In a math fact. It's the yeah, we're three fun
fun facts. Little baseball fun fact. Leaning into the theme
today of Kershaw's retirement, Tom Brady was the last athlete
drafted by the Montreal Expos to retire. Brady was taken
in the eighteenth round of the nineteen ninety five draft

(02:48):
as a high school catcher. Of course, opted to go
to Michigan to play football. Ian Desmond, who retired in
twenty nineteen, was the last baseball player drafted by the
Expos to retire. Brady, of course, just retired two years
ago in twenty twenty three, at the age of forty five.
That's been retired. I believe at the age of thirty nine.

(03:08):
Brady's one of your favorites. Matt. Think he's doing a
bang up job.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Hey, I found out what the why they did that
thing at one pm in Vegas? Why is that it's
eleven o'clock in Saudi Arabia PM.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Ah, great point, the latest they could go. Thanks guys,
appreciate you having me come out here at one o'clock
for a game that kicks at seven, and I'll post
my story at midnight.

The three to two pitch swung on and missed, and
there it is. The ball is rolled over to the

do you think is gonna be number fifteen.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
Hundred one to two pinch, there's a curveball strike three,

every one of them coming in a Dodger uniform.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Is that right? Yeah? We got everybody but Steven Nelson.
I know he's not happy about that. Well, Oh, I
was gonna say, maybe he'll be on now. I have
a question. Is the Dazzler on the call tomorrow now?

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yes, Wayne ran Dazzo, the Dazzler, the Angels announcer.

of all time.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
That bumper has been hanging on for fifty miles. I
don't know what's keeping that Corolla, Togain. I mean he's
driving on a rim.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Must be all wheel drive. Brother man, we are gonna
get to the Curse Shop press conference. One of the
great Texas pictures of all time. Second best Dodger pitcher
of all time behind Colfax.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Who won our tickets? Last segment there, Kates, Oh wow,
Oh we got a whole pilot winners here. Man two,
we too, we have not acknowledged yet. We got Adam
from the three one zero and then Bill from the
three two three. Look at that we have got every
we're covering area, coach. It feels strategic. Yeah, eight one
eight three two three three, like somebody's like you.

Speaker 11 (11:41):
I already got an eight one eight, I got six
six one. Morgan, congratulations to her, she won tickets. Look
at that last hour, Well, we still have two pair
left to give away. We might as well give these
away right now. Because Clayton Kershaw's press conference is supposed
to start, supposed to start at five thirty. You know
they tend to run a couple of minutes late. We're
gonna carry that thing all the way through Dodgers on deck.

(12:02):
Now you're gonna have tickets and Dodgers on deck as well.
Right for tomorrow's game. Case, just one pair, you guys
took all of them for your show. That's exactly just
one pair. The pregame we took nine pair. We have
two pair left for tomorrow night's game, Clayton Kershaw's final
regular season start as a Dodger.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
We took them because we're coven us. We took them
because we we swing the big dong around here. Okay,
we gave them. We took those seats.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
We gave away fifty pair of Dodger tickets yesterday and
we're giving away nine pair today. Fifty nine pair of
Dodger tickets your World Series champion Dodgers between yesterday and today.
Curtisy of the Petros and Money Show. How about that?

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Thank you to the Dodgers and Dave Weeese. How much
does he honor us when we ask for tickets? Me
This Saturday, joined Am five seventy LA Sports at Alesion Park,
Ney Academy Road parking Lot for a pregame party from
eleven to three for your chance to win tickets to

(12:58):
the last two games, merchant ties and more. Stop by
the way on the UH Way end of the ballpark.
They're at Alesian Park when they get the mariachi going,
it's very magical, Matt.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
It is.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
And that's going to be fan appreciation Day that Sunday game,
as it is every last regular season game of the year.
So as we get our last as we get our
winner here in this particular segment at eight six six
ninety seven two five seventy, you remember, we're still gonna
and I guess if we carry the presser all the
way till the top of the hour, we'll just kind
of holler in the middle of it when someone's asking

(13:32):
a question, like just saying.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Something, we'll be like, this is what we'll be like.
You're listening to the and you know you got the
better voice for it, of course, but you know you're
listening to the Clayton Kersher retirement press conference at Dodger Stadium.
This is the PetroSA money show on a five seventy
LA Sports.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
You know, like that exactly what you do. Speaking of
that pe, we've got our winner, is that right? And
it's crystal from the four two four. We feel it
feels deliberate, Matt, it does. But we're taking caller twenty two.
I'm watching Kate's run through the numbers. It's fair, Crystal fair. Yes, hello, dear,

(14:15):
you've want tickets. Christal right, thank you so much, Thank
you so much.

Speaker 12 (14:19):
Guys, this is awesome.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Were you upset when they gave you the four too
four area code? Hold on, Christia, we got to go.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I've always been a three one old girly growing up
in Redondo Beach, so yes, i was a little upset
about that four two four.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
All right, enough, enjoy the ticket. Bristol's on Hold. We
go to the press conference.

Speaker 10 (14:35):
We thought for today the best thing we could do
is provide this forum for Clinton.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
To talk to all of you and to all Dodger
fans in a game, baseball fans everywhere about.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
His casting, right casting?

Speaker 13 (14:51):
All right, thanks Sam, this is weird. I have a
lot of thank you to get through, and I'm not
I don't. I can't have time today to do a
justice for all the people that have helped me along
the way and got me to this point. So today
I'm just gonna going to keep it short and sweet,
and then you know, be able to really tell people

(15:14):
just how grateful I am for everybody that's in this organization.
That's in this room, that's been here later on. But yeah,
I'm gonna I'm gonna call it. I'm gonna retire. We've
talked about a lot, Ellen and I talked about a lot,
kiddos talked about it a lot, and I'm at peace
with it. I think it's I think it's the right time.

(15:35):
And it's been a it's been such a fun year.
I've had such a blast with this group. I've had
such a blast with.

Speaker 14 (15:43):
All you guys.

Speaker 13 (15:43):
So yeah, I can't think of a better season to
go it out, go out, and uh, we still have
a lot to accomplish obviously this month, and the last
thing I want to do is be a distraction to
anybody for accomplishing our ultimate goal to win in the
last game of the season. So we're going to get
through this today and then we're gonna go win the
rest of the games and be good. But just a

(16:06):
few thank yous, Mark and Todd and Ownership, thank you
guys so much for everything that you've done for me.
And Andrew Gomer, Slater's Slate's front office stay in Lon, everybody,
thank you guys. You've done so much for me and
my family. And then I don't know where Doc is,
but Doc, and thanks Doctor, and uh the whole coaching staff.

Speaker 14 (16:28):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 13 (16:29):
I know I'm a pain sometimes, so thank you for
putting up with me, and then Thomas and powesome whole
training staff. You guys are the best, So thank you
for helping me get this carcass out on the field
every fifth day.

Speaker 14 (16:43):
Appreciate it. And then uh, you know trap you have strength. Guys.

Speaker 13 (16:49):
You know there's a whole article about my bowl now,
So thank you guys for helping me with that Ali
clubhouse guys. You guys are unbelievable. Everything you do for
this team, y'all are the glue for real. So thank
you guys. Dang it, Ellen, That's what I wanted to do.

(17:13):
The hardest one is the teammates. So I'm not even
gonna look at you guys and eye just you guys
sitting in this room. You mean so much to me.
We have so much fun. I'm gonna miss it. I'm
gonna miss uh, you know, working out day one in
the weight room, listening to crazy music with you guys.
I'm suretless Sundays. I'm gonna miss all of that. I'm

(17:36):
gonna miss the flights. I'm gonna miss everything about them, Freddy,
you know what I'm talking about. I'm gonna miss all
those you know, the game in and of itself, I'm
gonna miss a lot, but.

Speaker 14 (17:51):
You know I can.

Speaker 13 (17:52):
I'll be okay without that, I think. I think the
hard part is the feeling after a win, celebrating with
you guys. That's uh, that's pretty special. All right, I'm
done with that.

Speaker 14 (18:05):
To the friends and family that aren't here that have supported.

Speaker 13 (18:08):
Me, thank you guys so much. Everybody back in Dallas.
You guys are with me from square one, So thank
you guys. It's uh, you all saw me when I
was you know, fourteen to where I am now, so
you've seen every part of me. So thank you guys
for putting up with me for that long. All right, Ellen,

(18:30):
you four muskrats four and a half muskrats. Ellen sent
me this thing today and I'm going to read it
because I get to do whatever I want. You guys
are here, so.

Speaker 14 (18:46):
Deal with it and it won't take long. I'm almost done,
I promise.

Speaker 13 (18:51):
But she was just kind of Ellen's way to process
things is to kind of read through things, and this
is this was from her vantage point. She calls it
her what do you call your perch up on top?
And this is what she said, This is this is
how she views our last eighteen years here.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
For my perch.

Speaker 13 (19:09):
I have been uncomfortably pregnant, nurse newborns, rock them to
sleep to the roar of the seventh inning stretch.

Speaker 14 (19:17):
To get their last nap in, feed them baby.

Speaker 13 (19:20):
Food pouches, teething crackers, changing blow out diapers, been frazzled
with toddlers, tantrums and meltdowns, Chased them through the concourses
a Mary Poppin's bag full of tricks and games to
keep them occupied, and ironically teaching them the ins and
outs of baseball, explaining all the numbers on the scoreboard

(19:41):
and the concession line, the ballpark food. She's been there,
She's uh, She's cried over some really hard losses and
some really incredible milestones. And she's watched our kids fall
in love with the game, with the players with U
and watching me pitch singing, take me out to the
ball game, chasing beach balls, ducking from fly balls, spilling

(20:01):
food and popcorn all over the fans below them.

Speaker 14 (20:05):
And she's done it thousands of times.

Speaker 13 (20:07):
Thousands of bathroom runs all in the stadium, and the
workers and ushers are their best friends now. So I
just thought that was an amazing way to sum up
her life.

Speaker 14 (20:17):
From the stands and just what she's seen through it all.
So thanks, it's amazing. That's it.

Speaker 13 (20:27):
My last my favorite thing. My last thing is my
favorite Bible verse. It's whatever you do, work at it
with all your heart, as you're working for the Lord,
not for men. It's cautions and that's what I've tried
to do. Just work at it, Just work at it
and love it. And so I'm really not sad. I'm
really not. I'm really at peace with this. It's just
emotional and I've tried to hold it together. I told

(20:49):
our guys not to make it weird today, so because
I was gonna get weird if you make it weird,
and here I am making it weird.

Speaker 14 (20:56):
So that's that's all I have.

Speaker 13 (20:59):
And just thank you everybody here that's covered me over
the years. I know I'm not the most fun at times,
so just just thank you for putting up with me,
and that's all I have. Thank you guys so much
for being here.

Speaker 14 (21:17):
Yuh do I get to go?

Speaker 2 (21:23):
You know, okay saying here with this decision, but.

Speaker 13 (21:31):
Yeah, you know, I think just with this last home
start coming up, I just felt it was the right time.

Speaker 14 (21:36):
Honestly, Allen had a lot to do with it.

Speaker 13 (21:38):
She kind of talked to me, and it just it
just felt like everything had come together, and you know,
obviously we have another month to play, and you know,
we have a lot of great pictures, so everybody's role
is kind of up in the air at this point.
So I just didn't want this opportunity to pass by,
and it just kind of felt like the right thing
to do.

Speaker 14 (21:58):
When did you finalize your decision? We had talked about it.

Speaker 13 (22:03):
Basically all year, you know, Ellen and I just kind
of going back and forth, and usually we wait to
the off season to kind of make a final call.
But I think almost going into this season, we kind
of knew that this was going to be it. So
I didn't want to say anything in case I changed
my mind. But over the course of the season, just
how grateful I am to have been healthy and be

(22:24):
out on the mound and be able to pitch, And
I think it just made it obvious that this was
this was a good sending off point and it is.

Speaker 14 (22:33):
I've had the best time this year. It's been a blast.
How much did it.

Speaker 15 (22:37):
Matter to you to kind of go out on your
own currents and in a season where.

Speaker 14 (22:40):
You've pitched like this, you know it.

Speaker 13 (22:43):
Not a lot of people get this opportunity, So I'm
just I'm just super grateful for it. And so, yeah,
own terms is a weird thing to say, but not
hurt is nice, you know. So being able to pitch
and not pitched terribly and being able to be around
has been has been super special.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
What is the.

Speaker 14 (23:07):
I don't know. I don't know. Hold on, I think
I can answer that. Just give me a minute. I think.

Speaker 13 (23:19):
I think we all play this game for the respect
of our teammates, and so having these guys he's pretty special.

Speaker 14 (23:25):
I'm proud of that. Your entire career in Dodge. Yeah,
that's been amazing. I love being here. I wouldn't change
that for anything.

Speaker 13 (23:37):
Yeah, my kids have grown up here at least, you know,
we started out, you know, dating to married to four
four and a half kids later, So it's just been
we've all grown up here, haven't we.

Speaker 14 (23:49):
Yeah, So it's just been it's been a special place.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Anticipating tomorrow night, making your final.

Speaker 13 (23:56):
Whole the Great Seasons Pigeon, good Dave, all right, I
mean this is not you know, this is this This
game matters, you know for both teams where everybody's still
in it.

Speaker 14 (24:06):
We got to win these games.

Speaker 13 (24:07):
So it's good to get this out of the way today,
and you know it'll be heightened, I'm sure, but I
got a job to do, so I need to go
out there and do my job, and thankfully I'll have
that to distract me for sure.

Speaker 16 (24:19):
Idler have been a mentor for so many pictures.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
What's the most important lesson?

Speaker 13 (24:23):
You?

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Hope they carry forward.

Speaker 14 (24:25):
From your example.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 13 (24:28):
I just wanted to be I just want to be
a great teammates everybody, young guys, old guys. You know,
we're all together every day for eight months out of
the year, ten twelve hours a day. So who you
play with matters, and so I haven't had a better
time than with this group this year.

Speaker 14 (24:44):
It's been it's been a blast. And looking forward to
a little bit longer with them.

Speaker 12 (24:48):
I heard that you made your decision maybe a look
a month ago or so, and then in August, you
know five and mill with a one eight or a
you're so close to that all time wins record. Was
there any thought like I can still do this at
a high level.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
I'm still pitch and break that maybe wants to sell.

Speaker 14 (25:02):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 13 (25:02):
I think I just wanted to be be in the
moment this season and it's been. It's been a great year.
So I think we made the right call. And you know,
you know, you don't ever want to pitch bad, and
so pitching well is important and that's that's how I
would want to do it.

Speaker 14 (25:17):
Yeah, the people of this city mean to you.

Speaker 13 (25:21):
Yeah. I'm gonna get a chance to think the fans later,
I think. But it's been it's been a wild ride,
you know, and they've they've been behind us the whole
every step of the way. And it hasn't been a
smooth ride.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
You know.

Speaker 14 (25:33):
We've had our ups and downs, for sure.

Speaker 13 (25:35):
So I'm just I'm super grateful to every single Dodger
fan that's come through the stalls here at Dodger Stadium
and everyone that I've gotten to meet along the way.
I would say, it's just been it's been pretty special
to have that fan base behind us for all these years.
There's nothing better than having a full Dodger stadium and

(25:56):
getting the pitch in front of it your favorite moment here, No,
I think I think winning is always always my favorite thing.
So we got to win in twenty twenty and even
though twenty twenty four I wasn't a part of it,
to get to win and be there for that was
really special. And you know, I guess maybe the only
individual thing is maybe throw on the no hitter that

(26:18):
was that was very cool. I mean, I guess three
thousand strike I was cool too. It was really it
was really special this year. That was pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 14 (26:27):
I think I'm gonna have enough kids to keep me
busy for a while.

Speaker 13 (26:30):
So I'm excited to not miss another game and watch
all the baseball, volleyball, dance, soccer.

Speaker 14 (26:37):
What other sports do they play?

Speaker 13 (26:38):
Every other sport they imagina, well, football, basketball, everything, So
I'm gonna do that for a while.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
For sure.

Speaker 14 (26:48):
He's great. He's great.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
A couple of times that this is as much fun
as you've had with a group. Why this group and
why this season?

Speaker 14 (26:58):
We just.

Speaker 13 (27:01):
It's just a great group of guys. I mean, everybody's
here today, you know, and I think that's just that
means a lot, and I think we all have each
other's back. You know, it's not always going to grow
great for everybody all the time. And the only people
that understand that are the people in the clubhouse, you know.
So baseball is a hard game and it's just it's

(27:25):
not easy to play. So I think to have a
group of guys in it together and kind of understanding
that and being together and being able to have a
ton of fun all the time is is really important.
And the older I've gotten, the more the more important
it is. Like you can't just go through your day
every day, go through the motions, you know, like you

(27:46):
just can't. It's too hard, too long to do that.
So you gotta have you gotta have you know, Miggy
doing the mic on the bus, and you gotta have Kik,
and you got to have all these guys that are
able to keep us having fun and guyed every single day.
And that's that's what this group is. And it's been
a blast, and that's why I'm thankful. We're gonna have

(28:07):
another month or so to play and it'll be great.

Speaker 14 (28:11):
I'm gonna let these guys go, So maybe like two
more questions, please, Yeah, a lot about your.

Speaker 12 (28:15):
On field accomplishments, but how important and how proud of
you of your off the field accomplishments in the community.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
With you're at Allen's Kershaw's Challenge.

Speaker 13 (28:22):
Chair, Baseball has been an amazing platform. We've gotten to
do some amazing things. Yeah, it was Ellen's vision to
start Kershaw's Challenge, and then the way that Baseball's kind
of come alongside.

Speaker 14 (28:32):
That's been pretty special. So yeah, it's all. It's all.
It's been. It's been really special.

Speaker 10 (28:39):
Last long, guys.

Speaker 14 (28:41):
All right, thank you guys for being here. Appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
There it is. Clayton Kershaw retirement press conference. Opening statement
took a handful of questions, only acknowledged one person by name,
our David Vasse. Yeah, speaks to the relationship he has.
I guess I didn't know. I did we know that
Ellen was pregnant that he said four and a half kids? Yeah,
all right, Yeah they announced it during the summer. Oh yeah,

(29:09):
she is. She's definitely.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
We totally got through like twenty seconds of being a
serious broadcast number five on the way.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Did we know that Ellen was for Yes, we did know. Sorry, geez,
if you want to do it again. Now we can
do it again.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
I can tell you let's do it, and let's do
it again, all right, and Matt could be like, you
know that was the kid number five and the belly there.
Let's do it like, you know, like we were gonna
be serious because that was a really good press conference.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Was great. That's why I kept the mic off. I
was like, stepping on this man. Yeah, that was pretty
idiots to step on this well, I see, we know
she was. I kept the mic off. I only said
what couple things that came back an idiot, but I
only said a couple.

Speaker 15 (29:53):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
I was going to crack it in the moment and
be like, oh four and a half congratulations.

Speaker 6 (30:00):
Wow.

Speaker 16 (30:02):
They actually announced that Father's Day weekend, their fifth child
is a girl, book ending their final three months.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
All right, let's do it like we're just coming out
of the press conference and we're like, wow, what a
great emotional thing.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
And that was really cool. Right, well remember that forever.
Let's do that.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Okay, let's all right, you act like you're kershaw, like, okay, guys,
we're gonna call it thanks, you know, all.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Right, do it all right, guys, appreciate everybody being here.
I'm out of here, all right? Oh me, yes, you Well,
there it is Clayton Kershaw's retirement press conference. We gotta
try it again. Well, if I'm gonna pick it up

(30:51):
what I was trying to say? Sorry, Oh yeah, so
uh yeah, thanks guys and all of the career. Well,
there it is Clayton Kershaw his retirement press conference. An
emotional statement. A few different times, was not able to
keep back the tears, overcome with emotions, specifically talking about
his teammates, and I think that certainly speaks to what

(31:13):
kind of teammate and what kind of Dodger Clayton Kershaw
has been over these eighteen years. We're going to remember that,
Matt for a long time in our lives. Yes, we are.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
It was a very emotional few minutes when he was
trying to get through talking about his teammates and the
flights and spending time with these men. I would have
perhaps enjoyed it if he mentioned some of the teammates
in the past, like Andre Ethier and people like that,
but he kept it to this year's team, which I

(31:47):
think focus because those guys were all in there.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Yes, stay focused, enjoying the thing.

Speaker 12 (31:53):
Damn.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
I already screwed. I already enjoying the thing. Yeah, what
about aj ellis Man? Come on? Was he there?

Speaker 1 (31:59):
No?

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Oh he works with the padres A problem though, is
then you? As he said, I believe he was able
to share the opening statement of there are a lot
more people I'd like to thank, and I can't get
to all of them today or we'll be here for
the rest of the night. Damn. So that's kind of
like the Wink week at Ahalyas you know.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
I don't want to be like the kid who's down
fourteen with five minutes into the Madden game and I
just reset it, hit reseat. But should we try it
one more time?

Speaker 2 (32:29):
About this? Let's take let's let's reset with let's little
palate c little Sherbert here, Okay, let's cleanse the palate,
all right? Call her twenty two eight six six nine,
eight seven two five seventy our last pair of tickets
to give away. Good call. You're going to see Clayton
Kershaw's final start in the regular season as a Dodger
just announced his retirement. Our last pair are ninth and
final pair to call her twenty two at eight six

(32:51):
six nine eight seven two five seventy. You're going to
Dodger Stadium tomorrow night to witness history.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
All right, great job. I think that's a great idea. Okay,
let's do it again like kate'ss Kershaw.

Speaker 11 (33:09):
Uh yeah, so great career Hall of Fame. Next up, Cooperstown, Ellen,
love you and thanks everybody.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Well there it is Clayton Kershaw in his retirement press conference,
kicked off by Stan Caston Kershaw with an opening statement
overcome with emotion multiple times, specifically when no surprise Petros
talking about his teammates and talking about his family.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
It's a beautiful thing to see Clayton Kershaw so wide
open and gracious with the local media, the national media
that was there, clearly uncomfortable with the spotlight, but happy
in the moment to be celebrating his beautiful wife and family.

(33:55):
My wife, we of course knew that Ellen was pregnant
with their fourth child, her fifth child.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Dods bless it, son of a. Dodd's dig it up
to our winner. Now, Oh man, they're showing some highlights.
Remember when he really had the rabbinical beard, like he
could not grow the air on his face A different

(34:26):
time in the town. Oh how about that? Ellen?

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Still loved him despite his rabbinical beard, which is why
he celebrated.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
I'm not going to get to try it again, am
I three a half minutes.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
You know who wasn't there or wasn't mentioned? Matt, And
I know it bothers everybody. Matt Stafford. Oh, Matt Stafford
was not mentioned? Okay, and he's in town. They're probably
leaving tomorrow to play Philadelphia, so he would have been here.
Why wasn't he there?

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Why wasn't Stafford mentioned? And I, you know, because we
want to make them support your god, dude.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
We were kind of making fun of the Stafford thing earlier,
like we always do, and some guy texted me this
as you just reminded me. I was listening to Mason
and Ireland today and they dropped the I can't believe
Kersh and Stafford used to play together line, and I
thought they were gonna start laughing and making jokes like
you guys, but they were all serious and started breaking

(35:25):
it down more What a couple of bitches.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (35:28):
I mean, honestly, I've been catching him for for a
long time and uh, you know, he you'd always had
the twelve six curveball that just you know, froze all
lefties and crushed the rightis too so. And really the
thing that I see now that has been there since
he was a kid was his competitiveness on the mound.
I mean there's very few guys I feel like when
I watch baseball that when they're pitching, that that are

(35:50):
out there just competing almost like a like a football player.
And he brings that attitude to the mound, you know,
each and every time, and uh, it's it's fun to watch.

Speaker 14 (36:00):
Was he a very good blocking center? Be honest?

Speaker 15 (36:02):
Oh god, yeah, I mean I can't really remember too
much about freshman, but he got kicked out of the
game once for sticking up for me once. Yeah, a
guy hit me late and then he he retaliated. So
I appreciate the love you always had my.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Back, I tell you, Angie or Allen excuse me. It's
just Allen is too smart to hang out with that
Kelly Stafford.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
That's the truth. Oh, you want to talk about two
opposite sides of the spectraum wives once talking about Oh
look it up with a backup quarterback.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Wait till Kershaw retires and we get the Ellen Kershaw
Podcast live.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
From out Deep Allam Dallas text. I will say, I
do suspect that Kershaw, even though he would be sensational
in the booth, will take the Philip Rivers approach. You
will never see him again. He will move to Dallas.
He will disappear with his family and his friends like
he did the second the season was over, and that'll

(37:05):
be that. It's crazy to imagine that someone would prefer
to live in Highland Park instead of you know, Manhattan Beach,
just like you know, Philip Rivers left carls or Ensinnitis
wherever he was for Central Alabama. But I think those
two are very similar. Where as much as they embraced
southern California and embrace the fans the second it was

(37:27):
over there like yep, out of here.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Well, I think there was a big reason that there's
were rumors for years and years and years that Kershaw
was going to go and be a Texas Rangers player.
I mean, there's a reason for that, and it's because
he is a tech. There's a reason we've been playing
Texas music through and through. He loves La and he
said he raised his family in Los Angeles, but he

(37:53):
is a Taxan and I think that's where they spend
most of their time when he's not playing baseball. A
congratulations to the Kershaw family and everybody involved with the
Dodgers and our own David Vasse who's covered the heck
out of this guy for many many years.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Is this shout out? Is this the Kershaw Walk? Yeah?
The fun is the Yeah. There had to be a
reason you had to be Well, it's a great song.
That's the reason. You're right, You're right, you know we
are young Roddy.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Roddy swinging his shirt, his French striped shirt over his
head right now.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
He loves it so much.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
Thank you to Ronnie Fassio and Rodney Fassio on Twitter,
Tim Kates, who was.

Speaker 16 (38:36):
Our final Winter Kates final winner was Philip from the
Phillip from the eighty.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Okay, Michael Thomas, we'll be back on tomorrow. I love that.
I'm gonna watch it tonight.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
We'll be back on tomorrow at three o'clock. But for
Joe Davis, bobblehead night, Yeah, Bubblehead, the final Kershaw start.
Thank you for all the uh the great work Kates
and all the memories about Kershaw, and and thank you
for all the great tickets that we got to give away.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Dave Wiese gotta go.
