Speaker 7 (00:42):
Hi, everybody, and welcome to my Wrongo Casino.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 7 (00:48):
Hope you're well as your world champion Dodgers are back
home after a long road trip to Denver and then
over the weekend in San Diego. The Dodgers back home
at seventy four and fifty fifty seven on this season,
as the Dodgers sit tied atop the NL West with
the San Diego Padres, and tonight they welcome the Cincinnati
(01:09):
Reds to town as Emmett Sheon gets to start Hunter
Green out of Notre Dame in high school. We'll go
for Cincinnati. First pitch from Dodgers Stadium is coming up
at seven to ten. Between then and now, we got
a lot to get to here on Morongo Casino Dodgers
on deck, including hearing from the manager himself, Dave Roberts,
who was going to speak to the media here. Shortly,
we'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup David vat Sego's
(01:30):
one on one with Tanner Scott, who got in yesterday
and pitched for the Dodgers in relief in San Diego.
We got your Dodgers magical moment coming up. Shortly, we'll
visit with Sports and at Las Kirsten Watson, and in
just a few minutes we'll head out to the gallping
Voters broadcast both with Tim Neffett and a Rickmunday Well.
Yesterday in San Diego, the Dodgers needed a win and
(01:51):
got a win in the finale of their three game
set against the San Diego Padres. San Diego was on
the verge of taking a two game lead in the
n West. Instead, the Dodgers said, nope, We're leaving with
a win. Yoshinobu Yamamoto six innings, two runs, four hits,
six strikeouts. Along the way, he got some early run
support ta Oscar Hernandez' sack fly Dodgers r up two
(02:13):
or one to nothing. Elias Diaz a two run home
run the third, though, the only blemish on Yamamoto's afternoon,
as the Padres led two to one. The Dodgers offense
yesterday trying to figure out something.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
The first five innings.
Speaker 7 (02:26):
They just couldn't get anything besides the sack fly until
the sixth when Freddie Freeman broke through.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
And yet here we are five and a third inninges complete,
just one hit now Freeman smacks the ball right center field.
This ball's hit well back toward the wall. We are tied.
Ask and beg, and you shall receive Freddy Freeman with
a game tying blast, his seventeenth home run of the year,
(02:55):
and we got a new finale.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
It's tied at two.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Freddy may have been listening, and that might be the spark.
Sometimes it's one swing to the bat and hopefully this
is going to open up the doors for the Dodgers offense.
Speaker 7 (03:10):
Huge swing from Freddie Freeman, a home run, a solo
shot time the game had six.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
The Dodgers able to get to.
Speaker 7 (03:17):
Nick Pavetta finally, who pit six innings of two hit balls,
seven strikeouts, retired sixteen to seventeen. Before Freddie Freeman's home run,
they chased him to the bullpen they went. In the
seventh inning, the Dodgers put up one of those crooked
numbers on the scoreboard as they got to Jeremiah Astroner
Dalton Rushing. Similar situation he was in on Friday night,
this time the seventh inning, runners on first and second,
(03:39):
one out, and this time Dalton Rushing delivered him.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Rushing tapping the bat and his back left shoulder, the
left handed slugger in a huge spot. On a three
to two pitch, Rushing hits a high drive to right
fielding deep.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
It is good.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Dalton run seen clutches up for a go ahead three
run bomb. His third home run of the season. Is
absolutely the biggest five two LA in San Diego.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
That is the top tier play of the game, brought
to by RCO quality top tier games for les. Dalton
Rushing busting and open with a three run home run.
Freddie Freeman later in the inning with two ounts a
two run home run, his second of the game.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Dodgers up seven to two.
Speaker 7 (04:31):
Sho Heo Tani, Heckler and All in the ninth inning
went deep to right center field, forty fifth home run
of the season for show Heo Tani. Dodgers go on
and beat the Padres eight to two. Yesterday, Yoshinobu Yamamoto
gets to win his eleventh of the season. Dodgers get
the win in the series finale and now back tied
(04:52):
to top the NL West with the Padres with thirty
one games to go, and tonight they're back at it
against the Cincinnati Reds, who are also a playoff fight
for a wildcard spot in the National League. Just a
game and a half back of the Mets. Image sheen
on the mound first pitch at five to ten, and
we're at seven ten and with more let's head out
to the Galpin Motors broadcast both we see say hello
(05:12):
to Tim Nevertt and Rick Monday.
Speaker 6 (05:13):
Guys, Tim, Thanks warm evening here at Dodgers Stadium as
the Dodgers prepared to begin this home stand three with
the Reds and then three with the Diamondbacks, and tonight
it'll be a Los Angeles native on the mound for
Cincinnati right hander Hunter Green, who is five and three
and a two sixty three YEARN run average. Emmett Sheehan
going for the Dodgers, he's four and two ERA four seventeen.
(05:37):
Reds find themselves a game and a half out in
the wild Card. They're thirteen out for the division. The
division's all but gone for the Reds, but they still
have an opportunity as far as the wild Card is concerned,
as they chase the New York Mets for that final
spot in the National League.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, and for the Mets they've had some issues. And
for the Cincinnati Red sixty eight and sixty three, there
are two games below the five hundred mark on the road,
So yeah, there's a lot of stake right here. And
the other part too, is the Dodgers come in now
with the winning Yesterday's Bowl game time for first place
in the Western Division. But for the Dodgers, I think Tim,
you know, on this road trip, it was a disappointing trip.
(06:17):
Three and four was their record. They did not hit
particularly well, and then those three games down in San
Diego they had collectively over the three games just one
just one single at bat with a runner in scoring
position and hit just one fifty two on the road trip.
So this is a good night to turn things around.
The Dodgers beginning to get a little bit more healthy.
(06:37):
As we found out not too long ago, kyk Hernandez
is coming off the injured list, and for Buddy Kennedy,
he is going to be sent back. But one of
the three that are getting closer and closer, so kk
is here, Muncie returns well, Dave Roberts says possibly on
this next road trip, and for Tommy Edmund, he was
(06:57):
here taking early banning practice along with Max Munsey. So
they're getting a little bit closer. But in the meantime,
Dodgers have to hold their own. They can't just wait
around for the guys to get healthy and get back.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
And let's not forget about Michael Kolpak, who could return
to the Dodger bullpen as soon as tomorrow or Wednesday,
so he is going to be back this week, so
they'll get a strong arm back in the bullpen this week.
You had a big day yesterday for the Dodgers, again,
the best of a bad situation over the weekend, because
if they lose that game, yesterday. That's a two game swing.
(07:30):
They find themselves two games out because they won, they're
now even steven with the tiebreaker in hand.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Yeah, and I know there's been a lot said, Well,
who has the easier rest of the scheduling between now
and the end of the season. Is that the Dodgers
is the Padres doesn't really matter. You have to play
good baseball. And for the Dodgers losing four of the
seven und road trip, they had some games that they
did not particularly play good baseball. Hopefully it's going to
turn around. And for Emmitt Shean, you start to look
(07:58):
at this big right hander. You know, he has really
impressed some people the way he comes back. One thing
I do find a little strange. I looked up some
numbers in the third inning of games that he's pitched.
He's running the problems for whatever reason, over a four
hundred average in the third innings of games that he's
pitched in and an earned an average over ten. And
hopefully that's not going to be an issue tonight. Earlier on,
(08:20):
change up's been good for him. Fastball has been pretty good.
Red's a decent fastball hitting team. They had two fifty
seven against the fastball guy has been hitting the Reds.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Though.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
You look at what Freddy Freeman has done lately, he's
really picked things up. He's the National League leader in
batting average, but against the Reds in his career he's
hitting three seventy two with ten extra base hits, and
he has an eight game hitting streak against Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, and if you look at Freeman overall the last
twenty four games, he's hit three forty four, five doubles,
eight home runs knocked in twenty two Other than that's
been hohume situation for Freddy Freeman, who comes on hitting
over three hundred. As this game gun folds tonight.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Here's one two of three against the Reds in Cincinnati
in July, looking for a win here on the home
stand tonight, and the Dodgers seventy four and fifty seven,
red sixty eight and sixty three.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
All right, thank you guys, as we count you down
to first pitch on this Monday night. Dodger fans, get
your game day meal on at Shaky's Pizza Parlor.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
What are your Shaky's Pizza, Chicken.
Speaker 7 (09:22):
And Mojo's right now at Shankys dot com. Coming up
here on Wrongo Casino Dodgers on neck. You're gonna hear
from the manager Dave Roberts. We'll check in with David Veasse.
He'll go one on what Tanner Scott will dive deeper
into this pitching matchup tonight. Up next, Oh, you're o
Tani Rewind and we visit with Sports and Net LA
is Kirsten Watson. It that's all coming up as we
(09:45):
lead you up to Dodgers and Red's on.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
This Monday night. First pitch at seven ten.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
I'm Tim Kats's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
This Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting game on your home for
LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
It's Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds on this Monday night.
Is she and a Hunter Green The pitching matchup. First
pitch coming up at seventeen.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
This is the Otani Rewind.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Another one, two pitch coming old Tani.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
It's a rocket's a right field, way back there and
way gone. The Dodgers with their fourth home run of
this Sunday afternoon in the forty fifth of the season
for the reigning MVP, trying to put an exclamation point
(10:47):
on this series finale.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
It's now eight to.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Two and for Otani, the sixteenth home run this year
with two strikes that leads all Major League hitters.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
Show Hey, Otani with a home run to right center
field is forty fifth home run of the season.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
A heckler giving him a.
Speaker 7 (11:06):
Hard time yesterday afternoon. O'tani had the last laugh with
that home run to give the Dodgers an eight to
two lead. Dodgers get this series finale win yesterday to
get back to top of the NL West, even with
the Padres. Both teams seventy four and fifty seven. As
the Dodgers get the win yesterday in San Diego eight
(11:28):
to two.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson.
Speaker 7 (11:33):
Hey Carrison now joins us from Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Brought to you by Cars for Kids. Ready to donate
that old car?
Speaker 7 (11:38):
Call eight seven to seven Cars for Kids right now,
friendly agent standing by to take your donation. That's Cars
with the K to donate your car today, Carrison. This
team had dropped the first two games in San Diego.
They get the win yesterday to salvage this series and
get back to even atop the NL West with the
Padres kind of feels like this Dodger team returns home.
(11:59):
X Haley kind of feeling good about where they're at
after that series.
Speaker 8 (12:04):
Yeah, you know, I was actually talking to a few
of the guys as I was on the field earlier,
and everyone was saying, when you look at how they
were able to bounce back yesterday, put some runs on
the board, just really quality at bats. Things have started
to feel a little bit different, and they understand that
moving forward, every game is essentially like a playoff game
(12:24):
because not only are they fighting to win the division,
you've got a team coming in today like the Reds
who are fighting for a wildcard spot in the National League.
So there was an intensity that they felt yesterday, and
even Dave Roberts today was saying that he wants to
see that maintained focus and that it intensity going in
and really moving forward because what there's now only thirty
(12:44):
one games left in the regular season, and each game
is truly going to be a battle. So that's the
key for right now. They saw some really good at
bad yesterday. Even Freddy Freeman had talked about after the game,
he had talked about just there was a better plan
and he was seeing than that with how guys they're
approach at the plate, and so that's what they want
to keep moving forward. It's going to be a tall
(13:05):
task against Hunter Green today. Then they've got more of
a breaking ball arm tomorrow Lefty on the game three
of this series. So it's going to be some tough
pitching that they're going to see. So it's gonna see
it's gonna be interesting to see how they can just
navigate through the red pitching staff.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
A return for Key ge Heer and Nandez.
Speaker 7 (13:21):
We've been talking about it for about a week now
that he was down on the farm in a minor
league rehab assignment and they've activated him. He's back with
the Dodgers. He's back with the Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (13:30):
Yeah, he's sporting a new arm brace, kind of like
a Show Hey type set up. He was saying, hopefully
it can do and which it does for show Hey,
bring him some power here and there. But for a
key k you know, he is someone he's only back
at the most important time of the year and we
have seen how he truly thrives in October, and so
this is a key arm for these guys. Are a
key guy for this team, and for him, the elbow
(13:53):
was bothering him and he thought he could play through it. Ultimately,
it just got it was too bad and he actually
had to have four different shots, whether it was a PRP,
whether it was cortizone. He's at Ultimately the fourth shot
that he had that was the difference maker for him.
The pain finally subsided because there were moments where he
thought he was going to have to have a season
ending arm surgery. So the fact that he's back, he's
(14:14):
just grateful for that. When it comes to what the
plan is going to be for him, Dave Roberts has
said before while he was doing his rehab assignment that
we could potentially be seeing him in left field. He's
actually going to be starting in left field tomorrow. So
on his rehab he said he played in center, left
and also at third base. Of course he is a
utility guy. But it'll be interesting just how things are
(14:38):
going to start shifting, especially in the outfield, because that
has been especially in left field, that's been a big
kind of question mark, and so seeing how guys can
step up over these next few weeks will be it'd
be an interesting one. And he's very much in that conversation.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Glad to have Key k back.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
The Dodgers getting healthy over the weekend with Kirby Eights
and tan Or Scott starting to come together now for
this Dodgers team as they get ready for the push
for the playoffs. Hereston, we appreciate it. We'll check in
with you after the game. Still to come here on
Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll dive deeper to this
pitching matchup. David Vasse will join us throughout the hour.
David vasegoes one on one with Kirby Yates. But up
next we'll hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts. It's
(15:14):
the Dodgers and Reds on this Monday night, First pitch
at seven ten.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
I'm Tim Kass, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Oh
do you know where.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
This is? Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the blue all season law.
Speaker 7 (15:32):
Law Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues on this Monday
night as we lead Joseph First pitch, Dodgers and Reds
from the Ravine Marongo Casino Resorted Spa a Grand Slam
for a good times.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
First pitch at seven ten.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
It's the LA Dodgers Injury.
Speaker 7 (15:50):
Report presented by UCLA Healthy Official medical partner of the
Los Angeles Dodgers. Max Munsey on the IL with a
right oblique injury. Keiky Hernandez comes off the IL. As
we've been talking about, he is back. Not in the
lineup tonight. Bubby Kennedy gets designated for Assimon brock Stewart
working his way back hopefully. Rookie Sasaki Michael Kopek also
next to come back some point at the end of
(16:10):
the month or in September. So the Dodgers trending into
the right direction as far as the injuries are concerned.
Let's head back out to Dodger stateiument checking with the
Dodgers skipper.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Any questions for Dave, Dave, can you just describe Dave?
Speaker 9 (16:24):
Can you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts.
Speaker 10 (16:31):
It's important and just to make sure that we keep
that same intensity focus, you know, for the last thirty
one games to the season. Yeah, Hunter's got a good arm,
really good arm, and you know you're gonna see contrasting
arms this series. You know, you got power and then
you've got Martinez, who's kind of, you know, breaking ball cutter,
(16:55):
kind of a finesse or type pitcher. And then you
got Lodola who's left handed, and Ha's got a big
arm too, So it's going to be interesting how we
navigate these guys. But these guys are, you know, fighting
for their lives, fighting for a playoff spot, So we're
gonna get their best and just expect us to continue
to you know, exert that same you know focus one
(17:15):
through nine.
Speaker 8 (17:17):
Activated, you can talk to some about someone might be
a plan for leftfield.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
What do you see this Richard for him in the web.
Speaker 10 (17:24):
Yeah, he'll be in there the next two nights. I'm
not sure exactly where he's going to start, but tonight
he'll be available off the bench, and then, uh, you know,
the next two nights he'll get two starts.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
All right, there's the manager, Dave Roberts talking about Kiki
here Nandiez and his return get the start and left
field tomorrow coming off the injured Listen, Well, we continue here,
I'm Wrongo Causeino Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
We'll check in with v David asa Is.
Speaker 7 (17:50):
We are walking up to first pitch on this Monday night,
Dodgers and Red's Dodgers back home. It starts the holmestand
first pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Gase is the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers audio.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Where As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers
on Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (18:19):
It's the Dodgers and the Reds on this Monday night.
Spookie Vet's World Series Ring Nights out of the Ravine
I Machine and Hunter Green the pitching matchup.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
First pitch coming up seven.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Tens joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
This is Dodger insider David Basse.
Speaker 9 (18:39):
Right, DV.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Hopefully you're a man with answers. Which Dodgers offense we're
gonna see tonight.
Speaker 11 (18:45):
That's the biggest question. And no, I don't have that answer.
But remember Dave Roberts on Saturday said he wanted to
see guys stop searching for their swings and start competing
with what swing they have that night and yesterday he
was pleased with what he saw, and talking to a
couple of veteran hitters today, they agree. Miguel Rojas said
(19:09):
it on record. Will Smith set it on record. There
is a lot of guys that agree. Certain players and
some inexperienced players have gotta realize that you got to
go up there and compete, do what it takes to win,
and the rest will take care of itself. I want
to see, and so does Dave Roberts. Can this offense
(19:32):
keep that focus and attitude and approach for longer than
just one game?
Speaker 7 (19:37):
We'll see tonight, David is brought to you by the
twenty twenty five for one fifty from California's best selling
truck brand.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
It's time to see Ford in a new light.
Speaker 7 (19:44):
Ford for America, from America. Red's in town. That means
is the return of Gavin Luxe Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 8 (19:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (19:52):
In about a half hour after the national anthem is performed,
the Dodgers, I presume, are going to have some sort
of video tribute for Gavin lux because I was told
he's going to be presented.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
With his World Series ring.
Speaker 11 (20:07):
Even though the Dodgers saw the Reds in Cincinnati, they
wanted to wait until the Reds came to Dodger Stadium
to present Lux's Championship ring here in front of the
home crowd, and he was a fan favorite and certainly
a guy that was a really good role player for
the Dodgers last year. He's playing a lot of left
field for the Reds, where last year he found a
(20:27):
home at second base.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
David Weston lanis on Snell Zilla, who's out on paternity leave.
Speaker 11 (20:34):
That's right, Blake Snell now a proud papa of two kids.
Not sure if it's a male or female. I forgot
to ask him, but Dave Roberts reassured us that Snell
will pitch on Friday, and I'll.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Let you in on something.
Speaker 11 (20:48):
Tim Snell told me before the last road trip that
the baby was going to be due today, and I said,
what does that mean for you pitching?
Speaker 4 (20:56):
He said, I'll be there. He'll be ready.
Speaker 11 (20:58):
He's not laying the birth of his second baby. Get
him off the five six day routine, so he'll be
ready for Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Speaker 7 (21:06):
Hello h Otani, Hello, and the incident with the heckler
David yesterday, which seems to be getting a lot of attention.
You were in the dugout yesterday with Sports and at LA.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
What did you notice about this heckler?
Speaker 7 (21:19):
And it seemed like Otani was very happy to hit
that home run in the ninth.
Speaker 11 (21:23):
Innamis yes, and it wasn't just Otani that fan who
you know, Peco Park has a unique seating for the
VIPs that's as close as any fan would ever have
a seat to the Dodger dugout visiting dugout, and he
was wearing out the Dodgers NonStop, and while O'tani was
on deck, he would be screaming to walk, rushing on
(21:45):
purpose because O'tani hadn't done anything all series long. So
it was that type of trash talk, chirping nothing over
the line that was irritating the Dodgers because it was
NonStop and especially directed towards Otani. So that's the reason
why Otani had some fun with the fan and finally
had the last word for himself and for the rest
(22:07):
of the team, no.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
Doubt about it.
Speaker 7 (22:09):
Always good to get the last laugh there, and the
Dodgers did all right, DV we appreciate it. Coming up here,
I'm Wrongo because you know, Dodgers on deck, we will
hear from Tanner Scott. We'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup.
But up next you're Dodgers magical moment don't go anywhere,
leading you up to Dodgers and Reds on this Monday night.
First pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kats's the world
champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Networks.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
Dodgers and this since Saint Annie Red's on this Monday
night image she and Hunter Green the pitching matchup. We'll
dive deeper in to the numbers coming up for both
pitchers and just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
First pitch at seven ten, a dog.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Who went hot.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
It's time for the halfe Manment Ditch Magical presented by
Hawfey Hot Dogs. Oh.
Speaker 7 (23:05):
With the Dodgers taking on the Reds, we go back
to August twenty second, twenty sixteen, the Dodgers in Cincinnati
Great American Ballpark. Adrian Gonzalez was on a heater that night.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
And Gonzalez drives one to right field. Did he get it?
This one is up? It is back and Adrian Gonzalez
has a three home run game. There was no.
Speaker 5 (23:27):
Doubt about it.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
So after back to back walks to Ugly and Seeger
Adring Gonzalez wasn't happy with just two home runs as
he extended his fourteen game hitting streak to fifteen. He
hits his third home run of the ball game, and
Adring Gonzalez has had a week in one day.
Speaker 9 (23:45):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
Adrian Gonzalez three home runs against the Cincinnati Reds on
that August afternoon, Dodgers winning the game by the way,
eighteen to nine. This Hofey Magical moment brought to you
by Hoffey hot Dogs Hoffee Sokow's local treasure for nearly
one hundred years. Hot Dogs, local and so great. Well,
we continue here on Moroco Casino Dodgers on Deck. We
will check back in with Rick Monday and Charlie Steiner. Yes,
(24:09):
we'll hear from Charlie coming up next. As we leave
you up to first pitch Dodgers and Reds. I'm Tim

Speaker 5 (24:20):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue All Season log.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
It's the Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds on this Monday
night Image Sheen and Hunter Green.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
The pitching matchup.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
First pitch coming up at seven ten time Now for
the Verizon startup as we're a little bit more than
thirty five minutes away from the start of the game now.
And for Verizon you can lock in your low price
for three years, so you can save big. Visit the
Verizon store today. Let's hand it off to Charlie Steiner.
Speaker 12 (24:56):
All right, Tim, The Dodgers back home after a disappointing
road trip, splitting four in Colorado and finally winning one
of the final three against San Diego yesterday. You know,
over the weekend the Dodgers as a team against the
Padres at just one fifty two. Now here are the Reds.
They are dying for a wildcard spot, Gaven a half
(25:16):
behind the Mets for the final shot in the National League,
and then the Dodgers trying it all costs to avoid
a wildcard spot. Well, the Dodgers begin three with the Reds.
The Padres are up in Seattle for three coming up.
Well tonight, you've got the Dodgers. They're home. They need
to turn things around after hitting very poorly over the weekend,
(25:38):
actually through the week in first in Colorado. Then is
San Diego.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
You know, if you look at this balclod Charlie, it's
really amazing. You know, they salvage he just said, the
one game in San Diego and in the little banning
average against. You know, they only had one hit with
a runner and scoring position in those three games down
in San Diego. That being said, they have to put
that aside. The Dodgers have a very good at home.
They're forty one and twenty four while on the road,
(26:04):
and even though they won in yesterday's ball game, they're
only one game above the five hundred marks. So this
is a club that you're seeing signs of the offense
trying to break out of it. As it did yesterday.
The Dodgers hit four home runs, two of them by
Freddie Freeman, and for this Dodger ball club, Dalton Rushing
also a big three run home run on top of it.
But while the long ball is really a luxury to have,
(26:26):
the Dodgers need more consistent contact, in particular when they
do get runners on base.
Speaker 12 (26:32):
Right now, the Reds are going to send out Hunter
green tonight. Of course, he's from here, went to Notre
Dame High School.
Speaker 9 (26:38):
Emma.
Speaker 12 (26:38):
She is going to be starting for the Dodgers. So
you got a couple of hard throwing right handers going
against one another.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
I think if we're looking at she and the one
inning that we're really looking at is undeniably has been
a problem for him. It's the third inning, and why
don't I bring that up? Well, in the third inning
this year for whatever reasons for She, it's a four
to fourteen banning average against and in that inning that
he earned run average as well over ten. Hopefully that's
(27:06):
going to turn around She And in my observations, Charlie,
you know, you start to look at what he's done
with the fastball. Yes, he's got pretty good giddy up
on it. Also with that slider that's been a big pitch.
Also he's held left to issue this the two to
eighteen banning average. And on the flip side of the coin,
the Dodgers, well, you don't have to be looking for
changeups against Hunter Green. He's gonna have a big, a
(27:28):
big following with family's ears. You mentioned he's a local
product that if we look at Hunter Green, two earned
runs or less in ten of his last thirteen starts
that he's made this year.
Speaker 12 (27:39):
So Kicky her name is back with the Dodgers, but
he Kennedy has been sent out and a final note
about sho hal Tana yesterday. Hey what he did and
be how he countered the San Diego fan he was
in and up to self just that moment, it was
quite new his horse.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
I thought it was a terrific moment. And having gone
through an issue years and years ago in Philadelphia with
a fan that had been bothering me for eight years,
I never did have a chance to give him a
high five, but then finally turned around and saw the guy.
I thought it was a wonderful moment that was captured
right there, and it was very enjoyed, not only by
(28:17):
the fan, and by the way, I think shoey Otani
now has a bigger fan in San Diego. After he
went over and shook the hand of the guy that
had been giving him a lot of grief during the
entire game. It was a kind of a neat moment.
And to see the reaction of the rest of the
guys of the Dodger bench, including the manager Dave Roberts,
those are moments that are captured say, yeah, it's competition,
but you know what, we're all human beings that would
(28:39):
like to have a smile on our face of times.
Speaker 12 (28:41):
You know, Otani has scored one hundred and twenty two
runs so far this season, the most in the National
League since one hundred and fifty by Jet backwell back
in two thousand one. Other note about Otani, I mean
the numbers are astonishing. His on base percentage this month
is seventy four. That is the highest on base percentage
(29:03):
for him since June of twenty twenty three, when it
was four ninety two. So for Otani, the hits just
keep on coming.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
What they do. And in spite of the fact is
one for eleven that was the home run down in
San Diego. So one for eleven in that series. You know,
in the month of August, in the twenty one games,
he scored twenty two runs. And the only way you
score a lot of runs you have to be on
base a lot, and that he is.
Speaker 12 (29:26):
So it's the Dodgers and the Reds again, both teams
in a wild card race that reads desperately want to
get into one, and the Dodgers try to avoid it
and win the West outright coming up, Tim.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
All right, thank you, Charlie.
Speaker 7 (29:40):
That's the Dodgers game plan, brought to you by your
California community colleges.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Fall semesters starting up.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
Financial aids available to help you if you need it
for tuition, books, sometimes even the rent. It's time to
take that next big step. Classes can fill quickly, so
enroll today and I can go to college dot com.
Still to come here on Dodgers on Deck. Before first betch,
we'll get you a preview of this pitching matchup. Rick
and Tim will have the keys to the game. But
up next we go high and tight with Tanner Scott
(30:06):
lead you up to Dodgers and the Reds. First pitch
at seven ten. I'm Tim Kates.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
It's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Audio nowherk.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
As we were saying, yes, is Marongo Casino. Dodgers on
Jack on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 7 (30:28):
It's the Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds on this Monday
night image Sheen and Hunter Green. The bitching matchup right
here from Kirby Yates in just a second. Tanner Scott
and DV went one on one yesterday, but DV making
the rounds with the bullpen relievers could be Kirby Yates
in just the second. First pitch, coming up at seven ten,
but looking for something for dinner. How about a little
Shaky's Pizza Pauler. Yeah, Dodgers Baseball is brought to you
(30:50):
by Shaky's, the official pizza partner the Dodgers audio broadcast.
When it's game night, it's group night at Shaky's dot com.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
And now what will likely aves a fielding insults from
a Dodger player.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
It's an engagement of endearment.
Speaker 5 (31:04):
This is high and tight.
Speaker 11 (31:07):
Well, I had to grab this guy in Los Angeles
because in San Diego the popularity is off the charts.
Security follows him everywhere because people can't cut the cord
down there at Petco Park. But the Dodgers are very
happy to have Kirby Yates back. Kirby, thank you so
much for making time for the little people.
Speaker 9 (31:26):
I won't call you little, but uh anytime.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
How did it feel to be back out there yesterday?
Speaker 9 (31:33):
That's good.
Speaker 13 (31:33):
You know, it's kind of good to get in that environment.
You know, there's nothing that can replicate a big league environment,
and yeah, it's good. You know, glad we won, and
glad it was kind of you know a game where
it was you know, I had some room for air,
and you know, even if I got into trouble that
you know, it didn't you know, the game wasn't exactly
on the line.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
I think that was kind of nice part about it.
Speaker 11 (31:56):
That's like managers speak, and I'm not sure if we
could always buy what they say, but in those type
of situations they do say. It's a good opportunity, even
for a veteran like yourself.
Speaker 9 (32:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (32:06):
I mean, you know, you haven't been out there for
a while. You don't know really what to expect. You
have an idea of what your stuff's doing, but until
you get into a game, until you can kind of
go out there and throw it against big league hitters,
I think, you know, you have confidence in your mind
of what your think it looks like and everything, and
then when you go out there, it kind of paints
(32:27):
a picture of what it actually looks like.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
I guess, So what did the picture tell you?
Speaker 9 (32:31):
I thought I did pretty good. I like the command
of the fastball, you know, I thought the split.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Was a lot better.
Speaker 9 (32:38):
I don't, you know, I don't think it.
Speaker 13 (32:40):
Is quite back to what I expect it to be usually.
Speaker 9 (32:45):
But I would say that I threw.
Speaker 13 (32:48):
You know, some decent ones that got ground balls, and
I think that's kind of the main thing. It's like,
what what does your bad ones look like, you know,
or what do the not banger ones look like? So
I think in that aspect of it, I think we're
in a really really good spot.
Speaker 11 (33:02):
We know that you were pitching not at one hundred
percent before you went on the iel. How much did
all that play into your money pitcher splitter not being
the Kirbyates splitter.
Speaker 13 (33:13):
Yeah, I mean it might have done something to it.
You know, I've always kind of said that to kind
of make it biting, to get into it, you got
to get into your hips, you got to get into
your back leg kind of get.
Speaker 9 (33:24):
Those hips to fire.
Speaker 13 (33:25):
And you know, one thing that they kind of told
me what they saw is that the hips weren't firing
as well, So maybe.
Speaker 9 (33:31):
That was part of it. But you know, whatever it is.
Speaker 13 (33:34):
It's in the past. We got to stick to what
we got right now.
Speaker 9 (33:38):
And I feel good.
Speaker 13 (33:39):
This is probably as good as I felt in a
few months. So I you know, I like where I'm at.
I think there's stuff to build off of and and
I think, you know, I think we're going to be
able to contribute pretty heavily here coming down the stretch.
Speaker 11 (33:52):
Kirby Eight's is our guest. Kirby, it's got to be exciting.
I know you did not want to go on the
al but like you said, you're healthy now and there's
thirty one games to go in the regular season. You
and the Padres are tied for first place. It feels
like this is what you play for.
Speaker 9 (34:07):
Yeah, you want to chance to play in October.
Speaker 13 (34:10):
I think you know, when you sign here you have
probably a really good chance to play. But you know,
everything looks good on paper, and you always have to
go out there and play the games, and we have
to go and win, you know. I think everybody knows
that we're more incapable of doing it. We just got
to go out there and do it. So it's fun,
you know. I think anytime when September comes rolls around,
(34:30):
you're talking about playoff baseball, I think likes what especially
a guy my age, that's what we sign up for.
Speaker 11 (34:35):
Do you feel like the bullpen, the Dodger bullpen maybe
is pitching with a chip on their shoulder. There's been
so much talked about about the Padres bullpen, how great
they are, and there's not been a lot said about
you guys in a positive way.
Speaker 9 (34:50):
Yeah, I don't think we really care to be a completely.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Just gave you bulletin board material.
Speaker 13 (34:54):
You know, I don't think we really care about what
people say about us, right, you know, And to be truthful,
the only thing we really care about are these next
two months.
Speaker 9 (35:04):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 13 (35:05):
You could have, Bessie, are in the regular season, going
the postseason suck and your season ends, so you can
have the worst r or whatever you want to call
it stats go on the postseason dominating you win. So
I mean we have a chance to you know, we're
getting all our guys back, We're going to keep getting some.
We got another kind of arm come in here pretty
soon and kope, and so you know, we know what
we have down there.
Speaker 9 (35:26):
We all know what we're capable of.
Speaker 13 (35:28):
We haven't really had our collective group that you know,
it's been mixed pieces here and there and all the
you know, other guys have stepped up and done a
tremendous job. So when we're all back and we were
fully loaded, we really like what we got down there.
And I think we're as confident as any group down there.
But you know that's between us and we just go
out there and enjoy our job, and anybody can say
(35:49):
what they want to say about us. It doesn't really
matter until the season's over, and whoever wins wins.
Speaker 11 (35:55):
Kirby Eight's before I let you go? Can you believe
your bullpen made over here?
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Tanners?
Speaker 11 (36:00):
God on television made people believe that I am wearing
a two pay.
Speaker 9 (36:05):
Wait you're not.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
What is it super glue or like Elmer's glue.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
I'll dare both of you, this is nice, Lettuce. Give
it a tug. Kerby, go ahead, I don't care.
Speaker 9 (36:14):
I'm scared, dude. I don't want to get on my fingers.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
My gosh, let's just hope it's not a windy day
for David. Oh my gosh, good things you ever seen?
Speaker 9 (36:22):
Tommy boy?
Speaker 11 (36:24):
Hey, I could identify with fat guy in a little coat.
But this is all natural right here, baby, Thanks to
my friends of Bosley.
Speaker 9 (36:32):
It looks real.
Speaker 11 (36:35):
There they go, the dynamic duo spreading lies about this
great Lettuce Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
We'll send it back to you in the studio.
Speaker 11 (36:44):
Both of them, by the way, get a gift card
for all that Tavier's fine Mexican dining.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
We'll send it back to you in the studio.
Speaker 7 (36:50):
Tim, all right, I can attest that is Dave's real hair.
I've known Dave almost thirty years. That is his real hair,
well most of it, all right, Thank you, David. Lead
you at the first bit Dodgers and the Reds on
this Monday night. When we come back, we'll dive deeper
into this pitching matchup. It's Mookie Betts World Series Championshippering ninth.
Speaker 3 (37:10):

game series in San Diego yesterday. Dodgers going to play
ty to tomp the NL West with the Padres. First
pitch coming up from Dodgers Stadium at seventeen and.

the pitching.

Hunter Green on the mound for the Cincinnati Reds five
and three with the two sixty three ERA twenty six
year old right hander, former first round pick of the
Reds out of Notre Dame High School here in the
eight point eight fourth season down the big league. Sad
Tommy John surgery this year, he spent two months on
the injured list with a groin injury. Here just returned
just two weeks ago, making his fourteen start this season
(38:23):
last time out pretty good. Pushed into the seventh inning
six and a third, three runs, six hits and twelve strikeouts.
He is holding the top three batters in the order
that he faces to sub two hundred batting average. Interesting
to see what he does against guys like Otani and
Freeman and Betts. Tonight, he is making his fifth career
start against the Dodgers one and three with the four
thirty seven r ray. He last faced the Dodgers May
(38:45):
twenty fifth of last year. He win six innings, allowed
one run on five hits, and got the victory, his
only so far against the Dodgers. Emmett Shehan on the
mound for the Blue four and two four seventeen. Rara,
twenty five year old right hittering on his third season
in the big leagues. He's finally healthy after missing all
last year with Tommy John surgery. Making his eight start,
tenth appearance this year. Fastball slider change up last time
(39:06):
out six innings, four runs, six hits, seven strikeouts in
a win over the Rockies. He's facing the Reds for
the second time this year and third time overall in
his career. He is zero to one against them. She
and Hunter Green Dodgers Reds or fifteen minutes away for
first bitch.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Keys to the game are next. I'm Tim Kats.
Speaker 7 (39:24):
It's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 5 (39:32):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
It's the Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds on this Monday
night image.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
She and Hunter Green at of Notre Dame High School.
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Here in the eight one to eighth the pitching match
up with the boys in Blue play at home. It's
important they have the right plan to protect their house.
You need one for your home to create a wildfire
action plan by selecting a predetermined meeting point outside your home,
and create a family communication plan. Know your escape routes
and practice them put together. Go back with all the
essentials for your family that they may need for up
(40:08):
to four days or longer. Carrying a fire extinguishing your
car is always a good thing. Hot exocts, pipe exhaust pipes,
and mufflers can start fire, so avoid parking your car
on dry grass. For more about these tips and to
find out others, visit fire dot CA dot gov. All right,
back out to the booth one final time before first pitch,
Tim Neverettrick Monday.
Speaker 6 (40:28):
Guys, Tim, thanks again and we count you down with
the first pitch on a beautiful clear evening here at
Dodger Stadium. A little on the warm side, but as
soon as the sun goes down things will cool off
a little bit. Emmitt Sheen on the mound for the Dodgers,
Hunter Green for Cincinnati, and really one of the keys
to look for is how the change up plays for
Imitt she and tonight the opposition hitting just one seventy
(40:51):
two against it.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Yeah, both of these guys have big guys six foot
five for both of them. And if you look at
she and he pinched against the Reds, and boy did
he ever back on the thirtieth to July. He went
three and two thirds of relief. He gave up just
one hit, unfortunately, that was a Spencer Steer two run
triple in the bottom of the eighth inning. It's after
he had walked to a couple of batters in that
(41:12):
inning as well. And for the Dodgers, as you mentioned before,
for one, Hunter Green, Yeah, pretty good gideop on that fastball.
He averages ninety nine point four. That's the highest in baseball,
and against that fastball it's less than a two hundred
batting average against local product. He's to have a lot
of family members here, and he can light up the
radar gun.
Speaker 6 (41:33):
Had a couple of stints on the IL this year,
but since coming off in two starts he has struck
out eighteen and not walked anybody. So Hunter Green against
mhsh and that's the pitching matchup as the Reds are
hosted by your Dodgers tonight. Tim.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
All right, thank you guys.
Speaker 7 (41:49):
As we speak, Cavin Logs on the field right now,
getting his World Series Championship ray from his Dodger teammates,
former Dodger teammates and coaching staff as.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
They are around them.
Speaker 7 (42:00):
There at a home played, very cool site for Gavin
Lux keeping an eye on the Padres and the Mariners.
Mariners up one nothing on the Padres. Cal Rawley is
fiftieth home runner this season. That's been Rocko Casino. Dodgers
on deck first pitches. Next, I'm Tim Kaison's world champion
