Speaker 2 (00:41):
Tim kakes Well, good afternoon, and hi everybody, Welcome in
to Morongo Casino Dodgers on Day. Hope you're enjoying your
father's day. Happy Father's Day to everybody out there. Happy
Father's Day to my dad, Steve Case, Happy Father's Day
to Bill Yee. Colin Yee's dad out there as well.
Help they're having fantastic Sunday afternoons. You're Los Angeles Dodgers
(01:04):
forty two and twenty nine on this season, sitting atop
the NL West, all alone in first place. And this
afternoon they go for the series win over the San
Francisco Giants. On Sunday Night, baseball, Dustin May on the mound,
first pitch from Dodgers Stadium. He is coming up in
a little over an hour, coming up here on Morongco
Casino Dodgers on deck. We'll check in with the manager himself,
(01:26):
Dave Roberts, get his thoughts on his team, how they're
playing so far the first two games of this three
game divisional series. We expect to hear from Clayton at
Kershaw coming up in forty five minutes. More on Clayton
just a second, we'll dive deeper into this Sunday night
pitching matchup. We got your Dodgers magical moment and in
just a few minutes we'll head out to the Gallpin
Motors broadcast booth with Tim Neffett and Rick Monday. Well,
(01:48):
last night it was Clayton Kershaw's masterpol per pormance. Seven innings,
no runs, three hits. He struck out five along the way.
Those five strikeouts now put some two thousand, nine hundred
and eighty eight. He is twelve away from three thousand
strikeouts in his Hall of Fame career. He was masterful
(02:10):
last night against that Giants offense. Meanwhile, the Dodgers offense
went to work early. Show hey Otani let off the
bottom of the first with a solo home run to
give the Dodgers a one to nothing lead, his twenty
fourth home run of this season. In this second, the
Dodgers busted it open with a five run inning. Andy
Pie has an RBI single, Michael Confordo with an RBI single.
(02:35):
Then it was Mookie Betts turn.
Speaker 7 (02:37):
There comes the one to one. Bett swingson, drives it
deep to left, this one heading back toward the wall.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
It is off the base of the wall. Pahz whill score.
Confordo right behind him.
Speaker 8 (02:48):
And in those second with a two run double is
lookye Betts, it's five to nothing, don't on.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
A shot by Bets.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
RBI is thirty four and thirty five for Mookie.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
His eighth double of the season at two run double
for the Dodgers, Mookie Bets, and they weren't done. Will
Smith a sat fly with score Show Hey Otani the
Dodgers with five runs in the second goal up six
to nothing on the San Francisco Giants. I Sung Kim
with an RBI single in the third that made it
a seven to nothing at Dodgers lead. In this sixth show,
(03:29):
hey Otani a home run to right center field, his
second home run of the game. That is this third
multi home run game of this season, his twenty second
of his career, and the Dodgers up eight to nothing.
But they weren't done then. Still in the bottom of
the sixth, tay Oscar Hernandez went yard.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
Eight runs, eight hits for the Dodgers. Now single run
on the first, five in the second, single run on
the third, and another run here in tay Oscar plast.
Speaker 8 (03:57):
One day pletfield way sacking done. Tiascar Hernandez absolutely hammers
at baseball.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
He is homered in three straight games.
Speaker 8 (04:10):
It's a two run shot and the Dodgers are.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
In the double digits. It's ten to nothing.
Speaker 7 (04:16):
Oh my, what a shot for Taskar.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Hernandous Taskar Hernandez four hundred and twenty two feet to
left field. That two run shot that was number thirteen
on this season. Now fifty RBI driven in for ta
Oscar Hernandez, and that is the top tier play of
the game. Brought to you by ARCO Quality, top tier
gas for Les Miguel Rojas with homer in the eighth,
the Dodgers up eleven to nothing. It turned into a
(04:41):
laffer he get Hernandez was on the mound, gave up
some runs of the ninth. Anthony Banda had to come
in and finish off the Giants. Dodgers win it last night,
eleven to five. Clayton Kershaw's seven shutout innings for the win.
He's now two to zero Dodgers forty two and twenty
nine on this season, and tonight, on Sunday Night Baseball,
they go for the series win over San Francisco. Dustin
(05:03):
May on the mound and with more we head out
to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth as we welcome in
Tim Neverritt and Rick Monday guys.
Speaker 7 (05:09):
Thanks him and Happy Father's Day as the Dodgers get
set to wrap up this series with the San Francisco Giants,
champs for a series victory today and to go to
two games up. They start today a game ahead of
the Giants at forty two and twenty nine, the Giants
forty one and thirty. After last night's win eleven to five,
and Moll still talking about Clayton Kershaw's performance last night
(05:31):
not only did he go seven innings, becoming only the
second starter for the Dodgers this year to pitch seven
full but he added to a strikeout total, and he
is now just twelve strikeouts away from the magic number
of three thousand.
Speaker 9 (05:44):
Clayton Kershaw last night got everybody's attention. I've already had
a couple of scouts come up to me today talking
about really reminiscing on that game last night. And it
didn't start out all that well. Remember the very first
batter of the Kershaw face to open up the ballgame,
he was out in front, no Bow's two strikes, wound
up walking the first batter, but then two batters later
(06:04):
against the double play ball, he's out of the inning,
and from that point on he was on cruise control.
And he put on a pitching clinic last night on
how to work the hitters and how to observe swings
and take advantage of it.
Speaker 7 (06:15):
Another guy who's putting on a clinic offensively since he's
been in the league is show Hey Otani's two hundred
and fiftieth career home run last night. He is now,
according to Elias Sports, the fastest player in Major League
history to get two hundred and fifty home runs and
over one hundred and fifty stolen basis. He's done it
in nine hundred and forty four games. A rod was
(06:37):
the fastest. Alex Rodriguez did it nine hundred and seventy seven.
Speaker 9 (06:40):
Yeah, it's amazing what he can do. Then he wound
up getting intentional walk, Then he walked on his own
and then hit the second home run of the ball game.
Speaking of home runs, it's nice to see ti Oskar
her name, is now starting to hit the ball very hard.
First pitch thrown to him in the sixth inning a
home run four hundred and twenty two feet. More important
than the number of feet on the home run was
(07:00):
the type of swing now that we're beginning to see
much better time from ta Oscar, and hopefully that's just
a sign of great things to come.
Speaker 7 (07:07):
And let's not bury the lead about today's news. Dave Roberts,
telling the media earlier today that Roki Sasaki is not
going to throw, They're not going to let them pick
up a baseball right now, said it's more of a
comfort thing at this point in time and a confidence
thing at this point in time. And that they are
prepared to move forward as though he's not in the plans.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
For this year.
Speaker 9 (07:31):
And as soon as that was said in that media
room where the press conference is taking place, there was
total silence there for a while. I mean, if you
start to dissect that statement, that is a huge statement
that we may not see him for the rest of
the year.
Speaker 7 (07:45):
And he's still doing baseball activities. We've seen him throw
recent days in the outfield, but again, they're going to
keep the ball away from him right now and we'll
see what happens is the season goes along with Roki Sasaki,
does he come back or does he not? Dave saying,
quote he doesn't feel like he can ramp it up,
unquote right now. And as far as pitching with Otani,
(08:06):
he's going to throw to hitters early next week, not
sure which day, but it'll be early in the week.
And Dave says he's getting anxious to pitch in a
game and it might come sooner than later.
Speaker 9 (08:16):
Well, we start to look at the calendar and is
it going to be on this upcoming road trip we
will find out. Dodgers, meanwhile, have a ball game to
win and trying to stretch it out to two game
lead over the San Francisco Giants after their victory last night.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Dustin May gets the ball for the Dodgers. He's three
and four two and one in his career and five
appearances against the Giants. Kyle Harrison, the lefty, will go
for San Francisco. He's one and one in a four
to five six earned run average. A Father's Day special
here at Dodger Stadium on Sunday night, Baseball hits the
Dodgers and the Giants.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Coming up, tim All.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Right, thank you guys, as we tell you down to
first pitch. Dodger fans get that game day meal on
a Shakey's pizez and parlor. That'll love it. Enjoy it
here on Father's Day Shakey's He's a check it in
Mojo's order now at Shaky's dot Com. Coming up here
on Dodgers on Deck, you're gonna hear from the manager,
Dave Roberts. We will check in with David Vesey throughout
the show. We'll dive deeper into this pinching mancha. But
(09:13):
up next you're Tani you Rewind and a special guest
then lead you up to Dodgers and Giants Sunday Night
Baseball from Dodgers Stadium. Happy Father's Day. I'm Tim Katse's
World champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio.

your home for LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 2 (09:35):

mancha first bitch coming up at four ten.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
This is the Otani.
Speaker 7 (09:47):
Rewhy Here's a two to one swing in a drive
deep rightfield.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
This Paul is God a home run for shaw.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Hair Old Tony home run number twenty four for the
Big Show one nothing.
Speaker 9 (10:05):
Dodgers and evidently the answer with your thumbs up.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Oh Tani rips one tape to right fail.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Headed back to the wall.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It is gone.
Speaker 8 (10:15):
That's a home run for Altani, his second of the night.
Oh it's a big time show. Eight to nothing Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Home run number twenty five for show Hey Otani as
he hit an absolute frozen rope into the right center
failed blachers.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Show Hey Otani goes deep twice last night for the Dodgers,
number twenty four and twenty five on this season. Otani
now forty one run batted in on this season. He
was also on base twice last night via the walk,
two for three, two home runs and two walks. A
pretty good night for show, hey Otani, and an eleven
(10:57):
to five win over the San Francisco Giants. It is
Father's Day. Let's head back out to Dodger Stadium. We're
on David Batasay standing by with the special guests.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Well, Tam, it wouldn't be Father's Day at the ballpark
if we weren't joined by Michael Milkin, a man that
thirty years ago wanted to bring awareness to prostate cancer
and fathers everywhere. And here we are the Home Run
Challenge thirty years later, still doing a lot of great things.
And Michael, thanks a lot for the time and great
to have you back at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 10 (11:24):
Well, I'm the happiest guy to be here. I was
diagnosed thirty two years ago. They had given me twelve
to eighteen months to live, so I couldn't be happier.
And even more important, there are with new therapies that
have been funded by the Home Run Challenge, there are
three and a half million more men alive today enjoined
(11:46):
Father's Day with their family. That's going to mean a
lot to you, It means a lot to me, and
it means a lot to all those families.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Sure, Michael Milken, you've often emphasized the importance of early detection.
How was the home run challenge help educating? How has
it helped educate people out there for screenings and just
be aware to get checked.
Speaker 10 (12:06):
Well, there's many life threatening diseases, but very few that
have an early warning system. A simple blood test no
different than checking your cholesterol. And so our goal was
keep dad in the game, come out to the ballpark,
Remind your dad, grandfather, uncle, friend, brother, cousin, nextdoor, neighbor,
(12:28):
coworker to get that simple blood test. And the month
that most men get that simple blood test is the
month after Father's Day. So the Dodgers and Major League
Baseball have done a phenomenal job of getting the word out.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
How big has the partnership been with Major League Baseball
to get awareness out?
Speaker 10 (12:48):
Well, thirty radio stations, thirty television stations, and really it's
changed how men view this. We just had President Carter,
excuse me, President Biden diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. He
hadn't had a blood test since twenty twelve or fourteen,
(13:13):
so that was a big mistake, and so instead of
finding it early, it's a little more challenging. But with
the new therapies we have, we're expecting President and Biden
to have a good outcome. But it's a lot better
when you catch any life threatening disease early.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
That's beautiful. Michael Milken is our guest on Father's Day
at Dodgers Stadium. The home run Challenge going strong thirty
years later. And if you had to give one message
on this Father's Day, thirty years after you started the
home run challenge, what would it be?
Speaker 10 (13:47):
I'd go to PCF dot org Prostaycancerfoundation dot org.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
You can learn all.
Speaker 10 (13:53):
About the therapies, nutrition and reminding you to get that
simple blood test. For the African American man, you have
to have it by forty For others, no later than fifty.
I was diagnosed at forty six, So my own personal recommendations,
I start getting that blood test at forty. It's no
(14:15):
different than checking your cholesterol. Go Dodgers, keep Dad in
the game. PCF dot org.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
Love it, Love your father, encourage him to get checked
for prostate scanning and screening. Michael Milkin, thank you so
much for the time, and hopefully Otani helps the cause today.
Speaker 10 (14:33):
Well, he had a big night yesterday two home runs,
and I look forward to the game today. And we
have five of our grandchildren here at the game.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Love it, happy fathers. They enjoy the day at the ballpark.
Speaker 10 (14:45):
Wonderful to be with you again.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
There he is the man, Michael Milkin. We'll send it
back to you in the studio, tim.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
All right, thank you, Michael, Thank you. DV A great
time to go get tested, gentlemen. Dad's out there, grandfathers.
Perfect time to go out there and get tested and
be there for your family. All right. Dodgers Baseball is

minutes with Clayton Kershop. But up next we get you
an injury report now we'll hear from the manager Dave Roberts.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
It's the LA Dodger Injury Report.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Presented by UCLA Healthy Official medical partner of the Los
Angeles Dodgers. Rookie Sazaki. As you hear from Tim Nevert,
doesn't sound like he's going to return this season. That
is disappointing news. More on that coming up. Tony Gonsolin
on the iel with the right elbow sword is Tyler Glass,
now Blake Snell, Luis Garcia all in the I L
Blake trying to making progress returning from the sixty day
(16:23):
I L hopefully to help out this Dodgers bullpen. All right,
let's head back out to Dodger Stadium and here for
the Dodgers skipper.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Any questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave?
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Can you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts, what's the starting.
Speaker 10 (16:41):
A final spot for day.
Speaker 11 (16:42):
Step away his disparios to Bye, you know what he's
going to pitch on Monday, and just leaving it open
that if we decide to use an open or something
like that, just kind of seeing how we come out
of today, and it's really wide open for Tuesday and Wednesday.
(17:04):
Obviously we got Yamamoto go on Thursday, but this is
going to be kind of this is the last part
of the piece of getting past this stretch right here.
As far as on the pitching side, No, that should
be today or was it today? I think it's today.
(17:25):
I think it's the one that's bullpen today. Actually, yeah,
I think it's a very high likelihood he's going to
be activated this week. This week, we just don't know
if it's going to be, uh, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
May you talked about this stretch, win or lose today
you come out of here.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
That makes your first place.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Well, you guys have been able to navigate experience. How
satisfied or dissatisfied?
Speaker 11 (17:53):
Very satisfied. I think given all the circumstances, I think
that we've navi ge did it really well. I think
it was hopeful that the offense came to life last night.
I think that the bullpen, you know, all things considered,
we've reset guys. We're getting some guys back to health,
(18:17):
some of our starters, namely Snell and Glass. Now we're
on the mend. So that's exciting too to kind of
get through this kind of stretch that we're in. And
so we just we did it. We've done a good
job of staying the course. But we still you know,
we still got a chance to win a series today
and then we got a big series coming up this week.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
All right, there's the manager, Dave Roberts and that big
series coming up as four against the San Diego Padres.
Still to come here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll hear
from Clayton Kershaw coming up in about twenty minutes. But
up next we check in with David Madsday as we
lead jump to first pitch. Sunday Night Baseball, Dodgers and Giants.
I'm Tim Kasey's World champion Los Angeles Dodgers Padio Network.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
As we were saying, this.
Speaker 6 (19:02):
Is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on the official home
of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Dodgers and Giants, Sunday Night Baseball, Dustin May left hander
Kyle Harrison. We'll go for San Francisco. That is the
pitching matchup. First pitch coming up at four ten.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Joining Tim cats On Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
This is Dodger insider David Base.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
All right, DV, Happy Fathers Day to you show. Hey o'tani?
Is he gonna pitch again this week? Where are we at?
It feels like he's kind of ramping it up here quickly.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:39):
Well, ESPN is reporting that there is a growing sense
around the Dodgers that Otani is going to pitch this week.
That would be a great departure from what Dave Roberts
has maintained the last few weeks that o'tanni would not
pitch until after the All Star breaks. So that kind
(19:59):
of tell me that Otani wants to pitch and sees
the Dodgers need some help in that rotation. So I
would say, with him not throwing to hitters on Monday
or Tuesday and instead throwing a bullpen session, that is
a real possibility that Otani could pitch by the end
(20:19):
of this homestand in a game. And look, he's gonna
pitch once a week. He's not pitching every five days.
He's pitching once a week. So I would say, you know,
the way this is trending, maybe the last game against
the Padres, maybe Saturday against the Nationals is a real possibility.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Now, wow, that is a far cry from what we
have been here and in speculating maybe post All Star break,
that's a quick ramp up here. In mid June, Davis
Driven by Ford, Twitter, million Drivers. You've done more than
help make Ford America's best selling auto brand this June
by a Ford helped celebrate importance additional donations to the causes.
That's Ford building together. Ford mortarcon pretty from America for America.
(21:02):
Another arm that could be helping out this team. David
is Emma Shean.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Dave Roberts actually conceded that he would be pitching in
the Padres series. Emmett was at Dodgers Stadium yesterday here's
what he told me about the long road back from
Tommy John surgery to be able to be in this
position after three rehab starts.
Speaker 12 (21:23):
Things been great. Feeling really good, feeling you know, back
to normal pretty much, which is nice. Got three starts
in so far, so feeling really good.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
Do you feel like next week you could be starting
in a game here in.
Speaker 12 (21:35):
La Yeah, I think it's a possibility, definitely. I'm not sure,
you know what the plan is always I never know,
but yeah, hopefully.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
The word on the streets already is that you're making
a start. Shean, Why don't you just let us know?
Speaker 9 (21:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (21:48):
I can't. I don't know if I can do that.
I don't make the decisions around here. But no, it's
hopefully soon enough. I'm feeling really good.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
So has this gone as smooth as you thought it
would or how would you describe just this whole process?
Speaker 12 (22:01):
Yeah, honestly, like very smooth. You know, I had the
best care I can possibly get here in Arizona two
and I mean a couple of times, definitely. You have
little flare ups here and there throughout the whole rehab process.
It's gonna happen to everyone, but overall really smooth.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
Any new tricks.
Speaker 12 (22:17):
Oh maybe I can't tell him to you though.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
Yeah, thanks, I'm glad you're healthy.
Speaker 12 (22:22):
Thanks appreciated.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
Wow, im it? She is so skeptical to tell me anything, Tim,
But that's a young pitcher that certainly doesn't want to
speak out of turn. Yeah, well, we know not a veteran.
He's not gonna just tell me, Hey, it's Tuesday or Wednesday,
and he's not gonna tell me, hey, maybe I picked
up a new pitch. But we'll we'll see what he's
got for us. But the one thing I could tell you,
(22:45):
Emmitt Shean physically is bigger and stronger than the last
time he pitched in a Major League game.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Cannot wait to see him back out there. On him mount,
A guy who is not afraid to speak. Clayton Kershaw
coming up in fifteen minutes with DV. Thank you, David.

Dodgers and Giants, Dustin May and Kyle Harrison. The pitching
matchup you're gonna hear from Clayton Kershaw coming up in
less than ten minutes. First bitch coming up before.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
Ten and now joined by David Basseying. Here's La Dodgers
broadcaster and World Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Happy Father's Day, Rick, Hope you are enjoying your day
and you mean a lot to all of us, even
those that are not your kids.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (25:32):
Well, sometimes we have to remind you that you're not
a kid. And Happy Father's Day all the dads out there.
I think it's special to come to the ballpark too,
a lot of memories for those that have grown up
with their dads or even their moms, are just a family.
This is kind of a respite. I keep saying this,
when you come to the ballpark, you check reality at
(25:52):
the gate. Unfortunately they hand it back to us when
we're ready to leave the stadium. But when you come
out here is and all your aches and pains and
worries kind of juster. And unless you're a hitter. Last
night trying to figure out Clayton Kershaw, and then is
it my goodness, that was really close to vintage Kershaw.
Seven inning, just eighty one pitches, five strike, ass walked,
(26:14):
only one little weird that the one walk was on
the very first bat of they faced, and yet he
had to count no bulls and two strikes, winds up
walking him one out later, ground bowl double play first
and he was over. And then Kershaw just took charge.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Rick, You've seen so many great pitchers over your baseball life.
I mean, what he did last night, that's not something
just an ordinary guy could do with what he has.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
No he's been working to try and get to kerkr ball.
He's been working again to try and get the slider
back to what we have seen before. He also mixed
in a splitter or two, and then one kind of
a mix up pitch. Ye that registered, well, what about
fifty nine miles an hour or something like that an accident.
Then then he went in after the half ending on
(27:00):
the way to the dugout went until the umpire said, oops,
that was a little mechanical disruption, if you will, of
the delivery.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Do you have appreciation for a guy like that that
already has accomplished so much.
Speaker 9 (27:11):
Here's one of the reasons. Not just because what he
did last night, which I thought was terrific, Well we
saw today he was out here too, working, and I
mean working by stretching where the trainer who was right
there on the field. This isn't even count what he
did inside on the field stretching and then running and
getting ready. And the day before he pitched. We saw
(27:33):
this again in San Diego. He took the mound. It
was a San Diego somewhere else took the mound Saint
Louis and Saint Louis with no one else in the
in the bullpen, and would just kind of acclimating himself
sixty feet six inches away from a plate. There was
no one else in the bullpen, and yet he was
there with a loan, with his thoughts that's got a report,
(27:55):
and thinking himself mechanically through his delivery. And we kind
of laughed and in Saint Louis because even though no
one else was in the bullpen except him, this was
about two and a half three hours prior to the
start of the game. When he came sent he was
still signaling to the invisible catcher. Hey, it's going to
be a slider. Hey, it's going to be a kurbul.
(28:16):
He was totally focused in. There could have been a
thousand people around him and he was not aware of it.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Rick, you've talked about paying attention. Do you believe other
guys on the team are paying attention to what his
work ethic is all about.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
They're not.
Speaker 9 (28:30):
They're missing a really a good opportunity. I think you
always do that. Sometimes we have different paths to have
the osmosis to absorb that knowledge and to see what
he's done something special, a few things special. You assume
the ability is there? What about the intangibles? And if
(28:52):
I'm a young pitcher, I want to see. Are the
intangibles different from what I perceive and what I do
and what he does? Can it work for me? And
I would want to talk to him all the time.
You see the young pitchers that I think are going
to succeed. Those are the ones when you look in
the dugout during a game of games that Kershaw is
not pitching, that are picking his brain. What do you
(29:14):
see in that hitter? What did you see in that pitch?
What are you working on? What light you throw? In
this situation? Always trying to find out what happens. It's
not just hey, look, hey, look the store down the
streets running a sale. You gotta go in there.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
No, they're talking baseball.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Makes sense? Rick, happy Father's Day?
Speaker 4 (29:30):
And me?
Speaker 5 (29:31):
Also, they fixed my tie again tomorrow.
Speaker 9 (29:33):
No, you're a quick learner, only to do it once.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
All right, we'll send it back here in the studio.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Tim, All right, thanks a lot, DV, thanks a lot more.
That is the Dodgers game plan. Dodger fans, you need
a game plan too about starting your future to California
community college, financial aids available to help you out, tuition books,
sometimes even the rank if you need it. It's time
to make that next big step. Summer classes going on.
You got the fall semester right around the corner. Classes
(29:58):
can fill it quickly. So enrolled today and I can
go to college dot com. Still to come. Here on
Dodgers on Deck, we'll get you a preview of this
bitching matchup. Rink will be back with Tim Neverett. They're
gonna get you the keys to the game. But up
next we go high and tight for the future Hall
of Famer. He wears number twenty two and he's twelve
strikeouts away from three thousand in his career. Clayton Kershaw.
(30:20):
Hear from him next. I'm Tim Kase's world champion Los
Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
As we were saying yes, is Marongo Casino. Dodgers on
Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
It's from a Dodger player. It's an engagement of endearment.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
This is high and tight.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
Happy Father's Day. Tell all the dad's out there, and
I could have found a better dad to talk to
today on this special day for the dads out there. Yeah,
he threw seven scoreless innings yesterday, but he's dad to
his four kids and one more on the way. That's
our very own Clayton Kershaw, Happy Father's Day, Clayton, you too, Dave.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
Hey, today was a great father's Day because you were
on the beach and you did the gender review. Because
Ellen's pregnant with another baby.
Speaker 13 (31:34):
Yes, she's doing December, and we found out today that
we're having another girl.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
So Bookend Girls is pretty awesome.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
Girl.
Speaker 13 (31:42):
Three boys and then another girl. So my daughter was
super excited and the boys aren't gonna know what to
do with her. But it's a great father's day, great
start to the day.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
What is Father's Day to you now compared to maybe
your first one?
Speaker 4 (31:57):
That's a good question.
Speaker 13 (31:58):
I mean, I think, well, it's special because the kids
make it special, you know, I think that's what's cool.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
They really enjoy.
Speaker 13 (32:06):
You know, they like to make cards, they like to
draw stuff, they like to they like to go pick out,
you know, random funny stuff that they think that I'll like.
So I just seeing it through their eyes, are getting
to like celebrate. They do a great job of, you know,
making me feel special, which is really cool. And you know,
I don't think you really understand that until you see
(32:28):
it through your kid's eyes. So that's that's pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Who has more of your personality out of the four
so far?
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Oh man?
Speaker 13 (32:35):
You know, I think Charlie is like a mini me,
my oldest, my eight year old. I think he uh,
he's he looks probably the most like me, and then
he's got the same like personality traits. I think he
drives my wife crazy sometimes with how much he like
he wants to be on time. He's so like, oh man,
it's good until like you can't drive and you got
(32:56):
to wait on your mom to drive you. That's how
I was, and that's he's in that too.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Clayton Kershaw is our guest on Father's Day. Okay, seven
scoreless innings, but you wake up today you have a
great family moment with Ellen and finding out you're having
another baby.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Girl.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
Do the kids even care what dad did yesterday?
Speaker 4 (33:15):
You know, they got to.
Speaker 13 (33:16):
So my my daughter got home from camp yesterday, Ellen
went and picked her up. She was at overnight camp,
so she came straight here to the game, and so
they got to watch Ill' and let him stay up
for the whole game. And I uh to be I
don't know if they care or not, but Charlie, Charlie
likes to dissect the whole game and he's a big
baseball fan now, so it's it's awesome. And yeah, you know,
(33:40):
I don't think they cared this morning, but last night
they seemed like they cared, so that was cool.
Speaker 5 (33:44):
Do you think Dad surpassed Aaron Judge and Charlie's rankings?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
That's a good question. Yeah, he wears ninety nine.
Speaker 13 (33:51):
I thought it was I thought it was for hyunjin Ryu,
but uh, turns out it's for Aaron Judge. But you know,
that's a I'll let him do that one. I think
Aaron Judge is a great role model, so I'll take
that one for sure.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Everybody keeps asking me, why do you keep doing this?
Why do you keep pitching? Is family? A big reason
why you keep going to have your kids, have Charlie
see you? Is how much of the equation is family?
Speaker 13 (34:13):
Yeah, I mean I think it starts with Ellen. You know,
I think she really enjoys I think she really enjoys
me doing what I am good at. And so I
think that that means a lot to me that she doesn't.
You know, she's not the wife that's like all right,
I'm done traveling, let's go, let's go home, let's do
all that. Like she she's on board for anything. And
you know, traveling around the country with four kids isn't
(34:34):
easy obviously, but she does it all summer with all
of them, and she like embraces it and the kids
seem to love it too. So that's been awesome that
to have that support. And then I think for me personally,
it's just just as simple as I wanted to. You know,
I don't really have another answer. I just like didn't
feel felt like I wanted to keep going, And I
(34:57):
think I think that's as good enough as the answer
as I can have.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
We always hear the athletes talk about enjoying the journey
or enjoying the process today, day one of the five
day routine. How much do you relish this just as
much as going out and competing every fifth day?
Speaker 13 (35:13):
Ah, I mean it's hard, it's it's harder to wake
up and things like that. But there's nothing better as
a as a starter than the day after when you
get to just basking it and especially when you pitch good.
It's the worst part when you pitch bad, but the
best part when you pitch good. So the day after
it start is an awesome feeling, for sure.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
Do you feel like you're sending a message to everybody
on your team? You know, Hey, I may not feel
my best and maybe a little harder to get this
routine going again, but you've got to find a way.
Speaker 13 (35:45):
I don't know, I don't know what type of message
I'm sending, other than you know, when it's your turn
to pitch, go pitch, and thankful to have that opportunity
right now.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
And you know, we're in a hard stretch.
Speaker 13 (35:55):
We're playing a lot of good teams, playing a lot
of like above five hundred ball clubs, and doesn't get
easier with the padres coming in for four after this
one today. So and you know, obviously we've got some
guys hurting things like that. So guys are stepping up,
guys are making you know, their starts count, and obviously
we're just gonna have to keep grinding through it. But
it seems like we've got some guys on the mind,
which is good. And you know, Benny c coming into
(36:18):
the starting rotation. He's fun to watch. He's got a
lot of good stuff and good mindset. And you know
a lot of young guys. Jack Tryer has been awesome.
Our bullpen, you know, is stepping up, throwing a lot
of innings. Obviously, so all those guys, everybody's kind of
stepping up. D May taking the ball every fifth day,
all these things. So it's a it's definitely collective effort.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Right now, all right, before I let you go.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
Father's Day. I feel like the only really reward we
get other than having our kids every day is the
meal that they may let us pick out. Does the
family allow you to pick out dinner tonight? Or did
they allow you to pick out breakfast?
Speaker 12 (36:52):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (36:52):
If you if it's Father's Day, if it's really Father's
Day for Clayton Krusha, what do you want?
Speaker 13 (36:58):
Oh man, that's a great question. I mean, I think honestly,
you know, the pizza is pretty tough to be.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
You know, I could hammer out. I could hammer out
of pizza at any seconds.
Speaker 13 (37:08):
So you know, the steak is great, and I you know,
I love steak or burgers or all that. But at
the end of the day, a nice pie sounds pretty goody.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
Thanks a lot for the time, and happy Father's Day. Obviously,
we see how much work you put in on the field,
but getting to see you with your kids is really special.
And you're a better dad than you are a pitcher,
which is hard to imagine, but it's true.
Speaker 9 (37:33):
All right.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
I appreciate that, man. Thank you. Leave it right there.
Happy Father's Day, guys.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
There he goes Clayton Kershaw, and he'll receive a Father's
Day gift to Javier's Fine Mexican Food with a new
location in downtown. We'll send it back to you in
the studio, Tim.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
All right, thanks a lot of DV. Happy Father's Day
to Clayton Kershaw. Congratulations to him and his wife and
a new addition to the family, their fifth child, a
baby girl, expected in December. They had the gender revealed
this morning on the each here in Southern California. Very
cool moment for them. Congratulations to Clayton and his family.
And he said it he wants pizza. How about some

Heres enter by your Southern California Toyota dealers. Work hard

see your Toyota dealer today. They make it easy. Harrison
on the mound for the Giants, twenty three year old
left tender, second round pick a Dallas l High School
and conquered back in twenty twenty. Primarily a fastball, a
slurf is what he's going to throw. He started the
(39:10):
season in Triple A, making his fifth start, ninth appearance
last time out, five innings, three runs, four hits, six
strikeouts in a no decision against the Rockies. He's zho
to one with a three p fifty two ERA and
ten strikeouts with a one seventy three opposing batting average
and three career starts against the Dodgers, so they have
seen him before. Freddie Freeman, by the way, oh for
(39:30):
seven against Kyle Harrison in his career. Dustin May on
the mound for the Dodgers. Somebody order a code red
because he's going for the blue. The twenty seven year
old right hitter making his thirteenth start this season last
time out, five innings, six runs, six hits, one strikeout,
four walks in a no decision against the Padres. Facing
the Giants for the sixth time in his career, two
and one with the one to sixty two e Ray,
(39:51):
Dustin May, Kyle Harrison, Dodgers Giants, Sunday Night Baseball. We're
fifteen minutes away for first pitch. Keys to the game.
Our next, I'm Tim Kase's World champion Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.
Speaker 6 (40:03):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead up to first
pitch Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants on Sunday Night Baseball.
But just gave me the pitching matchup literally two minutes ago.
Dustin May on the mound for the Dodgers going up
against Kyle Harrison, the left hander. In the last ninety seconds,
the San Francisco Giants have announced that Sean Jelly, the
(40:35):
six foot eleven right hander former second round pick out
of Kentucky in twenty eighteen, will now be the starting
pitcher for the Giants and what becomes now a bullpen game.
Why have the Dodgers and Giants had this change while
the Dodgers is flip flopp Taskar Hernandez and Freddie Freeman
in this starting lineup. That's what the Dodgers change has been,
(40:56):
but why Kyle Harrison has been scratched from this San
Francisco Giants lineup. Well. Reports from baseball insiders, including now
Bob Nightingale from USA Today that the Boston Red Sox
have traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants and
a multiplayer trade that includes what was supposed to be
(41:20):
Kyle Harrison the starter in this game. Now we're getting
more details as they come in here before first pitch,
but Kyle Harrison will not be the starting pitcher for
the San Francisco Giants. In fact, he was being warmed
up in the bullpen by catcher Logan Porter. Kyle Harrison
stopped warming up just minutes ago. Has been informed that
something is happening. He'll be traded, and it looks like
(41:43):
this is the trade. Rafael Devers a trade, a blockbuster
trade between the Red Sox and the Giants, Jordan Hicks,
Kyle Harrison and more for Raffael Devers, Giants, Red Sox.
So we got a new starting pitcher wild minutes before
first pitch. Been a long time, says we've seen something
like this happen. With the trade happening while the starting
(42:05):
pitcher is actually warming enough. Well, it's happened just now
at a Dodgers stadium when the boys in Blue play
at home. Make sure your home is always protected with CalFire.
