Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now an exclusive interview with David Bassey for Dodger Talk.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
We're live at Fenway Park after the Dodgers hold on
for a five to two win and benk Casparius records
his first career save here in Fenway Park. Then you
come back from that right camp injury and you're thrust
into the fire. Can you just tell us how it
felt to get through that inning?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yeah, you know, tough week obviously, with a little bit
of unknown, but I felt great and to you know,
to get out there in the ninth like that in Boston,
you know, it's pretty much all you can ask for.
And I'm you know, I'm happy when we came away
with the w and it's a really good way to
start a series and a really good way to start
a road trip.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's unusual to see a closer or any pitcher come
into the ninth inning and rely on the sweeper and
the curveball. Why were those two pitches the ones you
were going with?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, I think in a small window, those are you know,
those are my two best pitches matchup wise. I think,
you know, if I executed those well, and you know,
luckily I was able to get the job done. After,
you know, kind of letting those guys get on first
and seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
How did you bounce back so quickly after having to
leave the game the other night.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I felt I mean I felt it the next day.
I've been kind of grinding with the training staff the
past couple of days, but I felt good. And you know,
I think adrenaline helped me out a little bit there.
But it was good to get back out there and
just you know, get a save under our belt and
again it's a great team win.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
How does it feel to have your first career save?
You've done so much in such a short time already.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
No, it feels great. You know, it's pretty cool, just
after like you know, having a little bit of a
step back the last month or so for Doc and
the rest of the coaching staff to put me in
a position like that, So, you know, it means a
lot to me, and I'm glad I got the job done.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Congratulations, you're a fighter.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Thanks Dave.
