Speaker 1 (01:44):
At the Galpin Motors Broadcast booth.
Speaker 7 (01:46):
Well, the Dodgers went into the All Star break on
a winning note, taking two at three in San Francisco
on Sunday. It took extra innings, but it was worth
the wait. Yoshinobu Yamamoto got the start the All Star
was fanatic, one of his best outings of the year
seven shutout innings. He scatters his three hits while striking
out seven along the way. Yamamoto was really good. He
(02:09):
had his fastball work in his cutter, and he had
a lot of bite him that split finger. The Dodgers offense, meanwhile,
needed a spinner around the line up to get after
Robbie Ray, another All Star. Finally, in the fourth show,
Hey O'tani drew a lead off walk, then Mookie Betts
reached base on a walk.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Two batters later, Freddie Freeman.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Robbie Ray ready to throw. Here's the pitch, and Freddy
pangs at to right field. That's gonna go to the
corner around third, is Otani. He will score Bets is
gonna get held at third? And in the second with
a run scoring double is Freddy Freeman and the Dodgers
strike first this afternoon.
Speaker 7 (02:47):
It is won nothing RBI double for Freddy. Dodgers up
one to nothing. In the fifth, the Dodgers added to
that lead Miguel Rojas a solo home run to left.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
He muscled up his.
Speaker 7 (02:58):
Fifth home runner this season in the last twelve games.
As the Dodgers had a two nine in lead, Yoshinovo
Yamamoto went the seven shutout innings, he turned it over
to the Dodgers bullpen for the final six outs of
the game. Alex Vesia did his part in the eighth,
he struck out the side. The ninth belonged to Tanner Scott,
who got into trouble. Luis Monto's a two run home
(03:19):
run in the bottom of the ninth that tied the
game at two. Poor Yamamoto was in line for the win,
but gets a no decision. The game would go to
extra innings. In the tenth, James Outman, with a great
running catching center field, kept the game tied at two.
Then in the top of the eleventh, Dodgers with some
two out magic thanks to Freddie Freeman.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
Right side of the infield deep o'tany can get a
huge lead out and off of second base one to
oh pitch to Freddy. He swings that he hits a
fly ball shadow into center fan It's gonna drop here comes.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Out in a round third he will score. The Dodgers
take out three to two lead and.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
The Otani goes first to third on the play and
the Dodgers score to take the lead again.
Speaker 7 (04:10):
Two out RBI single for Freddie Freeman that's the top
tier play of the game, brought to by Arco quality,
top tier gas for less.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Dodgers a three to two.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
Lead, and they weren't done to Oscar Hernandez an infield
single score show Hey, Dodgers up Ford to two, and
then Andy pot has an RBI single down the right
field line, the third run of the inning. The Dodgers
go on and beat the San Francisco Giants five to two.
Benkssparius gets to win. Dodgers take two or three in
San Francisco. Before the All Star Break. They're fifty eight
(04:37):
and thirty nine on the season, first place atop the
NL West. They start the second half of the season
to night against the Milwaukee Brewers, the start of a
three game series here at Dodgers Stadium. Tyler Glass now
on the mound, first pitch at seven to ten, and
with more we head over to Steven Nelson and David Vase.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Guys, thank you, Tim.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I have been informed just now, in fact, by our
dear friend and analyst David Veasse, that I'm the only
person in the world that calls you TC. I mean,
there's just I'm an initials guy. Now I think about it.
Speaker 9 (05:08):
You are DTC, I call you Nelly instead of Jelly.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
That's a good point.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Or Ellie Elly's on the field today.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Or sn Yeah, maybe I got to clean that up.
I think the break hopefully did some cleaning up for
the Dodgers. I think it came in a great time, well,
in a number of senses, right, because you covered this
team for a long time. Now, this was a really
long first half. I mean ninety seven games before the
All Star break, and they were really limping to it.
(05:38):
And thankfully they ended on a high note, taking the
series from the Giants. But there are several Dodgers that
really needed a breather.
Speaker 9 (05:44):
Yeah, and in particular Mookie Betts. He was our pregame guest.
You heard from Mookie and he went back to Nashville
and just said he needed a reset. And I asked
him whether or not he picked up a bat or
just completely reset, and he said, n I had to
pick up a I was working every day, even though
I was catching up with friends and family. So me personally, Steven,
(06:05):
I feel like Mookie Betts was the guy that needed
it the most to just reset, because it felt like
he was playing from behind the entire first half with
the sickness that made him lose you know, close to
twenty pounds. So hopefully things are reset for Mookie, because
hard to believe he gets so down on himself, but
he does.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
You know, one of the best players ever, not just
right now or of this generation, one of the best
players ever, and he forgets it too often. He's obviously
having a career worst year offensively, and that's to say
nothing of his you know, strong defense at short.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
But yeah, he's not alone.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Freddie Freeman, Tasker, Hernandez, Tommy Edmond, a bunch of guys
hopefully come out of the All Star break feeling refreshed.
It's good to see Max Munsey out on the field
doing work. And Dave Roberts indicated before the game that
he is a head of schedule. Knock on wood, that
is the case. He is the current Dodger third baseman
and he has been a terrific Dodger his entire career,
(06:59):
and tonight I want to get into celebrating a guy
that you just talked to on Dodger Talk, and I
think you accurately described him as the best third basement
this franchise has ever seen. That's a Penguin Ron say.
Speaker 9 (07:10):
Yeah, it's going to be a great ceremony. I mean,
this is something really great that Dodgers have created because
they have such a high standard. To retire a player's number,
you have to be in the Hall of Fame. Only
Jing Gilliam and Fernando Valenzuela the two players that are
not in the Hall of Fame that have their number retired.
But you know, you think back to what Ronsey meant
to this franchise. I mean, those Dodgers meant everything to
(07:32):
this city. And he's one of those guys that, you know,
six time All Star. He could have had more All Stars,
he could have had more Gold Gloves. But there's a
guy by the name of Michael Schmidt, Yeah, playing for
the Phillies that you know kind of held him back.
And Ron say, definitely, the Penguin meant a lot to
this franchise.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
The latest legend of Dodger Baseball in trying tonight, as
the Dodgers kickoff a three game series with the red
hot Milwaukee Brewers, who won seven in a row. So
Tim not TC, Tim, I'm gonna hand it back to you,
and then when we chat with TV a little bit later,
we'll dive into some keys.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
No, Nellie, you can call me Nelly, all right, that's okay.
Speaker 7 (08:10):
Don't listen to David Veassi. All right, we cut you
down to first pitch. Dodger fans, get your game. Dave
meal On at Shaky Spizza Parlor. What are your Shaky's pizzaid,
chicken and mojos right now at Shaky's dot Com?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
All right?
Speaker 7 (08:21):
Coming up here on Moronco Casino Dodgers on Deck, Well,
you're here from the manager, Dave Roberts. We will check
in with Jeff Levery, voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, get
his thoughts on this series and these two teams in
the final half of the season. We'll also hear from
Mookie Betts. Coming up, we'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup.
But up next to your o Tani rewind and we'll
visit with Kirisen Watson live on the field here at
(08:41):
Dodgers Stadium on this Friday night. As we lead you
up to first bitch, Dodgers and the Brewers.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
I'm Tim kase Is, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.
Speaker 8 (08:55):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers on your over La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
It's the Dodgers and the Brewers post All Star break.
Tyler Glass now on the mount. First bitch coming up
at seven ten.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
This is the Otani rewise.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
Here's a one two pitch. This one is pumped to
right field. That's the pace het Otani's got himself a
single second time he's been on base.
Speaker 7 (09:22):
Today show, Hey, Otani goes one for three. He walked twice,
scored twice. Finished the first half of the season batting
two seventy six, thirty two home runs and sixty rbi.
Speaker 8 (09:35):
This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson here.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Soon now joins us from the field here at Dodgers
STANDI and before the Dodgers and Brewers on this Friday night,
brought to my Cars for kids. Ready to donate your
old car called eight seven to seven Cars for kids
right now, friendly agents, Dandy Biden, take your donation. That's
cars with the K to donate your car today. Second
half of the season underway tonight, Kirston, the Dodgers were
ready to go.
Speaker 10 (10:00):
Yeah exactly, look and they ended the first half on
a high note. We know about the seven game losing
streak that definitely was not the high note, but how
they were able to finish things in San Francisco before
the break and then of course setting me all stars
off to Atlanta, that is where they want to beat.
We thought the quality pitching while the offense get going.
So now it's just about carrying that over, hopefully a
little bit of redemption going up against the team and
(10:22):
the Brewers, who they did just face of Milwaukee and
they happened to get slipped there, so hopefully going into
this one and kind of write some of those wrongs,
get back on track. And it starts to with Tyler Glasstole,
who's going to be having his first start back at
Dodger Stadium's coming off the IL, so as much as
it's against the same team, he has the familiarity and
hopefully continue just the really strong starts that he had
(10:45):
back in Milwaukee when he first him off the IL.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Yeah, and that was something. On that last road trip.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
The Dodgers saw a really good pitching and they also
had really good pitching. Y'a I'm a moto on Sunday,
seven shutout innings. Just the offense and the bullpend couldn't
keep it going.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Until the final. Did an extra innings tonight.
Speaker 7 (11:01):
This offense, I'd love to see them get out to
an early start, put some runs on.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
The board exactly.
Speaker 10 (11:07):
And look, we've seen how just when you look at
the stats when it comes to come back with the
team is the best in the league. And that's a
huge quality that they have. But right now it's about
just starting early. Is that's the clean inning of work
from the picture. So that's Tyler tonight and then hopefully
for whether it's guys like show, hey, it's Fannie. We
did see a court some of the power in San
Francisco in which he hit it into the coming cove.
(11:28):
We saw that, we saw some of the extra base
hits that Freddy k Freeman was getting. So we're starting
to see guys kind of getting back going even with
you bet he's someone who you guys talked to him
today just briefly and he was just saying, like how
the big just this break was for him. He was
up part of the All Star Game and so he
had four days off just to reset and he was
(11:49):
family and kind of relaxed and course do some work
in the cage and things like that. So for him
it's just a matter of, you know, wanting to get
going and having that consistency that's kind of been what's
been missing Crimp in offensively. We haven't the next from
him this year, so he's hoping to get.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
Back to that.
Speaker 10 (12:06):
It looks now it's the time. It's the second half
and the first time to get going. As I started
to gear up for the postseason, Herison.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
Looking forward to tonight. It's Ron say Bobblehead night. As
he goes in to the legends of Dodgers baseball. We
appreciate it. We'll check in with you after the game.
Still to come. Here on Dodgers on Deck, David Vasse
goes one on one with the points of the Brewers.
Jeff Leving will get you an injury report, and we'll
here from the manager himself, Dave Roberts.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
It's the Dodgers and Brewers. First pitch at seven ten.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
I'm Tim kass Is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio.
Speaker 8 (12:34):
No, this is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
On your home for the blue all season loss law.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead jump
to first pitch from Dodger Stadium, Dodgers and the Brewers,
Marongo Casino Resort and Spa, A Grand slam for a
good times. Tyler Glass now on the mountain. This series opener,
first pitch at seventen.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
This it's the LA Dodgers Injury.
Speaker 7 (13:05):
Report, presented by UCLA Healthy, Official medical partner of the
Los Angeles Dodgers. Key k Hernandez on the I L
with the bad left elbow, Max Munty on the IL
with the left knee bone bruise. More on that with
David Vasse coming up. Michael Kopek on the IL, Tony
Gonsolan on the I L. Blake Snell more on Snell's
Zilla coming up with DV an update on the Dodger
(13:26):
left hander. As the Dodgers are slowly Bud Sureley getting
healthy in their pitching staff. All right, let's head back
downstairs and check out the Dodger skipper.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Anything else with Dave?
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Do you think the questions for Dave?
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Dave?
Speaker 5 (13:38):
Can you just describe Dave?
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Can you talk about the pressure in.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
The dugouts with Dave Roberts, Dave?
Speaker 10 (13:45):
How is the all Star name?
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Fantastic?
Speaker 11 (13:48):
Thanks for asking, hearing your experience there, of course being
around on the home run battle.
Speaker 12 (13:55):
At the end, things like that.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
It was great.
Speaker 11 (13:58):
It was just great seeing our all stars there with
their families and enjoying the festivities. Obviously it was a
fun game to be a part of. And then kind
of the first time you know that home run derby
swing off situation. I thought it showed well and was
(14:19):
exciting for everyone, and it was good. I think we
we we did a lot of checked a lot of box.
I thought the the camera in game, I heard some
stuff from Clayton and the kind of the banter with
other guys, and so it was really good. Good to
get back. I think our guys are recharged, and how
parting was.
Speaker 10 (14:38):
To end the first half on a high note, But
how part is it to now.
Speaker 11 (14:41):
Start for the second half on it's It's it's important.
I think that getting the break, getting recharged, certainly playing
a team that had their way with us in Milwaukee
and getting another crack at these guys, I think is
a good thing for us. And you know, just want
to go out and come out and play good baseball out.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Of the gates.
Speaker 7 (15:03):
All right, there's the manager, Dave Roberts. This is the
pregame thoughts about this Dodger team now post All Star
Break as they start this series at a home against
the Milwaukee Brewers. Coming up here on Morongo Casino Dodgers
on Deck, we will dive deeper into this pitching matchup.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
We'll hear from Jeff Levering, the voice of the Brewers.
Speaker 7 (15:19):
We'll hear from Mookie Betts of Next Oh Your Dodgers
magical moment.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
It's the Dodgers and Brewers.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
Ron Say Bobblehead Night as he is inducted into the
Legends of Baseball for the Dodgers. Coming up in a
ceremony in just a few minutes.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
First bitch coming up at seven to ten.
Speaker 7 (15:34):
I'm Tim Katz's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
As we were saying yes, is Marongo Casino Dodgers on
deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
It's the Dodgers and the Brewers on this Friday night.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Ron Say Bobblehead Night.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
As he is being inducted into the Legends of Dodgers Baseball,
the ninth member to be inducted into that group.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
First pitch coming up at seven.
Speaker 8 (16:05):
Ten, Joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
This is Dodger insider David Base.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
And David now joins is here at Dodgers Stadium. David's
gonna be on the call for all nine innings with
Steven Nelson looking forward to that first pitch coming up
at seven ten. All right, DV Here we are post
All Star break, the Dodgers well represented in Atlanta, but
also a chance for some of the guys who are
banged up to get healthy into mentally gearbady for the
stretch run.
Speaker 9 (16:34):
Right, Hey, it must be a big game because not
only the Dodgers owner, but new Lakers owner Mark Walter
was on the field before the game today. Always great
to see Mark out here at Dodgers Stadium. But look,
the Dodgers are happy to be back in action. The
All Stars that I spoke to, in particular Will Smith
and Freddie Freeman, they had a great time in Atlanta,
(16:56):
but it feels like they're really happy to be back
here at Dodger Stadium and back into their normal routine.
Freddy said he was on his way back to LA
when the swing off was taking place in Atlanta. He
wasn't going to be part of it. But still, you know,
obviously he was intrigued by it. He said he really
appreciated that Atlanta welcomed him home, but he said they
(17:21):
both have moved on. The Braves have moved on, the
fans in Atlanta have moved on. He's moved on. But
he gave them everything he could for twelve years. So
good feelings for Freddie Freeman coming back to Atlanta and
getting ready to start the first half the way he
started the season.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
David had brought you by the twenty twenty five Ford
f one fifty from California's best selling truck brand. It's
time to see Ford in a new light forward for
America from America, all right, David, A chance for Max
Munsey to get an extra week off here, even though
he's on the injury list, to get that knee right.
Speaker 9 (17:52):
Yeah, Max Munsey still has a sleeve on his left leg,
a compression sleeve on his left leg dealing with that
left knee bone Brews. But he was taking he was
playing catch earlier today. He told me that he took
swings during the All Star break and he was moving
around pretty well, no noticeable limp when he was on
the field earlier today. And that just goes back to
(18:15):
this being a pain tolerance issue for Max Munsey at
this point, and you just hope that he can find
a way to be as good of a hitter as
he was, but also play defense as adequately as he
was as well.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Tomorrow is Saturday.
Speaker 7 (18:30):
I don't know if we've got Snell Zella Saturday tomorrow, David,
But what is the latest on Blake Snell?
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Yeah, I haven't seen Blake.
Speaker 9 (18:37):
He better deliver, but he's going to be in Oklahoma
City on Sunday, so it might be a travel day,
okay for snell Zilla Tomorrow. He's going to pitch in
Oklahoma City tomorrow, probably maybe one more after that, but
there's a very good chance you could see Blake Snell
pitching a game for the Dodgers by the end of
this month. I would not rule that out of the
(18:58):
question at this point time.
Speaker 7 (19:00):
Tonight, the ninth member of the Legends of Dodger Baseball
being honored the Penguin Ron say.
Speaker 9 (19:06):
Yeah, it's great to have Ron say back. He was
on Dodger Talk last night. The reality is, Tim, there's
been guys like Justin Turner, Max Munsey, even Adrian Beltray
for the beginning of his career. But the longevity, the numbers,
the defense, the winning Ronsey hands down is the greatest
third basement in Dodger history, and he deserves to be
(19:29):
part of this legends of Dodger baseball. And certainly he
was part of great teams and he was as fierce
as they come.
Speaker 7 (19:37):
Dam I look around baseball today and I saw at
least two openers going in games post All Star Break
to start, in essence, the second half of the season.
The Dodgers, they don't need an opener. They got Tyler
Glass now, who should be fresh and ready to go tonight.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (19:51):
I mean, it's weird how he got his season started
again and then the All Star Break happened. And I
think it's telling that the Dodgers wanted to get yamamotos
an extra rest because he's not pitching in these first
three games. And we'll get into it with Steven Nelson
in the Keys to the Game later, but glassnew really
handled this Brewers lineup before the break in Milwaukee. The
(20:14):
Dodgers just need to get the offense going because they
were limping into the All Star break, and I feel
like everybody needed it all.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Right, Davie appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
We'll check back in with you in just a little bit.
Dave was gonna go one on one with Jeff Levering,
voice of the Milwaukee Brewers. We'll have deeper to this
pitching matchup. But up next, your Dodgers Magical Moment. As
we lead you up to first pitch on this Friday night,
the post All Star break run begins. Dodgers Brewers first
pitch at seven ten. I'm Tim kats is the world
champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunting Game.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
On your home for La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
It's the Dodgers and the Brewers on this Friday night.
So as they get ready for the iron say sarahmony
inducting him into the legends of Dodgers Baseball. Former Dodger
greats on hand to welcome him, and Tyler Glass now
will be on the mountain.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
First pitch coming up at seven ten.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
An a hot dog who wants a hot dog.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
It's time for the Hawfy Magical Moment.
Speaker 8 (21:18):
It's Magical presented by Hawfey Hot Dogs.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
Oh you go back to July fifth, twenty twenty four.
Just last year, Dodgers at home against these Milwaukee Brewers,
Will Smith had himself a day going deep, not once,
not twice, but three times.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
Will Smith two home runs tonight, two for two of
the walk five four Dodgers trailer. Will swings Pitzel drive
down the left field.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Line and it's done.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
It's gone.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
Three home run night for Will Smith, and he ties
the game. Where there's a Will, there's a ways, and
Will is finding his way.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Hold five to five. Oh my goodness, what a night
for Will Smith.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
Three home runs for Will Smith last July against these Brewers.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Is the Dodgers won it eight to five?
Speaker 7 (22:18):
This Hofy magical moment brought to by Hoppy hot Dogs,
Hopey Soak, How's local treasure for nearly one hundred years,
Hoffy hot Dogs, local and so great. Won't we continue
here on Dodgers on Deck. We will check in with
Dodgers broadcaster Jeff Levering as we lead you out to
first pitch on Ron Say bobblehead night, Dodgers and Brewers.
I'm Tim Kasi is the world champion. Los Angeles Dodgers
(22:39):
Audio Network.
Speaker 8 (22:43):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
On your home for the Blue All Season Law.

Speaker 8 (23:13):
And now joined by David Basseying, here's La Dodgers broadcaster
and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday.
Speaker 9 (23:22):
All right, this is the space Rick Monday usually occupies,
but Rick's on vacation, so I thought, why not tap
into one of, in my opinion, the best play by
play man in Major League Baseball. Right now, that's the
one and only Brewers broadcaster Jeff Levering, who's a socow kid.
Coming back home. Jeff, thanks a lot for the time,
(23:42):
and great to have you back in La.
Speaker 12 (23:44):
Oh, it's great to be here, David.
Speaker 13 (23:45):
And believe me, your check is in the mail for
saying those nice things. All that stuff is not true,
but thank you. It's great to be back.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
It is true. And I remind the Brewers they're renting you.
Speaker 13 (23:55):
I find that hard to believe as well. But it's
if I'm on rental, then I'm on a long term rental.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
That's all.
Speaker 9 (24:01):
What's it like this season for you, just broadcasting without
the presence of Bob Buker.
Speaker 12 (24:06):
Yeah, it's it's been tricky. It depends on you know.
Everywhere we go we feel it.
Speaker 13 (24:12):
You know, even coming back to Dodger Stadium. One of
his last playoff series on the road was here in
twenty eighteen, so we're always reminded of him, and even
though he's not here in person, he's always with us.
It feels much like coming to Dodger Stadium and not
seeing Vince Scully. I know he's been gone for a
few years now and even retired back in twenty sixteen,
but you always feel the presence.
Speaker 12 (24:33):
That's how it is in Milwaukee with you two, we
always feel it.
Speaker 9 (24:35):
Do you have any tip of the cap to him
when you broadcast this year?
Speaker 12 (24:39):
We've always done something.
Speaker 13 (24:40):
I think at the beginning of the year, the first
home run that the Brewers hit this season, it was
either going to be myself on radio or laying Grendel
on the radio saying his catchphrase of get up, get up.
Speaker 12 (24:50):
Get out of here gone.
Speaker 13 (24:52):
That was a one and done, we'd said at one
time for the first home run of the season. And
now Vinnie Kaepra is no longer in the Brewers organization.
Speaker 12 (24:58):
And that call has been retired. That was his call.
Speaker 13 (25:01):
We we had to talk to the family make sure
they were okay with us doing that. They gave us
the blessing and it was a one and done for
the call. So that's his and we'll we'll live and
die with Bob Buker.
Speaker 9 (25:11):
That's the great voice of Jeff Levering, who's in town
with the Brewers. And it feels like the Brewers, speaking
of twenty eighteen, are as good as they have been
since twenty eighteen. Is that the right feel?
Speaker 13 (25:22):
It's a special group. I mean, twenty eighteen had some
pretty great names. That was Eelg's MVP year and he's
playing pretty darn well. Maybe not an MVP caliber, but
he has led this team to where they are right
now with nineteen homers sixty plus RBIs maybe not the
best banning average, but he's been on a tear for
the last two months. It's a fun group and it's
built on pitching it's built on defense, not hitting a
(25:44):
lot of home runs, but scoring a ton of runs.
And nobody can score runs the way the Brewers have
in the last three weeks, They've had the best record
since the middle of May. I don't think they can
die with just people stepping up and people underestimating these players.
Speaker 12 (25:57):
Look at the Brewers' bullpen.
Speaker 13 (25:58):
It's mostly a group of DMA guys, and get an
opportunity to succeed. The Brewers have had a way of
getting the absolute best out of a ton of relievers.
And even if you go back to that eighteen season,
you go with a jefferis a cannable and a Josh
Hater at the back end of that bullpen.
Speaker 12 (26:14):
Josh Hater is coming gone as a closer.
Speaker 13 (26:16):
Then you bring in Devin Williams, who's a closer now
he's a Yankee. Trevor McGill is now a closer. So
they have had a great formula for success of getting
the best out of these players and really lighting a
fire underneath them, of being cast offs from other organizations,
and they come and they find a home in Milwaukee,
and they thrived.
Speaker 9 (26:33):
And like you mentioned, the one constant has been Westlake
village's own Christian Yelich I felt like.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
He just couldn't find it. For two years.
Speaker 9 (26:43):
He was grounding, walking on grass, barefoot, just trying to
find something.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
What did he find at the end of a this.
Speaker 13 (26:49):
Year, I think, really and you could go over the
last couple of years. After his twenty nineteen season with
the patella fracture at the end of the season, Cody
Bellinger ends up winning the MVA. Could have made an
argument that yell at, you could have won the MVP
in nineteen fractures his kneecap.
Speaker 12 (27:05):
He was different for a couple of years.
Speaker 13 (27:07):
He did not look comfortable at the plate. He had
some lingering back issues. He cleared through that, and I
think starting in twenty twenty three ish he started to
feel more comfortable. And even last year he'sually in the
National League batting average. Before his back flared up ended
up having surgery. He looks like a different guy this year.
He's dhing all the time now. I think that's helped him.
You got to learn a different way to go about
(27:29):
your daily routine. As a DH you're essentially pinch hitting
four times a day, so he had to learn how
to do that. And I think for him, he bought
into it in the middle of May. He crushes the
ball in Pittsburgh, and it took one series in Pittsburgh
for him to find his swing. And it's been the
same Christian yells from eighteen nineteen and the beginning of
twenty four that we're seeing here in twenty five.
Speaker 9 (27:48):
Jeff Levering's got to save those golden pipes for the
Brewers broadcast. But before I let you go, the Dodgers
are not going to see Jacob Mizerowski this series. They
saw him in Milwaukee. They got a taste of it.
Kershaw knows who he is now, Jeff, don't worry.
Speaker 13 (28:02):
Ye, He's not that baby giraffe out there and twisting
his ankle out on the mound. I think everybody knows
who Misserowski is now. Now he goes to the All
Star Game after pitching in five Big League games, he
is must watch television.
Speaker 12 (28:14):
I know it was Paul Skins last year.
Speaker 13 (28:16):
Misowski beat Paul Skins earlier this season, then took on
Kershaw on his next home start.
Speaker 12 (28:21):
I think he's here to stay. He's fun to watch,
There's no doubt.
Speaker 9 (28:24):
All right, Jeff, I have a feeling I might be
going back to Milwaukee in October. I'm super excited. Thanks
a lot for the time and always great to see
you back in LA.
Speaker 12 (28:33):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 13 (28:33):
They stay away from the slide. You can have as
many brats as you want, but no slide for you.
Speaker 9 (28:37):
Hey, thank you for the PSA. Tim will send it
back to you.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
All right, Thanks a lot, guys.
Speaker 7 (28:42):
Great to hear from Jeff levery one of the good
guys out of Chapman University. Just like our own step
and Nelson. That's the Dodgers game plan. What's your game plan?
How about starting your future to California the community college
Financial Laid's available to help you with tuition, books, and
sometimes even the rent.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
It's time to take that next big step.
Speaker 7 (28:57):
Classes can fill him quickly, so en roll today. I
can go to college dot com. Still to come here
at Dodgers on Deck, we'll get you a preview of
this pitching matchup. Steven and David will be back with
the keys to the game. But up next we go
high and tight with Mookie Betts. It's the Dodgers and
the Brewers on this Friday night post All Star Break.
First pitch of seven ten. I'm Tim Katsis, the world
(29:18):
champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
As we were saying, this.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
Is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on the official home
of LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
Dodgers and the Brewers, Tyler glass Now and Quinn Priester.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
The pitching matchup.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
First pitch coming up at seven ten is Ron Say
Is being inducted into the Legends of Dodgers Baseball, the
ninth member of the class, Dusty Baker or Hersheiser, Steve Garvey,
Fred Clare, Mike Sosha, and of course his former infield mate,
the great Bill Russell, also here in attendance, says they
honor Ron Say First pitch coming up at seven to ten.
(30:03):
Dodgers Baseball brought to you by Shaky's Pizza Parler, the official
pizza partner of the Dodgers Audio broadcast. When it's game night,
it's group night at Shaky's Dot Com.
Speaker 8 (30:12):
And now what will likely be vast fielding insults from
a Dodger player.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
It's an engagement of endearment.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
This this high and tight.
Speaker 9 (30:21):
I'm with eight time All Star, six time goal glover,
MVP and don't forget it. The one and only Mookie Bets.
Thanks a lot for the time and great to see
you again.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Yes, sir, is good to be back.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Did you have vassay with Draws during the All Star break?
Speaker 14 (30:36):
I did, That's why. That's why the first thing I
did was come come see you.
Speaker 9 (30:40):
How was your All Star break? I'm sure it was great,
just to get some R and R.
Speaker 14 (30:45):
Yeah, you know, I'll kind of talk with my wife
that says, this is the first time in a long
time I've gotten a break.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
And I'm really getting to go home and.
Speaker 14 (30:53):
Hang out with the kids, see my parents. So just
kind of, like you said, get a little R on ours.
It was a beautiful thing.
Speaker 9 (31:01):
I'm not sure if bre you heard me, but on
the radio leading up to the All Star break, I said,
I had this vision for Mookie just hanging out by
the pool, you know, somebody bringing him some drinks, not
him getting up once because you know, I felt like
you needed that physical and mental break.
Speaker 14 (31:18):
Yeah, I wish that was the case.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
It was.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
Uh.
Speaker 14 (31:21):
I went home to Nashville, so it was really hot,
so but no, it was it was good. I got this,
like I said, like you said, I got to spend
time with with the wife with the kids and just
get to do stuff be in Nashville in the summer out.
I can't even tell you the last time I've been
to Nashville in this summertime, and I've been you know,
I'm born and raised and born and raised there, So
it was really just good to get to see some
people I haven't seen in a long time.
Speaker 9 (31:42):
Did you pick up a bat while you're in Nashville
or did you only pick up a bowling ball?
Speaker 14 (31:48):
I picked up a bat every day, every day as
soon as the Yeah, I mean every day.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
I mean, I'm not gonna stop, you know, obviously, you know.
Speaker 14 (31:55):
Me, I'm I'm not gonna I can't live with uh
with what I what I I've been doing, and so
I'm doing my best is turning around.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
So I definitely put in the effort.
Speaker 14 (32:04):
Now, it's just just a matter.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Of showing it during the game.
Speaker 9 (32:07):
You always hear in baseball you can't try to do
too much. Is that the same as trying to get
that feel back? You can't try to force it?
Speaker 14 (32:15):
Yeah, I mean, I guess, but it's like if you're
not trying, then you know, it doesn't just fall on you.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
You know it doesn't just discover itself.
Speaker 14 (32:23):
So it's one of those balance where you're balancing and
balancing acts.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Where yeah, you don't want to work too hard, but
then you know, how do you find it?
Speaker 14 (32:32):
You know, and I'm on I always an error on
the end of working too hard because at least I
can go to sleep at night knowing that I did
everything I could possibly to find it.
Speaker 9 (32:42):
Yeah, you working, you grinding every day is not the question,
But did you feel did you get the feel in Nashville?
Speaker 14 (32:49):
I don't know, man, I got a lot of feels
even during the year earlier. So you know, we'll see
when the game starts, and you know, I have to
just accept what comes. And you know, I was as
long as we win, man, that's the most important thing.
And if I can help the team win, whether it's
won a bat in the ninth inning or in the
first thing, or whatever it is, making a play, whatever
it is. You know, at this point, you know, I
(33:11):
just know you'll be remembered for wins and not necessarily
individual performances.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
So I have to just keep that mindset.
Speaker 9 (33:18):
MOOKI for the group, what is the biggest key for
you guys to be successful in the second half.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Health.
Speaker 14 (33:24):
That's first just staying healthy, and then after that, man,
it's I don't know if that there is a certain key,
just because you go through so many ebbs and flows,
and one minute you're not hitting, and so you're really
in the focus on hitting, and then moment you're not pitching,
and so you just kinda flow and really just play
the game. We know how to play and to make
(33:45):
the adjustments we know we need to make, and most
of all, just have fun.
Speaker 9 (33:50):
Who do you lean on these days good and bad
as far as your teammates go. We know you got
the support system at home, but who really do you
lean on?
Speaker 4 (33:58):
And who leans on? Mookie bats on the Dodgers.
Speaker 14 (34:01):
I don't know that anybody leans on me, just because
I kind of get in my own world and trying
to especially now.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
I mean, it's it's really it's really hard.
Speaker 14 (34:08):
I'm trying to really find myself, so it's hard to
really help other people with their mechanics and whatnot. I
mean mentally, you know, I'm always there for the guys,
but for me, I talked to a lot to Freddy
mage Rohas. I mean, really, all the guys, really, all
the guys just kind of wrap their arms around me
and keep me going.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
But sometimes it takes me to do it.
Speaker 14 (34:25):
Sometimes I have to lean on myself and really talk
to myself in a positive manner, and.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Sometimes it doesn't work either.
Speaker 14 (34:31):
So it's just a matter of just figuring out who
you want to talk to, what it is you want
to talk about, because there's many different things that this
team supplies with all the Vets, you know, that's the
beauty thing, the beautiful thing about it. So you know,
I don't have anything anybody in specific, but.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
But the Dodgers themselves all help. Mookie Vets.
Speaker 9 (34:50):
I still keep in touch with your guy, JD. Martinez.
He's not he's not available these days. He's too busy
free diving off the coast in Florida.
Speaker 5 (34:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (34:59):
He he's living his best life now.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
Man.
Speaker 14 (35:02):
He dropped the bat and he picked up everything else,
So I'm glad he's having fun.
Speaker 9 (35:07):
Did you have a chance to watch the end of
the All Star Game? What did you think about the
swing off?
Speaker 14 (35:11):
I thought it was really cool, really really cool. It
seemed like it brought something neat different that everybody really enjoyed.
And it still brought the element of pressure, you know,
with three swings, and I thought.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed watching it.
Speaker 9 (35:25):
Would you buy in if that was part of a
regular season extra inning situation?
Speaker 14 (35:29):
I mean, yeah, I think that would be Uh, that
would make it fun for sure. You know, there's nothing
about the big Game of baseball, but it would definitely
make it fun and at least going to the extra innings,
we can enjoy it instead of dread and going to
the extra innings.
Speaker 9 (35:45):
Hey, mothers across America, love this guy, love this smile.
Never forget how good Mookie Bets is because you are
one of the best on the planet and we look
forward to a great second half.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Yes, Sarah, thank you.
Speaker 9 (35:57):
There he goes Mookie Bets, and you'll receive a gift card.

Quinn Priester on the mound seven to two, three fifty

round pick of the Pirates in twenty nineteen, making his
thirteenth start, eighteenth appearance, six to zero at the two
ninety three ERA, forty seven strikeouts in his last ten appearance.
He's got a lot of run support too. This is
his first time facing the Dodgers. Tyler glass Now on

one year old right handers ten season in the Big Leagues,
making just his seventh start after spending two months on
the IL a the bad arm last time out before
the All Star break, Well was really good against the Brewers.
Five innings in Milwaukee, one run, two hits, five strikeouts,
but a no decision. Including the last time out. Glass
now is zero to two and an ERA of five
to twenty six and eight appearances. Again, It's Milwaukee, It's
(38:01):
the Dodgers and the Brewers. On Ron say Bobblehead nine
fifteen minutes away from first pitch. Keys to the game
are next. I'm Tim Kaise is the world champion. Los

This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Walk on your home for the Blue all season log.
Speaker 7 (38:22):
It's the Dodgers and the Brewers on this Friday night
to start the second half of the season. Tyler Glass
now on the mount, first pitch coming up at seven
to ten. The Dodgers with thirty three home wins the
first half of the season, tied for the most in
the major leagues. When the Boys in Blue play at home,
it's important they have the right plan to protect their
house before setting up a campfire. Make sure to get
a permit from cal Fire and check local restrictions. Know
(38:45):
how to properly set up a campfire and extinguish it
using the drownedstir and field method. Also, always have a
water supply and shovel nearby to extinguish a campfire. Properly
maintain car breaks so there's no metal to metal contact
that can cause sparks.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
These are all important tips.
Speaker 7 (39:00):
For more and to find out others, visit fire dot
CA dot gov. All right, we head back over to
Steven Nelson, Davin mass Hey, guys.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
All right, Tim here with David Besse one more time,
getting ready for the first pitch of the second half
quote unquote, obviously well past the midway point of one
hundred and sixty two game season.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
This will be Game.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Ninety eight of one to sixty two and kicking off
for stretch run against a really quality opponent, David. Because
the Brewers have won seven in a row, they have
the third best record in the National League. This is
a team that wants to challenge the Dodgers in the
Phillies for one of those first round byes in the NL.
Speaker 9 (39:33):
And it feels like another lifetime ago. But let's not
forget that Tyler glass Now handled this lineup really well
in his first start back. So pitching and holding down
this lineup wasn't an issue in that glass Now start.
It was the Dodger bats. And if you look at
this series, the Dodgers are going to stack up against
some of the better Brewers starters that you know obviously
(39:54):
have carried the wave for them, but tonight maybe kind
of their weak spot and the Dodgers need to take
advantage of it and come out and get a win tonight.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
And when I say the Dodgers and Phillies Cubs fans
who might have been listening, I do not it did
not omit you on purpose.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Obviously doesn't matter if you did.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
And you say that this is the light spot of
the rotation.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Quinn Priesters acquired from the Boston Red Sox, and he
just hopped right into the Brewers pitching factory. I don't
know if that's the thing, but he is six and
oero over his last nine starts with an ERA below three.
So the Dodger Bats, which again were relatively silent the
last couple of weeks, heading into the break, I'm really
interested to see how they come out and kick off
(40:36):
the second half.
Speaker 9 (40:37):
Yeah, and I feel like, you know, a lot of
these guys, like you mentioned earlier in the show, needed
a reset, and we'll see whether or not Otani, Betts,
and Freeman can get back on track at the same time,
at least two out of the three. But when you
look at this pitching matchup this weekend, the Dodgers aren't
seeing Mizerowski, they're not seeing wood Rough, but they're going
to see Freddy Peralta tomorrow. So I feel like they
(40:58):
have a very good opportunity to jump over two Brewers
starters in Priester tonight and Kinana on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Yeah, on paper, the Dodgers have that edge in the
starting pitching matchup, but as we all know they don't
play the games on paper, Tim, they play between the
white lines.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
And these two teams never heard that before.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
Never, never, It's the first time. It's not a cliche,
no one has ever said that before. First pitch, Tyler Glass, Now.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
You gonna hate me by the end of this time,
I came.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
I could never hate you, David Banksay, I could not
hate you, dv A first pitch thrown out to Bryce
terrang in just a few moments, Tim back to you, all.
Speaker 7 (41:35):
Right, Thank you, Nelly coming up. First pitch. Dodgers and
Brewers run. Save Bobblehead Night, the ninth member of the
Legends of Dodgers Baseball officially going in tonight. Congratulations to
the Penguin. First bitch is next. I'm Tim kase Is,
the world champion. Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network
