Golden my god, it's Tim Case. Hi everybody, and welcome
in to Morongo Casino Dodgers on Deck. I am Tim Kase.
They're Los Angeles Dodgers back in the Fall Classic. Back
home at Dodger Stadium, Game three of the twenty twenty
five World Series as they look to defend their World
Series championship, tied at a game of piece with the
(01:08):
Toronto Blue Jays tonight, Dodgers back home for Games three, four,
and five tonight Tyler Glass now gets to start. First
bitch from Dodgers Stadium is coming up at five oho
eight and what should be an electric Dodger Stadium crowd
which is starting to file in. We got pregame ceremonies
coming up in just a little bit. Coming up here
on Morongo Casino Dodgers on deck, you are gonna hear
(01:30):
from the manager, Dave Roberts. We'll preview this game three
pitching matchup with forty one year old Max Scherzer on
the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays. David Vassa goes
one on what would Blake Snell? We got your Dodgers
magical moment. David Vassain joins us throughout the hour. Of course,
shortly we visit with Kirsten Watson from Sports at LA
and in just a few minutes we'll send it over
(01:52):
to the Galpin Motors broadcast booth with Steven Nelson and
Rick Monday.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
The Dodgers were last in action on Saturday night in Toronto,
a pitcher's duel for most of the game between Yoshinobu
Yamamoto and Kevin Gosman. They went toe to toe for much.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Of the night.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
The Dodgers' offense started off well, went to sleep, and
came back with the flurry late. It all started in
the first with two outs for Will Smith.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Will Smith talking to the media before today's game. Shit,
they're just waiting for that guy to come through with
a big hit in a big spot.
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Can he be that guy? In the first inning?
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Round ball base hit center field. Freddie Freeman's gonna wheel
around and score back to back two out hits for
the Dodgers give them the first lead in Game.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Two, and the guy that says we're gonna be looking
for the guy to do it does it. Here in
the opening frame.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Will Smith delivers two out RBI single. Dodgers grabbed the
early one, not the lead. Yoshinoba Yamamoto got himself into trouble,
leadoff double, then a single. He had runners at first
and third, nobody out, but got a pair of strikeouts,
including Dalton varshow to get out of the jam twenty
three pitches in the first inning. Once he got past that,
he was lights out. He gave up a sackfly on
(03:03):
the third, but that was in as far as damage.
He would go on and retire the final twenty batters
that he faced on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Dodgers and
the Blue Jays tied it one going to the seventh inning.
At that point, Kevin Gosman had retired seventeen in a
row against the Dodgers. When Will Smith changed all.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
That, Gosmin's payoff and Smith turns.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
On the ball deep left field. Will it stay fair?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
It's gone, Wong, I'm going into the second deck for
Will Smith.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
And Gosmin tried to come inside on Will Smith, which
is exactly what we said when he came back with
a fractured right hand. Would they try and pump the
ball inside? Tie him up? Knowing it's still painful to
swing the bat. Well, it's painful to watch the swing
of the bat and the ball go over the fence.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
On number sixteen for the Dodgers hitting a home run
in Canada, uh oh two to one.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
La oh.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Last time we saw that was nineteen eighty one and
our own Rick Monday with the home run against the
Montreal Xpos. That is a top tier play of the game,
brought to you by Arco Quality, top tier gas for less.
Max Munsey would hit a home run as the lid
was lifted on the Dodgers offense, they'd get to the
Blue Jays bullpen for two more in the eighth. Dodgers
go on and beat the Blue Jays five to one
to even up this best of seven series. Yoshinobu Yama
(04:25):
Moto absolutely fantastic. A complete game for a hitter, eight strikeout,
zero walks, the second complete game in a row for Yamamoto,
the first pitcher to do that in the postseason in
Major League Baseball since Kurt Shilling did it in two
thousand and one, the first pitcher in general to throw
a complete game in baseball since twenty fifteen, and Johnny
(04:46):
Quato with the Kansas City Royals. You get my point.
Doesn't happen very often, and it's happened twice this postseason
for Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Tonight, Game three of the World Series.
Tyler Glass now on the mound, first pitch at five
eight and with more we'll throw it over to the
Galpin Motors broadcast with with Steven Nelson and Rick Monday.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Guys, Tim kats We are back at Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 6 (05:08):
Games three of the World Series.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
The Dodgers and Blue Jays tied at one the next
three games here at home, and Rick Monday, Keith k
Hernandez said after Game two, hopefully just three more games left,
but that is a tall task and you can't win
all three unless you win the first one. Happy to
report that everybody with the Dodgers made it back to
la in one piece, barely.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
But what are you thinking ahead of this one? With glassdown?
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Shows are on the bump, you know, there are rides
at amusement parks, you know, and as slated the wild Ride,
well that's just about what it was, all four planes,
as we might add. So yeah, that's that's the way
the Dodgers are hoping. Quite frankly, they did not have
to go back to Toronto, but did not sell the
Blue Jay short. We've been talking about this. They're a
very talented team. That's why they're hearing the World Series.
(05:56):
There are twenty eight teams. Folks setting at home and
wondering how these two teams are as good as they are,
that play as well as they do, and wishing that
they were here. But they're not. They're listening to it,
they're watching it and dreaming about, well, maybe next time
they might be involved. This is a this is kind
of a push and shove and that everybody has a
counter move. For example, tonight, Max Scherzer is going for
(06:19):
the Dodgers. He used to be here. He understands some
of the thought process of some of the hitters. Well,
it's one of those things I know that you know
that I know. And therefore, and you fill in the
dotted line, this is baseball, and we can give numbers,
we can recite them for the next hour and a half.
It doesn't mean a darn thing because that's in the
past and tonight is tonight.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
It could be the final start of Max Scherzer's for
ja Hall of Fame career. He has not, like Clayton Kershaw,
made his future intentions known publicly just yet. But for
the Dodgers, you know, they have performed really well here
at home, just as the Blues Jays did throughout the
regular season. The Dodgers were right on their heels in
terms of best record in baseball in their home ball park,
and they have particularly taken care of business here at
(07:03):
home in the postseason. Eleven or fourteen games they have
won here at Dodger Stadium going back to last postseason,
and again to your point that doesn't really mean anything.
So I guess what's top of mind for you with
this night's matchup specifically, like take us between the lines.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
I think, first of all, it's the same lineup, but
it has been adjusted as far as the order, such
as Max Munsey will batted the number five spots. You
Oscar Hernanez has moved down to the sixth po Okay, fine,
Andy Bajs, there was some speculation would he be in
the lineup, would he not be in the lineup. Well,
he is the lineup, and if we go back to
game too, he had a couple of good advants. One
(07:39):
of the base hit, the other one preceding that base
hit was a line drive out to right field, and
I think that he's the perfect guy to get in there.
It may not work out, however, here's an interesting number
on Andy Pajis. If we look at Shersey and we'll
talk more about him a little bit later. On Scherzer
is very adept in throwing the curveball and the slider,
very little banning average against well, if we're looking at Pias,
(08:02):
you know, against right handed breaking balls. This year he
had the ninth highest average in Major League Baseball, almost
a two to ninety average that would fit into his siteline.
The question is does he have the swing that he
trusts We haven't not seen it really until Game two
of this the postseason.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Tim as who get it back to you one final
nugget of history and best of seven postseason series tied
at one apiece, the Game three winner has gone on
to win the series nearly seventy percent of the time.
And again, as Mo would say, that was then, this
is now Game three of the World Series. Will be
back a little bit later with the key.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
All right, thank you, Nelli, as we cut you down
to first bitch. On this Monday night, Dodger fans, get
your Game day meal on at Shaky's Pizza Parlor. Order
your Shakey's Pizza, check in and mojos right now at
Shaky's dot com. Coming up here on Morogo because you
know Dodgers on deck. You're gonna hear from the manager
of South Dave Roberts. We'll check out with David veasse Ur,
(08:59):
Dodger Insider. We'll hear from Blake Snell, the Game one starter.
He'll be back in this series, no doubt for Game five.
We also got your Dodgers magical moment. Kirston Watson from
Sports and at LA will stop by. That's all coming
up as we lead you up to Game three on
the twenty twenty five World Series from Dodgers Stadium, Dodgers
and the Toronto Blue Jays. First Bitch at five oh eight.
(09:22):
I'm Tim Katson. This is the world champion Los Angeles
Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
Fuck.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
This is Morono Casino Dodgers Hunting game on your home
for LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
It's the Dodgers and Blue Jays Game three of the
World Series from Toronto. Tyler Glass now Max Scherzer the
bitching matchup. First Bitch from Dodgers Stadium is coming up
at five oh eight.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson and.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Kirston An Joys is brought to you by Cars for Kids.
Ready to donate that old car? All eight of and
seven cars were kids friendly agents standing by to take
your donation. That's Cars with the K to donate your
car today. It's already electric here at Dodger Stadium. The
crowd ready to go. They got here early. Dodger Stadium's
got a buzz here for Game three as the Dodgers
(10:16):
come back tied at a game apiece, maybe build it
on that game to win.
Speaker 8 (10:20):
Yeah, and you know, I think I have to say,
this is not a buzz, This is like insanity.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Here at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 8 (10:26):
It is electric. And look, it's the World Series. This
is what you expect. I will say. When the team
was in Toronto, the Blue Jays fans, they showed up,
they were loud, they did everything they needed to help
their team get that win in Game one.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
For the hope is the.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
Dodgers and their fans can do that here today at
Dodger Stadium. But they feel really good. Whether it was
watching Yoshiobu through another complete game, just the fact that
we can say that in the postseason is insane. He
was I was talking to Max Munsey about this yesterday,
and there is something that a picture can do. You
often talk about the already pictures utting the tone.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
So today that would be Tyler Glass now.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
But how Yoshi Nobu carried them in that game, How
the game of the time for the offense to get
back on track, they could make the adjustments to get
to Kevin Gosman there in that seventh inning. So there's
something that Yoshi did kind of sparked something with this group.
So hopefully they come back to Los Angeles they can
get things going.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Tyler Glasnan feels really good.
Speaker 8 (11:21):
He actually has a lot of familiarity with the Blue
Jays just from having obviously paint played in the American
League in the past. So he feels good. And yeah,
he's back here. He's playing for his childhood team and
he wants to get something going at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
The Dodgers have been in a World Series an awful
lot the last ten years, five appearances for which the
fans were allowed at. I don't think I've seen it
this energized Dodger Stadium before a home World Series game.
That much being said, there's a lot of media here
as well. Okay, I'm gonna be walking around this Dodger
Stadium for nineties. I don't have a seat.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Wait.
Speaker 8 (11:53):
You know what's funny. When I got onto the field today,
I was like, who are these people? Well that, but
also this feels crazier than last year.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
No, it does, but okay, thank you.
Speaker 8 (12:06):
That's what I was saying. Now, I do understand because
it is La Canta Toronto, but because Canada does have
its own TV rights. That does add a whole new
broadcast team. But like, no, this feels so much crazier
than last year. And I was talking someone from MLB
and they were comparing this to the All Star Game,
(12:26):
in the All Star Game here and what that was
twenty twenty one, right, So but then with the All
Star Game you had all the chairs on the field,
So that's what made it feel crazier. No, this feels
like mayhem. We've got I don't know what it is.
Maybe because it's the history went back to back. Obviously
there's so much to it. But this is a very
good series as well. But no, I'm with you and
(12:49):
I don't have a seat as well.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I guess we'll walk together.
Speaker 8 (12:52):
Maybe we should go to the Maybe we should go
to the home run seats and see if we can
catch a home.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
So I'm not sweating. I'm good to go. Oh I'm
eating good tonight.
Speaker 6 (13:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Heres will check it with you after the game is
still to come. Here, I'm Wrongo Casino Dodgers on deck.
We'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup. David bat Sego's
one on one with the game one starter Blake Snell.
But up next we'll hear from Dodger manager Dave Roberts.
That's all coming up, Dodgers and Blue Jays, Game three
of the World Series from Dodger Stadium, first pitch and
five o eight. I'm Tim kas Is the world champion,
Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on deech. I'm your home
for the blue all.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Season loss, Morongo Casino Dodgers on deck continues as we
lead jump to first pitch on this Monday night. It's
Game three of the World Series, Dodgers and the Blue Jays,
Morongo Casino Resort and spomp a Grand Slam for good times.
Tyler Glass now Max Schuzer. The pitching match up, first
pitch coming up at five o eight.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
Anything for Dave, Dave? Can you just describe Dave? Can
you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
What does it say about Mookie not just as a player,
but as a person now that he's now a Roberto
Clemente Award winner.
Speaker 9 (14:17):
Well, this is a huge honor. I think every athlete
will say. There, you know, people first and playing baseball
is what he does for a living. But you know,
a humanitarian award like this and to be recognized, you know,
to get this Roberto Clemeny award is quite the achievement.
(14:38):
Give MOOKI I give Brie his wife a lot of
credit their foundation, and to be able to balance and
prioritize on the field performance with off the field impact
is pretty amazing. And I think he's the fourth Dodger
to ever receive this award. So just tip of the captain, Mookie.
Speaker 10 (14:59):
We'll stay over there, Doctor Dave, You guys were able
to beat Max in early August, but he did go
almost one hundred pitches six innings. Are you comfortable with
what you've done so far in this series in terms
of your at bats to maybe get to him a
lot earlier than what you did in that particular game.
It seems he's been the most acceptable to getting beat
(15:19):
early in games.
Speaker 9 (15:21):
You know, that's sort of you know what people say.
I guess is you know, Max has had some struggles early,
but this guy's a great competitor. He's going to make pitches,
and I think the key for all of us is
there's just got to be relentless at bats. One through
nine and you know, he's going to look for spots
to sort of catch his breath, manage his pitch count.
(15:43):
But I do believe that if we can continue to
stress him, keep having to make pitches, and he's going to,
you know, revert to the secondary as the slider to
the curveball when it gets hot, and we just got
to be willing to kind of grind him. And if
we can do that, I like our chances. But again,
we got a tough task. He's a big game pitcher
(16:03):
and he knows our guys as well as we know him.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Second row your.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Left Babean, Yeah, Dave, what ultimately lets you want to
keep pies in there in center?
Speaker 6 (16:12):
And what what can he do better?
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Especially against some of the fastballs he's been seeing.
Speaker 9 (16:17):
I think that I actually think the last couple of
games he's taken better at bets. You know, we all
talk about the three to chase, you know, with the
bases loaded in the first game, but I think in
totality that that's have been better. I think for me,
I just want to see him continue to fight and
compete against Max. You know, I want to keep betting
(16:41):
on him. I'm not saying that you know, it's in perpetuity.
But but tonight I'm gonna bet on him, and if
until I don't, but I do think that the outfield
defense matters, and I think he's playing, you know, good
outfield defense in center field, and the work has been good,
his head has been good good, and you know, I
(17:02):
think the demeanor, the mindset is still consistent for me
to bet on.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
All right, there's a.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Manager, Dave Roberts, talking with the media just a little
while ago downstairs here at Dodger Stadium. When we continue
here on Morocco Casino, Dodgers on deck, we will check
you with the David vassa is the ground screw gets
the field ready and they get set up for a
great pregame ceremonies that's gonna get into ways shortly, both
introductions of the Blue Jays and the Dodgers along the
first base at third base line, then the flyover ceremonial,
(17:31):
first pitch, and of course the national anthem being performed
by Brad Haisley tonight country superstar. Next though, David Vassay,
as we lead you up to first pitch, Dodgers and
Blue Jays, it's Game three of the World Series from
Dodger Stadium. I'm Tim Kasey, is the world champion Los
Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
As we were saying, yes, is Morongo Casino. Dodgers on
jack on the official home of LA Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
It's Dodgers at Blue Jays, Game three of the twenty
twenty five World Series. Tyler Glass. Now, Max Sure's are
the bitching matchup? Coming up? Will dive deeper into this
bitching matchup. We'll hear from Blake Snell coming up in
about twenty minutes, but.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
First joining Tim Kats on Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 11 (18:23):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
This is Dodger insider David Basse, all right.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Dv V.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
In a few moments, the Dodgers and Blue Jays will
be introduced along the third base and first base line.
We may hear a lot of a lot of booze
coming up because there's two unpopular Blue Jays back at
Dodger Stadium tonight.
Speaker 11 (18:41):
Yeah, let's start with the Blue Jays leadoff hitter, the
World Series MVP from the Astros in twenty seventeen, George Springer.
He is back here at Dodgers Stadium in the Fall
Classic for the first time since Game seven of the
twenty seventeen World Series. There is no doubt Dodger fan
have not forgotten that the Astros were proven to be
(19:03):
cheating during that World Series, so Dodgers Stadium should definitely
make him hear it. And also Max Scherzer, who tapped
out on the Dodgers during the twenty twenty one NLCS
Game six where you know he had free agency looming
and it appeared that he decided to point to Walker
Buehler to go on three days rest, and a lot
(19:25):
of Dodgers have not forgotten that. So I'm here to
keep the receipts, and Dodger fans certainly should make this
a very hostile environment for both of those two Blue
Jays Love.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
It David is brought to you by the twenty twenty
five for f one to fifty from California's best selling
truck brand is Time to see Ford in a new light.
Will Smith two for four three RBIs in Game two
kind of feels like Will Smith is a healthy Will.
Speaker 11 (19:50):
Smith now, Tim It feels like we all forgot about
the fact that Will Smith had a fractured right hand
coming into the postseason. And power through it, even though
he was dealing with pain in his right hand. In
Game two of the World Series in Toronto, he hit
his first extra base hit of the postseason. That's a
(20:13):
great sign for the Dodgers and a great sign that
his right hand is strong enough to be able to
be the old Will Smith he had been playing, but
obviously a lot of singles and not a lot of power.
That's a great sign for the Dodgers for the rest
of this World Series. And I'm sure there's some level
of pain there, but it's an adjustment period I've been
(20:36):
told for a player that has that type of injury,
and also to get that strength back in that right
hand has been a process. And Game two's home run
certainly is a sign that his right hand is as
close to one hundred percent as it's been in the
last two months.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Then what was the vibe on the field today? Certainly busy,
a lot of MLB people, a lot of media out there.
What was the vibe you got from the field today.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Tim, I can tell you this.
Speaker 11 (21:07):
As far as the field environment before the game here
at Dodger Stadium compared to Toronto, there was a lot
more star power here at Dodgers Stadium, and rightfully so.
Right Albert Poolhols had a chance to catch up with him.
He has interviewed with the Padres to be their new manager.
He is part of MLB Network. Junior Caminero, who homered
(21:31):
against Blake Still in Tampa and last year homer twice
here at Dodgers Stadium, is one of the brightest young
stars in Major League Baseball. Is here you saw Sean Green,
Brad Paisley, our guy is performing the national anthem, and
Hideo Nomo is throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. The
tornado is going to be out here at Dodgers Stadium,
(21:53):
So it's going to be an electric atmosphere as we
get close to the first.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Pitch looking for to it it is gonna be a
great Game three as Tyler Glassnew gets him out real quick, Dave,
Tyler glass Now has been great in the postseason. We
expect more of the same. To me, mean, it seems
like he's dialed in tonight.
Speaker 11 (22:12):
Yeah, I mean this plays into glass Now's favor. The
start time of five o'clock. Right now as you look out, yes,
the field, the infield is covered in shadows. But if
you look out to that batter's eye and straightaway center field.
It's drenched in sun, and that should be the case
during the top of the first inning. The ball, from
what I've been told from Andre Ethier, Max Munsey and
(22:34):
Mark McGuire, in this type of setting, you can't see
the seams.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
It's just a great object.
Speaker 11 (22:41):
And that's a tall order for the Blue Jays in
the top of the first inning when ninety eight miles
an hour is coming at you. And the Blue Jays
are really good at hitting non fastballs, they.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Don't handle ninety eight very well.
Speaker 11 (22:53):
So glass now certainly has a significant advantage in the
top of the first inning tonight, well or.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
About forty minutes away from first pitch, David great Stuffle
check back you with you in just a little bit
still to come here. I'm wrong Becauseino Dodgers on deck.
We hear from Charlie Steiner. But up next we'll get
you your Dodgers Magical moment. Dodgers Blue Jays, Game three
of the World Series. First pitch and five. Oah wait,
I'm Tim kats Is the world champion. Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
This is Wrongo Casino Dodgers Huntings on your home for
La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
It's the Dodgers and the Blue Jays, Game three of
the World Series from Dodgers Stadium. Series tied at the
Game of Peace Tyler Glass. Now Max Sure's of the
Bitching Magic will dive deeper into the numbers for both
these guys coming up in just a few minutes. But
first I do.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Who wants the hot It's time for the Hawfy Magical
Moment Ditch Magical presented by Hawfey Hot tis Well.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
This being Game three of the World Series, we go
back to the twenty eighteen World Series Game three Dodgers
and the Boston Red Sox right here at Dodger Stadium.
It was a Friday night, Max Monsey, late in the evening,
how about seven hours after the game started, the eighteenth
inning here at Dodger Stadium. Two complete games in the
(24:19):
books before Max Monsey walked it off.
Speaker 12 (24:22):
Bally on three and two, five ball left center field.
Well hit back at the wall, and the longest World
Series game in history has come to an end a
mighty blast by Max Monthsey. The Dodgers are back from
the dead. They win it three to two. They moved
(24:44):
back to within two games to one in the twenty.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Eighteen World Series.
Speaker 12 (24:50):
An historic game at Dodgers Stadium and Monsey is being
pummeled at the plate.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Eighteenth inning, Max months he went the walk off home
run in the longest game in the world stage history,
Game three the twenty eighteen World Series, Dodgers would make
it a two to one series deficit. Unfortunately, the Boston
Red Sox would go on and win the World Series.

This is Marongo Casino, Dodgers on dep on your home

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Lean you up to Dodgers and Blue Jays at Dodgers Stadium.
It's Game three of the World Series. Max Schuzer goes
for Toronto. Tyler Glass now on the mound of for
the Dodgers, as this series is tied up at a
game a piece. Coming up, we'll hear from Blake Snell
in just a little bit time now for the Verizon startup,
as we're a little bit more than thirty five minutes
(26:12):
away from the start of first pitch. Now at Verizon
you can lock in your price for three years, so
you could say, big visit the Verizon store today. Coming up,
we're gonna hear from Blake Snell'll dive deeper into this
pitching matchup, but right now, let's send it over to
Charlie Stider.
Speaker 13 (26:29):
All right, Tim, getting ready for Game three of the
World Series. Of course, the two teams are tied at
one in one. How important is this game? You look
back in history, the winner of Game three goes on
to win the World Series sixty nine percent of the time,
a record of seventy and thirty one. The Dodgers, of course,
very good at home this year, fifty two, in twenty
(26:52):
nine Toronto, fifty four and twenty seven at their place.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Having said all that, all even.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
And let's begin with the tale of the.
Speaker 13 (27:00):
Rodgers battery on Saturday night, Yamamoto and Smith were the heroes,
and oh no, you and not just talking before we
went on the air without it being a statistical perfect game.
Watching Yamamoto at work on Saturday night, it was as
close to being a perfect game as there is.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
Yeah, and on the biggest stage on top of that,
you know, the Dodgers took that one nothing lead with
an RBI single by Will Smith that was in the
very first inning. And again that was a two out rally,
two outs and nobody on base, a double by Freeman,
then a clutch a single by Will Smith. So from
start to finish it worked out. And for Yamamoto, the
(27:37):
last hit that he gave up was a two out
single to Vladimir Guerrero Junior in the third inning. After that,
twenty consecutive batters were retired, and just the third pitcher
to throw back to back complete games, both on the
road and home in a single postseason in ninety five years.
(27:57):
So we're talking about something. Yeah, this is in history books.
This is just a nice analogy of the previous game.
Speaker 13 (28:03):
Watching him work the other night, he used seven different
pitches with varying speech there. He was literally unhittable, as
you say, certainly put the last twenty hit.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
Yeah, and I thought as soon as he started to
mix in the curve ball, we saw just total control
of everything else. You know. Guerrero hit that that single again,
that was the last hit, remember he e being Yamamoto
had hit Springer with a pinch, and then one out later,
Guerrero hit a ball off the wall. It was played
perfectly by kick Hernanez in left field and held Guerrero
(28:38):
to a single. So it was at first and third
at that particular time. But it was right around that
time that Yamamoto discovered, Hey, this curveball of mine is
really something. It's one of the best that we saw.
You know, normally we see him maybe go to the splitter. Well,
it was the curve ball that was devastating, and it
did not allow the Blue Jays to really kind of
square it up because he would zip the ninety six
(28:59):
to ninety seven on our fastball by them.
Speaker 13 (29:01):
And his catcher had a pretty good night Will Smith
too before that home run. He's got a six game
hitting streak coming into tonight's game, and he's reached base
in twelve of his last twenty five played appearances.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
Yeah, the battery is fully loaded. Yeah, and in the
other part too, Charlie is in and you know that
pen City hit for home run came inside on him.
It was not where the target was set up. But
I mentioned that because keep in mind Will Smith is
still not one hundred percent. Oh, he's not going to
talk about it. That fractured right hand is still an issue.
There's no question about that. But I thought that the
(29:33):
Blue Jays would actually try and jam him inside with a
lot of pitches because of the right hand. It turns
out they would pitch his inside. That's what he hit
for the home run. It don't discount he also knocked
in the third run of the game, at least for
him with a fielder choice in the ateh Innies. So
the Dodgers, they had very good at bats and they're
going to need them tonight against Max Scherzer, who is
(29:54):
going to throw a lot of breaking stuff and then
keep hitters honest with throwing that fastball the ninety five
miles hour, and he's going to surprise some hitters.
Speaker 13 (30:01):
After nineteen seasons. This is this fifth World Series start.
Been there, done that. Let's see how far the forty
one year old right hander can go. Against thirty two
year old Tyler Glasnow, who last pitched just eleven days ago,
and he's allowed just one run in thirteen innings in
a one seventy four opponent's batting average in the postseason.
(30:22):
It's not going to get any easier for the Blue
Jays at the play.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
No, it won't get any easier. But look, get you
know Glasnow, he's pitched a well of recent times. There's
no if ens a bunch about it. I just hope
he does not get in a quagmire thinking about mechanics,
because he is very mechanics oriented in trying to analyze
his his pitches and the physical part of delivering the baseball.
Speaker 13 (30:44):
Talk about pa Has and his struggles, they've been certainly
well written.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
He's in the lineup tonight. Still, yeah, he's in the lineup.
Here's something very quickly a ban Andy pae Has. You know,
he has the ninth highest average in baseball against right
handed breaking pitches. He had a couple of good advanced
the last ballgame in the last each of the last
two advanced in Toronto, and with that high percentage of
breaking balls, hopefully he can figure it out with the
swing because sure you will throw a very high percentage
(31:10):
of breaking stuff.
Speaker 13 (31:11):
Game three of the World Series. Right around the corner.
Lineups in first pitch coming up, Tim, all right, thank you, Charlie.

Time appreciate today.
Speaker 11 (33:22):
Hey, I woke up this morning really excited about coming
to the ballpark.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
I know that's the sense around the team.
Speaker 11 (33:28):
How excited is everybody for the World Series to be
back here?
Speaker 14 (33:32):
No, we're fired up, you know, we're just we're excited
to be home and see this place packed out, ready
to go and you know, chase the World Series. This
is what we've all been waiting for, fans, players, So
let's go time.
Speaker 11 (33:44):
It feels like your offense is starting to wake up.
It feels like your hitters are ready to really put
up a crioket number today.
Speaker 14 (33:52):
Yeah, no, that should be good, especially that top those
top three them Hall of famers. Yeah, we're looking forward
to that. We'll see, we'll see what we can do. Man,
teams locked in, we're all fired up, we're ready to go,
and we're just excited to be home. Man, this place
is amazing.
Speaker 11 (34:07):
You guys evened up the series in Toronto after another
great performance from Yamamoto. What makes him so special and
why is he your favorite teammate?
Speaker 7 (34:18):
Hey? Man, you're gonna put it on the spot like that.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
You told me he's your favorite teammate.
Speaker 14 (34:21):
Yeah, I love him. I mean, he's just for twenty seven.
He's just so locked in on his routine, his prep
adjusting in the game, learning, watching, He's just so he's
just so good at his job and for that to
be twenty seven and doing that is so impressive. And No,
(34:42):
and then just him as a person. In the conversations
we have as friends, it's just always so much fun.
And yeah, I'm just you know, we've grown a really
strong bond and you know, I'm so lucky to have
him as a teammate.
Speaker 7 (34:54):
And a friend.
Speaker 11 (34:55):
We see him during the game write notes in his
little notebook, you have your snow Zilla binder.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Is there any similarities.
Speaker 11 (35:03):
To just how you guys in the middle of games
are looking back at notes and the preparation in the
middle of the game.
Speaker 7 (35:12):
I mean, I think it's just all of us like learning.
Speaker 14 (35:14):
You know, we all want to be the best in
the world, and we're all competing against each other.
Speaker 7 (35:17):
And that's his.
Speaker 14 (35:18):
Thing that he's doing and I'm doing my thing, and
we're watching each other. We're learning, and we're just trying
to be the best pictures we can be. And we
have such a good starting staff and we all compete
against each other and with each other, and man, it's
just fun to be a part of. You know, we're
all chasing being the best, you know, the best picture.
Speaker 7 (35:34):
In the world.
Speaker 11 (35:35):
After Game one, you said you learned something. You'll have
that opportunity in game five to a play it. How
excited are you to have another opportunity in this World Series?
Speaker 7 (35:46):
I can't wait. Yeah I was.
Speaker 14 (35:48):
I was probably the happiest that we won Game two.
But no, I can't wait. You know, I learned a
lot and I gotta go out there and proving myself, like, hey,
I know what I need to do and I'm gonna
do it. And no, I can't wait. I mean, especially
to pitch at home in the World Series with our
crowd and you know, I know, I know what we
can do and we handle business.
Speaker 7 (36:09):
This should be a great day.
Speaker 11 (36:11):
It's exciting right that you had a chance to pitch
in the World Series. But now you get a second chance,
and also here at Dodger Stadium. How do you control
that excitement?
Speaker 7 (36:21):
I mean, yeah, I don't know, it would be the
day off.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
You just you roll with.
Speaker 14 (36:24):
It, You learn and you feel the energy you feel,
you know what today is or what that day will bring,
and you just go from there. But I know I'm
excited and I'm already like just I can't wait for
my start, but I can't wait to watch Glass and
Show as well.
Speaker 7 (36:39):
I mean, we're ready to play this what was gonna
wait for all year?
Speaker 11 (36:42):
When we see you walk into the ballpark for your start.
So you obviously got a lot of swag and you
have your headphones on.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Can you tell us what you're listening to?
Speaker 7 (36:54):
Yeah, I mean lately a lot of NBA, Young Boy.
Speaker 14 (36:58):
Yeah, that's a lot of that Kodak Black right now,
it changes, but right now that's what I'm listening to.
Speaker 11 (37:06):
So are their phases. When you're walking in, you're listening
to the Kodak. But once you get into the clubhouse,
do you switch the vibe up as you get closer
to first pitch?
Speaker 7 (37:14):
Yeah, I mean it could change, you know, you never know.
Speaker 14 (37:16):
Right now, that's that's kind of where I'm at, and
that could change the country, It could change the Latin
I mean sometimes reggae, I mean it kind of jumps
all over the place. But right now that's kind of
where I'm at mentally and yeah, I'm gonna stay right
in that lane and unless it, you know, I'm like,
I want to listen to something else.
Speaker 11 (37:33):
I'm excited for Game three, but I can't wait for
Game five. Snail Zilla Day at Dodger Stadium, World Series Stage.
Thanks a lot for the time. And next time we talk,
you might be feeling a little bit different, I hope.
Speaker 14 (37:47):
So, Dave, that's the plan. So we'll see what we
can do. But I like the way. I like the
way we're playing right now.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Love it. He has that look in his eye.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Be ready.
Speaker 11 (37:56):

take care business the next two. Tim, we'll send it

Person about your soun California and Toyota dealers work hard,

See your Toyota dealer today. They make it easy. Max
Scherzer on the Mountain forty one year old right hander.
Eighteen season in the Big leagues. Twenty twenty five. Regular season,
he was five and five with a five to nineteen ERRA.
This postseason, he's one to zero with a three to
(39:08):
eighteen erray. He made the one start in the postseason
in Game four of the ALCS over the Mariners. Facing
the Dodgers with a twenty fourth time in his career.
Remember he was a Dodger at one point in twenty
twenty one. Second time this season he is going to
face the Dodgers, having faced them back in August. In
that game, he pitched pretty well. He's also faced him
as a member of the Diamonbacks, the Tigers, the Nationals,
(39:29):
the Mets, and now with the Blue Jays five and
six with the two to three eight r. Tyler glast
on the mountain for the Dodgers, thirty two year old
right hind in the regular season four and three with
a three to nineteen r ray, no wins, no losses,
sub one erra. This postseason, he's made two starts a
one relief appearance here in October, allowing one run on
seven hits, eight walks in eighteen strikeouts total. He pitched
(39:52):
the seventh and eighth inning the Game one of the
NLDS against the Phillies, started Game four of the NLDS,
and started Game three of the NLCS against the Rowers.
Tyler Glass now Max Scherzer dueling it out Game three

Speaker 2 (40:27):
It's the Dodgers in Blue Jays Game three of the
World Series from Dodgers Stadium, the on field ceremonies wrapping
up both teams on the first base and third base lines.
Lots of medium Dodger fans in position ready to go.
Hope you're set. Steven and Rick have the play by
play coming up. But before that, one final check over
the gapin Motors broadcast booth.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
With the guys tc first pitch in just a few moments,
Tyler Glassnell will throw it to George Springer, who's gonna
be greeted quite warmly. We would suspect the former astro
leading off for the Blue Jays in tonight's Game three
of the World Series.
Speaker 6 (41:01):
Mode give me a final key or keys?
Speaker 5 (41:03):
Well, I think for Glass now, to keep the breaking
bowl down. He's done that very very well. The slider
and the curve ball combined those two pitches. When he
keeps them down, it's below a one hundred average against him.
I think also keep runners off base, why, well, the
Jays have some guys that could run. If you look
at Glass now, ten stolen bases this year. In the
eighteen stars that he had, not one runner was thrown out,
(41:24):
So it's kind of lopsided in his career as well
in the stolen based department. On the flip side with Scherzer, Oh,
he'll throw that ninety five mile an hour fastball. He'll
surprise you with it. But his bread and butter is
the curve ball and the slider. No offends. But's about it.
And the question is I just have two guys that
match up well in the breaking balls. Mentioned earlier that
Andy pat has ninth best average against right headed breaking
(41:48):
balls this year, needs to come out and have better
swings the other guy. If you look at Shoho Tani
thirteenth best average in Major League Baseball on the breaking stuff,
and they need some big bats to really come alive.
And not just the top of the order or the
bottom of the order. You need nine guys.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
Tyler Glass now, Max Scherzer, Dodgers and Blue Jays. The
winner of Game three takes that two to one series
advantage and of course history on their side when you
break a one to one best of seven time in
the postseason. Tim, we'll get it back to you because
we gotta get ready for.
Speaker 6 (42:19):
A ball game, all right.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Game three. First pitch is next. Tyler Glass now on
the mound to face the Toronto Blue Jays. Dodgers and
Jays tied at a game a piece in this best
and seventh series, first pitch of the Ravine. When we
come back, I'm Tim Katsey has been Morocco Casino Dodgers
