Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealers postgame show.
I am Drew Franklin in downtown Lexington. It is after
midnight and we all just watch Kentucky lose a fourth
straight game to South Carolina, losing thirty five to ten
down in Columbia, an absolute embarrassing performance by the Wildcats
(00:20):
in a game they needed to win to get some
life back in the season. I'm here with Billy Rutligs. Billy,
I'm hosting this show for the first time. Lucky Me
couldn't get Eastern Michigan, couldn't get Toledo, matt Leafstown goes
to South Africa, assigns me South Carolina game. I thank you,
and you know what, that'll be fine? What could possibly
go wrong? Thirty five to ten could go wrong? And
(00:40):
I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna
want to talk about the future of the program. I
will say tonight's game started off all right. Scored early
sixty five yard drive on the opening drive. Seth McGowan
ran a twenty yard td in to go up seven
to zero. We're feeling good. Kat's got a little momentum.
We're dreaming dreams and it all went downhill from there.
Four turnovers in the second quarter, including back to back
(01:03):
defensive scores, a complete meltdown. Kentucky had three points in
three quarters after completely losing the wheels on everything in
that second quarter. Billy Relish starting the game, I actually
fumbled a little bit. Tennessee Mississippi State goes along. I
am struggling with the app. I completely missed that opening drive,
(01:24):
missed the McGowan touchdown. I log on just in time
to see South Carolina score. I should have just gone
to bed. Should not have seen what happened after that
point because it was completely ugly.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
You missed the only good part of the game. Drue,
It's good to see you. I'm sorry it's under these circumstances.
It's normally Ryan that gets the post game after a
bad loss, but your debut being another loss to South
Carolina is not the best place to start.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Not at all. I should have just gone to bed.
And speaking of putting something to bed, I'm sure a
lot of you all are gonna have thoughts on Mark
Stoops tonight. If Twitter is any indication or any of
the messages I'm getting or anything online on ks board,
it is not pleasant around Mark stoops after the Cats lose.
What is that? Fourteen out of sixteen SEC games? Now, Billy,
I think it's like thirteen out of five Power Foward games.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yikes, I know it's what is it seven straight conference
games now and one and eleven in their last twelve.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, I mean we could do this all night.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Ugh.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
He hadn't scored two offensive touchdowns in any of their
ten SEC games under Bush Hampden. Just an ugly night
in Cutter Bowley's first start. He did not look good.
Had the two interceptions in that second half. Melt down.
On that first one, Billy, he gets sacked by Dylan Stewart.
You fumble. You think you're just gonna take the big loss.
Pete cannot fall on the football. Not fall on the
(02:45):
football there, Pete reel it in, it hits his belly,
pops out to the side. Next thing you know, South
Carolina is going the other way for a touchdown. You
get the ball back and what do you know, a
tipped interception going the other way. That was night night.
Fourteen straight points from South Carolina. It was all downhill
from there.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Two touchdowns and forty five seconds for the game. Cocks
and actually four to complete turnovers in the second quarter
for Kentucky if you count the fumble at the end.
It was a disaster and you wanted to see Kentucky
respond right, Well, only ninety one yards after the first
two drives and in that game. So it's was not
Mark Stoops or the offense's best night tonight.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Well, we want to hear your comments on the game
eight five nine to Ato two two eight seven. I'm
guessing there's probably already people calling in Billy. We also
want to hear what you think about Mark Stoops and
what the future looks like there. What can Kentucky do.
We all know that he has the leverage in that
favorable contract he was given by Mitch Barnhardt. It's like
a top ten salary in football. He's owed what like
thirty eight million if you were to fire him any
(03:45):
times as the buyout, yeah, it's doing sixty days. I
don't know how you get that deal. But even if
you were to do it, what do you hand it
off to Brad White? But I'm sure a lot of
you all have thoughts on that. It was a big
disappointment tonight. He really needed to beat either Ole miss
two weeks ago or South carol to have a shot
at getting things back on track and getting back to
a bowl game this season. We all know what the
schedule looks like from here, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, then you
(04:09):
go to Auburn, maybe Florida is something but that point,
who knows. But tonight, even though it was on the road,
it was one of the games that you really thought
could be winnable to get things back on track.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. I mean, when
you look at the schedule ahead, this was the vulnerable
SEC team that you needed to take advantage of, possibly
steal one on the road. And it's the worst that
it's Shane Beemer celebrating. I mean, ever since Stoop's talked
about the dances and the sunglasses, it's not been a
good record against the game Cocks.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
You have the seven out of eight from twenty fourteen
to twenty twenty one or whatever, but now lost four straight.
I mean, if we can look at Vandy, we can
now say Kentucky is unequipped with the sixteenth in the conference. Yea,
Mississippi State looked good today, took Tennessee down to the wire,
Kentucky was rolling there for a while, but we have
absolutely fallen to the absolute bottom of the conference. Inexcusable,
(04:56):
can't win a conference game. Don't really have an SEC
capable quarter back right now. Bowley on the road didn't
have it. Some people there even mentioned that it's one point.
Bo Allen and Zach Calzatta were throwing it around. Never
really came to the game. But you're now two and two,
zero to two in the conference A. You got no QB.
The run game actually looked good tonight. If there's a
(05:17):
bright spot. We mentioned McGowan early on with that game.
He ended up with one hundred and twelve yards, two touchdowns.
He's averaged about six per carry. He has seven touchdowns
this season, Billy. That ties Benny Snell for the most
to start a season at this point. So he looked good.
But other than that, no help whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, and normally Brad White's defense has not been good
this year. They ranked sixteenth out of sixteenth in total
defense in the SEC this year, averaging or giving up
four hundred yards a game. I mean, it's just not
been Mark Stoops football this year or the last couple
of years.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
They got a big sack on Sellers that looked nice.
Other than that, he had about one hundred rushing yards,
including one play in the third quarter where it felt
like he broke cot tackles in the backfield, goes for
twenty yards in a first down. Sellers didn't throw a touchdown,
but eleven for fourteen, one hundred and fifty passing yards.
The one hundred rushing You know, he's one of the
best quarterbacks in college football. Hadn't had a lot of
(06:11):
help this season, but for the first time, South Carolina
scored three offensive touchdowns on Kentucky's defense. So you got
that going for him too. Hey, at least the punt
returner he didn't have a touchdown. You got that going
for you. There's another highlight.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Glad we can give him some momentum to build on.
It's just ridiculous. Where are you at now, Drew? I mean,
they showed no life in the second half. It's just demoralizing.
You want to see some progress being made, but it
seems like there was none.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
I picked South Carolina to win, but I thought Kentucky
would be being at the very end. I thought we'd
have another close game, you know, one of those as
luck it's said on the pregame show first to seventeen wins,
I did not have you know, thirty five to thirteen
or whatever up being just an absolute disappointment, and we
want to hear from you all all about it. I
know it's lighting up. Eight five nine to ato two
two eighty seven, it's after midnight. We'll let you talk
(06:56):
Billion out will keep giving our thoughts. We're in downtown
Lexington and out over these beautiful cities, from the beautiful
city from the eighth floor. Does this window open, Billy?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
It does?
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Okay, good, that's good because not in a great mood tonight.
But we want to hear from you all. We'll take
a quick break and get to the phone lines. Eight
five nine to two two eight seven. This is Drew
and Billy on the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealer's postgame
show after Kentucky's embarrassing loss to South Carolina. Welcome back
into the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealers postgame Show. Drew
Franklin and Billy Rutledge downtown Lexton after midnight after Kentucky
(07:28):
loses thirty five to ten to South Carolina in a
very disappointing outcome for Cutter Bowley's first career road start.
I mean, Billy, just how does he not fall on
the ball? How does Pete not just fall on it?
You punt and you're still in it? Completely change the game? Yeah,
it was right there. I don't know, just pick it up,
just lay there.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
He seems like he's doing a good job for the
most part, but that that was a big miss. Does
your opinion on Cutter change it all? Or is this
a tough place for a freshman to start?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I was hoping he would look better, obviously, but he
was also the offensive line didn't do any favors. What
was he sacked six times?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Six times, interceptions, two fumbles.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Pressured all night. I mean, he didn't look good, but
one of these interceptions was tipped. I'm not putting this
all of this game on him. It was just all
systems failure outside of McGowan looking pretty good. Uh, let's
just go and get the phone line and see what
some of our callers have to say. Who's up first?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Zaye is up first?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Zane? You're leading off? What do you got for us?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Hey, Drew, how are you tired.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
And disappointed in the Cats? But we're here having fun.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Yeah, man, I feel you. So I've just got a
couple of things. One, I've lost all.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Hope in this program.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
I don't I'm speechless about Stoops. I never thought it
would come to this. I love Stoops, He's done awesome things,
but we've got to We've got to fire him. He's
gotta go.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
Two Jagger Burton, it's.
Speaker 8 (08:57):
Awful, he's he he was why two sacks happened.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
And then Jordan love It. We have to have a
better safety than Jordan love It. And I'll hang up
and let you.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Talk about that, all right, Thank you, appreciate the call.
Not a good night for the two Kentucky boys. We've
seen those names playing for Kentucky for a long time.
Needed both of them to make a big jump this season.
Looked all right in the early games, but not good
tonight for either one of them. Jagger especially. He was
a big part of the offensive line problems as they
were just getting after Burton. I mean, South Carolina's got
(09:35):
a pretty good front, but they're banged up. Dylan Stewart's
a generational talent, but other than that, the line still
should have been much better than they were.
Speaker 9 (09:41):
Tonight.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
They just got absolutely shredded.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah, in South Carolina's line is banged up, so you
would hope Kentucky was able to take advantage of that
a little bit, but gave up thirty five points and
Lenora Sellers was able to do pretty much whatever he wanted.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
The stat about Kentucky not scoring more than two touchdowns
in any of their SEC games under Bushampton, it's pretty bad,
a little depressing. I mean, when we knew it was
gonna be low scoring, you had to you know, hold
South Carolina some three and outs, force some turnovers. You
didn't get that. But this offense just is not showing
any signs of life.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Well, there was a good play call on a was
it fourth down, third or fourth down early in the game.
Rodriguez goes for fifty three yards. But I mean, just
some questionable stuff. They did a double reverse for first down,
like let's just get two or three yards and make
it easier for our guys to get a third down.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
I thought I got a little reckless at the end
of the first half with the laterals. That's a little
risky at that point because at any moment could have
been another South Carolina non offensive touchdown. That was while
doing the first half. Who's up next, Let's go to Matthew. Matthew,
what's up, hey, fellas?
Speaker 4 (10:47):
I just want to I'm in Columbia right now, trying
to find an uber home from from the stadium, but
beyond disappointed in the play call that I saw tonight.
I mean, I don't why Bush Hampden the double reverse,
not running the ball enough. We had two turnovers tonight
(11:09):
that made absolutely zero sense. Took us out of the game,
took us out of the game. We had a chance
to actually like be competitive and win. When we were
up ten to seven, I thought, oh, there's there's zero
chance Kentucky's gonna fumble this, and sure enough, we have
a bad fumble and then we have a I mean
(11:32):
that pick six was awful too. I mean the old
analogy of if it hits you in the hands, you're
supposed to catch it.
Speaker 10 (11:38):
But it hit.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Kendrick gall in the hand. But obviously we know that
ball was not even catchable. It was just disappointing, to
say the least, because all of us have so much
faith in Kentucky. I mean, this football program, it can
go places, but it's it's not going where we need
it to go. That's all I got for you, fellas.
(12:00):
I appreciate your.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Time, We appreciate the call. Yeah, we've now brought up
that reverse a couple times. There's been some plays so
far the season that really angered a lot of fans.
You can go back to taking the safety against Toledo.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
The whatever in the end.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
So with Cutter that fake pitch on fourth down a
couple weeks ago, and then tonight you have a third
and five and you do that a little handoff to Gilmour.
You're in scoring position, ended up making the forty two
yard Phil goal. But it's like they were playing for
Phil goal and weren't even trying to score there when
you need to get aggressive. So another night of frustrating
play calling.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
You know, Corey Price does a great job, but after
losses there are some demoralizing stats that he can highlight,
and one of them was this is Kentucky's longest SEC
losing streak since September of twenty second of twenty twelve
to September thirteenth of twenty fourteen. We've literally gone back
to the beginning of the Stoops era with the amount
of games that they're losing in the SEC at this point.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
I remember sitting way at the top Team Patrick section,
I think two thirty two something like that, at the
top of Kroger Field of that Vandy game when we
knew it was over and the bleachers were completely empty.
This doesn't feel like that, but it's starting to feel
pretty close, and I think those bleachers might be pretty
empty next time Kentucky comes around, coming back home, and
then we go to Georgia next week. Got that, I
(13:12):
got that going for it coming out Georgia coming off
the Lost Billy. That's that's exciting.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
And then Texas, Oh yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's that's fun. Who's next on the phone line?
Speaker 2 (13:20):
E Money is next?
Speaker 10 (13:21):
Money?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Nice name?
Speaker 5 (13:23):
What's up?
Speaker 11 (13:26):
Hey, Drew Money? You know what, I'm not going to
see you here and talk.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
About how much money the crafts being on this offensive
line and how much money we spent on Fay six
six and fifty pounds camp pall on the ball. But
Kurk Bowie looks, he looks scared.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
He did. We appreciate the call. I thought he looked
comfortable when he came in, and kroger Field even said
that several times. How I'd even though he's the second year.
He looked to be a little more composed than Zach Calzada.
But the the rooster crows in the eighty thousand under
the lights at Williams. Brice got to him and many
others tonight.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Right, everybody's got a plan until they get punched in
the mouth or you get punched in the tailgate lot
after the game, like our pal Ryan Lemon. It felt
like Cutter got punched pretty early in that game and
really never recovered, which is strange because you know, we
heard all about Cutter making strides in training camp and
being comfortable in the offense. But that's a that's a
tough environment for the kid.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Mark Stoops didn't get punched, but he did trip over
a yardage marker before saw that, and in real time
I thought he got hit. I was worried about, you know,
some injury. But then they slow it down and he
actually tripped getting out of the way from getting hit,
but he bounced right back up.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
A bit of a stumble. McGowan launched a football at
a South Carolina fan right after the first touchdown. Did
you happen to see that?
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I did? I think the fan might have given the
shot the bird back. McGowan's way caught that on TV.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
There's a big fight over the ball too. I mean,
I guess Kentucky was trying to get their ball back
after McGowan chucked it at the GA, but I don't know.
Somebody's got to ask him what he was thinking. Kentucky
was trying to get the ball. Yeah, Kentucky was trying
to get their ball back, kind of like Louisville earlier today.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
If you saw that highlight, well, you know, touchdowns are
so hard to come by. When when you get one,
I guess you got to commemorate it. They might paint
that ball uptring it for who's up next?
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Pathew is a path you all right?
Speaker 1 (15:18):
That's what's up, gentlemen.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
I just can't help but feel hopeless and dejected for
our program right now.
Speaker 12 (15:28):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (15:28):
You know, look, I know SEC football is a different animal,
and I really hate making comparisons from you know, Kentucky
football to basketball, but it just seems like this football
regime has become so similar to the last few years
with cal uh, you know, Vince Marrow being the Roe
bitch or pain uh to stoops, and I just feel
so apathetic towards our program right now. I just want
(15:50):
to get your guys thoughts on where do you think
we can go? Obviously we know the financials. We cannot
fire Stoops, we can't afford that. Uh, where do we
just go from here? I'm going to hang up loosen
to your your response.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Think I appreciate the call. I agree with the basketball comparison.
Usually try not to do that, but it does have
that same feeling. Even this offseason where he kind of
went quiet, didn't want to make headlines. Remember cal was real,
G's moving silence like Lasagna. Remember that. Yeah, I remember,
I'm not doing the media this summer. We're so good.
I'm staying quiet. Kind of felt like we had a
(16:22):
little of that from Stoops this offseason.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
A headline.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Now the apathy's setting in. You're not winning games you
should win. The only difference is basketball, just by the
nature of the sport, you get the tournament where like
an Oakland can happen. You know, football you don't get
that clear this is it, but losing this many SEC
games is getting pretty close to an Oakland or a
Saint Peter's. He'll never have that exact you know, it
(16:46):
ends moment to As you know, fifteen seed basketball is
setting and it's not set up that way. But when
you can't win an SEC game, that's getting to be
just as bad.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, and I'm sure Stoops would love aerobic. I don't
know if you put Liam Cohen in that role, but
he's been trying to find an offense coordinator to stick
and Bush Hampton just doesn't seem to be the right guy.
But you know, what does Mitch do? This is the
all time winning his coach in Kentucky football history, the
thirty eight million dollar buyout. Doesn't seem like he's rushing
to get rid of the guy at this point, right.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Well, we know he's not quick to fire anyone. And
even he said this is a one year blip, it
is not a one year blip. We're all seeing that.
There are people on the scene that said Mitch didn't
look very happy over on the sideline tonight. I mean,
I can't imagine he would be happy. You know, Mitch,
Mitch gets into these games just as much as anyone,
but he does have a mess on his hands. Because
I think we can all agree there's not much hope
(17:35):
in the program. I mean, maybe Stoop surprises us somewhere.
But if we're all being honest, it does not look
like this season is going to end well whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah, and you mentioned apathy. Matts talked about that before.
It feels like people are going to start turning the
page to basketball.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Here pretty soon. What big Blue mattis? What two weeks ago? Yeah,
it's it's right around the corner. Jared Lorenzen used to
hate it when this would happen. He would say, people
would just flip the switch. I'm afraid that'll be coming up.
Let's get other call before we take a break. Yeah,
Jerry's next, Jerry, how about it?
Speaker 6 (18:06):
Oh?
Speaker 13 (18:06):
Yeah, I thank taking my college, but I think it's
time to move on from US troops. He's just uh,
he should never bought the office card that back and
then right now it's just in disarray. And I love
a touch football, but man, it's just time to move on.
And he's christ vampart about it is true. We're not
(18:28):
gonna win the SEC game. And that just kills me, man,
because you know, you got Vanderbilt doing what they're doing,
and right now we cannot you cannot get out of
our own way. I mean, seriously, I mean, I love
Carter baldy man. But Everydingery man, He's just not the answer.
I mean, I mean, God bless your sou But what
(18:49):
we go do? I mean, Drew, it's just tell me.
I mean we got to move on.
Speaker 14 (18:53):
I mean right now?
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Are waiting any longer? Are you doing it right now?
Speaker 13 (18:59):
Now?
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (18:59):
No, I think I think you should fire right now.
I think you should know right now. God bless so,
I think right now you gotta follow him like ol
Coma State did with Bundy. You gotta move on and
do why take the team over and next year may
be bringing in the du Terra, ain't whoever. But this
football team right now is just in dis ray. Do
(19:22):
you know where you said? Watch the same game.
Speaker 8 (19:25):
It's horrible, man.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
It is. I appreciate the call. I don't disagree. I
mean the numbers are bad. We could sit here and
read these ugly stats all night long. Culture hadn't gotten
much better. I mean, you've got a player of court
cases right now. Schedule's not getting any easier. Doesn't look
like you have a quarterback that's ready to win any
SEC games this year. But Louisville down a little bit today,
(19:48):
they came back one. They're undefeated, You're gonna go win
a Louisville end of the year in the Governor's Cup.
I mean, what do we do? We just count down
to Tennessee Tech in November? Is that the one we
circle on the calendar?
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I didn't think about it until Jerry. It's just said it.
They're not going to win an SEC game this year.
I mean, what's the best chance. I would say Vandy,
but their ranked Florida, Florida. But you got to keep
your team together to get to Florida. That's in November.
I mean it could, it could get a lot ugly
between I'm not four firing coaches mid season. I don't
(20:19):
think that accomplishes a lot. But I mean the way
Jerry put what game are they going to win in
the SEC after performing.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Like that, after not winning one last year?
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Well they beat on miss excuse me, yeah, home games.
But yeah, I mean, it's just I don't want to
put this loss on Cutter though, Like that's what I
was a little afraid of when it comes to throwing
a guy out there in a hostile environment. But he
did not look good by anything.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
He did not But it was never supposed to be
Cutter this season at all. You went and got Zach
Calroada so that Cutter could be next year. You know,
I'm not completely defending Cutter here, but he's not even
supposed to be in the spot because you went out
and got a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
That's supposed to be when you get year away. Anyway,
this is fun, Billy.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
I'm having a lot of fun tonight.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Let's take one more and we'll take another break here on.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Let's get another one here. We'll talk a few viral
to try to smile a little bit, even though it's
hard to smile right now.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Will is next?
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Will?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (21:06):
What's going on?
Speaker 9 (21:07):
Guys? You know, here's the thing. I mean, you know,
whether Cutter is supposed to be in that or not.
Let's let's be honest. Calzada is not any better. It's
it's gotta be all on Stoops and I try to
put myself in Mitch's shoes. I mean, he's got the
hardest decision to make here ever, because I know him
and Stoops or boys. But let's be honest. We could
talk all night long about all these terrible statistics that
(21:30):
are around Kentucky football and Stoops and something has got
to be done, because listen, you know, I'm friends with
a lot of Louisville fans and we are just the
complete laughing stock of football and nothing changes. You're after ear,
you know, stoops, we give him another chance, he says, Oh,
we got to get back to work. We gotta, we gotta,
you know, get back to work and practice all these things.
(21:52):
But nothing ever changes. And as a Kentucky fan, I
can speak to the whole fan base and I know
you guys as well. It is so old. Something has
to change.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Thanks, boys, all right, appreciate the call. An update on
the ball, I'm seeing online that Lenoris Sellers said that
McGowan hit his grandfather with the ball. Of all people
to hit, we're hitting Lenoris and Seller's grandfather.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
And I took that personally.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah, I'm seeing pictures they gave his grandmother the game
ball because we hit him with all the people in
the stadium. I don't feel like we should be hitting
people's grandparents.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Outscored thirty five to six after that play.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Huh, just added to the list. Well, we'll have more
fun like this. Talking about Kentucky's lost to South Carolina
thirty five to ten. It was an opportunity to get
a win.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Try to get some Jared, don't short don't short change him.
Thirty five thirteen.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Oh, I keep saying ten, yeah, whatever, thirty five thirteen.
That makes it much better. Uh, an opportunity you had
to get a win to get try to get back
on track. Try to head to a bowl game and
you completely lose it all in the second quarter with
the turnovers. Uh, we'll come back after this break. We
want to hear from you A five nine to two,
two eighty seven. It's Drew and Billy up late on
the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealer's Postgame Show. Right back,
(23:02):
Welcome back into the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealer's Postgame Show,
also known as Group Therapy for Big Blue Nation. As
we're all up late after Kentucky loses thirty five to thirteen,
I kept saying ten, Billy. That was rude of me
taking away three points from Kentucky. I apologized. I did
that a few times throughout the show, but it's late
and I'm just as upset as anyone else. But I
(23:22):
do apologize's got to get the final score right. That's
like the bare minimum of this job.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
No, I understand. I understand there wasn't a lot to
enjoy it about that game. I don't get to listen
to the TV broadcast, though. Did Tom Hart say anything
interesting or funny?
Speaker 1 (23:36):
You walked right into my next topic. First of all,
shout out to the kicker. We still have kickers and punters.
They had been another big game. That's another thing you mentioned.
We're going back to twenty twelve with that streak. Yeah,
we're also going back to Kentucky just being known for
good kicking, good pudding. That's kind of where we are with.
Everything else is a mess, but we can boom the ball.
Tom Hart. Yes, he at least kept us entertained. I
(23:56):
was trying to keep up with the references. I'd heard
there be a lot dialed up for this game, because
it had been a while since we've heard Tom Hart.
But right away I heard him say something about pump
and shop. Okay, shout out to Clark's. That was intentional.
He said Kentucky was up by three biggins. Love that
for our guy John. He said something about a safari
(24:17):
and seeing penguins. Assume that was related to Matt in
South Africa. There was getting sucker punched outside the stadium.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Comments, you've got the sucker punch.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
I mean, my man was on fire. And then not
to tell on him, but maybe he asked for any request.
Let's just say maybe that happened hypothetically, and I said,
my guy Manny used to always say you can't do
that after penalties. So there was a flag and I
heard it, you can't do that. So KSR listeners got
they got the full Tom Heart experience tonight, as the
(24:47):
game was just being absolutely miserable.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Otherwise, well, that's funny to hear. You know, broadcasters have
to flip that switch and a blowout and just kind
of grasp for notes. And Tom's notes were to text
Threw and ask maybe I.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Didn't say texting during the game. I said, if he
were to text you. Okay, they are the best, though
we have our Tom connection. I know Cole a little bit,
don't really know Jordan, but it just objectively leave aside
the KSR sinks. They call a good game. They somehow
they couldn't really polish this one up very well for me,
But typically I love having them on a call.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
I'll give you one funny thing while we're talking TV.
So the game had to start on ESPN News because
Tennessee and everything, and they switched it over. But if
you weren't paying attention, it just switched over to pillow
Fighting on ESPN News. And I happened to think that
was more competitive than the game that we saw in
South Carolina tonight.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
I'm glad you brought that up. I thought that was
my TV. I mentioned at the beginning of the show
that I missed the McGowan touchdown. I feel like I'm
pretty tech savvy, but it's like, here's your code, go
to ESPN dot com slash watch, and I'm throwing my
remote and I finally get it on and it did
out of nowhere. I'm looking at my computer and I'm
sitting there and my wife's like, did you change it
to pillow Fighting? And I look up and I'm like,
(25:57):
I've lost my mind. So that wasn't That was everybody
and everybody problem. Yeah, just add it to the list
of whatever the hell was going on early in the
game before it really fell apart. Maybe I should have
left it on professional and we should have left it
on it all right, let's get some more calls in.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Dale is up next?
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Yeah? What's up?
Speaker 7 (26:14):
Hey, Drew, I got a question for you at the end.
But me and you we're gonna fix Kentucky football in
ninety seconds.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
You ready, Okay.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
Let's do this.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
You got it all right?
Speaker 7 (26:25):
You can put the timer on, Billy, Let's roll all.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Right, right now, set a timer. I'm gonna interrupt you
in ninety here we go go.
Speaker 7 (26:31):
Number one, if I miss Barnhart, I don't let Mark
Soups get on that plane to fly back to Lexington.
You go get yourself a Hurtz rental car and you
drive back from Columbia to Lexington. You drive your ass back,
Mars Soups. Number two, make Brad White the interim coach.
If he does a good job, you hire him. If not,
(26:52):
guess who would love to coach in the SEC mister
John Gruden. I'm not a big Summer off fan, and
I'm not getting on that vand wagon, but let's give
Brad White a shot. Mark Soukes, your time is done.
And then as long as Brad White agrees to fire Bush,
Hampden is the OC. Hey, you already got Eddie Grin
on staff. He's been an approven offensive coordinator. How could
(27:16):
it get worse? Let Eddie Grin run the offense. You
know he did everything good with Lynn Bowden.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Right perfect, you got to figure it out.
Speaker 15 (27:24):
One thing.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
I got one thing.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
I got to ask you, Drew, how about Madisonville North
Hopkins six? And oh baby, can they finish out the
season undefeated? And I'll hang up and listen for.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
You'll answer, beautiful. That was exactly one minute. You had
thirty more seconds to fix UK football, but it sounds
like you've already thought that out. And thank you for
shouting out my Madisonville Maroons.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Billy.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Look, this is the first time I've smiled since since
I finally got the game on from the professional pillow
fighting earlier. So thank you for bringing a smile to
my face with that contribution to the show. Because the
Maroons are hot.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
He didn't smile during the Ryder Cup today.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Oh yes, I get to watch my own three Titans
tomorrow and then after that we get to watch my
wife's Dallas Cowboys. Might just got inside and start kicking
trees just to add to more pain.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
So his way to fix Kentucky football was to fire stoops,
make Brad White the intern, and make Eddie Grant offensive coordinator.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
I think he wants Brad White to fire Bush Hampton.
Let's put it all on Brad White. And then he
wants Eddie Grant.
Speaker 9 (28:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
I don't know he's thought about it. Let's get another
call in see if they have solutions about Joe and Bama.
Joe and Bama. Big win for Bama today. What's up, Joe?
Speaker 11 (28:32):
Yeah, Hey, Dreid, just a couple of things.
Speaker 13 (28:34):
Man.
Speaker 11 (28:35):
You know, living in Alabama for the last fifteen years,
there's a different kind of football when you watch it
on the multiview on YouTube. When you're watching Alabama Georgia
and you watching Kentucky South Carolina side by side. It
almost went minute for minutes for the game to halftime
to everything. That's a whole different kind of football. I
realized that we don't have the same players. I realize
(28:57):
that we are getting into the of apathy here. But
I think the last caller is right. If you want
to keep any attention on this football team for the
rest of this year, you've got to make a change now,
and it has to start with the offensive coordinator and
the head coach. I know there's people out there that
can coach differently. I just think that the coaching staff
(29:19):
now with the money that they're making, is not hungry.
They're kind of done. Everybody's rumored that Mark's going to
retire early. You know what, just let it happen. I
don't know about John Gruden. I think that's a pie
in the sky wish. But I know there's a coach
out there that can bring this team some fire like
Mark Stoops did fifteen years ago. But if you want
the fans to stick with it, now, what I saw
(29:42):
on the television has a change. It's regardless of the players,
it's regardless of the play calling. You cannot run sideline
to sideline and expect to go to the end zone.
You've got to go north and south and stop this
side to side, flip the ball backwards and try to
throw for a seven yard completion and then overthrow the
tight end. It just is monotonous. I had season tickets
(30:02):
when Bill Curry was there, and I thought then it
was gonna be better. But it has done nothing. So
you know, the football job is probably like the basketball job.
You got a ten year window. You need to get
it done and get out the way.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
All right.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
We appreciate, appreciate the call, Billy. I think people a
little fired up.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Well, I agree about the jonger, and that's probably that
seems to extreme, probably a big wish, But I mean,
teams like Indiana and Mississippi State should show you that
it can be rebuilt in a year with the transfer portal,
you can make a competitive team. It doesn't shouldn't take
a decade any longer. So that that just that's another
thing that works against stoops.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Here, And it's what you're thirteen and some of it's
just like operational, Like you're the longest tenured coach in
the conference. Why why can't we get a plan? Why
are we gotta out burning timeouts before punts and extra points?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (30:54):
This airport is fun. This is fun. Show? Is it
always like this? It's not always like this. I don't
see I don't get to hear the postgame show. Usually
I'm still at the press press box, so I'm not
hipped all these callers. These are like new people to me.
I know, there's like stories you hate kids or something.
Is that a thing?
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Well, you know, the kids aren't usually up this late,
so that's probably the good thing about these night games.
Speaker 9 (31:14):
True, But.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
We've heard this from the callers a little bit. This
year already kind of waiting for the word that's been
used tonight, apathy to set in when Kentucky plays tougher games.
But you know, South Carolina was winnable. This was a
team that had got blown out by Vandy, lost to Missouri,
not playing well, a bad defense, and Kentucky just wasn't
able to take advantage.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Thirty eight million. It's a lot of money or whatever
it is. Thirty eight ish?
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Is it really that much money?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
An it's like seventy five percent of whatever's left whatever
that exact number is doing sixty days. I mean he
was about to that's not in the atm ready, just
put your pen in and pull that out. You have
to come to some kind of grim at some point,
if it's truly he keeps going this direction, Stoop's gotta
consider his own legacy and maybe even he will sit
down at the table and work something.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
That was going to be my next question. I mean
Rich Brooks once said that Mark Stoops should have a
statue here at Kentucky. I mean, do you feel the
same way after the final four the last four years
of that.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
There is a YouTube video of me going around Crogerfield
talking about a Mark Stoop's statue four or five years ago.
So I mean, I can't say that's crazy. For rich Brooks,
I was going around asking people to how times change. Yeah,
let's get another call. Austin is next, Austin, what's up?
Speaker 6 (32:29):
Even gentlemen? First off, Billy comes to my first point
about Indiana, Mississippi State, Fannerbilt, all them an't I think
you can say that Mark Stoops is the only one
who can be a coach Kentucky and has success of
all these smaller schools like US are top twenty five
and doing pretty well number two. Kind Of the biggest
(32:50):
point I guess I wanting to make is I know
his buyouts. I think you know that's thirty eight million,
And for a while I used to agree that that's
probably not attainable. Over this week I got a email
to shout out much barn out for the emails, an
email that they asked for advice for a thirty four
million dollar stadium renovation coming up. So I guess my
(33:13):
question is, if his buyouts so unattainable, how do we
have the money for a thirty four million dollar renovation
for kind of small stuff like stadium atmosphere. I feel
like winning is the best way to stake atmosphere. So yeah,
that's my question. Can you guys kind of explain why
we have that money if we can't apport his buyout.
(33:34):
I'll hang up and listen.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
All right, I appreciate the call, Hanks host, guess the
answer there. There's a big difference in building new infrastructure
and adding experiences that will last several years and then
just handing a guy money to go away. Yeah, then
you still got a tough check to right, like, hey,
you haven't done a great job. Here's all the money
we have for you to just leave just the least.
That's a tough check to write.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Then you still got to pay for a new coach
and coaching staff, and then and then you don't have
the renovations to your stadium that you're hoping to make
an entertainment district out of over the next five to
ten years.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
So at some point there is an equation. I'm not
the one to do the math on it, but you
have to weigh in what you will lose if people
truly stop showing up like they're threatening to, and probably
will if this doesn't look better, especially at home. They're
lucky people have been engaged as they have been with
the home losing streak for what it takes to go
to a game anymore. I think the crowds have been
(34:28):
pretty good this season so far. I know it's been
two non conference games and just all miss but I
you know, if you go down to Georgia and get well,
next week gets pretty ugly after that. I wonder what
the CROWDI look like. We know it'll mostly be burnt
orange and orange for the Tennessee and Texas games.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
And the season ticket holders were already paying more for
less home games and fewer tailgating spots and just not
good timing with all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
With the year ahead, got to consider what you'll lose.
Let's get another call in justin justin thanks for calling in.
Speaker 12 (34:59):
Hey, thank you guys taking my call. I appreciate it.
And I was actually at the game tonight, and you know, really,
the two points that I I just want to make
is like, you know, I'm I'm super appreciative of you
know what Suits has done here. And yeah, I don't
know if you fire a mid season I don't think
that's great just with a huge buyout, but you know,
I think it's time to move on at the end
(35:20):
of the season, and you know, again like the guy
that gets two ten win seasons here like hasn't been done.
You know, Like like Drew said at the beginning of
the show, like I was in the empty bleachers that
oh oh forty lost to Vanderbilt whatever it was thirteen
fourteen years ago, you know. And the and the second
point I want to make is like, you know, at
(35:42):
the game tonight, like I feel like it's pretty tone
deaf for the you know, for UK Athletics to send
out that survey to ticket season season ticket holders is like, hey,
like what can we do like entertainment district and all this,
like restaurants and like like Colombia in in Columbia tonight,
like there's eighty five ninety thousand fans for a team
(36:02):
that's zero and two in the SEC and they're going nuts,
you know, for this for their football team, and like
students are around the Lower Bowl and like it's an
unreal atmosphere. So like, you know, like it would be
great to have Kroger Field like that, but I just
I don't know, like I don't know if we'll ever
get to that point. So you know, just really frustrated
and again appreciative what Stups has done, but you know,
(36:25):
at the end of the year, I think it's time
to move on. But yeah, it's just it's gonna be
a tough bill.
Speaker 14 (36:31):
This whole all year.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Not that it matters, but uh, how did How was
the Kentucky crowd tonight? Did we have a decent showing
for that debacle? Yeah?
Speaker 12 (36:40):
No, yeah, you know after the first quarter, like ours
section was buzzing, you know, like that we were right
behind the band and like I'd look up and it
felt like the whole like section or two or three
sections that we were around, was like full of Kentucky blue.
And that's that was crazy. Like we go up ten
to seven at the end of the first quarter and
like we're running the ball really well. That was everybody
(37:01):
was like it was feeling really good. And then second
quarter happens, and you know, it feels like for some reason,
we felt like Cutter needed to do like some sort
of air raid type thing instead of just trying to
ground and pound, you know, like what Eddie Grant might
have done or something.
Speaker 10 (37:15):
You know.
Speaker 12 (37:16):
But I you know, I thought the crowd was for
UK at least I thought there was a ton of
buzz around and optimism and that lasted fifteen minutes, you know,
and second quarter happened and it just kind of went
downhill from there. And so, you know, I'm not frustrated
with the you know, student athletes or cutter or anything
like that, like you guys have mentioned, but I don't
know why we didn't just try to keep running the ball,
(37:38):
you know, And I thought we could have kept doing
that until at least I don't know, the third fourth quarter,
because we looked really impressive on that first drive, second drive,
you know, But yeah, I think it's it's you know,
it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
All right, Well, we appreciate the call. Uh, glad you survived, Williams. Bryce.
Aside from the from the game, haven't heard any reports
of any sucker punching or anything down there, Billy. So far,
so good on that. But the night is young. I
mentioned missing the first drive that when we look so good, Yeah,
because I was fighting with my TV trying to put
in that dang code to make you use your phone
for you know, the QR on the TV. It was
(38:14):
a whole thing, and then you end up watching the
pillow fighting. As we've discussed. So I text Nick Roush,
who's down there, and I was like, hey, saw we scored,
but I completely missed everything, and he just sends back
in like all caps Kentucky ran it all over their faces.
So I get excited, like maybe we have something. Then
that second quarter four turnovers in one quarter, that's impressive work.
It is you gotta really want it to turn it
(38:35):
over four times in one court.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
It is. You're right, But let's take that second quarter
completely away. Kentucky still loses this game fourteen to thirteen,
I believe. So all that's made about the momentum and
what happened in the second quarter, Kentucky still got beat
in the rest of the game. And if you were
looking for any response when they came out of the halftime,
they what do they do?
Speaker 1 (38:56):
They go, Actually they didn't. South Carolina didn't score in
the third quarter, had a little defense show up there.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
I'm glad they showed up, uh because we needed a
more uh, especially in that first half. But yeah, they
go like punt, they go eleven yards and kick a
field goal because they were able to get that that
fake punt didn't convert, and then they was like immediately
three and out again, So not what you want to see.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Did they even throw to Josh Caattis at all? I
was expecting a big game out of him. See I
make that game day graphic that goes up in the morning,
so I pick who the player is going to be.
I put Cattis on there, thinking big Catus game didn't
seem much. Oh, I think Willie led the team in
receiving two catches, had five catches.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
That's because three of them were jet sweeps. Yes, that's
what we do to get it.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
And even on the big game to Rodriguez, that was
the let's just laddle it around and get goofy before halftime. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Yeah. And I feel bad for a guy like Jamory Macklin, right,
somebody that was kind of broke out at the end
of last year after we wanted or we expected a
lot more from him, and then maybe he comes into
this year thinking that that's more coming and it's more
of the same.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
It probably wouldn't matter, but he should have a touchdown.
He got open, he broke free, and Bully just missed
him by about a yard overthrew him there late, but
not that that would have mattered in the thirty five
to thirteen finished, not ten, but we'll take a break.
We went here for more of you eight five, nine
to two to eighty seven, got some people on hold.
We want to get your thoughts on the game and
(40:21):
what's next for Kentucky. This is Drew and Billy on
the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealers Postgame Show. All right,
welcome back, Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealers Postgame Show. One
last segment here Drew Franklin filling in for Matt Jones
while he's off riding Zebras and playing Jamanji down there
in South Africa. Ryan Lemon what, he's probably asleep at
(40:41):
t one am? Right, So they got me hosting the show, Billy?
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Yeah, what are we doing after this?
Speaker 6 (40:45):
Drew?
Speaker 2 (40:45):
Are we hitting a couple of bars?
Speaker 1 (40:47):
No to go, I'm going to bed. I'm worn out,
absolutely worn out, especially after that damn game. If they
had maybe one might have seen what Downtown has in
store late. But no, straight to bed after this for me.
But we have more calls to get to, more dis
appointed fans to hear from, so let's just get right
to it.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Yeah, let's go to Ethan.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Ethan, what's up?
Speaker 10 (41:06):
Oh, Yeah, guys, I'm driving back right now from Columbia,
heading back to Corbin, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (41:14):
I'm pretty disappointed to say so myself. If I'm being
real here, Cunner Bowie could have had full interceptions if
they would have talked to two that they dropped. He
had two fumbles. Uh. Bush Endon couldn't coach my high
school team. Mark Stoops needs fired. Our receivers can't get
(41:36):
open even if I was guarding them. That mcgallan is
the only player on our teams that's any good at all.
Our kicker's pretty good. Other than that, that's about it.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Yeah, we appreciate the call.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Other than all that, Billy not too bad. Other than
all that.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
And Eric Wilford just got another raise.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Don't tease people. Don't believe it be safe heading back
to Corbyn. It's a late drive. Appreciate you calling in.
Who's up next?
Speaker 2 (42:05):
Jerry is next?
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Another Jerry?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Another Jerry Poppy, Let's just have it all.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Jerry's what's up second?
Speaker 9 (42:10):
Jerry?
Speaker 14 (42:11):
Hey, Hey Jarry. You know Matt was giving me crap
about being negative. That's because I saw this coming like
a freight draink you do when you look at that roster.
You're bringing back the same offensive coaches that had all
that count last year couldn't coach him, and now you're
expecting a different result. You bring in an offensive line
coach that led the conference in facts at al a
(42:33):
Freakin'bama and you're surprised that they can't pass block.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
Come on, you called it, Joe.
Speaker 14 (42:40):
Something changed this program. Something changed this program about between
the between the pony up and the text A and
M thing, and then when Lin Cohen left, something changed.
And then and the final straw was Ben's leaving. Now
we're not recruiting Ohio and keeping the good kids in
Kentucky anymore. We're doing some other freaking thing that Wolford
wants to do. And it You know, so, I haven't
(43:03):
seening that depressing on offense since lauz Lack and Bill
Curry had Tim Couch run the option.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
How many more wins?
Speaker 14 (43:12):
I don't know what to do.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
How many more wins the rest of the season one.
I'm guessing you're going they might.
Speaker 14 (43:19):
I'll tell you what the Florida game is going to
come down to, basically, two lame duck coaches in which
team wants to play harder yep, but I only see
one more win, and that being that whereever threat to
East Tennessee State. Those I meant at.
Speaker 12 (43:36):
This point, hell like that.
Speaker 14 (43:38):
I said, let eighty Grand run the offense. Let Drake
Jackson or bunch of Stallings coach the offensive line. They
can do any worse.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
That's right. Well, we appreciate the call. We knew Jerry
be worked up. Also, I think didn't Drake Jackson like
Rhode Island or something?
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Is he?
Speaker 1 (43:55):
I mean he?
Speaker 4 (43:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (43:56):
I think he's the he's the coach at Rhode Island.
Maybe he could couple plays from Rhde Island. Couldn't be
much worse. On the phone, shout out Drake Jackson though
he's back back when they were rolling with the big
Blue Wall. Miss those days.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Yeah, and shout out to guys that are still in
the league. I think Landon Young's doing things with the
Saints name anymore.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Yeah, there you go. Well, who's up next?
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Cody's next?
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Cody?
Speaker 2 (44:21):
What's up?
Speaker 10 (44:22):
Hey?
Speaker 7 (44:23):
Drew?
Speaker 5 (44:23):
A long time since we talked, Man, Sorry about the
many news. That was terrible when I heard it last week.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Man, Thank you, we lost a good one.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Uh. I mean, look, I've been on this train for
a while, but like I just realized, its a good metaphor.
We're on the Titanic. We're we're we're going down with
the ship. And you know when the iceberg was It
wasn't today, It wasn't. It wasn't last week. It wasn't
the louisval game last year. It was the Texas ay,
it was the Louisle game in twenty three where the
(44:54):
Texas A and m Renigg happened. This thing was over
after that. It's over. It's been over.
Speaker 10 (45:00):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
The timeline certainly backs you up there. There's no argument
against your point.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Still playing.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
Yeah, we appreciate the call, but ope, so having yeah
we do, sorry, carry on, Yeah, no.
Speaker 5 (45:12):
I mean it's I mean today, I mean, who looks
worse kick Bradley or Marshtuits today.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Oh, Keith, don't make me think about the Ryder Cup too.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
He throughout Morikala in English twice.
Speaker 5 (45:27):
Number one out of one. Yeah, a golf analytic bearing.
He did it twice one of those days. But I
feel him, honestly, it's something more comfortable with him calling
an offense at bush Andon.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Well, I appreciate the call. It's certainly a bad day
for golf fans and Kentucky fans. And I don't like
the Titanic metaphor, but you're not wrong. And I guess, Billy,
are are me and you the band that's still playing
as it's going down? You got your violin over there?
I guess are we those guys?
Speaker 2 (45:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Are we jumping off and trying to share a door?
Like Jack Rose out there as this goes down? Which
whatich're gonna do? Which are we?
Speaker 2 (46:02):
The women and children need to be getting on the lifeboat?
All right, right now, as long.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
As you're not painting me like one of your French girls.
Who's up next? We got two more? Two more?
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Casey is next?
Speaker 1 (46:10):
Casey? What's up?
Speaker 4 (46:13):
Hey fellers?
Speaker 5 (46:14):
Good afternoon, my case.
Speaker 13 (46:18):
Hey.
Speaker 15 (46:18):
So would you guys say I'm a big fan of
Kentucky sports.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
I think that's fair.
Speaker 15 (46:25):
Okay, Well, can I tell you what I did tonight?
I went to a concert because I just saw this
coming from a mile away. And I was lucky because
at the concert I could actually see a TV and
watch the whole. I don't know if I would call
it lucky getting to watch all that, but just it
was ten to seven, I look up and all of
(46:46):
a sudden, it's twenty eight ten. I just don't even
know like how it went. It goes so bad so fast,
and so I'm worried. The reason I mentioned the concert,
I'm worried about the apathy because if I consider myself
a pretty big fan, if I'm skipping watching games to
go to a concert, whatever is everybody else going to
(47:08):
be doing about week ten and week eleven when that's here?
And so I think suits has to go. I don't
know if at the end of the season or it's
to wait to the end. But this is just really bad.
But and I just dread the Louisville game already so much.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
But what concerts?
Speaker 15 (47:24):
I saw Haley Winters, Okay, up and coming, she said
the Burl She's awesome.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
All right, that sounds fun. I appreciate the call.
Speaker 15 (47:32):
Casey one is I touch a joke. If everybody around
you think, and you're the middle person, you're probably the
one that sinks. And I just feel like, soops is
the one.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
That got to go.
Speaker 15 (47:43):
So I hope you guys have a great night. I
think it's time see you guys soon.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
All right, did not expect that neither.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
She's trying to say bye Feiler, get him out of here,
and games for concerts. I wish I'd skip the game
for concerts. Think a lot of us we got more.
Is it gonna be a good one, don't don't give
me a bad one. It's my first time hosting. It's
been I want to say, it's been fun. It's been
something I've been here. It's been good seeing you, Billy.
It's been an honor to have the opportunity. I apologize
everyone that I sound like my dog just died, but
(48:13):
I kind of feel that way. Just very disappointing the cat.
It's very somber tonight, and it's one am.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
Well, the real problem would be if you were super enthusiastic.
That's true. So I think you're measured and with the
right response here. But let's try to end it on
a good one. If not, maybe we'll open back up
the funds. Phil, Is that Phil?
Speaker 1 (48:30):
Take us home?
Speaker 9 (48:32):
All right?
Speaker 7 (48:33):
Uh?
Speaker 16 (48:34):
Well, yeah, you just give me tons of pressure.
Speaker 1 (48:36):
There no pressure. It's not good.
Speaker 16 (48:40):
I did win money tonight, unfortunately, so I moved the
line to South Carolina minus nine and a half because
you know, I just knew what was coming. But my
huge hit was there was a winning by margin. Is
it South Carolina to win by between nineteen and twenty four?
(49:04):
So we won by twenty two. So I hit that
and that was huge. That's plus eight point fifty. Yeah again,
obviously I'm happy about that. Yeah, obviously, I mean, but
you know, I am a UK fan, Okay, so I
want us to win games. I feel like I am
the only fan that would prefer us to be a
(49:29):
football school then a basketball school.
Speaker 6 (49:32):
I want to win in football.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
You're probably not allowed in that football. Did your big
bet just I don't want to get into your personal life,
but did it pay out anywhere near? Like forty million?
Is anywhere close anywhere in the ballpark? Get it within
sixty days?
Speaker 10 (49:48):
No?
Speaker 9 (49:49):
Noo?
Speaker 16 (49:50):
Yeah, I did actually send the tweet to somebody like.
Speaker 5 (49:57):
What they take venmo thirty eight million?
Speaker 16 (50:00):
We'll figure that one out with some money around.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Congratulations on your big win tonight. We appreciate the call.
Maybe maybe get a little sleep there. I will rest
up on that.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
One margin of victory though. That's a big hit margin victory.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
That's a big hit. I had seth McGowan over seventy
yards and Kendrick laover twenty yards. So I got a
couple hits. Everybody loves hearing about bets.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Guys took the over on every single prop on the
pregame show today.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Yeah, all right, we did well.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
Kassar Parley hit the Parlay hit today.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Yeah, we've hit enough. Kassar Parlays already. We can go
the rest of the year. It's all house money, already
made enough. But Mario's both of his picks hit. Unfortunately, Yeah,
both Mario Parlay's hit. But unfortunately it's hard to smile
over at Kassar Parlay. When Kentucky goes down to South
Carolina needing a win, needed to beat Old Miss or
South Carolina to have hopes before it just turns into
an absolute gauntlet next week. But they came up short,
(50:52):
went up big early with an early touchdown, but then
South Carolina took it the rest of the way, especially
in that second quarter with four turnover by the Cats,
two of which went back for touchdowns on back to
back plays, beginning with Pete just not falling on the ball,
hold on to it, Pete. But that was the story
all downhill from there. South Carolina's now one four straight
over Kentucky and the road is looking dark ahead. Guess
(51:15):
next we're heading to Georgia, But for now we'll sign
off from here on the Central Kentucky Select Toyota Dealers
postgame Show. Billy and I, we had fun. We wish
we had had a lot more fun with a win,
but instead we're all even disappointed with lots of questions
to answer. It's just a sad night. Cats lose. Thank you, Billy,
Thank you all for tuning in. Sleep Tight
