Speaker 1 (00:06):
NFL Covers Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin is
a production of the NFL and iHeart podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
All Right.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Week fifteen NFL Cover zero Matt Jones and Drew Franklin.
Big shout out to Billy and Drew for filling in
for me the last couple shows that I had to
miss due to family health situation. But glad to be
here today. It was exciting week of games and now
(00:42):
we get into the week fifteen. This is where you
start to get the finales of who's going to make
the playoffs and who's not. And Drew, I'm glad you're
wearing that hat because that way everybody knows what letter
your name starts with.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Thank you to actually stand for dad. It's a dad hat.
So shut up a minute.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
That's a dad hat. It just has a D on it.
How am I.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Supposed to know that? It's like a secret club all in,
there's other things here. It says, if you know, you know, because.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
There's other things that start with a D.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
A lot of people think it's a Dallas Cowboys hat. Honestly,
it looks like that.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
It's just like one word.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Probably my first name would be the best there are others. Yeah,
but so that's for that correct. Okay, I'm interesting from
my dad. Era came straight from an appointment straight here,
So people don't have my dad. You're pregnant. I am pregnant.
I am enjoying the pregnancy cravings. I joke with my wife,
but I am eating is more unhealthy than I've ever eaten.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
You get to do that, well, I don't know if.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
I'm allowed to, but I'm doing it. So even like
last night, I got out of bed, went downstairs and
I ate ice cream. When I was like, it's pregnancy craving.
Just let me. Let me be pregnant. So I'm enjoying
the rule. So you Kraft mac and Cheese for a girl? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Right? Do we know the name yet?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
We don't. We have some some in mind. We have
like a top five, but not ready to commit to
any That's that's much harder than I ever imagine. I
have an idea. Okay, do you Martina Martina bar team Bartina? Okay,
why are we going with Bartina?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Just came to me.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It's not on the list.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I think it's unique. Okay, all right, people will be
like Martina, you go no, Martina Okay, as you met
didn't you meet Abby at a bar?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Well? I did meet her at a bar, and you
were broke up with a little girl named Tina. I mean,
it's right there in front of me. I can't believe
that's not on the list already.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
I think, I think that makes perfect, perfect sense.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Mario's on the list.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
How are you going to decide? Though? It's tough.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Honestly, I knew that would be on the list, but
now that it's Martina, like something I had to do, yes,
just like buying a crib. I knew got to come
up with a name. But when you get down to it,
this is someone's life, like they have to school.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Does that scare you at all? Like this is gonna
be like this little thing of flesh and organs and
you're in charge and you can't really do anything.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Well, I'm I'm I'm pretty I'm pretty confident in that part.
I think you are your baby. Again, we'll say, naming
someone else and not having to deal with the consequences.
I kind of feel like babies should be able to
name themselves, see, because I have a good idea. But
then I'm like, well, she might hate it, and she
will have to live with it. Yeah, I think you're
looking at this throng. I think actually rearing the child's
(03:23):
going to be harder than the name. I mean, you
could pick a name. Obviously, you could just.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Call her Sarah and it's gonna be fine. Like you
could you, I wouldn't worry unless you go with Bartina.
I'm just saying that could hurt her.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
And I thought all the things you're thinking till you're
in the moment of deciding, and then you're playing in
your head. She's going to be in a job interview
at whatever age, and they're gonna address her as this,
and she's gonna have no saying what that name is.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
I have to let's do this. Let's play a game.
I want you to google Billy baby girl Nates.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I done this for four months, and I just want
you to just look at a list and read me
every third one until we have five names, and we're
going to act like it has to be one of them.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Okay, I'll go.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Through the So what is the third name? Olivia? Olivia?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I could have told you that's number one on every
list here, getting ready, there's gonna be so they're already
your bunch, But get ready, Olivia's are going to be
a tribe.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
A question the other night at the bar. It is
the most it's the most popular name in twenty twenty five?
Is Olivia? All right?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Go twenty twenty four and maybe twenty twenty three. Get ready,
Olivia's are going to own the earth soon.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Okay, Charlotte Charlotte? All right? What's the third?
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Isabella?
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Isabella? What's the fourth?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Sophia?
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Sophia? All right? In fifth? Barbara Barbara? Okay, so we
have bar we have Olivia, Charlotte, Isabella, Sophia and Barbara.
You can only name your child one of these fun
That's the rule, not in real life, but in our
faith world. Which one are you naming?
Speaker 3 (04:53):
First of all, thank you all. This is what I
do when I go home. So my my distraction here
of talking football. Thank you for bringing this game back
into my life. I do like the name Olivia, but seriously,
there's two. Every list in the world has Olivia umber
one every year. There's gonna be too many to live.
It's gonna throw that out. This is honestly the first time,
and I feel bad not having an abby here to
hear me say this. This first time I've considered Barb. Barb,
(05:16):
Barb moved the noodle. You wouldn't really name your kid Barbara.
I don't believe her names are in what the older
names that you thought were Call your baby Barb.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
She comes out smoking a cigarette and she works as
a waitress at a truck stop.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
She'd love Billy suitcase from Buffalom. You can't be like, hey, Barb,
your tired. So Olivia, Charlotte, Isabella, Sophia. First of all,
I can't be Isabella because that's cultural appropriation. Yeah, would
you either Sophia, Charlotte or Olivia.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Well, when you said Charlotte, my brain immediately went if
I had one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Things, think about that, you name him Charlotte, Panthers fan, Carolina,
Mike Godfather. I see no problem with any of this.
Favorite band can be good. Charlotte is also up.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I can tell her about male mix, how it used
to be a thing, and then you can tell her.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
You can say your namesake is the banking capital of
the and NASCAR or of the South. Maybe not so so.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Charlotte is to check something off the list. Now I
can go build a nursery.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Charlotte Franklin, Go buy shar Charlotte Bartina Franklin. We will
welcome to this earth.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Charbar Oh, I like this ab. He's gonna be so excited.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
He's gonna be excited about Sharbar some I'm gonna call
your kid no matter what you name it. People don't
like when I say it for baby. They think I
should say her, right, but I can't say it. It's
still like this. It's not a real thing yet. I
guess it is.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
I have pictures that hero otherwise, but I'm with you.
I understand, but it can't talk to me, so I don't.
I don't consider it really well. Charbar will talk to
you soon. Me and she listens to covers of your friends.
All right, so we get started.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I think the thing I wanted to start with was
the Chiefs are are dead. So the dynasty, and it
is a pretty amazing dynasty set In last seven years,
Chiefs have made the AFC Championship Game every single year.
They've won three Super Bowls, they've lost two Super Bowls,
and they've been to the AFC Championship twice. Pretty astounding run.
(07:29):
I mean, if you're looking at long runs, you could
make an argument that along with the Patriots run, the
Steelers run in the seventies, that might maybe the Packers
in the sixties, those are the best runs of all time,
of multiple years. I mean, you had you know, the
(07:51):
Cowboys in the forty nine Ers would win like two
out of three or whatever, three out of four. But
that's I don't think the same as being that good
for seven straight years and it seems to now be over.
Does that make you sad? I mean had to end
at some point.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
It did, and this year has been kind of roller coaster.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I thought it ended. Then they'd win a big game.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I'm like, oh, I'm an idiot for doubting them, and
then they'd go lose a game and I'd write them
off again and then go win another one. But this
past week felt like the end. Even Travis Kelsey's got
comments out there where he's like, anytime we face did
versity before, I felt like I had an answer. I
don't have an answer this time.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, because he's probably going to retire, and I think
they'll be a second act for Mahomes. I think he'll.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Brycet and Worthy are great joy.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Did this too. I mean, Brady had his first run.
Then they had two or three years like twenty ten, eleven, twelve,
something like that, where they weren't as good, and then
he had a second run. Right. I think that'll happen
with Mahomes too. They're probably gonna have to I mean,
Kelsey's gonna retire, but then they'll probably lose a couple
of other guys as well, and then they'll be a
(08:55):
next act where but he may be the only him
and worthy or right, I think they may be the
only ones left. Andy Reid seventy so you got it.
You wonder will he's still be the guy? So it's
I'm a little sad. I think the Chiefs are the
Chiefs are what make the NFL great. You had star
power in a secondary city, right, that's it was just
(09:18):
in a secondary place. One of the best fan bases,
a great fan base. In every game was an event
with the Chiefs, And so the fact that it ends
does make me a little bit sad.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
It does. And like when you're in it, you're like, oh,
the Chiefs in the super Bowl again, you almost get
the exhaustion like anyone else. But then when you're seeing
that kind of end, there is a little bit of
change in the Guard. There is a little bit of like, oh, well.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, but they're not gonna say they get tired of that.
And I think they're wrong because I mean, let's say
we get a Broncos Ram super Bowl, heading straight for it.
You're telling me that Chiefs Rams would not be more fun.
I mean, you're telling me like, of course it would be.
You know, it's like Twin Tiger. People got tired of
Tiger winning. Know who wins now some guy named Max? Yeah,
(10:06):
And you know, I mean, I.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I Stars, star Power matters, And we probably won't get
that Bill's U's AFC Championship. We all thought we were
heading straight again. But when we get there, there will
be a little bit like, oh.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
This isn't see Bow Knicks versus Trevor Lawrence. I want
to see mahomes Al And then we're just we're just
not going to get that. Unfortunately.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
There is a weird part of like when you're in it,
it's a little too repetitive, but then when you're moving
to the new Guard, it's like, well, wait a minute,
where where's why aren't they in the mix?
Speaker 1 (10:34):
What was it? Ed Helms said on the Office, wouldn't
it be great if you knew it was the glory
years when you're in them.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Wish you knew they were the good times when you're
in them.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, these were the good times. And I feel like CJ.
Stroud and Will Anderson ended them Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
That was a nasty defense. The Chiefs won't be done.
They've drafted well. The Kelsey stepping away is a big
changing of the guard there. I wonder so much if
they had just finished the job against the Eagles last
year and he just has a walk off, I think
he would have retired. It has to be haunting him
that they couldn't just get over again.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
On further, think about how many games they should have
won this year. I mean, I think about that Jaguars
game where he threw They were going in to take
I think a two score lead and Mahomes throws a
pick six and then the Jaguars win. I kind of
think that was the game that they sort of fell apart.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
And they have several examples of like Kelsey passing him
in the numbers and popping in the air and get
an interceptions.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Three interceptions, and two of them were not Mahome's fault
in the last game.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's what I mean. They almost have like bloopers that
are adding to it, where if you had any thought of, well,
maybe they're fine, you see them making the mistakes that
they never made before, and that adds to the to
the fall.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Yeah, I do wonder if Kelsey retires last year, like if.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
They beat the Eagle, Taylor's there, that was a big
story already. Yeah, it's Jason Kelsey's team.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
I do wonder if he was going to ask her
to marry at the game, if they were had it
in the hocket, just had to win the game. By
the way, that the wedding date is June thirteenth, I saw.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
The day after my birthday. We're gonna go are we gonna?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Are you gonna? Are we gonna have a party?
Speaker 3 (12:15):
We should billionai bar you? Yeah, Billy and I brought
this up Wednesday, but skipped over quite a bit. We
mentioned it briefly, but they just there's like this castle
and like someone already had the date in their wedding
plan and they just bought them out. Like what do
you think Taylor Swift offered to just be like, no,
I want the date, like people are already established.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
I didn't know that. So they they said get out.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah, I mean you had to have gotten Like what
would you have gone for? I mean, at the very least,
I'm getting my entire wedding paid for with a little
bit of honeymoon money. But when you know, on the
other end, you have a mega billionaire super slowly though
they're really rich.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
If they had already gotten the castles, Taylor want so
like I would want, I don't know, and concept i'd
invite to.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Them, there you go, if you're already that wealthy, what's
the one thing you can't I can't buy experience? Great answer,
you know, so maybe that couple will be front row
at Travis and Taylor show.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
I would say, sit me at your all's wedding. Trying
to think of who will be at that wedding.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
I'd want to sit with Jason Kelsey, Andy Reid, Oh definitely.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
I mean some people would say, LEO, I don't want
something Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
What a great call being Andy Reid. Sert's coming off
of the reception.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
That's a good questions who who from the NFL is
going to that wedding.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
It's awkward in that locker room because theyre not inviting everybody.
Oh no, that's why I have to retire, because you
can't invite the whole team. Right, He'll invite Mahomes because
he has to. I don't know if they're close or not,
but they got They got the steakhouse together. They knew
Taylor before this from Philly when he was so so.
Andy Reid is gonna which side of the he said
(13:54):
on he knew Taylor first, had ring has read.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Travis is gonna need anymore.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
It's true. Maybe he's the best man, or Taylor is
gonna have a lot more options. I bet Andy Reid
cross though you know.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
We I've talked about. I met Tony Pike, who is
his quarterback at Cincinnati, and he said they were close,
and I was like, are you getting the invite? And
he was like, I assume not. It's tough one.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
You gotta can't invite Tony Pike. They should have picked
more inviting venue. I don't think a castle in Rhode Island.
It's off by itself. They're looking for a big wedding.
Tony Pike should be there. Though, Tony Pike should just
show up. Hello, I'm sure you meant to have me here. Well,
I wish him.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Well, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Congratulations to the couple. Yeah, who never fights?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
All right, So the biggest story today, in my opinion,
Philip Rivers has signed with the Colts. He is forty
four years old and may start this week Riley Leonard, who,
by the way, as a rookie, you gotta think your
career is done if they're like, if they're like, we
don't want you, we'd like a man who hasn't played
(15:02):
football in five years. By the way, did you see
what someb he did. Somebody took his NFL profile Philip
Rivers and replaced the picture with Joe Biden.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Oh that old.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
I have to say. It made me laugh. I'm not
gonna lie. I thought that was very clever. But this
is a battle. Have we ever seen anything like this?
To sit out a sport for five years, that's a
long time. And he looked old when he played.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I gotta meant at first when they signed him, my phone,
what are they doing? I watched that press conference. He
nailed the press commerce who cares? But first he walked down.
I mean, just like the self deprecating like I don't
know my weight? Why would I possibly know my weight?
But doing he has he been like, he's got nine kids,
he's been busy.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Hey, but has he been working out?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I don't think so. The man that he's been thinking
about it. I kind of kind of feel like Flacco
and that Roger's gonna Flacco though. I know that game.
That game gave everyone so hope when forty year olds
were just throwing haymakers.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Like, what's he There's no way he's going to be good.
First of all, he's going he's gonna get hurt.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
He needs a good offensive line. He said to himself,
I'm not outrunning anybody.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
But there's no way his timing and his speed can
be right. I wouldn't think he's not been coaching right. No,
and that far out of the game. I believe he
was selling lawnmowing equipment. Is that what he was doing.
I believe I saw he was selling lawnmowing equipment. I
think he's.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Probably with this with the big family, probably just running
around the house all the time.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
You say he's not selling longmo he could have been.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
I don't know what he's doing in his free time.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Well, you know they did. They did a post on
on on ESPN which was other guys who left the
League at the same time as Philip Oh.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
This would be good.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Rivers and what they're doing now if they decided to
start playing. They got their LinkedIn program. This is a
good Toby Gerhart Do you remember Toby Gerhart running back,
running bat? He is the senior director of sales and
Enablement at a Sureion.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Okay, good for him. Life after football, that's important.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Mike glennon the never and you take the neck.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
He walks so Davis Mills could run.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
He's a commercial real estate broker. Okay, that's nice. Prince,
I'm a Kamora Mara remember him?
Speaker 2 (17:31):
I do?
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, Giants.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
He is the CEO of Mister Chat It was. It's
a children's chatting app. Okay.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
I'm very impressed all these guys finding second careers after football.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Josh Rosen quarterback, Yeah, former card He is getting in
his NBA at the Wharton School. For him, it's a
really good school to get an education.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
What do you think Ryan Leaf is doing. I've actually
seen him on on my NFL network.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
He retired before.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
He is doing Samanos stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
The CEO of Ram Consultants and Puction. That's good. What
about Jake Plumber, what do you think Jake Plummer, Jake
Shake the Snake, he's the vice president of Peace, Love
and Mushrooms.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
I already had suspicions of what he might be doing
that actually confirmed them.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
I like that one that Cardinals legend. That one maybe
maybe one of my favorites. So there you go. That's
who else no idea if those guys would all get
brought back to play as well.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
I saw that it works in like Rivers had to
consider his Hall of Fame induction because this will now
he was already on a timeline and where was coming up.
This resets it, I guess, so he had to take
that interesting consideration too.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
So he now wasn't he the same year as Eli
or No and Jake Plumber. Yeah, well, i'd be funny.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Mushrooms to give up, you know, the Hall of Fame
resetting that clock. You know, he really wants to be
part of this and wants to play. Well, point about right, Leonard,
just you get there, you live your dream. And they're like,
can anyone else let's call a forty four year old,
We can't possibly.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
That's like if they decided tomorrow, they'd be like, Matt,
we're gonna put you his backup post for cover zero.
We're bringing in Pat summer Ale. I'm like he did, like, yeah,
but give him a chance. I let you know where
you are though, or Paul Harvey good day. Well, I
(19:37):
wish him the best. The thing is the Koch still like,
I guess they're doing this because they think they have
a shot to win it, right.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Well, when they opened seven to one, they went out
and got sauce gardener, which is a win now thing.
I mean, it's a lot of they were I kind
of think they were unexpected to be where they were,
not just to fans, but even in their own eyes, like, whoa,
we're in contention the AFC. Let's make some moves, And
that has over the course of the last five six
weeks turned into now you have let's bring this old. Yeah,
(20:05):
what a weird the coaster year for them?
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yeah, no kidding. Well there you go. So those are
those are the Matt Jones headlines. Now Billy has what
I call our secondary headlines. Billy, Uh, nice to see
(20:30):
you in your official roblow NFL hat. That's right, what
do we got?
Speaker 5 (20:34):
I'm here ready to go. I do have one more
note on Philip Rivers. You mentioned he has ten kids.
His oldest child is as old as Riley Leonard.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Is three years old.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
He has a twenty three year old.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
Twenty three year old.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
First, that's got to be weird. Is it weirder that
your oldest kid is the same as your backup or
if your girlfriend same is your oldest kid? Which one's weird?
It's tough, right, probably great friend?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, girlfriend?
Speaker 1 (21:03):
You know you see that sometimes where it's usually like
a girlfriend in life like a daughter and that daughter
has to hate that woman, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
It's just in the back to your brain at all times,
like you don't want to focus on it, but like
the math maths right there, you can't it can't ignore it.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
But we had we had home room together, I believe.
All right, what's next?
Speaker 5 (21:23):
We need to talk about Jordan Love during Toyota than Matt.
You know a Toyota than right.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Is that where you get like a deal on Toyota.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Yeah, that's right, you go buy a car the deals
at Toyota. But strangely, Jordan Love always plays well during
Toyota thon. It's usually from mid November to the first
week of January. In nineteen games over the last three seasons,
Jordan Love has thirty five touchdowns, three interceptions, and is
completing sixty eight percent of his passes.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
So who figured this out?
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Like?
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Who is like the great question? Jordan Love's been playing
well in the month of November. It also happens to
have been during Toyota th On.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Maybe a Toyota lover and a Green Bay fan has.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
To be someone that works it Toyota, because I mean,
I've all like, if you told me Jordan Love is
always good in these few weeks, there's no scenario where
I would think that's Toyota Thon. I think I don't
know when you could have told me Toyota than was
at any point in life, and I wouldn't have known.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
And they trust me Toyota and I will tell you
about it. They'll advertise, but I'm with you. My brain
would not go, oh, he's good from mid November to
the beginning of January. Whatever it is that's Toyota has
to be a Toyota toy This is big Toyota trying
to work.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
They knows when Toyota Thon is. Car dealerships, though, are
serious about their deals. If I told you my story
about buying my car a couple of weeks ago. So
I got a new car. It's a it's like a BMW.
So this was like the nicest thing I've ever bought.
So and I don't know if when you buy a
(22:58):
new car, if you are like this, like I'm I'm
so scared the point yeah, like I think I'm going
to crash getting I'm not like that in regular life.
But right when you.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Buy it, are you like I've only done it once ever,
and it wasn't for me.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
You're like, I hold out my hand when I'm doing
the turn, just to make sure everybody knows. But there
was some sort of financing deal where on December first,
the rate was going to be point nine to nine percent.
It's like an amazing rate. But then the next day
(23:35):
we go back to market, which is like six point one. Okay,
it's weird to me you have a system where it
can fluctuate that much in a day. But Mario dropped
me off to get it. The paperwork had to be
in and signed by five o'clock, not I guess. I
(23:56):
don't know why. It was their internal system. But this
woman was running around like crazy and she was like hurry, hurry,
and I'm like, I don't know what I'm signing my
name and she's like, it's four fifty three faster, faster.
I may have signed away the rights to Billy. I
(24:18):
don't know. I signed whatever sheet they put in front
of me, and like, you know, you had to figure
out you're gonna get the extended maintenance. I did to
Sidne in like two and.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
A half minutes, an uncomfortable situation, and.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
I was like, I probably won't change the way. Yes,
give me the extend. So anyway, they're serious about these
thorns at these cars.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Sometimes I think there might be listen. I don't want
to I don't want to bow if any I don't
want to blow up anybody spots here. And we appreciate
the NFL sponsors. Everyone needs to have a car dealership.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Well you can beep out BMW and just say whatever
car sponsors this show, Hyundai, all right, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I do worry there's a little bit of dishonesty in
the process. They want you to be as uncomfortable as possible.
I think, so there's like put pressure on, like screaming.
I always have the thing of I'm.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Going on the radio. I tell him that up front.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Oh, that's a barber.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
My dad, Larry. His his method of doing cars is
the one I've done. He would sit down and look
at the person and go I don't like to haggle,
So bottom line, I'm gonna give you one chance to
give me an offer. I will either take it or
leave it. There will be no negotiating, so you have
(25:39):
to make a profit. I understand that, but this is
it and we will get something else. If you do
not surprisingly effective, because they're not, you're taking the power
from them.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I like that idea.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
It's a power move. Larry had a power move, and
I've adopted that. But I throw in an extra line.
I'm going on the radio.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Don't take this out of the thread. I'm just letting
you know.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
No, it's I'll do it with a smile, and that,
I think is how you make sure and and then
you get. You might get a little more, might cost
a little more than if you really haggled, but it
guarantees you don't get screwed, so shout out. Feel free
to use Larry's move. It's the Larry power move.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Swey guy. I've never done something like that over a car,
but I've been in negotiations where you have to turn
your back and say I'm leaving, and even though that
first step you're like, I don't know if I'm doing
this right. They're the ones freaking out. But you have
to be down. You have to be willing to leave
like that, they'll chase you. You have to be willing
to walk out the door, and then they know you've
meant business because if you really walk out that door,
(26:51):
they're getting nothing. Anyway.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Yeah, they also said to me, They're like, Matt, this
is a car that you must do the maintenance. Then
Mario said, it's all because, like you know, I had
the Lexus and the thing will drive into the book.
They were like, you have to do the maintenance on this,
(27:13):
so I won't this.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
You're not a big oil change. We all know our
weaknesses yours might be oil changes, so I gotta do
it on this one.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Apparently the car like calls you it's time, doesn't It.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Locks the doors and won't let you out until you
take it for an oil change.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
That's right, right, what's next?
Speaker 3 (27:32):
It was a big win for the Chargers on Monday
Night Football.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
They beat the Eagles in overtime twenty two to nineteen,
but probably what got the most attention was Justin Herbert
and Laura Rutledge.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
After the game.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
I didn't like this.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
Laura was trying to interview him for the TV broadcast,
and Justin was blowing her off. He said he was
trying to celebrate with my team. He eventually rolled his
eyes and did do the interview with Laura Rutledge. But
in a week where there have been a lot of
questions about Justin Herbert, he had surgery last week on
his left hand before they played. Maybe he was a
little bit too defensive.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
I'm rolling. Laura Rutledge is the nicest person in the world.
I've known Laura Rutledge for years. She's so nice, she's sweet,
she's smart. He was, that was not He owes her
an apology. Go celebrate with your team, that's fine, but
you can do the interview or just walk away, But
(28:23):
don't roll your eyes at Laura Rutledge. I didn't like
this trip.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
And you're Everything you said about Laura Religie is accurate,
but also a big part of why you're Justin Herbert
are these media deals. This wasn't like a random thing
on the street. Every player after every game has done
that quick interview coaches like, that's just part of it is.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
This is part of the somebody holding up and going
rate yourself on a scale one to ten for the video.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
This is you know, they're not interrupting his dinner. This
was postgame on the field. Everyone does it. Everyone then
goes and celebrates with their teammate. This wasn't like some
big intrusive thing that Laura relives was doing. It's something
that's been done after every game for decades. He should
have expected her.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
I didn't like it. He started dating Madison Beer and
he's gotten to fancy. I thought that was an interesting
game though. The Eagles. Ever since that dude from Philly
co hosted with me on ESPN and said the Eagles
weren't good, and I went, how can you say that
they've been awful? Are you out on the Eagles?
Speaker 3 (29:21):
I thought they had figured out and that's found some
kind of defensive identity. But then there it's kind of
the point, like the offense can't really do much of anything.
They have the nice fake tush push where Saquon looks like,
but yeah, AJ Brown had a bad drop. I mean,
I don't have their numbers in front of me. But
they haven't been putting up points really at all lately,
and that won't be able to take them far into
the playoffs and get to their ultimate goal.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, I don't get it. I don't understand how Jalen
Hurts can be so inconsistent at times, because at times
he looks like one of the best five quarterbacks in
the league. And then I mean that's Lamar has completely
fallen off the planet too. I mean, what happened to Lamar?
Speaker 3 (30:03):
You know, for a while you could be like, oh,
he's coming back from injury, but it just keeps going,
going and going, and then it's bad interceptions and.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
And it's not just even the scrambling, like he just
makes bad decisions. I don't know, He's just not Lamar,
and it makes me sad. I mean, we're losing Mahomes
will be back, but we're losing Mahomes, losing Lamar. Josh
Allen had big, Josh Allen's been great ross come back,
so that's good. But I don't want to live in
(30:31):
a world that Drake may is one of the three
best quarterbacks. I don't want that. Bo Nicks Nicks, you wait,
Bo Nicks is gonna lose Bodix is losing his first
round playoff game and throwing three interceptions. Write it down.
You're right about those, Lamar.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I'm not even a Lamar fan from Markentucky louisvill days,
but you know, but I I know that the NFL
needs him to be good because he is, when he's
at his peak, the most entertaining player in the league.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Tony da Koppel is the new anchor at CBS.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Okay, I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Is He's the guy he's on CBS this morning. I
don't know any about him, said my ex is when
it is his producer and says he's like the nicest
guy in the world. He's the guy who did the
interview with Bill Belichick's girlfriend or no, but Bill Belichick
where his girlfriend was like.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Yeah, we're not talking about that.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, yeah, that was him. Okay, really good hair does
and he's apparently very very nice. So then I support
it was that on your list of news.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I'm glad you brought it up.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Okay, I didn't want to take one of your scoops.
Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
It is week fifteen, so we have clenching scenarios when
it comes to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
This week, the paper, wondering what the next word was
going to be.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
The Patriots can clinch the AFC East this week with
a win versus the Bills. Meanwhile, both one seeds the
Rams and the Broncos can clench a playoff berth with
a win.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
So we're almost there.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Patriots Bill is a great game. I want the Bills
to win a lot this the Bills. This is the
year for them to get this. I feel like we're
going to pass. I feel like this is the year
the Chiefs should hand it to the Bills for two years.
I don't think we're in Broncos time yet. And that's
and or Pats. And that's why I really want the
(32:20):
Bills to win this game.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Yeah, and they've been so close for so long. If
somebody deserves it as them, and even the way they're
turning it on late. We just mentioned Josh Allen, but
I mean the Bengals had them dead in a snow
game in Buffalo. But then you get a little bit
of that Bill's magic. Part was part of it was
the Bengals collapse. But just like the Josh Allen forty
yard running the snow, getting those turnovers to pick six,
it's like the Bills are starting to find a little
(32:42):
magic right as we're creeping up on the playoffs. For
a lot of those teams that we thought would be
in the conversation are going the other way.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah, I'm for the Bills. Now. The game is in
uh is in New England, right, what do you what's
the name of the city, Funsborosboro, Jillette.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
That's a fun dam the best a man can get.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yeah, yeah, I'm going with the Bill. And it's also
a rare like best game of the weekends at one o'clock.
They've been doing that more. I mean the the main
event game in the late window is Lines Rams. I
would argue Patriots Bill is a better game, don't you think?
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, this is the even though the Lions Rams is huge,
Lines are down a little bit and this is this
is big for me.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Oh, No, Packers Broncos, that's probably the game they'll have.
It's the big one.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
My brain's still not ready to have Broncos as that
one seed, as you've been saying this whole show. But
for me, it's Bills Patriots because if are the Patriots
for real? I know they've won a million games in
a row and all that some of them still not
beating the best teams. Can you get the bills again?
You're at home? Yeah, see if they've truly changed the
guard there in that division?
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Breaking news oneyn A, Michigan is firing Charon Moren.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
It's big news for cause they just don't want to
pay that buyout.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Was he?
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Part of the cheating thing was the ntil they start
losing and then say it.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Was bringing up that staff back in twenty twenty three.
Every year a minute you were a water boy back.
What do you get to bring that up?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
So that's a big job coming open, right, Definitely, this
is a wild carousel when they just won the title,
but that was with Harball, So all right, what's next?
Speaker 5 (34:32):
NFL teams voted today at the Virtual December League Meetings
to support financially the development and launch of a professional
flag football league. They will invest up to thirty two
million dollars for this league and they hope to build
on the momentum that the flag football will have when
it debuts at the LA Olympic Games.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
In twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
So who owns it?
Speaker 3 (34:53):
The NFL is, Well, then it's a good idea I
want to develop and launch I wish I could be
there right now. It plays like something they can have
us podcasts about.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
True.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
I feel like the cover of the Flags, I kind
of feel like I'll.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Be a sideline reporter for the NFL flag football.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
You're gonna be tracking down the star quarterback like Larrela
is justin Herbert to get that postgame interview, trying could be.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
The Laura Rutledge for the No So flag Football. I
like when kids get to play flag football and women.
I don't know about flag football for for guys. I mean,
we had this conversation about a year ago about because
because the dude who's like the best flag football quarterback
(35:42):
said he'd be better at it than my home. Yeah,
do you remember that? Do we think that's plausible? Is
there a different skill to it? There is a different
skill to it? What is it?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
I couldn't break it down. But like Rajon Rondo, who
played point guard in the NBA and here in Kentucky
is like ranked as one of the best quarterbacks in
flag football.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
In the country.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Yeah, could be on our Olympi team. That's not true,
that's fact. You're making it, Mario tell.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Him, but he's like forty two. I know that's the thing. No,
he's not that you're making that up, Like that's not true.
Rondo be on the Olympic team.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
I mean probably won't be on the Olympic team, but
he is one of the best flags I mean, like.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Okay, I believe, like in his league he's pretty good,
but like worldwide, Rondo is not playing flag football at
a high level.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
In twenty two he plays for Team USA and I
don't know what flag football top ranked flag football quarterback.
You're making this up like you like our Team USA system,
not like some Louisville rec league.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
You're telling me that Raijon Rondo is a contender to
play for Team USA flag football.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
That is from August twenty twenty six. Jon Rondo is
officially twenty six excuse me. August twenty twenty five, Rajon
Rondo is officially the top ranked flag football quarterback in
the United States. There's a graphic by USA flag foot Well.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
If it's the NFL and you're doing this, then he's
got a play, right, Like, if you want to build
a flag football league, you want someone I know with.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Some name Reckon, because I know the guy you brought
up couldn't tell you his name, Like, I know that story,
but I know Rajon Rondo.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
I don't know if I believe it. I mean, just
think about what the equivalent of that would be. Right,
There's a three on three football league, there's a three
on three basketball league, and apparently the best player is
Drew Brees.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Come on, I mean, it's it's the world we're living in.
Do you want to watch and throw it around? There's highlights.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
The NFL is allowing their players to participate in flag
football in the twenty eight Olympics.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
No, that's cool. So the skill that is different is
what elusiveness? I guess hips. It's all like Shakira in
the hips.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Gotta be in the hips just avoid getting that flag pooled. Yeah,
I'm with you on how I don't love it. But
if you know we're gonna play it it's in the Olympics,
I guess I get behind it. We don't want to
be losers. We've gotta roll Rondo out there and get
behind it. We will.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
It's like, let's be real, I'll watch anything except pickleball.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
So what if they did just trot out for the
Olympics like the NFL's best. We have Jackson Smith and Jigbile.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
There playing in the Olympics other countries, but no one
else plays football.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
That's why it feels like we just threw this in there.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Right on Italy. Yeah, I mean, are they gonna be like, who?
No one plays football anywhere?
Speaker 3 (38:42):
I know, So we're taking a secondary level of sports that.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
They don't play. Where are we gonna play?
Speaker 3 (38:48):
We're just gonna beat there, buddy. You know they get
us in soccer. This is our way of getting back.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
That's gotta be a We're just trying to pad the
gold metal snats.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
You know that's I don't hate it.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
You're fine with that, just making up sports only we play.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
I'm fine with winning.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Okay, We're like I have an a Real Housewives of
Salt Lake trivia contest.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
We're going Miles Garrett out there and just ripping flags
off of people who have never played.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
For I don't know that Miles Garrett would be the
skill set. He wouldn't be good.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
He'd be intimidating. If you want to.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
See I think I would think the talent is is speed,
that's right.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
But if you're one of these other countries, you don't
even know what football is, and there's Miles Garrett. I
would think that's a little intimidating.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Well, if you go to the Olympics and you don't
know what football is, I think it's going to be
a hard, hard sell for you.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Do we support it though, Good job, NFL. Yeah, we
were in for it, and we'd love to cover a game.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
What's next, Well, while we're speaking about the international game,
the NFL will play regular season games in Munich, Germany
in both twenty twenty six and twenty twenty eight, announced
this week. Germany actually has the largest American football fan
base in Europe, with about twenty million fans. So they
will play a game in Germany. Did we do that
the four straight years?
Speaker 3 (40:00):
They did? Do it again?
Speaker 1 (40:01):
Okay, I mean we're gonna end up playing these games everywhere,
which is fine. I mean, I'm good with it. Germans.
You know, there is the part of Europe that likes
football the most, is like Germany, the Czech Republic, I think,
like Poland, Like that's where I think the NFL Europe
has has had some success as that sort of Eastern
(40:24):
European to Germany areas, So it doesn't it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
They would play there and there, you know, we see
when they make these trips on these Sunday mornings, we're
up at nine to thirty. We see the appetite for
it over there. They get great crowds. I think a
lot of times they might not know what they're looking
at and they're always wearing Jacksonville jerseys. But that's it.
That's a start. They want more of it, and the
NFL will be crazy not to go.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
They have a lot of stadiums they can play in
because they built these huge stadiums to host the World
Cup in the European Championships. So you know, part of
the problem is in Europe there aren't They don't have
these mega stadiums like we have a lot of them.
But but Germany I think does, so that probably makes
sense to go there all for it.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
And for me just selfishly, I like the unique times
and you don't one o'clock, four thirty, eight o'clock. That's great.
Been doing that my whole life. Yeah, sure, six in
the morning, whenever you got to put them on. Give
me more NFL.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
I'll tell you something, my bit you didn't know. Okay,
do you realize how much more North countries in Europe
are than America? So I want you to think about
where Rome, Italy is on the man. Okay, yeah, where
do you think Rome, Italy is in relation to North America?
(41:34):
Like this? In terms of latitude, where do you think
Rome is compared to North America?
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Like above Florida slag?
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Where do you think it is?
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Never even thought about it, I'll say somewhere along the
lines of Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
How about Montreal?
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Really?
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Yeah, Montreal, Madrid? What you think of is like hot
is New York. So people don't realize so like Germany
is like mid Canada. Interesting, So my I don't know
what my point is. We're expanding our minds. I've never
(42:11):
even thought about it because you see the globe and
the way the globe looks. You know that they flatten
it so us to see. But so you don't really
realize that it's the same latitude, Like I like, i
'n't even see. If I can find real quick, I'm
going to give you cities that are the same. Laddite
cities that are same is it latitude or longitude? I
(42:33):
never know which ones which.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Yeah I don't either.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
Uh yeah, so San Francisco it's the same as Beijing.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
Okay, did you know that I didn't. I'm trying to
picture the globe in my head. Here.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
What else let's see, Oh, Fairback Banks, Alaska is the
same as Rajavik, Iceland.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
I could see that one. I would have predicted a
little bit. I see, I envisioned both those as being
far north.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yeah. If I listened Grease, Yeah, where would you if
you just thought about it, you probably think Athens.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
Grease is like mel y southern climate.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
Yeah, San Francisco.
Speaker 5 (43:15):
That is interesting.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
Well, that's what I'm here for.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
The stuff for learning on this should give you.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
I mean, does that anything to do with the NFL?
Speaker 4 (43:23):
Know?
Speaker 1 (43:24):
But it just felt like something he'd.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
But if you listen to cover zero this week, this episode,
you're walking away knowing more about how to buy a
car and more about our planet.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
And tell me no more about the NFL. Maybe not? Well, no,
you know what Mike Glennon's doing.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
Say, yeah, you've taught us a lot.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
What's next?
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (43:44):
The Bears, after falling from the one to the seventh
seed in the NFC, hosts the Browns at home this week.
They're saying, it's negative twenty windshill at this game.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
But Kevin Stefanski announced that Shader Sanders would be the
Cleveland starting quarterback for the rest of the season after
he threw for three hundred and sixty four yards and
three touchdowns versus Drew's Titans and a loss.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
The most praise I've ever seen someone get for losing
to the Titans.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Yeah, wait, we let him have a day, but well,
it played well in the fourth quarter, but they did
lose to the Titans.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
But I mean they should let him start through the
end of the year. I think that makes sense. Would
you go sit in the cold? Let's say you were me,
your Bears are nine and four, you're playing at home.
Would you go sit to watch this game? This is
I would prefer it.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Like when we went to Lambeau. I wanted I wanted
a blizzard. Like I sure you'll be a little cold,
but it'll get a little colder in the game, but
that's like, that's the experience, that's what you'd remember.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
And you're playing a team that's also used to the cold.
So I don't know that it'll have the impact it
would if you're playing like the Dolphins or something like that.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
No, maybe throw shadur off a little bit here, but no.
If I'm from a fan experience, I want the absolute worst.
We were talking about how fun just that Buffalo Bengals
game was Leslie just washing it home, like there's nothing
better than a good snow. Snow games are the best. Yeah,
and hopefully the Bears get one in Chicago this Sunday
with the weather.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
There's loss to the Packers. But I actually was encouraged
by the game. Came down to this final play. He
was there a defensive play and he didn't make a
good play. But you know what we were in that game.
We were legit against the team that I think is
one of the three or four best teams in the league.
So I always felt good about that game. This is, however,
the kind of game we would lose.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Oh, come on out to the Browns.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
I bet I just what are they are? We like
an eight and a half point favorite or seven and
a half? Seven and a half? See like that to
me is a bet the Browns game.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Maybe. Even though the Browns didn't beat the Titans, I
feel like they're acting like they did with Shad or
having a good game. Miles Garrett's got every record you
can think of. Right now, I feel like they're already
celebrating from I.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Think we win, but I think we win by like three.
Speaker 5 (45:52):
Browns beat the Packers earlier this year.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
That's what I'm saying. I think the brown I think
the Browns are. They're They're saucy, they are They're like
a night out with Charbar.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
And they almost I mean, Shador threw an amazing throat
to Harold Fan and Junior from Bowling Green to almost
put the title away.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
And you, because of you. Every time they say the name,
I just go from Bowlinger. I was so far in
front of that. By the way, they didn't play a
game yet. I don't think when I said watch to
come up with him, everybody was talking about Njoku and
this and that. I think I saw a preseason game
where they targeted him a lot. It's like, wait a minute,
this it's tight end from Bowling Green. And I'd never
heard of him. If you'd asked me on Draft night,
wouldn't known a thing about him. I just randomly watched
(46:33):
a preseason game, probably for Shador, and saw that he
was getting a lot of targets, okay, and then it
panned out more than I ever met. He's done it
He's done great, and uh, you know Caleb kind of
say happy with Caleb. I saw a.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
Clip breaking down that interception. It was a bad interception,
but the defender made a pretty spectacular place.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Would you rank those quarterbacks in that class? Now? I mean,
McCarthy and Pinnix are clearly five and six, But now
you go Drake May, bow Nick's, Jaydeon Daniels, Caleb Williams.
What would the order be? Now?
Speaker 3 (47:08):
Even though you're not ready to put him up there,
I have to go Drake May first because he just
keeps winning.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Then who Michael Caleb Jayden Daniels has been so hurt
this year it's hard to see what he is was
last year just flashing the pan. He hadn't had much
of an opportunity, So I Michael Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
Okay, see, I would go Drake May probably number one.
I don't want to, but I'd say Caleb two, Jade
and Daniels three, bow Knicks four, just because I don't
believe in Bownicks. But he keeps winning, so I'm not.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
I mean, it can't just just credit when every Sunday
goes out wins a game.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
But it's interesting because at the end of last year
you might have had Caleb Williams fifth, he might have
even had Michael pinnockx ahead of him, and now he's
moved up to where he's probably, in my opinion, either
second or third between what you think about him and Daniels.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
And it shows so much the system and the coach.
You know, Kayleb Williams has had a good turnaround for
a year ago on his own, but getting Ben Johnson
and an offense that really can produce has been a
big part of him playing better too. And then you
still get the pack. There's one more shot at him. Yeah,
we do to try to even the score, Josh Allen Drake.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
May that may be for the MVP Sunday too, like
we all expect. Yeah, that may be. What's next?
Speaker 5 (48:17):
You mentioned Jade Daniels. He will be out for this
week's game versus the Giants after he reinjured his elbow injury.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
The injuries is he? I feel like he's gotten hurt.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
It's been a year leveled less week.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
Am.
Speaker 5 (48:41):
This is my final news note here. The Bucks are
getting Mike Evans back this week. That's gonna be a
big help versus the Falcons for Thursday night football.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
They do. They've lost five of their last seven.
Speaker 5 (48:51):
Their frauds, but they're pulling a little Indianapolis Colts here.
Going back to the vault, they have signed thirty six
year old Jason Pierre Paul to be their next edge rusher.
You remember he won a Super Bowl with the Giants
and the Bucks in twenty twenty. He also had a
five work accidents in which he had to remove his
right index finger and severely damaged his thumb.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Yeah, I mean, I I didn't know what Jason. I thought.
He worked with Mike Glennon, so I didn't know what
he was doing. I wish him the best, but your
team stinks and your coach calls stupid fourth and ones
that never work.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
Like Buca can't catch a game tying Touchdow drops.
Speaker 1 (49:32):
Yeah, so you are bad and it rains all the time.
Speaker 5 (49:35):
Yeah, Baker has not been good since we started.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
Really has business and.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
Like he's got to be hurt though, right.
Speaker 5 (49:41):
Well, Yeah, there was a couple of weeks he wasn't
running at all and now he's he's doing a little
bit more.
Speaker 3 (49:45):
But you got to think there's something.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
I've got to think he's hurt like that. Nothing else
would explain the huge drop off unless he was hurt.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
In hindsight, I'm glad you didn't go ask for that
picture in Buffalo. He seems to be down a little bit.
Remember he had just taken it off. We thought he'll
be fine, he'll be back.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
Well, you were going to ask him for a picture
and he was like with his girlfriend and they were
making out, and you wanted to like tap on his
show older.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
And it's all been downhill from that moment.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
And I was like, don't they're making out.
Speaker 5 (50:10):
I could have cheered him up though they were sad.
I think they have changed the season.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
Honestly, do you think you should have gone up and
talked to you think in that he was he was not.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
He was talking to someone after a bad loss. They
wanted to go up and go.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
I worked with the NFL.
Speaker 5 (50:32):
I just wanted to ask him a couple of questions,
you know, and not asking, but it was like he
was with his family. Yeah, well I didn't. I've got
the respect.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
But if I did, I.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Told you not to do it. If I did, maybe
where you were going to I was on one shoulder
to do it.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
But it's all been losing since then, right, there has
there been a win since that game?
Speaker 5 (50:49):
Oh they got the Cardinals, they had the Cardinal Oh yeah,
well we got the Panthers at the end of the year.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
That's all that matters, right, that made game that matters.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
All right? It is now time for the Victory Bundle,
presented by Liberty Mutual. This is three picks, uh that
we picked together from the game this weekend, and if
you win, then you win. I'm going to take the
Bengals to beat the Ravens. I believe the Ravens are
(51:17):
a five and a half point favorite, and I in
the game is in Cincinnati. I don't really understand that line.
I don't know what the Ravens have done to be
a five and a half point favorite. I would even
pick the Bengals to win the game. So I'm going
to take the Cincinnati Bengals to win. What about you?
Speaker 3 (51:34):
I'm going to go to Sunday Night Football a team
that I'll admit I had given up on. But the
Dallas Cowboys are in the mix and staring down the
Eagles and still in a spot in the NFC or
in the playoffs. Out of the NFC, they play the Vikings,
who I think just had a fluq win last week,
and they'll get back to the real world and not
be nearly as good that they took advantage of that
(51:57):
thirty one oh shutout. So I think the Cowboys handle
business at home in prime time against Minnesota. I believe
they're four and a half five point favorite. Cowboys need
to when they have something to play for the Vikings don't.
I think it'll be a big bounce back for Pickens,
and the Cowboys score a lot of points in that one.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
So you're taking Dallas to cover? Yes, all right, So
I'm taking Cincinnati, you are taking Dallas, and then let's
figure out. I'm sorry to being boy. That game started
at five minute, only one and a half. Now, I'm
still gonna take the Bengals, although I like it a
lot less at one and a half. I also like
(52:34):
the Bills getting one and a half in New England.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
I don't hate the Bills, as I was saying earlier
that when a lot of teams are going in the
wrong direction, we're throwing aside. The Bills have just they
had some down games, some questions about their defense, but
they're looking like they're starting to get back to their
right form, just in the right of time. As the
playoffs creeping up, Josh Allen had an enormous game and
that comeback.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
Bills Bengals Cowboys. That's your victory Bundle, presented by Liberty Mutual.
Start your quote at Libertymutual dot com. Are you still
in the.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
Survivor I am still alive. We actually have to ask
the committee. I'm not gonna take it away fromhim, but
the pick he claimed he was going to have last
week this questionable.
Speaker 5 (53:14):
Well, we didn't have a show on Sunday night on
Wednesday last week. You did not do a show, correct,
So we didn't have a pick. I told Drew I
would have picked the Saints to beat the Bucks because
I saw that game coming from a mile away. If
you don't want to count that pick, you don't have to.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
I'm not well, I'm just gonna act like you didn't
pick because you didn't.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
You were not going to pick big underdog, and no
one's going.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
To pick a three and two and ten team on
the road. Yeah, you can let him know he doesn't
believe I don't believe you, and I'm not going to
believe you. So let's just assume that you're let's just
I'll give you another chance. Because most of the teams
got knocked out last.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Week and in the other weeks we missed. There's some
I don't want to discredit what he's doing. I was
out week one, so it didn't come for me.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
I think, I think you're you've been eliminated.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
Oh he picked too this week and it alright, Oh
there's some big spreads this week. You should do this easily.
Speaker 5 (54:09):
I'm going with the Philadelphia Eagles. That was going to
be my first pick. I have not picked them yet.
Can't he pick it? And the Raiders aren't going to
get anything done?
Speaker 1 (54:15):
I think that's come back.
Speaker 3 (54:16):
There you go. And then I'm going Bears Bears over
the Browns.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
All right, So you're taking Eagles and Bears. This is
a two. You've got to get two to survive.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
I gotta have both.
Speaker 5 (54:26):
I haven't picked either team obviously, so.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
And I'll even let you pick the sites a kid
if you want it sometime. All right, Eagles and Bears, Billy,
that is his survivor league. Now where are we on
our Am I still ahead by one? You are?
Speaker 5 (54:42):
We all missed Tweek thirteen? You picked pooka. I picked
a Trevion Henderson and then Drew went Brozmer. Okay, so
inside four to two is the score.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
I appreciate y'all. Trump told me out of that five
for that was a terrible All right, Drew, I will
let you go first, and I get any position player,
any position. Trying to think have I used I know
the forty nine ers play my Titans, and I like
to fade my Titans. You go and see them, see, Yeah,
I'll go McCaffrey. I don't think I think i've picked them.
I don't think you have.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
So you got Christian McCaffrey. That means, Billy, you can
pick either a wide receiver or a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (55:15):
Yeah, I got a little Kentucky flavor here. I'm going
Wandell Robinson versus the Commander's Commander's third worst passing defense
to slot receivers. What they've given up the most receiving
yards to slot receivers, the third most?
Speaker 3 (55:31):
Do you know the next that must be above the
payfall on the website of the paywall.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
There's no way you know that. I need you to
take that back, because I mean it might be true,
but you don't.
Speaker 5 (55:43):
Know that I do the prep work that goes into
the show.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
Last week, a stat was the Bears A want to
know in games since Ben Johnson's taking his shirt off,
So that's our new stat for watching.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know that that is
a stat. That's uh.
Speaker 5 (55:59):
You don't like the Wandelle stat. I mean it's it's
fantasy football playoffs this week. If you're trying to find
the lamb.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
Was bragging about one on a podcast. I'll let you
take more credit, all right. So I have to figure
out what I'm gonna take here. And you know I've
picked most of the running quarterbacks over the course of
the year.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
Philip Rivers is right there in front of you. That
would be all time. So Doure, Darner, Bears, Jackson Dark.
Speaker 1 (56:26):
I'm gonna take Dak.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
I'm gonna take Dak. I don't know, I haven't taken him.
I'm gonna say, Dak gets it in the end zone
and says, whomp, there it is thought you knew and
gets it. Give me, Give me Dak Prescott.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
I like this. Every time I say I like it,
we go on three. So we would be careful to
be too optimistic.
Speaker 1 (56:46):
But got one yet. But that's that's okay, all right.
So there you have it, all the news you need
and some of you didn't. We will be back on
Sunday to go over all the games.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
Big week, no buys.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
This is the There are more games on Sunday than
any other week for the rest of the year because
starting next week you start get games on Saturday and
et cetera. So this is the fullest Sunday we'll have,
so enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
We'll see you las.
