we have two matchups today that we'regonna go through here on the f Anda
podcast. We have nine eight ninematchup and our seven ten matchup eight verses
nine from the liquor region. Thisis, by by the way, all
dubbed by Ago Brianna, who doesa phenomenal job. So this is the

(01:29):
Tipsy ten by the way. Yes, So in the liquor region, we
have the eight seed Mary Vegas Christmasversus the nine seed Turning twenty one twice.
And then in the beer region theseven verses ten, the seventh seed
being wrinkle Free Party in Pasadena versusthe ten seed Babe Watch. I'm looking

(01:52):
forward to this, Yeah, Scade. For these stories, we haven't checked
them out yet. I have notseen any of these stories. I did
submit one, of course, yousubmit it one. Well, someone submitted
one for me. I believe technicallysomeone said it want to for you.
Well, I was there in body, but I was not of sound mind.
Your soul left your body that night. A couple of too many shots

(02:14):
of yeager or what was going on. I think it was a birthday story.
This should be a really good one, but I don't know if it's
included in the eight, nine, seven, ten. I'd like to think
mine it's like a one or two. Think yours is the top overall seat.
I don't know if that's helps,but we'll see. You know,
Breeze is gonna come on in thefinal segment. As a matter of fact,
moderate, yeah, she puts sheput this up, all this out

(02:35):
together, so everything in moderation exceptfor except for the liquor apparently, so
I'll have that coming here at thebeginning of the show. To start things
off, we're down the home stretchof the NBA season, one team firmly
entrenched to the other, probably hittingtheir asses back home. We might have
some drunk stories from a certain fanbest, so we gotta bring all one
of our favorites to talk about ithere off the top, Adam, let's

(02:57):
get to it. Alan drinking dude. Thank you, Johnny Well. This
man should also win an award afterslapping some sense into low level NBA casuals
with his granular deep dives on theBleacher Report. He's an NBA capologist for
the people you've seen him on NBATV and the popular reality show Seven Days
of Six. It's Eric Pinkas withus and his Big Brain back on the

(03:20):
f and a podcast. Follow himon Twitter at Eric Pinkas. Eric.
How are you? I'm good? All right? Thanks for having me,
guys. Now. Based on yourmost recent post for the Bleacher Report and
your analysis there, how overly simplisticis it to just say Westbrook is the
problem this season for the Lakers,Well, I think a lot of that

(03:46):
is, you know, accurate.I mean that that final decision was I
mean, really the tipping point inputting all your resources that you had at
the moment, right outside of Lebronany into one other player was fundamentally a
mistake because this is just a leaguewhere health is not common. It's rare

(04:10):
for a team to be healthy allyear. You look at everybody and what
they're going through. I mean, the Bulls, the Nets, some of
that was self inflicted, but KDwas out for a while. I mean,
you just go team by team. The Nuggets don't even have us,
the guys, the Clippers don't haveKauhi. Paul George looks like he's coming
back. The point is is thatinjuries are common, they happen, it's

(04:35):
every year, and so shifting theweight of your depth into one guy into
Westbrook, who was a poor fiton paper with Lebron, but ultimately,
you know, has been worse probablythan than what's on paper. I think
that's a huge part of it.But what I wrote about is that there's

(04:58):
more to it, and that theLakers have really made a series of decisions
over the last handful of years, but most importantly since they won the championship
that has gone raised basically like aone eighty from what they did to win,
which was depth and length and defense. Now they're all about trying to
be a great offensive team, whichthey're not, and they're a terrible defensive

(05:23):
team, and it's just been kindof a disaster. So I don't think
it's a surprise to say the LakeThere's haven't been great the last couple of
years. Last year they had amediocre regular season but looked like they were
going around together by the playoffs, but eighty got hurt. But I think

(05:44):
ultimately, if you look at themoves that they've made, they've kind of
put themselves in this position, notjust with Westbrook, but a series of
other moves. Eric Pinkins is ourguest here on the f Anda podcast.
His latest article for The Bleacher Reportis titled have Los Angeles Lakers mismanaged their
way from Champs to Chumps? Eric, let me just ask you this point,
Blake, what exactly is Russell Westbrookgood at? So Russ is really

(06:14):
good at pushing and attacking. Imean he he puts a lot of pressure
on the defense to have to dealwith someone who will really go for the
rim, attack the rim whenever youcan. But I would say he's lost
maybe anywhere between one to two tofive percent of his athleticism, which is
not a lot. I think it'sfinishing, has has dipped, and he

(06:39):
doesn't shoot the ball well. Weknow that he doesn't defend well. I
think it's it's worse when you watchhim every day as opposed to I mean,
if if I'm in La covering theLakers, covering the Clippers in person
and seeing Russ with the Wizards ahandful of times or with the Rockets a
little bit more, you see whatyou see. But when you see it

(07:00):
every day, then you're like, wow, you know he's not really a
strong defender at all. He ishis focus on defenses. When he's on
ball, he's a little more aggressive, but he loses his focus off the
ball. But I mean there's alot there with Russ that I mean,
he's a very aggressive passer. Uhyeah, he has a lot of turnovers,

(07:23):
but there's a lot there that isalmost the same guy that wasn't a
league MVP. I don't want tosit here and say he's awful, because
he's not. I think he's putin a position where he's on a team
where Lebron's going to need the ballmost of the time, and Russ is
not great off the ball, sothey're not playing Russ to his strengths.

(07:44):
I don't want this to be youknow, Russ Westbrook is awful because he's
not. But there are clear deficienciesin his game that have been there for
his whole career, and just likeanybody, I mean, there's no perfect
player, but I think more sothe last couple of years, and just
I think they thought the raw talentwould overwhelm the odd fit and it hasn't.

(08:11):
So why do they do moving forwardhere? Eric? I know there
are a rumor is that they maybe interested in Quinn Snyder if they let
Frank Vogel go, which seems tobe more likely than not at this point
in time, if they can't makesome sort of ginormous shuffling up this roster
and find a way to get ridof Westbrook or blowing up even more on
get rid of to Anthony Davis andbring this at least mostly same cast of
characters together, maybe some of theancillary pieces are a little bit different.

(08:33):
Is a coaching change enough to changethe fortunes of this team and have them
look better going into next season thanthey did this year? Yeah, I
mean, there's there's a lot ofquestions tasks. So for one, the
Lakers have to decide first, isthe front office to blame? And I
think that the lean would be no. I think if they would and this

(08:58):
is my opinion, of course, that they would look at the decision to
get Westbrook and see that Lebron reallypushed for that to happen, and I
think a lot of that blame willinternally be placed on Lebron more than maybe
Rob Link. And that's just mytake, and I don't know if I
would agree with that logic. Butas far as like, if you're a

(09:20):
GM or if you're Jimmy Bust thefinal decider, you don't make a what
I consider to be a bad movejust because your star player wants to do
it. There's a line where yousay, we don't believe in this,
and so they believed in it enoughto listen to Lebron who wanted it to
happen. And so if they keepthe same front office, then the question

(09:43):
is can they find a home forRussell Westbrook on another team that makes sense?
And there's there a trade that dramaticallychanges things so that you get talent
and you even if you give upa couple of first round page it's long
term. That's sort of predicated onLebron extending, which he can do in

(10:03):
August. And I don't think youcan do anything that hurts the long term
future until you have a commitment fromLebron. I think ultimately that that does
happen. I think Lebron with hisfamily situation, kids going to school out
here, uh not just Brownie whodoesn't have he's a junior, so there's

(10:24):
not a lot of time left.But he's got Bryce, He's got he's
got his family. So I thinkthey like LA. So if we just
pencil in. They don't change thefront office. Lebron's willing to extend.
Can they make a trade with Westbrookthat brings back enough talent that they're willing
to give up a couple of firstsand gives the Lakers a chance? I

(10:48):
don't think they would do like dumpingWestbrook and two first to the Thunder for
like Derek Favors and Mike Muscala, who are Yeah, but those are That's
that's like a legal deal that theycould do around June, before the before
July. And so in theory, like that's a way of getting out of

(11:11):
Westbrook and bringing back you know,it would cut a lot of salary,
it would enable them to keep MalikMonk, but it really wouldn't be updating.
It would be more of an additionby subtraction type move. And I
don't think they would do a coupleof firsts just to get you know,
Muscala and and Favors because those arenot high impact players at all for them.

(11:33):
So is there a way to dosomething like a I've written before,
like get guys from like Indiana, like maybe milcol Malcolm Brogden and Buddy Healed.
Uh, there There are a lotof ways to look at the the
league and come up with theoretical ideas, But I don't know where those other
teams are and how much they valuethose Laker first, and is Rust willing
to take a buy out? Andand can you get a team to pay

(11:56):
him about ten million dollars this year, in which case instead of forty seven,
maybe you know that's the salary nextyear assuming he opts him another team
can is really on the hook forthirty seven? And then if you're taking
off, like I mentioned, Favorsis about ten, so in theory,
you're adding about twenty seven to thethunder books. If US takes a ten

(12:18):
million dollars buy out, there areways where you can make it almost palatable.
But the Lakers have to get moreback than just Favors and Muscala,
and I don't know exactly how thatworks. So there's kind of the top
down. There's the front office dayas is does Lebron's days is can they

(12:39):
get a deal for us? Andif not, do they just buy him
out out right, maybe stretch hismoney, or do they keep him?
And if they're going to keep him, I think you definitely have to change
the coach because I think this doesn'twork, because it shouldn't work on paper,
but I think it's proven, atleast in their mind. My tape

(13:01):
is is that they'll need a fallguy and it'll be Vogel, And you
mentioned Quinn Snyder. There have beensome names I've been ending about. I
don't know what happens in Philadelphia ifthey fall short again. I've heard that
there's some potential that D'Antoni could replaceDoc if things really go badly, because
they're supposed to win, and ifthey have a let down, maybe in

(13:26):
the second round or something, maybethere's a change there, and I could
see Doc being the kind of personalitythat the Lakers would go after. Quinn
Snyder's definitely an intriguing option. I'veheard he's obviously under contract with the Jazz.
It's the same idea. You can'tget a Doc or a Quinn if

(13:46):
if their teams don't let them outor fire them, and the Lakers aren't
giving up a first to get thoseteams to give up those coaches. That's
just not happening. And we coulddebate whether or not Doc is the right
guy or not. I would makean argument not, but if you read
my article and and see that maybethey've kind of done the one eighty of

(14:07):
what I think they should do ina lot of cases, then Doc would
be a certainty, you know whatI mean. It's kind of like the
anti compass kind of logic. There'sone of the names to throw out.
But I know that he's got acouple of kids in his program. But
Juwan Howard, who had obviously anincident in Michigan and then redeemed himself a

(14:28):
little bit with a nice tournament run, But that's old news after what happened
with Will Smith. I mean, nobody cares well, yeah, seriously,
But you know, I think Ithink Juwan has ties to Polinka. Well,
I know he has ties to Polinka. They went to school together,
played in college together. He's gotties to Lebron. Lakers interviewed him before

(14:50):
they hired Vogel and liked him,I've heard, but he was green in
the sense of experience from their eyes. He never been an NBA head coach,
and I do think they prefer inexperienced NBA head coach. But I
think I think there's enough there tosay that Jiwan is a possibility. But
he's got a second kid go intoMichigan and I you know, there's something

(15:11):
about family similar to why Lebron mightextend in LA that you say, Well,
I don't know if Jiwan would leavethat job. You know, maybe
the drama that he had is enoughto make him want to leave the NCAA
and go to NBA, or maybehe wants to stick around and coach his
kids. So you know, that'sa long answer to a lot of It
was a big question though, SoI don't have an answer as far as

(15:33):
to what they do exactly, butyou just have to look at east little
element and each element is going todetermine the next if they change for an
office, if Lebron doesn't stay, all those kind of things changes things dramatically.
Well, as our resident capologist, this might be an easier question because
you brought up the chances or thepossibility that he could be a wave and
stretch he being Westbrook. I guessin a similar vein to lull dang oh,

(15:54):
I think they're still paying This yearmight be the last year they paying
him. So what does the waveand stretch look like from a Russell Westbrook
contract standpoint? And how long wouldthe Lakers be on the books for for
his contract and how much per year, but they have to pay him,
And do you think that's a viableoption if they can't find a trade market
for him. Yeah, you know, I think it's actually arguably the best

(16:17):
path for the Lakers, And Idon't know if they agree, who knows,
But if you're giving up two firststo just get him off the books,
to get guys like Favors in Muscalawho are Muscala can shoot the ball,
but and he might help, He'sstill he's only about three and a

(16:37):
half million. Favors is ten million. I don't know if he's a productive
NBA player at this point anymore.Certainly a good teammate and has had a
very good career, but I don'tknow if he's if they're worth giving up
two first just to get out ofRuss. But I guess in the case

(16:59):
of a stretch, Let's say thatRuss takes a three million dollars buyout,
or he takes a ten million dollarsbuyout, or some range in there,
a stretch would be in the neighborhoodof twelve to fifteen million dollars a year.
So you go from forty seven forthe next year down to let's just
say fifteen for this year, andso that's getting rid of a ton of

(17:25):
money. It allows you to keepmonks, it allows you to stay under
the tax. So the Lakers mayactually save a significant amount of money in
the year one, and then inthe year two and three you're adding on
fifteen million of dead money than thatyou did not plan for. And so
it does become more of an issuein that they probably do end up back

(17:47):
in the tax, but a lowerlevel of tax. So maybe they're paying
seven million or in the neighborhood often million in tax over the tax attack
might be higher the bill itself, but let's say they're ten million over that
that's theoretically possible, or even fivemillion over. So a smaller tax bill

(18:07):
for next year and the year after, but you lose flexibility, is I
think what people would say. Butdo you I don't know if you do.
Because if Lebron extends, the Lakersreally aren't going to be over the
cap next summer. They're not goingto be over the cap. And I'm
talking about twenty twenty three, nottwenty twenty two this summer, So twenty
twenty three, twenty twenty four, they're probably not going to be under the

(18:32):
cap anyway, and so what areyou losing? I think the fan reaction
is, don't stretch, stretch West. It's a terrible move. Don't put
that dead money on the books thatyou know, why would you want another
little old dang? Well, Imean the Lakers had little dang on their
books at five million. Forever, they're able to get Lebron, they're able

(18:52):
to get a d they're able towin a title with that five million on
the books. Was that so prohibitivethat it that it's a problem. I
mean, people have a psychological distasteto it. But as far as I
could tell, the fans, don'tpay that money, you know what I
mean. It's it's I mean maybeindirectly with the tickets, but that's that's
not logical, you know what Imean. There's an emotional reaction to a

(19:15):
move that, oh, just tradea couple of first Well, think about
it from the other point of view. If you trade Russ for the twenty
twenty seven and twenty twenty nine firstand eighty and Lebron their contracts expire.
Let's say they're gone by twenty twentyfive and the Lakers are starting over.

(19:37):
Are you positive if you're a fan, that the Lakers will have a new
contender built by twenty twenty seven orwill they need a couple of years to
put something together. Maybe they getanother All Star right out the gate and
are immediately back in contention. ButI mean, look at the history.
If you go from like Magic erato the Kobe and Shack era, there

(20:00):
was a gap where they weren't great, and then you went from Kobe and
Shack to the Kobe and Pao andthere was a gap where they weren't great.
And then you go from the endof the Kobe era with the Achilles
to Lebron era, and there wascertainly a long period where they weren't great.
I think you're risking giving up anumber one pick or number five pick

(20:23):
in that if you trade twenty twentyseven and it may last a few years,
you may end up giving a coupleof those because it depends on the
protections that they offer. Maybe theycan trade away protections in those picks,
but the history of Rob Polinka andhis regime is that they haven't really protected
picks. So why did they startdoing that now. I mean they should.

(20:47):
So there's just so much to lookat to say, oh, don't
stretch. That's a terrible move. But if you look at it like doing
nothing and just buying out Westbrook andeating the money this year and being the
same team without Brooked and still notafford to be able to pay Molik Monk
or a replacement doesn't sound great.Training him and giving up those first doesn't

(21:10):
sound great. Keeping him doesn't soundgreat unless there's a trade that is better
than the second option. To me, might be just stretching him. Eric
lass one for me, I'm actuallygonna tick with the Lakers here. Do
you think they're going to make theplay it? I mean, Lebron has

(21:30):
a sprained ankle now, so Idon't know how bad it is. I
know that he was able to finisha game. But rule of thumb is
is that when you sprain your ankle, if it's obviously, if it's horrible,
you're done for the game and you'renot going to play. If it's
a medium sprain, you really don'tknow till the next day when it swells
up. And so he said hefelt pretty bad on it after the last

(21:55):
game, so he got a fullpractice in apparently, or scrimmage in or
something like that, so that that'sactually a head of schedule. By my
calculation, I thought that wouldn't happenuntil February second, or maybe the fourth.
Uh, So I thought he'd gettwo three games under his belt.
He maybe he gets four. Idon't. They don't have many games left.

(22:17):
They've got a couple of back toback, so, uh there's a
really strong chance that they don't evenmake the plane. And I think they
might still, It just depends. If Lebron's out, then it's pretty much
probably not. But if Lebron isable to maybe misses one game, then
maybe I suppose. I mean,this is a It's pretty much if you've

(22:41):
mapped out the season and said, what's the worst case outside of like severe
injury to you know, beyond thesprain ankle to one of the stars,
then I'd say, yeah, thisis pretty much the worst case. What
about a quick one on the Clippers. Paul George looking to be back on
the comeback trill, gonna join theteam. As they head into the postseason,

(23:03):
they seem to be fairly locked intothe eighth seed. Do you think
they have a chance with Paul Georgehealthy down the stretch of the season,
get some get his legs wet thelast seven eight games that they can possibly
make some noise and maybe push thesecond seed or even the first year they
happen to fall to the eight. So I mean they need to it might.
I mean it's a tough go forthem. They they've had a great

(23:26):
season, and while they're not dramaticallyahead of the Lakers and standing as far
as record, obviously they are thatthey've been able to do that without Kawai
and Paul George for the most part. Kawai else season, Paul George fur
I don't know about more than halfI forget the exact number, but that
they've been able to compete. Imean, Clipper fans are like, this
has been a good year because we'vegotten more than we expected out of a

(23:51):
roster that then you know they don'thave a star play at Reggie Jackson is
the closest to it, and they'vebeen great. Ty Low has been great.
The team has been super solid underthe circumstances they have to be either
let's call it Minnesota, that's whereit's slotted. Now. It's theoretic they
think could be Denver if Denver slidesa little bit and Minnesota has been sort

(24:15):
of charging. The Wolves are notan easy team to beat, but they're
definitely beat a ball if you addin Paul George, assuming the chemistry doesn't
get hurt. I don't think itwill. I think if they added both
Kawai and Paul George, I thinkthat would be a little bit too much
for the chemistry as far as howthe team has played, but I think

(24:36):
they could slot Paul George in thereand be fine. So if they win
the first game, they would drawprobably the Grizzlies, which is a tough
one because they've been absolutely tremendous thisyear. If they lose the playing game
and then win the second playing game, they draw the Suns, who are
the best team in basketball. Soit's a tough go either way. There

(24:59):
was a shot think they would getthe Warriors, which is interesting. I
don't think I think the Warriors aregoing to stay at three because of injury
this Steph Curry. In fact, they may fall as opposed to climb back
up. So I think it's basicallyfor the Clippers, either the sons of
the Grizzlies and that's I don't knowif they're going to do a lot with
that, even with Paul George, but this has been a good year for

(25:21):
the Clippers regardless. He is EricPinkas again. Follow him at Eric pinks
p I n cu S on Twitter. He's an NBA capologist for the fans,
for the people. We appreciate him. He's been coming on with us
forever. Eric, thanks for doingthis today. We appreciate it of course,
anytime. Thanks having me, guyscome warning. What's up there,

(25:45):
Brie, greetings, greetings, what'sup? How are you? Guys?
Were good? Darlin has had anice interview with Eric Pakas talk about the
Sun. You know, he didn'tmake the cut unfortunately. We cut out
the part where he said they're thebest team in the league. That's not
the part where Adams said they weregoing to collapse like like the number one
seed Dallas Mavericks against the Warriors. We're gonna leave that part in. We're

(26:08):
gonna leave that part in. Areyou sing me that we believe Stephen Jackson's
junk all up? And you No, he didn't say that. I'm just
missing should have all right, Bree, So Brie, if you guys didn't
know. She's our social media directorat f and a show on Twitter and
on Instagram, and she's the commissionerof the Booze You'll Lose Challenge. She

(26:33):
was pushing for the return of thisbracket challenge that we do involving drunk stories,
and we compiled or Bree did.She curated the ten best drunk stories.
We put them together in a bracket, and today it looks like,
Bree, we're gonna give them thefirst four, the first four in or
that we have a two matchups?Right? No, he dropped box?

(27:00):
Was that happened? Every four? What did I stay overrong? I was
cut on? I want to usingthe book's mobile. I mean, what's
going on? Adam? Did this? Adam do? This is entire build
up and nothing crickets And I lookover when the phone line is empty.
Hello, yeah, read that prepaidshit out of here? Right? So

(27:22):
my god? No, I thoughtit would say something wrong and was it?
Go? That's not how that works? Is this correct? We're gonna
do eight verses nine today and sevenverses ten. Yea. Now eight verses
nine is in the liquor region.Winner of this plays the number one overall
se right, yeah, yeah, okay, so it sounds about right.

(27:48):
So one of us read eight, one of us read nine. Sure,
how about you want to start withthat eight? There, Adam the Merry
Vegas Christmas. I live in LasVegas and was offered to work a double
shift for my second job, soI snuck out of my primary job from
midnight to eight at seven thirty inthe morning, worked from eight to four.

(28:10):
I was dying to go home andgo to bed, but before I
went home, my customer brought meor bought me a blue moon and a
shot a wild turkey and challenged meto a game of pool. Seven and
a half hours later, after gambling, drinking, and more games of pool,
I'm scared shitless on the back ofa random dude's moped driving to the
Las Vegas Strip to start my midnightto eight shift on Christmas Eve, but

(28:33):
now this time with three thousand, three hundred and fifty two dollars in my
pocket. He got off work Christmasmorning and proceeded to do it all over
again. What an idiot, buta rich one. That's the most important
part. This is the rich dumberasked my goodness, so totally redeem yourself

(28:56):
so that Mary Vegas Christmas will takeon the nine seed, turning twenty one
twice. This is a good kidtitle went to the second all right,
went to the second part of aChristmas party after the first part was at
the office. There were about tenof us, had about three t dos
and pineapples before I started leaning againstthe wall and watching a twenty point blowout

(29:17):
on ESPN. Maybe the Lakers areplaying. This guy was walking by and
told me, oh, you're cute. My co worker overheard and took this
opportunity to tell him that it wasmy twenty first birthday. It was not.
He bought all ten of us patroneshots, which I drank mine and
my married co workers shot because Itold him, you're married, you don't
even deserve this. I was annoyedat him because he had assigned himself to

(29:37):
be my bodyguard since I had runaway from my group a few times and
I gotten two guys numbers and wasfound eating off some dudes plate watching TV.
Five minutes later, Botox Betty Barbielooking girl stomps over at me and
calls me out for trying to stealher fiance. My married co worker knows
that I don't like to be yelledat. So I grabbed my waist and
pulled so and grabbed my waist andpull me back in case. I was

(30:00):
ready to launch forward at this bitch, but I calmly turned around and said,
this is my husband. We're fromRiverside. Your fiance is a great
dude. It's my twenty first birthday. You're so lucky to have him.
My guy would never do that.To calm her down, and her Hugh
Hefner ten down, Jesus Christ. She chilled out. We talked about the
stresses of being engaged in marriage, and she bought us another round of shots

(30:22):
in honor of my twenty first birthday. Oh so this is the eight nine
Mary, Mary Vegas Christmas versus turningtwenty one twice. I'm leaning towards turning
twenty one twice because of some ofthe verbiage, very descriptive, very well
written. There was a bitch inthere. I like that. You avoid

(30:45):
conflict, you know, buddy upnow by the way, I have one
in here, do you now?Wait? How you can't win? I
can't win? No, you're not. We're not giving the FNA goblet to
Adam, I don't want the goblet, But how was this? If mine
wins, you're not getting my onefifty. You can still win thee hundred

(31:06):
dollars. You can still win thefifty dollars. No no, no,
no, no, no no nono, you're playing against We can't stack
the competition that way. We canhave our own submissions in there ahead.
Okay, Well, the person whosubmitted it submitted the story on on behalf

(31:29):
of Adam because it was the craziest. He had also endured that, so
it was also his story that whosubmitted that, so actually he would win
it if you know. Yeah,Adam, you're you are like kind of
like the whatever, like the newsof the story because it was all you.
But who who submitted it would winthe would win the prize. Okay,
so Adam is the subject of thestory, but he didn't actually submit

(31:51):
the story. Well right, Idon't remember that story. That that's different,
okay, comes, no, no, just because you are the subject
of said story, you aren't theone who submit it. In that's the
ruling. Yes, I would haveyou remembered. Yeah, whoever submitted the
story, they're the person who iseligible to win the prize. I guess
they did have to drive me around. They were the d D. They

(32:15):
did have to put up with me. Okay, okay, fine, I
can live with that, damn it. So so that is the eight nine
matchup. We also have seven versesten as well. Correct, Okay?
Should we read those before we giveour winner for the eight nine? Uh,
let's get the winner, okay. They eight nine is going on to
play the overall number one seed, which is titled what's the title for that

(32:36):
one? Bree Constanza moment, GeorgeCostanza momente, Sana my vonus for the
number nine seed and number nine seedstypically do win just by a slim margin
over eight season the actual tournament.Yeah, you know what, I think,
I'm gonna go with the Turning twentyone twice. Two. I guess

(33:00):
we we really don't need a Breezetybreak. Yeah, you have a vote,
Bree if you want. But oh, I'm totally gonna go Turning twenty
one twice. I came up withthe title. It's great, go to
it, all right, clean?Sweet, all right? All right?
Seven eight matchup or No. Seventen match up? Now, I'll read
the seven here. I guess Kevin, this is titled Wrinkle Free Party in

(33:23):
Pasadena. I was about twenty threeand I went up to Pasadena with my
lifelong friends to visit one of ourfriends who moved up there after college.
The only allure was that he livedsomewhat close to a nightclub. One of
the nightclubs we went up to,one of our friends, or one of
the nightclubs we went up. TheFunck wrote this, they were drunk still

(33:45):
one of the nights we went up. Oh. One of the nights we
went up, one of our friendsdecided she would make dinner for us before
going out. In addition to notbeing a great cook, she wasn't fast,
so it took forever to make dinner. Before dinner, I told the
guys I would steam our shirts inthe bathroom to get the wrinkles out.
I hung the shirts from the firesprinkler, something I'd done a lot,

(34:09):
turned on the hot water, puta towel under the door, and went
back to drinking. At some point, after dinner and far too many drinks
to get myself properly boozed to eatthe meal and then go out to the
nightclub and get rejected by girls.I remember the shirts wearing my jeans and
a white undershirt. I went intothe bathroom and turned off the water.

(34:30):
I pulled two of the shirts off, but the third was on a plastic
hanger and it was stuck. Idrunkenly yanked the hanger, and before I
knew it, the fire alarm wentoff and I was being doused in gallons
of disgusting black water. I ranout of the bathroom, screaming, holy
shit, the sprinklers. If you'venever experienced setting off a fire sprinkler,

(34:51):
it's not the romantic setting you've seenin movies. It's gallons upon gallons of
stinking, black, rotten water, water that's been sitting in a pipe for
who knows how long. The waterkept flowing for who knows how long until
the fire department showed up to turnit off. The fire alarm for the
building was also going off at roughlynine pm. When the fireman showed up,

(35:15):
the chief of our group, orthe chef of our group, the
old Snicker's commercial, who was properlydrunk, was hitting on the fireman while
all of us were trying to playdumb, until one fireman said, quote,
look, we know you hung someclothes from the sprinkler. It happens
all the time. Then we satthere until they were done, spent the

(35:36):
rest of the night cleaning as bestwe could. My bill for the damages
was fifteen hundred. We never madeit to the club. Oh you don't
say you don't want to shower andrally after that? Cheeze. Alright,
So that was going up against theten seed. That was a seven seed

(35:58):
taking on the ten seed. Babewatch. I was in college and my
brother got married. I got sodrunk I used my credit card for the
first time and bought the Pamela Andersonsex tape on VHS for seventy five bucks
at a porn store one that youused to have to go into to buy
something. Probably should have been asign of my future. Quick playing with
your dinghy Okay, that's that's timelybecause of the pam and Tommy's show that's

(36:22):
been out and they have watched,or Tommy Lee's penis talks to him at
one point. That's short, sweet, it was gonna watch. I don't
think I am now so eliminate thatone. Uh. This is long versus
short, long versus short, soto speak. This is a tough one.

(36:44):
These are very different. I meanbecause these authors are all over the
place buying a VHS sex tape. It's like the Bible, so many different
authors. That's something to behold rightthere, the fact that you even find
a store that even that that theyeven have those anymore, I even though
those still existed. I want orif Seth Rogan's character Sultan, this is

(37:04):
uh, bree, where are youleaning with this one? I'm going towards
babe watch. You're going babe watch? Why? Because I don't really I
mean like I don't see the appealof I don't think it's like that amusing
that like a bunch of water wentoff somewhere like that's just like idiotic,
drunk or sober like, that's justthat I just had to pay fifteen hundred

(37:27):
dollars. So I would go withthe with the the seven only because putting
myself in that situation, you're doingyour thing, your pre game, You're
trying to go out with your friends, and all of a sudden playing it
gets ruined because of because of what? Because because my dumb ass aside to
hand clothes from the sprinklers. Wait, this is your story again? As
if I'm putting myself in the story. Who knows what could have happened at

(37:51):
night? Could have found me,a girl, could have found a girlfriend,
could have had just have fun fora night wife, who the hell
knows? And it all got screwedup because my drunk. Keep my wife's
name out of your fucking mouth. So I think I'm giving it to seven.
So am I going to split thedifference? Go free? So this
is on you comes down to me. Qui hot shot And I've seen that

(38:12):
porn tape, but I watched itwhen it finally went online. I didn't
actually pay the seventy five bucks forits store VHS store, So it was
like in the nineties, like itwas like some like Blockbuster, like you
know, like lower level. Therewas a guy in the show selling it
like outside of a Blockbuster, likea bootleg version of it. I do

(38:37):
like the girl that plays Family Anderson. I like the guy who plays Tommy,
love him, love him, lovehim. Yeah, well that's not
his real genius. Let me tellyou. I'm guessing. Oh yeah,
what's here? What's your pick?Uh? All right, I'm I'm going
with Pam and Tommy Babe watch yeah, okay bachs on So Babe Watch advances

(39:07):
less is more. I'm sorry theSprinkler story. It could have been condensed
a little bit. That's all I'msaying. It was a little long,
but it's still good. So wehave the ten seed moving on beating the
seven and the ninth seed beating theeighth seed. Yeah, which one of

(39:27):
these is? Uh? What wasthat school that made it to the Elite
eight that beat everybody starting with KentuckySaint Paul, Saint Peter's excuse me,
Saint Peter for Tommy Lee's Peter.Oh, fuck Saint Peter, and an't
trolling I thought I can. SoBabe Watch is taking on the two seed
and what's labeled b AACA and wehave turning twenty one twice versus nine taking

(39:57):
on the one seed. Plus wehave a there, we got a four
five and a three six, andwe'll handle the Elite eight later this week.
Yes, we will. Thank you. Bret put us some good hard
work on this contest. We appreciateit. These are the lesser seeds,
They're good. These were these werethe lower bracket seeds and they were very
strong, very good, excited.Yeah, yeah, so we'll see.

(41:36):
This news of the passing of TaylorHawkins. My heart is smashed.

(41:58):
fifty years old shimssy. The foodFighters family is devastated, a tragic and
untimely lost, so many expressing shockand grief. It makes me sad with
the spirit that Taylor Hawkins head. It's just like you can't just keep waiting
around for life to happen, becauselook at you know, we lost one
of the great It's a huge, huge loss. And say I'm not lassy

Just become the symbol guy. Ohmy I this is the song that it

(43:07):
literally is one of the most hauntinglyrics of my life. And I think
about it all of the time thesedays. Your heart well stop and it's
fun. I met Dave, Ijust really liked them right away. We

(43:28):
just clicked when we met Taylor Hawkins. Taylor Hawkins just that smile and that
little boy face, that little lookthat he gives you. Like, whether
you like me or not, I'mgonna hook you put you. I call
it a vacation home. That's theway I look at side projects. They're
like vacation homes, but homes foodFighters, they shine with you. I

(43:51):
couldn't still when I joined the band. I kind of had to find my
place. It's been a building process, but you know, it's my home.
M h. Now it's just myhome. My home was to be
Foo Fighters drummer drummer Taylor Hawkins orHankins or Honkys or
