we'll go live to the field. Kirsten Watson standing by
from Sports and at LA. In a just a few minutes,

(01:45):
we head out to the Gallpin Motors broadcast booth with
Tim Neffert and Rick monday Well. Yesterday in Arizona, the
Dodgers had a magic number of one. They needed a
victory over the Diamondbacks to clinch the division for the
twelfth time in the last thirteen years, and they got
a great pitching performance from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Six shutout innings,
scattered four hits, struck out seven along the way. He

(02:08):
was fantastic, picking up his two hundred strikeout of this season.
The Dodgers offense meanwhile, went to work in this second
Freddie Freeman a solo home run. Andy pay Has followed
that up with a home run, his twenty seventh of
the season, Mookie Betts a two run single. The Dodgers,
with four runs in the second, took the lead, and
then in the fourth they added to it. Show Hey

(02:29):
Otani tying a career high with his fifty fourth home
run of this season, a two run shot, Dodgers up
six to nothing. Then Freddy Freeman, he went deep again.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Just those types of things. Freddie swings hits a drive
tape Wright center, heading.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Back to the wall.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
It is off the top of the wall and gone
into the pool. The second home run for Freddie Freeman
in the game, and the Dodgers leading eight to nothing,
A runaway in the desert.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
And the Dodgers won, a celebration and the lifeguard in
the pool needs help.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Well.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
The Dodgers were starting to boat race the Diamondbacks a
eight nothing lead through four innings, and more Zeros put
up the rest of the way. The fifth, the sixth,
the seventh, Tanner. Scott pitched the scoreless inning. We'll climb
pitch the scoreless eighth. The ninth inning belonged to Anthony Bonda.
The Dodgers can feel it. Three outs away, strikeout, strikeout,

(03:31):
two down, Dodgers one out away from winning the Western
Division and a.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Two to one pitch, swung it on the ground, ball
to third, Rojas Packcans throws to first.

Speaker 9 (03:41):
He got it.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Divisional dominance for the Dodgers. The twenty twenty five Dodgers
are the National League's Western Division champions for the twelfth
time in thirteen years. The Dodgers can raise a betner,
and they've now won the division title four straight seasons.

(04:06):
Time to raise a glass to the Dodgers as they've
clinched the division again.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Dodgers filling the burn afterwards with a celebration in the
clubouts rightfully so they clinched the division yet again. Four
straight NLLLS title, twelve straight divisional title in the last
thirteen years twenty thirty franchise history. Their ninth divisional title
under Dave Roberts ninety plus wins yet again every full

(04:31):
season since twenty thirteen, as the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks
eight to nothing. The Dodgers, now you're twenty twenty five
n L West champions. As they get ready for October baseball,
they'll finish the season in Seattle with three against the Mariners.
First up, Emmett Sheen on the mountain tonight, first pitches
six forty with more. Let's head up to the Galpin
Motors broadcast booth as we welcome in Tim Neffert and

(04:52):
Rick Monday.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Guys, Well, Tim, It's a beautiful evening here in Seattle, Washington,
in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. The roof is
open at T Mobile Park. A sellout crowd is expected.
In fact, the Mariners have sold out all three games
this weekend with the Dodgers. The American League West Division
champ Mariners taking on the National League Western Division champ Dodgers,

(05:14):
both with identical ninety and sixty nine records. The Mariners
in that second spot in the American League standing, so
they will have the buy before they'll go to postseason
play right to the division series. Dodgers, meantime, will be
hosting a wild card series beginning Tuesday night at Dodgers Stadium,

(05:34):
and as we get set to play Game number one
hundred and sixty. Emmett Sheehan will take the hill tonight
for the Dodgers. George Kirby, a right hander, will throw
for the Mariners, and mo is Just such a nice
sight yesterday in Arizona to see the Dodgers clinching the
division again. And you know it's it's old hat, but
it's never old. Really, twelve times in the last thirteen years,

(05:56):
four years in a row the division champions.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Yeap, you never get spoiled. And kudos to everyone in
the Dodgers organization. Everybody's had a hand in this. I
mean it's taken a very large village to put this
team together. Then for the players, yes, they're the ones
that pulled the wagon. And congratulations to Dave Roberts and
his staff as well. Roberts, by the way, in case
folks missed it, before they opened the champagne in the

(06:19):
visity locker room yesterday in Arizona, Dave presented a couple
of things to this ball club. He says, first of all,
this is the first step. The other part two is
we need to continue to play for each other on
the field. And the last thing was, and more importantly,
this has to be now the most important five weeks
of your life, as postseason is just days away for

(06:43):
the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
You look at the lineup tonight, Freddie Freeman, Max Montsi,
Mookie Betch, Tommy Edman, they're not in the lineup. They're
all on the bench tonight, the day after a clinch.
So Hessn Kim's going to play shortstopp Dalton Rushing will
be at first base. You got Andy paie Has hitting
second in the lineup after a Toani and Michael Conforto
batting third.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, that guy Otani. By the way, you match up
with the two of the home run hitters that are
in baseball, and then in this series Otani for the Dodgers,
he hit number fifty four yesterday, also with RBI's number
one hundred and one hundred one for Cal Rowley to
catch it. For the the Mariners. Yes, he's in the
lineup batting second. Sixty home runs, one hundred and twenty

(07:23):
five runs batted in. And talking of home runs, our
own Dwayne McDonald, our producer engineer, found an interesting number
on Otani sitting with fifty four home runs. In the
history of Major League Baseball, here has never been a
hitter that hit exactly fifty five home runs. So we'll
find out what happens three games hit number fifty five

(07:43):
or more.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
One thing to watch for with Cal Rawley this weekend
of the Mariners. He's too shy of Aaron Judges American
League record of sixty two home runs hit in the
regular season, so he's going to be in the lineup
until the last out on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Yeah, and for the Mariners, take them lightly. They come
in full of juice, There's no question about it. One's
seven in a row. They've also won eleven consecutive games
at home. That ties a franchise record that they set
back in two thousand and one. They're not afraid to
swing the bets.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
The Dodgers have won nineteen of the last twenty two
against the Mariners, including nine straight when you go back
to twenty twelve. But as you mentioned, eleven straight at
home for Seattle. So something's gonna give. And this one
is Immachian takes on George Kirby. It's the Dodgers and
the Mariners, game one of a three game weekend here
in Seattle.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Tim All right, thank you guys, as we count you
down to first pitch, Dodger fans, get your game day
meal on is Shaky's Pizza Parlor. Yeah, what are your
Shaky's Pizza Chick and the mojos right now at Shakys
dot com. We had it for lunch yesterday during the
day game in Arizona. Here in studio. Absolutely fantastic coming
up here. I'm Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deck. You're gonna

(08:54):
hear from Dodger manager Dave Roberts. We'll check you in
with davidvez Hey up next. So you're Tani Rewind and
we'll go live to the field and check in with
sports and at LA's Kirsten Watson. That's all coming up
as we lead you up to Dodgers and Mariners from
Seattle on this Friday night. Thanks you being with us.
I'm Tim kas Is, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

(09:14):
Oh do you know.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers hunting game on your home
for LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
It's the Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners on this Friday night.
I mean she and George Kirby the bitching matchup in
the series opener. First pitch from t Bow Mole Park
is coming up a six forty.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
This is the Otani three.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Why one one?

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Otani swings hits a drive tape to Wright Center. This
boat heading back to the pool.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
It is gone.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Splash down for Otani and Phoenix. Home run number fifty four.
He ties his own home run record. He ties the
Dodgers single season home run record. It's a two run
shot and the Dodgers lean at sex nothing. A four
hundred and six foot blast into the pool in right

(10:10):
center field.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Show Hey o Tani to run home run in the
fourth inning. Yes, today is only hit of the game.
Number fifty four on the season is tim never mentioned?
Tying his career high as a Dodger shut out the
Diamondbacks eight to nothing and won the NL West.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Hey Kirson now joins us from Seattle. Brought to you
by Cars for Kids. Ready to donate that old car?
Call eat seven seven Cars for Kids right now Fritley
agents standing by to take your donation. That's Cars with
the K to donate your car today, Kirsten. Here we
are the day after the Dodgers clenched the NL West
they're in Seattle a series that well, the Dodgers just
want to get out of your clean but the lineup

(10:51):
looks a little different Tonight's yes.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
So well, of course, with it being the day after
prinching the division, you know, oftentimes you see Dave Roberts
do this. So Freddie Freeman is down, Mooky Beds is down.
Max Monthly also, and that one we'll talk about in
a second. But first with Freddy and Mookie, this was
just a way to get them off their feet. Dave
Roberts was saying, when you they're looking to how they're

(11:15):
looking to approach the wild Card because they're so used
to having that bye week, you know, typically it's kind
of yes, you can maybe slow things down to close
out the regular season, give guys some masks, and then
you're refocusing and resetting during that bye week. This year,
they don't get that luxury. It's going to be one
day off. They're going to have practice on that off
day before they start the wild Card series. And so
with that one, Dave Roberts was saying that the biggest

(11:38):
focus is they have to keep their edge. They've got
to keep their edge to close this one out. So
as much as today as just a day to reset.
Things will look normal tomorrow and on Sunday because they
want to just keep the momentum building and just quickly.
I had mentioned Maxi monthly. Dave was saying that yesterday
was just an off day for him, but with it
now being back to back, Dave he didn't go into detail,

(12:00):
but he said there is something kind of bothering him
in his lower half. He's not too concerned about it,
but it is something that they want to give him
a few days just to reset to be ready for
the postseason.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Rookie Sasaki, we saw him in Phoenix. He was fantastic,
but we haven't seen him since. Are we going to
see him this weekend in Seattle?

Speaker 8 (12:18):
Yeah, the hope is actually we could be seeing him tonight.
So Dave really wants to see just how he can
bounce back. So it having now two days offenses outing
in Arizona's how he can get back out there and
bounce back, can show the consistency, show that command that
we saw in the last one. Obviously, the velocity was
in a really good spot. So they want to be

(12:38):
able to see if not only if he can maintain that,
but just how he can bounce back. So the hope
is that he could be out there tonight, if not tomorrow,
but they definitely want to get him out there at
least one more time before they decide what things can
look like for him specifically come October.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Well, hopefully they could Dodger just get him some more
reps this weekend and certainly be a big part of
a struggling Dodgers bullpen. Like you said in October, that
would be fantastic, Kirsten. We appreciate it. We'll check in
with you after the game. Still to come. Here on
Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck, we'll preview this pitching matchup.
David Veasse goes one on one with Tyler Glass. Now,
but up next we get you an injury report and
we hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts. That's all

(13:17):
coming up. Dodgers Mariners. First pitch from Seattle at six forty.
I'm Tim kas Is, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
All season long. Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues as
we lead you up to first pitch from Seattle Dodgers
and the Mariners Marongo Casino Resort and Spa a Grand
Slam for good times. Emmitt Shean on the mount first
pitch coming up at six forty.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
This it's the LA Dodgers Injury Report.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Presented by UCLA Healthy, official medical partner of the Los
Angeles Dodgers. Kirby Eights on the iel with the hamstring injury.
More coming up on mac Montly with David vaz Sai.
He's got even a more on what's happening with the
max in that lower leg that's bothering him. We'll find
out more in a few minutes. Will Smith on the
ie L with the hairline fracture in his right hand.
Brock Stewart having shoulder surgery. He is done for the

(14:14):
season and ted back up to Seattle and check in
with the Dodger skipper.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
Questions for Dave Dave? Can you just describe Dave?

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Can you talk about the pressure in.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
The dugouts with Dave Roberts?

Speaker 10 (14:28):
I think so. I think that you know, with the
bye week, you sort of have a little obviously a
little bit longer time to kind of reset regroup. I
think with playing again on Tuesday and starting the postseason.
You've got to keep that intensity throughout the regular season

(14:50):
to keep that momentum into the postseason. So yeah, there's
a few guys that are going to get a day
off here, but you know we're still after that day
for those guys, we're still trying to win baseball games,
and still trying to win tonight.

Speaker 11 (15:04):
We got to keep that edge, Dave, if you don't
have Will Smith for the beginning part of the postseason,
where are you at with the two catchers. Where does
it stand as far as rushing getting time versus wart Vett.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Well, we'll play into that.

Speaker 10 (15:20):
Like I said, you know, I think a week ago
I see Ben getting the line's share of the repetitions
behind the plate. But I've also shown that the willingness
to catch Dalton on occasion. I think he's made some
strides which has been good. And also there's obviously times
with hitting for Ben, I might do that, I might

(15:44):
hit for Dalton. So both those guys I think will
share time. But again, I think Ben's gonna catch most all.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Right, there's a manager Dave Roberts more on that coming
up with David Vassa. He's got all the latest again,
including more on Max months still to come here on
Morogo Becauseina Dodgers on Deck, we'll get you a deeper
pitching matchup premiere. We'll also hear from Tyler Glass. Now
that's coming up. Don't go anywhere. I'm Tim Kass, World
Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on
Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 1 (16:23):

we lead you up to Dodgers and Mariners on this
Friday night, Sheen on the mountain, first pitch, coming up

Speaker 5 (16:56):
Forty joining him cats on Dodgers on Deck.

Speaker 11 (17:02):
I accept everybody for who they are.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
This is Dodger insider David Basse.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
All right, DV Max Munsey this lower leg that's bothering him.
What's going on?

Speaker 11 (17:13):
Yeah, After Dave Roberts said that, the Dodgers came out
for some infield drills and Max Munsey was at his
familiar third base taking ground balls did not seem limited.
But after he was done with that, myself and a
couple of other Beat reporters stopped him to ask him
what exactly was Dave Roberts talking about.

Speaker 9 (17:33):
No, it's not so much with the ground balls. It's
more with the swing. Just a couple of things I'm
not able to do right now. And so we're, uh,
you know, we're just trying to like I said, these
these next three games, you obviously want to be in
there to make sure you're you're tuned up and ready
to go. But at this point, like I said, you
can't gain her lose any ground with these next three games.
And so for for us, Tuesday is what we're talking about,

(17:56):
and it's more important for Tuesday, and you know, yeah
what we'll seah the next couple days ago We're good.
It's just like I said, we're just trying to be
smart about some stuff. And I'm just trying to make
sure that guys are healthy.

Speaker 11 (18:08):
A mysterious lower half issue with Max Muncy that is
preventing him from swinging the bat. So we'll see whether
or not he's in there in one of these last
two games in Seattle. But the good news is Tim
he did not hesitate about his availability for Tuesday, game
one of the Wildcard Series.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
David, we heard your question to Dave Roberts about the
catching situation. It's interesting, that's kind of one of the
question marks here going into the wild Card Round next week,
Will Smith's health and if he can't go, who's gonna catch?

Speaker 11 (18:39):
Yeah, I actually saw Will Smith come back from the
bullpen after catching. I'm not sure who, but he was
in his full catcher's gear when he came down the
steps as we were talking to Dave Roberts. But the
reality is he still had the splint on his hands.
So he's still catching the bullpens, but he's not throwing
the baseball.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Back to that picture.

Speaker 11 (19:01):
Until he does that, then he obviously is not close
to returning. And then who is starting the first two
games of the Wildcard Series? Is it Ben rortfit or
is it Dalton Rushing? And Dave Roberts maintained again today
it's Rortvett, and I guess the biggest thing is is
Rortfit has a little bit more of an even pulse,

(19:22):
is what I'm gathering from pitchers. Rushing is a little
more emotional. He allows his at bats to carry over
to his catching. But look, Dalton, Rushing has a higher
ceiling and one swing of the bat, as we saw
in San Diego a few weeks ago, can change a game.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Real quick, Dave. The Dodgers given some guys some days
off here this weekend, one at a time. But what
about the Mariners. Are they playing their regulars this weekend?

Speaker 11 (19:48):
No, from what I understand, yeah, they're in the starting lineup,
but a lot of their regulars are not getting more
than one at bat in these games. And cal Rawley
is the only one that stays in there. So yeah,
they're in the starting lineup, their guys are in there,
but in the last couple of games, they're taking those
guys out, with the exception of cal Rawley after one

(20:10):
or two at bats.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Interesting, Gray stop Dabile check back with you just a
little bit days brought to you by Ford. It's time
to see Ford in a new light. Coming up here
on Dodgers on deck. We'll you hear from Tyler Glass.
Now we'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup. We'll also
hear from Charlie Steiner coming up in just a couple
of minutes. But us next your Dodgers Magical Moment Dodgers
and Mariners from Seattle. I'm Tim kats Is the world
champion Los Angeles Dodgers audio number.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
Who wants that It's time for the Hawfe Magical Moment.
Bitch Magical Magical presented by Hawpy Hot Dogs.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
We go back one year ago today, September twenty six,
twenty twenty four, the Dodgers at home taking on the
San Diego Padres. It was the night the Dodgers clinched
the division.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Nothing into the count on the number nine hit or
hagash Yoka.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
The pitch from copek Cope.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Beyond the infield, shallow right field Taylor calling for it,
and still Nation League West Covision champions. The Los Angeles
Dodgers do it again in twenty twenty four, for the
eleventh time in.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Twelve years they wear the crown.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
The Dodgers clenched the NL West last year at Dodgers
Stadium in front of home crowd fans for the first
time since twenty eighteen in the Game one sixty three
against the Colorado Rockies, as the Dodgers would go on
a course and win the World Series a year ago.
This Hofey Magical moment brought to you by Hofey hot
Dogs Hoffee Soakow's local treasure for nearly one hundred years.

(22:12):
Hofey hot Dogs, Local and so great. When we continue
here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll check in with Charlie
Steiner and Rick Monday for leading you up to first
pitch on this Friday. Don't go anywhere. I'm Tim Kas'
is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.

Speaker 10 (22:37):
Good.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Dodgers' final road trip of the regular season ends this
weekend in Seattle of first to three against the Mariners.
Image and George Kirby the pitching matchup from t Bowl Park.
It is time now for the Verizon startup, as we
are a little bit more than thirty five minutes away
from the start of the game. Now, Verizon, you can
lock in your low price for three years, so you

(22:58):
can save big. Visit the Verizon store today. Turn things
over to Charlie Steiner.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
All right, Tim, we're down to the final three games
of the regular season. The Dodgers and the Mariners could
conceivably meet in the World Series. Long time between now
and then. The Dodgers, of course, earn to sit and
figure out who they will be playing in the first round.
It'll either be the Mets, the Reds, or the Diamondbacks.

(23:26):
So coming into this three game series mode, what are
you going to be looking for other than everybody remaining health?

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Yeah, I think first of all, and you hit upon
the health and that's a big concern. We'll see a
different lineup tonight. Otani's going to lead things off. A
couple of the guys are going to be taking the
night off, at least in Game one. We know that
most of the team's going to be in there in
Game three of this series, Game one sixty two, well,
Clayton Kershaw will make the final regular season start of

(23:53):
his brilliant career. In the meantime, the Dodgers have to
get healthy, and there may be a couple of guys.
One in particular comes to mind, Charlie, and that's Tommy
Edmond with his ankle. He came out of the ball
game the other day in Arizona, not really overly concerned,
but there's a little bit of ache and pain right there.
There's still we don't know if there's any window of

(24:13):
opportunity even for the entirety of postseason for Will Smith
with a hairline fraction is right hand. The last update
that we have, he's not even throwing the baseball much
less is he able to swing the bat with both hands,
and that is a huge, huge concern. So I think
at the top of the list is to find out
who's healthy. The second part of that list, okay, when

(24:34):
do the Dodgers have enough information as to who they're
going to play, when they're going to play. They know
it's going to be on Tuesday, is going to be
a day game and night game, but don't really know.
But who's going to be in the starting rotation and
what's the rotation going to be looking like depending upon
the team, And that involves is a team left handed hitting?

(24:56):
Is it right handed hitting? Who matchups best against the
other team? Right now, it's on.

Speaker 7 (25:01):
Hold depending on the outcome of their games. The Dodgers
will face either the Mets, the Reds or the Diamondbacks
on Tuesday. Now here's another question going into the postseason.
And it was fascinating to me. We had Kershaw come
in out of the bullpen. He did his job, Sasaki
did his job. Are they now part of the bullpen

(25:22):
contingent for Dave Roberts?

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Good good presentation of a question, And I think Kershaw,
without question Sasaki, I think we will see him at
least once, maybe more than that in this series. Right now,
with a chance to come out and show his wares,
he was most impressive. There's no question about that. Clayton
Kershaw knows how to pitch. I don't care where you
put him. If you put him in the game in

(25:44):
the first inning, the fifth inning, the ninth inning, he
knows how to do it, and he can adjust. And
he's already volunteered to be able to do that the
starting pitching. If we look at the starting pitching, Charlie
to this particular point, since the first of August, the
Dot starters have the best er in Major League Baseball.

(26:04):
So the bullpen has been questionable, but there's no question
of what the starting rotation has done.

Speaker 7 (26:10):
Here's a number about Clayton Kershaw. We've seen a million
of them. Here's one. I haven't seen it until today.
The Dodgers record since Clayton Kershaw began back in June
of two thousand and eight, team record is sixteen hundred
and twenty one wins, one one hundred and forty two losses,

(26:32):
a winning percentage of five eighty two with Kershaw on
the roster, and that, by the way, is the best
record in that time in Major League Baseball. The Yankees
are second to the Dodgers. So you know what Kerkshaw means.
And now coming out of the bullpen, put another notch
on his legacy.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah, I mean, if you look at those numbers, I mean,
there's no question he has been one of the lightning
rods in this organization that has just continued to have
expectations of going to the Bose and not just show up,
but to really do something. And obviously, coming off the
World Championship season, every time they've gone into a town
they know full well, hey the World champions are coming

(27:10):
to town. Everybody has up their game. So I look
at nighty victories to this point for this Dodger Backlum,
I think that's a heck of accomplishment because everybody has
wanted a part of them when they came into town.

Speaker 7 (27:21):
And of course they have been beaten to a pulp
physically down the stretch. The bullpen has been an issue.
But here they are sitting back waiting on the outcomes
of the Mets, the Reds, and Diamondbacks and who they
will be facing Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Tim all right, thank you, Charlie. Great to hear your
voice as we leave you up to first pitch here
on this Friday night. Dodger fans, what's your game plan?
You need one? Dodgers have one every single night. Start
your future to California Community College. Financial aids available. They

you waiting for? Classes can fill up quickly so you

need to enroll today and I can go to dot com.
Still to come here on Wrongo Casino Dodgers on Deck,
We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup. But up next
we'll hear from Tyler Glass, now Dodger right hander. We
get ready for the first of three in Seattle, Dodgers
and Mariners. I'm Tim Kase's, a world champion Los Angeles
Dodgers audio nowhere.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino Dodgers on
jack on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Lean you up to Dodgers and Mariners on this Friday
night image. She and George Kirby the pitching matchup, first
of three from Seattle this weekend to wrap up the
regular season Dodgers Baseball, brought to you by Shaky's Pizza Parlor,
the official pizza partner of the Dodgers Audio broadcast. When
it's game day, it's group day at Shaky's dot Com.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
And now what will likely be vast fielding insults from
a Dodger player.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
It's an engagement of endearment.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
This is high and tight.

Speaker 11 (28:57):
It's the day after clinch day for the Dodgers and
I'm joining right now by Tyler Glass now, Tyler number one.
Congratulations on being such a big part of the team
this year and looking forward to what October brings for
you and the team.

Speaker 6 (29:10):
Thank you, dude. Yeah, it's awesome. It's exciting.

Speaker 12 (29:12):
It's nice to be back two years in a row,
and this time I can participate, So I'm super excited.

Speaker 11 (29:17):
Yeah, for you and Kershaw, this has got to be
really rewarding because at this time last year you were
both on the sidelines. Does it make it feel a
little bit different being part of it this time around?

Speaker 6 (29:27):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 12 (29:28):
I just think kind of Yeah, you play all season
long to go and have a chance to compete in
the postseason, So I think definitely from last year to
this year, it's totally different.

Speaker 11 (29:36):
What was your experience in the celebration yesterday? You didn't
do the slipping slide?

Speaker 6 (29:40):
No, I didn't. I didn't do the slipping side. Yeah,
it was super fun. It was awesome.

Speaker 12 (29:45):
All the guys are having fun just watching and a
lot of the staff members do the slipping side. I
was just kind of hanging out watching talking to people,
kind of chilling.

Speaker 11 (29:52):
Hey, Tyler Clayton said in his last press conference, how
much you guys mean to him, how much this group
means to him, how much does he.

Speaker 6 (30:00):
Mean to you?

Speaker 11 (30:01):
And being teammates with him the last couple of years.

Speaker 12 (30:04):
Yeah, I mean just growing up around California and always
like looking up to Kershaw, you know, watching him. I
think it's pretty surreal for me to be his teammate.
And I think not only be his teammate, but just
get to know him as a person. And he's such
an awesome dude, an awesome dad, amazing player. I just
think like everything overall is the most like impressive thing
about him. I think he's just everything in life. He

(30:25):
seems to have pretty dialed in, so I think just
like being able to talking about whatever has been super
helpful for me.

Speaker 6 (30:30):
The last two starts.

Speaker 11 (30:31):
Dave Roberts has really sung your praises for maybe not
having everything working, but staying out there and competing and
finding a way to get through five or six. How
much reward is that in it for you to know
that you can do that.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Oh, yeah, it's great.

Speaker 12 (30:48):
I think the last two have been a bit of
a struggle, just like trying to find my stuff, and
I think the silver lining of all that is like
the days it doesn't feel good, just trying to scrape
by and get those innings pitched and get to like
a pitch, and I've been able to do that.

Speaker 11 (31:01):
I think that's the biggest thing for any pitcher, Tyler,
is when you don't have everything working and feeling great,
but you still go out there and give your team
what they need. It feels like that's what Dave Roberts
was singing the praises up.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (31:15):
I think it was at a time too. We kind
of needed it in the bullpen, so I was super
happy I got to go off there and compete and yeah,
hopefully I can feel better and not have to grind
so hard this next one.

Speaker 11 (31:25):
Yeah, is there a friendly competition because you guys have
so many great starters. One guy does something, does the
next guy say, I gotta kind of live up to
what the guy before did and keep this thing going.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 12 (31:38):
I know the fun answers to say yes, but I
think a lot of it is like it just depends
on the person. For me, like, I don't necessarily like
I don't know if it makes me like pitch any
better or else. I think it's nice to just have
a good team, a good starting staff to win a
lot of games. And I think each start, I guess,
for me, seems to be more of like a me
versus me individual type of thing. And then do as
well as you can with your defense, and.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
It's definitely like it's fun to watch.

Speaker 12 (32:05):
I guess, like you want to if we're on a roll,
you want to participate and you want to like keep
the role going and stuff like that. I guess your
friendly Yeah, competition, Competition makes me think we're like, oh
I I do better than this guy, blah blah blah.
I think it's more like I hope everyone dominates and
like almost in a perfect world. It's like if I'm
dominating and doing as best as I can, but I
have the fifth best stats, like that might be the best,

(32:27):
you know what I mean, Like maybe being the worst
is the best off.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
Like just our our team is insane. So I think
it just depends who you ask.

Speaker 11 (32:34):
Since your last start, what are you trying to work
on to get that feel? Because I see you working
out there every day. You're always trying to perfect your craft.

Speaker 6 (32:42):
Uh yeah, just trying to get on time.

Speaker 12 (32:44):
Right now, it's been kind of a grind I think
it just happens throughout the season, and I think it's
like you do everything right and then it comes out
of the hand a little off, and I think it's
just I'm trying to lock that in right now, kind
of how it was when I first came back. But yeah,
this is a good time to lock it in right now.
And then going to post and.

Speaker 11 (33:00):
Where did you come up with the stretch above your
head a La Krushan bringing it back down to a
set position. Does that help with the hands and the separation.

Speaker 6 (33:10):
I think for me, I've always have had issues like tipping.

Speaker 12 (33:12):
I used to have my hand up like kind of
pointing to the cutcher started tipping that way, I switched again.
It's just like I think we watch it every start
and the only and like I'll get to apartment Carrea,
I'm not tipping today, and I can like it, but
I don't like staying stationary with my hand, so I
have to move them. And if I moved them a
little differently before, started to tip a little bit.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
Then I went over the head. Things were looking pretty good.

Speaker 12 (33:32):
So I've stuck with that and I think if like
I'm sure at some point it'll change again.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
So it'll just it's always just like kind of work
in progress.

Speaker 11 (33:39):
I hear so much more about tipping and pictures being concerned,
like am I doing something to tip off my pitches?
Why is tipping becomes such a big part of this now.

Speaker 12 (33:48):
I think it's probably a bunch of different answers and
just trying to find an edge, like anywhere you can.
And I think that like there's just it's easier. I
know a lot of I don't know who uses it
or who doesn't, but there's just programs now that are
easy to like, oh, relay mechanics, and like if I'm
doing something different on my curveball and you overlay the
two and you see it, it's like a very glaring
obvious thing. And so like every team with the scouting
report has that on you, especially if your guy who

(34:11):
doesn't give up a ton of hits. It's like any
time you can find an edge, I think a lot
of times guys will find it. If you do it
the start one start, at the next start, they'll have it.
So like our guys are trying to find them as well,
trying to beat them to it, work on it throughout
the week, and then go into the game and don't
have to worry about it.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
That's wild. The technology is.

Speaker 11 (34:28):
The hitters always say the pitchers have everything in their favor,
but I guess that's just the hitter's point of view.

Speaker 12 (34:35):
Yeah, I would say probably, like all the analytical actual stuff,
maybe pitchers might be a bit ahead because we're in
like control, we're throwing and they're reacting, but like.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
There's a lot of stuff they got that they can
they can find out.

Speaker 11 (34:45):
So yeah, I'm not feeling sad for hitters these days,
except when they're facing Tyler Glass now before I let
you go. Every round is different. The Wildcard series is
only three games, only three starters. Would you feel comfortable
if the Dodgers asked, hey, we need you for the
bullpen in a Wildcard series?

Speaker 6 (35:04):
Yeah, I don't. I'll do whatever. I don't really care.

Speaker 12 (35:05):
I think whatever they come up with, I'm down for
whatever they got.

Speaker 11 (35:10):
That would be amazing seeing you come out of those gates.

Speaker 6 (35:12):
Yeah, for sure. Whatever, as long as I'm pitching, I
don't care.

Speaker 11 (35:15):
It's good, love it, it's going great. Thank you for
the time, and look forward to seeing you a few
more times. In a beautiful, soaked champagne shirt.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
Yes, me too, Thank you, dude, appreciate it.

Speaker 11 (35:25):
There he is the man heart high Zone. Tyler Glass
now and he'll receive a gift card to Boulevard Steak
in Sherman Oaks, a new location in Calabasas as well.
We'll send it back to you.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
All right, Grehat to see Tyler Glass now healthy here
in twenty twenty five. He was a big part of
the twenty twenty four regular season until he got hurt
late in September. All right, coming up here on Wrongo,
because you know Dodger's on deck, you're gonna hit more
to this pitching matchup. We'll get to the keys to
the game as we are getting closer to first pitch

(35:56):
from Seattle. The final three games of the regular season
Dodge interleague series against the Mariners Dodgers winners of the
NL West, Mariners winners of the AL West, both teams
going to the postseason. Dodgers will play in the wildcard round.
I'm beginning on Tuesday. Their opponent we'll find out in
the next couple of days together as the Reds and
Mets battle it out for that third wildcard spot in

(36:18):
the National League. Well time deeper to this pitching matchup. Next,
don't go anywhere. I'm Tim Kase, the world champion Los
Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
This is Morongo Cassino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Dodgers and Mariners from T Mobile Park in Settle the
first to three to wrap up the regular season. First
pitch coming up a six.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Forty and now before the Dodgers hit the dining, we
look at the pitching.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Matchup presented by your Southern California Toyota Dealers. Work hard
in play hard in a New Tacoma with an I
Force Turbo Charts engine. It's a truck built for the bold.
See your Toyota dealer today. They make it easz. George
Kirby on the mound for the Mariners, ten and seven
with a four to twenty forur Er, twenty seven year
old right hander, first round pick of the Mariners in

(37:10):
twenty nineteen, his fourth season down the big League's making
his twenty third start this season. He throws the four
seam fastball, the slider, the sinker, and the knuckle curve.
Last time out, six shutout innings, five hits, seven strikeouts
on a win over the Astros. He's three and zero
with the two to fifty four ERA and thirty four
strikeouts in his last five home starts there in Seattle.

(37:30):
It's his second career start against the Dodgers. His only
previous start, he went six innings, four runs, five hits,
seven strikeouts in a loss. Emmitt Shean on the mound
for the Dodgers, twenty five year old right hander, finally
healthy six and three, two eighty six e R ray
and his third season out in the Big League's missed
all last year in the first couple of months of
this season, recovering from Tommy John surgery. He's healthy and

(37:52):
he's been really good. Making his twelve start, his fifteenth appearance.
He's kind of done everything. He's been a starter, he's
been just an opener. He's been in the bulkinning guy.
It's come out of the bullpen. Last time out, seven
shoutout innings, one hit, ten strikeouts in a no decision
against the Giants, arguably his best outing this season, but
he got no decision for it. He last faced the
Mariners well back in September or twenty twenty three. He's

(38:14):
one and only started against them. He went three innings.
He allowed just to one hit, five strikeouts in a
no decision. Emmitt Shean, George Kirby Dodgers Mariners. We are
fifteen minutes away from first bitch from Seattle. Keys to
the game are coming up next. I'm Tim Kais's the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio nowher.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on tack on your home
for the Blue all season long long.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
It's the Dodgers and Mariners from Seattle Washington Interleague series
to wrap up this twenty twenty five regular season. Both
teams will go to October Baseball. IMIDs she and George
Kirby the pitching matchup in this series opener from Team
Mobile Park in Seattle. Before that, let's head back up
there get our final thoughts before first pitch from Tim

(39:08):
Neffett and Rick Monday.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Guys, Thank you very much, Tim. Great evening here in Seattle.
Roof has got to be open tonight at Tea Mobile
Park for this one as the Dodgers and the Mariners
play the first of a three game series. Emmitt Sheen
six and three in a two eight six ERA makes
his twelfth start his fifteenth appearance, and this figures to
be his final start of the regular season before he

(39:32):
moves to the bullpen for the postseason. He's been very,
very good. He's got one of the better batting averages against,
only one eighty five against him. He's in the top
three among nationally qualifiers.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Tim Ian Emmitt Sheen has some really terrific numbers. When
you start to look at September, you know, three starts
plus one relief, a one ninety eight average against a
one forty eight ERA. Then you start to look the
last forty one batters to face Emmitt Sheen with two strikes.
How many hints has he given up? Zero zipity do
da nothing And for she And in the home run department,

(40:06):
he's gone twenty three in a third innings without allowing
the ball hit out of the ballpark. Could be interesting,
especially when cal Roley comes to home plate and City
was sixty.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Yeah, he's only allowed seven this season. Menantime, George Kirby's
allowed fourteen. He'll make his twenty third start, had a
win last time out against Houston and back of the
fourteenth of September, he struck out fourteen angels and he's
got a couple of fourteen strikeout games, both against the Angels.

Speaker 4 (40:32):
Yeah, one thing about Kirby, very quickly with two strikes,
he elevates the ball, and over the last three years,
two strikes elevates the fast ball gets high strikeouts. That's
the highest percentage in Major League Baseball. Two strikes elevating
the fastball.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Three games to go in the regular season. Postseason begins
at Dodger Stadium Tuesday night time and opponent still to
be determined. But tonight we know the Mariners and the
Dodgers are going to play here in Seattle.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Tim all right, appreciate that, guys first coming up from Seattle. Yeah,
the Dodgers lineup looks a little different tonight with a
night off for Mookie Betts and a night off for
Freddie Freeman. Max Months again bothered by but a little
bit of a lower lay injury. But we'll be good
to go once the wild card round begins on Tuesday.

(41:18):
You heard from him earlier when he talked with David
vas Say, show hey Otani. Yeah, we're used to seeing
him there in the lead. Ospot Andy pot has batting second,
Michael Conforto a batting third, Taoser Hernandez betting cleaning up.
Should be a good night, fun weekend in Seattle to
wrap up the twenty twenty five regular season. The AL
West Champs, the NL West Champs. It's the Dodgers and

(41:41):
the Mariners from Seattle when we come back. This has
