Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Hope you're enjoying your Tuesday night as your world champion.
Los Angeles Dodgers back at it on the road the
Big A and Anahei for this freeway series against the
Anaheim Angels. Dodgers sit at sixty eight and fifty one
on this season, first place atop the NL West. But
don't look now, the Dodgers just one game up on
(01:09):
the Padres in the division. Tonight, the Dodgers let to
get back on track with Emmett Sheen on the mound.
First pitch trom Anaheim is coming up at six thirty eight.
Between then and now, we got a lot to get
to here. On Morongo Casino, Dodgers on deck, you're gonna
hear from the Dodger manager Dave Roberts coming up in
less than twenty minutes, we'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
It's an opener for the Angels.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
While Immit Shean looks to give the Dodgers some length tonight,
David Vas say, we'll join us throughout the hour. Our
Dodger Insider DV goes one on one with Eric Carross
coming up in forty five minutes. We got your Dodgers
magical moment. Shortly we'll hear from Kirsten Watson live on
the field and Anaheim get the vibe on what's happening
with this Dodgers team. And in just a few minutes
we head out to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth with
(01:53):
Tim Neverett and Rick Monday. Well, last night just not
one of those good nights for the Dodgers all around.
On offense, defense, pitching, Yoshi Yamamoto on the mound, and
he got into trouble early.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Well.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
The first pitch from Yamamoto tonight has swung on and
hit high in the air to right center and deep.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
This ball headed back to the wall.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
It is gone.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
It's a leadoff home run for Zach Nettle, who has
just set an Angels team record with his eighth leadoff
home run of the season, passing Brian Downing in nineteen
eighty seven. And on the first pitch of the game,
Yamamoto surrenders the home run and the Angels lead it
(02:36):
one nothing.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
One pitch.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Just like that, It was a one nothing lead for
the Angels, who would go on to score two in
the first and then at the bottom of the fifth,
things really fell off the wheel there for Yamamoto. Mike Trout,
a two run single, Mankata and RBI single Campero and
RBI ground out as the Angels scored four runs in
(02:58):
the bottom half of the fifth inning. The Angels were
up six to nothing on the Dodgers, who offensively just
could not figure out Jose Soriano. He would go six
shutout innings, gave up just two hits while striking out six.
Along the way, Zach Netto was at it again in
the top half of the sixth inning with a solo
(03:19):
home run. The Angels were up seven to nothing and
cruising until the eighth inning when the Dodgers down big
show Hey O'tani a solo home run to right center
field into the pavilion there in right field at the
big A. That was home run number forty two on
the season for Otani, RBI number seventy eight. Later in
(03:40):
the inning, Max Munsey got the Dodgers a little closer.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
And Anderson's pitch to Mounsie swung out and hammered deep
down the right field line.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
This bowl is done.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
Maxwell swinging a solar hammering at a him a three.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Run home run.
Speaker 6 (03:56):
It is seven to four for Max months the home
run number seventeen.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
They hooked it right down the line.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Gustavo Caampero, the right fielder who went after it, looks
like he's injured himself up against the wall. He is
sitting down against the three point fifty marker at Monthly
with a three run blast hits the Dodgers right back
in it.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Three run home run for Max Munsey, and all of
a sudden, the Dodgers with four runs in the eighth inning,
down seven to four. Unfortunately, that's as close as they
would get. Kenley Jansen came in and pitched the ninth,
struck out two of the three batters that he faced.
The former Dodger get his twenty second save of the season.
Soriano gets an eighth win of the year. Angels win
(04:43):
it seven to four. Yoshi Yamamoto falls to ten and
eight overall in the season, Dodgers fall to sixty eight
and fifty one, and now the Dodgers, with forty three
games remaining on this season, just one game up on
the San Diego Padres in the division. Tonight, the Dodgers
trek for a divisional title continues with imag shean on
(05:04):
the mound. Angels go with an opener first pitch at
six thirty eight, and with more. Let's head out to
the Galpumoters broadcast booth as we say hello to Tim
Neverett and Rick Monday.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Thanks Tim. It's a typical Orange County evening, just beautiful
here at Angels Stadium as the Dodgers and Angels play
Game two of this three game series in the Freeway Series.
The Angels winning last night seven to four. And it
wasn't really as close as that. It was only one
inning the Dodgers scored in when they got home runs
from Chohelo Toni and Max Muncie. But other than that,
(05:35):
tonight becomes a pretty important night, as they all are.
But tonight's the game you're playing, and that's the most
important one of the days.
Speaker 8 (05:42):
Certainly.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
Dodger is a game up on San Diego Padres in
San Francisco, playing the Giants tonight.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Will keep you updated on that throughout the.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
Course of the game. But the Angels ten games out
fourth place in the American League West of fifty seven
and sixty two, Dodgers sixty eight and fifty one, and
at Sheen will make the start, his eighth appearance of
the Sea and sixth start overall. Victor Madero's called up
from Triple A Salt Lake to make his first major
league start. He has had nine appearances in the big
leagues before, all in relief. Madeio's will get the start,
(06:12):
and we'll see what happens with the Angel bullpen after that,
but certainly the Dodgers need a win. That goes without saying, well,
last night, the effort was there in the eighth inning,
but they just couldn't get any hits for the first
seven innings, not many at all, only two.
Speaker 7 (06:26):
No, And we start to look at it. I mean,
we go back to the third of July, the Dodgers
had a nine game lead in the Western Division. Well
now it's down to one. And the Dodgers since that
nine game lead, they've gone twelve wins nineteen losses, and
San Diego trying to get even closer. And you know,
as I said, would be watching that game. But the
Dodgers needed to change some scenery. And by scenery, they
(06:49):
need to a get some runners on base, and m
B changed the scenery of getting some base hits with
runners on base. And on top of that, and no sense,
and there's no time to feel sorry for yourself, and
the Dodgers do not have a chance to afford themselves
of that opportunity. Everybody wants to beat him, the defending
world champions, and how things are getting very, very critical,
(07:10):
and the Dodgers can play better, but to this point
they have not played consistently better.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
Not to be the bar of bad news, but the Dodgers,
now facing another pitcher injury situation, right had to relieve
her brock Stewart placed on the IL today with shoulder inflammation,
and and Gardo Henriquez is back from Oklahoma City and
the Dodger bullpen.
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Oh perfect, that kind of goes. So here's the deal.
Ta Oscar her name is, will return to the starting lineup.
He's going to bat in the number four spot tonight
and hopefully thing's going to be turning around for him.
Dave Roberts said, Look, last night just gave him a breather.
Not in the ball game, but one thing about ta Oscar.
I want to see if they try and throw the
fastball inside. Found an interesting number on ti Oscar, even
(07:52):
though he struggled maybe the last couple of weeks. The
fastball inside for sixty three average. Is that good? Well,
it's the best average against fast balls inside on the
corner in the National League. It's been yes problematic on
the slider away. We'll find out what Tao does in
tonight's ball game.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
Sho hey Otani begins the night tied for the National
League lead second and Major League Baseball and home runs.
He's tied with Kyle Schwarber with forty two a ten
game hitting streak. Mookie Betts with a six game hitting streak,
and that certainly is welcome to see. He is back
at shortstop tonight. Had a brief cameo in right field line.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
And volunteered to go in the right field because he saw,
he said, hey, look running out of bench players and
late in the ballgame dots that already made some defensive
changes and took some people out when the game was
seven to nothing at that particular time. But I thought
last night was a very frustrating loss. They're all frustrating,
there's no question about that. But for Yamamoto, the first
pitch in the ball game a home run, and he
(08:47):
said he really had difficulty even getting the sequence in
place after that leadoff home run.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Well, tonight it's a new night, it's a new game,
and the Dodgers hope to come up with a win,
get back in the win column. To image in the start,
he's three and two. Victor Madeiro's oh and oh for
the Angels, Tim.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
All right, thank you guys, as we cut you down
to first pitch on this Tuesday night, Dodger vance, get
your game day meal long. It's Shaky's Pizza Parlor, or
of your Shanky's Pizza and Chicken and Mojo's right now
at Shaky's dot Com. We're off and running here on
Morago Casino. Dodgers on deck. Coming up, you're gonna hear
from the manager, Dave Roberts. You're gonna hear from Eric Carros.
We check in with David Vase, our Dodgers insider. Throughout
(09:29):
the hour, we dive deeper into this pitchy matchup with
Image shean going for the Dodgers and opener for the Angels.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
But up next you're o Tani.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
You rewind and we'll head live to the field with
Kirston Watson from Sports and at LA. That's all coming
up as we lead you up to Game two of
the Freeway Series Dodgers and Angels from the Big A
in Anaheim.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
I'm Tim Kats's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Well, this is Morongo Casino, Oh, Dodgers hunting game on
your home for LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
It's a Dodgers and the m'm Angels, I mean she
and on the mountain game to this three game Freeway series.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
First pitch coming up at six thirty eight.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
This is the Otani rewide.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Angels right hand are set to go. Darneault sets the
target the three two Otani swings hits the drive deep
to right. This one headed back toward the wall. God,
it's home run for Otani, home run number forty two
and the Dodgers get on the board at seven to one.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Show Hey, Otani goes deep last night home run number
forty two, a solo blast to right center in the
eighth inning, as the Dodgers would score four in the
eighth Unfortunately, not enough they had.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
A big hole to get out of. The Angels win
the series opener last night seven to four.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston lots Hey.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Kirston now joins us from the Big A and and
I brought to you my Cars for Kids. Ready to
donate that old car? Call eight seven seven Cars for
Kids right now, Brity agents standing by to take your donation.
That's Cars with the K to donate your car today
before we get into this matchup. Kirsten Big news. Brock
Stewart going to the IL.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (11:19):
Unfortunately for Brock. Dave Roberts was telling us today that
he's experiencing a little bit of shoulder inflammation, but they
feel like they caught it pretty early, so the last
four days that started bothering him and it comes out
a tricky time. We've obviously seen a lot of key
injuries to high leverage arms, so the bullpen, the good
news is that guys are getting healthier, whether it's Michael
Kopek who took part in my IBP yesterday, You've got Tanner,
(11:41):
Scott Creates. We're going to be pitching on the mound
kind of facing hitters pretty soon. So it definitely comes
at a tricky time. But Dave Roberts did say that
he feels good just about the fact that the timing
in which they caught brock Steward shoulder inflammation and the
hope for him to be able to be returning. So
hopefully it's not too long of an eyele stint. But
Dave did say that he's going to undergo some more
(12:03):
testing tomorrow just to get some more answers. But for
a guy who just came over with the trade deadline,
obviously there was a lot of need and hope for him.
So it's definitely a tough fun to the bullpen right now.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yeah, this is a big blow for a bullpen that
needs all the arms they can get at this point
with guys still on the horizon set to come and
help him out. But this Dodger's team right now, don't
look now in your rear room.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Year that's the Padres. One game back.
Speaker 9 (12:28):
Yeah, And you know, look when we talked about kind
of the team scuffling, especially back in July, there was
just more room for error. Right now, the margin of
error is much smaller, and so there is kind of,
it's honest, really a sense of urgency. It's just more
of even hearing it, whether it's from Andrew Friedman and
Brendan Gomes and even Dave Roberts, just the team hasn't
(12:49):
been playing their best baseball just yet, but it's guys
are getting so close. So even Dave was saying today, like,
right now you're seeing guys, whether it's a movie Bets
and Freddie Freeman kind of getting back on top offensively.
But right now it's just missing that consistency from one
to nine on the offensive side and on the pitching side.
You know, the hope is Premachan. You know, he's been
really good as a late for him just to kind
(13:11):
of continue and have a really quality start. This is
going to be an interesting one, but going up against
the Angels because they've got a young starter on the
mound and probably more of a bullpen game on their side.
But it's one in which you got to get things
going early if they can set the tone. Yes, they
need the win. They're not necessarily staring at the scoreboard,
but everyone is very aware as to just what the
(13:31):
standings look like, and it's gotten a little bit closer
than they would like to to be at Right now.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
They may not be staring at the scoreboard, but I
certainly start absolutely all the Dodger fans are staring at
that scoreboard. Kerrison, We appreciate it. We'll check in with
you after the game is still to come. Here on
Morago be Causino Dodgers on deck. We will check in
with David Vez say we got your magical moment, but
I'm next we'll get an injury report and we'll hear
from the manager himself, Dave Roberts.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
So the Dodgers and Angels.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
The Freeway Series for the Big A and Anaheim First
Bitch is six thirty eight of Tim Kates's Los Angeles
Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on your hope
for the blue all season long.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Brago Casino Dodgers on deck continues as he leads out
to first pitch. Dodgers and Angels came to it the
Freeway series, Wronggo Casino Resort and spy a grand slam
for good times.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
First pitch at six thirty eighty.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
It's the LA Dodgers Injury.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Report presented my u CLA healthy official medical partner of
the Los Angeles Dodgers. Brock Stewart on the il with
the right shoulder inflammation. Kirby Yates on the il, hopefully
coming back soon. Tanner Scott also a high leverage Dodger reliever,
hopefully coming back soon. Rookie Susaki going out on a
minor league rehab assignment. Michael Kopek recovering from that meniscus
(14:52):
surgery to his right knee.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
He too is on the man and hopefully.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Could be back here helping out this Dodger bullpen very soon.
Let's head back out to the Big A and Anaheim
at check it with the Dodger Skipper.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Any questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave?
Speaker 8 (15:08):
Can you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts.
Speaker 10 (15:13):
Yeah, I mean obviously the standing certainly, you know, is incentive.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
How we're playing, I think is more important.
Speaker 10 (15:25):
You know, there's some good things certainly, and but it's
just the consistency that you know.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
We're looking for. I love the way.
Speaker 10 (15:34):
That the guys prepare, Uh, there's no panic, but it
just goes to like I said yesterday, it's just getting
it done and finding ways to win a baseball games
with that.
Speaker 9 (15:46):
I mean, I know we've talked about just whether it's
a qulity that bats guys are getting back on track,
but what do you think is just really missing with
that lack of consistency.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I think it's.
Speaker 10 (15:59):
So I think with the off I think it's just
the consistency of it bat one through nine. I think
certain guys have turned the corner and are taken better bets.
But there's you know, times in a game where I feel,
you know, winning account, winning it at bat could make
(16:20):
the difference in a ball game, and we're just not finishing.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
So I think that's part of it on the offense.
Speaker 10 (16:27):
But again, the intense there, but it's just kind of
finishing off things the right way where you know today
is going to be essentially a bullpen.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Dat you got a young pitcher, I was probably not
going to go too.
Speaker 10 (16:38):
Deep and you're going to see you know, a handful
of arms tonight. And we've got to take it at
bats and manage a game and you know, score.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
More runs than those guys. But again it also comes
to the pitching.
Speaker 10 (16:51):
You know, em it's got to go out there and
throw the baseball well, and if he does that it
gives a chance to win, then things should work out.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
It's going to move that baseball forward.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
That's all those Domes team needs to do tonight and
get a win, get back on track here and keep
that lead in the division. We continue here on Morogo
Casino Dodgers on deck. We will check you with the
David say none better. We lead you up to first pitch.
Dodgers and Angels from the Big A and Anaheim. I'm
Tim Kates is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 11 (17:18):
Audio that way as we were saying, this is Marongo
Casino Dodgers on deck on the official home of La
Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
It's Dodgers and the Angels as the freeway series continues.
Sim and Shean on the mound for the blue first
pitch from the Big A and Anaheim set first six thirty.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Eight, joining Tim Kates on Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
This is Dodger inside there. David all right, DV.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
The injury bug bites again, getting the Dodgers' bullpen again,
this time Brock stud.
Speaker 12 (18:02):
Yeah, brock Stewart on the injured list with a shoulder issue.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Shoulder inflammation.
Speaker 12 (18:07):
That is not good considering he was the key reliever
the Dodgers acquired at the trade deadline. Brock came to
Anaheim and left to get scans on that right shoulders.
So at Gardo Enriquez is here and the revolving door
that Dodger bullpen continues. I wish I had more answers
(18:28):
for you, Tim on when brock Stewart my return, but
I'm not sure the Dodgers have those answers.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
David is brought to you by the twenty twenty five
for one to fifty from California's best selling truck Ran
What we know.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
It's time to see Ford in a new light.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Ford for America, from America, look at the lineup tonight.
David am I the only one a little surprised to
see Will Smith not in the lineup.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Uh, You're not.
Speaker 12 (18:50):
A lot of us are, considering the Dodger offense is
not as good without Will Smith, and the Dodger offense
has been struggling lately.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Not to mention in these are three night games in.
Speaker 12 (19:02):
Anaheim, and the Dodgers have a day off on Thursday
before they square off against the San Diego Padres. I
know the Dodgers have done a great job this year
tim of keeping Will Smith fresh ever since calling up
Dalton Rushing, but at some point there's gotta be a
little bit more urgency to have him in the lineup
(19:22):
in a series like this. But what that does tell
me is the Dodgers are not panicking, and they are
keeping the macro in mind of the whole season and
not over emphasizing one single game.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Now, you're right, in my mind, you're thinking about this
is the time of the year that you've rested him
so long to get him ready for this point of
the season and have him healthy and ready and fresh.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
At this point.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Speaking of fresh, David killy Janssen looks fresh. This is
a guy who looks like Killy Jansen from ten years ago.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
What's gotten into him in Anaheim.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Well, he's happy.
Speaker 12 (19:55):
When there's a happy Kenley, he's gonna pitch really well.
And he was telling me early today that he has
really enjoyed being part of this Angel's bullpen because he's
the veteran, he's the leader, teaching the next generation of
relievers and kind of being that guy for them to
lean on. So he's enjoyed that. But here's something to consider.
(20:16):
If the Angels continue to struggle, and I know they've
done well against the Dodgers, we have seen in the
past where Ardi Moreno has put players that are going
to be free agents on waivers in the month of September.
So even though the Angels did not sell at the
trade deadline like many people thought they would, there still
(20:38):
is a chance that they do sell in a different
way with the waiver wire in the month of September.
And I know Kennley Jansen is hoping that doesn't include
him because he likes being part of this organization and
is just nine saves away from tying Lee Smith for
the third most saves in baseball history.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Well, he may get to that sooner rather than later.
David Gray stuffill check back you with you in just
a couple of minutes. Coming up here on Morongo Casino
Dodgers on deck, You're gonna hear from Eric Carrolls. In
less than fifteen minutes, we'll dive deeper into this pitching
matchup Rick Monday will be back. Get some more insight
from mo. But up next you Dodgers Magical Moment. Don't
go anywhere lean you have to Dodgers and Angels on
this Tuesday night for the Big A and Anaheim. I'm

Speaker 5 (21:53):
It's time for the Hawfy Magical Moment. Ditch Magical Present
by Hawfey Hot.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
We go back to twenty twenty three July seventh, Dodgers
in Angels at Dodgers Stadium. Tony Gonsolin on the mound.
Griffin Canning well, he had a bad game as well,
as the Dodgers took on the Halos as Tyler Anderson
would get rocked as well. The Dodgers offense exploded that
day for eleven runs on eleven hits. They went deep
(22:23):
not once, not twice, not three times, not four times,
but five times.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Dodgers four to three.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Tyler Anderson on in relief of Griffin Canning, had a
line drive deep to left field and didn't get.
Speaker 13 (22:36):
Over the wall yet did It was a line drive
got into the first maybe the second row, and then
into the bullpen, and the Dodgers now leaded five to three,
and Bets is getting hotter and hotter, if it's all
at all possible.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Mookie Betts went deep twice. That one is solo home
run in the fifth any of the Dodgers got home
runs from Freddy Freeman, the guy, JD. Mart Tina's home run,
Mookie Betts went deep twice, and then Will Smith in
the eighth inning, the fifth home run of the day.
The Dodgers on that July afternoon beat the Angels eleven
to four. The Hoffey Magical Moment brought to you by
Hoffey hot Dogs Hoffey Soakow's local treasure for.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Nearly one hundred years, Hafey hot Dogs Local. It's s great.

All season long long Dodgers Sanny Angels, Game two of
this free Gay Freeway series from Anaheim and Sheen on
the Mountain to ninth Angels going with an opener.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Time now for the Brizon startup.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
We are a little over thirty minutes away from the
start of the game. Now at Verizon you can lock
in your low price for three years so you can
save big. Visit the Rise in store today and now.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Joined by David Basseying, here's La Dodgers Broadcast and World
Series Champion Dodger Rick Monday.
Speaker 12 (24:11):
Rick, it wasn't pretty again last night, but the Dodgers
need to get some better starting pitching, and she did
that in his last start.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Well, we can sugarcoat it, we can talk around it,
but the facts are with the facts. Armed Andres are
won seven of their last ten. They've won three in
a row. The Dodgers are five and five their last ten.
The Dodgers at one time had a nine game lead
over the Sandegapres. That was on the third of July.
Since that time, Dodgers are gone twelve and nineteen have
(24:39):
the Sandega Pudres. Obviously they have done much better than that.
Just one game separate these two teams. And the Dodgers
have not played good baseball and not on a consistent basis,
and that has to stop. No better time than tonight.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
I think that's the biggest thing. Consistency.
Speaker 12 (24:54):
The Dodgers have not been very consistent since the beginning
of July.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
Absolutely. What we scene is that, you know, it's been
either the starting pitching, the relief, the offense or the defense,
or running the bases or not hitting cutoff men. There
have been different aspects or you know, just not getting
the job done. And the reason we talk about it
and some people say, well, you're being negative. You're being negative. No,
(25:20):
we're being honest, because this is a much better team
than what they have done really over the last six weeks.
If we're taking a very honest appraisal of what's happened
on this ball club, and it's happened not in a hurry,
but you know, you start to look at the opportunities,
and the Dodgers have let opportunities really slide right through
(25:41):
their fingers.
Speaker 12 (25:41):
Everybody keeps asking me, Rick, when are the Dodgers going
to have a player's only meeting? When's that team meeting coming?
Do you feel like these days a team meeting happens
in the hitters room. Where does that happen?
Speaker 7 (25:52):
I'm not down there. And unless you're in the dugout,
I've said over and over, You've heard me say this
many many times. We're around the team each and every day.
You are around the guys each and every day down
downstairs in the locker room and around the locker room
and on the field. And unless you're in that dugout
before and after the game and during the game, and
(26:13):
unless you're in that locker room before the game and
after the game, you don't really know the heartbeat and
the true pulse of a team. We see him from Afar,
but we don't see him in those intimate moments where
they're they're looking at one another. I know the personnel
on this team, and they look one another in the
eye a lot about taking responsibility, and I think they're
(26:34):
all trying to take that responsibility. It's just not working
at this particular time. And meanwhile, you've got a ball club,
that being the Padres playing again in San Francisco against
the Giants and Thursdays and off day. I hope the
Dodgers are not looking ahead to Friday's, Saturday and Sunday,
but I'll tell you what the Padres probably are, because
they can't wait to get on the field and take
(26:56):
over first place. And by Friday, who is going to
be in first place in the Western Division. The Dodgers
have a big say so in Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
They do.
Speaker 12 (27:03):
They got the one game lead in the NL Weast
with two more to play here in Anaheim before that
big series at Dodger Stadium. And it's gonna be again
a pressure cooker of a series because they're playing each
other six times within ten days.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
Yeah, and here's another sidelight to it. I'm not trying
to stir the pod, but let's look at it realistically.
I brought this up to you about thirty minutes ago before,
well before we did this. If remember the last series
that the Dodgers played against the Padres, even the managers
were going after one another, who delivers the lineup cards?
And hope played on Friday night at Dodgers Stadium, Game
(27:40):
one of that series, Dodgers against the Padres. Because there
was no love lost between Mike Schult the manager of
the Padres, and Dave Roberts, the manager of the Dodgers.
Let's just put it clear and simple. I mean they
had words back and forth.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
And those feelings have not changed.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
No, I look forward to that series it's been Meanwhile,
I look forward to tonight because I think, you know,
this is only the middle game of this series, right.
I think this is a huge game for the Dodgers.
I really really do.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
As far as where they may finish the season.
Speaker 7 (28:14):
Or just the month set of the team, I think
from the mindset of this the ball club and the
stick to itiveness that we have seen. We've got some
guys that are are still injured. We can't spend a
whole lot of time about saying, well, this guy is
going to be back until they're here. Guess what, They're
not here.
Speaker 12 (28:32):
Hey, we're here, Rick, We're ready to go. Yeah, but
you have to leave the Iron Man Rick Monday. We'll
send it back to you in the studio.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Tim all right, thanks a lot, guys. That's the Dodgers plan.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Dodger fans, you need a game plan to start your
future to California Community College. Financial aids there and it's
available to help you with the tuition, the books, sometimes
even the rent. It's time to take that next big step.
Class is gonna filled quickly, So on Role today and
I can go to college dot com.
Speaker 2 (28:56):

Speaker 2 (29:10):

Blue Wall Times deep into the numbers in this pitching matchup.

Speaker 2 (29:42):

the official pizza partner of the Dodgers audio broadcast win
It's game night, It's group night at Shaky's dot Com
d and.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
Now what will likely be vast fielding insults from a Dodger.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Player, It's an engagement of endearment.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
This is high end, all right.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
We're at Angel Stadium.
Speaker 12 (30:02):
A guy that was part of the first regular season
inter league Freeways series is the all time LA Dodger
home run leader and that's the one and only. Eric
Carroll's closing out his regular season broadcasting schedule. Thanks a
lot for the time, and man, we have had Carros withdraws.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
I'll tell you that.
Speaker 8 (30:20):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 14 (30:21):
But it's good to be back, good to be around
the ball club and excited to see a win tonight.
Speaker 12 (30:27):
So as this is your final two games on TV,
do you just empty the tank as a broadcaster or
do you leave a little something just in case.
Speaker 14 (30:37):
I think I gotta leave a little something just in case.
We still got a lot of baseball. You never know,
you know, people could go on the IL and I
have to come out of a retirement and everything. But no,
it's been an exciting season. Looking for more to come,
especially in this next month and a half. Really in
this next week.
Speaker 12 (30:54):
One of your kids, Kyle, made his major league debut
this past week. The Rockies actually put out the video
when he called you and told you that he was
going to the big leagues. You show more emotion for
a Taioscar Hernandez home run in the fourth inning than
you did when he called you.
Speaker 14 (31:10):
Yeah, but I don't think I've ever cried for a
Tioscar Hernandez home run. Hide It was obviously he was
an emotional thing and exciting something that I'm glad that
I got to share that with him. My wife was
also around, Trish, so great family moment.
Speaker 12 (31:25):
We saw you Atrician the Sweet They showed that too.
I feel like you squeezed the life out of her
when he.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Got that hit.
Speaker 14 (31:32):
Hey, but I do have to give a special shout
out to our former Dodger we go way back, Derek Hall,
who was president of the Diamondbacks and made all that possible.
But yeah, great to share with my family and specifically
obviously my wife.
Speaker 12 (31:47):
Are you relieved the Dodger broadcasting schedule has laid out
the way it has because the Rockies are on the
schedule next week and you're not broadcasting.
Speaker 14 (31:56):
Ironically, typically the last few years, I the Rockies you
because well, I'll tell you it's you know, I did
the Rockies earlier this year. I have some friends up there.
It's a great golf outing as well, and uh, but
this year I did not do both of my games
earlier in the year, So I'm gonna miss that trip
and I will be up there, but obviously I will
(32:17):
be enjoying it as a father.
Speaker 12 (32:19):
Well, Mike Levy, the Dodgers television producer, may mic you
up at some point.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
You may be put into duty.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
Gonna have to find me first.
Speaker 12 (32:29):
Eric Carrolls is our guest in front of first pitch
between the Dodgers and Angels, and it kind of feels
at this time last year, you and I had our
heated debate about where the Dodgers were and whether or
not they had what it takes. How do you feel
this time?
Speaker 8 (32:44):
I should ask you the same thing.
Speaker 14 (32:46):
You know, It's funny that you say that, because last
night when I got home, I looked at you. It
was August eighth, that the on August eight, the Dodgers
were two and a half games ahead. They had just
lost two of three from the Phillies. And I remember
at that time, you know, you were voting, not voting.
You were you had your horse, uh tied to one team,
and I had mine to the Dodgers, right uh, And
(33:06):
I still feel that way.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
I obviously this is.
Speaker 14 (33:09):
Not you know, the Dodgers are not playing as efficiently
as we as fans would like.
Speaker 8 (33:15):
Uh.
Speaker 14 (33:15):
But I do believe that, you know, even regardless of
what happens this weekend or the following weekend, there is
still a ton of baseball left and nothing is going
to be decided one way or the other. You know,
even if if we knock off the Padres or the
Padres have some success against.
Speaker 8 (33:29):
Us, uh, still a long way to go. And look
at it.
Speaker 14 (33:32):
I do believe that, you know, the Dodgers are the
best team and you know will win the division.
Speaker 12 (33:38):
Why do you believe they haven't been able to get traction?
They are four games under five hundred since the beginning
of July.
Speaker 14 (33:44):
So I do think that we are in a lot
of different I don't want to say situation, but as
far as guys where they are and coming back. You know,
Glass now is starting to really you know, click in
and everything. Max has been gone, he's starting to come back.
You know, your guy snell Zilla, he is just starting
to click. So I don't think we've had everybody going
(34:05):
all at once, and so you know, that hasn't allowed
for us to really get going.
Speaker 8 (34:10):
Tao has really struggled, you know, and.
Speaker 14 (34:13):
Then we've had some other issues where I think, though
the best is still yet to come, I can't believe
that we're gonna go a whole season, you know, where
we don't have all the guys healthy at some point,
or where we don't get clicking on all cylinders. And
so I still, even all that being said, you know,
we're still in first place.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Thanks a lot for the time.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Eric.
Speaker 12 (34:33):
Hey, we had to squeeze every last bit out of
you before you call it a regular season.
Speaker 8 (34:38):
I'm gonna be a fan the rest of the way.
Speaker 12 (34:40):

Speaker 2 (35:06):

As the leads up to first pitch and Anaheim Dodgers
and Angels up next, we'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup.

Victim Maderos on the Mound, twenty four year old right
hander originally from Cuba and came to the US as
a young kid. Was drafted by the Angels in the
sixth round the twenty twenty two draft out of Oklahoma State.
Also played at Miami before that. Sinker slider sweeper made
his Major League debut in twenty twenty three, but really
he's been up and down the last couple of seasons,
all relief appearances. This year his tenth appearance in the
(36:13):
Big League's his first career start. Three career outings at
the Big A haven't been good at four ERA with
five strikeouts and triple A. This year, he's been used
as a starter and pretty good. He's got a one
to seventy three ERA with twenty four strikeouts in his
last five starts in Salt Lake City. He has allowed
one or fewer runs in four of those five starts.
He threw fifty three pitches just three days ago, so
(36:35):
we'll see how long he is out there. This is
his first time facing the Dodgers. Emmitt Shean on the
mound for the Blue three and two with a three ERA.
Twenty five year old right hander made his major league
debut in twenty three, missed all of last year with
Tommy John surgery.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Didn't return in fact until the big leagues until June
of this season.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
He's been using different roles, actually piggyback to show hey
O Tani once this year, making his sixth start his
eighth appearance.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
He secured his third win in his last.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Start on August fifth against the Sand Louis Cardinals, win
five innings while giving up two runs on.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Four hits, will striking out five.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
It is emmittt Shean and Victor Madero's Dodgers Angels Game
two of the Freeway Series. We're fifteen minutes away. First
pitch keys to the game. Our next I'm Tim Kasey's
World champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Audio knows.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on tap.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
On your home for the Blue All season long, It's
Dodgers and the Angels.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
The Freeways Series from the Big A and Anaheim.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Emmitt Shean gets to start tonight. Dodgers need to get
a win over the Halos this year, haven't done so yet.
First pitch coming up at six thirty eight. Before that,
we go back out to the booth one final time
before first pitch. Tim Never and Rick Monday guests Tam.
Speaker 6 (37:51):
Thanks again getting you ready for the start of this
one here in Anaheim, Game two of the Freeways Series.
Dodgers looking to even it up tonight.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Emmett Sheen and two.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
He's done a good job this year in terms of
being stingy with the home runs. He's only allowed two
home runs, both of them the left handers. He's not
allowed a home run to a right hander this year,
and considering what he did in his rookie season where
he allowed a home run every four hits, he has
really done a good job at keeping the ball in
the ball play.
Speaker 8 (38:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (38:19):
And if you look at the Angels lineup predominantly of
right handed batters except for the left under Shanuel and
then from Moncata the switch hitter. But for Shean, my
point being right handed batters have hit just two twelve
against him as you mentioned no home runs by the
right handers, and one thing that we've seen him at
Shean kind of develop He has really gotten aggressive on
(38:40):
the mound and his stuff plays very large if he's
in and around that strike zone.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
Victor Madeiros, who led the Pacific Coast League starters since
the third of July and era one seventy three in
triple A over his last five starts, gets his first
major league start tonight. The Cuban defector out of the
University of Miami and Oklahoma State Victor Maderos against MTT Shean.
That's the pitching matchup at Angels Stadium here in Game
(39:05):
two of the Freeway Series.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Tim all right, Dodgers need to get a win because
they got the San Diego Padres right behind them. Padres
in San Francisco tonight to take on the struggling San
Francisco Giants, who are absolutely awful right now. Padres Giants.
That game will get underway in about fifteen minutes. Keep
an eye on that one. David Vessie has got you
covered with all the postgame Dodger talk as well. Dodgers
(39:29):
need to get back on track get a win tonight
against the Angels. First pitch from Anaheim is next. This
has been Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deec on the World
champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network
