So eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy.
(02:48):
Caller ten right now gets that last pair between noon
and seven today to Dodgers padres next week, and Matt
has got the final hour fun fat in effect, it's.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
The yeah We're three fat fun.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Fact nineteen oh five. As summer arrives, pee temperatures are
climbing or trying to figure out ways to stay cool totally,
and a popsicle hits the spot. Nineteen oh five. Eleven
year old kid leaves a mixture of soda and water
outside in a cup and it freezes overnight. He eats it.
(03:25):
He names it after himself, the Epsicle. His last name
was Eperson. When he later has kids, they start calling
it popsickle, and he decides to create pop an enterprise
out of it. The Popsickle awesome. That's a fun fat.
There's a lot of fun in that fat, fun in
(03:45):
that fact right there.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, it's supposed to some other fun facts that you've
chosen over the years. You know, there's a phobia, it's
time for quick hits. Everybody has done many phobias in
the fun fact. Some people that just can't help themselves. Yeah,
it's like Stephanie Miller downstairs.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Sometimes you just gotta laugh. The Dodgers are forty one
and twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Their first the top DNL West and Daniel Jeremiah can't
stand it, lawyers bearing his face and a pile of
coal slaughter drown his sorrows because he doesn't drink.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
And I heard those Dodger fans were removed from pet
Coo because the instigators were the Padre fans behind him.
Of course, of course a very violent fan based the
Padre fans, thirty Border fans readibly.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
The Giants are also forty one and twenty eight though,
and that's not good man. They're very good, but they're
not supposed to be, not supposed to be. They got
no punch, but they got that that rotation man with
that guy and the other guy with those two guys.
Those two guys know how to pitch, but.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
They'll be up against Yoshi Yamamoto in the series opener
tomorrow night at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
About helping your guy out a little bit, huh, Dodger bats,
but little run support for Yamamoto. Help him out with this,
cy Young.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
It's interesting you brought that up because an angel showed
up right now. He's gonna help. The Angels are thirty
three and thirty four. There was a three in a row,
seven and last ten, and then they're in Baltimore tomorrow
to start a weekend series with the Cartoon Birds.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
The o's there's an angel just got here.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
And he's here to help. They're sitting in third place
in the Al West. Matt the NBA Finals, Ray John
and as we said earlier, her entertaining game last night,
Pacers with a two to one series lead in the Finals.
Game four is tomorrow in Indianapolis. Shake Gilgess. Alexander says
(05:55):
he's tired. Hey hey, hey, hey, holds, I'm I'm fatigued.
He was adamant that that cannot be an excuse, no
matter how much the pacer is making a priority to
wear his ass down. You got to suck it up.
There's a maximum of fourth games left in the season.
It's what you've worked for the whole season. If it's
(06:18):
what you worked for the whole season, eh, to me,
that's the way I see it. Ey, Sorry, but you
gotta suck it up, get it done, and try to
get a win. I'm all a boot that business. Tyrese
Halburton got a little chimpy with the media after Game three.
Is probably that Doyle guy.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, that guy's annoying. Oh, he's the worst. T J
Simers guy.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
He's even worse. He's awful. That Siakam from New Mexico
State's like, are you good? Bro? Are you okay? What
you asking? What's your name? Doyle?
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Oy ah? Doyle rules.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Good carratraditions. He's tired of the talking heads. Halliburton is
because he's so weird and goongly and he people make
fun of him because he's a goof. But he's tired
of it.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
The commentary is always going to be what it is.
You know, most of the time, the talking heads on
the major platforms, I couldn't care less honestly, Like what
do they really know about basketball? But I think as
a group, you know, and watching film myself, seeing where
I can get better is is important. And uh, you know,
I mean at a time like this, I'm not really
(07:31):
on social media as much. I try to stay off
it as much as I can, but you know, you
see it and you know ESPN what might be on
in my house and there it is, and you know
it is what it is. But I think just seeing
where I can be better is the most important thing
and having that reflection with myself. I talk a lot,
obviously with with my trainer Drew and coach Carlisle and
(07:51):
all those guys, and it's a you know, constant conversation
I can get better. There was adjustments that had to
be made coming into today for me, and I thought
I did a better job at that.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Okay, maybe a bit of a revelation. They're not talking
to you. They're not doing a show for the professional
NBA player, so it's an audience millions that they're talking to,
and they got to kind of spout off and get
after a little bit and it doesn't Yeah, they're not
they're not looking to to market the show to the
(08:25):
fifteen guys that are on the tape. Just keep it going, man,
head down and keep going. NBA PR put this out
just a couple of hours ago. Guy.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
You know everybody's watching the NBA Finals, right. The first
three games of these finals with the Pacers and the
Thunder have been the most watched programs on TV.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Since the first week of May of this year. Well
that's pretty good, okay, most watched show in five weeks.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Wait to go, halle Halitosis.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Lakers far were dough finn Smath handmade tails and reruns.
By the way, I'd like to find of that.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Did you see the sacred ceremony when everybody just gets
pretty awesome?
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Does she get her daughter back?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Or what?
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Hey spoiler alert, man with you? She gets him back?
And then Catus dies?
Speaker 5 (09:14):
What?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Lakers forward Dauphin Smith underwent surgery on his left ankle.
It is expected to be able to go for the
start of season in October. Dauphin Smith is a three D,
three and D contributor for the Lakers. He also does
contribute in uh, you know a real time, like he's
a person, so it's not like two D.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I think it's a three pointers in defense, just a
three and D three dimensions from a different dimension.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
No.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
I think it's just like, this is a guy. What
does he do? He shoots the three and he plays some.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
D oh, I get it now. I thought that maybe
he was, like, you know, formatted.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
And his middle name is Finnie Ridge too far maybe well.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Uh, him and Luca have been reading nighted his teammates
since they both started their career together in Dallas.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
One of those guys is an Ai Bought. The other
one is a slove Indian. Have you seen Luca though lately? Good? Man? Wow,
trimmed down.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
He's on the we GOVI and he's just he's killing it. Man.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
The scrap thing is everything.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
After receiving your heady for you poop your pants seven
times in the first ten minutes' we call a doctor.
After reive an eyeball falls out, call it doctor.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
After receiving heavy criticism for skipping the Gold Cup, Christian
Pulisich spoke out today for the first time in an
interview with CBS Sports. He's coming to fire recently when
he opted to prioritize his rest and recovery this summer
instead of competing with the US men's national team. Pulasich,
the leader and captain of the squad said, I ain't
going to LA anyway. No, no, Hu's a He responded
(10:53):
to the noise and gave more insight into his controversial
decision to briefly step away from the team. Here he
is earlier today on CBS Sports.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
I've always said as well, I'm surprised with with how
little I actually actually gets to me. I try to
stay away from from it as much as I can.
You comes to those guys, it's I don't know, I
guess it is. It is tough because I you know,
I looked up to those guys growing up. Some of
these guys are my idols, and you know, I respect
them as players, and it's tough, especially when you know
(11:25):
some of them as well, even you know privately, the
way they can, you know, the way they talk to
me and and clearly want to show support and and
and you know, you know, be your friend and everything.
And then and then it goes and they say something
slightly different publicly, and that's that's fine. It's it doesn't
hurt me. Am I surprised by it. I don't know,
(11:45):
not really. People people are always going to have their opinions,
but you know, in the end.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Better myself. What am I just better myself?
Speaker 8 (11:56):
And also you know, ultimately for you know, for the
best for the team, and that's what I do. And
and to question, you know, of all things. You can
talk about my performances whatever you want, but to question
my my commitment, especially to your national team, in my opinion,
that's that's a way out of line. But you know
how it is, you can forget really quickly, Lady Chris.
You're sure once once I'm back with the national team,
(12:19):
I hope if I can. You know, once I'm back
with the national team, I can play again and score
a goal and then win a game.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
It's people will will forget all about this quickly. So
you know how things go. I won't forget about it.
I heard his voice now say one thing to me
behind my back, and then something else when they're on
the TV. That's just you know, that's very disappointing. Here
I can speak. I know why the US men's national
team has trouble.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
There.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Used to be mad, used to be mad, Pewter sitch.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Yeah, back then you'd say, hey, you tell weeelld, I'm
gonna come kick his ass. That's what I'm gonna do yeah,
well to kick his ball. I'm gonna stomp your ball,
La Less, I'm gonna stomp your ball. You don't have
to hide behind your dad's Twitter muscles, you bitch. Oh yeah,
wait a minute. We like this guy just because you
wanted to take a vacation in MAJORCA. I'm out and
(13:07):
then hit up there. I'm out on him, and I'm
out on everybody that's not cool. I'm out on everything. USA.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
We've made it even easier to take LA Sports with
you this summer. Make AM five to seventy or your
favorite AM five seventy LA Sports podcast a preset on
the iheartradiop using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto road Trip.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
All summer with LA Sports go until seven pm. Handed
over to David Vasse Off Day, Dodger Talk Tomorrow Dodgers Giants.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
It's time for Don McLean, my hero just like everybody
else that comes on this show, but he is our bff,
the baron of Box Canyon, and in that regard, he's
not like everybody else that comes on this show. She
is our longest tenured guest. Because of a bad back
incident in twenty thirteen, he no longer shows up at
(14:03):
these anymore summer tour events. But he's still in our
heart other than the one in thousand oh d o. Yeah,
but he won't get in the car for a long jour.
He takes the jet packed right down the hill, stops
at Vick's house on the way. The leading score in
the history of the Pack twelves. It's all the same,
(14:25):
CIA's finest. He's in the middle of Camp McLain for
the NBA Draft and the baby you know him from
Fan Duel Sports. You know him from that FST one
of the Big Ten Network. It is the great Don
McClay on the Petroson Money Show. I'm your Southern California
(14:45):
Toyota dealer celebrity online. Hello Don, how are you?
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (14:49):
This time of year until about September ish too, is
about as far as all go.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Oh yeah, so you know, we don't ask we get
one at t There was a time that you'd get
in that that escalade and take it and take it
down the four oh five in Orange County.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
But that time is no longer.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
That time is not with it.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Yeah, And that's why I've I've forgotten to mention it.
I've picked up a new ride from our guys at
Mountain Dew Chevrolet a couple of months ago. Oh yeah,
what was it, Tahoe RST.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
You know, I don't know if you're in the market
for a Toyota Tacoma because I've made the switch since
the Dodgers went full Japanese.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Oh really, really really, but we still love the good
people about and be sure you drive whatever makes you happy.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Ah, exactly, great, Don McClay, everybody, uh that Dodd. You know,
we've been watching these NBA Finals because we're a sports show. Uh,
but man, it's been pretty darn entertaining and and uh
the matchup is really fun to watch. And you know,
there's a lot of guys that that we know, maybe
(15:59):
that you had forgot about from the Pact twelve better
on that Indiana team, like McConnell and that uh, what's
that guy's name, Maynard Matho's Maynard?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Oh? Yeah, that guy?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I mean, who have been pretty exciting.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Yeah, two Arizona guys.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
And I think what what to me is interesting is
just how much everybody thought, okay see was an overwhelming
favorite coming into the series and now they're down two
to one. But I think that speaks to the parody
in the league now that there really isn't any dominant
teams with superstars across the board that are just going
to roll through the playoffs. And so it has been
(16:37):
entertaining and and you know, you hear these guys talk,
you know, during the game and at the pre and
post and all that about how much the bench matters,
and it does. And last night the difference in the
game was the bench, for sure.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Uh it turns out it's two two one, don Sorry
I put that on you last week. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
sorry about.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
That slipped right past me.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Now they just made the switch.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Fourteen. They made the switch. So I've been asleep on
that one for the last ten years.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
You knows me how much it tells you how much
I'm engaged this time of year.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
It only go two thousand oaks.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
But you mentioned, you know, the the heavy favorite that
okaysee was. I don't know if I have ever seen
an NBA final where a team has gone up to
one and now has home court advantage and they are
still the underdog. And that is how much faith the
odds makers have. And okay see, you told us last
(17:31):
week that, you know, while it went from what might
have been a five game series to now a six
or seven game series. Do you still feel that way
or do you think that maybe the Pacers have found
something defensively and how they're now attacking SGA on that
side of the court, that that could carry them to
a title.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Well, I think this first, and I think I told
you guys last week after Indiana won game one, I
told you Oklahoma City would smack him in game two,
and they did, and I think Oklahoma City's going to
smack them again in game four. It's just when you
have two teams that are stylistically different but not that
far apart talent wise with each other. Sga is still
(18:06):
the best player on the floor of the Halliburt's trying
to prove him wrong. I think it just flip flops.
He keeps going back and forth. So I think now,
after watching last night, I think this game's going. This
series is going seven games for sure.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
How good is because you watch him play and you
just kind of say to yourself, man, that guy's weird.
He is just so different than anything we really see
out there. Is Chet Holmgren, like really good? Is he
really tall? And he can shoot? Like how would you
describe Chet's game at this particular moment of his career.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Usually guys with that kind of length Matt don't move
as well as he moves, and he's got enough skill
with it. Now they don't rely on his skill very much.
But you saw, like last night he got it. He
challenged the shot, got the rebound and then brought it
in transition. That's unusual for a guy that's seven feet
seven to one, And so that's why you know you're
(18:57):
watching m He's really skinny. He's actually put on wait
since college. I saw a picture the other day of
him in college, and you think he looks skinny now,
I mean in college it was ridiculous. But I just
think the combination of length and skill is what makes
him so unique. But he's really effective. And you know,
the numbers don't jump off the page because that team
(19:17):
is so good and Jalen Williams and the SGA score
a lot of points. But he's going to be a
max contract guy for what he does in the effect
he has on the game on both sides.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
The One and Only Don McClain our guest on The
Petrus and Money Show on AM five seventy LA Sports
he's in a very very awkward time of year, the
NBA Finals coming to an end. Camp McClain is at
least more than half over, right, Don, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Most of the guys are gone. We're still got a
couple in here and they're back and forth a little bit,
but it'll be all done by middle of next week
for sure.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
So have you already down shifted in the Don McClain
fatigue department?
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Yeah, Yeah, it's not as much as it was. And
like I told you, guys, we had so many guys
this year and so many nil guys coming through here
that it's just it's more than it's ever been. And
so I think that was part of it, part of it.
So I'm getting old as you know what, and uh,
but yeah, it's it's lightning up and it's the the
end is near the light at the end of the tunnel.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
What would it take now that you have as much
experience with them and you can put it into context
with others soon to be draftees and number one overall picks,
Like what would the package have to look like to
get Cooper Flag?
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Like?
Speaker 2 (20:35):
How how big of a deal is this guy at
number one?
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Well, he's he's You know, I've only had one other
number one pick, and that was Carl Townsend. He he
was clearly the number one pick that year. I think
Cooper's clearly the number one pick this year. I think
I think most would agree based on what they saw
Duke his freshman year. This is a once in a
ten year guy. Probably the interesting part, and I think
(20:58):
we talked about this a few weeks ago, is he's
not going to a bad team. And I think it's
for me. It's going to be fascinating to watch because normally,
when you're the number one pick, you go to a
crappy team and it's your world. Think Kate Cunningham and
Detroit Like, it's just you get the ball every time
you're shooting as much as you want, do you dominate
the game for your team. We've go in to a
(21:19):
team that's already got Kyrie and Ad and other pretty
good players. And that's the one thing that I've noticed
with him, and I think I told you guys this.
He's such a good dude and such a good teammate
that he will defer and just because he's an unselfish guy,
he doesn't need it, even though he knows he can dominate,
and so it's going to be really interesting to see
(21:41):
how that dynamic plays out once he gets to Dallas
and gets incorporated with the rest of those guys on
that team.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Did something go wrong for Kevin Durant don these last
few years? I guess since he left Golden State. I mean,
the guy was the best player in the NBA and
I think that was in general consensus for a few years.
And I don't know, I know they came pretty close
in Brooklyn, But did something go wrong for Kevin Durant
(22:10):
or was it just the circumstance of the teams he
chose to go to.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Yeah, I think it's more. You know, what's what wrong
is he went to Phoenix and there's this Phoenix you know,
changing ownership and their front office they have I don't
even know who their GM is because they have like
five gms, literally, they have five different decision makers chambers,
and so I think, yeah, it's just all become like
(22:35):
it's just I don't know, it's just there. I think
that's what's wrong. I don't think Kevin Durant's become any
less of a player. I know, you know, he wants
to go to contender because he's getting up there in
age and he thought he was going to contender in Phoenix.
But as you guys know, in any sports, football, basketball, anything,
it starts at the top and it trickles down. And
if your leadership, in your ownership, in your front office
(22:57):
aren't aligned and on the same page, it's probably not
gonna go very well, and it hasn't in Phoenix.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
All right, don well, have a wonderful night. We appreciate you.
Congratulations to you and Brooke and Trent and all the boys.
This is all your boys graduated from high school and
that's a wonderful thing.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yeah, that's right. All right, guys, thanks, One.
Speaker 2 (23:17):

balanced shoes from nineteen eighty five at home. You ruined
it for yourselves.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (26:10):

Speaker 2 (26:33):

right now, easy. I need a picture with Chris Taylor.
That's why I'm here. Well, thanks for supporting the Petrosid
Money Summer Tour. Appreciate you. At least you want a prize.
I hope she doesn't win the SeaWorld tickets.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
I hope that chick wins the SeaWorld if we send
her to SeaWorld, the magical place that some child could enjoy.
Right Instead, it's just her complaining about why is the
fish smell? Because it's a big, giant, freaking huge animal
that belongs to the Sea.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
I think it's we should probably give the Sea World
tickets away last then, just so in case she does
win and it won't ruin the rest of our day.
Great call any other prize.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
You know what, Matt, I always always adhere to you
when it comes to the delegation of giving away prizes.
And that's why right there, Uh, you got the dead
guy for day today.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
Insanity damn it, SeaWorld went to that freaking Sure, what
a life for today's dead guy? Patrick Gas would him
in two hundred fifty four today? Patty born in Falling Springs,
Pennsylvania parents Irish immigrants. They moved around a lot instead
of going to school. Spot the spot. He just didn't.
(27:49):
So he was illiterate until adulthood, very strong, and listed
in the military seventeen ninety two.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I can't read.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
I just well seventeen ninety two. Not being able to
read is a little different than now. Wheeleen, Virginia is
where he was fighting the Native Americans after enlisting in
seventeen ninety two. It's really good with his hands, so
he got into carpentry. I'm am using these hands to
fight these freaking Native America engined, he built the house
of James Buchanan Senior, and while he was building it
(28:19):
befriended his son, James Buchanan Junior, called Jimmy Buck, fifteenth
President of the United States, and this illiterate dude, we're
best friends. He served under General Alexander Hamilton in the
Army until eighteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Excuse me here, what's his name?
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Alexander Hamilton. He was stationed in Kaskakia, Illinois, right up
the river from Camp Dubois, where Lewis and Clark's expedition
would originate. The core of discovery found gas. Recognized as
carpentry talent, promoted him from private to general and invited
him to join the expedition.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
There's only one problem with him. You can't read. Read
but where we're going there are no Signsuis.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
And Clark are cruise and their exploring there, walking their
hike in, they're charting a course. They get all the credit,
all the appreciation. What is our man Patrick doing? Building?
He built two separate winter quarters to protect the team
from the elements. He hued dugout canoes for them to
navigate waterways. He built wagons to carry the canoes eighteen
(29:20):
miles around the falls.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Let this be a lesson to you. If you cannot
read or write, you cannot write about what you did.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
It's funny you say that he would learn to read
or write pe And when Lewis and Clark were on
smaller exploratory expeditions, he was the guy in charge of everyone.
You are not getting to Fort Clatsop, Oregon and opening
the West without this gas man.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Oh, they love Dionne at Fort Clatt love oh at
Fort Clatt. They're very self righteous. They're serious.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
And again, despite being a guy that never learned a
reader write until adulthood, he was the one that kept
the journal published in eighteen oh seven. It was the
first account of the Lewis and Clark journey. He coined
the term Corps of Discovery. It was a bestseller a
dollar a copy, twenty two dollars per copy in today's dollars.
I used to be stupid, but now I'm learned. I'm
the guy. He was translated into French German, many reprints
(30:11):
still in publication today. After the expedition, he served in
the War of eighteen twelve and lost an eye in
the Battle of Bridgewater. During the Civil War, he was
ninety one years old. Now I learned to read all
over again. He was ninety one and demanded they let
him enlist to fight the rebels. I don't think they
let him. They didn't. This is the best part that
(30:32):
ninety one is pretty old back, you know, because he
was on the move, you know, and fighting the wars
and losing the eyes and all that. He didn't get
married till he was sixty. He married a twenty year
old Maria Hamilton, no relation to Alexander. They had seven kids. Yeah,
and he was sixty when he got married.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Got a lot of catching up today. It's like showing
up late to the party and everybody's drunk.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
I gotta plant my seat. He lived to be ninety nine.
The oldest surviving member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition
Patrick gass Well.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Matt Today, Hey, we celebrate somebody we've celebrated before. It
is Jamaican news. It's Jamaica News. Seem Brod's doing fine. Please,
I don't share the same. The musical taste is one
that might appreciate this, So for me, it's gonna be
a no.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
It's a light no. I appreciate the offer. It's a
soft nose.
Speaker 7 (31:25):
Straight cross the broad straight sold straight vertical.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Some day we celebrate the great Rodney basils Price fifty
three years old. Today turn it out. You want to
hear him go? He was really one of the best.
And I'm not saying it crop start. It's blow crap man.
You're gonna get nobody.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
What the news?
Speaker 3 (31:48):
What you know about the night? No momer can stop go,
no pop pop, no bid mon No, there's.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
No farm, not tom.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
It's your distrips, your night's your mass.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Merchant stall, souls Street. I's a war you don't want,
don't make it start. One of those popular dance Saul
artists of all time, Rodney basil Price, The Bounty Killer.
Oh yeah, bounty Killer. He did inspire me as a
young man, and I uh, I used to go to
(32:22):
the Rosta shop on Melrose with my older brother and
his sweet Mustang. He'd drive up to Melrose on the
weekends and as a Jamaican guy that owned a Rosta shop,
and I said, what do I need to have? He says,
you need the Bounty Killer, which I didn't say it
like that, and he but he made me buy a
compilation CD that had one Bounty Killer song.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
On it.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
There was only one song, and then shortly thereafter the
album came out Roots, Reality and Culture in ninety four
and I snapped that up as well. And uh still,
in my opinion that is his best style. And I
had a Bounty Killer in red, gold and green painted
on the back of my cleats my senior year, because
(33:04):
you know, I kill for fun.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
He's always and money. He's always been on the VP
record label and Green they're the distributor also for Greensleeves Records,
which are the same company based in Queens and then
in England. In his career he was known for his rivalries.
Early he had rivalries with all of them, Matt, Supercat, Vibes, Cartel,
(33:27):
but mostly the Beanie Man.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
Him and the Beanie went back and forth for like
a decade and a half. That's unfortunate.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Eventually they made up in twenty fourteen to make a
record together.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Guice, what do we do?
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Many collaborations. Matt mob Deep, the Wu Tang Clan no
doubt used him on a song Hey Baby, Hey, Robin
the Swede, the Fujis y Cleff Swizz Beats. He has
said publicly that popular rap is embarrassing to reggae to
(34:00):
agree with you.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
I could see that.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
I'll turn it out to kill me. Did we take
your life? I said, tong Cho, what do you bow? Second?
Kill me the wound? I just don't do dance all
like this anymore matter had.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
He come.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
He don't get the nickname the war Lord without having
some trouble in your life. He was shot as a
young man's at fourteen. I got a check. He was
arrested for profanity. He ran some red lights in Kingston
and wouldn't take a breathalyzer. He got into a Julio
Otios like Chris fight with his baby's mom nineteen years ago.
(34:43):
But seven years ago, through his foundation, he gave a
series of very lucrative donations to the Kingston hospital that
treated his gunshot wound. As a young team get inspired
him beginning the music of.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
The First Man. You're not reached me clear?
Speaker 7 (34:57):
You shots that the bounty killer heard him jump like
Shandy lear raup here, look turn it up just that
man don't know find you're clear when it busted this
up here? And take your rustle attached here when I'm.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Much that many.
Speaker 7 (35:10):
Of them declare may not hear me not sell well,
rub them out. Yeah, we've known them enough, not sense them.
Come back to your will. Get drunking now one the
Master time coming up. Mass say he's got ken Rosen.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
You better help Ken Rosen and hot fire like the

Speaker 7 (35:31):
