Dodger Talk is sponsored by La CareHealth Plan, providing affordable healthcare insurance to
millions of Angelinos for over twenty fiveyears. And now your voice for Dodger
Talk. Like back, David Vasse. We are live at Oracle Park in
San Francisco after Brent Wisley walks theGiants off with a two run home run

(00:24):
off of Blake Trining in the bottomof the ninth inning to give the Giants
a five to three victory in Gameone of this three game series in San
Francisco. We're with you until eleveno'clock tonight from Oracle Park in San Francisco.
We have phone lines open at eightsix, six, nine eighty seven,
two five seventy. I did havea chance to talk to Max Munsey

(00:48):
today, so we'll give you anupdate on Monsey and where he's at in
his rehab. It was a pleasantsurprise to see him here at Oracle Park
because he did not travel with theDodgers to Chicago and he met them here,
so that means things are progressing inthe right direction. I'll give you
full details coming up a little bitlater in the show. Also, we

(01:10):
had a chance to speak to theman that saved show Aotani's dental work and
also probably saved the Dodgers season insome ways. Javier Herrera, who is
the most famous bat boy slash clubhouse attendant in Major League Baseball. Today

(01:30):
we had a chance to catch upwith Javier before he met the Japanese media
man a big media day for JavierHerrera. So we'll let you hear some
of that conversation, and also we'llget to some mind numbing trade talk.
But let's go back to this game. Obviously, you know Blake Trenton did

(01:51):
not execute a slider and Brett Weisleydid not miss it. Tip your hat
to Weisley, who did not missit in a four hundred foot two run
walk off home run. But tipyour hat to the Dodgers Andy Pohz,
who, as you heard Jose Modadescribed, he saw Pajz take exception to

(02:12):
Camillo Duval throwing a pitch inside anda little stare down from the Dodgers rookie
center fielder out towards the Giant's closerwith a five era and then he attacked
another fastball and hit it for atriple because Halio Ramos closed his glove before
he had it in it and Pajeswas off to the races. Dodgers tie

(02:34):
the score in the ninth inning, and you feel like they have all the
momentum in the world. I actuallythought the Dodgers had a golden opportunity to
tie this game, or at leastcome close to time this game. In
the top of the eighth inning, after show Hao Tani led off the eighth
with a base hit, he beatTaylor Rodgers to the bag. He was

(02:55):
not going to beat Otani to thebag. So you had show Hao at
first base with one out and FreddyFreeman at the plate. Freddy's a contact
guy. He's the most professional hitteryou can find, probably in all a
Major League baseball or at least thisside of Luisa Rise. Freddie Freeman at
the plate, Otani at first basewith a lot of speed. Why aren't

(03:20):
the Dodgers putting show Hey Otani emotionright there? Down a run against Taylor
Rodgers, who is not delivering thepitch to the plate that quickly, and
you start to get the infielders moving, creating more holes. And where Freddy
hit his ground ball to the secondbaseman. If Otani's in motion, he
probably safe. At second base,So I thought that was a situation to

(03:46):
start putting Otani in motion in thetop of the eighth inning. As far
as taking landon Knack out with twoouts in the fifth inning, I understand
the Dodgers process of taking a pitcherout when they haven't proven enough in the
big leagues out after the third timethrough the order. But landon Neck he
had Jorge Solaire down in the countO two, and I feel like he

(04:11):
started to overthrow and try to dotoo much because he saw Anthony Banda warming
up, meaning he knew that Solairewas going to be his last hitter,
because they were going to bring inAnthony Banda to face Lamontway Junior. And
look, I understand the general numbers, third time through the order, it
favors the hitter. But if youlook at landon Neck in just five starts

(04:35):
coming into tonight, he has heldhitters one for twelve third time through the
order. And I thought, youknow, considering the big lead the Dodgers
have, considering they were still uper run, why not give him a
chance to afford himself an opportunity forthe win in San Francisco. But look,

(04:59):
it worked out and I'm not secondguessing Dave Roberts. I was turning
to my left, turning to theright, wondering, Hey, I understand
all this, but why not givehim a chance to show what he could
do in this position? And youknow, Daniel Hudson gave up the go
ahead to run home run to MattChapman. Does that happen if he doesn't

(05:19):
take knack out at that point intime? I don't know. That's a
lot of what ifs. The wholechest pieces move a lot differently, but
I understand the whole third time throughthe order. But I also want to
credit Dave Roberts because he is anextension of the Dodgers' philosophical beliefs. When

(05:40):
it comes to that, he's anextension of that and he has not deviated
from that process. And let's notforget Dave Roberts allowed Gavin Stone to throw
a complete game shutout in Chicago onWednesday night. But look, I covered
the Lakers when Phil Jackson coached them. Phil Jackson is what an eleven time
NBA World champion coach. That doesn'tmean he's above asking the question, why

(06:05):
did you do this? That's allI'm asking why that's not an attack on
anybody. Let's head downstairs right nowto hear from Land and Neck because he
pitched really well. And then we'llget to Dave Roberts and Blake Tringing.
I feel I feel like at thevery beginning of the game, my throw
was like a little off. Wewere we were still making pitches when we
need to, but I was justa little off. And then kind of

(06:27):
got my curve ball going a littlebit, and I think that kind of
like locked in the rest of thethrow, and so after that, like
things felt much much easier. Andthen yeah, fifth inning, you know,
leave one over the plate obviously sometimesit's gonna happen. And then a
couple of singles, but you know, stuff, stuff all good. Dave
said ahead of your adding that thefocus was just going as long as you

(06:49):
can, as hard as you can. How do you just kind of manage
yourself? I guess when that's kindof what's being told to you and you're
trying to kind of either get deepinto the game things like that, I
mean, you just kind of haveto continue to go all out until it's
your time to come out and makesure that you're kind of going all out
every pitch because I mean, yeahagain, like you don't know when your
last pitch is, so I meanone hundred percent just trying to go all
out the entire time and make everypitch like it's going to be your last

(07:11):
one and just keep on going.Really trying to go with that home run
pitch. I was trying to godown in a way and just kind of
leaked a little up middle a littlebit and just kind of came back on
me. What do you has sortof allowed you to sort of know,
obviously being up and down while alsobeing a rookie and trying to get your
funeral, Like, what's allowed youto sort of have the success you've had
thirty gaming since your big career atthis point. I think it's it's just

(07:32):
been kind of continuing to do myroutine and kind of treat every outing the
same a little bit. It's likegetting up here and understanding that you don't
need to do extra. You justneed to make sure that you are executing
your pitches, You're keeping them offbalance and kind of moving things around and
just not over complicating things on yourself. All Right, there's land and NAC
thanks to sports in at LA forbringing us that postgame reaction from tonight's starter.

(07:55):
Nack tonight four and two thirds innings, only gave up a solo home
run in this game to Luis Mattosin the fifth inning, and had seven
strikeouts and no walks. And Ilove the way landon Nac pitches. I
know he's not going to blow youaway with one hundred miles an hour,
but ninety five miles an hour willget it done. And tonight he had

(08:16):
that, and he used his slider, he used his change up, he
used his curveball, and he didnot start to unveil all pitches the first
two times through the order. Thirdtime or second time through the order,
he started to throw more changeups andcurveballs, and that really kept the Giants'
hitters off balance. And you know, if you do a power ranking,

(08:37):
so the Dodger starting pitchers as itis right now, not talking about guys
on the injured list, because let'sface it, we don't know if they're
coming back or when they're coming back. But if you had to do a
power ranking of the Dodger starters, you would obviously start with Tyler Glass now
and Gavin Stone. But right nowI would put landon Nack I had a

(08:58):
Bobby Miller and James Paxton. That'sthe way I feel, That's the way
I love the way he has greatmound presence, he has great confidence in
himself, and he has four differentpitches. He knows how to pitch,
and in this day and age ofthrowers, that's refreshing. Eight six six
nine seven two five seventy is thephone number. Giants beat the Dodgers tonight,

(09:18):
five to three. Let's go outto Redondo Beach. Steve, You're
on Dodger Talk with David vasse Hi. Steve Yo, the real DV.
What's up, Dave? How areyou everything? Well, you know what,
I'm a little salty. I somethinggets under my skin when the Giants
beat the Dodgers, especially up here. I know it's tough to drop one

(09:41):
to the hated ones. Man,I feel you dude, Hey, I
I don't you know I I Myquestion is, I just really want your
perspective, you know, you know, with with Alex Vessia, I really
think that the dude is a gamer, right, and I really like his
demeanor and I want to kind ofI want your take on where where you

(10:07):
see him in this in in ourbullpen and the role that he plays,
And I don't want to kind ofkind of sound like some of the some
of our fans in the years priorwith the Kenley Jansen and our closing our
closers in the in the year's past, you know, like just kind of

(10:28):
you know, when we drop one, what do you get? What are
you saying about? What are yougetting at? I'm not following Alex VESSI,
I don't know. One of themost high leverage relievers on the Dodgers
this year. I mean, DaveRoberts brought him into a basis loaded jam
at Yankee Stadium. I don't knowhow much higher leverage you can get.
I think he's right up there withTrynon Hudson Phillips. He's their number one

(10:52):
lefty and one of the best leftiesin the National League. I would love
to see him step into that role. That's what I'm oh before you want
him to close? Is that whatyou're saying? Yeah, Dave, I
thought I was. I was.I was kind of easy into Okay,
I was hoping you would back meon that. I'm not going to back

(11:13):
you on that. Steve he doeshave four saves though, Steve, so
he has done it before. Anduh, look he has that little crazy
in him that closers need and reliefpitcher's need. But right now I feel
like the Dodgers are in pretty goodhands with Evan Phillips. Well, all
he needs to do is claw's facewith like a little John Rocker, and
then he'll get them get the nod. Hey, he has four saves,

(11:35):
so he's done it, Steve, and he's more valuable putting out fires and
other innings outside of just solely theninth inning. Thanks for the phone call,
appreciate it. Eight six six nineeight seven two five seventy is the
phone number. Brett Weisley. Iknow a lot of these Giants players we
have never heard of before, butBrett Weisley, second basement for the Giants

(11:58):
hit a walk off to run homerun on off of Blake training. Let's
head downstairs right now to the Dodgersclubhouse to hear from Blake trning himself,
who's on sports and at LA.Honestly, I don't even know where the
pitch ended up really hit. Iknow I made two good sliders before that
swinging. This one seems like theright pitch in the right time, so

(12:20):
probably it was more middle. ButI have to go back and I'll get
it. What did you want thatthat she just seemed like you were attacking
low and in that whole about Ofcourse, I don't know keep very much
about Rooky. Yeah, we havescouting reports, so it's all about execution
and sometimes thanks keep that when wedo with this bullpenon just because I've had
a lot of success as of late, and obviously this is just one game.

(12:41):
But I guess what were you kindof seeing from the group and just
kind of how you guys were executingout there, just like as a whole
tonight. Yeah, I mean Ifelt like I felt like y'agro did a
great job. Fan, they dida great job. I feel like how
you did a good job of attackingthe zone. Maybe there are guys have
of tiss extremely well a year suckslosing. I guess that's about it.

(13:07):
That I don't really know what elseto say. All right, that's Blake
Trnon on Sports at LA. I'mwith you. I'm with you, Blake.
You just did not execute the pitch. There's not much else to say.
And look, that's gonna happen forrelievers from time to time, but
Blake Trining has been outstanding for theDodgers this season. Eight six, six,
nine, eight seven two five seventyis the phone number. Look,

(13:30):
I'm with those guys. I knowthey have fifty one wins and the Giants
are trying to piece it together thisyear forty and forty three. But there's
something so annoying about this stadium andthese the Giants. The Giants, there's
something annoying about them, and man, they really basking it when they beat

(13:52):
the Dodgers, especially in dramatic fashionlike they did tonight as Blake Trining and
the Dodgers go down to Brett Weisleyand the San Francisco Giants tonight at Oracle
Park five to three. When wecontinue here on Dodger Talk, we'll get
to some mind numbing trade talk. There's more names being thrown out there around
the league about possible trade targets. We'll also get you an update on Max

(14:15):
Muncie, and you'll hear from themost famous bat boy this side of anywhere.
Javier Herrera joined us on the pregameshow. He saved Otani's life in
Chicago Wednesday night and it went viral. You'll hear from Hovey later in the
show as we're taking you to eleveno'clock on Dodger Talk Live from Oracle Park

(14:37):
after the Giants beat the Dodgers fiveto three on air at AM five seventy,
online at amfive seventy, LA sportsdot com, and available by podcast
on the iHeartRadio app. This isDodger Talk with David Bassan. Pies rips

(15:00):
the ball left center field. Runningafter it is Ramos Huick cannot make the
catch, it goes to the wall. Pot has going for third to throw
over there, not in time, and the Dodgers have the tying run on
third base with nobody out. TheDodgers wearing business. In the top of
the ninth inning, Andy pat Haswith the leadoff triple off of Camillo Duvall,

(15:26):
set up Jason Hayward's sacrifice fly totie the score at three. The
Dodgers would send it to the bottomof the ninth inning tiede but Brett Weisley,
Yes. Brett Weisley hits a tworun walk off home run against Blake
Trining and the Giants get the winfive to three. In Game one of
this three game series. This isDodger Talk. David Vase live in San

(15:50):
Francisco with you until eleven o'clock tonight. Daniels Jewelers they are the official sponsor
of the Trip around the Diamond.Stop by any Daniels location and say home
run for your free team bracelet andfifty dollars gift card toward any purchase of
ninety nine dollars or more. Daniel'sJewelers own the Dream. Eight six,

(16:11):
six, nine eighty seven, twofive seventy is the phone number. All
right, had a chance to talkto Max Munsey when I went down on
the field around two point fifteen thisafternoon. I was surprised to see Max
Munsey doing his pregame drills with DinoEbel. And when Max came back to
the dugout, I said, Hey, are you swinging the bat yet?

(16:34):
He said, yes, I am, David. I said, Max,
would you like to tell me whenthe first day was that you swung the
bat? Well, wouldn't you loveto know that? David? Uh So,
he did let me in on thisthat he was taking swings inside today
in the batting cage. So that'sa good thing. And if you go
back to the last homestand if youwere listening, I reported that Max relay

(16:59):
to me as well that once hestarts swinging, he would return in two
weeks, which lines up when he'seligible to come off the now sixty day
injured list. In case you don'tknow how the sixty day IL works,
after you're placed on the fifteen dayIL, it's not like you're adding sixty
more days to the already existing amountof fifteen. It goes back to the

(17:22):
date that you were placed on thefifteen day IL. So Max Monsey's first
eligible day off the sixty day ILwould be July fifteenth, which, as
you know, is the first dayof the All Star Break. So more
than likely he will be back thefirst game back after the All Star break,
and that would be against the BostonRed Sox on Thursday night at Dodgers

(17:47):
or Friday night at Dodgers Stadium. So expect Max monsely back after the All
Star break when he's eligible. Butthe good news is he's swinging the bat
and hopefully he does not have anysetbacks. Eight six six, nine eighty
seven two five seventy is the phonenumber. By the way, I feel
like we all appreciate Max Munsey andhow he fits in this lineup a lot

(18:08):
more since he's been out since Mayfifteenth. His OPS when he went on
the IL was eight hundred. TheDodgers combined third basemen that have tried to
fill in for Monthsey since then isin the four hundred range, so nearly
half of an OPS at third basefor the Dodgers since Mounsey went on the

(18:30):
IL. And speaking of players andhow they fit with the Dodgers, obviously
we're getting closer to the July thirtiethtrade deadline, almost exactly a month away,
and Garrett Crochet seems to be onthe top of a lot of teams
list. I'm hearing Dodgers Padres, and there's one more team that I heard,

(18:52):
Dodgers Padres. I forgot who elsethe third team was, but I'll
remember that also Chris Bassett of theToronto Blue Jays. He's having a very
good season with Toronto. He maybe on the trade block because the Jays
are sinking fast. And there's ascenario where the Dodgers already have opened the
lines of communications with Ross Atkins whenthey made that trade for Cavin Bigio.

(19:17):
I find it hard to believe whenAndrew Friedman called Ross Atkins about Cave and
Bigio that none of his other playersever came up. So the lines of
communication are already open between the Dodgersand Blue Jays, and maybe that makes
it easier to pull off a tradewith the JS for Chris Bassett and maybe

(19:37):
Bo Bischett. You know, everybodythinks Bo Bischett is the savior for the
Dodgers. I'm not sure, butChris Bassett certainly would fit the bill of
a starter that can make a playoffstart if necessary. Garrett Crochet would be,
above all else, the number onechoice out there on the trade market

(19:59):
the White If they want to tradeGarrett Crochet, they certainly will have a
bidding war for him because he's probablythe best starter available at the trade deadline.
But Chris Bassett, a right hander, keeps the ball down, actually
made his name up here in theBay Area pitching for the A's and got
a big contract from the Blue Jays. Now. Also, maybe the Dodgers

(20:22):
are considering another bullpen arm, lefthanded. Tannor Scott from the Marlins is
a name that's out there. PeteFairbanks from the Rays, our old Frank
Kenley Jansen, Yes, his nameis still out there. And how about
Kyle Finnegan of the Nationals. Wehad a caller a couple of weeks ago
implore me to consider Lane Thomas, the right handed hitting outfielder for the Nationals.

(20:45):
How about a Kyle Finnigan and LaneThomas trade and a guy I think
that could help the Dodgers. I'mnot sure the Angels would trade with the
Dodgers, but a guy that certainlycould help their infield offense would be Louis
Renhifo. And remember, the Dodgersand Angels had a framework for a trade
back in twenty twenty where the Dodgerswould have traded Ross Trippling, Jack Peterson,

(21:08):
and Andy Pajez for Taylor Ward andLuis Renhifo back then. So if
the Dodgers like Renhifo, then he'sonly become a better Major leaguer since then.
You would imagine they still believe hecould help them. So we'll see
whether or not they believe the Angelswould make a trade with them for a

(21:29):
player like Louis Renhifoh. Look, the Angels the White Sox, they need
talent in their organization. I don'tthink they should be opposed with trading for
anybody or with anybody in their positions. Eight six six nine eight seven two
five seventy is the phone number speakingof the White Sox. Gavin Stone on

(21:49):
Wednesday night pitched a complete game shutout, but he was overshadowed by Dodgers bat
boy and clubhouse attendant Javier Herrera, who was caught on camera by a Japanese
network saving Otani's life and basically hisface. A check swing by Keik Hernandez

(22:10):
sharply went into the Dodgers dugout whereOtani was standing on the steps near the
batrack, and sitting right in frontof him was Hobby Herrera, who very
calmonly just grabbed the foul ball andhanded it to the authenticator like he did
not save show hey Otani's life andHobby joined us on the pregame show talked

(22:32):
about how close the dugout is tohome played out there in New Komiski Park,
the dugout at guaranteed rate field, very dangerous angle there, so you
had to be on your toes. Can you take us through what you saw
and what Otani told you after yousaved his life. So, I mean
it's pretty close by. It's whattwenty feet maybe twenty five feet from home

(22:56):
plate to the dugout, so Ihad to keep my eyes wide open,
be aware of anything. So Ithink the first the first game, Crochet
was pitching. He was throwing hard, and he stood behind me saying like,
oh, I don't want to Hedidnt say anything, but I knew
he didn't want to get hit.But I did tell him, like,
don't worry, I'll protect you.I got your back. And then game

(23:17):
three in Chicago, I caught thatline drive and the night when I caught
it, he turned around. Iturned around and gave him knuckles and I
told him I told you, Igot you. And then he was happy
about that. Man, it wasso smooth too. You didn't make a
big deal about it. You caughtit and you handed it to the authenticator.
Yeah. Yeah, I mean itwas a foul ball. I mean,
the game's still going nothing really,no one got hurt. That was
the best part. I did myjob, all right. So after that,

(23:41):
we saw each other after the game. By the time we saw each
other, things kind of got wentviral. How many texts did you get
from around the league, from formerDodgers current Dodgers about how it went viral.
I got a good amount of textsfrom family friends, even people that
I don't even know, to behonest, but they're not in my context.
But David probably did reach out TPJ. T. Turner, Justin

(24:04):
Turner reached out. Catboy reached out, you know, just saying good hands,
like, you know, saying that, yeah, save, I saved
Show his life. But I thinkhe probably you know, I think he
probably would have avoided a little bit. But you know, I did my
thing. Yeah you did your thing. Javey Herrera, and he deserves to
have his name out there not justDodger bat boy, because he's much more

(24:27):
than that. And Javier has beenwith the team for over fifteen years as
a clubhouse attendant, and ever sincethe pandemic started, the Dodgers have been
traveling their clubhouse attendants to serve asbat boys. Brandon, Javier have been
part of it. Joe been partof it. But Javier is the guy

(24:47):
that travels a lot, so he'sa great guy. Certainly deserves all the
shine he gets over this because howmany of us or how many bat boys
out there with no glove would havebeen able to just commonly have the catlike
reflexes to catch the ball and notlet it hit your seven hundred million dollar

(25:08):
DH Pitcher Superstar Show. Hey Otani, I wonder you know everybody says,
is Otani going to buy him aPorsche? You know, I kind of
feel bad for sho Hey because everybodyfeels like if you do something nice for
him, or you save his lifelike Javier did that he owes you a
Porsche, like he sent to JoeKelly's house, I guess I would say

(25:33):
what Hobby did deserves a Porsche morethan just giving up number seventeen like Joe
Kelly did. So I guess incontext, I feel like what Hobby did
his actions were more representative of gettingsome sort of reward. But I mean,
I guess he was just doing hisjob. And I know Hovey does

(25:55):
not want anything. He's uncomfortable withall this attention. He was shocked that
the Japanese camera crews were filming everystep that he took today and in fact
had to have a press conference withthe Japanese media after he talked to us.
So, congratulations to Javier Herrera andwow, show. Hey man,

(26:17):
this guy saved your life, nodoubt about it. Eight sixty six nine
eight seven two five seventy is thephone number. Dodgers fall to the Giants
tonight, five to three, andcoming into this road trip, six game
road trip, three against the WhiteSox and three more Here in San Francisco,
Rick Monday and I were talking aboutthis and we both agreed what realistic

(26:40):
records should the Dodgers have on thisroad trip, and we both said five
and one. Sweep the White Soxand take two out of three from the
Giants. No matter how good orbad the Giants are, this is a
tough place to beat them, aswe saw tonight, and with Logan Webb
going tonight, the Giants needed thegame because they're going with a twenty six

(27:03):
year old rookie, a left handerand Eric Miller tomorrow. They are undecided
on who their starter is on Sunday, so they needed that win. Especially
with Tyler glassnow on the mound forthe Dodgers tomorrow. You would imagine that
and at four fifteen, by theway, where shadows come into play,
Glass now is tough enough to hitthis year without having the advantage of shadows.

(27:26):
So the Giants really needed this game, and in my opinion, I
feel like the Dodgers win the nexttwo games of this series and deliver that
five to one record on this roadtrip. Eight sixty six nine eight seven
two five seventy is the phone number. Giants walk it off thanks to a
two run walk off home run byBrett Weisley off of Blake Trining tonight.

(27:48):
And speaking of uh, you know, power rankings of starters and what took
place in Chicago. Gavin Stone,Wow, the Dodgers' first complete game shutout
since Walker Buehler did it back intwenty twenty two. In spring training,
I had mentioned to you that Iwas a big believer in Gavin Stone.
If there was an award for thebest pitcher in spring training this year,

(28:12):
it would have been given to GavinStone. Player of Spring Training would have
been given to Andy paj Haz.So both of these rookies have really earned
their opportunity and they have both ranwith it. And Gavin Stone outstanding pitching
the contact during the past off season. He got bigger, he got stronger,

(28:33):
He came up with two extra pitches, including his two seam fastball.
He has been outstanding and so humbleand such a great guy. And our
guy calling ye back of the Burbankstudios heard Gavin Stone on with Petro some
Money and wow, I'm number onehumble that Petro some Money would keep the
receipts on how high I was onGavin Stone since spring training. And also,

(28:56):
man, I'm floored by what VingStone told those guys about me.
That's funny. Uh. No,David is a great guy. Immediately whenever
I came up, you know,we connected and and started talking and got
to know each other pretty well. And and like I said, he's a
great guy. And earlier in theseason, actually he he I told him

(29:21):
that my favorite player when I wasgrowing up was David Exton, and he
actually set it up to where Icould FaceTime David and get to talk to
him a little bit. So thatmeant a lot to me. And uh
and I'll forever be grateful for that, just because you know, David was
my favorite player growing up. Butno, he's He's a great guy.
I love him to death. I'mso glad that he's in our clubhouse all
the time. I don't know,I don't know what he saw in spring

(29:45):
training, but Uh, so like, uh, we've always connected and he's
always he's always liked me, andI've always liked him. So he's probably
just giving me some you know, props in spring training. But yeah,
that's cool with him to say, yeah, Gavin Stone, damn man,
you're gonna make me cry Gavin Stone. After hearing that, Man, I

(30:06):
love Gavin Stone. Great kid, easy kid to root for. And you
know what I saw. I sawa guy that worked really hurt hard during
the off season. I saw ahumble and hungry pitcher in Gavin Stone.
And he has gotten that opportunity. And remember when spring training started, he
was on the outside looking in.If Emmitt Sheen doesn't get hurt, Gavin
Stone may not start the year withthe Dodgers, and he was he had

(30:32):
to earn his opportunity and he did. And opportunities come in a lot of
different shapes and forms, and nextman up is always a great opportunity.

I guess, uh, I guessan All Star nod is not out
of question here now Tomorrow it willbe Tyler Glass now on the mound for
the Dodgers, trying to beat GavinStone's era. Right now, Glass now

he's going up against southpaw Eric Miller, a twenty six year old rookie
who is a college pitcher out ofStanford. He has made seven starts in
his Major League career this season andMorongo Casino Dodgers on deck begins at three
o'clock with first pitch at four fifteen. That'll do it for us tonight on
