Speaker 1 (00:01):
The one thing about this gene is the invisible and
tangibles that they have.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
This teen is really becoming a family. Let's not play
one on Tom.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Let's wind it.
Speaker 4 (00:11):
I love writing to these guys after the show.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Just thank you, give me are.
Speaker 5 (00:15):
Your attention, your fire and not a pisson.
Speaker 6 (00:17):
This is world champion, Dodgers, world champion for a.
Speaker 5 (00:21):
Small soft time. They get up people. What they want
to die in a row two is special. I'm like, yeah,
it's not a headache one of them. Come, this ball's gone.
You ready to go?
Speaker 6 (00:32):
Sure, old time to grab your phone to get in
on the show called eight six six nine eighty seven
two five seven and go to the show. And now
your host of Dodger Talk, Tim Kakes.
Speaker 7 (00:45):
Good things happen when the Dodgers hit home runs. They
hit four of them this afternoon in San Diego as
the Dodgers pound the Padres at Petko Park eight to two.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Hi, everybody, Tim Kate's with you here for Rodger Talk.
Speaker 7 (01:00):
Eight six six, nine eighty seven to two five seventy
is a number chump on boards. Four lines are a
wide open right now, got one line open? Eighty six
six nine eight seven two five seventy as the Dodgers
get a much needed win in San Diego.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
After dropping the first two games of this series.
Speaker 7 (01:19):
In San Diego, the Dodgers found themselves a game back
in the division.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
They needed a win.
Speaker 7 (01:25):
To drive back home tie to top the division with
thirty one games to go, and that's exactly where we
stand right now. The Dodgers and Padres both seventy four
and fifty seven on this season, both with thirty one
games remaining in this twenty twenty five regular season. However,
(01:46):
they won't face each other the rest of the regular
season the way the schedule makers made it. The Dodgers
in fact, will not see the Padres until October. The
Dodgers will see more of the Giants than they will
anybody else coming forward. They get the Colorado Rockies for
three more and they got an East Coast road trip
still to make. The first week is September and Pittsburgh
(02:07):
in Baltimore. So thirty one games to go, a month
plus for remaining for the Dodgers, and they find themselves
now in a fight for first atop the NL West.
Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is
the number the Dodgers struggled on Friday nights. They struggled
to hit home runs, they struggled to slug, they struggled
to put together hits, and they lost two to one,
(02:29):
the only run coming on an Alex Freeland solo home run. Yesterday,
the Dodgers ended up losing a game in which they
had very few opportunities as well on offense, and last
night after the game, Dave Roberts made it very clear
that the approaches and bats need to be better by
this Dodger lineup. Miguel Rojas also said the same thing,
that the guys have to have a better approach up
at the plate, and that's exactly what the Dodgers had today.
(02:52):
From the get go showy Otani a leadoff walk, Mookie Betts,
the second batter of the game, comes up and on
an too slider, hits the ball to right center field
for a base hit. Freddie Freeman comes up, finds himself
in a three to one count, takes a strike looking
on a curveball, and then let's a four seam fastball.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Up in the zone. Go by for ball four.
Speaker 7 (03:17):
Didn't chase the pitch, didn't try to do too much,
loaded the bases with nobody out, passing the baton when
the Dodgers pass it to the next guy behind them
in the lineup, whether getting on.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Base, taking a walk, good things happen.
Speaker 7 (03:33):
Unselfish at bats lead to positive results for this Dodgers team.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Just the facts. That's why they were so good a
year ago.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
That's why they were so good in Game one of
the World Series, getting Freddie Freeman just that at bat
with the bases loaded in the tenth inning, passing the
baton onto the next guy.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
They did that early on.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
Unfortunately, Teoscar Hernandez got robbed of a grand slam by
Ramon Loreano with the bases loaded and nobody out. So
what could have been a four to nothing Dodgers lead
with nobody out in the first turns out it's a
one to nothing Dodgers lead on a sack fly from
ta Oscar Hernandez, and in my opinion, that was a
pivotal inning for the Dodgers, not getting after Nick Pavetta.
(04:16):
More Nick Pavetta struggle with his control and the Dodgers
loaded him up sackfly, only to see Alex Freeland and
Andy pot Haz both strike out to end the inning.
Dodgers got one run off Nick Pivetta, who threw north
to twenty pitches in that first inning.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
He would still go six.
Speaker 7 (04:34):
He threw twenty plus in the first inning and still
managed to give him six innings before turning it over
to the bullpen.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
But the Dodgers kept fighting.
Speaker 7 (04:42):
Freddie Freeman came through with a huge home run to
tie it in the six and then the Dodgers put
together one of those crooked number innings in the seventh,
and what a magical thing it was to see them
do it. Pa has a single, Michael Confordo three straight
balls from Jeremiah Strada, took a strike, fouled off two
and on a three to two pitch.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Hey, it was a four seam fastball up on the zone. Okay,
it was up borderline called ball four. Will take it.
Speaker 7 (05:12):
Miguel Rojas couldn't get a bun across, but the next batter,
Dalton Rushing, very same situation he was in Friday night,
albeit the seventh inning today, it was the eighth inning.
On Friday Night, Dodgers were down two to one, runners
on first and second, and Dalton Rushing hit into a
double play to end the inning. In the eighth, huge
(05:32):
that the Dodgers couldn't get the hit. Get shoe Aotani
up to the plate on Friday night. Fast forward to today,
tie game two to two, facing the Padres bullpen, seventh inning,
runners on first and second, one out, and Dalton Rushing
gets the count to three to two and now on
a three to two slider over the middle of the plate,
(05:53):
he crushes it for a three run home run. It
was a great at bat by Dalton Rushing. But here's
what also the thing to take away from it, And
I think Jose Moto was the one that pointed it out.
In the Clubhouse show, Dalton Rushing after Miguel Rojas flew
out to center, looked back at the manager, Dave robers
As to say, am I going out there?
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Or are you gonna pitch it for me? With Dalton?
With Will Smith? And he's stuck with Dalton Rushing.
Speaker 7 (06:22):
Now, based on the text I got from people, they
weren't too happy about that in the moment.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
But funny how ninety.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
Seconds later, after a three to two slider is crushed
over the wall for a three run home run, those
same people who will reaching out to me via text
saying why aren't we hitting Will Smith for Dalton Rushing.
We're saying, huge hailm run for Dalton Rushing. Way to go,
Dalton Rushing. So that's how it is being a Dodger fan.
(06:50):
You like to second get your second guest, yourself, the manager,
and then when you're wrong, you just kind of move
on and say, hey, good job Dodgers. Well, the Dodgers
did a great job in this seven thintings, scoring five runs,
including Dalton Rushing's three run home run and then the
two run home run from Freddie Freeman. Mookie Betts on
base four times, he was three for four, just a
great afternoon. And then Shoeyotani quickly Shoeyotani apparently had a
(07:13):
heckler right next to the Dodger dugout, sitting front row,
right next to the on deck circle, a bigger guy.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
We're in a Padres jersey.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
And after he hit the home run, the Sports at
La cameras showed Otani as when Dodgers hit home runs,
they come back to the dugout and they get the
sunflower seed shower from Taoscar Hernandez before he got it,
or right kind of as he was getting it, he
made a B line to his left and went over
(07:46):
and made a effort to shake the hand of the
fan and then the one handed slap on the back
as he said goodbye. Dave Roberts was laughing to Oscar
Hernandez was laughing, and Shoeyotani then went back into the
Dodgers dugout. He had a nice little moment there. The heckler,
who apparently had been getting after him. Shohy got the
(08:07):
best of him with that home run, his forty fifth
of the season and the ninth inning, and they wanted
to make sure he went back over and tell the heckler,
thank you, thank you for helping me hit that forty
fifth home run, and the Dodgers get the win, eight
to two over the Padres eight six six nine eight
seven two five seven. We'll here for the manager, Dave
Roberts coming up in just a little bit. Let's go
out to the phones. Alex in La Alex your first up.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
How you doing pretty good? Sam?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
How you doing?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Man?
Speaker 8 (08:32):
Win? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (08:33):
There a huge win, a huge win, Alex. So they're
down two games to the Padres. The psyche of this team,
I don't know where it would be at coming back
home against the Reds tomorrow night. Now you're starting to
feel good about yourself. You run for eight runs, you
hit four home runs, you have a completely different mindset
right now.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Yeah, it's a lot.
Speaker 9 (08:54):
Of a lot of home runs. Apparently the Padres will
heal home runs like that. And it's great to see
Dolton Rushing do what he's been doing, doing good, doing good.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Today at the plate.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
And I just wanted to touch on one thing I
was hoping to have Dave assay on so he could argue.
Speaker 8 (09:09):
With me.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
Right now listening is he's sitting in traffic, probably on
the five in del Mar, but.
Speaker 9 (09:17):
I've been I just wanted to get this across everyone's saying,
like Mookie Betts go to right field just because of
the whole play he's play style and how he's been something.
I don't want to say anything about his play I
just want to go back to postseason, how he's made
a lot of great catches in right field and a
lot of defensive host hose downs. I mean, one of
the greatest cat one good catch in the World Series
was when that Yankee fan tried to rip his arm
(09:40):
off right and that was a foul. Yeah, and thea
Oscar hosing down. I think he was standing in left field.
When Severalone comes back healthy, what's the possibility maybe best
going back to right field. I know they're saying it's
going to be Pa, but Bets and right field and
maybe Pi center because I probably has had some great
it plays in center field. And then a combination between
(10:03):
KEYK and Kim in in shortstops.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Yeah, not gonna happen, Alex, not gonna happen.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
I appreciate it that that ship has sailed, and you
can talk about all you want still. But Mookie Betts
was on with David Vase just a couple of days
ago here on the Dodger pregame show. You can podcast
the interview. Mookie's not going back to right field, and
that report by the La Times in Denver last week
was not even close to being accurate. He was in
there just talking postgame with his manager, and the general
(10:29):
manager happened to come in, Andrew Friedman, and he does
that a lot. MOOKI addressed it and says there's no talk, none,
ons soever about him going back out to right field.
That being said, I'm old, as the kids like to say,
I'm old enough to remember I'm old enough to remember
when everybody was getting on Mookie because of his offense
and has struggled, and he's got to go back to
right field because it's just gonna make his offense better.
(10:51):
Because he's so worried on playing shortstop, go back to
right field and let him, you know, stop thinking about
playing defense so much so he can get his hitting right.
Speaker 8 (10:59):
Well.
Speaker 7 (10:59):
Mookie Bets had three hits today for the Dodgers. Mookie
Bets was three for four, including in a walk, on
base four times. After his rough stretch since August fifth,
Mookie Bets now hitting near three point fifty three forty
eight to be exact, since August fifth, hitting three forty
eight is Mookie Betts. So yeah, he's turned it around
(11:22):
at offensively, and he is not going out to right field.
He is playing shortstop the rest of the season. Eight
sixty six, nine eighty seven two five seventy May. My
guy Blake is checking in from Colorado.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Blake.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Dodgers get the win today. Man, that was a big win,
wasn't it.
Speaker 9 (11:39):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yes, it was? When, yeah, it was. When the offense plays,
they are on on Beata Lowe.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
They really are.
Speaker 7 (11:49):
When Freddie Freeman does his thing, when you get shoey
Otani with the cherry on top, with that huge home
run number forty five on this season.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
But how about Dalton Rushing.
Speaker 7 (11:58):
Love it for that young man after what happened on Friday,
called Blake. He comes back today and gets the three
run home run. That's a great feeling for him.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yes, and he had a great he had a really
good road twamp.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Indeed he did.
Speaker 7 (12:14):
And how about Yoshiyamamoto today with six really good innings
kept the Dodgers in the game. It was two too
until they erupted for those five runs in the seventh inning.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
He gets the win.
Speaker 7 (12:25):
The Dodgers' bullpen comes in and does their job. Blake,
don't look now, but the Dodgers. The Dodgers are tied
with the Padres atop the NL West with thirty one
games to go.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Are you getting nervous, Blake?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
No, I think we're going to do it. I think
we're going to win the road series again.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
Yeah, I'm I mean just a little bit, not a
little bit nervous about the Padres. It is tied, thirty
one games to go, and the Dodgers and Padres tied.
The Padres haven't been in first place, this deep end
of a season in forever, Blake, probably.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Older than you.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
The dogs have got it. They have got it the
past couple of years. I think we're going to win
another World Series, and it's going to be a whof
and a division series against the Podways as where we
lose luck in the division series against those Podways. But
I think we're going to do it.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
I hope.
Speaker 7 (13:22):
So your lips to God's ears, Blake. I appreciate it.
Great to hear from you. We'll check with you in
a couple of days.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Who are you going to be back?
Speaker 5 (13:30):
I'm Black.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
I'm back on Wednesday, Blake, So you could check in
with me, check on the postgame show on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Okay, I will. And I want to give my Canda
another shout out.
Speaker 5 (13:41):

more of your phone calls. We'll hear from the manager
Dave Roberts as well. Good day for the Dodgers. They
erupped for four home runs, two from Freddie Freeman Show,
(14:24):
Hey Otani goes Deep and Dalton Rushing provided the big blast,
a three run home run in the seventh inning, the
bust that open.

Dodgers had four home runs in the game today too.
From Freddie Freeman. You heard the Dalton Rushing three run
home run and show hey Otani, who was hitless in
this series until he crushed a fastball from Yuki Matsui
in the ninth inning for his forty fifth home run
(16:23):
of the season, then afterwards went over to make sure
he got after a Heckler who had been getting after
him all game long. As the Dodgers head back home
now for a six game homestand beginning tomorrow night against
Hunter Green and the Cincinnati Reds, well in Long Beach.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
Next up here on Dodge Talks, will go ahead? How
you doing.
Speaker 7 (16:44):
It?
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Was good?
Speaker 11 (16:45):
Hello?
Speaker 5 (16:45):
Go ahead? Will you're on the air?
Speaker 4 (16:47):
Yes, sir, Hey, well let me tell you something. Well,
I don't know, thanks for taking my call and all
this stuff, but man, we need to see this every day.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
Man.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Thirty one to er would be nice, go on, defeat it.
They need to send a message, you know.
Speaker 7 (17:01):
So, Yeah, thirty one and ZHO would be awesome.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Well, I think you're hearing yourself back there on the radio.
It'd be nice.
Speaker 7 (17:08):
I just want this to continue, one game at a time.
As far as the offense is concerned, we saw nine
runs from the Dodgers in Colorado last Thursday. You kind
of hoped, all right, they're going to carry that into
San Diego, little momentum offensively after what they did in
the Mile High City. Unfortunately, they scored one run in
the first two games against San Diego. Both of those
(17:29):
runs Alex Freeland solo home runs Friday night and then Saturday.
They come back today and a team that's known for slug,
a team that's known for their home run, did exactly
that and then they score eight runs. They used took
four home runs on the afternoon. You can't live with
four home runs every game. It's just nothing. Something you
(17:49):
can't do. But you could be a team top the
bottom that could produce and you know, have good at bats,
and that's the big thing. Dave Roberts alluded to it
last night, talked about a pregame. He was confident his
team would bounce back. He approached at the plate, he
had bats that you have. You don't have to go
up there and try to hit a home run every
single time. Lead off batter today was shoe a Otani.
(18:11):
He took a walk on five pitches, didn't chase pitches
out of the zone, was very disciplined up there against
Nick Pavetta in his curve ball and drew a lead
off walk Mookie Betts at two count. The very next batter,
didn't try to come out of his shoes to hit
the ball, didn't try to, you know, slug somewhere to
the outfield. No, went the other way with it. First
(18:32):
and second, nobody out. Freddie Freeman, Okay, could be a hero,
come up there, try to hit a three.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
Run home run. Get after Nick Pavetta.
Speaker 7 (18:39):
Instead draws a walk to load the bases and hand
it then to tay Oscar Hernandez. Well, you know what
gave it a ride to one of the deeper parts
of Petco Park. It was Loriano who just went up
and made a nice catch over the short porch in
center field to rob.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Him of a grand slam. Nothing else you can do
about that.
Speaker 7 (18:56):
The next batter you got back to back strikeouts, and
unfortunately the Dodgers is to get the one run. But
that was a good string of at bats for the
Dodgers to start off the game. They just didn't get
their production with the runs that they had hoped to
at least early on against Nick Pavettah at one point
retires sixteen of seventeen before Freddy's Freeman's home run in
the sixth inning, again, twenty plus pitches for Nick Pavetta
(19:18):
got to do a better job of getting after him.
Those were exactly the words for Freddy Freeman that you
can't have him out there in the sixth inning. After
a guy who threw twenty plus pitches to gets to
get three outs, you've got to chase him sooner than
the Dodgers did. As it is, the Dodgers get to
the Padres bullpen and they get to win eight to two.
Trey west La is next up here on Dodger Talk.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
How you doing, Trey Hoi, Jim, how you bet I'm.
Speaker 7 (19:40):
Doing fantastic, doing better that the Dodgers are coming home
winners and at least tied a top the division tray.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Excellent. Hey, just real quick, it's been a while since
we talked. In fact, it was the Tokyo Series. I
called him from Type so it's appropriate. I just want
to shout out TYPEI Taiwan country that is not part
of China, by the way, on its first LLWS since
ninety six, So shout out to them on on a
great win. A great win with the Dodgers today. I
(20:08):
don't think it's outrageous to say possibly the biggest win
of the season so far, considering it's a hot you know,
a division race where we were being two games down,
being back even owning the tiebreaker beating the Podres, which
always makes me happy. Just a quick question, I like
what I've seen from Alex Call. What are your thoughts
on a lineup with getting him some more bats and
(20:28):
getting him in the mix a little bit more.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
Well, it's gonna be interesting to see how many at
bats he gets moving forward, Tray and I appreciate the
phone call. Is that keyk Hernandez is coming back and
Key g has been playing left field in his minor
league rehab assignment? Is that the plan to have him
playing left field against left handed pitchers. Is he going
to now take the everyday spot of Michael Conforto.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
I don't know. I don't know what the plan is.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
And now we're getting guys healthy, these players like the
Bubba Kennedy's, the Alex Calls of the world. Now you
traded for Alex called to for reement. So it's not
like they're gonna, you know, send him down or DFAM.
But I don't know what his role is going to
be moving forward. It's certainly going to be a guy
off the bench and do what he did today, hit
a double down the right field line, get some starts
on occasion we know he's really good against left handed pitching.
(21:15):
That was his MO when they traded for him. But
we've also seen him improve his average against righties, so
he can do it both ways. And I'm not opposed
to him getting more at bats. He's great defensively. I mean,
I have no problem putting him in left field or
right field if you're Dave Roberts hitting him eight or
the ninth in the in the bottom of the lineup.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
He's got some speed if you can get on base.
Speaker 7 (21:33):
Once you turn that lineup over back to show hey Otani,
I mean, good things can happen with him in the lineup.
I just don't know how many starts he gets and
how many at bats he's gonna get moving forward. Thirty
one games to go. Every game is gonna be huge
for this Dodger's team going forward. And they got the
Reds coming to town, and you're thinking, ah, the Reds Now.
The Reds are out of it in the NL Central
(21:55):
the thirteen games back.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Of the Brewers.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
They are, but they're only a game and a half
back in the NL wildcard race behind the Mets. This
is the cool thing about the wild card and a
lot of people hate it. A lot of people love it.
I like it because it keeps baseball interesting. At this point,
think about where this sport would be here With cut
down Day coming up on Tuesday. In the NFL, rosters
(22:19):
go to fifty three. We got Week one of the
NFL season coming up in what ten days? You look
at the divisional races. The Blue Jays are four and
a half up in the AL East. The Tigers are
ten and a half up in the AL Central. We
got a race in the NL West between the Astros
and Mariners, but it's a seven game lead for the
Phillies in the East.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
It's a five game lead for the.
Speaker 7 (22:38):
Brewers over the Cubs in the Central, and the Dodgers
and Padres are ten games up in front of the Diamondbacks.
Four out of the six races are over. What would
that be for baseball if there was no wildcard and
nothing for the other teams to play for. Now that
you have a wildcard, and since they've implemented it, you've
get teams like the Yankees, the Royal, the Rangers still
(23:01):
within you know, a fighters chance. You get team fight
the Mets, who are still in it even though they're
not winning their division. You get a team like the Cubs,
you get a team like the Reds, who the Reds
are five games over five hundred and quite frankly, if
there was no wildcard, would be out of it and
they would be just playing for nothing. But now they're
a game and a half back. They come to Dodgers
Stadium tonight or tomorrow hungry. They're a game and a
(23:24):
half back of the Mets. They're right there for a
wildcard spot, probably a year sooner than they thought they'd
be this good. And they got Hunter Green out of
Notre Dame High School on the mound in the series opener,
it's gonna be a three game series in which the
Reds are gonna give the Dodgers their best, and the
Dodgers need to know that. They may say Cincinnati had
crossed their chest on the uniform.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
And it doesn't say Padres.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
You still gotta get up for these games because you're
gonna fight yourself in the NL West. Now tied with
thirty one games to go. Don in the city of
industry with the best pipes in sports talk radio, Don,
how you do O?
Speaker 5 (24:00):
My friend?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Tim Kates feeling great? Who what a wind man? I am?
I am floating, floating and joy, you know, you know, Tim,
it's just so amazing. Uh, the cardiac kids. You know,
it's like a roller coaster ride just when you think,
oh shoot, you know when you know we start out great,
then we like kind of like fade a little, but
(24:23):
then come back boom boom ba boom. Is just amazing.
And you know, it's so funny about what you said
about Otani Otani san you know when he went over
to that fan. It's hilarious because it shows that Dodgers
are such a class act. You know, San Diego, there's
so mean spirited. The guy guys like my shadow and
(24:44):
that manager guy, you know, there's so mean spirited and ugly.
And when the Dodgers can come over there, just shake
that thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh it's just
like you said, just the cherry on top of the
big milkshake. Hey, speaking of milkshakes, what's up with these
crazy uniforms for San Diego? They look like an ice
cream truck? What's going on with them? What do they
(25:04):
call those?
Speaker 5 (25:05):
You know what the camos that they were wearing today. Yeah,
I'm not a fan of those ones.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
I love the camo though, I love the camo tops
they wear on Sundays. Those are fantastic. And again I
bring it up. We brought up a last month. The
Major League Baseball needs to get on board. Start this
right now. Next year for the two hundred and fiftieth
anniversary of the United States, there needs to be a
game at Camp Pendleton, a stadium set up, build bleachers,
(25:38):
have the Marines there, play in front of them, and
both teams wearing camo. Don't have to make it a series.
It can be a series in San Diego in one
of the three games, the middle game of the series
is played at Camp Pendleton. It's something they need to
get done. We talked about all these different games playing
on the infield of a NASCAR track in Bristol, Tennessee.
(26:00):
We're playing at different spots that they build in the
middle of the cornfields of Iowa. Why not build a
stadium at Camp Pendleton and celebrate America's birthday next summer
between the Dodgers and the Padres.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Eric in Hollywood, Welcome to Dodgers Talk.
Speaker 8 (26:13):
Hi doing Eric Dodger, Nick should.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yo Daltain Roschien came through when we were supposed to
come through. Bro I love him, man, Freeland got to
get a shout out of Freeland. Man, he wants to
stay on this team when all these guys come back.
I know he wants to. I love his game. Dodgers
just showed some heart today. Man. I loved everything that
they did. Freddie Freeman his two home runs, Let's go, Yeah,
(26:41):
I loved it. Love that man. Hey, man, this is
the Dodgers that we know, the guys that are battling
and are having some They know how to get things
to do.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
They're World Series champions. And I hear everybody and Dodger talking.
I love all you guys.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Man.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
We're all Doctor fans, We're all Doctor fans hearts, but
we can't change the script. These guys just have to
figure it out, man, Like Miguel Rojas said, we have
They have to figure it out in game. Every game.
They have to figure out the picture and they have
to attack them and attack them. And I think they
did that today. You know, they did it today, and
I think they sound. I think they did fantastic today. Yo, Timmy,
(27:21):
didn't hear you run on? And I know and I
know DV was kind of talking a little bit but
I know you had to work because you're double timing in.
But we would have had you yesterday and you would
have handled the bullets just as much as he did.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Bro.
Speaker 7 (27:35):
I wasn't ducking anybody, Eric, you know I know that.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Yo, Bro, We're gonna come back with a vengeance. I'm
feeling that. I'm feeling this. I'm feeling this. I believe.
I won't stop believing being a Dodger fan.
Speaker 7 (27:52):
And Yo, Timmy, let's go all right, Eric, appreciate the
phone call, Love the energy, love the positivity. I just
hope the Dodgers can carry this energy back to Dodger
Stadium tomorrow night and keep it going with the offense.
Four home runs today two for Freddie Freeman show, Hey
Otany Goes Deep is forty fifth of the season. And
then Dalton Rushing's three run blasts and the seventh thing
(28:15):
and the big one, and a key point is the
Dodgers go on to beat the Padres eight to two.
Let's go back out to Petgog Park. Dave Roberts talking
with the media earlier. Let's heear what he had to say.
Speaker 11 (28:25):
Dave, I asked Dalton Rushing on the field if that
home run was bigger for him or for the team.
Would you say equally important for both?
Speaker 8 (28:32):
I think yeah, I do. I think equally important for both.
Huge hit for Dalton, and that's something where I'm sure
he's going to build off that moment, the confidence, A
big hit to help us get a win today, and
obviously today we needed it and our guys delivered.
Speaker 11 (28:51):
You had been talking last night and before today's game
about two strike approach and competing in the batter's box.
A call didn't go his way in that at BA,
but he.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
Kept going, yeah, and that's just that shows growth. There
was a you know ball down below that he took
and got a pitch that he could handle and drove
out of the ballpark. But I thought, you know, from
Pitch one show Hayes that bad in the first, Mookies
at bad in the first, and Freddy and just all
throughout the lineup. I thought today was more indicative of
(29:20):
what you know, we're going to do, we expect going forward,
and just the fight, the grind, you know, taking what
the pitcher gives you. And then if there's slug there,
there's slug, but it's just a byproduct of good at best.
All day today.
Speaker 7 (29:33):
Yeah, it was great at bats. Great at bats by
the Dodgers early on in this game.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
Real quickly? Is he going ahead? I know you're still
not happy? Is he right?
Speaker 9 (29:43):
I'm still not still not happy that we only got
one out of it, but we got way.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
So I get they led. I'm kya did playing with
my emotion and it was nice.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Meeting you, but we could go.
Speaker 7 (30:00):
Yeah, it was great to finally meet you in person.
We've talked all these years. I didn't get to meet
you years ago, but yeah, it was. It was a
good time meeting you.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
I thank you. Is he we got to go.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
We're wrapping things up here on Dodger and Talk and
we'll talk to you in a couple of days.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Text me, is he got my number? Eightsig? Don't call though?
Is he just don't call? All right? That's gonna do
it for Dodger Talk.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
As the Dodgers get to win in San Diego, a
much needed win eight.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
To two over the Fadres, you go. Hinobu Yamamoto gets
the win go six innings, but the Dodgers.
Speaker 7 (30:29):
Today hit four home runs on their way to a
win in the series finale, and the Dodgers come home
now all toid to top the NL West with the
San Diego Fadres thirty one games to go.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
Dodgers. Back at it tomorrow night with the Cincinnati Reds.
A one hundred green on the Mountain Imachean. We'll go
for the Dodgers.
Speaker 7 (30:44):
Brono Casino, Dodgers on deck. Get started at six, first
pitch at seven.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
Ten.
Speaker 7 (30:49):

and podcasting as well. I have a great safe the
rest of your Sunday afternoons.

Speaker 8 (31:01):
