Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It is the local Tony Dealers KSR postgame show. It
is late at night and we are here in Windsor, Colorado,
after the Kentucky Wildcats lose seventy to sixty six at
Clemson in a disappointing performance. Aight five to nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We got our full
house here. We got Drew, we got Ryan, we got Shannon,

(00:23):
we got Max. I'll give you a quick two or
three minute rundown then leave these guys talk Aight five
nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
We watched the game in Fort Collins, had a big
crowd of Kentucky fans come, So thank you to the
folks who came. Probably forty some people come to a
town in the middle of Colorado to watch a game
with us. So that was a lot of fun. The
game itself, Kentucky. I think you know, I said before
the game that I thought, if Kentucky won tonight, the

(00:52):
difference between me and a great team and a very good.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Team is winning games like this.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
And I think, you know, after beating Duke and after
having kind of rolled through the bad teams and then
losing this game. I think Kentucky is more in the
line of very good than great. Now, you could still
do really good things with a very good team, but
probably more like a ranked eighth to twelve thirteenth ranked team.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
A couple of things that stood out.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
One for the first game really that we've seen this year,
big gap between the starters and the reserves. Butler was
in foul trouble in the first half. Mark Pope says
maybe he thinks he might have messed up and coached
him into foul trouble. Basically mean he maybe he should
have played him more in the first half, and then
he got hurt in the second half, and there was
just a huge drop off between Butler and Kerk Crisa.

(01:42):
Butler was plus seventeen on the game. Kerk Crisa was
minus twenty one on plus minus ouch. That is a
huge difference. Now, that doesn't mean if Butler plays you win,
but I think you have a much better shot. Kerr
was really bad tonight on both ends. Got just worked
on defense and on offense didn't really add much, So
I think there was a big drop off there. There

(02:05):
was also a big drop off between Amari Williams and
who I don't think played particularly well, but did add
some points at the end. But then Garrison was actually
minus twenty tonight, so you had one guy minus twenty one,
one guy minus twenty.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
That's not good.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
So and those were the only two players, by the way,
on the Kentucky roster, Oway and Butler, Oway and Jackson,
who played essentially the whole game, were like minus one.
So really, if you look at the plus minus, Mari
was plus sixteen, Butler was plus seventeen, Garrison was minus twenty.
Creasa was minus twenty one. I mean, if you just

(02:43):
look at the plus minus, and there's more to it
than that, that's the difference in the game is when
you had to go to those other two guys, it
made a big difference. Kentucky still had their chances, though
Oway had three open threes in the last two minutes.
He hits one of them, it's a different game, but
he misses all three. He was the leading scorer, but

(03:04):
still missed those shots that hurt. You got crushed on
the glass in the first half, better in the second half,
but was minus ten on the glass in the first
half plus ten in the second half. I think Kentucky
lost the game in the first half. They were kind
of digging out of a hole the entirety of the
second half and just couldn't quite get out of it.
Led a couple times by one, but just you know,

(03:26):
if the game's tied at halftime, they probably win. So
I think the first half, the foul trouble, the getting
out rebounded, it killed him. And then the last thing
I would say is my worry on the entire season
has always been the same thing. Do you have a
guy that can go get a bucket when you need one,
when you really need a basket?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Do you have it?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
And I don't think Kentucky as of yet, has shown
that they do. Against Duke Andrew Carr made a couple
of big plays. But even tonight, I mean, we hung
in there. But I want you to think three of
our last five baskets were back to the basket little
hook shots by Mary Williams.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
They went in.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So I'm not I'm glad, I'm happy, but that's like
that can't be your offense, uh to win games at
the end. So some concerning things with that said, it's
one loss, it's on the road, Clemson's probably a tournament team.
It's not the biggest deal in the world, and if
you beat Gonzaga Saturday, it's not a deal at all,
to be honest, honest with you, that's my take.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Let's go around the room.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Drew, what do you think, Amar Williams. He got a
few buckets there at the end. But it's my guy,
still worried he's calling his.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Own number a little too much.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
He does so many good things, but sometimes I think
he thinks he's John Wall and it's his time to
go on with one arm.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
You know.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
He and and Kerk Krisa were a little disappointed. Kr especially.
I think he went oh for four from three.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Were you surprised how bad he was? He was? He
was bad.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I have if we can delete the Instagram graphic where
he was my MVP pick.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
I'd appreciate it. I thought, yeah, I thought he'd play well. Road.
Not a good night for him.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I was disappointing those two guys, and then just as
a team, they didn't shoot well from three, which has
now happened more times than we thought we'd see so.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Far in the year.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I think something yeah, the last three games, or something
like twenty three of eighty two or something.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
But the thing that shocks me the most is free
throws sixty one percent tonight, I think, And it's not
the first time they've had a bad free throw night.
I just thought, with a team of shooters, this free
throw is gonna be a problem. But at some point
we need to worry. Is it's gonna be an ongoing
issue because you know, you lose by four, but you
went whatever, eleven of eighteen from the free throw line.

(05:37):
I mean that's a that's a big issue.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
There six of I think six of thirteen in the
first half. Yeah, it was a very physical game. And
that's now three games Kentucky's played that's physical, and they've.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Been our three. I don't say worst performances. We beat Duke,
but the three hardest offensive performances are the games where
teams have play fis think we're gonna see that all year.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
From the teams.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
They're gonna be SEC teams that want to just fight.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Well, let's remember, I mean the SEC went nine and
one tonight against the ACC. We were the one. So
then that's not fun.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Ryan.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
We said that during the game tonight and I said,
this is the way teams are gonna play Kentucky. The
play physical, big guys did not play very well. All
three of them did not play very well.

Speaker 7 (06:19):
Car Williams.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Car wasn't good either.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
No, he wasn't.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
No, he wasn't.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
I'm really, honestly am not disappointed they lost. I think
we all kind of thought they might lose, and it's
not that big a deal that they did lose a
true road game.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
But I am.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Disappointed in offensive execution. If I think for the first
time we saw their offense not really being sync.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Well, I don't think the offense was really in sync
at the end of the Duke game either. It's just
Car made a couple of big plays. Yeah, those and ones.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
I mean, I.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Think the offense when it gets up and down, man,
I'll take them against anybody, But in the half court.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
It's it's one of those dudes.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Butler was the guy who got to the rim the
easiest tonight, and the other two guys. Jackson did a
little bit, but then he wasn't able to finish, and
then o Way was just he scored seventeen but was
just kind of off.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Yeah, it was good to see Jackson Robinson kind of
step up in a big game. You know, he hadn't
seen that yet. So I was happy with him. But yeah,
it's something about the offense.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Just Kentucky shooting twenty seven percent from three in the
last three games.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
It's gonna be harder than to win this year. If
that doesn't improve.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
Clemson just lowed down Kentucky's offense, kind of throw him
out of rhythm. I didn't feel like Kentucky's offense was
ever really in sync. You know the thing again going
back to a Mario Williams dribbling too much. I mean,
a couple of shots he did knock down, but that's
not what you want to see in your offense. Your
strength is shooting. Even on nights that you're struggling, you
still I feel like I got to keep jacking them up.
You don't want to abandon the three. And I kind

(07:45):
of feel like they did a little bit towards the
end of the game, and I think that that maybe
led to why they lost.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (07:53):
I don't know if I was repeating what had Dane
said him many previous and postgame shows, but I did
allude to the fact that the two most important players
of Butler and Williams, and that was the plus minus
that worked out tonight. I think Butler gets to the rim, great,
but he can't be our only offense because he's so
small in there that he gets blocked. And then it's like,
all right, the other two ways that you can get

(08:15):
easy points or Murray Williams honestly throwing it inside when he.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Hits the ball in the paint, I'm okay, yes, when
he gets it outside of.

Speaker 9 (08:25):
But but if we can throw it into him, that's
a way that we can create buckets because he's big and.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
They scored three.

Speaker 9 (08:32):
The other way that I think that wasn't great tonight
is like, if we're going to be a three point
shooting team, you'd like to see a little bit more movement.

Speaker 10 (08:39):
Like there wasn't a whole lot of movement.

Speaker 9 (08:40):
Of like guys coming off screens, guys running baseline, Like
there was just kind of little bit of just standing
still and just seeing if something could.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Be Those all way shots came off of movement. He
missed them, but they came off of movement. But there
were a lot of possessions, you're right. I mean the possession.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Before the two way threes back to back.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
That possess before was one of the worst possessions. It
was a huge possession of the game. I think we
were down two maybe, and uh Amari Williams just dribbled
it for like twenty two seconds. They called then they
called time out, and when we came out of the
time out, Butler just shot a contested three and was blocked.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
That was a really awful possession and an important possession.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Definitely, that was disappointing. Uh thea threes, Butler made a
great offensive rebound to get him a second look.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
And then in the past and the other one that
was Robinson.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Yeah, yeah, both times those were such good looks. But
it just wasn't falling tonight. And we knew when Mark
Pope got hired. How many times you heard Live by
the three, Died by the three.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
It just wasn't going in tonight.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
This was a die by the three night and the
free throw line a few other things, but they had
they had opportunities to make a shot at the end,
it didn't go in.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Are you worried about the depth thing?

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Ryan, Like, like, we came into this going, Okay, they're
gonna have nine guys, Chandler's maybe the tenth. They can
get guys in and out. I mean, I felt like,
first of all, he didn't play Bray a lot down
the stretch, which was odd to me. But I feel
like there was a huge drop off between the starting five.
I don't know, well, I don't know Braya. That was

(10:12):
kind of weird, But when they went to that next
group of Almanor, Cresa and Garrison, I just felt like
it was a big drop.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
I think the first time all year I felt that
it was just especially in Kirk Crisa when he came
in the offense just didn't run very smoothly at all. Bria,
I don't know what. He only had three points, he
wasn't looking pret shot and maybe he didn't play.

Speaker 8 (10:35):
He didn't play the last ten minutes of the game,
one of two from threes.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I mean, I maybe would have liked to have seen
some of those creas A minutes go to him. I mean,
I guess you'd had to have Robinson run the point
or something, but like I would Crisa, you know, I
love the kid and they'll be good moments with him.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
But he was awful.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
I mean most of Clemson's points, if you go back
and look at those plays she had it. Most of
Limpson's points were picking on Creasey either just beat him
off the dribble or beat him and then a guy
would double and then.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Hitting that guy would hit the shot, or they put
him in a pick and roll. I mean he just
got abut.

Speaker 8 (11:09):
Yeah, I mean, I don't think Kirk crease is gonna
be a guy that you're gonna look to for offense,
but a guy that maybe's gonna come in and bring
the energy level up, you know.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
And I felt like you're right.

Speaker 8 (11:17):
They did pick on him tonight and it was not
a good, good game and all for him.

Speaker 9 (11:21):
Yeah, I mean him on Car. I mean they pick
on Car a lot. And that's one of the things
that Williams again offers you is defense, but then also rebounding.
I mean we got destroyed in rebounding when he's not
in there.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
When he's not in the other dude, the dude that
looked like first of all, like that looked like me.
Those are you on? It does not look first of all,
I wish.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
Sure you look like contests. He would place.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
The place podium. He would not be podium.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah, he's got his hairs curly.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
It's long. I haven't had long hearer since I was
like fifteen. You know you.

Speaker 7 (12:00):
He doesn't look like you.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (12:02):
He looks more like John c Riley exactly. I don't
want to step brothers the guy.

Speaker 8 (12:07):
I don't look like John c I know he looks
like a young John c Riley.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
You were supposed to disagree.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
I do disagree. I did like he went one for
eighty three. I wanted him to shoot the ball, like
we should have just let him keep foul.

Speaker 6 (12:19):
That was definitely the scounter. I report, we're gonna let
that goo.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
I'd forgotten about him, but I remember in the NCAA
tournament watching him and thinking he's not good. But yet
he has fifteen points and fifteen rebounds.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
How is that possible? I mean he shine for twenty.
He was four for twenty twenty rebounds.

Speaker 7 (12:40):
Yeah, I mean, like, how does that happen?

Speaker 1 (12:42):
And he can't jump? How does he get those rebounds?

Speaker 5 (12:44):
First he goes over the back.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
I'm not we lost, we should have lost, But you
are kidding me if you're telling me that dude had
zero fouls.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
That's true.

Speaker 7 (12:54):
He went over the back at least three.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I mean, you are kidding me if you're saying he
had zero fouls, because he he just throws himself into everybody,
which is.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Which he was giving clash Peters.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
I mean he he literally had twenty you're telling me
a guy can have twenty rebounds and no fouls.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Come on, I like that. He had eight offensive rebounds.
How many of those were hites? His own miss and
then him but he would.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Go over everyone's back. They never would call it because
he didn't jump high enough. But like, I'm not, I'm
not any way saying that's why we lost. But there's
no way a dude that plays the way he does
has zero fouls.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Max, Come on, I agree.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
I mean the difference was though unfortunately he got a
little rebounds, and then the difference for them compared to
us was they had the forty five year old that
could get a few buckets himself, and then the.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Point god, who can get a few? That guy I wanted.
I need to see his Yeah, the Russian guys at
least thirty.

Speaker 10 (13:52):
Five and number eleven is sex exactly.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
He looks like he'd been in a wind tunnel to
scull it.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, he does sculet like. I mean that dude.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
They are an example of the COVID year. Stuff need
to go away.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Let's go back to traditional seniors. You get four years.

Speaker 10 (14:10):
I mean, come on, that still be going off polio years.
That's how they were.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Oh well to a twenty to eighty seven. That was good.
All right.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
If you're up this late, you're probably either coming home
from the game or you just want like the top basketball.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
So we'll open up the phones.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
We're gonna be here, probably a little bit shorter than
most further postgame shows because we're gonna be on the
air in eight hours doing another one. So we'll take
a break and be right back. It's a local toy
dealers ks our post game one twenty five in the
morning and a loss and loaded phone lines. I mean,

(14:55):
I do want to say it's worth noting with this
fan base. I mean, they were forty people in Fort
Collins today.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
On very little notice.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Notice.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
There were people that drove from Denver, from Boulder, from fail.
One guy drove from Wyoming, all to come watch the game.
Uh in in Fort Collins.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
That was awesome. There was c a t chance in
Fort Collins away away away song, probably louder than it's
been in rupp Arena. Was there. So right. I mean,
this fan base, we continue to be like amazed by it.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Every time, and we got in down in Clemson. There
was a big blue contingent. We heard the cash cheer.
You heard it during the broadcast TV brow.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
He ended up actually that ended up being a much
better atmosphere than we thought.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
One of the rare December court storms.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Yeah, yeah, they were with the uh the lights off
court storm.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
When people when people people run on the court. Shannon
and I don't think you should turn the lights in.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
What can possibly go along?

Speaker 7 (15:56):
You know, somebody just wanted to punch somebody in the face.

Speaker 8 (15:58):
The lights are off, people, you could trip zero video
evidence of what happened.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Oh, I don't know that that's the way to go,
but I kind of thought the court storm might be
good for our players. Kind of feel it like you're Kentucky, Well,
did you felt that loss? Did you see the Pope quote?
Pope has a good quote about that. Pope has a quote.
I'll find it. Here's what he said. Uh he said,
I know. Cal Perry used to say, where everybody's super Bowl,

(16:24):
this is why you come to Kentucky, this is why you.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Put on the jersey. It's an honor, but it also
requires you to be great, and we weren't great. To
not I like that.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yeah, I mean Cal was right, and it's everybody's super Bowl,
but it is also an honor to play. There is
a sense we often go, man, everybody banks in threes
against us, which they do, and we always get everybody's
best effort, which they do, and we always get everybody's
best crowd.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
We we do.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
But that's the honor of the jersey, right, Like, that's
why you come here. That's what Alabama gets in football.
You know, that's what you get. That's why you come here,
and you have to reach that effort.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Yeah, and I think maybe you know, you don't want
to lose that game. But we already know how much
they appreciate being a Kentucky But maybe just seeing how
much it's solid for another team to see what it
meant for them to lose, maybe that'll just inspire them
even more. Like, yeah, we've made it to UK and
you know we are the top dog. Because that court
storm early December, you don't see any of those.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Yeah, all right, who's up first?

Speaker 6 (17:19):
Drew?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Drew? Go ahead, Drew, Hey, how are y'all? What's going on? Hey?

Speaker 11 (17:27):
The first thing I gotta say is Clinton will be
the ugliest team I've ever seen. I mean, I'm not
an attractive fellow, but.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
That's it is not it is not uh, it's not
the cover of GQ.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I think that's fair to say. I'm glad you said
it not me, but it's not a terrible boy.

Speaker 11 (17:55):
But one thing that confused me was the rotation tonight, because,
like I thought, we felt like we went on some
runs and then after the time out we just completely
do something different. Now, I was just confused by that
because we were going, we were going like an eight
oh run, and then we just changed it all up
out of nowhere.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
And then they yeah, if you had if we if
I had to do I appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
If I had to do something over Shannon, if I
was coaching, which is thankfully, I mean for the team.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
We go on that nine oh run, We go up
twenty eight, twenty three, Clemson calls time out. Pope takes
out Butler who had two fouls, Williams and Carr. He
takes all three of those guys out put that I
don't remember who he put in, but I think it
was Creasa Garrison and someone I can't maybe bray it,
maybe a yeah and Clemson then immediately goes on a

(18:44):
ten oh run right back.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
That to me was a key sequence.

Speaker 7 (18:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
And then I mean Butler put the team on his
back and carried him for I mean most of the game.
So yeah, I mean some of the rotations were a
little confusing. I'm not really sure why he did that, but.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
He probably thought. My guess what he thought is, Okay,
we're up five, there's three minutes to go. I can
get Car, I can make sure Car and Butler don't
pick up their third found.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I'll get us the halftime yep. In past but then
you have that ten oher run and we don't get
it right.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
In past games, her reserves compimension but held their own
probably would have protected that lead a little better tonight,
just did. They just didn't get it done.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Tonight as much as we've seen in any game. Laman
Butler is a dude you gotta have out there, Like
you just said, at the moment he sat down, they
want to a ten on run. He was so good
tonight from the field, He had his free throws, he
had the usual defense. That guy needs to be out
there as much as possible, and heard him when he
got in foul trouble.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
You're not gonna see too many games max with plus
seventeen for your starting point guard minus twenty one for you.
I mean, you're not gonna see that very much in basketball.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
And you don't want to go back to the cal
perry of like only match matters. But I mean there
is a pot of pope that would be, like, we've
got to put some of these guys out there, see
what they can do, keep trying to develop them. If
you just keep them on the bench and play seven
guys the whole year, then you're gonna get and out
of some of them. Like, they're not going to get
any better, so you may as well use games like
this put them out there. Now, that doesn't sound good

(20:06):
for a one off game, but in the whole term
of the seasons, you got to put him out there
and let them see if they can get better. I mean,
you got to see what Creasy can do. If you
can put him out there for fifteen to twenty minutes,
well he's got to play better.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Yeah, as fast as he was on offense, and he
was he was in the first half, his offense was
glaring to be but in the second half, that defense
I mean they were just they couldn't leave him out there.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
Grandpa guy was just driving right past him. Just time out.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Every time time.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
And even the I thought the biggest shot of the
game was was a two point game when the old
big guy what was his name, the Russian Russian he
hit that three. Yeah, that took him from two to five.
But he was open because car had to double to
stop the drive because Creasey had gotten beat.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
So now they had some big shots.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
I mean Kentucky had shots at the end O Way
went over three there in the end on the opposite side,
and Clemson had them.

Speaker 8 (20:58):
They made him fierce thing. We got this game out
of the way. Let's move forward. Got Gonzaga coming up.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
We'll probably go one and one. Which would you rather win?
We're following the.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Worst part about it though.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
We are the one loss in the SEC a SEC
Challenge and one I'm not.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Has already won the challenge. It's over.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
We could have swept.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Yeah, who's up next? Pat? Pat? How are you? Pat?

Speaker 7 (21:26):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (21:26):
Matt doing well?

Speaker 10 (21:27):
How about you doing good?

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Good?

Speaker 3 (21:31):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (21:31):
I was just calling in actually about an article you
tweeted by Ken Smith saying breeze Calip Perry. Arkansas fans
get it more than Kentucky fans. Well, somebody pointed out
there's a bunch of typos, and it was a really
weirdly written article. We think it might still be that
artificial intelligence stuff that Sports Illustrating got caught doing at

(21:51):
the end of last year.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
You know, yeah, it was terrible. They might have been,
But what they're basically doing is they're having fans articles.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Now, I mean, like fans like sports. It's not Sports
Illustrated writers anymore. I mean they have some, but most
of the team sites are run by fans, and so
you know, it's just it's it's a blogger and and that.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
That's why I deleted the article.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
By the way, I appreciate the cause when I first
saw it, I was like, oh, this must.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Be a Sports Illustrated article. And then when I read it,
I was like, that's not a Sports Illustrated article, and
I'm not just gonna retweet a fan blog.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
So ARKTSOL came back to win that game tonight that
I thought they were dead.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
I thought they would Miami's bad, but they hit some
I mean like they hit some big shots.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
We watched the end of that game. They hit they
were that game was tied. I think Boogie Flan.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
So DJ and Bigs has some big shots.

Speaker 9 (22:42):
If they've got anything we done, it's guys. They just
create their own shots.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
That's always been I mean, like you honestly saw the
difference in the two coaches. All right, Cow doesn't run
late offense, but he does have guys who can go
get a shot, and if he's playing against a subpar team,
they can get there get their things. Pope right now,
I think he will the future have a guy who
can go get a shot, but he doesn't have it,
and he can run offense.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
But if you miss a shot, you miss a shot.
You know he was open twice, he missed it both us.
Who's next, Blake, Blake, what's up Blake?

Speaker 13 (23:16):
Hey, guys, I just want to say it's always good
to have the whole crew together. You guys have been fun, uh,
you know, the whole way through, and I'm excited to
see what y'all do for the rest of the trip.
But uh, just wanting to say with the I know
Pope's a big analytics guy, and I hope I was
kind of you know, disappointed he didn't run any like
different defenses with the backup crew, because I feel like
they could have done a like a zone at some

(23:38):
point because they were getting killed in the second half
with that second group, uh just going to the like
the outer like you know, they're getting beat not to
the baseline, but on the wing pretty much on both
sides with several different guys. So I hope that they
kind of see and run the like run some different
defenses with that second group because the first group can
play man to man all they want. But I'm not

(24:01):
too worried about the loss because it was it was
still fun. We battled back a bunch of times. We
just didn't have the ball go down and you know,
shots we didn't hit. So I hope this is like
the Indiana game.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Yeah, I mean that's what you right.

Speaker 13 (24:14):
You do hope that forman and we hope that they're
pumped about it for the rest of the season to
use out a.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Field, appreciate it to call that's a really good analogy.
I mean, Kerr Crisa played twenty one minutes, Lamont Butler
played nineteen.

Speaker 7 (24:26):
That's a problem he was forced to because the injury.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
So I mean, I don't think that was Pope's choice,
but that's a big thing. He also played create. I
think they're gonna have to maybe Drew to look at
whether it's Robinson or o Way, letting them get some
minutes at backup point guard for games like this.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Yeah, curR is that bad?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yes, tonight. I'm not saying he's always going to be
that bad, but he was that bad tonight.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
And it's just so reckless. I mean, some of the
threes he takes, it's like, what do you do? And
then they're not even close.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
We love his attitude, but this is kind of what
we knew.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Coming in, what we were getting, and we're seeing the
negative negative end of it.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
I mean, he was oh for four from the field
and getting cooked on defense. And again I'm not blaming
him for the game, but like, you can't have that.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
I think it's because we named him the Johnny Rocker
role player the game.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Why did you do that?

Speaker 6 (25:26):
I'm trying to help the poor man, the new sponsor,
new sponsor, Johnny Rocker.

Speaker 8 (25:33):
Don't Yeah, first of all, don't put it. Johnny Rocker
had nothing to do with this. He had zero minutes
in the game.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Do we find out was DEVO ever introduced?

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I don't know. If he did, they should have booed,
Who's next, John, John? Go ahead, John.

Speaker 14 (25:49):
Hey guys, hope you're staying warm out there. I am
from Kentucky. I live here in Washington State, so super
excited to have you out here.

Speaker 10 (25:57):
For the game.

Speaker 14 (25:58):
A couple of things. I think no point guard tonight
for half the game, as you mentioned, leads to sixty
something points, which is unfortunate to see. But you know,
what are you gonna do if you don't have somebody
out there kind of leading the offense, which we saw
a lot of dudes struggle today from a defensive perspective.
Everybody minus CREASEA played really good, so you know this
game had to happen. I'm glad it happened today versus

(26:21):
this weekend against a ranked team. And I'm curious. You know,
I'm from Kentucky. I live in North Carolina. I made
that same drive. I live here in Portland. What are
you guys doing from the next part of the trip.
What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (26:32):
So we're going to We're gonna go tomorrow night. We're
gonna We're gonna spend tomorrow night in Vail. We're gonna
spend Thursday night in Salt Lake City. We're gonna spend
Friday night in Boise, where we may go to the
Boise State Mountain West title game to see if they
make the playoff. Then we're gonna get up early Saturday.
Drive to Seattle will be there Saturday night and all
day Sunday cool.

Speaker 14 (26:53):
Any chance of a pregame show in Seattle, that's the goal.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Depends on what time we get up in Boise. That's
the goal, but we definitely will do if we win,
we'll definitely do something in public for the post game,
and maybe even if we lose that there'll be a
way if people want to come say hello.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
We'll make sure we do that. But appreciate the call.
We the Boys Eat to Seattle. Drive is a longer drive.
If I told you before the game, Ryan that we'd
hold them to thirty seven percent shooting from the field,
thirty two percent from three, that at the end of
the game we would time and rebounds and we'd hold
them to seventy points, you'd probably feel pretty good about

(27:32):
our chances to have won.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
I would have taken that in a second, because I
would have felt like we would have shot the ball
well enough to win the game.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
So it's difficult as poor Shannon as the defense was
yea at times. Overall, I think the problem was scoring
more than it was defensive.

Speaker 8 (27:47):
Kentucky just looked different tonight than they have all season.
I mean even against Duke, they looked more comfortable. I
don't know if it was the environment. I don't know.
Maybe he's just something that Clemson was doing defensively to
sort of throw them off. They didn't look like the
same Kentucky team that we've seen the first games.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Oway five for thirteen, Robinson five for thirteen, Car one
for seven. Those are probably your three best scores. Yeah, Away, Robinson,
and car they combined to go eleven for thirty three
from the field.

Speaker 9 (28:18):
Robinson didn't have a great night, but I'm gonna be honest,
in that second half he kind of started to show
something that we would like to see a little bit
more of him being a bit more aggressive attacking, opening
the floor up for others. Like if Kobe Bray is
gonna get more shots, he needs guys to be able
to create, so then they have to calm double team.
So Robinson's gonna have to be that guy that just
like just put your head down sometimes and go for

(28:39):
it and just see if you can get that drive
to anything.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Let me say, with Lamar Bower, we not only say
he's important. Nineteen minutes, sixteen points.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Six assists. Yeah, yeah, in nineteen minutes, that's pretty good.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
Who's up next, Tyler?

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Yeah? He tell me? Ready to go ahead, Tyler?

Speaker 15 (28:58):
What's going on? Guys? Wish the Cats would have won tonight,
but it is what it is. I throughout watching the game,
I we saw the same thing with the Duke game,
and fortunately Kentucky won that game. But I worry that
this team struggles all year with a team that makes

(29:21):
you play in a half court, physical offense. And I
feel like we saw with the Duke game, can.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Struggle with it.

Speaker 15 (29:29):
They want, obviously, but then tonight they were thrown in
the same situation and it was a loss. And I
feel like the big issue will be with just a
team that plays physical and a team that makes you
sit in half court and you know, run plays and
all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
And there's no doubt, there's no doubt that's gonna be Uh,
you know, I appreciate the call. Unless you're a super team,
you're gonna have a weakness. And the question is can
they exploit your weakness? That's ours? Ours is gonna be
a team that plays physical defense? Can we score on?

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (30:09):
We said that how team are gonna play.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
They're gonna, They're gonna and you know, when you're on
the road, you're not gonna get him many calls.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Although that guy did double drill.

Speaker 7 (30:18):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
To be honest with you, I didn't see it in
real time.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
I did.

Speaker 8 (30:22):
You're the only one to mention it, and Mario I
was like, that was a double dribble.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
You're the only one to mention it.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Yeah, nobody else of the forty people there are not
one person mentioned it.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
You're the only one that saw it. Yeah, s alright.

Speaker 10 (30:35):
It was almost like one so obvious that it wasn't ever.
I guess everyone was like, there's no why that happened.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Yeah, I will take a break if I'm nine two eighth,
twenty two eighty seven. Its Local Toy Dealers KSR Post
Game Show, Welcome Back. It is the Local Toy Dealers
KSR Post Game Show. This one's gonna be late. Do
you know what the Kenzaga one's gonna be later? Yes,
it is, Yeah, it's gonna be But that's Saturday night.
Uh if I'm on two eighth, twenty two eighty seven, well,

(31:03):
one person rights, Matt. Everybody's gonna play physical against this.
I assume Pope's teams will get more physical. Do you
think He's teams play physically traditionally? Probably not, But they've
got some dudes on here who could be physical, like
I think Almanor could be physical. I don't know if
he's athletic enough.

Speaker 7 (31:20):
Amar's got the size.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
He Amari played really well against the guy that looks
like Drew. You said he look like he no, but
his lenth really bothered that guy. Yes, Carr was the
one that got worked by and Garrison. He worked Garrison too.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
We all saw it. For the offense to start initiating
with a Mario Williams on the point is not good.
It doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
And if you have to get three turnovers in the
first half doing it.

Speaker 6 (31:52):
That one time from the point, three turnovers and a
misshot if he's down the block, I'm all for it.
But man, he can't initiate eat the offense out front.
He just can't. I don't know why they run that way.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
When he gets the ball and he starts to dribble.
What do I do? Mario?

Speaker 4 (32:10):
There was a crowded bar, there was a gasp, startling.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
No, no, no.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
And one time he had outside of the laye and
you're he was dribbling. You and I both like, you're
too far out. You're too far out, You're too far out.

Speaker 9 (32:25):
This might be maybe counterintuitive, but I think if cret
is going to go out there with lack of physicality,
go get some fouls, like, go beat some guys up,
like go crash, like, go crash through some guys trying.

Speaker 10 (32:38):
To get the ball.

Speaker 9 (32:39):
Like put some physical stuff on on the game, because
that's kind of going to be his roller, Like ignite
us and get us going.

Speaker 10 (32:45):
If we're gonna put him out there.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
I still can't believe they did that guy.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
I mean, there's not a specific play I can remember,
but there's no way, shit. And he played that many minutes,
had twenty rebounds and didn't commit found there's no way.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
No way.

Speaker 8 (32:57):
And he did play physical, of course, not contrary to Kentucky.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
He was one for eight from three we were leaving him.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
There was one that didn't even hit realm.

Speaker 8 (33:07):
They hit glass like Ryan shot yesterday, and I who's
up next?

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Jackson, Jackson, go ahead.

Speaker 16 (33:15):
Jackson, Well that's not to using tickets and lose.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
But that's right, you were the season ticket bar.

Speaker 16 (33:25):
Yeah, the thing that really uh, I mean, you've already
hit the nail on the head with Butler and Chris
the curse. I thought I was watching dribble drive out
there tonight. Sometimes the ball really seemed to stop and
guys started pounding the ball into the pavement and and

(33:48):
that's and it very seldom ended. Well, I mean, Carr
had two turnovers in the lane trying to dribble it
in the same way that Williams did. Uh. And so
I mean, I think.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Said Jackson, Pope said what you're saying. Pope said in
the post game. We had guys who got away from
what we try to do and they started thinking about
trying to fix it themselves, and that's not how we win.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
I think that's what you're saying, basically.

Speaker 17 (34:14):
Yeah, that is and and that was despinting to see
the offense just kind of I didn't expect to see
the dribble drive tonight, but you know, it's we'll turn
it around.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
It was.

Speaker 17 (34:27):
It's a fun team to watch. I got tomb Duke
so it's not all. I can't wait till I seeing
the Nashville and hopefully seeing a couple more times then
and we'll win the SEC.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
All right, Well, be careful going home. Appreciate the call.
My man bought season tickets at Clipson for this game.
I wish we could have gotten him in.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
W so close.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
Uh Clemson rebounds, well you matched them in that, and
then their leading scorer Hunter, You tell them.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
To rebounded him rebound in the second half. First half
we were dreadful rebound even the second half was.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
I mean, you're prett game checklists and probably have rebound
with them in Lemon Hunter, and what do you have?

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Ten points? He didn't play well from the field. He's
their leading scorer.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Well, how many games are we gonna win this year
if we score sixty six this team? No many? Not many?
I mean you're we just didn't score.

Speaker 7 (35:13):
Now, Yeah, get into too many of those rock fights.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yeah, this is not a rock fighting Yeah, this is
not a rock fight team. We're not a rock fight team.
Who's next, Luke, Luke, what's up?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Luke?

Speaker 18 (35:25):
Hey, guys, obviously a little disappoint obviously disappointed, just like
you guys, A little frustrated to uh, you know, I mean,
live by the three, died by the three. But you
can't shoot eleven to eighteen at the freak line.

Speaker 17 (35:37):
You just can't.

Speaker 18 (35:38):
That's that's a recipe for disaster, right there.

Speaker 19 (35:41):
One thing.

Speaker 18 (35:42):
Look, I called on after the Georgia State game and
talk about how I think we should occasionally full court press,
and against a team like this that wants to slow
you down, I really wish I would have seen a
full court press at some point just to try to
speed the game up. And their bigs don't handle the
ball well, so this would have been a team.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
To do that. Again.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, you know you did say I told you I
didn't think we do a lot of that.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
You might be right. This might have been a game
to do it.

Speaker 18 (36:06):
Yeah, And like I mean, obviously, I know you don't
want to do that in twenty twenty four too often
and as a better team you don't want to do it.
But tonight might have been a knight to try it out.
But should have could have woulda at the end of
the day, if you knock down ten of twenty seven
instead of seven to twenty seven, you win. If you
knock down fifteen of eighteen at free throw line, you
go to overtime, but again, should have, could have, woulda
It is wood it is if you win on Saturday,

(36:29):
we'll find out a lot about this team. Because if
they can come back and win on Saturday against a
very good Gonzaga team, you know, then it doesn't matter.
You gotta split on the road trip and you build
from there. But you know, I just a frustrating game,
But I do like.

Speaker 12 (36:43):
That they didn't quit.

Speaker 10 (36:44):
They fought.

Speaker 18 (36:45):
I mean they got absolutely outmuscled and outmanned in the
first half, and then the second half they they didn't.
I got out rebounded by yeah, yeah, we got out
rebounded by ten in the first half and we ended tied.
So that means we outrebounded them by ten in the
second half. So that shows that they did. They did
man up in the second half and decided to be physical.

(37:08):
But at the end of the day, the shots just
didn't fall. And that play that Pope ran to get
away that shot in the corner. I have seen many
coaches run a play just like that and it almost
always works. Actually, John cal Ferry, when he had things rolling,
that was one of his favorite things to do.

Speaker 10 (37:24):
At the end of games.

Speaker 18 (37:26):
Frank Vogel did it in Indiana as well when he
was coaching there.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
But no, I got shot they wanted. Yeah, I mean
I appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
They got the shots they wanted there at the end,
they got the shots they wanted on those threes.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Oh I missed him. I mean, like when on that
Of all my complaints, that's but by the way, he
missed badly on those shots. I mean they were they
were not closed right, not makers, not shooters.

Speaker 6 (37:48):
Not only did they they not that they got the shot,
they got one of the guys. I think they wanted
taking the shot. I think they would.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
People, though, whould say, maybe, considering how he was shooting.

Speaker 7 (38:01):
All right, you picked up that gun car from that.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Ben hacking a lot.

Speaker 6 (38:06):
Ye starting to be a little scratching to get some
water there.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Find me some people, though, who would say, maybe Brayers
should have been in for that job.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
I don't know why he was didn't play much the
second half. I mean, I don't think he was in
foul trouble. I don't know if he's getting beat on defense.
Somebody need to tell me why he wasn't on the floor.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
All right, Well, I'll demand an answer for it.

Speaker 9 (38:26):
I again when you asked me something, demanded let him
get away with something.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
Did you almost fall off the seat?

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (38:38):
Backwards.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Look, I know it's late. You are falling apart together.
We only have a segment and a half left.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Get stung all over me leaning back to the other
the way and who's next, Todd, Todd.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Go ahead, Todd, Oh man, what'n tonight?

Speaker 2 (38:57):
We've had a great trip. Tonight was a lot of fun.
Tonight was a good day all the way around, except
when Matt got threatened.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I was talking about where you was gonna eat dinner
that Max was wanting Australian food, and.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Oh well no, yeah, we didn't go to the Australian place.
But Ryan has a chance to fix that tomorrow. We'll
talk about it on the morning show. But yes, we
did have a good place. Mario did well. He picked
a good place and it was perfect for all the fans.
We had a lot of space for everybody.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
It was good.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Maw did great, real good. I was listening to your
pregame show today and I don't know if somebody on
their manch it, or if if Jimmy Dykes mantioned it
before the game. Someone made the comment that Clemson didn't

(39:48):
play very good deepens and I thought they played pretty good.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Deep No, no, they did. They are a pretty good
defensive team. They actually I think their weakest position on
defense is probably their point guard. I mean, if you notice,
Butler could take him almost every time. Crisa was not
able to but Butler was. But yeah, no, they play
good defense, and they're big, they're physical, I mean they
bump you. The refs didn't call a ton and so
it worked out for him.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
At number four, he was he was really pumped up
and then he don't look at athletic eve now looks
kind of like rhyme. But I just didn't think we
played very well. Tonight played better in the second half,
but you know, we I just didn't think we played Now, we.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Didn't play great. I mean, if we had won, we
would have stolen it. And I appreciate the call and
we had a shot to but but we didn't.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
All right, Billy, do I need to take a break
right now? Yes? Yes, Billy's like, there's this two o'clock
in the morning thing, so I need to take a break.

Speaker 7 (40:49):
What happens at two o'clock At two o'clock in.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
The morning, Billy says, the station.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
Will explode really get out there.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
So we have to take a break. I don't know
how that helps, Billy. How does me taking a break?

Speaker 20 (41:01):
Now?

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Hell?

Speaker 8 (41:01):
Well, the log resets it too, So if we were
in a commercial break at two, then who.

Speaker 7 (41:06):
Knows what would happen?

Speaker 1 (41:08):
So what would happen?

Speaker 8 (41:09):
I kind of want to see what would happen. Let's
just drag this out for another couple of minutes.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Now, I don't want Billy to get stressed.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
We'll take a break, we'll come back, we'll do the
final segment, and we'll go to bed and see you
in night hours. This is the Kentucky Local Toy On
Dealers ks OUR postgame Show.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Welcome back.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show. We
got five people on, we're gonna take them. Then we're
gonna call it a night.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
Seven.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
One little interesting tidbit. We were at Iowa Max on
yesterday on yesterday and we all took shots from a
certain point on the court.

Speaker 10 (41:49):
Yeah, I say, no Mario shots.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
You know.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
We took basketball shots from the logo where Caitlyn Clark
hit her shot to break the scoring record. Tonight it
was on the other side of the court, but the
same spot. I would hit a buzzer beater to beat
Northwestern from that spot. I think that's reversed the KSR
curse absolutely.

Speaker 9 (42:12):
And I know, you know, I don't want to upset you.
I know you've announced your retirement this way. But maybe
they saw your film soa what not to do and
then just kind of did they saw.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
Kind of you know, you saw me it was the
keys for your elbow.

Speaker 9 (42:25):
Maybe they played Drews tape Drew made one from this,
or maybe they played that.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
I do think something about us being there really helped
him out. You know, they had just had a bad loss.
Our friend Austin that showed us around. You can tell
us a little nervous about the game. I thought we
brought good vibes, good energy in the Iowa building and
that's why they won.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Louisville, by the way, lost tonight, but twenty five at
Homed old Man.

Speaker 7 (42:44):
Was anybody there to see it?

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (42:46):
Really full crab.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Buddy bought tickets like twenty rows up per ten bucks.

Speaker 5 (42:51):
They're perfectly broken, so it's not good.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
Who's next, Harold, Harold? How were you? Harold?

Speaker 21 (42:59):
Am good? First time, long time.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
Who are what's up? Hey?

Speaker 21 (43:05):
I just wanted to say, without getting two into the weeds,
I'm not super impressed with the Pope offense so far.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
Hang on a second. We did lead the country in
scoring until tonight.

Speaker 21 (43:19):
Sure, yeah, we played a lot of you know, we
played one of.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Those with Duke. Yeah.

Speaker 21 (43:26):
Sure, and we played six other teams that aren't all
that great. You can admit that, right.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Yeah, But I mean I'd like you to show me
how many people, i mean, how many offenses in the
country haven't had a game where they've scored uh sixty six?

Speaker 21 (43:42):
Oh, you're you're right. I'm just worried that when people
are saying live by the three tybrids three, that we've
had two or three games now where we've not been
awful by the three, but we haven't been very good.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
And well, there's gonna be games, I mean, there's gonna
be games where we don't choose. Well, I mean, you know,
under the cow offensive system. We lost games under pretty
much every offensive system ever known, demand you lose.

Speaker 21 (44:14):
Yeah, but we didn't even shoot that poorly from three
to night, and we swore we were seven.

Speaker 1 (44:19):
We were seven for twenty, we were seven for twenty seven.
That's bad.

Speaker 21 (44:24):
Yeah, that is that is pretty bad. But it could
you know, nearing thirty three percent. Yeah, I understand, but
you're getting close.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
If we had shot thirty three percent, we would have won. Yeah, probably, Okay,
appreciate the call. Okay, yep, I.

Speaker 8 (44:46):
Mean they shot similar, they shot similar to that and
the previous two games and one.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
I'm not sure what his argument. Yeah, so, I mean
we'd shot thirty three percent, we won.

Speaker 9 (44:57):
When people was a living like lived by the three
did by three. Well, that's literally one of our best
places to score. Like it's not as if like it's
just some crazy thing that's come out of nowhere.

Speaker 10 (45:07):
A lot of teams shoot a lot of threes.

Speaker 9 (45:09):
So like it's not just some like phenomenon where we're
like we're rolling the dice here to see if we
win every game.

Speaker 10 (45:14):
It's just a good way to score.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Yeah, I mean three of the four teams that went
to the final four last year were really really good
three point absolutely.

Speaker 10 (45:25):
If anything, we could have shot more tonight, run.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Hope says he wants to shoot thirty five. We shot
twenty seven, so maybe we should have shot more.

Speaker 8 (45:34):
I guarantee, if you take eight more. You're gonna hit
at least two of those. Yeah, there's the.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Game, and twenty six is almost thirty three, not quite
leading to it. Yeah, who's up next? Sure, Alex Philly,
get a little sassy, Alex, go ahead, Alex, so.

Speaker 20 (45:55):
First time, long time.

Speaker 19 (45:59):
Harold's kind of a uh, well he don't know what
the basketball Benni's I guess, but shout out, shout out
Drew and Ryan from being from my neck of the woods, Newburgh,
Indiana close enough, but but uh, I just think that, Uh,
I mean they out physical to us, you know, and
they fought us off ball screens, and they out out

(46:19):
physical to us enough.

Speaker 22 (46:20):
To where we couldn't shoot threes, and they took us
out of our game. And I think it is what
it is. And I think everybody should still be happy
with Mark Pope, because I you know, it is what
it is, and I think we're gonna be just fine,
all right.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
I appreciate uh. One person writes Matt asked Billy why
Salt Shaker just started playing on eight forty at two am, twins.

Speaker 5 (46:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (46:43):
I'm not sure about that one.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
Well, maybe people aren't hearing us on eight forty they're hearing.

Speaker 6 (46:49):
Salt shaker, I'd hate that for us.

Speaker 5 (46:52):
All right, Well, but he will not apologize.

Speaker 20 (46:56):
Three.

Speaker 8 (46:57):
We had so many drops, So we just have two
right now.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
More, That's okay, We'll finish with two. It's like Dougie,
go ahead, Dougie.

Speaker 16 (47:06):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Matt person, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (47:09):
Who are.

Speaker 21 (47:11):
All right?

Speaker 20 (47:12):
So I got I got two kick points for you guys,
and I'll hang up and listen.

Speaker 16 (47:15):
Uh.

Speaker 20 (47:15):
First off, tonight, I got a lot of people on
Twitter are talking about Kobe Brea's uh.

Speaker 23 (47:21):
Plus minus and there with sixteen was exactly everybody's talking
about him with you know, Kirk Reese and Brandon Garrison
plus minus tonight, and.

Speaker 20 (47:33):
Uh, I guess my first point is that I think
I think we can all agree that Kobe Brick has
a defensive deficiency. And I just think as a coach,
you would you would want to mask that, right, You
kind of want to you want to mask that he's
got a defensive deficiency. So in my opinion, I think
he should get more minutes with Lamont Butler. Let's take

(47:55):
and Amari Williams on the court with him. So you've
got three elite defenders and that way, you can kind
of mask his deficiencies defensively a little bit, because you know,
you're throwing him on the court with Kerk Kresa, You're
thrown him on the court court with Kerk creesa who's
also notoriously not a great defender. And I think that's
gonna just you know, make uh, you know, everybody's life

(48:18):
a little a little more difficult when you got multiple
bad defenders on the court. So that's my first point
and I'll let you guys talk about that. My second
point is I'm a little bit worried about about our
big men, and my point being is that this is
the second good team I would say we've played this year.
First game was the first. First good team was obviously Duke,

(48:38):
and against Duke, I think you could genuinely obviously I
think we played a good game against Duke, especially in
the second half. But I think you could genuinely make
the argument that we maybe would have watched that game
if not watch didn't go out with.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
Cramps, but didn't get we might have got one tonight.
Butler didn't turn his.

Speaker 20 (49:01):
Exactly exactly. I completely agree with you, but I think
he could make make it, make the case that if
Valewatch didn't go out with Kramps, we we maybe would
have struggled in those last nine ten minutes there. So
I just think our big men got a little bit.
It was a little bit better in the second half,
but they got bullied a little bit.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
No, not elite.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Our big men are not elite. I mean, I appreciate
the call. I think Amri's a really good defender Drew,
but offensively they're not elite. And I think Amri's a
decent rebounder. But he also can get out worked sometimes.
I think he did in the first.

Speaker 4 (49:37):
Half, and we've seen something out of him just recently.
He gets a little emotional too when things gone wrong
and it's affected him. You know, one bad play turns
himTo a couple and you know, for every amazing pass
he makes, as he is a good passer, we also
see a lot of turnovers when he's trying to make
those passes. So I mean, he'll give you a lot
of good, but there's also a lot of bad with

(49:58):
him too. I feel like Pope just needs to reel
him in a little bit, like, hey, you don't always
have to try to take your man off the dribble.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
Or trying to make that perfect.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
Pass to a guy making him back for cutting, because
he does do a lot. I mean defensively is great.
I think he's rebounding well, but he he is way
too turnover prone.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
Yeah, he doesn't need to ever, uh dribble. Let's do
one more and we'll all go to bed. Who's next, Paul?
Paul by the way, for Paul says this one person goes,
these are my favorite shows when you are late at night.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
If we were winning, you all would be drunk, giddy.
This is sad but still fun.

Speaker 5 (50:28):
Well, we're about to go watch videos about the Denver report,
so we're excited.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Yeah, well that's what Paul.

Speaker 24 (50:41):
It's first time, long time.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
Who are.

Speaker 24 (50:48):
You guys? Got me?

Speaker 1 (50:49):
Yes, go ahead.

Speaker 24 (50:51):
Yeah, you guys have just beat the basketball death doing
to do that. But I want to give a feel
good story. This is my daughter and i's first true
road game for a UK.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 24 (51:00):
And we had bought tickets up in the in the
third row from the top, and uh, we were splitting
a bunch of Clemson fans and we said, hey, once
you guys just take our seats. Y'all can sit together
and we'll sit on the end. So we did that
and low and beholders. We were sitting there. Somebody from
the UKA staff came up and said, hey, with you guys,
like an upgrade and they gave us tickets six rows
behind the bench. So we got to move down the

(51:23):
game there night and it was he said, courtesy of
Coach Pop and Miss Leanne. So I just want to
give him a shout outsing my daughter had.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
They just walked all the way to the top, saw
you guys and brought you down.

Speaker 24 (51:37):
Yes, sir, he handed me two tickets. Uh, like you
know the old school printibal tickets.

Speaker 21 (51:42):
Uh.

Speaker 24 (51:42):
Gave me two tickets. And then there was another eight
people around us that all got upgraded from the nosebleed sections.
They brought down to be in behind the bench for
the game tonight. It was It was completely awesome. It
was a great environment. Hate the outcome, but man, it
was a great, great game.

Speaker 7 (51:56):
Uh.

Speaker 24 (51:56):
I give I give profs to Clemson. They were super loud,
noisy environment and you know, right there by the student section,
it was wild.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
That's very cool though.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
That's a very cool thing that they would go up
there to the people who came in the top. That's
that is a nice, feel good way to end. And
I'm glad you got to go with your daughter. Thank
you very much.

Speaker 24 (52:15):
Yeah, y'all have a going Thanks guys, that.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Is a neat way to start, all right, before we
get out of here, give me one sentence on the night.

Speaker 4 (52:26):
Stop dribbling, amor right. I love him, I love him,
He's my favorite.

Speaker 5 (52:30):
But we got it. We got real him in a
little bit.

Speaker 6 (52:32):
Big thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with watching.

Speaker 7 (52:36):
Let Kobe shoot.

Speaker 9 (52:38):
All right in max one hour to Denver and poet.
Let's go check it out. Let's go find out. Let's
really we're not doing that. Thank you all very much.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
On line.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
Tomorrow we are in Windsor for the show. If you
would like to come, uh, send a DM to either
me or Ryan and we'll give you the address. Thank
you guys. Oh seriously for coming out tonight. It was great.
