Speaker 2 (00:41):
Tim Case, Hi, everybody and look hme into Oldrongo Casino.
Dodgers on Day. Hope you're enjoying this beautiful Saturday afternoon
here in southern California. You're a world champion. Los Angeles
Dodgers are in the Pacific Northwest to finish off the
regular season ninety one and sixty nine on this season.
They took the season a series opener last night at

(01:04):
t Mobile Park in Seattle. Tonight, they look to do
it again with two games left to go in the
regular season. Tyler Glass now on the mound tonight, first
pitch coming up at six point forty. Coming up over
the next hour here on Marongo Casino, Dodgers on Deck.
You're gonna hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts. That's
coming up. At about fifteen minutes. Kirsten Watson will join

(01:24):
us live from the field in Seattle at the very
latest we'll preview this pitching matchup. David Vasse joins us
throughout the hour. We got your Dodgers magical moment coming
up at about thirty minutes. Coming up in just a
few minutes, we'll head out to the Gallpin Motors Broadcast
with with Tim Neverertt and Rick Monday. Well, last night
in Seattle, got a little bit of a surprise immag

(01:44):
Shehon got the start, and then it turned out to
be a Bullpenn game. He went just the one inning.
Turns out he was only gonna throw about twenty five
pitches no more as he gets ready to help out
this Dodgers team in whatever capacity come October and the
Wildcard Series beginning next Tuesday at Dodgers Stadium. So in
went the one inning, and in that one inning didn't
get much help an air brought in a run as

(02:05):
the Mariners took a one to nothing lead after Imadge
and Justin Robleski came in pitch two innings, struck out three,
give him three hits, and then it was passing the
baton on to the next guy, to the next guy,
and to the next guy. Meanwhile, the Dodgers offense finally
got to work in the third. Dalton Rushing opened up
the inning with the single Hernandez lied to three to
one pitch off George Kirby over the left field wall

(02:27):
to give the Dodgers a.

Speaker 8 (02:28):
Lead three and one to Key k Rushing at first,
stretched by Kirby and the Mariner right handed throwers, and
this ball's belt at the left and deep.

Speaker 9 (02:38):
This ball's back.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It has got a home run.

Speaker 8 (02:41):
Key k Hernandez flips the score and gives the Dodgers
a two to one lead with his tenth home run
of the season, a laser beam the left right in
the Dodger bullpen as Key k Hernandez got a two
seamer on the inside part of the plate.

Speaker 9 (02:58):
He turned on it, launched it.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
He get Hernandez his tenth home run of the season
on that three to one pitch to give the Dodgers
a two to one lead. They would tack on one
more in the sixth. Michael Kunfordo started the inning with
the walk to Oscar Hernandez single two outs later, Dalton rushing.

Speaker 8 (03:16):
They've discovered in triple A that most of the challenges
are used. From the seventh inning on, there's a hot
shot into right field, a base hit heading around Thurvis
Confordo crow from canzone offline ahead first slide safe his
confortole and Dalton rushing with two outs drives in a run.

Speaker 9 (03:35):
It's three to one Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Dodgers with a three to one lead. As we mentioned
a bullpen game, she and to Robleski to climb to
Banda to Sasaki. Rookie Sazaki, by the way, was fantastics
give up a hip. It struck out too. Blake trying
to got into some trouble in the eighth inning, as
the Mariners scored a run on an RBI single from
ken Zone that made it a three to two game.
The ninth inning belong to Tanner Scott, who gave out

(03:59):
a two double to Raleigh, then an intentional walk to
Julio Rodriguez. He hit Mitch Garver to load the bases,
but he struck out the final batter of the game
to get the win. Dodgers walk the tightrope and they
get the three to two victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Dodgers now ninety one and sixty nine on this season,
one game under five hundred on this season, but they

(04:21):
can get to the five hundred mark with a win Tonight,
game two of this three game series from T BOBWL Park,
Tyler Glass now on the mounta with more. We head
out to the Galpin Motors Broadcast booth as we welcome
in Tim Neverett and Rick Monday.

Speaker 9 (04:33):
Guys, Tim, thanks very much.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
RUFE is open on a beautiful September evening here in Seattle, Washington,
as the Dodgers and the Mariners played the penultimate game
of the twenty twenty five season, game number one sixty one.
After the Dodgers took the opener last night three to two.
Tyler Glass now will be on the hill four and three,
the record three third of the era. Logan Gilbert, the

(04:57):
right hander for the Mariners, will start six and six
in a three forty three earn run average. Dodgers ninety
one and sixty nine and the Mariners ninety and seventy,
and that win last night most snapped the Mariners eleven
game home winning streak, and the Dodgers now have won
ten straight against Seattle, twenty of the last twenty three.

Speaker 10 (05:19):
Well, this Dodger ball club now ninety one and sixty
nine and they're one game below five hundred on the
road for the regular season. Oh okay, that's all. Well,
a good tonight. The theme song is don't do anything silly,
and by silly, i'm talking about make sure you call
for the boat. No collisions trying to go after baseball,
don't run into a wall, don't get in an injury

(05:41):
situation at all. As we're just two games left in
the regular season, the Dodgers are looking forward to a Tuesday,
still undetermined as the start time and their opponent. But
if we're looking at the postseason plank. Yeah, the theme
song don't do anything silly tonight.

Speaker 9 (05:58):
Top of the order looks a little bit different.

Speaker 8 (06:00):
No show, Hey, O tany he is getting a day
off and Dave Roberts saying that he will not participate tonight.

Speaker 9 (06:07):
You know what, that's good?

Speaker 10 (06:08):
Go ahead and relax the clean the mind a little
bit let the body relax a little bit more so Edmund,
followed by Mookie Benz than Freddie Freeman. Andy Pies will
bat fourth, my cooking Fotos in left field, Alex call
will play in right field, Rojas at second, kick a
Heernanez is at third, and Dalton Rushing will do the

(06:29):
catching tonight. The other part, too, is is that Max
Munsey a little banged up. All we have been told
is lower body soreness to that extent, but we did
see Muncie on the field taking ground balls at third
base and also in batting practice.

Speaker 8 (06:44):
Some we're asking Dave about the reaction that Shohy had
when he found out he wasn't in the lineup, and
basically David said, well, he left it up to me,
and he said, he told o'tani, you're not making my
job any easier. But at the same time, show was
really concerned about making sure everybody that was available got
as many at bats as they could. And that's why Edmund,

(07:06):
who's still a little bit sore, is not going to
play in the field. He'll bat first in dah.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (07:10):
You know what that tells me is that the show,
hey Otani, is team oriented. And Dave Roberts knew full
well that he is going to be bombarded with questions,
what do you mean Otani's not in the lineup as
the dh tonight?

Speaker 9 (07:22):
Now he was bombarded with questions.

Speaker 8 (07:24):
Andrew Heeny, former Dodger left hander, was with the Pirates
this year DFAD and picked up by the Dodgers again.
He'd been in Oklahoma City, but the Dodgers called him
up today. Will Klein has been optioned back, so Andrew
Heeny is in the Dodger bullpen and available to back
up Toddler Glasnow, you.

Speaker 10 (07:42):
Know, it's really nice for those of us that are
around this game. This is called scoreboard watching, because there
are a lot of ball clubs right now, second to
the last regular season game that if they win or lose,
will determine if they need to pack their bags tonight
or tomorrow the suitcases open for a few more days.

Speaker 8 (08:02):
And that has to do with the Dodgers' opponent on Tuesday.
It's down to a point where it's one or the other.
Now it's either the Mets or the Reds. So we'll
see what happens with the Reds tonight. We know the
Mets won today, so how many times have you been asking?
I also wonder if Dave Robertson's asked, Okay, who would
you prefer to play? Would it be one club or
the other club. You don't want to get pigeonholed and

(08:22):
paint yourself into a corner. It doesn't matter which team
you want to get the postseason play. You know, very quietly,
I think we all have choices. We say, well, does
it match up better the offense against this team? Does
it match up better the starting rotation or this other team?
Whatever comes down to. The Dodgers know they have a
baseball game to play on Tuesday, and they have a
baseball game to play tonight and a game that they're

(08:45):
trying to win too. Tyler Glass now against Logan Gilbert,
Dodgers and Mariners, Game two from Seattle Tip.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
All right, thank you guys, as we count you down
to first pitch. Dodger fans, get your game day meal on.
It's Shaky's Pizza Parmer. What are your Shaky's Pizza? Check
You to Mojo's right now at shakys dot com. Coming
up here on Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deck. You're gonna
hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts. We will check
in with David vest say we break down this pitching

(09:11):
match up up next, Oh you're Otani. Rewind and we'll
go live to the field in Seattle Sports and at
LA's Kirsten Watson will stop by. That's all coming up
as we lead you up on this Saturday night to
Dodgers and Mariners from T Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington.
Thanks for being with us. I'm Tim kass the world
champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (09:34):
This is Morongo Cassino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
It's the Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners on this Saturday
and nights. Two games to go, then the postseason begins.
Tyler Glass now on the mountain. First pitch coming up
at six forty.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
This is the Otani.

Speaker 8 (09:55):
Rewhy Diamondbacks in San Diego, leading the Padres two nothing
in the bottom of the third. Andre is hosting the Diamondbacks.
There goes Otani for second base. Pretty good jump too,
and he slides and he's safe.

Speaker 9 (10:09):
At show. Hey O'tani with his twentieth stolen base.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Show, Hey Otani can do it? All didn't have a
hit last night, didn't pitch last night. Has the night
off tonight, but last night stolen base number twenty for
show hey Otani, part of a three to two win
over the Mariners.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Hey Karson. Now it joins us from Seattle. Brought to
by Cars for Kids. Ready to donate that old car?
Of course you are called eight seven seven Cars for
Kids right now, friendly agents standing by to take your donation.
That's Cars with the K to donate your car today.
Dodgers with two games left, Kirston in Seattle and no
show Hey Otani in the lineup. Kind of weird to
see the lineup put out and the designated hitter is Tommy.

Speaker 11 (10:51):
Edmond well first and foremost, and everybody deserves an off day.
We got to see it with Lukey Fetzu's Freddy Freeman
yesterday having themselves to spade and say it's going to
be show. Heyo, Tonnie. Just as they prepare to close
out the regular season, there's two more games left to
be back in the lineup tomorrow, and so Dave was saying,
you had a conversation with him to kind of checked

(11:12):
in and see how he's feeling. He said that it
was up to Dave to make that decision. And because
Tommy edmund is his ankle is still a little bit sore,
but he wants to make sure he's getting me at
bats to prepare himself for the postseason that starts on Tuesday.
So this is a good way for Tommy to be
in there as a DH and get his at bats
today and then for show Ay you can just have

(11:33):
a little relaxation. And he's actually throwing a bullpen right now.
But after that he has the rest of the evening off.
He will not be expected to be available late in
the game at all. He gets to sit back, relax
and enjoy baseball game tonight.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Tyler Glass now going last night, Kirsten, we all thought
im and Sheena was going to go out there as
long as he can. Turns out it was a bullpen game.
What's the plan for Tyler Glass now now tonight?

Speaker 11 (11:59):
Yeah, he's going to be shortened up as well. It's
going to look a little bit different than an e
machine last night. So for Emmett, the plan with him
to just throw twenty five pitches, so he ultimately only
got through one inning of work. If he could have
gone back out there for two, that would have been great.
But for Kyler today, he's not going to be shortened
up to one or two innings. But they are going
to shorten him up. But the wild Card starting on Tuesday,

(12:22):
the team is having conversations as to what the pitching
staff is going to look like, and ultimately they want
to carry their best pictures. Tyler Glass now is one
of their best pictures, so they are going to shorten
him up.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Today.

Speaker 11 (12:33):
Dave was saying that it could be three innings, it
could be four innings. Potentially he could even get through five,
but they do want to put him in a position
where he could be available come the wild Card series,
and that's what they decide they want to do well.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
They're certainly planning for Tuesday, Wednesday, possibly Thursday, and that
all planning begins this weekend. In strategy as far as
what they do against the Mariners cares, so we appreciate it.
We will check in with you after the game. Still
to come here, I'm wrong, Casino Dodgers on Deck will
dive deeper into this pitching matchup. But up next your
injury report and we hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts.
It's the Dodgers and Maritors from Seattle. I'm Tim Kates

(13:09):
is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (13:15):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck on your home
for the Blue all season long.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Marongo Casino Dodgers on Deck continues. It leads up to
first pitch Dodgers and the Maritors from Seattle, Marongo Casino
Resort and Spa, a Grand Slam for good times.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
It's the LA Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Injury Report presented by UCLA Healthy Official medical partner of
the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kirby Yates on the il with
the hamstring injury. Will Smith on the iel with the
hairline fracture in his right hand. No Max Months, He's
still bothered by the bruise and his lower leg. Not
in the lineup tonight for the Dodgers. Dave Roberts says,
though he should be good to go for the postseason,
and well, Max Months, he himself, don't David Best say

(13:58):
that he will be good to go come Tuesday. All right,
Let's head back up to Seattle and check out with
the Dodgers. Keebber A.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Questions for Dave.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
Dave, can you just describe Dave?

Speaker 9 (14:09):
Can you talk about the pressure in the.

Speaker 12 (14:11):
Dugouts with Dave Robberts, Yeah, with Tyler kind of in
the vein of potentially having our best pitchers available for
the postseason.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
You know there is a world where that could happen.

Speaker 12 (14:29):
So today, just to kind of, you know, kick the
can on that opportunity, we're going to shorten them up.
I don't really know what that looks like. It could
be three innings, it could be four innings, could be
five innings. So I think that's all contingent on pitch count.
But to answer your question, we are going to short them.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Up a little bit.

Speaker 13 (14:50):
Since he's returned from the IL stuff, it's absoste very good.
What I stood out to you just about his performance
and what he's going to be able to do to
help you all this year come onto.

Speaker 12 (15:04):
I think you know, since he's been back recently, the
stuff's been much more consistent. The I just feel that,
and I've talked about mound presence and how he's going
about his business attacking hitters and kind of being unflappable.
I think those are things that have been really encouraging

(15:26):
for me. But he's had a tremendous He's on a
tremendous run right now.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
Have you seen Tyler being available in a potential relief
l He's on an help gar and renovation for the
Wild Heard series.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 12 (15:40):
You know, with everyone on our team, they're just up
for whatever is asked of them, and I think that
they mean that sincerely, so as far as kind of
what we can do is short them up today and
then kind of see where we're at once we make
that roster decision. But this at least gives us an option.

(16:01):
But I do know he'll be up for whatever.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
If you short him up. Will he be back online Tuesday?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Possibly if needed?

Speaker 12 (16:08):
I guess that's all kind of contingent on how much
we shorten shorten him up and how he feels come Tuesday.

Speaker 10 (16:16):
Is that why Andrew Haney's here to kind of soap
up those extra innings?

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Yes, that is why Andrew's here.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Do you want to announce who's starting on Tuesday?

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Yet? Not yet. We're gonna keep it close to the vest. Yeah,
not not yet.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
How's Tommy Edmund's ankle? You got him as a d
H today and where's months he at any anything new months?

Speaker 4 (16:38):
He's feeling better, just kind of overall body. So yeah, he's.

Speaker 12 (16:46):
Feeling better, but I obviously don't have him the lineup today.
Tommy is uh, there's still some soreness. That's why he's
not playing the field. Gonna d H wants to get
is that bats feels We feel good about that. And
obviously the elephant in the room is show. He's off
today and everyone's had days off and so this is

(17:09):
a day that I just wanted to make sure and
I talked to him and he felt good about taking
today off and he'll be back in.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
The lineup tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Let's go in there tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Hoping. Yeah, maybe not hopeful, but hoping.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
All right, there's the manager, Dave Roberts, giving him some
thoughts on what he's thinking this weekend and the plans
for the alls are for the playoffs coming up on Tuesday.
We'll step aside. When we come back, we will check
in with David vase Is. He leads out to first
pitch from the Seattle on this Saturday night. Tyler Glass
now on the mound for the Blue as Morongo Casino
Dodgers on Deck continues right here on your world Champion

(17:47):
Los Angeles Dodgers. Oh your network.

Speaker 7 (17:51):
As we were saying, yes, is Marongo Casino Dodgers on
Jack on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Yes, the Dodgers and the Mariners on this Saturday. Tyler
Glass now Logan Gilbert. The pitching matchup, first pitcher t
bowbull Park is coming up Essex forty.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Joining Tim Cates on Dodgers on Deck.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
I accept everybody for who they are.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
This is Dodger insider.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
David and David Down joins us from the field and
see he had a lot of buzz this weekend, certainly
looking ahead to tomorrow. We'll get that out in a second.
Benkus Sperry's though David haven't heard his name in a while.
Is he possibly in the mix still for this Dodgers
team come the playoffs?

Speaker 14 (18:38):
Yeah, Kim, I asked Dave Roberts about that earlier today.
Ben was such a big part of the Dodgers' bullpen
and starting staff, throat pitching sixty plus innings the first
half of the season, and he is going to be
at Dodgers Stadium for a workout on Monday, prior to
Game one of the Wildcards series on Tuesday, and depending

(18:58):
on the matchups. Robert said that yes, Bank Casparius, with
the injury to Brock Stewart, definitely can be part of
the Dodgers' bullpen in any one of the playoffs series
that they play in.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
David has brought to you by Ford. There's time to
see Ford in a new line mentioned It's a very
very special weekend. A lot of buzz up there in
Seattle tomorrow, Clayton Kershaw making his final start. Any special
guests come in, David, I.

Speaker 14 (19:26):
Got a text this morning, Tim from Clayton Kershaw's good friend,
a guy that caught his one and only no hitter
and with synonymous with kershaw starts, and that's aj Ellis.
Aj Ellis is going to fly from San Diego tomorrow
morning to Seattle and we'll be sitting with the Kershaw
family to witness Kershaw's final regular season start. And also

(19:50):
Rick Honeycutt, the former pitching coach, Kershaw's first pitching coach,
longtime trusted guy. He is here in Seattle. He flew
up specifically for his start tomorrow as well. So those
are the two guys that saw the first Kershaw start
and they want to see the last one as well.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna be a special day tomorrow, certainly a
special weekend up in the Pacific Northwest. David Vessey live
at T Mobile Park in Seattle. Dave, we've seen Rookie
Sasaki now twice out of the bullpen in each series.
Last night against the Mariners, before that against the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Are you sold on his role?

Speaker 11 (20:28):
Yes?

Speaker 14 (20:28):
I am. Last night was electric sell out crowd, a
forty five thousand plus here in Seattle. Tim, they were
all on their feet chanting MVP for Cal Rawley, and
Sasaki proceeded to strike him out on three pitches three
split finger, fastballs, fork falls, whatever you want to call him.
That was impressive. He never lost his poise and really

(20:51):
talking to Andrew Friedman and Rick Honeycutt today, Actually Andrew
told me this two weeks ago that part of the
reason why he didn't have common sidence is because his
throws weren't correct. He didn't have his ninety nine one
hundred miles an hour. Rick honeycut echoed that to me
earlier today as well. So it confirmed that when he's

(21:12):
feeling right, you're more confident on the mount that you
can actually get big league hitters out, and we've seen that.
And everybody I've talked to on the team, from players
to coaches to front office, they're all buying on Roki
Sasaki being a big part of the Dodger bullpen in
the postseason.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Dave, final thing, Will Smith? What are you hearing Tuesday's
game one the Wildcard round? Will he be available? Are
they shooting maybe to the next round the Dodgers advanced.

Speaker 14 (21:38):
I feel like it's more realistic to him that Will
Smith would be available for the NLBS. As far as
what he's doing right now. He's still catching bullpens, but
still has the splint on his right throwing hand and
is certainly not going to is certainly not going to
be able to catch or throw in that first round.

(22:01):
And for me, he can't even swing her back yet.
So yeah, don't see it happening until the NLDS.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
All right, Dave, appreciate it. That's why David is the best,
always working. You hear them down there on the field
getting the very latest for you Dodger fans on this
Dodgers team, including the update on ah J. Ellis Rick
Honeycut gonna be at the game tomorrow. Nobody else has
got that. That's great information day. We'll be back in
just a little bit with Blake Tryning coming up next though.
Here on Moroco Casino Dodgers on Deck, We'll get your
Dodgers a magical moment. Don't go anywhere, Dodgers and Mariners.

(22:30):

And now joined by David Bassey. Here's La Dodgers broadcaster

(25:21):
and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Rick.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
I don't know about you last night, but this sellout
crowd in Seattle did not realize this game did not
matter in the standings department. They were playoff like atmosphere
from the first pitch of the game last match.

Speaker 10 (25:40):
Well, you would be too if it was your team's
first American League Western Division championship in twenty four years.
It's gonna be a sellout tonight, sellout tomorrow as well.
With the two games left in the regular season schedule.
Both of these teams are headed to postseason play. For
the Mariners, they're going to cool their heels until Saturday.
The Dodgers will be in hard on Tuesday the Dodgers

(26:02):
Stadium and still undetermined as to who they will be
playing against and what time will be first pitch.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
Dave Roberts really set the tone when the Dodgers clenched.
He said very sternly, he doesn't care who the Dodgers play.
They'll take all commerce on.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Yeah, well you don't want billboard material.

Speaker 10 (26:21):
Just off the bat that we talked last night about
the fact that Dave Roberts addressing the team after they
clenched it the Western Division championship. Again, we might add
by saying, postgame, before they open up the champagne, that's
step number one of the season. And he also emphasized
look continuing to play for each other, which I think

(26:43):
is extremely important. And he says, understand, this has to
be the most important five weeks of your life coming up,
and that's what is going to take. You know, there's
a lot more teams than in postseason play now. It
takes thirteen victories if you're in that wild cars. The
Dodgers are going to be used to be eleven. Now
it takes thirteen to get back and for the Dodgers

(27:04):
to double up on World Championship.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
Rick, I've been meaning to ask you this. I'm waiting
for the right time, the right game, and here we
are maybe tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (27:12):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
This is about the best outfielder for the Dodgers, the
guy that's had the best season, and that's Andy poe Has.
We talked about him a lot in the beginning of
the season. What have you seen from pa haz.

Speaker 10 (27:24):
A maturing, understanding, a better idea on first of all,
where to play hitters.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
I think he's still working on his jumps.

Speaker 10 (27:35):
One of the things that I talked about Andy Paiez
last year was the fact that he had when the
ball crossed home, played his right foot.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
In the air. Well.

Speaker 10 (27:42):
You can't move until your right foot comes back down
on the ground unless you're leaning in one direction. So
he's gotten that worked out. Dino Eables done a wonderful
job working with the outfielders on that end of it.
That has helped, in my opinion as a former center fielder,
has helped him to get better jumps. On balls, I'm
not sure. And how well he goes back on the ball.
I think he's going to improve more on going back

(28:04):
than coming in the other part about Ah in the outfield,
and I think, first of all, he's had a wonderful season.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
I agree one hundred percent he's going to get better.

Speaker 10 (28:14):
And I think with more playing time, he's going to
be able to differentiate the difference between throwing to the
second base bank or trying to get that runner at
third and the batter runner many many times has gone
not just stopping at first base, has gone to second
base as a result of throwing the third when you
don't really know the runner the speed and the jump,

(28:35):
and those are things that you learn as you're going along.
This is a very painful classroom. I've said it over
and over and over. Painful classroom at the Major League
Baseball And there are moments that it stands out that
you have made a mistake. It's going to happen, and
you're going to learn from those mistakes. And what I
see as a young player who is beginning to learn

(28:57):
and now has become instinctive instead of a thought process.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Was that on display last night when he threw out
Josh Naylor when cal Rawley was trying to tag up
but did not.

Speaker 10 (29:08):
Yeah, as it turns out, we understand that there was
an issue with the lego, so the runner is going
to third base. So and then you look at the
quality of the throw that he made. It was right
on the money.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
I mean it was.

Speaker 10 (29:19):
It was a perfect one. A couple of the things
that'd like to see him be able to understand. And
I think as a hitter he's made I think great
strides in the bolt away from him because if we
think back to last year, for example, he took a
lot of call strike threes on the outside corner.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
He didn't really know what the outside corner was. As
far as the strength zone. He's gotten better and better
and better.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
I let him know earlier today. I wasn't impressed. I
want to see more. And a couple of days ago
when he had three hits, I said, I'll only talk
to you if you have four hits.

Speaker 6 (29:49):
Yeah, well, you cracked a whip and you might be
considered a front run of it too. On top of him,
but I'm glad he brought.

Speaker 10 (29:55):
His name up because I agree one hundred percent is
and then you look what he's done offensively. I mean,
you don't get a lot of young players that come
on as he has. He inters tonight by the way,
he's vanning the four s five. But you know, twenty
seven home runs in eighty plus RBI is at this
particular point in his career, it's a very good stepping
stone for of what could be a very long major

(30:17):
league career for Andy.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Pye's all right, Rick, We'll check back in with you
and Tim Nevertt a little bit later, and always enjoy
this quality time we have with each other.

Speaker 6 (30:26):
Your time to lead, by the way, Okay, I.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Guess quality time's over. Tim, We'll send it back to you.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
It is over. Thank you, guys. Dodgers game plan brought
to you by your California community college. Financial aid is
available to help you with the tuition, help you with
the books, and sometimes even help you with the rent.
It's time to take that next big step. What are
you waiting for? Classes can fill quickly, so on roll
today and I can go to college dot com. Still
to come here on Dodgers on Deck, we'll dive deeper
into this pitching matchup with Tyler Glasstow on the mount.

(30:53):
But up next We'll go high and tight with Blake Trining.
It's the Dodgers and the Mariner first pitch at six forty.
I'm Tim Kats's world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (31:07):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on
jack On, the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Dodgers and Mariners on this Saturday night, Tyler Glass now
logan Gilbert. The pitching matchup Dodgers Baseball is brought to
you by our friends and Shanky's Pizza Parlor, the official
pizza partner of the Dodgers Audio broadcast. What are you
doing for dinner tonight? How about Shaky's When it's game night,
It's group night at Shanky's dot Com.

Speaker 7 (31:34):
And now what will likely be vast a fielding insults
from a Dodger player.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
It's an engagement of endearment.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
This is high and tight.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
I'm here with my favorite Dodger reliever, Blake trying in
even though the lefty Tanner Scott is looming nearby. I
did that to uh hurt him, but also full disclosure,
Blake Trenon's my guy.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Dave.

Speaker 15 (31:56):
Let's Skiff Tanner a little praise on how electric he
was last night. Apparently two pay day what's up with that?

Speaker 5 (32:01):
I do not have one.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
It looks a little suspicious.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
It's it's great Bosley magic right there.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Anyways, Baseball what we got.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
We're on the eve of Clayton Kershaw's last regular season start,
Blake trying in. What have you thought about just the
celebration of a guy that not only is a great
pitcher but a great person.

Speaker 15 (32:19):
I mean, you just kind of remember all the all
little things over the years, you know, like when I
signed here in twenty I remember vividly geting on the
phone and talking with a couple of different players from
different teams, and kursh was one of the guys that
I wanted to talk to and get a feel for
the culture of the Dodgers clubhouse. And it probably seemed
weird at the time, you know, being kind of like
a middle of the road guy that the Dodgers were

(32:40):
looking to bring in and help out, but it meant
a lot to me, you know, he took time to
get on the phone with me, and you know, ever
since so I've been able to watch a guy add
onto his career that I already knew it was a
Hall of Fame career, and he's added two World Series
trophies to his resume, and I think he's accomplished about
anything you can accomplish in this game a pitcher, and

(33:01):
he will go down as the best picture of my
my generation, in my era.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
And that's no slide against anybody else.

Speaker 15 (33:07):
But I don't think I've ever seen anybody have eighteen
years of just very.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Good, you know, pitching. You look at the statistics, there's
never been down here and it's a rare thing.

Speaker 15 (33:19):
So you know what he's battled through, you know, back arm,
the things he's gone through and grinded throughout his career
to compete and help his teams win.

Speaker 14 (33:30):
Like.

Speaker 15 (33:32):
It's it's pretty impressive. He's very diligent in his preparation,
and I think a lot of young guys have have
benefited from watching him.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
Blake.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
We're starting to hear more stories like yours that Clayton
has become a more inclusive teammate or has been an
inclusive teammate, even to guys that just show up for
you know, that ten day period. Is that something that
we're starting to appreciate how inclusive he is to the
twenty sixth man or a super reliever like yourself.

Speaker 15 (34:00):
Well, he's a starter and I'm a reliever, So I
can only speak from my experience and maybe experiences that
guys share with me. But I know he's got a
heart of generosity, and it does not surprise me if
those are the stories that are coming out saying that
he's really been impactful for guys who have been up
for a few days. I get to talk to some
of the young guys in the pen that have come
up this year and how he's been nice and.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Helped them out. So, Yeah, Clayton's a great guy. He's
going to be missing this clubhouse for sure.

Speaker 5 (34:25):
Lake Trenon has been such a big part of the
Dodgers two World Series championships in twenty and twenty four.
I wouldn't expect anything less this year. Do you feel
like things are starting to go in the right direction
for your bullpen? For yourself? It feels like everybody's head
is a little bit in a better spot.

Speaker 15 (34:43):
Yeah, I know, I know from a fan standpoint, you know,
all you guys out there listening, and it's a little
bit frustrating seeing things how they've gone this year.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
I promise you guys. It's not without effort.

Speaker 15 (34:53):
We're doing our best to get this thing righted and
I believe that this last like two weeks has been
really good for us. You know, even though like you'll see,
you know, a run here or there. Focus on the
little things and that's what we're focusing on. And it's
it's one of those things where you've got things that
you're accomplishing within the game to make.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
Sure that you're better prepared for the playoffs.

Speaker 15 (35:13):
So when we when we make a good run this postseason,
our goal is to put more smiles in LA than
frowns that have been you know, coming down lately. I
get it, fans, I totally get it. You have every
right to be frustrated that you know we're doing our best.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
I can tell you this talking to your teammates on
the record, off the record, they have never lost faith
in you or your bullpen.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
I haven't either.

Speaker 15 (35:36):
I think it's it's obviously the challenging part of being
an athlete is the ups and downs, but you know,
the downs make the ups so much better because if
you didn't have the contrast with the two, you wouldn't
appreciate your success and you know, I think, yeah, it's
it's like it's why you love and hate sports.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
You know.

Speaker 15 (35:52):
It's like if you only want all the time, then
you take for granted, you know, the things that the
success that you have, and and so like having a
little bit of sting kind of kind of pushes you
and encourage you in the right way to you know,
accomplish some great things. I ain't I truly I believe
we're in a better position this year to win a

(36:12):
World Series in a year past.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
And uh so we're excited.

Speaker 15 (36:15):
We got two more games here against Seattle and then
head back home and figure out who were matched up against. So,
uh yeah, it should be it should be interesting the
next couple days around baseball.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
Don't forget one thing I'm a big believer in resumes
local credibility, and Blake Trannon has built a lot of credit.
Don't ever forget who Blake Tranning is, and Blake trynon
don't forget who you are, and don't forget who Dave.
That's a that Kala the shot Kala. Blake will receive

(36:46):
a pair of Canaan world's best polarized sunglasses. Lanson's are
handcrafted in Japan, to be the clearest, lightest, and strongest
on the planet, whether you're on the water, the golf
course or on the mound. Canaan sunglasses are designed to
elevate your outdoor experience and give you true competitive edge.
See the difference at Canaan dot Com.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Yeah, there it is, people. You gotta plug. I'll get
us ten grand from Canaan after this for staying that online.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
Uh, it's just so Blake can have some sunglasses in
October at the parade.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
We'll send it back to you.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Tim under Durest. With Blake trying in his face, David
Vesse is able to get the READO. That is perfect,
all right, Thank you David. As we can catch you
down to first pitch coming up, we'll tip deeper to
this pitching matchup. Don't go anywhere. I'm Tim Kas' the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.

Speaker 7 (37:35):
This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers hunting on your home for
La Dodgers Baseball.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Dodgers at Mariners on this Saturday night. First pitch coming
up in six.

Speaker 7 (37:47):
Forty and now before the Dodgers hit the dining we
look at the pitching matchup.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
For present about your southern California. A Toyota dealers work hard,
play hard, and in a new Tacomo with an I
Force turbo charts engine. It's a truck built for the
your Toyota dealer Today, they make it easy. Logan Gilbert
on the mound of four the Mariners, twenty eight year
old right hander. Fifth year of the Big Leagues. He
has won his last two starts. Last time out six innings,
one run, three hits, four strikeouts in a win over
the Astros. Making his third career start against the Dodgers,

(38:15):
he's zero to two with the ten twenty four EER.
Tyler Glass now goes for the Dodgers four and three,
three thirty EER, a thirty two year old right hander
making his eighteenth start into Dodger uniform this year. Of course,
battled through some injuries on the il last time out
five innings, four runs, six hits, seven strikeouts, four walks
in a win over the Giants. In the month of
September three starts, he's three and ozer with the two

(38:37):
eighty nine ERORA and twenty two strikeouts. He has posted
a two seventy seven ERA at home this year, but
on the road, Tyler Glass now four fifty six, making
just his second start ever against the Mariners. One career
start came at T Mobile Park in July of twenty
twenty three. Win five and two third innings, three runs
on seven hits and eleven strikeouts. Tyler Glass now logan Gilbert,

(39:00):
Dodgers and Mariners. We're fifteen minutes away for first pitch.
Keys to the game. Our next I'm Tim Kas' is

Lead you up to first pitch from Seattle on this Saturday,
Game two of this three game set to wrap up
the regular season. Tyler Glass now logan Gilbert. The pitching
matchup from T Bowl Park. First pitch coming up at
six point forty. Before that, they'll all's head back out
to the booth one final time. Tim Neverett, Rick Monday, guys, Tam.

Speaker 8 (39:34):
Thanks very much as we get you ready for this
one between the Dodgers and the Mariners. Tyler Glass now
will make his final regular season start four and three
the record three thirty the era logan Gilbert is mound
opponent tonight and for glass Now, the Dodgers are looking
to perhaps shorten his outing tonight and not have him

(39:55):
go as long as he can, you know, as hard
as he can, for as long as he can. They
will probably shortened his outing tonight. It could be as
short as three innings, maybe four. It's just going to
depend on how the game goes. But they want to
keep him in a position where perhaps he could help
the Dodgers in the wild Card series. He wouldn't be
one of the starters because they're getting ready to announce

(40:18):
the starters I think in the next day or so.
Right now, they're playing that rather close to the vest.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
Well, he's been very good.

Speaker 10 (40:24):
You look at the three starts in the month of September,
he's three and oh era is under two point nine
and the batting average against in September just one forty eight.
So he is peaking at the right time. Going to
be interesting to see how his usage is kind of
dictated and where he might be pitching in postseason.

Speaker 8 (40:42):
Glas Now against Gilbert Tonight, Dodgers and Mariners, Game two
of the three game series, second to last game of
the regular season.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Tim all Right, first pitch coming up. Dodgers and Mariners.
The lineup, as they mentioned, looks a little different. No show,
Hey owed Tony. Tommy ad is leading off as your
designated hitter, Mookie Betts back at shortstop, Freddie Freeman back
at first base. At third base, it's Keith a Hernandez.
No Max Monsey missing the game again tonight. Remember Max

(41:10):
told David Vassie yesterday before the game not to worry.
He should be good to go for the start of
the postseason, which begins on Tuesday out at Dodgers Stadium.
Remember Dodgers dot Com to get your tickets. They're going fast.
Whoever the Dodgers may play, will it be the Reds,
will be the Mets, Well, they have not determined that. Still,
it's going to come down to the final game in
a half year, as both of those teams are in
action as we speak. Will keep you updated on that

(41:32):
as the night goes on. David Vassi's got your post
game with Dodger Talk as well. First pitch is next
Logan Gilbert Tyler Glass Now Dodgers and Mariners from the
