give you a cute to call andhopefully you win because we'd love to see
you out there tomorrow night. Okay, Now, guy just does a fantastic
job. Love having him on theshow. Covers the Dodgers for the Times,
Jack Harris and Jack thank you forcoming on today. Guys. Hey,

(00:45):
all right, I said this earlier. You know, they beat Zach
Gallen, they beat Meryl Kelly.I don't want to hear the Dodgers can't
hit good pitching, because those twoguys are pretty good, aren't they.
Jack? Yeah, I mean thatright. There was a good preview of
what you might see in a potentialdivision series, like he said, Zach
Allen is probably number two in thecy Young race right now. Meryl Kelly

(01:07):
when he's been healthy this year hasbeen really good. And for the Dodgers
to not just beat both of them, but to win as dominantly as they
did, it was a good sign. Now, it was right around this
time last year when they beat upon Sandy acon Thro when he came here
and some other good pictures. Solate August results don't always transferred to October,

(01:30):
but it's better than struggling against thosetwo. And I think to do
it on back to back nights andthe fashion that they did at home,
that's what the Dodgers want to seeobviously come October. And it's another sign
that with the lineup right now, when they're playing well, it doesn't really
matter who they're going up against becausethey can hit, yeah they can,
and they can score runs. Andyou said it, though it's late August,

(01:53):
early September, and can they keepthis up for a month. It's
going to be the question because weknow, based on last year, is
not the team with the best recordingregular season? It who's the hottest team
come October? And if you lookat this team, is the offense masking
the issues with the pitching staff, and can that continue from an offensive standpoint

(02:16):
and get the Dodgers through the playoffsif the pitching is just average. I
think before this month, yes,the offense was masking and covering up for
a lot of the pitching problems theDodgers had. Which happened this month is
the pitching has just been a lotbetter from the rotation, which has benefited
obviously from getting Clayton Kershaw back, from how well Lance Lynn Is pitched since

(02:39):
he's been traded here with the monthhu Areas was having before that last inning
in Boston over the weekend, andthen the bullpen has been pretty steady,
especially Evan Phillips and Bruised our gratrole forming that eighth ninth inning combination that
you know, the Dodgers have goneback in fourth the last couple of years.

(03:00):
I'm having a full time closer orwhatnot, But to have two guys
that you trust in those two inningsis really key so lately because the offense
hasn't had to be masking for thepitching because they've still been able to win
some games, you know, likethat doubleheader against Miami. You know,
pair of three to one wins andFreddie Freeman who said it last week,
like, you know, the offensehas been really good this month, but

(03:22):
they haven't been really good every singlenight, and yet they've won almost every
single night because the pitching has beenso much more consistent. It's given them
so much more depth or workload fromthe rotation, and they've been able to
set up the bullpen and a lotbetter situation because of that. So,
yeah, the pitching, Like isthis a one month thing or had they

(03:43):
really figured something out? That's abig question. When they stay healthy,
they keep losing guys, Tony Gonsonbeing the latest one. There's a lot
of relievers whose status is up inthe air, but they can pitch this
way for the rest of the seasonthat they might not even need the offense
to cover up for some of theother issues we saw earlier in the season.
Hey, Jack, you're there everyday. You started in spring training,
so you know the guys as wellas anybody when you sit and watch

(04:06):
Mookie bats, are you amazed bythis streak he's having Definitely impressed. I
don't know if amaze is the rightword, just because this is the kind
of player that the Dodgers thought theywere getting right an MVP caliber guy.
Now this last month, he's addingfour or fifty something. It has a
thirteen hundred ops that's pretty ridiculous. And there's been a couple, you know,

(04:30):
four or five games stretches, thislast road trip being a good example,
where it seems like he's getting onbase in almost every single at bat.
That stuff you just don't see froma lot of players. But I
think if you look at this seasonas a whole, this is the guy
that the Dodgers were willing to giveup some good prospects for. We're willing
to commit all the years and moneythat they committed to because they believed he

(04:51):
could be at this level. Evenlast year he wasn't quite here, and
in twenty one he definitely wasn't inthis ballpark with the injuries he was dealing
with. But the fact that youhave, again, not just a guy
who's as productive as he is,but impacts the team in so many different
ways. One of the big thingsI think that's happened is and when you
talk to the guys every day,one of the things they'll point to is

(05:14):
everybody else in the lineup knows theirroles, knows their responsibilities. They can
buy into it, whether it's ayou know, guys that are in platoon
spots or guys that are just usedmore for defensive replacements. And a big
part of making all those other piecesfit is the fact that Mookie bats can
play right fields, can play secondbase, can play shortstop. Is always
generating something at the top of thelineup. If anybody at the bottom of

(05:35):
the lineups getting on base, He'sa big reason why. You know,
it seems like Miguel Rojas and AustinBarnes and other guys who hit nine times
they got bats, so they hadthey got bats because they set up Mookie
in the very next spot. Soit's not just the numbers and the production,
but it's the way that his playand his versatility helps the rest of

(05:56):
the team fall into place that Ithink is really the most impressed thing,
on top of just the consistency andthe fact that he's been playing as maybe
the best player in baseball for thelast two to three months here, Yeah,
no doubt in doing it from thelead all position, having that many
RBIs is really impressive. Jack. When you look at this team in this
culture of the Dodgers, are youand May We talked about this earlier.

(06:18):
Guys come here and in the unspokenrule is that they come here and get
to get fixed. And a lotof players have come through this organization in
the last ten years, and theyhave. I mean, we just talked
about Lance Land. He's come here. Now what he's been lights out on
the hill. I mean, yes, he's given up a few home runs,
but he's won every game, Peralta. Jason Hayward comes here, Keiki

(06:40):
here Nannez was having a struggle ofa year in Boston. He comes here
and now he's on fire. Whatis it about this organization that's able to
take guys, analyze it and beable to turn things around. I think
the track record that they've had,the past successes that they've had helped that
a lot. Particularly, And you'lllook at a team like this year,

(07:01):
which, as you mentioned, theyreally built their roster around reclamation projects,
veteran guys on one year deals tryingto re establish their value from Jade Martinez,
Jason Heywards and David perraulta de evensomebody like Shelby Miller, and those
players know that when they come tothe Dodgers. They're coming into an organization

(07:21):
that with a lot of pass guyshave been able to unlock more success or
change their swing in a way thathelps or help them develop new pitches or
sequence in a different way for pitchersthat can unlock another level of production.
So I think that's where it starts. The second part is the day to

(07:41):
day culture around the team. Andwhile Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts lead by
example and set the tone with theirplay, one of the really interesting things
about this year's team has been inthe absence of Justin Turner and the absence
of some of the other guys whohave left this club over the last few
years. It's been these veteran oneyear editions, Jason Hayward, mcguel Rojas.

(08:05):
These are the guys who have takenon more of a vocal leadership role
within this year's clubhouse and a bigreason why they have that credibility. They
have that voice. It's not justbecause of their past track records and their
past accomplishments, but also because everybodyelse in that room sees how badly they
wanted to turn their careers back around, sees how hard they work on it.

(08:26):
On a day to day basis andare seeing the fruits of that labor
with the time to seasons they're having. So I think with this year's team
in particular, you're getting the ultimateexample of that, where you have all
these players who are all having bouncedback years and are feeding off each other
because of it, and it's givingthem just enough depth and just enough other
options to go along with Mookie andFreddie and Will Smith's and Max Munsey and

(08:46):
some of the other established guys toforward all the talent that the Dodgers lost
last offseason to still be in aposition here we're going into September, They're
going to be cruising to a divisiontitle and be able to start ahead for
another playoff run. Isn't a crazy, jack? And we kicked this around
our layer as well. Isn't itcrazy? As you began spring training and

(09:07):
you sit here now, there's noway I thought the Dodgers had a chance
to win a hundred games this year. I just didn't think that was possible,
And now it's a very real possibility. Yeah, And I think most
people would have been with you,and not just in spring training, but
at the end of April when theywere below five hundred at times during the
summer when they were kind of teeteringaround in second place, in third place,

(09:28):
and there was one point where theywere only a game ahead of the
last wildcard spot. And yeah, now to see this, like, I
don't think many people within the Dodgersexpected this kind of level for the team
to be in this kind of positiongoing into September. Certainly, not many
people around baseball club this year's teamwould be able to do this, But

(09:50):
that's what happens when you have twoMVP caliber candidates, just enough production from
other guys in the lineup, andeven with time as up down as the
pitching has been, they've gotten justenough. Especially lately this month of August
has been much closer to the kindof team that they I don't know if
they envisioned having, but we're reallyhoping that they could have. Uh.

(10:13):
And and the fact that, yeah, it's come together the way it has
after you know, three or fourmonths of the season, you just don't
see that very often from a lotof teams. You gotta ask what happened
to what happened to the Padres thisyear? Uh? This was very similar
to Yeah, I mean this isvery similar to the twenty twenty one Padres,

(10:39):
and honestly last year's Padres up untilthe last month of the season,
but even after the deadline. Ithink it was right around this time this
year or this time last year whenthe Padres came into La they got swept
and we were writing stories about theyou know, they look more like the
San Diego Padres and the Slam DiegoPadres. And this year has been the
example of that. All the stuffI just mentioned about the Dodgers culture and

(11:00):
guys buying into their roles and guysdoing all the little stuff behind the scenes.
When you talk to people around baseball, you hear the opposite stuff about
what happens in San Diego, andit's what derailed that twenty twenty one season
when they had the fight between Machadoand Fatis and the dugout. And I
think it's a similar sort of rootthing this year, where for as talented

(11:22):
as that team is, they havea good run differential, like they should
not be as far down the standingsas they are, but they're a lot
of close games, a lot ofmoments that matter, and key at bats
in those games. They just don'tdeliver as consistently as the Dodgers and Nights
or other contenders, And that's evenwith them having one of the best from
patients in baseball. But that's howimportant sometimes just the violence and players and

(11:46):
the attention to detail and the treatingevery at bat really seriously, especially when
you have guys in scoring position, especially late in games, especially in extra
innings where the Padres have been reallybad this year and they're owing eleven like
that. Those are the things thatover the course of one sixty two matter
a lot. And it's the thingthat the Dodgers, not just this year,
but over the last dead game, have figured out how to do really

(12:09):
well. And it's something that ateam like the Padres, who are very
talented and as we saw last year, can get very hot for a week
or two in October, but theyhave not been able to show consistently they
can win in the regular season.Yeah, I look at the Dodgers and
the one thing they do, andit's a perfect example that the Padres don't.
The Dodgers just look like they're havingfun. Earlier in the year,

(12:31):
Jack, they didn't seem to havethat identity, and now when you watch
them, they really look like they'rehaving a good time. Yeah, And
the irony of that is, willyou go back to that Division series last
year, it was the Padres whowe were talking about. That was the
more energetic team, That was theteam having more fun, That was the
team that was just it had thebetter vibes or more in the zone.

(12:54):
And yeah, I think with thisyear's Dodgers team, he goes back to
what I've been saying is just thedifferent guys, the different vibes and energy
and strengths that they bring notches tothe field, but also to the clubhouse.
And the chemistry of that team hasreally jailed well together and I think
has helped compensate for some of thetalent losses they've had. Now, again

(13:16):
comments all of this will matter inOctober, we'll find out. The last
couple of years the Dodgers, especiallylast year's team, the Dodgers said like
that that was a tight group thatgot along together really well. It really
helped each other and hitters, meetingsand things like that, and it didn't
translate. But I think this year'steam is as good in that department,
if not even better. And whilethey might not be you know again as

(13:39):
sheer talented as some of the lastcouple of years. I think that you're
starting to see this month in particular, what the blueprint time it looks like,
what their potential is to be ableto go on a deep run.
All right, Jack, great job, Thanks for coming on. Love when
you're on the show. Yeah, anytime, guys. All right, there
goes Jack Harris at the time.Frodey. I don't know if you've heard

(14:00):
about this, but a huge winnerat Yamavaut Resort and Casino at sand Manuel.
Huge one, yes, big timewinner at Yamaba. Talk about it
if they went over a million bucks. Yeah, they were playing a dragon
Link, Panda Magic, a slotmachine and somebody who does not want to
be revealed yet. And I wouldn'twant my name, no neither, No

(14:20):
want a million three plus. Youdon't want them cousins calling, no,
anybody calling a million three playing theslots at Yamavau Resort and Casino at sand
Manuel. The folks down there atthe casino and the resort are thrilled.
You know, they got to paythat money, and they're thrilled that they
had a winner like that. Andwe just wanted to offer our congratulations.

(14:43):
So whoever it was, because that'sa pretty big pot. So way to
go, spot. Yes, Ineed to get a pot like that.

(15:07):
Today when we come back, therewas an incident at a baseball game
in Chicago. Two people were shot. Police didn't know where the gun came
from. Now we do, andwe'll share it. Well ready, let's
keep it going. Huh. It'sa it's a hump day, it's a
fun day. It's a Sunday.Come on, Fred Jose tweets the show

(15:35):
Fred. It's all about David.Fred, It's all Dave Roberts fault.
Get rid of him. Latin's smilingemoji's god as it is. I don't
care they won eighty two games. That guy's a bum. Fire him.
He's doing the best job he's doneas a manager with the Dodgers. You
gotta get rid of him. He'sawful. God, he can't win.
He just can't win. It doesn'tmatter what he does, he can't win.

(15:56):
And this year is his best year. He does it allays mile on
his face, doesn't he You know, you think about some some of the
other managers over the years, rightthat would let it get to him,
whether it be you know, evengoing way back to the old school guys,
but they've even when people are takingshots at him, directly shots at

(16:17):
him, he's just he lets itroll off the shoulders because he knows internally
they know what they're doing, andthey trust him what they're doing, and
not don't let any any noise fromthe outside, uh stop them, because
it's successful. It works. Andyes, sure we would like to have
more World Series titles, absolutely everybodywould. But you can't even get those

(16:37):
titles if you're not in the game. And every year Dodgers are giving themselves
a chance to win it all.You know, look at it like this,
pretty simple. Not pouring salt inthe would be pretty simple. Every
year, the Dodgers are in theconversation every year to the south, depending
on traffic from the valley, couldbe forty five minutes, could be an

(17:00):
hour and a half, there's anotherteam. Yeah, and they're not.
Just think about that. Think aboutwhat it takes to do that, to
be in the conversation every year.Yeah, they think about it. Yeah,
think about it. Those guys downthere and we look, we we
just bashed them, and rightfully soI think we had to rightfully. Sorry,
Yes, and needed sometimes they needwork, yeah, But that doesn't

(17:26):
mean they don't work hard, right, That doesn't mean they don't work hard
at their job. Maybe they're goingabout it the wrong way and made some
some miscalculations, but they work hard. And everybody does work hard. But
man, when you when you lookat what the Dodgers have done and their
success, there's a formula and itworks. And so just working hard doesn't

(17:48):
always get it done. And thefact that they are in this conversation and
I know we're greedy, but man, you don't. You got to sit
back and just appreciate it from afan stand because if you are a diehard
Angels fan and you are that fan, the frustration level's got to be through
the roof because you haven't been inthe conversation every year. You go in,

(18:10):
Yeah with that optimism, but amonth into the season, it's stripped
from you, you know. Andthis year maybe it lasted a little longer
to the trade deadline and got excitedbecause they said we're gonna go for it.
Maybe it didn't work out, butit doesn't work out most of the
time for them. Yeah, youknow, I mean, with all due

(18:30):
respect and not trying to diminish anotherfranchise, the Angels are They're not even
the Seattle Mariners. They're not eventhe Seattle Matters. The Angels aren't.
I don't think they're Kansas City.No, they have a certain level of
restrictions against them too. I loveKansas City has been to two World Series
in one one. Yeah, butin what I'm saying is, if you

(18:53):
live in a certain market, they'renot like Pittsburgh at the beginning of the
year. Look, if you livein Pittsburg, you're excited every time,
Hey, spring training hits. We'reall excited. We love it, love
it, and you know, there'soptimism and excitement going in every year.
But I think we're all, youknow, mature enough to acknowledge that the

(19:14):
Pittsburgh Pirates aren't winning the World Series. Okay, we know that. Sure,
they're optimistic and they make a moveor two. They're not winning it.
We know that. Okay, they'renot there, aren't. The Angels
kind of the same thing, eventhough they have Mike Trout and Showhey,
Otani, you get excited during thisspring, You're happy, you think this

(19:37):
is the year. Are they anydifferent than the Pirates? Maybe they win
more games, not manymore, Butwhat makes them different from the Pirates is
that point for it. The Angelshad expectations. The Pirates don't. So
it makes it even worse that youhave two of the best players and Mike
Trout's on the decline at this pointin time, two of the best players
in the history of the sport. That's not hyperbole. Between Trout and Otani,

(20:00):
you can't even sniff the postseason. They haven't even been part of a
pennant race in the last three weeksof a season since those two guys have
been together. So if in factyou need to be in the conversation at
the beginning, they haven't even beenin a race to the pennant where it's
like, oh, it's nip andtuck. Oh they gotta win if they
win magic number six, the magicnumbers eight, whatever it may be they

(20:21):
have not even been in that conversationfor it. There The point is,
year in and year out, they'renot in the conversation. There are expectations,
that's fair, there are expectations, but they're not legitimately in the conversation.
And that's why what the Dodgers dois so remarkable. They're in the
conversation every year. There's an expectationthat they will perform well in the playoffs.

(20:45):
That would be an expectation for theAngels, the expectations just to play
well because they're not in the conversationfor the playoffs. If the Angels made
the playoffs, that would be ashock, that would be a surprise.
If the Dodgers make the playoffs, that's the expectation for them. So the

(21:07):
expectation for the Angels is, hey, we're pretty good, and then that
would be a surprise. Yeah.I mean, look, we're we're a
month out right, it's barely noteven September yet, and Dodger fans,
it's already they're already getting ready forthe playoffs, right right, that's the
what's on their mind. Yeah, these ready. Yeah, it's a big
series against the Braves coming in thisweekend. But really it's about Okay,

(21:32):
well, let's talk playoffs. Whatthe Dodgers is gonna do in the playoffs?
Who are they gonna match up inthe playoffs? You know, it's
a it's a it's a preview ofthe playoffs with the Brave. I mean,
it's all about the playoffs. Andwe're still thirty days out right,
you know. And to Kevin's point, they have and it's talk about it.
Think about it being involved in arace. Dodgers have already won the

(21:52):
division in our cruising and I'm talkingabout a race and they haven't had a
chance to talk about a Pennant raceor a division race. Yeah, that's
that's difficult. You've got to changethe way you're doing things. Tells you
the difference between a well run organizationand one that's not. That you can
have all the talent in the world. Yeah, it's hard to outrun bad

(22:14):
management or all perform bad management.I think the Angels and Dodgers are perfect
examples of different ends of the spectrumwhen it comes to that. And by
the way, I'm not saying PhilNevin is a bad manager. Managements,
right, and the top not themanager and that's it's the organization. It's
the structure top to bottom. Right, right, it's the infrastructure. Right,
it goes to Yeah, everybody's allexcited about the Jets, but it's

(22:40):
still you can add new players, the Jets may have a good season,
I don't know, but it's stillthe same organization it's been the last ten
years. You know. In life, I always say, people that succeed
are able to overcome their environment. If you can't overcome your environment, then
you make excuse uses. Well,I had a bad you know, bad

(23:02):
deck, bad cards dealt to me. Oh, what do you expect?
This happened to me. If yousucceed to overcome your environment. And in
professional sports, oftentimes the players ona team, the coach, the manager
must overcome their own franchise to win. Yeah, and that is the example
of poor management. When you haveto overcome yourself to win, When the

(23:29):
roadblocks in front of you are placedthere by your own people, that's a
problem. Okay. I do wantto talk about this Rodney because it was
kind of scary. It happened Fridaynight at the White Sox game in Chicago.
Two people were shot. Now,both survived, Both were okay,

(23:52):
there were non life threatening injuries. And the police investigated this and determined that
the shots came from inside the stadium. So that would mean someone had a
gun inside the stadium. Well, you wonder, right, how does that

(24:17):
happen? If you're listening now,you can't believe it either. How in
the world does something like that happen. You've got to go through metal detectors,
you're searched your bags when you gointo the stadium, anywhere anywhere,
because this is the last thing thatthey want to happen. So police investigated

(24:37):
and it was scary. The womenthat were injured forty two and twenty six
years old. Here's what happened.A gun discharged, that someone had it
discharged accidentally inside the stadium. Thatthey've determined that, and they know who

(24:59):
had the gun. So you wonder, how did this happen? Now,
I'm gonna tell you how it happened. And this is from the police report,
right, Kevin, Nobody made thisup. This is the report.
It's not made up. It's sourcedfrom a ESPN Chicago reporter who said this
is from her sources. So thisis not necessarily directly from the police report.

(25:21):
Okay, but this is what shewas told. But this is being
reported. Yes, it was reportedby someone who was in the No,
for sure, by legitimate media.Correct, Okay, it's not a guy
in his basement, this is notno Okay. So here's what happened.
The women were grazed by the bullet. How did the gun get into the
stadium. It was a woman thathad the gun, and she snucked the

(25:45):
gun, passed the metal detectors, hiding it in the folds of her belly
fat. That's how she got thegun in. I need a moment.
That's that's how she snuck it inapparently, and the folds of her belly

(26:11):
fat. Yeah. Now I don'tknow the woman, nor have I seen
a picture. So if the foldsthe fat folds over the gun, the
metal detector doesn't go off. Itdid not go off, apparently. The
woman we're speaking of could best bedescribed as a woman of large girth,

(26:32):
yes, and had so much paddingor insulation that she was able to place
the gun inside the rolls of hergirth, get through the metal detector,

(26:53):
and then the gun, while placedinside the girth, went off. So
so do we know that though wedon't know if it went off when it
was inside the girth and or didshe you know, get inside, get
past the metal detectors and then putit somewhere else And then if this was

(27:14):
jeez, this was accident. Itaccidentally went off? Yeah, yeah,
Like what was her plan? Whatwas her plan bringing a gun into the
game in the first place? Like, what was the That's the scary part
is that we don't know the planwhy she would need to bring a gun
in, Okay, but for itto accidentally go off and hit two people,

(27:36):
clearly she does not need to behaving a gun period, correct.
Well but wait, let me askyou this, and is it a possibility
perhaps she always carries that gun there, she's always got it literally on her
oh and for good and forgot becauseshe always key sit there that she had

(28:00):
it inside the folds of her bellyfat Could that be a possibility if she
was walking down the street. Youknow some people have a holster, uh,
some people will you know, keepit by their ankle. You know,
she kept it navel high and perhapsnavel high I'm just saying, and

(28:23):
perhaps forgot. I mean, we'veheard stories of people going through metal detectors
at the airport and they had agun in their bag and the metal detector
caught it and they said, youhave a gun and go, oh my
god, I forgot, I forgotI had the gun. Well, maybe
it's as simple as that for thiswoman. Maybe she just literally was packing

(28:48):
and uh, just carried the gunand forgot she had it. But now
that what part of it? Whatpart of it? All of it,
all of it, all of it. It's disturbing that because that's that's definitely
a possibility that she forgot the gunwas in the fold of her belly fat.

(29:10):
She'd walk around for days with thatgun there, just didn't know it
and just walked to the game andthen when it went off accidentally, she's
like, whoa wait, wait,oh I forgot to pull that out the
other night. Very well, couldbe a possibility. Do you think she
showers with it? Oh? Imean she's a human holster. If you
really look at it right, well, it just goes to show you she

(29:30):
didn't shower before she came to thegame. Well, no, she would
have pulled it out before that. You don't know the show. You don't
know it came out. It wouldhave came out in the shower. No,
maybe the gun is so embedded becauseof her girth that it was completely
covered and she showered. You don'tknow, I don't know. I mean

(29:52):
maybe really don't want to know.Maybe where it is is like she has
a giant plastic bag and she's coveredthe gun. You don't, no,
do we don't know why she needsit. So many levels it's bad and
said, well yeah, because itso were you saying she didn't know?
And then the whole thing was anIt was a complete accident, like she
didn't go in there with any badintent, all right, it was just

(30:15):
it was she forgot the gun wasin the fold. Yeah, she a
new meaning to the gun. Gunin the fold. I mean, I
don't know. Maybe she sat downand then she goes, you know what,
I want a beer. But aftershe sat down, it's simply moved
the gun a certain where was shestood up and bam, it went off.

(30:36):
You don't know. You don't knowwhat happened. God, two people,
Yeah, one bullet, not sure? Not sure? Oh boy,
I'm just glad if it was ifshe shot herself, she didn't puncture.
I mean, but she didn't shootherself though this year, we don't know.

(31:00):
Just the other woman two people. That's all I know. That's all
I know. It doesn't say ornot. You're almost praying that she forgot
she forgot that she that's where heryou know, she lives in a dangerous
area, bad neighborhood, you know. I mean she wasn't one of the
people who got shot though, thenit wouldn't still be in there, would
it? Well, right, whatit still wouldn't know there if after after

(31:25):
yeah, after after it went off, I'm sure it's out now. But
like, how would it shoot throughher belly fat to hit other people?
Is the question. It seems tome something a little window, little sliver
of light there, all right, yeah, yea of light. Let me

(31:48):
just ask you this, okay, right, it would it would have damaged
her, right right, And maybeshe was one of them, I don't
know. Let me ask you this, okay. Let's say she's carrying the
gun for protection, yea, andinside her you know, yeh, scaring
her so you know you want toprotect yourself. She's carrying the gun,
she's walking down the street. Weknow where she has it held. All
of a sudden she finds herself indanger, right, She's concerned. Seriously,

(32:13):
there's an issue here, and she'sgot to grab that gun. Well,
if it's that deeply embedded within thefolds, how could she even grab
it in time? I mean,if she could go into a stadium and
you didn't even know she had it, that's not going to be like pulling
out of your holster. Overalls,no dresses, but no overalls, no

(32:36):
dresses. I mean, you thinkabout it, She's just like old I
let me get my gun. Holdit's in there somewhere. Hold on down,
Yeah, gotta go underneath the shirtblows or whatever it may be.
I mean, my god, shecould pull a muscle just trying to lift
up the fold to grab the gun. Maybe she's just maybe she's just fooling
whoever's trying to attack her. Say, oh, I gotta it's right here.

(32:57):
I gotta scratch, say hold onor I'll put my hands up.
Let me scratch. Scratch this itch. No, but then she's got to
go like this, Let me scratchit. Let me find the shitch.
Hold on. Bad guys notoriously willhold if you ask them, Yes,
they will, they will if youask them politely. Oh I must tie
my shoe. All right, Well, thank god, the mystery has been

(33:21):
solved. Oh my god, Yeah, really, exactly has it? How
did she get it in there? Why did she bring it in there?
And we still got to figure thatout. Follow up on that, Fred,
before and before you ask me,Fred, I'm not booking her for
the show. I'm just gonna saythat you were Kevin. Can you find
her? Yeah? If that wouldbe a tremendous story. Hey, there's

(33:42):
good news after that. There's goodnews. Look, you didn't want me
here at the beginning, so Ileft. You didn't want me here,
But I'm willing to come back.Let's talk about that. Did come I'll
talk to him. Yeah, comeon, Freddy, Little Thinn, Lizzie,

(34:07):
Yeah, boys up back in town, fred Yeah, sure, Roddy,
Pete, Fred Rogan, Wednesday upDay, come on, next hour.
We'll have some spirituality, have somespirituality which we desperately need. And
oh yes, Isaac Lohan Cron willjump on at the end of the show.

(34:28):
Chargers cutdown day. Who's there?Who's not? A surreeper day?
Surprising name not there? And wewill get into that next hour anyway.
You know, I think Ben Simmonssigned one of the great contracts in NBA
history, one of the great contracts. He's making thirty million dollars a year
and he can't shoot. That wasjust terrific. In Philadelphia, he couldn't

(34:52):
shoot so much so that they didn'tplay him. Of course, he's a
guard that handles a ball and supposedto shoot, but he doesn't shoot.
He couldn't shoot. He had ametal block. So he was there.
Then he didn't play because he hada metal block. They finally, for
their purposes, thank god, we'reable to dump him, and they sent

(35:14):
him over to Brooklyn, which ofcourse there he's really no better than he
was in Philadelphia, but he's makingall this money. It's one of the
great deals in sports. A guygetting paid who really can't do anything.
I gotta give him credit. Whena guy can make that kind of money
and not playing, that's that's okay. You're saying something. So he's been

(35:35):
a complete and total bust. Theyshould have never paid him in the first
place. Brooklyn never should have tookhim. Doesn't matter. It is what
it is, and God bless him. He's getting paid and hopefully he saves
all of his money and good forhim. So then he comes out,
he goes You know, I gottabe honest with you, I wouldn't mind
returning to the seventy six ers oneday. Well, let me put it

(35:58):
like this. I'm sure there arethousands of people who wouldn't mind if you
came back to the seventy six ersone day. Who is that for it?
Everybody? Everybody would mind if youcame back in Philadelphia. You mean
they wouldn't welcome him to open armI don't think so. It's the city
of brotherly love for it. Yeah, well, you know they love guys
to perform. He he developed amental block. It can never get over

(36:20):
it. He just could never everget over it. And Rodney, I
mean, flashes are fine. Flashesare not thirty five million dollars a year.
Six ten that can handle the balland play defense right, but can't
shoot. That's not thirty five milliona year. Yeah, no, it's
really not. Did you play withguys that, at any point in their

(36:44):
career develop these mental blocks and justcould not overcome them? Uh? Yeah,
yeah. There were a few guysI can think off the top of
my head that the closest to meis the without you know, they said

(37:04):
remember the name. There were guysthat had that had issues with fumbling running
backs, that it was in theirhead about fumbling, and so they were
to the point where they were thinkingabout it so much that it would happen
more often and they would see psychiatristsand in different people because they had a
block about that. Yeah, butbut not too much like the shooting part

(37:25):
of it. So it wasn't thatwasn't that drastic. But I know kickers
have gone through those a lot oftimes. It's just like a golfer going
through those blocks where you get theyips and don't know why, but kickers
go through it often. Where youknow, there's kickers that were automatic for
two three years straight and then allof a sudden they have a year where
they can't make a thing and everythingthey kick is sideways. And those are

(37:52):
those are tough. That's why yousee the rise of sports psychologists all the
time, that every team has one, because those things are it's a real
thing and it's it really happens, you know, second life. And right
here closer to Los Angeles, youremember the classic case of that with Steve
Sacks when he plays second Babs yes, yep, yeah, can throw the

(38:14):
ball to first for whatever reason, for whatever reason. Then again he wasn't
making thirty five million dollars a yearlike Ben Simmons is. So I'm here.
I'm sure you know he would welcomea return to Philadelphia. That's his
home. Fred, Why I wouldn'the want to go back home? Okay,
but I think, quite frankly, when his deal's up, he would

(38:37):
welcome a return to anywhere anybody wouldpay him anything. Absolutely, Yeah,
because for all intents and purposes,he's done. Yeah, he's done.
Oh, Pedro in La did Imention it? You won the tickets?
Pedro? Whatt it? Go?Pedro? All right? Next hour,
another set of tickets Braves Dodgers tomorrownight at the stadium, the big show

(38:58):
down, the four games set. You'll be there for the first one,
so stay with us. Those ticketscoming up next hour
