Speaker 5 (00:41):
Tim kays Hi, everybody, and.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Welcome into Morongo Casino Dodgers on that your official Dodger
pregame show as your world champion. Los Angeles Dodgers sit
all alone atop the NL West at eighty and sixty
four overall, one game up on the San Diego Andres,
with eighteen games to play here in the regular season.
(01:04):
The Dodgers won the finale of their East Coast road
trip on Sunday, and they won again last night.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Don't look now.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Dodgers have won two in a row, looking to make
it three straight tonight as they take on the Colorado Rockies.
Image sheen on the mound for the blue first pitch
coming up at seven to ten. Coming up over the
next sixty minutes here on Wrongo Casino, Dodgers on deck,
We're gonna hear from our Dodger insigner David Ves. He's
gonna go one on one with Kyle Carrolls. Yes, Rocky's
(01:33):
third Basement. Kyle Carrolls, the son of Dodger great Eric
Carrolson's coming up in forty five minutes. We'll hear from
Dodger manager Dave Roberts. That's coming up. In twenty minutes,
we'll preview this pitching matchup. We got your Dodgers magical Momo.
We got the latest Dodgers injury news. Shortly, we'll visit
with Kirsten Watson from Sports in La. She checks in
and in just a few minutes we head out to
(01:53):
the gallupin Motors Broadcast booth with Tim Nephett and Rick Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Well, last night we almost saw a know so again. Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
On Saturday in Baltimore, the Dodgers Yoshinobu Yamamoto took a
no hitter into the ninth inning, was one out away
from throwing a no no until Jackson Holiday broke that up.
Last night, we saw Tyler Glass now go to the
mound and he gave up a run in the second,
but it was a walk, a couple of fly ball outs,
a sacrifice fly brought in Kyle Farmer, and the Rockies
(02:23):
led one to nothing, but did not give up a
hit by giving up that run. In fact, Tyler Glass
now put up zeros through seven innings and then he
turned it over to the bullpen. But before that, though,
the Dodgers really struggled against Chase Dolander. David Veatse talked
about with us here on Dodgers on Deck yesterday the
era at home as opposed to the road, much better
(02:44):
away from Coors Field, and he was really good last night.
Five innings. He allowed just one run on one hit
while striking out five. The run he gave up came
in the sixth inning, Freddie Freeman doing the damage.
Speaker 7 (02:55):
And the pitch coming to Freddy. The swings hits a
bouncer over.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
The head of Farmer down a white field line.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
A base hit.
Speaker 7 (03:04):
Mark Bett comes into score around second and into third
is Otani and in the second is Freddy Freeman with
a game tying head.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
It's one to one.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Freddie Freeman delivering, he passes Derek Jeter on the all
time doubles list in Major League Baseball as he continues
to climb that ladder that tie the game at won.
Tyler Glass now went to seven innings, struck out eleven
no hits over those seven innings.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
He left in a one to one tie.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Bottom of the seventh, though the Dodgers got some traffic
on the bass pass for Mookie Bets.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
On hell Chevie's one two pitch to Bets look he swings,
He drives at the center field up base. Here Pa
has comes into score, rounding third iss Otani. He will
score and Bets with a two out, two run basehead
gets the Dodgers.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
A three to one lead, just what the doctor has ordered,
opportunity and then cashing them in and on a two
strike pitch, Chavi made a mistake. He got a breaking
ball looked like it was out over the plate and
the Dodgers take the lead.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Mookie Benz delivering with the RBI single would two outscoring
a pair of runs as the Dodgers go up three
to one and the no no was still in place
going to the eighth inning, Lake trying On in relief
in the eighth puts up a zero strikes out of batter.
He goes to the ninth inning, Tanner Scott on in
relief and Tanner Scott would end up giving up a
(04:33):
double in the ninth inning to Ryan Ritter.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
No hitter over that.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Is the top tier player of the game, brought to
you by Arco Quality, top tier guays for les as
the Dodgers, for the second time in three games had
a no hitter into the ninth inning, only to see
it broken up. But this time around, the Dodgers get
the win over the Rockies three to one is your final.
Tyler Glass now gets his first win since March thirty
first as the Dodgers pick up win number eighty on
(05:01):
this season, and tonight they give the ball to Emmett
Sheen to keep the winning going first pitch of seven ten.
With more, we head out to the Gaalpa Motors broadcast
booth as we say hello to Tim Neverett Rick Monday. Guys, Tim,
thank you very much. Another nice night here at Dodgers Stadium.
Another nice night for a win perhaps the Dodgers and
Rockies Game two of this three game series. Dodgers winning
three to one last night in interesting fashion, eight innings
(05:23):
of no hit baseball. It went away in the ninth
with a double by Ryan Ritter, but after that Tanner
Scott retired the next three and kept the Rockies scoreless
at that point.
Speaker 7 (05:33):
But they're running. The second inning was the difference. They
scored a run without the benefit of a hit. Tyler
glasnow seven hitless innings. He was dynamite and Blake Trining
was very good for one.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Well, who would have thought that two out of the
three games we're seeing a no hitter until the ninth
in He can't wait to see what we're going to
witness into night's game. Sheen is going to get the
starts for this Dodger ball club. But it comes down
to crunch time, Tim. We've been talking about it. Just
eighteen games left in the regular season schedule, nine of
those are at home, and the Dodgers have a one
game lead over the Pondres for first place in the
(06:07):
Nation League Western Division.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
Will Smith back in the lineup tonight? Ben Rohdvett, he
held his own as the starter there, forced into action
after Dalton Rushing had to be placed on the injured list.
And you think about Ben Rohortvett. He was behind the
plate for a great outing with Clayton Kershaw and then
almost had a no hitter with Yamamoto and almost had
a no hitter last night.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Good week for him.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Yeah, And we just talked here in the booth with
the catcher and had a pretty good track record. Also
he's been watching him. That's being a Steve Geger, the
former Dodger catcher, and he says, yeah, outstanding job brought
fit behind the plate and doing the catching and how
he worked, you know, all of a sudden. I mentioned
the other day he walked in with the name tag, Hi,
my name is and you pitch one fastball, curveball. That
(06:50):
was a very quick study. So we'll find out what
happens to night. Good to see Will Smith back in
the in the lineup. Also with Max Munsey. We saw
his return last night. It just had so much more
depth of this Dodger offense.
Speaker 7 (07:01):
Another roster move today to help out the bullpen, lefty
Alex Vesia has been activated, while Ben Casparius has been
optioned to TRIPAA Oklahoma City, So the Dodgers will get
another lefty in the bullpen as Vessia is back and
ready to go.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
Yeah, and speaking of the bullpen, you know we mentioned,
you know, the previous nine games. Coming into tonight's game,
the bullpen, we're twenty four to the third innings of
seventeen runs. But if we go back more, if we
look at the last fourteen innings, the bullpen has worked.
They have turned things around. Just four runs allowed in
those fourteen innings, So that's a big turnaround. And I'm
(07:37):
sure Dave Roberts has much more confidence now when he
points to the bullpen. This is a ball club. I
think they understand full well the significance of every not
just game, every inning, and every pitch and every swing
that's made.
Speaker 7 (07:49):
Right now, one guy that's turning things around Mookie Betts.
Over his last thirty games, he's hitting three twenty eight
nineteen runs batted in, and when Mooki drives in a run,
the Dodgers are thirty five and thirteen. He is swinging
a much better bat and he came up with the
clutch hit of the night in the seventh inning with
a two out, two run single.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Yeah, I think if we're looking that lineup too, not
only now with Otani, Betts and Freeman Freemantle bat of
the three spot in Smith number four and then followed
by Monsky. They hoped that obviously the Oscar Hernanez his
bat warms up, and then also Andy Pajis. They need
those two guys to really kind of supplement some of
this offense, and hopefully that's going to kick into gear
(08:29):
very very soon.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Emma Sheen against Herman Marquez as the Dodgers take on
the Rockies. Rockies last night with a one hundred and
fourth loss of the season, set a franchise record for
the most ever in Colorado history. Dodgers will look to
add to that loss total here tonight. Rockies are forty
games out of first place, Dodgers one game up in
the division.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Tim all right, thank you guys, as we count you
down to first pitch on this Tuesday night. Dodger fans,
what are you doing for dinner? Get your game day
meal on at Shaky's Pizza Parlor. You can word that
Shaky's Pizza Chick and Mojos right now at Shaky's dot Com.
Coming up here on Dodgers on deck. You'll here from
the manager, Dave Roberts. We will check in of course
with David vest Hey throughout the hour. We'll dive deeper
(09:11):
into this pitching matchup. But up next we'll get you
here Otani rewind and we'll visit with Kirsten Watson from
Sports net LA. That is all coming up as we
lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Rockies from
the ravine. I'm Tim Kasanksho being with us. It's the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Moroango Casino Dodgers on Deck you ten is on this
Tuesday and night leading up to Dodgers and Rockies from
Dodgers Stadium. Imache and Herman Marquez. The pitching matchup Game
two of this three game set. First pitch coming up
at seven ten.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
This is the Otani Rewhy.
Speaker 7 (10:00):
He is being held on by farmer at first and
should be. He's two to one pitch show Hey, swing's
rips at the right field. That's a bay set Hi
has on his horse. He'll turn second, go to third
show here around first, He's on his way to second
with a two out double runners at second and third
and two outs for Mookie Betts On a rocket of
(10:22):
a hit to right field by Show Hey Otani.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Twenty first double of the season for show Hey O'tani.
He would come around and score in the seventh inny
and as Mookie bets woul follow that up with a
two run single to give the Dodgers a three to
one lead. Show Hey Otani one for three with the
walk last night, now hitting two to seventy nine on
the season. As the Dodgers don't look now have won
two in a row.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
This is Kirston's corner with Kirston Watson.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Hey Kirsten now says from Dodger Stadium, brought to you
by Cars for Kids. Ready to donate that old car?
Of course you are call it seven to seven Cars
for Kids right now. Friendly agent standing by to take
your donation. That's car with the K to donate your
car today. Dodgers a little momentum. Two games in a
row they've won. They've almost thrown no hitters in two
of the last three games, which is pretty remarkable.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
But also getting healthy at the right time.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Kirris and we saw last night Max Munsey back in
the line They're a much different team with him back
in the lineup.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
And the bullpen is a lot different with Alex Vesia
now back.
Speaker 8 (11:21):
Yeah, exactly. And it doesn't really stop there because you've
got Alex Vesia today and then tomorrow is going to
be Tommy Edmund. So right now, this is where the
guys are getting healthier. Hopefully they can start building these
different wins. But with the return of Alex Vesia, he
just brings, yes, another lefty arm to the bullpen. Dave
Roberts was even saying, now they've got five lefties back there.
But he just he has been so effective this year,
(11:43):
so efficient and just a neutralizer on the mound. And
so I was talking to him earlier this afternoon because
he was dealing with an oblique injury similar to Max Munsey,
and he said he felt it in Colorado. Then when
San Diego, that's when he started speaking up about it.
And he's glad that he did because he believes that
he caught it really early. He was only down for
this what fifteen day I el stent and he was
(12:06):
able to use this time to one kind of clear
his head the usage for him because he has been
such a reliable arm this year had been very high.
There was a point in which he had the most
innings pitched like in the league out of the bullpen.
So for him just to be in a position now
where he's able to kind of had a mental reset
get back and going. He's excited to be back with
(12:26):
what his dog's in the bullpen. And he even said
that when you look at last year, they had some
you know, parts of the year they weren't winning everything. Yes,
they were doing very well, but some adversity that allowed
them to be successful.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
And so he believes that the adversard that they're.
Speaker 8 (12:39):
Dealing with right now, it will correct itself and they
are hoping to have a successful October.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Speaking of hope and Dodgers hoping to get another win
tonight and make it three straight.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Haven't said that in a long time.
Speaker 8 (12:50):
Yeah, And even Dave roberts Day was talking about that,
like just the focus of building on these wins. We
have seen excellent pitching as a la you mentioned it.
We've seen two no hitter bids in the last three games,
Yoshiobu in Baltimore and then Clayton Kershaw was really good
to close out that series in Baltimore to help pick
up the win for the team. And then yesterday with
(13:11):
Tyler Glass now being able to get through seven innings
of no hit work and passing it onto the bullpen,
allowing for Blake China and then for Tanner Scott just
to have positive outings coming off of what their last
head looked like. So right now, which is a matter
of continuing that, we saw the offense. Yeah, they got
going a little bit late, but we've been seeing some
quality at bats just kind of passing the baton, moving
(13:32):
runners over. So hopefully it's more of that that will
be key, because Dave Roberts did share that that's actually
very important. Right now, it's just building on each game,
looking to keep going and looking to continue winning because
every win truly does matter at the moment, no.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Dodgers need to start stacking these wins get a little
separation in the division now with eighteen games to go, Kiriston,
we appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Well, check in with you after the game.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Who knows, maybe we'll see another no hit bid tonight
by the Dodgers will dive deep of this pitching matchup
all week continue. David Basset will join us throughout the hour.
Up next, so your injury report and we'll hear from
the manager himself, Dave Roberts. Since the Dodgers and the
Rockies on this Tuesday night, First pitch at seven ten.
I'm Tim Kasey's the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on dech on your home
for the Blue all season.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Log Barrago Casino Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead
you out to first pitch from Dodger Stadium Dodgers and
the Colorado Rockies, Marongo Casino Resort and Spy Grand Slam
for good Times and it She and Herman Marquez is
the pitching matchup.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
First pitch set for seven ten.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
It's the LA Dodgers Injury Report presented.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
By UCLA Healthy Official medical partner the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Dalton rushing on the IEL with the right leg bone bruise.
It's gonna go out on a minor league rehab assignment.
The good news alex Vessia coming off the IL with
the right O injury. Ben Casparaus gets option to Triple
A Oklahoma City. Tommy Edmond on the il, but looks
like he'll be coming back soon, maybe tomorrow. Brock Stewart, Hey,
(15:09):
good news, he's gonna go out in a minor league
rehab assignment, start throwing. Maybe he can build himself up
and help out this Dodger team. In the late September
into October. Rookie Sasaki also building himself back up in
Oklahoma City. Let's head back out to Dodger Stadium as
we check in with the Dodger discoverer.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
The questions for Dave, Dave, can you just describe Dave?
Can you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts, You know, it was
it was tough.
Speaker 9 (15:37):
You know, I think that Ben has done a lot
of nice things for us, He really has, and he's
still a big part of what we're doing this year.
We just felt that obviously, getting Alex back it was
a tough decision, but getting Ben back to dominating right
hand hitters is something that we felt if we can
(15:59):
kind of get a chance to catch his breath, get
to Okac and you know, get back to that, he'll
be more helpful for us. You know, the rest of
the year and potentially throughout the postseason.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
When you look at just the last two wins.
Speaker 8 (16:15):
We've talked about the excellent starting pitching.
Speaker 10 (16:17):
As of late, but is there something right.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Now just kind of building wins for this roomas you
have to close out.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
The regular season.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Yeah, there is.
Speaker 9 (16:26):
You know, it seems like every night, you know, with
the probables, the starting pitchers, we've got a good one
going and another good one tonight. And you know, I
thought that yesterday. I just like the fight from our
guys and ultimately, it just doesn't matter how we get
it done. We just got to get a win. And
so I think that there's twenty six guys that understand that,
(16:49):
and so we're just trying to continue to build wins,
and you know, so that's a good thing. So I
think that that's kind of the goal in regardless of
how we get there.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Are the manager, Dave Roberts, you at this point, you
gotta put twenty six guys out there, who's healthy, who's
good to go, who's building up, and he'll be back
in October for a playoff run.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
We'll continue here.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I'm wrong with Casino Dodgers on deck and what we
do we check in with David Basse. They lead you
up to first pitch, Dodgers and the Rockies, Game two
of this three game set. Dodgers looking to win their
third in a row. Overall, I'm Tim Kates is the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on
deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
It's Dodgers and the Rockies imageen on the mound, trying
to keep the Dodgers winning street going. Currently sitting at
two in a row, looking to make it three straight. Tonight,
first pitch at seven to ten.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Joining Tim Kits on Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 5 (17:53):
This is Dodger insider David Basse.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
All right, DV Maximan see back last. Does he have
a little routine. It's different than what he had before
this oblique injury.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
What's going on?
Speaker 11 (18:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Big changed, Tim. You know, I was talking to Max
months earlier today in the clubhouse about a few different things,
and I was asking him about what the Dodgers talk
about around the cage. He said, I don't know, I
haven't been around. I said, well, you'll find out today, right,
because you're taking BP. He's like, no, I'm not taking
betting practice. I said what, No, he said, I don't
(18:28):
take betting practice with the rest of the team. I said,
wait what he said Yeah. Because of my oblique injury,
they thought it would be best for me not to
go out for betting practice early in the afternoon for
a seven ten game three point thirty and then cool
off and then get hot again. So to try to
prevent any sort of things going sideways with his oblique,
(18:51):
he takes betting practice once. He'll take his normal routine
of betting practice, but he'll do it around this time
to get ready for his seven to ten games. So
he's not taking batting practice with the rest of the
team the rest of the year because they don't want
him to heat up, cool down, and then heat up
again for the game.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Interesting, David is brought to by Ford. It's time to
see Ford kind of like you. Yeah, I only get
hot one time day if I can't do it exactly
too old, too old. It's time to see Ford in
a new light. Alex Vessia getting up there in age
but still a young guy at heart. The left hander
back David and good to have him back in the bullpen.
Speaker 9 (19:27):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
And talking to Jack Dryer, he said he was a
little bit lonely during this last road trip because Vessia
has really taken Dryer under his wing. He's his catch
partner since the beginning of the season, and he's happy
to have Vessia back and he is a huge boost
to the Dodger bullpen.
Speaker 12 (19:46):
Obviously, we're gonna take one one day at a time.
I'm happy to be back and you know that I
can contribute, and yeah, it's gonna be a fun couple weeks.
Speaker 11 (19:56):
Tiny good.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
You have enough time to sort of get out of
groove the playoffs. Would you have more time?
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Or has this got right?
Speaker 12 (20:03):
I think this is great, So yeah, I think it's
it's working out perfect. Obviously, my two rehaboutings that they
were good. Can feel like I threw strikes through my
off speed stuff well, and you know when I go
out there the next whether it's today or tomorrow, I
feel very prepared and ready to go.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Tim Alex Vesia, I've said this a few times, but
I feel like it bears repeating because I'm not sure
you realize how good Alex VESSI has been for the
Dodgers in the postseason. He's essentially the Key k Hernandez
of relief pitchers for the Dodgers. He's been really good
in the regular season, but in the postseason. Ever since
(20:42):
he got the opportunity coming over in twenty twenty one,
he's been exceptional. He's one of the top four relievers
in that bullpen. Is huge to have him back in time.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
No doubt about it. Damn real quick. Mookie Betts really
starting to eat up he is.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
I mean his ops now in the last month is
close to nine hundred. He has five home runs, nineteen RBIs.
So all of a sudden, now teams have to be
concerned with Mookie Bets hurting them last night, not with
the home run, but with a key two out, two
run single. This batting average is three twenty four in
the last thirty games, so he's Mookie Bets again, and
(21:20):
that is perfect timing as they go down the stretch
to secure the NL West and hopefully he carries into October.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
No doubt about David Gray Stuff will check back in
with you just a little bit still to come here
on Wrongo because you know, Dodgers on deck dv's gonna
go one on one with Kyle Carross. Yes, Errow, Carrols's son,
Dodgers facing the Rockies. That mean Carross is in town
as the Rockies. Third Baseball will dive deeper into this
pitchy matchup at Gords. But I'm next for Dodgers magical moment.
Big day in Dodger history happened today. That's next, Dodgers Rockies.
(21:49):
First pitch is seven ten. I'm Tim Kaysis, World Champion
Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
It's Dodgers and Rockies image She and Hermann Marquez a
pitching match up. First pitch of the Ravine set for seventeen.
Speaker 11 (22:13):
Dogs at a hot dog who wants a hot Dog?
Speaker 4 (22:18):
It's time for the Hawfy Magical Moment. Ditch Magical Magical
presented by Hawfey Hot Dogs.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Well today the sixtieth anniversary if you can believe that,
the sixtieth anniversary of the perfect game from Sandy Kofax
two and two.
Speaker 11 (22:36):
The Harvey Gane one strike away Sandy into his wind up.
Here's the pitch.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Swum not invest the perfect game.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
On the scoreboard and right field.
Speaker 11 (22:55):
It is nine to forty six pm in the City
of the Angels, Los Angeles, California, and a crowd of
twenty nine thousand, one and thirty nine just sitting in
to see the only pitcher in baseball history to herald
four no hit, no run games. He has done it
four straight years, and now he capped it on his
(23:19):
fourth no hitter. He made it a perfect game, and
Sandy Kofax, whose name will always remind you of strikeouts,
did it with a flourish. He struck out the last
six consecutive vatides. So when he wrote his name in
capital letters in the record books, that case stands out
even more than the Oufaax.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
The great Vin Scully with the calls sixty years ago. Today,
September ninth, nineteen sixty five, Sandy Kofax with the perfect
game against the Chicago Cubs. On the other side, Bob Henley,
by the way, a one hitter, struck out three, walked one.
It was a game that took an hour and forty
three minutes because both pitchers were on point that night.
(24:03):
Sandy Kofax was on point. No doubt with a perfect
game and a Dodgers won nothing victory on this date
over the Cubs sixty years ago. This Hofey magical moment
brought to by Hoffey hot Dogs Hoffey soak OU's local
treasure for nearly one hundred years.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Haffey hot Dogs local and so great.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
When we continue here on Dodgers on Deck, check back
in with Rick Monday and David vast say as we
lead you up to first pitch, I'm Tim Kaisi's the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on dech on your home
for the Blue all season long long.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Leading you up to Dodgers and the Rockies.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
On this Tuesday night, September ninth, Dodgers going to play
one game up with the San Diego Padres imageen on
the Mountain. Time now for the Verizon startup is we
are a little bit more than thirty five minutes away
from the start of the game. Now, Verizon, you ca
locking your low price for three years so you can
save big. Visit the Verizon store today.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
And now joined by David bas saying, here's La Dodgers
Broadcaster and World Series champion Dodger Rick Monday.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Rick, you've covered the game already, so you think we're
seeing another no hitter tonight.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Let me just ask you this winning your wildest dreams.
How many times do we say, look, you never know
when he comes to the ballpark what you're going to see.
And two of the last three games there's been no
hitters into the ninth inning. The possibility. The biggest thing
is good performance really on both sides of the baseball.
Again last night with this Dodger ball club, they're in
first place, and if we start to look at it,
you hear that clock ticking louder and louder because you're
(25:42):
just eighteen games left on the regular season schedule.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Now, the good news is the Dodgers are getting healthier.
They got Max month Seed back yesterday, Tommy Edmund coming
back tomorrow in Vessia is active tonight, and that's.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
A big, big deal because you know, when Will Smith
went down with the injury, we didn't know how long
he was going to be out. Same thing with Max Munsey,
because you're talking about a right oblique had been an issue.
He's a left handed batter, and that's the side of
your body that gets a lot of wear and tear
when you're swinging the bat. It's good to have him
back the second start speaking back. Had the pleasure of
(26:15):
meeting just a terrific family the other day coming into
the Dodger Stadium, the Moore family. And it's always nice
to meet Dodger fans, but I mean they're over and
above the mom and dad and two sons, and I
made a new friend, well with all four of them
to begin with, but young Ethan found out that Ethan
(26:35):
is here. He listens to just about every game. He
is a huge Dodger fan. I think he can probably
tell you how many times you're on the air and
postgame Dodger talk as well. So it's good to see them.
And I told him, look, stay tuned because I'm going
to say hello to you on Tuesday night. So to
Ethan and the more family, great to see you, Great
(26:55):
to be able to spend a few minutes with you.
And then as we were breaking up orl Hershei's was
walking into the stadium, so I had a chance to
talk to Oral as well. So it's good to have
family aboard. Because it's the old line. There's safety in
numbers and there's four more people in our corner.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Yeah, no doubt. And speaking of family, the Dodger family
is going to be honored in a few minutes here
yourself included the Dodger employees, longtime employees. And it's kind
of strange considering that you and Steve Jaeger left it
all out on the field, but our Dodger employees, and
that's where they start the counting.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
In matter of fact, as you came in for us
to do the segment, Steve was in your seat in
the chair and we were talking about old times and
talking about catching and hitting and everything else that goes
with it. You can remove the player from the field,
but you cannot take the baseball away from the player.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
And it feels like he's bounced back pretty well from
Dave Parker rolling him over back in the day.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
I sent him a couple of videos of that just
a couple of weeks ago. He sent back because how
in the heck are you finding these things? I said, well,
it's not painful for me either to find it. Maybe
painful for you to see because he took him and
when Parker ran into Steve Yeger, Jaeger was about ten
feet away from home plate when he finally landed Parker
(28:11):
six foot six, two hundred and sixty five pounds of
raw muscle, and he had a head start all the
way from second base and bulled Yeger over, and Yeager
held onto the baseball for the out.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Most important thing. That's what catchers care about holding that baseball.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
The other thing, too, is he got a tremendously great
throw from Reggie Smith and right field too.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, no doubt Reggie had a big arm, did any.
Speaker 6 (28:31):
Rick, Oh bigger than big.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
I was gonna ask you this. Since you don't get
to see your teammates as often as you used to do,
does it feel like you pick up where you left off.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Yeah. That's the nice things about friendships because you can
pick up and it doesn't matter. It's like going back
to your high school buddies. I do the same thing,
have a chance to sit down and talk to them,
and maybe we're able to break bread, have a lunch
or dinner together. It's like we're picking up in conversations
that may have seemed like the end of a few
years ago, but that's that's cold friendship.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, and the laps are always great between you and
Steve Jaeger. Hey, Rick, it feels like we always pick
up where we left off the day before.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
Don't push the subject.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
By the way, somebody called in last night to Dodger
Talk and we're complimenting our baseball acumen and this fan,
tell me what you think about this? This fan thought
I should manage the Dodgers. And I said, you know what, Yeah,
Rick Monday knows a lot. He could be my bench coach.
And she agreed.
Speaker 6 (29:28):
Oh and or hersh as she just walked in, because
I think he'll he'll have a dissenting vote on this.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Well, I don't want to get his or what do
you think.
Speaker 6 (29:36):
About David Vesse being a manager for one night?
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I can't get too close to him because I'm getting
sick and it would be terrible to lose him on
the air.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Oh gosh, Bulldog, we'll see you later.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
That thing's going around.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
We'll send it back to in the studio.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
All right, Thanks a lot of guys. That's a Dodger
game plan. What's your game plan? How about starting your
future to California Community college financial aids available to help
you with tuition booked, sometimes even the rent. Time to
take that next big step classes can fill up quickly,
so en roll today and I can go to college
dot com. Still to come here on Dodgers on Deck.
Who we're gonna preview this pitching matchup?
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Immit?
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Shean on the mound for the blue. Tim will be
back with Rick can get to those keys of the game.
But up next week, All high and tight with not
Eric Carrolls, Kyle Carrow's Rocky's third baseman, the son of
Ek next lead you up to first pitch.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
On this Tuesday night.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
I'm Tim Kates, World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
As we were saying, this is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on
Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
It's the Dodgers and the Rockies image She and Herman Marquez.
The pitching matchup, Game two of this three game set.
First pitch coming up in seven to ten Dodger Fans.
Dodgers Baseball brought to you by Shanky's Pizza Parlor, the
official pizza partner of the Dodgers Audio Broadcast. When it's
game night, it's group night. As Shaky dot com.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
And now what will likely be vast a fielding insults
from a Dodger player.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
It's an engagement of endearment.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
This is high and tight.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
All right. I'm joined right now by one of my
favorite caross My other favorite is Kyle's brother Jared. But
Kyle right now will have to do as local as
it gets. Miracosta High School, UCLA, A proud Bruin and
now doing his thing, reaching the dream here at Dodgers Stadium. Kyle,
thanks a lot for the time, appreciate it.
Speaker 10 (31:31):
Of course, happy to be here and sorry I couldn't
be Jared, but I do have my dad beat out
in your.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Standings, no doubt, no doubt you do. Don't ever forget it. Hey,
I was, you know. It's it's a little bizarre interviewing you.
You're taller than me now. Twelve years ago you were
this little kid showing up at Camelback Ranch and here
you are living the dream. Have you had that pinch
me moment yet?
Speaker 12 (31:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (31:58):
It definitely comes and goes. I always say, when I'm
actually doing baseball stuff, when I'm taking grounders, when I'm
playing in the game, and when I'm taking swings, it
feels normal. But all the stuff off the field, like
showing up and walking through these Gates coming to play
here instead of watching game all that stuff feels a
little different. But like I said, once I get going it,
it feels normal.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Your major major league debut in Arizona, you had your
family there, you got your first hit in RBI. Is
it the same feeling Coming to Dodger Stadium? Doesn't feel
like your major league debut all over again?
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yes it does.
Speaker 10 (32:31):
And I was joking around even the Dodgers series in Colorado.
I was joking around with Freddie and he said, dude,
just wait till you come to LA and play.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
That's gonna feel even different.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
And it does.
Speaker 10 (32:44):
Yesterday, I know I was going through my routine very
similarly to how I did it during my debut, just
kind of staying busy, keeping my mind off things. But
it definitely was a was a fun and it was
a second debut.
Speaker 11 (32:56):
In a way.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
I was giving your dad a hard time because he
showed up when you started take gunders and I said,
come on, you can't be this helicopter dad.
Speaker 10 (33:04):
We had that discussion before I showed up, because I
know he's normally on the field for BP, talking to
like the visiting team, doing stuff, and I had that
conversation when I said to dude, you can be down here,
but stay on the warning track. Do not come onto
the field. Don't come onto the bubble. And he couldn't
help himself. He was on our bubble. He was super involved,
and I mean I gave him. I gave him some
(33:25):
crap for it after, but it was it was all good.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
What was the drive into Dodger Stadium like? Because he
said he drove you here too, m M.
Speaker 10 (33:33):
I mean it was like any other drive, him playing
a lot of really bad music and me kind of
just going along with it. But yeah, we had some chats.
He kind of makes it more of a big deal
than I do. You know, I'm showing up to go
play a baseball game like I normally do. But he's like, dude,
it's pretty cool. He had his phone in my face
to begin the drive filming, like it was like it
was some special day, which it was a special day,
(33:55):
but like I said, in my mind, it's just sum
showing up and I'm doing my job here.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
How much of your crew did you have at Dodger
Stadium last night?
Speaker 10 (34:02):
It was more than I anticipated.
Speaker 12 (34:04):
I know.
Speaker 10 (34:04):
I left a couple of tickets for my close friends,
but my parents went kind of overboard with it, and
they they had a lot of their close friends in
attendance too, and then they were all down on the
field after the game, so it was it was fun.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Kyle Carros is our guest in front of first pitch
at Dodgers Stadium. The guy on the mounta tonight is
the guy you hit your first major league home run against.
When you hit that ball at Corsfield, obviously it's Corsefield,
but did you feel like it was going.
Speaker 10 (34:32):
I buried it pretty good, and I was joking with
emmittt after the game. We saw each other in the tunnels,
and I was just thankful he threw me a change
up because I was having trouble with his slider that
night and he hung me one.
Speaker 5 (34:42):
So we had a good laugh.
Speaker 10 (34:44):
But he's great. He did a great dude, great pitcher.
I'm excited to battle with him again tonight.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
How familiar are you with guys like Emmitt Shean or
Dalton Rushing playing against each other in the miners and
then the veterans that you knew being around the team.
Speaker 10 (34:58):
Yeah, and I think my brother all so it was
a big reason I'm close to a lot of these guys.
You know, He's super close with them coming up through
the minor leagues, and they naturally follow along with what
I'm doing. But it was funny my first first day here,
I went down downtown Manhattan Beach to grab a coffee
and I ran into Kershaw, Sheehan and Robleski down there.
(35:19):
That's your turf, Yeah, exactly, they were in my stomping grass.
But I think Kersh is living down there, So that
was a funny run in. I said, see it at night,
could lock blah blah blah, But it was cool. I'm
I got a good relationship with most guys over there.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
So since you brought up Manhattan Beach, I mean Paisano's
and your Dad's anonymous for Kyle Karros and Jery Carros.
When you guys are in that grind of the baseball season,
what place do you miss the most.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Of hitting Shellback Tavern?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
I love that place too. Yeah, no, that's a good
sport trendsle Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
No, we'll be we'll be there.
Speaker 10 (35:53):
Here in a couple of weeks during our off season.
But no, there's a ton of great spots. That's my home.
It'll always be my home. I love Manhattan Beach. Honestly,
probably the best spot is just on the sand and
in the water, but shell Back is close second.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Are you a big surfer? You and Jared surf a lot.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Yeah, we do.
Speaker 10 (36:10):
That's our off season activity. I don't know how his
injury's going to play role in that. I think he's
going to be on the on the beach while me
and my buddies are surfing. He'll just be watching. But yeah,
that's a great, great activity, super fun to paddle out
with my brother sometimes and my close friends.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
By the way, before I let you go, you went
first to third on the Dodgers at Coursefield. I never
saw your dad do that. Your wheels are ten times
better than his ever work.
Speaker 10 (36:35):
I got a better wheels, better glove, and I'm going
to have a better bat. Just give me it, give
me a couple of years.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Oh, I love it. Kyle, thanks a lot for the time.
We're all so proud of you and obviously rooting for
the Dodgers, but rooting for Kyle Carrows to have a
big night. Thanks a lot, Thank you very much. And
Kyle Carroll's our guy. Don't let his dad get this,
mister Travis Matthew himself. You'll receive a gift card to
travel Matthew. You can get twenty percent off your first
(37:03):
order if you sign up for email. Stay away, Carros.
This one's got it all right.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
There is Kyle Carroll's starting third basement for the Colorado Rockies.
Kyle Carroll's former Mira Coast to standout UCLA Bruins, fours
up for him and now a star in the big
leagues in his career, just getting going.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Lead you up to first pitch Dodgers and Rockies.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
When we come back, we'll talk about this pitching matchup
and the guy on the mountain, Kyle Carroll's gonna face
don't go anywhere. I'm Tim Kasy's world champion Los Angeles
Dodgers audio notes.
Speaker 4 (37:36):

Speaker 1 (37:45):
First pitch from the Ravine on this Tuesday night, coming
up at sevent ten.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
And now before the Dodgers hit the dinack, we look
at the pitching matchup.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Heres it about your outh of California. Toyota Dealers.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Work hard, play hard in a New Tacomo with an
IFS Turbo Chargs is a truck built for the bowld
Sere Toyota dealer.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Today they make it easy.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Nothing's been easy for Haman Marquez. Three and twelve with
a six nineteen ERA. The thirty year old right hander
out of Venezuela in his tenth season now the Big Leagues,
all with the Rockies. Making his twenty third start last
time out, five innings, four runs, eight hits in a
no decision against the Giants. Hasn't won a game since
June eighteenth. He is three and seven with the four
nineteen ERORA and nineteen career starts against the Dodgers at
(38:25):
Dodger Stadium. This is his eleventh start. He's three and
fourth of three to ninety seven RRA. Dodgers faced him
back on April sixteenth at the Ravine. He allowed seven
earned runs in two thirds of an inning. Imagein on
the Mount. Twenty five year old right hander five and
three three fifty nine ERRA last time out, four and
two third innings and a loss of the Pirates. Facing
the Rockies for the fourth time in his career, he's
(38:45):
three and zero against them, but all three starts have
been on the road at course Field.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
This is his first time facing them at Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Dodgers Rockies Imagian Hedman Marquez a pitching matchup on this
Tuesday night as we're fifteen minutes away for first pitch.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Keys to the game are next. Don't go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I'm Tim kas Is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on Tap on your Home
for the Blue All season.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Law AND's the Dodgers and the Rockies on this.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Tuesday nine A M and She and Hammon Monic Quay
is the bitching matchout. First pitch coming up at seven ten.
The Boys in Blue have been real good at Dodger
Stadium this year. It's important they have a game plan
when they protect their house at Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Same applies to your home. Always have a plan.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Follow fire safety tips, especially now in the fire season.
Before set up a campfire, please make sure to get
a permit from CalFire, check your local restrictions. Know how
to properly set up a campfire, extinguish it using that
drowned stir and field method. Always have a water supply
nearby and shovel to extinguish your campfire properly. Maintain your
car breaks so there's no metal to metal grinding or
(39:56):
contact that can cause a spark and start a fire. Please,
it's a very important to learn about these tips and
to find out others. Visit fire dot ca A, dot gov.
All right, back out to the ravine in the booth
one final time before first pitch, Tim never Rick Monday, Guys.
Speaker 7 (40:10):
Tim, thanks again, getting you ready for Game two the
Dodgers and the Rockies. Herman Marquez three and twelve with
a six nineteen earned run average and that she and
five and three three five nine ERA. Shean has started
three games against the Rockies, all in Denver, and he
has won all three, so this will be the first
time he has started against the Rockies at Dodgers Stadium. Meantime,
(40:33):
Herman Marquez, he's O for his last seven starts and
this year alone against the Dodgers, he's zero to two
with an ERA of thirteen and a half.
Speaker 6 (40:43):
She and Tim, when we've seen him come out and
be aggressive, he's been very, very good. You have those
numbers in Denver, in that ballpark, those are outstanding. If
we look at Marquez, he always made nineteen career starts
against the Dodgers. Ten of those are here at Dodgers Stadium.
We're here. He's three and seven with an ERA over
four Dodgers. Hopefully he can raise that era a little
(41:04):
bit more tonight.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
And for Marquez career against the Dodgers, nineteen starts, three
and seven and in the ARA of four nineteen, just
he's been battered around by the Dodgers. Dodgers hope to
do it again tonight with Marquez. So that's the pitching
matchup as we count you down to the first pitch
here at Dodgers Stadium, Dodgers and Rockies Game two coming up, Tim.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
All right, Dodgers keeping an eye on what's happening around
Major League Baseball, especially down in San Diego as the
Padres are taking on the Cincinnati Reds. Don't look now,
Will Benson just hit a solo home run Reds a
two nothing lead over the Padres as a bat in
the top half of the second, and he.
Speaker 5 (41:44):
Will keep an eye on that.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
David Veastiate's got you covered with all the postgame when
this is over. As the Dodgers going to play one
game up in the NL West at eighty wins on
the season first pitch from.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
Dodgers Stadium is next. Enjoy it.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
This has been Morongo Casino Dodgers on Tech on the
world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (42:00):
Oh, you know what
