Welcome to Dodgers on Tech. Now your host walking you
up to first pitch.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Tim Kashi, everybody, and good afternoon. Welcome into Morongo Casino,
Dodgers on Day. Hope you're well on this Wednesday afternoon.
As your world champion Dodgers sit at fifty nine and
forty three on this season and as we speak, first
place atop the NL West, a three and a half
game leader with the Padres, who are in action right

(01:01):
now today. The Dodgers wrap up this homestand with the
final game of this three game series against the Minnesota Twins.
Tyler Glass now on the mound, first pitch from Dodger
Stadium is set for one ten coming up over the
next sixty minutes here on Morogo Casino, Dodgers on Deck,
you're gonna hear from the Dodger manager Dave Roberts, get
his pregame thoughts on what's happening to this Dodgers team

(01:22):
right now, struggling going into the All Star Break and
limping their way out of the All Star break here
in the second half of the season. We'll dive deeper
into today's pitching matchup. We got your Dodgers magical moment
coming up. At about thirty minutes, David vas State checks in.
Throughout the hour, he'll go one on one with Dodger
reliever Will Klein, who is a big Baseball card Officionadoh,

(01:42):
something we can all get behind. Shortly, we'll visit with
Kirsten Watson from Sports Net LA, and in just a
few minutes we'll head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast
booth and checking with Steven Nelson and Rick Monday. Well,
last night it was a disaster for the Dodgers' bullpen,
who really the last three games have strugg fourteen and
two thirty eights. They give up an eleven earned runs,

(02:03):
fifteen hits, struck out thirteen, walk thirteen and a lot
of that was last night after Yoshi Yamamoto got the start.
He went five innings, allowed three runs on five hits
as the Dodgers found themselves down three to nothing going
to the bottom half of the fourth inning when they
got the offense going two on for Andy Piez.

Speaker 8 (02:23):
A ball on a strike, two on nobody else. Now
Patz pubbles the ball. What field has gone and we're tied.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Andy Potez has gone deepened back to back games. He's
up to nineteen on the air. A three run blest.
We got a new game, Andy Paez with a three
run home run that tied the game up at three.
Dodger Stadium starting to come alive with the top tier
played the game brought to by Arco Quality top tier

(02:58):
gas for less. Dodgers and Twins all tied at three
all the way until the sixth inning when Benksparrius got
into trouble, walked three including the bases loaded, walked in
a run, had to come out of the game with
a leg cramp. The Twins in that sixth inning would
go on and score three runs to take a six
to three lead.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Oof.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
The Dodgers, though, came back in the bottom of the
sixth inning the bottom of the order, delivering I Sung Kim.

Speaker 8 (03:25):
When he hits it hard, it's an out. When he
hits it perfect, the Dodgers lose a run.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
He Sung Kim the right center field of base hit
Smith scorers Conferno wheeling around two runs on one swing
for Hessung Kim. It's now a one run game, six
to five. I Sung Kim with a two runs single
the center. Dodgers with two in the bottom of the
six answered back. They made it a one run game,

(03:50):
down six to five. However, in the seventh inning, it
really came apart for Will Klein and in Ogardo Henriquez
and the Dodgers bullp We mentioned the numbers just not
good lately.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
Last night.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
They bases loaded in the sixth damage by the Twins,
and then again bases loaded damage in the seventh. A
throwing there for Benguardo Henriquez cleared the basis as he
threw it down the right field line to the ball
boy who's the only person in the area. As the
Minnesota Twins took a nine to five lead with three
runs of the six three more in the seventh, they

(04:25):
tacked on one more than ninth to take a ten
to five lead. In the bottom of the ninth inning,
the Dodgers down ten to five, they'd cut into that
deficit thanks to a show Heo Tani opposite way two
run home run to left center field, as the Dodgers
made it a ten to seven game on show Heyo
Tani's thirty six home run of this season.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
But that was it.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
That's as close as they would get. Former Dodger Brock Stewart.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Gets the win.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Ben Kispirius gets the loss. The Dodgers now fifty nine
and forty three on this season and they need a
win to get this series win against the Minnesota Twins
and then head out on the road on a positive note.
Tyler Glastow on the mount on this Wednesday first pitch
of one ten and with more we head out to
the Galpin Motors broadcast booth as we say hello and
good afternoon to Stephen Nelson and Rick Monday.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (05:11):
All right, Tim, It's a midweek getaway day game at
Dodgers Stadium as the Dodgers prepared to hit the road
for a lengthy road trip Boston Cincinnati in Tampa. The
first things first, one more with the Minnesota Twins Rick Monday,
and the series is on the line today after one
of the more embarrassing and atrocious performances we have seen

(05:34):
out of the Dodgers in recent memory. There was just
not a lot of good from that game last night.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
No too many pitches that totally missed the home plate
and too many swings that missed the plates on top
of it, I mean, seven runs and you're not really
have a sense that you're in the ballgame. I go
back to what Dave Roberts was really saying prior to
the Monday's game when asked about the ball club and
trying to snap that at the time game losing streak,

(06:00):
he says, look, we need to do the little things
to win ball games. Where they're still not doing the
little things consistently, and he was talking about, look, fielding
the ball correctly, throwing the ball at the right base,
catching the ball properly, running the bases properly, and then winning.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Three ball and two strike counts. That's not happening this
particular time.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Two more airs in last night's games, so they've now
made twelve this month, and they entered yesterday's ball game,
only two teams in baseball had committed more airs this
month than what the Dodgers had done. That's totally out
of the description of the ability level of his team.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
And the standards for this team.

Speaker 8 (06:34):
And look to be clear, yep, three and a half
games in front of the padre is still a first
place team in the National League West. But the fact
that Dave Roberts said last night openly and publicly a
couple of things. One from a baseball perspective, it's a
tough watch right now, it really is. That's a direct
quote from Dave Roberts. And the other thing is he
called into question the focus of this team. And when

(06:56):
you are six and eleven in the month of July
errors in the month of July, I don't know what
you need from a veteran Leyden clubhouse to wake up
and snap out of it and focus.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
That doesn't mean.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
You're gonna win every game from here on out, but
just the bad news Bears baseball that they're putting on
display consistently this month, it's mystifying.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, I'm putting in a different different context and having
been in locker rooms with teams that are not playing
up to their ability level. And we would not be
having this conversation if they were playing up to their ability.
They're not doing it right now. Oh, yes, as you mentioned,
they're still in the first place in the Nation League
Western Division. Yes, they still have one of the better
records in Major League Baseball. However, you can't keep taking

(07:43):
the band aid off and then putting it back on,
and then taking it back off and then putting it
back on. At some point in time, you've got to
put some ointment on it. And I'm not certain that
the Dodgers did to this point, are ready to do
it to have that ointment put on. I think they're
sick and tired of being sick and tired, no question
about it. And it starts to gnaw at you individually
and I think collectively and the ball club might be

(08:05):
right at that point right now, and I would expect
today all firing with Tyler Glastan on the Mountainho's pitched
very well the last couple of outings, not had a
lot of runs scored behind him. This is the perfect
scenario in the stage to say, look, we're going to
write the ships.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Let's start today.

Speaker 8 (08:19):
I don't think you can call the game in July
before the deadline of must win.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
That's I think that's too dramatic.

Speaker 8 (08:27):
This is an important game for them to win because one,
the series is on the line. Two you're facing one
of the worst teams in the American League, certainly one
of the worst road teams in all of baseball, in
the Minnesota Twins. This is his handle business series, and
so it's important for.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
Them to win this series.

Speaker 8 (08:45):
Get on the plane with a little bit of a Okay,
we saw the ball go in the hole. That's what
it felt like to win a ball game. Now let's
go face Boston in Fenway Park. So Tim, as we
get it back to you again, I'm hesitant to say
must win, but it does that have that type of
feeling as we sit here right now getting ready for
the series finale. We'll talk more about the keys to

(09:06):
the game the next time we visit with you.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I agree with you, Nelly, as we caunt you down
to first pitch, Dodger fans, get your game day meal
on and Shakey's pizza.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Paul, Yeah, what are you doing for launch right now?

Speaker 3 (09:15):
You're looking around thinking launch little Dodgers Baseball's coming up.
How about ordering Shaky's Pizza, chicken and mojos. Yeah, a
bunch of lunch at Shaky's order right now. It's Shaky's
dot Com coming up here on Wrongo Casino Dodgers on
deck here from the manager Dave Roberts David vasa checkst
in of course throughout the showtime deeper into this pitchy
matchup with Tyler Glass now on the mound, hoping to

(09:37):
get the Dodgers back on trap before the road trip.
But up next youro Tani Rewine and we visit with Sports.
Then LA's Kirston Watson live on the field at Dodgers Stadium.
That's all coming up as we lead you up to
Dodgers and Twins on this Wednesday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim kase Is, the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio A Network.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting on a new game
on your home for LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Cleaning up to Dodgers and Twins on this Wednesday afternoon,
final game of this three game series, final game of
this post All star homestand Tyler glassnew goes for the
Dodgers first pitcher one ten.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
This is the Otani reewid.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
Ten to five, Twins up. Dodgers have two more strikes left.
Otani hits a.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Fly ball to left fielding deep back toward the wall
that is gone. Show Hey Oltani, for the first time
in his career, has hit a home run in four
straight games. An opposite field two run shot is thirty
six of the season and the Dodgers are within three

(10:52):
Better late than never, Show Hey O'tani is a one
hit last night, a two run opposite field home run
in the nine thinning. His thirty sixth home run of
the season. RBIs number sixty eight and sixty nine for
show Hey Otani. Unfortunately, the Dodgers lost to the Twins
ten to seven.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Hey Kirsten now joins this from the stadium, brought to
you by Cars for Kids.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Ready to donate that old car?

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Call eight seven seven Cars for Kids right now, Friendly
agents standing by to take your donation. That's Cars with
the K to donate your car today. Dodgers tough loss
last night, back to back nights. They saw a reliever
walk off the mound last night, big hissparious the night
before Tanner Scott, what's going on with this bully?

Speaker 9 (11:39):
Yeah, no, exactly. It seems like the injury bug just
keeps finding its way to the Dodgers. But obviously with
Tanner Scott when he exited the game, it was a
big scare how he was holding his arm. We now
know that he's got some farm elbow inflammation, but the
MRI showed no structural damage, which is huge, and he's
actually only going to be shut down for a few
days and then he'll picked back up a baseball And

(12:02):
so honestly, everyone is one feeling really good, but honestly
kind of surprised just how quick his return could be.
It's definitely best case scenario for Tanner Scott. They of
course want to give him the time to heal, but
the fact that he could be available sooner than later
is huge, and just that it was not a season
ending injury is huge. Then for Ben Casparius yesterday, so
when he came into the game dealing with some sampling,

(12:24):
tried to play through it. Just obviously with due to
the injuries going on at the moment, so tried to
play through it ultimately, just the stuff was not there.
So also had some scans today, came in feeling just
so much better. So Dave Roberts that he had a
conversation with him, and they feel really good just about
you know, understanding in the situation and understanding that yes,

(12:47):
he tried to play through it, but moving forward like today,
he definitely going to be dealing with some sortis but
he will be back online just of course with the
off day tomorrow, just the other day to reset. So
it's just a matter of getting the guys in the
bulkan to kind of get back on track right now.
And it's of course the long season and there's ebbs
and flows. That's what Kurbate's is just telling me. But

(13:07):
they do feel good about getting back to where they're
at their best.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Speaking of getting back the Dodgers, getting back some guys
in the rotation hopefully soon. We saw Tyler Glass now
make his return before the All Star break. What about
Rochi Sasaki kind of a name we have forgotten about
the last month.

Speaker 9 (13:22):
Honestly, I feel like we haven't heard much because there
was a moment where he was kind of shut down
for throwing. But he's been taking some really huge strides.
He actually took part in a long bullpen session today.
Dave Roberts swis saying that actually, when the team leaves
to go on the road, he's going to be hitting
to Arizona next week and taking part in some live
vps facing hitters, and then he kind of go from

(13:43):
there and see how that goes and then beguil to
begin his progression. So he's still got some time. A
few days ago, Dave Roberts said that looking at the
end of August seems pretty realistic. So he's just he's
taking really positive strides and now is the time frame
to work thro a few things. The delivery saints some
stuff up, but he's healthy. The bullpens up looks really good.

(14:04):
He's throwing all his full pitch mix. So hey, he's
another arm that will be seeing returning just like Blake
Snell relatively soon.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Hopefully he can come back soon and be another arm
that the Dodgers can add here after the trade deadline
and down the stretch. Run Kirstill, we appreciate that. We'll
check out with you after the game. Still to come
here on Wrongo Casino. Dodgers on Deck will dive deeper
into this pitching matchup. David Vassengo's one on one with
Will Climb. But up next, we get you an injury
report and we'll hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts.
That's the Dodgers and Twins on this Wednesday, first pitch

(14:33):
of one ten.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I'm Tim Katson. This is the world champion Los Angeles
Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (14:40):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues as he lead took
the first pitch on this Wednesday. So Dodgers and Minnesota Twins.
Dodgers looking to get the series win over in Minnesota.
Moron Casino Resort and spa Hey Grand Slam for good times.
Tyler Glass now and Chris Paddock. The pitching matchup, first
pitch coming up at one ten.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
This is the LA Dodgers Injury Report.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Presented by UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of the Los
Angeles Dodgers. Tanner Scott on the iel with the left
forum inflammation. Key k Hernandez on the iel with the
bat left elbow. Max Munty working his way back from
the left night knee bone, Bruce More on that with
David Vasse coming up, Michael Kopek, Tony Gonsol on the
I L. Blake Snell, Blake tried it all trending in

(15:32):
the right direction. You heard Curiousen talking about Roki Sasaki
will go to Arizona and throw as he is trending for.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
A late August comeback.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
All right, speaking of comeback, let's go back out to
Dodgers Stadium and checking with the Dodger skipper.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Anything else?

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Do you questions for Dave?

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about
the pressure in.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
The dugouts with Dave Roberts.

Speaker 10 (15:55):
It's important and I think it's it's one of these
things where we talked a little bit last night the
last few days as far as doing the little things,
and I think you know, it's specific to the bullpen.
It's getting strike one, getting the first hitter of an
inning or the first hitter you're going to face, you know,

(16:15):
not allowing free passes and when you get count leverage,
put guys away, and that's stuff that has been a
hallmark of our pitching staff bullpen in you know, in recency, right,
so that's kind of the focus and fielding a position,
holding runners, and you know, further specific to the pitchers,
that's the stuff that we need from them.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
And then on the other side, we've.

Speaker 10 (16:37):
Got to take good at bats and test the baseball
and do things like that. Run the basis properly. So
we do stuff like that, it doesn't matter who's on
the roster, who's not on the roster, who's healthy, who's not.
That's all stuff that's controllable and so for me, that
will lead to wins. And so that's what I want

(16:59):
to kind of be mindful love going forward.

Speaker 11 (17:02):
Bill did say that he as bet you mentioned that
he tried to push through what he knew was an
injury because the bullpen was scuffling because there's been so
many injuries. And he said, you respect that, but is
that sort of the flip side of this whole struggle
with the pitching staff that guys are now trying to
do too much.

Speaker 10 (17:18):
Yeah, but I will say it's not an injury. It
wasn't an injury. It was, uh, you know, you have discomfort,
and I'm sure he's pitched through things that are that
are more significant. But yes, when things are going how
they're going. People tend to want to do more, uh,
to try to be proactive and force certain things. So

(17:40):
that's that's a part of it, and that's just that's
just human nature. So I think that the way I
look at it is he's not hurt or injured.

Speaker 6 (17:49):
It was a cramp.

Speaker 10 (17:50):
Understanding why he tried to push through it in that moment,
I understand it all Right.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
There's a manager, Dave Roberts talking about Ben Caspery is
there talking about the latest of the Dodgers injury news.
In needing Tyler glassnow to give him some effort today
on the mount and get some good defense behind them.
All around, the Dodgers needs to play better in all
facets and get this series win. When we continue here
on Dodgers on Deck, we will check in with the
David Bassa as we lead you up to first pitch

(18:17):
on this Wednesday Dodgers in the Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Twins, first pitch of one ten. I'm Tim Kates is
a world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino Dodgers on
Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Dodgers and Twins wrapping up this three game set on
this Wednesday afternoon. Tyler Glass now Chris Paddock. The pitching matchup,
first pitch coming up at Oneton.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on Deck. I accept everybody
for who they are. This is Dodger insider David.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
David now joins us on this Wednesday before the Dodgers
and Twins final game of the series, final game of
this Homestand all right, David, Max Munsey, what's going on
with the bone bruise and the knee.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Well, yesterday he took betting practice on the field. In
the past few days before yesterday, Mounsey was in shorts
and you could see the sleeve on his left leg,
but he was a regular participant for the most part.
Yesterday took betting practice with the rest of the team,
but did not take fielding drills at third base. Max
Munsey is headed out on a rehab assignment after the

(19:29):
Dodgers leave today for their long extended East Coast road
trip to Boston, Cincinnati, and Tampa. Max joined us a
couple of days ago and shared some light on his
injury and when he may come back.

Speaker 12 (19:44):
Yeah, I don't think we still fully know what the
timetable is just yet, but the progression's going well, things
are moving quick, maybe quicker than what we were expecting.
But you know, part of that is just understanding. You
know where your body's at, where the injuries at. Uh,
you know what the context of the injury is, and

(20:04):
you know, are you gonna hurt it worse or are
you not gonna hurt it worse? And so you know,
when you understand those things, you're able to kind of
set a mindset, at least for me. You know, you
kind of know how I am, and so when I
get that mindset, I'm gonna get going.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
What's the information you've gotten on that? Is it a
pain tolerance situation? Is it about you just trying to
feel comfortable playing with this type of pain?

Speaker 6 (20:26):
Yeah, it's a little bit of all the above.

Speaker 13 (20:28):
You know.

Speaker 12 (20:29):
Uh, I don't think I can make it any worse
unless you recreate what happened, and obviously I don't plan
on doing that. Uh So from there, it's kind of
just a tolerance thing. And you know that's where I'm
just trying to put I'm trying to push things, trying
to be smart about it, but uh, you know, if
if things feel good, I'm gonna I'm gonna keep progressing forward.

Speaker 6 (20:49):
And you know that's the biggest thing right now.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Hey, that's a big deal for the Dodgers to get
Max Muncy back in this starting lineup, and if he's
going out to play games, that's a big, big difference
from what we realized was happening the night that he
injured his left knee and had a left knee bone. Bruce,
so very encouraging that, you know months he will return
in some point in August.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
David is brought to you by the twenty twenty five
to for f one to fifty from California's best selling
Trunck Brand.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
It's time to see Ford in a new light.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
Ford for America, from America, All Right West, the Lightiest
with Blake Snell.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
DV Well.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
We all thought he may be making a start in Cincinnati,
but the Dodgers have other plans for stacking up their rotation.
He's going to make another rehab start and there is
still a very good chance he could pitch by the
end of the upcoming road trip. It's not that he's
not feeling good or can't go right now, it's just
the Dodgers have looked at the schedule, have looked at

(21:49):
the matchups, which includes Shohei Otani, and have decided that
one more rehab start before he comes back is best
for everybody to place the rest of the rotation, including Snell,
in the right landing spots.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
David Ware a little over a week away from the
trade deadline in Major League Baseball July thirty first, does
the Tanner Scott injury now that he's on the injured list,
does that change what the Dodgers maybe are planning to
try to do or not do with the deadline.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Well, I don't believe we'll know the extent of what's
going on with Tanners Scott fully until after the trade deadline.
The Dodgers rightfully so do not want to give other
teams more leverage. But Brandon Gomes, the Dodgers GM told
me yesterday they're looking forward to having Bruce Star, Graderol
and Blake Trenton back in their bullpen by August. That's

(22:40):
a huge boost for them. And also what could help
the Dodgers leverage before and between now and July thirty
first is Alexis Diaz's performance. If Diaz can come back,
close to his All Star form from a couple of
years ago with the Reds. That alleviates a lot of
pressure on Andrew Eat meant to be able to pull

(23:01):
off multiple trades for a high leverage right handed reliever,
But obviously they're still looking to target that part of
their roster to improve between now and July thirty.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
First, a lot of team is going to be active
between now and next Thursday. DV appreciate it. We'll check
back in with you, and just a little bit coming
up here on Wronggo Casino Dodgers on deck will dive
deeper into this pitching matchup. But I'm next your Dodgers
magical moment. It's the Dodgers and the Twins on this Wednesday,
first pitch at one ten. I'm Tim Kaysister, World Champion
Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Netwe.

Speaker 7 (23:34):
This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for La Dodgers Faceball.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
It's the Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins on this Wednesday afternoon.
Dodgers looking to get the series win, finish off this
homestand on a winning no. Tyler Glass Now Chris Paddock
of the pitching matchup. First pitch coming up and one ten.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
I know not of all with a hot dog who
wants a hot gun?

Speaker 7 (24:03):
It's time for the Hawfy Magical Moment. Ditch Magical presented
by Hawpy hot Dogs.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
We go back five years ago today. Hard to believe
it was five years ago today, July twenty third, twenty twenty.
What a time to be alive. Huh During COVID it
was a shutdown. Baseball restarted on this July twenty third,
five years ago. It was opening night in a COVID
shortened year. Dodgers with a big win against the Giants.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
That's a relatively new addition to baseball.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Here's the two two Hernandez with a fly ball to
deep left field.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
It is way back and it is con.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
A home wrung.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
The crowd is going crazy. Two running shot for kick Hernandez.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
It is now eight to one, no crowds, electronic cheers.
What a time to be alive. In twenty twenty, the
Dodgers Kik Hernandez goes four to five with five Ribby's
part of the Dodgers eight to one win over the
San Francisco Giants in front of literally cardboard cutouts at
a Dodgers Stadium Happy five years ago today the opening

(25:13):
night during COVID. This Hofey Magical moment brought to you
by Hafey hot Dogs, Hafey Sokou's local treasure for nearly
one hundred years Offy.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Hot Dogs, Local and so great.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
When we continue here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll check
in again with a Rick Monday. It leads up to
first pitch Dodgers and Twins. I'm Tim kas Is, the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (25:36):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Burronggo Casino.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Dodgers on Deck continues as we leads up to Dodgers
and Twins on this Wednesday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Tyler Glass. Now Chris Paddock the pitching matchup.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
His time for the Verizon startup is we're a little
bit more than thirty minutes away from the start of
the game. Now you can lock in your low price
for three years so you can save big. Visit the
Horizon store today and now.

Speaker 7 (26:08):
Joined by David Bassey, here's La Dodgers broadcaster and World
Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
All right, Rick, and early start a matinee for the
Dodgers as they get ready for a long road trip
Dodgers and Twins, and certainly the Dodgers need to close
out this homestand and get some momentum.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah, and it'll make a nice little happy flight cross
country as they will head to Boston. And hopefully for
Tyler Glass, now he just continues to get better and better.
I was thinking about something yesterday. By the way, I've
read something I immediately thought to you, because you are
very civic minded, you are very open to little challenge.
You have a little quirky things here, whether it be

(26:48):
going down a slide in Milwaukee, which you got injured,
but you came back. You worked the ballgame with a
broken wrist and broken ribs. I mean, you're a guy
that really goes there. You've had a against Gonzalez, Adrian
Gonzalez down in San Diego, well you lost that one.
You've had some other situations.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
So having won, well I've.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Got another one for you. And I'm just the guy
to bring this up. Because if we go back to
nineteen twenty six, Long Island's Mitchell Field, the Assembly, the media,
they came out and Babe Ruth was wearing an army uniform.
Now you don't have to wear the uniform.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
But here's what Ruth was doing. He was catching.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
They dropped seven baseballs from an airplane that was flying
overhead two hundred and fifty to three hundred miles an
hour right or at least feet above ground level, So
two hundred and fifty to three hundred feet above ground level.
They made seven passes around, and they dropped base balls
every time that they went around. And there was Babe

(27:52):
Ruth catching these balls. Are attempting to catch the balls. Well,
he caught finally the last one, the very seventh one
that was dropped. So my question is, sends them a pilot.
And since you like to do different things. And the
plane was traveling about eighty miles an hour as it
went over, we can get a single engine plane, I

(28:13):
can fly it over, we can set it all up.
We can get you a glove. We'll even get you
a mask to make sure that you're protected in a helmet.
Also because we like the missus. Okay, we like the
missus you, but the missus we like, and we'll do
this moneymaker.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
You got to protect my money maker.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Figure out maybe do it for charity and figure something
out on that end.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
I would be all in for that, Rick, Okay, My
only concern is if you're in the plane. Yeah, you
might mix in a grenade.

Speaker 6 (28:42):
No, No, I will not do that. I will.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
I'll try and get it set up with the FAA.
We'll get it set up in clear an area where
it's safe for everyone except you, and we'll try and
do it.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Maybe right here at Dodger Stadium we see no lambs
and planes fly over all the time.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
No, you see those big things up there called light standards. Okay, Yeah,
you don't want to get close to him on a plane.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
Okay, sounds good.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Rick.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
We'll try that to maybe uh next year, how about that?

Speaker 5 (29:09):
Oh yeah, fine, sure, I'll get back to you.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Have your people call my people.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
Oh yeah, I got a feeling. We'll get a do
not disturb.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Thanks Rick. We'll check back in with you and Steven
a little bit later. Maybe he's interested. We'll send it
back to you in the studio.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Tim, All right, thank you, guys.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Hey, Dodger fans, start your future to California Community college.
Financial aids available to help you with tuition, books, and
sometimes even the rent It's time to take that next
big step. Come on, class is gonna fill up quickly,
So on roll today and I can go to college
dot Com. Still to come here on Dodgers on Deck,
we'll get you a previous pitching matchup.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Rick, We'll be back with Steven Nelson. Get to those
keys to the game. But I'm next.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
We go high and tight Well, We'll climb Dodger reliever
and baseball Cardiff Shonado Dodgers Twins first pitch of one ten.
I'm Tim Kase's world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
As we were saying yes, is Marongo Casino. Dodgers on
jack on, the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Dodgers taking on the Minnesota Twins on this Wednesday afternoon.
Tyler glassnow gets to start Dodgers Baseball, brought to you
by Shaky's Pizza Parlor, the official pizza partner of the
Dodgers Audio Broadcast. When it's game day, it's group day
at Shaky's dot Com.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
And now what will likely be vess a fielding insults
from a Dodger player.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
It's an engagement of endearment.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
This is high and tight Well, It's always fun when
you find a big leaguer that loves the hobby of
baseball cards as much as you do. And Will Climb,
one of the newest Dodger relievers, was spotted at a
local baseball card shop in the San Fernando Valley. So
Will Climb is here joining us. Will thanks a lot
for the time, appreciate it.

Speaker 13 (30:49):
Yeah, thanks for having me.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
You know, when you start pitching for the Dodgers on
this stage and you have that beard, you can't just
walk into any baseball card shop and not be recognized.

Speaker 13 (31:00):
You're true, although a lot of times they go for
may Or Kopek. No, I don't get a lot of
clients yet, but yeah, it's it's hard not to go.
You look, you look familiar, and then they're like, oh shoot,
you know, and so that's you kind of get found
out quick.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
How quickly did it take for you to be uh spotted?

Speaker 13 (31:17):
Well, so I'd messaged them and uh the owner and
like we kind of set that up ahead of time.
But a couple of the employees in there were like, like,
you you look familiar, Like are you Will Kline. I
was like, oh yeah, yeah, I like you know, like
that's one. Most of the times, you know, it's still dustin,
but he trimmed his hair a little bit, so we're
getting less of that, but you know, it was it

(31:38):
was kind of kind of cool. But yeah, yeah, i'd
uh talked to like the owner and and kind of
got like a little tour of that set up ahead
of time.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
So baseball cards are something that we expect fans to love,
but not necessarily the actual baseball players. Is this a
recent you got back into it or you never lost
the kid in you?

Speaker 13 (31:58):
I don't ever lost it. You know, like grow up
collecting you know, Pokemon baseball cards and dad collected and
stuff like that, and then you get a little bit
more adult money, you're like, you know, what what did
I like doing when I was a kid, And then
you know, we got back into Pokemon cards. And then
like with baseball, you're playing so many guys. You are

(32:19):
looking for teammates, looking for like guys you played with
coming up and stuff and like collecting their cards, collecting
your cards, and so I just think like trying to
get people, you know, like definitely makes it a little
more interesting. And so that's that's kind of where we
refound that.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
When you open up baseball card packs or Pokemon packs.
Doesn't it feel like Christmas? Every time?

Speaker 13 (32:37):
It does until you don't get what you're looking for
and then you go buy more.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
What are you looking for? Will Climb?

Speaker 13 (32:44):
I'm like, like I said, I'm looking for uh, you know,
myself and guys I play with, you know, try to
get like even just base cards, like of teammates and
go get them to sign it and stuff like that.
And then Pokemon. My wife likes find all the cute ones.
So that's what we're looking for. There, just something, Oh
that's cute. Let's put in a minder.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
You know.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
Have you found a Hayes song Kim baseball card yet?

Speaker 6 (33:04):
Oh?

Speaker 13 (33:04):
I've got I've got some Kim as you.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
He's right behind us there he is.

Speaker 13 (33:08):
I've got I've got a black out of seventy four
Kim whoa sent to my mom's house. I gotta give
him a sign, very rare.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Rare you.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
So you haven't asked him to sign the baseball card yet?

Speaker 13 (33:18):
I don't. I don't have it on me yet, but
one of these days I'll get him.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
He's got a lot of swag. Does he have those
glasses on when he's in that baseball card.

Speaker 6 (33:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 13 (33:27):
He's got a couple of good poses though, I'm not
sure what, like if he's got the glasses it he got,
he's got something with the bat like up in there.
He's got some good cards out there.

Speaker 6 (33:34):
I need to get.

Speaker 13 (33:34):
I need to get some more kims.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Will Klein is our guest in front of first pitch
between the Dodgers and Twins. You know, I found a
Bob Garan baseball card from nineteen eighty eight.

Speaker 6 (33:43):
Will.

Speaker 4 (33:44):
I took a picture of it and I sent it
to Bob. Can you believe the picture of the player
is not Bob Garan? It's not oh my eighty eight
tops eer, right, Bob Garran, who's sitting right next to us.
What's the story behind that baseball card? They just wanted
to find somebody better look and so they just picked anybody. Hey, Bob,
will Klein, here's a baseball card collector. That's why we're

(34:06):
on the topic of cards. And I had to share
that story.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Okay, right, I didn't know that, Will.

Speaker 6 (34:12):
That's good for you.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
Bob Garrant cards looking the twenty five cent.

Speaker 13 (34:16):
Box, Yeah, they got a lot of those, I'm sure
much inflation, heading hard, Bob Garret, at least be one
cent another quarters.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Hey, Bob, since you're sitting here, do you have anything
good to say about Will Klein?

Speaker 13 (34:30):
He works hard, He's very diligent about what he does.

Speaker 10 (34:33):
He went out PfP today and put on a show
all perfect throws, and that's what I expect.

Speaker 13 (34:39):
Young big will love.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
It, love it, Bob Garran, look for his card nineteen
eighty eight. Tops, it's not his picture, Will kleinb what's
it been like for you coming out of the Dodger
bullpen and being a piece that maybe we don't know
about right now, but obviously the Dodgers have the track
record of making guys like you a household name.

Speaker 13 (35:00):
I mean, it's it definitely makes you, you know, it
makes you feel, you know, wanted a little more special
when you know some other teams don't want you and
then they go out and get you, like all right,
what's the Dodgers? You know, they see they see something
and so you know, working with Connor and Pryor and
Bardo and all of them like have has really helped

(35:24):
different alleys each way, like just throwing more strikes at
and adding some varieties a little more and you know,
just like having those guys behind you, like believing you
and other guys around, like how they like carry themselves
and stuff is like definitely helps, especially with you know,
all the guys we have in the locker room and
so seeing that and then being a part of that
makes you feel like that yourself. And you know, running

(35:45):
out of that bullpen with this place packed cheering for
you is pretty sick. So that that definitely instills a
little like confidence, a little swagger too, And so it's
it's been different than you know, past experiences, and you.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Know, we're having fun. So love it.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Will clients stick around long enough so we could collect
a Will Climb Dodgers baseball card.

Speaker 13 (36:04):
That's the dream. I don't I need another one this year.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
I haven't.

Speaker 13 (36:07):
I think I had one heritage, but I haven't. I
didn't make top scro on, which is sad. But yeah,
the Will Cline Daughters card go sick. I try to
rainbow that one.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (36:18):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Will great talking to you, and we'll check back in
with you a little bit later in the season about
how the card collecting is going. Thanks a lot for
the time, Thanks for having me there. He is the
man Tim will kleinb Look for him at a local
hobby shop near you.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yeah, spot him here in Burbank at the hobby shop
trying to get some Pokemon and baseball cards. Love that
adding to his collection. Dodgers Baseball coming up as they
take on the Minnesota Twins on the Wednesday. Dodgers going
for the series win over Minnesesota. With Tyler Glass now
on the mount, we'll dive deep into that pitching matchup.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Well we come back.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
I'm Tim Kates is the world champion of Los Angeles
Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (36:58):
This Morongo Sino Dodgers hunting on your home for LA
Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
It's the Dodgers and Twins on this Wednesday afternoon. First
pitchings Aster Stdium coming up at one ten.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
And now before the Dodgers hit the dinack, we look
at the pitching.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Matchup for insent to by your Southern California Toyota dealers.
Work hard, in play hard in a New Tacoma with
an I Force turbo charts engine. It's a truck built
for the bold. See your Toyota dealers today, They make
it easy. Chris Paddock on the Mound three and nine
with the five to one four ERA twenty nine year
old right hander and his seventh season now in the
big leagues. Came up with the Padres, fourth season now
with the Twins, making his twenty first start this season

(37:39):
last time out of five innings, five runs, eight hits,
two home runs, five strikeouts and a loss to the
Rockies in the month of July. It's been rough. Three starts.
He's zero to two with a seven to eighty ERA.
Eight career starts against the Dodgers, he's one and fourth,
is six sixty three ERA, and has given up nine
home runs. Tyler Glass now on the Mountain for the Dodgers,
he is one and one with a three ten ERA.

(38:02):
The big right hander thirty one years old, now at
a Herd Height School and new all tenth season in
the Big League, second with the Dodgers. He was hurt
for two months and now he's back, making his eight
start this season last time out six innings, one run,
four hits, six strikeouts and a loss to the Brewers
last Friday at night. He pitched well, but just didn't

(38:23):
get any run.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Support behind him.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
He faced the Brewers twice now now this will be
somebody different finally, as he takes on the Twins. Since
this third start and fourth career game against Minnesota, he
is two to zero with a two eighty one ERA
against the Twins. Last year, on April ninth, he went
seven scoreless innings against the Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis.

(38:48):
So it's the Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins on this
Wednesday afternoon. Behind the plate for Tyler Glass. Now, you
are gonna see as who is ken in Dalton rushing
behind the play today for Tyler Glass Now as the
Dodgers look to get a win here in the final
game of this three game set against the Twins. Then
it's off to the East Coast for a nine game,

(39:11):
eleven day road trip Boston, Cincinnati, and Tampa Bay. But
first things first, take care of business against the Twins.
We're fifteen minutes away from first pitch. Keys to the
game with Steven and Rick are next. I'm Tim Kings's
the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (39:27):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on your home
for the Blue All Season Log.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
It's the Dodgers and the Twins on this Wednesday afternoon
Tyler Glass now gets to starting The Boys in Blue
play at a home at Dodgers Stadium. It's important they
have the right plan in place to protect their house.
The same applies to your house. Always have a plan
in follow fire safety tips before setting up a campfire.
Make sure to get a permit from CalFire. Check out
local restrictions. Know how to properly set up a campfire

(39:57):
and extinguish it using the drownster and field method. Always
have a water supply and shovel nearby to extinguish your camfire.
Properly maintain car break so there's no metal to metal
grinding contact that can cause a spark. For more about
these tips and to find out others, visit fire dot
CA dot GOB. All right, back out to the booth
one final time, Steven Nelson, Rick Monday guys, All.

Speaker 8 (40:16):
Right, TC back here with Rick Monday. Mule gonna get
it to you quick for your key or keys for
a Dodger win today.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
I think for Glass now throw strikes. That's one of
the things he's done. You know, you start to look
at Glass now now coming off the injured list, He's
allowed just a one seventy three batting average. Against here's
the other thing too, get ahead early. Why well, with
two strikes, hitters are just two for fifty three against him.
That's an thirty eight batting average against him. From an
offensive standpoint. They're facing Chris Paddock. Don't take him lightly,

(40:45):
but the Dodgers have a history of seeing him. Eight
starts against the Dodgers in his career, very high era.
And if you look at Paddock since the thirteenth of June,
seven starts, he's earned run average in that period of
time over eight and a half runs every nine innings.

Speaker 8 (41:01):
Tyler Glass, Now, he's got good memories against the Twins.
Last April, a career high fourteen punch outs against the
Minnesota Twins in seven scoreless The Dodgers would surely sign
up for a repeat performance of that here at Dodgers Stadium,
the series finale and the rubber game for the Dodgers
and Twins. First pitch in a matter of moments, All.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
Right, thank you, Nali.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
First pitches next, when this one's over, I'll be back
with all the postgame festivities as the Dodgers then will
headed east for a long nine game, eleven day road trip.
First stop in Bosom and again First things first, ain't
care of business right now.

Speaker 5 (41:36):
Tyler Glass.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
Now on the mount we come back.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
