Speaker 1 (00:06):
NFL Cover Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin is
a production of the NFL and iHeart podcast. It is
NFL Cover Zero Matt Jones and Drew Franklin here for
a Week six review. Drew has literally just landed after

(00:30):
flying from Denver, Colorado to Lexington, Kentucky. How was your flight, Drew? Nice?
Nice direct flight.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I was little bummed because on the way there, I
had Wi Fi and I was able to watch live TV,
so I thought I was gonna get to watch Sunday
Night Football. But you know, the Wi Fi had always
working on the plane, so I had to just stare
at the back of the seat and missed that game.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
But otherwise, good day, and I was able to watch
the other show. I looked at the slate this morning
before I did ESPN, and I went, oh, this isn't
the most fun. It was weird. They got to the
Bewitching Hour or whatever they say on red Zone, and
none of the games were close, but then they all
kind of got close at the end the afternoon shift.
The ending was was tonight and the Chiefs win thirty

(01:13):
to seventeen. It was kind of Drew an old school
Chiefs performance. Strong on offense, defense gets big stops. They've
beat a good lines team at home. They control the game,
two scores most of the game. Chiefs are back right.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, I saw all my homes and Kelsey are looking
like the old tantem that was a dominating everyone. You know,
earlier in the season. I was one of the people
really questioned the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
But Kelsey's doing that. He plays his way into shape. Yeah,
you know what I mean, like he's he's starting he does.
He looks a little thinner.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Well, when they get older, they don't really focus in camp. Yeah,
you know, a little lazy going to the season. I've
done this several times. I'll get in shape on down
the road he's doing he's doing that move.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah. I wonder is he like if he's kind of
a deadbeat boyfriend in the sense of, you know, his
his fiance was doing all kinds of stuff this summer
and he even through the course of the game if
you go look, if you watch the first quarter, Kelsey
has a couple of big drops early, including on a
third down that he should have made the play. Collinsworth

(02:16):
sounded like a disappointed dad. He was like, you have
to do that. Travis so not the normal collins Worth you. No,
he was not. Well, we'll get to that. There was
a little bit of that too. There was a little
bit of that, but he did a little bit of
the disappointed at But then in the second half it
was like old Kelsey mode activated and I thought Mahomes

(02:37):
looked great throughout the game. He does things nobody else can,
and I mean he won them the game tonight. A
lot of his scrambles were kind of old school Mahomes
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I caught the beginning of this before I took off.
The fourth and one with the Lions on the one yard,
that's the biggest play the game.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
What a wild play that was. Yeah, that was the
biggest play of the game. I mean, I think if
they score there, it's a different game. But they stop them,
then the Chiefs come down and get some points before half.
I think that was that was a huge decision. It
was interesting all game long. These two coaches are a
testament to how much football has changed. I mean early

(03:18):
in the game first, I think it was the first
drive of the game for the Chiefs. They're at fourth
and goal from the four and they go for it
and they score it's a pass to Worthy for a touchdown.
But I mean, you go back five years. People are
not going for touch on the first drive of the game.
Are they going to go for it on fourth and
goal from the four. That's a change that just didn't

(03:38):
used to happen. Yeah, see more coaches doing it. But
then Dan Campbell, he is just the craziest of all
of them. When they went for it on fourth down.
You know, most people, if you're going to go for it,
probably just power run. We're going to throw to our quarterback.
I mean, that guy's a psychopath. But I've really grown
to love the Lions. I'm kind of a bandway. It
would have worked if they had he lost him a
little bit. He did. I you could make a strong

(04:02):
argument that the difference in the game early were the
fourth down. Place there were the the fourth down or
the Chiefs score. Then the last drive before half they
convert or no first see me first drive and second
half they convert on a fourth down that leads to points.
And then of course there's the one the lines missed.
So it's just interesting that didn't used to be a thing.
And now if you're inside the five, you're going forward

(04:24):
every time, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
And it's not just there at the goal line too.
I mean we had vrayble go for it on like
fourth and seven from his own fifteen a few weeks ago.
Guys are just they're rolling the dice a little more
than we've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, but I like it makes it a lot more exciting.
The Chiefs are now three and three, back to title contender. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I worried if they lost this one and if the
Chargers were to win, that division might get so wide
that even if they did start clicking, that the gap
would be just too big. But beating the Lions is
a huge huge for them, getting them back at five
hundred and then obviously just proven how good they are.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Schedule is not easy, but it gets a little easier
than it was. I think right there. I just think
they're bored with like the regular season to them is yeah,
you know when it comes. And they should have won
that game last week with the Jaguars. I mean that
that was a game. You play that game, think about
when they had they were at the one yard line

(05:21):
or whatever, up fourteen nothing. You start at that moment
and you play the game one hundred times, They're gonna
win ninety six of them. It's just they throw that
pick six and then the game flips after that.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
And I think their early losses. I think Worthy was
gonna be a big part of what they're doing that offense.
I just completely threw them off in the beginning of
week one, and then she rice back next week.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
So he's been big having him back to Yeah, that's right. Now.
We do have to talk about Chris collins work.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, do I get an impersonation?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yes, you do, because this was a great one. Billy
almost texted you when it happened. It wasn't even a
particularly impressive play. It was like third and seven and
he and Mahomes decides to scramble and comes up two
yards short of the first down, and he gets hit

(06:07):
by three different guys. Did you see this place? He
got hit by one guy, bounced off of him, then
got nailed by another. It was one of those plays
where if you're a Chief fan, you're like, dude, you
got a slide because he didn't even get the first down.
But collins Worth was I mean, it had to be

(06:31):
one of the p I mean, he doesn't need any
any tea when he's watching these games to talk to
our conversation last a tea. His tea was not low
during this because he just was like, if you watch it,
he scrambles and he says, oh, Mike, oh oh oh,
can you believe it? He was like, no other quarterback

(06:54):
does that, Mike, no other quarterback does that. You know
a video we're gonna use this?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I did. I'm just saying that's
what he did. And he didn't even get the first down.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
He was two yards shore of the first down and
he just got nailed by the two lines defenders Collinsworth
and Mahomes. That's a love that goes deep.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's like Travis Taylor then Mahomes collins Worth.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Is that the ranking the couples? I think that's I
think that's the ranking he is. He gets you a
girl that looks at you the way Chris does Patrick.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
If nothing else, he's brought a new impersonations NFL Cover
zero that I hope will continue.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Another big part of this game. I got a text
message right before it started from a female friend of
mine who said, you all on Cover zero have to
talk about the fact that Travis walked into the game
with a Louis Vatan flannel, and I thought I'd bring
that up because we wouldn't have talked about him otherwise,
and that was not going to be something I brought up.

(08:08):
But I do like that this left Travis Kelcey now
brings that to the game as well. People caring who
don't even like sports about what he wears into the game.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And he can afford his own lous Vton Before to
other Swift, but now that they've we've had this big
company merger between Kelsey and Swift here, I mean he
can he can afford literally anything he wants.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I didn't know Louis Vaton made flannel. I usually don't
think of that as a Louis Vaton kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I don't chop there much, to be honest, I like flannels,
but don't usually go to Louis for this.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
When I go to Louis, which is often, I don't
usually come away with flannels. But now because of Travis,
I will. But big win, and I think for the Chiefs,
this is like all their doubters, They're going to be
right there in the end. Now, Billy, your bucks ended
up getting what I think was probably the most exciting

(09:02):
game of the day. Beating the forty nine ers. Baker Mayfield.
I'm going on record he's the MVP right now, isn't he? Oh?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah, he was awesome today. I got a shout out
a sports bar and Denver Airport. I think it's called Artisans.
They have the sound on this game. You don't usually
get sound in an airport bar. So I got to watch
a lot of this one in Mayfield. I mean, Billy
can I like buy jersey and get on the bandwagon.
He's just so fun. There's so many plays where maybe
a lineman bumps him and he is just so quick
to get up in their face and talk tracks well.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
His scramble on that third down, Billy is if you
were going to draw up exactly why people love Baker Mayfield,
that would be the play. He did so many Baker
Mayfield things. He did fakes, he got hit, he spun like.
It was such a great play. That was his MVP moment.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Yeah, And for him to do this without his four
starting wide receivers and his starting running back in Bucky Irving,
it's incredible. He's willing this team to a five to
one record. And we were talking about it before the
show started. If the season ended today, the Bucks would
be the one seed in the NFCED.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Well, I mean the Bucks being the one seed is odd.
The Colts would be the one seed in the in
the AFC, which we'll get to in a second. But
I mean Billy's points of mate that they're out with
four wide receivers, I mean four their wide receivers out,
Bucky Irvings out, and then they bring in Tes Johnson

(10:22):
amazing pass on that deep pass that was the That
was just a couple of plays after his crazy run,
that little sequence, the run and then the past to
Tes Johnson. Would you vote for Baker for MVP? Remember
we were last week. I asked you what the odds were. Yeah,
I think it was like plus six seventy five. It

(10:43):
was plus six hundred before the game today, after those
two plays, it went down to plus three forty in
like I'm not kidding, in like three minutes it went
from plus six hundred to plus three forty on the
back I think on the after those two plays.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
And it's it's the way that's the teams they're beating
to the way they're doing it. I mean, what was
it through the first three weeks? They come back you know,
you didn't beat the Eagles, but you had the Eagles
down that you're one loss. I mean the Bucks are
for real. Baker Mayfield's for real. It wasn't a little
fluky thing earlier in the season. I mean, Buka, I
know he didn't have much today being so they're so thin. Yeah,

(11:20):
he's a young star, so he had an early catch.
I mean, they really are. It's not just some flash
in the pan. They're hot for a couple of weeks.
I mean they're a real threat.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Well here's how much of a threat they are. You
and I have a friend who is a He's a
big time in the gambling world. It's named Stucky. You
know Stucky, right, you know, I don't know Stucky. Stucky's
when Stucky has gambling thoughts, I'm I follow all right now,
the Bucks are five and one. Stucky seems to hate

(11:48):
Tampa Bay. I don't know why it is. And he
wrote after the game, he said, I want you to
mark this tweet right now. He said the Bucks are
and he said cheeks. Oh, they're cheeks, which is by
what what that's that's that's a new term that means
not good. Yeah, And he said, remember this when they

(12:11):
finish eight to nine. Now, I rarely argue with Stucky, right,
I try to learn from Stucky, not argue with Stucky.
But I was like, okay, I can't let this go.
So I wrote Stucky and said, come on, the Bucks
are good. There's no way they're finishing eight to nine.

(12:31):
And then someone else got in and said the Bucks
aren't even good, which led to an argument on Twitter
with me of metaphysical what the word good means? But
can we all agree that they're not going to finish
eight to nine? Like Stucky says, Oh no, I mean
no way.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Think about the division. They still play the Saints twice,
the Panthers twice. That's four there is right there. I
even know the rest of the schedule, but that alone,
I'm counting them at four. And oh in those games,
you got another one against the Falcons, who you know
a little better than those two.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
You tell me the winner lose. They're at Detroit week,
we'll even call that a loss. Okay, Saints. When Patriots
win home home win at Bill's, we'll take that as
a loss at Rams. Maybe they feel a homecoming game
Cardinals at home? When Saints at home? When when Falcons

(13:25):
at home, end at Paton at Dolphin, when Panther's at home.
When that's eight more wins, how knstuck you think they're
going to win eight games?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Sounds like he's just maybe I got some stuff built
up anger towards the Bucks. He's a Ravens guy. I
can't think of any big Bucks Ravens moments.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Are you Are you in of the opinion that they're
they're going to win the Super Bowl? Are you getting
your hopes up?

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:48):
My hope's are up.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
It took three to four weeks after that Eagles loss.
I was still a little unsure. But Baker is just
a different breed right now. If he can stay healthy,
it doesn't matter who's around him. If he can stay healthy,
this team's got a chance. And that's exciting. Coming from
a team that's won this many division titles in a row.
It feels different.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
And they're not cheeks. No, not at all. Don't let
anybody say that. Don't let anybody say that. Fred Warner
for the forty nine ers, that's an awful injury. Yeah, yeah,
it was hard to watch. That's now two straight years
where the forty nine ers have had just stupid injury
luck or is it not luck? Do you think there

(14:30):
can be some I mean, like the laws of numbers
can't say it just can keep happening over and I agree.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
We had this talk last week, and now they've added
another significant injury a week later. It's way too many
to be fluky.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
I don't know. I'm not here to just.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Call out trainers and their staff, but that's back to
back seasons, just their roster being decimated.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
And yet they were in this game. They still have
an easy schedule. I mean, they still can be a contender.
I mean Matt Jones, you believe, I mean, he's kind
of hung in there for him right, Yeah, he's been good.
But it just hates Mac Jones by the way.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
It just seems like any quarterback and you know they're
beat up and the players are changing, but Party Jones,
whoever throw them out there, that's going to be the same.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I don't like Mac Jones for one simple reason. People
think his name is Matt Jones. They search him on Twitter,
it comes up at ky Like if you put him
Matt Jones on Twitter, the thing that comes up is me.
So people who want to cuss him will tag me.
So they'll be like, you know who you know who

(15:38):
can't play football at KY Sports radio and then you're like, yeah,
I know obviously I think. Yes, I'm forty seven, I
do work for the NFL though that's true. But does
the person never think that maybe the football player Mac Jones,
why would his Twitter hand handle be at KY Sports? Right,
he did commit to Kentucky. Maybe he just didn't change it,

(16:00):
but why would that be his Twitter hand But I
get at least eight or nine cussing out messages is
every single time Mac Jones play.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I think you should fire back as if you're him,
apologize offered a Cinema jersey as for their address, trying
as best I can.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
My team sucks. Look it's halftime. Will you stop distracting me?
Trying to watch the Gilded Age before I get back
out there. Uh? Did you see the one guy on
the forty nine ers? He stepped on the kicker's foot.
Oh I didn't see that part. I want you to
look up this picture for those of you at home,
if you're listening, if you're driving, pull over because I
don't want you to get in an accident. But look

(16:40):
at forty nine ers kicker get stepped on, and I
want you to notice the picture. Most importantly, I want
you to notice the discrepancy in size of their feet.
The lineman that steps on the kicker's foot.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Oh, before I even hit play, I see like the
scream shop the still image.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
So, oh, my goodness, his foot the lineman is twice
as big as the kicker's foot. I would maybe even
more than twice. That might be three times the size.
Here's my don't even look like the same species. It doesn't.
That's what I was gonna say. It looks like a
wooly mammoth is stepping on a bumblebee. So I want

(17:22):
us to guess, looking at those pictures, what is the
relative shoe size of each person? Because if you think
that kicker wears a tin, then that means that lineman
wears a twenty. It looks to be.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Very extreme each way, not like some kind of just
the way that's distorted the image. This looks like about
a seven and a half shoe and about a twenty
seven and a half shoe.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
That the kicker shoe can't be more than a nine. Yeah,
I was going like eighteen and eight. Maybe you think
do you think the guy's eighteen. Yeah, I mean I
have really big feet and I wear like twelve and
a half and I'm six four. For those of you
that don't let and so I have for like, I
have the biggest size of shoe you can have in

(18:10):
like Biden store. You get bigger than me, you have
to order, And I agree with you. I think he's
like an eighteen and I think it is That picture
needs to go in the in the Smithsonian.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
I just I'm surprised the forty owners didn't have another injury.
I mean it is Eddip, all right, he was hurt,
he was limed, he limbed for a while. Yeah, I
mean you see him wimp off in this video. I'm
five that that shoe might be in the twenties, might
might be going Shack style.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Look up, what's the biggest foot? Shack was twenty two
to twenty three is what I looked up. But what
was like, yao, like, what's the biggest foot known demand?
I mean there's got to be because Shaq was big,
But there have been people tall taller than Shack. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Biggest us size was a thirty seven eighty owned by
Robert Wadler, the tallest man in history.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
A thirty seven. Aa. Wow, So he was fifteen sizes
bigger than Shack. Yeah. Lived from nineteen eighteen to nineteen forty.
I did. It was really hard for him to get shoes.
Although he probably knew what cobbler. They probably feel a
line enough when to make his shoes. I don't know
why I thought that was so it's just a word.

(19:30):
That's a funny word. Yeah. Isn't that what old shoe
shoeacers were? Yeah? Yeah, I thought cobbler was a dessert. Well,
all right, let's go to London. Broncos beat the Jets
thirteen to eleven. Because I was doing the ESPN Morning show,
I had this game on the whole time, justin fields

(19:52):
and I'm I don't know if it was justin fields,
his offensive line, Aaron Glenn or all of them. It's
the worst offense that's ever been played. They combined total
passing yards negative ten. It's hard to do forty five
yards in the air and then fifty five yards in sacks.

(20:15):
He was sacked nine times. It's the worst passing performance
by a team drew in twenty seven years of NFL action.
I was in Denver. This game started at seven am.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
I was in a wedding last night and all the
groomsmen wanted to get up together and watch this at
seven am because they're all Broncos fans. I said, hell no,
but I did get up and I turned it on.
They all got up after the wedding and watched it
the city of Denver. It was like a party at
seven am if you're out of okay. Yeah, that's what's
kind of eat about these London games is how you
kind of get that morning, make it unique.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
So but your your buddy got married, yes last night
in Denver and everyone got Broncos fan. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
One of the groomsmen invited me to come over and
lay on his couch. Was like, no, I'm not getting
up to watch your You're just I did get up
to watch it in my hotel. You want to come
away on my couch? Village shout out, Tyler, come lay
on my couch. About halfway through the second quarter, I thought,
I don't, There's no reason I need to be up
watching this right now at eight am. Now at this point,
so I just completely turned it off and went back
and got my beauty.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Rest for cover zero.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
But absolutely brutal to be the only one on it
with the Jets should have won.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Yeah, the Jets were at the forty three yard line
first and ten. They needed to get five yards to
get in the field goal range and Justin Field's got
sacked twice and they ended up out of field goal
range and we're not able to get it the Jets.
Are you want to talk about cheeks?

Speaker 2 (21:44):
I mean, I thought Aaron Glenn might have something. You know,
he got a little fire.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I liked him. Let's talk about that for a minute.
So they got in a fight where they got in
a confrontation, Aaron Glenn and Garrett Wilson at the end
of the first half. They sort of jawed at each
other and they asked her. Wilson after the game about it,
and his quote was, and I'm I'm paraphrasing something to
the effect of, before the game, I didn't know what

(22:11):
the game plan was, and then when we started, I
saw what it was and it made me angry. I
was disappointed. I was disappointed. A couple of interesting things
about that. Presumably he should have known the game plan before.
It's true, I don't think that's a big part of
your job. He's paid well to be a part of that.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Team.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
You think it wasn't shared with him before. I would
assume that they.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Give their game plan to their maybe their best player
on the entire roster.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
It's not like a it's not like a movie where
you want to be surprised. There's no spoiler alert. Here's
what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah right, uh huh? Was it JaMarcus Russell when they
gave m a playbook of blank pages and he just
never like didn't even open it. They tested him, Yeah,
it's probably more of Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Just Kyler Murray too, right, like on his iPad they
found that he never opened Yeah, didn't didn't know.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
They're tracking how long in this screw time was like
zero or whatever.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah, for those of you around the country, JUW and
I cover Kentucky basketball. And they put in a new
system where they charted all shots taken in the practice gym,
and they wanted the coaches to every day. This was
when cal Perry was the coach. They wanted the coaches
to every day. They had different things they were supposed
to monitor, and they found after the season was over

(23:28):
that of the five assistant coaches, three of them and
never logged in on just the shooting system. It had
like their recruiting. It was like their whole operation. They're
like me and iHeart I've never checked my mail. They
were like that, except with what they needed to do
on their daily thing makes you wonder how often do
you think this happens. We've already named four stories of

(23:49):
guys just doing it, and these are people in prominent positions,
the quarterbacks and why you know there are lots of
guys on the team who don't or coaches. I've always
thought that memorizing the playbook has to be hard, right, Yeah,
that's why many people aren't cut out for doing it
a hot Didn't you have a dude like Joe Flacco

(24:10):
who's only on the team for three days? So how
does that work? Joe drop back and just throw it
to Jamar Chase. I do think that's interesting. But anyway,
Garrett Wilson ended up being disappointed. Uh, and they're wasting him.
He's he's so good and just getting nothing done with him.
And what was the There was a quote from the

(24:31):
running back earlier this year. What was his quote? Uh? Hall,
Reest Hall. He had a quote that was something funny.
What was it about this? Look it up? He had
a quote, I think it was after the third or
fourth game of the season, where he said something like, well,
I can't remember, there's a funny quote from uh uh
from him Broncos big win. I got the quote, what

(24:52):
is it?

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Because I knew what you were talking about is teams
shoot themselves in the foot, but then we come back
and shoot ourselves in the head.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
That's kind of a poetic but moose teams shoot theirselves
in the foot, we turned back around out and then
shoot ourselfs just a double check to make sure we're
not going any I think actually he could be a writer.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
Yeah, that is it's a really good quote.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers twenty three to nine winners
over the Browns. The Steelers are four and one. I
cannot stand Aaron Rodgers. I mean he might be my
least favorite. No, he is my least favorite athlete. I
don't want to say of all time, but certainly in
the last With that said, he had a couple of

(25:53):
throws today that looked like the old Aaron Rodgers, including
one into the back of the end zone for a
touchdown that I thought was vintage him at his best.
That's the one where he's rolling out.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Yes, yeah, I saw Twitter's go was going crazy during
the game with vintage Rogers and those clips. I would
have bet against him this season. I thought this is
gonna be an absolute joke. We're just gonna have to
watch him try to go out and play one more year.
But man, he can still do it.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
He's definitely old.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
I don't know if he's gonna get him back to
the level where they want him to be or want
them to take him, but everyone once in a while.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Like today, he just makes him throw he can do.
He's already better than I think I thought he'd be.
I thought they were gonna be a circus kind of
a joke. I did too. Then let's look at their
next Look at their next few games. They're four and one.
They go two Cincinnati, then they play the Packers at home,
Colts at home at Chargers. That's a tough run. Bengals

(26:46):
at home, then Bears Bills, but the Ravens. They play
the Ravens twice in the last five weeks. That doesn't
look as hard as it did earlier in the year
they played the Dolphins. I mean, it's there for them
to make the playoffs. If they can.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
If they can, you know, well, that division is so
bad that they should make the playoffs. It's a matter
if can they win a game when they get there.
They gave me against the Bingles Thursday night. That's a big
game in Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
I mean, if you're the Bengals and you want to
have a shot at winning division, you kind of have
to win that game, right Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
I just I know they're still hopeful. There's some life
in the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I think that it looked good today. Don't look yeah,
we mean, okay, well we'll get to him, don't Flacco
was not wacko. I want to talk about the Browns.
Dylan Gabriel he was was not good. If there are
like fifty something times, imagine, I mean, they don't hate

(27:40):
Felt more Shador He's just not gonna.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Get in right, No, No, I don't even I mean,
I guess they drafted him because at that point somebody
had to pick him up, but they don't have a
plan for him.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Which of these two statistics is more insane about the Browns?
First of all, eleven straight games without scoring seventeen points.
That's nuts. That reminds me of Kentucky or they're paying
eight quarterbacks this Sekon, I think that's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Also, just with their history when we did the show
that you would Billy filled in what was it forty
to forty one? People are now on the starting jersey
starting quarterbacks stick outs.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Yeah, different quarterbacks too. It's the Browns have been cursed
to that. So now the question is, can we name
between me and you all eight quarterbacks that they are
paid they're currently still paying? Yeah? Sure, all right, so
let's go. We've got uh, you got Dylan Gabriel and
Schador Sanders Huh correct? Flaccoh right, Yes, they're paying him

(28:46):
for they've paid him. Deshaun Watson Yep, that's four. Bailey Zappy,
that's correct, So she's still getting he's on the practice squad.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Oh, that's right.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
That's right. So that's five. Are they still paying New
Puntley Nope? Okay, than New York d A. W. Jamis.
Oh they're still paying Jamis two point two million this year. Wow,

(29:17):
they're paying Jamis. So that's six, but we still have
two more.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Who was it when it was so bad when they
rolled the dice onto Sean Walls?

Speaker 3 (29:29):
No?

Speaker 1 (29:29):
No, are they paying the kid from U C. L. A. Thompson.
That's in uh with the Raiders. Dorian Thompson Robinson. Okay,
so they're still paying him. I got the other one picket.
That's it. That's what I was trying to That's pretty good.
We got all light. That's I can't believe they're still
paying the Dorian Thompson Robinson. I can't believe they're paying

(29:49):
half the names. Should just sit Wow in between all
of those, No one's good. Yeah, how those guys are
even still throwing a football. Well, they're all in the
league somewhere, but they're not throwing footballs. They have eight guys,
and not one of them is good. That's god.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
I know it's an NFL franchise and this is kind
of normal, not to this point, but it's got a
hurt in accounting right in these checks, send these checks.
These guys that are yeah, their careers are pretty much over.
They did nothing for you, and you're still just paying them.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
But you know, the Reds in baseball last year was
the last year they were still paying Kim Griffy Junior
at least that was. You're right, you're writing it to
King Griffrey Junior. You're writing at check to Kenny Pickett.
But isn't that a crazy staff that they were paying.
I think it was like two years ago, King Griffy

(30:41):
Junior was the third highest paid player on the roster.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Just old gray haired sitting at home, still getting money.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Any and everyone else was like there were twenty three
guys being paid less than King Griffy Junior. Let's go
to Miami. The Chargers beat the Dolphins. Dolphins with it
got the lead late, but then the Chargers justin Herbert
makes a h last minute drive, had a couple of

(31:08):
great throws on the drive to get him in field
goal range than Dick or the kicker, uh makes the kick.
Just Nurmber with a great drive. That's nice, But really
the story's of Dolphins, which is more interesting to you.
Tua's comments after the game, which were pretty tone deaf
and clueless, or Mike me, Daniel's pants that he was

(31:30):
wearing that were hiked up to his knees, the jogger pants.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Just let's do the pants he wears the Caprice right,
I didn't see today's pair, but yeah, he does it
every week.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
He does. He takes like when I'm wearing but then
he like he jacks it up to like right there
and then walks around. What do you think of that
as a look for an NFL coach. I'm not a fan.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I even today saw people doing that at the airport,
where was like pulled up and whatever work you want
to wear, especially the airport. But it just it just
seems unnecessary. Just just most pants ball.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, I mean there is a sense that it's a
it's a it's a sport full of tea. Yeah, And
that feels like a low te thing.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Like their capri pants or it's like he's pulling them
up intentionally if they were designed that way. All right,
you got a weird pair of pants. Maybe your Taylor
is just really bad at.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Getting your ins. Englyn though, did the same thing that
it's weird. I don't need my coaches to, you know,
look all professional over there. But it does feel a
little But it also means that, uh, as of this moment,
the capri pants coaches are one and eleven. That should
tell them enough. I feel like that says maybe you
shouldn't do it.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah, the the NFL grade coaches of all time. Any
I'm wearing the capri pants.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
That's true. Who could you see in capri pants less.
I think I don't actually Jordan ask him to wear
I can see Jordan's saying, you need to update your
resume entry with that hat wearing the cafre Kans pants.
He's fun. He's same with Vince Lombardi. I would like that,

(33:05):
so I have the game to A said that they
had players only meetings this week and that some players
didn't come and the others were very late. That's not
a good sign, is it. No? I probably would have
just not mentioned the meeting at all. He also said
the leaders on this team are gonna have to step up.

(33:27):
Presumably he would be one of those.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
When you tell him, tyree, he literally can't step up.
He's on crutches, So throw him out. Yeahs of this team?
Who else is it gonna be? Usually leadership of a team.
You can look straight at the quarterback. Start there again,
check the box that's to here. They're just a complete mess.
I don't even know what you do. There was no
one at that game. Did you see the crowd?

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I didn't see the crowd, and then there was no one.
I mean, part of it is you're playing the Chargers,
who themselves have no fans. But there was no one
at the game, it was it was empty. And they
also said, you remember it was in the preseason that
they said tardiness was the issue last year. All right,
So clearly that people just will not be on time,

(34:13):
don't you have to get rid of Mike McDaniel, Like
this comes out hopefully Monday morning, I would assume Mike
McDaniel's gone very soon after, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
I mean the caprias are one thing that's funny, but
like his bit of where he acts like he's like
just a teenager that sits in his room and plays
video games on they're losing. Yeah, when your players are
are not showing up and there doesn't seem to be
a lot of discipline in that little gimmick where stand
real quick?

Speaker 1 (34:39):
I think I saw that he has only only like
two or three wins against teams with winning records. It's
like it's an amazingly small number for a guy in
his third year as a head coach. So anyway, he
doesn't have much left. Yeah, I mean, I would think
there's a chance when you listen to this, he might
be gone. All right. Patriots beat the Saints. Saints once again,

(35:03):
surprisingly spry and competitive, but Drake May, what was the
stat you said, Billy, you had a stat about him?
Some historic Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:11):
So Drake May joins Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, and Dan
Marino as the only quarterbacks age twenty three or younger
with two hundred plus passing yards and one hundred plus
passer rating in five consecutive games.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Patriots are four and two. That's a lot of words,
but it sounds impressive. Are you I mean? I said
last week that Drake May that was the coming out party.
Are you in on Drake May? Like completely? Are you
ready to say top level quarterback? I am not like
superstar level, but definitely a guy that you know.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
If I'm a Patriots fan, I'm excited to have Drake
May on my team. He's I don't know the exact
number he had him, hadn't had many turnovers this year.
Vrabel's got them playing a fun brand of football.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
I like Drake May. I have the weird Luke May.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Connection from the North Carolina days that still makes me
a little uncomfortable. But Drake May does look like to
be the future, and they're in good hands.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
And they have a lot of winnable games on their schedule.
I mean they play here's the next few weeks, Titans, Browns, Falcons, Bucks, Jets, Bengals, Giants,
Bill's Ravens, Jets, Dolphins. I mean that is a really
easy That is a very easy schedule. They have a

(36:25):
chance to be something like you know, thirteen and four,
twelve and five, something like that.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
And you mentioned it next week. Very able going back
to Nashville where they booted them out. You know they're
gonna win that one easily.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yeah. I don't know how good they actually are because
the Saints could have won this game. The Saints were
pretty competitive in this game throughout. They had the ball
at the end with a chance to make a drive.
There's nothing that scares you less than Spencer Rattler has
the ball with a chance to drive down the field.
I had the world's strongest man, Mark Henry as my

(37:02):
celebrity guest picking on Yes Domination, and we were in
a short timeframe. So I had said to Mark, listen,
you can't like on these games. You just gonna to
do like a sentence on each game. He did, except
when it came time to pick Patriot Saints. He had
a good thirty second rant about how bad Spencer Rattler

(37:23):
was It was like I touched a nerve with Mark Henry.
He's like, I'm going to get out my Spencer Rattler tape.
No matter what you say, even.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Though Spencer Rattler until today was on a one game
win streak in his career.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
No, he was like, I watched Spencer Ratler playing college.
He was bad then, he's bad now. I was like,
all right, Mark, it's okay to give Spencer and the
Saints a little bit of credit. They were competitive.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
They were competitive today against a very good team. They
beat the Giants a week ago, and you know they
never were going to beat Buffalo, but what was that spread?
Like seventeen and a half. They played Buffalo close to
the fourth quarter, so you know they don't You're not
gonna make the playoffs with moral victories, but they haven't
been absolutely trash in the last three weeks.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
The Rams beat the Ravens seventeen to three. The less
said about this game, the better. If you I think
the Broncos Jets, I thought it was the worst game
I've ever seen, and then I remember that the Rams
Ravens red zone only showed forty five seconds of this game.
It was terrible. I didn't get to watch the first
half on when I'm missing Well.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
When I finally pulled it up on my phone, it
was three to three at half time. And I don't
even care to even know anything else about this game.
If it's three to three at halftime, when two teams
that were supposed to be Super.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Bowl contenders are playing each other, that's a Brady on
this game. This was a big game. I mean, this
was the Brady game. I mean, just with the logos.
This is a huge game. And they bingched Cooper Rush
for Snoop Huntley. I don't know, I don't know who
that's worse for. If you Cooper Rush, you gotta be like,

(38:56):
I mean, I get it when they put dak In
back in, but Snoop Snoop.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
He had Derrick Henry today and couldn't even score points.
Dereck Henry finally had a big game after doing nothing
the less. We Yeah, the ends are the biggest shock
in the league this year for the Rams.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
To to win by fourteen and still be like, yeah,
we stunk. That's that's a that's a bad game. That
was the last set about that the better Colts and
Cardinals have for was actually a great game, but Colts
win thirty one twenty seven. But there's only one thing
that matters about this game, which is the pregame injuries.
I know the Colts are five and one, but they

(39:33):
had two players get hurt during warm ups, seriously hurt.
Scary Anthony Richardson with an orbital fracture. He was apparently
using one of those bands that you used to stretch
and it snapped and hit him in the eye and
broke his face. Crazy almost how has that happened? I mean,

(39:55):
I don't want to I don't want to make fun of him,
because that's that's not but it feels like something I
would have done, Like normally you would think the per
and it does that not the most coordinated person in
the world right probably out my quarterback, second quarterback? How
does that happen? You know? It was one of those

(40:16):
things where he looked around like I hope that wasn't
on camera. Yeah, he immediately looks he snapped himself in
the face, That's what he did, and then he was
out to go to the hospital. The other one where
he had to go to the hospital.

Speaker 7 (40:30):
Orbital fracture, What does that mean? It's I guess what
you're like your cheek, Well, I think it's your eye
and just the bones fractured. So it was the bones. Okay,
so he broke his face, yeah, more or less. God,
just warm it up.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
He must have really been stretching though, Like I can't
pull those bands far enough that it would do that.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
He probably had this, I would have gone down a band.
I forget the color. What the order is? Green and yellow?

Speaker 1 (40:57):
You should have done one more, one less and then
to various ward and another player and this video is crazy.
Are both running routes and don't see each other and
just knock each other out, like no helmets on. That
was scary, especially wore the cornerback.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
I mean he just goes motionless on the ground there alcohol,
I don't know. I mean, you know they're in their
different kind of stations doing different drills.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
And just warming up.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Just watch it, yeah, or you know if I guess
he's kind of looking back a little bit. Just just a
fluke thing to happen. But yeah, they're too close together.
Somebody should have hit him with like hey, hey, hey hey,
but I guess it happened so fast.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
You know, you if you're the colds. You get one
bad injury during warm ups, do you just look gard guys,
let's take it in. Yeah, if we're not.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Even hitting each other yet, I mean, we have a
guy at the hospital and one how cold?

Speaker 1 (41:50):
You have two in the course of apparently they happened
within like eight minutes of each other.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Oh no, well, I guess I had to have been
just on the field warming up before the game. Yeah,
you just pack it in at that point, I think
you do.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
And then they still won the game. It was actually
a very competitive game. Cardinals played at Toby Brissette. I
feel like every time Jacoby Brissette plays, he's better than
a lot of quarterbacks that play right back up to have. Yeah,
but I would think if you're like the Saints or
the Jets, why is he not on your team? I

(42:21):
feel like every time he plays last year, he cost
or he cost the Patriots that one year the first
pick in the draft, right because he he win won
the final game. I don't know why he doesn't get
to play more.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Yeah, we mentioned teams that need to go out and
find a new quarterback. We've wondered, should someone calls Shader?
I mean, that's a name I would certainly consider. I mean,
he's been bouncing around a lot. He's got to be
getting old. I feel like he's been in this league.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
He's been around for long because he played for the
Colts and the Patriots twice. Helucks back up with the
Colts and then he was the Patriots. He was Brady's
back up a little bit. He was a dolphin at
one point. He was a dolphin. Well now he's now
he's with the Cardinals. Do you believe in the Colts?

Speaker 2 (43:05):
Says I do as a contender, Yeah, I hate the coat.
It's just it's been like every week they just look
too good. They've had plenty of opportunities to fall off.
They've had tough games. I think we've even said, all right,
this is the week the Colts come back down to earth,
and they just but you're willing to say, I'm saying contender.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
This strong statement. I don't know if I'm there yet.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
They rolled in there like the AFC teams right around.
I'm ready to think, all right, this is the one.
Then they go out and lay an egg, and I
think the AFC is a.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Little more open than we thought it was going to
be a few weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (43:36):
You're probably right.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
Now, most random statistic maybe in football. Seahawks beat the
Jaguars twenty to twelve. The Seahawks have won nine straight
road games. They got to get rid of the twelth
man then at home, but yes, they so. I mean,
I don't know what their home record is. But if

(44:11):
I had told you there's a team in the NFL
that's won nine straight road games, you would have guessed
fifteen teams before you guess the Seahawks, wouldn't you.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Yeah, I mean, for one, I wouldn't think anyone would
be capable of doing that. But it would have to
be Bill's Chiefs. Yeah, you'd the big dogs. No, that's crazy.
We hed get it in Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (44:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Liam Cohen said that the dysfunction today was unacceptable, But
he didn't use the word dysfunction, which isn't it you
the leader that would cause the dysfunction. He didn't say execution,
he said dysfunction. What did he say?

Speaker 2 (44:47):
It was his tone kind of like calling himself out
or players are way, because that is calling.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
Out the overall the whole operation. I didn't feel like
he was putting it on the players. I mean, I
think he was putting it kind of on every on everybody.
Travis Hunter had a huge drop in this game, Like
there was a big play. You know, they haven't gone
to him a lot. There's a big play. It was
right in his hands and he drops it and they
end up having a punt and then I don't even

(45:13):
know if they got the ball back after that. That
was big. You know, you keep whiting. He's had a
couple of moments. He had a couple of moment against
the Chiefs last week, but still probably not worthy of
what we've seen as a second pick.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
And right when I was ready to crown Jacksonville as
a team to watch, this is a game I thought
they'd win.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
If you'd be good, you gotta win this yees, especially
at home. I didn't know about the h S trade wins.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
For the Seahawks going into this game on the road,
but I still was disappointed jackson didn't get done.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
I thought they'd win this one.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
Titans, man, it's it's really I was in the airport
today at that sports bar. Mentioned the table next to
me they were into the NFL. They had their computers
out doing like fantasy whatever in an airport bar.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
I hate those people. By the way, I did too.
I almost ask them, if you were your computer out
in your fantasy team, you're a door and not even
like at home on your cat, like you're at an airport,
you're somewhere. Yeah, if you're at home and you check
your that's fine. Check it on your phone, that's fine.
But if you pull out a computer in a public
space to check your fantasy team, you're a dork and

(46:14):
you you need to be. I would have I would
have yelled at him.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
I know my team's bad. I still love him. I'm
the only one allowed to make fun of him.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
Are they gonna win the game this year?

Speaker 2 (46:23):
I know they won just a week or two ago.
That's the only reason they won. That is because they're
so bad at tanking. They had to get a win
somewhere because they can't even tank right, just get to
the number one pick.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
They're awful. I liked Ward for about three weeks. Today
he was.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
Objected done with I'm not done with him, but like
I was excited about him, he looked horrible, horrible.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
I know he doesn't have any help.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
I'm not saying he won't become something on down the road,
but I'm not even excited to watch him have like
two good hohays.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
More depressing Tennessee Titans football Kentucky football.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
See, that's just you just named my weekends in the fall.
They're both so depressing. I'm gonna say the Titans I
think they are because this this team is bad and
Callahan's awful. But their draft picks going back the last
six seven.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
Years and there's no trans I know, we've the GM
has changed three times the last few years. It is
just a whole operation is embarrassing. James Franklin got fired.
Should the Titans coach have followed him out the door? Yes?
Game day? Was it Oregon?

Speaker 2 (47:28):
It's the sun's not even up yet, it so early
in the morning. And right behind the game day set
there's a fire Brian Callahan sign at the Oregon game.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
So it's made its way to college football Saturdays. Since
you brought up game day, Billy pat Mac is forty
years old, right, Yeah? Why is he always taking his
shirt off? Well, they got it. Why is everybody taking
their shirt off? They got Who's who's asking for that?
Who's the person that says I would like I would

(47:58):
like the shirts off? Well, I don't think the shirt
is the specific ask. But there's a void now that
Lee Corso's gone. I'm fine with the like, I'm fine
with all that he can do, all that that gets,
But why the shirt off? Like Dan Lanning took his
shirt off too. Did you see that at six point
thirty morning or whatever?

Speaker 2 (48:17):
Yeah, and then Thursday night football Rochards Patrick takes his
shirt off.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
That one's a little better because it's dead body exactly.
If you're gonna take your shirt off, pack, If you're
gonna take your shirt off, be fat, that big chest,
Harry Ropp. If it's fun. But McAfee's in just good
enough shape, then it seems like he's like bragging by
doing it, you know what I mean? Like, if Jason

(48:41):
Kelsey wants to take your shirt off, I'm good with it,
right that three hundred and sixty pound lineman for Alabama
take your shirt off? But what McAfee, what is that?
Why can't he just go that's fine? Why can't he
just do that? You know, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (49:02):
Is it a manly thing to take your shirt off?
You know it's on, we're here, ready to go, but you're.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
Doing a broadcast like at the of set previate a game.
I want you to think about what twenty years ago like,
imagine you were watching the news and Tom Brokaw just
took his shirt. Oh, that would have been awesome. I
think we would have loved that. But even in sports, right,
Brent Mussburger, you are looking live. You're looking live at

(49:30):
my nipples. I think more shows than you.

Speaker 2 (49:37):
KNW Coo rad this your broke all image that's now
burning my head right now.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Keith Morrison on Dayline, let's just rip that shirt in
Madden for it. I think Madden would have been great
doing it. Tom Brady, No, Tom Brady, we don't need it.
You're too good looking.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
What about Chris Collinsworth, because we're one Pat Mahomes two
yard runaway from that hit.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
His shirts off during the game. Now they make him.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
Put it on before they cut them. Booth shot, we're
going live to Chris put the shirt on.

Speaker 1 (50:09):
Porto Rico, please get your quarter zip on for just
a minute. Anyway, I don't know how I got off
on that Cowboys losing Carolina to the Panthers thirty to
twenty seven. Rico Dowdell, you may remember last week he
said they're gonna remember my name. Jerry Jones was asked

(50:32):
before the game about that comment. He said, he did
one of the.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
Wooo.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
He was like, oooh, what players can't even come out there? Kay,
well they did remember his name. Two hundred and thirty
six yards, threw in thirty nine yards from scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Yeah, he absolutely lit them up. Is his first year
not being a Cowboy. He was there four or five years.
I'm a Cowboys guy, but I was pretty happy for
Dalla to call a shot. Yes, I didn't think the
Panthers could actually win this one, but it was a
good moment for him.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
He said, two huge weeks back to back.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Had the door opened. That gave him a chance last week,
and he ran through that door and has made the
most of it. Jerry Jones did, like Bill Murray and Kingpin. Yeah,
well he put it in their face. Panthers are three
and three. Bryce Young, like, I mean, are they something?
I mean, they say you're not. I'm not ready to

(51:30):
call Bryce Young anything, but the Panthers three and three?
Oh no, yeah, I mean the winds was it Dolphins
last week? I think Yeah, I'm not trying to downplay
it too much. They had so let me give you
the head get thirty zero.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
Shutout of the Falcons. But he started all this way.
The Jets next week, Okay, that's a win four and three.
Then they got the Bills and the Packers. But then
after that Saints Falcons forty nine Ers Rams Saints.

Speaker 2 (51:55):
You know, Okay, they'll they'll win, they'll beat the Jet
a few more games.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
Yeah, they'll probably get brought to earth when the Bills
come to tennis. Yeah, I mean they're not winning there.

Speaker 4 (52:06):
I don't know they're gonna.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Get a wild card spot. But still nice still to
see him be not as sad.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Yeah, they're turning the corner. I don't know if Bryce
Young's a big part of them turning the corner. But
Ricodoudo the last two weeks has been a big.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Part about the Cowboys. You know, they're they're having a
magical year from Dak and still they're what two two
and one or whatever?

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Yeah, two and two and three. The defense can't stop anybody.
It's the deck yere Cowboys fans won in forever ago
and he's finally giving it to them, and they're they're
just they're.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
Awful, but they've got I mean, they shouldn't be Pickens
set trade was great for Pickens. Pickens he's been awesome.
Dak looks good. But their defense they just they don't
have it. Russell Wilson, I don't. I think it was
like forty one points, forty five points. When you when
you let Russell Wilson take the Giants into the forties
on you, your defense has big holes. We'll finished with the

(53:00):
pack Packers win against the Bengals twenty seven to eighteen.
Bengals looked awful in the first half as Flacco was
learning the playbook, but then by the second half they
had a pulse. You think they I mean, you know
they're two and four. That's about what they are every
year at this time. Can Flacco get some wins until

(53:21):
you can get Burrow by the end of the year,
you got just do dying. I mean, I thought second
half Flaco played well. I was so in on Joe
Flacco today watching him.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
I wanted him to beat the Packers twice in one
season with the Bengals and Browns. He's almost do it
fifty something times today. I didn't expect that. But if
you told me Joe Flacco had two touchdowns, no interceptions,
and uh, you know two hundred some yards in that
debut game after stopping at the flea market on his
way down from Cleveland. Then yeah, I would take that
as a Bengals fan. I don't know that that's going
to turn into much for the year, but they made

(53:51):
the right move moving on from Brown Claire.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Jamar Chase likes him more. Yeah, I mean it's clear
he likes uh likes him. I you know, we have
to get used to the fact that we now work
with the NFL. You can see these logos behind this.
So sometimes I'm like, are there things in life that
I say? Can I say them now? Because I used

(54:14):
to be my standard was can I say this in
front of my mom? But I know my mom doesn't
know what everything means. Now I have to sit and think,
can I say this in front of Jerry Jones and
Rodrigodell and Roger Goodell who's watching? So I don't think
I can read what Jamar Chase said about the game
next week to the Steelers. Do you think I can

(54:37):
just say what he said? Yeah? Probably not to be
recorded here on a pint. You don't think you don't
think I can say this? But this was his quote.

Speaker 5 (54:45):
It was saying it might get bleeped like the Titans
famous catchphrase that we say so often.

Speaker 1 (54:51):
Oh it gets bleeped. O that gets bleeped. If stop
saying it so much. He said it in an NFL conference. Well,
Jamar Chase said this today too. Well, we'll just leave it.
I'll I will, I'll pay a phrase. They would like
to beat us next week. I remember some some terms

(55:12):
in there, a lot of liberties. I'm just that's a
paraphrase of what he said.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
I remember a few other lives in there. Well, you could,
let's just say he's excited for the for the game.
You could look it up.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
McPherson, the Bengals kicker, he had a sixty seven yarder
at the end of the first half. He kicked it,
it hit the goal post and went through all time
NFL record, longest kick in the history of the league.
But the Packers had called time out right before he

(55:43):
kicked it. He didn't missed it the second time. Do
you think they should be allowed to call the time
out right before the kick?

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Yeah, I mean it sticks for Evan McPherson that he
had a record taken away. But if you're a Packers
fan or Lafleur who called it. I mean, you got
to be patting yourself on the back, like, yeah that nail.
That icing him right there?

Speaker 1 (56:02):
As a fan, do you? I mean, like you don't
want to see that? Do you?

Speaker 4 (56:06):
Of the game?

Speaker 1 (56:06):
If you're a Packers fan, you probably loved it when
that happened. Well, now the Packers kicker, he if I
can say his name right, Lucas have have written written
his risk. We'll just call him Lucas Lucas. Uh. He
was signed this week to kick. They were asking him
what he was doing before, and he's like been signed

(56:29):
by like four teams but not gotten to kick. Today
he got to kick, and he said if they hadn't
signed me, I was probably just gonna substitute teach. Wow,
I root for that guy. Yeah right.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
Also, of all things you do, like I'm gonna substitute,
is there any profession you get less respect than a
substitute teacher?

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Like, if I've tried to think about, what are the
jobs that on a day to day basis, people treat
you the worst? I know number one, but I think
substitute teaching has to be in the top five, especially
if if you're doing high school now little kids. See.
I had a lot of substitute teachers.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
They would walk in, they would turn on a movie
and they would sit down and not say a word,
and we loved them.

Speaker 1 (57:16):
We knew if we had mister Gilbert, he would come in.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
He would fall asleep at the desks, so we would
get away with whatever we wanted. He was out cold,
cool Runnings was on the TV, and we're all goofing
off in the class. So I think some substitute teachers
don't fall into this.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
I saw a substitute gym teacher at Middlesbrough High School
write Enick Cuff. He wrote forty three detentions for him
in one class. Stuff. He just kept writing it because
he would go, if you speak, if you say anything again, Enich,
I'll write it, and he'd write it, and then he
said anything, and then he just kept doing it. And

(57:53):
he walked and I was working in the office. He
walked and handed forty three detentions. That's nuts. Now imagine
that guy and the principal was like, I mean, I
can't do forty three. The real teacher comes back and
throws those Yeah, maybe one maybe, but.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Imagine that guy then going and kicking for the packers,
because that's kind of what this guy did. He could
have been writing detentions, but instead he's in Lambeau Blastomfield goals.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
Profession where you get the most hate, without question, has
to be the person that's working where people complain about
lost baggage at the airport. I was going to say,
the gate agent at an airport lost baggage. Lost baggage
has to be the worst because no one's coming to
the at least with the gate agent. There'll be people
who are like, oh, have a nice day, and they'll

(58:40):
scan their ticket, good luck, thank you for heading to Disney.
When you work in the luggage thing, no one's coming
to you happy, no one. There's no reason to talk
to those people unless you're mad, and you the luggage
person had nothing to do with it.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
They're just sitting in a chair, their hands were completely free.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
Of all this. And if they don't know where your baggage,
you're mad at them. Oh yeah, and you're.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Telling them to find it and they're telling you I
don't have a damn way of finding it right.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Now a lot. I just have this computer screen. What
do you want from me?

Speaker 2 (59:12):
All I can promise you is it'll show up at
your house in a van in the next forty eight hours.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Can I throw in Little League umpire or aau Ref?
Aau Ref would be back. Little League umpireds little kids.
Probably most of the time, it's okay, aau Ref's gotta
be back because nobody says the aau ref man. Great job.
You really called a good one today. All those parents traveling, Yeah,

(59:37):
au Ref, I like that one that you got one.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
Drew, well, we both had the same thought on the
airport gate agent. I'm trying to think of someone you
call and complain, anyone that's just taking the phone calls.

Speaker 1 (59:51):
Yeah, we're angry. So those those are the games. Let's
look at some of our leagues here. Drew's already have
the Survivor league. Billy and I are still in it.
I had the Packers, they won, although you know it
wasn't easy. You Billy had the Colts. You were in
a close one a lot of the day. But you
and I both continue to move on for another week. Yes,

(01:00:13):
exciting in our two man race. But for people who
don't know, last year we did a fifty person race
and the two finalists were Billy and former number one
pick Tim Couch and it was a celebrity league, fifty
celebrities and Billy forty nine celebrities and Billy, and Billy

(01:00:35):
was one of the last two people left. And in
our three person league here, Billy is again one of
the last two people left. Pro So you're pretty good
at the survivoral. I'll see if I can finish the
job this time. Okay. In our touchdown league, Drew had
Sakwon Barkley, he did not score a touchdown. You had
DeVante Adams, no touchdown, touchdown. I had Daniel Jones who

(01:00:56):
did score a touchdown. So I got a point. Now
Billy has two, I have two, Andrew you have one.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
I need to get some wins here, you know, not
in the Survivor league thing is already well, it's it's
it's not that I've heard that someone else is gonna win.
It said.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
I just have to sit here awkwardly while you all
talk about it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
I'm like, I just feel like I'm not even a
part of the show during that segment.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Yeah, now that is a problem. It's fun. Survivor leagues
are fun. Like we already have to sit and think,
what are we going to do next week? Drew doesn't
right back. You guys talk about your league. Yeah too.
Let's talk real quick about the Thursday night and the
Monday night games Eagles lose to the Giants. Are you
on the scatter Bow train him? Love him?

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
I was already on this train really before even got
drafted by the Giants. I liked watching him in college.
But now that he's doing the NFL the same stuff,
blocking an offensive lineman or defensive lineman. Pancake and them
that we mentioned it several times, how he just keeps
getting dirty when they're playing on turf.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
I don't understand it, but he's just so fun.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
He's an old school football player that you don't see
very much anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
Yeah, he and Jackson Dart a lot of excitement in
New York City. Neither of them kind of feel New
York in there, but the city seems to love them,
and they've been They've added some fun.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I thought that when they did their interview on the field,
it's just the two of them, and I'm kind of
thinking like, this is the face of the Giants, these
two dudes that when they got drafted, both of them
had concerns of like, well, these guys even pan out
at all. Now Giants fans love them both.

Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
You think Dave Ball should be get in trouble for
trying to storm in the tenth there. I didn't see
that part. You have to catch me. So Jackson Dark
got put in the injury tenth. They were checking him
for a concussion and it was a big fourth down
and Dave All wanted him to play. Well then just
we kind of walked in, like get him out of here,
we need him. He later apologized and said that he

(01:02:49):
screwed that up. Coaches in the moment. This has happened before.
You know, there's the concussion protocol and you get to test.
There's been clips in the past of coaches that are like,
let's speed up this protocol, get them back out there,
but let's check on their heads and make sure they're
pretty good. You can't really do that anymore. Which if
you look like he suck his head in the tent,
like hey, now, yeah, it's like helping him with the test.

(01:03:12):
He passes it. Yeah, but they still won the game.
All right, Monday night football. This is we're taping this
late on Sunday night. So we got the bills at
the Falcons. I take the view. Don't ever bet on
a Falcons game one way or the other. But I'm
big on the Bills here. They're not losing two in
a row. Mean too, this is a low spread. I'm
not taking it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
Yeah, three and a half. I'm gonna hammer that one.
Bills shouldn't have lost last week. They'll bounce back and.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Win big here. Yeah, I think they and I would
think a lot of Bills fans will make the trip
to that game. And then the big one is Bear's Commanders.
He is a huge game for Caleb Williams. So you
I mean, in terms of it was last year that
the Hail Mary flipped. It really flipped the Bears season.
Also kind of launched Jayden Daniels into the conversation as

(01:03:59):
one of the great players, certainly the best rookie last year.
Now you flip it. Now you're playing there, chance to
get it back. I think it's a big game for them,
and what y'all have won two in a row? They
have yet, Yeah, there's some optimism. You go win a
primetime game like this with all things you just said,
and you can really think that maybe Caleb Williams and
the Bears are on the right track here. Well, that

(01:04:19):
looks a quarterback would be a great win. I have
so many quarterbacks in that class, and they're starting to
kind of get into tears right like, so Jayde Daniels
and Drake May feel pretty good. JJ McCarthy, Michael Pennix.
I don't know that you can say one way or
the other. Bow Nicks has been solid, but you really
don't know where to put Caleb Williams yet, Like it's

(01:04:41):
not really clear which group he's in. This would be
a good chance to say I should be in that
top group definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
And you know, I can't speak for your fan base,
but it seems like the last couple of weeks there's
been a little more belief in him.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
A lot of the bus talk has evaporated for a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
So if you go win a Monday night football game
and if he plays well, that'll I think it'll be
I don't know if it'll move him up a tier
or not, but it'll answer some questions.

Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
Yeah, I think this would be if if he can
if he can play well, you know, I feel good
that that May and and Daniels are going to be good. Nick.
I still don't know. I'm kind of got Caleb there.
I want to put him in that, in that in
that top group. So there you go. Next week. Do

(01:05:25):
we have another London game next week? How many London
games are left?

Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
There?

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
A lot this year? Are they playing them? Are they
playing them every week? Billy?

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Uh? There is one at Wembley Stadium in London.

Speaker 5 (01:05:36):
Rams uh and Jacksonville big.

Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
They love the Jags over though they are both teams
are foreign too. Yeah, on paper, that doesn't sound like
a good game, but that might be the best game
they get over there this year.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Right, I'd say, if if London had a team, it's
the Jaguars. So this is this is their big game here,
the Jaguars, big game for them.

Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
I wasn't gonna attempt that. But yeah, well, thank you
folks very much. Nice to have you back. Yeah from
the wedding if you're if you congratulations to Michael and Becca.
