I got a root for the Blue Jays, even though
that Dodgers catch where the guys collided over each other
was insane.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Insane, and even the play before where they throw him
out at home barely Yeah. I mean, the defensive plays
in this series have been have been awesome. And by
the way, by the time people listen on podcasts tomorrow,
they already don't know. And we'll say, if that sounds stupid,
as the Dodgers get the second out a five, nine,
two eighth, twenty two eighty seven, we will take your
(09:13):
calls and be right back. Cats with a Big Road
sec win. This is the Local Toy Dealers KSR post
game show, Welcome Back. It is a Local Toy Dealers
KSR postgame show. The baseball game goes to the eleventh.
I didn't realize that the Yama Moto pitch last night.
So the dude that started last night is now in
in relief. That's crazy. That never happens in baseball, doesn't it.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
When it's game seven, you just throw everything you got
at it.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Right?
Speaker 1 (09:39):
No, but how many times? I mean he started last
night and now they bringing back. That's that's crazy. I don't.
I feel like that never happens. But then again, I
guess it is game seven, A five nine, twenty two
eighty seven. If you haven't seen the videos, you need
to see of the two hockey games going on right now.
There's an Edmonton game in Edmonton and then there's an
LA Kings game in l and they have the video
(10:02):
of in both games when it looked like Toronto one
in the ninth the Edmonton crowd goes crazy and then
realizes he's out at home right, And then in the
Dodgers game, when he makes the catch to send it
into extra innings, they go crazy. You need to see
those videos because the people on the ice don't know
what's going on, and they're like, why is everyone yelling?
(10:24):
And they're because they're watching their other games on their phones. AF.
I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. I guess
let's just get started. Who's up first?
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Wild Bill?
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Wild Bill? How are you hey?
Speaker 5 (10:37):
I'm good, Matt, Billy.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
How are y'all doing doing well?
Speaker 6 (10:42):
Good?
Speaker 5 (10:42):
I just wanted to say I finished off a vacation
earlier this weekend Destin and drove up to Red rush
In and Opalaca, Alabama, and made my way into Auburn tonight,
and man, as much crap about I've been talking about
Stoops for a while now all my friends and family,
I'll be on. I wanted him gone, but like, man,
(11:03):
this reeled me back in. This is like a Quintin.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Oh you flipped. Wait a minute, you flipped?
Speaker 5 (11:10):
I did? I did. I'm Matt as had season tickets
since I was a freshman at UK in twenty ten.
My first game was like O two and Lorenzen and
they got in a fight with Middle Tennessee State back
in the day. Like it runs in my veins, man,
like I want Stoops to win, but like he want
(11:31):
to leave and tonight tonight, it's a great example of
why Stoops has done so well for us.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
I agree with that. I do agree with that. Well,
let me ask you a question. You were at the game,
so you're probably in part caught up in the emotion, which,
by the way, good on you for going to that game,
because I don't think we had We didn't have a
ton of people there. Am I right about that?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (11:49):
But I bought these tickets along with Louisville tickets back
in the summer.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
We'll stand so good on you for going. But let's
say they were let's say they were lose to Florida,
Vandy and Louisville. Would you'll feel that way?
Speaker 5 (12:04):
I mean yeah, But it's like you've talked about it
off and on over the past few weeks. Here, it's
like we got.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Louisville gat Sorry, sorry, Louisville will Smith home run, but
go ahead.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
We've got a pipe dream at six and six. I'll
admit that it's a pike, but sure, if that happens,
it's like, what do all the Stukes naysayers? And I'll
be the first to bite the bullet, Like I have
dogged him for weeks. I've dogged him going back to
twenty eighteen when he had that moment in that little
documentary of give it to Bennie, Give it to Bennie,
(12:40):
Give it to Bennie. Like everybody wants to micro analyze
the offense, and I'm I'm right there with him. But
at the same time, defense, running the football, turnovers, field
position wins football games. And we won an SEC game
on the planes when the craziest stuff that could ever
happen kind of sort of happened there in the second half,
a little blip of it. But like I just wanted
(13:01):
to say, like, no.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
I understand, you're right. Listen. First of all, I might
not have to cut you off. I appreciate the call, enjoyed,
I'm glad you went to the game, enjoy the drive back.
It's there are people already crying in the crowd. Billy,
That's that's not a good look anyway, I get it.
I would be we all will have to salute him
if he goes six and six. You have to, because everybody,
(13:24):
including myself will have said there's no way. But we're
still always away from that. You gotta beat Florida and
then you're gonna have to pull off a big upset.
I mean, Vandy and louivill are top fifteen teams and
you're gonna have to go beat him on the road.
So let's but if he does, they'll deserve he'll deserve
(13:44):
a huge level of you know, praise. But it's far
from happening. But they had to get this one and
they did, so that is a that's a huge, huge thing.
By the way, it would be billy torture to be
fans of one of these teams dur any game like this. Yeah,
(14:05):
like for like, especially Toronto. I mean, the Dodgers won
last year, so while it's what you know, if they lost,
they won last year. For Toronto, if they lose this,
this will be torture. Having the ball get stuck under
the thing last night. Yeah, the double play, the fact
that they ran into each other it was a half
and you know they had a lead three to nothing
(14:26):
in this game. It will be torture if you're a
Toronto fan if you lose to Who's next, Thomas, Thomas,
Go ahead, Thomas, Matt.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
You've been the case for years that the Alabama and
Georgia kind of place. We would be an upper tier
close to that, but never get there. But now seeing
what louis and Vanderbilt has done, are you changing and
thinking on where we might be somewhere if we had Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah, but remember now, look what happened to I mean
Vandy lost today, right they lost at home or they
lost to Texas today. I mean, I still think it's
really really hard, but I think, yeah, Louisville does not.
Louisvill's not part of it to me because they're in
the ACC. I think teams in the ACC, in Big Twelve,
every single one of them have a chance to do
(15:12):
something special because the conference isn't great, but in the
SEC and to a lesser extent, the Big Ten because
there are bad teams in the Big Ten. Although there
are great teams that are bad teams. I did not
think a team like Vandy or a team like the
Missouri could do what they can do. So yes, I
do think Kentucky could win ten games, nine games whatever
(15:34):
and go to a playoff. Do I think they can
do it regularly? No? But could they do it one time?
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Sure? Yes, I do believe that, but it's gonna make
it change a person out do that though, right, because
we've had the same thing for a long time.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Well right, yeah, I mean maybe, but I would again
acknowledge though again, like, okay, I saw stat from let's
go back to the year we went beat Penn State
in the UH in the Citrus Bowl. We might have
been in the playoff that year if there had been
a twelve team playoff? Right, So, do I think it's
(16:10):
likely that if you kept Mark Stoops, et cetera, you
would go to the playoff? But no, I don't. But
do I think it's impossible. I don't think it's I mean,
it's not impossible, but it's unlikely. I think that's fair
to say.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
But Vanderbilt did pass us up.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
They have. But let me ask you what you say,
if what do we beat? What if we beat Florida
and we go down there and upset them in Nashville,
then what do you say? What if that scenario right
there happens? No, but you you crack up. But I
don't think but I don't think that's but yeah, exactly,
But That's what I'm saying, Like, I don't think that's
I don't think it's likely. I think it's unlikely, But
(16:50):
I don't think it's crazy that we could go down
there and win. It's not crazy. No, no, And then
what do you say? I mean, what do we all say?
Speaker 4 (17:01):
I'm I'm gonna hang there and see.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah, exactly, that's what we have to do. I appreciate
the call. What do we what do we do in
that scenario? I mean, we would have to salute him, right,
But first you gotta beat floor We gotta enjoy this
one and then be FLOORA and uh then see if
y'amamoto can become MVP and finish the city. What's next? Tim? Tim?
Go ahead?
Speaker 7 (17:22):
Tim, hey man, how's it going?
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Bud doing good?
Speaker 7 (17:27):
Yeah, big win for the Cats tonight. Listen. I'm a
Stoops fan. I won't deny that, and and I always
will be. Listen. You know I've watched you know, the
Cats since seventy six, you know, Peach Bowl on and uh,
you know, I'm just supporting Stoops. There's a big win today.
(17:48):
You know, I don't think it's Ala brown that we
we beat Florida. Saturday coming up and uh, you know,
we do a good you know, we do a good
job with Dandy down there in Vandy. So we'll see
what happens. And go from there.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
What do you think? I agree completely. I was trying
to think and I appreciate the call what the spread
would be? You know they I have thought the last
two spreads on the Kentucky games were just awful by
I mean, I thought, I thought Tennessee at seven and
a half was free money for Tennessee. I couldn't believe
it was that close. And then I thought Auburn it
was eleven and a half at kick I I don't
(18:26):
understand that at all either. I didn't think we were
gonna win, but I thought we'd be closed. So so
I don't know what they're gonna do. My guess is
Florida will be like a three and a half point favorite.
That's just my guess. But I don't know Flad gets
(18:46):
a double billy. Maybe it's not over for your Blue
Jays yet.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I don't want it to end. This has been awesome.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah it is. Who's next?
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Squirrel?
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Squirrel? How are you? Squirrel?
Speaker 6 (18:58):
I'm doing pretty good. Hey, Mad, I'm sorry, but you're
gonna throw me in the in that selfish category. Man,
I'm sad, I'm mad, I'm everything in between.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
You're sad and mad that we won.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
I'm sad that I feel this way, but I'm mad
that we won. Yes, yes, I am okay.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Now, Squirrel, You've always been a good Kentucky fan. I
mean I met you over the years. You you get
into the games, you're I mean you are, You're a
very good fan.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yes, And that's why I'm sad. That's why i'm Why
would you.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Mean, why would you be I can understand why you'd
be disappointed yourself, But why would you be mad that
we won a game at Auburn for only the fourth
time in the in the history of the school.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Because it's like we're just kicking the ten down the road.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
It's like, but are we?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
But what if we beat Florida and then we beat Vandy.
If I told you, Squirrel before the season started, Kentucky
goes six and six makes a you would have probably said,
I'll take.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
It correct, I would, Okay, So.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
What if that? What if that happens, then.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
I guess we're keeping But I mean, I don't think.
I don't think there's any way that this is repaired.
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
I mean, yes, isn't it it's repaired? If they go
six and six? I mean, look, do I think it's likely.
Do I think it's likely?
Speaker 9 (20:28):
No?
Speaker 1 (20:29):
But do I think there's a good, a decent chance
we beat Florida next week and we go into the
Vandy and Louisville game having to win one to go
to a bowl. Yes, I think that legitimately can happen.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
I agree. I just, uh, you know, I just I
don't know. I just to be honest, I just kind
of wish that we just read the band aid off
and wish I don't want say I wish I do.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Yes, all right, Well, I appreciate the call. That's harder
for me to understand. I'm I'm not. Yeah, I just
I could never root against my team. I couldn't you know,
if you were in the pros and it was like
the end of the year and you're going for the
first pick or something, you know, I understand that. But
in for college sports, we only especially football, we only
(21:16):
play twelve games. Like, I don't know, I can't root
against the team that I follow. I just I can't.
Who's next?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Well, I was gonna say, Stoops being emotional after the
win was probably my favorite part of the whole season.
I mean, it still means a lot to have success
because of all that he's accomplished here.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I think you're exactly right for me that that is
the best part of the season. I think that. I
think that's completely Uh, Tucker, Tucker, what's up? Tucker?
Speaker 10 (21:44):
Hey, Matt, can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yes?
Speaker 10 (21:47):
Hey, first time caller here. You know, it just kind
of reflecting on what one of my friends said. You know,
Stoops kind of makes you just, for lack of better term,
just hate life, but he kind of brings you right
back in. You're like, I love this guy. I love
this guy. And it's funny how that works with this program. Like,
you know, you feel like, wow, like, how are we
(22:10):
gonna lose this game? And whenever Hugh Freeze had no
idea what he was doing at halftime, he talked about
bringing in Jackson Arnold. I thought, oh my god, here
comes Jackson Arnold's heisman.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
If you were gonna make the change, I feel like
you would do it. At halftime. It was weird to
me that he can't. He makes the change. The guy
brings in actually has a good drive. They ended up
not getting points out of it, but he has a
good drive. Then he takes him out and then brings
the other guy and then he brings him back. It
was clear he had no game plan at all. That's
(22:46):
what I mean, that's what he's gonna be fired. He
was gonna be fired no matter what if we lost.
But he should be fired just for how he handled
the quarterback situation tonight.
Speaker 8 (22:55):
That's how bad it was.
Speaker 10 (22:57):
He brought you know, he started this guy and then
he said, oh, we'll give him one drive.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
He gave him.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
He gave Jackson ardor to what two drives.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
But he had a good drive. But the guy, the
guy had a good drive. That was like, they're probably
the best drive of the game. And then they took
him out. I didn't understand that.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Yeah, and it just goes to show that ju Freeze
was scared out of his mind about what happens if
I lose to Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 10 (23:21):
I hate to say, kind of shows where our program
is at. But either way, I love that he won
the game, and I love how Brad White played and
responded his whole defense responded to what happened last week. Also,
that Ty Bryant targeting review was so bs I hate that,
but at least you would have got kicked out I
think I would have thrown my TV off me too.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
I totally agree with you. Appreciate the call, and the
Dodgers get a double play and they win the World Series. Wow?
Or I do feel bad for the Blue Jays fans
man that is.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
I mean three one series lead or three two give
up a.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Home run to a dude Miguel Rojas. I mean, look
at that's brutal, and you know, wow, that's tough. All right,
we'll take a break. If I'm nine two eighth twenty
two eighty seven, We'll be right back. This is the
Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. Welcome back. It is
(24:19):
a Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. I put out
a social media like quick reaction to the game. I
think I'm gonna start doing those billy from wherever I
am just like two minutes before that.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
What is it? It's a video of you recapping it.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Yeah, well, just like a two minute like for people
who maybe don't get to turn on the show, right, so't.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I don't kind of like I don't like that now.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Oh you want me to save all thoughts for here?
Speaker 4 (24:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (24:44):
I like horde all thoughts, Yeah, my hard all right,
I'm not listening to you, but I'm glad to get
you to get your opinion. The guy who called the
game is on the phone, Tom Hart, with a special
postgame show call in from Auburn. Tom, Surprise, what'd you think?
Speaker 11 (25:03):
Well, to be fair, I'm calling it from Inner CED
eighty five on my drive hold. But yeah, man, I
thought that was I thought that was a vintage Mark
Stoops performance. I thought Brad White took advantage of a
seventeen year old center and they just kept hammering him
and made plays up the middle and made plays with
(25:24):
the defense with what was it, seven sacks, And I
thought it was really neat the way Alyssa handled Mark
Stoops post game, he was obviously emotional.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yes, he's he.
Speaker 11 (25:38):
Knows what's at stake. And I said this at the
end of the game. He's a fiercely proud man. Yeah,
And the last season and a half has been incredibly disappointing,
I know for the fan base, but it's been disappointing
for him given what he's built. And so you know,
you know me, Matt, Like, I'm not a fan of programs.
(26:00):
I get to be fans of people and individuals, and
I was just it warned my cockles to see.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, I understand. I was the same way. I think.
I think any person who's gotten to know Mark Stoops
at all would feel exactly like you did. I didn't
run as a center with seventeen. By the way, I
could hear the disdain in Cole's voice for all things
Auburn offensive line all night as a former Auburn player
and offensive lineman. I could just hear him like trying
(26:31):
to hold in how frustrated he was at them all night.
Speaker 11 (26:35):
Well, I think the frustration specifically from Cole, and if
you look at a big picture, like what Hugh Freeze
was trying to do with his quarterbacks was the story
of the game because it will probably cost hu Freeze's job.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yes, is that it.
Speaker 11 (26:49):
Doesn't matter who's back there if you can't protect them
and they don't have time. And you know, credit Kentucky
for attacking the weak point. But gole Lee, like you're
could have changed quarterbacks three times in one game.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah, that was ridiculous. I didn't. I didn't understand that
at all. Well, let me ask you this, Mark Stoops,
you know him a little bit, you were around him.
Where do you I mean, I I they didn't. I
assume they thought they could come in and win. How
do you think they feel like they can finish this year?
I mean there is a path to him going to
a bowl.
Speaker 12 (27:26):
Of course there is. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (27:29):
My biggest concern overall is it cutter Bully's accuracy took
a step back. You probably saw the look on bush
Hamden's face when with like two twenty to go, instead
of running it, they.
Speaker 12 (27:43):
Took a shot. Yeah, it was a very poorly thrown ball.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
It was. I didn't mind the call. I didn't mind
the call. It was a bad ball, and I'm not
sure that they should have thrown the play the idea,
but I didn't mind throwing it right there, trying to
finish the game.
Speaker 12 (28:00):
Try it would have sealed the game.
Speaker 11 (28:02):
Stoops on the headset right after that, there's a shot
of him going what are we doing?
Speaker 12 (28:07):
So I understand that.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
The middle he wanted to run it up the middle.
That's what he wanted to do. I'm sure, well, and if.
Speaker 12 (28:15):
You run up the middle you forced him to take
another time out, you do.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
But then, but my view is you can't have it
both ways. Because we've we've all been complaining about the
fact they ran it up the middle four straight times
against Texas. You know at some point, I don't know.
I mean, like, I guess Stop just wants to run
up the middle all the time. But I actually didn't mind.
I just wish it had been a better play.
Speaker 11 (28:38):
Yeah, and he goes back like, Cutter had some throws
tonight where granted, they lit him up a few times
and he was rushed a lot, but there were a
few throws that just came out of his hand weird,
Like even some of the completions were floated.
Speaker 12 (28:54):
And came out of his hand weird.
Speaker 11 (28:55):
So, anyway, to answer your question, Cutter hadn't made incredible
progress and the game plan had allowed him to over
the last since the off week, right, especially, he's got.
Speaker 12 (29:10):
To be more efficient for this season to end on
a high note.
Speaker 11 (29:13):
What, however, you define that, and you know you're gonna
have to do it against Florida to start, and then.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
You are here next week, right, aren't you? Aren't you
here next week? Again?
Speaker 11 (29:24):
Uh, it's our time slot. I would guess we are there.
I don't have the assignment yet, but yeah, I would,
I would expect it were there. I think you made
the point on the show today yesterday you made a
great point when one of the callers like, well, Auburn
stinks and Florida stinks. You can't pick and choose when
(29:46):
you value those wins. Yeah, they all count the same
in the conference standings, and so I just think everything.
I shouldn't say everything is still in front of him
because obviously they struggled. But wow, you know you do
have opportunities and this has to make you feel good
that you go on the road. Auburn is never an
(30:07):
easy place to play at. So I give him a
lot of credit for getting it done.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Yeah, I do too, Tom's he's great. And Uh, when
whenever your next UK basketball game is, I'm looking forward
to what you work in. We I catch them, they're
they're harder. You're more subtle about it now. It makes
it much harder. But when we get it, I appreciate it.
Speaker 11 (30:27):
I did my best tonight. Uh, it's harder in the
closer games.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
But yeah, I couldn't tell which one. What did you
do tonight? I was listening. I didn't get one.
Speaker 12 (30:37):
Uh it was now you put me on the spot.
Speaker 11 (30:41):
It was early and it was very vague, but I
stuck one in and like the late first quarter, I have.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
To give somebody sent me one. I'll have to look
and see what it was. But I didn't. I did
actually had it on mute at the start of the
first quarter, so maybe I missed it. Uh, it wasn't.
I just thank you. I was I was trying to
I was watching the Breeders cup. I was trying to
make money. Tom appreciate it. Be safe getting home, all right, Ah, buddy, thanks,
(31:08):
all right, see you if I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven, who's next, Billy Corey? Corey? Go ahead, Corey.
Speaker 13 (31:16):
Hey, Matt, you know, I'm just I'm more or less
just curious how you all more or less like what
you thought about Steve's comments at the end when he
had his uh has an interview there on the field.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
It was like it was kind of you know, I was.
It made me really happy for him. I'm glad he
got that moment. I don't know what the next few
weeks are gonna be like. I don't know what it's
gonna feel like, but he deserved to have that moment.
He's given a lot to this place. It has to
be hard. Are you is he still there? The caller. Yeah, yeah,
(31:48):
it has to be hard. It has to be hard
when you and I'm not saying fan rea. I mean
some fan reaction is over the top. But you know,
we did that little poll in what ninety seven percent
the fans and they want to change. And I don't
think those people are unreasonable, but it does have to
be hard if you're the coach and you so want
(32:08):
this to work and you want this fan base to
love you, because Mark Stoops genuinely wants to be loved.
He is not someone who is confrontation like. He wants
to be embraced, and it has to be hard if
this group of people you want to embrace you are
saying they want you to go, that just has to
be hard. So, just on a human level, watching him
(32:30):
be happy makes me happy. You know, this is serious
business on the one hand, and like, if he's not
the guy, you might have to make a change, But
if you're a human being, you want other human beings
to have happy moments. And so it really did, Like
it made me happy to see a guy have that
kind of emotion because I'm sure it was a.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Great feelings gone.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Now does I hope that's I articulated that correctly, But
there's just a human being part of it that, you know.
I like to see people like Hugh Freeze seems like
a jerk. Okay, no he does. I don't know if
he is. Maybe he's not, but you look at his history,
he just seems like a jerk. So when he gets
booed off the field at the end, I don't feel
(33:15):
bad for him. Mark has faults, but he's not a jerk.
He's like I just he's a human being that has
a lot of strengths. He's got some weaknesses and just
overall though, he wants to be loved and like, it's
nice to see him get that for a knight. We'll
see what happens next week. Who's next, Jerry, Jerry? Go ahead,
(33:38):
Jerry hey Man.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
First off, all I say congratulation to students and the
teams will win. I mean, I'm I'm glad they finally
had something to celebrate. But uh, you know, all along,
I felt like until Mayfire got fired, I felt like
the Auburn game was the best chance for them to
get a win because, like you said that, he Freeze
is a jerk, and I think team and you tell
(34:03):
his team that it was just it was dysfunctional. I mean,
he's gonna get fired tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Yeah he is. He's gonna be fired, and he needs
to be fired because it wasn't just that they lost,
although that would be bad enough. It was like just
the way they handled the quarterbacks and they just they
were like, I don't know what's what happened there, but
it's clear they need a change.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:23):
Well he's I suspect, like Brian Kelly, once he gets fired,
you're gonna start hearing the lost stories coming out of
there about the way this treat a lot of players
and I actuid. I mean, he could just tell some
of those guys weren't playing hard. But now Florida, I
thought we were gonna have a good chance because I
thought Florida be a little dysfunctional because of the whole
Natrier thinging. Man, they look good today and Florida's got
(34:45):
a lot of talent, and we might lose.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
But I would note that, like a lot of these,
I think one of the consistent themes of teams in
the SEC that aren't really good is that one week
you get one performance, in the next week you get
a different one, right, And so it's it's it's hard
to know. I mean, you know, you get Texas looks
awful against US, and then they go beat Vandy. Right
Florida has looked horrendous and then they played Georgia really well.
(35:13):
Tennessee has looked great, but then they lose at home
to Oklahoma. Like you just I don't when you these
when you're not very good, like I think that the
variety of how you play can change a lot.
Speaker 8 (35:25):
And it was nice to see those fat orangeless, orange
toothless goobers lose to Oklahoma tonight. That was outstanding at
home at home.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
I appreciate the call. That's a bad loss, and they're
eliminated now, I think from the playoffs. So you know,
you probably saw and I appreciate the call two of
you know, I don't consider Vandy arrival. But if you
were to say, okay, in football, who are the teams
that we have the biggest whatever with, it's probably Tennessee,
Vandy and Louisville. And it's a good chance of two
(35:55):
of them got eliminade from the playoff today. Fandy Mays
have an outside shop, but probably not. I mean Tennessee's
out and and he's probably out, you know, Louisville still in. Uh,
Indiana is in. I can't believe how good Indiana is.
Not just that they win, but that they beat everybody
by forty blowing them out. Yeah, like that that's amazing
(36:18):
to me. I mean, I don't know that dude might
be the best coach that's ever existed. So I mean,
it's you know, I thought last year was just a fluke.
They didn't really play anybody, and they haven't played many
people this year, but they won an Oregon so you
can't like ignore that. But the fact that they just
(36:38):
down these teams, it's just really amazing. I mean, they
beat Illinois what like sixty three to fifteen, then they
won to day fifty five to ten. Like it's crazy,
and he's in Indiana, but he might he might be
the best coach of all time. Let's do one more.
We'll take a final break. Who's there, Kelly, Kelly, go ahead, kill.
Speaker 14 (37:04):
I feel like I can be delusional again, just for
a moment.
Speaker 15 (37:07):
Okay, go for it, because like, look the way that
Stoops wins games. It may not be sustainable long term
and he may still have to get fired, but just
for tonight, I can be a happy fan. And to
go back to something that he said, just real quick,
you said something about you want Mark Stoops to have.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Happy moments or you're praised it something like that.
Speaker 15 (37:33):
I want a human being who's given me as a
fan so many happy moments to have a happy moment
in turn. And tonight's another one of those happy moments.
We may not get a seventeen year old center that
we can eviscerate every single game. Yeah, we may not
be able. We may not be able to win a
game only scoring ten points, which, by the way, the
(37:54):
last time we did that was when we were playing
a wide receiver at quarterback. But for tonight, I can
have another happy moment and I'm fine with that. I'm
fine with that. We can address the future of suits later.
I was fully expecting for this to be a horrible
game and it wasn't. So I I'm fine, And for tonight,
(38:17):
I'm gonna let myself be delusional.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
I totally agree that's the way to be. That would
be my call of the night. I agree with you,
I totally agree.
Speaker 10 (38:26):
Why not.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
I mean, at the end of the day, we're supposed
to enjoy this and a lot of times with Kentucky
football and all of our lives, it has not been enjoyable.
And in the last two years specifically, it's really not
been enjoyable. And you know what, like this was enjoyable
in the sense that we won. We got we got
a coach fired, and we got a coach fires who
all by all measures, seems to be the worst. So
(38:49):
you know what he can course exactly, you know, I mean,
like he we know his history, and like he doesn't
seem like he's a very fun like pleasant guy to
begin with. So he just got fired. Kentucky got a
coach fired, and we went on the road. And I'm
with you, enjoy it. I appreciate the call. I enjoyed it.
I was you know, I wondered, I'd wonder what I
(39:11):
have even a moment of like, well, if we win.
I wasn't. I was pulling for him the whole game.
I was pumping my fist and uh, you know, I
was pacing on my floor here just like anything else.
I'm gonna be doing the same thing next week. You know,
you beat Auburn in Florida, we can still have the
discussion of what we need to do at the end
of the year. But I'm never not gonna enjoy myself
(39:33):
winning an SEC road game against a team in Alabama
because we haven't done it. I mean in my lifetime.
I think we've done it once. So you know I'm
gonna enjoy it now it's twice if I'm nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. By the way, tomorrow,
if you're in Cincinnati, I'm going to the Bengals Bears
game and I'm doing Billy. I'm going to bed as
(39:56):
this is over, getting up at seven point fifteen in
the morning, driving to Cincinnati and doing Matt Myron from
the Holy Grail tomorrow in Cincinnati. So if you're going
to the Bengals game tomorrow, if you want to stop
by the Holy Grail and say hello, I'd love to
say I to you.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Sounds like a nice spot, the Holy Grail.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Yeah, it's right across from the Red Stadium. At least
we get to fall back, so I get one more
hours leap. That's true, so six hours instead of well
I hope six hours. We'll take a break. Be right back.
It's the Local Toyer Dealers KSR postgame show. Welcome Back.
It is the local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. I'm
(40:41):
eighty seven, had a good day with the Breeders' Cup today,
Billy big hit for for Uncle Man.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Did the Pig five come in?
Speaker 1 (40:48):
After the Pig five did not come in? But I
had forever Young was my was my classic pick and
I had everything built around it. So that was that
was a probably that was a huge score, and then
I did a pretty good on the rest of to
day too. It's probably my best Breeders Cup day ever.
Usually I love betting the Breeders Cup because you can
get good horses at longer odds because there's so many
(41:10):
good horses in the races. Yeah, a lot of horses
drop out, so it wasn't quite the prices you normally get,
but but I enjoyed. I really like the Breeders Cup.
Derby's I mean, Derby's my favorite, but like Breeders Cup's
really good. I think it's an underrated sporting event. And
it's back here at Keelan again next year, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
I think it's coming back. I don't know if it's
next year.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
I'm going I've gone the last time I was the
You remember the two years we had it. We had
American Pharaoh and we had flight Line. Arguably the two
best horses of the last what twenty five years have
been the two breeders cups here. So maybe we'll have
another good one next year. Hef I'm nine to eight
(41:50):
oh twenty two eighty seven. Who's up next, Richard? Go ahead,
Richard Hey Hey.
Speaker 16 (41:56):
Billy I called in last week after the Tennessee loss
and was really the more and said we should have
gotten rid of Stoops last year. But I agree with Billy,
this was the highlight of my season. I think that
this should be about joy and when every other team
departs from there with their coach, like you all were saying,
it's going to be ugly, it's going to be messy
(42:19):
because a lot of those guys are not really that nice.
I mean, I would take Stoops over a lot of
these people just as human beings, because Stoops was a
very vulnerable person. He's a very open person and not
really Braggadocia's sort of kind of coach and the world
needs more of that, and the world needs to see
that succeed and the world needs to see that beloved.
(42:39):
And I mean my grandfather played on the fifty three
team under Bear Bryant, and I have so much love
in my heart for Kentucky football, even going back to
the Joker years. I went to the Blue White practice
when we had Randall Cobb and he threw his glove
up in the stands and I still have that in
my room. But you ought to read what are the Rings?
Speaker 13 (43:00):
Matt?
Speaker 9 (43:01):
I know you're not in there.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
You've read it. I've read it. I've read it.
Speaker 9 (43:05):
He wat he is our king, Sald He's our king.
And I'm going to the game Saturday. That is our
helms Deep. We are going there. We're going to slutter
those gators. And then we're writing to the gates of
Louisville Door and we're gonna slutter those words too.
Speaker 13 (43:22):
Believe.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
First of all, I appreciate the call. I like the
emotion behind it. I like the Lord of the Rings reference. See,
we don't get a lot. This is why I like
doing shows late at night. He gets he draws a
different kind of person. Bill. You get people comparing Mark
Stoops to Lord what's his name? It's been so long,
sin See, I've never seen the movies, which is crazy.
I gotta the only person in the world who's read
the books and not seen the movies.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah, you gotta go watch the movies.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
I read them books when I was like in high school,
and I've never I've got to watch the movies. I can't.
I sit down to watch it and I watch like
the first thirty minutes where they're having the party, and
then Gandalf shows up, and then I end up just
getting somewhere around and they walk off and they go
into that thing and the horses come by. Then I
end up just like falling asleep and I never started again.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
Are you like Shannon and hate like Star Wars and
Harry Potter?
Speaker 1 (44:09):
Yeah, well, I mean I've never seen Harry Potter though either.
I have seen Star Wars, although I don't think i've
seen them all. I saw Star Wars, Return of the
Jedi and Fire Strikes Back. I saw one or two
of the prequels. I don't think I've seen any of
the what is it post quals seven, eight nine.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
I don't have to watch those.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
I saw four or five, six, and I guess I
saw like one two.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
I haven't seen three.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
I don't think so.
Speaker 8 (44:37):
No.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
I remember I saw jar Jar. I saw it. I
went to the theater when Jar jarr and all that,
and then watched all that circus.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Yeah I.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Went I wasn't there Opening nine, but I was there
where people were dressed up and all that. That was
when I was in college. So who's next?
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Five more Christian?
Speaker 1 (44:56):
Christian? Go ahead? Christian?
Speaker 17 (45:00):
That first time?
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Long time? Who are What's up?
Speaker 17 (45:03):
Just overall, just a really special night. I was sitting
there watching a game. I didn't have high expectations going in.
I don't really know how I how I feel about
Stup's still being there, but I started getting my hopes up.
I started really getting into it, and then we threw
the interception and then we got the fubble it.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
It was, yeah, you know that interception. I mean like
that play is such a huge play. I mean because
if that I'm not I'm not certain they would have scored,
because they really weren't moving the ball either way, but
they would have at least probably gotten a field goal.
And then I do think it changes kind of how
(45:42):
the game gets played, and to do it on hustle, uh,
I think it's actually a fitting way for a Mark
Stup's team to win.
Speaker 17 (45:50):
Honestly, one thousand percent. And then at that postgame interview,
like Billy was talking about man, I didn't know what
to think, so I just started crying.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
I mean, I did you just I.
Speaker 17 (46:01):
Just started cryming.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 17 (46:02):
I don't know what the future holds with him, but
I mean he's brought majority of my Kentucky football memories
to me, and that was just another special one with
just with where it's at, you know. I sometimes I'm like,
let's get rid of this guy. Other times I'm like,
let's you know, let's ride it out. But but yeah,
just a really special moment. And yeah, I mean my
(46:24):
I'm I'm very optimistic now, so let's let's go seven.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
I appreciate the call. It's interesting to me, like I'm
glad we've done this postgame show because I kind of
it's nice to hear some of this talk. I mean,
obviously it's helped by the fact we won. I don't
know if people would have been this positive otherwise, but
it's nice to hear some of this. By the way,
one o'clock tomorrow, Kentucky and Texas number two versus number
three in women's volleyball, we're gonna be having to watch
(46:49):
party at ks Bar. I know the folks with the
that are kind of maybe some of the people family
members are like, there's there's gonna be a like a
lot of people there, I hope. But there will certainly
be some people there and it should be fun so
going out there. But even if you don't watch the game,
I mean, this is tuch. He's probably playing to lock
in it's ninth SEC title in a row and a
(47:13):
chance to host the tournament all the way to the
final four. I mean, so massive game tomorrow, Kentucky Volleyball.
Who's next?
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Ken, Ken?
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Go ahead?
Speaker 18 (47:21):
Ken hey Man, a long time listener for Time caller
who grew up grew up with cats, right yep? And
and my happy with suits.
Speaker 1 (47:36):
Ish, I understand, I actually understand that answer to me.
Speaker 18 (47:43):
He's got and he's done more for this program than
any other coach since far Bryant. Yeah, and we're wanting
to run him out of rail because we're not winning.
Our fans are delusional Alabama.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
Yeah, Okay, I went now, li Usten, I went with
you up until right then. Okay. I think being happy
Ish is good. And I think your comments about since
Bell Bear Bryan are good. I don't think it's ridiculous
for our fans not to want to go four and eight,
four and eight. Okay, I don't think that's ridiculous.
Speaker 18 (48:13):
No, I don't want to none, But I think it's
quick that we forget that at what the two three
years ago we were seventh in the country.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
We were, But that's but but that's a long time ago.
That's a long time ago. And well, first of all,
it wasn't two or three years ago, it was four
years ago. But but but nevertheless, yeah, twenty two, which
is four seasons ago, depend on how you count three four,
but you know, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four, twenty five, regardless.
It's not so much though about like you cannot build
(48:45):
the future based on saying, well he did it four
years ago. The question is how does it look for
the future. And I think it looks for the future
a lot different if we finished six and six then
if it does four and eight. But let's just say
we finished four and out, then all of a sudden,
you're back to back four and eight seasons. How do
you at that point say it looks good for the future.
Speaker 18 (49:08):
It's a tougher argument.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Yeah, so we still have a lot to see what happens.
Because I can make either claim The harder claim is
gonna be if we finished five and seven, I don't
know what to say then, Okay, But if we finished
six and six, then I'm gonna you're gonna hear me say,
if he wants to come back, we have to have
him back. If we finished four and eight, you're probably
gonna hear me say, we got to make a change.
If he finishes five and seven, then I don't know
(49:32):
what I'm gonna say to be honest with you, and
I don't think UK knows what it would do in
that scenario, to be honest with you.
Speaker 18 (49:39):
So go back in time when this schedule was released.
What was your overall expectations for this?
Speaker 1 (49:47):
Well, no, I thought we were gonna eight. I thought
we were gonna go four and eight because I thought
we were gonna be terrible and I and we're you know,
so we're on pace to go exactly what I thought.
I think I thought we would beat Uh who did
I think we would beat? Well, I can't remember who
I picked. Maybe it was Florida. I think it was Florida.
(50:09):
But I picked this to go four to eight. I
said we would steal an SEC game. I thought, you know,
I thought the over running. The overrunner was four and
a half or you know, I thought that seemed right.
But if we win six, to me, it's a success.
Now it's weird because we're used to Kentucky seasons. If
you remember, where we would win all the games at
the beginning and then lose them at the end. We
(50:30):
might have a weird year where because we played Georgia
and South Carolina and Old Miss so early, where we
lose all the games at the beginning and win at
the end. So it's kind of strange.
Speaker 18 (50:44):
Well, the parody that is now college football, where you
have teams like Indiana being number two, you have.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
The we don't know if that's going to continue. Yeah,
we don't know if that's going to continue, though, I
mean I think I think there's a chance it can,
but I don't think that's certain because I think this
is a period of time where programs are trying to
figure out what works, and then once they figure out
what works, you're gonna see a dominant group of programs
rise to the top. But it hasn't happened yet, which
(51:13):
is why you've got this period where teams can make
big moves.
Speaker 18 (51:20):
I have, on the other hand, of getting rid of suits.
I find it very tough that, you know, we can't
come up with thirty six million dollars with our fan
base and the money that we we shell out for everything.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
We'll see, we'll see, let's see what happens. Let's see
what happens here in a few weeks. I appreciate the call.
The other thing to remember is, you know, I will
note that one of the things people want is they
want billy kind of a salary cap, right for the anile.
But here's the thing that will happen with the salary cap.
Then I think you'll go back to where the tradition,
programs and all that start to matter more, right, because
(51:55):
everybody's paying the same amount of money.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
Because in theory before in Io, even though people were
slide money under the table, everybody was paying the same
amount of money zero and what happened the same teams
were good every year. So I don't know. I think
this is I agree with Mark Pope. It's a unique thing.
We don't know what's gonna happen. Let's do two more
and we'll call it a night.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Who's next, Let's go to Ford Ford?
Speaker 14 (52:20):
Go ahead, Hey, I haven't heard anybody give this guy
Flowers tonight. Bring on the thief burrier jokes. But aiden
offside a hell of a game he did.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
He did. I should have said that he had an
awesome game and he flipped field position and they have
a good punter Auburn too, and we like that. You're
exactly right, he deserves a lot of credit. Pin them
in se times.
Speaker 19 (52:43):
Five of them were within the ten and the one
that was not within the ten was a fifty seven
yard bomb on our side from our side of the
field that puts them on the sixteen. There exactly right,
Cam Miller for the punch out on the interception.
Speaker 14 (52:59):
I think he's the MVP of the game.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
Anyway.
Speaker 14 (53:01):
He made them go a long way against our defense,
which is playing really well.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
So anyway appreciates Oh wait wait, go ahead, sorry, I
want I.
Speaker 18 (53:11):
Want to remind everybody.
Speaker 14 (53:13):
People are gonna say, well, oh, we only scored ten
points a and m only scored sixteen. This is a
I mean, Auburn's a top ten defense in the country.
I see him is not over until the fat ladies things.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
Now.
Speaker 14 (53:24):
She might be warming up the vocal cords, but I mean,
we can we want to we won an SEC game.
Let's be let's have a good time tonight.
Speaker 1 (53:31):
I mean, come on, I agree with you. Appreciates call.
She was walking on stage before this game, and now
she has to go back into her dressing room and uh,
let's see what happens. You know, you're right, that's a
good defense. You know, Kentucky's offense has struggle, but we
have played in Georgia, Texas and Auburn. We have played
three of the best defenses in the country. We have
(53:54):
and you know, I'm not glack like we scored a lot.
We dominant to get those defense We've played really good defenses.
When we played bad defenses Tennessee, Old Miss, we've actually
scored a lot of points. I don't know what you
call South Carolina. I was in South Africa. I didn't
see that game. Bially, I'm acting like that game didn't happen.
Who's next?
Speaker 2 (54:15):
I think it's Heart's Hearts will.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Finish with you. What do you got, hey, buddy? First time,
long time from the dirty burrough Who what's up?
Speaker 5 (54:28):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (54:29):
Go kitty cats man. That was an awesome game.
Speaker 14 (54:32):
Defense played great, insane.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
I loved it. I loved it. I don't care about
the stoops craft just whatever.
Speaker 4 (54:41):
We just beat.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Auburn, all right, there you go. I mean I love it.
This is what it is.
Speaker 15 (54:52):
Clay Ford's looking at me right now.
Speaker 10 (54:54):
Sorry, this is an awesome game.
Speaker 14 (54:57):
Bring on Tennessee Tech.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
We want tech. That's all I gotta say. Appreciate it. Thanks,
There you go. I think we said dirty Borough. He
met Owensborough. We would never do that in Middlesborough. We're
still celebrating our victory over Sayer last night.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Big victory. Pennington's still.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
Yeah. I mean that's probably Middlesborough's biggest victory since we
won the state title back in I don't know, ninety nine.
I think that or no one, No, it was not
not well whatever it was the year after our guys
with ninety seven. Fact, since ninety seven, I think that's
the biggest one. You don't seem excited about it. We
(55:43):
just beat all the all those little preppy kids from
Sayer on their private jets and their.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
Caviat Nobody cheated this game.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
Well, I mean they may have. We didn't.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
Yeah, we won. I'm glad. Yeah, that's what happens when
nobody cheats.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
Yeah, that's exactly right. They have a ch I mean listen,
they're uh there, watch out. Who knows they could be
playing in Kroger Field. Hey, thank you all very much.
I'm gonna go to bed and get ready to take
off and head towards Cincinnati in the morning for Bears
Bengals Cats in Texas are at one o'clock tomorrow, uh
(56:19):
cover zero tomorrow night. Still a lot of weekend to go,
and next Saturday, Kentucky and Florida under the lights with
a chance to keep the momentum rolling. Kentucky wins on
the planes ten to three against Auburn. We will see
you later. This has been the local Toilet Dealers KSR
post game show.
