Speaker 1 (00:00):
And an exclusive interview with David Bassey for Dodger Talker.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Dave Roberts, two time World Series manager, he has now
led the Dodgers again to the NLS champions Championship. He
has done it every year in his managerial career except one.
Where does this one rank for you?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Dave? You know what, I guess the easy answer is
they're all different. But you know, looking at kind of
the path, this is as tough as a path as
we've been through. But the old adage, iron shipe sharpens iron.
I do think that we're better for all the adversity,
and I think we're playing our best baseball. And for me,

(00:40):
just to see our players coaches celebrate today but understand
that there's still a lot of baseball left is a
good feeling.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
What was your message to the team as you guys
were getting ready to celebrate.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
I think for me it's sort of piggyback the last
message when we clinched the postseason, where it's, you know,
outside of faith and family, this has got to be
the most important six weeks now five weeks of our lives.
And I think that regardless of what we've done before,
nothing matters and it's more about just playing for each other,

(01:14):
trusting each other, and playing for a championship.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It feels like you've got the buy in from the
entire group, whether it's a guy that's a starting pitcher
ready to go into the bullpen. Do you feel like
you got the buy in?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah, the buying's been there. The buying's there, the toughness
from our guys, the talent is there, and it's about
all of us just going out there and executing. And
we got it in thirteen games, and we got to
be prepared to play five more weeks and every day,
every moment, every pitch has got to be of the

(01:45):
utmost importance.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Do you still feel like playing next Tuesday is the
best case for this group?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
You know what, honestly, I don't care. I don't care
where we play, I don't care who we play. We're
prepared to play through our October and that's kind of
how we're wired. So whoever we play, you know on Tuesday,
will be ready.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Love it, Dave, thanks a lot for stopping.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Thanks guys,
